- 0:00SPEAKER_00: Welcome aboard, tech enthusiasts.
- 0:02SPEAKER_00: Today we're diving into the latest buzz from the social media skies.
- 0:06SPEAKER_00: We'll explore how BlueSky is taking a bold leap into the AI realm with an innovative assistant designed to customize your social media feeds.
- 0:14SPEAKER_00: Buckle up as we navigate this exciting development.
- 0:18SPEAKER_00: In the world of social media, BlueSky is making headlines with its new AI assistant, Addy.
- 0:24SPEAKER_00: This innovation comes courtesy of BlueSky's chief innovation officer Jay Graeber and her exploration team.
- 0:31SPEAKER_00: Now, before you start thinking just another chatbot, let me assure you, Addy's more like the co-pilot you didn't know you needed.
- 0:38SPEAKER_00: It's designed to be an agentic social app that allows users to create personalized social media feeds with ease.
- 0:45SPEAKER_00: Utilizing the open source framework known as the AT protocol, Addy lets users communicate in natural language.
- 0:52SPEAKER_00: You can simply type prompts like, show me electronic music and experimental sound from people in my network, or builders working on agent infrastructure and open protocol design, and voila, your custom feed is ready to taxi down the runway of your social experience.
- 1:10SPEAKER_00: Grabber describes ADI as feeling more like having a conversation than configuring software, which is a breath of fresh air in a world of tech that often feels like it's stuck in a holding pattern.
- 1:21SPEAKER_00: While Addy operates as a separate app from BlueSky, the potential for cross-app implementation is tantalizing.
- 1:28SPEAKER_00: Imagine a seamless integration between BlueSky and other applications built on the AT protocol.
- 1:35SPEAKER_00: It's like dreaming of cruising at 30,000 feet without the turbulence of switching between apps.
- 1:40SPEAKER_00: Currently, Addy is available through an invite-only closed beta, but you can hop on the waitlist through its website.
- 1:46SPEAKER_00: It's an exciting time for users eager to curate their social media experience without needing a computer science degree or a flight manual for that matter.
- 1:56SPEAKER_00: Now, buckle up, we're entering turbulent skies.
- 2:00SPEAKER_00: As we transition from social media to the broader implications of AI, we need to raise a crucial question: how much control do we really want to hand over to these intelligent tools?
- 2:12SPEAKER_00: While the convenience is undeniable, it's like having your very own autopilot, the balance between personalization and privacy becomes a delicate dance.
- 2:21SPEAKER_00: With AI in charge of our feeds, are we giving up too much of our choice?
- 2:27SPEAKER_00: It's a thought-provoking scenario that merits consideration as we embrace these advancements, especially since no one wants their social media experience to feel like an emergency landing.
- 2:38SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 2:38SPEAKER_00: We're entering clear skies now.
- 2:41SPEAKER_00: Feel free to remove your seatbelt and roam around a little.
- 2:44SPEAKER_00: Returning to the lighter side of tech, it's clear that Blueski's Addy is set to redefine how we interact with social media.
- 2:51SPEAKER_00: By prioritizing user-friendly customization, it's paving the way for a more engaging online experience, kind of like a first-class upgrade to your tech life.
- 3:00SPEAKER_00: As we continue to watch how this unfolds, let's keep our eyes on the horizon for what's next in the world of social media innovation.
- 3:08SPEAKER_00: I've added links to all the products mentioned in this episode down in the show notes.
- 3:13SPEAKER_00: If you use those links, it's a small way to support the show and it means a lot to me.
- 3:18SPEAKER_00: Until next time, keep creating, keep adapting, and remember, the future doesn't wait for permission.
- 3:24SPEAKER_00: This is Captain Overfit, signing off.
