- 0:11Today we're joined by a special guest from Bear Den Live.
- 0:15He is joining us today to talk about the Chicago Bears.
- 0:19And so today he's joining us. We're going to talk about some
- 0:23of We're going to talk about Will's favorite team, the
- 0:26Chicago Bears. Yay, then one of the 32.
- 0:36You know what? Hold on though, before we get
- 0:39you far into this. At least they have an owner,
- 0:41unlike the Packers. OK, you've got that going for
- 0:45you over the Packers. You have an actual head of your
- 0:49team. OK, Anyway, continue.
- 0:51And he's not Jerry Jones, so. He's not Jerry Jones.
- 0:54You're winning. All right, well, why don't you
- 0:57go ahead and start us off just by letting everybody know where
- 1:00they can find you on social media and just tell us a little
- 1:02bit about yourself and how you kind of got started with your
- 1:05coverage of the Bears. Yeah man thank you guys again
- 1:08for having me like always go bears, but you guys can find my
- 1:11socials TikTok, Instagram, TikTok, Instagram, Twitter, I
- 1:16guess X just bear den live BEARDENLIVE and you know my my
- 1:24love for the bears has always been I'm 23 years old and
- 1:27pushing 24. So always been a bears fan grew
- 1:30up in Chicago Chicagoland area sitting not too far from Soldier
- 1:33Field. So always been a bears fan and
- 1:35just continuing my my pain, but you know, got high hopes.
- 1:40I know Will's not going to want to hear that, but I've got high
- 1:42hopes this year. So I'm I'm looking forward to it
- 1:45and I'm I started off just, you know, just doing some videos on
- 1:48TikTok and it took me to a route like we're here right now.
- 1:50So, you know, thanks again for y'all for having me.
- 1:52So I'm excited for this. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:54We're excited to have you. Will, what were you going to
- 1:56say? I was going to say you're on the
- 1:57show with with two Cowboys fans and a freelancer over there in a
- 2:01free. I don't know if Joe or I had
- 2:04said a single good thing about the Cowboys in 23 episodes.
- 2:08It's #24 So at least you have high hopes, all right?
- 2:12So, so, so at least at least you've got that.
- 2:15So there's that. Cause 'cause we sure don't.
- 2:17No, 5:00 and 12:00. Here we go. 5:00 and 12:00.
- 2:21I was a Cowboys fan too, man 5 and 12 is still generous, I'm
- 2:25giving you that. And I think 5:00 and 12:00 is
- 2:27still generous. Well, no mica.
- 2:30Nothing. That's fair.
- 2:32Hey, maybe Michael will be a bear.
- 2:34You never know. I would I would do anything to
- 2:36get Micah to be in Chicago. Man, I'm there's anything?
- 2:40Anything. Tread, Caleb.
- 2:42No, OK, OK, got it. Now I think anything was a was a
- 2:46little too much on my end. I don't know if I can get hey.
- 2:49But in in exchange, you can get one of the top paid quarterbacks
- 2:52in the league, Dak Prescott. Go top paid quarterback.
- 2:56Yeah, not one of the top paid. The top. 60 million a year got.
- 3:03A crazy. Time until the next guy signs a
- 3:05contract and then he's got the next.
- 3:07No. People have signed sense that
- 3:08and none of them have been that high.
- 3:10Yeah, I know, I know. But it's just a matter of just
- 3:13time before someone else eclipses that.
- 3:15It's kind of like the world, world records in the Olympics.
- 3:18Like every year, every four years we got new guys.
- 3:21But we thought there's always an object.
- 3:22In homes, right? It has 10 year half a billion
- 3:25dollar contract. Oh, this is the new thing.
- 3:28And then no one else followed suit.
- 3:29Now the Chiefs are fake heroes because they're paying that guy
- 3:32a nickel to win a Super Bowl. I'm really here.
- 3:34Crazy when it's Caleb's turn, he'll get paid 61 million.
- 3:38Oh, yeah, I, I think in two years he'll be the highest paid
- 3:42quarterback. If I don't know about Dakota
- 3:44Prescott, if he's still going to get an extension.
- 3:46I don't know what Jerry Jones like to do, likes to do, but you
- 3:49know. Wow, I.
- 3:50Hope he doesn't play highest for sure.
- 3:53If he signs the highest, that means he's the best, right?
- 3:55He is going to be the best he will be.
- 3:57Obviously, actually. Tax the best.
- 4:03All right, well, if you guys are Bears fans or even if you're
- 4:06not, if you wanted to see some good NFL content and some Bears
- 4:08content, go follow Bear Den live on his social media platforms.
- 4:12And again, thank you for coming on with us today.
- 4:13It's it's good to have you and I'm excited to talk about the
- 4:16bears. So before we talk about the
- 4:18Bears, we are going to talk about something else.
- 4:20We're actually going to talk about which late round draft
- 4:24pick from the 2025 draft could emerge into a prominent role for
- 4:28their team this season. And so as our guest, why don't
- 4:31you go ahead and get us started. Who do you think is going to be
- 4:34a late round rookie from the 2025 draft who could have a big
- 4:38role for their team? Yeah, man, I think this is I
- 4:41love this. I think I really like this
- 4:42question just because with no bias aside, like I'm putting all
- 4:46my bias aside, I'm going to go Kyle Manung guy.
- 4:47I, I know you guys are going to be like, oh, it's so biased, the
- 4:50Bears guy, but. I think, I don't even know.
- 4:53I don't even know who. I could not tell.
- 4:55I couldn't even pronounce that guy's name.
- 4:57I don't know who he is. Don't worry it it took me a
- 5:00second to to to pronounce his name too.
- 5:02Don't worry. No, he's a seventh round pick
- 5:05out of Rutgers running back and the Bears running back room.
- 5:09And honestly, he he runs like Isaiah Pacheco.
- 5:12And it's a coincidence that Isaiah Pacheco was taken in the
- 5:15seventh round by the Chiefs and also went to Rutgers and is now
- 5:19emerging as the RB one on his team.
- 5:22And the Bears and Ryan polls did the same thing with Kyle Manon.
- 5:25Guy took him to the seventh round and from what I've seen at
- 5:28training camp and practice and everything in general, he runs
- 5:32literally like he's wearing big feet and he's stomping through a
- 5:35wall. He is what we want and he is a
- 5:39horsepower like workforce running back that if DeAndre
- 5:42Swift was to ever get hurt or Roshan seems to be dealing with
- 5:45an injury right now, he will emerge, as you know, the running
- 5:48back 1. And I wouldn't be surprised if
- 5:50in a year or two he is our starting running back like
- 5:53Isaiah Pacheco took over that role at the Chiefs.
- 5:55So late, late round pick, super late.
- 5:58But he, he's a dog. He he's got that dog mentality.
- 6:01Yeah, I like that. I mean, I like the late round
- 6:04running backs because I feel like there's always a late round
- 6:06running back who just comes out of nowhere like we're not
- 6:09expecting. And they they end up doing
- 6:12really well. Like kind of a good example
- 6:13would be Alvin Camaro for the Saints.
- 6:15And he was a fifth round pick, I believe.
- 6:17And he just came out of nowhere. Like nobody expected him to do
- 6:20that. But just looking at Monongai's
- 6:22stats here, so the last two seasons he had over 1200 rushing
- 6:26yards. He averaged over 5 yards a carry
- 6:28and he had 13 touchdowns this last year and eight touchdowns
- 6:32the year before. So the last two years he's been
- 6:35very good for Rutgers. So I, I actually like what like
- 6:38that pick. I think that's a, that's a
- 6:39really good pick. And that'd be exciting to see a
- 6:417th rounder to another seventh round running back to step up in
- 6:45the NFL. And kind of, it kind of goes
- 6:48against kind of what running backs are hoping for 'cause you
- 6:50know, you know, they like the first round, the, the first
- 6:53round running backs, they like to be paid.
- 6:55But you know, when you can find a guy in the seventh round, it's
- 6:57kind of like you don't really need to.
- 6:58So it kind of goes against what the what the running backs want,
- 7:01but it is kind of cool to see those late round picks,
- 7:04especially at the running back position to to step up like
- 7:06that. So I think it's a good pick.
- 7:08Anything else you want to say about him?
- 7:10No, I think I I'll just follow up on you.
- 7:13I think the running back position is one of the most
- 7:15easily replaceable positions in the NFL that we can have.
- 7:19So, you know, having him as even depth, I think is a great,
- 7:22great. You know, it's it's good for the
- 7:24Bears, so. All right, cool.
- 7:27So Avery, why don't you go next, Who is a late round pick that
- 7:30you think will emerge into a prominent role for their team
- 7:33this year? I want to start off by saying
- 7:35that I think kind of going off what Bearden was talking about,
- 7:39I think a lot of those running backs end up having a better
- 7:43shot at getting good playing time.
- 7:46And I think it's mainly because, well, I believe, I think a lot
- 7:49of people agree running backs a very short shelf life.
- 7:52But when they're not taking that weekly pounding on the field
- 7:56every Sunday, I think it helps the duration a bit.
- 7:59And so then at that point, you're gotten a little bit more
- 8:02used to the scheme, more used to, you know, all basically
- 8:05everything you need to know. And then so when you do come in,
- 8:08you are still fresh, you're still young.
- 8:10So I think a lot of those, a lot of the running backs that I was
- 8:13looking at, I feel like I'm like, honestly, it's just one of
- 8:16those things you just put them in the right situation.
- 8:18I mean, it's not like you forget how to run when you get drafted.
- 8:21That being said, I picked a wide receiver, picked Ellic IO Manor.
- 8:29This is a this is a Homer pick for me.
- 8:31I think that guy is insane. I watched him when he was still
- 8:35when the PAC 12 still existed. I guess it still kind of does
- 8:38the PAC 2 or so. I don't know what it is now.
- 8:41They don't even talk about it. Poor Washington State and Oregon
- 8:44State just stuck there. But he played at Stanford.
- 8:47Dude cooked everybody. I mean, this guy like, yeah,
- 8:52this guy look like Larry Fitzgerald out there.
- 8:54I was surprised when he dropped this far.
- 8:57I think he should have been a lot higher, but maybe teams
- 9:00didn't have that need. But I think I think right now
- 9:02he's listed it like wide receiver 4 right now.
- 9:05So I don't think he's going to get much playing time.
- 9:07But I think if any of these guys go down, I think if Tyler
- 9:10Lockett gets touched before he slides, I think.
- 9:13He can get hurt. And then Alec can come in.
- 9:17I think it's just one of those things where, especially with
- 9:19Cam Ward, I think a lot of eyes are going to be on Alec if he
- 9:24does come in. I just think he's got a lot of
- 9:26big play potential and I'm excited to see how he develops.
- 9:30Yeah, he was actually one of the guys that we had ranked in our
- 9:32top 50 big board for the NFL draft.
- 9:35So we had him ranked a lot higher than a lot of other
- 9:37people did. But if you look at when he
- 9:39played at Stanford, their their whole offensive scheme was just
- 9:43not a good fit for him. And and it just wasn't a a
- 9:47passing offense that fit what he does.
- 9:50And so I think with especially with a rookie quarterback, you
- 9:53know, the Titans are probably going to be losing a lot.
- 9:55So they're going to throw the ball a lot.
- 9:56I think he's going to have a lot of opportunity.
- 9:58And so I really like that pick as well.
- 10:00Avery, he's a guy that I was really high on, you were really
- 10:03high on and I think we were just all really high on collectively.
- 10:06But yeah, Faison, how do you how do you feel about IO Manor?
- 10:09Do you have any thoughts on that?
- 10:11I do like what Avery said about if Tyler Lockett goes down, I
- 10:14think he steps up in a big role. Considering Tyler Lockett's age,
- 10:172, I think that it's good that they picked him up.
- 10:20It's you know, he'll sit at the bottom of the depth chart just
- 10:23for the time being. Like you said, I think WR 4
- 10:25right now, but injuries happen. And I do know that Tyler Lockett
- 10:30is getting of that age. So you did say if he if he gets
- 10:33even touched before he goes, that man is not he's not going
- 10:37to be, he's not coming back the next day.
- 10:39So I think he has big shoes to fill.
- 10:41But I think if you give those types of players that
- 10:43opportunity, I think it's a big, I think it's a big opportunity
- 10:46for them to step up and, you know, kind of show out who they
- 10:48are and why they were taken the way they were.
- 10:50So yeah. Yeah, for sure.
- 10:54All right. Well, who you got?
- 10:56I got a guy who man, nobody nobody watched him in college,
- 11:01right? Not not a single person watching
- 11:02Colorado State play college football.
- 11:04No, no, Horton. It is Tori Horton.
- 11:08Hey, good job. Maybe you watch Colorado State
- 11:10play college football. I certainly did not.
- 11:13I I also didn't watch him at Nevada, but he is currently
- 11:16listed as bodies Fever 2 on a depth chart.
- 11:20They've got they've got Cooper Cup.
- 11:23Yeah, they've got Cooper Cup listed in this slot, so who
- 11:26really is Large 02 is up in the air.
- 11:30But still you've got Jackson Smith and Jigma, who, I mean,
- 11:34he's going to be their guy this year.
- 11:36But the problem is, is you've got Sam Donald, who has to prove
- 11:39it wasn't just a fluke. And so he's going to have to
- 11:42fling the ball around left, right and center.
- 11:44Everyone's going to have to be open.
- 11:46Everyone's going to have to be heavily involved.
- 11:48I think Tori Houghton, as you believe he was in the fifth
- 11:50round this year, They got good value out of him and I think
- 11:53that he's going to be at six foot two.
- 11:56He's a big body. We know the Seattle Seahawks
- 11:59love to throw the ball on the 1 yard line, so he's going to be
- 12:02there for them for that. All right, yeah, I don't know if
- 12:05you guys watched any of his pre season highlights, but he had a
- 12:07pretty good, at least one game I watched.
- 12:10He had a pretty good game in one of the pre season games.
- 12:12I know it's just pre season, but still he showcases a little bit
- 12:15of what he can do. And I think with those two
- 12:17receivers with Cup and with JSN, there's going to be a lot of
- 12:21opportunity for somebody else to step up.
- 12:22So I think that's a really good pick as well.
- 12:25Do you guys have any thoughts on Tori Horton?
- 12:27I don't know about him being wide receiver 2 on that depth
- 12:30chart. I just really like I'm really
- 12:31high on JSN this year too. I've I've been out of college.
- 12:34I think he's a stud. He his separation is really
- 12:37good. And Cooper Cup, we know what he
- 12:39he's he can do. Yeah, he's getting older and
- 12:41yeah, he's you know, he didn't get the contract he wanted with
- 12:44the Rams, but I don't know, again, with with these rookie
- 12:47wide receivers, it's really tough.
- 12:49You know, you it's either a hit or miss, no matter where they're
- 12:52taken, either to take in the first round of the seventh
- 12:54round. It doesn't matter.
- 12:55Like it they're a really big hit or miss in that position just
- 12:58because there's so many mouths to feed.
- 12:59But it just all depends on Sam Darnold too.
- 13:01Like like Will said, like if he can prove that it wasn't a
- 13:04fluke, then I would I'll give him a couple of games in the
- 13:08beginning. But if that's offense struggles,
- 13:11then it's going to be really hard to to root for not root,
- 13:15but you know, consider upside on on those types of players.
- 13:18Yeah. Do you guys think that it was a
- 13:20fluke for Sam Darnold? Do you think it was a fluke for
- 13:22Sam Darnold? I don't know if it was a fluke,
- 13:25right? Because it's because I broke the
- 13:26clock, right? Twice a year or twice a day.
- 13:28Excuse me, Rich Grossman with the Bears of the Super Bowl.
- 13:31OK, so you don't have to be good all the time.
- 13:35You have to be good at the right time.
- 13:37So I didn't that is my defaults below average quarterback that
- 13:44did really well. That's just my that had nothing
- 13:46to do with having a Bears fan on.
- 13:48I have said that multiple times in the show is just my default
- 13:54go to. Sometimes the quarterback
- 13:56doesn't matter as much, but also average to below average
- 14:00quarterback should have really good seasons with a well built
- 14:03team and go really, really far. So taking nothing away from that
- 14:07Bears team as a whole, no rush Grossman.
- 14:10Specifically, I don't know. I think, I don't know.
- 14:15I think he's a very systematic quarterback, Kevin.
- 14:18He was in Kevin O'Connell, one of the best coaches, I will
- 14:21admit it to from a Bears fan. Kevin O'Connell is one of the
- 14:23best coaches the NFL has recently seen.
- 14:26You got your Mcveigh's, you got all those guys.
- 14:28But I, I think O'Connell is a very systematic quarterback and
- 14:32I don't have any hopes in JJ McCarthy.
- 14:34Don't, don't. I don't want anybody to twist my
- 14:35words on this. But I do think of the flu just
- 14:38because it was a very good system and losing Pete Carroll
- 14:41for, you know, the Seahawks is a big, big gap to fill.
- 14:44But I guess we'll see. Will you guys agree?
- 14:47Yeah, if you want to hit on JJ on this show, Will is all for
- 14:50that. So oh, good, great.
- 14:52Go, go right ahead. Oh, slander off slander.
- 14:54Any NFC North quarterback, and besides Caleb, so any And you
- 14:58got anybody else? Jordan got golf.
- 15:00I'm here for it, man. All right, so for my late round
- 15:06rookie who could step into a prominent role this year, I went
- 15:09with a Homer pick. I went with Dallas Cowboys
- 15:12running back Jaden Blue out of Texas.
- 15:14I almost went, what's happening with I bet Joel picks him, I'm
- 15:18going to pick somebody else. Yeah, and so the reason I went
- 15:22with him is because at the combine he ran a 438 and at his
- 15:26pro day he ran a sub 43. Now, one thing the Dallas
- 15:29Cowboys have not had in, I don't know how long is speed on that
- 15:34offense. The only player they have with
- 15:36speed is Kevonte Turpin, who runs a 431.
- 15:40Everybody else isn't considered fast.
- 15:43So these are these are the players that are listed as their
- 15:46starters on their depth chart. Or well, no, they're not all
- 15:49starters, but some of them backups, but guys who will play
- 15:51on their depth chart. And these are their 40 times.
- 15:54So the guys on their jet chart who there 40 times who will play
- 15:57is Javonte Williams. He ran A457.
- 16:01Miles Sanders ran A449 CD Lamb runs A451, George Pickens is a
- 16:06447, Jalen Tolbert is a 449, Jake Ferguson is a 481, and then
- 16:12Jonathan Mingo is a 446. So the only fast player you have
- 16:17is Turpin. So what do you do when you have
- 16:20speed, especially when you draft a guy who has speed?
- 16:23Do you put him on the bench and just not use him?
- 16:25If you're the Dallas Cowboys, probably.
- 16:27But what should you do is you should use it.
- 16:30You should use his speed and whether it's as a receiver, as a
- 16:34running back, as a returner, however you want to use this
- 16:37guy, just use his speed. And so I think that especially
- 16:41with the questions that the Cowboys have at the running back
- 16:43position, there's no like clear cut guy who's going to take over
- 16:47and be that workhorse back for the Cowboys.
- 16:50I think that Jayden Blue can step into a prominent role for
- 16:53the Cowboys this year, especially as it goes more and
- 16:56more into the season, because I think he's going to showcase
- 16:59that he has the ability to make explosive plays.
- 17:02It's also very possible that Dad gets hurt.
- 17:06Week 3. Week Four.
- 17:08Week 2. Or or week 1, you know.
- 17:10Week. One or before the season starts.
- 17:12Well, I, I feel like week one versus Eagles, I feel like
- 17:15that's very fitting. And so we're going to put Joe
- 17:18Milton in, which is great that you can throw the ball 100 yards
- 17:22with a 1/2 a step. That is he can't throw the ball
- 17:251 yard, OK, one yard throws 100 yards row and 100 yards.
- 17:29He just, he just goes, he just throws it really, really fall
- 17:33every single time. And so we're going to have to
- 17:35run the ball a lot as we've seen Christian McCaffrey, who also
- 17:38gets hurt from being a workhorse.
- 17:39You're going to need a slew of backs.
- 17:41So I agree you can get some time in there given the possible
- 17:46trajectory of the Dallas Cowboys.
- 17:48Possible trajectory? That's my positive spin.
- 17:53Yeah, real positive. Thank you for throwing that in
- 17:56there. All right, well now let's not
- 18:01talk about the Chicago Bears, the reason why we have our guest
- 18:04on today. So to start here Faison, do you
- 18:09want to start with some warm up questions or do you want to
- 18:12start off hot? Let let's go.
- 18:15Let's go, hot man. Yeah, look at this man.
- 18:17Let's. Go.
- 18:18OK, OK, here we go. So I told you I had a surprise
- 18:21question for you. OK, so here's my surprise
- 18:24question. So you are on record saying that
- 18:27the Chicago Bears are not only going to win their division to
- 18:32win the Super Bowl this year. This.
- 18:35Year. Where's the tattoo?
- 18:37Where'd you get? Where'd you put the tattoo?
- 18:40Well, hold on, hold on. Can we show it on the show?
- 18:44Not right now. OK.
- 18:49Subscribe to our Patreon, you can see exactly.
- 18:51Where it is there it is OK. So my question for you is, have
- 18:57you ever felt this way about any other Bears team?
- 19:01And if so, why is this team different from those teams?
- 19:05So you want me to be you? You want me to be honest or you
- 19:08want me to not be honest? We want you to be rational with
- 19:12your irrational take. Irrational take.
- 19:15OK, have I ever felt this way about any other Bears team?
- 19:20Yes, I, I'll, I'll admit it. I'll be on I, I.
- 19:23Every year. Every year, every year since I
- 19:25was born, I have felt this way. But but but.
- 19:29This is what happens when you're still 24 years old.
- 19:32You're 24 years old. You have been toughened it up.
- 19:37He's still 23, almost 24. OK.
- 19:39The rest of us are 32 or almost 32.
- 19:42We it is just another decade on top of it.
- 19:47I'm just being burnt. Tie after tie after time.
- 19:50You'll get there son, don't worry.
- 19:52I I probably will. I I.
- 19:54Remember that? I remember that Bears Colt Super
- 19:56Bowl. There you go, 2. 1007 Well, yes,
- 20:00so those are sixth season January 2007.
- 20:04Yes, same thing. Same.
- 20:05Same thing, Yes. I think, I think Bearden
- 20:08Bearden's going to talk about Ben Johnson here.
- 20:11You think so? Oh, I.
- 20:13Think that I think you should. You got it, you got it.
- 20:17No, I, I, I, I felt this way every year.
- 20:21But I will say, like Avery said, this year is different because
- 20:26because we have got a competent coach.
- 20:30Everybody's seen it. We have a competent coach, We
- 20:32have a competent quarterback that has made significant
- 20:34improvement. And I just the vibes at like
- 20:39Hallis Hall and Soldier feel everything just feels so put
- 20:42together, the ownership, the GM, the players, everybody just on
- 20:46the same page. And I, I just feel like the
- 20:48vibes have never been this high. And I hope it's not I'm I hope
- 20:52I'm not getting mistaken for this every like every other
- 20:56year, but this year, this is the year.
- 20:59All right, guys, this is the year you heard it.
- 21:01This is the year. So can we just go ahead and
- 21:03pencil you in for December 29th in between Christmas and New
- 21:09Year's and we'll do a in the season check in on the Cowboys
- 21:12and the Bears? We'll we'll compare our records
- 21:16and see, see who's the depressed one.
- 21:18Maybe we're both depressed by then, but.
- 21:20Maybe we mean maybe no. Well, and I already know we're
- 21:24going to be depressed, so you're.
- 21:25Going to be depressed. You're saying this is our year?
- 21:28I'm going in five and 12, baby, here we come. 5:00 and 12:00.
- 21:32Hey, man, it takes a lot of grit to be doing that.
- 21:35It takes a lot of grit to say that, but I can't.
- 21:37That's the difference between early 20s, early 30s as I show
- 21:41up depressed, pal, you show up happy still.
- 21:44Well, enjoy like this is all from a.
- 21:47Cowboys fan. This is all from a Cowboys fan.
- 21:49Like I want everybody to hear that.
- 21:51This is all coming from Cowboys fan.
- 21:52This is not new. People who have seen this show
- 21:55one time know we rack on the Cowboys the most.
- 21:59Yeah, coming from Will and Joel, who are 32 year old Cowboys
- 22:02fans, they've been depressed so long.
- 22:04What's depression? You know, this is, this is their
- 22:07life. You know, there is no sadness.
- 22:08It's just, it's what it is. Yeah.
- 22:11You'll get there. You'll get there.
- 22:14Not after this year. Not after this year.
- 22:16We're we're. Going we're going on the up,
- 22:18though. We're we're we're we're taking
- 22:21the fairy up, man. Keep that positivity up.
- 22:24I like it. All right, so we're going to
- 22:27stay hot here with the next question.
- 22:30So Will has openly hated on Caleb Williams several times on
- 22:34the show. I've heard it.
- 22:37Avery and I Avery and I have said some good things about
- 22:40Caleb Williams. We also said some bad things
- 22:42about Caleb Williams. But we have said some good
- 22:44things. But I want you to give Will your
- 22:48best come back as to why he should change his mind, as to
- 22:53why Caleb Williams is a bad quarterback.
- 22:55Avery and I hate on Will all the time and tell him he's wrong.
- 22:58And now we want you to join us and tell Will while he why he is
- 23:01wrong. He's a good quarterback because
- 23:04he paints his fingernails. That's all you need to know.
- 23:06No, I'm just kidding. That would OK, now you're 2
- 23:11steps back. So third and 18 now go ahead.
- 23:15Shit better than third and 20, all right?
- 23:18That's why that is 23 year old optimism right there, Dang.
- 23:27Man, I know Kayla like what did Caleb do to Will?
- 23:30Man, I want to know this. I want to know the history
- 23:32behind this. What has gone wrong with you
- 23:34and? Caleb Nothing personally.
- 23:36It's all just professional stuff, right?
- 23:37You know you get it. Yeah, No, I get it.
- 23:39I get it. I get it.
- 23:42No, I think I I'm not going to sit here and.
- 23:44Write a whole bibliography. As to why my quarterback is the
- 23:47best quarterback in the NFC North and if not in the entire
- 23:51NFL. But I'll leave you with this for
- 23:55the situation that that man was put in with a head coach being
- 23:58fired mid season. Mind you, the Bears have never
- 24:00done that in their entire franchise that they've had this.
- 24:03They have never fired a coach mid season because they are so
- 24:06traditional for having your head coach fired mid season.
- 24:10Having a incompetent, dumb offensive coordinator who never
- 24:14watched film with him and was out doing God knows what and for
- 24:19almost only 3700 yards as a rookie and having no
- 24:24interceptions in the last what, six to seven weeks of his his
- 24:27rookie year? It it, it got, it's got to take
- 24:31a lot of hate in you to hate on a guy like that.
- 24:33You know, you put your Dakota Prescott in that situation.
- 24:37He's not surviving that. Nobody survived that.
- 24:39Are you going to say Jayden Daniels?
- 24:42I hate him just as much. He's that Butcher fan, will.
- 24:50Hates pretty much everybody, so. I.
- 24:52Am the local hater on this show I I just said I love it I.
- 24:55Love it, I love it. That's what I.
- 24:57Need a lot of people there. He's our NFL Sith.
- 25:00He just lets the hate flow. Through he's like, he's like,
- 25:03he's like one of those guys on Twitter with those burner
- 25:05accounts like just always dogging on that one quarterback.
- 25:08And I, I, I've probably been in my mention so many times too
- 25:11with this burner account. But no, I think he's, he's, he's
- 25:16a good quarterback man. You, you have got to see his
- 25:19anticipation too from that preseason game last week.
- 25:22He's made significant improvements.
- 25:24And I'm not saying he's perfect. He still had his hiccups on that
- 25:26second drive. I, I know I, I saw it, but he's
- 25:29significantly got a lot better and the hate that he's getting.
- 25:32I think it only just feels him more.
- 25:33And I think this Ben Johnson effect will I'll, I'll talk to
- 25:37you by like week six or seven. You, you will agree with me.
- 25:40So we'll check in then. OK, I have a follow.
- 25:45Up question and this is about your social media post that you
- 25:48put out today so. You will and him.
- 25:51Yeah. You were talking about the
- 25:53preseason game between the Bears and the Chiefs, and you put up a
- 25:57picture of Caleb Williams and Patrick Mahomes and you said
- 26:00it's going to be the GOAT versus Patrick Mahomes.
- 26:04Do you truly believe that Caleb Williams will be the greatest
- 26:08quarterback of all time? He is the greatest quarterback
- 26:11of all time, and he is the greatest quarterback Chicago
- 26:14Bears I've ever seen. Yes, he will.
- 26:16He's probably already true. It is that last we second.
- 26:20Part we lift the other part. Yeah, it's probably true.
- 26:23Both parts. Both parts?
- 26:24What about Rex Grossman? Oh, Will, Will's got Will Will.
- 26:29We'll have something city about that.
- 26:30But you know. Kyle Horton, Jake Plummer, OH.
- 26:34My God, dude, we've been through so many.
- 26:36You guys are saying all these names.
- 26:37I'm. Like God damn.
- 26:38Hey, you can't forget about Cutler.
- 26:40He's the best quarterback. He he's the second best
- 26:43quarterback the Bears have ever had.
- 26:44It goes Caleb and Jay Cutler. Jay Cutler's the second best
- 26:47quarterback the Bears have ever had.
- 26:49Mr. Trubisky. Can't forget about the
- 26:53Nickelodeon MVP. I love Mitch, man.
- 26:55He got for for the hate he deserves too, man, It's sad.
- 26:58I'm I was happy to see him. But your question following up
- 27:01with your question, I think I think the GOAT is Caleb.
- 27:04He is the GOAT will be the GOAT for the Chicago Bears and the
- 27:08NFL in general and Patrick Mahomes.
- 27:10Yeah, if you guys want to throw in him in the mix, that's fine
- 27:12too. But the first is always going to
- 27:15be Caleb and he these quarterbacks don't get taken
- 27:18first overall for no reason, right?
- 27:20Like they they we obviously see something in them.
- 27:22We know we have confidence in the kid.
- 27:24It's just now it's it's every puzzle piece is coming together
- 27:27and the cookies never going to crumble the wrong way after this
- 27:30quarterback. So I know Will's like he's
- 27:33getting mad, like clenching his first, like damn.
- 27:35No, no, no, no. I'm just, you said you're taking
- 27:37first overall for nothing. I'm just thinking, Jamarcus
- 27:39Russell, That's fine. You keep doing.
- 27:41You keep doing your thing right? He went deep in his bag to get
- 27:46that one out, didn't he? He went to the bottom of the bag
- 27:50to pick that one out. Said Will.
- 27:51Said. That's midway through the bag.
- 27:54That's midway through the bag. You don't understand the depth
- 27:56of my hate, Sir. He's like Santa Claus over here.
- 28:01He's got infinite things in his bag.
- 28:07Will did say last week on our show that he was going to spend
- 28:09the entire week studying the bears and why they were bad.
- 28:14So I, I expect him to to have a full bag here, Yeah.
- 28:18His his hater watch is going deep in his bag.
- 28:20I'm here. You know what hate watching is?
- 28:22Still views OK. It is.
- 28:27It is. All right, so next question.
- 28:31So let's talk a little bit about Ben Johnson and we've kind of
- 28:35already mentioned him a little bit, But as someone who has
- 28:38seeing what Ben Johnson can do against your team with the
- 28:42Lions, how do you think he's going to do as the head coach of
- 28:45the Chicago Bears? Because in three years with the
- 28:48Lions, the Bears went one and five against his team and the
- 28:54the offense for Ben Johnson averaged 28.8 points per game in
- 28:58those six games. So how do you think he's going
- 29:01to do as the head coach of the Bears, as someone who has seen
- 29:05what he can do against the Bears?
- 29:07He's going to annihilate any defense and I want every viewer
- 29:10to know that Ben Johnson will be a menace to the NFL.
- 29:14And knowing what he's put us through, like those trick plays
- 29:18that he put out on Thanksgiving first versus US, it was uncalled
- 29:23for. And in the moment, I was so
- 29:26annoyed. I was like, what the hell is
- 29:27this? Like Jared Goff literally fell
- 29:29on the ground and it was just the goofiest thing I've seen.
- 29:33And knowing that now that is our prize possession as a Bears fan,
- 29:38that we have that creative skill set and mindset and a head coach
- 29:42for the first time ever. I, I, I know that what he's
- 29:46carried on from the Lions will only carry on to the Bears.
- 29:49And if not, it will be better than the Lions.
- 29:52And I know Jameer Gibbs and Aman Raj Hussain Brown sat sat down
- 29:56with Kay Adams a few days ago and she asked him the same
- 29:59questions. And they were even like
- 30:00startled. They were like, Oh my God, like
- 30:02his the offense was so good. Like it, it seemed good watching
- 30:06them. And that just shows the impact
- 30:08that he had on the lines because the Lions only success was
- 30:11because of Ben Johnson. And if I know a lot of people,
- 30:14Dan Campbell this Dan Campbell that no, Dan Campbell did not
- 30:17have that thug and mindset and creative skill set that Ben
- 30:20Johnson had. And now that he's on the Bears,
- 30:23he will only revamp that for us so.
- 30:25So follow up questions to that. So Ben Johnson was the offensive
- 30:30coordinator for three seasons with the the Detroit Lions.
- 30:35In his first season, the Lions went 9:00 and 8:00, and it was
- 30:40really only the last two seasons that the Lions have been like,
- 30:43really, really good and, you know, made the playoffs and won
- 30:47their division and all that. So do you think it's going to
- 30:49take a little bit of time or are you pretty confident it's going
- 30:53to be right down this year? It'll be it'll be it'll be this
- 30:56Friday. I know it's going to be this
- 30:57Friday versus Chiefs too, that that confidence, everything will
- 31:00show out. It doesn't it's not like he's
- 31:03never been in the NFL. It's not like he he doesn't know
- 31:05what he's doing. I know he everybody knows what
- 31:07he's doing. He's carried the Detroit Lions
- 31:09on his back for the three, Four Seasons.
- 31:11Whatever he was there for, he's carried that load.
- 31:14And all he has to do now is just unleash the part that no one's
- 31:18ever seen. And it's amazing that he has the
- 31:21generational quarterback that we have in Caleb Williams.
- 31:23So. Let me ask, I like Ben Johnson.
- 31:28I want to say that he went to Carolina.
- 31:31He's a Carolina guy. I saw that presser of him
- 31:34basically like what I imagined if I was one of the Bears
- 31:38players that was there for the paycheck, I'd be like, shit,
- 31:42like we're going to have to work.
- 31:43Like I saw one of the players say like, no, if coach tells you
- 31:47to do something and you mess up, like you get one shot.
- 31:49If you mess up again, you're done.
- 31:51You're done. For training camp, you're done.
- 31:54So I can see that on one hand like working, but also in my
- 32:01view might be skewed because I'm more of a college football guy.
- 32:04But that extra effort, that feels like more of a college
- 32:11thing because in college you don't have anything.
- 32:13You're working to get something. Where is in in in professional
- 32:17football? This is your job.
- 32:19You're looking to maintain your job.
- 32:21So it's like, you know, you got to do what you got to do.
- 32:23You know, some guys are looking to be great.
- 32:25A lot of guys are looking to keep their job.
- 32:28I'm curious if that is if there is a chance that has a
- 32:33possibility of backfiring, meaning there are some guys that
- 32:37just either don't buy in, they're not prepared or he's
- 32:41running too tight a ship where a program like the Bears and I am
- 32:46kind of comparing it to the Minnesota Timberwolves of a few
- 32:49years ago. I don't know.
- 32:50This is a deep this is my basketball little Family Guy
- 32:54moment where I'm taking it somewhere else.
- 32:56But they had a bunch of guys that didn't work very hard.
- 32:59And then Jimmy Butler came in there and he's like these these
- 33:02guys are slacking. And it just it basically like
- 33:06that whole team basically got reset because they just realized
- 33:08they had an entire culture of just kind of slacking and it
- 33:11required cleaning house. Now the Bears have kind of
- 33:14cleared cleaned house a little bit.
- 33:15And you did mention like there does seem to be this like, you
- 33:19know, new energy there. However, I can also see that
- 33:23since there hasn't been any games yet, a lot of that is
- 33:25based on pure optimism. Not necessarily.
- 33:29Oh, we've seen good stuff because I would say even in the
- 33:31preseason, you know, oh, we're going to see, you know, some
- 33:34greatness here. I would say I don't even think
- 33:36that is the rubric for success here.
- 33:38You're not trying to find 6. You're not trying to find
- 33:40success in this. You know, the score here, the
- 33:43plays they run, you're trying to figure out personnel so that you
- 33:45can hit it week 1. So I'm curious if, and I know
- 33:51I'm going to, I know the answer I'm going to get because you're
- 33:55clearly a ride or die Bears fans, Bears fan, but I'm just
- 33:58curious. This feels like something where
- 34:01it's kind of high risk, high reward, like you're running,
- 34:04you're redlining this. How do you see that?
- 34:07I guess what is because I know how you see it's going to go.
- 34:10They're going to win the Super Bowl.
- 34:12What's? What's the floor here?
- 34:14Give me a. Give me a scenario.
- 34:16Hold on. Before you go, let me give you 2
- 34:17examples to support the Avery's case.
- 34:19One, Chip Kelly and the Eagles, right?
- 34:22He came in, the Eagles tried to run it like a college team,
- 34:24didn't work. He got moved around a couple
- 34:26spots, had to go back to college.
- 34:28Now he's batting NFL as a coordinator.
- 34:30And two, arguably the greatest college quarter or college coach
- 34:34in history, arguably Nick Saban went to the Dolphins, which the
- 34:38Browns went around, went around a little bit and went right back
- 34:42to college because it wasn't the same.
- 34:44You don't have the same control. So yeah, with that in mind.
- 34:48Yeah, with with what Will said, that is one thing for sure.
- 34:51And I was asked the college thing.
- 34:53Fortunately, this guy has been in the NFL.
- 34:55However, this is his first time at the reins.
- 34:58Yeah, yeah. Anyway, so I'll let you go.
- 35:01What's what's what's worst case scenario here?
- 35:03I don't, I don't I I know you guys were talking about college
- 35:06and you're talking about the NBA, but if it wasn't to work, I
- 35:10think we'd already see signs. So right now we would see these
- 35:14signs really early on. We're in the preseason and I've
- 35:17been a training camp multiple times and I've seen the culture
- 35:20change. It is not a culture that is like
- 35:22you don't work harder, you get thrown out.
- 35:24I know that was something that was said on the media.
- 35:27It's not that they're throwing them out for the entire training
- 35:29camp. It's like if you're not working
- 35:30hard enough, you're not sprinting as far as fast as you
- 35:33can, then you're going to get talked to.
- 35:35And that's, I think that's a that's a good sign of coaching
- 35:37that the Bears have never had because we've always had that
- 35:40culture of you can lollygag and you cannot work as hard, but
- 35:44you'll still get around because the organization and the coaches
- 35:47don't care as long as they're just getting by and they're
- 35:50getting that paycheck, right? And we've seen that with
- 35:52multiple times with the Bears. We've seen multiple head coaches
- 35:54get recycled and just kind of we're taking like everybody
- 35:58scraps. But now with Ben Johnson, it's
- 36:00like, you know how hard he can work and then that's up up to
- 36:04his players. Now, if you want to be on his
- 36:06team, you know, you have to work hard.
- 36:08And you know, everybody has off days.
- 36:10And I've seen that at training camp too.
- 36:11Not everyone's going to have a perfect day.
- 36:13But he understands that if you listen to the guy talk like he
- 36:15understands that what he does in his first year is not going to
- 36:19be sunshine and rainbow. It's going to take a lot of time
- 36:22to adapt and it's going to be a lot of trial and error.
- 36:24So to answer your question, I know that it's going to take a
- 36:26lot of time and all delusion and bias aside, I know it's not
- 36:30going to click right away. It's not going to be Week 1
- 36:32where we see Caleb throw for 500 yards and five touchdowns.
- 36:35It's going to take time for all his players to develop skill
- 36:38wise, mental wise and physically.
- 36:41And we've seen the improvements from past coaches.
- 36:43But the perfect scenario is, yes, everything clicking.
- 36:46But I know deep down that it is a sport that involves everybody.
- 36:50And it's not just Ben Johnson. It's his, you know, coaching
- 36:53staff, it's his players, it's the organization, it's the
- 36:55owners, everybody coming together on the same page.
- 36:57And it's going to take time. But once it does click, it will
- 37:00show out that the Bears will, you know, dominate this, this
- 37:04league for a couple of years now.
- 37:06Up until that very last part, I was I, I.
- 37:08Agree. Just that very, very last part.
- 37:13Yeah, yeah. You do now, like the bears, a
- 37:15loose share, do we? You said like Bears dominate the
- 37:19league for a few years. I'm like, whoa.
- 37:22That doesn't sound not even a few years.
- 37:23I'm saying I'm, I'm going to say like for like at least like 710
- 37:27years for sure, OK. 55 and 12:00 to. 12/12 and 5/5/12 just flip
- 37:34it this year, just flip it 12-5. You think they're?
- 37:37Going to lose 5 games. Wow, I thought you had more
- 37:39faith in your bears, man. 12 is a good amount.
- 37:42We'll see this. We'll go through.
- 37:45We'll go through with you. Let's.
- 37:46Go 1717. And O. 17 OK, there we go, There
- 37:49we go. There we go. 17 and O.
- 37:52All right, so next question for you.
- 37:54So the Bears made eight draft picks in the 2025 NFL Draft.
- 37:59You've already talked about one of those picks as a rookie who
- 38:02could step into a prominent role.
- 38:03But which of those, which of the Bears draft picks do you think
- 38:07will have the biggest impact on the team this year?
- 38:09I'm going to say Colson Loveland, I know you guys, we
- 38:12talked about offense earlier, but I when he first got drafted,
- 38:17I will say I wasn't super high on Loveland because you have
- 38:21Tyler Warren, you have everybody else and you know that we have
- 38:24struggles in the trenches, which they kind of got rid of that
- 38:28problem early on before the draft with the signings of, you
- 38:32know, everybody that we got on the online.
- 38:34But I think Loveland is a very sneaky good guy.
- 38:38He he can block like a very traditional tight end.
- 38:42He can move like a very traditional George Kittle and
- 38:45his yards after a catch and his ability to make plays is very
- 38:51much like George Kittle. He is a mini George Kittle, not
- 38:54many physically wise, but in terms of playing and you know,
- 38:57age and all that, he is a mini George Kittle and he will make
- 39:01that big, big impact that Caleb needs from not only just
- 39:05catching a ball, but the blocking.
- 39:07We've seen a lot of struggles with our Bears players blocking,
- 39:10especially Cole Commack. He's had that struggle last year
- 39:12and I think with Loveland now with his his physicality and his
- 39:17IQ, he will make that big impact and leap, help Caleb make that
- 39:22leap for this year. All right, so Avery actually
- 39:25said when we're leading up to the draft, Avery was studying
- 39:29Colson Loveland and he actually said that his potential, it's
- 39:33not out of the question for him to be on the same level as
- 39:36George Kittle. Oh, there you.
- 39:38Go. So that was actually a a good
- 39:39comparison. Avery, do you have anything to
- 39:41say? He's got He's also on my.
- 39:44Top ten tied end list. There you go.
- 39:47There you go. I think I think he's going to
- 39:49have AI think he's going to have a good season.
- 39:50I actually, I don't like the bears.
- 39:53I like to crap on the bears. I don't like your colors.
- 39:55I don't like your logos big. Birds.
- 40:01I will say the hat looks pretty clean.
- 40:03The hat looks pretty clean. Just not a big fan of just the
- 40:05intense orange and the dark muted blue.
- 40:09I it's just but that's irrelevant.
- 40:12But I do think I do think Caleb Williams, I think he was in a
- 40:15bad position last year. I think he's going to do better.
- 40:17I think Colson Lovin's going to do a lot better.
- 40:19I do think Ben Johnson is going to carry that team.
- 40:22I guess my thing is more just the other teams in that division
- 40:28are going to be tough. And so it's one of those things
- 40:30where I'm honestly more than anything I think it's I think
- 40:34it's going to be pretty even. I think it's going to be a dog
- 40:36fight in there. I think Green Bay will end up in
- 40:39last. I don't think you'll end up. 1st
- 40:41but. I think Green Bay will be last.
- 40:43Oh, I love that man. Oh, that's what a Bears fan
- 40:45wants to hear right there, yeah. All day, all day.
- 40:48Oh yeah, that's right. You guys don't like, Yeah, you
- 40:49guys, I didn't even say that for you.
- 40:53I just genuinely think they're going to end up last.
- 40:55But no, I think I, I am, I am excited to see where that goes.
- 40:58But I do think, I do think Loveland, I think he will, as
- 41:02much as I think he can contribute now, I think he's one
- 41:06of those guys that steadily improves for the next like 4 to
- 41:10five years with just that like slight step every time.
- 41:14But yeah. All that I agree.
- 41:18Will, did you have anything to say?
- 41:19You should be noted I also had Colston Loveland on my top ten
- 41:24Titans. Which is that?
- 41:26But he but he hated it. He.
- 41:28Chose when he said it. Everything I'm hidden not to
- 41:30write that down. It was like shaky no.
- 41:33No, I I did say it because bad quarterbacks need safety
- 41:37blankets. And you believe there was
- 41:39something about Caleb Williams and your Binky and his say D Bob
- 41:43or something, something like that.
- 41:46That was JJ. McCarthy.
- 41:47Yeah. JJ McCarthy.
- 41:48All right, you know what? I'll give you that.
- 41:50You, Caleb Williams will be better this year than JJ
- 41:53McCarthy. OK, I can.
- 41:54I can confidently say that. That's a known fact.
- 41:58I don't even need reassurance. That's a known fact.
- 42:00Well, that is a known. Fact.
- 42:01That is the nicest thing I'll say about Caleb Williams, the
- 42:03show. He will be better than JJ
- 42:06McCarthy with less weapons. So there's that.
- 42:12He has the best, best wide receiver we have ever seen in
- 42:16Justin Jefferson. That's what I'm saying Caleb
- 42:18Williams will be better with. Less weapon.
- 42:20Oh, I see, I see. I.
- 42:21Thought you played. I was like I.
- 42:23Thought you meant that. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 42:26It's a second there. I was wondering which Bears
- 42:29receiver you were going to say. I was like, what receiver we've
- 42:32ever seen? Like who is it?
- 42:36Who's Justin Jefferson? No idea.
- 42:40Never heard of him. Never heard of?
- 42:43Them I have nothing else to add. I had to get one nice thing
- 42:46about the bears in the entire thing, and that was.
- 42:51OK, All right. So this question, there's going
- 42:54to be this next question and then the next question, I'm
- 42:57going to force you to say something negative about the
- 43:01Bears, OK, OK. So this this next question
- 43:07though, is what is this the biggest strength of this Bears
- 43:09team? Depth.
- 43:11We have depth in every position that the football is centered
- 43:15around. You got quarterback, you got
- 43:18wide receiver, you got running back, you got safety, you got
- 43:21DPS, you got anything. You We have depth in every
- 43:25single position that you need to operate a football team and we
- 43:30have the best depth chart in the NFC North.
- 43:33So I know the dogfight is a thing, but we have depth at
- 43:36every position and that will lead to the success of this
- 43:38team. OK.
- 43:39So the next question is, if there was one thing that's going
- 43:43to hold the Bears back this year, what is that going to be?
- 43:47So in other words, what is the biggest weakness of this Bears
- 43:50team? Inconsistency at the online,
- 43:53that has always been a problem for the Chicago Bears in the
- 43:57years that we've had this franchise.
- 43:58The inconsistentness of a freaking online is.
- 44:02So it's always a thing. It's always something that will
- 44:06linger around and we made several improvements this year.
- 44:12We we improved the trenches like no other.
- 44:14We spent so much money on Dolman, everybody.
- 44:17But one position that's still up in the air up until today at
- 44:21this current moment is our left tackle is our left tackle like
- 44:25Braxton Jones is? I love Braxton.
- 44:29I have a lot of hope for him. I've had a lot of hope for him.
- 44:31But his injury and his lack of kind of reading where a defender
- 44:37is going to go has continued to linger up until camp.
- 44:41And now pre season. We saw it against the Bills.
- 44:43He completely crossed himself up on a route from the edge rusher.
- 44:47And I was just blown away because I have so much, you
- 44:50know, anticipation for him. And we got Ozzy Tropelo.
- 44:54He's really good. He's a massive guy coming from,
- 44:57you know, I've seen him at camp, but he is a giant, enormous
- 45:00human being. Isn't he again?
- 45:03Yeah, he is massive. He was sitting standing as a
- 45:06Caleb and I was like, holy crap, like this is a big difference.
- 45:09He he's very intimidating. He's a good defender.
- 45:11He again is a rookie. I don't want to throw a rookie
- 45:14into a massive show on Monday Night Football.
- 45:18And he he's someone that we have to develop over time.
- 45:21He's going to be good. But I think the lack of
- 45:24inconsistentness at the online will continue to bite us.
- 45:27And if they can figure out what what we're doing upfront and
- 45:31then, you know, Caleb will have the success.
- 45:33But if it if it comes down to one thing that holds us back,
- 45:37it's going to be it's going to be that old line.
- 45:39All right, so got it. Just a couple more questions
- 45:41here for you. So this next one is which team
- 45:46in the NFC North is the biggest threat to the Bears this year?
- 45:50None. I'm kidding.
- 45:52I'm kidding. I'll say the Detroit Lions.
- 45:54I'll say the Detroit Lions. I think the Detroit Lions.
- 45:56Everybody was really even myself when Aaron Glenn left and Ben
- 46:01Johnson left. Of course, you lose 2 of your
- 46:03top coordinators and Ben Johnson took players and coordinators
- 46:06from the Detroit Lions with him to Chicago.
- 46:09But overall, they have gotten the pieces that they need.
- 46:12And they still have Dan Campbell, which is, you know,
- 46:15respect to him. He's a great coach of men.
- 46:18He's very, he's full of great and he's full of attitude and
- 46:21that's what you need in a coach. Again, the Detroit Lions have
- 46:24every position that you need and they have a A1A position at
- 46:28that. You got Hutch, you got Kamir
- 46:29Gibbs, you got D Mont, you got Goff, you got Ahman Raw, you
- 46:33have Jameson Williams that they have.
- 46:35They can go on and on. They have a lot of good players
- 46:37not only on the offense, but on the defensive side of the ball
- 46:39too. And I think the Bears and Lions
- 46:43hate each other the least out of that entire division.
- 46:46So I'll give them, you know, their flowers.
- 46:48But again, if I had to choose, I would choose nobody.
- 46:51But if I'm forced to choose, I will choose.
- 46:53I'll I'll choose the Detroit romance.
- 46:56OK. I would agree with you.
- 46:57I also think it's the Lions because you know, everybody
- 47:00talks about, like you mentioned, they lost their coordinators,
- 47:02but they still have a lot of the same key players on that team.
- 47:06So you have the the players who are actually the ones out on the
- 47:09field doing the work, like getting the job done.
- 47:12And so you have those players who have that experience getting
- 47:15to where they've gone. And so I agree, I think it's the
- 47:18Lions as well. Yeah.
- 47:20All right, so my last official question for you, it's not
- 47:23really question, but we're going to do a game by game win loss
- 47:26prediction for the oh Will. 'S getting his hands ready.
- 47:28He's like, let's go, let's hear. This, I mean you're going to,
- 47:30you've already said 7 to you and 12:00 and 5:00.
- 47:33So I'm not going to be surprised here.
- 47:36I want you to preface how you're grading these so that the
- 47:39audience so that chat knows. Yeah, that's the chat already.
- 47:43Let's just be honest. About it, Let's do it.
- 47:48All right, so game by game win loss prediction for the Bears.
- 47:51So we'll start with Week 1, home versus the Vikings.
- 47:55W easy. I think it no Jordan Addison
- 47:57under the lights at Soldier Field Monday Night Football
- 48:00prime time game. We're we're we're we're going to
- 48:03be we're it's going to be a bloodbath.
- 48:04No Jordan Addison JJ McCarthy is going to get annihilated by
- 48:08Montez sweat. So that's that's one and all
- 48:10right there. I agree with most of what you
- 48:11just said. All right, Week 2 at the Lions.
- 48:20You can say it, there's no shame in it.
- 48:22I'll I'll give the Lions this one.
- 48:24I'll give the Lions this first game at at Ford Field.
- 48:26I think I think the crowd is going to be showing up and it
- 48:30they will be booing very loudly. It will be a dogfight.
- 48:34But I, I do think the lions out of all bias see, I think they do
- 48:37think the lions take this one at home.
- 48:39OK. Week 3 home versus the Dallas
- 48:42Cowboys. Oh my God, I wouldn't be
- 48:45surprised if it's like 50 to 0. Like I I would hope that the
- 48:50Cowboys forfeit this game because it's going to be that
- 48:53bad of a game. Like these are the most
- 48:55expensive tickets for a home game.
- 48:58Is that Cowboys game for what reason?
- 49:01I don't know why people are going to go pay to see Dakota
- 49:03Prescott, but I wouldn't be surprised if it is a complete
- 49:07bloodbath and Jerry Jones is watching in the suite and just
- 49:10nodding his head. Yeah, that's a big reason we're
- 49:13not going to see the Cowboys in Vegas because the tickets were
- 49:16like 3 times as much like. I don't get it.
- 49:20You guys traveled well, I get that.
- 49:21But Oh my God. Like that?
- 49:23Well, jeez. Yeah, we're actually going to go
- 49:26see the Raiders and Jaguars instead Is of the Raiders and.
- 49:29They're actually paying. Super Bowl Super.
- 49:30Bowl match, that's. Yeah.
- 49:32That's that's a crazy match. You can pay to go see that one,
- 49:34Yeah. Who's the Raiders starting
- 49:36quarterback? Can can someone who is that just
- 49:39missed? No, I couldn't even name him,
- 49:43man. But yeah, I couldn't even name
- 49:46it. All right, Speaking of the
- 49:49Raiders, Week 4 at the Raiders. Again, like a bloodbath.
- 49:53W easy. What are we at?
- 49:55Three in one. Easy.
- 49:57Yeah. So we're at win, loss, win, win.
- 50:02Yep. All right, so week. 5 is a buy.
- 50:06So week week 6 at the commanders.
- 50:09I was supposed to go to this game, man.
- 50:10I'm so I know and I know Commanders fans are probably
- 50:14like, my God, Commanders are wearing these black jerseys.
- 50:16I hope everybody, if you're listening to this, yeah,
- 50:17Commanders are wearing their little black diva uniforms,
- 50:20their black uniforms, whatever. I do think we get over.
- 50:24No, we will be getting our revenge in Washington and we we
- 50:29will. It will be a good game.
- 50:31All respect to Jane Daniels. One, he's generational just as
- 50:35much as Caleb is. Caleb is more, but whatever he
- 50:40it, it'll be a good game and it is my birthday weekend and so I
- 50:44would love to see W. So I'm going to give a bear.
- 50:46I'm going to give him a close match.
- 50:47If I'm going to say it's like 1-2 point game, like I I
- 50:49wouldn't be surprised if that ends off on a game-winning field
- 50:51goal instead of a game-winning Hail Mary, which I don't want to
- 50:54ever see or hear about. But I do think Cairo comes down
- 50:58and it's going to be like a game-winning sort of situation.
- 51:01But I think the Bears take this one in a very close match.
- 51:04OK. All right.
- 51:06Week 7, home versus the Saints. We all know this is a loss, so
- 51:09just you can just admit it. Yeah, I think the Saints are
- 51:11going to kill us for sure. I'm kidding.
- 51:14I'm kidding. I think I.
- 51:14Was shocked. All right, I'll think someone
- 51:18will win right there. That's a really I, I, again, I
- 51:21can't name the Saints quarterback like they haven't.
- 51:24And everybody's basically named their starting quarterback
- 51:26besides the Saints. It's I, I'll, I'll be happy to
- 51:29see Alvin Kamara. I hope he, I hope he does well
- 51:31because I have him in a fantasy league, but it's it's not going
- 51:34to be close. All right, Week 8 at the Ravens.
- 51:37That's going to be an L, It's going to be an L I'll be up
- 51:41front. Lamar, it's going to be it's
- 51:43going to be a lot. It's going to be a lot.
- 51:45Lamar is Lamar. He's the MDP of this league, one
- 51:48of the best quarterbacks, that of my generate of our this whole
- 51:52generation. So he's he's he's he's they're
- 51:55going to kill us, not kill us. I take that back.
- 51:57They they will do really well against us.
- 52:00All right, Week 9 at the Bengals.
- 52:05I think I'm going to this game, honestly.
- 52:06Balls more than at Cincinnati back-to-back weeks.
- 52:10I don't know what they they want, Like they they just I
- 52:13don't know. That's that's I think that that
- 52:16that'll be an L2. I think back-to-back weeks,
- 52:19traveling on a short week, not being home away from home and,
- 52:22you know, having to play in two very rowdy cities and with
- 52:26rowdy, thirsty fan bases, it's going to be it's going to be a
- 52:30good game, you know, Burrell and Caleb, but I think that's a that
- 52:33that might be a loss to my book. OK, Week 10 at home versus the
- 52:37Giants. That's going to be AW again.
- 52:41I don't I Russell Wilson, I if he's even starting by then
- 52:45that's I really hope he is, but I don't.
- 52:48Joel put it on the sheet. I think Russell Wilson will not
- 52:54be starting by that game you. Remember Nice, no?
- 52:57It's been James there. Dart, dart.
- 53:01If Jackson Dart is starting Week 10 versus the Bears, are the
- 53:05Giants winning? Shimmer me temper Jackson Dart.
- 53:11Wow, big difference from Russell Wilson.
- 53:13And then is, is is on board with with where we're at?
- 53:16Jackson is my Jackson. Dart is my goat.
- 53:21Yeah, yeah, I think he makes a big difference for Malik,
- 53:24neighbors and wherever the hell their running back is.
- 53:26But no, that's not even close. The Bears.
- 53:28Are too much. Let's go scatter boob.
- 53:32Yeah. No, it's not.
- 53:33It's not going to be close. He's going to be the new Daniel
- 53:35Jones, the new Zach Wilson, the new Zach.
- 53:39Wilson They're all going to get recycled over and over and over
- 53:42again. All right, Week 11 at the
- 53:45Vikings. That'll be AW again.
- 53:48All right. Week 12 at home versus Steelers.
- 53:51Oh easy. WI want to see Aaron Rodgers be
- 53:54back at that field and I want him to get like blown up with
- 53:59don't take that wrong, but I want him to get annihilated.
- 54:03But he owns the Bears. I know he's just According to
- 54:07him, he's the second owner. I don't know how he can beat our
- 54:09owner, no. He didn't.
- 54:11Your owner just died earlier this year.
- 54:14Rest in peace. Yeah, Bridget.
- 54:16OK. All the respect on that one.
- 54:21Yeah, You know, Avery saved me. Avery saved me There, there.
- 54:23But she. Lived a long life like you can't
- 54:26say. No one can say she was taken
- 54:28from us too early. No 102.
- 54:31Yeah, she was alive for a very long time, so.
- 54:35OK, too bad you won't be allowed to see this Bears win the Super
- 54:37Bowl this year. No, she, but, you know, we're,
- 54:39we're, we're doing it for her this year because, you know, we
- 54:41got that big old patch right here too.
- 54:42Remembering herself, all right. Joe, you got a spreadsheet that
- 54:46will be Will Howard starting by then.
- 54:48Aaron Rodgers will be dust by that point of the season.
- 54:51He's going to I wouldn't be surprised if every bone is
- 54:53broken in his body by then so but I want him to play against
- 54:58the Bears. I wanted to play.
- 54:59I pray, I pray that my Bears defense visits gives him a good
- 55:03homage to never come back to solar field so.
- 55:06What would happen? What would happen if that was
- 55:08the last game he played? He plays there, loses and like
- 55:11gets carted off or whatever, just doesn't come back.
- 55:14That's like his tombstone is at the soldier.
- 55:17Field he can never. He can never say it.
- 55:19Yeah, he can never say that he owns us or he.
- 55:22Can never speakers that would be conic for Bears fans.
- 55:26Every Bears fan would put a picture of him walking up the
- 55:29field, sad, right next to their tissue box and lotion on their
- 55:32night stand for every night. I just want to say, and I'm
- 55:37bringing basketball back into this, that would be just like if
- 55:41when Carolina beat Coach K on his homecourt for the last game
- 55:47and then face them in the Final Four for the first time they had
- 55:51ever matched up in tournament history and beat them.
- 55:57It doesn't matter any any Austin Rivers buzzer beater.
- 56:00Irrelevant now. Irrelevant.
- 56:03Nothing matters up on just that moment mattered.
- 56:05And that's that's what I want. I want that same exact thing.
- 56:08Oh. I can feel it now.
- 56:09I want it, I want it, I want it. I, I think, I think Bear's sense
- 56:14of shriek. I think we, and if that ever
- 56:16happened, I think everybody would just rampage onto the
- 56:18field and just rejoice with joy, dude.
- 56:22The king is dead. Oh man.
- 56:28Yeah, OK. Week 13 at the Eagles.
- 56:33Hello. Sorry, now we're not there, huh?
- 56:38All right. And then week 14 at Green Bay.
- 56:42W I'll give them this one. I'll, I'll, I'll say we take
- 56:45this one. We we got.
- 56:48We got we'll we'll want to know already.
- 56:50I hope every package and we all want to know in 2025 versus that
- 56:54sorry team and it's only going to continue to go up.
- 56:56We are not Jordan Love is nothing but a fluke.
- 57:00He's nothing but a product of his Matt Lafleur and he's
- 57:04already injured right now. And if he continues to have this
- 57:07injury problem, Oh my God, we're going to have a field day versus
- 57:09kid if he can't stay healthy. So all.
- 57:13Right Week 15 at home versus the Browns.
- 57:18You guys can guess this one from me.
- 57:20All right, that's about you. Which which Browns quarterback
- 57:24do you think will be starting by at that point this season?
- 57:26Shador, Shador. They'll be on their 6th
- 57:29quarterback by then. Yeah, Shador.
- 57:33Though I think it'll be Kirk Cousins.
- 57:38It's a good one, not. Even on the Browns currently.
- 57:41Yeah, but I wouldn't, I think not.
- 57:43The most quarterbacks. I think, yeah, I wouldn't be
- 57:45mine. I wouldn't.
- 57:46Honestly, maybe yeah. And either it was mine.
- 57:48Would you all like shipped out? Actually, that's not that's not
- 57:51bad. We can see that.
- 57:52That kind of things. Kirk Cousins is the ultimate
- 57:56substitute teacher quarterback in the NFL.
- 57:58Dude, it's like bringing Kirk. He's pretty good.
- 58:02He's not great, but he's pretty good.
- 58:03He'll he'll, he'll be around some way somehow.
- 58:05Just just get his agent on the phone.
- 58:07He'll he'll come around all. Right Week 16 at home versus the
- 58:13Packers. W.
- 58:15All right, Week 17 is at 49ers and.
- 58:18That might be an L All all these RO teams have fairy, especially
- 58:22the 49ers have a very loud Levi's Stadium stadium.
- 58:26And they are. They're thirsty for their little
- 58:30Brock Purdy, whatever Diva quarterback that they got up
- 58:32there, but I think their defence will hold it down for them all
- 58:37right. And then they finish the season
- 58:39Week 18 at home versus the Lions.
- 58:42I think that's just the W for the.
- 58:43Division. Possibly for the division.
- 58:46Because the. Lions.
- 58:47Are are have subbed out all their starters 'cause they're
- 58:51these sticks from. These books Avery's got a
- 58:54Avery's got a big old book of excuses right here.
- 58:59It's like when the Broncos beat the Chiefs or whoever it was
- 59:02when they had all their players out.
- 59:04Like, look at that. They beat the Chiefs like they
- 59:06beat their practice squad. Practice squad, Yeah, that's
- 59:12that's it for me. What was that record?
- 59:15So that was no, that was 13 and 4.
- 59:19Even better, thirteen and four. That's the ceiling.
- 59:22That's that says high as it gets, not says high as it gets.
- 59:25All right, 13 and 4, winning the division and winning the Super
- 59:28Bowl. Winning the Super bowl this year
- 59:30up market 20252026 The Chicago Bears are Super Bowl champions
- 59:35come back to me in this in January.
- 59:38Wait, would that win the division if the Lions win out
- 59:43except for the? Last one, I think that wins out
- 59:47the Division I. Mean if the lions.
- 59:49The Lions go undefeated. Except for that that one loss,
- 59:52because that would put him tied with you.
- 59:55They're they're not gone undefeated and they're not.
- 59:57Well, it doesn't, it doesn't necessarily mean if you have the
- 59:59most division wins, it doesn't necessarily mean that you're
- 1:00:01winning the division because it it is off your other wins and
- 1:00:05losses as well record. I think it's it's based on
- 1:00:07record. Like somehow the Packers were
- 1:00:10they made the playoffs when they were one and five in their
- 1:00:13division last year. One in five is crazy.
- 1:00:16One in five is crazy. And that one win, I think came
- 1:00:19out of our illegal block. Was this last year?
- 1:00:22Were they one in five last year? Yeah.
- 1:00:23That, you know, by the way, for anybody listening to this and
- 1:00:26Eucliptus, that one Packers win came off an illegal block
- 1:00:31against the Chicago Bears. And so I just want everybody
- 1:00:35know that it was illegal, but you know, we can give them that
- 1:00:38one one and. It's so funny because I.
- 1:00:40Was right in front of that. I was right in front that pylon
- 1:00:42too. I saw it get blocked in front of
- 1:00:43my eyes. I was right at that pylon where
- 1:00:46there's. Two holds every play.
- 1:00:47There's illegal plays every play.
- 1:00:49What was it legal about the block?
- 1:00:51Where, how, how far, how far back are you in your in your in
- 1:00:54your in ski spook right now? Patrick Mahomes was there and he
- 1:01:00wanted the Packers to win. So the referees just said, OK,
- 1:01:02we'll give it to the Packers. Illegal flags, everything.
- 1:01:06Everything was put away. No, no flags, no nothing was
- 1:01:08thrown. Just cause Patrick Mahomes made
- 1:01:10the call. He was there.
- 1:01:13All right, well, that's all the questions that we have for you,
- 1:01:16but I want you to to do one last thing for us before we sign off
- 1:01:19here. I want you to send a message to
- 1:01:22all the Bears fans out there as to why they should be optimistic
- 1:01:26this season with the Chicago Bears.
- 1:01:28I will say it again, and every Bears fans knows this, the
- 1:01:31vibes, the culture, the environment that we have is
- 1:01:35something that we've never seen before.
- 1:01:37It is different. It is a culture shock.
- 1:01:39It is a culture change and we have every piece to be
- 1:01:43successful and we will be successful.
- 1:01:45We just need to get together every week and just keep
- 1:01:48supporting and keep grinding. We will be winning the Super
- 1:01:51Bowl. Just stay optimistic, stay
- 1:01:54happy. We have Ben Johnson.
- 1:01:55If you can't sleep at night, just remember you have Ben
- 1:01:58Johnson as a head coach and most people and most teams cannot say
- 1:02:02that. So that's that's that.
- 1:02:05We're going to end up harvesting this episode for a lot of clips
- 1:02:07by the end of the season. You're going to get.
- 1:02:12Shredded every time the Bears lose.
- 1:02:16That's a win 25 to 0. All the Packers fans are going
- 1:02:21to flood it. I have dude, I hope they have
- 1:02:25nothing that they will have nothing to say because their
- 1:02:27quarterback is a fluke and injury prone quarterback.
- 1:02:29So. I'm excited to see it.
- 1:02:31Yeah. All right, well, thank you to
