- 0:01Speaker 1: Now seven or presents the Mark Simon Shaw. Hey, it's
- 0:11Speaker 1: Friday already. It's the good news. It's gonna be pretty nice.
- 0:14Speaker 1: There'll be a shower, a thundershow other it would be nice.
- 0:16Speaker 1: Sun is out not bad today. We got a lot
- 0:19Speaker 1: to get to. We'll get to Iran. There's some serious
- 0:22Speaker 1: threats from Iran, but we'll be able to deal with them.
- 0:25Speaker 1: We'll get some crazy mom Donnie. We'll get to We'll
- 0:29Speaker 1: get to Marco Rubio just made a great move. We'll
- 0:32Speaker 1: get to that. We'll get to these stupid e bikes,
- 0:35Speaker 1: and a whole lot more coming up. We'll get to
- 0:38Speaker 1: the Rolling Stones and Taylor Swift, we get the real
- 0:42Speaker 1: cost of the wedding, and a whole lot more coming up.
- 0:47Speaker 1: You may have seen the President Trump, who's got this
- 0:49Speaker 1: big new Air Force one. Cutter gave us a jet,
- 0:54Speaker 1: the most spectacular jet. It's a flying palace. It's way
- 0:57Speaker 1: beyond Air Force one inside and beauty and luxury, and
- 1:02Speaker 1: the Pentagon refitted it to make it, put in all
- 1:05Speaker 1: the security, safety, communications, everything they need in Air Force one.
- 1:10Speaker 1: Cost a couple hundred million to do that, and the
- 1:13Speaker 1: President's been using that plane. But when he left the
- 1:15Speaker 1: NATO summit, all of a sudden they brought back the
- 1:18Speaker 1: old Air Force one. He made up some excuse about
- 1:24Speaker 1: how the new one was in England so that the
- 1:26Speaker 1: military could take a look at it. Didn't make any sense.
- 1:28Speaker 1: His explanation making no sense. Obviously it was for security reasons.
- 1:33Speaker 1: Apparently the old Air Force one has incredible anti missile
- 1:38Speaker 1: defense systems in it and the new one doesn't. Now,
- 1:43Speaker 1: the present was in another part of the world NATO
- 1:46Speaker 1: summ It's one thing if you're flying around within America,
- 1:49Speaker 1: you really don't have to worry about a missile threat,
- 1:51Speaker 1: But when you're in the Middle East or somewhere else,
- 1:53Speaker 1: you gotta worry about it. He was in Turkey, and
- 1:57Speaker 1: apparently our intelligence got worried that Iran was going to
- 2:01Speaker 1: try to kill him, that Air Force one was a target.
- 2:04Speaker 1: Israeli intelligence, which is very good, notified us that they
- 2:09Speaker 1: were picking up a threat against Air Force one. So
- 2:12Speaker 1: that's why the old Air Force one was quickly brought
- 2:15Speaker 1: over there. He could fly back on that because it
- 2:17Speaker 1: has a full anti missile defense system. But I've never
- 2:21Speaker 1: seen this before. If you look at some of the pictures,
- 2:25Speaker 1: it had an incredible escort of military fighter jets. I've
- 2:28Speaker 1: seen it before where Air Force one is flying and
- 2:32Speaker 1: there's two or three fighter jets on one on each
- 2:34Speaker 1: side and one behind it to protect it. But this
- 2:39Speaker 1: was fifteen or twenty fighter jets surrounding Air Force One
- 2:43Speaker 1: as it left, as it crossed the ocean until it
- 2:45Speaker 1: got back to the US. Never never seen that before.
- 2:49Speaker 1: So they're taking this threat very seriously. We knew that
- 2:54Speaker 1: Iran had been targeting President Trump for assassination last couple
- 2:58Speaker 1: of years, and pretty much everybody believes now that's what
- 3:01Speaker 1: Butler was Pennsylvania the last two assassination attempts. It doesn't
- 3:07Speaker 1: usually with an assassin like that. You find some crazy
- 3:13Speaker 1: nutjob want to be assassin, and then if you're Iran
- 3:16Speaker 1: or whoever, you back the guy. You get him to
- 3:19Speaker 1: the right place and give them support and you get
- 3:22Speaker 1: them to you get this guy to take the shot.
- 3:24Speaker 1: A lot of people think that's what Leo Harvey Oswald was.
- 3:28Speaker 1: He was an assassin all his life. He was a
- 3:31Speaker 1: nut who's always trying to shoot people. So a lot
- 3:33Speaker 1: of people believe the Russians or the Cubans, or the
- 3:36Speaker 1: mob or somebody found this guy and got them up
- 3:39Speaker 1: there in that window.
- 3:40Speaker 2: So that's a big threat.
- 3:42Speaker 1: Now, apparently Iran has sent a lot of deadly drones
- 3:48Speaker 1: to Cuba, a lot of them. They've given Cuba three
- 3:54Speaker 1: hundred kami Kazi drones. They're pretty deadly and they've got
- 3:57Speaker 1: long range. These drones can go fifteen hundred miles. Cuba
- 4:02Speaker 1: is only ninety miles from Florida, so they've given them
- 4:06Speaker 1: three hundred kamikaze drones. They're heavily armed. They can pack
- 4:10Speaker 1: up to one hundred and ten pounds of explosives each
- 4:15Speaker 1: and again they got a range of fifteen hundred miles,
- 4:19Speaker 1: three hundred of them. Now, we have great defense against drones.
- 4:22Speaker 1: We have all sorts of defenses that can spot a
- 4:25Speaker 1: drone and take it out. The only problem is, and
- 4:29Speaker 1: this happened with Israel a couple of times. You know,
- 4:32Speaker 1: you send ten drones, we can take them out and
- 4:34Speaker 1: knock them down. If you send like two hundred at
- 4:36Speaker 1: a time, and it happened in Israel a couple times,
- 4:40Speaker 1: you don't get every one of them. Sometimes one or
- 4:43Speaker 1: two could get through. Now this is fifteen hundred miles.
- 4:46Speaker 1: Obviously Florida would be principal target. I know we got
- 4:51Speaker 1: a lot of listeners in Florida, but this is like
- 4:54Speaker 1: Cuban missile crisis all over again. So now there's a
- 4:58Speaker 1: kind of a race against the clock here. One, we'd
- 5:00Speaker 1: have to stop these drones if they're ever used. But
- 5:03Speaker 1: also we are in the process of liberating Cuba, of
- 5:09Speaker 1: freeing Cuba from the communist government there, all sorts of
- 5:12Speaker 1: steps have been in the works for the last couple
- 5:14Speaker 1: of years. If we can get this done very fast
- 5:18Speaker 1: and take over that government, we wouldn't take it over,
- 5:20Speaker 1: but allies of ours would take it over. You know,
- 5:24Speaker 1: the Cuban people, Cubans in Florida, they've already recruited to
- 5:27Speaker 1: go back there and run things. So that would be
- 5:31Speaker 1: important right now with this drone threat. So we'll keep
- 5:34Speaker 1: an eye on all of that for you. We are
- 5:36Speaker 1: striking Iran as we speak.
- 5:39Speaker 2: We're back.
- 5:41Speaker 1: President Trump called the last attacks, remember months ago, a
- 5:45Speaker 1: couple of months ago, the original a couple of weeks
- 5:47Speaker 1: of attacks. He called that a love tap. He's calling
- 5:51Speaker 1: this one a bitch slap. Now, bitch slap usually means
- 5:56Speaker 1: something very painful but brief, not too long, but very
- 6:00Speaker 1: seriously painful. So this is going to be a real
- 6:04Speaker 1: serious attack, way beyond what we did last time. They're
- 6:07Speaker 1: hitting about ninety five one hundred targets a day, and
- 6:11Speaker 1: serious military targets taking out all kinds of stuff. This
- 6:15Speaker 1: series of attacks is expected to go about seven weeks.
- 6:20Speaker 1: Seven weeks, these attacks should be pretty deadly to Iran.
- 6:25Speaker 1: It'd be interesting to see what's left after seven weeks.
- 6:27Speaker 1: Might not be much of anything. You know, they had
- 6:30Speaker 1: the funeral for the Ayatola Kimane. It's been a couple
- 6:33Speaker 1: months since he was killed. They waited that long, so
- 6:36Speaker 1: they thought it was safe. They did this so recently,
- 6:38Speaker 1: and at the funeral, we watch it from the sky
- 6:42Speaker 1: satellite photos. We're watching the funeral. Thousands and thousands showed
- 6:46Speaker 1: up for the funeral as they buried the Iatola Komane,
- 6:49Speaker 1: but they unfurled an enormous, enormous banner that called for
- 6:55Speaker 1: Trump's assassination. Apparently the crowd was calling for it. Kinds
- 7:00Speaker 1: of banners. I swear by the blood of the Supreme
- 7:03Speaker 1: Leader Trump, we will kill you. So this is a
- 7:07Speaker 1: part of all of this. You know. The guy was
- 7:09Speaker 1: sitting right over there a block away at Trump Tower,
- 7:12Speaker 1: having a great life. A great time. I don't know
- 7:15Speaker 1: why you want to go be president. I guess it's
- 7:18Speaker 1: a dream to be president. But in Iran, I got
- 7:23Speaker 1: a banner we swear by the Ayatola, we will kill you.
- 7:26Speaker 1: Who needs this? Who needs to go through this? He's
- 7:29Speaker 1: already had three assassination attempts on him. Who needs to
- 7:34Speaker 1: go through this? It's crazy, Mayor Mom, Donnie Well, everybody
- 7:40Speaker 1: is fuming and furious, especially the Italian community. He put
- 7:45Speaker 1: out this map. He thought this would be great to
- 7:47Speaker 1: put out an ethnic map of New York showing the
- 7:51Speaker 1: different ethnic neighborhoods. And they were mostly Middle Eastern ethnic neighborhoods.
- 7:59Speaker 1: They were mostly muz ethnic neighborhoods. He forgot to include
- 8:03Speaker 1: Little Italy, which is obviously the most famous ethnic neighborhood
- 8:08Speaker 1: in New York City. He also forgot the Irish neighborhoods.
- 8:13Speaker 1: In fact, they were like originally the big Irish neighborhoods,
- 8:16Speaker 1: one in the Bronx, a couple in Queens. He left
- 8:19Speaker 1: all of that out. It's absolutely I mean, it's insane.
- 8:23Speaker 1: It's too stupid a mistake for anybody to have actually made.
- 8:26Speaker 1: Nobody could make a mistake that stupid leaving out little Italy. Obviously,
- 8:31Speaker 1: if you're doing an ethnic map, that's the first thing
- 8:34Speaker 1: you'd put down. So it was obviously deliberate. Obviously they
- 8:37Speaker 1: were deliberately leaving out little Italy. It's absolutely crazy. He's
- 8:43Speaker 1: getting nothing but flack for it. You got to remember,
- 8:46Speaker 1: as we were saying yesterday, anti well socialism. Wherever it's
- 8:51Speaker 1: come in the world, whether it was the Nazi Socialism
- 8:54Speaker 1: National Socialist Party that was the Nazis, wherever the socialism comes,
- 9:00Speaker 1: it brings with it anti Semitism. All ten thousand times
- 9:04Speaker 1: socialism has showed up, anti Semitism comes with it. That's
- 9:08Speaker 1: how it starts. Now, eventually these type of socialists, it's
- 9:13Speaker 1: anti Semitism, and then when they get done with that,
- 9:16Speaker 1: it's anti Catholic, and then it's anti Christian. It happens
- 9:21Speaker 1: every time. Anti Semitism is just the first wave. It's
- 9:24Speaker 1: the first wave of this stuff. But it's gonna and
- 9:27Speaker 1: that's why you're gonna see this discrimination against Italians Irish,
- 9:32Speaker 1: it's anti Semitism, then it's anti Catholic, and then it's
- 9:35Speaker 1: anti Christian. That's the real objective of all of this. Now,
- 9:39Speaker 1: these democrats are going crazy, insane with the Platner, a
- 9:44Speaker 1: Nazi rapist, this is their candidate. And then in Minnesota
- 9:49Speaker 1: you got an illegal alien who raped a child miss
- 9:54Speaker 1: a criminal, illegal alien who raped a ten year old girl.
- 10:00Speaker 1: This is an illegal alien. He should be deported just
- 10:04Speaker 1: for that. But he also raped a ten year old girl.
- 10:07Speaker 1: Now ICE got him and was about to deport him.
- 10:11Speaker 1: He was charged locally in Minnesota. Now listen to this.
- 10:15Speaker 1: Governor Tim Waltz pardoned the guy. Governor Tim Waltz gave
- 10:22Speaker 1: the guy a pardon and granted him clemency, which legally
- 10:27Speaker 1: takes away the criminal status that was to stop him
- 10:31Speaker 1: from being removed by ICE. Can you believe this? This
- 10:36Speaker 1: is how insane they've gotten a child rapist they pardoned him.
- 10:40Speaker 1: I mean, he was guilty as hell, they pardoned him,
- 10:42Speaker 1: gave him clemency. Well, thank thank Marco Rubio. Marco Rubio.
- 10:48Speaker 1: Everybody was looking at this case and what the what
- 10:50Speaker 1: the FEDS could do about it. Marco Rubio has stepped
- 10:52Speaker 1: in as Secretary of State and on behalf of the
- 10:55Speaker 1: State Department has officially removed this guy's legal status. So
- 11:00Speaker 1: he has absolutely no legal status now in the United States.
- 11:05Speaker 1: That means Ice can remove him. That should happen pretty fast.
- 11:10Speaker 1: So great news, great move by Marco Rubio. I mean,
- 11:14Speaker 1: this is going to be a big issue in the midterms.
- 11:19Speaker 1: The issue is going to be communism, stopping communism and
- 11:23Speaker 1: stopping this crazy nonsense where you protect illegal aliens even
- 11:27Speaker 1: if they're raping children. It's going to be a hugeish member.
- 11:31Speaker 1: Affordability was the big issue. That's not a back burner now.
- 11:35Speaker 1: As we told you in Florida, Palm Beach International Airport
- 11:39Speaker 1: is now Donald Trump International Airport and President Trump speaking
- 11:45Speaker 1: about it, putting out truth socials and tweets and pronouncements,
- 11:49Speaker 1: saying it's a great day. It's a very big day.
- 11:53Speaker 1: It's spectacular. He's playing this up because he knows it
- 11:57Speaker 1: tortures half of Florida, the left wing half. All the
- 12:00Speaker 1: left wing cooks are fuming now. Because if you're down
- 12:04Speaker 1: there and you want to go somewhere, Palm Beach Airport
- 12:06Speaker 1: is the place you want to go. It's the nicest airport,
- 12:09Speaker 1: it's the easiest, it's small. It's not like the Miami Airport.
- 12:13Speaker 1: Pom Beach Airport is so easy to get in and
- 12:15Speaker 1: out of. That's the airport you want to go through.
- 12:19Speaker 1: And now many of these left wing cooks saying they
- 12:21Speaker 1: will never go into that airport. They'll drive an extra
- 12:24Speaker 1: hour or two to go to Miami Airport or Fort
- 12:27Speaker 1: Lauderdale Airport to the north of there. A couple of
- 12:30Speaker 1: people said they'll drive two hours to go to Orlando Airport.
- 12:33Speaker 1: They will not go through Donald J. Trump International Airport.
- 12:38Speaker 1: It's just the torture them. Now. The other thing is
- 12:40Speaker 1: to get there, you got to take Donald J. Trump Boulevard,
- 12:44Speaker 1: which has them fuming. But then when you get to
- 12:46Speaker 1: the airport, everywhere you look is a Donald J. Trump
- 12:49Speaker 1: sign every inch of the airport. It's killing these left
- 12:53Speaker 1: wing cooks. Trump loves it. Hey, it's not inappropriate. All
- 12:58Speaker 1: over the place, all over America, they are airport's named
- 13:02Speaker 1: for presidents, usually after they're gone. That's true. But if
- 13:06Speaker 1: the president was local, There's a George Bushy Airport in Houston.
- 13:10Speaker 1: There's an Abraham Lincoln Airport in Illinois. It's done all
- 13:14Speaker 1: the time for presidents. If you do a great shop,
- 13:18Speaker 1: we have a LaGuardia airport named for a great mayor.
- 13:21Speaker 1: It's done all the time. He's also got the boulevard
- 13:25Speaker 1: named after him. You know how many people in the
- 13:28Speaker 1: world have a boulevard a street named after them. It's very,
- 13:33Speaker 1: very unusual. Frank Sinatra in Palm Springs, you know what
- 13:37Speaker 1: his address was, Frank Sinatra Drive. Then he had named
- 13:41Speaker 1: the street after him, and that's where his house was. Frank.
- 13:43Speaker 1: If you live on the street that's named after that's
- 13:45Speaker 1: pretty impressive. It's a big thing now. John F. Kennedy
- 13:50Speaker 1: course no longer with us, but you've got a Kennedy airport,
- 13:53Speaker 1: you got a Kennedy Center, you got so much Kennedy stuff. Again,
- 13:58Speaker 1: it's done all the time, and it's great to drive
- 14:00Speaker 1: the left crazy. Hey, remind me to get to this.
- 14:03Speaker 1: You know, we've been talking about these e bikes and
- 14:06Speaker 1: all these bikes. They're the most reckless, crazy, dangerous things
- 14:10Speaker 1: all over in it. There's so busy torturing cars. They
- 14:12Speaker 1: don't realize all the pedestrian accidents and trouble comes from
- 14:16Speaker 1: the bikes, especially the e bikes, because they're so fast.
- 14:19Speaker 1: Give them, make them get licenses, make them give them
- 14:23Speaker 1: tickets all the time. Stop the recklessness. By the way,
- 14:27Speaker 1: you'd make a fortune if they all had to get licenses.
- 14:30Speaker 1: Then have to renew them every year. If they were
- 14:32Speaker 1: all paying tickets all the time, incredible source of revenue.
- 14:35Speaker 1: New York won't do it.
- 14:36Speaker 2: Well.
- 14:37Speaker 1: New Jersey has done it. It starts in I think
- 14:40Speaker 1: a week and a half being enforced in New Jersey. Now,
- 14:44Speaker 1: e bike, you got to get a license, you can
- 14:46Speaker 1: get tickets, you got to get permits. It's a great thing.
- 14:50Speaker 1: Watch what they do. It'll be a model for the
- 14:52Speaker 1: rest of the country. If New York had any sense,
- 14:56Speaker 1: they would do that and would bring in a ton
- 14:58Speaker 1: of revenue. You wouldn't need congestion and pricing, you wouldn't
- 15:00Speaker 1: need all that crap. But hey, we'll get back to it.
- 15:03Speaker 1: We'll take some calls next. Eight hundred three two one
- 15:07Speaker 1: zero seven ten is the number. Eight hundred three two
- 15:11Speaker 1: one zero seven ten set up pre said on the
- 15:14Speaker 1: iHeartRadio app to dou woor to hear Mark live. Set
- 15:18Speaker 1: another for Mark's podcast to hear him any time.
- 15:22Speaker 2: Now back to Mark Simon on woor.
- 15:27Speaker 1: Hey, let's take some calls. Eight hundred three two one
- 15:30Speaker 1: zero seven ten is the number. Let's go to Josh
- 15:32Speaker 1: in Palm Beach. Josh, how you.
- 15:34Speaker 3: Doing, Hey, Mark, how you doing?
- 15:37Speaker 4: I wanted to.
- 15:37Speaker 5: I question asked you.
- 15:38Speaker 3: I was a sense of SID.
- 15:40Speaker 6: This morning, and he had Michael Cohen on, and he
- 15:42Speaker 6: said that he patched things up with Donald Trump.
- 15:45Speaker 5: Is have you heard.
- 15:46Speaker 6: Anything about that?
- 15:47Speaker 1: Yes, that's true, they've patched things up. What are you
- 15:52Speaker 1: listening to the SID for? Why don't you listening to
- 15:53Speaker 1: the Curtis and Larry? Where do you go? He left?
- 15:59Speaker 1: I mean, I like SID, but it's supposed to listen
- 16:01Speaker 1: to Curtis and Leary. Yeah. Michael Cohen, or as he
- 16:03Speaker 1: would say, Michael Cohen, is so going to do a
- 16:07Speaker 1: radio now. He apparently said this this morning. Uh, he's
- 16:15Speaker 1: gonna be the next Rush Limbaugh. That's like me saying
- 16:21Speaker 1: I'm gonna be the next Aaron Judge. He's gonna be
- 16:23Speaker 1: the next Rush Loombo. Even though he talks like this,
- 16:26Speaker 1: he's gonna be the next Rush Loombo. Uh you know, well,
- 16:30Speaker 1: I think he's gonna be the next Andrew Cuomo, who
- 16:32Speaker 1: now holds the record for the worst radio show ever.
- 16:35Speaker 1: It only lasted about seven weeks. Uh, listen, he's not
- 16:39Speaker 1: a bad guy, Michael Cohen, And if the President wants
- 16:41Speaker 1: to forgive him, I guess we should too. But him
- 16:45Speaker 1: doing a radio show is like me opening a law firm.
- 16:47Speaker 1: It's not gonna work. Let's go to Rich and Myrtle Beach. Rich.
- 16:52Speaker 1: How you doing.
- 16:53Speaker 6: Hey, thanks, Mark, appreciate it. You know, besides the press
- 16:57Speaker 6: being the enemy of the state, our Senate has become
- 16:59Speaker 6: the animal into the state. John Soon has done absolutely nothing,
- 17:03Speaker 6: fifty bills of sitting in Congress that haven't been approved.
- 17:06Speaker 6: He's done no federal judge ships for Donald Trump. He's
- 17:09Speaker 6: fighting Trump all the way by doing one of these
- 17:12Speaker 6: silent quitting jobs. The guy has an absolute disgrace and
- 17:15Speaker 6: needs to be replaced.
- 17:16Speaker 1: Yeah, but the problem is you're right, You're right, But
- 17:19Speaker 1: they're right behind him. He got a million people just
- 17:21Speaker 1: as bad. It's they all stink, these Democrats, these Republicans.
- 17:24Speaker 1: Then Senate Congress you all in too.
- 17:26Speaker 6: Which are doing everything they can to screw the people.
- 17:29Speaker 6: Look at the gas prices and everything else going on here.
- 17:32Speaker 6: But John Thuon just another Mitch McConnell. Least, when Mitch
- 17:35Speaker 6: McConnell's wife became the Secretary of Transportation, McConnell was very good.
- 17:40Speaker 6: They got a lot of federal judges passed under Donald Trump.
- 17:43Speaker 6: John Soon has done zero judges.
- 17:45Speaker 1: No, he's horrible. We got it, we got it, we
- 17:48Speaker 1: got it, we got it. No, he's horrible. But the
- 17:50Speaker 1: problem is Democrats and Republicans in Congress, all they do
- 17:54Speaker 1: is try to do favors, collect donations, take care of.
- 17:58Speaker 6: TK talk talk talk talk.
- 18:00Speaker 1: Well, they got their own business. Like Schumer, he's just
- 18:02Speaker 1: donor service all day long. Nothing else that he's worried
- 18:06Speaker 1: about it. Now, they're all terrible Democrats. Are Republicans just
- 18:09Speaker 1: as bad in the Senate. Let's go to Robert in Westchester. Robert,
- 18:13Speaker 1: how you doing.
- 18:15Speaker 5: Good morning, Mark, and thank you for taking my call. Mark.
- 18:18Speaker 5: If the Republicans, the party itself, had any brains, they
- 18:21Speaker 5: would put on a constant loop nationwide when that poor
- 18:25Speaker 5: mother and father who lost their child, who was going
- 18:28Speaker 5: to Liola that congressional meeting and what that sylph of
- 18:32Speaker 5: a congresswoman said, it's terrible what happened, but that wood
- 18:36Speaker 5: should have never been applied. Furthermore, in Minnesota, they should
- 18:41Speaker 5: put what Tim Walst died on a constant loop.
- 18:44Speaker 1: Yeah, they do, well, they do, they do, they do.
- 18:46Speaker 1: That's how you heard about it, and that's why you
- 18:49Speaker 1: know about it. And they do they do all this stuff.
- 18:51Speaker 1: You got to remember, if you're watching Fox or Newsmax,
- 18:55Speaker 1: or you're watching Reading, you'll hear about this. But if
- 18:58Speaker 1: you're watching regular fake news, you're not going to ever
- 19:01Speaker 1: hear about it. Let's go to Jack in Putnam Valley. Jack,
- 19:04Speaker 1: how you doing?
- 19:06Speaker 5: Good morning? Good morning?
- 19:08Speaker 1: Y's Jack?
- 19:10Speaker 6: Hell?
- 19:10Speaker 5: Mark?
- 19:11Speaker 1: Yeah? Jack, Well, he tried, he tried, He made a
- 19:19Speaker 1: good effort, but somehow talking to the phone confused him
- 19:22Speaker 1: a little. Let's go to David and Queen's David, how
- 19:25Speaker 1: you doing.
- 19:27Speaker 3: Hey, Mark, Good morning, Mark. The Irish and Italians built
- 19:30Speaker 3: the city of New York. There was absolutely no question
- 19:32Speaker 3: about that. This guy from Uganda is only going to
- 19:36Speaker 3: destroy the city. I don't know any contributions that any
- 19:40Speaker 3: of those countries that he gained on his map.
- 19:45Speaker 1: Well, they brought socialism here, They brought a lot of
- 19:48Speaker 1: stuff here. Now, you're right, the Italian what would we do?
- 19:51Speaker 1: What would we eat if it weren't for the Italians?
- 19:54Speaker 1: And if it weren't for the Irish, how would we
- 19:56Speaker 1: have parades? We need them for that? I mean, it's.
- 20:00Speaker 3: Langelo, da Vinci, Marconi. The list goes on and on
- 20:03Speaker 3: and on. I don't know what Uganda has given up.
- 20:06Speaker 1: Thank you, Mark, well Edie. I mean that's about it.
- 20:08Speaker 1: Let's go to Vincent and Brooklyn. Vincent, how you.
- 20:11Speaker 4: Doing, Mark, you're correcting me up. Good morning, Matra Mayor
- 20:15Speaker 4: Bucker Bucky beaver face. Mandami not only did he live
- 20:20Speaker 4: out leave out the traditional Italian neighborhoods and the Irish
- 20:24Speaker 4: neighborhoods like a Boston post road for the road, he
- 20:28Speaker 4: also on purpose left out the original traditional Jewish neighborhoods
- 20:33Speaker 4: down De Lancey Street has the street and also this
- 20:38Speaker 4: little Pakistan that he talks about. Well, my car dealership
- 20:42Speaker 4: is not far from where this little Pakistan is. And
- 20:46Speaker 4: that used to be a Jewish neighbor that used to
- 20:48Speaker 4: be an Osgonizing Jewish neighbor. Now it's a dump you
- 20:52Speaker 4: go when I have to go pick up my coffe,
- 20:54Speaker 4: any work or anything like that. You think you're in
- 20:57Speaker 4: the Middle East. You see all these these women with
- 21:00Speaker 4: these black towels on that they must stink like goats.
- 21:04Speaker 4: That all these men are walking around with their uh
- 21:08Speaker 4: dyed Hannah head. They die airhead at Red Hannah Collor.
- 21:13Speaker 4: And this week down in a little Lialy, I heard
- 21:16Speaker 4: the president of the Italian American and Cultural Association, say
- 21:21Speaker 4: down a little literally this Sunday, there's going to be
- 21:24Speaker 4: a big protest against Mayor Bucky beaver Face. And as
- 21:29Speaker 4: the other caller said, what did these people contribute, aside
- 21:34Speaker 4: from falafel and shishka Bob to the making of the
- 21:37Speaker 4: United States?
- 21:39Speaker 1: I understand you saying, and I've never have you ever
- 21:41Speaker 1: heard anybody say, uh, let's go to little Pakistan to
- 21:44Speaker 1: eat tonight.
- 21:46Speaker 4: Hell, you go to Nicole, as you go to South you.
- 21:50Speaker 1: Go to Ye Patsy Nicole a million times said let's
- 21:54Speaker 1: go eat and little Lily. Nobody ever said let's go
- 21:57Speaker 1: to Little Odessa to That's another one of yes.
- 22:00Speaker 4: Neighborhoods. He's talking about a dump, Samy, what about the
- 22:03Speaker 4: Jewish neighborhood down at Brighton Beach where God mister Katsamatid's
- 22:09Speaker 4: is redeveloping the neighborhood there. There's a lot of places
- 22:13Speaker 4: that he purposely left out to shame those people, to
- 22:17Speaker 4: shame our community, because we are Europeans who came here
- 22:23Speaker 4: and who loved this country and integrated into this country.
- 22:27Speaker 1: All right, Vincent, we we.
- 22:29Speaker 4: Gotta go walking around with bed sheets on the man.
- 22:31Speaker 1: All right, so we got to go through the news.
- 22:33Speaker 1: But I know what you're saying, Thanks for thanks for calling.
- 22:36Speaker 1: When we come back. Roger Friedman, the great entertainment reporter.
- 22:39Speaker 1: Lots to talk to him about. Next on seven to ten, Worey,
- 22:44Speaker 1: you know what's why? He tells you why Mark Simone,
- 22:48Speaker 1: He's on sevent ten WI. Well, hey, we're looking for
- 22:56Speaker 1: Roger Friedman. The Taylor Swift wedding Madison Square Garden. You
- 23:01Speaker 1: remember kept hearing a million two million. All sorts of
- 23:06Speaker 1: people are now saying it was more like thirty million
- 23:09Speaker 1: the whole thing. Thirty million for the wedding. Yeah, apparently
- 23:16Speaker 1: even the flowers, the flowers and decor were five million,
- 23:22Speaker 1: you know, like real flowers, real trees, all this stuff.
- 23:25Speaker 1: So all of that was five million. Now, the average
- 23:29Speaker 1: wedding in America. How much you think the average wedding
- 23:32Speaker 1: costs in America? Now I'm not talking about New York
- 23:35Speaker 1: City and a ballroom. The average wedding costs in America
- 23:38Speaker 1: thirty four thousand, So this would have been about thirty million,
- 23:41Speaker 1: five million florals in decor. Catering was about two point
- 23:47Speaker 1: five million, eleven hundred guests. But they didn't just have
- 23:52Speaker 1: a caterer come in and just catered that. They wanted
- 23:55Speaker 1: all kinds of special things. There's a special mozzarella place.
- 23:58Speaker 1: They had to get it from there. There's they wanted
- 24:02Speaker 1: a certain pizza for the the cocktail party, and they
- 24:05Speaker 1: got that. So hey, oh we got Roger Freeman. We'll
- 24:08Speaker 1: get back to that. Roger Freeman, the great entertainment reporter.
- 24:12Speaker 1: Showbiz for one one dot com is his website. Check
- 24:16Speaker 1: it out every day Showbiz for one one dot com.
- 24:19Speaker 1: Roger Friedman, how you doing?
- 24:21Speaker 2: There are so many listeners that when I don't come
- 24:24Speaker 2: on on time, I start to get messages why aren't
- 24:27Speaker 2: you on?
- 24:27Speaker 6: No?
- 24:28Speaker 2: Why aren't you on? They can't find Roger Friedman.
- 24:32Speaker 1: You know why I am excited today the new Rolling
- 24:35Speaker 1: Stones album comes out. You know why it means so
- 24:37Speaker 1: much to me? Yeah, is because down the whole Q
- 24:40Speaker 1: and O four in honor of this, they got buffets
- 24:42Speaker 1: all over the place. There's so much food. Really, yes,
- 24:45Speaker 1: celebrating this. I should come right over. Yeah.
- 24:48Speaker 2: Well, I'll tell you what. It's a great album. It's
- 24:52Speaker 2: called Foreign Tongues, and the Stones marketing people have done
- 24:57Speaker 2: an amazing job. There's so many hit singles on it.
- 25:02Speaker 2: There's a song called Mister Charm that everyone's gonna go
- 25:05Speaker 2: crazy for. There's fourteen songs and they've never sounded better.
- 25:11Speaker 2: This is the craziest thing. You know. This is their
- 25:14Speaker 2: sixty second year in business and they've never sounded better.
- 25:18Speaker 2: They put on just Ronnie Wood and Mick Jagger put
- 25:22Speaker 2: on a little show the other night in London in
- 25:25Speaker 2: like a coffee cocktail thing where they played you Can't
- 25:29Speaker 2: Always Get what you Want and a couple of the
- 25:31Speaker 2: new songs and you know it just played them acoustically
- 25:34Speaker 2: and they sounded fresher than ever. So it's amazing, better
- 25:39Speaker 2: than ever. It's really crazy.
- 25:41Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 25:42Speaker 2: You know, some people are having trouble keeping their voices
- 25:45Speaker 2: or getting their voices back, and Mick Jaggers had no
- 25:49Speaker 2: problems whatsoever. He just keeps doing it and he's not
- 25:53Speaker 2: being augmented it anyway, because he was live the other
- 25:56Speaker 2: night in this little you know, coffee thing and cocktail
- 26:00Speaker 2: thing and he sounds great. So I don't know how
- 26:04Speaker 2: they're doing it. You know, this was a group known
- 26:07Speaker 2: for drugs and now they're known for vitamins. Wow, So
- 26:10Speaker 2: you know they know what they're doing.
- 26:12Speaker 1: Yeah, they always have these things, you know, how to
- 26:14Speaker 1: live longer, what you should eat, how you should can
- 26:16Speaker 1: maintain what health nutrition. These guys prove all of that wrong,
- 26:19Speaker 1: all of them.
- 26:21Speaker 2: Well. Keith certainly did have problems for a long time,
- 26:26Speaker 2: although now he's very clean and sort of you know,
- 26:29Speaker 2: he espouses you know, good living. He's in New York,
- 26:33Speaker 2: so he didn't go to the Linden thing. Nick was
- 26:36Speaker 2: never a big druggie and he's always been into exercise,
- 26:40Speaker 2: and look how lean and mean he is. But they're terrific,
- 26:45Speaker 2: and they're going to have the number one album by
- 26:48Speaker 2: the end of the day and everyone should get it.
- 26:52Speaker 2: I tell you, I love this song, mister charm. I
- 26:56Speaker 2: really think that's gonna be a big hit. And they've
- 26:58Speaker 2: got seven tracks this morning on the iTunes Top one hundred,
- 27:03Speaker 2: which is crazy. That's completely crazy.
- 27:06Speaker 1: Now, how do you compare it to the new Paul
- 27:08Speaker 1: McCartney album.
- 27:10Speaker 2: You know, they're both produced by this guy, Andrew Watt,
- 27:13Speaker 2: who also works with Lady Gaga and is a very
- 27:15Speaker 2: talented producer, and he knows how to get the best
- 27:19Speaker 2: out of all these people. The Paul McCartney album is
- 27:22Speaker 2: also very very good Dungeon Lane, Boys of Dungeon Lane.
- 27:26Speaker 2: I'm enjoying all the tracks on it. There's one called
- 27:29Speaker 2: loss to Horizon be a single, and you know, these
- 27:34Speaker 2: guys are really they're proving themselves this summer. Even Madonna
- 27:40Speaker 2: has a gigantic kid with her Confessions album. Carly Simon's
- 27:44Speaker 2: coming with a big her first album in eighteen years
- 27:47Speaker 2: in August. Yes No, and there's a song now on
- 27:51Speaker 2: that she's put out on YouTube called Howell that's maybe
- 27:55Speaker 2: one of the best songs she's ever written. So you see,
- 27:58Speaker 2: there's a renaissance here. These guys are all reclaiming their
- 28:01Speaker 2: legacies and it's fun to watch.
- 28:05Speaker 1: So why all of a sudden this year, Why all
- 28:08Speaker 1: of a sudden, now did they all come up?
- 28:09Speaker 2: I think all of a sudden they all looked around
- 28:12Speaker 2: and said, you know, these young people do not have
- 28:14Speaker 2: staying power, and we can do it. Also, the young
- 28:17Speaker 2: acts like Taylor Swift always cites Carly Simon as one
- 28:20Speaker 2: of her influences. The rock bands all you know, everybody
- 28:24Speaker 2: cites Paul McCartney and the Rolling Stones, And I think
- 28:27Speaker 2: that these groups know that they have a responsibility to show,
- 28:31Speaker 2: you know what it is that being talked about and
- 28:33Speaker 2: being heralded so much. We'll see more of it before
- 28:37Speaker 2: the end of the year. All right, it's nice. They're
- 28:39Speaker 2: real musicians and they're also playing real music. You know,
- 28:42Speaker 2: there's a lot of AI on the charts right now.
- 28:45Speaker 2: Spotify is trying to weed out the AI songs. That's
- 28:51Speaker 2: a big problem on streaming. There's a lot of fake stuff.
- 28:54Speaker 2: So the real thing I heard last night bon Jovi
- 28:58Speaker 2: played the Madison Square Garden and I was coming home
- 29:01Speaker 2: on the train and I heard these people all raving
- 29:04Speaker 2: about the show. And he's gotten his voice back. He's
- 29:07Speaker 2: better than ever. Paul McCartney was in the audience, So
- 29:12Speaker 2: even bon Jovi's having this big, you know, renaissance, so
- 29:17Speaker 2: you know, and I'm hoping that we'll see Steven Tyler
- 29:19Speaker 2: and Aerosmith at some point, but ok, oh no, I
- 29:24Speaker 2: love Steven Tyler. I'd love to hear them come back.
- 29:28Speaker 2: But it's great, you know, it's just great, and the
- 29:32Speaker 2: songs mean something to people. You know, Chicago Saturday in
- 29:38Speaker 2: the Park fourth, you know, it was the fourth of July.
- 29:41Speaker 2: This past fourth of July was the first and last
- 29:44Speaker 2: Saturday that July fourth has hit on in years and
- 29:47Speaker 2: it won't come back until twenty thirty seven. It sent
- 29:49Speaker 2: the song Saturday in the Park up to number one
- 29:52Speaker 2: on iTunes for the day, which was really funny. I'm
- 29:55Speaker 2: sure the group got a good laugh out of that. Yeah,
- 29:58Speaker 2: so you know, things rocking. Everybody's good. I saw a
- 30:02Speaker 2: great Broadway show last night which was Smiga.
- 30:07Speaker 1: Doing Oh well, everybody's raving about that doing everyone's raving.
- 30:11Speaker 2: I finally, you know, I sort of passed it up
- 30:14Speaker 2: when it was first opening because I thought, oh, it's
- 30:16Speaker 2: like that TV show they had.
- 30:17Speaker 1: Wait a minute, there was an opening you didn't go to.
- 30:19Speaker 1: I don't believe I didn't go to it.
- 30:21Speaker 2: I think I went to some movie thing and I said,
- 30:24Speaker 2: I was swiggering, I'll catch up with it. Of course,
- 30:26Speaker 2: I won the Tony Award, and I finally saw it
- 30:30Speaker 2: last night, and I got to tell you, it's completely
- 30:33Speaker 2: sold out. It's absolutely hilarious.
- 30:36Speaker 3: Uh.
- 30:36Speaker 2: It's a send up of all the Rogers and Hammerstein
- 30:39Speaker 2: and all the classic musicals you know from the forties
- 30:41Speaker 2: and fifties. But it's very clever. And the audience, I
- 30:45Speaker 2: gotta say, the audience, you know some I don't often
- 30:48Speaker 2: sit in an audience with completely where I don't know anybody.
- 30:51Speaker 2: I have to say, this was a cross section of America.
- 30:55Speaker 2: It was every size, shape, color, gender, everything, and they
- 31:00Speaker 2: loved it. They were they were The applause was thunderous.
- 31:05Speaker 2: And this is on a Thursday night with regular people.
- 31:07Speaker 2: So it shows you the show's a hit.
- 31:10Speaker 1: Yeah. No, but for you, you always go to the
- 31:12Speaker 1: opening where the whole audience is your fellow jaded media elitist.
- 31:15Speaker 1: This was an actual, real people.
- 31:19Speaker 2: Or investors who put money into the show. So of
- 31:21Speaker 2: course they're clapping very loudly. But last night it was
- 31:24Speaker 2: just like I'm telling you. I was waiting within. I
- 31:27Speaker 2: was waiting for a friend with one of the ushers
- 31:30Speaker 2: in the lobby and we're seeing the people pour in
- 31:33Speaker 2: from the outside line and I said, gee, this really is.
- 31:36Speaker 2: This is everyone that you can't beat it. It's so hysterical.
- 31:41Speaker 2: That's a great thing about Broadway. It's very egalitarian. It's
- 31:44Speaker 2: not it's it's not a stuffy place. It's you see
- 31:49Speaker 2: everything and everyone. People on walkers, wheelchairs, burneys. They're coming.
- 31:53Speaker 2: You know, they'll they'll come in any form. Well, it is.
- 31:56Speaker 1: Broadways kind of designed for tourists nowadays. I mean that's
- 31:59Speaker 1: would gets well.
- 32:00Speaker 2: No, I think there are a lot of There were
- 32:01Speaker 2: a lot of New Yorkers. I heard a lot of
- 32:02Speaker 2: New York accents on the line. So no, there were
- 32:05Speaker 2: a lot of New Yorkers waiting to get inside.
- 32:07Speaker 1: But they're from Long Island. That counts as tourists.
- 32:10Speaker 4: Now.
- 32:10Speaker 1: Those are the tourists from the.
- 32:11Speaker 2: Upper West Side. They're from the Upper West Side where
- 32:15Speaker 2: people shouldn't be from.
- 32:16Speaker 1: Those are the investors, you know, those investors that go yeahs,
- 32:23Speaker 1: those rich housewives that infest so we only get a
- 32:28Speaker 1: few seconds. Broadway overall is doing well, isn't it.
- 32:31Speaker 2: Yeah, it's doing pretty good.
- 32:33Speaker 1: You know.
- 32:33Speaker 2: There are a few shows closed, but they were they
- 32:36Speaker 2: were not shows that were meant to be. And there's
- 32:39Speaker 2: a lot of stuff that's booming and a lot of
- 32:41Speaker 2: stuff coming this fall that's going to be very hot.
- 32:44Speaker 2: So Broadway never dies. They always say Broadway's dying, it's over, yeah,
- 32:49Speaker 2: and always rallies when the new season starts.
- 32:53Speaker 1: That's good to hear. It's very important for New York. Well.
- 32:56Speaker 1: Roger Freeman, great stuff. Thanks for all the updates on
- 32:59Speaker 1: all the music. Get the Stones new album and get
- 33:01Speaker 1: mister charm listening to that first, and.
- 33:03Speaker 2: Get the Carly Simon song. It's called Howell. It's on YouTube.
- 33:06Speaker 2: You'll love it, all right, you'll absolutely love it.
