- 0:00Speaker 1: Time out for back to the basics and healthcare with
- 0:02Speaker 1: Balance Life Chiropractic. We're here with doctor Harley. How you doing,
- 0:04Speaker 1: doctor Harley.
- 0:05Speaker 2: BurrH Yeah, get a little chilly out there.
- 0:08Speaker 1: Yeah, and this it's not supposed to be like the
- 0:12Speaker 1: other day we had a frost advisory.
- 0:14Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 0:15Speaker 1: So by the way, a reminder, if you haven't already
- 0:16Speaker 1: disconnected your hose, do that. That's a good idea. But
- 0:19Speaker 1: now let's talk about what matters the most. We're going
- 0:21Speaker 1: to talk here about Balance Life Chiropractic. The technique that
- 0:23Speaker 1: you do. There's a torque release technique, which the only
- 0:27Speaker 1: reason I know that is because you just told me that.
- 0:29Speaker 1: But let's talk about what that is. I have that
- 0:32Speaker 1: done to me each week, but I don't understand what
- 0:34Speaker 1: that is compared to other things.
- 0:36Speaker 3: Yeah, and a lot of people who go to the
- 0:37Speaker 3: chiropractor like whatever they use, as long as it works,
- 0:40Speaker 3: that's fine.
- 0:40Speaker 2: I'm like, that's okay.
- 0:43Speaker 1: Get up on a shelf and jump on me if
- 0:44Speaker 1: that's what you need to do.
- 0:45Speaker 3: This isn't wrestling, but we utilize a little bit different
- 0:50Speaker 3: of approach. We've talked about that how we might look
- 0:53Speaker 3: at things a little bit differently. We've talked about the
- 0:55Speaker 3: technology that we utilize in the office that it's really
- 0:57Speaker 3: about trying to get to the root cause of your
- 0:59Speaker 3: health problem. So we utilize a technique called torque release technique.
- 1:03Speaker 3: It's more of a nervous system based type of adjusting.
- 1:06Speaker 2: We don't do the.
- 1:07Speaker 3: Twist poll cracking, crunchy put you in a pretzel maneuver.
- 1:10Speaker 2: And I was like, oh, but that's the best part.
- 1:12Speaker 2: It feels so good.
- 1:14Speaker 3: It's not always the easiest on your body as the patient,
- 1:17Speaker 3: and it's very hard on the practitioner as well. You
- 1:19Speaker 3: hear a lot about chiropractors that blow their shoulders.
- 1:21Speaker 1: Out way less precise, right.
- 1:24Speaker 3: I look at this type of adjusting with TRT for short,
- 1:27Speaker 3: it's kind of like a sniper rifle approach versus a shotgun.
- 1:30Speaker 2: We're really being.
- 1:31Speaker 3: Really pinpoints precise, picking out where exactly your body needs
- 1:35Speaker 3: to be adjusted. Because what we're really trying to do
- 1:38Speaker 3: with adjusting the spine is really kind of helping your
- 1:41Speaker 3: brain communicate with your body faster, and that comes to
- 1:44Speaker 3: our nervous system. So our nervous system gets bogged down
- 1:47Speaker 3: from everyday life, all the stress and aches and pains
- 1:50Speaker 3: and slips and falls, all these things really kind of
- 1:52Speaker 3: start bogging it down. So by adjusting your body, we're
- 1:55Speaker 3: working to speed up that connection, get rid of that
- 1:58Speaker 3: speed bump for lack of a better term, in between
- 2:00Speaker 3: your brain and the body connection. And so by adjusting
- 2:03Speaker 3: it's going to help remove that. And with TRT we're
- 2:07Speaker 3: being very specific of where is that speed bump versus
- 2:10Speaker 3: sometimes with manual adjusting, we kind of adjust a lot
- 2:13Speaker 3: of things, or we can do too much and overload
- 2:16Speaker 3: your system, or you could feel really worse after your
- 2:18Speaker 3: adjustment because we're trying to do a lot really quickly.
- 2:21Speaker 1: And there's probably people who've experienced that. They've gone in
- 2:23Speaker 1: they're like, oh, I was sore here and now I'm
- 2:25Speaker 1: sore over here. Well, they adjusted this, but then they
- 2:27Speaker 1: kind of unadjusted that, so then they have to like
- 2:29Speaker 1: readjust right.
- 2:30Speaker 3: You know, you could have a you could potentially have
- 2:33Speaker 3: a bad adjustment or a bad reaction, And that's where
- 2:35Speaker 3: I find with like this type of adjusting, we remove
- 2:37Speaker 3: a lot of the human error out of things. You're
- 2:39Speaker 3: not having to be put in the right position, line
- 2:42Speaker 3: of drive twisted properly with the right amount of force.
- 2:47Speaker 3: It all comes out of this instrument that is always
- 2:49Speaker 3: firing at the same force. It's spring loaded, so it
- 2:53Speaker 3: always fires at the same tension versus you know, having
- 2:56Speaker 3: to push a little bit harder or less so we
- 2:58Speaker 3: can turn on the force if someone's like, oh, that's
- 3:00Speaker 3: a lot, we need to turn it down a little bit,
- 3:01Speaker 3: or like with kids, we turn it down right away.
- 3:04Speaker 3: So it's taking a lot of the you know, different
- 3:08Speaker 3: variables that could happen with an adjustment and making it
- 3:10Speaker 3: a lot just a lot more specific and precise to
- 3:13Speaker 3: you as the patient, so we don't have to adjust
- 3:15Speaker 3: as much.
- 3:16Speaker 2: It's kind of like less is more in this case.
- 3:17Speaker 1: In the situation, you know, think about this, this is
- 3:20Speaker 1: a precise tool. So like if I was going to
- 3:23Speaker 1: paint that wall, it might make sense to use a
- 3:25Speaker 1: roller in a big white brush, But if I want
- 3:26Speaker 1: to paint the mona Lisa, I want to use something
- 3:29Speaker 1: that's a lot more fine tip and be more precise. So,
- 3:32Speaker 1: you know, if you just need some general thing, then
- 3:34Speaker 1: it's probably not as important. But when you're talking about
- 3:36Speaker 1: this and this specific spot where there's this very specific
- 3:39Speaker 1: thing that needs to be done, it's good to have
- 3:40Speaker 1: a precise tool.
- 3:42Speaker 3: Right, and the bones along our spine are fairly small,
- 3:45Speaker 3: so it's we're able to know exactly where we're adjusting
- 3:47Speaker 3: by using an instrument versus our hands. See chiropractors are
- 3:51Speaker 3: well trying to know where we're adjusting. Sometimes with our
- 3:54Speaker 3: hands out, we might adjust more than one segment at
- 3:56Speaker 3: a time.
- 3:57Speaker 2: It's like, be more specific.
- 3:59Speaker 3: It's just able to help your body respond faster to
- 4:02Speaker 3: an adjustment.
- 4:03Speaker 2: I look a kind of like a giant supercomputer.
- 4:05Speaker 3: If you have too many windows open, too many tabs open,
- 4:08Speaker 3: it's going to be better in the long run for
- 4:09Speaker 3: your computer to work on closing those individually, versus trying
- 4:12Speaker 3: to just force shut down the whole thing.
- 4:14Speaker 1: That's like, you've looked at my computer lately.
- 4:17Speaker 2: Mine looks kind of the same too. I usually have
- 4:18Speaker 2: too many windows.
- 4:19Speaker 1: Up, but I got a bigger monitor, which means I
- 4:21Speaker 1: can have more stuff going on.
- 4:22Speaker 3: Everything has gone so slow, so it might be time
- 4:25Speaker 3: to start said putting up your computer close some of
- 4:26Speaker 3: those windows.
- 4:27Speaker 1: I made to do that. If somebody listening is saying, hey,
- 4:29Speaker 1: you know what, I could use some help, maybe they
- 4:31Speaker 1: don't have a chiropractor, or they maybe have done this
- 4:34Speaker 1: in the past. But they didn't have somebody that was
- 4:35Speaker 1: using precision tools and they didn't have a good experience,
- 4:38Speaker 1: or for whatever reason, they don't have somebody right now
- 4:40Speaker 1: and they're just thinking, Hey, this might be the time.
- 4:42Speaker 1: What is the best way for them to connect with
- 4:44Speaker 1: you at balance like chiropractic, I always.
- 4:46Speaker 3: Say, especially with chiropractic, and you know, just like a
- 4:48Speaker 3: lot of fields, sometimes much we try a few different
- 4:50Speaker 3: types and techniques out before you figure out what you
- 4:53Speaker 3: like best. So if you've been to a chiropractor and
- 4:56Speaker 3: you weren't in love with the experience, give us a shot.
- 4:59Speaker 3: You know, a lot of our pace love that we
