- 0:26Speaker 2: what's up? What's up? Family? Welcome back to another episode
- 0:31Speaker 2: of a His Hob radio podcast. I'm your brother, I'm
- 0:35Speaker 2: your boy, I'm your host, mister his Hop and right
- 0:39Speaker 2: here is where we walk through the Word of God together.
- 0:44Speaker 2: And right now we have been walking through the Book
- 0:47Speaker 2: of Romans chapter by chapter, verse by verse. Today we're
- 0:52Speaker 2: stepping into Roumans chapter fourteen. That is Romans Chapter fourteen,
- 1:00Speaker 2: a great chapter. This is all about unity, It's about conviction,
- 1:06Speaker 2: and it's about living unto the Lord, not to no
- 1:09Speaker 2: one else, but unto the Lord, not for the opinions
- 1:13Speaker 2: of others, not for the opinions of men. Not to
- 1:16Speaker 2: be a people pleaser. But I need y'all to stick
- 1:19Speaker 2: with me because this chapter is gonna be real. We're
- 1:22Speaker 2: gonna talk some real talk and real issues. We're gonna
- 1:26Speaker 2: deal with it. And this is a part of my
- 1:32Speaker 2: personal testimony. So I'm gonna get real, transparent, real raw,
- 1:38Speaker 2: and uncut on this episode because this probably impacted my
- 1:43Speaker 2: walk with God, this chapter here more than anything else
- 1:48Speaker 2: that I've been through as a Christian, and I wish
- 1:53Speaker 2: I would have read this chapter a lot earlier in
- 1:56Speaker 2: my walk with the Lord. But hey, hopefully I can
- 2:00Speaker 2: help some of y'all avoid any of the pitfalls that
- 2:06Speaker 2: I fell into. And also I want you to join
- 2:10Speaker 2: our live chat community. In order to do that, download
- 2:14Speaker 2: his hot radio app Hi Shop on all platforms. And
- 2:19Speaker 2: also you can stop buy our website his hot nation

- 2:42Speaker 2: part of the family, the community. We encourage each other,
- 2:46Speaker 2: you hold each other accountable. We strengthen each other. We

- 3:09Speaker 2: And also I have a great announcement that I would
- 3:16Speaker 2: like to make. Usually I'll try to wait until we
- 3:20Speaker 2: do the community shout out, but I'm too excited for
- 3:22Speaker 2: this one. We just registered and we're in the process
- 3:31Speaker 2: of becoming available in your car on the what is
- 3:38Speaker 2: it the Apple I Play and the Android Play in
- 3:42Speaker 2: your digital vehicles. I believe, hopefully I'm saying it right.
- 3:46Speaker 2: But his Hot Radio, the app itself will soon be
- 3:51Speaker 2: available in the digital cars on your dashboards. I mean,
- 3:58Speaker 2: I know myself. I use my tooth and that's how
- 4:01Speaker 2: I connect. But it's actually gonna be in your dashboard
- 4:06Speaker 2: coming soon. So praise God for that. Al alujah. We're
- 4:11Speaker 2: gonna be all over the place where people can hopefully
- 4:16Speaker 2: stumble onto the radio station. In our hopes is that
- 4:22Speaker 2: they'll get encouraged in the Lord and receive him as
- 4:26Speaker 2: their savior. Amen. So with that being said, grab your bibles,
- 4:31Speaker 2: your highlighters in your no pads, turn your Bibles to
- 4:36Speaker 2: Romans chapter fourteen. I'm coming at you from the New
- 4:39Speaker 2: King James. That's pretty much what I stick to. If
- 4:43Speaker 2: it's not the New King James, it'll be the old
- 4:45Speaker 2: King James. But I do like the King James. I
- 4:49Speaker 2: like that version. I like those manuscripts. Okay, let's go
- 4:57Speaker 2: ahead and pray. Heavenly Father, we come before you today,
- 5:00Speaker 2: Thank you for another broadcast podcast. Thank you God. We
- 5:04Speaker 2: ask Father God that someone will get touched and ministered
- 5:08Speaker 2: to by this chapter, help us to dig into your word,
- 5:12Speaker 2: Father God and find the treasure we ask for daily wisdom,
- 5:17Speaker 2: Father God, more than riches in gold. Well, God, we
- 5:21Speaker 2: know that your wisdom is more valuable. So we ask you,
- 5:25Speaker 2: Father God, to help us to guide us to take
- 5:28Speaker 2: over this podcast. And the mighty name of Jesus, God's
- 5:33Speaker 2: people said, Amen and amen. All right, all right, we'll
- 5:38Speaker 2: let's get into it. Romans chapter fourteen, and we're gonna
- 5:46Speaker 2: start with Verse one is already jam packed. In the
- 5:49Speaker 2: very first sentence, it says, receive one who is weaker
- 5:55Speaker 2: in the faith, but not to dispute over doubtful things,
- 6:03Speaker 2: all right, So Paul here is addressing how believers treat
- 6:06Speaker 2: one another when there are differences in conviction. You see,
- 6:12Speaker 2: we're to receive the weaker brother. Notice it says the
- 6:16Speaker 2: weaker in faith, right not argue with them over minor
- 6:22Speaker 2: issues that will not affect your walk with God, that
- 6:29Speaker 2: will not affect your salvation. Is not a heaven or
- 6:34Speaker 2: hell issues, not a heaven or hell matter. Right, we
- 6:38Speaker 2: can still unify as long as it doesn't damn my
- 6:42Speaker 2: soul right or hurt my faith. But if it's a
- 6:46Speaker 2: minor issue, why argue over it right now. The word
- 6:52Speaker 2: receive here is pro soul leo in the Greek, and
- 6:59Speaker 2: I'm anna spell it out p r os la mb a.
- 7:05Speaker 2: And however you pronounce that, I'll put that in a
- 7:09Speaker 2: live chat so you guys can practice that. It means
- 7:13Speaker 2: to take to oneself, to grant access to welcome. Paul
- 7:20Speaker 2: is saying, don't push away the one who may not
- 7:23Speaker 2: understand freedom in Christ yet. They may not understand it yet,
- 7:29Speaker 2: they may not have grown to that maturity level yet.
- 7:34Speaker 2: Don't invite them just to debate, but invite them in
- 7:40Speaker 2: order to love. Now, there's a whole can of worms up.
- 7:46Speaker 2: My bosill open up even with this verse verse. And
- 7:49Speaker 2: like I said in the intro, this probably affected my life,
- 7:54Speaker 2: impacting my life more than anything and my walk with God.
- 7:58Speaker 2: And actually it was impacted in a negative way. And
- 8:05Speaker 2: I'm gonna explain. I was involved in a church that
- 8:09Speaker 2: would teach a doctor and called the shepherding doctor. And
- 8:12Speaker 2: you don't really see it that much today as you
- 8:18Speaker 2: saw it years ago. But basically the pastor will say
- 8:25Speaker 2: that you know I am your shepherd, which is not
- 8:31Speaker 2: entirely true. Think about it. What is the truth in
- 8:40Speaker 2: that as we refer to the Word right now, the
- 8:46Speaker 2: Bible does call all They call us. The port of
- 8:51Speaker 2: God calls us man, let me give my mouth to work.
- 8:55Speaker 2: The Word of God calls us to be shepherds over
- 9:01Speaker 2: his sheep, those who are called to be pastors and leaders. Right.
- 9:05Speaker 2: He even told Peter to feed my lamb and to
- 9:09Speaker 2: feed my sheep. So there's an element of truth to that. Yes,
- 9:14Speaker 2: we are called to be shepherds, but we are not
- 9:20Speaker 2: the shepherd. We are under shepherds, We are under submission,
- 9:25Speaker 2: we are under authority just as well as the sheep are.
- 9:33Speaker 2: The true shepherd is Jesus Christ. He is the only
- 9:36Speaker 2: one who has absolute rule and absolute authority over our lives,
- 9:42Speaker 2: not our pastor. We don't say lord and pastor. No,
- 9:50Speaker 2: we say Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. And so the
- 9:54Speaker 2: reason why I really made that point is because the
- 9:57Speaker 2: shepherding doctrine says that I'm your shepherd. So if you
- 10:01Speaker 2: want to know the will of God, they don't point
- 10:04Speaker 2: you to God or teach you how to hear God's
- 10:06Speaker 2: voice and teach you how to pray. No, they tell
- 10:09Speaker 2: you come to me, and I will pray and go
- 10:13Speaker 2: to God. On your behalf and find out the will
- 10:16Speaker 2: of God, and then I will come and tell you
- 10:18Speaker 2: what you need to do. That is making yourself a
- 10:21Speaker 2: mediator between you and Jesus, which is nowhere in the Bible.
- 10:29Speaker 2: And yes, that was the ministry that I was involved in,
- 10:34Speaker 2: since light is supposed to expose darkness. Yes, the name
- 10:39Speaker 2: of the church is the Potter's House, and the pastor
- 10:44Speaker 2: at the time was Wayman Mitchell, and now he has
- 10:49Speaker 2: passed away. But there are the Dore Christian Fellowships that
- 10:53Speaker 2: are around. They go by different names, but they want
- 10:57Speaker 2: you to live under the pastor's conviction, which doesn't affect
- 11:02Speaker 2: your salvation. It's just if the pastor likes pepsi, then
- 11:06Speaker 2: the whole church has to like PEPSI. I know that's
- 11:10Speaker 2: kind of an extreme example, but it can get sticky,
- 11:17Speaker 2: it can get real ichy, and I just want to
- 11:19Speaker 2: warn especially new believers, you do not have to be
- 11:23Speaker 2: the clone of your pastor. You don't have to be controlled.
- 11:28Speaker 2: The Bible says that your leaders are not to rule
- 11:31Speaker 2: over you, right over the flock. So manipulation and control
- 11:38Speaker 2: is something that I'm really passionate against. I really disdain
- 11:43Speaker 2: that spirit and if you see, and if you notice,
- 11:48Speaker 2: even over the years, I've always taught liberty and freedom
- 11:51Speaker 2: in Christ because it's had me for like thirteen years.
- 11:55Speaker 2: I was bound to this spirit of control by my
- 12:01Speaker 2: pastor and leaders in my church. But thank God, hallelujah,
- 12:07Speaker 2: a word of God sets me free. That's why I
- 12:12Speaker 2: love Pastor Chuck Smith so much. That's why I love
- 12:15Speaker 2: going verse by verse through the Bible because that's how
- 12:19Speaker 2: I escaped a Christian occult. And I'm not exaggerating a
- 12:23Speaker 2: Christian occult. It's which control is witchcraft. Amen. So let's
- 12:31Speaker 2: get back into the Word, because yeah, I can talk
- 12:33Speaker 2: about this for hours. I need to write a book,
- 12:37Speaker 2: but you guys are gonna get a snippet of this
- 12:40Speaker 2: on this episode because this is where the Word of
- 12:42Speaker 2: God has us. And I'm faithful to go chapter by chapter,
- 12:47Speaker 2: verse by verse, and so the next verse we're gonna
- 12:50Speaker 2: go to chapter two and chapter three. For one believes
- 12:56Speaker 2: he may eat all things, but he who is we
- 13:00Speaker 2: eats only vegetables. Let not him who eats despise him
- 13:05Speaker 2: who does not eat, and let not him who does
- 13:09Speaker 2: not eat judge him who eats, for God has received him.
- 13:15Speaker 2: Ay Man God has received him. Some believers struggled with
- 13:25Speaker 2: eating meat sacrificed to idols. This is the background of
- 13:29Speaker 2: this verse, while others felt that they could eat it freely.
- 13:34Speaker 2: Now Paul is saying, don't despise, don't judge. God is
- 13:39Speaker 2: the one who receives us all. It's in God's place
- 13:44Speaker 2: to judge, not our place. Now this is big. Back
- 13:48Speaker 2: then it was food sacrifice to idols. But today it
- 13:52Speaker 2: might be music style, it could be a dress cold,
- 13:56Speaker 2: it could be weather you celebrate a certain holiday. Paul
- 14:01Speaker 2: is telling us unity is more important than uniformity. Let
- 14:06Speaker 2: me say that again, unity is way more important than uniformity.
- 14:14Speaker 2: If God received them, who are you to reject them?
- 14:19Speaker 2: If God has received them, who are you to reject them?
- 14:24Speaker 2: And we know that the church over the years has
- 14:28Speaker 2: rejected Christian hip hop, and a lot of them preach
- 14:32Speaker 2: against hip hop. But God is able to redeem anything.
- 14:35Speaker 2: If he can redeem us, he can redeem our music.
- 14:39Speaker 2: Hey man, If he can take us out of the flames,
- 14:42Speaker 2: then he can do that with every area of our lives.
- 14:48Speaker 2: But this is something that, like I said, I struggled
- 14:55Speaker 2: with because of my background. I was born in Las Vegas.
- 15:01Speaker 2: But at the age of two, my mom separated from
- 15:04Speaker 2: my pops and she took us back to Michigan. Porn
- 15:10Speaker 2: here in Michigan, and I was raised there until I
- 15:13Speaker 2: was twelve years old. Like I said, i'm sharing my testimony,
- 15:16Speaker 2: I'm sharing my story on this podcast. And at twelve,
- 15:21Speaker 2: my mom was abusive. Over the years, she had schizophrenia paranoia,
- 15:27Speaker 2: so she would abuse us verbally and physically. She was
- 15:31Speaker 2: very unstable. So the door is open for us to
- 15:35Speaker 2: leave that home, and I moved back to Vegas with
- 15:38Speaker 2: my pops at twelve years old. He accepted me in
- 15:43Speaker 2: He will always be my hero because he could have
- 15:46Speaker 2: said no. You know, I'm thankful that that door is open.
- 15:51Speaker 2: But what that developed in me was a fear of man.
- 15:54Speaker 2: Like I learned how to tipytoe around my mother so
- 15:59Speaker 2: I wouldn't set her off, walked on eggshells, and so
- 16:05Speaker 2: it developed like a people pleasing type of spirit within
- 16:10Speaker 2: me because I didn't want to get people upset. I
- 16:13Speaker 2: didn't want to get people angry, you know, I didn't
- 16:16Speaker 2: want the fallout from that. I know how ugly and
- 16:19Speaker 2: how bad it can be from my upbringing, right, And
- 16:25Speaker 2: so that followed me in my experience with church and
- 16:31Speaker 2: things like that, so I would listen, you know, if
- 16:35Speaker 2: a pastor would judge us. Basically, this is how it went.
- 16:40Speaker 2: At the age of fifteen, I got saved, but I
- 16:43Speaker 2: was at a woman's Bible study, not a Bible study
- 16:46Speaker 2: for women, but a woman was teaching it in her home.
- 16:50Speaker 4: You know.
- 16:51Speaker 2: She would teach a lot of the youth. And you know,
- 16:55Speaker 2: I was like fifteen and a half and I appreciate
- 16:58Speaker 2: that I received the Gospel from her, but she would
- 17:01Speaker 2: teach against church. She had that situation in church, and
- 17:07Speaker 2: so she was not fond of going to church. So
- 17:13Speaker 2: you know, so I just thought I was cool with
- 17:14Speaker 2: just going to Bible studies. So for a couple of years,
- 17:18Speaker 2: you know, we just went to Bible study. But you know,
- 17:20Speaker 2: there's power, like we got to go by God's pattern.
- 17:23Speaker 2: And I do want to say this that you can't
- 17:25Speaker 2: throw the baby out with the bath water. Even though
- 17:28Speaker 2: I had a horrible experience with church and with pastors,
- 17:34Speaker 2: I would never turn away from it because God himself
- 17:41Speaker 2: started this. This is God's idea, this is his institution.
- 17:45Speaker 2: Jesus is the head of the church. So who am
- 17:48Speaker 2: I to throw away the church. When Jesus is the
- 17:51Speaker 2: head of the church, it's like throwing him away. And
- 17:56Speaker 2: so thank God, I've always had the heart and to
- 17:59Speaker 2: understand and like, yeah, the pastor might say something, but
- 18:02Speaker 2: one day I gotta face God for myself. I got
- 18:05Speaker 2: to be judged from my own life, and so I
- 18:07Speaker 2: would take it like by a grain of salt. And
- 18:12Speaker 2: what I mean by that is the control they had
- 18:15Speaker 2: over their members. Remember I said the shepherding doctrine, you
- 18:19Speaker 2: had to go to them to find the will of God. Well,
- 18:21Speaker 2: they would control almost every aspect of the families and
- 18:25Speaker 2: the church in lives. They would tell you who to marry,
- 18:29Speaker 2: what to buy, where to work. You had to come
- 18:33Speaker 2: to church with a tie on. If you don't have
- 18:36Speaker 2: a tie, basically you're going to hell. If you don't tithe,
- 18:39Speaker 2: you're going to hell. You got to come to every
- 18:41Speaker 2: church service and every outreach. They don't care if it
- 18:44Speaker 2: was your honeymoon. I remember and one of the pastors
- 18:48Speaker 2: testifying that on this honeymoon he did an outreach. My
- 18:54Speaker 2: wife would chot my head off if I try to
- 18:57Speaker 2: do something like that, you know what I mean. But
- 19:00Speaker 2: that's how extreme the church was. And so going to
- 19:03Speaker 2: the church, you know, you were always criticized. You didn't
- 19:09Speaker 2: want to, like I say, if you disobeyed the pastor,
- 19:12Speaker 2: you're going to hell. If you leave the church, you're
- 19:14Speaker 2: going to hell. It's like they dingled you over hell
- 19:18Speaker 2: for just about everything. And so at one point I
- 19:22Speaker 2: was six months saved into the church, and my pastor
- 19:25Speaker 2: started to talk to me about marrying this particular female
- 19:30Speaker 2: that I never knew, don't know who she was, and
- 19:35Speaker 2: was not really my preference. Now, I don't want to
- 19:38Speaker 2: sound like a jerk or beat her up. She's a
- 19:41Speaker 2: beautiful woman, right, she just wasn't my preference. And she
- 19:47Speaker 2: was a great wife, she had great qualities as a wife.
- 19:50Speaker 2: But I just couldn't never really give her my heart.
- 19:53Speaker 2: And I'm talking about my first marriage. My pastor convinced
- 19:58Speaker 2: me to to dater in so many ways, and I
- 20:03Speaker 2: told him straight out the gate, like, no, I'm not interested.
- 20:06Speaker 2: You know, this is basically what I preferred as a wife,
- 20:10Speaker 2: this is what I was looking for. But he continued
- 20:16Speaker 2: to persist, and then other families in our church persisted,
- 20:20Speaker 2: and he wouldn't stop that, right, he allowed that I
- 20:23Speaker 2: then we actually I did a rap show at her church.
- 20:29Speaker 2: And what happened was that's where she saw me, and
- 20:34Speaker 2: she put the word out or whatever. So the people
- 20:36Speaker 2: in her church were contacting me about calling her and
- 20:40Speaker 2: this and that and the other. And I was like,
- 20:43Speaker 2: home to my guns. I'm like, no, you know, not interested,
- 20:45Speaker 2: like I said, six months saved, not really knowing the Bible.
- 20:49Speaker 2: Then finally our pastor did a sermon. He preached about
- 20:53Speaker 2: Rachel and Leah in the Old Testament. And if you
- 20:55Speaker 2: know that story, Rachel was the one Jacob was in
- 20:58Speaker 2: love with Leah not so much right, he was tricked
- 21:03Speaker 2: to marry Leah. Now, if a pastor brings that story
- 21:10Speaker 2: encouraging you to marry somebody, I would run with all
- 21:15Speaker 2: my might, you know what I mean, Because that didn't
- 21:19Speaker 2: so long story short. No, he didn't put a gun
- 21:22Speaker 2: to my head. But I was convinced that maybe this
- 21:25Speaker 2: is the will of God for me. Maybe I need
- 21:27Speaker 2: to forget about myself. Maybe I was being selfish about
- 21:31Speaker 2: my preference, like maybe I don't need to be attracted
- 21:34Speaker 2: to a wife. I just need a wife so I
- 21:35Speaker 2: can fulfill the will of God. Like you just don't
- 21:37Speaker 2: know how this really messed with my head right. So
- 21:43Speaker 2: in this marriage with the woman that I didn't know,
- 21:47Speaker 2: was not attracted to and desire to be with, and
- 21:50Speaker 2: I'm trying to be her husband, and I want to
- 21:53Speaker 2: cover her as well. You know, she was young and
- 21:56Speaker 2: she's going by, you know, what the church is telling her.
- 22:01Speaker 2: But when I was honest with her, I was honest
- 22:03Speaker 2: with her, like the day after, like the whole wedding happened,
- 22:06Speaker 2: like you know what. I feel like I was forced
- 22:08Speaker 2: into this. I really, I'm not into this. My only
- 22:12Speaker 2: complain is I wish she would have listened, you know,
- 22:15Speaker 2: and not tried to force the marriage. But hey, no slam.
- 22:20Speaker 2: You know, maybe that's my fault. Maybe I should have
- 22:22Speaker 2: been man enough to walk away even at that point
- 22:26Speaker 2: and not try to get her to be convinced. But
- 22:30Speaker 2: you know, I didn't want to hurt her, you know,
- 22:32Speaker 2: I wanted to let her down easy. But it was
- 22:34Speaker 2: not easy. So either way, we stayed married for years,
- 22:42Speaker 2: had children, but it was rough. And yes, because of
- 22:47Speaker 2: my preference was not in the home. When I did
- 22:50Speaker 2: see my preference outside the home, I fell to adultery.
- 22:55Speaker 2: I committed adultery. I wasn't mature enough, I wasn't streng
- 23:00Speaker 2: enough in the faith to be faithful to her even
- 23:02Speaker 2: though the circumstances where I wish I was, but I wasn't.
- 23:06Speaker 2: So I felt to temptation and not once, but multiple times,
- 23:12Speaker 2: and I really, you know, I really heard her. You
- 23:15Speaker 2: know I want to cover her in this story, but
- 23:18Speaker 2: I want to be transparent because this chapter really deals
- 23:22Speaker 2: with that. This could help somebody out there, hopefully that
- 23:27Speaker 2: may be in a situation. Maybe you have a pastor
- 23:29Speaker 2: that is pressuring you, especially if it's marriage, but anything,
- 23:33Speaker 2: if it's ministry, if it's this and any other, allowed
- 23:37Speaker 2: God to lead you. Now, I don't want to take
- 23:40Speaker 2: away from the role of the pastor. There is an
- 23:44Speaker 2: element of them encouraging and exhorting in this and any other.
- 23:48Speaker 2: But they're not to rule over us, right, They're not
- 23:51Speaker 2: to give us their convictions and their lives walk. So
- 23:55Speaker 2: this really jacked me up for years. You can imagine
- 23:59Speaker 2: most people rejoice when they get married. I was sorrowful,
- 24:05Speaker 2: like I was sorrowful, and so God allowed me. I
- 24:10Speaker 2: finally got the word in me and I got the
- 24:12Speaker 2: courage to finally leave that marriage. Because they preached that
- 24:16Speaker 2: if I would, if I would divorce or left my wife,
- 24:20Speaker 2: I would go to Hell. I'd be making my bed
- 24:23Speaker 2: in hell. Like like I say, they dangled you over
- 24:25Speaker 2: hell for everything. So I really thought I was stuck,
- 24:28Speaker 2: and I really thought God would be upset with me
- 24:31Speaker 2: if I stayed in that marriage. But it was now.
- 24:34Speaker 2: We had some good times. I'm not saying it was
- 24:36Speaker 2: all horrible, but I mean I felt like I was kidnapped,
- 24:40Speaker 2: like I was living somebody else's life because of the
- 24:45Speaker 2: control and the manipulation and all this and any other.
- 24:48Speaker 2: So finally, when I got a taste of freedom, I ran,
- 24:52Speaker 2: And like I said, I appreciate the Cave Chapel movement.
- 24:56Speaker 2: I got restored there playing in my feed in there,
- 25:00Speaker 2: and I learned the word verse by verse, chapter by chapter.
- 25:06Speaker 2: And that's what my heart is. Behind everything I do,
- 25:10Speaker 2: behind his hot nation is the Word of God. Concerts, events,
- 25:14Speaker 2: podcast whatever, it all leads back to God and his Word. Amen.
- 25:18Speaker 2: And this is a part of my testimony. That's why
- 25:22Speaker 2: I go so hard for the Word. And I know
- 25:25Speaker 2: that the ingrafted Word is able to save our souls,
- 25:28Speaker 2: not your pastor right, not your rules and regulations and legalism. No,
- 25:36Speaker 2: So I believe I went through that for a reason,
- 25:39Speaker 2: and I pray that none of it, you know, none
- 25:42Speaker 2: of I've said before that God will not waste our pain.
- 25:46Speaker 2: So maybe there's some type of ministry or something that
- 25:50Speaker 2: is there for people to realize the true grace, the freedom,
- 25:54Speaker 2: the liberty in Christ to where you don't need to
- 25:58Speaker 2: be controlled right by somebody's conviction. Amen, Now where was I? Oh?
- 26:08Speaker 2: Okay verse four? Like I said, this is gonna be deep,
- 26:11Speaker 2: this is gonna be I don't know if we're gonna
- 26:12Speaker 2: get through the whole chapter because I got so much
- 26:15Speaker 2: to say, and I thank God for this chapter. Amen.
- 26:20Speaker 2: So who are you to judge another's servant to his
- 26:27Speaker 2: own master he stands or falls, indeed, he will be
- 26:32Speaker 2: made to stand, for God is able to make him stand. Amen.
- 26:37Speaker 2: We don't belong to one another. We belong to Christ.
- 26:42Speaker 2: You are not my servant and I am not your servant.
- 26:47Speaker 2: I am not your master, and you are not my master.
- 26:50Speaker 2: We have one master, and that is Christ. So it's
- 26:55Speaker 2: not our job to judge because God is the one
- 27:00Speaker 2: who makes a stand. God is able to work through
- 27:05Speaker 2: situation and circumstances. So even now, even with the pastor
- 27:10Speaker 2: that I'm under, if there are issues. I try to
- 27:14Speaker 2: guard my heart and not allow the past to come up.
- 27:17Speaker 2: I can't blame him for what the pastor's done in
- 27:21Speaker 2: the past as far as you know, basically convincing me
- 27:25Speaker 2: to marry when I wasn't ready. But you know, I
- 27:34Speaker 2: can honor them. But at the same time, I can
- 27:39Speaker 2: allow God to correct him if he goes of course
- 27:44Speaker 2: or anything like that. I rely on the grace and
- 27:47Speaker 2: mercies of God that this man will not step out
- 27:51Speaker 2: of bounds. And if so, you know, at this point,
- 27:56Speaker 2: I know the Word like I understand and I know word,
- 28:00Speaker 2: and I can recognize it in the power of the
- 28:03Speaker 2: Holy Spirit discernment. That's why I really try to teach
- 28:07Speaker 2: the Word, and I really try to find the balance,
- 28:10Speaker 2: not go to the extreme. I'm not preaching against pastors
- 28:13Speaker 2: or churches because it happened to me. I really support
- 28:20Speaker 2: pastors in churches because this is God's institution. But I'm
- 28:25Speaker 2: looking for the balance, the truth out of God's word.
- 28:29Speaker 2: Right now. We got to let that, We got to
- 28:35Speaker 2: allow that to sink in. Belove it. God is able
- 28:37Speaker 2: to make him stand, not him, not you, not the
- 28:43Speaker 2: crowd or social media, God, not me. Right, God is
- 28:51Speaker 2: able to make them stand. We need to stop trying
- 28:54Speaker 2: to play super spiritual referees. You know what I mean,
- 29:00Speaker 2: to stop being religious in this matter. Amen? All right?
- 29:20Speaker 2: All right, So let's go to verse five and six.
- 29:26Speaker 2: One person is steems one day above another, another seems
- 29:32Speaker 2: esteems every day alike. Let each be fully convinced in
- 29:37Speaker 2: his own mind. He who observes the day observes it
- 29:42Speaker 2: to the Lord. And he who does not observe the
- 29:46Speaker 2: day to the Lord, he does not observe it. He
- 29:50Speaker 2: who eats eats to the Lord, for he gives God thanks,
- 29:55Speaker 2: And he who does not eat, to the Lord, he
- 29:58Speaker 2: does not eat and give God thanks. Amen. Now, whether
- 30:05Speaker 2: in food or in holy days, the principle is the same. Right,
- 30:12Speaker 2: do it as unto the Lord. Now what matters is
- 30:16Speaker 2: not the act itself, but the heart and the intention
- 30:21Speaker 2: behind the actions. Now, y'all, look, Paul is saying, stop
- 30:27Speaker 2: tripping about calendars and dinner tables. You know what I'm saying.
- 30:32Speaker 2: If your motive is to glorify God, that is what counts.
- 30:38Speaker 2: Convictions are personal, but worship is universal. Right, That's where worship,
- 30:49Speaker 2: that's where university comes into play. As we worship the
- 30:56Speaker 2: same God the way that He prescribed us too. But
- 31:02Speaker 2: our convictions can be personal. Somebody could do something that
- 31:06Speaker 2: my faith won't allow me to do, because the Bible
- 31:11Speaker 2: says I'm weaker in the faith. Right, So let's keep
- 31:17Speaker 2: going as seven through eight. For none of us lives
- 31:23Speaker 2: to himself, and no one dies to himself. For if
- 31:27Speaker 2: we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die,
- 31:30Speaker 2: we die to the Lord. Therefore, whether we live or die,
- 31:35Speaker 2: we are the lords. Amen. Our lives are not our own.
- 31:40Speaker 2: We belong to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Everything
- 31:45Speaker 2: we do should reflect this reality. And I want to
- 31:50Speaker 2: shout out my brother's own three right now, shout out
- 31:55Speaker 2: my bro, thank you for being faithful to this podcast.
- 31:59Speaker 2: Thank you for showing up up now. I see the
- 32:01Speaker 2: growth in you, my brother. And right now, we have
- 32:04Speaker 2: a his Hot Nation challenge. Right Actually, we've had it
- 32:10Speaker 2: in the past, and you know, I just decided to
- 32:14Speaker 2: throw it back out there is he is a sixteen
- 32:16Speaker 2: bar challenge, and we have a beat, we have a hook,
- 32:22Speaker 2: and what we're asking people to do is just record
- 32:24Speaker 2: yourself wrapping your bars and you know, tag us and
- 32:28Speaker 2: social media TikTok and all that good stuff. And the
- 32:32Speaker 2: first thing my brother told me when I sent him
- 32:35Speaker 2: the beat was he has to pray about it first
- 32:39Speaker 2: and see what God has to say. Like, man, shout out, bro,
- 32:43Speaker 2: that is growth, that is encouraging and that's actually sharpening
- 32:48Speaker 2: mind sword. I'm like, man, how many things have I
- 32:52Speaker 2: done and I haven't asked the Lord about it? Let
- 32:53Speaker 2: me start asking the Lord about everything. You know what
- 32:57Speaker 2: I'm saying. So that's great, bro, And yeah, and so
- 33:02Speaker 2: that's your personal conviction. Lord might tell you not to
- 33:07Speaker 2: jump on the beat, right, but that doesn't mean if
- 33:09Speaker 2: somebody else jumps on the beat that they're being disobedient. Yeah,
- 33:13Speaker 2: you're going to go to hell because you jump on
- 33:15Speaker 2: that beat. You know what I'm saying. I mean, I
- 33:18Speaker 2: know that's extreme, but that's how ridiculous it can be
- 33:23Speaker 2: in a lot of these churches, and these churches exist today.
- 33:28Speaker 2: They put the pastor in the place of the lordship
- 33:32Speaker 2: when they should not be. Hey, man, now I want
- 33:45Speaker 2: to see where are none of these Our lives are
- 33:47Speaker 2: to ourselves. Okay, now, let me get my thoughts together here.
- 33:57Speaker 2: This is the Kingdom perspective. My life is not mine,
- 34:02Speaker 2: my beats, my grind, my platform, everything that I'm doing
- 34:07Speaker 2: is how nation is not mine. It all belongs to his.
- 34:10Speaker 2: That's why it's called his hop. Actually, the spirit behind
- 34:14Speaker 2: his hops were taking hip hop back and giving it
- 34:17Speaker 2: to God, giving it to whom it belongs to. Right,
- 34:22Speaker 2: that's freedom, not slavery. Right. We don't have to bear
- 34:27Speaker 2: the burdens of ownership because it belongs to our father. Amen.
- 34:38Speaker 2: Now verse nine four. To this end, Christ died and
- 34:43Speaker 2: rose and lived again that he might be lord of
- 34:47Speaker 2: both the dead and the living. Christ death and resurrection
- 34:52Speaker 2: secured his lordship overall. Let me say that again, The
- 34:57Speaker 2: death and resurrection secured he is forever lord. He has
- 35:04Speaker 2: lordship over everything. See, resurrection wasn't just a miracle, it
- 35:11Speaker 2: was a coordination. Jesus flexed his authority over life and death.
- 35:20Speaker 2: That's why he is lord. Amen, hallelujah. He has authority
- 35:28Speaker 2: over life and over death. I'm glad that I know
- 35:34Speaker 2: him and that he is my savior. Amen. All right?
- 35:39Speaker 2: Verse ten through twelve. But why do you judge your
- 35:43Speaker 2: brother or why do you show contempt for your brother?
- 35:47Speaker 2: For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.
- 35:54Speaker 2: Right now, this is a different judgment we talked. If
- 35:57Speaker 2: you went through the Book of Revelation with me. We've
- 36:00Speaker 2: talked about the Great White Throne judgment. We've talked about
- 36:03Speaker 2: the Sheep and the Goat judgment. We talked about different judgments.
- 36:08Speaker 2: Now this judgment is for believers alone. This is the
- 36:12Speaker 2: judgment seat of Christ. For it is written all as
- 36:18Speaker 2: I live, says the Lord. Every nie shall bow to me,
- 36:22Speaker 2: and every tongue shall confess to God. So then each
- 36:27Speaker 2: of us shall give account of himself to God. God
- 36:35Speaker 2: is good. We have to give an account already. We
- 36:38Speaker 2: don't need to be putting more trips on people, and
- 36:43Speaker 2: we already got an answer to God. Right, you don't
- 36:45Speaker 2: need to put your trip on somebody, and you see,
- 36:49Speaker 2: we will all give personal account before God. Judgment belongs
- 36:53Speaker 2: to Christ and not us. See, don't worry about somebody
- 36:57Speaker 2: else's tests one right when you still got to pass
- 37:03Speaker 2: your own test. And speaking of that man that made
- 37:07Speaker 2: me think of a who Our finals are coming up
- 37:11Speaker 2: this week, all right, rabbit trail. Anyway, guy's not asking
- 37:18Speaker 2: you about their work. He's gonna ask you about yours.
- 37:22Speaker 2: He's not gonna ask you about anybody else. He's gonna
- 37:25Speaker 2: ask you about you. Verse thirteen, Therefore, let us not
- 37:30Speaker 2: judge one another anymore, but rather resolve this not to
- 37:36Speaker 2: put a stumbling block or a kirk or a cause
- 37:41Speaker 2: to fall in your brother's way. Now, this is the
- 37:45Speaker 2: heart of the matter. Right, Love means laying down freedom
- 37:52Speaker 2: if they cause someone else to stumble. And this verse
- 37:58Speaker 2: should really be a part of anyone's marriage. You know
- 38:05Speaker 2: what I mean, because I know we could have really
- 38:08Speaker 2: used this if we apply this in our marriage, and
- 38:11Speaker 2: I'm talking about my second marriage. Right, sometimes you might
- 38:15Speaker 2: do something that will cause your spouse to stumble. Love
- 38:20Speaker 2: will say, you know what, I'm not gonna do that, right,
- 38:24Speaker 2: Freedom without love is just selfishness. Right, If my choice
- 38:31Speaker 2: is causing somebody else to trip, that's on me. God
- 38:37Speaker 2: is gonna hold me accountable. Keedom, Love says, I'll step
- 38:43Speaker 2: back so that they don't fall. You know what I
- 38:47Speaker 2: mean in this verse? You know, if eating meat cause
- 38:53Speaker 2: your brother to fall, then don't eat meat, or don't
- 38:55Speaker 2: eat it in front of him at least, right, God's
- 39:00Speaker 2: heart is the heart of love. Verse fourteen. I know
- 39:04Speaker 2: that I am convinced by the Lord Jesus that there
- 39:08Speaker 2: is nothing unclean of itself but to him who considers
- 39:15Speaker 2: anything to be unclean, to him, it is unclean. Now,
- 39:20Speaker 2: this is a powerful verse. Right here he says nothing
- 39:24Speaker 2: is unclean of itself, So that even includes hip hop. Right,
- 39:30Speaker 2: to all the churches and pastors that are preaching against it,
- 39:34Speaker 2: nothing is unclean. The Bible says, right here, nothing is
- 39:37Speaker 2: unclean to itself, but to him who considers anything to
- 39:41Speaker 2: be unclean, to him, it is unclean. So to you personally,
- 39:48Speaker 2: hip hop is unclean because you determined in your heart. Right,
- 39:57Speaker 2: the Bible says, it's a man thinking, so is he.
- 40:00Speaker 2: That's why it's so important what we believe. That's why
- 40:02Speaker 2: we got to get the truth and not lean to
- 40:05Speaker 2: our own understanding. See Paul acknowledges that there is liberty
- 40:13Speaker 2: also the sensitivity of conscience. Right, we have liberty to
- 40:19Speaker 2: do something, but if it's messing with your conscience, and
- 40:23Speaker 2: then for you, it's not good for you to do it.
- 40:26Speaker 2: It's unclean to you. Conviction, like I said before, is personal.
- 40:34Speaker 2: If your convention says it's wrong, then don't do it. Right,
- 40:39Speaker 2: the spirit leads, not the crowd. Allow the spirit lead you,
- 40:46Speaker 2: but not the crowd. Amen. And that's what God is
- 40:50Speaker 2: maturing and that's what I've learned from my experience and
- 40:54Speaker 2: the purpose of me sharing my testimony. And man, we
- 40:58Speaker 2: got to be led by the spirit. It's fifteen through sixteen. Yet,
- 41:06Speaker 2: if your brother is greed because of your food, you
- 41:09Speaker 2: are no longer walking in love. Do not destroy with
- 41:15Speaker 2: your food the one from whom Christ died. That's deep.
- 41:20Speaker 2: Jesus died for your brother. Therefore, do not let your
- 41:24Speaker 2: good be spoken as evil. Do not let your good
- 41:30Speaker 2: be spoken of as evil. Amen. Do not cause your
- 41:34Speaker 2: brother or sister to stumble because you feel you have
- 41:40Speaker 2: the freedom or liberty to do a certain thing. Love
- 41:45Speaker 2: should govern our liberties right because Jesus died for them.
- 41:52Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying. Don't let food or performance
- 41:55Speaker 2: or anything like that ruin the faith of your brother
- 41:58Speaker 2: or sister. Now think about this, a plative food versus
- 42:04Speaker 2: a soul. Christ died for you know what I'm saying,
- 42:08Speaker 2: Which one matters more? That should be the perspective. Love
- 42:18Speaker 2: conquers all Amen, All right? Seventeen and eighteen. For the
- 42:26Speaker 2: Kingdom of God is not eating or drinking, but righteousness
- 42:31Speaker 2: and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. For he
- 42:35Speaker 2: who serves Christ in these things is acceptable to God
- 42:40Speaker 2: and approved by men. Amen, Acceptable to God and approved
- 42:47Speaker 2: by men. See, once you become acceptable by God, God
- 42:51Speaker 2: will allow you to be approved by men. But a
- 42:55Speaker 2: lot of people get it backwards. They want men to
- 42:57Speaker 2: approve them, and then they begin to miss God and
- 43:02Speaker 2: God's calling in our lives. Amen. Now, the essence of
- 43:09Speaker 2: God's kingdom isn't external rules and regulation, but it's the
- 43:17Speaker 2: intentional realities. It's the righteous Peace, is righteousness, is peace,
- 43:23Speaker 2: is joy. Its internal. It's not external. What I'm trying
- 43:28Speaker 2: to say, it's internal. Stop making the kingdom about petty stuff. Right,
- 43:36Speaker 2: It's not about the menu, It's about the spirit. It's
- 43:41Speaker 2: about joy, peace, righteousness. That is kingdom culture, all right,
- 43:51Speaker 2: Verse nineteen. Therefore, let us pursue the things which make
- 43:56Speaker 2: for peace, and the things which one may edify another.
- 44:04Speaker 2: Our pursuit should be peace and edification. We should try
- 44:10Speaker 2: to edify or strengthen our brother We should be trying
- 44:13Speaker 2: to build each other up. Kingdom builders, not kingdom critics.
- 44:20Speaker 2: We don't need kingdom critics. We don't need people to
- 44:23Speaker 2: criticize everything. You see, real ones chase peace, not drama.
- 44:31Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying. Like we should always try
- 44:35Speaker 2: to build our brothers and sisters up. We should love them,
- 44:38Speaker 2: we should encourage them. And I mean that doesn't mean
- 44:44Speaker 2: we can't correct or point something out, but we need
- 44:48Speaker 2: to do it in love, not out of a hypocritical spirit.
- 44:52Speaker 2: All right, twenty through twenty one. Do not destroy the
- 44:56Speaker 2: work of God for the sake of food. All things
- 45:01Speaker 2: indeed are pure, But it is evil for the man
- 45:07Speaker 2: who eats with a fence, which is good. Neither to
- 45:12Speaker 2: eat meat, nor drink wine, nor do anything by which
- 45:16Speaker 2: your brother stumbles or is offended or is made weak.
- 45:25Speaker 2: And man, let's break this down right, and don't let
- 45:28Speaker 2: your liberty destroy God's work in someone's life. Now check this.
- 45:34Speaker 2: Freedom is not worth your brother's fall. It is not
- 45:38Speaker 2: worth it for your brother to fall just because you
- 45:40Speaker 2: feel freedom in liberty. Sometimes love means saying no, even
- 45:45Speaker 2: when you can say yes. Right. But like I say me,
- 45:51Speaker 2: the loophole is, don't do it around them. You know,
- 45:54Speaker 2: eat that juicy steak as soon as he leaves. You
- 45:57Speaker 2: know what I'm saying, Because you got the freedom to
- 45:59Speaker 2: do it, right. I don't know. Let me know in
- 46:03Speaker 2: the life chat is that wrong or right? I could
- 46:06Speaker 2: be wrong, but I'm not gonna just give up me
- 46:09Speaker 2: completely or maybe you know, I mean, I don't want
- 46:14Speaker 2: to add to the word of God or take it away.
- 46:17Speaker 2: If the Word of God says to completely get rid
- 46:20Speaker 2: of it, then we need to pray about that. Amen,
- 46:23Speaker 2: and help God, you know. But like say, that's a
- 46:25Speaker 2: personal conviction. Amen, I'm not on here on the podcast
- 46:29Speaker 2: saying doubts shall not eat a steak no more because
- 46:33Speaker 2: it's gonna make your brothers stumble. Now, that's that's where
- 46:36Speaker 2: we got to get guidance from the Holy Spirit. Twenty
- 46:42Speaker 2: two and twenty three. Do not have faith? Oh, do
- 46:47Speaker 2: you have faith? Have it to yourself before God. Happy
- 46:51Speaker 2: is he who does not condemn himself and what he approves. See,
- 46:58Speaker 2: that's the matter. Do not condemn yourself. But to who
- 47:02Speaker 2: doubts is condemned if he eats, because he does not
- 47:07Speaker 2: do it in faith. For whether it is not from faith.
- 47:11Speaker 2: For whatever is not from faith is sin. Now here's
- 47:15Speaker 2: the tricky part. Faith must guide our actions. If it's
- 47:20Speaker 2: not of faith, it becomes sin. Bottom line, If you
- 47:26Speaker 2: can't do it in faith, don't do it. Faith isn't
- 47:30Speaker 2: just for the church, it's for our choices. A man
- 47:36Speaker 2: are every day choices in life. That's pretty deep. And
- 47:43Speaker 2: like I said, you know, I was gonna go in.
- 47:46Speaker 2: I could have went in even further. Just imagine the
- 47:51Speaker 2: drama of having a pastor put a trip on you.
- 47:56Speaker 2: And I've met other people over the years that actually
- 48:00Speaker 2: went to the church and left, and they had similar experiences,
- 48:03Speaker 2: but mine was pretty extreme, you know what I mean.
- 48:06Speaker 2: I married my situation and had a life and I
- 48:13Speaker 2: lived it every day. So it was very painful and
- 48:18Speaker 2: it hindered my walk with God. I was a bitter person.
- 48:23Speaker 2: I was hurt. I thought God was mean and he
- 48:27Speaker 2: had forced He'll force people to do stuff they don't
- 48:30Speaker 2: want to do. I was upset with God. Yeah, I
- 48:34Speaker 2: was upset with God. I was upset with the pastors
- 48:36Speaker 2: or whatever. I was baxseling and hurt, and I was

- 51:45Speaker 3: Chats with March. You are listening to the light like
- 51:58Speaker 3: Las Vegas is the hiss hop radio show.
- 52:09Speaker 2: That was our brother Dayton with four March. Come on, soldiers,
- 52:13Speaker 2: it's time and it's time to rise up. It's time
- 52:18Speaker 2: to do this for the kingdom and man. Amen. That
- 52:21Speaker 2: was Romans Chapter fourteen. I prayed that you get something
- 52:26Speaker 2: out of it. I pray that you will understand the
- 52:28Speaker 2: difference between uniformity and conviction. I prayed that this will
- 52:35Speaker 2: help somebody's walk. Hopefully you can find a good, healthy,
- 52:40Speaker 2: balanced ministry that you can be a part of a
- 52:43Speaker 2: ministry where God Spirit is leading. Amen. And that's some
- 52:48Speaker 2: weird trip or weird doctrine or weird whatever. And so yes, yes,
- 52:54Speaker 2: I'm inspired to write a book and really going depths
- 52:57Speaker 2: on that. But that is a part of my testimony
- 53:01Speaker 2: I haven't really shared. I need to share it more often, right,
- 53:05Speaker 2: I really need to get it out because I know
- 53:08Speaker 2: it can help somebody inside or even outside the church.
- 53:12Speaker 2: All people outside the church. Don't think that I'm trying
- 53:16Speaker 2: to make the church sound bad or look bad. I'm
- 53:19Speaker 2: just trying to share my story and deal with issues
- 53:23Speaker 2: that may arise. Amen. But the church is awesome. Like
- 53:27Speaker 2: I said, Jesus is the head of the church. Amen,
- 53:31Speaker 2: we are the bride of Christ. All right. With that
- 53:36Speaker 2: being said, time for the accountability partner. Now, let me
- 53:41Speaker 2: keep it one hundred. Accountability is about love, not about control.
- 53:48Speaker 2: That's another thing to get Pastors would tell us is that,
- 53:51Speaker 2: oh we hold you accountable, but they use that to
- 53:55Speaker 2: hide the controlling element. Of it. Right, So this week,
- 53:59Speaker 2: check your heart. Are you judging someone in the faith
- 54:05Speaker 2: over something God has not already already accepted the men
- 54:10Speaker 2: that God gave them the freedom or liberty to do.
- 54:14Speaker 2: You know what I mean. We can't be the ones
- 54:16Speaker 2: out there judging and criticizing. When I speak, I want
- 54:20Speaker 2: to make sure I can bring it to scripture. Right.
- 54:22Speaker 2: If you shouldn't be commit adultery, I'm gonna show you
- 54:25Speaker 2: scripture or as I was, show not commit adultery. Right.
- 54:30Speaker 2: I'm not like if you like drinking PEPSI I'm not
- 54:32Speaker 2: gonna judge you for that. There ain't no scripture to
- 54:35Speaker 2: back that up, right, So call your accountability partner and talk.
- 54:42Speaker 2: Talk to them, pray together, encourage one another to focus
- 54:46Speaker 2: on Jesus and not on disputes in debates and things
- 54:52Speaker 2: about that about conviction a man? All right? All right?
