- 0:44Speaker 1: off twenty twenty five with a great, great discussion about
- 0:48Speaker 1: the world of Philly sports. We're gonna get into a
- 0:52Speaker 1: report card. Yes, we are going to grade what has
- 0:56Speaker 1: been happening with the four teams, the four major sports teams,
- 1:00Speaker 1: the Phillies, the Sixers, the Flyers, and of course the
- 1:02Speaker 1: Philadelphia Eagles. We got a great guest coming on to
- 1:06Speaker 1: help us out with this report card. Let's get to
- 1:08Speaker 1: it now. And joining us this week from the Tony
- 1:12Speaker 1: Kotillo Show over at Rise and React Media. You can
- 1:15Speaker 1: find him on the Twitter slash ct X excuse me
- 1:19Speaker 1: at Rise with Tony Rize. We've got the one and
- 1:23Speaker 1: only Tony Katillo.
- 1:23Speaker 2: Hey, no, buddy, I'm doing great man, What a better
- 1:27Speaker 2: way start off twenty twenty five.
- 1:29Speaker 1: Oh absolutely, pot man, yes, absolutely. Look I love having
- 1:33Speaker 1: you on every now and again, you know, two three
- 1:35Speaker 1: times a year to talk about the world of Philly
- 1:37Speaker 1: sports in general. Honestly, you're that guest that I bring
- 1:41Speaker 1: on the podcast here to get into all four. You
- 1:43Speaker 1: do such a great job with Tony Katillo Show. I
- 1:46Speaker 1: know you had Heat Ratio podcast before, but I gotta
- 1:49Speaker 1: tell you, folks, subscribe on YouTube to the Tony Catillo Show.
- 1:53Speaker 1: You're not going to be disappointed with Tony and the
- 1:56Speaker 1: content that he is putting out there. And I love
- 1:58Speaker 1: talking to you about you know, our four for four
- 2:00Speaker 1: teams out there. Buddy. It's it's a real interesting time
- 2:03Speaker 1: in the world of Philly sports.
- 2:05Speaker 2: It is, man. This is a great Timmy year too,
- 2:07Speaker 2: because you kind of have you know, even though baseball
- 2:10Speaker 2: is not going on, you still got the Winter Meetings,
- 2:11Speaker 2: you got all things, and like you just have everything
- 2:14Speaker 2: going on.
- 2:15Speaker 1: Man, it's absolutely absolutely all right. Well, look, before we
- 2:19Speaker 1: get into our Philly sports report card here, I wanted
- 2:22Speaker 1: to get into some some general Philly sports stories with you.
- 2:25Speaker 1: Like I said, I love talking world of Philly sports
- 2:27Speaker 1: with you. I wanted to dive into this Philadelphia Eagles
- 2:30Speaker 1: team since they're gonna be heading to the playoffs this
- 2:32Speaker 1: coming weekend to face Green Bay Packers Tony. It really
- 2:35Speaker 1: seems like Howie Roseman continues year after year to just
- 2:39Speaker 1: find formulas that work for this team and this organization,
- 2:43Speaker 1: talent that works with the coaching staff very well, and
- 2:46Speaker 1: coaches that bring out the best in their players. While
- 2:50Speaker 1: he hasn't been perfect in terms of the NFL draft
- 2:53Speaker 1: or perfect in free agency, darn good, the guy knows
- 2:58Speaker 1: how to build a football team that provides it's consistency
- 3:01Speaker 1: and relevancy year after year when it comes to the
- 3:03Speaker 1: Philadelphia Eagles franchise in general. So my question to you,
- 3:07Speaker 1: it's kind of a two part question here, how would
- 3:09Speaker 1: you describe Howie Roseman's tenure over the past few years
- 3:13Speaker 1: and has he kind of created a new standard for
- 3:16Speaker 1: gms in the National Football League here?
- 3:19Speaker 2: Wow, it's a that's a loaded question, right, it is.
- 3:22Speaker 2: It really is because Howie, you know, remember we always
- 3:26Speaker 2: go back to the Chip Kelly saga, right, put the
- 3:28Speaker 2: little put baby in a corner. Yeah, that's what he did, right.
- 3:31Speaker 2: But I have to say, though, Jeff, that this is
- 3:34Speaker 2: not just Howie, Like, yes, Howie is the guy, but
- 3:39Speaker 2: it's also mister Loriie. Yeah, Like that's what people don't understand.
- 3:43Speaker 2: Like Jeffrey is very involved. Like everybody talks about Jerry Jones,
- 3:47Speaker 2: but this is a collaborative decision between Howie Roseman and
- 3:52Speaker 2: Jeffrey Lewyd. Jeff knows everything that's going on. Absolutely, I'll
- 3:57Speaker 2: just say we'll let Howie handle that. Nope, he's in
- 4:00Speaker 2: just kind of like Middleton is with the Phillies.
- 4:03Speaker 1: Right.
- 4:03Speaker 2: So, but if you ask for a report card and
- 4:06Speaker 2: a great over the last couple of years, he's got
- 4:09Speaker 2: to be in the A A minus realm. He doesn't
- 4:11Speaker 2: miss all MutS man, yea. The thing is when he
- 4:14Speaker 2: does miss, he's able to recover that. Carson Wentz like
- 4:19Speaker 2: the trade, the cap dollars, everything he did.
- 4:22Speaker 1: It doesn't get enough attention, my friend, It does not
- 4:24Speaker 1: get enough attention for how he handled that situation.
- 4:28Speaker 2: It's crazy. Who else does that?
- 4:30Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 4:31Speaker 2: I mean you look around. Look at the Atlanta Falcons
- 4:33Speaker 2: right now with Kirk Cousins. They pay a guy guarantee,
- 4:37Speaker 2: three year deal, draft the rookie quarterback. Those dudes on
- 4:40Speaker 2: a bench, what are they gonna do with them. Yeah,
- 4:42Speaker 2: they don't know how to work this through. How he
- 4:44Speaker 2: is it. I mean, I hate to say, you man,
- 4:46Speaker 2: but he's borderline genius.
- 4:48Speaker 1: Man. He knows what he's doing.
- 4:49Speaker 2: I say, is be very careful because we're gonna find out,
- 4:54Speaker 2: you know, the allegiance he has to Jeffrey Lowie, because
- 4:59Speaker 2: I think there's gonna be some teams that are cam
- 5:01Speaker 2: proud of for him. We've watched coaches be traded before. Yeah, oh,
- 5:06Speaker 2: don't suckond guess that people at looking at Howie.
- 5:09Speaker 1: That is a very interesting notion, for sure, a very
- 5:12Speaker 1: interesting notion. I like how you give Howie Roseman himself
- 5:14Speaker 1: like like an a. We're gonna certainly get to the
- 5:17Speaker 1: Philadelphia Eagles towards the end of our discussion here, Tony,
- 5:20Speaker 1: but I also wanted to talk about another GM too
- 5:23Speaker 1: here before we get like like dive into the report
- 5:26Speaker 1: card with the four major Philly sports teams. And that
- 5:29Speaker 1: other GM is Daryl Moury for the Philadelphia seventy six ers.
- 5:32Speaker 1: I mean, he's been taking a lot of heat over
- 5:33Speaker 1: the past couple of years, and I want to get
- 5:35Speaker 1: your take on what kind of GM he has been
- 5:39Speaker 1: for this Sixers organization. Now, everything we know revolves around
- 5:43Speaker 1: Joel Embiid. We know that as fans it's no secret
- 5:47Speaker 1: at all, and it's up to Daryl Morey to kind
- 5:50Speaker 1: of fill in the pieces. There are only so many
- 5:52Speaker 1: free agents available. You know, what does he do with
- 5:54Speaker 1: draft picks? Well, we've seen what he's done with some
- 5:56Speaker 1: draft picks in the past. Do you think he's done
- 5:59Speaker 1: the best job that he can over the past few
- 6:02Speaker 1: seasons trying to get this team past the first and
- 6:06Speaker 1: second rounds of the postseason. How do you characterize Daryl
- 6:10Speaker 1: Mourray as a GM for the Sixers at this particular
- 6:13Speaker 1: point time as we're starting off twenty twenty five.
- 6:16Speaker 2: I mean, is he still the GM? Because I haven't
- 6:18Speaker 2: heard from him, hadn't seen him, haven't heard he hasn't
- 6:23Speaker 2: been out. I mean, can we just call Nick Nurse
- 6:25Speaker 2: the GM right now? Because I mean, he's a guy
- 6:28Speaker 2: taking on a heat for everything. I mean, I really
- 6:32Speaker 2: feel bad for him, to be honest with you. Listen,
- 6:35Speaker 2: the one thing I will say about Darryl Moury is
- 6:39Speaker 2: we can't say that he hasn't put one hundred percent
- 6:44Speaker 2: effort into making this a championship caliber team. He just
- 6:48Speaker 2: has Whether morves haven't worked, I don't know. But listen,
- 6:52Speaker 2: there was a Ben Simmons Soka too that he inherited it,
- 6:56Speaker 2: that he decided to say, you know what, screw it,
- 6:59Speaker 2: I'm done right. So I applaud him for that, but
- 7:04Speaker 2: you know, I don't like the way he's handled this
- 7:07Speaker 2: whole season so far when it started. Loved the off season.
- 7:12Speaker 2: I think he did everything he could. He did a
- 7:15Speaker 2: couple of magic hat right, I mean, really pulled a
- 7:18Speaker 2: couple of guys out of a hat there. But yep,
- 7:20Speaker 2: you know, with this whole thing going on, Jeff, he
- 7:23Speaker 2: should have been front and center. He should have been
- 7:26Speaker 2: talking about this joellabeat incident.
- 7:27Speaker 1: He should have been front and center back when they
- 7:29Speaker 1: were twelve, two and twelve.
- 7:32Speaker 2: What's that?
- 7:32Speaker 1: He should have been front and center when they were
- 7:34Speaker 1: two and twelve.
- 7:34Speaker 2: Yes, and that's it's almost Remember it reminded me of
- 7:39Speaker 2: Brett Brown, soaka, yeah, like Brett Brown was taking all
- 7:42Speaker 2: these bullets for everybody, and I felt bad for the god. Yep,
- 7:46Speaker 2: We're watching these news conferences with Nick Nurse and you
- 7:49Speaker 2: see them going like he has no idea. Yeah, you know,
- 7:53Speaker 2: like I felt bad and he's a good head coach.
- 7:56Speaker 1: He's a good head coach. Nick Nurse is a good
- 7:58Speaker 1: head coach in the NBA. Is being hung out to dry.
- 8:01Speaker 1: It's how it seems because, like you said, we haven't
- 8:04Speaker 1: heard from Darryl. We're not sure where he is, what's
- 8:06Speaker 1: going on behind the scenes. It's not a good look
- 8:10Speaker 1: at all. That great for Darryl Moury. Man, it's it's
- 8:13Speaker 1: it's dropping a bit here for me, definitely.
- 8:16Speaker 2: I mean, look a for effort, but I mean it's
- 8:19Speaker 2: all about execution. And he's getting paid a pretty good
- 8:23Speaker 2: chunk of change. Right. Never he was going to retire,
- 8:27Speaker 2: but you know they gave him all that morning. Listen,
- 8:31Speaker 2: he's done whatever he could. And you said it to
- 8:35Speaker 2: end this up, you talked about Joe ELMBI. This team
- 8:40Speaker 2: lives or dies? Which simple is that? And unfortunately, I'll
- 8:46Speaker 2: say this, I'll continue to say it. I think the
- 8:48Speaker 2: window has passed.
- 8:51Speaker 1: It makes me want to cry, voice cracking and crying.
- 8:56Speaker 2: I know it.
- 8:58Speaker 1: Yeah, it's air man.
- 9:00Speaker 2: Look at these teams, chef, look at look at the
- 9:03Speaker 2: Look at the Oklahoma Thunders, the Okay season, the world. Right,
- 9:07Speaker 2: you look at this and you say, these guys.
- 9:09Speaker 1: Are getting better, especially Cleveland. Man, Oh my god, I hate.
- 9:16Speaker 2: Like that's what I'm saying. Wait, everybody kept saying, oh,
- 9:19Speaker 2: we're kings of the Eat. Guess what that was two
- 9:22Speaker 2: years ago. I don't know if it's like that right now.
- 9:24Speaker 1: I'm not sure if it is either. All Right, Well, Tony,
- 9:28Speaker 1: let's get into some report card grades here for these
- 9:31Speaker 1: four Philly sports teams. Uh, let's start off with the
- 9:34Speaker 1: six Ers. We're just talking about this team here. What
- 9:37Speaker 1: grade would you give them at this point in the season,
- 9:40Speaker 1: given the health issues, given how they started the season
- 9:42Speaker 1: mentioned two and twelve right out of the gate, been
- 9:46Speaker 1: dealing with so many different issues this season again health,
- 9:50Speaker 1: just where these guys are from a mental standpoint, given
- 9:53Speaker 1: the start of the season, given what's happened with this team,
- 9:57Speaker 1: just a ton of issues they've been facing with with
- 9:59Speaker 1: regard to just adversity. What grade do you give the marriage? Yeah?
- 10:04Speaker 1: What's the grade that you would give the Sixers?
- 10:07Speaker 2: And why? You know this is a tough one because
- 10:11Speaker 2: I think it's kind of like a multifaceted question because
- 10:17Speaker 2: I give Nick Nurse an a plus because I don't
- 10:21Speaker 2: think he knew everything and I don't think he control
- 10:25Speaker 2: anything that was going on. So that being said from
- 10:30Speaker 2: a player standpoint, from the team, I give him a
- 10:33Speaker 2: C minus. Man, they came in, they weren't prepared. This
- 10:37Speaker 2: was a team that we told was veterans. We went
- 10:40Speaker 2: out of vecher leadership, Caleb Martin, Eric Gordon, Paul George,
- 10:45Speaker 2: Reggie Jackson, Andre Drummond, let's go, and they all came
- 10:49Speaker 2: out like they were never played before. Right, that turnovers,
- 10:54Speaker 2: bad shots out of sheep, no energy. And your best
- 10:57Speaker 2: player was Ricky Counsel who gets no o'clock, a lester down.
- 11:02Speaker 2: Jared McCain, who was a revelation. Yeah, and Ty Rees
- 11:07Speaker 2: who guess what his effort was there? But his game sucked? Yeah,
- 11:11Speaker 2: because tin too hard. Yes, So I say minus. I
- 11:16Speaker 2: like the C minus. I think it's a very fair grade.
- 11:18Speaker 1: Quite frankly, I could even go D plus to be
- 11:21Speaker 1: honest with you, because I mean, as as as bad
- 11:25Speaker 1: as Andre Drummond has been. When they first signed him,
- 11:28Speaker 1: I was like, Wow, fantastic signing. I think so many
- 11:31Speaker 1: of us were saying it was an under the radar
- 11:33Speaker 1: signing for this team. He is gonna be a great
- 11:36Speaker 1: backup to Joel and it has just flopped in so
- 11:41Speaker 1: many in so many ways, in so many ways. So
- 11:44Speaker 1: all right, well let's move on here. Let's get into
- 11:47Speaker 1: the Philadelphia Phillies. It's their off season. They've certainly made
- 11:51Speaker 1: some moves, notably from a pitching standpoint, his whose Lozardo
- 11:55Speaker 1: is in the starting rotation, Jordan Romano in the bullpen.
- 12:00Speaker 1: It's tough to give a grade at times, I know,
- 12:03Speaker 1: while the team is not actually playing. But like you
- 12:05Speaker 1: said with regard to the Phillies earlier, you know, it's
- 12:08Speaker 1: the hot stove season. You know, the off season is
- 12:11Speaker 1: really important. We're gonna be talking about spring training before
- 12:14Speaker 1: we know it. Here with this team, how are they
- 12:17Speaker 1: setting themselves up here for the twenty twenty five season.
- 12:20Speaker 1: What grade do you give the Philadelphia Phillies at this
- 12:24Speaker 1: point here in January?
- 12:25Speaker 2: And why, Tony, So you're basically talking what they've done
- 12:29Speaker 2: from off season standpoint the great Where.
- 12:32Speaker 1: We are now? Yeah? Yeah, where we are now? It's
- 12:36Speaker 1: a tough one, I think, to be honest, because I
- 12:38Speaker 1: wanted them to get pitching. I wanted them to get pitching.
- 12:41Speaker 1: They've done it. I don't necessarily know if the pitchers
- 12:44Speaker 1: that they've acquired are the ones that we all wanted
- 12:47Speaker 1: necessarily as fans. However, however, they are making some moves here,
- 12:54Speaker 1: so it's difficult for me personally. I would actually go
- 12:57Speaker 1: with a B minus to be honest, That's where I
- 13:00Speaker 1: with this team.
- 13:01Speaker 2: I don't know, what do you think that's funny? You
- 13:03Speaker 2: said that because I was gonna say the same thing
- 13:06Speaker 2: borderline C plus. Okay, only because I think if Lizardo
- 13:13Speaker 2: comes back and he's healthy, Lessie says he is, you essentially,
- 13:19Speaker 2: in my opinion, have the best rotation in baseball. Absolutely,
- 13:23Speaker 2: But there's always the butt, right. I have to look
- 13:27Speaker 2: at this and there's a lot of concerns to me.
- 13:29Speaker 2: And what's concerning is how many years do we hear
- 13:33Speaker 2: about stupid money? How many years do we have We're
- 13:35Speaker 2: just going to get who we want no matter what.
- 13:37Speaker 1: Not worry about it.
- 13:39Speaker 2: The problem I have is I feel as though last
- 13:42Speaker 2: year with the Trey Turner signing, was Middleton saying, I'm
- 13:47Speaker 2: gonna give you one more to Don Breowski. You go ahead,
- 13:50Speaker 2: three hundred million dollar guy. But if he doesn't work out,
- 13:53Speaker 2: it is what it is. And I think that's kind
- 13:54Speaker 2: of what happened, and he didn't work out. Yeah. And
- 13:58Speaker 2: the scary part is you got a catcher who I
- 14:01Speaker 2: love JT. Yes, I love them, but is he gonna
- 14:05Speaker 2: be able to play like yadi are Melina? Is he
- 14:08Speaker 2: gonna be able to I don't know. He's on the downslide,
- 14:11Speaker 2: he is, and Jeff, this team I feel has more
- 14:16Speaker 2: questions now than it did last year. And I'm concerned
- 14:21Speaker 2: that the window again for another Philly team is past.
- 14:24Speaker 1: All right. I mean, there's certainly a team we're gonna
- 14:28Speaker 1: be getting to it a little bit with the Philadelphia Eagles.
- 14:31Speaker 1: They're the main hope at this point for a potential championship.
- 14:35Speaker 1: But I want to move on to the Philadelphia Flyers
- 14:37Speaker 1: here because again still in that rebuild mode. But my goodness,
- 14:42Speaker 1: I never expected their goaltending to be as absolutely horrendous
- 14:46Speaker 1: at this point as it is. But amazingly enough, when
- 14:49Speaker 1: you look at advanced metrics, they're a top ten team
- 14:52Speaker 1: when it comes to playing five on five. It's amazing.
- 14:54Speaker 1: Mattve Mitchkoff has been really fun to watch this season
- 14:58Speaker 1: as of late, hasn't been doing two to two more much.
- 15:00Speaker 1: But this team just isn't executing well this season, not
- 15:05Speaker 1: like they did last season. Believe it or not. I mean,
- 15:08Speaker 1: that's something that's been consistently unfortunate this season. But given
- 15:13Speaker 1: the expectations, given the goalie situation, which is just oh
- 15:16Speaker 1: my gosh. I mean Ivan Fidotav had a decent game
- 15:20Speaker 1: against Las Vegas after coming back after a month. But
- 15:23Speaker 1: we're here at the beginning of January. What grade would
- 15:26Speaker 1: you give the Flyers? And why?
- 15:28Speaker 2: Oh man, you know that colon situation and nobody nobody
- 15:32Speaker 2: saw that common man like I isn't that the typical
- 15:36Speaker 2: cloud of Philadelphia, Like we finally get it and then
- 15:39Speaker 2: boom go on yep, right, I mean I don't want
- 15:42Speaker 2: to bring up the guy's name, but Pelly Lindbergh, Right,
- 15:45Speaker 2: we had one in unfortunate guy passed is in an accident. Yeah,
- 15:48Speaker 2: I mean this guy heart's not coming back. We all
- 15:52Speaker 2: know that. And I will say this, I'm gonna actually
- 15:55Speaker 2: give him a B plus. No kind of why is
- 16:00Speaker 2: We're weren't expected to win this year and even though
- 16:03Speaker 2: a goaltending has been horrific, they've faced a lot of
- 16:07Speaker 2: adversity and as much heat as towards gets, I'll tell you, man,
- 16:13Speaker 2: kill he won't be the guy to turn it around. However,
- 16:17Speaker 2: he will be the guy to toughen these guys up
- 16:20Speaker 2: and it teaches him how to be NTL players.
- 16:22Speaker 1: Yeah, I think you.
- 16:24Speaker 2: Got to take it on a chin a little bit
- 16:26Speaker 2: and say, Okay, as long as he's getting these guys
- 16:29Speaker 2: to that point, then the next guy that comes in,
- 16:32Speaker 2: hopefully they're mature enough. So I don't I don't think
- 16:34Speaker 2: it's from lack of effort. I think it's just them
- 16:37Speaker 2: growing pains. Man on a team has faced a lot
- 16:39Speaker 2: of adversity.
- 16:40Speaker 1: Absolutely, It's what happens in a rebuild, folks. Yeah, and
- 16:43Speaker 1: I think it's a fair grade too, Tony. I do.
- 16:45Speaker 1: And again, folks, we're talking to Tony Catillo from the
- 16:48Speaker 1: Tony Kotillo Show. Subscribe on YouTube whatever podcast platform you're
- 16:53Speaker 1: listening on to us on as well at Rise with
- 16:56Speaker 1: Tony on the Twitter slash x r I ZE. It's
- 17:00Speaker 1: a great great follow Rise and React Media. You can
- 17:03Speaker 1: give them a follow over there as well at Media
- 17:07Speaker 1: Rise r Ize. And before I let you go, Tony,
- 17:10Speaker 1: we got to talk about Philadelphia Eagles a little bit
- 17:13Speaker 1: more here. I know we talked about Howie Roseman at
- 17:15Speaker 1: the top, but this is a team. They are the
- 17:18Speaker 1: number two seed in the NFC heading into the playoffs.
- 17:22Speaker 1: I did not think this was going to be possible
- 17:25Speaker 1: at the beginning of the season, but many have said
- 17:28Speaker 1: they're the most complete team in the NFC, and so
- 17:31Speaker 1: many of us are actually thinking that, yes, this is
- 17:34Speaker 1: a super Bowl team. This could be another super Bowl year.
- 17:39Speaker 1: What grade would you give the Birds as they're heading
- 17:41Speaker 1: into the playoffs this season here?
- 17:43Speaker 2: I mean, what other great can't you give them except
- 17:46Speaker 2: an eight plus? I honestly, you know, absolutely two before
- 17:52Speaker 2: the bye, we were talking about getting rid of everybody.
- 17:56Speaker 2: We were talking about another lost year. You thought about
- 17:59Speaker 2: a quarterback who can't play, a coach who can't coach.
- 18:02Speaker 2: He's like, we had so many question marks, and I'm
- 18:07Speaker 2: gonna bring this back to the beginning. And I think,
- 18:11Speaker 2: you know, a lot of this has to do with
- 18:14Speaker 2: coaching and the guys that Howie Roseman came in. I
- 18:18Speaker 2: think the secret assassin I'm gonna call him because the
- 18:23Speaker 2: way he is really behind the scenes. I think Vic
- 18:27Speaker 2: Fangio is the reason why Nick Arianni grew up after
- 18:32Speaker 2: the bot yep. I think I think Vic played his
- 18:35Speaker 2: Jim Johnson role, took him in a room I was like, look, kid,
- 18:39Speaker 2: shut up. Is how we're gonna do it. Okay, Like,
- 18:43Speaker 2: you've got a great team here, You've got a great system,
- 18:46Speaker 2: use them and then all of a sudden it clicked.
- 18:49Speaker 2: And what we're seeing right now, I mean, this is
- 18:52Speaker 2: the best team I've seen the Eagles ever have in
- 18:54Speaker 2: my lifetime. Yeah, I'm being honest, I'm forty six years old.
- 18:59Speaker 2: Just the way the young guys are stepping up, the
- 19:03Speaker 2: veterans are coming in. And I will say this, how
- 19:06Speaker 2: about the fact that the Giants a week before dropped
- 19:11Speaker 2: forty five points. Yeah, we played all our offensive plaiers,
- 19:15Speaker 2: we played our second rate defense, and we still we
- 19:20Speaker 2: still made them look silly.
- 19:21Speaker 1: Yep.
- 19:22Speaker 2: Drew Locke had thirty yards packs and in the first
- 19:24Speaker 2: a half. Come on, man, like that's depth. That is
- 19:28Speaker 2: a major, major aid to Halie Roseman. And I'm really
- 19:32Speaker 2: excited about this team, really.
- 19:34Speaker 1: Quick, before I let you go, buddy, I have been
- 19:36Speaker 1: talking about it, and we have been talking about on
- 19:38Speaker 1: this podcast platform the growth of Nick Sirianni and whether
- 19:42Speaker 1: it was Vic Fangio or whether it was you know,
- 19:45Speaker 1: after you get experienced with any sort of job, anybody
- 19:49Speaker 1: grows if they're able to be self reflective. And I
- 19:53Speaker 1: think Nick Sirianni went through something, whether it was Vic,
- 19:56Speaker 1: whether it was just looking in the mirror and saying,
- 19:58Speaker 1: you know what, maybe I should be talking crap after games,
- 20:02Speaker 1: you know, with other fan bases, you know, and going
- 20:05Speaker 1: back and forth with them. Maybe I need to stop
- 20:07Speaker 1: with some of the one liners. Maybe I just need
- 20:10Speaker 1: to grow up a little bit as a head coach.
- 20:12Speaker 1: He certainly has, for sure. I mean we can we
- 20:16Speaker 1: can say that so many folks wanted him fired after
- 20:19Speaker 1: week three, even we were more so many folks wanted
- 20:22Speaker 1: him fired. We don't hear that anymore. Why the guy
- 20:25Speaker 1: was able to take a look in the mirror and
- 20:27Speaker 1: grow up a little bit. It's been great to see.
- 20:30Speaker 2: It really has. At last. I'll say about that. Remember
- 20:34Speaker 2: my favorite coach, which is Mike Tomlin. But if you
- 20:37Speaker 2: remember back in the day when Toma first started, he
- 20:41Speaker 2: kind of had that issue too. He did the penalty
- 20:44Speaker 2: for sticking his foot out. Yes, right, made it about him,
- 20:48Speaker 2: and then he grew up.
- 20:49Speaker 1: Yep.
- 20:50Speaker 2: I'm just saying, like, you're right, it happens, and hopefully
- 20:54Speaker 2: we never talk about this again. And we're holding a
- 20:57Speaker 2: Lombardi Trophy and we're looking at this going wow.
- 21:01Speaker 1: What a year from your lips to God's ears again, folks.
- 21:04Speaker 1: Tony Katillo from the Tony Katillo Show, Rise and React
- 21:09Speaker 1: media buddy, it was great talking to you. Thanks so
- 21:11Speaker 1: much for taking the time come back and jump on
- 21:13Speaker 1: the pod with me. I would love to talk to
- 21:15Speaker 1: you more. Man.
- 21:16Speaker 2: Sounds great, man. Thanks for having me as always been.
- 21:19Speaker 2: I appreciate it.
