- 1:08Well, now it's Tom for today's episode of Yours Truly Johnny Doller The Imperfect
- 1:15Alibi Matter, Parts four and five from Hollywood. It's time now four Johnny
- 1:25Dollar, Joe was Tilly a homicide? Returning your call, Johnny, I've
- 1:27uncovered a couple of items on the Harvey Stone killing Joe Good. That's remember
- 1:33Alvin Gentry Grank who made the fake and fish in my office yesterday. What
- 1:37about him? Looks like he's not a psycho after all. What do you
- 1:40mean. I just found out he's a friend of Helen Barrett's. Whoa what
- 1:44do you know? Could be he was doing it the shielder. That shot
- 1:47doesn't look good for her, Johnny. Yeah, I gotta admit my hunch
- 1:51of out her innocence just took a nose diive. I also learned that Harvey
- 1:53secretary Martha Winters used to be his girlfriend. Yeah, I'm up to date
- 1:57on that. One. Matter of fact, Martha is in my office right
- 2:00now. Oh says she wants to make a statement. You want to hear
- 2:02it? You bet? I do tonight and every weekday night. Bob Bailey

- 2:45alibi matter location, New York City expense account continued, It am ten a
- 2:53dollar forty camp from my hotel to police headquarters. Minda Winner's secretary to the
- 2:59murdered man. Harvey's stone was in Lieutenant Jo Rostelli's office. She was a
- 3:02blonde, and again I had to admire the dead man's tastes. He could
- 3:06really picked them, Miss Windows. Would you mind telling mister Dollar here what
- 3:09you've just told me? No, not at all, Lieutenant. You see,
- 3:13mister Dollar, I have a small apartment in the same building as mister
- 3:15Stone's apartment on East fifty seven. Yes, Harvey, as mister Stone transacted
- 3:22most of the business at his apartment rather than the office when he was in
- 3:23town. That's mainly why he kept the apartment, and we felt it would
- 3:28be more convenient for me to be nearby. I see, well, the
- 3:30night before last, the night of the Murderer. Yes, I'd been out
- 3:35to a show. I got home about eleven thirty go on, I saw
- 3:39Helen Barrett walking toward mister Stone's apartment. What are you sure about the time?
- 3:46Well, not right down to the second, of course, but I
- 3:47am positive was within five minutes of eleven thirty. I see, well,
- 3:53why did you wait until this morning to tell us this? Well, come
- 3:55on, let's have it, Miss Winners. Well, naturally, no one
- 4:00likes to get mixed up in things like this, and I didn't want to
- 4:03make trouble for anybody. Helen Barrett alway seemed like a nice person. But
- 4:10mister Stone was my employer and my friend. After thinking it over, I
- 4:14could see what my duty was. You say, Harvey Stone was your friend?
- 4:18Was he anything more than that? I don't think I know what you
- 4:23mean, mister Dollar. I think you do. I understand that at one
- 4:27time you and Harvey were planning to be married. That's true, but that's
- 4:33all in the past. Yes, we decided mutually that it was a mistake.
- 4:39We've been friends ever since. But nothing more than that. I see.
- 4:45Well, good enough, Johnny. Yeah, okay, Miss Winters.
- 4:48That'll be all. Thanks for coming in. We'll get in touch with you
- 4:50again if we need any further information. All right, any time, Lieutenant
- 4:58Well Johnny. According to Martha Winter's statement, Helen Barrett was in Harvey's apartment
- 5:03at the approximate time of the murder. We know it was somewhere between eleven
- 5:08thirty and midnight. Helen said she left Harvey's apartment around eleven to go home
- 5:12and pack. They were going to a lope. When he didn't come for
- 5:15her, she got worried. She went back to his apartment around midnight found
- 5:19him dead. But that story won't hold water if Martha's telling the truth.
- 5:23Yeah, if you don't sound convinced, are you, Joe? I don't
- 5:30know, Jenny, I don't know. It's a pretty nauseating shortage of facts
- 5:34in this case. Nauseating is the word for it, all right now?
- 5:38I mean literally, when I get one like this, my stomach starts acting
- 5:42up. Joe, what have we got in the way of facts? Well?
- 5:46Number one, Harvey Stone was shot in the forehead with a thirty eight
- 5:49Smith and Wesson sometime between eleven thirty and midnight. Yeah, and even that,
- 5:54in fact, got twisted around yesterday by Alvin Gentry when he made what
- 5:57he called a confession. He said he shot Stone in the chest with a
- 6:00cold forty five and through the gun in the river. Yeah, he told
- 6:04me you'd found out he was a friend of Helen's. His confession doesn't look
- 6:09good for her, believe me, I know, but I can't seem to
- 6:13lose my hunch that she's innocent. Look, Johnny, I don't blame you
- 6:17for trying at your job. What do you mean? Harvey Stone was ensured
- 6:21for one hundred and fifty thousand bucks by the company you represent. Yeah,
- 6:26that's right, Okay, His father e J. Stone and his young stepmother
- 6:30daphnear the joint beneficiaries. Now, if one of them should turn out to
- 6:34be the murderer, your company wouldn't have to pay a minute. Show,
- 6:38Wait a minute, I think you know me well enough to figure out a
- 6:41lot. Rather see that company pay through the nose than convict an innocent person.
- 6:44Show. But just about everything we've got, points to Helen Barrass just
- 6:46about, but not quite. For instance, for instance, Harvey's father e
- 6:50J. Stone, he thought Harvey was running the business into the ground.
- 6:54He didn't like it. He also didn't like the fact that Harvey and his
- 6:57stepmother were pretty friendly man wheelchairs, liable to resent a lot of things.
- 7:01Yeah, that's that's the point. E J. Can get out of his
- 7:04wheelchair when he wants to. I saw him out of it yesterday. Sure.
- 7:10Then there's Daphne herself. She opposed the idea of Harvey marrying. Helen
- 7:14said she wanted to protect the Stone name. But that sounds pretty fishy coming
- 7:18from somebody who used to be a chorus girl herself. Did you ask her
- 7:21about that picture of her you spotted in Dutch Creeger's office. Yeah, she
- 7:26said that was all in the past. But I wonder Judge got kicked out
- 7:30of a business deal by Harvey. He wouldn't forget that, and he's a
- 7:32tough cookie, and there still could be a connection between him and Dafty.
- 7:36Here we go again, could be okay, okay. So I guess what
- 7:43it all adds up to is just that I kind of got myself sold on
- 7:46Helen. Sure, I've been sold on people too. Sometimes it's ended up
- 7:49costing me. So now I just hold back and don't make up my mind
- 7:53one way or another. All Right, it's turned out to be a pretty
- 7:56good idea too. Why don't you try Johnny expense account out of eleven a
- 8:03double martini for me? Well, I thought over what Joe Rostelli had said.
- 8:09Sura was good advice not to get too sold on people, but it
- 8:13didn't help me much At the moment. I still couldn't believe Helen Barrett had
- 8:18killed Harvey Stone, but I had to admit that if she wasn't, the
- 8:20killer had left a lot of things unexplained. For one thing, Alvin Jeffery's
- 8:24fake confession, it sure looked like he was trying to shield her. I
- 8:30checked and learned that he managed the Suffer Club where Helen used to sing.
- 8:33I decided to have a talk with him. I found him on a corner
- 8:35table. Yeah, I'm Johnny Dollar. Gentry. We we met in Lieutenan
- 8:43Rostelli's office. Yeah, I'd like to talk to you. What about about
- 8:46the Harvey Stone killing him? There's nothing to talk about. I don't agree.
- 8:50I think there is. I made my confession. You guys didn't believe
- 8:54me. Well, now that's because you got a few of the things wrong.
- 8:58Gentry. One interest me now is not your confession, but the reason
- 9:01you made it. What do you mean what you said? Harvey Stone had
- 9:05been making a play for your girl A hatcheck girl, wasn't it. You
- 9:09said that's why you killed him. So you said you didn't know Helen Barrett.
- 9:13I don't, but you're lying. We found out you're a friend of
- 9:16Helen. She used to go with her, and you were waiting in her
- 9:18apartment the night of the murder when she left Harvey's and came home to pack.
- 9:22Well, how about a gentry? Okay, so I do know Helen,
- 9:28but she didn't kill Stone. How do you know she couldn't have.
- 9:31She's not that kind. Oh sure, you were waiting at her apartment that
- 9:35night. Why I wanted to see it? What about? She used to
- 9:39sing here, she drew good crowds. I wanted her back. What kind
- 9:43of a mood was she in when she got to her apartment? What do
- 9:45you mean? Well, did she talk about Harvey Stone and he? Did
- 9:48she seem mad or upset? I don't remember. Cut it out, Gentry,
- 9:52I want straight answers. Well, I guess a a little argument.
- 9:56What about I don't know? Anyway, it doesn't matter. Helen didn't kill
- 10:00Stone. She was. She was with me. You mean for a few
- 10:03minutes at her home. I mean longer than a few minutes. She was
- 10:07with me at the time of the killing. Now, look, Gentry,
- 10:11I know you're trying to help Helen, but believe me, this isn't helping
- 10:15her. First, you make a phony confession, and now all of a
- 10:18sudden you're giving her an alibi. I'm sure it was stupid of me to
- 10:22make that confession. You can say that again, But I realized later it
- 10:24wasn't necessary. I realized that Helen had been with me at the time of
- 10:28the killing. You're going to stick to that story, I under oath under
- 10:31Oh, perjury is a pretty serious thing, Gentry. Perjury is pretty hard
- 10:35to prove. Dollar One thing seemed pretty clear. Alvin Gentry was apparently convinced
- 10:43that Helen had killed Harvey Stone. He was doing everything he could think of,
- 10:46even perjuring himself, to shield her. And I've already scrambled the worse
- 10:50that began to look for her. Then two, there was the statement of
- 10:54Martha Winters, Harvey's secretary, that she'd seen Helen returning to his apartment at
- 10:58eleven thirty. That would put Helen back there during the time of the murder.
- 11:03I still wasn't completely convinced that Martha Winters was telling the truth, so
- 11:05I spent the rest of the afternoon checking on her to see what I could
- 11:09find out. And a couple of things I found out were pretty interesting,
- 11:13so interesting that I decided to try to run a little pluff on it.
- 11:26Oh, mister Donner, Hello, Martha, I'd like to talk to you.
- 11:31Well, I was just on my way out. This won't take long,
- 11:35all right, Please come in. Thanks. Well, it's about that
- 11:43statement you made to Lieutenant Rostelli this morning. Oh, well, I really
- 11:48haven't anything more to add to with mister donnan. Look, I'm sorry,
- 11:50but I have an engagement. Yeah, you told us this morning that you
- 11:54and Harvey Stone used to go together, but you called it off and we're
- 11:58just friends. I have to say that, Yes, that's right now.
- 12:01Look, mister Dollar, that isn't the story I picked up at the office
- 12:05of the Stone Corporation a while ago. Martha in the office, Now,
- 12:09what right have you to go snooping around that all, Martha? But snooping's
- 12:11my business, and you know you pick up a lot of interesting information that
- 12:15way. But if you're going to listen to office and I found out it
- 12:16was Harvey who called off the deal with you, no, and you've been
- 12:20carrying a torch for him ever since. There's been a couple of nasty scenes
- 12:22about it. That's a lot. Matter of fact. Once or twice he'd
- 12:24almost made up his mind to can you, but each time he decided lies
- 12:28lies, all of it. Okay, Okay, we'll let that go for
- 12:31a minute. How about your statement this morning, mister Dollar. I haven't
- 12:37time to stand here and repeat what I've already said. That's where you're wrong,
- 12:39Martha. You've got time to hear this. You'll take time. Now.
- 12:45What is it You said you saw Helen heading for Harvey's apartment at eleven
- 12:50thirty? Yes, I did. Where were you at the time? Why?
- 12:54Here in your apartment? Here? But you're a apartments around the corner
- 13:01the hall from Harvey's. How could you have seen her from here? I
- 13:03didn't mean I was in my apartment. I was at the entrance, just
- 13:07coming in the front entrance. Yes, but Helen came in the side entrance.
- 13:11You couldn't have seen her from the front, But she's lying anyway.
- 13:13I hadn't reached the front entrance yet. I was outside. Sorry, Martha,
- 13:16the dormant and the cop on the beat both would have seen her.
- 13:20You'll lie, didn't you? No, you didn't see her at all?
- 13:22Well, it had to be Helen. She's the one who killed him.
- 13:24I know she did. You lie, didn't you, Martha? It hadn't
- 13:26been for her. But it wasn't for her. Maybe you'd be missus Harvey
- 13:30Stone. Huh. I didn't mean that. I meant Harvey to still be
- 13:33alive. I just didn't want her to get away with it. You lied,
- 13:35Martha, You didn't see Helen at all, is I like mister Stone,
- 13:43I lie. Yeah, my bluff about the dormant and the cop on
- 13:54the beat and Helen coming in the side entrance had paid off. Looking at
- 13:58Martha, I didn't exactly feel like having three cheers about it. But one
- 14:01thing was clear though. The Harvey Stone murder case had just busted wide open
- 14:05again. Johnny Dellar, Joe was Delly at homicide Johnny Plant, you called,
- 14:28Joe, got something new for you on the Harvey Stone murder case.
- 14:30Let's have it. Yesterday, Harvey's secretary Martha Winters told her she'd seen Helen
- 14:33Barrett approaching his apartment at just about the time he was murdered. Yeah,
- 14:37she just admitted to me that she lied. She wasn't in position to have
- 14:41seen anyone approaching the apartment at the time. Well, let maybe open things
- 14:45up a little again. Yeah, I've gotten item along that line too,
- 14:48Johnny. What is it? Harvey's young stepmother, Daphney up in Westchester Countie.
- 14:54Oh what about her? I just found out she was here in the
- 14:56city the night of Harvey's murder. What. Yeah. Expense account submitted by
- 15:09Special Investigator Johnny Dollar to the Home Office Northeastern Demnity Associates, Hartford, Connecticut
- 15:16assignment the imperfect alibi matter location, New York City expense account concluded Item thirteen
- 15:26three to twenty transportation to the Stone estate in Westchester County to question Harvey's young
- 15:31stepmother, Daphney Stone, as a suspect in Harvey's killing. Daphney was very
- 15:35much alive again. Sit down, Johnny. Thanks nice out here. Drink
- 15:46no thanks. As the investigation going, well, that's what I came to
- 15:50talk about, Daphney, it hasn't been going too well. I was under
- 15:56the impression that an arrest had been made. Helen Barrett's being hell, well,
- 16:00then Helen Barrett could be the killer. A lot of things point in
- 16:04her direction, but there are a few that don't. What do you mean.
- 16:10Right from the start, you've been giving me incomplete answers or false senswers.
- 16:15First, you told me it was Harvey's father e J who opposed his
- 16:17plans to marry Helen. Then I found out you were the one who was
- 16:21fighting it. Look, I explained all that it's because I didn't want you
- 16:25to get the wrong idea. Oh yeah, yeah, so you said you
- 16:27told me you posed it because you didn't think the Stone name should go to
- 16:30a supper club singer like Helen. Yes, but you yourself used to be
- 16:33a chorus girl. I explained that to you too, Johnny, Okay,
- 16:37So you oppose the marriage for the dignity of the family and not just to
- 16:41keep Hervey at home with you. That's a vicious thing to say. I
- 16:45told you Harvey and I, being about the same age, were very good
- 16:48friends, true friends. Is that what your husband thought? You forget?
- 16:52Harvey's father is confined a wheelchair. Understandably, he might occasionally resent those who
- 16:57can be more active. That's another thing. He didn't tell me, Daphne
- 17:00that ej could get out of his wheelchair on occasion. I caught a glimpse
- 17:03of him out of it the last time I was here, short periods only,
- 17:07and with considerable discomfort. So you and Harvey were friends, like you
- 17:12and that gambler Dutch creeker. Huh, Danny, my patience is running hot.
- 17:17I explained that Dutch was in the past, completely in the past before
- 17:22my marriage. But Dutch got kicked out of a business deal by Harvey,
- 17:26and he wouldn't like a thing like that. Harvey acted perfectly properly. Really,
- 17:30Johnny, I just one more thing, Well, what is it?
- 17:34One thing more? You didn't tell me that you were in the city the
- 17:38night Harvey was murdered there. Well, I should have told you that,
- 17:48Johnny. I went into the city that evening because I knew Harvey was to
- 17:52have a meeting with Helen later that night. I wanted to talk to Harvey
- 17:56face what about I knew he was planning some definite action about her, So
- 18:02you wanted to talk him out of marrying her, if you want to put
- 18:04it like that. Yes, what time was that I saw him in his
- 18:08apartment? About nine? I left before ten? Can anybody verify those times?
- 18:14I don't know. I see what was the outcome of your talk with
- 18:18Harvey? You assured me he'd break off with Helen. You sure about that?
- 18:22Completely? Sure? I decided to stay at a hotel that night instead
- 18:27of coming back home. I suppose that's how the police knew I was in
- 18:30the city. It's Helen's story that when she saw Harvey later, they decided
- 18:34to Elope if I believed that, But I don't. I think she's lying.
- 18:45And how about you, Daphney, have you given me the whole truth?
- 18:48Now, Yes, Johnny, the whole truth. Everything I've done has
- 18:55been done solely to protect the family name. Everything right, then, I'd
- 19:04have given a lot to know just what that everything involved, whether or not
- 19:08it also included some weird idea of killing Harvey to somehow protect the family name.
- 19:18Expense account. I am fourteen three twenty transportation back to the city.
- 19:22I got permission from Joe Rostelli to talk to Helen Barrett. When they brought
- 19:26her into the interrogation room, she looked pale and tired. Hello, Johnny,
- 19:32Helen, several things I want to ask you about it. Sit down?
- 19:36Sure? What Martha Winners who won Harvey's secretary? What about her?
- 19:44Well, she made a statement that she'd seen you heading for Harvey's apartment around
- 19:47eleven thirty, that it put you inside there during the time of the murder.
- 19:51No, No, I'm sure it was later than that, almost twelve
- 19:53when I got back there. Martha later admitted that she lied. But the
- 19:56question is why still carrying the torch for Harvey? Yes, I guess she
- 20:02was. Next item is about Alvin Gentry. Lieutenant Rostelli told me about that
- 20:07confession. Alvin, mate, he got all the details wrong. Caliber the
- 20:10guy. What do you mean, Well, he'd always made it clear how
- 20:14he felt about me, but I didn't think he'd go that far. How
- 20:17do you feel about him? I've always liked him very much. He used
- 20:21to go with him so, but I stopped when I started seeing Harvey.
- 20:23Did you talk to Alvin Long at your apartment that night? No, just
- 20:27a few minutes while I was packing. You know, you just talked yourself
- 20:33out of an alibi. What do you mean, Well, after Gentry's confession
- 20:37didn't sell, he was willing to swear you were with him during the entire
- 20:40period the murder could have taken place, Johnny. Why does an innocent person
- 20:47need an alibi? It helps in courts, believe me. Well, how'd
- 21:00you make out with Daphne and Helen? Johnny? Joe, remind me never
- 21:03to get involved with show people again. They make their living putting on an
- 21:07act, and I'm just country boy enough not to be able to tell a
- 21:10difference once in a while. They both gave you nice straight stories. Eh
- 21:12oh yeah, sure, real sincere. Iok me right in the eye both
- 21:15of them, but one of them was lying. Huh. Daphne said Harvey
- 21:19told her he'd break off with Helen, but Helen says the two of them
- 21:22were planning to Elope. Of course, Harvey might have changed his mind after
- 21:25talking to Daphney. Yeah, but that's something we're not going to be able
- 21:27to confirm now. No, Johnny's since Alvin Jump is convinced that Helen's guilty,
- 21:33I think he's holding back something. God doesn't stick his neck out that
- 21:36far without a reason, I know, but I still don't dig her motive.
- 21:41I suppose Daphnie's telling the truth that Harvey broke up with Helen. Maybe
- 21:44she couldn't stand getting the brush of Yeah, could be all right. People
- 21:48can do some strange things under the name of love, Johnny, particularly when
- 21:52it turns to hate, and that can happen awful fast expenses items fifteen and
- 22:02sixteen A dollar forty cab to my hotel, and a dollar even for a
- 22:04pot of coffee in my room room. One hour I had three cups of
- 22:07coffee and half a dozen cigarettes later, I was still nowhere. I was
- 22:11beat. And then a weird little idea began pecking away. A couple of
- 22:22things were Stelly had said suddenly started adding up to a pretty fantastic answer.
- 22:26Maybe it wouldn't stand the latter day. But it was night now and it
- 22:29was the only idea I could come up with. I decided to try it
- 22:33on for size. I went to the club. Alvin Gentry managed, Oh
- 22:36hello, Dollar, I was here to hope you'd be around again. Oh
- 22:38yeah, I want to talk to you, but not now. It's almost
- 22:41closing time. Stick around, will you. I waited at the bar while
- 22:45the customers left. Twenty minutes later, Gentry and I were long. He
- 22:49slid onto a stool beside me, drink No, no thanks. What's on
- 22:56your mind, Gentry? Well, I've been thinking about what you said the
- 23:00last time we talked about perjury. Huh. I decided you were right,
- 23:03Dollar. I make it pretty tough on you for perjury. Yeah, they
- 23:07do. I'm withdrawing my statement that Helen was with me at the time of
- 23:11the murder. Well that's probably the smart thing to do, Gentry. Here,
- 23:15what's the use I'm getting tired of being a sucker in this deal?
- 23:18A fall guy? Oh goofed up confession I made. It was bad enough,
- 23:22and I had to stick my neck out still further with that fake alibi
- 23:25for her and for what. So you're withdrawing the statement, huh yeah,
- 23:30that's probably what you came to see me about. Huh No, No,
- 23:34that isn't why I came to see at all, Gentry. And I wouldn't
- 23:38exactly call you a sucker. I think you're one of the smartest guys I've
- 23:42ever seen, and a sort of weird and twisted kind of way. What
- 23:47are you talking about? You played this whole del real cage right from the
- 23:49start. Everything you did was supposed to look like a cover for Helen,
- 23:53but instead of that, you were really trying to put a noose around the
- 23:56neck. You're out of your mind, Dollar, And that confession you made,
- 24:00Gentry, that's why I came to see you, to tell you.
- 24:02It wasn't goofed up at all. You did kill Harvey Stone. You know
- 24:07you got a real weird sense of humor. Have I A couple of things
- 24:11Lieutenant Rostelli said added up in my mind a few minutes ago. Love can
- 24:15turn to hate fast, and you'd have to have a good reason to do
- 24:18what you did. You wanted Helen bad when she told you that night she
- 24:22was gonna marry Harvey Stone. You couldn't stand the idea if you couldn't have
- 24:26her, Nobody could. You're talking crazy. You went to Harvey's apartment and
- 24:29killed him, Then you made that fake confession to look like you were selding
- 24:32her. Actually you were framing. No, you knew we wouldn't believe you,
- 24:36and we wouldn't believe that alibi you offered for her. It all made
- 24:38her look more guilty by the moment, Dolly, you're forcing me to say
- 24:41something I didn't want to. Oh, what is it? Helen was mad
- 24:45at Harvey that night. I was worried. I followed her back to his
- 24:48apartment. When I got there, she was standing over the body with a
- 24:51gun in her hand. She said, why did I do it? She
- 24:52kept saying it over and over. That's why I made the fake confession to
- 24:56protect her. Sorry, Gentry, it's a little too late for that story.
- 25:00Right now. I keep telling you that confession you made was legitimate.
- 25:03Are you crazy? I didn't even get the caliber the gun? Right,
- 25:06Yes, you did? What are you talking him? He made a mistake.
- 25:07Harvey was killed with a forty five cold just like you said, you're
- 25:11crazy. It was a thirty eighth Smith, Yeah, a thirty eight Smith
- 25:15and Wesson. I know that, so did the police. So does the
- 25:21killer nobody else who was in the papers. No, Gentry, it wasn't
- 25:26in the papers. You're dead wrong, dollar, dead wrong. He kicked
- 25:32a barstool at me, and I dove behind the end of the bar.
- 25:34The lights went off. I had my gun out now, but I couldn't
- 25:37see anything in the dark. He couldn't get past me to the front door,
- 25:41but he could get out of the back. I had to locate him
- 25:42fast. Then my hand touched an ash tray at the end of the bar.
- 25:45I picked it up and tossed it toward the center of the room.
- 25:48I spotted the flash of his gun. Now I had him paid. I
- 25:56found a lamp on one of the tables. Tree was slumped in a corner
- 26:03my shoulder. Help me. Don't worry, Gentry, You're not going to
- 26:07conk out. There's plenty left of you to stand. Trial. Final line
- 26:18him on expense account twelve dollars and eighty cents, transportation and its the nettle's
- 26:22back home. Total expenses one hundred and ninety two dollars forty cents. But
- 26:26still he arrived in response to my call and had Gentry cart it away.
- 26:30Alan Barrett was released from custody. Remarks here, I thought Dutch Krieger was
- 26:34the gambler in the case, but the little game of winner Take All that
- 26:38Gentry had been playing was just about the weirdest I'd ever heard of. I
- 26:42thought about him up there in the death house it sings sing, and realized
- 26:45that the big trouble with that kind of gamble that he was taking is that
- 26:49the losers seek can get awfully hot. Yours too, lean, Johnny Dollar.
