- 0:37crazy thing called Middle age. It's a mix of stories of how we
- 0:40navigate our lives and maybe some questionable advice.
- 0:43Some days we're wise, other days we're just trying to remember
- 0:46where the heck we left our. Phone.
- 0:48So join us as we laugh, groan, and maybe even learn a little
- 0:51something about surviving in the second-half of life.
- 0:53Oh, and one more thing. Hey, I'm Rob, and you know what
- 1:05it is welcome to. And one more.
- 1:08Yeah, you know what it is One more thing.
- 1:10What was that? Oh my God.
- 1:12There is a there is obviously a lizard in my mouth.
- 1:15I can't talk. OK, let's try that again one
- 1:17more time. Here we go.
- 1:20Hey, hey, I'm Rob, welcome to 11 More Thing.
- 1:22Hey, everybody, I'm Brian. Hey, what is new with you today,
- 1:25Rob? What is new with me today?
- 1:27It is a gorgeous, fantastic day and we're going to give a little
- 1:30bit of insight into how far we record these things because you
- 1:32know what happened today. What happened today, Rob?
- 1:35Travis and Taylor got engaged. You're giving away all our
- 1:39secrets. Here I know or we.
- 1:40Record these out. I know, but it was a little bit
- 1:42the second story on the national news.
- 1:44That's how important it is. It is sort of important, but I
- 1:47didn't really care. Sorry, I know well.
- 1:50My daughter's probably jumping up and.
- 1:52Down. Oh, my daughter did, yeah.
- 1:53She got crazy about it, yeah. Apparently I heard that broke
- 1:56Instagram for a while today. Really.
- 1:57Yeah, Well, I wasn't on Instagram today.
- 2:00Yeah, me neither, but apparently it was broken.
- 2:02Hey, question for it. Do you know what the capital of
- 2:04Australia is? No.
- 2:07Canberra. Or, as most, most people say,
- 2:09wait, it's not Sydney. So I seriously was just about to
- 2:14say that because I thought for sure it had to be Sydney.
- 2:17No, it's so. Rumor has it that you're like a
- 2:21trivia buff enthusiast or whatever you call it.
- 2:24Yes, I am. I love trivia, especially bar
- 2:26trivia. Did you?
- 2:27So you frequented all the the scenes in the back in the day?
- 2:30All the time. All the time.
- 2:31Yeah, So back and I get back in the day in a world.
- 2:34We are getting up there in Twilights, yes.
- 2:37We are. Do you remember a place called
- 2:38Cattle Company? I do, yeah.
- 2:41A little A. Little restaurant up in the area
- 2:42up here and after work on Wednesday nights we would get
- 2:45done in probably about nine, 9:30 We'd head over cattle
- 2:47Company that a little bar area. It was a steak restaurant for
- 2:49those not in the know. And by 9930 it's pretty quiet.
- 2:53But the bars hopping? Well, not really 'cause it's a
- 2:55steak restaurant, right? Nobody's there.
- 2:57That's where people our age now go, right?
- 2:59Exactly. So we go there at 9:30 and they
- 3:01had the the old NTN National Trivia Network trivia.
- 3:04We had the little little boxes, We had the little the keypads.
- 3:07You played and there's on the TV screens.
- 3:08Yeah. Jump in and you get faster, you
- 3:10answer, you get more points and blah, blah, blah, Right.
- 3:12Go every Wednesday and nobody's in the bar, just us.
- 3:16We get some appetizers, get some drinks.
- 3:18Bartenders got to know us after a while, so they give us free
- 3:21drinks. So it was great.
- 3:23We loved it. Right.
- 3:24Yeah, yeah. Funny, the place isn't open
- 3:26anymore. I wonder why?
- 3:27Maybe the free drinks? Maybe, yeah.
- 3:29And so a few years ago, kind of right before COVID in town here,
- 3:33we had a ground round open. You remember ground rounds I.
- 3:35Do remember ground round? They had NTN trivia.
- 3:37Oh, awesome, but you were like the star.
- 3:40Oh, it's. Not the star, but it was
- 3:41fantastic. We'd go on a Sunday to hang out
- 3:43for a few hours, play some trivia, have some drinks, get to
- 3:47know the bartenders, maybe get a free get a free drink once in a
- 3:51while. So you have friends?
- 3:54Well, you know that bar is not open anymore, right?
- 3:56Because they all left. Maybe the free drinks that
- 3:59helps? Again, free drinks so.
- 4:02Word of advice, here's my pro tip of the day if you are
- 4:05working in a restaurant, don't give away the free drinks
- 4:07because they're going to close. That's not the only reason.
- 4:11Why? Not the only reason, but I do
- 4:12miss that place. Bad.
- 4:13They used to have peanuts on the floor, remember that?
- 4:15A ground round. Well, back in like.
- 4:17This well before, yeah, a long time ago and.
- 4:19Then peanut allergies became a thing and they couldn't do that
- 4:21anymore. Oh, rats.
- 4:22They did a free popcorn. That was good.
- 4:23Yeah. That's good.
- 4:24Yeah. So for all you brainiacs and
- 4:26trivia buffs out there, put on your phones and put on your
- 4:30thinking caps because it is trivia night here at oh, and one
- 4:34more thing or day, depending what time you're listening to
- 4:37this. So maybe you want to play along.
- 4:40It'll be fun. It'll.
- 4:40Be a great time. Yeah, so just to clarify, we
- 4:43each wrote trivia questions and we did not give each other the
- 4:46answers. So we're going to read them and
- 4:49go back and forth and see who is the bigger trivia buff.
- 4:54There you go. We need to get a point for every
- 4:55right answer and we're going to tally and see who's winning at
- 4:57the end. And I, I don't know, I hope I do
- 4:59well. I'm I'm a little nervous.
- 5:01You'll do fine. OK, let's go.
- 5:03Oh wait, wait, we can't go yet. What is it, Rob?
- 5:07We. Have to do the spring green
- 5:08minute here really quick. Oh.
- 5:10Yeah, the spring green. Minute, So I have a good story
- 5:12for you this week. So we just started doing Spring
- 5:14Green, started doing total home pest control.
- 5:17Total home pest Control. Yeah, so we take care of your
- 5:20little creepy crawlies, your spiders and your box elder bugs
- 5:23and ladybugs, those kind of things.
- 5:24And then we also do some little rodent elimination for you too.
- 5:28But A? Little bit.
- 5:29So I have a cricket in my basement.
- 5:30Sure. Can you get rid of it for me?
- 5:33We can work on getting rid of it for you, actually get rid of it
- 5:35for you. Those are a little bit more of a
- 5:36challenge, but yes, we can work on that.
- 5:38Awesome. Yeah, I'll have you over.
- 5:39Yeah, but let me tell you my mouse story.
- 5:40So we haven't typically had a mouse problem here in our house.
- 5:43A couple times we have. So we went away once for about a
- 5:46week. We had a electrician come in, do
- 5:48some electrical work, and I think he left the door open
- 5:50because we came home. We found a little mouse and four
- 5:52little babies in our basement. So cute little.
- 5:56Babies, unless they're in your house.
- 5:58So put a little traps, get rid of them blah blah blah.
- 6:01Well a couple of months ago we're doing some moving some
- 6:03furniture around in the house and brought a couch upstairs to
- 6:05the garage. Left the door open and
- 6:07everything's fine. Well we're done with that and
- 6:09we're sitting watching TV and look in the corner of my eye and
- 6:12I swear I saw something run across the carpet.
- 6:15Like look at my wife and like she's she's did you see
- 6:18anything? She was known 2 seconds later
- 6:20there. It's a mouse.
- 6:21There's a mouse in our house. Did she jump on top of the
- 6:24front? No.
- 6:25She goes, oh I thought I saw something earlier Oh my gosh
- 6:28you're killing me. So anyway, the mouse again in
- 6:31the house second time ever so put us some traps overnight woke
- 6:34up the next day mouse has gone spring green started doing total
- 6:37home pest control. So had spring Green out, put up
- 6:39some bait traps outside the house.
- 6:41Yeah, everything's fine, right? Yeah.
- 6:43But a week later, go outside and I found there's a little dead
- 6:45mouse sitting outside our house. Wanting to get in, but he could.
- 6:48Yes, So clearly we had mice in our house, and I had no idea,
- 6:51had no clue until those traps went out outside.
- 6:54The traps were bait stations. So what happens?
- 6:56The mice eat the little little baits and then eventually it
- 6:58dries them out and they die, right?
- 6:59You want them to bring it back to the little nest and then kill
- 7:01the little nest? That's what's happening.
- 7:03So the whole goal of the program is to keep those pastels, creepy
- 7:06crawlers outside of your house. OK.
- 7:08That that makes sense. So.
- 7:10Then here 20 years, almost never thought we had a mouse problem.
- 7:13We clearly have a mouse problem so but it's now taken care of.
- 7:16It's done. It's done.
- 7:17And why? Spring Green's Total Home Pest
- 7:19Control. Perfect.
- 7:20Thanks, Spring Green. So should we jump into this
- 7:23trivia? Let's do it.
- 7:25OK. All right.
- 7:26So we're going to go back and forth with a question and we'll
- 7:29see what happens all. Right, here we go.
- 7:31OK. Rob, this is your first question
- 7:33now. I think it might be kind of
- 7:34easy, but we'll see how this this goes, OK?
- 7:36Shoot. What color was E TS glowing
- 7:39finger? Well, I'm gonna go kind of a
- 7:43cross between red and orange, but that hue of color, Let's go.
