- 0:00But remember that in the darkness, there is light.
- 0:05This is a concept of Hasidut, where even in the most dark place, there is a light there because every existence, in order to exist, must have a holy energy I created, this class through a discourse of the Alter Rebbe of Lubavitch, I consider that has the essence of a very profound message of Rosh Hashanah.
- 0:53So let's start.
- 0:55Rosh Hashanah conveys Hashem's blessing through three central themes.
- 1:04Malchuyot, that means sovereignty, recognizing and crowning the King of Kings.
- 1:14Shofarot, the shofars call the soul deepest unfiltered cry.
- 1:21Zichronot are remembrance, recounting and closing the deeds of the past to open a renewed creation of the works Ex Nihilo, out of nothing.
- 1:35And this is a very important concept.
- 1:38The new year is like a start, like a newborn.
- 1:45Because Rosh Hashanah is the birth of the world the Torah says,"Mark the years, and a new shofar blast.
- 1:57This is a law for Israel, a judgment from the God of Yaakov." Unlike the other month, say the Alter Rebbe, Tishrei is called the month, only the month, because the new year is not just a renewal, but a creation ex nihilo, an entirely new beginning.
- 2:24Rosh Hashanah is the year's central source from which space, time, and soul originate.
- 2:35Olam is, means space.
- 2:39Shanah is time, and Nefesh is us.
- 2:43The, world goes around those three dimension.
- 2:49Rosh Hashanah is the beginning that shapes all events across the dimensions of space, time, and soul for the year ahead.
- 3:01From it, is drawn and spread to every day of the coming month Natalie, good morning, Hannah Perlow, good morning.
- 3:15The rest of the years are called these the months of, Kislev, the months of Nisan.
- 3:24But the only one that in a general way is mentioned is the months of Tishrei because the month- of Tishrei, has in it the energy, the general energy that will diffuse and to the rest of the months of the year The flow of a spiritual energy begins with the personal work of Teshuvah in Elul and continues through Rosh Hashanah, the 10 days of Teshuvah, and Yom Kippur.
- 4:07The 10 days of Teshuvah is the first day is day is Rosh Hashanah, and the last day of the 10 days is Yom Kippur.
- 4:16This vitality comes from recognizing Hashem's sovereignty over all higher and lower worlds, which were created through the concealment of the blessed God's infinite light.
- 4:38The worlds may change, but God does not change.
- 4:44He is the first, and nothing exists before or after Him.
- 4:49Hashem reveals the light through our recognition of His sovereignty, because there is no king without subjects.
- 5:04So how we,, make the creation of the world is through our recognition that Hashem is the King of Kings.
- 5:16God conceals His light so the physical world can come into being.
- 5:25Before creation, only He and His name existed.
- 5:30For existence to emerge from nothing, He contracted His infinite light.
- 5:38The Zohar calls this process Tzimtzum.
- 5:43And let me explain in more simple world.
- 5:48When I speak, I am taking the space and time.
- 5:57When I allow you to speak, I allow you to take the space and time, So this is the same situation with God.
- 6:10In order that God created the world, He needed to retreat, to conceal Himself, because His light filled all the world.
- 6:22So in order that the physical world exist, He needed to hide Himself darkness does not affect Him.
- 6:34He was, He is, and He will be.
- 6:38He was, is, and remains beyond creation, both before it and after it.
- 6:49He assume the mantle of kingship for the material world could recede physically in a chain of order, creating humanity to transform darkness into light.
- 7:05So Hashem create what we call in Hebrew a libush, means a mantle.
- 7:13Is what I found very sophisticated word, but it means a dress.
- 7:18He dress himself.
- 7:20When you dress yourself, you are hiding your body, so the same way Hashem hides through his name.
- 7:32That's why we call Hashem.
- 7:34He's the name.
- 7:36Correct?
- 7:38So creation's purpose, what is the creation purpose and why He created humanity?
- 7:45Why He created Adam?
- 7:48He created in order to transform any darkness from the past previous world into His light.
- 7:59That is the mission of a human being.
- 8:04This- was the mission of Adam, that he failed in that mission So creation purpose lies beyond human wisdom and perception.
- 8:17For us it's impossible to understand.
- 8:20It is rooted solely in the almighty supreme will to create through his attributes of kindness.
- 8:30Because Hashem creates the world through kindness.
- 8:33As it is written, a world of kindness should be built.
- 8:40Yet, the way events unfold in the world ultimately depends on our actions.
- 8:49We are partner with Hashem in the creation of the world, and that is our responsibility is in us.
- 9:02In order that the world will be good and will manifest kindness and beneficence depend on us.
- 9:13The renewal of the sending a spiritual energy, that is what happened in Rosh Hashanah, takes place the day of judgment.
- 9:26Rosh Hashanah is called the day of judgment.
- 9:29Hashem brings the past year's energy to a close and draws down new vitality for the year ahead.
- 9:43Hashem is closing the chapter of the past year and opening a new page for this coming year.
- 9:53That's why is a reborn.
- 9:56God wants us to accept his sovereignty willingly, opening the channels for his infinite kindness to flow into us without obstruction.
- 10:14This is the purpose of Hashem.
- 10:16He wants, with his immense true kindness, give everything to us, but we create the obstruction, we create the blockages Teshuva is a return to his teaching and deeper understanding of his laws.
- 10:37He wants us to do mitzvot and to learn Torah, because through the learning of the Torah the food of the soul, the food of the world, and the Torah has in it all the wisdom of HaKadosh Baruch Hu.
- 10:54And what are the mitzvot?
- 10:55The mitzvot are the draw down of the energies of Hashem that will transform in material,, events.
- 11:12That are the mitzvot We experience the opening of God's hands as expressed in the verse,""recited daily in the morning prayers and in the blessing after meals."" Open, your hands and I will fulfill your desires.
- 11:40Hashem wants to give us everything good, everything that we need, all the energies, all the different packages of energy to have good health, to have a respect, and see our children to grow and perform in the best way.
- 12:02What can be other satisfaction than to see everything that we want for us reflected in our descendants?
- 12:13The sages teach that should be read.
- 12:19means the, the.
- 12:22That alludes to the two of Hashem, Hashem's intertwined with Adni, the divine name associated with physical world.
- 12:38And I wrote here, that the start with the and Adni ends with the.
- 12:47That's why in the you have two when we say Adonai.
- 12:53Correct?
- 12:55So through our may we receive a tremendous influx of Hashem's infinite light in the coming year.
- 13:07Amen and amen.
- 13:10For this reason, the sages instituted reciting a blessing before each mitzvah.
- 13:17When you say, Baruch ata Hashem Elokeinu Melech ha'olam asher kideshanu b'mitzvotav v'tzivanu, means blessed are you, Lord, our God, King of the universe, who has sanctified us with His commandments, with the mitzvot that are the commandments.
- 13:43Through performing mitzvot, we draw down Hashem's light.
- 13:49So that is the function of the mitzvot.
- 13:53The blessing draws down Hashem's supreme will and wisdom, while the mitzvot serve as the channels through which His boundless kindness flows into us.
- 14:09On Rosh Hashanah, renewed light is drawn down through three elements.
- 14:16The shofar sounds, correct?
- 14:20The three sounds of the shofar, the remembrance of our deeds, because we remember all the good and negative deeds that, that happened in the past, and the coronation, that means the acknowledge of Hashem, all which-- that all of these will wish a- will awaken our teshuva.
- 14:48That is what will awake our teshuva.
- 14:51In conclusion, Hashem's supreme kindness seeks to bestow all the goodness we need to fulfill our purpose, transforming darkness into light.
- 15:05This transformation must be chosen willingly.- Hashem wants, I want to transform, not impose Its key, lies in each person's Teshuvah, which unites Malchut, the lower He of the Tetragrammaton, with the higher spiritual worlds represented by the letter Yud He Vav The Yud He Vav are representation of the spiritual world, but they are separated from the lower He that is the manifestation of the lower world where we live.
- 15:52And this is the essential work of Rosh Hashanah.
- 15:57That is the mission of Rosh Hashanah.
- 16:01This class, I w- wrote was inspired by the Alter Rebbe discourse in the Kuntay Torah on Rosh Hashanah.
- 16:11May his teachings help seal a year of divine providence in all our endeavors.
- 16:19So I now I open to your discussion, and I would like to hear from Dr.
- 16:26Yoon how you experience this class and if you have something to add or ask Yeah.
- 16:41Um, I, I cannot believe this Rosh Hashanah this year is coming so early, and then it is, like, almost, surreal.
- 16:50But,, I, um, about mitzvah, when you said draw down Hashem's light, this got me think, like from yesterday, attending Claus' funeral and, how much a mitzvah and his kindness, generosity affected the community, and how people talked about, and how our physical body, it gave me different appreciation of our physical body that enables to the mitzvah.
- 17:22And how that, um, affected people in a community.
- 17:28And, then each person who's been affected also do the same kind of kindness and, generosity to the community, which kind of made me think it's kind of drawing down the Hashem's light that alone.
- 17:45It just, um, it, it kind of meant a little bit different, uh, to me, and I learned a deeper level of, uh, understanding about mitzvah.
- 18:00Like, so, uh- Mm-hmm.
- 18:03Yeah.
- 18:04Mm-hmm.
- 18:04That's it.
- 18:05Yes.
- 18:06Thank you.
- 18:06Yes, absolutely.
- 18:08I agree with you in every aspect.
- 18:12So doesn't depend of the- Of the learning or a scholarship of a Jew depends more from his way to bring and to fulfill Hashem missions.
- 18:33That is what is important.
- 18:37There is many in history, many stories of the Baal Shem Tov in which you can feel the same message.
- 18:48Where a simple Jew, without having learned higher levels of, of Torah and, and be a, a great sage can transform the whole world.
- 19:05And there is a story in Yom Kippur about the Baal Shem Tov where a simple man didn't know how to read Hebrew.
- 19:18Only he knew a few letters in Hebrew.
- 19:22This is the only thing that he learned in his life.
- 19:26And in his desperation in Yom Kippur, he was not able to daven, to pray.
- 19:35But he make a final decision and he says,"I am going to use all the letters that I know in Hebrew, and I ask Hashem that he will create the words of the Tehillah." At that moment, this, this man was in another place in the country or i- or in the world.
- 20:03And by the purity of the Baal Shem Tov, he, he stopped his davening and the people at the shul, they were amazed why the Baal Shem Tov was, uh, stop his prayer.
- 20:22And w- and the reason was because when he heard the letters pronounced by this man, he knew that Hashem will transform and will give a good year to all the community.
- 20:42So it's a beautiful story that express how important is, is the pure neshamah of a human being.
- 20:54You don't need to know too much.
- 20:57Actually, sometimes to know too much create blockages.
- 21:02But when you do things and you love Hashem in a very deep way, at a very passion way, emotionally, that represent a higher level of acceptance from Hashem Ashira Um, let me know if you can't hear me, but I think- I can.
- 21:29You- Oh, okay perfectly, perfectly.
- 21:32Thank you.
- 21:33Um, I think this time of year, um, it's just the perfect time to really look inside and try to refine your own character so that you're ready to meet Hashem in the field and see what the year has to offer.
- 21:48And I, I think, just like a relationship with a spouse or with a friend or with a community, it takes effort.
- 21:57And, and I think what's so great about this class is it gives you a chance to, to reflect on yourself and see what you can do in the future.
- 22:06And I would say this class especially is probably one of the few times where I really think about myself and what I can do to try to make myself a little bit better, or to get through the day a little easier, get stronger.
- 22:19And so I, I appreciate this.
- 22:21I think it's a really great message.
- 22:24Thank you, Ashira.
- 22:25Thank you very much.
- 22:27But remember, Ashira, that I am only a channel of Hashem.
- 22:32If I am able to understand all these words of the Alter Rebbe that are very complicated, it's not a, a simple writing, and I am reading in Hebrew.
- 22:44It is not depend of me.
- 22:48Depend of God that g- is giving me the tools to understand.
- 22:53Yeah, you're- And at same times to bring over to you.
- 22:57Yeah, you're a great messenger.
- 22:59I feel a lot like that simple person who just likes to go out in the wilderness and kind of absorb Hashem's greatness.
- 23:07Mm.
- 23:08But then, um, you bring a more conceptualized response, and it's, it's great.
- 23:14I love absorbing it, and I just...
- 23:16It's been very nice.
- 23:17Thank you.
- 23:18Thank you.
- 23:19Hannah?
- 23:21Boker tov, everyone.
- 23:23Boker tov, Hannah.
- 23:25What, uh, Ashira said.
- 23:28Something that I forgot to say, excuse me, Hannah.
- 23:30Sure.
- 23:31Is that this class is in the Ilui Nishma Shel Nissim Bas Mesuda, Ben Mesuda.
- 23:35In order to send the energy of the neshamah of our dear Clot elevating to above in the supernal world, and with, Hashem in, at His throne.
- 23:52Amen.
- 23:52Yes, Hannah what Ashira said really spoke to my heart., I feel the same way, and, I think the class brings ways for us to, tools to engage with Hashem.
- 24:06And I think this is what Hashem...
- 24:09With Hashem doesn't want us perfect beings, but He wants us engaged in becoming better and better Jews.
- 24:15And so I, that's how I see it too.
- 24:19Wonderful.
- 24:20In terms of the teachings of the Alter Rebbe, thank you so much.
- 24:25I can only imagine how the originals are complex,'cause your translation is already very deep.
- 24:32But we, we appreciate so much.
- 24:35I, I made notes, and I do have something, that I would like to, um, just point out maybe.
- 24:45The, I knew, I, I've known that Hashem means the name.
- 24:50I know that.
- 24:52But today you brought the Alter Rebbe of blessed memory.
- 24:56It was his birthday, by the way, Elul yes right?
- 24:59Yes, correct.
- 25:0119.
- 25:02Oh, 19.
- 25:03Yud Tet Kislev.
- 25:04Yud Tet, yes.
- 25:07So Hashem, the name, and the name is how He dress, Hashem dresses, d- like disguises in, in names of Hashem.
- 25:20Is that what was said?.
- 25:24That's what I understood.
- 25:25Okay.
- 25:26Yes.
- 25:27Which is something, connected to the tzimtzum, right?
- 25:32The, to the- Correct.
- 25:34Correct?
- 25:34Okay.
- 25:35'Cause He, He retreated, and He is w- with this dress, which are the names, the 72 names, the tetragram.
- 25:45Clarify my- Happened, but- Oh, okay.
- 25:48Okay.
- 25:49We went back to, to normal.
- 25:51Okay.
- 25:51Okay.
- 25:52Continue.
- 25:52Are you continuing to record now?
- 25:56It's, yes, it says that it's recording.
- 25:58Okay.
- 26:00Okay, great.
- 26:02And now we don't have the notes anymore.
- 26:05Yeah, now it's better.
- 26:06Oh, okay, because I have to, a- again, to share.
- 26:10That's okay.
- 26:12Yes.
- 26:13The, what is missing is only the meditation.
- 26:16Here it is.
- 26:17Meditation, yeah.
- 26:18Mm-hmm.
- 26:18Okay, here.
- 26:19Here it is.
- 26:31Okay., You are going to see it very soon Correct?
- 26:38Not yet, but it's coming.
- 26:41It's coming.
- 26:41Yes.
- 26:41It's coming.
- 26:41Okay, we got it.
- 26:42Okay.
- 26:43Okay.
- 26:43Perfect.
- 26:43Yeah.
- 26:44Okay.
- 26:44Perfect.
- 26:45Yeah, so I think you heard everything that I was trying to confirm.
- 26:49I think- we did, right?
- 26:51We got to the end.
- 26:52Yes.
- 26:52Yes.
- 26:52Okay.
- 26:52Thank you so much.
- 26:53Thank you.
- 26:54Actually,, to comple- complete what you say, every word of the Torah is the name of HaShem.
- 27:04All the Torah is HaShem.
- 27:08So all the spiritual...
- 27:11It's not the spiritual world, is...
- 27:14HaShem doesn't want to separate himself o- from the physical world.
- 27:20He wants to u- be united to the physical world.
- 27:25That's what we have, because everything is one.
- 27:29This is the idea of Echad.
- 27:32And the Yud represent Atzilut.
- 27:35The first Hey represent the world of Briyah, creation.
- 27:41Then the Vav is the world of formation.
- 27:46And the last Hey is the world of action.
- 27:51But the action and the superior world, the world of Atzilut, Briyah, and Yetzirah are separated.
- 28:00There is a separation.
- 28:03HaShem wants that we create a unity, and that unity is only, uh, realize or is, is go to, uh, in, to effect only through our study of Torah, our connection to our mitzvot.
- 28:26Because when we do that, we are transforming the world from darkness to light.
- 28:34We are bringing the light of HaShem into our physical world.
- 28:41Yeah?
- 28:43So that is in a part I am reinforcing the concept Perfect.
- 28:49Thank you.
- 28:50Anita Hi.
- 28:54Good morning, everybody.
- 28:56Good morning what I was thinking is,, Hashem has the energy, and gives us the energy, and we're supposed to take that energy and, make it into action,, and to do.
- 29:15And as they always say, Jews do.
- 29:17And, it's interesting to me, uh, to bring this back to Claude for a minute.
- 29:24He was such a doer.
- 29:27He was such a doer, and his energy just exuded life into, into every space he walked into.
- 29:36And, it was obviously wonderful for our, our community.
- 29:40Um, and, and it's interesting how we all, we all are, are so different because in our own ways, we all do as Jews.
- 29:52And, we do it in our own way.
- 29:56And, um, it's not necessarily, um, it, it's n- not a judgment, but some of us we do it, we do it differently.
- 30:07And, and, um, I think the message today is that, we want to remember that Hashem is our energy and, because Hashem is our energy, we must do So thank you for this class Very good, A- Anita.
- 30:33Excellent.
- 30:34You, you gave an excellent makeup of everything.
- 30:39Thank you very much.
- 30:40Yes, you got it.
- 30:41You got it.
- 30:42Thank you.
- 31:00I don't know.
- 31:00There's, a lot of things that I'm confused about here.
- 31:05So one thing that you mentioned early, at the beginning of the class was, there was a statement with creating humanity to transform darkness into light.
- 31:16Now, do you know what the reason for this was?
- 31:21Like, it seems like Hashem could transform the darkness into light, you know, but yet we're partners in this.
- 31:30And, um, it's, it seems like a difficult thing to do because there really is a lot of darkness, um, in the world can you elaborate on that a little bit?
- 31:51Yes.
- 31:52Hashem could transform the world by itself, correct?
- 31:57And everyone will be a good boy, good girls.
- 32:02But this is like robots.
- 32:05We are not robots.
- 32:07Hashem doesn't want that we will do thing automatically.
- 32:12Mm.
- 32:12He wants us to be the actors- Mm of h- his work.
- 32:18That's why he created us That is the point.
- 32:29And he's giving us all the capacity.
- 32:32Every person has a different way, like Anita says, of perceive and understanding and work and do his mission in a very e- particular way But the point is the actions.
- 32:52That is the point, and we are the actors of the world.
- 32:58We are here in order to perform, and when we perform through holiness, then we bring this light down here, and we transform darkness into light.
- 33:15But remember that in the darkness, there is light.
- 33:20This is a concept of Hasidut, where even in the most dark place, there is a light there because every existence, in order to exist, must have a holy energy.
- 33:39Even the worst of the worst evil person has inside a light that is holy, a light that comes from God because if not, he will not exist at all So that is our mission.
- 34:00Our mission is to work hard, and this is the message of this Rosh Hashanah.
- 34:08And I thought that this is the most important and higher message that I can bring to you today.
- 34:16Not to tell you about the shofar or tell you what to eat or tell you what are the prayers.
- 34:25All this- are in this message.
- 34:29This is the message of Rosh Hashanah.
- 34:32We have a treasure in our hands.
- 34:35Hashem give us all the treasure, all the gifts is in us.
- 34:40Now take that and work with that.
- 34:45Each of us has a different ability, and this is the point.
- 34:51The problem that exists in between the countries in this world and the problem of this world that we are experiencing today is because one country wants to dominate the other country, and this is wrong.
- 35:10We are all important in this world.
- 35:14Once has this ability, and the others has other ability.
- 35:19We have to join our efforts.
- 35:22That is our mission, to join our efforts without hate, without wanting to be the one that wants to be in top.
- 35:36We don't want that.
- 35:37Th-this is the ego.
- 35:39We don't want the ego to conquer us, and that will create...
- 35:45That is-- This ego is the yetzer hara, the evil inclination So that is the mission, and I th- I think that is a beautiful...
- 35:56When I learned this mamar, I said,"I have to give it to you." Okay, so I will like- The- Yes, Nina Tovah.
- 36:07Hold on a s- the, the other thing is you were talking about, in the morning prayers where I know the English says, uh, it's in the Ashrei, You open your hands- Yes, correct again unto a desire of every living thing.
- 36:19So the, with that, thinking about, I think it's in Pirkei Avot where make your will His will, and His will become your will, or, something like that.
- 36:33Yeah.
- 36:33Is it Hashem, when our will conforms to Hashem's will, then those desires will come to fruition, um, as long as they're in accordance with His, you know, His, His will, basically?
- 36:50Exactly.
- 36:51This is the point.
- 36:53It's not so difficult to understand.
- 36:59Ok, eh, René Um, the words that I, um, that really registered today, um, were it's a closing chapter from last year and we're opening a new one.
- 37:15Exactly.
- 37:16Mm-hmm.
- 37:17'Cause I don't always think about the closing.
- 37:20I think about the opening and the teshuvah and...
- 37:24But I don't think about the word closing.
- 37:27Mm-hmm.
- 37:27So I, I liked your words on that.
- 37:29I also like that you said we create a blockage, from Hashem, and again, I don't al- I'm not always cognizant of that.
- 37:40Um, so I appreciate those very words, um, at this moment.
- 37:47It was perfect.
- 37:49Yes.
- 37:49Um, we can not live in the past We, this is the teaching that Rosh Hashanah is a reborn is very important and significant for us.
- 38:07I am a new person.
- 38:09So if I live with the baggages of my past, and my defects, and my mistake, and my, that will not help me at all.
- 38:22This is what creates diseases You want to reborn.
- 38:29Is we live only the present moment.
- 38:33Everything is a yom, now.
- 38:37Now is the word.
- 38:39We say that in Shema Yisrael.
- 38:43We say the word yom, a yom, today, in this moment.
- 38:48So this year has all the potential, all the capacity for me to do the best of myself.
- 39:00Only I have to be willing to do it, and this is what Emunah Tova says.
- 39:06If I pair my desires with desires of Hashem, I am fulfilling my mission When there is a difference between me or my perspective and what the Torah is teaching me that what is the real reason of everything, then I am confused, and I am not doing what I should do.
- 39:33And that is the creation of the blockages because we create our own blockages.
- 39:43We create the obstruction.
- 39:45Is like Hashem wants to pour, to flow all his goodness and his energy to us, but it's like we are creating boundaries.
- 39:59We are c- enter obstacle, and that is what doesn't allow his light to come down to us and his energy to come down to us, and doesn't allow even at the level of healing.
- 40:16One of the problem of a person that is sick is that he doesn't seize what is coming to him.
- 40:29When that person, the sick person, understand and change his view and his perception and leave his disease to the side, and leave the moment, then that will create a process of healing.
- 40:53It's very hard to express what I am saying, very hard to do, I know, but I want to send you this message.
- 41:04We must be responsible of whatever we do.
- 41:10It's in our hands.
- 41:13The, is we make our destiny.
- 41:19We are the one that in order t- e- everything that we do wrong at the level of thought, speech, and action, create a recording in the cosmos So that creation is there, and this is the creation that creates and is harmful to us.
- 41:49But when we connect with Hashem, we remove that cloud of dark energy, and then we allow the good rain to fertilize our field So Hashem sends the rain, but what the farmer do, he needs to process, to prepare the land, the soil.
- 42:25So when the farmer prepare the soil adequately and nourish his soil and s- and, and plant healthy seeds, so that will create a healthy crop that will grow and bring good fruits.
- 42:47This is what we do spiritually in ourself clear?
- 42:57Okay.
- 42:58So my dear Natalie I'm on overload.
- 43:11You always are It's all, it's all good.
- 43:14No, I, ev- every time somebody says something I think,"Oh, that's what I wanna talk about." It's really am- I, I...
- 43:20This has just been a wonderful class.
- 43:23I hadn't thought about mitzvot in terms of, you know, I, and, with the meditations.
- 43:29I'm always focusing, it seems like I'm so struck by the light of Hashem.
- 43:34I, I, I just love...
- 43:35I, I think of it, I, I feel, I think of it as rays and I, and I, you know, it's like I feel, when I think about the light of Hashem, I feel like the, it helps me to feel a connection., It's like the rays coming from Hashem to me.
- 43:50And, and so, um, I, um- I, I love, uh...
- 43:57So that was the first thing I latched on to.
- 44:00And, and then from there, you, you took off with that.
- 44:03I, uh, Rabbi has been talking recently about the importance, and I've thought a lot about this, the importance of letting go of the past, not worrying about the future, but doing good now.
- 44:17Because the past is done, there's nothing we can do about it.
- 44:20It's, You need to learn from it, but you can't dwell on it.
- 44:24And what you're worried about in the future might never happen, so what a waste of time and energy.
- 44:29And so then, talking about that and starting the new book and, related to closing the old.
- 44:35This has just been...
- 44:36and all the things that Shira said this morning, and everybody's...
- 44:40It, it's been wonderful.
- 44:43Thank you, everybody.
- 44:45And but we can transform, not only the negative, the harmful action that we did in past, in good things, in good action.
- 44:58And this is extraordinary transcendent.
- 45:02If you can change the past through your present action, is, is a hope that doesn't have any limits.
- 45:14You see that how beautiful are the words of Hashem and the words of our sages that help us in our evolution in our life.
- 45:28This is the evolution.
- 45:29So feel that you have in you everything.
- 45:35Hashem wants to give you everything to us, but connect with him.
- 45:41Then we have here, I go back to the three dimension, the three tools of Rosh Hashanah, is the awakening of the shofar.
- 45:50That is our voice.
- 45:51The shofar express a voice that we cannot express with word.
- 45:59We need a sound that is above and beyond And this is the sounds of the shofar.
- 46:08And the shofar has three sounds.
- 46:11Tekiah, that is the first sound, a tuuu, that- is represented by Avraham Avinu.
- 46:20Then has And Avraham represent h- kindness and hesed.
- 46:27Then you have the teruah, that is tu tu tu, tu tu tu tu, tu tu tu tu tu.
- 46:33Those are the breaking of the negativity, the breaking of the Gevurah because before the teruah, you have what they call Shevarim.
- 46:45Shevarim is tu tu tu.
- 46:49When you hear tu tu tu of the shofar, means that you are breaking all the Gevurot, all the judgment.
- 47:00And then comes the teruah.
- 47:02You are breaking this.
- 47:04And then at the end of the, blowing, of the shofar, you have a long tekiah, a long tu.
- 47:14And this is we receiving all the goodness that Hashem wants to bring to us.
- 47:23So that is the tool, the shofar.
- 47:26Then we remember, that is the Zichronot.
- 47:29There is in the tefillah, pay attention about moments that we are remembering.
- 47:36We are remembering about Avraham, Yitzhak, and Yaakov.
- 47:40We are remembering our sages.
- 47:42We are remembering our own ancestors, our parents, our grandparents, Everything that we went through and they went through in life And then you have, this, the last one is the teshuvah, is the moment that create in us, okay, I am connected, I am back.
- 48:07I am And how I am back?
- 48:10I am back by, uh, crowning Hashem.
- 48:17What is crowning?
- 48:18I am giving Hashem all the power that he deserve.- The crowning of Hashem means that I am, I'm saying that everything that exists is Hashem.
- 48:29There is nothing beside him.
- 48:32That is the coronation.
- 48:34You are giving the crown to the King of Kings.
- 48:38We are giving the malhut.
- 48:40You are giving the sovereignty.
- 48:43He is sovereign.
- 48:45He is the boss of everyone.
- 48:49That is the idea of the malchuyot.
- 48:52So when you understand those three tools, that is what create in us a complete transformation from us as individual, and we express, diffuse energy to the whole world Because when you have that energy that you ex- you are diffusing this energy to the community, to the people around you, because you have a positive ener- excuse me, a positive energy Okay.
- 49:34I love this Maamar.
- 49:36I love the discourse.
- 49:37And I said, I must make this, Maamar understandable and clear to my dear ladies of Arizona.
- 49:52I have to do that.
- 49:53That is my message.
- 49:55That is my gift to you for this Rosh Hashanah Okay.
- 50:01Beautiful., And Miriam, just, adding that since we are dedicating the class to our dear Nissim Ben Masuda, our Claude Amiel of blessed memory, how beautiful that it seems like, he really filled up the, his purpose.
- 50:22Rabbi mentioned yesterday during the burial, the funeral, that, he asked Claude,"What do you think was your call from Hashem?" And Claude said, without hesitating, he said,"To make people feel like they are home." Beautiful.
- 50:41To make people feel like they are home.
- 50:44And he truly,\ accomplished that in every person that he greeted at CBT, the p- people that he didn't know, and people that were members.
- 50:57I mean, it's just beautiful, so just want to add that.
- 51:00So nice to have an alignment of your actions and Hashem's plans.
- 51:06Or Hashem.
- 51:07Yes.
- 51:08So even that is sad that he is not anymore physically in this world and with us, and we cannot see his smile, of his jokes, but he left a legacy, and that legacy is what stays in us.
- 51:33And that is his message to us, and his co- hope for us to continue his way and be there, and united, and continue having you.
- 51:46You have a beautiful community.
- 51:49It's a community of what, that we call of ahdut.
- 51:53Ahdut is of unity.
- 51:56Each one loves the other.
- 51:59There is no politics in, in your community.
- 52:04So that is so beautiful.
- 52:08This is a gift of Hashem, so- It really is it is, it is incredible what you have.
- 52:14Mm-hmm.
- 52:14Mm-hmm.
- 52:15You have to treasure it.
- 52:16Every- Every day every day, every moment- Mm-hmm that we have.
- 52:22Wonderful.
- 52:23Thank you so much.
- 52:25Thank you, everyone.
- 52:26If you have any other commentary, I have time.
- 52:30If not, I go to the meditation that I prepare for you.
- 52:36Any, any words?
- 52:37Any, Anita, anything more to say?
- 52:39Yashira, Dr.
- 52:41Yun, Natalie, Renee?
- 52:46No, I just wanna say how much, I, and I think all of us, appreciate this class so much, and looking forward to more of it in the new year.
- 52:57So thank you.
- 52:59Ezrat Hashem.
- 52:59Thank you so much.
- 53:02Okay, so the meditation that I have is a very interesting meditation, is the flowing of Hashem lights into our world, and it's through three names of Hashem.
- 53:23The first name is the name EYHE, that is alef, he, yud, he, that is the w- a name that g- gave Hashem to Moshe, uh, on the, uh, under the bush, burning bush.
- 53:44And then the name Adni that represent the name of the din, the judgment of this world.
- 53:53But the name Adni has the yud, because the yud is the name of Hashem.
- 53:58And then the yud he vav he is always in, in the middle is in, is the essence.
- 54:09So in other words, the, uh, the, uh, the...
- 54:12I- in order to receive something, we need a source of energy, we need a recipient, and we need a tools to pour the energy.
- 54:27So the energy is the Yud-Heh-Vav-He.
- 54:35The, uh, the, uh, the recipients is the name Adni.
- 54:40And the bottle that contains the, uh, the Yud-Heh-Vav-He is the, the, uh, is the word of EHEYE.
- 54:50He, Yud, Eheye, a, a Yud, He.
- 54:58So that is the meditation.
- 55:00So this meditation form this, Yihud, that is Yud-Alef-Alef-Heh-Dalet-He-Vav-Nun-Yud-Heh-Yud-He.
- 55:12So we have in the, the Yud, you have here, the first letter is Yud.
- 55:21The sec- uh, in, in Yud-Alef-Alef.
- 55:25The f- second letter is Heh, in the Heh-Dalet-He.
- 55:30The third letter is the Vav, in the Vav-Nun-Yud.
- 55:33And the fourth letter is the last He of Yud-Heh-Vav-He.
- 55:33You see that Yud-Heh-Vav-He are at the beginning.
- 55:46Then you have in the center the recipient.
- 55:51The recipient is Adni, Alef-Dalet-Nun-Yud.
- 55:57And then is Eheye, that is Alef-Heh-Yud-He.
- 56:03So that form this, this, a interwind of those three names.
- 56:16So we close our eyes Ah, and breathe and relax.
- 56:25And we let go.
- 56:28We are here in front of Hashem, and Hashem is bringing his light, and you see his light coming down like a flow of beautiful energy.
- 56:45We are protected in a Magen David, and the name is, is written in a Magen David that is in front of us.
- 56:58Yud Alef Alef He Dalet He Vav Nun Yud He Yud He.
- 57:09The light unites in only one light, and this light is attracted to our Magen David, penetrates our skull, enter into our brain, descend to our hearts, illuminates the heart.
- 57:29And from the heart, goes to every cell of our body, and descend finally to the liver, the organ that has the energy, gravitational energy.
- 57:46There, it stay there.
- 57:49But the light return to the heart, and from the heart to, to the brain, and those are the two dimension that we have, our emotion and our thought.
- 58:01And the light goes up and down, up and down, heart, brain, heart, brain, heart, brain, heart, brain, heart, brain, heart, brain.
- 58:10The light is so intense that we cannot contain.
- 58:16And in front of us, we have Three spiritual being that will testify our meditation.
- 58:24Malach Metatron, Malach Sandalphon, and Moshiach.
- 58:29And we feel that union.
- 58:32We feel how this light is entering through us and exceeding us, and going out, and be shared with all of us.
- 58:48Being shared with the whole world.
- 58:53That the world will dispel, will remove all the hate, all of the harms, all the wars that exist today.
- 59:06And our leaders, the leaders of the world will understand who is Hashem, and they will recognize Hashem as the only king, the only reason to exist, and that Hashem is our shepherd.
- 59:29Hashem is what nourishes us.
- 59:33Hashem is inside us.
- 59:36Every human being has a s- spark of holiness.
- 59:41Every creation that exists, even a blade of grass, has the same energy.
- 59:53Everything is there.
- 59:55Everyone, in different levels, that is the energy of God that bring us, that wants us, that we will make a change, but a change come, must come from us to renovate the world, to create a rebirth of the world.
- 1:00:20These packages of goodness and good energy are for the whole world.
- 1:00:29We only need to open our channels and receive them through good action, through good mitzvot, and through the study of the recognition of Hashem kingdoms.
- 1:00:48Thank you very much.
- 1:00:49Thank you, Hashem, for allow me to do this mitzvah of giving you the understanding of the essence of Rosh Hashanah
