Latest / Girls Gone Hallmark | Hallmark Movie Reviews / Santa Tell Me (Encore)
Transcript
- 0:02Speaker 1: This week we are airing encore episodes of some of
- 0:06Speaker 1: our most memorable movies and reviews from the past five years,
- 0:09Speaker 1: and our pick from twenty twenty four is Santa tell Me.
- 0:14Speaker 1: I feel like, if you've been listening to these reviews
- 0:17Speaker 1: all week long, these throwbacks, you've heard a real evolution
- 0:21Speaker 1: from Girls Gone Hallmark. I certainly hope you have. Over
- 0:26Speaker 1: five years of reviews, it still makes me uncomfortable that
- 0:29Speaker 1: we're reves re shared some of our early episodes. Sure. Yeah,
- 0:34Speaker 1: sometimes I see what people are listening to and I'm thinking, oh,
- 0:37Speaker 1: don't do that, don't go that far back in the archives.
- 0:42Speaker 1: But I think we're really in our lane with Santa
- 0:44Speaker 1: tell Me, don't you think? Absolutely? And I think also
- 0:47Speaker 1: Hallmark is really in their lane in this movie. This
- 0:50Speaker 1: was honestly kind of a surprise hit for me. And
- 0:54Speaker 1: I don't know if you remember, but your first impression
- 0:56Speaker 1: of this movie was do I need to watch when
- 0:58Speaker 1: Calls the Heart? Oh? No, I mean, Daniel, listen, guys
- 1:04Speaker 1: wo Awie s Howie. We hope you enjoy this throwback
- 1:07Speaker 1: review from Girls Gone Hallmark. This is a Bramble Jam podcast.
- 1:30Speaker 1: Welcome to Girls Gone Hallmark, A Hallmark Review Podcast. I'm
- 1:33Speaker 1: Megan and I'm a longtime Hallmark fan. I'm Wendy. I'm
- 1:35Speaker 1: a former Hallmark hater. Today we are discussing Santa Tell Me,
- 1:40Speaker 1: which originally premiered on the Hallmark Channel on Saturday, November ninth,
- 1:44Speaker 1: twenty twenty four. You can hang out with us on
- 1:47Speaker 1: the podcast is over. Follow us on Instagram. We're Girls
- 1:51Speaker 1: Gone Hallmark on Instagram. Hey, if you are looking to
- 1:55Speaker 1: join another Facebook group, we've got one. It's Girls Gone Hallmark.
- 1:59Speaker 1: Come on over and talk about Hallmark movies. Though not
- 2:04Speaker 1: a lot, we haven't really been talking about these movies
- 2:07Speaker 1: that much. No, I haven't seen a lot of feedback.
- 2:10Speaker 1: We're gonna have to get that discussion. I'm curious what
- 2:11Speaker 1: everybody thought of these movies. You can always email us
- 2:14Speaker 1: your thoughts on these movies. We are Girls Got on
- 2:17Speaker 1: Hallmark at gmail dot com. You can ask questions, you
- 2:21Speaker 1: can let us know what you think of our opinions
- 2:23Speaker 1: of these reviews. We love to hear from you. We
- 2:27Speaker 1: do have some thoughts from an email from listener Mike
- 2:30Speaker 1: that we'll be sharing later in this episode. Wendy, I
- 2:33Speaker 1: hear you have some Hallmark news and notes. I do. Hey,
- 2:38Speaker 1: Sleepy Kitty pa is on blue Sky. Now, yeah, do
- 2:42Speaker 1: you have a Blue Sky account? I do. I just
- 2:44Speaker 1: joined last night. Did you have to wait? I kind
- 2:47Speaker 1: of say, like, at one point you had to get
- 2:49Speaker 1: an invite over there. That's how I got in. I
- 2:52Speaker 1: remember the days of social media like that, when you
- 2:54Speaker 1: had to wait for an invite. That's how Gmail used
- 2:57Speaker 1: to be. I had to get Email. Yes, when Email
- 3:00Speaker 1: first launched, you had to get an invite. My Gmail
- 3:03Speaker 1: account was from the invite only days. Interesting. Ah, yes,
- 3:07Speaker 1: And there was like a Gmail swap website where you
- 3:09Speaker 1: could post like what you would do for an invite.
- 3:12Speaker 1: It wasn't dirty. I was like, oh, I worked for
- 3:16Speaker 1: the MS Society at the time, Like, oh, make a
- 3:18Speaker 1: donation to the MS Society. I was like, my man
- 3:21Speaker 1: has MS. Here's your invite. Now remember when I can't
- 3:25Speaker 1: even remember these social media sites that I don't even
- 3:28Speaker 1: think it exists anymore. But sure, yeah, people would get
- 3:31Speaker 1: like ten invites when they joined. Well, Blue Sky was
- 3:33Speaker 1: the same way up until here. That's how I got in,
- 3:35Speaker 1: like six nine months ago. Oh no, I just joined
- 3:38Speaker 1: last night under a personal account. Maybe we need one
- 3:41Speaker 1: for girls gone Hallmark. Sure, I'll work on that anyway.
- 3:45Speaker 1: Back to Sleepy Kitty, PA reported that Hallmark Mystery continues
- 3:50Speaker 1: to struggle with ratings. The movie Five Gold Rings had
- 3:56Speaker 1: only five hundred and forty thousand live viewers during its
- 4:00Speaker 1: premiere on Thursday, November seventh. Yeah, while Santa tell Me
- 4:05Speaker 1: earned a twenty twenty four high for the network with
- 4:08Speaker 1: two point two five three million live viewers, Trivia at
- 4:14Speaker 1: Saint Nick's pulled in one point one zero two million
- 4:18Speaker 1: live viewers. I wish I could compare that to last year.
- 4:23Speaker 1: The conversation over there is should Hallmark Mystery still be
- 4:27Speaker 1: putting out new movies? New Christmas movies? Well, I guess
- 4:32Speaker 1: what I wonder is should they all be just down
- 4:34Speaker 1: the Hallmark channel? Yeah? Exactly. You think it's too much
- 4:37Speaker 1: for people to keep up with absolutely, especially with Hallmark Plus. Yeah,
- 4:43Speaker 1: I do. Yeah. I think someone who's not like Hallmark
- 4:47Speaker 1: on the brain daily like you and I are, I'm like, yeah,
- 4:51Speaker 1: I could break it down what the difference is. But
- 4:53Speaker 1: based on the number of questions we see, like when
- 4:56Speaker 1: is countdown to Christmas coming to Hallmark Plus, I think
- 5:00Speaker 1: maybe people need a more streamlined way to access these movies. Yeah,
- 5:03Speaker 1: and I think there's a lot of competition on Thursday
- 5:05Speaker 1: nights too, because you got Thursday night football. Oh right now, Yeah,
- 5:11Speaker 1: I think I think it would be either eliminate. Well.
- 5:16Speaker 1: I also think that Thursday night drop is new like
- 5:19Speaker 1: in the past it was. Yeah, I don't think we
- 5:21Speaker 1: were getting Thursday night Hallmark Mystery drops. What did those
- 5:26Speaker 1: drop Sunday Fridays. I don't recall. I'd be lying if
- 5:29Speaker 1: I knew, but I feel like it was Friday, Saturday
- 5:32Speaker 1: Sunday split between the channels, and then sometimes we would
- 5:35Speaker 1: get like a Hallmark Mystery and a Hallmark Channel drop
- 5:38Speaker 1: on the same nights. Yeah. I feel bad for those
- 5:42Speaker 1: movies that are over there because they're just not getting
- 5:44Speaker 1: the eyeballs. Why I feel bad, I'm not saying they're stinkers.
- 5:49Speaker 1: I've enjoyed several of them this season, so there's a
- 5:51Speaker 1: lot of play there. I've also read some feedback that
- 5:55Speaker 1: viewers are not looking for heavier content. Some of those
- 6:00Speaker 1: movies are a little bit heavier in tone. I guess sure.
- 6:05Speaker 1: And I also think like maybe there's a I get
- 6:08Speaker 1: my Hamemark Mysteries branded Hallmark Mystery. But then I think
- 6:13Speaker 1: there's like a little bit of a mismatch with the
- 6:15Speaker 1: branding when you drop Miracles of Christmas over there. I
- 6:19Speaker 1: get wanting to separate Miracles of Christmas out, but I
- 6:24Speaker 1: think maybe people are like, what's happening on Hallmark Mystery?
- 6:26Speaker 1: I don't fully understand. Definitely, they'll they'll figure it out. Also,
- 6:31Speaker 1: in addition, there is the conversation of Hallmark should not
- 6:36Speaker 1: be dropping Christmas movies before November. What are your thoughts? Interesting?
- 6:44Speaker 1: If they're gonna do forty, you gotta drop them. Who's
- 6:47Speaker 1: those forty is the magic number? Though? Right? Are they
- 6:50Speaker 1: competing with themselves at this point? I think they are.
- 6:52Speaker 1: That's a good point. If you're gonna stick with that
- 6:55Speaker 1: forty number, if you've decided that's the number, you gotta
- 6:59Speaker 1: drop them early. Other way, it's too many. You're just
- 7:02Speaker 1: getting a barrage of movies coming out. I'm fine with
- 7:06Speaker 1: like a November first start, me too, Okay, moving on,
- 7:11Speaker 1: James Vaughn. You know who I'm talking about. Oh, this
- 7:15Speaker 1: is Jonathan Bennett's husband. He dropped a holiday EP of
- 7:19Speaker 1: all original holiday music on Tuesday, November eleventh, called Feels
- 7:24Speaker 1: Like Christmas. He will have an original song called Home
- 7:28Speaker 1: for the Holiday, featured in Seasons Greetings from Cherry Lane
- 7:32Speaker 1: on Hallmark Plus on December fifth. Now, hey, we got
- 7:35Speaker 1: a preview from mister James Vaughn on the Christmas Cruise
- 7:40Speaker 1: because he sang two songs he did. It was great
- 7:42Speaker 1: closing night. He's incredible, very talented. I'm so excited for him,
- 7:47Speaker 1: and I had read this article because Variety covered an
- 7:51Speaker 1: exclusive interview with him, huh from the cruise because Variety
- 7:56Speaker 1: was on the cruise anyway. He said that he and
- 7:59Speaker 1: I'm pair for He wanted to put out an album
- 8:01Speaker 1: of like original music that just makes you feel good,
- 8:04Speaker 1: and I just I love it. I'm how exciting that
- 8:07Speaker 1: it's going to be in a movie this year too.
- 8:09Speaker 1: I'm excited for him me too. That's all I got
- 8:11Speaker 1: for Hallmark News. Let's hear a synopsis. A design show
- 8:15Speaker 1: host finds a letter from Santa promising to meet her
- 8:19Speaker 1: true love in man named Nick by Christmas Eve. Meeting
- 8:24Speaker 1: three Nicks complicates her search. Ryan Landells wrote and directed
- 8:30Speaker 1: Santa Tell Me. This is Ryan's eleventh writing and directing credit.
- 8:34Speaker 1: He also wrote and directed the upcoming movie Sugar Plumbed.
- 8:38Speaker 1: I Am Looking forward to that one me too, Janelle Parish,
- 8:41Speaker 1: isn't it right? Yeah? Is this his first Hallmark project? Though? Yeah,
- 8:46Speaker 1: these are his first two Hallmark projects. Wow, that's crazy,
- 8:50Speaker 1: considering like you've never written or directed for the network before,
- 8:55Speaker 1: and now you have two movies. Yeah, in one year,
- 8:58Speaker 1: in one season you hotly anticipated us as well. Interesting.
- 9:03Speaker 1: Aaron cracosars as Olivia. Aaron has seventeen acting credits, getting
- 9:07Speaker 1: her start on the show Army Wives. The rest of
- 9:11Speaker 1: her resume is almost entirely Hallmark, including one hundred and
- 9:15Speaker 1: twenty two episodes of When Calls the Heart. Daniel Lissing
- 9:20Speaker 1: plays Chris. Daniel has thirty two acting credits and was
- 9:23Speaker 1: in both When Calls the Heart and the spinoff, When
- 9:25Speaker 1: Hope Calls. Benjamin Airs, Christopher Russell and Kurt Zarka play
- 9:29Speaker 1: the Three Nicks. Benjamin can be seen in The Santa
- 9:34Speaker 1: Clas and Happy Holidays from Cherry Lane, both this holiday season.
- 9:39Speaker 1: Christopher Russell was most recently seen in a Costa Rican Wedding,
- 9:44Speaker 1: and Kurt is also in both The Santa Class and
- 9:48Speaker 1: Happy Holidays from Cherry Lane. Jess Brown plays Darcy just
- 9:53Speaker 1: as a Hallmark maybe with a one episode appearance on
- 9:55Speaker 1: Chesapeake Shores. Santa Tell Mey was filmed outside of Vancouver
- 10:00Speaker 1: in February twenty twenty four. Yeah, way back. This was
- 10:03Speaker 1: one of our first announcements. Yeah we know, really a
- 10:07Speaker 1: year of Jill Like, we are going to take a
- 10:09Speaker 1: quick break and come right back with our first impressions
- 10:11Speaker 1: of Santa tell me. It is time to share your
- 10:22Speaker 1: first impression, Santa tell me, Wendy. Mine is, Wait, do
- 10:28Speaker 1: I need to watch wood Calls of the Heart. I can't.
- 10:33Speaker 1: I can't. I'm just pretending like you didn't say that.
- 10:36Speaker 1: I'm not suggesting it. Mine is. Ryan Landells deserves a
- 10:40Speaker 1: prize forgetting the line. We should get a nickpick into
- 10:42Speaker 1: the movie. Oh my god, Oh my god. So wait
- 10:47Speaker 1: a second. I have watched this movie. I had to
- 10:50Speaker 1: watch it like three times. I fell asleep the first
- 10:52Speaker 1: time last night, I fell asleep again, and then I
- 10:54Speaker 1: watched the rest of it this morning and heard that line.
- 10:57Speaker 1: And I didn't know exactly what was said because I
- 10:59Speaker 1: was on my phone while I was in the shower.
- 11:02Speaker 1: And that is hilarious, so funny. It's when like they
- 11:06Speaker 1: all meet each other, right, Yes, it's from nick Cy.
- 11:09Speaker 1: We should get a Nick pick it's I laughed out loud.
- 11:13Speaker 1: That's freaking hilarious. Let's talk likes. Can I start by
- 11:20Speaker 1: telling you something. Yes. When we dropped our countdown to
- 11:24Speaker 1: Christmas preview episode, we received a message from correspondent Mike
- 11:28Speaker 1: who said, I'm making a prediction right now. In the
- 11:31Speaker 1: one where we all said that someone gets prophecied to
- 11:33Speaker 1: fall in love with a guy named Nick, you mentioned
- 11:35Speaker 1: it's also said that she gets closer to a coworker,
- 11:37Speaker 1: whereupon Wendy said, is his name Nick? I'm saying right
- 11:41Speaker 1: now that Nick will turn out to be that guy's
- 11:43Speaker 1: real first name, but he only goes by his middle name.
- 11:45Speaker 1: That's what we'll know I'm by, and that's what'll make
- 11:47Speaker 1: that prediction come true when at the end of the
- 11:50Speaker 1: movie we find out his name is Nick after all,
- 11:52Speaker 1: write it down and we'll see if I'm right. Then,
- 11:54Speaker 1: on Saturday, November ninth, as this movie is airing, we
- 11:56Speaker 1: get another message from Mike that simply says, Boom. I
- 12:02Speaker 1: haven't even seen the movie at this point, but I
- 12:05Speaker 1: knew exactly what he was talking about, and I love
- 12:07Speaker 1: a full circle moment. That's amazing, amazing. I don't recall
- 12:13Speaker 1: saying that line in our preview movie seven hundred episodes ago.
- 12:19Speaker 1: I'm shocked that you don't remember every single thing you said. Yeah,
- 12:21Speaker 1: and we had to talk about forty movies and that one.
- 12:24Speaker 1: Oh it was a two part or two Yeah, I recall.
- 12:27Speaker 1: I don't recall saying that anyway, Thanks, Mike, No, we
- 12:31Speaker 1: can talk like thanks for making us laugh. Aaron Craco
- 12:34Speaker 1: And did I say her name right? M I really
- 12:41Speaker 1: enjoyed her. I kind of get the feeling that a
- 12:44Speaker 1: lot of people don't enjoy her as an actor on
- 12:47Speaker 1: homework really well, so I wrote some feedback that she
- 12:52Speaker 1: has like RBF, so do I. I actually don't get
- 12:57Speaker 1: that vibe from her at all either, at all. I
- 13:00Speaker 1: really liked her. Of course, we don't watch wind Calls
- 13:02Speaker 1: of the Heart, so she's in very little outside of
- 13:06Speaker 1: wind Calls to the Heart. She was, of course in
- 13:08Speaker 1: Blind Date Book Club, Blind Date Book Club, that's what
- 13:11Speaker 1: it was called a movie. We both really enjoyed it.
- 13:14Speaker 1: And was it her in that Livie with Brendon Penny.
- 13:17Speaker 1: Brendan Penny was not in that movie. Robert Buckley, not Junior.
- 13:20Speaker 1: You do not know what I'm talking about. That's not
- 13:23Speaker 1: what I said. I said, was it her in that
- 13:25Speaker 1: movie with Brendan Penny? Oh? I thought you were asking
- 13:28Speaker 1: me because I just mentioned Blind Date book Club. I know
- 13:31Speaker 1: Robert Buckley, not juniors in Blind Date book Club. I'm
- 13:35Speaker 1: talking about the ball movie. Yeah, is that her? It's her? She? Look?
- 13:40Speaker 1: That was not this year, The Wedding car No. Twenty
- 13:42Speaker 1: twenty three, but she was delightful. She hasn't been in
- 13:45Speaker 1: a Christmas movie that you and I have reviewed. She
- 13:49Speaker 1: was in It was Always You, a movie that we
- 13:51Speaker 1: do need to revisit. We said recently we would revisit
- 13:54Speaker 1: that one since I dogged on it. But uh, she
- 13:59Speaker 1: hasn't been and a ton of movies. I mean she
- 14:03Speaker 1: was in one in twenty twenty four, one in twenty
- 14:05Speaker 1: twenty three, one in twenty twenty one, ooh in twenty nineteen. Wow. No,
- 14:11Speaker 1: she has been in eleven. However, many series of one
- 14:14Speaker 1: calls the Heart, so she's been acting on the network.
- 14:17Speaker 1: Every time I see her, I find her more and
- 14:19Speaker 1: more delightful. I thought The Wedding Cottage was such a
- 14:22Speaker 1: cute movie. I thought Blind Day book Club was charming
- 14:25Speaker 1: as hell. And this movie, there's a reason why. On
- 14:27Speaker 1: that movie poster, she's right up front and the four
- 14:30Speaker 1: dudes are lined up behind her. She's the absolute star.
- 14:34Speaker 1: I'm making a face right now because I'm going to
- 14:37Speaker 1: talk about the movie poster in my wishes, I have
- 14:40Speaker 1: not seen that particular movie poster. Oh I'm looking at
- 14:44Speaker 1: it right now. Okay, we're gonna get there. Okay, I
- 14:48Speaker 1: agree with you. I think she's damned delightful. I loved
- 14:51Speaker 1: her comedic timing. She has some great, really funny lines.
- 14:55Speaker 1: She delivered them really well. She's a pro. If anybody
- 14:59Speaker 1: wants to their pearls, please fast forward sixty seconds. She
- 15:02Speaker 1: was given like real horny vibes in this movie because
- 15:07Speaker 1: of all her dates. No, not because of her dates.
- 15:10Speaker 1: There's a lot of lines that are She's just given
- 15:13Speaker 1: me like she was looking for some love, okay in
- 15:16Speaker 1: a good way, like and now all the wrong places.
- 15:18Speaker 1: There's a line like my sister absolutely loves what you
- 15:20Speaker 1: can do with your hands. Oh that was hilarious. Did
- 15:23Speaker 1: you see Christopher Russell's face in that? Yes? I laughed
- 15:27Speaker 1: out loud. Yeah. Uh. I thought the script was really good.
- 15:33Speaker 1: Speaking of great lines, I thought it was well rounded.
- 15:36Speaker 1: It had it had like classic Hallmark tropes, but didn't
- 15:43Speaker 1: lean too hard into them. I don't think like it
- 15:46Speaker 1: didn't rely on the trope to be the whole movie. Yeah.
- 15:52Speaker 1: I love the physical comedy, the way I cackled, cackled
- 15:58Speaker 1: when she and Benjamin Errs are on that date and
- 16:01Speaker 1: the cork hits him in the face. I laughed so hard.
- 16:06Speaker 1: I'm the one who laughs during like when anybody falls down,
- 16:09Speaker 1: including myself, or America's Funny's Home videos. Oh my god,
- 16:15Speaker 1: I left my ass off. I love that kind of stuff,
- 16:17Speaker 1: and I thought they did so great. Or when she
- 16:20Speaker 1: hit that guy in the back of the head with
- 16:22Speaker 1: the snowball and gave him a cushion, I died. No,
- 16:26Speaker 1: really funny. The physical comedy is really great. I want
- 16:31Speaker 1: to call out a couple more actors in this movie.
- 16:33Speaker 1: First of all, I liked all three Nicks, and I
- 16:36Speaker 1: super love that we've got Olivia dating three dudes at once.
- 16:39Speaker 1: So fun. But I've really loved Benjamin Ayers. I know
- 16:43Speaker 1: you do. I'm sad that he's on the cruise and
- 16:46Speaker 1: we're not. Okay, let me tell you the rest of
- 16:48Speaker 1: my note. First of all, longtime girls on Hallmark fans
- 16:50Speaker 1: will not be surprised by this because I am a
- 16:53Speaker 1: I wrote, I am an heir's hid. I just coined
- 16:58Speaker 1: that term. I know. Oh he's like mister Romance University.
- 17:02Speaker 1: What do his fans Sandy is going to shoot English
- 17:08Speaker 1: breakfast tea out of her? I just got Air's head.
- 17:15Speaker 1: That hilarious. Yes, oh my god, thank you. I was
- 17:20Speaker 1: really proud of it. So a petition for that being
- 17:24Speaker 1: what the Airs fans call themselves. But I did write
- 17:28Speaker 1: that I am jealous of the Hallmark sale tours who
- 17:30Speaker 1: will get him on their ship, particularly because Benjamin Airs
- 17:34Speaker 1: has been all up in the Facebook groups trying to
- 17:36Speaker 1: figure out how he can really make this special for
- 17:39Speaker 1: the fans and like soliciting feedback and trying to figure
- 17:43Speaker 1: out like what's going on. I really appreciate that. So
- 17:48Speaker 1: I thought he was great. There's a moment where he
- 17:51Speaker 1: like shushes her with like her his finger right up
- 17:53Speaker 1: on her list. I yes, he's so good. He's so fun,
- 17:57Speaker 1: and I feel like Hallmark has let him be more
- 17:59Speaker 1: fun lately, like he doesn't have like his hair a
- 18:04Speaker 1: little wild air and it fits his personality. Uh more.
- 18:10Speaker 1: Actor shout outs, go ahead, Daniel listening, where have you
- 18:15Speaker 1: been hot. Damn. I mean, wowby's howie alert? I think
- 18:19Speaker 1: I texted Megan I was like, hello, Daniel listening? Yeah?
- 18:22Speaker 1: I mean, why is he so freaking hot and not
- 18:25Speaker 1: in more charming too? Like I guess some wishes about
- 18:30Speaker 1: some of the romantic interactions in this movie, but like
- 18:36Speaker 1: stop relegating the man to when calls the heart Like
- 18:39Speaker 1: he's been in a few other things. He's been in
- 18:41Speaker 1: holiday movies for other networks, but please please bring him
- 18:45Speaker 1: back and recenter him. He was so good. So I'm curious.
- 18:50Speaker 1: Do the Hearties like him? I don't. I don't know
- 18:55Speaker 1: what this backstory is here. Well, ever, all the hardies
- 18:58Speaker 1: were excited to see the re union, is my understanding? Okay. Well,
- 19:02Speaker 1: and there was a lot of conversation about like the
- 19:04Speaker 1: two actors were not told ahead of time. That's weird.
- 19:09Speaker 1: I've saw that in some Facebook group, Like they showed
- 19:11Speaker 1: up to set and they're like, oh, hey, it's you.
- 19:13Speaker 1: I don't know how. I think it was like a
- 19:16Speaker 1: fun surprise. I don't know how late the surprise was
- 19:19Speaker 1: late on them. But could you imagine if you're if
- 19:22Speaker 1: you're the lead actor or actress in this movie and
- 19:25Speaker 1: they're being vague with you about who your co star is.
- 19:28Speaker 1: I'd be like, someone tell me what the f is happening? Yeah,
- 19:31Speaker 1: I'm not sure it was quite that devious, got it? Yeah,
- 19:34Speaker 1: So Daniel the same Hulu served me up a movie
- 19:38Speaker 1: this morning called Catering Christmas from twenty twenty two that
- 19:42Speaker 1: he is the star of. I was like, do I
- 19:45Speaker 1: need Do I need to No, I don't. I don't
- 19:47Speaker 1: need to watch that, But it was just a nice coincidence.
- 19:51Speaker 1: Any other likes. Yeah, I thought sister Jess Brown was
- 19:57Speaker 1: great too for a Hallmark News be that she was
- 20:01Speaker 1: a great co star in this. Some things which might
- 20:05Speaker 1: surprise you. I kind of liked the you know, mysterious letter,
- 20:10Speaker 1: the magical letter. Yeah, I completely skipped over that. Yes,
- 20:15Speaker 1: I think sometimes maybe I come off as wanting movies
- 20:20Speaker 1: that are like realistic, but there was something kind of
- 20:24Speaker 1: like sweet and magical about that part of the storyline
- 20:30Speaker 1: that I enjoyed. Yeah, in all capa I wrote, give
- 20:33Speaker 1: me all of the Magic. I kind of liked all
- 20:36Speaker 1: of that. What else I liked is I like a
- 20:39Speaker 1: home makeover show, and so I like that this was
- 20:43Speaker 1: infused into our movie, though they did not show a
- 20:47Speaker 1: ton of makeover. I don't think that house was in
- 20:50Speaker 1: that disrepair as they were trying to make it out
- 20:53Speaker 1: to be. But I did laugh a good part when
- 20:57Speaker 1: she was banging the call like he's like, we're on
- 21:02Speaker 1: a budget, so you got to take him down, diy yourself,
- 21:04Speaker 1: and then the dry walls like fallen, and I said,
- 21:07Speaker 1: I thought that was really funny. But I love a homemakeover,
- 21:10Speaker 1: so show show it to me. We know when we
- 21:12Speaker 1: meet the Knicks, like we're going to start getting the
- 21:14Speaker 1: reveal about why they're not the right guys. But I
- 21:18Speaker 1: thought that was handled so well, like when she first
- 21:21Speaker 1: meets all three of them, they're all wonderful, they're all wonderful,
- 21:24Speaker 1: and then they're never bad guys, Like none of them
- 21:26Speaker 1: turn out to be. They're just not her guy and
- 21:28Speaker 1: we can see why, but kind of the slow reveal
- 21:33Speaker 1: as to what it is about them doesn't work for her.
- 21:36Speaker 1: I really liked that. And just a couple other little things.
- 21:40Speaker 1: Nick Cy is giving Buddy the elf energy and the
- 21:44Speaker 1: line about El's doing CrossFit made me oh that out loud.
- 21:47Speaker 1: I was wondering. I was like, why is it nick A,
- 21:51Speaker 1: B and C? And then I was like, oh, I
- 21:52Speaker 1: get it, A, B and C. All right, check it
- 21:54Speaker 1: off the list. Y. Yeah, I liked it. I liked it.
- 21:56Speaker 1: I like it. I liked it. All right, let's let's
- 21:58Speaker 1: move on to wishes if you're ready. Okay, Well, make
- 22:01Speaker 1: it make sense. All of their stuff is still in
- 22:04Speaker 1: the house that they have not owned in years and years,
- 22:07Speaker 1: and they comment like, my parents looked everywhere for it.
- 22:10Speaker 1: Did they look in the attic that they apparently forgot
- 22:11Speaker 1: to completely pack up? Yes, and the no owners of
- 22:15Speaker 1: the home just left all of your stuff stored in
- 22:18Speaker 1: the completely pholatic. Yeah you know, I moved into this
- 22:21Speaker 1: house in March and the former owner left a bunch
- 22:24Speaker 1: of stuff which I promptly threw away. Yeah, goodbye. Yeah,
- 22:28Speaker 1: you'll have to hear it. It's trash. Yeah. Much like
- 22:31Speaker 1: Trivia at Saint Nick's, we get a movie with a
- 22:34Speaker 1: female character who is a little bit meaner than she
- 22:36Speaker 1: needs to be. Who what are you talking about, Olivia? Yes,
- 22:43Speaker 1: get out. You just admitted that you watched this movie
- 22:47Speaker 1: with one eye all three times. She was not mean.
- 22:51Speaker 1: I can't remember her character name. In Trivia, Celess was
- 22:56Speaker 1: a downright biatch. This chick, Olivia was not she just
- 23:02Speaker 1: was focused on her job at hand. Yes, I agree,
- 23:07Speaker 1: but she she steamrolls all over him in multiple situations.
- 23:12Speaker 1: I disagree. Okay, I liked her. I'm just saying I
- 23:18Speaker 1: don't think you watched closely about she was more likable
- 23:21Speaker 1: than Celeste. I think Aaron Craco is super likable, which
- 23:25Speaker 1: makes a lot of it forgivable. But like when she
- 23:27Speaker 1: hops into that uber who doesn't confirm they're on the
- 23:30Speaker 1: right car, and you just start yapping about your new
- 23:33Speaker 1: coworker and how much Yeah, because I mean that could
- 23:36Speaker 1: be like a full you know, you just walk out
- 23:39Speaker 1: to a car at the curb, human trafficking situation, I
- 23:42Speaker 1: mean going to you gotta double check the light. You're like,
- 23:45Speaker 1: wait and make sure for Olivia? Yep, what are your wishes? Okay?
- 23:51Speaker 1: First of all, a life premiere on Christmas Eve. I know,
- 23:56Speaker 1: stop it right now. Nobody is watching a homemakeover show
- 24:00Speaker 1: the live premiere on Christmas Eve lives. That's the best part,
- 24:04Speaker 1: I know. My second thing is I really enjoyed this,
- 24:08Speaker 1: but I didn't quite understand it. But the the advent
- 24:11Speaker 1: calendar transitions between like scenes, U huh did you notice that? Yeah?
- 24:16Speaker 1: What does that have to do with the movie. Well,
- 24:19Speaker 1: in the movie Christmas Vacation, it's do they do the
- 24:22Speaker 1: same thing. It's just marking time. No. I enjoyed it,
- 24:25Speaker 1: and I don't think there's any actual relevance to the
- 24:28Speaker 1: Advent Calendar itself, as some of the little pictures showed
- 24:32Speaker 1: like what they were doing in the movie, but there
- 24:37Speaker 1: was no like setup of like, oh, we found our
- 24:41Speaker 1: Advent calendar in our old family home or anything like that, right,
- 24:44Speaker 1: I didn't know. I don't think it's anything like that.
- 24:46Speaker 1: I think it's just a clever way to show the
- 24:48Speaker 1: passage of time. Okay, My last wish goes back to
- 24:51Speaker 1: the movie poster. Okay, the movie poster I saw shows
- 24:58Speaker 1: our leads a Li and Chris. I didn't see the
- 25:04Speaker 1: other three dudes on the poster at all, uh huh,
- 25:08Speaker 1: and so I kind of thought, well, that's a little
- 25:10Speaker 1: bit of a spoiler. We know who she ends up with.
- 25:14Speaker 1: And my wish was I wish they had all of
- 25:17Speaker 1: the guys on the poster. Poster that I am looking at,
- 25:19Speaker 1: which is a poster on IMDb, shows Olivia standing in
- 25:23Speaker 1: front of an envelope and coming out of the back
- 25:25Speaker 1: of an envelope is a paper that shows the four dudes,
- 25:28Speaker 1: all three Nicks and Nick. Perhaps, I don't know, maybe
- 25:32Speaker 1: they were waiting to reveal those three additional co stars
- 25:35Speaker 1: because they didn't report the other three dudes the stars
- 25:39Speaker 1: until much closer, So maybe they were trying to keep
- 25:44Speaker 1: that info. I like this poster with all four guys. Yeah.
- 25:48Speaker 1: The poster I saw is Daniel Lessin and Aaron craik
- 25:51Speaker 1: out and their face to face yeah, which is like
- 25:53Speaker 1: a dead spoiler of here's her love interest. Sure. I
- 25:57Speaker 1: really did enjoy that the three other men in this
- 26:02Speaker 1: movie were not just and I don't mean to say
- 26:06Speaker 1: just but randos. They were actual, like big game actors
- 26:10Speaker 1: on the network. I think that's really cool. Me too,
- 26:13Speaker 1: Me too, It's all I have. I have one. Did
- 26:16Speaker 1: you see that? Go ahead? Why are there leaves in
- 26:19Speaker 1: the house? Leaves? They open? The door of the house
- 26:22Speaker 1: is full of leaves, as if it's been abandoned, but
- 26:25Speaker 1: the rest of the state of the house does not
- 26:27Speaker 1: suggest it is in very good condition. The walls are
- 26:29Speaker 1: painted nicely, all the woodwork is very nice. They don't
- 26:33Speaker 1: need to do any major renovations to this home. You
- 26:36Speaker 1: and I have watched many episodes of Flip or Flop
- 26:39Speaker 1: and have seen like some terrible property dated No, not
- 26:43Speaker 1: at all. It's super nice. But there are leaves, like
- 26:46Speaker 1: all down the hallway. You notice the leaves. Oh, you
- 26:49Speaker 1: gotta go back and watch. No, but funny. I did
- 26:52Speaker 1: notice the snow at the end, which was falling on them.
- 26:56Speaker 1: I couldn't tell is this digital? Is this real? What's here?
- 27:01Speaker 1: Is it a mix of? Like I was real snow,
- 27:04Speaker 1: but it looked like digital. But then there was some
- 27:07Speaker 1: falling on their hair, so I don't The only snow
- 27:09Speaker 1: I saw falling on their hair that I noticed and
- 27:12Speaker 1: paid attention to you was when they were in the sleigh. Oh,
- 27:15Speaker 1: and that's inside and that's obviously a snow machine. It's
- 27:18Speaker 1: just like when at the train station. Oh yeah, I
- 27:21Speaker 1: don't remember something. What did you rate? Santa? Tell me?
- 27:24Speaker 1: I gave it four stars? Me too? That was great.
