- 0:05Speaker 2: This is the Wider Panalty Show.
- 0:08Speaker 3: Good evening and welcome to the Rita Panety Show. Coming
- 0:11Speaker 3: up tonight, Anthony Alberizi under intense pressure to follow the
- 0:16Speaker 3: UK's lead and increase defense spending after being snubbed again by.
- 0:20Speaker 4: The US President.
- 0:21Speaker 3: The panel will be with me shortly to cover the.
- 0:23Speaker 4: Day's top headlines.
- 0:25Speaker 3: A gay Arab activist apologizes for a sex toy scandal
- 0:30Speaker 3: at Trinity Grammar. Education expert Colleen Harkin we'll be here
- 0:34Speaker 3: to discuss the lgbtqia activism we're seeing in Australian schools.
- 0:40Speaker 3: We'll have the latest from the US, including major food
- 0:43Speaker 3: manufacturers such as Hines getting on board the Make America
- 0:47Speaker 3: Healthy Again campaign and ditching artificial colorings. And later in
- 0:52Speaker 3: the hour, speak to a brave woman who was sold
- 0:56Speaker 3: into child marriage at just twelve years of age in
- 1:00Speaker 3: Africa or the Middle East, but in Washington State and
- 1:04Speaker 3: left is losing it as adults passing on their deranged
- 1:07Speaker 3: hatreds to their kids. But first, let's have a look
- 1:17Speaker 3: at the day's top headlines with Sky News contributor Pru
- 1:20Speaker 3: McSween and sky News Digital presenter Gabriella Power Ladies. Let's
- 1:25Speaker 3: start with the Prime Minister. He is under extreme pressure
- 1:29Speaker 3: to follow the UK's lead in upping defense spending. After
- 1:33Speaker 3: the British Prime Minister had a productive meeting with Donald Trump,
- 1:37Speaker 3: he secured tariff exemptions and UCAS assurances, while as we
- 1:43Speaker 3: well know, the US President snubbed our Prime minister. Pro
- 1:47Speaker 3: I'll start with you, what can Anthony Albanezi do to
- 1:51Speaker 3: repair the somewhat fractured relationship we have at the moment
- 1:55Speaker 3: with our biggest ally.
- 1:58Speaker 5: Well, you can't change history, can you, Rita when you
- 2:01Speaker 5: think about what he's said about Trump in the past,
- 2:05Speaker 5: and then the actions of not just Albanezi but the
- 2:08Speaker 5: Foreign Minister which is just so anti Israel and really
- 2:14Speaker 5: unsupportive of one of.
- 2:15Speaker 4: Our well, our greatest ally.
- 2:17Speaker 5: And I think this is part of Trump's deal play,
- 2:21Speaker 5: you know, put him on ice, make him second guess.
- 2:25Speaker 5: He's relegated to really a third tier ally now and
- 2:28Speaker 5: this is very sad for Australia, but he's a his
- 2:32Speaker 5: ant basically in trump'size, i'd say, and quite irrelevant. So
- 2:38Speaker 5: it'll be interesting to see what Anthony Albanezi can do
- 2:43Speaker 5: to redeem himself. He's called in the big guns Greg
- 2:46Speaker 5: Norman and Kevin Right. Well, that hasn't worked for him,
- 2:49Speaker 5: has it. So I don't know what cards he's got
- 2:51Speaker 5: left to play.
- 2:54Speaker 3: I don't know why gab who would be calling in
- 2:57Speaker 3: Kevin Rud. I mean, I think that's one of the
- 3:00Speaker 3: mistakes of this government to keep Kevin right in that position,
- 3:04Speaker 3: given his track record some of the absolutely insane commentary
- 3:08Speaker 3: he's had about the US President over the years. Greg
- 3:12Speaker 3: Norman is one thing. I think Trump likes him, but
- 3:15Speaker 3: I don't think he's going to be enough to change
- 3:18Speaker 3: his attitude to Anthony ALBERESI gap no.
- 3:22Speaker 6: And you just think about how embarrassing it is for
- 3:24Speaker 6: Australia that we've got Anthony Alberanzi and then Kevin Rudd
- 3:27Speaker 6: as our ambassador to the US when he's previously called
- 3:30Speaker 6: Donald Trump a village idiot. And you know, if you
- 3:33Speaker 6: look at Anthony Abernese's track record through you alluded to
- 3:36Speaker 6: it as well, but he's previously trash Trump saying, you know,
- 3:40Speaker 6: he scares.
- 3:41Speaker 4: The s out of me.
- 3:42Speaker 6: And even throughout the election campaign he was kind of
- 3:44Speaker 6: using Donald Trump and the MAGA movement to kind of
- 3:47Speaker 6: smean coalition and kind of falsely tying them together. I mean,
- 3:51Speaker 6: it really doesn't help Australia's case. And the fact that
- 3:56Speaker 6: Donald Trump canceled this meeting and didn't even tell our
- 3:59Speaker 6: Prime minister and Anthony ALBERIZI had to find out through
- 4:02Speaker 6: Trump's social media post. I mean, how telling is that
- 4:05Speaker 6: it is a clear message that we are not a priority.
- 4:09Speaker 6: And I absolutely do not blame Donald Trump for this
- 4:11Speaker 6: crew As you said, Anthony Albernezi, Australia has been so
- 4:14Speaker 6: anti Israel, he's been weak about defense and reluctant to
- 4:19Speaker 6: boost defense spending, and now he's going to have to
- 4:22Speaker 6: chase Donald Trump potentially to the NATO summit just to
- 4:26Speaker 6: try and get this face to face meeting with him,
- 4:28Speaker 6: try and repair relations. Not that he's tried very hard
- 4:31Speaker 6: to this point to talk about UCAS and to talk
- 4:34Speaker 6: about tariffs. But good luck to him. You know, Donald
- 4:37Speaker 6: Trump is the most powerful person in the world and
- 4:40Speaker 6: he has sent a clear message and it is so
- 4:42Speaker 6: embarrassing for Australia.
- 4:45Speaker 3: Now, Italian Prime Minister Georgia Maloney has been called giving
- 4:50Speaker 3: a massive eye roll during a conversation with French President
- 4:54Speaker 3: Emmanuel mccron.
- 4:56Speaker 4: Let's have a look.
- 4:57Speaker 7: They haven't turned on the microphone and sometimes you can
- 4:59Speaker 7: pick something up the side convercessions.
- 5:01Speaker 4: But I do love her. She has been a revelation.
- 5:07Speaker 3: But Georgia Maloney's disdain for Macron is nothing new. She's
- 5:12Speaker 3: given a number of speeches lambasting him. We don't know
- 5:17Speaker 3: exactly what prompted that particular eye roll, but she's not
- 5:21Speaker 3: a fan of the French president.
- 5:24Speaker 5: Well, the french Men normally whisper sweet Nothing's what he's
- 5:28Speaker 5: done is whisper nothing, probably in her ear of any
- 5:31Speaker 5: relevance to her. You know, the guy is really out
- 5:34Speaker 5: of step with so many in the world, in the
- 5:38Speaker 5: G seven and G twenty, and Trump clearly doesn't like him.
- 5:43Speaker 5: He's so woke, he's pistol whipped by his wife. Clearly
- 5:47Speaker 5: no respect for him whatsoever.
- 5:51Speaker 3: Now, Gab, I cannot believe some of the media coverage
- 5:55Speaker 3: on this particular eye roll. We have some in the
- 5:59Speaker 3: mediacluding here in Australia suggesting the eye roll was aimed
- 6:04Speaker 3: at Donald Trump, who Maloney is a stauge supporter of,
- 6:08Speaker 3: instead of Macron. I mean the teds in the Australian
- 6:12Speaker 3: media is out of control.
- 6:14Speaker 6: But Rita, are you really surprised? Of course they are
- 6:17Speaker 6: pretending she's eye rolling at Donald Trump. Any excuse to
- 6:21Speaker 6: blame Donald Trump and to put their teds just out there.
- 6:24Speaker 6: You see it everywhere constantly. But no, unfortunately, as you say,
- 6:29Speaker 6: George Maloney is a stage supporter of Donald Trump. And
- 6:31Speaker 6: you look at how she's running Italy. I mean earlier
- 6:34Speaker 6: this year she banned gender neutral symbols from bathrooms in
- 6:40Speaker 6: public school. So she's very much aligned and absolutely eye
- 6:44Speaker 6: rolling Macron. And you tell you what that vision is brilliant.
- 6:47Speaker 6: I love looking at some of the comments on social media.
- 6:50Speaker 6: Everyone is supporting her as she's eye rolling mcron. But
- 6:53Speaker 6: it wasn't a good day for Emmanuel mccron. He took
- 6:56Speaker 6: it upon himself to claim that Trump was leaving the
- 7:00Speaker 6: D seven to broke a cease fire deal between Israel
- 7:03Speaker 6: and Iran, and Trump quickly put him back in his place,
- 7:06Speaker 6: saying that Emmanuel Macron is wrong once again. He always
- 7:10Speaker 6: gets it wrong, whether he knows it or not.
- 7:11Speaker 4: In your so called him.
- 7:13Speaker 6: But publicity is seeking Emmanuel Macron, So wasn't a good
- 7:17Speaker 6: day for him?
- 7:20Speaker 8: No?
- 7:20Speaker 3: No, Well, let's talk about the Israel Iran conflict prisident.
- 7:23Speaker 3: Trump has issued a warning to Iran. Here, he wrote
- 7:28Speaker 3: on truth Social we know exactly whether so called Supreme
- 7:33Speaker 3: Leader is hiding. He is an easy target, but is
- 7:38Speaker 3: safe there. We are not going to take him out kill,
- 7:42Speaker 3: at least.
- 7:43Speaker 4: Not for now, prove.
- 7:46Speaker 3: Many of Trump's supporters, it's got to be said, want
- 7:51Speaker 3: the US to stay out of this conflict. But Donald
- 7:54Speaker 3: Trump has been consistent in wanting an end to Iran's
- 7:59Speaker 3: nuclear ambitions. This is not a new position that is taken.
- 8:03Speaker 4: No, it isn't.
- 8:04Speaker 5: Although a lot of the mega people don't want America
- 8:07Speaker 5: to have any more wars and believe that Trump has
- 8:10Speaker 5: sort of pledged that. But the point is they have
- 8:14Speaker 5: to finish the job. It's a threat not just to
- 8:17Speaker 5: Israel but the Western world if Iran has a nuclear bomb.
- 8:22Speaker 5: And I think that what's annoying to me a little
- 8:26Speaker 5: bit and confusing about Trump, with his stance with Putin
- 8:30Speaker 5: and now with this.
- 8:32Speaker 4: Gab that would be quite an escalation.
- 8:36Speaker 3: I think America is quite happy for Israel to be
- 8:40Speaker 3: leading this, and they've given Iran plenty of warnings that
- 8:45Speaker 3: if any American targets are heat or even targeted in
- 8:50Speaker 3: any way, then America is going to enter this battle
- 8:53Speaker 3: in a far more meaningful way.
- 8:55Speaker 6: Absolutely, and President Trump has been consistent and upfront about this.
- 9:00Speaker 6: And as a matter of fact, is Iran cannot have
- 9:03Speaker 6: nuclear weapons. There are reports coming out of the us
- 9:06Speaker 6: IS that the United States is considering joining Israel in
- 9:10Speaker 6: striking Iran's nuclear sites. And we know that Trump is
- 9:14Speaker 6: obviously issuing that warning to Iran, saying he knows exactly
- 9:19Speaker 6: where Iran Supreme leader is hiding, and he's warned residents
- 9:24Speaker 6: in Tehran to evacuate. So we're seeing those images of
- 9:26Speaker 6: just thousands of thousands of people evacuating Tehran now. And
- 9:30Speaker 6: it's also interesting Iran has banned government officials now from
- 9:34Speaker 6: using mobile phones out of concerns that that is how
- 9:38Speaker 6: Israelis have been able to track and target them, and
- 9:43Speaker 6: around officials have also told their citizens to remove WhatsApp
- 9:47Speaker 6: from their phones. As we know, Israel just has pretty
- 9:50Speaker 6: amazing intelligence, but it really appears to be escalating, and
- 9:54Speaker 6: it appears that it is really at this critical point.
- 9:57Speaker 6: We do know that Trump and Benjamin Etnya, who spoke
- 9:59Speaker 6: on the own yesterday, but we don't exactly know what's
- 10:02Speaker 6: come out of that call at this stage.
- 10:04Speaker 3: Yeah, and we'll have plenty more on that issue after
- 10:08Speaker 3: the break in our US segment. But to up some
- 10:11Speaker 3: local issues, a heated altercation at an upscale restaurant in
- 10:16Speaker 3: Melbourne has gone viral where the chef and owner of
- 10:19Speaker 3: Carlton's Caprika Pietro Barba Gello, he kind of lost it
- 10:25Speaker 3: here with a group of diners who were complaining about
- 10:28Speaker 3: their pasta being too spicy and filming some content.
- 10:33Speaker 4: Have a look what you're doing, you get.
- 10:46Speaker 9: Prue.
- 10:47Speaker 3: I don't know if he's a lefty, but he certainly
- 10:49Speaker 3: lost it there. I meaning, you can't be pulling the
- 10:53Speaker 3: table cloth and everything on top of it out just
- 10:56Speaker 3: because people are complaining about your spicy pasta.
- 11:00Speaker 5: Well, we know that a lot of chefs are temperamental,
- 11:02Speaker 5: but this is a step too far. Reminds me of
- 11:05Speaker 5: the Seinfeld.
- 11:07Speaker 4: I have a bit of an I don't know, Gab,
- 11:09Speaker 4: this is.
- 11:11Speaker 9: Well.
- 11:11Speaker 3: I think I think I'm going to be with you
- 11:13Speaker 3: on this one. Gap because it is his restaurant. Is
- 11:16Speaker 3: not only the head chef, he owns the restaurant, and Gab,
- 11:20Speaker 3: I reckon people are going to actually just flock to
- 11:23Speaker 3: this restaurant even more, seeing that dinner with a.
- 11:27Speaker 6: Show publicity is good publicity.
- 11:29Speaker 4: I think it's going viral.
- 11:30Speaker 6: Even the United States networks have picked this story up.
- 11:33Speaker 6: But I have a bit of sympathy for this restaurant owner.
- 11:36Speaker 6: He's in Melbourne, so he probably still has some trauma
- 11:39Speaker 6: from living under the Dracronian lockdown laws of course because
- 11:42Speaker 6: of for years. So it's really not his fault that
- 11:46Speaker 6: he has anger management issues. And who complains about pasta
- 11:49Speaker 6: being too spicy? Surely everyone loves spicy pasta, so you know,
- 11:53Speaker 6: he's made it a lovely meal, and you've got some brats,
- 11:56Speaker 6: whether they're teenagers or young adults, coming in trying to
- 11:59Speaker 6: get some viral intent for that tiktoks. You know, I
- 12:02Speaker 6: feel a little bit sorry of him. Maybe he took
- 12:04Speaker 6: it too far, but I think you're right, reader. I
- 12:07Speaker 6: think he's going to find that people will be flocking
- 12:10Speaker 6: to his restaurant.
- 12:11Speaker 5: What happened to the customers always right, that's clearly gone
- 12:15Speaker 5: by the way.
- 12:15Speaker 3: So well, yeah, I mean, papasta can be too spicy,
- 12:19Speaker 3: you can go crazy with the chili.
- 12:20Speaker 4: I'm not saying that particular dish was, but come on.
- 12:23Speaker 3: Now before you two go, I've got to get a
- 12:25Speaker 3: very quick take ten seconds each on Meghan Markle, who's
- 12:29Speaker 3: broken her silence on that infamous twerking video. We all
- 12:33Speaker 3: saw her heavily pregnant twerking.
- 12:36Speaker 4: She posted it on Instagram and.
- 12:38Speaker 3: Got us, I think, a backlash she wasn't expecting.
- 12:43Speaker 4: Here's what she has had to say about the video.
- 12:45Speaker 10: It's also a really great reminder that with all the
- 12:48Speaker 10: noise or whatever people do, they're still a whole leafe,
- 12:51Speaker 10: a real authentic fun leaf that's happening behind the scenes.
- 12:54Speaker 10: I'm just grateful that now being back on social as well,
- 12:56Speaker 10: I have a please break and share it on my
- 12:58Speaker 10: own terms.
- 12:59Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 13:00Speaker 3: I don't know about you, but that was anything but
- 13:02Speaker 3: authentic as far as I was concerned.
- 13:06Speaker 6: It's just so funny that she's so happy that she
- 13:08Speaker 6: can get back on Instagram and post videos like her
- 13:11Speaker 6: twerking while she's about to give birth, as opposed to
- 13:14Speaker 6: being a working role because now she has the freedom
- 13:16Speaker 6: to post as much on social media as she likes.
- 13:18Speaker 6: But Rita, she needs to stop saying that she's so authentic.
- 13:22Speaker 6: The more she says that, the less people believe.
- 13:23Speaker 3: It and pro I don't have long but I thought
- 13:29Speaker 3: they fled the UK to protect their privacy.
- 13:33Speaker 5: Well, you know, I mean, she hasn't gotten an authentic
- 13:36Speaker 5: like life, so I guess this is her one attempt
- 13:39Speaker 5: of trying to be authentic. But it's pretty pathetic when
- 13:42Speaker 5: you're sharing such an intimate moments that, well, then there's
- 13:45Speaker 5: something seriously wrong with you.
- 13:49Speaker 3: Gabriella Power, Pru mcsweet vegg, you so much. The Queer
- 13:53Speaker 3: Palestinian activist embroiled in an obscene video scandal at Trinity Grammar,
- 14:00Speaker 3: declined to answer questions when approached by reporters from the
- 14:03Speaker 3: Australian newspaper, I.
- 14:05Speaker 4: Have any statement about the incident actuality. Do you feel
- 14:09Speaker 4: like you were locked down by the school all by
- 14:12Speaker 4: the pricings? Do you think it might have been in
- 14:14Speaker 4: a reaction.
- 14:16Speaker 3: That's Basom Kerbarge, the founder of activist group Queer Arab Australia.
- 14:22Speaker 3: He has issued a statement apologizing for the incident. He said,
- 14:27Speaker 3: I would like to extend my deepest, heartfelt apologies to
- 14:30Speaker 3: everyone impacted by any of the content found on my
- 14:33Speaker 3: personal social media. Joining me now for more on this
- 14:37Speaker 3: is a research fellow and director of the Institute of
- 14:40Speaker 3: Public Affairs Schools Program, Colleen Hark and Colleen not every
- 14:44Speaker 3: day we have headlines about gay Arab activists saying.
- 14:48Speaker 4: Sorry for elite school dildo scandal.
- 14:51Speaker 3: This is not a headline I was expecting in twenty
- 14:53Speaker 3: twenty five, But here we are.
- 14:55Speaker 12: No.
- 14:56Speaker 13: And unfortunately, it's sort of a part of a pattern
- 14:59Speaker 13: of radical ideology that's been presented in schools that parents
- 15:03Speaker 13: don't know anything about. They sort of rightly send their
- 15:06Speaker 13: children off to school expecting that age appropriate material will
- 15:09Speaker 13: be presented to them during the day, and then they
- 15:11Speaker 13: find out later, after the damage has already been done,
- 15:14Speaker 13: that their children have been exposed to informational content that's
- 15:17Speaker 13: extremely inappropriate.
- 15:19Speaker 4: Absolutely.
- 15:20Speaker 3: Now Trinity Boys' Grammar School has explained that the speaker
- 15:25Speaker 3: was recommended by the taxpayer funded Victorian Pride Center. Why
- 15:33Speaker 3: is this sort of activism in the schools in the
- 15:35Speaker 3: first place. Why do we have these taxpayer funded bodies
- 15:39Speaker 3: pushing this sort of agenda to learning institutions.
- 15:43Speaker 4: What's this got to do with schooling?
- 15:46Speaker 13: Well, and it's also a doubling of deprivation of duty
- 15:52Speaker 13: by both organizations. So the Prime Center, as you say,
- 15:54Speaker 13: it's a tax funded organization, and it says that it
- 15:57Speaker 13: vet's its speakers, which clearly it didn't. It takes two
- 16:00Speaker 13: seconds to do a social media check on the speaker
- 16:03Speaker 13: and his digital footprint, and the school of outsource their
- 16:07Speaker 13: responsibility to the Pride Center. So in both cases it's
- 16:10Speaker 13: completely inappropriate and it has no place in the school agenda.
- 16:15Speaker 13: This business about.
- 16:17Speaker 4: Isolated, is it? Because my son just finished high.
- 16:22Speaker 3: School last year and these days were so frequent.
- 16:26Speaker 4: It wasn't just one day.
- 16:28Speaker 3: You might have one day where they talk about ANZAC
- 16:30Speaker 3: Day or Australia Day, but these LGBTQ days, there's multiple.
- 16:35Speaker 4: We are right, I mean, but they've got where at Purple.
- 16:39Speaker 3: There's this, there's that, there's so trans day visibility.
- 16:43Speaker 13: They're using schools as a pipeline for activism and it's
- 16:47Speaker 13: completely inappropriate. The speaker also wore a kefia, so you
- 16:51Speaker 13: know they sort of say it's politically by partisan or
- 16:55Speaker 13: whatever the convience that whatever, Pride sort of said, but
- 16:58Speaker 13: you know it's it's device in the school environment. I mean,
- 17:02Speaker 13: these sort of scenarios where they're treating schools as places
- 17:04Speaker 13: to promote activism and identity politics is unfortunately very common
- 17:10Speaker 13: in the school place.
- 17:11Speaker 3: I wonder if that activist wearing a kafir talked at
- 17:15Speaker 3: all about the treatment of gay men in places like
- 17:20Speaker 3: Gaza or other parts of the Middle East where there
- 17:23Speaker 3: is actual, real oppression of the LGBT community.
- 17:27Speaker 4: And we've got a note here.
- 17:29Speaker 3: This is an elite boys school, an elite Anglican school.
- 17:33Speaker 3: I mean, does that play no part because there's a
- 17:35Speaker 3: lot a lot of parents who send their kids along
- 17:37Speaker 3: to Christian schools or Catholic schools expecting them to be
- 17:41Speaker 3: protected from this sort of activism, But some of the
- 17:44Speaker 3: Anglican schools are the worst offenders.
- 17:46Speaker 13: Well, unfortunately it is in all schools. Because this issue
- 17:49Speaker 13: of sort of inclusiveness and sustainability is in the national curriculum.
- 17:53Speaker 13: You would think that parents and in their children to
- 17:55Speaker 13: a school, an Anglican school, have a right to not
- 17:58Speaker 13: be exposed to this material. But I would argue that
- 18:01Speaker 13: no school, no school children ought to be exposed to this.
- 18:05Speaker 13: It is an agenda that's inappropriate in the schools, and
- 18:08Speaker 13: schools need to be focused on core academic achievement, not
- 18:13Speaker 13: sort of introducing children into all of this ideology that
- 18:16Speaker 13: has no place. They're too young. It's inappropriate and it's
- 18:19Speaker 13: not the school's job to do this.
- 18:21Speaker 3: And they will say this is all in the name
- 18:23Speaker 3: of tolerance and inclusion, but really this is political. It's
- 18:28Speaker 3: deeply political, and this movement is deeply political.
- 18:31Speaker 13: It's also divisive because the parents who are sending their
- 18:35Speaker 13: children to this Anglican school clearly have made decisions about
- 18:39Speaker 13: their famili's values, and their values are being ignored.
- 18:43Speaker 3: Absolutely, Colleen Harken, thank you so much for your time tonight.
- 18:46Speaker 4: No problem still to come. Lefties losing it?
- 18:49Speaker 3: Plus the latest from the US, including major food manufacturers
- 18:54Speaker 3: getting on board the Make America Healthy Again campaign.
- 18:58Speaker 4: Tina McQueen has the detail.
- 19:10Speaker 3: You're watching the Reader Panny Show, and it's time for
- 19:12Speaker 3: left is losing it. Okay, folks, get ready to lose
- 19:17Speaker 3: some brain cells. Listen to this chat between Bill Maher
- 19:20Speaker 3: and Marxist more on Sean Pen you know the dude
- 19:23Speaker 3: who cozes up to socialist dictators, real dictators. Listen here
- 19:28Speaker 3: as he accuses Donald Trump of negligent homicide, mass negligent
- 19:34Speaker 3: homicide for ending the waste and fraud of US AID.
- 19:39Speaker 8: He's already been the end of hundreds of thousands of
- 19:43Speaker 8: worlds I'm talking about USAA. Yeah, yeah, that's negligent homicide
- 19:50Speaker 8: in any sober world, that's negligent. Her miside.
- 19:54Speaker 3: Oh dear, this man is dumber than a box of rocks,
- 19:58Speaker 3: slightly less useful. Even lifty Bill Maher had to call
- 20:02Speaker 3: him out.
- 20:03Speaker 8: Really, you meet with I don't think and Goshavez, but
- 20:07Speaker 8: not the president of the United States.
- 20:09Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 20:09Speaker 8: I saw good results come out of some of those things.
- 20:13Speaker 8: In terms of it generalates that I had. I don't
- 20:15Speaker 8: think that there's anything that I would I just personally
- 20:20Speaker 8: wouldn't trust anything that was said in the room, including
- 20:24Speaker 8: the personality. Yeah, but you could have told more truth,
- 20:27Speaker 8: or you could have told less truth. I told him
- 20:29Speaker 8: a lot of truth. I told everything. I would have
- 20:31Speaker 8: enjoyed a little more brevity on that. But I absolutely
- 20:34Speaker 8: understand that it's just emotional. You were just triggered. It's possible,
- 20:39Speaker 8: it's possible, it's true that. But I reason this particular
- 20:44Speaker 8: president triggers me rather often. Exactly, he makes people crazy.
- 20:48Speaker 12: He's not making me grazy.
- 20:51Speaker 3: Now, a little reminder of the sort of crazy crap
- 20:55Speaker 3: that Hollywood has been. Sean Penn has speared about Donald
- 20:58Speaker 3: Trump in recent months.
- 21:00Speaker 14: And I do think it's a reasonable theory that Donald
- 21:02Speaker 14: Trump is not unlike the spouse of someone who leaves him,
- 21:07Speaker 14: perhaps for another, who then murders their former partner because
- 21:11Speaker 14: if they can't have her, nobody can. And I think
- 21:15Speaker 14: Donald Trump and his soleb sysm may have that relationship
- 21:18Speaker 14: with the world, and that this destruction is in part
- 21:23Speaker 14: a power play and also a literal intention of his
- 21:26Speaker 14: final out.
- 21:29Speaker 4: You think he'll try to stay on.
- 21:31Speaker 14: I think he might try to destroy the world by
- 21:33Speaker 14: the before he before he ages.
- 21:36Speaker 4: Out of life Waco.
- 21:38Speaker 3: And this from the man who cooses up to brutal dictators,
- 21:43Speaker 3: real ones like Hugo Chavez. This is what Sean Penn
- 21:47Speaker 3: had to say about meeting Hugo Chavez.
- 21:50Speaker 14: I who wish him nothing but that great strength he
- 21:55Speaker 14: has shown over and over again.
- 21:57Speaker 15: It is only possible to be so inspiring as he.
- 22:01Speaker 4: Is told Jesus as dumb as a box of rocks.
- 22:04Speaker 3: As for Bill Maher, I think conservatives have a bad
- 22:08Speaker 3: case of the bigotry of low expectations. When it comes
- 22:11Speaker 3: to Mark we praise him wildly for repeating things conservatives
- 22:16Speaker 3: have been saying for years, but never forget he was
- 22:19Speaker 3: part of the Trump deranged media that did everything in
- 22:23Speaker 3: its power to push catastrophos conspiracy theories to try.
- 22:27Speaker 4: To get Kamala over the line.
- 22:29Speaker 3: But Bill Maher is at least occasionally clever and funny,
- 22:33Speaker 3: more than you can say about the dim witted, painfully
- 22:37Speaker 3: unfunny Stephen Colbert.
- 22:39Speaker 9: Then in August, you're going to be playing Jesus in
- 22:42Speaker 9: Jesus Prices.
- 22:44Speaker 11: At the Hollywood Boys.
- 22:45Speaker 12: I am at the Hollywood Boy.
- 22:47Speaker 9: And first woman to play Jesus in a major production,
- 22:51Speaker 9: long overdue.
- 22:52Speaker 4: I've said for years I'd love to see a woman in.
- 22:54Speaker 3: That bart What an odd thing for a practicing Catholic
- 22:58Speaker 3: to say.
- 22:59Speaker 4: Now, if you want to see what makes anti Trumps are.
- 23:02Speaker 3: So worked up, so perpetually outraged.
- 23:05Speaker 4: Well don't ask these guys.
- 23:08Speaker 16: So yeah, why is that?
- 23:10Speaker 8: I don't know, He's just we don't like him.
- 23:12Speaker 9: That's the word around here.
- 23:13Speaker 8: Any any particular reason why you don't like.
- 23:15Speaker 17: Him, No clue at all.
- 23:16Speaker 12: I'm just going with everybody else saying it.
- 23:18Speaker 18: Would you say any immigration laws an unjust LNG.
- 23:23Speaker 1: I'm for open borders, man, No people are illegal anyway,
- 23:27Speaker 1: this is all our planet.
- 23:29Speaker 3: Let's hear from this leftist lady, a classic awful awfl
- 23:34Speaker 3: affluent white female liberals.
- 23:36Speaker 4: They're a scourge.
- 23:38Speaker 3: Here she explains what has got her and her friends
- 23:41Speaker 3: so angry.
- 23:42Speaker 17: So I'm in my beautiful city, LA and they have
- 23:45Speaker 17: friends texting me like all morning, my gardner didn't show up,
- 23:50Speaker 17: my housekeeper.
- 23:51Speaker 4: Didn't show up.
- 23:53Speaker 17: Oh my farmer's market was closed. Everyone's scared. Well, this
- 23:56Speaker 17: is not going to just happen in LA. And you
- 23:59Speaker 17: one prisoners that only voted for Trump because of money.
- 24:04Speaker 17: Guess what You're gonna have to do your own dishes
- 24:08Speaker 17: or clean your own house from all your own lawn.
- 24:11Speaker 3: Oh no, they're going to lose their illegal cheap labor.
- 24:15Speaker 3: Maybe you can pay real wages to people in.
- 24:18Speaker 4: The country legally.
- 24:20Speaker 3: Do they really think their love of modern day slave
- 24:24Speaker 3: labor is a winning argument? And the one percent overwhelmingly
- 24:29Speaker 3: voted for the Democrats, showing again that the left are
- 24:33Speaker 3: unhinged with hate and violence. Here are some TEDS sufferers
- 24:38Speaker 3: setting up a mini guillotine to behead Trump. And here
- 24:51Speaker 3: are parents encouraging their kids to behave like hate filled
- 24:56Speaker 3: TEDS sufferers a.
- 25:01Speaker 6: Little.
- 25:08Speaker 3: Here is a proud mom with a septum ring. The
- 25:12Speaker 3: septum rings are like a modern day warning system.
- 25:15Speaker 4: You see one and you know you're about.
- 25:17Speaker 3: To be assailed with nonsense.
- 25:20Speaker 15: My husband and my son, my seven year old son,
- 25:26Speaker 15: just walk out the door to go to a note
- 25:27Speaker 15: King's protest and I'm staying home because my other son
- 25:31Speaker 15: does not feel well. And as they were walking out
- 25:36Speaker 15: the door.
- 25:36Speaker 12: I said, thank you for being so brief and going
- 25:40Speaker 12: and doing this. And my son looked at me and said,
- 25:45Speaker 12: will it change things? And I hope so? Body.
- 25:54Speaker 3: No, sorry, it won't change anything. It will not change anything.
- 25:57Speaker 3: Now here's another jokead and agiech Anti Ice anti America
- 26:02Speaker 3: really rally. He's asked a simple question about why didn't
- 26:06Speaker 3: he care when it was Obama deporting millions of people?
- 26:11Speaker 2: Did you vote for Obama and Biden?
- 26:12Speaker 18: I did?
- 26:13Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 26:13Speaker 16: How do you feel about their deportations being day back?
- 26:16Speaker 2: They actually deported more people than the Donald Trump.
- 26:19Speaker 7: Uh, that's a good question because I really wasn't paying
- 26:22Speaker 7: attention at that point, So I don't really I couldn't.
- 26:25Speaker 4: I can't really say at least that one's honest. You've
- 26:28Speaker 4: got to give him that.
- 26:29Speaker 3: Now, this next woman is a hero, an American hero
- 26:33Speaker 3: doing God's work.
- 26:35Speaker 4: Bless your ma'am.
- 26:36Speaker 19: Look, this's got to catch up for the rest of them.
- 26:39Speaker 4: Got a sign ready, already.
- 26:42Speaker 18: Good?
- 26:43Speaker 19: Another privileged staff white man. Look, another privileged heaff white
- 26:49Speaker 19: man who wants illegal illegal especially illegal criminals in the Oh,
- 26:56Speaker 19: look at a party deal what no man bond didn't
- 26:59Speaker 19: have time of your hair up?
- 27:00Speaker 4: Sweety mother, mother.
- 27:04Speaker 3: Now let's hear from elin Omar, a woman who seemingly
- 27:08Speaker 3: loads the country that gave her refuge. Here she claims
- 27:12Speaker 3: that free democratic America is one of the worst places
- 27:15Speaker 3: on earth.
- 27:16Speaker 20: I grew up in a dictatorship, and I don't even
- 27:21Speaker 20: remember ever witnessing anything like that, to have a democracy,
- 27:26Speaker 20: a peacan of hope for the world to now be
- 27:31Speaker 20: turned into one of the you know, one of the
- 27:34Speaker 20: worst countries where the military are in our streets.
- 27:40Speaker 3: Joining me now is Sky News contributor Tina McQueen. Tina
- 27:44Speaker 3: is elin Omar Wright, is America becoming one of the
- 27:47Speaker 3: worst countries on earth with a dictatorship, worse than that
- 27:51Speaker 3: scene in third world countries.
- 27:54Speaker 11: Oh, she's an absolute joke reader. Honestly, she says, it's
- 27:57Speaker 11: such an impressive country to live in. Yet you know,
- 28:00Speaker 11: she's a senator. She has all the luxuries and privilege
- 28:03Speaker 11: of that high office. It's unbelievable. She does nothing but
- 28:07Speaker 11: winge and complain the whole time. I don't know how
- 28:10Speaker 11: she gets voted in. Continue to be honest, she's an
- 28:14Speaker 11: absolute disgrace.
- 28:17Speaker 3: Well, if you look at the place that keeps electing her,
- 28:21Speaker 3: you'll get an idea why she keeps getting re elected. Now,
- 28:24Speaker 3: President Trump was elected on an America First agenda, and
- 28:29Speaker 3: that included no foreign wars that don't serve America's interest.
- 28:34Speaker 3: Have a listened to this argument between Tucker Carlson and
- 28:39Speaker 3: Senator Ted Kruz.
- 28:40Speaker 4: Tucker Caston is certainly.
- 28:42Speaker 3: In the group who do not want to see America
- 28:45Speaker 3: involved in any sort of foreign conflict, particularly in Iran,
- 28:50Speaker 3: But this argument got very fiery.
- 28:52Speaker 9: How many people living around?
- 28:53Speaker 7: By the way, I don't know the population at all. No,
- 28:56Speaker 7: I don't know the population.
- 28:58Speaker 9: You don't know the population of the country. You seek
- 29:00Speaker 9: to topple.
- 29:03Speaker 21: How many people living around ninety two million?
- 29:04Speaker 17: Okay?
- 29:06Speaker 7: Yeah, how could you not know that? I don't sit
- 29:10Speaker 7: around memorizing population tables.
- 29:11Speaker 9: Well, it's kind of relevant because you're calling for the
- 29:14Speaker 9: overthrow of the government.
- 29:15Speaker 7: Why is it relevant whether it will because ninety million
- 29:18Speaker 7: or eighty million or a hundred million.
- 29:19Speaker 21: Why because if you don't know anything about the country,
- 29:21Speaker 21: I didn't say I don't know anything about Okay, what's
- 29:22Speaker 21: the ethnic mix of I wrong? They are Persians and
- 29:26Speaker 21: well predominantly Shia. Okay, you don't know anything about Iran.
- 29:31Speaker 7: So okay, I'm not the Tucker Carlson mixus bird on Iran.
- 29:35Speaker 9: You're a center who's calling there the one government, the
- 29:38Speaker 9: one about the country.
- 29:40Speaker 7: No, you don't know anything about the country. You're the
- 29:42Speaker 7: one who claims they're not trying to murder Donald Trump.
- 29:45Speaker 9: I'm not saying that.
- 29:46Speaker 7: Who can't figure out General Solamoni And you said they're
- 29:50Speaker 7: trying to murder Trump?
- 29:51Speaker 9: Yes, because you're not calling for military strikes against them
- 29:54Speaker 9: in retaliation.
- 29:54Speaker 7: And if they really believe that carrying out military strikes today?
- 29:57Speaker 7: Who said Israel was right with our hell? I said
- 30:01Speaker 7: we Israel is leading them, but we're supporting them.
- 30:03Speaker 9: Well, this you're breaking news here because the US government
- 30:06Speaker 9: last night denied the Nationalist Curity Council Spokesmanlex Favor denied
- 30:10Speaker 9: on behalf of Trump that we were acting on Israel's
- 30:13Speaker 9: behalf in any offensive capacity.
- 30:14Speaker 7: We're not bombing, then Israel's bombing.
- 30:16Speaker 4: Them, Tina.
- 30:17Speaker 3: What Americans need to understand is that the Iranian regime's
- 30:22Speaker 3: ultimate ambition is not the annihilation of just Israel, but
- 30:27Speaker 3: of what they call the Great Satan America. I remember
- 30:30Speaker 3: when I was a kid in Tehran in school, chanting
- 30:35Speaker 3: death to America every morning. That is their agenda, and
- 30:39Speaker 3: Trump's efforts in ending the regimes nuclear ambition is an
- 30:44Speaker 3: America first position.
- 30:46Speaker 4: But so many on the right don't see it that way.
- 30:51Speaker 11: No, You're exactly right, reader. Look at Trump America first.
- 30:54Speaker 11: He's sticking to the agenda he's always said he would.
- 30:57Speaker 11: The main thing is that Iran cannot possibly have any
- 31:01Speaker 11: access to nuclear to any sort of nuclear arms. You know,
- 31:05Speaker 11: Trump isn't trying to overthrow the regime. Naturally, we'd all
- 31:08Speaker 11: love to see the regime overthrown, but this is Israel's attack.
- 31:12Speaker 11: Trump is doing everything he can for peace, and actually
- 31:16Speaker 11: he's keeping everyone guessing. No one knows what his next
- 31:18Speaker 11: move is going to be is going to be, but
- 31:20Speaker 11: certainly he won't want his troops going in. He'll certainly
- 31:24Speaker 11: support Israel, which, of course Tucker has really turned on Israel,
- 31:28Speaker 11: so that may be the cause of his angst in
- 31:31Speaker 11: that interview and his frustration.
- 31:36Speaker 3: But do you see this, though, as a massive risk
- 31:40Speaker 3: to the Trump agenda in fracturing his supporter base or
- 31:46Speaker 3: is it just a few loud voices who are really
- 31:49Speaker 3: behind this campaign against any sort of involvement with America
- 31:54Speaker 3: with this Iranian Israeli conflict.
- 31:57Speaker 4: I mean, so far, really.
- 31:59Speaker 3: Israel has led the charge and the Americans have said
- 32:03Speaker 3: that we stand by them. We haven't seen any strikes
- 32:06Speaker 3: from America yet.
- 32:08Speaker 11: That's right, America hasn't done anything other than support Israel
- 32:13Speaker 11: and you know state the fact they don't want any
- 32:16Speaker 11: in nuclear arms.
- 32:16Speaker 4: Look, it's a.
- 32:17Speaker 11: Few very loud voices. In the end, I think the
- 32:20Speaker 11: Americans that voted for Trump and his popularity is still
- 32:23Speaker 11: strong for second term president better than Obama or Bush.
- 32:27Speaker 11: I think they'll stand by him and trusting him, and
- 32:30Speaker 11: that's what they have to do because ultimately he'll do
- 32:33Speaker 11: what's right for America.
- 32:35Speaker 3: And there are some loud voices who supported Donald Trump
- 32:38Speaker 3: who now want to see him impeach. They're not many,
- 32:42Speaker 3: but they are loud, like comedian Dave Smith, who, by
- 32:46Speaker 3: the way, has been calling for Trump to be impeached
- 32:49Speaker 3: in prison for years. He supported Trump for all of
- 32:52Speaker 3: five minutes, and he's back to wanting him impeached.
- 32:55Speaker 4: I would be very happy.
- 32:58Speaker 2: To see Donald Trump impeached for the illegal, immoral, borderline
- 33:05Speaker 2: war of genocide that he's been helping the Saudi's conduct
- 33:08Speaker 2: in Yemen. Even grading on a curve, he is a
- 33:11Speaker 2: war criminal who deserves to be tried and buried under
- 33:14Speaker 2: the prison, just right alongside Barack Obama and George W.
- 33:19Speaker 2: Bush and John McCain and all the rest of them.
- 33:21Speaker 2: Let me just say this real quick. Donald Trump should
- 33:23Speaker 2: be in a prison for war crimes, for what he
- 33:25Speaker 2: did to the people of Yemen. How's that for taking
- 33:28Speaker 2: on the right. Don't you're just defending your democratic president.
- 33:31Speaker 2: I actually stand.
- 33:32Speaker 1: On principle lockdowns and keeping fauci on the job, and
- 33:36Speaker 1: Yemen and Israel and Iran, and there's just like the
- 33:39Speaker 1: government spending and there's just a lot of them that
- 33:41Speaker 1: it's like I just kind of can't forgive him for
- 33:44Speaker 1: But I think I might vote for Trump.
- 33:47Speaker 16: Yeah, Donald Trump looks and man, I supported him this
- 33:51Speaker 16: last year. I apologized for doing so. It was a
- 33:53Speaker 16: bad calculation. At the time, it seemed like the right one.
- 33:56Speaker 16: But he should be impeached and removed for this one.
- 34:00Speaker 3: Donald Trump has campaigned on stopping the Iranian regime getting
- 34:04Speaker 3: their grubby hands on nukes for years.
- 34:08Speaker 22: Don't let Iran have nuclear weapons. That's my only thing
- 34:13Speaker 22: I have to tell you today. Don't let them have it.
- 34:15Speaker 22: They would have never had them, including around we would
- 34:18Speaker 22: have They can't have a nuclear weapon. That's so, they
- 34:20Speaker 22: can't have nuclear weapons. It's too too destructive, too powerful.
- 34:24Speaker 22: They can't have it. But I wanted to make a
- 34:27Speaker 22: deal with them, no nuclear weapons.
- 34:28Speaker 9: You can't have nuclear weapons.
- 34:30Speaker 3: So now I've got another sixteen minutes of vision of
- 34:34Speaker 3: Donald Trump saying that.
- 34:35Speaker 4: Over the years, just.
- 34:37Speaker 3: Hundreds of times he has had this, has said this publicly,
- 34:41Speaker 3: that he doesn't want to see the Iranian regime get nukes.
- 34:45Speaker 3: That can't get nukes. It would be disastrous for the world.
- 34:48Speaker 3: And yet it seems like his position at the moment
- 34:52Speaker 3: is being treated as some backflip when it's always been
- 34:56Speaker 3: what he is campaigned on.
- 34:58Speaker 11: It's always been the case, you know. So the nuclear
- 35:01Speaker 11: threat is not only to Israel, as you said, Rita,
- 35:04Speaker 11: it's the whole, the whole of the Western world. So
- 35:07Speaker 11: he's been very consistent, consistent on this, and I think
- 35:10Speaker 11: it's you know, he's been right to do so.
- 35:15Speaker 3: Now let's go to the New York Post reporting that
- 35:18Speaker 3: border patrol agents didn't release a single migrant into the
- 35:23Speaker 3: US last month, a staggering drop after the Biden administration
- 35:28Speaker 3: allowed sixty two thousand illegal immigrants crosses into the country
- 35:34Speaker 3: in May twenty twenty four.
- 35:36Speaker 4: So just you can't get much better than that. A
- 35:40Speaker 4: dropped to.
- 35:41Speaker 3: Zero within a year, and it just shows Tina that
- 35:45Speaker 3: everything the political pundits that activists told us was untrue.
- 35:50Speaker 3: They said there were push factors behind this, there was
- 35:53Speaker 3: nothing the Biden administration could do. When really, as soon
- 35:57Speaker 3: as you took the sugar off the table and you
- 35:59Speaker 3: in for some tough, tough policies, the flood of illegal
- 36:04Speaker 3: immigrants stopped.
- 36:06Speaker 11: Unbelievable, a nine percent drop since May May twenty four,
- 36:11Speaker 11: So different to what the Biden administration, who actively encouraged
- 36:15Speaker 11: these in illegal immigrants. It was always, oh, don't worry
- 36:18Speaker 11: about going through legal channels, come in the easy way.
- 36:21Speaker 11: It's insane and Donald Trump and his administration should be
- 36:24Speaker 11: given great credit for this. It's saving the country a fortune.
- 36:28Speaker 11: And not to mention for you know, keeping those dangerous
- 36:32Speaker 11: illegal a lot of them out of the country.
- 36:37Speaker 4: Well that was the issue, wasn't it.
- 36:38Speaker 3: When you've got literally millions crossing illegally every single year
- 36:44Speaker 3: unvetted amongst them, you're going to have people who are
- 36:48Speaker 3: not good people. And they released the figures in recent
- 36:53Speaker 3: years just a disturbing number of killers, rapists, all sorts
- 37:01Speaker 3: of criminals who were able to walk freely in the US.
- 37:06Speaker 11: And not to mention those sanctuary cities though, are giving accommodation, phones,
- 37:10Speaker 11: credit cards, all sorts of things that veterans and homeless
- 37:13Speaker 11: Americans never had access to.
- 37:15Speaker 12: RITA.
- 37:18Speaker 3: Now, this is another win for the MAHA movement Make
- 37:22Speaker 3: America healthy again.
- 37:24Speaker 4: Craft Hinds has announced that.
- 37:27Speaker 3: It will remove artificial food dyes from its products within
- 37:31Speaker 3: the next two years, and another major manufacturer, General.
- 37:36Speaker 4: Mills, announced a similar measure.
- 37:38Speaker 3: They've pledged to remove artificial colors from its full US
- 37:42Speaker 3: retail portfolio by the end of twenty twenty seven.
- 37:47Speaker 4: Good news for the US, But I wonder if.
- 37:50Speaker 3: We're consuming some of these artificial colorings.
- 37:53Speaker 4: Teita right here in Australia. But this is really what RFK.
- 37:57Speaker 3: Junior has been on about to get some of these
- 38:00Speaker 3: ultra processed foods to be a little bit more healthy
- 38:05Speaker 3: for the human body.
- 38:06Speaker 11: Well, what a great appointment are of Kenny turned out
- 38:09Speaker 11: to be. He's doing what's right, particularly for children. I mean,
- 38:13Speaker 11: the obesity rates amongst children adolescents in America is just
- 38:17Speaker 11: disgraceful and he's embarrassed by that and he wants to
- 38:20Speaker 11: make America healthy again. These are the right steps and
- 38:23Speaker 11: if he continues down this path, he will turn around
- 38:26Speaker 11: the health crisis America does have at the moment.
- 38:28Speaker 3: Rita and to have two major food manufacturers on the
- 38:35Speaker 3: same day make this announcement, Tina, I think is really
- 38:38Speaker 3: quite significant. How important is the MAHA movement to the
- 38:44Speaker 3: overall Trump agenda because it seems to be the one
- 38:47Speaker 3: part of his agenda that has got supporters from all
- 38:51Speaker 3: sorts of backgrounds. You've got a lot of people who
- 38:54Speaker 3: may identify as left leaning who understand what RFK Junior
- 38:58Speaker 3: is trying to achieve here.
- 39:00Speaker 11: Well, I think the Kennedy name has a lot of pull.
- 39:03Speaker 11: He's obviously a man of integrity. He's been dedicated to
- 39:07Speaker 11: this for many of years, and he always looks back
- 39:09Speaker 11: to the presidency of his uncle, where health and fitness
- 39:12Speaker 11: was high on the agenda. He wants to bring those
- 39:15Speaker 11: days back and again it's the right move, Reater, but
- 39:18Speaker 11: he does unite everyone from across the board, across the
- 39:21Speaker 11: political spectrum.
- 39:22Speaker 3: Tina, before you go, Australia's relationship with the US is
- 39:26Speaker 3: somewhat fractured right now. Who would you suggest we send
- 39:30Speaker 3: in to try to heal the relationship?
- 39:33Speaker 4: But I think Kevin runs the man for the job.
- 39:36Speaker 4: Who is your pick?
- 39:37Speaker 11: No, I don't think he is. Look there's a number
- 39:41Speaker 11: of eminent Australians that could fit that bill and also
- 39:47Speaker 11: the former ambassador to America. I think he would do
- 39:51Speaker 11: a great job, Gina, Reinhardt is a great relation, a
- 39:54Speaker 11: relationship with the administration. Any one of those would be
- 39:57Speaker 11: better than Kevin Rudd. But it's certainly fractured at the
- 40:00Speaker 11: at RITA.
- 40:03Speaker 3: It certainly is, and Kevin Rud just cannot stay.
- 40:06Speaker 4: In that role.
- 40:07Speaker 3: That relationship is too important.
- 40:10Speaker 4: Tina McQueen, thank you so much for your time today.
- 40:13Speaker 11: Thanks reata still to come.
- 40:15Speaker 3: I speak to a woman who was sold into child
- 40:17Speaker 3: marriage at just twelve years of age, not in Africa
- 40:21Speaker 3: or the Middle East, but in Washington State. Kate Yang
- 40:25Speaker 3: joins me. Next, welcome back. My next guess is someone
- 40:36Speaker 3: who has experienced the horrors of child marriage. Kate Yang
- 40:40Speaker 3: was sold into an abusive child marriage for six thousand
- 40:43Speaker 3: dollars in her home state of Washington by her family,
- 40:47Speaker 3: which was just twelve years old, something that is not
- 40:51Speaker 3: uncommon in the indigenous culture of the mun An ethnic
- 40:55Speaker 3: group from Southeast Asia.
- 40:57Speaker 4: Kate joins me.
- 40:59Speaker 3: Now, Kate, thank you so much for your time tonight.
- 41:02Speaker 3: Tell me about how you came to be sold into
- 41:05Speaker 3: an abusive marriage at just twelve years of age and
- 41:09Speaker 3: how something like this could happen in Washington State.
- 41:13Speaker 18: Well, the thing is that in Washington State and a
- 41:16Speaker 18: lot of Theeds, actually there's not lost protect children from
- 41:19Speaker 18: being sold into child marriages. From my situation, I actually
- 41:23Speaker 18: grew up in Fresno, California. When I was at the
- 41:26Speaker 18: age of eleven, my family had me moved to Washington
- 41:29Speaker 18: to live with relatives. And then when I moved to Washington,
- 41:33Speaker 18: I was only at the age of eleven and I
- 41:35Speaker 18: was living with an aunt and an uncle, and my
- 41:38Speaker 18: aunt was actually the one who found me the child
- 41:40Speaker 18: marriage and crushed me into it and forced me into
- 41:43Speaker 18: the child marriage.
- 41:45Speaker 4: You were not only a child bride.
- 41:48Speaker 3: Your childhood just seems to be such a horrific experience.
- 41:55Speaker 4: You were also essentially a child's slave.
- 41:57Speaker 3: Tell me about what you were forced to do to
- 42:00Speaker 3: pay off your parents' debt.
- 42:03Speaker 18: Yes, So, basically, when I was given less than twenty
- 42:08Speaker 18: four notice that I was moving to Washington, and then
- 42:13Speaker 18: my mother shared with me that like, I had to
- 42:15Speaker 18: come live with my unt uncle because I had to
- 42:17Speaker 18: pay off a debt. Because when I was a child,
- 42:19Speaker 18: my mom was a single mother, and in my culture,
- 42:22Speaker 18: a husband can have more than one wife, and daughters
- 42:26Speaker 18: are just meant to be sold off for a dowry.
- 42:29Speaker 18: And unless you're a son, then you carry the last
- 42:31Speaker 18: name and you are treated differently by the family and
- 42:34Speaker 18: the community, and you're kind of put on a pedestal
- 42:37Speaker 18: if you're a son. And so when I moved to
- 42:40Speaker 18: Washington to live with my aunt and uncle, my mom
- 42:43Speaker 18: told me I had to pay a debt because when
- 42:45Speaker 18: my mom was single, my aunt uncle had to help
- 42:47Speaker 18: my mom raise us, and so therefore I had to
- 42:50Speaker 18: return the debt by helping my aunt and my uncle
- 42:52Speaker 18: with their children, raising their five kids under the age
- 42:55Speaker 18: of six, and so moving to Washington was extremely difficult.
- 43:00Speaker 18: Taking on that huge responsibility. Being away from my mother
- 43:03Speaker 18: was extremely difficult. I had a very rough childhood, so
- 43:08Speaker 18: I really didn't know what to do with what to
- 43:11Speaker 18: do with the situation. And also during that time, it's
- 43:13Speaker 18: very scary because you're a child and you don't know
- 43:16Speaker 18: and you're in a new environment. You don't know who
- 43:19Speaker 18: you can trust, especially when you've endured a lot of
- 43:22Speaker 18: abuse growing up and also seeing your mother being abused
- 43:25Speaker 18: by your father as well. You know, that's something I
- 43:27Speaker 18: had to live through. After my wedding, my mother in
- 43:32Speaker 18: law on my first day of school, right she told me,
- 43:35Speaker 18: she said that if I go to school, I'm not
- 43:38Speaker 18: allowed to talk about my child marriage to anybody. She
- 43:41Speaker 18: my mother in law, told me that if I was
- 43:43Speaker 18: to share this news with anybody, then my mother would
- 43:46Speaker 18: be arrested by the police and my sisters would be
- 43:49Speaker 18: taken by the CPS and I would never see them again.
- 43:53Speaker 18: So if you just think about the mindset of a
- 43:55Speaker 18: child at the age of twelve, I just barely turned
- 43:57Speaker 18: twelve because my birthday's in October, so my wedding was
- 44:00Speaker 18: in February, right, so I just turned twelve, and so
- 44:03Speaker 18: I had all this fear that if I spoke about it,
- 44:06Speaker 18: then I would be my problems would come to my
- 44:09Speaker 18: mother and my siblings, and I would never see them again.
- 44:12Speaker 18: So I kept my silence to protect my family, and
- 44:15Speaker 18: so I stayed and so ever since, ever since my
- 44:18Speaker 18: mother in law said that to me, I was just
- 44:20Speaker 18: so frightened, you know, I didn't know what would happen
- 44:22Speaker 18: to me or who would take care of me, and
- 44:25Speaker 18: so it was very scary time in my life, and
- 44:28Speaker 18: I did my best to work through it, but it
- 44:30Speaker 18: was extremely challenging. And because my in laws had a farm,
- 44:35Speaker 18: I was forced to work on a farm as well
- 44:37Speaker 18: as a child's I call it child slave. Because I
- 44:40Speaker 18: didn't have the right, you know, to resist or not write.
- 44:45Speaker 18: I had to live a double life, meaning that I'd
- 44:47Speaker 18: go to seventh grade and pretend that I'm a normal
- 44:49Speaker 18: seventh grader. The school allowed me to be enrolled using
- 44:54Speaker 18: his parents as my parents. You know, I would call
- 44:57Speaker 18: his parents mom and dad. His parents were on my
- 45:00Speaker 18: registration when they enrolled me into middle school in Carnationian
- 45:04Speaker 18: Washington in Washington, you know, and so nobody asked any
- 45:07Speaker 18: questions at all. And I think a lot of it too,
- 45:10Speaker 18: is that Americans or other I would say other people
- 45:14Speaker 18: are afraid to ask some times because they don't want
- 45:16Speaker 18: to be rude. But I feel like in this now
- 45:19Speaker 18: that we know, my whole purpose behind this is that
- 45:23Speaker 18: I would like people to ask more questions because a
- 45:26Speaker 18: lot of times these children are subjected to child bride
- 45:28Speaker 18: or slavery. And if you don't ask questions, how would
- 45:32Speaker 18: you know how to help them or how would you
- 45:33Speaker 18: know that they actually are an abuse the situation and
- 45:37Speaker 18: they need help, right Yeah, So that's one thing that.
- 45:43Speaker 3: You know, this is an issue in the community you
- 45:47Speaker 3: come from, and the other girls who are in the
- 45:50Speaker 3: same situation right now.
- 45:52Speaker 4: How do you encourage them to seek help?
- 45:56Speaker 3: Because you've got all those threats hanging over your head,
- 45:59Speaker 3: all those fees, years of everything you experienced, and have
- 46:03Speaker 3: you talked with lawmakers to try to change the laws
- 46:08Speaker 3: to make it easier for these girls just escape these
- 46:11Speaker 3: abusive relationships?
- 46:14Speaker 18: Well, by advice to anybody who is a victim and
- 46:17Speaker 18: survivor who needs help would be to reach out. The
- 46:22Speaker 18: whole purpose of my advocacy work is to let survivors
- 46:26Speaker 18: know that I've been there, and I've been through it,
- 46:28Speaker 18: and I've survived. I'm here and calling I'm essentially calling
- 46:32Speaker 18: out to them, letting them know that help is here
- 46:35Speaker 18: and please don't be a free to come forward. Reach
- 46:38Speaker 18: out to myself on my social media account or Unching
- 46:42Speaker 18: that Last. Unching that Last is actually a nonprofit organization
- 46:45Speaker 18: that I work with. They're Unctioning at Last and also
- 46:49Speaker 18: is on her.
- 46:50Speaker 3: You're doing incredible work, Kate. By just speaking out the
- 46:53Speaker 3: advocacy you're doing, I'm sure you're going to be saving
- 46:57Speaker 3: many other girls from the terrible faith that you experience
- 47:00Speaker 3: for eleven years.
- 47:01Speaker 4: You were eleven years in that marriage.
- 47:03Speaker 3: Kate Yang, thank you so much for your time tonight,
- 47:06Speaker 3: and that's it from me.
- 47:08Speaker 4: Don't go anywhere. Newsnight is up next.
- 47:10Speaker 3: I'll see you at eleven tomorrow night
