- 0:00Speaker 1: On News Radio 570, WKBN.
- 0:02Speaker 2: All right, testing 1212.
- 0:07Speaker 1: Is the transmitter on? I think it might. Good afternoon,
- 0:11Speaker 1: 305 in the afternoon, News Radio 570, WKBN. And your
- 0:15Speaker 1: fearless leader, Ron Verb, underway here from the kingdom of
- 0:18Speaker 1: Mahoning this afternoon. It is just a... This is my
- 0:22Speaker 1: kind of day. I mean, it's overcast and windy and
- 0:25Speaker 1: 77 degrees. And I just think enjoyable weather, temperature-wise. Anyway,
- 0:31Speaker 1: good afternoon. Glad you tuned in. Glad you're with us
- 0:33Speaker 1: here today. And let's get underway and see what awaits us.
- 0:36Speaker 1: You're on air. Line one. I'll put him back on hold.
- 0:45Speaker 1: You're on air.
- 0:47Speaker 3: Ron, good afternoon, sir.
- 0:47Speaker 4: How are you?
- 0:48Speaker 1: I am well, Richard. Thank you for calling. What seems
- 0:51Speaker 1: to be on your mind today?
- 0:53Speaker 3: Well, the last two days, I have received two different bills,
- 0:59Speaker 3: one from Mercy Health, one from Southwoods, and was overcharged
- 1:04Speaker 3: on both of them. And I've been talking to people.
- 1:07Speaker 3: A guy I work with, same thing. He got a
- 1:10Speaker 3: bill from Mercy from some stuff he had done, overcharged.
- 1:13Speaker 3: Because when you start looking at what they're billing you,
- 1:15Speaker 3: and then you get the remittance that the insurance company
- 1:18Speaker 3: sends you, And they don't match up. Like this one,
- 1:21Speaker 3: I think my wife had a bone density scan, which
- 1:24Speaker 3: is a preventative thing. So most of the health insurers
- 1:27Speaker 3: now pay it for free. I get a bill from
- 1:29Speaker 3: Southwoods for $ 500.
- 1:30Speaker 1: For a bone density scan?
- 1:33Speaker 3: Yeah, for a bone, it was $ 800. The insurance paid
- 1:36Speaker 3: like $ 250. And I get a bill for the balance,
- 1:39Speaker 3: which is like $ 500. So I go into the computer,
- 1:42Speaker 3: log into my benefits, pull up the remittance, and it
- 1:45Speaker 3: says my cost is $ 0. And it just seems to
- 1:49Speaker 3: be happening more and more, unfortunately. And so I start
- 1:54Speaker 3: to wonder, like, why is this happening? And it dawned
- 1:58Speaker 3: on me that it's kind of like you said yesterday,
- 2:01Speaker 3: the baby boomers, as they retire and die off, there's
- 2:03Speaker 3: going to be homes available, right?
- 2:06Speaker 5: Yes.
- 2:06Speaker 3: Here's the flip side to that. As they're retiring and entering,
- 2:11Speaker 3: you know, leaving us, The number of qualified people, say
- 2:16Speaker 3: what you want about the baby boomers, most of them
- 2:18Speaker 3: knew their jobs. Most of them did a pretty good
- 2:20Speaker 3: job and were very good at what they did. You know,
- 2:23Speaker 3: they had experience. As they're retiring, as, you know, my
- 2:28Speaker 3: generation is starting to come up and a lot of
- 2:30Speaker 3: us are starting to retire, what's coming up to replace
- 2:33Speaker 3: us just lacks the same level of skills. And you're
- 2:38Speaker 3: seeing this across industries. If you talk to people, I
- 2:41Speaker 3: went to the dentist today, we were talking about it.
- 2:43Speaker 3: about how there's just, number one, there's just not as
- 2:46Speaker 3: many people being produced. I think he told me when
- 2:49Speaker 3: he graduated in his mid-60s, probably early 60s, there were
- 2:54Speaker 3: about 270 kids, I think he said, in his dental class.
- 2:57Speaker 3: Now they're down in Ohio State to like 110, 120.
- 2:59Speaker 3: Same thing with Case. And you're just not getting the
- 3:05Speaker 3: same caliber of student going into this a lot of times.
- 3:09Speaker 3: I know for pharmacy school, basically, you want to go
- 3:11Speaker 3: out to Neomed and go to pharmacy school, just apply.
- 3:13Speaker 3: They're going to take you because they've got more seats
- 3:16Speaker 3: than they have students. And they want that revenue. And
- 3:22Speaker 3: if you start talking to people, it's getting harder and
- 3:24Speaker 3: harder to find applicants to fill these positions. It's getting
- 3:29Speaker 3: harder and harder to find employees that really care enough
- 3:35Speaker 3: to do a good job anymore. Does that make any sense?
- 3:37Speaker 1: It does, and I'm sitting here listening to it, and
- 3:39Speaker 1: I'm thinking, is it just a matter of time before AI,
- 3:42Speaker 1: in a very short period of time, will fix this
- 3:46Speaker 1: problem with competence?
- 3:49Speaker 3: It can actually make it worse, I think, because there's
- 3:53Speaker 3: a lot of things AI can do. And literally, half
- 3:55Speaker 3: an hour ago, I was talking to a guy that
- 3:57Speaker 3: I know that's a superintendent somewhere, and we were having
- 3:59Speaker 3: this conversation, and I said, like with us, when we
- 4:02Speaker 3: get prescriptions in now, it picks the right patient, it
- 4:06Speaker 3: picks the right drug, it picks the right doctor. It's
- 4:09Speaker 3: not picking our directions yet, and mostly because there's a
- 4:13Speaker 3: lot of variables, there's a lot of nuances that can
- 4:15Speaker 3: go into directions on a prescription label. And that's the
- 4:19Speaker 3: same thing with a lot of other jobs. It's not
- 4:21Speaker 3: just mine. There's a ton of jobs like that where
- 4:23Speaker 3: AI can do a lot. It can get to a
- 4:25Speaker 3: certain level, but then you get to a point where
- 4:28Speaker 3: you need a human being that knows what he's doing
- 4:30Speaker 3: and has experience and can make a judgment call to
- 4:34Speaker 3: make a decision. Does that make any sense?
- 4:36Speaker 4: Yes.
- 4:38Speaker 3: And I don't think you're ever going to see AI
- 4:40Speaker 3: take that part over because it just requires something about
- 4:44Speaker 3: being human and being able to judge. And I don't
- 4:47Speaker 3: know that AI is ever going to get to the
- 4:49Speaker 3: point where it's able to judge and make a judgment call.
- 4:52Speaker 3: Does that make any sense?
- 4:54Speaker 1: Yeah, but so you're saying in your opinion, for example,
- 4:58Speaker 1: let's just deal with this bone density thing. That should be,
- 5:01Speaker 1: it's like a colonoscopy. It should be totally and completely covered, period.
- 5:05Speaker 1: It's a preventive.
- 5:06Speaker 4: It typically is.
- 5:07Speaker 1: It's a preventive thing. And you're saying that's what she got.
- 5:11Speaker 1: And you got a bill that said you owe us
- 5:14Speaker 1: 500 bucks. And the insurance said we paid, whatever, $ 250
- 5:19Speaker 1: of the $ 800 or $ 300 of it. And that my
- 5:23Speaker 1: responsibility was zero. And how did you find out your
- 5:27Speaker 1: responsibility was zero? Because when I.
- 5:29Speaker 3: Went into the insurance website, I have Highmark, Blue Cross
- 5:33Speaker 3: Blue Shield. You can register and log in so you
- 5:36Speaker 3: can look at your claims. So I did that. I
- 5:38Speaker 3: pulled up. I went into Highmark. pulled up the claim
- 5:41Speaker 3: and looked at it and said, your responsibility, because they
- 5:44Speaker 3: list that. You get that stuff. Some people get it mailed.
- 5:47Speaker 3: Some of them will do it, email it to you
- 5:49Speaker 3: electronically now. But you get that, and it explains everything.
- 5:54Speaker 3: It says, this is what the doctor charged. The doctor,
- 5:57Speaker 3: they charged me $ 1, 000 or $ 1, 200. This is what we approved,
- 5:58Speaker 3: which was, I think, like $ 280. And this is what
- 6:00Speaker 3: you owe. you know, maybe some of it's going to
- 6:08Speaker 3: your deductible, if it wasn't a preventative service. You know,
- 6:13Speaker 3: this $ 250, 000 satisfied your deductible, so because, you know, we
- 6:17Speaker 3: didn't pay anything, so you owe the insurance $ 250, 000.
- 6:20Speaker 1: And keep in mind, this is all, of course, if
- 6:24Speaker 1: they code it properly. There's the key, too.
- 6:27Speaker 3: And that's where, once again, though, that goes back to
- 6:30Speaker 3: how competent is the person doing it, and or, here's
- 6:34Speaker 3: the other thing, okay? Southwood and Southwood, you know, the
- 6:38Speaker 3: bill I got yesterday and the one for Mercy the
- 6:40Speaker 3: day before, they get the same remittance, it's called, that
- 6:44Speaker 3: they mailed to me or that I logged in and got.
- 6:46Speaker 3: They get it, and it shows them all that. But
- 6:48Speaker 3: I don't think the people that are processing the remittance
- 6:52Speaker 3: know that, you know, look at it and say, okay,
- 6:56Speaker 3: in this instance, you know, we have to write off
- 6:59Speaker 3: that balance because we got paid what we were supposed to,
- 7:01Speaker 3: and the patient isn't due the difference. Because you're just
- 7:07Speaker 3: not getting competent people anymore. I was talking to somebody
- 7:11Speaker 3: about the county.
- 7:13Speaker 1: My question would be, how many people do you think
- 7:16Speaker 1: write a $ 500 check and send it in?
- 7:20Speaker 3: A ton. And that's why I called them. I was like,
- 7:22Speaker 3: when you get a bill, before you send in the
- 7:25Speaker 3: bill to your doctor, hospital, whatever, check it against what
- 7:30Speaker 3: your insurance is telling you you owe them.
- 7:32Speaker 1: It may be right.
- 7:34Speaker 3: It's probably more often right than wrong. But it seems
- 7:37Speaker 3: like increasingly, and this has been happening, I've noticed it
- 7:40Speaker 3: increasingly over the last several years, that there's a lot
- 7:44Speaker 3: of times it's wrong. Because the people that are processing
- 7:47Speaker 3: this stuff don't know what the heck they're doing anymore.
- 7:51Speaker 3: And that's just in that industry, but it's across a
- 7:55Speaker 3: bunch of stuff that we have to deal with in
- 7:57Speaker 3: our lives now.
- 7:59Speaker 4: There's just..
- 8:00Speaker 3: Instances where the people that are making decisions that affect you,
- 8:04Speaker 3: I'm not going to say they're not qualified to make
- 8:07Speaker 3: the decisions, but they probably either lack the experience or,
- 8:11Speaker 3: in some cases, just don't care. They're just going to,
- 8:14Speaker 3: you know, they just send it out. They just hit
- 8:15Speaker 3: a key and, yeah, accept, accept, accept.
- 8:18Speaker 1: And for all you know, it could be in a
- 8:20Speaker 1: whole other country.
- 8:23Speaker 6: Correct.
- 8:24Speaker 3: A lot of times, I can tell you right now,
- 8:25Speaker 3: when we call, if we have an insurance issue and
- 8:28Speaker 3: I call a helpdesk, Say I got an anthem claim
- 8:31Speaker 3: or something like that. Usually it'll ring and it'll say, hello.
- 8:34Speaker 7: This is Bob.
- 8:36Speaker 4: This is Bob.
- 8:37Speaker 3: May I help you? Well, his name isn't Bob. It's
- 8:39Speaker 3: probably Babette or something like that. But, you know, you're
- 8:42Speaker 3: getting these people over in India. It should almost be illegal.
- 8:47Speaker 3: We need to start getting our elected officials to actually
- 8:51Speaker 3: start caring about the American worker. Because why are we
- 8:55Speaker 3: offshoring all of these jobs? We need to bring good-paying
- 9:00Speaker 3: jobs back for Americans and force these companies to start
- 9:03Speaker 3: employing Americans again instead of all this H-1B visa crap
- 9:07Speaker 3: where they're bringing these people in from Mexico and India
- 9:09Speaker 3: and all these foreign countries, and they're displacing American workers.
- 9:12Speaker 3: I mean, it's disgusting. If you have a company that's
- 9:16Speaker 3: laying people off, before they lay off an American, they
- 9:19Speaker 3: should be forced to lay off every single foreigner that's
- 9:23Speaker 3: on a visa before they can do that, in my opinion.
- 9:25Speaker 3: You know, I go back to what Disney did, what
- 9:28Speaker 3: was it, 10 years ago in that 60 Minutes article,
- 9:30Speaker 3: where they just basically eliminated their entire computer programming staff,
- 9:35Speaker 3: which was all Americans, and in order to get their severance,
- 9:38Speaker 3: they had to actually train their Indian replacements. It's disgusting.
- 9:42Speaker 3: That should never be allowed to happen in this country.
- 9:51Speaker 3: What I don't understand is how you can have basically
- 9:54Speaker 3: full employment, or so they say, at about 4.1% unemployment.
- 9:58Speaker 3: They consider that full. employment. Yet the welfare rolls are
- 10:02Speaker 3: still full. So how is it full employment when you've
- 10:04Speaker 3: got people that are still on the public dole?
- 10:06Speaker 4: I don't get it.
- 10:09Speaker 3: I mean, I realize you've got disability and some people
- 10:11Speaker 3: are mentally, physically disabled or whatever, but that isn't the
- 10:14Speaker 3: whole 4.1%. The labor participation rate. Is the lowest I
- 10:19Speaker 3: think it's ever been since they started doing it. How
- 10:21Speaker 3: many people that are eligible to work are actually working?
- 10:25Speaker 3: It's right around 60% now, I think. So 40% of
- 10:30Speaker 3: the people are just not working in this country anymore. Now, granted,
- 10:35Speaker 3: some of them are retired, some of them, like I said, disabled,
- 10:38Speaker 3: you know, what have you. But that's not four out
- 10:41Speaker 3: of ten Americans. you know, is not unable to work.
- 10:46Speaker 3: There's a whole bunch of those people that aren't working
- 10:48Speaker 3: that are able to work and for some reason are
- 10:50Speaker 3: choosing not to. And I would stipulate that with a
- 10:54Speaker 3: lot of this public largesse, these Medicaid programs and assistance
- 11:00Speaker 3: programs and stuff like that, when you start paying the
- 11:04Speaker 3: people more to sit at home and do nothing than
- 11:06Speaker 3: you do to actually show up for work, you're going
- 11:09Speaker 3: to start to distort the workforce. And I think that you're,
- 11:11Speaker 3: I think that's part of it. I think that's a
- 11:13Speaker 3: big part.
- 11:13Speaker 8: Of it actually.
- 11:16Speaker 1: Well, all right.
- 11:19Speaker 3: So, I mean, I know we're worried about the price
- 11:22Speaker 3: of gas, but I think.
- 11:23Speaker 1: There's a lot. Well, I don't think there's anything more
- 11:28Speaker 1: important than a price of gas, but some guy just
- 11:31Speaker 1: sent me, where was it? I just saw it. It was,
- 11:35Speaker 1: it was at Sam's club. It was pretty low price.
- 11:40Speaker 1: What did I do with that? Yeah, I mean, it
- 11:44Speaker 1: wasn't bad. Anyway, it was below $ 4 a gallon. So
- 11:48Speaker 1: there you have it. It's weird. I mean, some gas
- 11:51Speaker 1: stations are way higher than others. It doesn't make any sense.
- 11:55Speaker 1: It doesn't make any sense at all.
- 11:57Speaker 3: I had to drive up to Cleveland to pick up
- 12:00Speaker 3: one of my kids at the airport Sunday, and I
- 12:02Speaker 3: filled up, I think in North Lyme, it was about $ 375, $ 385.
- 12:05Speaker 3: Up in Cleveland, it was all over $ 4. So it
- 12:11Speaker 3: just depends on where you're at a lot of times,
- 12:13Speaker 3: I think, too. I think yesterday somebody said the gas
- 12:15Speaker 3: in South Carolina was significantly cheaper, but their state gas
- 12:18Speaker 3: tax is a lot less. You know, go across the
- 12:22Speaker 3: line to Pennsylvania. They're, I think, the third highest state
- 12:24Speaker 3: gas tax in the country. That's why, what's funny, if
- 12:29Speaker 3: you go to that Sam's Club, count the number of
- 12:31Speaker 3: Pennsylvania plates there sometimes.
- 12:34Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 12:35Speaker 1: Well, you can't blame them.
- 12:37Speaker 9: No, no.
- 12:38Speaker 3: Pennsylvania's outrageous. They average, I think, at least 25 to
- 12:42Speaker 3: 50 cents a gallon more than what it is in Ohio.
- 12:45Speaker 3: I should go on GasBuddy and look that up, but
- 12:48Speaker 3: it's substantially more. It's to the point where if I've
- 12:51Speaker 3: got to travel the PA Pike or go down 79
- 12:54Speaker 3: to West Virginia or something, I make sure I'm full
- 12:56Speaker 3: before I go into Pennsylvania because the gas in Pennsylvania,
- 12:59Speaker 3: it's outrageous.
- 13:02Speaker 1: Isn't that interesting? I mean, it's just... Well, it is
- 13:05Speaker 1: a high gas tax, to say the least. All right, Richard.
- 13:09Speaker 1: Thank you, sir. Appreciate it.
- 13:11Speaker 3: Enjoy your day.
- 13:12Speaker 1: Rich, the pharmacist, you're on the air.
- 13:13Speaker 10: Hello.
- 13:13Speaker 7: Yes, how are you doing, Ron?
- 13:15Speaker 1: I'm well.
- 13:16Speaker 7: Rich, the pharmacist, should be on a school board. He
- 13:19Speaker 7: should be either a trustee, a mayor, or a county commissioner.
- 13:23Speaker 7: Are you retired now?
- 13:24Speaker 1: No, but I agree with all three.
- 13:27Speaker 7: Those are the kind of people we need, and he's
- 13:29Speaker 7: correct about what's coming up now is... not the same
- 13:34Speaker 7: as it was when we were working. And I think
- 13:37Speaker 7: that's because of our educational system has dumbed down everybody.
- 13:42Speaker 7: But I called about two quick things. The first thing
- 13:47Speaker 7: was Michael Rooley, which I think they're making a big
- 13:49Speaker 7: deal out of. And the second is Trump and the
- 13:53Speaker 7: war and Operation Epic Fury.
- 13:56Speaker 1: All right, now let's start with Michael Rooley.
- 13:58Speaker 7: Oh, Michael Rooley, that is, I just, went into researching
- 14:03Speaker 7: it to see actually what he did and if it
- 14:05Speaker 7: rose to the level of, say, a Paul Nancy Pelosi
- 14:09Speaker 7: stock trade, which it didn't. I think the amount was
- 14:12Speaker 7: like $ 22, 000 to $ 300, 000 in past stock trades, which is
- 14:21Speaker 7: a drop in the bucket. It's nothing. It's chump change.
- 14:23Speaker 7: And the companies he invested in, I think it was Pfizer, Google, Amazon, Apple, Meta,
- 14:30Speaker 7: microsoft invidia oracle and talent here and those were nothing
- 14:36Speaker 7: out of the ordinary where you would need insider information
- 14:39Speaker 7: to trade those companies it's uh... they're pretty straightforward you
- 14:43Speaker 7: could you could trade those on your own without being
- 14:45Speaker 7: a congressman i do it through options and make a
- 14:48Speaker 7: lot of money but uh... i think he must have
- 14:52Speaker 7: he must have upset somebody that they went after him uh...
- 14:56Speaker 7: being a republican but uh... That's no big deal. What
- 15:00Speaker 7: bothers me about Michael is the $ 10, 000 he took from AIPAC.
- 15:07Speaker 7: That concerned me more than his stock trading.
- 15:11Speaker 1: It says here, an Ohio congressman violated the Stock Act
- 15:16Speaker 1: with 22 late disclosures. Representative Michael really failed to properly
- 15:21Speaker 1: reveal trades in Pfizer and several tech giants. Let me
- 15:26Speaker 1: see here.
- 15:27Speaker 7: It's the ones I mentioned, which everyone has in-depth knowledge
- 15:32Speaker 7: of all those companies, and they're in everybody's portfolio. The
- 15:38Speaker 7: only one that might be raising a flag is Palantir,
- 15:42Speaker 7: because they're defense, and they have immigration contracts with the government.
- 15:48Speaker 7: But outside of that company, it was nothing really big.
- 15:54Speaker 7: It's going after someone for that... A piddly amount. It
- 15:58Speaker 7: reminded me of, I don't know if you remember, Leona
- 16:01Speaker 7: Helmsley and Martha Stewart.
- 16:03Speaker 10: Yes.
- 16:04Speaker 7: They went after Leona Helmsley for $ 1. 2 million, and she
- 16:09Speaker 7: avoided federal taxes. Okay, she was a widow. She was
- 16:14Speaker 7: at the end of her life. When she was going
- 16:16Speaker 7: to die, all of her money was going to a
- 16:19Speaker 7: charitable trust fund, in which it did go to $ 8 billion.
- 16:24Speaker 7: But the government still, for some reason, went after her.
- 16:27Speaker 7: To make an example of her, they gave her 19
- 16:31Speaker 7: months in jail at her elevated age. And they did
- 16:35Speaker 7: the same thing to Martha Stewart for $ 45, 000. I mean,
- 16:39Speaker 7: all the massive fraud that's going on, they go after
- 16:42Speaker 7: these people for peanuts. And they put Martha Stewart in
- 16:46Speaker 7: jail for five years.
- 16:47Speaker 1: Stand by for a minute. Just stand by. NewsRadio 570,
- 16:51Speaker 1: WKBN and Ron Furr, back with more. We're here tonight
- 16:54Speaker 1: until we solve the world's problems. Mike Rowe here with
- 17:00Speaker 1: a random. 70 WKBN. All right, I'm just trying to.
- 17:05Speaker 1: So you don't think this Rooley thing is a big
- 17:07Speaker 1: deal then, right?
- 17:08Speaker 7: I think it's a big nothing burger. I mean, it's peanuts.
- 17:13Speaker 7: And like I said, he's probably doing a good job.
- 17:16Speaker 7: That's why they went after him. Or he upset somebody.
- 17:19Speaker 1: It says a freshman lawmaker, Rooley, is one of the
- 17:22Speaker 1: wealthiest members of Ohio's congressional delegation, according to notice. capital
- 17:28Speaker 1: gains project, which tracks wealth of federal lawmakers. Ruling Stock
- 17:33Speaker 1: Act disclosure violation coincides with a Republican-backed effort in Congress
- 17:39Speaker 1: to ban federal lawmakers from buying individual stocks at all.
- 17:43Speaker 1: The Stop Insider Trading Act passed by the House in
- 17:47Speaker 1: July and awaits consideration of Senate, ruling voted in favor
- 17:51Speaker 1: of the bill. Dozens of federal lawmakers have failed to
- 17:54Speaker 1: comply with the existing Stock Act, which Congress passed in 2012,
- 17:59Speaker 1: governing its own members' behavior. Let's see.
- 18:03Speaker 7: That's called the Stop Trading on Congressional Knowledge Act that
- 18:10Speaker 7: they just passed, and I guess they're just trying it
- 18:13Speaker 7: out on him, but it's going on forever.
- 18:16Speaker 1: I mean, I'm trying to get a read. So does
- 18:18Speaker 1: this mean he was doing this by himself on his own,
- 18:21Speaker 1: doing these trades?
- 18:22Speaker 7: Well, that's what he was accused of. He made 22
- 18:25Speaker 7: personal trades on those companies that I mentioned.
- 18:28Speaker 1: But did he do it, or did he have a broker?
- 18:31Speaker 1: Does he have somebody managing his money that's doing it?
- 18:34Speaker 7: I don't know that. That's up to him to tell
- 18:36Speaker 7: you that. I don't know if it's his personal account,
- 18:39Speaker 7: but it was only 22 trades, which is really nothing.
- 18:43Speaker 7: I mean, I do that in... three days or four days,
- 18:46Speaker 7: and it was on those stocks that I mentioned. But
- 18:52Speaker 7: he was late on his paperwork. That was the only thing.
- 18:55Speaker 7: It was the technicality. You have to file within so
- 18:58Speaker 7: many days of selling the stock or buying the stock,
- 19:03Speaker 7: and he was past that expiration date. So technically, that's
- 19:08Speaker 7: why they went after him. But I don't think it's nothing, really.
- 19:14Speaker 1: All right, well.
- 19:15Speaker 7: My biggest gripe with Rui is he doesn't come on
- 19:18Speaker 7: the show anymore. He used to come on every Friday and,
- 19:21Speaker 7: you know, talk to all the callers and take questions.
- 19:24Speaker 1: He knows the number. He knows the number.
- 19:26Speaker 7: Other than that, I think, you know, he's probably a
- 19:29Speaker 7: pretty good congressman. And he was rich before he went
- 19:33Speaker 7: into Congress. So it's not like he went in poor
- 19:35Speaker 7: and came out rich. I don't know.
- 19:39Speaker 1: I don't think I'd describe him as rich. I mean,
- 19:41Speaker 1: he worked every day. I mean, I'm sure he's better
- 19:42Speaker 1: than a lot, but it wasn't like he was sitting
- 19:45Speaker 1: on a beach.
- 19:46Speaker 7: Yeah. Well, I mean, he's the owner of the Raleigh
- 19:49Speaker 7: Grocery Shop.
- 19:50Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 19:52Speaker 7: Along with his family members. But that's, you know, no
- 19:56Speaker 7: big deal. And the other reason I called real quick is, boy,
- 20:01Speaker 7: you had a lot of bloodthirsty callers on yesterday that
- 20:04Speaker 7: want to nuke Iran and let's finish it, let's kill
- 20:08Speaker 7: them all. Men, women, children, everyone. I go, I can't believe.
- 20:13Speaker 1: Hang on one second. It says the account type, the
- 20:16Speaker 1: transactions were processed through a Merrill Lynch managed account. So
- 20:19Speaker 1: he wasn't even doing it. Somebody else is making those
- 20:22Speaker 1: decisions and managing his money. As most people, I think
- 20:26Speaker 1: a lot of people have, whether that's Rockport or Merrill
- 20:30Speaker 1: Lynch or any of those companies.
- 20:32Speaker 3: Sure.
- 20:32Speaker 6: A broker.
- 20:34Speaker 1: In other words, he's not sitting there doing it. They're
- 20:35Speaker 1: doing it.
- 20:36Speaker 4: Yes.
- 20:36Speaker 10: Yes.
- 20:38Speaker 7: And I think it's all overblown. But getting back to
- 20:45Speaker 7: Operation Epic Fury.
- 20:46Speaker 3: Yes.
- 20:47Speaker 7: After hearing all of your bloodthirsty callers yesterday, one after another, boy,
- 20:51Speaker 7: I couldn't get over it. I said, these are all Christians,
- 20:54Speaker 7: and they want everybody nuked and killed. And I said,
- 20:59Speaker 7: let me go back and research how in the heck
- 21:01Speaker 7: did Trump get into this war and So I used AI.
- 21:05Speaker 7: I said, you know, why did we go to war?
- 21:07Speaker 7: What was the main reason we went? The official U.S.
- 21:11Speaker 3: Reason.
- 21:13Speaker 7: And Rubio came out, and this is back in March 2026,
- 21:20Speaker 7: and claimed that we launched the preemptive strike because Israel
- 21:24Speaker 7: was going to attack. They let us know. They let
- 21:27Speaker 7: Trump know they were going to attack Iran and Lebanon,
- 21:31Speaker 7: and they were having a... their strategic war plans. So
- 21:37Speaker 7: Trump was drawn in. He said, if we didn't go in,
- 21:41Speaker 7: we would have been drawn in because we're allies with
- 21:45Speaker 7: Israel and they would have hit our bases. So that
- 21:47Speaker 7: was the reason for a couple of weeks. And then
- 21:52Speaker 7: it went from that to the weapons of mass destruction
- 21:56Speaker 7: and the nukes and everything else. And it's just, you know,
- 22:00Speaker 7: I wouldn't call it Epic Fury anymore. I would call
- 22:04Speaker 7: it Operation Snafu or Operation Tarfu.
- 22:09Speaker 1: A mess. I would call it a mess.
- 22:12Speaker 7: Yes, that's what it is. Situation normal, all fouled up.
- 22:17Speaker 7: And the other one that's not as polite as Tarfu.
- 22:20Speaker 7: Things are really blanked up. Now we're at a point
- 22:25Speaker 7: where we probably can't get out. I don't see how
- 22:28Speaker 7: this is going to end. And then after hearing all
- 22:31Speaker 7: the callers nuke them, I'm thinking, you know, that's probably
- 22:34Speaker 7: what it's going to come to, is we're going to
- 22:37Speaker 7: have to nuke them.
- 22:41Speaker 1: Well, I certainly hope that isn't the case. I want
- 22:43Speaker 1: to finish my thoughts with him and get to more
- 22:45Speaker 1: of your calls. Ron Ferb from the Kingdom of Mahoning,
- 22:47Speaker 1: NewsRadio 570. NewsRadio 570 WKVN.
- 22:54Speaker 11: Sixteen inmates at the North Coast Correctional Facility in Lorain
- 22:58Speaker 11: County were taken to the hospital yesterday afternoon following a
- 23:01Speaker 11: lightning strike. Reports say that the inmates were walking from
- 23:04Speaker 11: one building to another during a thunderstorm when the lightning struck.
- 23:08Speaker 11: Nine of the prisoners were released from the hospital and
- 23:11Speaker 11: seven remain hospitalized, one in serious condition. A Northeast Ohio
- 23:16Speaker 11: wrestling coach is accused of domestic violence.
- 23:19Speaker 12: Lakewood High School boys head wrestling coach Kevin Clarity is
- 23:22Speaker 12: currently off the job after he was arraigned Tuesday on
- 23:25Speaker 12: multiple charges of domestic violence. Lakewood School District says Clarity
- 23:30Speaker 12: has been told he's not to have any contact with
- 23:32Speaker 12: students or attend any school functions until this case runs
- 23:35Speaker 12: its legal course. No other details about the charges have
- 23:39Speaker 12: been made public.
- 23:40Speaker 1: I'm Brian Engel. And I'm Andy Betts.
- 23:43Speaker 13: Listen on the free iHeartRadio app for all your music, news, talk,
- 23:47Speaker 13: and sports radio.
- 23:48Speaker 1: Podcasts, too. Download the app. Free never sounded so good.
- 23:52Speaker 1: A to Z dependable service.
- 23:55Speaker 2: On NewsRadio 570 WKBN.
- 23:58Speaker 1: I just cut into the chase, though. The bottom line is, obviously,
- 24:02Speaker 1: you think this whole situation is a mess. You don't
- 24:04Speaker 1: see a way out of it. Correct?
- 24:06Speaker 10: No.
- 24:07Speaker 7: No, and I'm surprised that the market is just ignoring it.
- 24:11Speaker 7: So evidently, it's like, really, it's not a big deal
- 24:14Speaker 7: to the market. And I was going to tell you,
- 24:19Speaker 7: you asked a while back, and I said I wasn't
- 24:21Speaker 7: going to talk about stocks. You were asking about SpaceX.
- 24:25Speaker 7: Do you think I should just buy it and hold
- 24:27Speaker 7: it forever? I watched an hour interview today with Ron Barron,
- 24:32Speaker 7: the old billionaire that runs the Barron Fund. And he's
- 24:36Speaker 7: got a personal relationship with Elon Musk. He's invested in
- 24:40Speaker 7: Tesla from way back in SpaceX. He is so bullish
- 24:44Speaker 7: on SpaceX. He said that's the one company you want
- 24:48Speaker 7: to own, not so much for rockets, but it's for AI, robotics, telecommunications, Starlink,
- 24:56Speaker 7: and everything else.
- 24:58Speaker 14: And..
- 24:59Speaker 7: That's a company that I bought it through put options.
- 25:03Speaker 7: It went down when it hit the low. They exercised
- 25:07Speaker 7: the options, so I was obligated to buy it. So
- 25:10Speaker 7: now I bought it like four weeks ago. And then
- 25:14Speaker 7: I turned around and wrote call options on it. So now,
- 25:18Speaker 7: because it's going up so much, I'm going to have
- 25:20Speaker 7: to sell probably half my position. But I'll buy that
- 25:24Speaker 7: back through put options again.
- 25:26Speaker 1: So you think for a long-term investment, you like it?
- 25:29Speaker 7: That is the one stock. My biggest stock is NVIDIA
- 25:32Speaker 7: and then Apple. I'd love to make SpaceX number three
- 25:38Speaker 7: or four because after hearing that, if you can watch
- 25:42Speaker 7: it on YouTube, it's Ron Barron on YouTube on SpaceX.
- 25:46Speaker 7: He gives all his reasons why he likes it. But
- 25:51Speaker 7: real quick, back to Rich and the coding errors. Yes.
- 25:54Speaker 7: I have Medical Mutual. That happens to me all the time.
- 25:58Speaker 7: I used to have Anthem, and it was a common occurrence.
- 26:02Speaker 7: And I'd always wait until I got the statement to
- 26:05Speaker 7: see what my responsibility was, because it was always a
- 26:09Speaker 7: coding error. And if it was a coding error, the
- 26:13Speaker 7: insurance company would call the physician or the hospital, and
- 26:15Speaker 7: they would work it out for you. You weren't responsible
- 26:18Speaker 7: for it. But that's just due to whoever works in
- 26:23Speaker 7: the office coding it. I don't think it's intentional fraud,
- 26:27Speaker 7: but To end my call real quick, if you want
- 26:31Speaker 7: to have an upbeat video of the day, go to
- 26:35Speaker 7: YouTube and watch a music video called Sad Little Man
- 26:40Speaker 7: on Fauci. It was put out four years ago, but
- 26:45Speaker 7: now with his phone being exposed and all of his
- 26:48Speaker 7: lies being exposed, this video is popular again in music video.
- 26:56Speaker 7: It is hilarious. You have to watch it. And real
- 26:59Speaker 7: quick with Fauci, I was listening to Dan Patrick's show today.
- 27:03Speaker 7: They had Cam Newton on talking about COVID and the
- 27:07Speaker 7: vaccination cards. And he said half of the players in
- 27:12Speaker 7: the NFL had fake vaccination cards that they would purchase
- 27:16Speaker 7: from nurses that were selling the forged documents and making
- 27:20Speaker 7: a fortune. But he said all of the players had
- 27:23Speaker 7: phony cards, the owners, the coaches. COVID was a big scam.
- 27:28Speaker 7: And the only people that I feel sorry for, like
- 27:31Speaker 7: I said yesterday or Monday, were all the pregnant ladies
- 27:35Speaker 7: that they forced a shot on and had miscarriages. And
- 27:41Speaker 7: no one's been held accountable on that.
- 27:45Speaker 1: All right. I'll watch that, Ron Barron. I appreciate it.
- 27:47Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 27:48Speaker 7: Okay, Ron Barron, and watch that little man.
- 27:50Speaker 5: Okay, Ron.
- 27:50Speaker 8: All right.
- 27:51Speaker 1: Thank you. You're on the air.
- 27:53Speaker 4: Hello, Ron. I called in yesterday about the Gulf states.
- 27:57Speaker 4: They think Iran's in control of the strait. Yes. Yeah,
- 28:01Speaker 4: and they don't even want to go back to war.
- 28:04Speaker 4: Got an article today giving an example of this. Panic
- 28:07Speaker 4: in Dubai. Thousands fleeing airport fearing Iran attack. Thousands of
- 28:13Speaker 4: people in Dubai are fleeing to the city's major airport
- 28:16Speaker 4: trying to get the first flight out to anywhere. Dubai
- 28:20Speaker 4: airport punching the chaos. Thousands of travelers accompanied by their
- 28:24Speaker 4: families rushed to leave the city amid growing fears, potential
- 28:29Speaker 4: drone attacks by Iran. Every time we bomb Iran, they
- 28:33Speaker 4: bomb one of our allies, and they're getting fed up
- 28:36Speaker 4: with it. That's United Arab Emirates. Dubai is one of
- 28:40Speaker 4: the bigger cities.
- 28:42Speaker 1: Isn't that like one of the big vacation spots for
- 28:44Speaker 1: a lot of people these days? I mean, it's a
- 28:46Speaker 1: very wealthy area, and... I mean, it's really something they
- 28:54Speaker 1: say if you're over there. So you're saying that people
- 28:57Speaker 1: are trying to get out of there?
- 29:00Speaker 4: Yeah. They fear another war is coming soon. Wow. You know, escalation,
- 29:06Speaker 4: which could be true.
- 29:09Speaker 1: Isn't that interesting?
- 29:11Speaker 4: But they think Iran's in control of the strait, most
- 29:14Speaker 4: of the Gulf states, according to the Wall Street Journal.
- 29:19Speaker 1: What do you make of this situation?
- 29:22Speaker 4: It's a mess. We should have never started it. And
- 29:26Speaker 4: I agree with the last caller, but we shouldn't be
- 29:29Speaker 4: nuking me.
- 29:30Speaker 1: I'm afraid that's coming. The first person that uses a
- 29:36Speaker 1: nuclear weapon is... I mean, I think everybody understood when
- 29:41Speaker 1: we did this to end... We were attacked and to
- 29:45Speaker 1: end World War II and to save American lives in
- 29:49Speaker 1: a situation that involved a war. We were... This idea
- 29:53Speaker 1: that Israel or the United States or somebody should be
- 29:58Speaker 1: nuking someone is just a troubling, it's just a very
- 30:04Speaker 1: troubling thought, let me put it that way, that people
- 30:08Speaker 1: would say, well, there's the answer, let's just nuke it.
- 30:13Speaker 1: And that changes everything if you want to start going
- 30:16Speaker 1: down that road. Plenty of people got nuclear weapons. They
- 30:19Speaker 1: usually have them as a deterrent not to use them.
- 30:23Speaker 4: There's a trio of events taking place today. I don't
- 30:26Speaker 4: know if you heard this. It's so rare. It's never happened.
- 30:29Speaker 4: They say it'll never happen again. The total solar eclipse
- 30:33Speaker 4: is supposed to happen around 1130. I don't know what
- 30:36Speaker 4: happened to it. Six planets aligning, Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus,
- 30:42Speaker 4: and Neptune, all in alignment. And then in the evening,
- 30:46Speaker 4: a first-side meteor shower. Those three events have never happened.
- 30:51Speaker 4: And they say it's so rare it'll probably never happen again.
- 30:54Speaker 4: It's happening today, August 12th.
- 30:57Speaker 1: I was unaware of that. You weren't aware of that? Yeah,
- 31:02Speaker 1: I didn't hear any of that. I'm more intrigued by
- 31:05Speaker 1: what you're saying about Dubai, that a lot of people
- 31:08Speaker 1: are leaving Dubai fearful that this could escalate.
- 31:11Speaker 4: Yeah, they're worried about drone missiles and a lot of drones.
- 31:17Speaker 4: They've been attacked before already. They hit our bases, you know.
- 31:22Speaker 1: You don't see an end in sight then, do you?
- 31:25Speaker 4: I don't see a good end. I think it might
- 31:28Speaker 4: be going. I hope not.
- 31:32Speaker 1: I certainly hope not. Certainly hope not, but he definitely
- 31:37Speaker 1: started a mess. He definitely started a mess because the
- 31:42Speaker 1: straight was open and we weren't having any of these
- 31:47Speaker 1: problems before he started this situation. And now, I agree
- 31:51Speaker 1: with you, it doesn't seem like there's a good end
- 31:53Speaker 1: in sight.
- 31:58Speaker 4: It might cause famines. 37% of the world's fertilizer goes
- 32:02Speaker 4: through there. It stays closed. It You might see that
- 32:06Speaker 4: book Revelation open up.
- 32:07Speaker 1: Yeah, they're already saying it's going to create issues as
- 32:10Speaker 1: far as the food supply. I believe they're talking, what,
- 32:13Speaker 1: next year or this year? I think more next year,
- 32:16Speaker 1: if you will, because of the lack of fertilizer. Perhaps
- 32:20Speaker 1: it was this year. I was reading that as well.
- 32:22Speaker 1: It's not just fertilizer. It's other chemicals, too, that are
- 32:26Speaker 1: hard to get right now, too, for a lot of..
- 32:29Speaker 4: It's called the global financial collapse. Yeah. If it don't
- 32:33Speaker 4: get solved soon.
- 32:34Speaker 10: Right.
- 32:35Speaker 1: As I said yesterday, there is an oil shortage that's
- 32:37Speaker 1: going on in countries. Oh, yeah.
- 32:41Speaker 4: Every day.
- 32:42Speaker 1: People don't understand. When you take 20, 30 million barrels
- 32:46Speaker 1: a day out of the oil situation because of the
- 32:50Speaker 1: strait situation, when you take that much out, you've got
- 32:53Speaker 1: a big problem. You have a major problem. We've been
- 32:56Speaker 1: depleting our strategic oil supply. China's been depleting theirs. Well,
- 33:00Speaker 1: so it's kind of made the prices look artificial, if
- 33:03Speaker 1: you will, because that's exactly what they are. And what
- 33:06Speaker 1: happens when you say, okay, we can't draw down anymore?
- 33:09Speaker 1: Now what do you do? And like I said yesterday,
- 33:12Speaker 1: these oil experts are saying you're getting closer and closer
- 33:14Speaker 1: to that each and every day. They've been talking about
- 33:16Speaker 1: August being a bad time for the oil situation.
- 33:20Speaker 4: They're talking about the next, you know, three or four weeks, too.
- 33:23Speaker 4: I mean, down, you know, way down the road.
- 33:25Speaker 1: Right, right.
- 33:27Speaker 4: Amen. Time's coming.
- 33:29Speaker 1: Hey, appreciate your call. Thanks for your input.
- 33:31Speaker 4: Thank you, sir.
- 33:32Speaker 1: That's an interesting guy. That guy doesn't call that often,
- 33:36Speaker 1: but when he calls, he always has some interesting stuff
- 33:38Speaker 1: that he's been reading. You're on the air. Hello? Line one? Well,
- 33:47Speaker 1: I don't understand that. You're on the air.
- 33:50Speaker 15: I said a prayer today for the Guardians.
- 33:53Speaker 10: They're way down, Ron.
- 33:55Speaker 1: Well, you better say..
- 33:56Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 33:57Speaker 1: I better... You better do the rosary.
- 34:00Speaker 4: Oh, my gosh.
- 34:02Speaker 7: How could in August..
- 34:05Speaker 1: Because it's almost like a trend. Yeah. I told you,
- 34:09Speaker 1: year after year, I mean, they seem to be doing
- 34:12Speaker 1: excellent before the All-Star break, and there's something about the
- 34:15Speaker 1: All-Star break. It seems to go all downhill. I mean,
- 34:19Speaker 1: if I had to say there's a pattern... To me,
- 34:22Speaker 1: there seems to be a pattern here.
- 34:24Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 34:26Speaker 1: And it's very troubling. I mean, I don't get how
- 34:29Speaker 1: you can have a decent first half of the season
- 34:32Speaker 1: and then it goes in this direction. I still listen.
- 34:35Speaker 1: I still find it painful. Oh, yeah. But I still
- 34:40Speaker 1: listen and I hope for the best. Let's put it
- 34:43Speaker 1: that way.
- 34:44Speaker 5: Yeah, I think I'm going to watch if it's on CBS.
- 34:48Speaker 1: I want to see.
- 34:49Speaker 3: I think the Browns are on TV.
- 34:51Speaker 10: Saturday night, I'm going to watch them and see how
- 34:53Speaker 10: they look.
- 34:54Speaker 1: Not even thinking about football yet. Not even thinking about it.
- 34:58Speaker 8: Yeah?
- 34:59Speaker 1: Yeah, even though it's not that far away. Appreciate your calling.
- 35:01Speaker 4: Well, have a good day. Bye-bye.
- 35:02Speaker 1: Thanks, Dick from Dayton. Really not that far away from
- 35:05Speaker 1: high school football. Not that far away from YSU football.
- 35:09Speaker 1: And not that far away from the Canfield Fair. How
- 35:12Speaker 1: about that? Not that far away from that. You know
- 35:16Speaker 1: what I did over the weekends? You want to know
- 35:19Speaker 1: what I did over the weekends? I went to the
- 35:27Speaker 1: Medina County fair. That's where I, that's where I grew
- 35:31Speaker 1: up as a kid and all that kind of stuff.
- 35:32Speaker 1: It's in my mother's backyard basically. And I went to
- 35:35Speaker 1: the Medina County fair and, uh, had a good time,
- 35:41Speaker 1: enjoyed it. I just, uh, I felt I needed a
- 35:44Speaker 1: fair experience. So I went to the Medina County fair and, uh,
- 35:49Speaker 1: Walked around and enjoyed it. Looking forward to the Canfield
- 35:51Speaker 1: Fair as well. NewsRadio 570 WKBN, you're on the air.
- 35:55Speaker 4: Ronald.
- 35:56Speaker 1: It's Ted the C.
- 35:59Speaker 5: I had to take a break from cutting grass to
- 36:01Speaker 5: call you.
- 36:02Speaker 1: Well, I'm glad you did. Go ahead.
- 36:07Speaker 5: Who is the biggest threat to America?
- 36:11Speaker 1: Many people say Fort Lauderdale Frank.
- 36:14Speaker 5: No, no. This is a big picture. What have I
- 36:17Speaker 5: told you?
- 36:17Speaker 16: This is a quiz.
- 36:19Speaker 5: I have one question. Is it pass or fail? If
- 36:21Speaker 5: you fail it, you've got to go back.
- 36:22Speaker 1: You say the Democrats are.
- 36:25Speaker 5: The Democrats. The Democrats. So guess what? If we keep
- 36:29Speaker 5: looking in the rearview mirror at the decisions Trump's made,
- 36:34Speaker 5: we're going to get run over by the DSA train
- 36:37Speaker 5: that's coming down the track. Now, one of the things
- 36:41Speaker 5: I've learned in life is you have to learn to
- 36:44Speaker 5: accept things. You don't have to like them, but you
- 36:47Speaker 5: can't change them, so you better accept them and move
- 36:50Speaker 5: on and keep living life, or that train coming down
- 36:54Speaker 5: the tracks is going to run you over again.
- 36:56Speaker 8: Okay?
- 36:56Speaker 5: I'm going to be honest. You may not like to
- 36:58Speaker 5: hear this. I don't mean to offend anyone, but it's
- 37:02Speaker 5: getting really old every day hearing a bunch of grown
- 37:05Speaker 5: men cry about a war that Trump started. We can't
- 37:07Speaker 5: change it.
- 37:08Speaker 15: We are at war.
- 37:09Speaker 5: We don't have to agree with it. I wish him
- 37:12Speaker 5: the best. I hope he succeeds. But guess what? Trump's
- 37:15Speaker 5: in my rearview mirror. OK, I'm looking to the next election.
- 37:20Speaker 5: And if you guys, meaning everyone listening right now, don't
- 37:24Speaker 5: start doing the same thing, then we're going to fall
- 37:27Speaker 5: victim to history.
- 37:29Speaker 1: Well, wait a minute. When you say you're looking to
- 37:32Speaker 1: the next election, do you mean the midterms?
- 37:34Speaker 4: Yes.
- 37:35Speaker 5: Midterms, local elections, biggest elections of our lifetime. Every election
- 37:39Speaker 5: is bigger than the last. You've got a governor's race.
- 37:42Speaker 5: What's that?
- 37:43Speaker 1: Okay, so when you're looking to, let's just say the midterms. Okay.
- 37:49Speaker 1: Like I say to people, listen, make no mistake, I
- 37:51Speaker 1: would never vote for Sherrod Brown. I just want to
- 37:53Speaker 1: make this perfectly clear. I would never vote for Sherrod Brown, period.
- 37:58Speaker 1: I mean, and I laugh when I see these commercials
- 38:00Speaker 1: when he says, if I get elected, I'm going to
- 38:02Speaker 1: do this. And I'd say, you were there for 30 years.
- 38:05Speaker 1: You were there forever. All of a sudden, now you're
- 38:07Speaker 1: running and you're telling me all this stuff that you're
- 38:09Speaker 1: going to do. Sherrod Brown backed every wacky-ass social agenda
- 38:14Speaker 1: thing of the Biden administration. He's a flaming far-left wacko.
- 38:19Speaker 1: And there's no way, I'll say it again, that I
- 38:22Speaker 1: want to go back to men can have babies. We
- 38:24Speaker 1: can't define a woman. We're going to teach transgenderism stuff
- 38:28Speaker 1: in school. We're going to hire based on color and sexuality,
- 38:34Speaker 1: not on competence. There's no way I can ever go
- 38:37Speaker 1: back to the Democrat social agenda. It is just... Everybody's
- 38:42Speaker 1: a racist. I cannot go back to that at all.
- 38:46Speaker 1: And I can't go back to the Democrat economics either.
- 38:50Speaker 1: So make no mistake, I will vote for it.
- 38:52Speaker 5: I'm not making a mistake with you.
- 38:54Speaker 1: A Republican, but you're right.
- 38:57Speaker 4: I see a big fear.
- 38:58Speaker 5: I have a big fear. The biggest driving factor, and
- 39:04Speaker 5: you could look at history, you could look at data,
- 39:06Speaker 5: it will all tell you the same thing. The biggest
- 39:08Speaker 5: driver of election results is motivation. The motivation to come
- 39:12Speaker 5: out and vote for your candidate.
- 39:13Speaker 10: Yes.
- 39:14Speaker 5: So we're sitting around crying every day, five days a week,
- 39:17Speaker 5: about war. And the stock market's up today. The stock
- 39:20Speaker 5: market's down today. Gas is up a quarter. Gas is
- 39:22Speaker 5: down a quarter.
- 39:23Speaker 7: Okay.
- 39:24Speaker 5: We're looking in the rearview mirror. while these folks are
- 39:27Speaker 5: mounting an army to just run us over, literally run
- 39:32Speaker 5: us over, and turn us into a communist socialist country.
- 39:35Speaker 5: You know, I hear guys, you know, Tucker Carlson. He's
- 39:38Speaker 5: another blip on the radar. Why people are falling in
- 39:41Speaker 5: love with this guy, I have no clue, because all
- 39:43Speaker 5: he's doing is cookbait, making money off of you, capitalist society.
- 39:48Speaker 5: Only 6%. I just looked at some data. His listener vote,
- 39:52Speaker 5: his listener base makes up 6% of the voting population.
- 39:56Speaker 5: So if you start going down this rabbit hole of, no,
- 39:59Speaker 5: I'm not going to be a Republican anymore. I'm going
- 40:01Speaker 5: to vote. I'm going to join this third party and
- 40:04Speaker 5: vote for this guy. Well, guess what? You go ahead
- 40:06Speaker 5: and do that because you doing that is a vote
- 40:09Speaker 5: for the Democrat. OK, people got to get their heads
- 40:12Speaker 5: out of their arses, as you would say. I'm getting
- 40:15Speaker 5: irritated hearing this stuff. If we don't start focusing on
- 40:18Speaker 5: all this stuff, we're going to be in big trouble.
- 40:20Speaker 3: Big trouble.
- 40:21Speaker 5: Governor's race, county commissioner's race, midterms, House of Representatives, Senate.
- 40:28Speaker 5: All these things are on a teeter totter and they
- 40:30Speaker 5: can either go up or down. And there's only a
- 40:33Speaker 5: few things that are going to weigh them one way
- 40:34Speaker 5: or the other. So if we keep crying about spilled milk, well,
- 40:38Speaker 5: we're in big trouble. Big, big trouble.
- 40:40Speaker 1: What did you make? Well, don't you look at some
- 40:44Speaker 1: of these wacky-ass Democrats. And I mean wacky-ass Democrats.
- 40:49Speaker 5: There's just as many wacky-ass Republicans, excuse my language.
- 40:52Speaker 1: No, I'm talking about standby, Ted the Conservative, who paused
- 40:57Speaker 1: his day.
- 40:57Speaker 5: I'm in a board today.
- 40:58Speaker 1: Who paused his day. from his grueling man-like labor today
- 41:02Speaker 1: to speak with us. Back with Ted in a minute.
- 41:07Speaker 17: Give your home an energy.
- 41:08Speaker 7: ABN.
- 41:10Speaker 1: Ron Firm, News Radio 570, Dodie Cary, N355 here in
- 41:13Speaker 1: the afternoon. So, Ted, the conservative, you take a look, though,
- 41:17Speaker 1: just into these Democrat candidates that are far left. I mean,
- 41:21Speaker 1: just let me bounce this off you. Can you even
- 41:24Speaker 1: imagine the discussion about AOC running for president?
- 41:30Speaker 5: I mean, it's going to happen.
- 41:33Speaker 1: I know, but do you see her as some great
- 41:38Speaker 1: intellect to really..
- 41:40Speaker 7: No, not at all.
- 41:41Speaker 1: Not at all.
- 41:42Speaker 5: But guess what? While you and I are crying about
- 41:44Speaker 5: the price of gas, these people are building an army
- 41:46Speaker 5: to storm the walls of the city. And, you know...
- 41:52Speaker 5: Elections are about emotions, and people aren't motivated right now
- 41:55Speaker 5: on our side.
- 41:55Speaker 1: Well, I'm going to back up on that. I think
- 41:58Speaker 1: we've got too many low-information voters anymore. The fact that— Well, yeah, I.
- 42:02Speaker 5: Don't—of course, that's why— you' re 100% right. That's why we even
- 42:06Speaker 5: have to refocus even more instead of crying about spilled milk.
- 42:10Speaker 5: Because guess what? Motivation fuels election results. And as long
- 42:15Speaker 5: as we keep crying, we're going to be discouraging our
- 42:18Speaker 5: people to come fight for it. Well, the enemy is
- 42:21Speaker 5: building this monster machine. And if people think I'm wrong,
- 42:27Speaker 5: good luck. I feel sorry for you. I've been around
- 42:30Speaker 5: this for a long time, you and I both. And,
- 42:33Speaker 5: you know, what do you always say? Wars are won, what,
- 42:37Speaker 5: fighting on empty bellies, right? And the other side's belly
- 42:40Speaker 5: is empty. And, yes, we've had Trump in office for
- 42:45Speaker 5: two years. Yes, we've had the House and the Senate.
- 42:47Speaker 5: We've not gotten things done you and I want. So
- 42:50Speaker 5: that means we have to work harder to push our
- 42:52Speaker 5: message across, not cry about it. And that means electing
- 42:56Speaker 5: the right candidates. You know, I'll start off with..
- 43:00Speaker 1: Okay, so when you see the, I don't know if
- 43:02Speaker 1: you believe the polls or not, where they say Amy
- 43:05Speaker 1: Acton's leading Vivek a little bit or it's neck and neck, what.
- 43:08Speaker 4: Are your thoughts? I believe it.
- 43:10Speaker 5: I believe it. Because my team's over here crying about
- 43:13Speaker 5: the touchdown the other team just scored and said they're
- 43:16Speaker 5: ready to get their arses back on the field to
- 43:18Speaker 5: score one for themselves. You know, we're letting our feelings
- 43:22Speaker 5: get in the way of our facts. And I believe
- 43:26Speaker 5: Amy Atkinson can win. I mean, no disrespect to anyone.
- 43:29Speaker 5: We'll use the HB-1 visa, for example. A lot of
- 43:32Speaker 5: people I've heard say, well, I'm not voting for him
- 43:34Speaker 5: because he supports the HB-1 visa. What do you think? Okay,
- 43:39Speaker 5: he supports it. I'm not saying I agree with it.
- 43:41Speaker 5: I think it should be abolished. I think it's criminal.
- 43:43Speaker 5: But guess what? That's not going to happen. So would
- 43:46Speaker 5: you rather have a guy like Vivek in there, or
- 43:47Speaker 5: would you rather have a globalist Like Amy asked, who
- 43:50Speaker 5: will not only open up the HB1 visas to the...
- 43:54Speaker 5: you know, pull the strings off them, she'll open the
- 43:56Speaker 5: floodgates up on the border again. These are the people
- 43:58Speaker 5: that let your country get destroyed four years ago, for
- 44:02Speaker 5: the last four years, who drove inflation to where it is.
- 44:05Speaker 1: Standby, Ted the Conservative on the warpath. I'll finish my
- 44:08Speaker 1: conversation with him after the break at four. Call us online. Standby, Ron,
- 44:12Speaker 1: for more to come.
- 44:12Speaker 8: Coach John Arnold Studios. This is 570 WKBN Youngstown, an

- 44:26Speaker 17: A shakeup at the White House. Elisa Brady, Fox News.
- 44:29Speaker 18: President Trump just confirming that Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt is
- 44:33Speaker 18: leaving at the end of the month to spend more
- 44:35Speaker 18: time with her family. The president calling her one of
- 44:38Speaker 18: his most trusted aides, posting that she'll now be one
- 44:41Speaker 18: of his top outside advisors and an influential voice.
- 44:44Speaker 17: Within the Republican Party heading into the midterms.
- 44:46Speaker 19: Huge news and unexpected news, obviously. Caroline just put out
- 44:51Speaker 19: an additional post saying that serving as the White House
- 44:54Speaker 19: press secretary of the last year and a half has
- 44:56Speaker 19: been the honor and adventure of a lifetime. She expresses
- 44:59Speaker 19: her gratitude to the president for the privilege of speaking
- 45:02Speaker 19: on his behalf at the podium and talks about how
- 45:05Speaker 19: challenging it has been working in one of the most
- 45:07Speaker 19: demanding and important jobs while also welcoming two young children
- 45:12Speaker 19: in recent years.
- 45:13Speaker 18: Fox's Jackie Heinrich at the White House, where Leavitt is
- 45:16Speaker 18: the youngest ever press secretary after previously working for the
- 45:19Speaker 18: Trump campaign. No word yet on who will step into
- 45:22Speaker 18: that role. Just getting word that Nick Reiner is now
- 45:25Speaker 18: indicted on murder charges in the killings of his parents,
- 45:28Speaker 18: actor director Rob Reiner and Michelle Reiner.
- 45:31Speaker 17: The indictment by an L.A.
- 45:32Speaker 18: County grand jury unsealed today also adds an allegation that
- 45:36Speaker 18: he was lying in wait before attacking them.
- 45:39Speaker 17: That could open the door.
- 45:40Speaker 18: To prosecutors seeking the death penalty, the Reiners were stabbed
- 45:43Speaker 18: to death in their home last December. Prosecutors have not
- 45:46Speaker 18: revealed any potential motives, and a court order stopped the
- 45:49Speaker 18: coroner from making the autopsy records public. Inflation cools in July,
- 45:54Speaker 18: with consumer prices rising 3.4% compared to a year ago,
- 45:56Speaker 18: slightly less.
- 45:59Speaker 17: Than in June.
- 46:00Speaker 20: Higher oil and gas prices from the Iran war appear
- 46:02Speaker 20: to be having a limited impact on broader costs in
- 46:05Speaker 20: the economy, but inflation remains higher than before the war
- 46:09Speaker 20: began in February when it was 2.4 percent.

- 47:29Speaker 2: wkbn 405.
- 47:31Speaker 1: In the afternoon it's wednesday august 12th 76 degrees ron
- 47:35Speaker 1: verb from the kingdom of mahoning and to the conservatives
- 47:39Speaker 1: just worried he's saying or republicans get you got to
- 47:42Speaker 1: get activated you got to be motivated you got to
- 47:45Speaker 1: get out and support your team otherwise these crazies with
- 47:50Speaker 1: the democrats are going to get a hold. You could
- 47:52Speaker 1: have Amy Acton.
- 47:53Speaker 4: Don't worry about your feelings.
- 47:54Speaker 5: You know, facts don't care about your feelings.
- 47:58Speaker 1: You could have Sherrod Brown as your senator and Amy
- 48:00Speaker 1: Acton as your governor. My God.
- 48:02Speaker 5: Yeah, you can have Sherrod Brown, Amy Acton.
- 48:05Speaker 4: What's that?
- 48:06Speaker 5: McNally's woman's name. You know, I'm dead serious, Ron. I'm
- 48:10Speaker 5: a little bit fired up today. You know, Amy Acton,
- 48:14Speaker 5: if you think This state of Ohio would not take
- 48:18Speaker 5: 10 steps backwards.
- 48:19Speaker 3: You're crazy.
- 48:20Speaker 5: We may not like DeWine. I'm not a big fan.
- 48:22Speaker 5: We call him a rhino. But guess what? He's not
- 48:24Speaker 5: a Democrat, is he? Even though he's a rhino, he's
- 48:28Speaker 5: not giving us exactly what Amy Acton would give us.
- 48:32Speaker 3: May not like the.
- 48:32Speaker 5: Big HB1 visa stand, but guess what? It's going to
- 48:35Speaker 5: be a hell of a lot worse with Amy Acton
- 48:37Speaker 5: at the county level. I told you there was a
- 48:39Speaker 5: meeting tonight for Christine Oliver out in the Middletown 6th
- 48:42Speaker 5: to 8th Fire Department. I'm going to be there. I
- 48:44Speaker 5: think I can help them.
- 48:45Speaker 4: When?
- 48:46Speaker 5: You've got one candidate who thinks she knows how to
- 48:50Speaker 5: best spend your money. She went crazy when the county
- 48:54Speaker 5: commissioners gave a little bit of that money back to
- 48:56Speaker 5: the taxpayers. She wants all your money, McNally, all of it.
- 49:00Speaker 5: And Christina Oliver is out here trying to save your
- 49:03Speaker 5: money for you. So, you know, all politics are local.
- 49:06Speaker 5: If you don't get involved with your school boards, your
- 49:08Speaker 5: city government, your county government, guess what? Then don't complain.
- 49:14Speaker 5: Unless you're going to put your feet in the fire,
- 49:16Speaker 5: just sit back, cry about the war, cry about the
- 49:19Speaker 5: spilled milk. you know, watch your programs at night time
- 49:23Speaker 5: and live life. But if you want to make a change,
- 49:27Speaker 5: you've got to get involved. And don't get comfortable. I'm
- 49:31Speaker 5: just scared. I'm scared of where I see us going,
- 49:33Speaker 5: to be honest with you. It's a lazy Republican Party
- 49:36Speaker 5: right now. who is not motivated for the polls, all
- 49:40Speaker 5: they're doing is crying about stupid milk, or their internet
- 49:43Speaker 5: went out today, or, you know, I'm just worried. I
- 49:47Speaker 5: think we need to shake up our base. And since
- 49:51Speaker 5: about a third of all that is, it makes it
- 49:54Speaker 5: easier for the Democrats to win. They are the enemy
- 49:57Speaker 5: of the state. And if we don't get focused quickly,
- 50:02Speaker 5: we're going to be in big trouble. Because what we're
- 50:05Speaker 5: looking at in the rearview mirror, I told you we're
- 50:06Speaker 5: not going to see that train coming down the tracks.
- 50:08Speaker 5: You're going to have a county government that wants more
- 50:11Speaker 5: of your dollars. You're going to have a state government
- 50:13Speaker 5: that's going to become a global government. Forget about the
- 50:18Speaker 5: HB1 visas. They're going to put every car before your own.
- 50:23Speaker 5: And they'll want more of the tax dollars. And it's
- 50:26Speaker 5: going to filter up to the federal government. I mean,
- 50:28Speaker 5: we don't have much going on for us right now,
- 50:30Speaker 5: but at least the Democrats aren't in office. And if
- 50:33Speaker 5: you think it's bad now, just sit back and watch
- 50:36Speaker 5: what happens when they come back in because voters are
- 50:40Speaker 5: dumb and they have a short memory. Just think back
- 50:42Speaker 5: to four years ago, what happened? 9% inflation. They said,
- 50:48Speaker 5: when they tell us it's transitory.
- 50:50Speaker 3: Don't worry about it, right?
- 50:51Speaker 5: No big deal. No big deal. Well, here we are now.
- 50:54Speaker 5: Fast forward four years, we're all bitching and screaming like
- 50:56Speaker 5: it's Donald Trump's fault. I mean, we need to wake up, people.
- 51:02Speaker 14: Wake up.
- 51:04Speaker 4: All right.
- 51:04Speaker 5: Get back to mowing the lawn.
- 51:31Speaker 1: All right.
- 51:31Speaker 7: I know.
- 51:32Speaker 4: I know.
- 51:32Speaker 5: And I've got to get you focused, too, because you're drifting, too.
- 51:35Speaker 5: You're crying over too much milk.
- 51:36Speaker 1: I've got plenty of milk.
- 51:37Speaker 4: You can afford to buy.
- 51:38Speaker 5: A lot of milk. You just keep buying that Milo's
- 51:41Speaker 5: tea and that milk and don't worry about what you spill.
- 51:43Speaker 1: See you later. It's Ted the Conservative. You're on the air.
- 51:46Speaker 3: Hello.
- 51:48Speaker 4: Hi there. Yes, sir.
- 51:50Speaker 10: I enjoy the show. Yesterday was scary as a dickens.
- 51:55Speaker 10: I understand that. That kind of wow. That kind of
- 51:59Speaker 10: mentality is no good. No damn good. But here I'm
- 52:02Speaker 10: going to ask you a question.
- 52:04Speaker 1: You mean the people that want to nuke Iran?
- 52:06Speaker 10: Yeah, it's just that makes no damn sense at all. That's,
- 52:12Speaker 10: I don't know what religion they came from. But anyhow,
- 52:17Speaker 10: let's say you and your wife decide we're going to
- 52:19Speaker 10: put in an apple tree. Then we're going to put
- 52:23Speaker 10: in a pear tree. So you go ahead and you
- 52:26Speaker 10: set it up. You paid a man partly or you
- 52:29Speaker 10: paid a man fully. And he turns around, and he
- 52:32Speaker 10: goes out and digs the holes. Five days later, where
- 52:36Speaker 10: are my trees? Oh, somebody on the other side of
- 52:40Speaker 10: town paid us twice that much not for you to
- 52:42Speaker 10: have your trees put in the ground. The analogy is,
- 52:49Speaker 10: that money was spent for them windmills for solar power.
- 52:52Speaker 10: And he walked in, put the country more in debt
- 52:55Speaker 10: by $ 20 million to stop them from... I'll give you
- 52:59Speaker 10: $ 20 million. Don't put them up. Do you understand which
- 53:06Speaker 10: way I'm going?
- 53:09Speaker 1: Yes. So you're saying, well, weren't those subsidized in part
- 53:15Speaker 1: by the federal government?
- 53:18Speaker 4: Right.
- 53:18Speaker 10: All he had to do was cut the subsidy off.
- 53:22Speaker 1: I mean, as I remember, you're going back several years.
- 53:25Speaker 1: As I remember, there was concern, he had some environmental
- 53:29Speaker 1: concerns over the windmills in the ocean and what effect
- 53:33Speaker 1: that had on, was it fish and, let me just
- 53:38Speaker 1: say wildlife, and what a gigantic waste of money it
- 53:42Speaker 1: happened to be.
- 53:44Speaker 10: Well, as far as a gigantic waste of money, how's
- 53:47Speaker 10: your electric bill doing? The more electric power we can
- 53:52Speaker 10: kick out there for the United States, the better off
- 53:55Speaker 10: we're going to be.
- 53:55Speaker 1: Well, I agree with that.
- 53:56Speaker 10: Take a look at the state of Texas. The second
- 53:59Speaker 10: highest or the first highest state, not the second because
- 54:02Speaker 10: California's first, who have solar energy and windmill energy in
- 54:08Speaker 10: their state. In their state, they're the second highest makers
- 54:14Speaker 10: of wind and solar power. Now, why aren't they quitting it? Oh,
- 54:22Speaker 10: we don't need that because Trump said we don't need it.
- 54:26Speaker 10: My other thing is, now, this is kind of picky
- 54:31Speaker 10: because I don't understand it. It makes no sense to me.
- 54:36Speaker 10: I watch that inspirational channel. It's got the westerns on
- 54:42Speaker 10: it and stuff like that. And through the course of
- 54:45Speaker 10: the evening, I keep seeing these commercials. about the Jewish
- 54:51Speaker 10: people in Ukraine are hurting, hurting bad. Well, why doesn't
- 54:59Speaker 10: the Jewish group pick them people up, take them out
- 55:07Speaker 10: of that country, and move them back to Israel where
- 55:11Speaker 10: it would be cheaper to have them instead of what
- 55:14Speaker 10: we're doing now? But what about the other people that
- 55:17Speaker 10: aren't Jewish It only talks about taking care of the
- 55:20Speaker 10: Jewish people. I got nothing against the Jews, but I
- 55:26Speaker 10: just don't understand why they have to be so segregated,
- 55:31Speaker 10: is the term. And Ted, the conservative, and them other
- 55:35Speaker 10: people that call you up, I listen to them. And
- 55:38Speaker 10: I have to ask myself, as a point of discussion,
- 55:42Speaker 10: not debate or argument, seemingly ever since Reagan... Our debt
- 55:51Speaker 10: has continuously gone up. This thing about tax breaks, people
- 55:58Speaker 10: who can afford to pay, companies who can afford to pay,
- 56:03Speaker 10: and yet we're going to give them huge tax breaks,
- 56:07Speaker 10: and it hasn't even begun to lower the prices of
- 56:11Speaker 10: the commodity in the United States. My point is, is
- 56:15Speaker 10: we're going to keep on buying it, and they know it.
- 56:18Speaker 10: So they keep raising their prices. And every year, every
- 56:22Speaker 10: year since Reagan, they have made millions, and now they're
- 56:25Speaker 10: talking billions in dollars in profit. I don't understand. I mean,
- 56:31Speaker 10: he's going to say Republicans are going to turn us
- 56:33Speaker 10: to a socialistic country? They throw the communist socialistic country.
- 56:38Speaker 10: The United States has always been a socialist country by
- 56:44Speaker 10: helping people out who are in need. And yet, I
- 56:50Speaker 10: don't understand why these people want to just blindly, as
- 56:54Speaker 10: if they have blinders on their eyes, and they can't
- 56:57Speaker 10: seem to think, well, maybe, maybe, no, no, no, no, no.
- 57:03Speaker 10: And I've met Democrats in the same way. I've never
- 57:06Speaker 10: understood that. If the person don't work, get them out
- 57:10Speaker 10: of there. And if that person don't work, get them
- 57:14Speaker 10: out of there. That's how the American people can take
- 57:18Speaker 10: back their government and start control of it. I think
- 57:23Speaker 10: I'm done now. Like I said, I don't... Fine.
- 57:31Speaker 7: I love you.
- 57:33Speaker 10: At least you're willing to stand up and say something
- 57:37Speaker 10: that you firmly believe in. But if I were to
- 57:40Speaker 10: see him face-to-face, I would ask him those questions. What
- 57:45Speaker 10: are the tax breaks really doing for the people of
- 57:47Speaker 10: the United States? All these states that have Medicaid and
- 57:51Speaker 10: Medicare going on, and now they're getting rid of that
- 57:55Speaker 10: Part 5 for getting medication for people who are on Medicare?
- 58:00Speaker 10: These people now in the rural districts that have to
- 58:03Speaker 10: go miles to see a doctor? These people that are
- 58:08Speaker 10: in an emergency and you can't get to a hospital
- 58:11Speaker 10: in time to help them because they took.
- 58:13Speaker 4: That money away.
- 58:17Speaker 10: And then this thing about voting, I don't think there's like, what,
- 58:22Speaker 10: what was it, 11 or 13 states that just, they
- 58:26Speaker 10: could tighten it up. Some of them could tighten it
- 58:28Speaker 10: up quite a bit. But the fact of the matter is,
- 58:33Speaker 10: now there's little hoops that you may have to jump
- 58:35Speaker 10: through just to vote. And granted, all I've got to
- 58:39Speaker 10: do is have this ID. Well, then the next thing,
- 58:41Speaker 10: they're going to want this ID. Then the next thing,
- 58:43Speaker 10: they're going to want that ID. Take a look at
- 58:48Speaker 10: the state of Ohio. Take a look at other states
- 58:51Speaker 10: throughout the United States, where when they get done checking
- 58:54Speaker 10: out the polls and the voting at the end of it,
- 58:58Speaker 10: it may take a couple years, and they'll come back
- 59:00Speaker 10: with hardly nothing at all that's going to make it
- 59:03Speaker 10: or break it when it was finally done. I'm done now.
- 59:12Speaker 1: Are you done? You said that two minutes ago that
- 59:14Speaker 1: you were done.
- 59:16Speaker 10: No, I was only setting 90 seconds.
- 59:19Speaker 3: Okay.
- 59:19Speaker 1: Are you done now? Are you sure you're done now?
- 59:23Speaker 10: Oh, let me think about that. No, I don't want
- 59:25Speaker 10: to think anymore. I'll get a headache and then I've
- 59:27Speaker 10: got to go have Asperger's.
- 59:28Speaker 1: All right.
- 59:28Speaker 4: All right.
- 59:29Speaker 1: Thanks. See you later. All right. He's done now. You're
- 59:33Speaker 1: on the air. Hello.
- 59:37Speaker 22: Is that me?
- 59:37Speaker 4: Yes, sir.
- 59:38Speaker 1: It's you. Speak your piece, please.
- 59:40Speaker 22: Okay. Real fast. I was in Austin town yesterday. Gas
- 59:45Speaker 22: was over $ 4 a gallon. Today, I went to Struthers.
- 59:50Speaker 22: I got gas for $ 3.
- 59:51Speaker 8: 69.
- 59:51Speaker 23: $ 3.
- 59:51Speaker 7: 69?
- 59:51Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 59:51Speaker 22: $ 369. They're always the cheapest on 616 and Lyons Boulevard.
- 1:00:04Speaker 22: I just want to tell you that.
- 1:00:05Speaker 5: That's all.
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: $ 369. Okay. All right. Let's see. Somebody sent me, gas
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: price at Sam's Club was $ 361. 9. Somebody sent me that.
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: It doesn't say which Sam's Club, if it was Boardman
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: or Niles. But my shell station is, what, 440, right
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: there in the corner.
- 1:00:27Speaker 22: Yeah, I was in Austin town yesterday.
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: I mean, I'm seeing it at 429 and 440 at
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: a number of places.
- 1:00:36Speaker 24: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:00:38Speaker 22: So I always go down there to Struthers. I live
- 1:00:41Speaker 22: pretty close anyhow. But they're always the cheapest down there.
- 1:00:44Speaker 22: They're always the cheapest. No matter where you go, they're
- 1:00:48Speaker 22: the cheapest.
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: If you say so.
- 1:00:52Speaker 5: Okay.
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: Thanks.
- 1:00:53Speaker 4: That's all.
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: All right. You're on the air.
- 1:00:56Speaker 10: Hello.
- 1:00:58Speaker 6: This is the greatest threat to the country calling?
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: Yes, yes. This is it right here. It's Fort Lauderdale, Frank,
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: the single greatest threat. Well, he asked me the question.
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: I was speculating.
- 1:01:11Speaker 6: Well, you know, I was not intending on calling today,
- 1:01:14Speaker 6: but the options guy... lectured me that I should have
- 1:01:18Speaker 6: bought call options on SpaceX.
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: I got to watch this guy, though. He said, I
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: got him up on my screen. I haven't watched it yet.
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: It runs, what, an hour, I think. An hour. Let's see.
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: Ron Barron, B-A-R-R-O-N, a long-term view with Ron Barron, SpaceX
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: and the power of conviction. So he says, I guess
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: this Ron Barron, billionaire investor Ron Barron said, And he
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: seems like he's real positive on SpaceX for the long term.
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: So I want to hear what he has to say.
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: I mean, it's just like, do you remember, well, you
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: were around Amazon. What if you bought Amazon early on? Remember,
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: Amazon wasn't making lots of money for years. They weren't
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: a profitable company. But what if you would have bought
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: Amazon or Tesla in the beginning? And there was a
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: lot of stocks. I am really good, Fort Lauderdale Frank,
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: at picking stocks in hindsight. I have this great ability
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: of doing it in hindsight. I often say, I should
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: have bought that earlier. Ten years ago. I should have
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: bought that five years ago. I'm pretty good at that.
- 1:02:27Speaker 6: Well, you are pretty good, and I can't say what
- 1:02:30Speaker 6: specific investments that I buy, own, or sell.
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: But since Tesla went.
- 1:02:36Speaker 6: From like $ 25, 000 if you invested to over $ 2. 5 million,
- 1:02:38Speaker 6: they never made a penny of profits. So I'm thinking
- 1:02:50Speaker 6: the same thing with SpaceX. They may not make any
- 1:02:54Speaker 6: profit for years and years, if ever, but you could
- 1:02:58Speaker 6: still probably make a lot of money on SpaceX. But
- 1:03:02Speaker 6: I want to say that, you know, the options guy
- 1:03:05Speaker 6: lectured me that I should have bought call options on SpaceX,
- 1:03:09Speaker 6: but I didn't because when I went to place the
- 1:03:11Speaker 6: order early in the day, it was already up 30%.
- 1:03:14Speaker 6: And then it crashed. So I told people if they
- 1:03:19Speaker 6: had listened to him, they would have lost a lot
- 1:03:23Speaker 6: of money on paper. Now, options guy said he originally
- 1:03:26Speaker 6: bought options that make a lot of money as SpaceX
- 1:03:31Speaker 6: goes down. So he changed his story once again. Well,
- 1:03:34Speaker 6: I don't know what to believe with this guy.
- 1:03:37Speaker 4: He claims..
- 1:03:38Speaker 6: He's made billions of dollars.
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: Believe me when I tell you. Believe me. He has.
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: I mean, do not question. He has done extremely well.
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: And we're not here to talk about individuals.
- 1:03:53Speaker 6: Well, did he inherit it?
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: No.
- 1:03:54Speaker 6: Or are these all short-term?
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: No. No, he did it through the stock market and
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: certain companies. And I don't want to get into his specifics.
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: Stand by. No more than I want to get into yours.
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: But stand by. News Radio 570 WKBN and Ron Furb.
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: I'll come back with more at 422 in the afternoon.

- 1:05:23Speaker 6: Hey, Ron, I would recommend Options Guy to call John
- 1:05:28Speaker 6: Arnold or Rockport because... I save a ton of money
- 1:05:34Speaker 6: in taxes, and I'm going to give you a clue.
- 1:05:38Speaker 6: The way to do it is you're going to find
- 1:05:42Speaker 6: this hard to believe. Keep your net worth as close
- 1:05:45Speaker 6: to zero as possible.
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: Oh, absolutely. Absolutely. That's not a bad idea. I don't
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: like to get into talking about money and stocks and
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: all that kind of stuff.
- 1:05:57Speaker 6: Well, by the way, inflation was up last month. This
- 1:06:02Speaker 6: came in for July.
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: Yeah, 3.4, 3.5, right? Yeah.
- 1:06:07Speaker 6: And also, good news for stock investors. We're starting to
- 1:06:12Speaker 6: see a broad-based rally. It's not just AI stocks going up.
- 1:06:18Speaker 6: It's all across the board. And according to technical analysis,
- 1:06:23Speaker 6: when you have a broad-based recovery, that's good news for
- 1:06:27Speaker 6: the stock market over the next one to three years. Well,
- 1:06:34Speaker 6: I know you got money in the stock market, right?
- 1:06:37Speaker 6: Your 401k?
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: I'm sure I do. I'm sure I do.
- 1:06:41Speaker 6: You may not want to cash out just yet.
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: No, no, no, no, no, no, no, not at all. But,
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: I mean, listen, there are a lot of smart people,
- 1:06:49Speaker 1: and I don't want to get into specifics, but I
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: can assure you that the gentleman you're referring to has
- 1:06:55Speaker 1: made millions of dollars doing it. And make no mistake.
- 1:06:59Speaker 1: And I'm sure you're doing well. I don't dwell on
- 1:07:02Speaker 1: it as far as you guys talking about it because
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: you don't understand when I say this. You guys are
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: at another level talking this stuff that most people don't understand.
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: So you kind of blur out on it. But you
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: should really... understand some of this stuff. I mean, I
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: sit here and would say just in general, any person
- 1:07:22Speaker 1: that's out there today should have a Roth IRA. I mean,
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: if you don't know what a Roth IRA is, if
- 1:07:28Speaker 1: you're 20, 30, 40, whatever years old and and you
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: don't put money into a Roth IRA every year, you're
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: making a serious mistake. Because in a Roth IRA, there
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: are no required minimum distributions when you hit 73. And
- 1:07:41Speaker 1: the money you put into a Roth IRA is taxable
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: going in. But all of its growth and earnings are
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: non-taxable coming out. So think about that. Think about the
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: power of compounding something over 20, 30, 40 years, and
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: there's no taxes on it coming out. That is a
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: hell of an opportunity for people. Didn't exist when I
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: was a young guy or when you were a young guy,
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: but it exists today and people should take advantage of it.
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: That would be my one tip to anybody listening, really,
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: is the Ross are an excellent way to... Prepare for
- 1:08:18Speaker 1: your future. Time goes by quickly as you grow older.
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: But my problem is many people don't want to set
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: money aside. You've got to say no to yourself and say,
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: I'm willing to put in a couple thousand. I think
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: you'd put in up to $ 7, 000 a year. But you
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: should put in as much as you can every year, diligently.
- 1:08:34Speaker 6: But the problem is people are hurting so bad, they're
- 1:08:39Speaker 6: withdrawing money from their... Irish and 401ks at record rates
- 1:08:44Speaker 6: to make ends meet.
- 1:08:45Speaker 3: Yep.
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: You are 100% correct on that. But I would ask
- 1:08:51Speaker 1: you this, though. I totally agree with that, incidentally. But
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: sometimes I also think a lot of my peers, are
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: unable to say no to themselves. And since my dad
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: always said you've got to live as far below your
- 1:09:06Speaker 1: means as is possible. You should buy a comfortable home,
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: but you don't need a mansion or that type of
- 1:09:13Speaker 1: wasted money. I mean, I just think a lot of
- 1:09:15Speaker 1: people spend money foolishly, in my opinion. That's my opinion.
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: They live at their means or beyond their means. And
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: I'm not saying that if you're restricted on your income
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: that it can't be difficult to save money. Obviously, it can.
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: Inflation's making us all poorer. I don't disagree with that
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: at all. I don't care what you make.
- 1:09:35Speaker 6: Well, let me say real quick before I go to
- 1:09:38Speaker 6: the important topic, but I believe options guy made a
- 1:09:42Speaker 6: lot of money in stocks, but not options like he claims.
- 1:09:46Speaker 6: I used to be an options broker, not a stock
- 1:09:49Speaker 6: options broker or commodity. And most people, if they don't
- 1:09:53Speaker 6: make a quick profit and quit and they keep playing options,
- 1:09:58Speaker 6: all of them end up losing money.
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: Well, a lot of these guys made millions with NVIDIA
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: and some of those other stocks early on. But I'm
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: going to watch that video he was telling me about.
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: I'm going to watch this Ron Barron and see what
- 1:10:11Speaker 1: he has to say about SpaceX. I just find it intriguing,
- 1:10:14Speaker 1: that's all. Basically, he was telling me Ron Barron was
- 1:10:19Speaker 1: saying that he would buy SpaceX and just sit on
- 1:10:23Speaker 1: it and keep it for a long time. He thinks
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: it's going to No one knows for certain, obviously, but
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: he thinks it'll be a goodbye long-term. In your case,
- 1:10:36Speaker 1: you probably wouldn't want to do that because long-term isn't long-term.
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: Or frankly, in my case, too. You follow me? But
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: if you were younger, that's a different story. We don't
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: have long-term, Frank.
- 1:10:50Speaker 4: I know, Ron. Stand by.
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: Stand by. Come back and wrap up with Frank and
- 1:10:54Speaker 1: take more of your calls. 4.30 in the afternoon, Ron
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: Verb from the Kingdom of Mahoney. News Radio 570 WKVN.
- 1:11:06Speaker 27: A man who was out on bond after being charged
- 1:11:08Speaker 27: with rape earlier this year is now being accused of
- 1:11:10Speaker 27: another sexual assault. Whitehall police say Devon McBroom attacked a
- 1:11:15Speaker 27: woman at a UDF store on East Main Street early
- 1:11:18Speaker 27: Tuesday morning. The initial rape charges McBroom picked up in
- 1:11:23Speaker 27: February are still pending as well. Officers say he is
- 1:11:26Speaker 27: back in custody. Meantime, a suspect in custody after the
- 1:11:30Speaker 27: fatal shooting of a man behind a Cleveland auto shop.
- 1:11:32Speaker 27: 44-year-old Aaron Forster was found shot near East 55th and
- 1:11:36Speaker 27: Lexington Avenue.
- 1:11:37Speaker 1: He later died at the hospital.
- 1:11:38Speaker 27: 28-year-old Matthew Cooperwood has been arrested on a murder charge.
- 1:11:42Speaker 27: Eight new people are in custody after a double shooting
- 1:11:44Speaker 27: yesterday afternoon in the Cincinnati neighborhood of Avondale. The incident
- 1:11:48Speaker 27: happened near Purdue Street and Forest Avenue, and the victims
- 1:11:50Speaker 27: survived the shootings and remain in the hospital.
- 1:11:53Speaker 1: I'm Brady Hopkins.
- 1:11:54Speaker 13: Listen on the free iHeartRadio app for all your music, news, talk,
- 1:11:58Speaker 13: and sports radio.
- 1:11:59Speaker 1: Podcasts, too. Download the app.
- 1:12:02Speaker 2: Free never sounded so good. Now, Ron Verb. on NewsRadio
- 1:12:08Speaker 2: 570 WKBN. All right, so make your point, Frank.
- 1:12:13Speaker 6: All right, Ron, I think you should look into this.
- 1:12:15Speaker 6: The Republican Senate version of the NDAA would create a
- 1:12:21Speaker 6: defense equity investment account allowing up to $ 500 million in
- 1:12:26Speaker 6: direct corporate investments in batteries, critical minerals, and chemicals. Ron
- 1:12:33Speaker 6: Paul says this is using... government funds to invest in
- 1:12:37Speaker 6: private companies in exchange for partial government ownership. Ron, I
- 1:12:42Speaker 6: think this is a greater evil than Democrat socialists dictating
- 1:12:47Speaker 6: to private businesses as to what they can do or
- 1:12:50Speaker 6: not do, because, Ron, capital would flow not to companies
- 1:12:54Speaker 6: that serve their customers best, but to those that please
- 1:12:58Speaker 6: politicians best.
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: I would agree. First, I agree with that criticism. I
- 1:13:03Speaker 1: think both of them, the Democrats, Socialists, and what you're saying,
- 1:13:06Speaker 1: are both causes for concern. Deeply causes for concern. I
- 1:13:10Speaker 1: would agree with that. I totally agree with that.
- 1:13:12Speaker 6: You know, Ron, businesses would be incentivized to seek government
- 1:13:16Speaker 6: favors over customers by what's going on.
- 1:13:20Speaker 21: Yep, yep.
- 1:13:21Speaker 6: And you know what? China's one... Yifu Gold Exchange Traded
- 1:13:27Speaker 6: Fund now has a market cap of $ 13 billion, larger
- 1:13:31Speaker 6: than another fund called Hu Tai Pine Bridge CSI 300.
- 1:13:37Speaker 6: What that means, Ron, Chinese retail investors are moving away
- 1:13:42Speaker 6: from stocks to gold. And gold is going up. I mean,
- 1:13:48Speaker 6: this war, Ron, is causing inflation, not just in the
- 1:13:52Speaker 6: United States. but all over the world.
- 1:13:55Speaker 1: Oh, it's going to cause problems with food as well.
- 1:13:57Speaker 1: I agree. Thank you for a long time. Go ahead.
- 1:14:00Speaker 6: Did you hear what Trump announced, what he's going to
- 1:14:04Speaker 6: do to help the Republicans get reelected?
- 1:14:08Speaker 4: What?
- 1:14:08Speaker 6: He's going to basically buy votes. Trump is getting... For example,
- 1:14:15Speaker 6: raising ethanol levels in gas to 15% in order to
- 1:14:20Speaker 6: make farmers heading towards bankruptcy like.
- 1:14:23Speaker 3: Him a little.
- 1:14:24Speaker 1: I don't think I want that much ethanol in my gas.
- 1:14:28Speaker 6: No, it'll destroy your car. Are you kidding? Yeah, you're right.
- 1:14:31Speaker 1: I don't want that.
- 1:14:32Speaker 6: And another $ 12 billion in farmer bailouts to compensate farmers
- 1:14:36Speaker 6: for Trump's destructive trade wars. And Trump Rx keeps generic
- 1:14:41Speaker 6: drug prices dirt cheap. But Trump Accounts gives $ 1, 000 in
- 1:14:46Speaker 6: index funds to every newborn child. And Freedom Fuel sells
- 1:14:52Speaker 6: gas $ 0. 32 cheaper than the national average at government backstations.
- 1:14:58Speaker 6: And he wants a 10% cap on credit card rates.
- 1:15:02Speaker 6: So only people like me and you with A1 credit
- 1:15:06Speaker 6: will get credit cards. And screw everybody else. Ron, he's desperate.
- 1:15:13Speaker 6: He's trying to buy votes from us. I don't know
- 1:15:16Speaker 6: if it's going to work.
- 1:15:18Speaker 1: We shall see.
- 1:15:20Speaker 6: Yeah, just like the Democrats.
- 1:15:21Speaker 1: You're on the air.
- 1:15:22Speaker 28: Hey, Fort Lauderdale, Frank. So that $ 1, 000 for the newborns,
- 1:15:30Speaker 28: that was all donated money by, I don't know, Dell,
- 1:15:34Speaker 28: the guy who created the Dell computers. So, you know, yesterday,
- 1:15:40Speaker 28: and I know that that other guy on Fifth Avenue,
- 1:15:43Speaker 28: whatever his name is.
- 1:15:45Speaker 5: Yes.
- 1:15:45Speaker 28: I mean, he called and ranted and raged about that
- 1:15:52Speaker 28: he can't stand listening to the conservatives and he can't
- 1:15:57Speaker 28: stand listening to this and listening to that.
- 1:15:59Speaker 1: No, he didn't say he couldn't stand it. He said
- 1:16:02Speaker 1: he disagreed with it and he explained why he disagreed
- 1:16:05Speaker 1: with it.
- 1:16:07Speaker 28: No, he said it made him sick.
- 1:16:09Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:16:10Speaker 28: And I listen to see there's an awful lot of
- 1:16:14Speaker 28: just blanket statements talking about lies. I would like to
- 1:16:19Speaker 28: know specifically, because nine times out of ten, if you
- 1:16:23Speaker 28: turn around at an interview and ask them for specific examples,
- 1:16:27Speaker 28: they can't give them to you. They just do the
- 1:16:31Speaker 28: blanket thing. I mean, you know, he went to the
- 1:16:34Speaker 28: No Kings rally yesterday. because he thinks that Trump wants
- 1:16:40Speaker 28: to be a king. On the same token, Trump is
- 1:16:43Speaker 28: so infirmed that he doesn't know what he's doing. Here's
- 1:16:46Speaker 28: the thing. All they do is complain. They don't critically think.
- 1:16:50Speaker 28: It's just all complaints. And that's all I hear from
- 1:16:59Speaker 28: some of these.
- 1:17:01Speaker 29: Old guys.
- 1:17:02Speaker 28: And they really don't have facts to back it up.
- 1:17:05Speaker 28: It's all about their feelings. So the interesting thing yesterday, whatever,
- 1:17:11Speaker 28: I saw on... I saw a Teddy Roosevelt quote. It says,
- 1:17:15Speaker 28: to anger a conservative, lie to him. To anger a liberal,
- 1:17:20Speaker 28: tell him the truth. And if they're so upset about
- 1:17:24Speaker 28: what they hear about Trump or what he's trying to do, listen,
- 1:17:31Speaker 28: you know, I understand that this war is probably not
- 1:17:34Speaker 28: working out, but... They also don't like the fact that
- 1:17:38Speaker 28: the border's closed. They also don't like the fact that
- 1:17:41Speaker 28: we're deporting all these people. They also don't like a
- 1:17:44Speaker 28: lot of the good things that Trump did that's benefiting sending,
- 1:17:49Speaker 28: you know, people in to help clean up these blue
- 1:17:53Speaker 28: cities and trying to help, you know, Americans and put
- 1:17:57Speaker 28: America first. They don't like that either. So I just
- 1:18:03Speaker 28: get anxious and anxiety- when they just start ranting that
- 1:18:09Speaker 28: I felt like I had to rant myself a little bit.
- 1:18:13Speaker 1: You should get all worked up.
- 1:18:16Speaker 7: Well, not really.
- 1:18:18Speaker 28: The next time that people just start blanket asking about
- 1:18:24Speaker 28: or saying lies or he did this or he did that,
- 1:18:27Speaker 28: I mean, think about it. The Democrats lied about Trump
- 1:18:32Speaker 28: for months. And the money, they're so afraid, oh, he
- 1:18:36Speaker 28: spent this much money. They spent millions and millions of
- 1:18:40Speaker 28: dollars impeaching him and millions and millions of dollars trying to,
- 1:18:45Speaker 28: you know, screw him over with lawsuits. And I mean,
- 1:18:52Speaker 28: but that doesn't bother them. That doesn't bother them. So
- 1:18:56Speaker 28: because my feeling is if you ask me, well, you know,
- 1:19:01Speaker 28: what about, you know, the Biden administration and their lies? Oh,
- 1:19:04Speaker 28: I could tell you the lies. We could tell you
- 1:19:07Speaker 28: the lies about him being incapacitated. We could tell you
- 1:19:12Speaker 28: the lies about Hunter Biden's laptop. It isn't real. And
- 1:19:18Speaker 28: of the 50 people that they got to swear to it,
- 1:19:22Speaker 28: that we're all liars. I mean, we could tell you
- 1:19:25Speaker 28: the lies. And it's just like the quote said, if
- 1:19:29Speaker 28: you want to anger a conservative, lie to them. Because
- 1:19:32Speaker 28: we don't like being, we don't mind losing fair and square.
- 1:19:36Speaker 28: But we certainly don't want to be cheated, and we
- 1:19:40Speaker 28: certainly don't want you to lie to us. But the
- 1:19:44Speaker 28: liberals can't stand hearing the truth. I used to listen
- 1:19:48Speaker 28: a long time ago when Biden was the president. I
- 1:19:53Speaker 28: never heard these guys. I never heard them call and
- 1:19:56Speaker 28: complain about the inflation. I never heard them call and
- 1:20:03Speaker 28: complain about You know, being deceived by Biden or all those.
- 1:20:08Speaker 28: I mean, they lied. They said the videos were deep
- 1:20:12Speaker 28: fakes or cheap fakes or whatever.
- 1:20:16Speaker 1: And they weren't.
- 1:20:18Speaker 28: They lied to us about COVID.
- 1:20:20Speaker 4: They lied to.
- 1:20:20Speaker 28: Us about a lot of things. So, excuses if we're
- 1:20:25Speaker 28: just a little sensitive about being called liars.
- 1:20:33Speaker 10: Hmm.
- 1:20:34Speaker 28: That's kind of all, that's kind of, yeah, it did
- 1:20:37Speaker 28: get me all kind of.
- 1:20:38Speaker 30: Riled up there.
- 1:20:39Speaker 1: I can tell. It's very disturbing to me. It seems
- 1:20:42Speaker 1: like you're right on the edge.
- 1:20:46Speaker 3: Oh, no.
- 1:20:46Speaker 1: Listen, you better get right to the liquor cabinet and
- 1:20:49Speaker 1: start drinking.
- 1:20:50Speaker 5: Oh, yeah.
- 1:20:51Speaker 28: You know what? That's a great idea. It's perfect weather
- 1:20:56Speaker 28: for that. I got nowhere to go.
- 1:20:58Speaker 1: There you go.
- 1:20:59Speaker 28: Anyhow, I'm just going to sit here and listen to
- 1:21:01Speaker 28: you for, For what? The next hour and 15 minutes
- 1:21:05Speaker 28: and have a cocktail.
- 1:21:09Speaker 1: You'll probably be sound asleep in 15 minutes after the cocktail.
- 1:21:13Speaker 28: Don't bore me or.
- 1:21:14Speaker 1: I will fall asleep. Listen, at your age.
- 1:21:17Speaker 29: Well, all I need is.
- 1:21:18Speaker 28: All I'll need is J.J. the Trumpster to call us.
- 1:21:21Speaker 1: Isn't it amazing, ever since his electric shock treatment, the
- 1:21:25Speaker 1: amazing transformation that's happened with J.J. the liberalist, now J.J.
- 1:21:30Speaker 1: the Trumpster. He's been Fetterman! Yes, I never thought of that.
- 1:21:37Speaker 1: He's been Fetterman from now on.
- 1:21:41Speaker 28: If they switch over and they start making sense, I'm
- 1:21:46Speaker 28: just going to say they've been Fetterman.
- 1:21:49Speaker 1: Now, you know, I suspect that J.J. the Liberal deep
- 1:21:52Speaker 1: down is still J.J. the Liberal, but I think he
- 1:21:55Speaker 1: might be one of the greatest actors of all time
- 1:21:58Speaker 1: as J.J. the Trumpster. I'm suspicious of it. I'm letting
- 1:22:04Speaker 1: it go, and I'm trying to look deep into his
- 1:22:06Speaker 1: soul as he speaks to see if this is just
- 1:22:09Speaker 1: some type of great acting on his part, if he's
- 1:22:12Speaker 1: just playing the character of J.J. the Trumpster, or if
- 1:22:15Speaker 1: he really did have electric shock therapy symptoms. and has
- 1:22:17Speaker 1: switched from J.J. the liberal to J.J. the Trumpster. I
- 1:22:20Speaker 1: will get to the bottom of it.
- 1:22:21Speaker 28: Well, what he's going to find out is he, if
- 1:22:23Speaker 28: he's J.J. the Trumpster, he's going to be a much
- 1:22:26Speaker 28: happier person.
- 1:22:27Speaker 4: He's not going to be as angry.
- 1:22:28Speaker 1: I think so. I think so.
- 1:22:30Speaker 28: He's not going to, everything's not going to bother him.
- 1:22:34Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:22:35Speaker 28: People will like him.
- 1:22:36Speaker 1: Yes.
- 1:22:37Speaker 28: And people aren't going to call and complain. And, you know,
- 1:22:40Speaker 28: deep down, he just really wants to be liked.
- 1:22:44Speaker 1: Isn't that what we all want deep down?
- 1:22:46Speaker 28: We just all really want to be like, no.
- 1:22:48Speaker 1: Don't we all just want to be accepted for who
- 1:22:51Speaker 1: we are?
- 1:22:51Speaker 14: That's right.
- 1:22:54Speaker 1: Is it such a big deal?
- 1:22:55Speaker 28: Screaming and hollering and yelling and getting upset. Can't you
- 1:23:00Speaker 28: just realize life is so much better as a Trump.
- 1:23:03Speaker 1: Can you just accept some guy wearing a dress and say,
- 1:23:06Speaker 1: you know, he thinks he's a woman. I'm just going
- 1:23:09Speaker 1: to accept it. Nothing weird here. Look the other way.
- 1:23:13Speaker 1: Perfectly normal.
- 1:23:14Speaker 28: That's right.
- 1:23:15Speaker 1: All right.
- 1:23:15Speaker 30: That's right.
- 1:23:16Speaker 4: Okay.
- 1:23:16Speaker 1: Thanks. You're on air.
- 1:23:20Speaker 30: I've been restarted on the drinking already today, so she's
- 1:23:24Speaker 30: got to catch up with me. So I'm a little
- 1:23:27Speaker 30: upset again, but people picking on Trump, and so I'm... Well,
- 1:23:32Speaker 30: he drank a little bit. I could still have the
- 1:23:36Speaker 30: bottle left. So I hope she can catch up with me.
- 1:23:42Speaker 1: Excuse me, folks. It's J.J. the Trumpster. So, J.J. the Trumpster,
- 1:23:48Speaker 1: why are you so upset today? What is bothering you today?
- 1:23:51Speaker 30: Well, I'm coming to celebrate.
- 1:23:53Speaker 4: I'm celebrating.
- 1:23:55Speaker 30: So I'm drinking and celebrating.
- 1:23:57Speaker 1: What are you celebrating?
- 1:23:58Speaker 4: I'm celebrating.
- 1:24:01Speaker 30: I'm actually in the doctor's office right now. I don't
- 1:24:03Speaker 30: know if they'll see me because I'm drinking today, so
- 1:24:07Speaker 30: they don't know. I still have a couple more treatments
- 1:24:11Speaker 30: to go.
- 1:24:12Speaker 1: Oh, you mean the shock?
- 1:24:13Speaker 30: I'm happy because I'm getting my next..
- 1:24:16Speaker 1: Shock therapy?
- 1:24:17Speaker 24: My next..
- 1:24:19Speaker 30: What are those called?
- 1:24:20Speaker 1: Shock therapy. Electric shock therapy.
- 1:24:23Speaker 30: Yeah, that therapy that you said.
- 1:24:27Speaker 18: I kept that today.
- 1:24:29Speaker 1: Do they hold them like, you know, it's almost like
- 1:24:32Speaker 1: the paddles that they do on your heart. They hold
- 1:24:34Speaker 1: it right on your temple, right? And then they give
- 1:24:36Speaker 1: you that shock therapy or whatever for you.
- 1:24:39Speaker 30: Yeah, and then they.
- 1:24:42Speaker 4: Strap me down and give me a piece of wood.
- 1:24:46Speaker 30: To put in my mouth so I don't swallow my tongue.
- 1:24:48Speaker 30: That makes it a little bit easier. So I've just
- 1:24:52Speaker 30: got to make sure that they turn me on my
- 1:24:53Speaker 30: side so I don't throw up. I don't really drink
- 1:24:58Speaker 30: too much. So me and my friend Jack and Jim
- 1:25:02Speaker 30: Beam are hanging out. I'm actually happy today.
- 1:25:10Speaker 1: It's very interesting, J.J. the Liberal getting shock therapy to
- 1:25:16Speaker 1: become J.J. the Trumpster. But you're getting treatment so you
- 1:25:19Speaker 1: don't fall back into being J.J. the Liberal then, right? Now,
- 1:25:25Speaker 1: the other day, the other day when you called, you
- 1:25:27Speaker 1: were quite upset when people were critical of Trump in
- 1:25:30Speaker 1: the war effort. And basically you said to the people,
- 1:25:35Speaker 1: as J.J., the Trumpster, you said to the people, come on, folks,
- 1:25:38Speaker 1: get on board with the war train, right?
- 1:25:43Speaker 30: I hope I'm a Trump train group. It's because they
- 1:25:47Speaker 30: go up on with me, and we'll just go back.
- 1:25:50Speaker 7: On, and we'll all go down.
- 1:25:52Speaker 30: On November, we'll.
- 1:25:53Speaker 5: All vote together.
- 1:25:54Speaker 30: I'll make sure I pick everybody up, and we'll all
- 1:25:58Speaker 30: go down there and vote together. So that sounds... Maybe
- 1:26:01Speaker 30: I can even get you and.
- 1:26:06Speaker 7: G2 to go in.
- 1:26:08Speaker 1: But I have my appointment here.
- 1:26:12Speaker 4: I know.
- 1:26:13Speaker 1: Before you go in, I know it's your appointment time
- 1:26:15Speaker 1: for more electric shock therapy. But as I understand it,
- 1:26:18Speaker 1: just from what I've heard, they also want to do
- 1:26:21Speaker 1: a prostate exam. So be careful.
- 1:26:23Speaker 4: Woo!
- 1:26:24Speaker 30: That'll be it. As long as they buy me dinner first,
- 1:26:26Speaker 30: then I will be okay.
- 1:26:27Speaker 14: They'll buy me.
- 1:26:28Speaker 30: Dinner, then they can book and provide me anywhere they
- 1:26:30Speaker 30: want to.
- 1:26:31Speaker 4: Probably won't feel it.
- 1:26:32Speaker 1: There you go.
- 1:26:33Speaker 30: I'm coming.
- 1:26:34Speaker 1: I'm coming.
- 1:26:35Speaker 30: Take care of yourself, Juan.
- 1:26:36Speaker 1: All right. It's J.J. the... No, I'm sorry. It's J.J.
- 1:26:40Speaker 1: the Trumpster at his doctor's office getting his shock therapy,
- 1:26:44Speaker 1: that follow-up shock therapy, and a prostate exam at the
- 1:26:47Speaker 1: same time. You're on the air.
- 1:26:48Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:26:50Speaker 15: This is Rhett and Butler. I had the call just
- 1:26:56Speaker 15: to set the record straight on something Frank said in
- 1:26:59Speaker 15: relation to the option fellow. The option fellow, he writes options.
- 1:27:06Speaker 15: I know you don't want to get into the exotic
- 1:27:08Speaker 15: stuff of options, but he'll know if you talk to him,
- 1:27:12Speaker 15: he'll verify what I'm saying. He sells options, sells puts
- 1:27:17Speaker 15: at a certain price, and if it drops below that price,
- 1:27:20Speaker 15: he's forced to buy it it's called an exercise so
- 1:27:23Speaker 15: he would exercise on a space except he did never
- 1:27:27Speaker 15: and any it what he owned the stock that means
- 1:27:29Speaker 15: he's forced by the broker to buy the stock so
- 1:27:32Speaker 15: he owns the stock once he has the stock he
- 1:27:34Speaker 15: could sell call options in which he receives a premium
- 1:27:38Speaker 15: for that though all of these selling a put or
- 1:27:41Speaker 15: selling a call creates income for him this option fellow uh...
- 1:27:46Speaker 15: it'll verify this he would never by a call as
- 1:27:49Speaker 15: frank I love Frank. Don't get me wrong on that.
- 1:27:54Speaker 15: But the options fellow, please just verify. I know you
- 1:27:57Speaker 15: don't want to get into that kind of thing.
- 1:28:00Speaker 1: Because I won't even debate it. The guy that he's
- 1:28:02Speaker 1: referring to, that Frank's referring to, is a savvy, smart investor.
- 1:28:08Speaker 1: And I will defend him. to anybody out there. I mean,
- 1:28:12Speaker 1: not only do I think he's a great investor, I
- 1:28:16Speaker 1: just think he's overall a decent human being and a
- 1:28:18Speaker 1: good guy. I mean, I enjoy his opinions on, I
- 1:28:24Speaker 1: agree with a lot of his opinions on other stuff
- 1:28:26Speaker 1: as well, quite frankly.
- 1:28:27Speaker 4: Sure.
- 1:28:28Speaker 3: Sure.
- 1:28:28Speaker 15: I mean, at one time I was licensed to sell
- 1:28:31Speaker 15: all this stuff, okay? But I'm just saying, not to
- 1:28:34Speaker 15: take a lot of time on options, but if you
- 1:28:36Speaker 15: go to Wikipedia, do a quick read on options, you'll
- 1:28:38Speaker 15: understand The options guy will sell. He's made a lot
- 1:28:41Speaker 15: of money selling options. He might not agree with this,
- 1:28:46Speaker 15: but I don't think he would ever buy a call,
- 1:28:48Speaker 15: as Frank said. Buying a call is like walking into
- 1:28:51Speaker 15: a casino and playing at the tables. Selling calls and
- 1:28:55Speaker 15: puts is like being the casino, being the.
- 1:28:57Speaker 4: House, right?
- 1:28:59Speaker 15: OK, the smart money sells. If you have the stock,
- 1:29:03Speaker 15: you can sell the calls. If you think you might
- 1:29:05Speaker 15: want to buy the stock, you can sell the put.
- 1:29:08Speaker 15: If it goes below or above your price, respectively, you're
- 1:29:11Speaker 15: forced to buy or sell the stock. And you have
- 1:29:14Speaker 15: to cover if you're going to buy it as in
- 1:29:16Speaker 15: selling a put. You have to have cash to secure that.
- 1:29:19Speaker 15: So if you're going to buy $ 20, 000 worth of stock,
- 1:29:22Speaker 15: you write a put for that stock. You've got to
- 1:29:24Speaker 15: have the $ 20, 000 in the account ready to buy that stock.
- 1:29:28Speaker 15: which the options guy does. I had to call to
- 1:29:32Speaker 15: set the record straight on that. You know, I admire
- 1:29:35Speaker 15: what you do with defending the regular folks and all
- 1:29:40Speaker 15: of their financial situations and various things.
- 1:29:44Speaker 1: Stand by. Stand by. Just hang on one second. I'll
- 1:29:46Speaker 1: let you finish right after this. Your once WKBN. All right,
- 1:29:56Speaker 1: let me let you finish up with what you were saying.
- 1:30:00Speaker 15: Yeah, as I said, I really admire your going to
- 1:30:03Speaker 15: bat for the little guy, so to speak, okay? But
- 1:30:06Speaker 15: this is like a public service kind of a thing.
- 1:30:09Speaker 15: I just wanted, so the securities industry used to be
- 1:30:12Speaker 15: governed by the NASD, National Association of Security Dealers. Now
- 1:30:17Speaker 15: it's under an organization called FINRA, Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, right, FINRA?
- 1:30:23Speaker 5: Yes.
- 1:30:24Speaker 15: So if you are looking to invest your 401k or
- 1:30:27Speaker 15: looking to do business with somebody with investments of all kinds,
- 1:30:31Speaker 15: that'd be funds, stocks, whatever, ETFs, you go to FINRA's
- 1:30:35Speaker 15: website and you go to the broker check section. It's
- 1:30:38Speaker 15: right at the top. So what you'll do is you
- 1:30:40Speaker 15: put in the name of the person that you deal
- 1:30:42Speaker 15: with or you put in the person that you're prospectively
- 1:30:46Speaker 15: going to deal with. And it'll come right up with
- 1:30:49Speaker 15: a list of the firms that they were with over
- 1:30:51Speaker 15: the many years that they were licensed. And it'll come
- 1:30:53Speaker 15: up with customer disclosures or customer disputes.
- 1:30:57Speaker 4: They're all listed.
- 1:30:59Speaker 15: Now, most brokers or investment advisors, 80% of them have
- 1:31:02Speaker 15: zero customer disputes, right? In many cases, there were fines,
- 1:31:09Speaker 15: sometimes substantial fines for people who've misled customers, done unauthorized trading,
- 1:31:14Speaker 15: things like that. So if there's anybody who's dealing as
- 1:31:18Speaker 15: an investment advisor or a broker, you go to FINRA,
- 1:31:21Speaker 15: go to broker check, put their name in, and you
- 1:31:23Speaker 15: will see everything that they've done. If they've been to
- 1:31:27Speaker 15: like eight or ten firms, that's usually a problem, okay?
- 1:31:31Speaker 15: If they've got five, six, eight, ten customer disputes or
- 1:31:35Speaker 15: actions under them, especially ones where they've been fined or
- 1:31:38Speaker 15: they've been fired or they've been asked to leave a firm.
- 1:31:42Speaker 10: That's a problem.
- 1:31:42Speaker 15: I would think you wouldn't want to deal with that person. Secondly,
- 1:31:48Speaker 15: of all of the vehicles out there, you've got mutual funds,
- 1:31:52Speaker 15: exchange-traded funds, ETFs, managed accounts, et cetera. Those are all
- 1:31:58Speaker 15: regulated by the SEC under the Know Your Customer Rule,
- 1:32:01Speaker 15: 1933 Securities Exchange Act. The broker or investment advisor is
- 1:32:08Speaker 15: required to know the customer's situation completely and fulfill all
- 1:32:12Speaker 15: the disclosure requirements. A hedge fund, unless it's particularly if
- 1:32:17Speaker 15: it's under $ 150 million, is largely unregulated. It's a completely
- 1:32:23Speaker 15: different category than a broker or an investment advisor. Somebody
- 1:32:28Speaker 15: who's running a hedge fund does not have to fall
- 1:32:31Speaker 15: under FINRA, particularly if it's under $ 150 million. And look,
- 1:32:38Speaker 15: I just wanted to say I really enjoy your show.
- 1:32:40Speaker 15: And I know you and I are about the same age.
- 1:32:44Speaker 15: And honestly, the local radio has got a lot of value,
- 1:32:46Speaker 15: and I'd be sorry.
- 1:32:48Speaker 4: If it goes away.
- 1:32:49Speaker 1: Well, it will in time. Unfortunately, that's the direction it
- 1:32:52Speaker 1: seems these large companies are going. But it's here for now.
- 1:32:56Speaker 1: I appreciate your time, and I thank you a great
- 1:32:58Speaker 1: deal for your call.
- 1:32:59Speaker 22: Thank you.
- 1:32:59Speaker 4: Thank you, Ron.
- 1:33:00Speaker 1: You got it. NewsRadio 570 WKBN and Ron Verb. We'll

- 1:33:31Speaker 1: Guaranteed human.
- 1:33:39Speaker 18: She speaks for the president on Lisa Brady Fox News,
- 1:33:42Speaker 18: but not for much longer as one of the president's
- 1:33:44Speaker 18: most trusted aides prepares to leave the administration.
- 1:33:47Speaker 23: Caroline Leavitt, the youngest person to ever serve as White
- 1:33:50Speaker 23: House press secretary, will step down at the end of
- 1:33:53Speaker 23: the month. President Trump announced a move on social media.
- 1:33:56Speaker 23: saying Levitt will depart her role to spend time with
- 1:33:58Speaker 23: her young family, adding Levitt will be one of his
- 1:34:01Speaker 23: top outside advisors and an influential voice within the Republican Party.
- 1:34:06Speaker 23: Levitt recently returned to the White House following the birth
- 1:34:09Speaker 23: of her second child in May. She served as a
- 1:34:12Speaker 23: press aide during President Trump's first term and was a
- 1:34:15Speaker 23: top spokesperson for the president's 2024 campaign.
- 1:34:18Speaker 18: Fox's Jared Halpern at the White House. In her own statement,
- 1:34:21Speaker 18: Levitt calls the decision bittersweet, writing, She feels in her
- 1:34:24Speaker 18: heart she can't be the best mom her two young
- 1:34:26Speaker 18: children deserve. while devoting the constant time, energy, and attention
- 1:34:30Speaker 18: required of the White House press secretary. We are still
- 1:34:33Speaker 18: learning more about a decoy Air Force One flight last month.
- 1:34:37Speaker 31: We have a couple big new pieces of information to
- 1:34:40Speaker 31: help us put this puzzle together. They're coming to us
- 1:34:43Speaker 31: from a senior administration official. Scott Besson and Marco Rubio,
- 1:34:48Speaker 31: the fourth and fifth in the presidential line of succession,
- 1:34:51Speaker 31: were still on board this decoy Air Force One after
- 1:34:56Speaker 31: President Trump made the switch of the planes. And they
- 1:34:59Speaker 31: knew that President Trump. was getting off the plane, so
- 1:35:02Speaker 31: it wasn't a surprise to them. We're also told that
- 1:35:05Speaker 31: the decoy Air Force One was flanked for the ride
- 1:35:09Speaker 31: to the UK by fighter jets.
- 1:35:11Speaker 18: Fox's Peter Doocy at the White House. The Washington Post
- 1:35:13Speaker 18: has reported the decoy flight followed threats from Iran. Just
- 1:35:17Speaker 18: getting word of a deadly helicopter crash in Texas, an
- 1:35:20Speaker 18: Apache helicopter Possibly from Fort Hood, the Bell County Sheriff's
- 1:35:23Speaker 18: Office says two people were killed.
- 1:35:25Speaker 17: Believed to be military members.
- 1:35:27Speaker 18: That helicopter crashed into a field, also touching off a
- 1:35:31Speaker 18: wildfire and prompting evacuations.

- 1:36:55Speaker 1: nice day, too. I mean, it's overcast. My kind of day.
- 1:37:00Speaker 1: Sun isn't beating down on you. It's overcast. Got a breeze,
- 1:37:04Speaker 1: 75 degrees. It's comfortable. Ron Verp from the Kingdom of
- 1:37:07Speaker 1: Mahoning on NewsRadio 570. D.O.D.Q.B.N., you're on the air.
- 1:37:09Speaker 10: Hi, Ron.
- 1:37:11Speaker 14: Pleasantville Patriot here.
- 1:37:13Speaker 1: Yes, sir.
- 1:37:14Speaker 14: I heard Frank talking about the bailout to the farmers.
- 1:37:18Speaker 1: Yes.
- 1:37:19Speaker 14: But I never hear him talking about the Stacey Abrams
- 1:37:22Speaker 14: fake nonprofit getting $ 2 billion or all of the... crazy
- 1:37:28Speaker 14: grants under the Farm Bureau, or excuse me, the Farm Bill,
- 1:37:32Speaker 14: like Ducks Unlimited, getting $ 300 million a year. We're $ 40
- 1:37:35Speaker 14: trillion in debt, $ 2 trillion in deficits, spending a trillion
- 1:37:39Speaker 14: a year in interest on the debt. I never hear
- 1:37:41Speaker 14: the Franks of the world talking about their plan to
- 1:37:44Speaker 14: balance the federal budget to start paying down this massive debt.
- 1:37:48Speaker 14: And can you imagine if we just paid down a
- 1:37:50Speaker 14: trillion dollars a year?
- 1:37:51Speaker 7: It'd take 40 years. It's just crazy.
- 1:37:55Speaker 14: And nobody is talking about these things and praising Trump
- 1:37:58Speaker 14: for the billions and billions of fraud that he's exposed
- 1:38:01Speaker 14: that's going to save us billions down the road. And
- 1:38:04Speaker 14: there's just like a report every day of, you know,
- 1:38:07Speaker 14: another two, three, four billion that they found in fraud.
- 1:38:11Speaker 14: And I don't think at the end of Trump's four
- 1:38:13Speaker 14: years they're still going to find it all. It's so
- 1:38:15Speaker 14: deeply entrenched. And how about all the states that won't
- 1:38:19Speaker 14: cough up their voter rolls, won't cough up their information
- 1:38:22Speaker 14: on you know, that Medicare and all of the other
- 1:38:27Speaker 14: federal programs, to me, it should be mandatory that if
- 1:38:31Speaker 14: the federal government's going to hand you money, it has
- 1:38:34Speaker 14: to be audited, and you have to turn over all
- 1:38:37Speaker 14: of the information of the recipients to the federal government.
- 1:38:41Speaker 14: How else can you keep track of all this stuff?
- 1:38:44Speaker 14: So I just want to hear all of the liberals,
- 1:38:46Speaker 14: the Trump haters, I want to hear their plan for
- 1:38:49Speaker 14: balancing our federal budget and paying down this massive.
- 1:38:54Speaker 1: But I will say this, whether you're a Trump lover
- 1:38:56Speaker 1: or hater or Republican or Democrat, here's my observation and
- 1:39:01Speaker 1: what is your reaction to it. Listen, with all reality,
- 1:39:05Speaker 1: Trump is adding significantly to the debt deficit. I'll spin back,
- 1:39:10Speaker 1: as I said before. I supported Elon Musk and what
- 1:39:14Speaker 1: he was doing and all that he was exposing. 100%.
- 1:39:18Speaker 1: And I honestly believe when they were saying they could
- 1:39:20Speaker 1: come up with maybe $ 2 trillion a year in wasteful spending,
- 1:39:24Speaker 1: that doesn't surprise me at all. The defense budget has
- 1:39:29Speaker 1: never been able to go through an audit. We really
- 1:39:31Speaker 1: can't account for where all this money is going. But
- 1:39:37Speaker 1: negative for Trump is he went from $ 900 billion in
- 1:39:39Speaker 1: defense to $ 1. 5 trillion. That's all of our discretionary money.
- 1:39:44Speaker 1: And I don't buy that we should be taking our
- 1:39:48Speaker 1: discretionary money and spending it all on the military because
- 1:39:51Speaker 1: we do have significant problems. We do have poor people
- 1:39:54Speaker 1: in the country. And we do have other issues besides
- 1:39:57Speaker 1: the military that have to be dealt with. whether that's
- 1:40:00Speaker 1: bolstering up Social Security or Medicare or Medicaid. There are
- 1:40:05Speaker 1: other issues. So I don't agree with him going from
- 1:40:08Speaker 1: $ 900 billion to $ 1. 5 trillion because you're ignoring issues that
- 1:40:13Speaker 1: do affect the American public and American people in some
- 1:40:16Speaker 1: places where money is needed. With that being said, he's
- 1:40:20Speaker 1: adding to the debt and deficit at a pretty good level,
- 1:40:25Speaker 1: just as the Democrats have done. And you take a look,
- 1:40:30Speaker 1: not just Trump. I'm not just talking to president. Look
- 1:40:33Speaker 1: at Congress. Look at the Republicans and Democrats in Congress
- 1:40:37Speaker 1: over the years. I am convinced none of these people
- 1:40:40Speaker 1: give a damn about this $ 40 trillion that we're in debt,
- 1:40:44Speaker 1: which is really more than that. I don't think. Any
- 1:40:46Speaker 1: of them give a damn about it. They haven't done
- 1:40:49Speaker 1: anything about it. They continue to spend more money than
- 1:40:52Speaker 1: we take in. They attacked Elon Musk to run him
- 1:40:55Speaker 1: right out of the Democrats, attacked him, firebombed his dealerships,
- 1:41:01Speaker 1: keyed his customer cars, ran him right out of town.
- 1:41:06Speaker 1: And I don't think you'll ever see anybody take on,
- 1:41:09Speaker 1: with the technology and the... And the money that Musk had,
- 1:41:14Speaker 1: I don't think you'll see anybody do the job that
- 1:41:16Speaker 1: Doge was doing to go through all this wasteful government
- 1:41:19Speaker 1: spending or technology that was outdated to try to fix
- 1:41:24Speaker 1: this problem and find all the fraud and waste because
- 1:41:27Speaker 1: they ran that man out of Washington, D.C. The Democrats
- 1:41:29Speaker 1: were successful at doing that, but the American public will
- 1:41:33Speaker 1: pay a dear price for that waste, fraud, and abuse continuing.
- 1:41:38Speaker 1: And the Republicans are to blame for adding to it
- 1:41:41Speaker 1: and not doing enough as well, including having pork in
- 1:41:44Speaker 1: their districts. So I honestly believe the country will go bust.
- 1:41:49Speaker 1: And all of these people that made these decisions will
- 1:41:52Speaker 1: get their retirement, their benefits, and their health care, and
- 1:41:56Speaker 1: they won't be affected by it. But every average citizen
- 1:42:00Speaker 1: will potentially be affected by it, whether you're on Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid,
- 1:42:05Speaker 1: or whatever. or just working with investments. That is what
- 1:42:10Speaker 1: my concern is. Your comments.
- 1:42:13Speaker 14: Well, first of all, you might have not heard Trump
- 1:42:17Speaker 14: when the tariffs... We're putting in place the billions and
- 1:42:21Speaker 14: billions that this country took in due to those tariffs
- 1:42:25Speaker 14: that will help the debt and the deficit. That's a
- 1:42:28Speaker 14: ton of money. All the money, the fraud money that
- 1:42:31Speaker 14: is no longer being sent out to the fraudsters, that's
- 1:42:35Speaker 14: all saving the American people money. He's doing more drilling,
- 1:42:39Speaker 14: you know, all of the mining exploration. All of those
- 1:42:43Speaker 14: things contribute to our federal financial health. So all those
- 1:42:48Speaker 14: things have to be taken into consideration. And the cost
- 1:42:52Speaker 14: savings from not letting 10 million people flow in here
- 1:42:55Speaker 14: in this four years, as Biden did, the billions of
- 1:42:58Speaker 14: billions that cost us. So we've got to step back
- 1:43:01Speaker 14: and look at the full picture of all of the issues.
- 1:43:04Speaker 14: But I agree, there are too many rhinos, there are
- 1:43:06Speaker 14: too many Republicans, and almost all Democrats that are getting
- 1:43:10Speaker 14: behind all these crazy grants to these nonprofits or so-called
- 1:43:13Speaker 14: nonprofits and just... Companies that don't need them, and then
- 1:43:18Speaker 14: they get nice big campaign contributions and pats on the
- 1:43:21Speaker 14: back and awards and their pictures in the paper. You know,
- 1:43:25Speaker 14: it's just a cycle, and it's sickening. And you're right.
- 1:43:28Speaker 14: It doesn't affect them because they've got the pensions and
- 1:43:32Speaker 14: the paychecks the benefits, and they're covered for life. So
- 1:43:36Speaker 14: we've got to root these folks out, expose them. I'd
- 1:43:39Speaker 14: love to see a list of every congressman and senator
- 1:43:42Speaker 14: that helped somebody get a grant, and if the campaign
- 1:43:46Speaker 14: contributions came flowing in from that recipient.
- 1:43:49Speaker 1: That stuff has to happen. Would you agree, like, I
- 1:43:52Speaker 1: agreed with Thomas Massey. I don't believe we can afford
- 1:43:55Speaker 1: to give any country foreign aid. Because we're trillions in
- 1:44:00Speaker 1: the hole and growing at an astronomical rate. First and foremost,
- 1:44:04Speaker 1: you can't fix this problem until you do some drastic
- 1:44:07Speaker 1: cutting in spending. And when I talk about cutting in spending,
- 1:44:10Speaker 1: I'm not talking about Social Security. I'm not talking about Medicare.
- 1:44:15Speaker 1: These are earned benefits. I'm not talking about slashing defense,
- 1:44:20Speaker 1: although defense should be able to pass a budget that
- 1:44:22Speaker 1: that shows where this money is going. It just can't
- 1:44:25Speaker 1: be accounted for. And I don't see Republicans. Do you
- 1:44:30Speaker 1: see the Republicans codifying all the executive orders that Trump
- 1:44:34Speaker 1: put out there, which they have not done? So if
- 1:44:37Speaker 1: you get a Democrat elected, he'll just erase everything with
- 1:44:40Speaker 1: the pen he brings into office. This is where the
- 1:44:43Speaker 1: Republicans have failed. They haven't codified the executive orders. They
- 1:44:47Speaker 1: haven't made them into law. They have been sitting there
- 1:44:50Speaker 1: with a majority doing nothing. not doing a damn thing
- 1:44:53Speaker 1: to codify those executive orders. So I blame them on that.
- 1:44:57Speaker 1: I blame them on wasteful spending. I blame them on
- 1:45:00Speaker 1: increasing the debt and deficit. I blame them on not
- 1:45:03Speaker 1: supporting Doge and fighting for it and keeping it alive
- 1:45:07Speaker 1: and actually trying to cut spending. But the Republicans, as
- 1:45:13Speaker 1: well as the Democrats, were even worse. The Democrats just
- 1:45:16Speaker 1: want to spend more money and think you can tax
- 1:45:19Speaker 1: the living hell out of everybody and that'll solve the problem.
- 1:45:22Speaker 1: You cannot... I am so discouraged with the issue that
- 1:45:25Speaker 1: you're talking about because... Why are we giving billions to
- 1:45:31Speaker 1: Egypt when we know we have a problem in Social
- 1:45:34Speaker 1: Security in under 10 years? I would rather a billion
- 1:45:38Speaker 1: dollars go into that program for senior citizens. period.
- 1:45:43Speaker 3: No, 100%.
- 1:45:43Speaker 14: I mean, we cannot be handing out these massive grants
- 1:45:48Speaker 14: low-interest loans that directly compete against the private sector lenders.
- 1:45:53Speaker 14: I'm in the real estate business, and we have to
- 1:45:56Speaker 14: compete against the Pennsylvania Game Commission that has no limits
- 1:46:00Speaker 14: on the amount per acre they can buy land. They're
- 1:46:02Speaker 14: building a massive empire in Pennsylvania, all tax-free at our expense.
- 1:46:08Speaker 14: They're taking in.
- 1:46:08Speaker 5: $ 100 million to $ 200.
- 1:46:09Speaker 14: Million a year from oil, gas, minerals, and they pay
- 1:46:12Speaker 14: zero income tax. If that was a private company, you'd
- 1:46:15Speaker 14: be in the 50% tax bracket. And they're competing. You know,
- 1:46:18Speaker 14: we talk about the subsidized grocery stores in New York City.
- 1:46:21Speaker 5: That's nothing.
- 1:46:22Speaker 14: These big conservancies and land trusts, they're getting government grants
- 1:46:26Speaker 14: to buy land, building empires. They have no limits on
- 1:46:30Speaker 14: the salaries of their CEOs and their employees. And they're
- 1:46:34Speaker 14: directly competing against the private sector. And don't ever forget this, Ron.
- 1:46:39Speaker 14: Our economy is built on the tax revenue from private property.
- 1:46:43Speaker 14: Our municipalities, our cities, our townships, our boroughs. And there's
- 1:46:48Speaker 14: so much tax-exempt property out there because of the nonprofits
- 1:46:52Speaker 14: and government agencies. We have counties in Pennsylvania that are
- 1:46:56Speaker 14: over 50% of their land is in government or nonprofit
- 1:47:00Speaker 14: funded by government ownership.
- 1:47:01Speaker 1: How is that even possible? Well, as you're talking, it
- 1:47:06Speaker 1: frustrates me. Like, for example, in Youngstown, Well, it's subsidized
- 1:47:10Speaker 1: by the taxpayer because it's taxpayer money and it doesn't matter.
- 1:47:13Speaker 1: So we will build a brand new home in Youngstown
- 1:47:16Speaker 1: and Warren in these areas for $ 300, 000. But you can come,
- 1:47:21Speaker 1: as long as you agree to live in it for
- 1:47:22Speaker 1: five years, we'll sell it to you for $ 180, 000. Why
- 1:47:25Speaker 1: am I subsidizing that? I mean, what business? This is insanity.
- 1:47:31Speaker 1: So if I want to build that home, I got
- 1:47:34Speaker 1: to pay $ 300, 000 for it. When did this become a
- 1:47:40Speaker 1: government program? When did we say we're going to use
- 1:47:42Speaker 1: our tax dollars to subsidize a new home built in
- 1:47:46Speaker 1: Youngstown for somebody to buy that they will own as
- 1:47:50Speaker 1: long as they stay in it five years, and then
- 1:47:52Speaker 1: they can sell it and they can get their equity
- 1:47:54Speaker 1: out of it? How does that make sense?
- 1:47:57Speaker 14: It greatly distorts the free market system.
- 1:48:00Speaker 4: Exactly.
- 1:48:00Speaker 1: Exactly.
- 1:48:02Speaker 4: Exactly.
- 1:48:03Speaker 14: And it creates an uneven playing field and it's got
- 1:48:06Speaker 14: to stop. Nonprofits are getting into the private sector business world.
- 1:48:11Speaker 14: They're completely subsidized, tax exempt. You cannot compete with them.
- 1:48:15Speaker 14: It's not possible. And we're paying the bill for this
- 1:48:19Speaker 14: and it's going on. Redevelopment authorities over here in Pennsylvania
- 1:48:22Speaker 14: are building empires inside city limits, buying up properties with
- 1:48:26Speaker 14: government grants, refurbishing them, and then pay themselves to be
- 1:48:30Speaker 14: the landlords. And they never put them back into the
- 1:48:32Speaker 14: private sector and on the tax rolls. And it's just
- 1:48:35Speaker 14: absolutely sickening.
- 1:48:36Speaker 1: Do you ever see... When I hear this term nonprofits, oh,
- 1:48:39Speaker 1: it's a nonprofit, but it's really not a nonprofit. It's
- 1:48:43Speaker 1: just tax dollars, and all of these people that are
- 1:48:46Speaker 1: in these roles make exorbitant salaries in these nonprofits.
- 1:48:51Speaker 14: Exactly, and we're getting zero tax revenue from them.
- 1:48:55Speaker 4: Right.
- 1:48:56Speaker 14: From their buildings, from their profits. Zero, but they just
- 1:49:00Speaker 14: pay themselves unlimited salaries. And, I mean, if you saw
- 1:49:03Speaker 14: how the Pennsylvania Game Commission works over here, they own
- 1:49:06Speaker 14: 1.7 million acres. They're spending $ 5, 000, $ 10, 000, $ 15, 000 an acre
- 1:49:12Speaker 14: on land, and nobody can compete with them. They have
- 1:49:15Speaker 14: no limits. They're kind of a quasi-government agency, and then
- 1:49:19Speaker 14: we have our state spending $ 20 to $ 30 million a
- 1:49:22Speaker 14: year handing to all these so-called nonprofit conservancies and land
- 1:49:25Speaker 14: trusts buying up land. We're losing 30,000 acres of private
- 1:49:28Speaker 14: property every year in Pennsylvania, and that is our lifeblood.
- 1:49:32Speaker 14: You know, the natural resources that come from that land,
- 1:49:35Speaker 14: it's off limits forever for a new home. And in Pennsylvania,
- 1:49:38Speaker 14: one new home on an acre of land will bring
- 1:49:41Speaker 14: in as much tax revenue annually as 1,000 acres of
- 1:49:45Speaker 14: government or these NGO conservancy-owned lands.
- 1:49:48Speaker 1: Why are they buying?
- 1:49:50Speaker 14: 1,000 acres, one new home. But those lands are now
- 1:49:52Speaker 14: off limits forever. They'll never have a new home built
- 1:49:55Speaker 14: on them. and they'll never be bought and sold again.
- 1:49:58Speaker 14: We have what, in Pennsylvania, I don't know what Ohio has,
- 1:50:01Speaker 14: a 2% transfer tax on every property that's sold. Vacant,
- 1:50:05Speaker 14: a home, a business, it doesn't matter, 2%. That's gone
- 1:50:08Speaker 14: forever when these NGOs and government agencies buy the land.
- 1:50:13Speaker 14: And that's off the floor with transfer tax money that
- 1:50:15Speaker 14: comes into the township. The school district and the state
- 1:50:18Speaker 14: is gone forever when they buy the land.
- 1:50:20Speaker 1: Why are they buying all this land? What's the motivation?
- 1:50:23Speaker 14: They say it's for conservation purposes, but they never say
- 1:50:26Speaker 14: how much is enough.
- 1:50:28Speaker 4: And like I said, we.
- 1:50:29Speaker 14: Have counties that over 50% of their land, we have
- 1:50:32Speaker 14: townships over 80% of their land is owned by either
- 1:50:35Speaker 14: a government agency or a nonprofit funded by government.
- 1:50:38Speaker 5: You can't function.
- 1:50:39Speaker 14: You can't maintain the roads, police, all of that if
- 1:50:42Speaker 14: this continues. And we're paying for it. Like I said,
- 1:50:45Speaker 14: $ 20 to $ 25 million a year in what they call
- 1:50:48Speaker 14: C2P2 grants from our Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.
- 1:50:52Speaker 3: It's just sickening.
- 1:50:53Speaker 14: And then you've got the Game Commission and the state
- 1:50:56Speaker 14: and sometimes the federal government also out there buying up
- 1:50:58Speaker 14: private property, directly competing with the private sector. It's just
- 1:51:03Speaker 14: staggering what's going on over here.
- 1:51:05Speaker 4: But anyway, that's my thoughts for the day.
- 1:51:08Speaker 14: But these grants have to stop. We're $ 40 trillion in debt.
- 1:51:12Speaker 14: We can't be handing out money to anybody. Let the
- 1:51:15Speaker 14: free market system work. Everybody be on an even playing field.
- 1:51:19Speaker 1: Stop spending so damn much money. The government has got
- 1:51:22Speaker 1: to cut back dramatically.
- 1:51:25Speaker 4: Absolutely.
- 1:51:25Speaker 1: You know, like Reagan said, can you grow your way
- 1:51:29Speaker 1: out of it? potentially. We are at a number, when
- 1:51:33Speaker 1: we're into this trillions of dollars, our second biggest expense,
- 1:51:36Speaker 1: as I tell people, is just the interest on the debt.
- 1:51:40Speaker 1: So we take in roughly four and a half trillion
- 1:51:42Speaker 1: dollars a year in federal tax revenue, income tax revenue.
- 1:51:46Speaker 1: So think of how much of that money a year
- 1:51:50Speaker 1: is just out to pay interest, not to lower the obligation.
- 1:51:53Speaker 1: So if interest rates go up, if the Fed raises
- 1:51:56Speaker 1: interest rates, or even if they don't and we continue
- 1:51:58Speaker 1: to add trillions to it, it will soon overtake our
- 1:52:02Speaker 1: number one expense. Which is just, and what do you
- 1:52:05Speaker 1: get for it? Nothing.
- 1:52:07Speaker 8: Nothing.
- 1:52:08Speaker 1: You're paying interest. And you're strapping future generations with this debt.
- 1:52:13Speaker 1: And at some point, the crap's just got to hit
- 1:52:16Speaker 1: the fan. But I don't see over my years, and
- 1:52:18Speaker 1: I would say this to you, I don't see anyone
- 1:52:20Speaker 1: giving a damn about it and aggressively doing anything about it,
- 1:52:24Speaker 1: Democrats and Republicans. It's as though it doesn't exist. It's
- 1:52:27Speaker 1: as though it doesn't matter to any of them. They
- 1:52:30Speaker 1: keep talking about, we're going to get billions here and
- 1:52:33Speaker 1: billions there and billions here. And it's like, where's that
- 1:52:36Speaker 1: money coming from? We're borrowing it to give it away
- 1:52:39Speaker 1: to some other country? And at the same time, these
- 1:52:43Speaker 1: guys are saying, maybe we need to raise the retirement
- 1:52:46Speaker 1: age to 70 so you die before you collect it.
- 1:52:49Speaker 1: We're screwing our own people. That's this is insanity. You
- 1:52:53Speaker 1: have you have really been an eye opening call on
- 1:52:56Speaker 1: this that's going on. This is the first I've ever
- 1:52:58Speaker 1: heard of it. But it's lunacy what you're telling me
- 1:53:01Speaker 1: as far as what they're doing. It doesn't make a
- 1:53:02Speaker 1: damn bit of sense.
- 1:53:05Speaker 4: You got it.
- 1:53:06Speaker 1: All right. Thank you, man. Appreciate it. I mean, that
- 1:53:08Speaker 1: is just just like you say, how does it make
- 1:53:11Speaker 1: any sense to when did when did this we get
- 1:53:14Speaker 1: a taxpayer program to say we're going to build new
- 1:53:16Speaker 1: homes in in this in the city? And we're going
- 1:53:20Speaker 1: to pay this cost because this is what it costs
- 1:53:22Speaker 1: to build it. But we're not going to sell it
- 1:53:24Speaker 1: for that amount. We're going to sell it for way
- 1:53:27Speaker 1: less than that to somebody. So the taxpayers are, how
- 1:53:32Speaker 1: did that become a program?
- 1:53:36Speaker 18: Give your home an energy upgrade with new Triple U KBN.
- 1:53:50Speaker 1: All right, Ron, pay attention. NewsRadio 570, WKVN, Ron Ferb,
- 1:53:54Speaker 1: you're on the air.
- 1:53:56Speaker 6: Ron, I'll make it brief. He had an options trader
- 1:53:58Speaker 6: call and said that options guy would never buy call
- 1:54:03Speaker 6: options and never buy put options. I just want to
- 1:54:08Speaker 6: say to the guy, on the day SpaceX went public,
- 1:54:12Speaker 6: options guy left his name.
- 1:54:14Speaker 1: I don't want to go on.
- 1:54:15Speaker 23: I'm done.
- 1:54:16Speaker 1: I don't want to get into this. All right, I don't.
- 1:54:18Speaker 1: You're on the air.
- 1:54:21Speaker 3: Hello.
- 1:54:24Speaker 1: Hi, Ron. Oh, geez.
- 1:54:28Speaker 16: I didn't know if that was on there or not. Anyhow,
- 1:54:31Speaker 16: I just have to say I really like what Ted
- 1:54:34Speaker 16: the conservative said today. And anyhow, I see a lot
- 1:54:39Speaker 16: of people at the stores buying all kinds of junk
- 1:54:43Speaker 16: and all these restaurants open buying all kinds of food
- 1:54:47Speaker 16: that's very expensive. Maybe we need to get poor. to
- 1:54:52Speaker 16: appreciate more of what we do have. Anyhow, that's all
- 1:54:58Speaker 16: I wanted to say. Thank you, Ron.
- 1:55:01Speaker 1: Thank you for calling. She ratcheted me around her finger
- 1:55:05Speaker 1: with that sweet little old voice. I can't say anything bad.
- 1:55:11Speaker 1: You're on the air.
- 1:55:11Speaker 7: Ron?
- 1:55:13Speaker 1: Ron? Now, this is the exact opposite. That old, sweet,
- 1:55:17Speaker 1: little voice that that woman had to wrap around her finger,
- 1:55:20Speaker 1: and then the boss lady comes.
- 1:55:23Speaker 9: Rockin' up, she is so sweet.
- 1:55:26Speaker 1: And now the troublemaker. Yes, what is it that you
- 1:55:31Speaker 1: have to add?
- 1:55:31Speaker 9: I really do not have anything to add. I mean,
- 1:55:34Speaker 9: I thought all the polls were good today, and I
- 1:55:36Speaker 9: heard all of that non-profit. You know, I can't stand it.
- 1:55:40Speaker 9: There is no such thing as a non-profit.
- 1:55:42Speaker 4: Correct. Correct.
- 1:56:00Speaker 1: Correct. That is 100% correct. But you saw the Democrats
- 1:56:05Speaker 1: did what they could do to prevent Musk from continuing on.
- 1:56:10Speaker 1: They ran him out of Washington. They were successful in it.
- 1:56:14Speaker 9: Well, and I, oh yeah, absolutely. And every single state
- 1:56:17Speaker 9: needs Joe just like the federal government did.
- 1:56:22Speaker 1: You know. What's the latest in Poland Township?
- 1:56:26Speaker 9: Well, I'm I'm waiting to hear the outcome. I know
- 1:56:29Speaker 9: they were meeting today. I think it was today. I
- 1:56:33Speaker 9: think they were meeting today. I don't know. I think
- 1:56:36Speaker 9: they're going to have to do some planning together. Maybe
- 1:56:38Speaker 9: they're meeting with the accountant, the fiscal officer, and hopefully
- 1:56:47Speaker 9: they get it together and come up with a plan.
- 1:56:49Speaker 9: I don't know what reductions they're going to have to make.
- 1:56:51Speaker 9: It sounded like the county passed out some money. In
- 1:56:55Speaker 9: the past week, it looked like most of it went.
- 1:56:57Speaker 5: To the schools because.
- 1:57:01Speaker 9: Like, the bills aren't due. So the schools are all
- 1:57:04Speaker 9: freaking out. I know Poland Township obviously was waiting for
- 1:57:09Speaker 9: money to come in. I don't know if it ever
- 1:57:10Speaker 9: came in or not. But, you know, our county is
- 1:57:13Speaker 9: sitting on, I thought, the last time I looked, maybe
- 1:57:15Speaker 9: $ 50 million or something like that. So I think they
- 1:57:17Speaker 9: probably had enough to help close the gap. I don't know.
- 1:57:24Speaker 1: And they didn't make the deadline for their police levy,
- 1:57:27Speaker 1: did they?
- 1:57:28Speaker 5: No.
- 1:57:29Speaker 9: No, they didn't make the deadline, so that's a no-go.
- 1:57:32Speaker 9: You know, maybe they'll get it corrected. You know, and
- 1:57:37Speaker 9: all of those projections were based off the spending that
- 1:57:40Speaker 9: had already been realized up through, what is it now, August. So,
- 1:57:45Speaker 9: you know, next year, if they build a sound budget,
- 1:57:47Speaker 9: they may put them Maybe next year they wouldn't need one.
- 1:57:51Speaker 9: I mean, I don't know. So they're going to have
- 1:57:53Speaker 9: to sit down with PJ and get their ducks.
- 1:57:57Speaker 1: They very well might need one. Although I will say this. Yeah.
- 1:58:04Speaker 1: When you were talking about what your thoughts were about
- 1:58:06Speaker 1: Poland Township Police and all that kind of stuff.
- 1:58:08Speaker 29: Yeah.
- 1:58:10Speaker 1: Know, because of my son in that profession, it doesn't
- 1:58:12Speaker 1: work in that department or anything, he said that that
- 1:58:15Speaker 1: is not bad staffing that they have there, that probably
- 1:58:17Speaker 1: making those cuts would not be a good idea. He
- 1:58:23Speaker 1: actually looked at it and he said, I think they
- 1:58:25Speaker 1: have the right amount of people there, and I don't
- 1:58:26Speaker 1: think you can cut anybody, is what he said.
- 1:58:28Speaker 10: Wow.
- 1:58:30Speaker 9: Maybe the wrong numbers make sense. I'd have to see
- 1:58:38Speaker 9: the call.
- 1:58:39Speaker 1: There's a lot to policing. Policing is a deterrent, too.
- 1:58:41Speaker 1: It isn't always about how many calls you're there to deter.
- 1:58:44Speaker 1: But it's not a huge department. And you've got a chief,
- 1:58:49Speaker 1: you've got a detective, you've got... One or two guys
- 1:58:54Speaker 1: a shift. You've got vacation. You've got vacation. You've got call-offs.
- 1:58:58Speaker 1: You've got to have a staff, like he said, for
- 1:59:03Speaker 1: 24 hours a day, seven days a week. There's a
- 1:59:05Speaker 1: lot going on there, and it's not that big a
- 1:59:07Speaker 1: staff to cover that. I'm just saying my son said
- 1:59:10Speaker 1: he thought Poland Township had the right, was not overstaffed.
- 1:59:14Speaker 1: Stand by, boss lady. Stand by. I'll come back with
- 1:59:17Speaker 1: her and more. We're here until 6. Ron Verb from
- 1:59:19Speaker 1: the Kingdom of Mahoning. News Radio 570 WKVN. A man.
- 1:59:27Speaker 27: Who was out on bond after being charged with rape
- 1:59:29Speaker 27: earlier this year is now being accused of another sexual assault.
- 1:59:33Speaker 27: Whitehall police say Devon McBroom attacked a woman at a
- 1:59:36Speaker 27: UDF store on East Main Street early Tuesday morning. The
- 1:59:40Speaker 27: initial rape charges McBroom picked up in February are still
- 1:59:45Speaker 27: pending as well. Officers say he is back in custody. Meantime,
- 1:59:49Speaker 27: a suspect in custody after the fatal shooting of a
- 1:59:51Speaker 27: man behind a Cleveland auto shop. 44-year-old Aaron Forster was
- 1:59:55Speaker 27: found shot near East 55th and Lexington Avenue.
- 1:59:58Speaker 1: He later died at the hospital.
- 1:59:59Speaker 27: 28-year-old Matthew Cooperwood has been arrested on a murder charge.
- 2:00:03Speaker 27: Two people are in custody after a double shooting yesterday
- 2:00:05Speaker 27: afternoon in the Cincinnati neighborhood of Avondale. The incident happened
- 2:00:09Speaker 27: near Purdue Street and Forest Avenue, and the victims survived
- 2:00:11Speaker 27: the shootings and remain in the hospital.
- 2:00:14Speaker 1: I'm Brady Haas.

- 2:00:27Speaker 2: Now, Ron Verb. On NewsRadio 570 WKBN. All right. Back
- 2:00:34Speaker 2: to NewsRadio 570 WKBN. So that was my comment to you,
- 2:00:38Speaker 2: boss lady.
- 2:00:40Speaker 9: Yes, but all I got to say is this. We
- 2:00:44Speaker 9: are four states today in Poland with the additional police
- 2:00:47Speaker 9: officers than we were 10 years ago, with less.
- 2:00:50Speaker 1: How many do you need on day shift when virtually
- 2:00:57Speaker 1: nothing happens?
- 2:00:58Speaker 9: And listen to me when I tell you. You want
- 2:01:00Speaker 9: to know what the biggest deterrent is in Poland?
- 2:01:03Speaker 8: You?
- 2:01:06Speaker 1: Your phone is breaking up on me. Your quality is
- 2:01:08Speaker 1: just god-awful.
- 2:01:11Speaker 9: That's because I'm on my way to bowling.
- 2:01:13Speaker 1: To what?
- 2:01:13Speaker 9: To bowling.
- 2:01:16Speaker 1: Wait a minute. Let me get this straight.
- 2:01:20Speaker 9: I shouldn't have told you.
- 2:01:22Speaker 1: No, no, no, no, no. Forget everything we were talking about. You,
- 2:01:27Speaker 1: the boss lady tonight, this is your Wednesday night. What
- 2:01:31Speaker 1: are you like, Lenny?
- 2:01:32Speaker 9: I'm in bowling league. And then in about four weeks,
- 2:01:35Speaker 9: I switch to Thursday night.
- 2:01:36Speaker 1: What are you, you going with Lenny and Squiggy from?
- 2:01:40Speaker 9: No, I throw the balls hard after I get done
- 2:01:42Speaker 9: off the call with you.
- 2:01:43Speaker 1: What's your average?
- 2:01:48Speaker 15: Oh, I'm stuck, Ron.
- 2:01:49Speaker 9: I never had a lesson. It's only my second year.
- 2:01:52Speaker 9: Like a 135, I think. Terrible. But I can bowl
- 2:01:57Speaker 9: a 165 one game and then like a 110 the next. So,
- 2:02:00Speaker 9: you know, I'm inconsistent.
- 2:02:01Speaker 4: I choke. I choke.
- 2:02:02Speaker 9: And I can't even stand it.
- 2:02:04Speaker 1: You've taken up bowling last year?
- 2:02:07Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 2:02:09Speaker 1: I mean, how did this come up? Was this your
- 2:02:12Speaker 1: husband talking?
- 2:02:13Speaker 9: No, my girlfriend, one of my best friends from high school.
- 2:02:15Speaker 9: We've been friends for 30 years.
- 2:02:17Speaker 4: He got me roped into.
- 2:02:19Speaker 9: This bowling thing, and now I actually like it.
- 2:02:21Speaker 3: It's fun.
- 2:02:22Speaker 1: So do you have your own shoes?
- 2:02:25Speaker 28: Yes, of course.
- 2:02:26Speaker 9: They're cute, too. And I got a cute ball that
- 2:02:29Speaker 9: smells like black cherry.
- 2:02:32Speaker 1: Okay, so you got your own bag, your own ball.
- 2:02:34Speaker 1: Do you have your lettered shirt on the back, you know,
- 2:02:36Speaker 1: with your team on it?
- 2:02:37Speaker 4: Oh, no.
- 2:02:38Speaker 9: Oh, no, I ain't doing all that.
- 2:02:40Speaker 1: Why not?
- 2:02:41Speaker 4: But I got to have my own.
- 2:02:42Speaker 9: Ball, and I thought of using somebody else's shoes. Makes me..
- 2:02:46Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 2:02:46Speaker 7: So..
- 2:02:49Speaker 1: Okay, so like when you walk into the lanes, do
- 2:02:53Speaker 1: you look like you mean business? I mean, do you
- 2:02:55Speaker 1: look like..
- 2:02:56Speaker 9: No, we're usually just... No, I'm laughing usually.
- 2:03:00Speaker 1: Well, this is a competition. This is a bowling league.
- 2:03:04Speaker 9: No, we whisper a lot to each other. Like, man,
- 2:03:07Speaker 9: we better pick it up here. You know, we say
- 2:03:09Speaker 9: some stuff, but the women are so friendly. We need
- 2:03:11Speaker 9: to be like that.
- 2:03:13Speaker 1: Are you able to pick off a spare?
- 2:03:16Speaker 4: Oh, yeah.
- 2:03:17Speaker 9: Oh, yeah.
- 2:03:17Speaker 4: Absolutely.
- 2:03:18Speaker 1: Are you working on your game at all?
- 2:03:21Speaker 9: Of course I am. Yes. I want to get a lesson.
- 2:03:23Speaker 9: So if any of y'all out there are bowling instructors.
- 2:03:25Speaker 1: Do you go practice? Why don't you say with your
- 2:03:28Speaker 1: husband on the weekend, hey, let's go bowling. Have you
- 2:03:31Speaker 1: ever approached him?
- 2:03:33Speaker 4: Oh, yeah.
- 2:03:33Speaker 9: We go bowling on the weekend.
- 2:03:35Speaker 1: And does he?
- 2:03:36Speaker 4: Yeah, we go.
- 2:03:37Speaker 9: We probably go five times this summer.
- 2:03:39Speaker 4: Mm-hmm.
- 2:03:40Speaker 1: Do you often go across the line where it says, oh,
- 2:03:43Speaker 1: you slid too far?
- 2:03:44Speaker 8: No.
- 2:03:45Speaker 9: Come on, that's for rookies. I do have one year
- 2:03:48Speaker 9: under my belt.
- 2:03:49Speaker 1: When was the last time you got a strike?
- 2:03:53Speaker 9: Oh, every, I mean, last time I probably had five
- 2:03:56Speaker 9: strikes last game. Last week, I bowled three games a week.
- 2:04:00Speaker 1: Okay, now I'm going to check your.
- 2:04:01Speaker 5: Five in one game.
- 2:04:02Speaker 1: I'm going to check your.
- 2:04:03Speaker 9: Four in one game and three spares.
- 2:04:05Speaker 1: I'm going to check your bowling knowledge. I'm going to
- 2:04:07Speaker 1: see how much you know. Who's Dick Weber?
- 2:04:09Speaker 4: Dick Weber.
- 2:04:11Speaker 9: I have no idea who that is.
- 2:04:13Speaker 1: You have no idea?
- 2:04:14Speaker 9: No, I don't know.
- 2:04:16Speaker 5: I don't know who he is.
- 2:04:17Speaker 9: Is he good at bowler?
- 2:04:19Speaker 1: So you have absolutely no idea. You call yourself a bowler.
- 2:04:23Speaker 1: I don't call.
- 2:04:24Speaker 9: Myself a bowler at all. I told you I suck.
- 2:04:28Speaker 9: I'm not very good. It's just fun, though. And I
- 2:04:31Speaker 9: am super competitive, so I don't like to lose. But,
- 2:04:33Speaker 9: I mean, this has humbled me.
- 2:04:35Speaker 1: He's probably, Dick Weber, you know, when I think about it,
- 2:04:37Speaker 1: is probably one of the most famous bowlers of all time.
- 2:04:41Speaker 9: Oh, I don't know any about that, no.
- 2:04:45Speaker 1: I mean, you know, shouldn't you be studying? Shouldn't you
- 2:04:47Speaker 1: be reading a book? You know, if Dick Weber wrote
- 2:04:49Speaker 1: a book, you know, how to roll a strike and
- 2:04:54Speaker 1: all that kind of stuff?
- 2:04:56Speaker 9: Well, I mean, I'm taking up quite a bit, I
- 2:04:58Speaker 9: will tell you.
- 2:04:59Speaker 1: I think this is more of a social event for
- 2:05:01Speaker 1: you than actually taking it as a killer sport. You're
- 2:05:05Speaker 1: in a league. The league is depending on you.
- 2:05:09Speaker 9: Well, I mean, you know, we were, okay, listen, we
- 2:05:12Speaker 9: were in third place. So just so you know. And
- 2:05:15Speaker 9: then we were probably, I don't know if we're fourth
- 2:05:17Speaker 9: place right now.
- 2:05:18Speaker 1: And you know what? That's only three spots out of
- 2:05:21Speaker 1: being number one.
- 2:05:23Speaker 9: So you're the first or last, Bobby?
- 2:05:27Speaker 4: Right.
- 2:05:27Speaker 1: Doesn't matter. Second is still losing.
- 2:05:30Speaker 9: Now, if this was like a sport that I played
- 2:05:32Speaker 9: in high school, I would totally agree with you because.
- 2:05:34Speaker 1: I was, Now, are you drinking and eating during this?
- 2:05:40Speaker 9: I don't drink. No, I don't drink. I mean, listen
- 2:05:44Speaker 9: to me.
- 2:05:44Speaker 4: I'm going to tell you something.
- 2:05:45Speaker 9: Want to know a secret? There are some women there
- 2:05:47Speaker 9: that are in their 70s, and they have a ball.
- 2:05:50Speaker 9: And let me tell you, they probably got four or
- 2:05:53Speaker 9: five down by the end, and they bowl better.
- 2:05:58Speaker 1: So are you eating barbecue chips?
- 2:06:01Speaker 9: No, I don't eat barbecue chips. We like fried mushrooms,
- 2:06:05Speaker 9: and once in a while.
- 2:06:05Speaker 1: We'll get those. Oh, my God. That's it? You go
- 2:06:10Speaker 1: to a bowling alley and you get fried mushrooms?
- 2:06:13Speaker 7: I know.
- 2:06:14Speaker 9: It's pretty gross, isn't it?
- 2:06:16Speaker 1: And do you at least have a Pepsi?
- 2:06:19Speaker 9: Yeah, I get Diet Coke. Coke Zero, they don't have
- 2:06:23Speaker 9: my Coke Zero on.
- 2:06:24Speaker 1: You know that's my choice.
- 2:06:25Speaker 9: That's my type of choice.
- 2:06:27Speaker 1: You get a Diet Coke and some mushrooms?
- 2:06:30Speaker 9: Yes, they're delicious. And they're fried. So, I mean, if
- 2:06:33Speaker 9: there's something wrong with them, they're fried. It kills everything.
- 2:06:39Speaker 1: Folks, this is just shocking to me. I shouldn't have
- 2:06:42Speaker 1: told you. I shouldn't even have told you. I'm sure
- 2:06:43Speaker 1: it's shocking to all of you that this unknown side
- 2:06:47Speaker 1: of the boss lady has come out that she's going
- 2:06:51Speaker 1: bowling tonight. When I think of bowling, guys, do you
- 2:06:55Speaker 1: remember that show? What was the show with Lenny and Squiggy?
- 2:06:59Speaker 1: What the hell was the name of that show?
- 2:07:00Speaker 4: Laverne and Shirley.
- 2:07:01Speaker 1: Yes. You're like Laverne. Which one are you? Laverne or Shirley?
- 2:07:07Speaker 9: Can I be neither?
- 2:07:09Speaker 4: No.
- 2:07:10Speaker 1: I don't want to pick. No, you're going bowling. You're
- 2:07:13Speaker 1: living the life. You got to pick it. And you
- 2:07:19Speaker 1: call yourself a bowler.
- 2:07:20Speaker 15: I will say.
- 2:07:22Speaker 9: I don't call myself anything.
- 2:07:24Speaker 1: But listen, is this better than bingo?
- 2:07:26Speaker 9: What if I was going to bingo? This is better
- 2:07:29Speaker 9: than that.
- 2:07:30Speaker 1: Well, you'll be going to bingo. It's just a matter
- 2:07:33Speaker 1: of time. Just give it time. You'll be going to bingo,
- 2:07:36Speaker 1: and you don't even know who Dick Weber is. I mean,
- 2:07:38Speaker 1: this is something. Now, how did you approach your husband
- 2:07:41Speaker 1: the first time to say, let's go bowling? Did he
- 2:07:44Speaker 1: go along willingly?
- 2:07:45Speaker 22: Oh, yeah.
- 2:07:47Speaker 9: We went when we were together. I mean, we've gone
- 2:07:49Speaker 9: together before all this bowling league set up. You know, yeah,
- 2:07:52Speaker 9: we've gone.
- 2:07:53Speaker 1: I think I'm under the impression, are you wearing the
- 2:07:56Speaker 1: pants in that relationship?
- 2:07:58Speaker 9: Oh, my God.
- 2:07:59Speaker 1: Right. Yes.
- 2:08:01Speaker 9: Don't be, I can't, you know, I can't be saying
- 2:08:03Speaker 9: stuff on air. I can't, I can't give up all my,
- 2:08:09Speaker 9: but you know, wait, today is my anniversary.
- 2:08:11Speaker 1: How many blissful years?
- 2:08:13Speaker 8: 26.
- 2:08:13Speaker 6: 26?
- 2:08:13Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 2:08:13Speaker 26: Yeah.
- 2:08:21Speaker 1: And are you in as much love today as you
- 2:08:25Speaker 1: were from day one, or has it grown?
- 2:08:28Speaker 9: Oh, I think it's grown even more, yeah, absolutely.
- 2:08:34Speaker 1: What is there after 26 years that when you look
- 2:08:39Speaker 1: at that man that you married that makes you say, God,
- 2:08:43Speaker 1: this has been fantastic?
- 2:08:47Speaker 9: Oh, I think, you know, we're great partners. with everything.
- 2:08:52Speaker 1: I mean, I mean, because just from a listener.
- 2:08:55Speaker 9: He can handle me.
- 2:08:56Speaker 10: Right.
- 2:08:56Speaker 1: Just from a listener standpoint. Oh yeah. That's exactly what
- 2:09:00Speaker 1: I was going to say. From a listener standpoint, you
- 2:09:03Speaker 1: would be a handful. You would absolutely be a handful.
- 2:09:06Speaker 1: It takes a special man like him. He said, you know,
- 2:09:09Speaker 1: he's seen, I've seen pictures. He's like a man's man.
- 2:09:12Speaker 1: Would you, would you describe him as that?
- 2:09:14Speaker 9: Oh, everybody loves him.
- 2:09:16Speaker 30: Yes, absolutely.
- 2:09:17Speaker 1: I mean, he's a handsome guy. He's, Looks like he's
- 2:09:21Speaker 1: in good shape and that kind of stuff. And, you know,
- 2:09:26Speaker 1: that's the type of guy that I can't picture you
- 2:09:29Speaker 1: walking all over him. I picture him saying at some point, listen,
- 2:09:33Speaker 1: boss lady.
- 2:09:34Speaker 9: You know, he's very big. He's laid back. I don't
- 2:09:36Speaker 9: really have to walk all over him because he's really
- 2:09:39Speaker 9: laid back. He doesn't really care. So, I mean, if
- 2:09:41Speaker 9: I want to do something, we do it. I earn
- 2:09:46Speaker 9: my keep, so there's that, right? So because I'm earning
- 2:09:49Speaker 9: my keep, he doesn't tell me no.
- 2:09:51Speaker 1: So let's see. So you guys sometimes go bowling. Do
- 2:09:55Speaker 1: you ever stray and go to a drive-in movie?
- 2:09:59Speaker 9: We used to always go. Listen, this is the first
- 2:10:01Speaker 9: summer that we did not at least see three drive-in
- 2:10:04Speaker 9: movies so far.
- 2:10:06Speaker 22: I don't know.
- 2:10:06Speaker 9: This summer has been so funky.
- 2:10:09Speaker 1: Mm-hmm.
- 2:10:10Speaker 9: This weather has been really funky. I was just telling
- 2:10:12Speaker 9: that to my friend Matt the other day. It's just
- 2:10:15Speaker 9: been a really weird summer.
- 2:10:17Speaker 1: All right. Now, tell me about, is today your anniversary?
- 2:10:24Speaker 9: Today is, yeah.
- 2:10:25Speaker 1: So let me get this straight. I just want to
- 2:10:27Speaker 1: get this in my head.
- 2:10:28Speaker 7: I'm bowling.
- 2:10:28Speaker 9: I know what you're going to say.
- 2:10:30Speaker 1: Well, let me say it. What are you going to
- 2:10:33Speaker 1: do to celebrate your anniversary? You're going bowling.
- 2:10:36Speaker 9: Yeah, I know, but it is our league night, and
- 2:10:39Speaker 9: it's our last night, so I have to be there tonight.
- 2:10:42Speaker 9: But we're going to go do something on the weekend.
- 2:10:44Speaker 9: We normally always go away. Um, every year we go away,
- 2:10:47Speaker 9: we do, we do something. But this year, uh, we
- 2:10:50Speaker 9: just took the kids to Florida the last weekend. We
- 2:10:52Speaker 9: were in Italy. We're whatever.
- 2:10:54Speaker 1: So we'll, uh, you took the kids to Florida. What'd
- 2:10:58Speaker 1: you do in Florida?
- 2:11:00Speaker 9: All right.
- 2:11:03Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 2:11:04Speaker 9: It's hard with both kids. Cause they're older.
- 2:11:08Speaker 1: Shouldn't there be some, uh, shouldn't you take out to
- 2:11:11Speaker 1: eat for your anniversary?
- 2:11:13Speaker 6: Oh, absolutely.
- 2:11:14Speaker 9: We'll do something this weekend. Yeah, we're going to do
- 2:11:18Speaker 9: something this weekend.
- 2:11:19Speaker 1: What do you think? You'll take you to Red Recon?
- 2:11:23Speaker 29: Hell no.
- 2:11:24Speaker 9: Listen, but I love, don't be, do not be, don't
- 2:11:27Speaker 9: dog on Red Recon.
- 2:11:29Speaker 1: I'm not. I'm just, I'm speculating where you're going for
- 2:11:32Speaker 1: your anniversary dinner.
- 2:11:34Speaker 9: We'll go somewhere nice. I don't know where we'll go,
- 2:11:36Speaker 9: but we'll go somewhere nice. A lot of good places.
- 2:11:39Speaker 1: Okay, so you want to go to somewhere nice, like what,
- 2:11:41Speaker 1: Cracker Barrel?
- 2:11:43Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 2:11:44Speaker 9: No Cracker Barrel. Ron, I am not a chain.
- 2:11:47Speaker 1: Listen, listen, don't get this snooty attitude with me.
- 2:11:52Speaker 9: You still eat at Olive Garden over there. Don't tell me.
- 2:11:55Speaker 1: Don't you go getting snooty with me. You're the one
- 2:11:57Speaker 1: going bowling, all right? So do you think this weekend
- 2:12:00Speaker 1: where you'd be taking it, Cracker Barrel or Perkins?
- 2:12:04Speaker 9: No, what's the name of that place at Warren Country Club?
- 2:12:09Speaker 9: I can't remember that restaurant that's in there.
- 2:12:11Speaker 1: Okay. What about Scaccetti's? Or no, what's it called? Nicolini's.
- 2:12:16Speaker 9: I like Nicolini's. It's good.
- 2:12:20Speaker 1: It's all right. There's one in Austintown and one over
- 2:12:24Speaker 1: there in Canfield.
- 2:12:27Speaker 22: Yeah.
- 2:12:28Speaker 1: I mean, they got good food.
- 2:12:31Speaker 9: I like steamers a lot, too. Have you been to
- 2:12:33Speaker 9: a steamer? You don't like seafood. You've got a weird palate.
- 2:12:36Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 2:12:37Speaker 1: No, I absolutely... I'm not going to eat a lobster,
- 2:12:39Speaker 1: and I'm not going to have crab or none of
- 2:12:41Speaker 1: that stuff. Absolutely not. It's disgusting.
- 2:12:44Speaker 9: You're like chicken fingers and... It's in French fries. Mac
- 2:12:48Speaker 9: and cheese for you.
- 2:12:50Speaker 1: I remember when I had my anniversary and I said
- 2:12:53Speaker 1: to my wife, I said, let's go. I'm taking you.
- 2:12:56Speaker 1: And it was great. I mean, it was very romantic.
- 2:12:58Speaker 1: And I want you to listen to this because I
- 2:13:00Speaker 1: said to my wife, I said, it's our anniversary. I
- 2:13:03Speaker 1: want to take you out. I'm going to take you
- 2:13:05Speaker 1: out to where they prepare the food right in front
- 2:13:08Speaker 1: of you. And she said, God, am I looking forward
- 2:13:10Speaker 1: to this? And when we arrived at Subway and they were...
- 2:13:16Speaker 1: She was a little bit disappointed. She thought..
- 2:13:18Speaker 3: Oh, get out of here.
- 2:13:20Speaker 9: You didn't take her to Subway.
- 2:13:22Speaker 1: Well, I said they would be preparing the food right
- 2:13:24Speaker 1: in front of you. She must have thought..
- 2:13:27Speaker 9: There's nothing wrong with a Subway sandwich.
- 2:13:30Speaker 4: You're right.
- 2:13:30Speaker 9: I forget which one I used to get.
- 2:13:32Speaker 1: I used to get... I took her to the... I
- 2:13:38Speaker 1: took her to the chicken place over there on 224.
- 2:13:40Speaker 9: What's... Chicken place.
- 2:13:43Speaker 1: Yeah, what's the name of that place with the chicken finger? Chick-fil-A? No,
- 2:13:47Speaker 1: the other one.
- 2:13:51Speaker 9: Oh, I can picture it. What the heck's the name
- 2:13:53Speaker 9: of that place? I know what you're talking about, though.
- 2:13:55Speaker 1: Yeah, over there by... You know what?
- 2:13:57Speaker 9: Papa Gigi's is good right next to there. And I
- 2:13:59Speaker 9: don't like very many people's Italian food at all, but
- 2:14:03Speaker 9: Papa Gigi's actually has decent sauce.
- 2:14:07Speaker 1: What did I have?
- 2:14:08Speaker 14: Let's see here.
- 2:14:11Speaker 1: I was at the Medina County Fair over the weekend
- 2:14:13Speaker 1: because I can't get enough fair, and I had some
- 2:14:16Speaker 1: great Italian food and meatballs.
- 2:14:20Speaker 9: Did you go to the Italian Fest downtown? I was
- 2:14:23Speaker 9: there for a little bit.
- 2:14:24Speaker 1: No, no. Normally I do, but I didn't.
- 2:14:28Speaker 9: I got a bourgeois bowl, and it was delicious. That
- 2:14:32Speaker 9: was tasty.
- 2:14:33Speaker 10: Yeah, yeah.
- 2:14:34Speaker 1: I didn't go. That was my cricket night. I think
- 2:14:36Speaker 1: I'm in a cricket league. I am just trying to
- 2:14:43Speaker 1: picture this, folks. Here this cost-saving government watchdog woman who's
- 2:14:51Speaker 1: a successful businesswoman and on top of her game when
- 2:14:54Speaker 1: it comes to looking at what's going on in government.
- 2:14:57Speaker 1: We talk about, boy, she'd be great if she ran
- 2:14:59Speaker 1: for office. And here she is going bowling. It's like
- 2:15:04Speaker 1: everything just all of a sudden changed.
- 2:15:09Speaker 9: Oh, come on now. Listen, but I do want to
- 2:15:13Speaker 9: say you've been getting beat up a little bit about your,
- 2:15:15Speaker 9: you've been a little anti-Trump.
- 2:15:16Speaker 1: Raising, raising canes.
- 2:15:19Speaker 9: Raising canes.
- 2:15:20Speaker 30: Yep.
- 2:15:20Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 2:15:21Speaker 9: You've been getting beat up a little bit about Trump.
- 2:15:23Speaker 9: You've been, you've been a little fired up. And I
- 2:15:25Speaker 9: just want to tell you, I'm nervous too, but I
- 2:15:29Speaker 9: am not to the point where you are. I think
- 2:15:33Speaker 9: you've got some callers that are..
- 2:15:37Speaker 1: Well, you're jet-setting off all the time. You're flying to Italy.
- 2:15:40Speaker 1: You're flying to Florida. I mean, you know, people like
- 2:15:43Speaker 1: you aren't worried about the economy.
- 2:15:45Speaker 23: I don't know.
- 2:15:46Speaker 4: Yes, I am.
- 2:15:47Speaker 9: What do you mean, no, I'm not? And I'm going
- 2:15:49Speaker 9: to tell you, if they raise the Social Security age,
- 2:15:52Speaker 9: you're going to see me... Listen, I'm going to tell you,
- 2:15:56Speaker 9: that will royally enrage me. Nothing will make me angrier
- 2:16:01Speaker 9: than that.
- 2:16:01Speaker 1: Now, here's my next question. When you and Mr. Boss
- 2:16:05Speaker 1: Lady sit down to watch a TV show together, what
- 2:16:09Speaker 1: do you watch?
- 2:16:10Speaker 4: Oh, we watch... Right now, what are we watching? Stylo.
- 2:16:18Speaker 9: We watch Suits.
- 2:16:20Speaker 28: I mean, we flew through that.
- 2:16:21Speaker 9: I mean, Game of Thrones. The new one, The House
- 2:16:25Speaker 9: of Dragons. We watched that.
- 2:16:28Speaker 29: Off the card, those kind of things.
- 2:16:32Speaker 1: Well, this is all streaming stuff, right? I mean..
- 2:16:35Speaker 9: Yeah, you know, Amazon Prime or Netflix or Peacock.
- 2:16:41Speaker 1: You can't give me like a normal show on normal TV.
- 2:16:45Speaker 9: No, because honestly, because most of them are sitcoms and
- 2:16:49Speaker 9: I don't find them funny. You have to be really
- 2:16:52Speaker 9: funny to make me laugh. Usually I don't like that
- 2:16:56Speaker 9: slapstick comedy.
- 2:16:57Speaker 1: How about Seinfeld? Did you think Seinfeld was funny?
- 2:17:02Speaker 28: Really?
- 2:17:02Speaker 14: Yeah.
- 2:17:03Speaker 9: Sometimes I heard laugh, but.
- 2:17:05Speaker 1: Did you bring any talcum to prepare for bowling and stuff?
- 2:17:09Speaker 6: I mean.
- 2:17:10Speaker 9: No, I don't got any talcum. Oh, my God.
- 2:17:14Speaker 1: Do you have like a wrist sweatband? All right, boss lady.
- 2:17:18Speaker 1: I hope you roll a 300. Talk to you later.
- 2:17:23Speaker 25: What more than just awareness for your business?
- 2:17:25Speaker 1: Talk Station 570 WKBN. All right, you're on the air.
- 2:17:30Speaker 14: Hello, Ron.
- 2:17:33Speaker 10: Yes.
- 2:17:36Speaker 4: I go back all the way to alligator.
- 2:17:38Speaker 1: Adverb from Austin Town.
- 2:17:42Speaker 4: Yes.
- 2:17:42Speaker 1: When you took over for Steve Hook. Yes.
- 2:17:45Speaker 29: So that's how far I go back.
- 2:17:47Speaker 9: And Karen from..
- 2:17:51Speaker 29: Karen the business woman, business lady, I call her Karen,
- 2:17:56Speaker 29: I think she's a Karen, but I think there's more
- 2:18:00Speaker 29: things involved in politics The advertisements, they're spending millions, $ 30 million,
- 2:18:09Speaker 29: $ 40 million on all I hear is John Husted.
- 2:18:13Speaker 5: I hear Sherrod Brown.
- 2:18:16Speaker 14: All this stuff is going on and on.
- 2:18:19Speaker 29: What better place could that money be placed somewhere else?
- 2:18:27Speaker 1: As far as their advertising for their campaigns?
- 2:18:30Speaker 6: Yes.
- 2:18:32Speaker 14: Yeah, why shouldn't you just go out and say, you
- 2:18:36Speaker 14: know what, shake people's hands and say, you know what,
- 2:18:38Speaker 14: vote for the best person?
- 2:18:40Speaker 29: I know it hurts to hurt on business.
- 2:18:43Speaker 1: No, because for a number of reasons. See, you can't.
- 2:18:47Speaker 1: You can't shake that many hands. I mean, what's the
- 2:18:50Speaker 1: point of it? Their point is to try to get
- 2:18:52Speaker 1: their message out to as many people as they possibly can,
- 2:18:55Speaker 1: and that's why they call it mass media, and that's
- 2:18:58Speaker 1: why they spend money on those ads, because you can't
- 2:19:03Speaker 1: shake everybody's hand. I mean, if you're running for governor
- 2:19:06Speaker 1: in Ohio or senator, my God, it'd be ridiculous.
- 2:19:10Speaker 14: Well, we have the Internet.
- 2:19:13Speaker 1: So?
- 2:19:14Speaker 5: It's worldwide.
- 2:19:15Speaker 2: It's everywhere.
- 2:19:17Speaker 15: And it's free.
- 2:19:19Speaker 1: Not necessarily. A lot of people who do stuff on
- 2:19:23Speaker 1: the Internet do it on Facebook. It's very inexpensive, but
- 2:19:26Speaker 1: it's also not very effective. I mean, from a lot
- 2:19:29Speaker 1: of the research that we get here, it's not very effective.
- 2:19:33Speaker 1: The best way to this date to still reach the
- 2:19:37Speaker 1: largest amount of people will always be terrestrial television and radio, period.
- 2:19:42Speaker 1: And there's a cost to that.
- 2:19:44Speaker 29: I understand that there's a cost to it.
- 2:19:46Speaker 14: And that's part of doing business.
- 2:19:48Speaker 15: But Sherrod Brown's been sitting there for 32 years, and
- 2:19:52Speaker 15: he's still running on the same thing.
- 2:19:55Speaker 14: And all I hear is back and forth, back and forth.
- 2:19:58Speaker 1: Well, okay, but that doesn't mean you have to vote
- 2:20:01Speaker 1: for him. You're smart enough to figure that out. I'm
- 2:20:03Speaker 1: not going to vote for him. But there are people that..
- 2:20:06Speaker 4: Oh, I'm not. I'm not either.
- 2:20:07Speaker 1: Well, there's people that..
- 2:20:08Speaker 29: But I just get tired of seeing it and hearing it. Like,
- 2:20:11Speaker 29: everybody's like, oh, this person did this.
- 2:20:14Speaker 5: Amy Acton did that.
- 2:20:15Speaker 10: Everybody's doing this.
- 2:20:16Speaker 14: It's a smear campaign.
- 2:20:19Speaker 32: Everybody that's campaigning is trying to sell something that they
- 2:20:27Speaker 32: are not true to.
- 2:20:29Speaker 1: Well, now they're trying to say vote for me as
- 2:20:31Speaker 1: opposed to the other guy. All right, I'm running out
- 2:20:32Speaker 1: of time. Thanks. You're on the air.
- 2:20:35Speaker 4: Hey, Gron, how you doing?
- 2:20:36Speaker 1: I'm running short on time. Make your point. Good to
- 2:20:38Speaker 1: hear your voice.
- 2:20:40Speaker 4: All right.
- 2:20:41Speaker 5: Can you go for a good news story?
- 2:20:43Speaker 6: Yes.
- 2:20:44Speaker 32: I saw a truck I wanted to look at, so
- 2:20:46Speaker 32: I went and looked at it. It was at Stadium GM.
- 2:20:49Speaker 1: Yes.
- 2:20:50Speaker 3: I had the.
- 2:20:51Speaker 5: Best experience with a car dealer I ever had. I
- 2:20:53Speaker 5: don't like car dealers, Rod.
- 2:20:56Speaker 1: Zero pressure. That's why I go there, and that's why
- 2:20:58Speaker 1: we've done business there, and that's why I'm proud to
- 2:21:00Speaker 1: endorse them.
- 2:21:02Speaker 32: And a matter of fact, I mentioned that to him.
- 2:21:04Speaker 32: I was talking to the young father saying, I know
- 2:21:06Speaker 32: the guy on the radio talks about this. He used
- 2:21:08Speaker 32: to broadcast there. He said, hold on a minute. He
- 2:21:11Speaker 32: picked up my paperwork, went away. And when he came back,
- 2:21:14Speaker 32: he said, I got you a $ 500 discount for mentioning
- 2:21:16Speaker 32: that radio station.
- 2:21:19Speaker 1: Call me tomorrow with some more details. I'm out of time.
- 2:21:21Speaker 1: Will you do that? I want to hear about it.
