- 1:31Speaker 1: your First Week is Completely Free. We're on episode two
- 1:34Speaker 1: and as mentioned, this episode is titled Hanging by a Moment,
- 1:38Speaker 1: and that is a Lifehouse song from the year two thousand.
- 1:43Speaker 2: Yeah, there's some interesting lyrics in this song. In that
- 1:48Speaker 2: song Hanging by a Moment, Man, I remember that being
- 1:50Speaker 2: like a jam in two thousand totally, but I thought
- 1:54Speaker 2: these were relevant to the episode. Are you ready for it?
- 1:58Speaker 1: Bring it?
- 1:59Speaker 2: Desperate for changing, starving for truth. I'm closer to where
- 2:04Speaker 2: I started. I'm chasing after you.
- 2:07Speaker 1: Oh wow. Gempike In obviously must have a hand in
- 2:13Speaker 1: the naming of these episodes as well. She's the music
- 2:16Speaker 1: director what's the word, supervisorsor thank you? She's got to
- 2:21Speaker 1: have a hand in these right because she knows the lyrics.
- 2:23Speaker 1: She just they work so perfectly every time.
- 2:26Speaker 2: Unless the writers of this show are just very in
- 2:31Speaker 2: tune with creating these narratives that go along with the music,
- 2:36Speaker 2: I don't know, but I love it.
- 2:38Speaker 1: I think it's clear that this is a show whose
- 2:41Speaker 1: writers know their pop culture. They make a lot of references,
- 2:46Speaker 1: so it's not outlandish to think that it's the writing
- 2:49Speaker 1: team as well. It's some fun pop culture references this
- 2:52Speaker 1: week as well. Yeah, this episode was also directed by
- 2:57Speaker 1: Grant Harvey, who was our director from episode one as well.
- 3:02Speaker 2: I have some ratings news ratings from this season premiere episode.
- 3:07Speaker 2: According to a press release from Hallmark Media, the premiere
- 3:10Speaker 2: was the number two most watch entertainment cable program of
- 3:14Speaker 2: the week among women eighteen to fifty five, second only
- 3:20Speaker 2: two Hallmark Channel's all new original movie premiere, Betty's Bad
- 3:23Speaker 2: Luck in Love.
- 3:25Speaker 1: I'd say it's safe to say these are doing pretty well.
- 3:28Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:29Speaker 1: If you don't have regular cable, if you don't get
- 3:31Speaker 1: the Hallmark Channel, you can watch these on Peacock if
- 3:35Speaker 1: you're a subscriber, and you can also subscribe to the
- 3:37Speaker 1: Hallmark Movies Now app where they air the next day.
- 3:40Speaker 1: And you can also subscribe to Friendly. You don't need
- 3:43Speaker 1: all three of those subscriptions, but that's where you can
- 3:47Speaker 1: find them if you have any of those subscriptions. The
- 3:48Speaker 1: Way home is there?
- 3:50Speaker 2: Would you like a synopsis for episode tu all Right?
- 3:54Speaker 2: Dale considers the future of the Landry farm. Kat searches
- 3:58Speaker 2: for answers through the past. Alice tries to make peace
- 4:01Speaker 2: with Elliott.
- 4:03Speaker 1: Hey, that's a great synopsis. Pretty simple. Should we start
- 4:07Speaker 1: with Dell? Sure? She well, all of a sudden season two,
- 4:12Speaker 1: we've got all this land to deal with, and there's
- 4:15Speaker 1: some secrecy. There's something happening with this land. She wants
- 4:19Speaker 1: to turn it into community garden situation where let's give
- 4:23Speaker 1: going back to the community, inspired a little bit by
- 4:27Speaker 1: Alice saying Spencer wants to start a restaurant and use
- 4:30Speaker 1: Dell's produce.
- 4:32Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't get how we're getting there, but like,
- 4:37Speaker 2: I'm more interested in what's happening there, Do.
- 4:40Speaker 1: You know what I mean? Yes? Right? Like, why is
- 4:42Speaker 1: this such a big deal? Why? Obviously it's meant to
- 4:45Speaker 1: be a secret, because at the end of the episode,
- 4:47Speaker 1: when her former tenant pulls up and spills the beans
- 4:50Speaker 1: to Alice, it's clearly meant to be a secret that
- 4:54Speaker 1: Alice has stumbled upon something. Sure, what's going on? And
- 4:58Speaker 1: the town turns her down? Why did the town care? Weird? Right?
- 5:04Speaker 2: What I don't understand is why does she need town.
- 5:06Speaker 1: Approval to grow and sell something that she grows on
- 5:10Speaker 1: her land? Yeah? I don't know either. Did they have
- 5:13Speaker 1: to approve her bees? I don't know.
- 5:16Speaker 2: Like I said, I don't really care about the motivation
- 5:18Speaker 2: behind it. I'm just more interested. Actually, this is what
- 5:23Speaker 2: I am most interested in. Is this conversation that she
- 5:25Speaker 2: has with Colton out in the farm fields. Hmmm, after
- 5:29Speaker 2: her proposal is turned down by the town and he
- 5:33Speaker 2: said she's like talking to his ghost. I don't know,
- 5:37Speaker 2: but he tells her she must tell Cat the truth,
- 5:41Speaker 2: no more secrets, don't repeat the past, and don't let
- 5:44Speaker 2: pride get in the way like it did before. What
- 5:47Speaker 2: the hell is Coulton referring to so many more questions
- 5:51Speaker 2: than answers times And I loved it because Dell looked content.
- 5:56Speaker 2: She was like, Yeah, I'm gonna go with that plan. Obviously,
- 5:58Speaker 2: she goes to the Herald to talk to Cat.
- 6:00Speaker 1: And then doesn't see it through.
- 6:02Speaker 2: But what what?
- 6:04Speaker 1: What? Why doesn't she see it through? Is the perfect
- 6:07Speaker 1: opportunity because whatever secret she has, Kat is investigating, for
- 6:11Speaker 1: lack of a better word, the family so she can
- 6:14Speaker 1: write their family history. Why not give her an accurate
- 6:17Speaker 1: picture of what she's looking at.
- 6:19Speaker 2: I don't know. Maybe she's here, I am. I'm gonna
- 6:21Speaker 2: tell her about time traveling, and she's writing a book
- 6:24Speaker 2: about her family history, and we can't be exposing this
- 6:28Speaker 2: time travel miss book.
- 6:31Speaker 1: I don't know. Maybe, Okay, I know we're not of
- 6:34Speaker 1: the questions. But here's the other thing. If Dell knows
- 6:38Speaker 1: about time travel, which I suspect she does, how is
- 6:44Speaker 1: she not aware that Cat and Alice have been time traveling?
- 6:48Speaker 1: Or how is she ignoring it? That's what I don't
- 6:52Speaker 1: so many more questions. Okay, I think she knows. It's
- 6:56Speaker 1: obvious to me because Kat's disappeared for a few days,
- 6:59Speaker 1: and I think she knows. But maybe it's just normal.
- 7:04Speaker 1: So she's not gonna girl. I don't know, and she's
- 7:07Speaker 1: not worried about what disaster is awaiting them. If she
- 7:11Speaker 1: knows about it, she has to know that trouble is
- 7:14Speaker 1: a ruin.
- 7:15Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 7:16Speaker 1: Speaking of trouble, should we talk about Kat.
- 7:19Speaker 2: Sure, she's being cared for by Susannah Augustine, but it's
- 7:23Speaker 2: a man named Thomas who's like angry.
- 7:27Speaker 1: Yeah, another question is why is Thomas so angry? Is
- 7:29Speaker 1: another question I have. But yes, Susannah Augustine, I believe
- 7:33Speaker 1: we'reed to assume that is an ancestor of Elliot Augustine.
- 7:37Speaker 1: What's the connection there? And this woman and Thomas wants
- 7:41Speaker 1: her kept alive, but he's angry about it, but he
- 7:44Speaker 1: wants her kept a secret. And she's in the basement
- 7:48Speaker 1: of a building which we will come to find out
- 7:50Speaker 1: love This connection is the Point General Store, which then
- 7:54Speaker 1: goes on to become Monica's The Point.
- 7:57Speaker 2: And now it's cute and like that. It was originally
- 7:59Speaker 2: called that. When Kat basically like wakes up and goes
- 8:05Speaker 2: down into the st or goes up into the store,
- 8:08Speaker 2: I imagined her in an attic for some reason, he said,
- 8:12Speaker 2: But whatever, where was she being hid at? And she
- 8:15Speaker 2: goes into the store and then passes out. She sees
- 8:17Speaker 2: like the almanac and like, obviously she's not well from
- 8:21Speaker 2: her wound. But later on, when she like escapes and
- 8:24Speaker 2: she's like running through town, is this Thomas who is
- 8:28Speaker 2: like stalking her down the one with the gun.
- 8:32Speaker 1: It looks like Thomas is chasing her, But then she
- 8:34Speaker 1: is also intercepted by a second man who says, like,
- 8:39Speaker 1: why are you running away from Cyrus Goodman? You should
- 8:43Speaker 1: know better.
- 8:44Speaker 2: Correction, it's actually Goodwin. I did.
- 8:47Speaker 1: That's actually what I wrote.
- 8:48Speaker 2: I did.
- 8:48Speaker 1: Look, yeah, he's how are you?
- 8:50Speaker 2: Why are you talking to Cyrus Goodwin like this and
- 8:52Speaker 2: then asks like, why are you running through my town?
- 8:56Speaker 2: And they did say, like the Goodwins were like the
- 8:58Speaker 2: founding people of the town, so I can imagine like
- 9:01Speaker 2: he's you know, he's the big man.
- 9:05Speaker 1: It's a lot of pay attention to me lines, and
- 9:07Speaker 1: they're like, why what are you running away from? Cyrus Goodwin?
- 9:11Speaker 1: For right, my name is Susannah Augusty. Yeah.
- 9:15Speaker 2: Yeah, Obviously this episode is really established estab Oh my god,
- 9:20Speaker 2: I can't even say it, establishing those characters from the
- 9:24Speaker 2: eighteen fourteen Yes, from the eighteen fourteen Yes.
- 9:27Speaker 1: And they want you to be very clear about what's
- 9:30Speaker 1: happening here, which I appreciate. Not everybody is paying attention
- 9:33Speaker 1: to this show with pen and paper in hand.
- 9:36Speaker 2: So luckily Susannah Augustine snatches Alice up on horseback. They
- 9:41Speaker 2: ride off. Kat says, you got to deliver me back.
- 9:43Speaker 1: To the pond. She takes her there.
- 9:46Speaker 2: Susannah, not even bothered, like why am I dropping you
- 9:50Speaker 2: off at the pond, doesn't even question it.
- 9:52Speaker 1: Seriously, this is where your friend that you're looking for
- 9:55Speaker 1: is waiting.
- 9:56Speaker 2: I'm like, do they know it's a time traveling portal?
- 10:00Speaker 2: As well, I don't know more questions. This is the
- 10:04Speaker 2: greatest part is that Susanna asks, you're asking about a name, Alice,
- 10:09Speaker 2: and you're asking about Jacob Landry. How do you know
- 10:12Speaker 2: Jacob Landry? And cat mind blowing? Is Jacob's here?
- 10:17Speaker 1: Jacob?
- 10:17Speaker 2: Where can I find Jacob? Susannah tells Kat that there
- 10:22Speaker 2: is a she calls him little Jacob, and he is
- 10:25Speaker 2: at the Landry farm. Now my question is, like, who's
- 10:29Speaker 2: taking care of Jacob Landry? Is it Elijah and Rebecca
- 10:35Speaker 2: Landry who we haven't yet met yet?
- 10:38Speaker 1: Is it truly the Jacob she's looking for? So in
- 10:43Speaker 1: our later segment that did we find Jacob section, my
- 10:46Speaker 1: answer is maybe, right, Is it possible there's a second
- 10:51Speaker 1: Jacob Landry in the mix and then it's not our
- 10:54Speaker 1: Jacob Landry because that opens a whole other can of
- 10:58Speaker 1: worms of this child appeared out of nowhere and now
- 11:01Speaker 1: he's being cared for by the Landries. She called him
- 11:04Speaker 1: Jacob Landry, So would he have that last name if
- 11:08Speaker 1: he wasn't their actual child? There's ah so many questions, y'all.
- 11:14Speaker 1: Do you suspect that it is actual Jacob? No?
- 11:17Speaker 2: And that's too easy, too easy, yeah, too easy.
- 11:21Speaker 1: Alice's big storyline is that she just makes the decision herself.
- 11:24Speaker 1: Apparently fifteen year olds can decide this that she's not
- 11:27Speaker 1: going to spend the summer with her dad. She's going
- 11:29Speaker 1: to stay because she suspects Dell might leave her because
- 11:32Speaker 1: her mother is just going to be randomly disappearing into
- 11:34Speaker 1: the pond.
- 11:36Speaker 2: And I think she's truly worried about Dell being lonely
- 11:39Speaker 2: and alone.
- 11:41Speaker 1: I think so too, But I am surprised by the
- 11:47Speaker 1: ease with which the adults let her make this choice.
- 11:50Speaker 2: Come on, girl, they can't this is their main character.
- 11:52Speaker 2: They can't have her go off to Minneapolis. I underst Dan,
- 11:55Speaker 2: but there's no pushback. The dad is disappointed, but not actually,
- 11:59Speaker 2: this isn't your choice. And Kat comes in after being
- 12:03Speaker 2: told that Alice is staying and doesn't even say we
- 12:06Speaker 2: should talk about this, She just asks her motivation. Obviously
- 12:09Speaker 2: Alice needs to be here. It just is a little
- 12:11Speaker 2: bit too easy.
- 12:12Speaker 1: She's like, not, Dad, I'm good, I haven't seen you
- 12:14Speaker 1: in a year, but I'm still not coming home.
- 12:18Speaker 2: Yeah, but do you want to see them go down
- 12:20Speaker 2: that road of Brady getting pissed off that Alice isn't
- 12:23Speaker 2: there blah blah blah blah.
- 12:24Speaker 1: Nope, I don't care, No, just move on to the inevitable.
- 12:27Speaker 1: Know Alice has got to be here all summer long.
- 12:29Speaker 2: Oh For me, personally, I think Elliott is like the
- 12:32Speaker 2: biggest jerk throughout this entire episode. Worse, he makes me
- 12:37Speaker 2: not like him. And I was like rooting so hard
- 12:40Speaker 2: for him last year, like reconnecting with Cat and blah
- 12:43Speaker 2: blah blah, and now I'm like, why are you such
- 12:45Speaker 2: a condescending dickhead?
- 12:48Speaker 1: I agree, I don't like Elliott, but I do like
- 12:50Speaker 1: his storyline. I like the drama that it's bringing to
- 12:53Speaker 1: the episode and the additional conflict. It's shifting the conflict
- 12:57Speaker 1: because season one there was a lot of conflicts in
- 13:00Speaker 1: Cat and Dell, and Dell was constantly disappointed in Cat,
- 13:04Speaker 1: and Dell seems to have softened a little bit towards
- 13:08Speaker 1: her daughter. She's still tough. I'm not just carrying that
- 13:12Speaker 1: conflict out forever, and so I like the shifting over here.
- 13:17Speaker 1: I don't like Elliott. I don't want this to be
- 13:19Speaker 1: who he is, and I particularly don't like that he's
- 13:23Speaker 1: like you ruined it. Colton was like a father to me,
- 13:27Speaker 1: and you just made it worse. Yeah, that was tough,
- 13:31Speaker 1: And thinking about this, he really seems to be upset
- 13:36Speaker 1: that she never understood how hard it was for him
- 13:39Speaker 1: to lose Coulton. Seems like I lost somebody too. But
- 13:42Speaker 1: here's the deal. It's not Cat's responsibility to manage.
- 13:46Speaker 2: That for you.
- 13:47Speaker 1: She's closer to the loss. She doesn't have to manage
- 13:50Speaker 1: anybody else's heartbreak.
- 13:52Speaker 2: Part of me understands the Landry's were like essentially his family,
- 13:56Speaker 2: and then Colton dies or Jacob goes me seen Colton dies,
- 14:01Speaker 2: Kat leaves with Brady, and he doesn't have anybody anymore.
- 14:05Speaker 2: He has Dell, and obviously their relationship is close throughout
- 14:09Speaker 2: the years. But for him to blame Cat and or
- 14:13Speaker 2: Alice is so unfair.
- 14:16Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I wonder Towards the end of season one,
- 14:20Speaker 1: he was so desperate to get Kat to stop time traveling,
- 14:24Speaker 1: stop jumping in the pond stuff, knowing what he knows
- 14:27Speaker 1: that she was responsible for Colton's death. Assuming he knew that,
- 14:32Speaker 1: do you think that's more his motivation? If you don't
- 14:35Speaker 1: keep going back, you're not going to cause this car
- 14:38Speaker 1: accident that's going to take Colton away not you got
- 14:43Speaker 1: to stop. This is crazy because to me in season one,
- 14:46Speaker 1: his motivation seemed like, you're obsessed with this. You have
- 14:48Speaker 1: to stop. It's not healthy, No good is going to
- 14:50Speaker 1: come from it. And now looking at it from this perspective,
- 14:53Speaker 1: I think, is he just so angry because we're getting
- 14:58Speaker 1: so much more of his connection to the Landry's as
- 15:01Speaker 1: a family and a little bit of a glimpse into
- 15:03Speaker 1: how maybe his home life wasn't great, that maybe he
- 15:06Speaker 1: was like, you wouldn't listen, and you still took Colton.
- 15:10Speaker 2: Away from me. I'm not sure.
- 15:13Speaker 1: Regardless, it still makes me angry. I don't know.
- 15:16Speaker 2: I don't know. And we also learned in this episode
- 15:19Speaker 2: that he's keeping it a secret that Alice returns to
- 15:22Speaker 2: two thousand. We see his journal entry. Yes, I paused it.
- 15:26Speaker 2: I read it.
- 15:27Speaker 1: I can read as much as I could. Some of
- 15:29Speaker 1: it was hard to read.
- 15:30Speaker 2: Yeah, I could only really see the first paragraph. When
- 15:32Speaker 2: it got down to the second and third paragraph, it
- 15:34Speaker 2: got real fuzzies and it was basically, just what the hell,
- 15:37Speaker 2: how is she back? It's been four months? Yeah.
- 15:41Speaker 1: I liked the page before that because it was there
- 15:43Speaker 1: was a paragraph in there about Alice's visit when she
- 15:46Speaker 1: breaks up with Nick. I don't know if you read it,
- 15:49Speaker 1: and he's finally it was getting a little bit weird.
- 15:51Speaker 1: What does she think was going to happen? Obviously they
- 15:53Speaker 1: needed to break up, and something about how he's trying
- 15:56Speaker 1: to console him. Trust me, this is for the best.
- 16:00Speaker 1: It's a nice attention to detail there, and whoever wrote
- 16:02Speaker 1: that journal has very nice handwriting.
- 16:04Speaker 2: Oh you're funny. I didn't read that page, but that's interesting.
- 16:09Speaker 2: Now tell me, though, why is he keeping it a
- 16:12Speaker 2: secret that Alice comes back?
- 16:14Speaker 1: I would love to know that.
- 16:17Speaker 2: And to wrap up that scene, Kat comes to the house.
- 16:21Speaker 2: They have like their big blowout, and I love when
- 16:23Speaker 2: Kat's watch me fix this. I love that she got
- 16:27Speaker 2: in his face. I just loved that.
- 16:29Speaker 1: Let's talk about what else we liked. Okay, go ahead,
- 16:33Speaker 1: I have just a few other little moments. We get
- 16:35Speaker 1: a little bit more information. At the Lingamore estate, Cat
- 16:40Speaker 1: and Alice are going to go and everybody ends up there.
- 16:42Speaker 1: Elliott's there, dell is there, Cat and Alice by the painting.
- 16:45Speaker 1: Cat also buys the gun, which potentially is the old
- 16:49Speaker 1: timey gun that was used to shoot her. What was
- 16:51Speaker 1: really interesting about this scene is there's a moment Elliott
- 16:55Speaker 1: is staring at the stairs and he has a auditory flashback,
- 16:59Speaker 1: And if you turned on the captions, I really appreciated
- 17:02Speaker 1: the captions labeled the voices as Brady, Elliott and Cat
- 17:07Speaker 1: having an argument. Something happened at the Lincolmore State more
- 17:11Speaker 1: questions but involving our key players.
- 17:16Speaker 2: Yeah, in my head, I'm envisioning there was like a
- 17:20Speaker 2: party there and there was like some sort of argument.
- 17:23Speaker 2: And I had to do with the water space out
- 17:27Speaker 2: on the property, like it's like a fountain. I don't know.
- 17:31Speaker 2: You should see, Reddit man. There are some wild theories
- 17:33Speaker 2: about this fountain, and there's a statue in it, and
- 17:36Speaker 2: is the fountain time travel? It's all over the place.
- 17:42Speaker 2: What else did you like?
- 17:43Speaker 1: You mentioned Colton, and I like that they found a
- 17:47Speaker 1: way to keep Jefferson Brown in this show, even as
- 17:52Speaker 1: ghost Coulton, I'll take it. I like his sweet moments
- 17:56Speaker 1: with Dell. Obviously, they can't keep going back to a
- 18:00Speaker 1: in which he is alive, and so we've kept him
- 18:03Speaker 1: involved in the show. We've kept his influence on Dell
- 18:06Speaker 1: involved in the show. I like that well done. I agree.
- 18:11Speaker 1: I also thought it was a very funny one. Elliot
- 18:12Speaker 1: was at his MP three player and says, oh, holds
- 18:14Speaker 1: twenty five songs.
- 18:15Speaker 2: I laughed out loud.
- 18:17Speaker 1: I did do a little Google searching, and this is
- 18:21Speaker 1: the time, late nineties they started to become available. I
- 18:27Speaker 1: don't ever remember a mass marketed MP three player that
- 18:32Speaker 1: only held twenty five songs, but maybe the very very
- 18:37Speaker 1: early ones were that small. Yeah, well, you're swapping out
- 18:41Speaker 1: CD by CD every single time. Yeah, I don't know.
- 18:44Speaker 2: I do remember when I got my first iPod and
- 18:46Speaker 2: how awesome that.
- 18:47Speaker 1: I was like, Wow, hold so many songs? It's crazy.
- 18:50Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, it was exactly What else did you like?
- 18:54Speaker 2: I enjoyed the Giles Buffy line? Yeah, again, it was
- 18:59Speaker 2: used in season one. I just like it because I
- 19:01Speaker 2: loved Buffy. But I was like, really, you couldn't come
- 19:03Speaker 2: up with something else that was clever. Let's move on
- 19:08Speaker 2: to unsolved mysteries, and we've touched it throughout this episode.
- 19:12Speaker 2: But I have a huge.
- 19:13Speaker 1: List, me too, a huge list.
- 19:17Speaker 2: I do think this episode was a lot about a
- 19:19Speaker 2: sap god. Why am I so hung up on that
- 19:21Speaker 2: wor today? Setting the groundwork?
- 19:23Speaker 1: Nice?
- 19:24Speaker 2: Why are you making fun of me?
- 19:26Speaker 1: I'm not making fun of you. I'm impressed how quickly
- 19:29Speaker 1: you pivoted to a different word.
- 19:31Speaker 2: But I still have a lot of questions and not
- 19:33Speaker 2: a lot of so many ers.
- 19:35Speaker 1: I kept my original list here and then added on
- 19:37Speaker 1: to it just to see if we got any answers,
- 19:40Speaker 1: starting with the horse. Look, we see the horse in
- 19:43Speaker 1: eighteen fourteen. It is the vehicle by which kat is rescued.
- 19:46Speaker 1: But I still don't have any answers about why this
- 19:49Speaker 1: horse continues to visit Dell. Is the horse jumping in
- 19:52Speaker 1: the pond. It still remains a mystery to what the
- 19:55Speaker 1: horse is doing in the present day.
- 19:58Speaker 2: It certainly is a mystery as somebody jumping in the
- 20:02Speaker 2: pond with the horse coming to present day, I don't know.
- 20:06Speaker 1: Don't you think the horse being a horse would be like?
- 20:09Speaker 1: What the hell is happening here? Absolutely a barn was
- 20:14Speaker 1: not there? Where is my hay?
- 20:17Speaker 2: I'm like, if a horse can travel, why can't a
- 20:19Speaker 2: dinosaur travel? Do you know what I mean?
- 20:21Speaker 1: What is happening here? Yes? What's to stop any Why
- 20:25Speaker 1: are the fish in the pond not just like randomly
- 20:28Speaker 1: zapping back and forth?
- 20:30Speaker 2: And I believe somebody maybe in our Facebook group or
- 20:32Speaker 2: read it had a theory that Jacob was now the horse,
- 20:36Speaker 2: and I was like, oh, you can't go there, go there.
- 20:40Speaker 2: My brain cannot make it understand any of that. Anyway.
- 20:45Speaker 1: Do we have an answer to who was lurking in
- 20:46Speaker 1: the bushes during the firework set in the past? The
- 20:48Speaker 1: answer is still no. Nope, we do have an answer
- 20:52Speaker 1: at the end of the episode when Cat and end
- 20:55Speaker 1: of episode one. Excuse me, when Cat and Noalys get
- 20:57Speaker 1: ripped apart in time, I thought she went back to
- 20:59Speaker 1: the nineties. You thought Elliott had traveled to the present.
- 21:02Speaker 1: We did learn that Alice was in the nineties. We did.
- 21:05Speaker 1: We don't have any evidence of Elliot time traveling, yet
- 21:09Speaker 1: I feel like it's coming.
- 21:11Speaker 2: I feel like it's coming.
- 21:12Speaker 1: Do we know the providence of the Cat portrait?
- 21:14Speaker 2: We do not. No, And I did like in this
- 21:18Speaker 2: episode that they go back to it and Alice is
- 21:22Speaker 2: convinced that Cat must have spent time in eighteen fourteen,
- 21:26Speaker 2: enough time to have her portrait painted and to become
- 21:29Speaker 2: someone's my Catherine, so indeed, she must have established some
- 21:34Speaker 2: sort of relationship there. I don't know how they are
- 21:37Speaker 2: going to do that, though, because how is she going
- 21:40Speaker 2: to just be gone in eighteen fourteen.
- 21:43Speaker 1: For that long, right, because pass is in the present
- 21:45Speaker 1: at the same speed which passes in the past. Yes,
- 21:48Speaker 1: that's a great question. I keep wondering. Is she just
- 21:51Speaker 1: going to stumble across a Landry relative and she's oh,
- 21:56Speaker 1: Rebecca Landry looks just like me. Maybe then they call
- 22:00Speaker 1: her Catherine. That's confusing.
- 22:02Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 22:03Speaker 1: Do we know what happened at the Lincomore State?
- 22:05Speaker 2: We do not. We will eventually.
- 22:08Speaker 1: New question. Yes, what's the deal with the soil? There's
- 22:13Speaker 1: multiple references to the Landry soil?
- 22:17Speaker 2: Yes, I don't what you got in your soil?
- 22:20Speaker 1: Deugh, I don't know, no idea. It has to have
- 22:24Speaker 1: some relevance.
- 22:26Speaker 2: I agree. They showed it numerous times and talked about
- 22:29Speaker 2: it numerous times, but I don't know. My question is
- 22:34Speaker 2: what does Through the Looking Glass book have to do
- 22:37Speaker 2: with any of this?
- 22:38Speaker 1: Now?
- 22:39Speaker 2: Is there any relevance?
- 22:41Speaker 1: There has to be, because that's the book the young
- 22:44Speaker 1: cat was reading Alice Founded in her Room, Oh in
- 22:49Speaker 1: season one? Wait?
- 22:53Speaker 2: Is that the actual original title of that book, Through the.
- 22:56Speaker 1: Looking I thought Through the Looking Glasses that Alice in
- 22:58Speaker 1: Wonderland sequel.
- 22:59Speaker 2: I think it is, and Dell tells her this is
- 23:02Speaker 2: the sequel or something like that.
- 23:04Speaker 1: Yes, it felt very loaded when Dell slides the book
- 23:09Speaker 1: across to the alley, here's your sequel. What's happening? People
- 23:14Speaker 1: need to start communicating. Yeah, of course I would like
- 23:18Speaker 1: to know what Dell was gonna tell Kat. What's the
- 23:20Speaker 1: big secret that Colton wanted her to tell that she
- 23:22Speaker 1: was about to tell in the Herald and chickened out.
- 23:27Speaker 2: It's got to be time travel. I'm standing for him
- 23:29Speaker 2: on it. If it's not, my head might explode. I
- 23:32Speaker 2: don't know.
- 23:33Speaker 1: I have zero other guesses. And of course, what's the
- 23:37Speaker 1: Landry tie to the Goodwin family? There's more there in
- 23:42Speaker 1: the past and in the present. There's definitely more there.
- 23:45Speaker 2: They have that founder's book and then they find that
- 23:48Speaker 2: old copy of it at Lingamore, and Dell says, oh,
- 23:50Speaker 2: Colton had a warn copy. Why does Colton have a copy?
- 23:55Speaker 2: Oh he is a landry, Yeah he's Oh that's he's
- 23:59Speaker 2: the Landry.
- 24:00Speaker 1: He's the Landry.
- 24:01Speaker 2: Right.
- 24:01Speaker 1: I was thinking, Dell is the Landry.
- 24:03Speaker 2: Dude, A light bulb literally, if you just saw me,
- 24:05Speaker 2: just went off over my head.
- 24:07Speaker 1: He is the Landry? Yeah? Oh my god? Is he
- 24:14Speaker 1: time traveling. He is time traveling, but how does that work?
- 24:18Speaker 1: I don't wait, Maybe.
- 24:21Speaker 2: Dell doesn't actually have the ability to time travel, but
- 24:24Speaker 2: since they come through land, or that's why Kat can
- 24:29Speaker 2: and Alice can.
- 24:31Speaker 1: Yeah, it can only women time travel. I don't know, no,
- 24:35Speaker 1: because we think Elliot time travels. Also, last week's episode,
- 24:40Speaker 1: we didn't mention this I dropped in. I thought was
- 24:45Speaker 1: like a big bombshell. I no longer think it is.
- 24:47Speaker 1: I was like, I think Elliott was time traveling on
- 24:49Speaker 1: his trip, but now I'm not so sure because in
- 24:52Speaker 1: this episode, Dell mentions that Elliott visited with his father
- 24:56Speaker 1: when he was in Mexico, and we're getting some bits
- 24:58Speaker 1: and pieces about Elliot's childhood. We got it in season
- 25:01Speaker 1: one when Colton's telling Elliott, oh, we put lighting up
- 25:04Speaker 1: in the barn so you can be there even when
- 25:06Speaker 1: at night and even when the kids aren't here or whatever.
- 25:10Speaker 1: Something was not great. It seems about Elliott's childhood and
- 25:13Speaker 1: home life, and he doesn't seem to have a great
- 25:15Speaker 1: relationship with his family now, so there's more questions for
- 25:19Speaker 1: me there. And then finally did we find Jacob. Obviously,
- 25:24Speaker 1: the answer is maybe I suspect it's too easy.
- 25:28Speaker 2: I think it's too easy. There's just no way.
- 25:31Speaker 1: But what's he gonna do? He's gonna be like Cat
- 25:34Speaker 1: when they see each other. No, it doesn't make sense.
- 25:38Speaker 1: There's too many questions.
- 25:39Speaker 2: Yeah, he's not gonna know that's Cat his sister Cat. Yeah,
- 25:44Speaker 2: I don't know. If tell me how that's gonna work.
- 25:46Speaker 2: She's gonna find him and they're gonna jump back in
- 25:47Speaker 2: the pond. And now this boy who's been missing for
- 25:50Speaker 2: how many years is going to come back the same age.
- 25:53Speaker 2: That's not gonna work. Nope. How are they gonna figure
- 25:56Speaker 2: this one out?
- 25:58Speaker 1: No? But then they don't get to con where the
- 26:00Speaker 1: pond takes them? Right? Yes, So if you take that
- 26:03Speaker 1: theory and you're like, she takes Jacob to the pond,
- 26:06Speaker 1: where's the pond gonna take them? If it's going to
- 26:08Speaker 1: take them to present day, is it gonna take them
- 26:09Speaker 1: to nineteen ninety nine when he disappeared? It's gonna take
- 26:12Speaker 1: them them some nebulous point in between. Yeah, it's not
- 26:15Speaker 1: like a Dolorean. You can't just set it and take
- 26:18Speaker 1: off one twenty one jiggawatts. Yeah, all right, are you
- 26:24Speaker 1: ready for Piking? Does it again? Yeah? A little bit
- 26:27Speaker 1: lighter on the music this episode. Agree just two songs,
- 26:31Speaker 1: How's it Gonna be?
- 26:32Speaker 2: By third, I'd blind a nineteen ninety seven hit for them.
- 26:38Speaker 1: Hilariously. I was looking at some recaps of this episode
- 26:42Speaker 1: just to see if I had missed anything, and one
- 26:45Speaker 1: credited that song as three Doors Down Kryptonite, and I
- 26:47Speaker 1: was like, no, no, three Doors Down. They just they
- 26:50Speaker 1: got their threes. Yeah wrong, three band huh wrong?
- 26:56Speaker 2: You know what I did notice when they were playing
- 26:58Speaker 2: that song, a lot of it was and behind Elliott
- 27:02Speaker 2: and Alice talking to each other. And then when they
- 27:05Speaker 2: finally put the earphones in, the lyrics at play are
- 27:08Speaker 2: I wonder how it's going to be when you don't
- 27:10Speaker 2: know me?
- 27:11Speaker 1: How is it going to be.
- 27:12Speaker 2: When you're sure I'm not there? So I think it
- 27:16Speaker 2: was a nice choice, well done to put in this episode.
- 27:21Speaker 1: Excellent.
- 27:22Speaker 2: The second song one I've never heard of before, No
- 27:25Speaker 2: but real, pretty.
- 27:27Speaker 1: Super pretty.
- 27:28Speaker 2: I love that he played it on vinyl two. It's
- 27:30Speaker 2: called let You Go, and I think it's pronounced wild.
- 27:34Speaker 1: Yeah that's me too.
- 27:36Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a song from twenty twenty. She is an
- 27:40Speaker 2: English singer.
- 27:42Speaker 1: Anyway.
- 27:43Speaker 2: I tried to find some more information on her. She's
- 27:45Speaker 2: not a new artist, but like an indie folk artist,
- 27:49Speaker 2: and the lyrics we hear are You've got a hold
- 27:52Speaker 2: on me. I've got a hold on you. You can't
- 27:54Speaker 2: let me go. I can't let go of you. Damn.
- 27:58Speaker 1: She's a freaking genius. I know.
- 28:00Speaker 2: It's so good because now I'm like, is this what
- 28:04Speaker 2: Elliott's feeling towards Kat? Honestly, there's some weird I'm getting
- 28:10Speaker 2: weird tension between Elliott and Alice, but as teenagers, not
- 28:15Speaker 2: as adult teenager? You know what I mean?
- 28:17Speaker 1: Are you? But they wouldn't go there. I don't think
- 28:20Speaker 1: so either. It's too messy. Yeah, and I don't think
- 28:23Speaker 1: Alice sees Elliott that way. I don't know. Do you
- 28:27Speaker 1: think she sees young Elliott and adult Elliott as the
- 28:29Speaker 1: same person?
- 28:31Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 28:32Speaker 1: That's the most complicate. She has the most complicated role
- 28:35Speaker 1: here because she time travels to a place where she's
- 28:41Speaker 1: with these people who are her peers, but in her
- 28:44Speaker 1: time they're all adults making their relationship inappropriate. Yeah, that's complicated.
- 28:51Speaker 1: I feel for Alice me too. She's like, I just
- 28:55Speaker 1: want to be a teenager, go to high school, Please.
- 28:57Speaker 2: God, Seriously, teenagers haven't fifty, you know, wiz now they have.
- 29:01Speaker 2: She has time travel on top of that, and feelings
- 29:04Speaker 2: for a boy from nineteen ninety ninety two thousand crazy.
- 29:09Speaker 1: Thanks for listening to this episode of Girls Gone Hamewark.
