- 0:00Speaker 1: And now move the sticks with Daniel Jeremiah and Bucky Brooks.
- 0:06Speaker 2: What's up everybody? Welcome to move the sticks, DJ, Bucky
- 0:10Speaker 2: Rhett with you. I am if you're watching this, you
- 0:12Speaker 2: can see I am coming to you live from the
- 0:15Speaker 2: Marriott Courtyard League sponsor in uh in Tuscalousha Alofam on a.
- 0:19Speaker 3: Little bit of a road trip here. How about the wal.
- 0:22Speaker 2: Art back here by the way though, Huh, guys, you
- 0:24Speaker 2: like that we're classing it up a little bit here. Yeah,
- 0:27Speaker 2: So it's nice. We've got we've got a lot of
- 0:28Speaker 2: groundcover day. We're gonna go through a bunch of games.
- 0:31Speaker 2: But I do want to start out with a sad
- 0:33Speaker 2: state of affairs, and that is the situation with Bucky
- 0:37Speaker 2: and my Alma matters.
- 0:38Speaker 3: It is.
- 0:38Speaker 2: Was a not good week. It was not a good week.
- 0:40Speaker 2: I was up there in Boone for the first time
- 0:42Speaker 2: in forever. South Alabama put it on us. I O
- 0:44Speaker 2: Jim Naggy, the executive director of the recent Senior Bowl
- 0:47Speaker 2: at dinner because he was he was in on the
- 0:49Speaker 2: South Alabama action. So but yeah, he ran all over him.
- 0:53Speaker 2: And then as uh as tough as that was for me,
- 0:56Speaker 2: feeling bad for myself wallowing in that I happened to
- 0:59Speaker 2: see US score. I thought that basketball season had started
- 1:02Speaker 2: in Chapel Hill, and apparently it isn't. That was a
- 1:04Speaker 2: football game, and that was James Madison. Bucky, you gave
- 1:07Speaker 2: up a seventy burger to James Madison.
- 1:10Speaker 1: Oh, dj okay. So, like I got to tell you one,
- 1:13Speaker 1: I knew the Targets were playing, but I thought it
- 1:15Speaker 1: was a little later. So when I got to turn
- 1:17Speaker 1: on the game, I see fifty three to whatever. But
- 1:21Speaker 1: it's like the second quarter, and I'm like, there's no
- 1:25Speaker 1: way that. I'm like, that must be a glitch on
- 1:29Speaker 1: the lower third. There's no way that this is like
- 1:32Speaker 1: the score. Then they replayed the highlights and the quarterback
- 1:36Speaker 1: is going bananas, and yeah, it was a tough day.
- 1:40Speaker 1: And you know, I thought about Rhett in that instance,
- 1:44Speaker 1: because I know Indiana's coach had kind of come from JMBU,
- 1:48Speaker 1: and I was like, I thought he took I thought
- 1:49Speaker 1: he took all these people with him. And I'm trying
- 1:51Speaker 1: to figure out why jam he is over here busting
- 1:53Speaker 1: the clock on my whtakals who had beaten the forty
- 1:57Speaker 1: nine ers.
- 1:58Speaker 4: That it just didn't make sense.
- 2:03Speaker 1: Based on Yeah, I couldn't understand what was going on.
- 2:07Speaker 5: I think it was a Holy Cross's coach that ended
- 2:10Speaker 5: up taking the job at James Madison's a really good coach,
- 2:12Speaker 5: I mean, and that programs and you know had been
- 2:15Speaker 5: in some real good shape obviously. But yeah, I don't
- 2:17Speaker 5: really know what you guys are talking about with them.
- 2:19Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, I know.
- 2:22Speaker 3: I use the football I use a football school.
- 2:24Speaker 2: I know, I know, But this is this this Al'm
- 2:26Speaker 2: going to make it up to those because I think
- 2:27Speaker 2: there's a lot of crossover. I know from talking to people,
- 2:29Speaker 2: but there's a lot of people who are Carolina fans,
- 2:31Speaker 2: are APT fans that are big Panther fans, and I
- 2:34Speaker 2: this is not in the show. We're not supposed to
- 2:36Speaker 2: talk about this game because we have all these other
- 2:37Speaker 2: games we got to hit. This is not a Marquee game.
- 2:39Speaker 2: But I'm going to start off and just give them
- 2:41Speaker 2: their flowers. Hey, I said it was one of the
- 2:43Speaker 2: worst rosters I've ever seen. We went off on the Panthers,
- 2:45Speaker 2: how bad they were. They changed quarterbacks and this is
- 2:48Speaker 2: the number.
- 2:48Speaker 3: All you need to know.
- 2:49Speaker 2: The first two games we weren't imagining it. They had
- 2:51Speaker 2: three explosive pass plays three in the game against the Raiders,
- 2:55Speaker 2: they had nine with Andy Dalton, which just showed the
- 2:57Speaker 2: power of playing on time what that could do for
- 3:00Speaker 2: or an offense. So I do want to say congratulations
- 3:02Speaker 2: to the Carolina Panthers fans. I know a bunch of
- 3:04Speaker 2: you are mad at us because of how hard we
- 3:06Speaker 2: want at you, But I do not apologize for that
- 3:09Speaker 2: because it was atrocious what we watched the first couple
- 3:11Speaker 2: of weeks. So congratulations on that big win over the Raiders. Okay,
- 3:14Speaker 2: let's get back to the regular schedule program and we
- 3:17Speaker 2: have the Rams with a huge win over the forty
- 3:20Speaker 2: nine ers. You could say a season saving win, buck
- 3:23Speaker 2: when you take this one in the way they're.
- 3:25Speaker 3: Able to finish that ball game. What was your biggest takeaway?
- 3:29Speaker 1: Biggest takeaway is Matthew Stafford continue to do impressive stuff.
- 3:32Speaker 1: And I think his special values extend beyond the statue,
- 3:37Speaker 1: like his ability to hang in there, his ability to
- 3:39Speaker 1: kind of take a cast of unherded playmakers and kind
- 3:42Speaker 1: of find a way to figure it out. You got
- 3:44Speaker 1: to love that about the Rams. And I would say
- 3:47Speaker 1: this man fourteen because it's a beat up and banged
- 3:49Speaker 1: up as they have been. They just find a way
- 3:51Speaker 1: to kind of get nice performances from those who are played.
- 3:55Speaker 4: And so we always talked.
- 3:56Speaker 1: About this league being a developmental league where the coaches
- 3:58Speaker 1: that can develop the young player having an advantage over
- 4:01Speaker 1: the others. Man, I think it's hard to point out
- 4:04Speaker 1: a better coaching staff at developing their young players in
- 4:07Speaker 1: the LAA Ramp.
- 4:08Speaker 6: I would agree with that.
- 4:09Speaker 5: And I do think that your point on Stafford being
- 4:12Speaker 5: the glue that holds it all together is pretty important.
- 4:16Speaker 6: I mean, he was the guy.
- 4:17Speaker 5: I mean, you saw Sean McVay sought him out after
- 4:20Speaker 5: the game, you know, just to make make sure he
- 4:21Speaker 5: knew how much of a stud he was one of
- 4:24Speaker 5: the game balls afterwards.
- 4:25Speaker 6: But I think he is.
- 4:27Speaker 5: Stafford is the guy that definitely holds that all together,
- 4:29Speaker 5: especially on the offensive side.
- 4:31Speaker 6: But I think, you know, DJ, we got to talk
- 4:33Speaker 6: about two young guys.
- 4:34Speaker 3: You know.
- 4:34Speaker 5: One rookie Braydon Fisk I thought played an excellent game
- 4:38Speaker 5: up front for the LA Rams. On the defensive side
- 4:41Speaker 5: of the ball, that motor, the relentless efforts, the stuff
- 4:43Speaker 5: that we saw on tape of Florida State all showed
- 4:45Speaker 5: up in this game. He led the team in pressures
- 4:47Speaker 5: and then came up you know, like on a number
- 4:49Speaker 5: of those pressures, he gets in there and then perty
- 4:52Speaker 5: makes a phenomenal move to escape the pocket and actually
- 4:54Speaker 5: has like a chunk play. But that one right there,
- 4:57Speaker 5: that third down with a minute left, where Fisk finally
- 5:01Speaker 5: kind of got home and was able to prevent Perdy
- 5:04Speaker 5: getting out of the pocket and scrambling for a first
- 5:06Speaker 5: down that might have gotten them closer as they were
- 5:09Speaker 5: trying to get down into field goal range there. I
- 5:11Speaker 5: thought that was huge, and then it got the Rams
- 5:13Speaker 5: the ball back. They went down and kicked the field goal.
- 5:15Speaker 5: The other one, I'd say, and I know you're going
- 5:16Speaker 5: to talk about this two DJ, but to two out, well,
- 5:19Speaker 5: I mean, I think we're also seeing the power of
- 5:22Speaker 5: you know, two two's explosive speed when you can put
- 5:24Speaker 5: him on the move and.
- 5:26Speaker 6: Get him going at the snap like in its main.
- 5:28Speaker 5: Coverage trouble trouble, especially when he's crossing the field like
- 5:32Speaker 5: he was on a number of those those first down
- 5:35Speaker 5: catches that he had. I mean, that was that was
- 5:37Speaker 5: fun to watch them find a way to use and
- 5:39Speaker 5: accentuate his skill set.
- 5:40Speaker 2: Yeah, one of the things that I do on these mondays, guys.
- 5:43Speaker 2: Is you know you're at a game, Buckets at a game,
- 5:45Speaker 2: you're someone traveling back from college games. So I'm trying
- 5:49Speaker 2: to just I don't see the game, so I'm going
- 5:51Speaker 2: to pull up the numbers and then look and see
- 5:53Speaker 2: what speaks to me from the numbers, and that dictates
- 5:55Speaker 2: what I'm going to study and what I'm going to watch.
- 5:57Speaker 3: And you don't know how happy I was.
- 5:59Speaker 2: I was like, who's too, who's here, baby, Yes, let's
- 6:02Speaker 2: get that college report. Let's fire that thing up, dust
- 6:05Speaker 2: that thing off. It's been hidden in a drawer, but
- 6:08Speaker 2: nice to see that one come to life. But watching
- 6:10Speaker 2: the tape, one of the things was fascinating Buck, the
- 6:13Speaker 2: creativity of McVeigh. I had never seen this before. Maybe Buck,
- 6:16Speaker 2: if you've seen it with teams you've played on or
- 6:18Speaker 2: what have you. But just utilizing motion in a different
- 6:21Speaker 2: way they use at well, almost like on an elevator
- 6:24Speaker 2: screen in basketball, where you've got the two wide receivers
- 6:27Speaker 2: and then he motions, he splits, he splits the wide
- 6:30Speaker 2: receivers and then gets out, gets out into his route.
- 6:33Speaker 2: I was like, this is fantastic. I just love when
- 6:34Speaker 2: you're watching stuff every week and you're like, Okay, I
- 6:36Speaker 2: don't remember really seeing much of that, but it's just
- 6:39Speaker 2: a way and I don't even know how much it
- 6:40Speaker 2: impacted the DBS. It didn't look like it really helped
- 6:43Speaker 2: him in terms of getting them through the wash. But
- 6:46Speaker 2: if nothing else like it keeps it fun and fresh,
- 6:48Speaker 2: and there's just some new wrinkles sprinkled in there with
- 6:51Speaker 2: with McVeigh. And before you get to that one, the
- 6:53Speaker 2: other side of it, I want to hit on you
- 6:54Speaker 2: guys talked about Stafford being the glue. The only reason
- 6:57Speaker 2: that I'll that I will argue for McVeigh is that
- 7:00Speaker 2: I just can't get out of my head. We think
- 7:02Speaker 2: about all these changing pieces that they've had. I can't
- 7:05Speaker 2: get out of my head of Baker Mayfield showing up
- 7:06Speaker 2: on a Tuesday and winning a game on a Thursday.
- 7:09Speaker 3: And so that's when I give McVeagh.
- 7:11Speaker 2: I give McVeigh a lot of credit for whatever he's
- 7:13Speaker 2: given and however he makes it work.
- 7:15Speaker 3: He just figures out what guys can do, puts him
- 7:17Speaker 3: in a situation to be successful.
- 7:19Speaker 1: Yeah. Now, DJ, it's funny because you talk about Matthew Stafford,
- 7:22Speaker 1: want to give his Flowers. I don't know if you
- 7:24Speaker 1: checked dimensions on X. They were talking about how could
- 7:27Speaker 1: you just so dismissively put brock Perdy ahead of Matthew Stafford.
- 7:31Speaker 3: Well, let's talk.
- 7:32Speaker 4: About brock Perdy, because brock Perdy.
- 7:34Speaker 1: Was phenomenal in his own right twenty two of thirty
- 7:37Speaker 1: two ninety three touchdowns. And look, I know the Niners
- 7:42Speaker 1: paid a lot of money to Brandon Nyuk, maybe some
- 7:45Speaker 1: of that money should have gone to Juwan Jenny Jewan
- 7:47Speaker 1: Jenny was going bananas one hundred and seventy five yards
- 7:50Speaker 1: on eleven catches and mak ingim play after play, like
- 7:52Speaker 1: really picking up where he left off in the Super Bowl.
- 7:55Speaker 1: And for Niners team, which is kind of been a
- 7:58Speaker 1: weird spot right. One of the things we worried about
- 8:01Speaker 1: for them was the Super Bowl hangover and how they
- 8:04Speaker 1: would cope with losing, particularly when everyone after you have
- 8:08Speaker 1: that kind of success. Everyone has kind of got in there,
- 8:10Speaker 1: They have their handout, wanted to be paid and compensated
- 8:13Speaker 1: for what they've done.
- 8:14Speaker 4: I just feel like this team is.
- 8:16Speaker 3: Kind of at a crossroads.
- 8:17Speaker 1: But they got to figure out who they are, what
- 8:19Speaker 1: they're about, and if they can put all this stuff
- 8:21Speaker 1: behind them and really focus on the task at hand,
- 8:23Speaker 1: because to drop, I would say, like two games that
- 8:26Speaker 1: maybe we on the outside we didn't think they would drop.
- 8:29Speaker 1: They're sitting at one and two, and I don't know
- 8:30Speaker 1: if any of us had them sitting at one and
- 8:32Speaker 1: two at this point of this season.
- 8:33Speaker 2: I think is the most surprising, you know, development so
- 8:36Speaker 2: far in the ear if you'd told me the Niners
- 8:37Speaker 2: be sitting here at one and two. And now, obviously
- 8:39Speaker 2: there's there's injuries there, they're missing some pieces, but nonetheless
- 8:42Speaker 2: definitely a surprise where the Niners are. Let's let's move
- 8:45Speaker 2: on to the next game. Guys, Baltimore Dallas Cowboys are
- 8:49Speaker 2: always going to grab the headlines. It's always going to
- 8:50Speaker 2: be a slant for what's wrong with them as opposed
- 8:52Speaker 2: to what's right with the other team. But man, to me,
- 8:55Speaker 2: Derrick Henry's where I started with this one. Obviously, you
- 8:57Speaker 2: look at the numbers and I wanted to dig into
- 8:59Speaker 2: that and see what those runs looked like. And it
- 9:01Speaker 2: was a lot of what we thought coming into the year,
- 9:04Speaker 2: which was benefiting from the threat of Lamar as a runner.
- 9:08Speaker 2: And obviously Lamar did his thing rushing the ball, as well.
- 9:11Speaker 2: But Lamar l there's one explosive runner. He's able to
- 9:13Speaker 2: hold Parsons just for account because he has to account
- 9:18Speaker 2: for Lamar if he pulls the ball. And then that's
- 9:20Speaker 2: that backside defender who would normally make that play on
- 9:22Speaker 2: Derrick Henry, and he's just account late to get there,
- 9:25Speaker 2: so you end up getting a big run. Then you
- 9:27Speaker 2: have unbalanced looks and he's able to run to the
- 9:30Speaker 2: short side on some of those you just got there's
- 9:32Speaker 2: just not enough guys, and then he's one stiff arm
- 9:34Speaker 2: away from popping a long run. And then they mixed in,
- 9:37Speaker 2: you know, some downhill runs to go along with some
- 9:40Speaker 2: of the stretch that they ran. So I thought it
- 9:43Speaker 2: was a creative run game. I thought it was what
- 9:45Speaker 2: we envisioned the run game could look like with Derrick
- 9:47Speaker 2: Henry and Lamar. Obviously Rhett was a tremendous compliment to
- 9:52Speaker 2: what they were doing on the ground.
- 9:54Speaker 6: Yeah, a couple of things on that run game.
- 9:56Speaker 5: I mean ten explosive plays in the run game to
- 9:58Speaker 5: zero or the Dallas Cowboys, so a shutout and then
- 10:03Speaker 5: double digits on that front from the Ravens. I thought
- 10:06Speaker 5: the way they used the preset the motion I thought
- 10:08Speaker 5: was really interesting in this one. I think six out
- 10:10Speaker 5: of ten of those explosive plays they had motion going
- 10:13Speaker 5: across the formation and it really affected the second level
- 10:17Speaker 5: alignment of the Cowboys, where they were really shifting out
- 10:20Speaker 5: to wherever that motion was going.
- 10:21Speaker 6: And then more often than not on those six plays,
- 10:24Speaker 6: that's where they.
- 10:25Speaker 5: Were running, you know, taking advantage of those those angles
- 10:28Speaker 5: that that was creating and running away from the motion.
- 10:31Speaker 6: So that was obviously working really well.
- 10:33Speaker 5: And then you know, I mean they ran I left
- 10:36Speaker 5: twenty eight toss right with twenty one personnel or twelve personnel,
- 10:41Speaker 5: I mean, like just some stuff, just simple, We're going
- 10:43Speaker 5: to be better than you. And they were on a
- 10:46Speaker 5: couple of those. I mean, you got in thirteen at
- 10:48Speaker 5: three tight ends they ran to the weak side. The
- 10:50Speaker 5: other thing that was really fun was the fake jet
- 10:54Speaker 5: sweep QB power Like that to me is legal. Right,
- 10:58Speaker 5: You've got say Flowers coming over I mean and is
- 11:01Speaker 5: widening that edge. And then you get Lamar following a
- 11:03Speaker 5: pulling guard. That's trouble. That's trouble for defense. And it
- 11:07Speaker 5: was late in the game against the Calvioy.
- 11:09Speaker 1: You know what I love about the Baltimore Ravens is
- 11:11Speaker 1: when they're backs against the wall, they always go.
- 11:13Speaker 3: Back to who they are in their identity.
- 11:15Speaker 1: The fact that you can look at the statuet can
- 11:16Speaker 1: see forty five runs two hundred and seventy four rushing yards,
- 11:19Speaker 1: it just tells me that they know who they are.
- 11:22Speaker 1: It's just sometimes I think they get distracted by trying
- 11:25Speaker 1: to be one of the cute teams in the league.
- 11:27Speaker 4: When they line up with a.
- 11:28Speaker 1: Two time NFL rushing champion and a two time MVP
- 11:31Speaker 1: who is known for breaking ankles with the legs when
- 11:35Speaker 1: they lean into that, it makes them one of the
- 11:37Speaker 1: scariest teams in the league. And when you watch the
- 11:40Speaker 1: game plan, it was a mix of what they used
- 11:42Speaker 1: to do with some new stuff and some creative motions
- 11:45Speaker 1: or whatever. But at the end of the day, the
- 11:47Speaker 1: Baltimore Ravens lined up and socked the Dallas Cowboys in
- 11:51Speaker 1: the mouth. And if they continue to take that approach
- 11:54Speaker 1: with the rest of the teams on their schedule, look,
- 11:57Speaker 1: they gonna be the same team that we always talked
- 11:59Speaker 1: about being one one of the final ones.
- 12:00Speaker 4: In the tournament.
- 12:01Speaker 1: And the way they utilize a little under center running
- 12:05Speaker 1: game to mix in some play action passing game. That
- 12:08Speaker 1: is the way in my mind that Lamar Jackson should
- 12:10Speaker 1: be utilized twelve or fifteen as a passer one hundred
- 12:13Speaker 1: and eighty two yards one touchdown to go with what
- 12:17Speaker 1: he added on the ground, which was almost one hundred yards.
- 12:20Speaker 1: To me, that's the perfect balance because if you look
- 12:22Speaker 1: at their team, their best two players are Lamar Jackson
- 12:25Speaker 1: and Derrick Hemry.
- 12:26Speaker 4: Own offense, you sprinkle in some.
- 12:28Speaker 1: Zate flowers in a way they go, this offense can
- 12:31Speaker 1: still punch you in the mouth. They just need to
- 12:32Speaker 1: commit to being that bullyball team that we saw on
- 12:35Speaker 1: Sunday real quick.
- 12:36Speaker 2: On the other side of it, Buck with the Cowboys,
- 12:41Speaker 2: I'm not freaked out about it. I mean, that's a
- 12:43Speaker 2: unique challenge with what Baltimore does, and you had a
- 12:45Speaker 2: zero to two Ravens team. You knew they were going
- 12:47Speaker 2: to come out punching and to have the variety that
- 12:50Speaker 2: they have offensively not something you see on a weekly basis.
- 12:54Speaker 2: Mike Zimmer's still it's just game three with this defense,
- 12:57Speaker 2: I just coming out of the game would surprised me.
- 12:59Speaker 2: Is there there's urgency right good, there's being angry with
- 13:05Speaker 2: the way that you played, which I'm okay with that,
- 13:08Speaker 2: but then there's like that line of panic and almost
- 13:11Speaker 2: with all the comments coming out of there that you
- 13:13Speaker 2: see after that game and you see the sideline stuff
- 13:15Speaker 2: taking place here with Ceedee Lamby here, Micah Parsons and
- 13:18Speaker 2: back after the game, I don't want to say, I
- 13:20Speaker 2: don't want to use the word panic, but man, it
- 13:22Speaker 2: was if it hadn't arrived at that destination, it was
- 13:25Speaker 2: within sight.
- 13:26Speaker 4: Yeah, Like I think is.
- 13:27Speaker 1: Different like when you look at the Cowboys, because look, man,
- 13:30Speaker 1: I think this team obviously like they get a lot
- 13:32Speaker 1: of hype about them because of the Dallas Cowboys, but
- 13:34Speaker 1: I think when we realistically look at their roster and
- 13:36Speaker 1: what they are sometimes it plays out like that they
- 13:40Speaker 1: don't have a running back that skiers anybody. So to
- 13:43Speaker 1: think that their running game is going to be dynamic,
- 13:45Speaker 1: it would be on the shoulders of an offensive line.
- 13:47Speaker 1: But that offensive line is young and defensively they're still
- 13:51Speaker 1: trying to figure it out with Mike Zimmer. But the
- 13:53Speaker 1: one thing we know in the league, if you show
- 13:55Speaker 1: vunnabildies where you cannot stop the run, well guess what
- 13:58Speaker 1: you're gonna get? A steady dose of each and every week.
- 14:00Speaker 1: Continue showed that you can stop the running game, and
- 14:02Speaker 1: so they need to figure out how to stop with
- 14:04Speaker 1: their discipline and fiscality, or they're going to get more
- 14:06Speaker 1: teams coming right downhill at them and trying to punch
- 14:09Speaker 1: them in them out.
- 14:10Speaker 5: I was just staying on the you know, as the
- 14:12Speaker 5: Ravens are trying to take advantage of that. I mean,
- 14:14Speaker 5: like using all three of their tight ends. I mean
- 14:17Speaker 5: Isaiah Likely and and Charlie Kohler, and it's not just
- 14:20Speaker 5: Mark Andrews, right, especially when they're running the football. I
- 14:22Speaker 5: think Isaiah Likely has kind of proven he's pretty good,
- 14:25Speaker 5: pretty good blocker out there, and he made a couple
- 14:27Speaker 5: of nice ones that helped spring some of those runs.
- 14:30Speaker 5: So yeah, they got to figure out how to deal
- 14:31Speaker 5: with that, some of that heavy personnel. And you know,
- 14:34Speaker 5: not just from a scheme standpoint, but from a hey,
- 14:37Speaker 5: like enough's enough standpoint.
- 14:40Speaker 2: No question, Let's stay inside the NFC East. Let's go
- 14:43Speaker 2: from the Cowboys to the Eagles.
- 14:44Speaker 3: This this look.
- 14:45Speaker 2: It's Week three, but it almost felt like a must
- 14:47Speaker 2: wing game for the Philadelphi Eagles.
- 14:48Speaker 3: They're one on one coming to that game.
- 14:50Speaker 2: But the talk was so toxic, you know, and everybody's
- 14:54Speaker 2: on Nick Sirianni like it was just this felt like, man, this.
- 14:57Speaker 3: Could be a buzzsaw.
- 14:59Speaker 2: You run into with the same offense that have just
- 15:00Speaker 2: been dynamic and explosive, and here you go. You come
- 15:03Speaker 2: into this game, you only give up twelve points against
- 15:06Speaker 2: an offense that was humming like nobody else in the league.
- 15:08Speaker 2: So a much needed win for the Philadelphia Eagles. Kind
- 15:12Speaker 2: of a grimy game. The one takeaway I had when
- 15:15Speaker 2: I was looking at the boxer, obviously NW Saquan had
- 15:17Speaker 2: a big day.
- 15:18Speaker 3: But got her, got her at ten for a buck seventy.
- 15:20Speaker 2: And when I went in and watched that, you see
- 15:23Speaker 2: a combination of They'll give him some screens.
- 15:26Speaker 3: You see some deep crosses he is there. You saw
- 15:28Speaker 3: the route right here.
- 15:29Speaker 2: He's he's got some wide receiver route savvy for a
- 15:32Speaker 2: guy who's like two hundred and sixty pounds. He's a
- 15:34Speaker 2: big dude who's got some some actual route savvy, and
- 15:37Speaker 2: they used it. The big play they hit was a
- 15:39Speaker 2: mesh concept where you actually had three saints. I believe
- 15:42Speaker 2: this is it that you're looking at right here, there's
- 15:45Speaker 2: three saints into one another and I know Buck from
- 15:48Speaker 2: someone who has and Rett you might even I know
- 15:51Speaker 2: you've done this at the Manning camp, not to success,
- 15:53Speaker 2: but I know you have coached some supply football.
- 15:56Speaker 4: But the.
- 15:58Speaker 2: Buck from when you're a little kid, from when you're
- 16:00Speaker 2: coaching toddlers, the when you're coaching all the way up
- 16:02Speaker 2: at the NFL level, mess is fantastic.
- 16:05Speaker 3: It's like kind of defeated. You're going to get one
- 16:07Speaker 3: of those a game.
- 16:09Speaker 1: You're going to get one of those key Keystone Cops
- 16:11Speaker 1: moments where guys bump into each other because it requires
- 16:14Speaker 1: so much communication, everyone being on the same page how
- 16:18Speaker 1: you're going to play it.
- 16:19Speaker 4: And the thing about.
- 16:20Speaker 1: Like the Eagles, and I would say this is probably
- 16:22Speaker 1: the tougher game because they gave away a game on Monday,
- 16:25Speaker 1: so you're still emotional about that. They're trying to kind
- 16:27Speaker 1: of scratch and claw their way through it. Jellen Hurst
- 16:29Speaker 1: those an interception in the red zone in the end
- 16:32Speaker 1: zone that really crushes the drive and they were able
- 16:35Speaker 1: to dig their way through it.
- 16:37Speaker 4: To me, it's.
- 16:38Speaker 1: Encouraging because of the resilience and determination that they displayed
- 16:41Speaker 1: because this was not an easy game for them, particularly
- 16:44Speaker 1: taken on the same team that had been red hot,
- 16:47Speaker 1: but they found their way through it. And the other thing,
- 16:50Speaker 1: the investment in Sakwont Barkley is worth his waiting goal
- 16:52Speaker 1: for this offense because no matter what goes down, they
- 16:56Speaker 1: always can lean on the running game. And that's not
- 16:58Speaker 1: always the luxury that they've been afforded in the past
- 17:01Speaker 1: based on the personnel they had in the back gill
- 17:03Speaker 1: behind Jalen Hurt.
- 17:04Speaker 5: So from the Saints perspective, here, guys, this was a
- 17:06Speaker 5: game that, like, if you'd have told me some of
- 17:09Speaker 5: the mistakes that Philly made, I was like, Oh, Saints
- 17:11Speaker 5: blew them out at home?
- 17:13Speaker 6: Are you kidding me?
- 17:14Speaker 5: You know, you throw an intersect, Jalen, you know there
- 17:17Speaker 5: was the interception you're talking about. Saints end up punting
- 17:20Speaker 5: it on that drive. They fumble the Eagles do on
- 17:22Speaker 5: their next possession. The Saints punt on that drive. Second half,
- 17:26Speaker 5: Philly turns it over on downs. The Saints punt after
- 17:30Speaker 5: getting that turnover on downs. Next possession, they block a punt.
- 17:33Speaker 5: You know, like anytime you block a punt at the
- 17:35Speaker 5: Superdome in New Orleans, it's summoning visions of Steve Gleason,
- 17:38Speaker 5: And you know, twenty years ago like it, and then
- 17:42Speaker 5: they turn it over on downs after that block punt.
- 17:45Speaker 5: The Saints had so many opportunities to put the Eagles
- 17:50Speaker 5: in a really bad spot right It felt like frustration
- 17:53Speaker 5: was getting to a fever pitch, you know, on the
- 17:55Speaker 5: sideline there. You could see it in Jalen Hurts his eyes.
- 17:57Speaker 5: Offense wasn't clicking, they weren't putting points on the ball,
- 18:00Speaker 5: but their defense kept keeping them in it and the
- 18:03Speaker 5: Saints couldn't figure out a way to kind of put
- 18:06Speaker 5: the foot on the throat. And man, I'm telling you,
- 18:08Speaker 5: it's a super home in New Orleans. When defense is
- 18:11Speaker 5: making plays like that, forcing turnovers, forcing turnover on downs,
- 18:15Speaker 5: you block a punt.
- 18:16Speaker 6: That place is ready to explode.
- 18:18Speaker 5: And then the offense, the complimentary football aspect of this
- 18:21Speaker 5: one just wasn't able to come through for.
- 18:24Speaker 1: Yeah, just didn't get the complimentary football that you wanted.
- 18:27Speaker 1: And I think it's probably disappointing for them. But I
- 18:31Speaker 1: will say, like this league is a week to week league,
- 18:34Speaker 1: and every year it shows you how you got to
- 18:37Speaker 1: bring your a game every week if you're gonna be
- 18:40Speaker 1: one of those championship caliber teams. And you know, we
- 18:43Speaker 1: praised the Saints for two weeks in a row about
- 18:45Speaker 1: their offense and how difficult their offense was to defend,
- 18:49Speaker 1: and look Big Fangio crack the code. It'd be interesting
- 18:52Speaker 1: to see where the Saints go from here. How do
- 18:56Speaker 1: they handle the counters to their original game plans, because
- 19:01Speaker 1: the great coordinators always have counters to the counters. Let's
- 19:05Speaker 1: see where I think Kobiac can go over this offense
- 19:07Speaker 1: to get them to the next level.
- 19:13Speaker 2: A team that was on a nice cruise maybe a
- 19:15Speaker 2: little maybe a little shuffle board on the deck for
- 19:18Speaker 2: the Seattle Seahawks, is they just smashed a two a
- 19:22Speaker 2: tongue of I loa less Miami Dolphins squad twenty four
- 19:26Speaker 2: to three. Just a complete suffocating defense by a coach
- 19:31Speaker 2: McDonald there and what he's put together, combined with John Schneider,
- 19:35Speaker 2: the roster that he's built, I mean, I think we
- 19:37Speaker 2: start there, guys. This was this was a six sac
- 19:40Speaker 2: performance by this defense. This is going through and looking
- 19:44Speaker 2: at the sacks. I was fasting to see Derek Hall
- 19:46Speaker 2: show up there with two and people don't remember Derek
- 19:48Speaker 2: four pick. Yeah, that's exactly right, ran four five five
- 19:52Speaker 2: coming out wrote it down on my paper and you
- 19:55Speaker 2: look at Boye Mafe was a big time tester. I
- 19:58Speaker 2: think they have one of the most explosive fronts with
- 20:01Speaker 2: a lot of depth too.
- 20:02Speaker 3: They can roll guys through there.
- 20:04Speaker 2: But Buck They've done a nice job of building a
- 20:08Speaker 2: roster that matches the scheme, which is not usually something
- 20:11Speaker 2: you see when you have a first year head coach
- 20:13Speaker 2: come in. I think they hired a coach that matches
- 20:16Speaker 2: what the personnel they already had on campus.
- 20:19Speaker 1: Yeah, it's kind of a brilliant move, right, Like you
- 20:21Speaker 1: go and get someone who not only is a terrific tactician,
- 20:25Speaker 1: but a guy who I think his collegiate experience benefited
- 20:29Speaker 1: him because he's able to make the complex very simple.
- 20:32Speaker 1: He's able to really teach a scheme that has a
- 20:34Speaker 1: lot of nuance to a bunch of different guys who
- 20:37Speaker 1: have different levels of experience in the NFL. But then
- 20:40Speaker 1: he is able to take their most dynamic players and
- 20:43Speaker 1: put them in a position to make plays. To me,
- 20:46Speaker 1: it's not a reincarnation of the best days of Pete
- 20:50Speaker 1: Carroll's era, but it reminds me of that, Like how
- 20:53Speaker 1: they're growing and dominating and the emotional maturity that this
- 20:57Speaker 1: team displayed jockeing out a team that didn't have a
- 21:01Speaker 1: chance with a quarterback. They did not waste time. They
- 21:04Speaker 1: put it on their defense, and their defense respond in
- 21:07Speaker 1: spectacular fashion. Really good Seahawks, Seaman, I think, man, it's
- 21:11Speaker 1: time for us to talk about them as one of
- 21:13Speaker 1: the better teams in the NFC.
- 21:15Speaker 5: Yeah, they're rocket and rolling, certainly, And then you know,
- 21:17Speaker 5: on the flip side for me, you know, after talking
- 21:20Speaker 5: about the Rams in our opening segment and how they
- 21:22Speaker 5: have figured out ways to win right when their backs
- 21:25Speaker 5: are against the wall in terms of personnel, right when
- 21:27Speaker 5: their best guys are out, I feel like it's time
- 21:32Speaker 5: to start seeing that from the Dolphins with however long
- 21:34Speaker 5: that twa tungue Bailoa is going to be out, like
- 21:36Speaker 5: they've got you know, we're talking about the run game
- 21:39Speaker 5: that we've given them a ton of credit for and
- 21:41Speaker 5: rightly so, like we got to find a way to
- 21:43Speaker 5: see some of that, right and I know a lot
- 21:45Speaker 5: of that credit goes to Mike McDonald and his defense
- 21:47Speaker 5: there at Seattle, but with a chan with Jeff Wilson
- 21:50Speaker 5: and Jalen Wright, I mean, like they've got plenty of
- 21:52Speaker 5: guys that can get out there and get it done,
- 21:54Speaker 5: and that creativity that we talk about with Mike McDaniel
- 21:56Speaker 5: in the run game. I fel like, you know, that
- 21:59Speaker 5: needs to be what is going to sustain the Miami
- 22:01Speaker 5: Dolphins here moving forward, and we just did not see
- 22:03Speaker 5: that at all in this game, which put too much
- 22:05Speaker 5: of it on Skyler Thompson and then obviously he got
- 22:09Speaker 5: banged up in the game too. So I'm curious to
- 22:12Speaker 5: see what kind of shape this Dolphins offense takes moving forward.
- 22:17Speaker 2: Yeah, And then last thing on this game, going back
- 22:19Speaker 2: to the Seahawks offensively, nice to see DK Metcalf getting
- 22:22Speaker 2: involved in some big plays they ran. It was like
- 22:24Speaker 2: a almost like a digg and go. He kind of
- 22:28Speaker 2: he gave a couple of steps to the dig and
- 22:30Speaker 2: then hit it. Hit, put the foot on the gas
- 22:33Speaker 2: and got vertical, so that that downfield that stretch you horizontally,
- 22:37Speaker 2: as well as vertical offense from coach Grubb that we
- 22:39Speaker 2: saw at the University of Washington, He's taken the same thing.
- 22:41Speaker 2: I think some people, Oh, you know, can you run
- 22:43Speaker 2: this system the same way at the NFL level?
- 22:46Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 22:46Speaker 2: To my naked eye, sure looks like it's working and
- 22:49Speaker 2: Gino's been able to capitalize on that down the field.
- 22:53Speaker 2: So a great start for the Seattle Seahawks off two
- 22:56Speaker 2: three and zero beginning here to the twenty twenty fourth season. Man,
- 22:59Speaker 2: I'll tell you from a Chargers perspective as we get
- 23:02Speaker 2: to this next game against.
- 23:03Speaker 3: Pittsburgh, hats off to the Pittsburgh Steelers. That is a
- 23:05Speaker 3: huge win for them.
- 23:06Speaker 2: That is as good as I've seen Justin Fields play
- 23:09Speaker 2: in the NFL.
- 23:10Speaker 3: He was outstanding with the way that he played.
- 23:13Speaker 2: And this is a Steelers team, And I'll get to
- 23:15Speaker 2: the Chargers and second Steelers team had fourteen yards rushing
- 23:17Speaker 2: in the first half, so it was kind of on
- 23:20Speaker 2: Justin now they got they popped some runs in the
- 23:22Speaker 2: second half, so the numbers look better there. But man,
- 23:25Speaker 2: the the takeaway from me on this is this was
- 23:28Speaker 2: going to be a rock fight. It was going to
- 23:29Speaker 2: be a really physical matchup, and man, the Chargers, just
- 23:33Speaker 2: from an injury standpoint, got decimated. Joey Bosa's plays two
- 23:37Speaker 2: plays in this game, he's out. Rashaun Slater goes out
- 23:41Speaker 2: with it. I guess they said it was a peck injury.
- 23:43Speaker 2: Herbert obviously goes out with the with the ankle. Joe
- 23:46Speaker 2: Alt goes out with a I believe was a knee injury.
- 23:49Speaker 2: Like they were lose, they were dropping like flies. They
- 23:51Speaker 2: had so many key players go out of this ball game.
- 23:54Speaker 2: So that's the Charger thing. They got to figure out
- 23:56Speaker 2: what's going on if they can get those guys healthy.
- 23:58Speaker 2: But you know, when you look at this game, I
- 24:02Speaker 2: just came away thinking it's over. I mean, the the conversation,
- 24:07Speaker 2: is Russell going to be healthy? Does Russell get I mean,
- 24:09Speaker 2: he goes out for captains. I'm at the game, you're watching.
- 24:11Speaker 2: It's it's bizarre to see, really the backup quarterback trot
- 24:15Speaker 2: out there for captains. Got to see on his chest.
- 24:17Speaker 2: You can't put him in there. The way the fields
- 24:19Speaker 2: is playing right now, that's over, Like you're rolling with
- 24:22Speaker 2: justin fields right now.
- 24:24Speaker 5: And look, you know, you don't know the severity of
- 24:26Speaker 5: the injury here, but I think he's at this point,
- 24:29Speaker 5: we'll have missed more time now than when the injury
- 24:32Speaker 5: initially happened in terms of working his way back into practice.
- 24:35Speaker 5: So yeah, at this point, I don't know how you
- 24:38Speaker 5: could say, all right, we're three and oh right, we're
- 24:41Speaker 5: doing everything we want to do as the Pittsburgh Steelers
- 24:44Speaker 5: to win football games. How could you possibly then put
- 24:47Speaker 5: Russell Wilson, you know, back in here. Look, I mean
- 24:49Speaker 5: they haven't been you know, they had that the fifty
- 24:52Speaker 5: five yard Calvin Austin touchdown was obviously the big play
- 24:55Speaker 5: of the day as you're watching here, I mean, they
- 24:58Speaker 5: haven't been overly PRODUCTI dive through the air, but like
- 25:01Speaker 5: they're doing exactly well.
- 25:04Speaker 6: You know, that's how Tomlin blueprint. That's it.
- 25:07Speaker 3: That's that's it.
- 25:07Speaker 2: That they're reading the script and he's he's saying the
- 25:10Speaker 2: lines like he's been given the script and he's kneeling
- 25:13Speaker 2: his lines. You know, he might not win an oscar,
- 25:15Speaker 2: but that's literally he's executing the script.
- 25:17Speaker 5: On on defense, like to have her big there with
- 25:21Speaker 5: high Smith and Watt and Herbert gets these two side
- 25:24Speaker 5: and obviously they're feasting, you know, once the tackles go
- 25:27Speaker 5: out too, and so I know the Chargers are in
- 25:29Speaker 5: a tough spot there, but man, that defense is as
- 25:31Speaker 5: good as a closer in these type of situations in
- 25:34Speaker 5: close games, I think, as any in the.
- 25:36Speaker 1: League, you know, and I'm sure we're talking about this
- 25:38Speaker 1: later in the week. DJ when it comes to quarterbacks,
- 25:41Speaker 1: because we saw a couple of reclamation projects show up,
- 25:44Speaker 1: and it's one of the reasons why we talk about
- 25:46Speaker 1: like good draft grades and understanding the play and how
- 25:49Speaker 1: you project him. And that's why guys will kick the tires.
- 25:52Speaker 1: And that's why Bryce young k had the media trade
- 25:54Speaker 1: interest when the Carolina Fanthers dispatched him, because sometimes a
- 25:58Speaker 1: new environment can bring about new results. You just need
- 26:01Speaker 1: a different voice, a different scheme of just different supporting
- 26:05Speaker 1: cast to allow you to elevate.
- 26:07Speaker 4: The thing that I love about.
- 26:08Speaker 1: Mike Tomlin and the Stellers, they know exactly who they
- 26:10Speaker 1: are and when they brought Justin Fields in, they didn't
- 26:13Speaker 1: ask Justin Fields to be something different. They didn't ask
- 26:15Speaker 1: him to go win the entire game. This is a
- 26:18Speaker 1: team that is driven by their defense and they need
- 26:20Speaker 1: a manager plus at quarterback. And I think we talked
- 26:23Speaker 1: about this in the summer. The Stillers recipe for success
- 26:27Speaker 1: has always been defense, running game, and then magical quarterback
- 26:31Speaker 1: play when they need it. And Justin Fields gives them
- 26:35Speaker 1: magic in a different way, not being Roethlisberger caliber magic,
- 26:38Speaker 1: but the ability to run the ball like he's able
- 26:41Speaker 1: to do on that zone reads up, power read or
- 26:43Speaker 1: however you want to utilize him, just as a dimension
- 26:46Speaker 1: to their offense. That gives the defense something else that
- 26:50Speaker 1: they have to prepare for. Look. I don't know how
- 26:52Speaker 1: long they can sustain it with Look scoring twenty or
- 26:55Speaker 1: fewer points, but.
- 26:56Speaker 4: I do know as long as that defense.
- 26:58Speaker 1: Is playing at a high level, if he doesn't mess
- 27:01Speaker 1: it up, they're gonna win a lot of games.
- 27:04Speaker 2: And I'll give to put a bow on the Steelers,
- 27:07Speaker 2: give them credit to I mean they've been. They've been
- 27:09Speaker 2: with injuries along that offensive line. When Isaac Samalo's not
- 27:12Speaker 2: out there. Fortunately, Troy Fatano, their rookie first rounder, he's
- 27:16Speaker 2: going to be gone for the year. Herbig's brother on
- 27:19Speaker 2: the offensive side of the offensive line, he's done. So
- 27:22Speaker 2: they've lost some pieces and they found a way to still,
- 27:24Speaker 2: you know, make it work and be true to who
- 27:26Speaker 2: they are. All right, Let's get to the Minnesota Vikings
- 27:29Speaker 2: game went over the Houston Texans. This is a Vikings team. Defensively, Buck,
- 27:35Speaker 2: I think we start there. You know, some guys, and
- 27:38Speaker 2: I'm not saying that coach Flores can't ever be a
- 27:40Speaker 2: head coach again, but some guys just thriving in a
- 27:43Speaker 2: certain role in a position and as a defensive coordinator.
- 27:47Speaker 2: He's really really good man, and they've got good personnel.
- 27:50Speaker 2: They stomped the Houston Texans thirty four to seven. Sam
- 27:53Speaker 2: Donald had another great game with the four touchdowns, But
- 27:56Speaker 2: to me, this was about what they did defensively, including
- 28:00Speaker 2: Jonathan Greener in the get back game to the team
- 28:03Speaker 2: he played with last year, going out there racking up
- 28:05Speaker 2: three sacks after having twelve and a half with Houston
- 28:08Speaker 2: last year. They dominated defensively in this game.
- 28:12Speaker 4: So here's the.
- 28:12Speaker 1: Thing in DJ, one of the things that I love
- 28:14Speaker 1: about and Brett, we had a chance. I think we
- 28:15Speaker 1: went to Minnesota last training camp and had an opportunity
- 28:18Speaker 1: to see Brian Floydes at work. DJ. I can tell
- 28:21Speaker 1: you one of the best teachers that I've seen in
- 28:22Speaker 1: terms of like being able to take scheme and convey
- 28:25Speaker 1: it to his players and give them different tools and
- 28:27Speaker 1: techniques to be able to thrive. This defense is a
- 28:31Speaker 1: well constructed defense that blends intelligence with the level of
- 28:35Speaker 1: physicality and toughness that you love to see. And what
- 28:38Speaker 1: they did to the Houston Texans, they not only confused
- 28:42Speaker 1: the quarterback, but they beat the Houston Texans up, and
- 28:45Speaker 1: they laid a blueprint that other teams should try to follow,
- 28:48Speaker 1: because the physicality that they displayed in this game is
- 28:52Speaker 1: absolutely the level of physicality that you need to bring
- 28:55Speaker 1: against a Texans team that has skilled players galore.
- 28:58Speaker 4: So if you can't match this, you got to make
- 29:01Speaker 4: it a.
- 29:02Speaker 1: Fistfight, a street fight, and the Minnesota Vikings were all
- 29:04Speaker 1: about a street fight.
- 29:06Speaker 5: Yeah, And I would say there's definitely some guys, you know,
- 29:09Speaker 5: along that offensive line for the Texans that would would
- 29:12Speaker 5: like to play a little bit better moving forward against
- 29:14Speaker 5: that type of competition. Kenyon Green, don't think out a
- 29:17Speaker 5: particularly great day in past protection. But just getting back
- 29:21Speaker 5: to your point on the Vikings defense, I mean the
- 29:24Speaker 5: way that they utilize their quote unquote safeties. I think
- 29:28Speaker 5: Josh Mattellis is a guy we talked about a lot
- 29:30Speaker 5: last year.
- 29:31Speaker 6: The jack ball trades.
- 29:32Speaker 5: Move him anywhere everywhere, and he's just a guy that
- 29:35Speaker 5: makes plays for them. Cam bine him. I think has
- 29:38Speaker 5: been playing some good football too. And then looking at
- 29:40Speaker 5: what you know, Harrison Smith here, you know as the
- 29:43Speaker 5: wily vet that continues, I mean, you know, plays fifty
- 29:46Speaker 5: two snaps in this game. And is one of their
- 29:47Speaker 5: best defenders on the field. Like to have that I
- 29:51Speaker 5: think is invaluable for this defense. That does ask a
- 29:53Speaker 5: lot of things from a lot of different guys, right,
- 29:55Speaker 5: I mean, is it's complex.
- 29:57Speaker 6: It's not just get up there and run run our scheme.
- 29:59Speaker 6: So I think they all kind of figured it out.
- 30:01Speaker 1: You know.
- 30:01Speaker 5: Another one that we talked about a little bit that's
- 30:04Speaker 5: kind of under the radar free agent signing. Obviously it
- 30:06Speaker 5: gave big money to Grenard, but Andrew van Ginkel coming
- 30:11Speaker 5: over from the Miami Dolphins has provided.
- 30:13Speaker 2: We're we're AVG fan club over here. Come on, man,
- 30:16Speaker 2: we're all about ABG over here. He's a stud.
- 30:20Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 30:20Speaker 3: No, that was a that was that was big time.
- 30:22Speaker 2: And man, I'll tell you what when you watch when
- 30:25Speaker 2: I always look at defensive coordinators and I see how
- 30:27Speaker 2: many times can you get your best rushers on tight
- 30:29Speaker 2: ends or backs. Flores does it a lot with how
- 30:31Speaker 2: he manipulates things, with who he brings and where he
- 30:34Speaker 2: sends them from. And just look backers on backs equal
- 30:38Speaker 2: sacks has been a phrase. It's been around for a
- 30:40Speaker 2: very long time and it still rings true as you
- 30:43Speaker 2: can see in that ball game, all right, let's get
- 30:45Speaker 2: through another one here. Let's go through Casey in Atlanta.
- 30:48Speaker 2: This was a game that was very, very tight coming
- 30:52Speaker 2: down the home stretch here.
- 30:53Speaker 3: The Falcons had every opportunity to win this game. Buck
- 30:56Speaker 3: But when you.
- 30:56Speaker 2: Look at it, eight red zone plays, you see it
- 30:58Speaker 2: on the screen right there, zero points the ball games.
- 31:03Speaker 4: I feel like this is the theme of.
- 31:04Speaker 1: The day when we talk about teams and identities and
- 31:08Speaker 1: when their backs are against the wall, they stick to
- 31:10Speaker 1: their identity. So you know, anyone who knows Steve Spagnido
- 31:13Speaker 1: knows when the game is on the line, you're gonna
- 31:15Speaker 1: get some kind of the exotic pressure bringing everybody gonna
- 31:19Speaker 1: play covers they were behind it and figure it out. Indeed,
- 31:21Speaker 1: in the red zone, man, they do what they do.
- 31:24Speaker 1: They line up, they bring pressure. They dare you to
- 31:26Speaker 1: make a play against pressure. But that final play like
- 31:30Speaker 1: just in terms of like uh Nick Boldon said it,
- 31:33Speaker 1: and sometimes it's not proper to do it. He said, look,
- 31:35Speaker 1: we lined up, we shifted the vine. They hit us
- 31:37Speaker 1: on their play before he said this time, I just
- 31:39Speaker 1: shot my gun and I made a play. And I
- 31:41Speaker 1: was like, yep, because he looked like he was shot
- 31:43Speaker 1: at of a Cannon when he attacked John Robinson. Their
- 31:46Speaker 1: defense just has a belief that they are an elite
- 31:50Speaker 1: level defense when they need to get stops, and it
- 31:53Speaker 1: shows up time and time again. And so now after
- 31:55Speaker 1: like a year and a half of seeing them play
- 31:58Speaker 1: like this, we kind of need to talk talk about
- 32:00Speaker 1: their defense in their vein.
- 32:01Speaker 6: Oh, I'd say for sure.
- 32:03Speaker 5: And then, you know, I think it's it's obviously been
- 32:06Speaker 5: a necessity right going back to next year or last year,
- 32:10Speaker 5: you know, you know, thinking about how different the production
- 32:13Speaker 5: has been from these Patrick Mahomes led offenses, and it
- 32:15Speaker 5: really kind of goes into this year too, you know,
- 32:18Speaker 5: just looking at he probably heard it on the broadcast
- 32:21Speaker 5: with Collinsworth was like, where where is Travis Kelcey? You know,
- 32:24Speaker 5: where has Travis Kelsey been? I mean, he is one
- 32:27Speaker 5: hundred and ten yards receiving on the season right now.
- 32:30Speaker 5: I'm kind of curious to what you guys have thought
- 32:32Speaker 5: from watching that. Obviously they are in a big connection
- 32:35Speaker 5: between Mahomes and Rashid Rice in this game ten catches
- 32:38Speaker 5: well over one hundred yards. But what have you guys
- 32:40Speaker 5: noticed from the Mahomes Kelsey connection thus far the season?
- 32:43Speaker 3: Indeed, he's not getting any separation.
- 32:47Speaker 2: And I look, I'm not going to say that he's done,
- 32:50Speaker 2: but I've seen it. If you go back to, yeah,
- 32:53Speaker 2: the all time rates Antonio Gates. You remember Gates like
- 32:56Speaker 2: at the last year of his career, and it was
- 32:59Speaker 2: like at some point it just kind of goes and
- 33:01Speaker 2: you don't and you just can't get the separation that
- 33:03Speaker 2: you you once got.
- 33:04Speaker 3: So that's what it looks like to me. And they've
- 33:06Speaker 3: just got other better options.
- 33:07Speaker 2: I mean, Rashid Rice, like you mentioned, had a huge game,
- 33:10Speaker 2: gives you more after the catch. So they've just found
- 33:14Speaker 2: other ways to go with the football. And he hasn't
- 33:15Speaker 2: really been involved. I mean Mark Andrews is another one.
- 33:17Speaker 2: And Mark Andrews has been somewhat of a ghost in
- 33:20Speaker 2: the UH.
- 33:21Speaker 5: In the Ravens offense, he was out snapped by not
- 33:24Speaker 5: only Isaiah Likely but also Charlie Kohler. And I think
- 33:27Speaker 5: a lot of that has to do with the run game,
- 33:28Speaker 5: emphasis too from the Ravens, but but just one on
- 33:31Speaker 5: the Kelsey front. Like I think you assume though, that
- 33:34Speaker 5: there's a craftiness involved here between those two guys and
- 33:37Speaker 5: that at some point they're going to find a way,
- 33:39Speaker 5: you know, to get those touches when they matter.
- 33:41Speaker 6: Yeah, I just haven't seen it yet.
- 33:43Speaker 3: No, by the way, we can't.
- 33:45Speaker 2: We I'll go buck real quick before we leave on
- 33:48Speaker 2: this game and wrap this little portion up here. I mean,
- 33:52Speaker 2: there's there's a lot of there's always a lot of
- 33:53Speaker 2: outraged against the Chiefs. They get a lot of attention,
- 33:56Speaker 2: so and there's always been the thought out there about
- 33:58Speaker 2: calls that to go their way, and sometimes it's a
- 34:01Speaker 2: little conspiratorial and all that it goes over the top.
- 34:04Speaker 2: This should have been a penalty on on Pits. I mean,
- 34:08Speaker 2: that was a that's probably as bad of a no
- 34:11Speaker 2: call in my opinion, especially crucial point of the game,
- 34:16Speaker 2: crucial part of the field. I mean, yeah, that's that's
- 34:20Speaker 2: a that's a tough note call their goll Yeah.
- 34:23Speaker 1: I mean it's a tough no call. But like I
- 34:26Speaker 1: get all the outrage against the Chiefs, But sometimes, man,
- 34:29Speaker 1: I think that's always happened in all sports, Like like
- 34:32Speaker 1: when the Patriots were rolling, it always appeared that they
- 34:35Speaker 1: got the best call. Sometimes when you're good, the luck
- 34:37Speaker 1: teems to go your way. And so teams, we can
- 34:41Speaker 1: talk about it, they can talk about their call. But
- 34:43Speaker 1: the Atlanta said more than enough opportunities to knock this
- 34:45Speaker 1: game out and to win the game, and they just
- 34:47Speaker 1: got to go win the game.
- 34:48Speaker 4: Like you had eight chances in the red zone the
- 34:51Speaker 4: go score and.
- 34:51Speaker 1: You couldn't get it done. So we can talk about
- 34:53Speaker 1: the calls that I would call it, the resilience, the grittiness,
- 34:55Speaker 1: the toughness of the Cans City Chiefs that reigned supreme
- 34:59Speaker 1: and these teams that faced him. I have to know,
- 35:02Speaker 1: you got to knock the champ out. You can't let
- 35:05Speaker 1: it go to the decisions. It can't go to the cars.
- 35:07Speaker 1: You have to knock them out when you have an opportunity,
- 35:09Speaker 1: and the Falcons have more enough opportunity to knock them out.
- 35:12Speaker 2: By the way, for those that are actually watching the
- 35:14Speaker 2: video show portion of this, not just listening to this,
- 35:16Speaker 2: but you're watching it, I know that you're curious. So
- 35:18Speaker 2: I'm gonna ask a question, Buck, are you building legos
- 35:20Speaker 2: off to the side of the set here? What are
- 35:22Speaker 2: we doing here off to the side of the after
- 35:23Speaker 2: the I'm I'm trying.
- 35:25Speaker 1: I'm trying. I'm trying to get like my tea right
- 35:27Speaker 1: because my voice is faded, so I'm trying to get
- 35:29Speaker 1: my tea when we have a commercial break failure, I
- 35:31Speaker 1: can take a week, So I'm trying to get a
- 35:33Speaker 1: little honey and my tea so I can take this week.
- 35:35Speaker 4: So we'll be all scratchy and the rest of.
- 35:37Speaker 6: That bus cook. All right, let him be.
- 35:39Speaker 2: I know, I thought I just thought I thought Buck
- 35:41Speaker 2: was putting together the home alone house like legos off
- 35:44Speaker 2: to the side. It's his hand moving off to the screen.
- 35:46Speaker 2: I know what's going on here. I just want to
- 35:47Speaker 2: make sure. I'm just curious, that's all. Just making a
- 35:49Speaker 2: little tea. Get the voice right, that's it. Uh, let's say, well, hey,
- 35:53Speaker 2: take a little pause here, Let's take a little pause.
- 35:55Speaker 2: Let's all get our voice right. All right, we've reached
- 36:02Speaker 2: the rookie portion of the show here. We like to
- 36:05Speaker 2: check in on these rookies in some key matchups. Here,
- 36:08Speaker 2: let's get to Chicago, Indie. This is Caleb Williams. This
- 36:12Speaker 2: is start number three. You see the numbers there on
- 36:14Speaker 2: the bottom of the screen. Ret This started out game one,
- 36:18Speaker 2: twenty nine pass attempts, Game two thirty seven, Game three
- 36:21Speaker 2: fifty two, and I look and I'll get to you
- 36:25Speaker 2: know what I saw when I broke down the tape.
- 36:26Speaker 2: But let's just start there first of all. Usage your
- 36:29Speaker 2: thoughts here with the Bearers.
- 36:32Speaker 5: Too much, Yeah, that's kind of the moral of the
- 36:35Speaker 5: story here. It certainly couldn't get a whole lot done,
- 36:39Speaker 5: you know, outside of you know, when the ball was
- 36:41Speaker 5: in Caleb's hands, and they still got a lot of
- 36:43Speaker 5: work to do up front, I think. And so I
- 36:46Speaker 5: mean subjecting him to pressure fifty two times in a
- 36:51Speaker 5: game that was pretty tight kind of both ways. Yeah,
- 36:54Speaker 5: I just it does not feel like the formula here
- 36:57Speaker 5: moving forward.
- 36:58Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't like it.
- 36:59Speaker 1: I didn't like it, and watching it, I feel like
- 37:01Speaker 1: what happens is when they give him that many opportunities,
- 37:04Speaker 1: the bad habits rise again. I feel like he ran
- 37:07Speaker 1: around a little too much, and some of the spectacular
- 37:10Speaker 1: plays that he made it in USC he can't replicate.
- 37:12Speaker 1: And in Annapolis there's some flashes. But I would like
- 37:15Speaker 1: to see an offense that is a little more constructed
- 37:18Speaker 1: to balance it out. Run game, quick rhythm throws, things
- 37:21Speaker 1: that are able to be delivered on time. I still
- 37:23Speaker 1: feel like the Bears offense is to sandlot and I
- 37:27Speaker 1: don't think that's a sustainable thing to develop him to
- 37:30Speaker 1: be the player that they want him to come down
- 37:31Speaker 1: the lone.
- 37:33Speaker 2: Yeah, some good news though there are a bunch of
- 37:35Speaker 2: third down, fourth down conversions. Yeah, look you put up.
- 37:39Speaker 2: I think that's more yards and fields through for any
- 37:41Speaker 2: game in his and his Bears career. So if you
- 37:43Speaker 2: just look at you know, okay, that's that's you know,
- 37:46Speaker 2: that's pretty good most since twenty sixteen, is what Drew's
- 37:49Speaker 2: telling me in my ear here.
- 37:50Speaker 3: So that was impressive.
- 37:51Speaker 2: Average depth of target was up, so it wasn't just
- 37:54Speaker 2: taking the easy stuff.
- 37:55Speaker 3: Had a couple beautiful deep balls.
- 37:58Speaker 2: I thought when he was on balance, like he had
- 38:00Speaker 2: a pocket and he was on balance, I thought he
- 38:02Speaker 2: delivered the ball accurately. A Doonesa made some nice plays,
- 38:05Speaker 2: which is a good sign for them as other fellow
- 38:07Speaker 2: rookie which was was good to see the one thing,
- 38:11Speaker 2: Buck and uh, get your final thoughts on this one.
- 38:15Speaker 2: I almost feel with quarterbacks there's that old line where
- 38:18Speaker 2: they say if you see everything, you see nothing, And
- 38:22Speaker 2: I almost feel like, because I'll see him where he's
- 38:25Speaker 2: working the full field at times and he's going it
- 38:28Speaker 2: looks like that makes it there's too much, that's too
- 38:31Speaker 2: much on him. Let's let's get a let's get a
- 38:33Speaker 2: look pre snap, Let's figure out what we see safeties
- 38:36Speaker 2: right after the post snap. Let's pick a side and
- 38:38Speaker 2: let's work aside. It almost feels like to me, that
- 38:41Speaker 2: was like it's like you you see everything, you see nothing.
- 38:45Speaker 1: Man. Maybe that explains some of the chaotic He seems
- 38:48Speaker 1: plagnetic sometimes in the pocket, like he look less, he
- 38:51Speaker 1: looks right, and it's all over the place in DJ.
- 38:53Speaker 4: Maybe it is. Hey, let's take it down.
- 38:55Speaker 1: Even though he has a capacity to read the entire field. Hey,
- 38:59Speaker 1: let's about giving us some half fuel reads. Let's give
- 39:02Speaker 1: him some level reads where everything crosses right in front
- 39:04Speaker 1: of it. I don't have to kind of leave the
- 39:06Speaker 1: direction where they start. Let's try and build him up
- 39:08Speaker 1: even though we know that he has the potential to
- 39:10Speaker 1: do more. Let's start him with some layups, some easy
- 39:13Speaker 1: form shots they see. We can get him hitting some
- 39:16Speaker 1: mid ranges before we start shooting all these three pointers.
- 39:19Speaker 1: And he's having a run around like Steph Curry, you.
- 39:21Speaker 5: Know, and just quickly on that one guys on the
- 39:24Speaker 5: on the flip side, you know, Anthony Richardson struggled in
- 39:28Speaker 5: this game too, I mean fifty percent completion two of them,
- 39:31Speaker 5: go for interceptions. Now, look, he had to play in
- 39:35Speaker 5: this game that many other quarterbacks can make leading essentially
- 39:39Speaker 5: like a pseudo tush push on the Jonathan Taylor touchdown
- 39:42Speaker 5: on I think it was the first one, and where
- 39:44Speaker 5: you're like, all right, that's a big, strong dude. But
- 39:47Speaker 5: they got to figure out ways to get him some
- 39:50Speaker 5: higher percentage completions.
- 39:51Speaker 6: They got to figure out ways to get the ball
- 39:53Speaker 6: out of.
- 39:53Speaker 5: His hand quick and just he to me, like getting
- 39:56Speaker 5: him in a rhythm early on is something that's beneficial,
- 40:00Speaker 5: especially for a player like that here into the you know,
- 40:02Speaker 5: the rest of the game. But that's not winning football
- 40:05Speaker 5: at the quarterback spot. But they get a win for it,
- 40:07Speaker 5: and it's their first one of the seasons.
- 40:10Speaker 3: Yeah, go ahead.
- 40:12Speaker 1: But when you look at him, like how we rate
- 40:16Speaker 1: his instinct like just in terms of not only instincts
- 40:19Speaker 1: as a passer, I worry about his instincts as a
- 40:21Speaker 1: runner because he ran a couple of times and the
- 40:25Speaker 1: things that you see and look, Lamar Jackson is a
- 40:27Speaker 1: remarkable athlete, but Lamar Jackson has an innate feel for
- 40:31Speaker 1: when to get down went to avoid contacting those things.
- 40:34Speaker 1: I don't know if Anthony Richardson has that, and I
- 40:37Speaker 1: think that may limit how you can utilize him in
- 40:40Speaker 1: the run game because he will take some wicked shots
- 40:43Speaker 1: if he doesn't learn how to duck down and get
- 40:45Speaker 1: away from those big boy.
- 40:47Speaker 5: H inde j I think to me, a lot of
- 40:50Speaker 5: that comes down to, like, he's got confidence in his frame,
- 40:53Speaker 5: he's got confidence in his strength.
- 40:54Speaker 1: And.
- 40:57Speaker 3: Eventually he wore down.
- 41:00Speaker 6: Yeah, I think it's a legitulator and I'm with you
- 41:03Speaker 6: on that.
- 41:04Speaker 2: No, I hear both of you. Let's get to uh
- 41:07Speaker 2: the next one here buck h bo Nick's best game
- 41:11Speaker 2: of his young career, aided by a defense that racked
- 41:14Speaker 2: up seven sacks, including uh Dntree Tilman.
- 41:17Speaker 3: Who or is it? Did I get that right? Did
- 41:19Speaker 3: I till Ria till Rea? I believe it was.
- 41:23Speaker 2: I can't read my own writing, but when I was watching,
- 41:25Speaker 2: I'm like, I am not is it Tilman? Uh Don
- 41:29Speaker 2: Trey Tilman? Two sacks? I'm like, who is this guy?
- 41:31Speaker 1: Uh?
- 41:32Speaker 2: He was at I up, so I'd have to go
- 41:34Speaker 2: back through. I did not remember having watched him. So
- 41:37Speaker 2: that was kudos to the scouting department there in Denver.
- 41:40Speaker 3: They done uth one there so nice, nicely done.
- 41:43Speaker 2: But bo Nick's buck running throwing an excellent day for him.
- 41:48Speaker 1: It's kind of like the Bonick that we thought would
- 41:49Speaker 1: show up in at Denver at some point. Champagne has
- 41:52Speaker 1: a vision for how he watched his quarterback to play.
- 41:55Speaker 1: And I'll say this, like they're similar, but they're they're
- 41:58Speaker 1: still vastly different. But I can see why bow Knicks
- 42:02Speaker 1: was the apple of Sean Payton's eye based on his
- 42:05Speaker 1: success with Drew Brees. Because when I look at bow Nicks,
- 42:08Speaker 1: the best of Bownick is a them passer with outstanding
- 42:12Speaker 1: athleticism that can make plays all over the field. And
- 42:16Speaker 1: we saw that and it was a very efficient game
- 42:18Speaker 1: for him. And if they continue to get the contribution
- 42:20Speaker 1: they got in the running game and he distributes the
- 42:23Speaker 1: ball to a multitude of wide receivers like he did. Yeah,
- 42:26Speaker 1: this offense can be challenging, even though it's not dynamic
- 42:29Speaker 1: and explosive, it can spread you out thinking and compliment
- 42:32Speaker 1: what appears to be a really good defense.
- 42:35Speaker 5: I mean, he's just so good. He's so good at
- 42:37Speaker 5: those quick throws, like it's it's hard to get away
- 42:40Speaker 5: from that. I mean it comes out I mean like
- 42:41Speaker 5: more often than not. I mean you look at his
- 42:43Speaker 5: scatterplot right like his his completion chart, and I mean
- 42:46Speaker 5: it is green right from line of scrimmage to ten
- 42:49Speaker 5: yards and from behind the line.
- 42:51Speaker 6: Of scrimmage to five yards. I mean, just littered with
- 42:53Speaker 6: green dots for completions.
- 42:55Speaker 5: And then obviously you start to see the incompletions, you know,
- 42:59Speaker 5: pile up as you get a little bit further down.
- 43:01Speaker 5: But I think, if it's working, if it's winning, you know,
- 43:04Speaker 5: just keep that rolling and then eventually, you know, you'd
- 43:08Speaker 5: like to see a bit more of those explosive plays.
- 43:10Speaker 5: But by the way, on your Dendre Tillman, yeah, this
- 43:14Speaker 5: is first game you didn't play the first two weeks.
- 43:17Speaker 3: How about that two sacks in his first his first game? Bad?
- 43:23Speaker 3: I got it.
- 43:24Speaker 2: That's my homework for the week. Figure out what the
- 43:25Speaker 2: heck where you know how I missed on that one.
- 43:27Speaker 2: I didn't know about him. Nobody told me about that
- 43:29Speaker 2: guy unless I've got some notes somewhere tucked away, But
- 43:31Speaker 2: I don't remember him. Let's get to another rookie who
- 43:35Speaker 2: is awesome and has been every game as Malik Neighbors,
- 43:38Speaker 2: who's the clear number one target for Daniel Jones and
- 43:42Speaker 2: looks every bit like a number one wide receiver. Two
- 43:44Speaker 2: touchdowns in this ball game, eight catches seventy eight yards
- 43:47Speaker 2: fifty to fifty win down the field, going up and
- 43:50Speaker 2: getting it.
- 43:51Speaker 3: The change of direction and the explosiveness is elite. Buck.
- 43:55Speaker 2: I always said, there's like little litmus tests that I
- 43:57Speaker 2: have with whiteouts too.
- 43:58Speaker 3: It's like you he catch it.
- 44:00Speaker 2: If you can catch a hitch and went out the
- 44:01Speaker 2: back door after the catch like that is like to
- 44:04Speaker 2: go from dead stopped, stationary to be able to then
- 44:08Speaker 2: explode and wheel out the back door like that to
- 44:11Speaker 2: me is always I always kind of check that box
- 44:13Speaker 2: of like, okay, that puts him in a select company.
- 44:15Speaker 3: And he did it impressively.
- 44:17Speaker 4: He did do that impressive.
- 44:18Speaker 1: But I would say the most impressive thing that he did,
- 44:20Speaker 1: and I think Red can attest it, is because it's
- 44:23Speaker 1: the drill that all wide receivers do, but few of
- 44:25Speaker 1: us can really execute it. The dead leg that he
- 44:28Speaker 1: did in the corner of the end zone where he
- 44:30Speaker 1: is having to twist around, he goes limp was the
- 44:34Speaker 1: first toe toe end and then drags.
- 44:36Speaker 4: The other one.
- 44:38Speaker 1: I can't tell you what kind of coordination and body
- 44:40Speaker 1: control that requires. You can't even think about doing that
- 44:44Speaker 1: in the moment.
- 44:44Speaker 3: That is some.
- 44:46Speaker 1: Special stuff because I know I can never pull that
- 44:48Speaker 1: stuff off, and I can't imagine many that can do it,
- 44:51Speaker 1: but he.
- 44:51Speaker 4: Made it look so easy.
- 44:53Speaker 1: And it goes back to the conversation that I had
- 44:56Speaker 1: with Cortez Hankton leading into the draft, and he just
- 44:58Speaker 1: talked about, man, this dude loves the game. He has
- 45:01Speaker 1: the dog in him. It matters to him. I just
- 45:05Speaker 1: see a high level player who I'm not saying that
- 45:08Speaker 1: a wide receiver can ever be the lead in your team,
- 45:10Speaker 1: but he certainly is a sparkplug to this offense that
- 45:12Speaker 1: makes it go. Yeah.
- 45:15Speaker 5: I mean, he's got a high rate of you know,
- 45:18Speaker 5: catches on combat type.
- 45:20Speaker 6: Of situations, right contested catches. He goes up and makes those.
- 45:23Speaker 5: He's up near the top of the league in terms
- 45:25Speaker 5: of yards after catch per reception, being way up there.
- 45:29Speaker 5: There's just he is such a complete player, right, I mean,
- 45:32Speaker 5: and that's the thing as you were talking about the
- 45:34Speaker 5: litmus test of taking a five yard hitch and going
- 45:37Speaker 5: fifty with it, but he can also go down the
- 45:39Speaker 5: sideline for fifty right and go deep that way.
- 45:41Speaker 6: So there's just nothing he can't do.
- 45:43Speaker 5: I mean, and here's the other thing with a player
- 45:46Speaker 5: like that, and and it's a rookie, I think a
- 45:48Speaker 5: lot of times.
- 45:49Speaker 6: You know, it may take some time.
- 45:51Speaker 5: But I mean, this guy leads the league in targets,
- 45:53Speaker 5: got thirty seven targets. Like they keep finding ways to
- 45:56Speaker 5: try to get him the football, which you know, I
- 45:59Speaker 5: think is easier.
- 46:00Speaker 6: Said they're done sometimes on that.
- 46:02Speaker 3: Yeah, no question, He's been excellent and really a dunes.
- 46:05Speaker 3: They had a good week. Marvin Harrison got in the
- 46:07Speaker 3: end zones.
- 46:07Speaker 2: But all three of those guys talked about them being
- 46:10Speaker 2: three the top five players in the draft, and I
- 46:11Speaker 2: think so far, early on, the results have been excellent
- 46:14Speaker 2: for those three rookie whiteouts. Jacksonville, Buffalo Buck that is
- 46:19Speaker 2: where you are. You got a big Monday night or tonight.
- 46:23Speaker 2: Give me the one thing that will decide this ball game.
- 46:28Speaker 1: Okay, So you have to understand traditionally these teams have
- 46:31Speaker 1: played weird games, right like the Buffalo Bills. For whatever reason,
- 46:35Speaker 1: the Jaguars have been a thorn in their side. A
- 46:37Speaker 1: nine to six game a couple of years ago. Last
- 46:39Speaker 1: year in London, Jaguars.
- 46:40Speaker 4: Pull it off.
- 46:41Speaker 1: I will say that the Jaguars have a different level
- 46:43Speaker 1: of confidence when they played the Buffalo Bills. How this
- 46:46Speaker 1: game starts, we really determine how the Jaguars finished the game,
- 46:49Speaker 1: meaning this is a team that may be reeling from
- 46:52Speaker 1: a lack of confidence after collapsingated the end the season.
- 46:55Speaker 1: Starting now owing too, they need some good stuff to
- 46:58Speaker 1: happen right away. If they are able to jump out
- 47:02Speaker 1: in the first quarter, you go see a very competitive
- 47:05Speaker 1: team that can go and maybe kind of blow the
- 47:08Speaker 1: doors off because they're waiting for something good to happen. However,
- 47:11Speaker 1: if they get up to a slow start in Buffalo,
- 47:13Speaker 1: hang something on them early. It'd be interesting to see
- 47:16Speaker 1: if they're tough enough to with stand like a barage
- 47:20Speaker 1: of things that can happen on the road in a
- 47:22Speaker 1: front time content.
- 47:23Speaker 5: Yeah, and I'm just kind of curious to see where
- 47:26Speaker 5: the you know what this Buffalo Bills team kind of
- 47:28Speaker 5: continues to look like here, you know, I think there's
- 47:31Speaker 5: just a lot of intrigue again as we as we
- 47:33Speaker 5: try to figure out, you know what this is this
- 47:35Speaker 5: really going to be the you know, Dalton Kincaid and
- 47:37Speaker 5: Dawston Knox type of show. Is Khalil Shakir has played
- 47:40Speaker 5: really well, you know, continue to step up for Josh Allen,
- 47:43Speaker 5: and how much of the bill's success again is disproportionately
- 47:48Speaker 5: put on the shoulders of Josh Allen and how sustainable
- 47:51Speaker 5: is that? And I think, you know, as we kind
- 47:54Speaker 5: of continue going forward here, that's that's where my eyes
- 47:56Speaker 5: will go.
- 47:58Speaker 2: I'm trying to figure outrhet and the picture that family
- 48:00Speaker 2: picture over your shoulder, why your hip is kicked out
- 48:02Speaker 2: like you've been you know, uh, I don't know, that's
- 48:06Speaker 2: a that's a I think that's more of a mom
- 48:08Speaker 2: move than a dad move there. Just it's a really
- 48:10Speaker 2: kind of odd posturing there. You've got that hip kicked out.
- 48:13Speaker 2: Do we not have the kid on the right hip?
- 48:17Speaker 5: You know, So we're just trying to we're trying to
- 48:18Speaker 5: compensate there, just toing some stability to a sort toddler
- 48:24Speaker 5: at that point.
- 48:25Speaker 2: Okay, okay, so you need the hip control if image.
- 48:31Speaker 5: It's an image, but there there are things that are
- 48:34Speaker 5: moving as that image is happening. So just keep that
- 48:37Speaker 5: in mind.
- 48:38Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, No, just I know, like my daughter likes
- 48:40Speaker 2: like getting ready to go out to like a like
- 48:42Speaker 2: a school dance or something, and she wants to sick picture
- 48:43Speaker 2: and she kind of does that like hip out, hip
- 48:45Speaker 2: out pose. That's what you're going with there, That's all
- 48:48Speaker 2: I was just getting that. Let's get let's get to
- 48:50Speaker 2: the other game here, Jade and Daniels against Joe Burrow
- 48:54Speaker 2: will be a fun one here.
- 48:55Speaker 3: Buck again, same question, what's going to decide this one?
- 49:01Speaker 1: If Jade Daniels feels a little pressure to prove the
- 49:03Speaker 1: Cambridge Taylor that he has more in his game and
- 49:07Speaker 1: just the simplistic breaths and throws that he's executing early,
- 49:11Speaker 1: it has worked for the Commanders, making it very simple
- 49:13Speaker 1: for the young quarterback. The quarterback has not turned the
- 49:15Speaker 1: ball over. He's done a really good job of kind
- 49:17Speaker 1: of managing the game and helping this commander's team kind
- 49:20Speaker 1: of get off to a really good start. But as
- 49:23Speaker 1: the Bengals try and take away some of his pet throws,
- 49:26Speaker 1: does he have another club in the back to handle that?
- 49:29Speaker 1: That is what I want to see from the young quarterback, Jay.
- 49:32Speaker 5: The other club in the bag is Terry McLaurin. Like,
- 49:34Speaker 5: let's get Terry McLaurin going here a little bit. Okay,
- 49:37Speaker 5: I feel like he's been a forgotten man, not only
- 49:40Speaker 5: just this year, but even go back to last year,
- 49:42Speaker 5: had such a great start to his career and just
- 49:44Speaker 5: kind of haven't seen that productivity coming his way as
- 49:48Speaker 5: much as his talent warrants it. And then obviously I'll
- 49:52Speaker 5: just be counting up the points for Jayden Daniels as
- 49:54Speaker 5: he tries to get me the win in our rookie
- 49:57Speaker 5: draft this week.
- 49:59Speaker 2: Ooh nice, Uh, well, we'll update that. We'll update that tomorrow.
- 50:02Speaker 2: We'll see how that, how that goes down. HTT needs
- 50:05Speaker 2: a win. Buck had a big win last week. See
- 50:07Speaker 2: if Rick can rebound this week. I'm looking forward to
- 50:09Speaker 2: seeing jay Daniels run the rock. That to me is
- 50:12Speaker 2: the X factor in this game. He's gonna have to
- 50:14Speaker 2: run it well. I think he does run it well.
- 50:16Speaker 2: I'm looking forward to watching this game. I'm actually Buck,
- 50:19Speaker 2: I'll be tuned in. I will definitely be I'll be
- 50:21Speaker 2: on the road, I'll be listening to your game. But
- 50:24Speaker 2: I think I might even be more intrigued by this
- 50:25Speaker 2: one with you know, with the Bengals needing this and
- 50:28Speaker 2: then Jade Daniel's excited to see what he does as well.
- 50:31Speaker 2: So two great games on Monday night, we'll have a
- 50:34Speaker 2: chance to talk about those on tomorrow's episode. So we
- 50:37Speaker 2: appreciate you guys hanging with us and spending some time
- 50:39Speaker 2: with us on a Monday, A great weekend of football. Uh,
- 50:42Speaker 2: and we'll have tomorrow's games or tonight's games recap tomorrow.
- 50:46Speaker 3: Appreciate you see next time. Right here, I'm moving sticks
