- 0:28Hey everybody, good morning from the chicken coop.
- 0:30So today we were are talking about how lip service gets in
- 0:34our way, the act of lip service. So let me explain for those of
- 0:38you who may have not heard of that term before.
- 0:41The act of lip service is when you are saying the right words,
- 0:44but you have absolutely no intent or the slightest belief
- 0:47that anything that you are saying is going to matter, make
- 0:50a difference. You don't believe in the prayer,
- 0:52you don't believe in the thought, you don't believe in
- 0:54the action of it. You're just going through the
- 0:55motions to get it out and make it end.
- 0:59And this process, I believe in our society has become a very,
- 1:04very predominant force, let's say of, of action and how it
- 1:11just effects so much because people are constantly saying one
- 1:16thing and doing another. And when you actually find
- 1:18someone that lives up to their word, as I like to say, it's a
- 1:22rarity. And you need to keep those
- 1:24people and you need to cherish them because those people are
- 1:28special. They are definitely special.
- 1:30And I don't even, I don't, I don't even really think that a
- 1:34lot of people realize how lip service is affecting everybody
- 1:39around them. To me, I think it's something
- 1:43that we've become so habitually conditioned to that we ourselves
- 1:47do it. We say one thing and we do
- 1:49another. And you've heard me talk before
- 1:52about how don't lie to yourself. It falls in that category again,
- 1:56when you say something, do you really mean it?
- 1:58Are you, are you working on it? Sure what maybe you'll fail, but
- 2:02you're still intending on working on it.
- 2:04And it's the intent behind the scenes that matters.
- 2:06So this idea of lip service this, this idea of, of being
- 2:12able to believe in it. One of the places where I, I
- 2:15really want to focus on this particular subject is what you
- 2:20believe behind the scenes about how you're going to handle
- 2:23yourself and what you're going to do moving forward with it.
- 2:27So if we if we intend to do something, and often this shows
- 2:31up in our business world where we're like, OK, we're going to
- 2:35do this, we're going to make this happen.
- 2:37This is the month we're getting the marketing done.
- 2:39And there's no question about it, this is what I'm doing.
- 2:43And it sounds great. You might even make a list,
- 2:47might even be on your clipboard and you've got a list and you're
- 2:50like, OK, I'm ready. I got this all done.
- 2:53I've got it in my notes and my iPhone, I'm good.
- 2:55And then it falls by the wayside or it gets pushed to a different
- 2:59date or you say you're going to do something and it doesn't
- 3:03happen. And all of a sudden you come to
- 3:05the end of the month and you're looking at what has happened and
- 3:08transpired over the course of the month.
- 3:10And it's nothing that you thought it was going to be.
- 3:12There's absolutely not one thing that you thought it was going to
- 3:15be done. And you in that, at least in
- 3:18that arena that you gave lip service to and you said it to
- 3:21the team, you said, this is what we're going to get done.
- 3:24And all of a sudden it's not there.
- 3:25It's, it's blank and you're like, what happened?
- 3:28Where did the time go? What, where did it all go?
- 3:30How did I possibly miss out on this?
- 3:33Well, you missed out on it because you gave Idlib service,
- 3:35but you didn't give it the attention that it critically
- 3:38needed in order to get done. And that attention is the part
- 3:42that's so precious. It, it and it, and I truly mean
- 3:46that in that sense, you have to treat things like that, like
- 3:50they are important, they are precious and you are going to do
- 3:53it no matter what. So sometimes you have to change
- 3:57your approach. I recently have done this where
- 3:59I recognize that a big project that I want to get done is not
- 4:02getting done. And it's not getting done
- 4:04because I'm working with clients and I am guilty of working in my
- 4:09business and not on my business as congruently as I need to.
- 4:12So I had to do something, Hire an assistant.
- 4:15Excellent. She's getting it taken care of
- 4:18on lots of levels. Now besides that, oh, you know
- 4:21what, hire one of your clients that can go and do the website
- 4:24work that needs to be done. Excellent, let's get that taken
- 4:27care of. And we started that process
- 4:30because here's the truth, it I I cannot be everywhere for
- 4:34everyone all the time. And I need to change my
- 4:36approach. So that's what I'm doing.
- 4:38And when you recognize that you have limitations and you're real
- 4:42with yourself and you're not just giving lip service to a
- 4:44subject, you can truly do some greater good.
- 4:47And that's the intent. That is the complete intent with
- 4:51this. So where are you giving lip
- 4:53service in your life? What are the things you're
- 4:55talking about that you're not actually following through on?
- 4:58What are the things that you know that you absolutely have no
- 5:02choice, that you have to pay a little bit more attention to and
- 5:05stop just giving lip service to it?
- 5:07Whether it's your health, whether it's, you know, working
- 5:10out, whether it's learning, reading, getting help for
- 5:14yourself, figuring out a better way cleaning your house.
- 5:17I've had a lot of people recently talk about how they
- 5:20have so much clutter and they can't take it or they haven't
- 5:23put laundry away for forever. There's piles of laundry sitting
- 5:28all around and they haven't put it away and they're just living
- 5:30out of the pile of laundry. Or they go and they shop and
- 5:33they don't put the groceries away.
- 5:35They just basically leave them hanging around because it, you
- 5:39know, hell it, I'm just going to eat them anyway.
- 5:42Well, there's something to be said for creating that order
- 5:46that you'd crave. And if you are thinking about it
- 5:49and you're saying, I wish it was like this, oh, I wish I was
- 5:52organized. Oh, I wish I had this done in my
- 5:55case. I wish the website was, you
- 5:56know, doing things for me instead of just being a
- 5:59placeholder. Then we, we don't wish our lives
- 6:03away, my friends. We fix it.
- 6:04And the wish is the indication it has to get done.
- 6:07No more lip service. Getting help is the key.
- 6:11It's the key. So make your list, figure it
- 6:14out. I'll see you guys tomorrow.
- 6:16Hope you have a blessed day. Bye.
