- 0:10Speaker 1: all right, what's up?
- 0:12Speaker 1: Welcome back.
- 0:13Speaker 1: It's the north florida sports network, your mother's favorite podcast, the north florida sports network.
- 0:21Speaker 1: Uh, we got, we got miami contributor justin back on.
- 0:27Speaker 1: It's been a while.
- 0:28Speaker 1: What's up, man?
- 0:30Speaker 2: uh, just licking my wounds, man no man.
- 0:34Speaker 2: Ah tough loss last night in the play-ins yeah yeah, brought to you by so far it was a fun one, though honestly it was a very entertaining game, uh, to watch.
- 0:46Speaker 2: Um, yeah, it wasn't.
- 0:50Speaker 2: Uh, it's these two teams and the heat kind of do this.
- 0:54Speaker 2: Uh, when you play them, they drag you down into their style of basketball, which is more like of a 90s style of ball, whereas it's like nitty-gritty defense.
- 1:07Speaker 2: You know lots of physical play, contact, I mean, like they still try and get away with hand-checking out on the perimeter, and so there's actually some defense that gets played.
- 1:18Speaker 2: It's not just like a three-point shootout.
- 1:20Speaker 2: And then you know lobs and dunks, which is unfortunately what a lot of modern nba is yeah, well, you know now they but jimmy butler's hurt, so yeah, no but that was.
- 1:35Speaker 1: That was the kind of game though, because of who you're going to play, you just want to play the knicks.
- 1:41Speaker 1: It's almost like the Heat fully healthy or the Sixers would have been.
- 1:46Speaker 1: I would have picked either of those teams at over the two-seeded Knicks.
- 1:50Speaker 1: This was a huge game in that.
- 1:52Speaker 2: In that regard, it's almost like the losers out yeah, pretty much, um, like me and you had talked about that leading up to the game, uh, where I like desperately, desperately wanted to win that game last night, because then you, then we get the knicks and I think we beat the knicks right.
- 2:08Speaker 1: Uh, I think we beat the knicks in five well the knicks are have overachieved, you know, and it's like the regular season nba type of record well, and they lost julius randall towards the end of the season.
- 2:19Speaker 2: Yep, and, and that would have been a huge deal jaylen brunson is not going to single-handedly beat the Heat, nope, I don't care.
- 2:28Speaker 1: Even with Julius Randle, I think they need another.
- 2:32Speaker 2: Oh yeah, no.
- 2:33Speaker 1: But it was a great season, though I don't think there's any like if I was going to say for a two-seed.
- 2:38Speaker 1: Usually you're like, oh, they lost in the first round, it's a failure.
- 2:43Speaker 1: But for this next team I wouldn't say that.
- 2:46Speaker 2: Well, and not even just for the Knicks in this specific scenario.
- 2:50Speaker 2: But if you look at the, the difference in records between the heat and the eight seed and the Knicks and the two seed, there's only like a three or four game gap.
- 3:02Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 3:02Speaker 1: I mean it's like theeltics are 20 games up on everybody and then there's like eight teams that are all separated by five games right, and I can't remember a team that's been more shoo-in to make it to the finals, like all year, or the more like when the playoffs started.
- 3:23Speaker 1: I can't remember a team that's had more pressure on them to win it than this celtics team um, I would say the uh.
- 3:32Speaker 2: Last time there was pressure on a team to win a championship, uh, like the celtics are facing now, would be the uh, the heat, yeah uh in the second year of the big three okay, okay, yeah, that after after after JJ Barea posted up uh, lebron James left and right.
- 3:49Speaker 1: Just to bait, yeah, but the dot like.
- 3:52Speaker 1: Just on that record alone, I mean you have your best record in the NBA, not just the Eastern conference, but overall record.
- 3:57Speaker 1: Um, this is, the games aren't even close.
- 4:00Speaker 2: Right, Like they're, they're blowing teams out, man, Like I mean it was like like Alabama, right you know, would blow teams out in college football in certain seasons where, like, every game was a three touchdown game.
- 4:11Speaker 2: That's kind of how the Celtics have been this year Like they're scary, scary good.
- 4:16Speaker 1: Right, but you know we'll see if Should be able to run to the east.
- 4:21Speaker 1: So you think that the Heat will play the Bulls.
- 4:24Speaker 1: So the Bulls beat the 10 seed.
- 4:28Speaker 1: You know they had to play.
- 4:30Speaker 1: Who did they play last night?
- 4:31Speaker 2: The Hawks, the Hawks and the Bulls.
- 4:35Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean right now.
- 4:36Speaker 1: They're playing the Heat, so the winner of that game will get the Celtics.
- 4:40Speaker 2: What's funny is this is exactly how the playoffs started last season, Right?
- 4:44Speaker 2: Exactly Losing the first play in game and then winning the second one, and then taking down the bucks in the in the first round.
- 4:52Speaker 1: Yep, yep.
- 4:52Speaker 1: And unfortunately, if they had Jimmy Butler, I wouldn't be shocked if they did that same thing, but with him being injured, that's hard to imagine.
- 5:03Speaker 2: Yeah, and cause, like you could see last night in the game, because, because jimmy went down, uh, in the first quarter and, uh, you know jimmy being jimmy, uh, he did not come out of the game the entire game.
- 5:16Speaker 2: Oh, okay, um, uh, he was basically in the second half.
- 5:22Speaker 2: He was ineffective, to say, to give him credit, he was ineffective, but he was a ghost in the second half and it really affected the whole team defense Because, like watching the game, jimmy Butler had four steals in the first half, yeah or not, the Celtics, the Sixers, were turning the ball over left and right in the first half, um, the celtic or not the celtics, the sixers were, uh, were, turning the ball over left and right in the first half.
- 5:48Speaker 2: Joel and bead couldn't hit water on a fishing boat in the first half, right.
- 5:56Speaker 2: And then it is the craziest thing because, even to start the second half, uh, the heat were maintaining their double digit lead until about halfway through the third quarter.
- 6:06Speaker 2: And then in philly, you know, they've got that stupid thing they do where if a guy from the opposing team misses two free throws, everybody gets free chicken fingers or something.
- 6:16Speaker 2: Well, dude, it happened about halfway through the third quarter.
- 6:22Speaker 2: He got to the line, missed both free throws.
- 6:26Speaker 2: The crowd started going nuts because they were getting their free chicken and that led to a crazy run.
- 6:32Speaker 2: The Sixers responded to that crowd noise.
- 6:35Speaker 2: Jimmy Butler couldn't do anything, tyler Hero turned the ball over a handful of times, duncan Robinson didn't play, terry Rozier didn't play.
- 6:44Speaker 2: I mean honestly, the guy that impressed me the most from the Heat was the guy I told you about early in the season on one of the podcasts actually the rookie from UCLA, hami Haikaz Jr.
- 6:57Speaker 2: He balled his ass off last night.
- 7:00Speaker 2: He always got someone.
- 7:02Speaker 2: Oh, always.
- 7:04Speaker 1: So they'll play uh friday or this weekend yep, it's friday night okay, and so stew or die against the bulls, against the bulls, jimmy reno, that's late as usual, yeah, uh.
- 7:20Speaker 1: So the nba man playoffs.
- 7:22Speaker 1: Let's go ahead and let's just pick the series.
- 7:24Speaker 1: Let's go through all the series and see who we're gonna win.
- 7:25Speaker 1: I haven't really.
- 7:26Speaker 1: This is just now when I'm starting to get into it, you know, and because I I said around Christmas I was like it's gonna be the Celtics and the Nuggets.
- 7:33Speaker 1: I mean, is anything change?
- 7:36Speaker 1: No, okay, great, but let's pick it anyway, all right.
- 7:43Speaker 1: So, um, we'll start with the.
- 7:45Speaker 1: You got the Celtics beating any of these teams in this series, right?
- 7:51Speaker 2: Yeah, unfortunately yeah, without Jimmy Buckets, the Heat gets swept.
- 7:57Speaker 1: You got the Magic and the Magic are ahead of schedule and the Magic are the five seed in the East this year playing the Cavs.
- 8:03Speaker 1: It's good to see Orlando back in the playoffs man, yeah, it is.
- 8:08Speaker 2: And that Orlando team's a fun team man.
- 8:10Speaker 2: Paulo Banqueiro's a fun kid to watch your boy here from Tallahassee.
- 8:15Speaker 2: Jonathan Isaac has finally been healthy this year and shown what he can do defensively and rebound on the ball, and he's even developed a three-point shot.
- 8:24Speaker 2: The Magic are a fun little team man.
- 8:26Speaker 3: Like I.
- 8:27Speaker 3: I like the magic.
- 8:27Speaker 3: He's been healthy in like three years.
- 8:30Speaker 2: He hasn't been healthy since he was at FSU man.
- 8:33Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah.
- 8:34Speaker 1: Well, who do you get?
- 8:35Speaker 1: Do you think they pull off the?
- 8:36Speaker 1: Uh, the series win here.
- 8:39Speaker 2: Yeah, take the magic man um um I I I like what they're doing there.
- 8:48Speaker 2: Um I like their style of play.
- 8:49Speaker 2: I like their young guys.
- 8:50Speaker 2: Um I I love franz wagner.
- 8:51Speaker 2: I mean that guy is awesome.
- 8:52Speaker 3: I love him from michigan okay um, yeah, having to play against him florida state went up against him and hunter dickinson, that's right that guy was good so we're going magic here against the celtics and then, uh, so we'll go to the other side.
- 9:04Speaker 1: You're gonna have the knicks playing against the sixers.
- 9:07Speaker 1: I I'm taking the sixers in this.
- 9:10Speaker 1: I, I think I was gonna.
- 9:12Speaker 1: I was gonna lean on the winner of that game last night remember when it would be ewing and barkley right, um, but it's still.
- 9:20Speaker 1: This is gonna be a fun series, I think, because you know you're playing madison square garden.
- 9:24Speaker 1: Brunson's got a heart of a bear, even though he's the sides of a.
- 9:24Speaker 1: This is going to be a fun series, I think, because you're playing Madison Square Garden.
- 9:25Speaker 1: Brunson's got a heart of a bear, even though he's the size of a cub, but he's not going to have enough with Randall out and a bead back for the Sixers.
- 9:37Speaker 1: Maxie is really developed as a nice player and I think they're going to have what it takes as a nice player and I think they're going to have what it takes.
- 9:47Speaker 1: They, they, no-transcript.
- 9:52Speaker 2: I would tend to agree with you.
- 9:55Speaker 1: I'm going to pick the Sixers to beat the Knicks in that.
- 9:56Speaker 1: Do you agree?
- 9:57Speaker 1: Sixers over the Knicks?
- 9:59Speaker 2: I'll tell you why I'm actually going to take the Knicks.
- 10:02Speaker 1: Oh, okay.
- 10:04Speaker 2: Because if you watch that game last night, if you just look at the numbers, you see Joel Embiid had 23-15 and then like six or seven assists.
- 10:12Speaker 1: I mean it was right down the middle in like every statistical category.
- 10:17Speaker 2: But if you actually watched the game, embiid is a shell of himself.
- 10:24Speaker 2: Yeah, he didn't come alive to the fourth quarter, and to say he even came alive in the fourth quarter is kind of a stretch.
- 10:32Speaker 2: He had a couple of walk-up wide-open threes where the Heat guy didn't even bother putting a hand in his face.
- 10:40Speaker 2: Um, he had a couple of big rebounds, but other than that, um, dude, the reason the Sixers beat the heat last night was because Nicholas Batum went off.
- 10:51Speaker 2: When he came off the bench, dude, hit like five three-pointers in a row in the second half.
- 10:55Speaker 2: Um, and be uh, he, he, just he.
- 11:00Speaker 2: Physically, he, he's not back from the injury yet, man, he's uh.
- 11:03Speaker 2: So you got the news.
- 11:04Speaker 2: Yeah, his conditioning's not there, his, uh, his vertical jump's not there.
- 11:09Speaker 2: Um, if you leave him open, he's still gonna hit, he's, he can still jump.
- 11:12Speaker 2: You know, hit a jumper, um, and he can still rebound pretty decently.
- 11:16Speaker 2: But he's not Joel Embiid right now, and I'll take a healthy Brunson over a crippled Embiid at this point.
- 11:25Speaker 1: All right, then let's go to the 3-6 in the East, and that is going to be the Pacers and the Bucs, the series that everyone's looking forward to.
- 11:36Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah.
- 11:43Speaker 1: I'm sorry, I don't.
- 11:44Speaker 1: There's pressure on the Bucs man.
- 11:48Speaker 1: You can't lose it again.
- 11:50Speaker 1: You ain't got Lillard.
- 11:51Speaker 3: Indiana loves their Pacers man.
- 11:52Speaker 3: Oh, I know no matter where you are in that state.
- 11:56Speaker 1: I would not be surprised to see them again.
- 11:59Speaker 1: I mean Bucs last year, lost as the one seed to the Heat.
- 12:04Speaker 1: We saw it.
- 12:05Speaker 1: Well, they have enough.
- 12:08Speaker 1: Now they got Lillard.
- 12:09Speaker 1: I don't think they have the defense to stop as many people, and in the playoffs is Giannis as lethal as he can be, you know, because he can just foul him yeah you know I mean it's more still, though, that's like he's unstoppable.
- 12:26Speaker 1: But I don't know, man, I think Lillard's overrated.
- 12:31Speaker 1: I know you started, uh, you wanted him on the heat.
- 12:33Speaker 1: I think he's fun to watch.
- 12:35Speaker 1: He's in it.
- 12:37Speaker 1: You kind of saw it this year with the Bucs man.
- 12:39Speaker 1: They're not as good.
- 12:40Speaker 1: He can score but he can't stop anybody.
- 12:43Speaker 2: That's not on Lillard, dude.
- 12:44Speaker 2: Oh, I know, but the Bucs were 20 games over .500.
- 12:48Speaker 2: They fired their coach, brought in the guy that clearly has dirty pictures on every single person in the NBA, the worst coach that ever has been called a good coach, doc Rivers.
- 12:59Speaker 1: Doc Rivers has tanked that team dude.
- 13:02Speaker 2: Yeah, he's got it, and that's why the Bucs are going to lose.
- 13:05Speaker 2: The Bucs are going to lose this series because Doc Rivers is their coach and Doc Rivers sucks.
- 13:10Speaker 3: Yeah he really is Period.
- 13:14Speaker 1: Yeah, I was just going to say the pressure.
- 13:15Speaker 1: I'm going Pacers in the series too, so you're going Pacers as well.
- 13:17Speaker 3: Yep and it's all on Doc Rivers man, I got six and the seven.
- 13:20Speaker 1: You got the two and the six.
- 13:21Speaker 3: Well, I, mean how many coaches really could have coached three Hall of Famers to an NBA title.
- 13:26Speaker 1: Yeah right.
- 13:27Speaker 3: And that's real special Doc.
- 13:28Speaker 1: I mean dude, especially in the water.
- 13:31Speaker 3: With Sam on the bench as a player slash coach, like what did he even do, right?
- 13:37Speaker 3: Except just make funny faces in front of the camera.
- 13:39Speaker 3: Well, so the East.
- 13:40Speaker 1: I think I'm a fellow doc hater, there's not going to be anybody.
- 13:43Speaker 1: I mean, honestly, the Celtics shouldn't be even pressed to six games in any series until the finals.
- 13:49Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, they shouldn't even get to game six in any of these Eastern Conference playoff series.
- 13:56Speaker 1: But so there, game six in any of these Eastern Conference playoff series.
- 14:01Speaker 1: So there we go.
- 14:01Speaker 1: I got Boston, you got the Knicks, I'm taking the Sixers and I'm also taking the Pacers.
- 14:04Speaker 1: So that gives us and we're both taking the Magic too over the Cavs.
- 14:13Speaker 1: So we got the Magic playing the Celtics in round two.
- 14:15Speaker 1: We have the Sixers, I have the Sixers playing that Pacers.
- 14:20Speaker 1: You have the other way around Nick's would play the Pacers.
- 14:24Speaker 1: Let's go to the West.
- 14:24Speaker 1: The Lakers beat the Pelicans, so they're going to match up against the defending champ, the nuggets.
- 14:31Speaker 1: That's going to be the premier series of round one, the defending champions against, you know, a team that probably matches up well against them physically, but in a seven game series it's not going to be enough.
- 14:42Speaker 1: I think the lakers push it to maybe six.
- 14:45Speaker 1: Um, give me the nuggets in six I'm with you, jimmy.
- 14:51Speaker 3: No, I don't think it's going to take six.
- 14:52Speaker 2: That's saying all right I'm actually 100 with you on that dude.
- 14:57Speaker 2: Um, I I I think the the lakers are a good physical matchup.
- 15:01Speaker 2: Um, I think lebron wins one game single-handedly, because he always seems to do that right and anthony davis will do that too.
- 15:08Speaker 2: But yeah, I, I'm with you, I think it's uh, I think it's denver in six.
- 15:12Speaker 2: I think the lakers push them, but uh, denver closes them out in six this might, yeah, all right so.
- 15:16Speaker 1: So I'm taking Denver in that series and the Oklahoma City Thunder locked up the one seed in the West, I mean.
- 15:23Speaker 3: Who are their big guns?
- 15:24Speaker 3: Again, you told me yesterday I was just about to Chet Holmgren, chet Holmgren, oh yeah, paul.
- 15:28Speaker 2: Skinner my kid Chet Holmgren.
- 15:31Speaker 1: What a pro.
- 15:31Speaker 1: Once Alexander guy, he's got like three names.
- 15:33Speaker 3: Yeah, they got that.
- 15:34Speaker 3: He's been around.
- 15:35Speaker 3: Yeah, he's been around.
- 15:36Speaker 3: He's been coming Played at.
- 15:37Speaker 1: Kentucky.
- 15:38Speaker 1: Yeah, he's been coming.
- 15:39Speaker 2: Sage, yeah, just call him the law firm.
- 15:41Speaker 1: But those two I mean.
- 15:43Speaker 1: But you know Oklahoma City, they just been keep stacking up picks.
- 15:46Speaker 1: Finally they got some players.
- 15:47Speaker 3: Who's their point guard?
- 15:49Speaker 2: Just playing point for them and who's OKC playing matching up against?
- 15:55Speaker 1: they're going to have the uh, the loser of, I mean the winner of the, the playing game.
- 16:02Speaker 1: So it's going to be the it's going to be a match at the West was actually really competitive this year.
- 16:07Speaker 1: It'll be the Kings.
- 16:08Speaker 1: They, they put away the warriors, so they'll match up against the Pelicans.
- 16:12Speaker 1: Uh, the winner of that game We'll have.
- 16:15Speaker 1: The winner of that game will have to play them.
- 16:17Speaker 1: So you got Zion.
- 16:18Speaker 2: Zion's a hurt also.
- 16:20Speaker 1: Yeah, he came out of that game.
- 16:21Speaker 1: He looked unstoppable for a minute.
- 16:23Speaker 2: He always does.
- 16:24Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly, yeah, that's true.
- 16:27Speaker 3: The West was a lot more competitive.
- 16:28Speaker 3: That man is supposed to be playing basketball, Right.
- 16:30Speaker 3: That's true.
- 16:32Speaker 1: He's supposed to be playing rugby, right?
- 16:33Speaker 1: Oh my goodness, he does it like a human being he's unstoppable.
- 16:41Speaker 2: I'll roll with OKC in the first round.
- 16:42Speaker 2: Okay.
- 16:43Speaker 1: I mean, yeah, just one seed here.
- 16:48Speaker 2: I mean yeah, I mean if the Pelicans get in there with no Zion, I mean OKC's got the best record out there in the West for a reason.
- 16:57Speaker 2: Man.
- 16:57Speaker 2: Chet Holmgren is a freak of nature.
- 16:59Speaker 2: Like you said, gildas Alexander was an MVP candidate for a majority of the season.
- 17:04Speaker 2: So yeah, I'll roll with the one seed on that one, me too.
- 17:08Speaker 1: I'll go with that one.
- 17:08Speaker 1: So we've got the Nuggets and the Thunder taking care of business.
- 17:12Speaker 1: Let's go to the Suns the 3-6 matchup.
- 17:14Speaker 1: The Suns, the 3-6 matchup.
- 17:16Speaker 1: The Suns are the sixth seed against the three-seeded Timberwolves.
- 17:19Speaker 1: This is going to be a fun one.
- 17:22Speaker 1: This is one of those late-night ones when you're having trouble sleeping.
- 17:27Speaker 1: Yeah, Anthony.
- 17:31Speaker 2: Edwards is fun to watch.
- 17:31Speaker 2: Yeah, nobody knows him.
- 17:32Speaker 1: You got Booker and you got I mean, that's what I was saying this is going to be a fun series.
- 17:37Speaker 1: It's going to be a lot of good offense on display.
- 17:39Speaker 1: You got Kevin Durant, booker versus, you know, anthony Edwards.
- 17:45Speaker 3: And Gobert is on the Timberwolves.
- 17:46Speaker 3: Is that?
- 17:47Speaker 3: Not signing him is what started the downfall of Florida State basketball.
- 17:50Speaker 1: Yeah, he ended up going to Georgia, but man, what a freak he is putting it together.
- 17:56Speaker 1: I'm going to take the Timberwolves in this series.
- 18:00Speaker 1: I think they've been knocking on the door.
- 18:03Speaker 1: I like the defensive presence they have with Gobert, and I think it's about time for Edwards to break through.
- 18:11Speaker 3: I mean, I think he's going to come in there with something to prove, right?
- 18:14Speaker 3: It sounds like he's kind of taking it personally that nobody talks about him, right?
- 18:18Speaker 3: It's like mvp, you gotta do it in the playoffs, yeah you gotta do it in the playoffs in the nba, clearly.
- 18:23Speaker 1: I mean, this is our first time talking about the damn sport, yep, you know.
- 18:26Speaker 1: So, like I mean, I know that's not, but seriously, that's what it is.
- 18:30Speaker 1: It's a play, it's a playoff sport.
- 18:32Speaker 2: Hey, some of us have been paying attention all season.
- 18:35Speaker 3: Yeah, I see I know, with baseball and basketball it's just the sports you like, but NBA playoffs they play so many games.
- 18:42Speaker 1: It's a different type of it just goes up a notch.
- 18:45Speaker 2: It's almost like a different game.
- 18:46Speaker 2: It really is Real season starts.
- 18:49Speaker 1: It's not like baseball.
- 18:50Speaker 1: We play 162, so you're almost.
- 18:53Speaker 3: Oh my God, that's ridiculous, ridiculous.
- 18:54Speaker 1: but this is where this is where you have to make.
- 18:57Speaker 1: You have to do it if you want people to know you.
- 18:59Speaker 1: And if anthony edward wants to be that star, he's got to win a series over kevin durant.
- 19:05Speaker 1: You know that's a big that.
- 19:07Speaker 1: Everyone knows who that is.
- 19:08Speaker 1: So take him down that and more people will be like, oh wow, and maybe do one of those crazy dunks that I see sometimes, which are insane.
- 19:21Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean it should be pretty easy to beat Kevin Durant in the playoffs because he's not surrounded by Klay Thompson, Steph Curry and Draymond Green.
- 19:24Speaker 2: Yeah, and that's the only time he wins.
- 19:26Speaker 2: Yeah, so I'm taking Minnesota man, and we didn't even mention Carl Anthony Towns.
- 19:31Speaker 1: Right, well, I know, I know, that's enough.
- 19:37Speaker 2: Exactly.
- 19:37Speaker 2: I mean you got a bunch of guys on Phoenix who are who would be great in a pickup game out at Rucker park, but none of them play defense.
- 19:44Speaker 2: Yeah, KD's old Right, they have no size on the inside Right.
- 19:49Speaker 2: Um, I mean, go bear is going to stuff everything that they've come and try and do.
- 19:53Speaker 1: They're just going to have to hit all their threes.
- 19:55Speaker 2: I'm rolling with the timber wolves man.
- 19:56Speaker 1: I thought phoenix was overrated all year which is gonna be a great second round match up.
- 20:01Speaker 1: That nobody really knows.
- 20:03Speaker 1: You know, denver, minnesota, that I mean that will be a fun match it would be a fun one, but all right.
- 20:09Speaker 1: So all right, let's go to the four, five in the west.
- 20:12Speaker 1: That'll be the last one that we pick, and this is gonna be a fun one.
- 20:15Speaker 1: The clippers are matching up against the mavericks.
- 20:18Speaker 1: You got.
- 20:21Speaker 1: Uh is quiet, it's quite gonna play um.
- 20:25Speaker 1: Everything I've heard is yes, he is well, if he plays, I'm picking the clippers and if he doesn't?
- 20:35Speaker 2: I'm picking the mavericks I I can't pick the clippers again.
- 20:39Speaker 2: I mean, the clippers are like the suns.
- 20:41Speaker 2: They've got a bunch of stars and they suck in the postseason year after year after year injuries yeah and who's gonna stop luca?
- 20:49Speaker 2: Yeah, but who's?
- 20:51Speaker 2: Who's luca's unbelievable dude?
- 20:54Speaker 1: I mean my god this is gonna be a fun series I got the math.
- 20:58Speaker 1: I don't think it'll go that far.
- 21:03Speaker 1: Okay, you're going Mavs in.
- 21:05Speaker 2: I have no faith in Kawhi and James Harden and Russell Westbrook.
- 21:10Speaker 2: I mean if those are three or four main guys, dude those are all.
- 21:15Speaker 2: He's the only one that I have any kind of faith in, and that old playoff P is going to show up.
- 21:20Speaker 1: If Kawhi Leonard's healthy, he's reliable.
- 21:23Speaker 1: I mean, he's a champion, he's won multiple championships, I mean, but his thing is health and you don't ever know with him.
- 21:32Speaker 1: He doesn't talk.
- 21:35Speaker 2: I don't even know that Kawhi really likes playing basketball.
- 21:37Speaker 2: I think he just plays because he's good yeah yeah, exactly, I got to do this, man.
- 21:43Speaker 3: I don't want to do this All right.
- 21:44Speaker 1: Well, yeah, we'll see All right.
- 21:47Speaker 1: So you got to.
- 21:48Speaker 1: That's it.
- 21:49Speaker 1: There's your first round prediction.
- 21:52Speaker 1: I'm looking forward to it.
- 21:56Speaker 2: I was until about three minutes left in the first quarter last night.
- 22:00Speaker 1: Who are you going to be rooting for when the Heat bow out Friday?
- 22:04Speaker 1: So, like who's your, I know you're still going to watch.
- 22:08Speaker 2: Oh, of course I am.
- 22:09Speaker 2: I know, but who?
- 22:10Speaker 1: are you going to be like?
- 22:11Speaker 1: Who's going to be your team?
- 22:16Speaker 2: Honestly, I'll probably jump on the Magic bandwagon because, like I was saying, I like the makeup of the team, I like their style of play and they're kind of the plucky underdogs.
- 22:24Speaker 2: They're the Magic Right, I agree.
- 22:26Speaker 2: And then on the west side, I'm pulling for the Mavs.
- 22:30Speaker 2: Man, I want to see Luka.
- 22:31Speaker 2: Oh wow, I want to be able to watch Luka as much as I can, because he's just so damn good man.
- 22:38Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know, man, I'm with you on the magic.
- 22:42Speaker 1: I wouldn't mind seeing a little bit of the timber wolves, but got my boy, terrence man, out there for the Clippers.
- 22:49Speaker 1: Yeah, but you know, one of those teams you know with me, I like, you'll kind of I kind of find out when I watch it there could be a team that you start liking.
- 22:59Speaker 1: You know the run they they put on, but right now I still think it's going to be the Nuggets and the Celtics.
- 23:06Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I think, barring anything crazy, it's Nuggets and Celtics, right?
- 23:12Speaker 2: So you?
- 23:14Speaker 1: have some fun series in this first round, just for entertainment purposes.
- 23:17Speaker 1: But I don't think it's really we'll see.
- 23:21Speaker 1: I mean, if the Lakers can pull off the upset, then everything's wide open.
- 23:27Speaker 1: But all right.
- 23:28Speaker 1: Well, justin, we got your NBA.
- 23:29Speaker 1: Talk the Miami spring game.
- 23:31Speaker 1: Man you excited?
- 23:32Speaker 1: Were you excited about that?
- 23:34Speaker 1: Did it happen already?
- 23:36Speaker 2: I actually think it did happen because we had a bunch of guys hit the transfer portal.
- 23:41Speaker 3: Yeah, I saw Brown Jacurdy Brown.
- 23:45Speaker 3: Yeah, thank God.
- 23:45Speaker 3: Yeah God, he looked bad in the spring game.
- 23:48Speaker 2: I mean if he's transferring back to the 1970s, then he's going to win a Heisman, because that dude cannot be stopped running the option.
- 23:54Speaker 2: Unfortunately he can't throw.
- 23:56Speaker 3: Yeah, I've heard that some FCS schools like Valdosta State Pham have reached out and he's pretty much his camp has told him nah, you know we're going for a big time offer.
- 24:08Speaker 3: Good luck with that, um, but the the one and two quarterbacks looked fine.
- 24:13Speaker 3: Yeah, it's gonna.
- 24:14Speaker 3: You know that was the thing like under underrated move there getting that kid from albany to be the number two quarterback yeah, yeah, you were actually.
- 24:23Speaker 2: I remember we were talking about that.
- 24:24Speaker 1: They had did no, no faith in Harris Right.
- 24:27Speaker 1: That's when they went and got that little guy.
- 24:30Speaker 1: That was just for the clipboard.
- 24:32Speaker 3: Well, Brown.
- 24:32Speaker 3: And then the kid that got hurt in the FSU game last year.
- 24:35Speaker 3: Well, if something were to happen.
- 24:36Speaker 1: You want a guy that knows the playbook and is not going to be a pop key when he gets out.
- 24:41Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly, a pop key, exactly.
- 24:48Speaker 2: Full whistle.
- 24:48Speaker 2: We're gonna bring steven garcia back I am, I'm man.
- 24:52Speaker 1: We got a long time to go yeah, I am not for the spring game.
- 24:55Speaker 1: We're gonna talk about the fsu spring game in a little bit, but I'm not.
- 24:58Speaker 1: I don't even really care yeah, it's a spring game.
- 25:01Speaker 2: They don't even tackle half the time.
- 25:02Speaker 3: If you want to go go because you want to go have fun tailgate you know see some friends enjoy the experience but don't well, you're gonna be able to like buy stuff, get autographs, do all kinds of stuff with players now, like they'll come out and do little fan meet and greets and all that.
- 25:16Speaker 2: So right it's not even about the game yeah, it's just about you're not going to tell anything from the game, but yeah, as a canes fan, I wouldn't mind going and tailgating with you guys for the spring game this saturday, just for the reasons you guys said yeah.
- 25:29Speaker 2: Yeah, just to get together, talk a little football, drink some beer I mean, there's things that you want to see.
- 25:34Speaker 1: I mean I, you obviously want to see dj throw it deep once cool all right, let's see if the punter can still punt.
- 25:41Speaker 1: Cool, let's go but yeah, I think this should be one of those fan kind of days, you should.
- 25:46Speaker 1: I wouldn't mind seeing schools put up like competitions, races and do like uh, you know, throwing competitions or bench press stuff or something fun that you're gonna do that.
- 25:57Speaker 3: You do anyway, and just put a little like challenge mike norville to a pull-up contest right, just something like yeah, exactly I beat you, I get season tickets right something like that.
- 26:05Speaker 1: I think that would be really cool.
- 26:07Speaker 2: That's like what they used to do back when I was a kid, with the NFL quarterback challenge and the fastest man in the NFL and those type of things.
- 26:16Speaker 2: Man, I love watching that.
- 26:18Speaker 2: I remember that.
- 26:19Speaker 3: I remember that.
- 26:20Speaker 1: But for FSU they're only going to have two quarterbacks Brock Glenn and Luke Chrome andk are both going to be out this saturday, so it'll be dj and the preferred walk-on, trevor jackson he doesn't.
- 26:35Speaker 1: He looks pretty good, I mean physically, I mean I don't they got a couple other walk-ons.
- 26:40Speaker 3: That'll get some time.
- 26:41Speaker 1: Okay, and it's you know, go out, have some fun um, but it is time for we have time for that yet portal combat and we kind of mentioned earlier earlier Ja'Gory Harris jumping in there, ja'curry.
- 27:05Speaker 3: Brown, ja'curry Brown, whatever.
- 27:09Speaker 2: Whatever?
- 27:10Speaker 3: They both suck.
- 27:15Speaker 2: Yeah, no, I would say the biggest loss that Miami has right now in the portal is I can't pronounce the pass rusher's name, but we lost a pass rusher.
- 27:26Speaker 2: Okay, oh, nigel E Kelly is um, I can't pronounce the uh, the pass rusher's name, but we lost a pass rusher, okay, oh, nigel kelly, yeah it's like, it's like n-j-a-l-i-k or something yeah, I can't pronounce.
- 27:34Speaker 2: I don't know how it's pronounced yeah, he, uh, he.
- 27:36Speaker 3: He's getting talk with usc and colorado.
- 27:39Speaker 3: Colorado's lost like 14 players already to the transfer portal.
- 27:43Speaker 3: Um, so we'll see what goes on out there.
- 27:46Speaker 3: I do read that miami is in good position for oregon state running back damian martinez I'm telling you that's an all pack 12 running back right there, average 6.3 yards to carry about 1600 yards I got a feeling about this year's game.
- 28:01Speaker 1: I think this is going to be.
- 28:03Speaker 1: I mean, it's always right for us it's for us, but I think this is going to be where everyone in the country again will have their eyes on this game when it comes around.
- 28:13Speaker 1: I think miami was.
- 28:16Speaker 1: You saw it last year on the lines of scrimmage.
- 28:18Speaker 2: If they can get a quarterback, they're going to be right there yeah, oh yeah, and like jimmy was just saying the, uh, damian martinez kid coming in and uh, right, you upgraded running back.
- 28:28Speaker 3: You've upgraded quarterback already, damian.
- 28:29Speaker 2: Martinez, he's going to be splitting carries with Fletcher because Fletcher is a monster.
- 28:34Speaker 1: We saw that kid at the end of last season For the year.
- 28:38Speaker 2: No, not for the year.
- 28:39Speaker 2: He's dealing with a foot injury right now.
- 28:42Speaker 3: So they'll be bringing him back, maybe a little cautiously, but he's right.
- 28:45Speaker 3: Martinez and Fletcher are going to be getting.
- 28:48Speaker 2: That's a two-headed monster.
- 28:50Speaker 3: It's why you've seen a couple of running backs from Miami jump in the transfer portal.
- 28:54Speaker 3: They knew what was up.
- 28:55Speaker 1: Okay, and that is Florida State lost in Lyman right that jumped in.
- 29:00Speaker 3: It's just rumors right now.
- 29:02Speaker 3: You're going to have to wait until after the spring game.
- 29:07Speaker 1: Oh yeah, that's right.
- 29:07Speaker 1: Okay, I just wanted to hit the song then, so we really don't have anything.
- 29:09Speaker 3: Not for Florida State, okay.
- 29:12Speaker 2: I mean, we could always talk Mortal Kombat.
- 29:13Speaker 2: I always liked to fight with Scorpion, he was my favorite.
- 29:18Speaker 3: Yeah, he had the hook.
- 29:19Speaker 3: Yeah, you're damn right man, and he's one of the few that I knew the fatality code like little.
- 29:26Speaker 2: Yeah, his fatality was super easy.
- 29:28Speaker 2: Yeah, you didn't?
- 29:32Speaker 3: you didn't play more with combat?
- 29:33Speaker 3: Huh, we got to get on out of here, no, I was too busy.
- 29:36Speaker 1: I actually did I actually did, man.
- 29:38Speaker 3: You got there Raven.
- 29:39Speaker 3: What'd you say, raven, raven?
- 29:42Speaker 3: It raven it's raiden raiden.
- 29:49Speaker 3: Raiden raiden was a wrestler in ecw in the 90s man yeah, whatever man jim, you never even seen aladdin?
- 29:52Speaker 3: No, I haven't.
- 29:52Speaker 3: You're right, that's weird.
- 29:53Speaker 3: I've seen clips and I've you know isn't that kind of crazy, never seen I feel like I have seen it, though with as much like media coverage as it's got for my entire life.
- 30:04Speaker 3: I don don't really need to see it Like all the biggest parts.
- 30:08Speaker 3: You know, I've heard, seen all the clips of Robin Williams as the genie.
- 30:12Speaker 1: Well, last time we talked to you, Florida State swept Miami in baseball.
- 30:18Speaker 2: Then got crushed by Mercer, then got crushed by Mercer.
- 30:21Speaker 1: But I mean honestly, I was surprised they haven't lost the midweek game yet.
- 30:25Speaker 1: It's when you're not throwing your best pitcher in baseball and you're playing a team like Mercer who's not chopped liver.
- 30:32Speaker 2: They can rake every year.
- 30:33Speaker 1: If you're going to throw your fit, who knows what line pitcher On those midweek games?
- 30:42Speaker 3: Clemson lost to South Carolina upstate the other week.
- 30:45Speaker 1: This happens all across the country.
- 30:47Speaker 1: Nothing to worry about there.
- 30:48Speaker 1: Big series for the Noles coming up against.
- 30:50Speaker 2: Wake.
- 30:51Speaker 1: Forest this weekend.
- 30:52Speaker 1: Jimmy will be all over that.
- 30:53Speaker 1: We got the spring game to get to UFC was pretty awesome last time, wasn't it?
- 31:02Speaker 2: Oh man, this past Saturday UFC was amazing dude.
- 31:05Speaker 2: Starting from the very first fight, the early pre-lens, the pre-lens, the main card Every fight was an absolute banger dude.
- 31:14Speaker 1: And then you're looking and you got O'Connor's coming back right.
- 31:19Speaker 2: Yes, UFC 303, June 29th.

- 31:37Speaker 1: That's right, man.
- 31:38Speaker 1: We got spring game.
- 31:41Speaker 1: That means portal combat next week.
