- 0:06Speaker 1: twenty twenty four. By the time you hear this, some

- 0:55Speaker 1: is our Eagles season preview. We're talking Eagles, We're talking
- 0:59Speaker 1: NF during this entire episode. It is going to be
- 1:03Speaker 1: a fun it is going to be an interesting season.
- 1:06Speaker 1: It is going to be won for the books with
- 1:08Speaker 1: regard to the Philadelphia Eagles and this NFL league as well.
- 1:13Speaker 1: I am Jeff Warren and I'm gonna be bringing my
- 1:15Speaker 1: co hosts and buddies on in just a little bit.
- 1:18Speaker 1: We had a little bit of a different format with
- 1:20Speaker 1: regard to this week's show. We've got our good friend
- 1:23Speaker 1: of the pod, Brandon Lee gouton BLG from Bleedinggreen Nation
- 1:26Speaker 1: dot com. He's gonna be joining us first for our
- 1:29Speaker 1: interview this week, and then I'm going to bring the
- 1:31Speaker 1: guys on right after that. But I have to say
- 1:34Speaker 1: excitement is in the air. Excitements in the air. We
- 1:37Speaker 1: all know it. I mean, head back into our podcast
- 1:40Speaker 1: Feed the Eagles pregame show that we put out this
- 1:44Speaker 1: past week with text Western from Acmepackingcompany dot com and
- 1:48Speaker 1: the Frozen Tundra Frequencies podcast. We got into what this
- 1:51Speaker 1: upcoming Packers Eagles game may actually look like. It is
- 1:55Speaker 1: going to be a hell of a game right out
- 1:57Speaker 1: of the gate. So that being said, let's get to
- 2:00Speaker 1: the interview. Let's get to talking with blg here, and
- 2:04Speaker 1: then again, I'm gonna bring the guys on after that
- 2:06Speaker 1: and we're gonna get into some predictions for this coming season.
- 2:09Speaker 1: Let's do it. Joining us this week to get into
- 2:12Speaker 1: our Eagles season preview from Bleedinggreen Nation dot com. And
- 2:15Speaker 1: you can follow him on the Twitter slash x at
- 2:18Speaker 1: Brandon Gouton. You're already following him, for God's sakes. I
- 2:21Speaker 1: think he's got over eighty thousand followers on Twitter at x. Anyway,
- 2:24Speaker 1: we got Brandon Leagut and BLG Hey doing Buddy.
- 2:27Speaker 2: Doing good, Jeff, glad to be here with you for
- 2:31Speaker 2: this Eagles twenty twenty four season, which would be pretty interesting, exciting.
- 2:36Speaker 2: I can't wait for Friday Night.
- 2:38Speaker 1: I cannot wait to see where this team goes. And
- 2:41Speaker 1: I feel like this offseason has taken a long time
- 2:44Speaker 1: for some reason. BLG. I cannot seem to wrap my
- 2:49Speaker 1: head around the fact that we have a team that
- 2:51Speaker 1: really is the same in a lot of ways, yet
- 2:54Speaker 1: there are some differences as well. And there's definitely some
- 2:58Speaker 1: heat on Eagles head coach Nick siri as we're heading
- 3:00Speaker 1: into this season two years removed from a Super Bowl appearance,
- 3:04Speaker 1: and the team and Sirianni are looking to solve last
- 3:07Speaker 1: year's late season collapse. So I guess the first question
- 3:10Speaker 1: and topic for us to get into is can Nick
- 3:12Speaker 1: Sirianni really provide the direction to get this team back
- 3:16Speaker 1: to some stability of what we saw on twenty twenty two.
- 3:19Speaker 1: I don't know what are your thoughts here?
- 3:21Speaker 2: Major question right it's the money question coming on in
- 3:23Speaker 2: last year's collapse, And the answer is I don't know.
- 3:27Speaker 2: I don't feel encouraged from a standpoint of where we
- 3:30Speaker 2: left off. Where the biggest thing I think that concerns
- 3:33Speaker 2: me about Nick Sirianni and especially in this role moving forward,
- 3:36Speaker 2: when it's all this talk about okay, he's going to
- 3:38Speaker 2: be the CEO kind of guy. Well, I really need
- 3:41Speaker 2: to see him give this team an edge, especially when
- 3:44Speaker 2: it comes to being aggressive. And look, you know, the
- 3:46Speaker 2: Toush push is great, but like that's not something I'm
- 3:49Speaker 2: going to give him or the team a ton of
- 3:51Speaker 2: credit for from the standpoint of like, those are pretty
- 3:53Speaker 2: obvious situations to go where right right, and now I
- 3:56Speaker 2: will say that maybe okay, not all teams will do that,
- 3:59Speaker 2: so I do give him some credit, But I'm talking
- 4:01Speaker 2: about how, you know, there's more situations that aren't as obvious,
- 4:05Speaker 2: maybe like a fourth and four or something, And are
- 4:07Speaker 2: you going to put you know, pedal to the medal
- 4:09Speaker 2: and be aggressive and tie to try to give your
- 4:11Speaker 2: team an edge and actually show that you believe in
- 4:13Speaker 2: your players, or it could be like third and eight
- 4:16Speaker 2: and instead of what we saw a lot last year,
- 4:18Speaker 2: where I feel like it would be like a bubble
- 4:19Speaker 2: screen or a coward's draw, Like, hey, maybe let's throw
- 4:23Speaker 2: beyond the sticks and be aggressive and actually try to
- 4:25Speaker 2: go for it. So I would like to see more
- 4:28Speaker 2: of that from him. When it comes to the game
- 4:30Speaker 2: management stuff, I will say I am encouraged about the
- 4:35Speaker 2: culture aspect of Nick Sirianni. Obviously, the vibes went really
- 4:38Speaker 2: south last year training camp, all the players seem to
- 4:41Speaker 2: be getting along. The energy seems to be good. I
- 4:44Speaker 2: feel good about that. And then to his credit, I
- 4:46Speaker 2: will say that's probably been the strongest thing about Nick
- 4:48Speaker 2: Sirianni during his time here. I think, with you last
- 4:51Speaker 2: year's collapse as the exception. I think he's done a
- 4:54Speaker 2: really good job keeping the vibes high on this team.
- 4:57Speaker 2: That's obviously kind of hard to quantify, but it does
- 4:59Speaker 2: go in hand with how much he's won here in Philadelphia.
- 5:02Speaker 2: So I feel encouraged about that part, feel good about
- 5:05Speaker 2: that part. There's some things in training camp, though, situationally
- 5:08Speaker 2: still and I just think a DNA thing where I question, like,
- 5:11Speaker 2: is Nick Sirianni gonna be truly aggressive just like we
- 5:15Speaker 2: saw Doug Peterson be once upon a time, right legals
- 5:18Speaker 2: win the Super Bowl? And I still have questions about
- 5:20Speaker 2: that part.
- 5:21Speaker 1: Do you think if one little tiny thing happens, it
- 5:24Speaker 1: could take the culture and there would be some sort
- 5:26Speaker 1: of one eighty that happens within the locker room where
- 5:29Speaker 1: players I don't want to necessarily say, turn on him,
- 5:31Speaker 1: but just aren't happy. You know, one little thing, say,
- 5:35Speaker 1: you know, after week seven or something like that happens
- 5:37Speaker 1: where a relationship between a certain player and Nick Sirianni
- 5:41Speaker 1: kind of just starts to go south a little bit.
- 5:42Speaker 1: Do you see that possibly happening and that's the straw
- 5:45Speaker 1: that breaks the camel's back.
- 5:46Speaker 2: Yeah, I think that's a fair question. I guess my
- 5:48Speaker 2: concern wouldn't be that there will be adversity, because it's
- 5:52Speaker 2: inevitable there's gonna be some kind of adversity at some
- 5:54Speaker 2: point and in any given NFL season with very rare exception,
- 5:58Speaker 2: so I wouldn't be worried about that. I think the
- 6:00Speaker 2: more concern is like can he stop the free fall
- 6:03Speaker 2: which they clearly couldn't last a great point. It's not
- 6:06Speaker 2: a problem. I deals face adversity. That itself is not
- 6:09Speaker 2: the problem. It's the problem if they just have no
- 6:12Speaker 2: ability to dig themselves out of it, no resiliency at all,
- 6:15Speaker 2: just like they did last year. And yeah, that's again
- 6:17Speaker 2: a thing that I can't say I'm definitely confident can happen.
- 6:21Speaker 2: Just based on the concerns of last year, I can
- 6:24Speaker 2: only say that I'm encouraged with the direction of the
- 6:26Speaker 2: things they're trending right now.
- 6:28Speaker 1: All right, Well, let's get into the quarterback position. Jalen
- 6:30Speaker 1: Hurts through for a career high three eight hundred and
- 6:33Speaker 1: fifty eight yards last season, and he was named to
- 6:36Speaker 1: the Pro Bowl, of course, but he had as many
- 6:38Speaker 1: interceptions fifteen interceptions as he did the previous two seasons.
- 6:42Speaker 1: He obviously needs to cut down on the turnovers this year.
- 6:45Speaker 1: If this Eagles offense is going to be successful, he
- 6:48Speaker 1: should be set up for more success this year under
- 6:51Speaker 1: new offensive coordinator Kellen Moore in his scheme. That's how
- 6:54Speaker 1: I'm seeing it, how a lot of Eagles Nation is
- 6:57Speaker 1: seeing it. BLG. You know what of Jalen Hurts? Do
- 7:01Speaker 1: you think we're gonna see this year more of the
- 7:03Speaker 1: same or maybe an altered mind frame and altered way
- 7:07Speaker 1: of looking at things on the field.
- 7:09Speaker 2: Well, just based on training camp, I feel like encouraged
- 7:11Speaker 2: about Sanherds because he looked really good. He only threw
- 7:14Speaker 2: one interception. It was on the final day of practice, yep.
- 7:16Speaker 2: And it wasn't like, oh, he's only throwing you know,
- 7:19Speaker 2: short checkdown passes, or he's only throwing to wide open receivers.
- 7:23Speaker 2: He was making difficult throws and big plays down the
- 7:26Speaker 2: field and balancing that while also not putting the ball
- 7:29Speaker 2: really in Harm's way too much at all. I think
- 7:31Speaker 2: there were like three different instances outside of the actual
- 7:34Speaker 2: interception he threw where I thought Jalen Hurts kind of
- 7:36Speaker 2: put the ball in Harm's way unnecessarily and almost could
- 7:39Speaker 2: have had a few more interceptions. But the fact that
- 7:42Speaker 2: I can remember those stands out as like he did
- 7:44Speaker 2: a really good job of not doing that regularly. So
- 7:48Speaker 2: I feel encouraged about Jalen Hurts's outlooked, especially with Kellen
- 7:52Speaker 2: Moore here now, and the fact that jale Hurts did
- 7:55Speaker 2: not receive enough help from the coaching staff. That's not
- 7:57Speaker 2: to say that he couldn't have reasonably played better better
- 8:00Speaker 2: and he did everything he possibly could in his power
- 8:02Speaker 2: and he was merely let down. I don't think that's
- 8:04Speaker 2: the case, but I do think he was let down
- 8:06Speaker 2: in a lot of regards. And then when you bring
- 8:08Speaker 2: up the interceptions and not just throwing it also so
- 8:12Speaker 2: a one hand avoiding them in training camp, but also
- 8:14Speaker 2: just the natural regression that you know we saw with
- 8:17Speaker 2: Dak Prescott in twenty twenty two. Yeahak through a bunch
- 8:20Speaker 2: of interceptions uncharacteristically. So when you look at his career numbers,
- 8:23Speaker 2: career high interception rate, it always seemed obvious to me
- 8:26Speaker 2: and I'm probably a lot of others like that number
- 8:28Speaker 2: was going to come down to some extent in twenty
- 8:30Speaker 2: twenty three, and it did. And Dak had a really
- 8:31Speaker 2: good regular season last year before the Cowboys inevitably choked
- 8:34Speaker 2: in the playoffs like he always does and they always do.
- 8:37Speaker 1: Yep.
- 8:37Speaker 2: But the same kind of logic to spin it to
- 8:39Speaker 2: the Eagles is that I think Jalen Hurts some of
- 8:41Speaker 2: those turnovers were probably a little bit unlucky, a little
- 8:44Speaker 2: bit uncharacteristic, didn't get enough help from the coaching staff.
- 8:48Speaker 2: So I think I expect those to come down.
- 8:50Speaker 1: This coaching staff and Nick Sirianni is talking about letting
- 8:52Speaker 1: Saquon Barkley loose to open up the season here, and
- 8:56Speaker 1: I have to tell you a BLG. The rushing attack
- 8:58Speaker 1: with a prolific player like Saquon Barkley is something I
- 9:01Speaker 1: cannot wait to witness week in and week out during
- 9:05Speaker 1: this upcoming season. So I wonder what kind of balance
- 9:09Speaker 1: do you think we're gonna see as it pertains to
- 9:11Speaker 1: the rushing and passing game. When this team has so
- 9:14Speaker 1: many amazing playmakers on the field, it's a great problem
- 9:17Speaker 1: to have. But what are your thoughts here?
- 9:19Speaker 2: I think anytime you have a team with a j
- 9:22Speaker 2: Brown and DeVante Smith and now you add Johan Dotson
- 9:26Speaker 2: and you have Dallas Goddard here and you have running backs,
- 9:28Speaker 2: you can factor in as pass catchers as well. And
- 9:31Speaker 2: it's an organization that is believed in passing the football
- 9:34Speaker 2: dating back to Dandy Reid has been here. They're gonna
- 9:38Speaker 2: pass the ball a lot, and they, I think, believe
- 9:41Speaker 2: in pass thing to set up the run, as you know,
- 9:43Speaker 2: whereas I think the more traditional old school mindset is
- 9:46Speaker 2: just the opposite. I think you all just want to
- 9:47Speaker 2: you know, pass a lot, get out to these big leads,
- 9:49Speaker 2: and then run the ball late in the game to help,
- 9:51Speaker 2: you know, run out the clock, to salt the game away,
- 9:52Speaker 2: to control the clock.
- 9:53Speaker 3: All those things.
- 9:54Speaker 2: Obviously there's gonna be not I mean, they're not gonna
- 9:56Speaker 2: run the ball at all early on, but I don't
- 9:58Speaker 2: think it's gonna be like you know, it's the is
- 10:00Speaker 2: the foundation of this offense. When you're paying Jale Hurts
- 10:03Speaker 2: all this money and you're paying Dvante Smith all this money,
- 10:05Speaker 2: and you're paying A. J. Brown all this money to
- 10:06Speaker 2: do their jobs, and they're obviously very excellent, awesome players. Yeah,
- 10:10Speaker 2: I'm fascinated to see Saquon's usage. I just don't think
- 10:14Speaker 2: it's gonna be in the way that you know, the
- 10:16Speaker 2: Giants were using him, or when people talk about like
- 10:18Speaker 2: a twenty carry per game running back, That's just not
- 10:21Speaker 2: how the Eagles have really operated for a long time.
- 10:24Speaker 2: I just and also not that they think Kenny Game
- 10:27Speaker 2: was a star, but like they do like him as
- 10:29Speaker 2: a role player on the offense, so he's gonna play
- 10:31Speaker 2: more than not at all. It's not gonna be like
- 10:32Speaker 2: Saquon is literally the only running back checking the ball
- 10:35Speaker 2: the entire game. So I do you know, I think
- 10:38Speaker 2: you're maybe looking maybe like sixteen to eighteen somewhere in
- 10:40Speaker 2: that range for Saquon touches last carries, however you want
- 10:43Speaker 2: to parse that. I thought Saquon had kind of not
- 10:46Speaker 2: like a bad training camp by any means. And I
- 10:48Speaker 2: will add the caveat that it's kind of hard to
- 10:51Speaker 2: evaluate running backs and training camp when they're not tackling,
- 10:53Speaker 2: you know, and there's only someone you can kind of
- 10:55Speaker 2: evaluate in that setting, but I don't think he like
- 10:58Speaker 2: popped in this huge way where it was like, oh
- 10:59Speaker 2: my gosh, this guy is electric, dynamic, like just can't
- 11:03Speaker 2: miss kind of player, and in the way that like
- 11:05Speaker 2: Kenny Gainwell had a really good final training camp in
- 11:08Speaker 2: practice and I'm not saying game was better than Saquon,
- 11:09Speaker 2: but I was kind of just like waiting for that
- 11:11Speaker 2: moment or that practice from Saquon at some point this
- 11:14Speaker 2: offseason and never really saw that. And maybe he's you know,
- 11:16Speaker 2: pacing himself and saving it for the regular season. He
- 11:18Speaker 2: really turns it on absolutely possible, But I just think
- 11:22Speaker 2: I think the expectations for Saquon generally from fantasy, from
- 11:25Speaker 2: fans and everything, are like a little bit high because
- 11:28Speaker 2: of the perception of him Penn State thing, coming back
- 11:30Speaker 2: to Philly wanting to take it to the Giants. I
- 11:32Speaker 2: think he's going to be a good, slash fine player
- 11:34Speaker 2: this year. I don't know he's going to be like
- 11:36Speaker 2: the best running back in the NFL or like maybe
- 11:38Speaker 2: top five even necessarily as a guarantee, but yeah, I
- 11:41Speaker 2: mean the running game is obviously a big part of
- 11:43Speaker 2: this team when it comes to ideally trying to salt
- 11:47Speaker 2: those leads away.
- 11:48Speaker 1: Well, I'm a Penn State guys, you can see right here.
- 11:51Speaker 1: I cannot wait. I'm going up to the game this
- 11:53Speaker 1: week with my family and I cannot wait to see
- 11:55Speaker 1: what Saquon Barkley does this coming year for sure. But
- 11:58Speaker 1: let's move over to the defense here. Only six other
- 12:01Speaker 1: teams gave up more total yards than the Eagles defense
- 12:03Speaker 1: last year, and they gave up the second most yards
- 12:06Speaker 1: and touchdowns through the air. I mean, it was abysmal,
- 12:09Speaker 1: as we all remember in terms of that defense, just
- 12:14Speaker 1: absolutely collapsing at certain key moments. It was a weaker
- 12:17Speaker 1: pass rush last season though what we saw in twenty
- 12:20Speaker 1: twenty two as well. And now there's no Hassan Redick,
- 12:23Speaker 1: there's no Fletcher Cox, So Bilg, I have a genuine
- 12:27Speaker 1: concern about where the pressure is really going to consistently
- 12:31Speaker 1: come from with regard to the defense this season. I've
- 12:33Speaker 1: been talking about it on this podcast platform for some
- 12:35Speaker 1: time throughout this offseason. What are your thoughts on what
- 12:39Speaker 1: we may or may not see from this defensive front.
- 12:42Speaker 2: Yeah, I think it's a very valid concern when you
- 12:44Speaker 2: use when you lose a player who has the fourth
- 12:47Speaker 2: most saxon the NFL IS in twenty twenty. Yeah, in
- 12:50Speaker 2: hasan reddick and is this a proven commodity. I think
- 12:52Speaker 2: Bryce Huff has the potential to be good, but it's
- 12:55Speaker 2: a production. He has not done it before. The Eagles
- 12:57Speaker 2: are taking a player who has been a role player,
- 13:00Speaker 2: part time player and hoping slash projecting, counting on he
- 13:05Speaker 2: will be also good when you increase his snap count.
- 13:07Speaker 2: That might be the case. Sometimes you have these guys
- 13:10Speaker 2: really good in a small sample, give them more playing time,
- 13:12Speaker 2: Boom they take off. Sometimes it becomes apparent, oh, they
- 13:15Speaker 2: were more meant to be a role player and a
- 13:17Speaker 2: true star. So we've seen some good things from Bryce Huff.
- 13:21Speaker 2: Still a lot to prove as the pass rush as
- 13:24Speaker 2: a whole, it seems to be. I think the team
- 13:26Speaker 2: sentiment and messaging is that it's not about that one
- 13:29Speaker 2: dominant player as much as it's going to be like
- 13:32Speaker 2: it takes a village, It's going to be kind of
- 13:34Speaker 2: a group effort, everyone pitching in.
- 13:37Speaker 3: Everyone.
- 13:37Speaker 2: There's gonna be a rotation there at those spots. Obviously,
- 13:40Speaker 2: you still have Brandy Graham who can contribute. I also
- 13:42Speaker 2: think more than ever the linebackers, the off ball linebackers
- 13:46Speaker 2: are going to be a factor in this past rush.
- 13:47Speaker 2: We saw a lot of blitzing, a lot more music
- 13:50Speaker 2: Diegle Sanziers, a lot of blitzing from Vic Fangio in
- 13:53Speaker 2: training camp, and they have And part of it is
- 13:55Speaker 2: I don't think just because of like, hey, a philosophical
- 13:58Speaker 2: we want to blitz. It's like the Kobe Dean, Zach
- 14:01Speaker 2: Bond who has been a pass rusher in his career,
- 14:05Speaker 2: Jeremiah Chrotter Junior. These are guys who ken blitz. They're
- 14:08Speaker 2: really good at doing that. They're good at operating downhill.
- 14:10Speaker 2: So I definitely think that's going to be a new
- 14:12Speaker 2: factor than what we're used to. So I can't say
- 14:15Speaker 2: like I'm supremely confident in this pass rush, especially when
- 14:19Speaker 2: they don't have that star player. But I guess when
- 14:21Speaker 2: you think about it, you look back at twenty seventeen
- 14:24Speaker 2: when the Eagles won the Super Bowl, like they didn't
- 14:26Speaker 2: really have that guy either, right, There wasn't like there
- 14:28Speaker 2: wasn't Hussant, that one dominant player. They'd brought a depth there,
- 14:32Speaker 2: you know, between Chris Long and Vinnie Curry and Brandy
- 14:35Speaker 2: Graham and everyone they had, you know, certainly a very
- 14:37Speaker 2: good rotation, no, make no mistake about it, but I
- 14:40Speaker 2: think they you know, that team was built on a rotation.
- 14:43Speaker 2: I think this team's going to be built on a
- 14:45Speaker 2: rotation as well. And there's still a lot to prove,
- 14:48Speaker 2: but it is possible. It clicks with the rotation.
- 14:51Speaker 1: You have preservation of health too, and I think that's
- 14:53Speaker 1: that's a responsible aspect of any defensive coordinator. I think
- 14:57Speaker 1: in the NFL these days and again, folks were talking
- 15:00Speaker 1: to Brandon lee gouton BLG from Bleedinggreen Nation dot com.
- 15:03Speaker 1: Head on over there and check out everything they have
- 15:05Speaker 1: going on. Great great content as always, And as we're
- 15:08Speaker 1: moving along with the conversation, if you had to say
- 15:11Speaker 1: which position group is going to be more of a
- 15:13Speaker 1: liability on the defense this season, would you say it's
- 15:16Speaker 1: the linebackers or the secondary BLG, Because like, even though
- 15:21Speaker 1: Sligh and CJ. Gardner Johnson are really really good players,
- 15:25Speaker 1: there's a lot of young talent. There's a lot of
- 15:27Speaker 1: talent that hasn't proven much in the NFL. So I'm
- 15:30Speaker 1: wondering which group do you think is going to be
- 15:33Speaker 1: more of a liability heading into the season, Because again,
- 15:35Speaker 1: a lot of unknowns with this defense. What are your thoughts?
- 15:38Speaker 2: That's a really good question because I think, you know,
- 15:40Speaker 2: it's hard to disassume the linebackers are actually good for
- 15:42Speaker 2: the Philadelphia Eagles.
- 15:43Speaker 3: Yeah, until we see it.
- 15:45Speaker 2: I do think pretty much every off ball linebacker on
- 15:48Speaker 2: the team had an encouraging training camp overall, and Kobe
- 15:51Speaker 2: Dean at a rough start, he started to come on
- 15:53Speaker 2: later in camp and looks he was a really good
- 15:55Speaker 2: playing downhill, whether that's you know, rallying to the ball,
- 15:59Speaker 2: seeing it in coverage coming downhill making a tackle, or
- 16:02Speaker 2: in the rung game or as a blitzer. Still kind
- 16:04Speaker 2: of wonder a little bit about Nikobe Dean dropping back
- 16:07Speaker 2: into coverage that just was really not his drums scared. Yeah,
- 16:11Speaker 2: I mean this kind of makes sense too. He's a
- 16:12Speaker 2: smaller guy, he's not the best athlete, so it kind
- 16:14Speaker 2: of fits with you know why you would understand why
- 16:16Speaker 2: that would be the case. But did finish camp strong.
- 16:20Speaker 2: So intrigued by that, and also I just think, like
- 16:23Speaker 2: I don't think the linebackers need to be you know,
- 16:26Speaker 2: it's not like you need Fred Warner to have a
- 16:28Speaker 2: good defense, So that would help a lot for sure,
- 16:30Speaker 2: don't get me wrong, but I don't think that's like
- 16:32Speaker 2: the standard that they should be held to. Where's the cornerbacks?
- 16:36Speaker 2: I also think there was positive things there, but I
- 16:38Speaker 2: think there's some volative There might be more volative from
- 16:40Speaker 2: the standpoint of Darius Lay. No sign to me that
- 16:44Speaker 2: he's like cooked, can't play anymore, the same way that
- 16:46Speaker 2: you know it's all James Bradbury fall off a cliff.
- 16:48Speaker 2: But the point there is I think he turns thirty
- 16:50Speaker 2: three thirty four in January. Like cornerbacks do not age
- 16:54Speaker 2: well typically, so that is something to monitor, especially over
- 16:57Speaker 2: the course of the season. Obviously he was dealing with
- 16:59Speaker 2: an injury last year. We'll see how he holds up physically.
- 17:02Speaker 2: Quinnon Mitchell, I think probably couldn't be more realistically encouraging
- 17:06Speaker 2: from what we've seen. But he's also a rookie who
- 17:08Speaker 2: is being as yeah playing he's gonna be playing nickel
- 17:13Speaker 2: potentially and outside that's a lot for a rookie. He
- 17:15Speaker 2: might be able to handle it. He might be awesome,
- 17:17Speaker 2: but like that's a projection there. Isaiah Rodgers, ilight was
- 17:20Speaker 2: encouraged by We'll see if he is that top guy.
- 17:23Speaker 2: If Quinon's going to be rotating into the slot in
- 17:25Speaker 2: Nickel and Rogers comes in to play the outside. There's
- 17:27Speaker 2: reasons to be optimistic, I guess, but I could see
- 17:30Speaker 2: a scenario where those cornerback things don't quite click and
- 17:34Speaker 2: the past defense is an issue once again.
- 17:36Speaker 1: Well, I guess the overall question here before I let
- 17:39Speaker 1: you go blg and is your thoughts on how this
- 17:43Speaker 1: Eagles season may end. Do you think they're going to
- 17:45Speaker 1: get into the playoffs? Does Nick Sirianni keep his job?
- 17:48Speaker 1: Can they make it all the way to the NFC Championship?
- 17:52Speaker 1: When you have your crystal ball in front of you there,
- 17:54Speaker 1: my friend, what are your thoughts? What are your projections
- 17:56Speaker 1: with regard to this team?
- 17:58Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 17:58Speaker 2: So I've been getting a lot of heats predicting the
- 18:00Speaker 2: Eagles to lose to the Packers in Week one, all right,
- 18:03Speaker 2: But my thing with that is, like, that's not an
- 18:05Speaker 2: indictment of the Eagles to me.
- 18:07Speaker 3: I just think the Packers are really good.
- 18:08Speaker 1: They're a good team.
- 18:09Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 18:09Speaker 2: I did my NFL power rankings on Bleeding your Nation.
- 18:11Speaker 2: I had the Packers second. They're my top team in
- 18:13Speaker 2: the NFC. I think they're a really good team. They
- 18:15Speaker 2: finished last year incredibly strong. Jordan Love literally looked exactly
- 18:19Speaker 2: like Aaron Rodgers at times. It was really scary to see. Honestly.
- 18:22Speaker 1: Yep.
- 18:23Speaker 2: I think the Packers out Like, first of all, they
- 18:25Speaker 2: crushed the Cowboys in Dallas. That was really impressive. The
- 18:27Speaker 2: Cowboys always choked, but like they stomped them in their
- 18:30Speaker 2: own stadium. And then they I thought they outplayed the Niners.
- 18:33Speaker 2: They obviously lost to the Niners, but I thought like
- 18:34Speaker 2: the Packers looked like the better team for a big
- 18:37Speaker 2: portion of that game up until the end there. So
- 18:39Speaker 2: I think the pack and they're a really young team,
- 18:41Speaker 2: so I think they're only going to get better. I
- 18:43Speaker 2: think the Packers are going to take a big step
- 18:44Speaker 2: forward anyway. So I have the Eagles losing that first game,
- 18:47Speaker 2: but at the same time, I have that as like
- 18:49Speaker 2: one of their four losses this year, so I think
- 18:51Speaker 2: they're going to bounce back. I think they're going to
- 18:53Speaker 2: be really good. Thirteen wins. Thirteen and four feels a
- 18:56Speaker 2: little rich to me, but that's my production production that
- 18:59Speaker 2: I had when I did the game by game analysis
- 19:02Speaker 2: when the schedule came out back in May, and I
- 19:05Speaker 2: like wanted to lower it to twelve and five. Just
- 19:07Speaker 2: from a standpoint of maybe I'm being too much like
- 19:09Speaker 2: of a Homer here drinking the kool aid, But I
- 19:11Speaker 2: feel good about this team coming out of training camp.
- 19:13Speaker 2: Like I said, Jalen Hurts look good, They're healthy, knock
- 19:16Speaker 2: on wood. For the most part, the vibe seem to
- 19:19Speaker 2: be good. Like, why would I make my projection worse
- 19:22Speaker 2: when I feel good about the outlook here? So I
- 19:25Speaker 2: think they're gonna be a pretty good team. I think
- 19:28Speaker 2: they're gonna win one playoff game and then unfortunately lose
- 19:32Speaker 2: the next playoff, right, and I think it's gonna put
- 19:35Speaker 2: the Eagles in them probably the worst case scenario, not
- 19:38Speaker 2: from the worst case of like, oh, they lost all
- 19:40Speaker 2: their games and then it's a disaster season. I think
- 19:43Speaker 2: that could be good from a standpoint of they at
- 19:44Speaker 2: least like, Okay, there's clarity, and we need to change
- 19:47Speaker 2: head coach, we need to change some things here. I
- 19:49Speaker 2: think the worst case scenario would be like they get
- 19:52Speaker 2: in this middle ground of like, Okay, they're good, but
- 19:54Speaker 2: then Nick Sirianni was he a big reason why they
- 19:57Speaker 2: can kind of can't get over the hump, and he
- 19:59Speaker 2: didn't give them an edge in that playoff game, and
- 20:01Speaker 2: now what do you do is telling we're going to
- 20:03Speaker 2: get hired somewhere else, Like, what do you do? How
- 20:05Speaker 2: you are going to go through another offensive coordinator change?
- 20:07Speaker 2: I think that would kind of be the worst case scenario.
- 20:10Speaker 2: So in typical Adelphian fashion, that's what I'm going to predict.
- 20:14Speaker 1: BLG Brandon leak out and from Bleedinggreen Nation dot com. Buddy,
- 20:18Speaker 1: it is great talking to you as always. Thanks so
- 20:21Speaker 1: much for jumping on our Eagle season preview here. Looking

- 20:28Speaker 1: It's always a great time talking to BLG. And he
- 20:31Speaker 1: had a lot of great insights, of course, as to
- 20:33Speaker 1: what we're going to be seeing during the course of
- 20:35Speaker 1: this Eagles season. I love his predictions there as well.
- 20:38Speaker 1: I mean, except for the Eagles getting knocked out in
- 20:41Speaker 1: the first round, Well, we'll have to wait and see
- 20:43Speaker 1: what happens there. We'll have to wait and see what
- 20:44Speaker 1: happens there. If you're new to listening to this podcast

- 22:06Speaker 1: My gosh, we've got the whole family here. It's unbelievable.
- 22:09Speaker 1: Haven't had all three of us on since I think
- 22:12Speaker 1: the Super Bowl. Uh, but when the Eagles went to
- 22:15Speaker 1: the Super Bowl. Anyway, len buddy, how you doing, man.
- 22:18Speaker 4: I'd like to address the elephant in the room. Yes,
- 22:21Speaker 4: that Eric Leonard has been ducking my sports acumen for months,
- 22:29Speaker 4: if not years.
- 22:32Speaker 3: He's been ducking my hot take? Was that was that
- 22:37Speaker 3: Dusty Rhodes? It was supposed to be?
- 22:40Speaker 4: No, no, no, that was that was Yeah. Now I'm
- 22:44Speaker 4: hoping this just evolves into me and you like just
- 22:47Speaker 4: yelling at each other, like like Stephen A. Smith and
- 22:50Speaker 4: Skip Bayless and Jeff just not being able to get
- 22:53Speaker 4: a word in edgewise.
- 22:54Speaker 1: You sounded like Dusty Rhoades there though. Yeah. I was
- 22:59Speaker 1: going for that, Are you okay?
- 23:02Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 23:02Speaker 3: No, I just I was not going for that at all.
- 23:05Speaker 4: Maybe I've just watched enough wrestling over the years.
- 23:07Speaker 3: It's just taking over.
- 23:10Speaker 4: Yeah, it's it's just completely just overtaken me.
- 23:14Speaker 1: Eric. Good to see you, my friend. How you doing, buddy.
- 23:17Speaker 5: I had this, I had this pre planned this line,
- 23:19Speaker 5: but uh, leave your boxes at the doors.
- 23:22Speaker 3: Boys.
- 23:22Speaker 5: We got ourselves a threesome. Yes, we haven't done this
- 23:28Speaker 5: together in like a long time, that's why.
- 23:30Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I was actually trying to think earlier today,
- 23:34Speaker 4: like the last time three of us were actually on together.
- 23:38Speaker 1: Remember, it was when I lost my voice. I think
- 23:40Speaker 1: it was when I lost my voice and I could
- 23:42Speaker 1: I could barely do the show, and I'm like, guys,
- 23:43Speaker 1: we can't do the Eagles that were going to Super
- 23:45Speaker 1: Bowl and I can't do the freaking show.
- 23:49Speaker 3: I forgot about that. Unfortunately, came back one day.
- 23:51Speaker 1: I did. Yeah, I know I should have jumped off
- 23:54Speaker 1: the bridge if.
- 23:57Speaker 4: I don't need that, But like, man, if you just
- 23:59Speaker 4: lost your voice.
- 24:00Speaker 3: Forever.
- 24:02Speaker 1: Didn't have to laugh anymore.
- 24:06Speaker 3: He lost the ability to laugh.
- 24:10Speaker 1: All right, Well, let's get into our Eagles predictions, some
- 24:12Speaker 1: NFL predictions here. Let's start with this Eagles team and
- 24:15Speaker 1: what we're gonna be seeing again. It was a great,
- 24:17Speaker 1: great discussion I had with BLG and interesting how he
- 24:22Speaker 1: believes the Eagles are gonna win thirteen games this year,
- 24:25Speaker 1: and we're certainly gonna get to our regular season record,
- 24:27Speaker 1: But he doesn't believe the Eagles are gonna beat the
- 24:28Speaker 1: Green Bay Packers, and the Green Bay Packers are certainly
- 24:31Speaker 1: going to be a powerhouse team this coming season. But
- 24:33Speaker 1: with that said, we're gonna get into those NFL predictions
- 24:37Speaker 1: in a bit, Eagles predictions. Guys, who do you think
- 24:40Speaker 1: is going to be the offensive MVP of this season?
- 24:43Speaker 1: Eric Buddy, I'll start with you.
- 24:46Speaker 5: I think it's gonna be Saquon Barkley. I think his
- 24:48Speaker 5: his impact on this team is going to be huge.
- 24:51Speaker 5: They've they've never had someone like him. I mean it's
- 24:56Speaker 5: maybe some running backs in their in their history, like
- 24:59Speaker 5: going back to wolver Montgomery. I mean, they've never had
- 25:01Speaker 5: an athlete like this that can catch the ball out
- 25:03Speaker 5: of the backfield. And Saran Stacey, Anthony Tony. I'm going
- 25:11Speaker 5: through the greats here, But I do think Saquan is
- 25:14Speaker 5: gonna be is gonna have a huge impact on this offense.
- 25:17Speaker 3: I think it's gonna be shaky at first.
- 25:19Speaker 5: We've discussed the offensive line concerns Jeff the past couple
- 25:22Speaker 5: of weeks, but I think his his presence will actually
- 25:27Speaker 5: help the offensive line and some of the just some
- 25:29Speaker 5: of the things are gonna be missing with Kelsey not
- 25:31Speaker 5: no longer there, and some you know.
- 25:34Speaker 3: We've talked about the oh.
- 25:37Speaker 5: My gosh, McKay Bectonky Becton, scary, scary, scary that he's
- 25:44Speaker 5: involved in this in this entire season. But I think
- 25:47Speaker 5: is gonna alleviate some of those issues. He'll think he'll
- 25:50Speaker 5: be the offensive MVP.
- 25:52Speaker 1: All right, Len, who do you think that offensive MVP
- 25:54Speaker 1: is going to be.
- 25:56Speaker 4: I don't know why I feel this, but I just
- 26:00Speaker 4: feel like Devonte Smith is really gonna maybe be like
- 26:03Speaker 4: the breakout player of the entire league this year.
- 26:08Speaker 3: I don't know why I think this.
- 26:10Speaker 4: I just think he's gonna just go nuts to the
- 26:12Speaker 4: point where he you know, I feel like there's co
- 26:15Speaker 4: number one receivers to begin with on this team, but
- 26:18Speaker 4: I feel like Devonte Smith is really gonna just stand
- 26:22Speaker 4: out this year. I could also believe Hurts, but I
- 26:27Speaker 4: have him in mind for something else here.
- 26:29Speaker 1: Okay, all right, I think it's gonna be aj Brown.
- 26:32Speaker 1: I think he is going to take over and potentially
- 26:34Speaker 1: be the number one receiver in the league. Move over
- 26:38Speaker 1: Tyreek Hill, you know, move over ceed Lamb. I think
- 26:41Speaker 1: it's gonna be a J. Brown that really does take
- 26:44Speaker 1: this team to the next level. That connection with Jalen
- 26:48Speaker 1: Hurts and.
- 26:51Speaker 3: A J.
- 26:51Speaker 1: Brown. I think we are going to see that manifest
- 26:53Speaker 1: into something very very special. So let's move on to
- 26:59Speaker 1: the defensive MVP of this Eagles team is going to
- 27:02Speaker 1: be this year. Eric, I'll start with you, who do
- 27:03Speaker 1: you think that's gonna be.
- 27:05Speaker 5: I think it's gonna be the big man in the middle.
- 27:07Speaker 5: I think Carter is gonna have a monster year. I
- 27:10Speaker 5: think that was one of the smarter moves in you know,
- 27:15Speaker 5: recent draft history.
- 27:16Speaker 3: I know he wore down last year.
- 27:19Speaker 5: Or not not drafted, but like like draft history past
- 27:21Speaker 5: like ten years, that little trade up to get to
- 27:23Speaker 5: get Carter two years ago, I think that was a
- 27:27Speaker 5: massive And you see some of the other teams that
- 27:29Speaker 5: passed on him right now, like really lacking at defensive
- 27:32Speaker 5: tackle or the defensive line in general, Like the Bears
- 27:35Speaker 5: should have just taken him, the Falcons should have just
- 27:37Speaker 5: taken them, right Yeah, And I think they made a
- 27:39Speaker 5: grave air And I think he had a rough rookie
- 27:41Speaker 5: year because he got tired, like I said, and the
- 27:43Speaker 5: whole team just kind of fell apart last year and
- 27:45Speaker 5: his his his kind of his kind of end of season,
- 27:50Speaker 5: that kind of demise, you know, it was kind of
- 27:51Speaker 5: part of that. But I think he's I think he's
- 27:53Speaker 5: boys at like BA just dominant tackle with with the
- 27:58Speaker 5: guy from the Aaron Donald who retiring. Yeah, so that
- 28:01Speaker 5: that best defensive tackle thing is kind of up in
- 28:03Speaker 5: the air. I think he grabs the mantle. I think
- 28:05Speaker 5: he has a monster year and I think he's going
- 28:07Speaker 5: to be there MVP for defense.
- 28:09Speaker 1: Nice Len, what do you think defensive MVP for the Eagles.
- 28:14Speaker 4: It's funny because we have the same position from the
- 28:19Speaker 4: same college, but I have Jordan Davis. I think that he,
- 28:24Speaker 4: you know, realizes how much he kind of fell off
- 28:26Speaker 4: towards the end of last year. I think he is
- 28:30Speaker 4: going to kind of take that personally and do what
- 28:33Speaker 4: he needs to do to kind of make sure that
- 28:35Speaker 4: that doesn't repeat itself and really just kind of make
- 28:38Speaker 4: sure he's a little bit more of a complete.
- 28:40Speaker 3: Player this year.
- 28:41Speaker 4: And I think he's going to be a guy that,
- 28:42Speaker 4: you know, it's not like a guy that constantly shows
- 28:46Speaker 4: up in the stats and he doesn't have huge numbers.
- 28:48Speaker 3: But if you watch them play and.
- 28:50Speaker 4: You see kind of the attention that he kind of commands,
- 28:54Speaker 4: how it frees up everybody else, I'm going I think they're.
- 28:58Speaker 3: Both going to be really good.
- 28:59Speaker 4: I think they're going to be the you know, the
- 29:02Speaker 4: fulkrim of the defense and the bright spot of the defense.
- 29:05Speaker 4: But in this case, I'm gonna go Jordan Davis.
- 29:07Speaker 1: I think it's a good pick. And I got to
- 29:08Speaker 1: tell you talking to BLG lenn and Eric like just
- 29:11Speaker 1: talking about how concerned I am with this pass rush.
- 29:15Speaker 1: And you know, we know that this is this is
- 29:17Speaker 1: an Eagles team that I mean except for one year.
- 29:19Speaker 1: You know, they were the obviously they were the sack
- 29:21Speaker 1: leaders in the league. But a defense that traditionally is
- 29:25Speaker 1: not really getting too too many sacks. We didn't see
- 29:27Speaker 1: too too many sacks last season. I am worried and
- 29:31Speaker 1: concerned still about this pass rush. But I got to
- 29:33Speaker 1: tell you my defensive MVP I think is gonna be CJ.
- 29:37Speaker 1: Gardner Johnson coming back to the team. He had six
- 29:40Speaker 1: interceptions during his twenty twenty two stint with the Eagles.
- 29:45Speaker 1: I think he's going to bring that same intensity and
- 29:47Speaker 1: he's gonna need to bring that same type of play
- 29:49Speaker 1: to the field if this secondary is going to have
- 29:52Speaker 1: any type of real success. I mean, god, the secondary
- 29:56Speaker 1: last year, as we know and remember, was abysmal. They
- 29:58Speaker 1: were terrible. However, I think him coming back really sets
- 30:03Speaker 1: the stage for more turnovers with interceptions. You know, he's
- 30:08Speaker 1: really great at going up to the catch point. He
- 30:11Speaker 1: is really great at breaking up passes. I think it's
- 30:13Speaker 1: gonna be CJ. Gardner Johnson any responses with that.
- 30:19Speaker 4: Well, you brought up the the the pass rush, Like, hell,
- 30:23Speaker 4: how worried are you about the age rushers? Just because
- 30:26Speaker 4: I look at I got the depth chart in front
- 30:28Speaker 4: of me, and just from an edge rusher standpoint, I'm not,
- 30:33Speaker 4: you know, really that blown over blown away by it.
- 30:36Speaker 1: I guess I'm not either.
- 30:38Speaker 3: That do you both? You guys feel that way?
- 30:40Speaker 1: Yeah? Concern at a uh, eight out of ten, that's
- 30:45Speaker 1: what That's how I'm concerned. That's how much I'm concerned
- 30:47Speaker 1: about the pass rush at this point. When you lose
- 30:48Speaker 1: this on Reddick, that's huge. You lose Fletcher Cox, that's
- 30:51Speaker 1: absolutely huge. Eight out of ten for me. What do
- 30:53Speaker 1: you think, Eric?
- 30:55Speaker 3: What the our defense overall or no?
- 30:58Speaker 1: Just like the front of the pass for the edge.
- 31:01Speaker 4: Yeah, Edgers like that kind of thing.
- 31:03Speaker 3: It's I think it's huge.
- 31:06Speaker 5: I mean I was going to get into it my
- 31:07Speaker 5: dark horse MVP, but I, like I said the past
- 31:11Speaker 5: few weeks, I think the pressure up the middle is
- 31:14Speaker 5: where the entire everything, everything that Vic Fangy wants to
- 31:19Speaker 5: do is kind of contingent on what the middle does. Yeah,
- 31:22Speaker 5: talking Davis and Carter, and if they don't perform, I
- 31:24Speaker 5: think it's going to affect everything, especially your edge rush
- 31:27Speaker 5: because you are so thin up there, and.
- 31:29Speaker 3: You got Brandon Graham who's like our age, right.
- 31:32Speaker 5: I think I think it all hinges on what those
- 31:34Speaker 5: middle guys are going to do in London and I
- 31:35Speaker 5: both think they might beat the MVPs of the defense.
- 31:38Speaker 5: So I think the defense is going to take a
- 31:40Speaker 5: huge step forward this year because they started out good
- 31:43Speaker 5: last year, but they also played with a lot of leads,
- 31:45Speaker 5: you know, so they were able to here we go, Jeff,
- 31:48Speaker 5: here's our first cliche, pin their ears back. I love it,
- 31:54Speaker 5: and uh, but I I think you know, Fletcher Cox
- 31:58Speaker 5: did kind of kind of he kind of put a
- 32:01Speaker 5: sav kind of hid some of those those blemishes right
- 32:05Speaker 5: throughout the last year. Yeah, So I think because they're
- 32:08Speaker 5: gonna have such a good year, I think the edge
- 32:10Speaker 5: rush is going to be okay, and they also beefed
- 32:12Speaker 5: up their secondary, so again, I think this defense is
- 32:16Speaker 5: going to take a huge leap forward, whereas the offense
- 32:19Speaker 5: will probably kind of be where it was last year,
- 32:21Speaker 5: not at the end of the year, but maybe kind
- 32:23Speaker 5: of in the middle. I don't see them being a
- 32:25Speaker 5: breakout thing, but I think it's going to be kind
- 32:27Speaker 5: of but an improven over how they finished up last year.
- 32:30Speaker 1: All right, all right, very good. A comeback kid this year, Len,
- 32:35Speaker 1: Who do you think is going to be the comeback
- 32:37Speaker 1: kid this year on the Philadelphia Eagles?
- 32:40Speaker 4: To me, this is where I have Jalen Hurts, and
- 32:44Speaker 4: if he is the comeback kid this year, then chances
- 32:46Speaker 4: are he's got a pretty damn good shot to be
- 32:49Speaker 4: in the offensive MVP as well. But when I think
- 32:52Speaker 4: of him with this, you know, the comeback kid, it's
- 32:57Speaker 4: not so much staff to me as it is just,
- 33:00Speaker 4: you know, there were times when he just you know,
- 33:02Speaker 4: especially towards end of the year when you're trying to
- 33:04Speaker 4: play hero ball and all that stuff, and I think
- 33:07Speaker 4: he's gonna do a better job of reigning it in
- 33:09Speaker 4: this year. So I think there's just gonna be less
- 33:11Speaker 4: of the mistakes that you saw last year. And I
- 33:15Speaker 4: think that that's where I'm getting that from.
- 33:17Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, very good. I like your pick there, I
- 33:21Speaker 1: really do, because like he's got a like BLG and
- 33:24Speaker 1: I were talking about, you know, fifteen interceptions previous two seasons.
- 33:28Speaker 1: He has got to cut down on the turnovers, and
- 33:30Speaker 1: if he does that, he's gonna have a pretty damn
- 33:32Speaker 1: successful year. I think, Eric, who's your comeback kid of
- 33:34Speaker 1: the year.
- 33:36Speaker 5: I'm kind of cheating here because he never really had
- 33:40Speaker 5: a had a had a kid year, right, Okay, and
- 33:44Speaker 5: they actually had Yeah, I'm saying like he never really
- 33:47Speaker 5: had a big year, but he's kind of been under
- 33:49Speaker 5: the microscope since he got here. I think Nikobe Dean
- 33:53Speaker 5: is going to be your comeback kid of the year
- 33:55Speaker 5: just just for the simple fact. I think he's actually
- 33:57Speaker 5: gonna have a good year.
- 33:58Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 33:58Speaker 5: I think we talked about on the show couple weeks now,
- 34:01Speaker 5: whereas this is kind of it for him.
- 34:03Speaker 3: Yeah, I know he's.
- 34:03Speaker 5: Only twenty four years old, his third year in the league,
- 34:06Speaker 5: but he has been that guy, like man, we took
- 34:09Speaker 5: you early. You showed a lot of promise, and you're
- 34:12Speaker 5: just kind of not there. He had he has had
- 34:14Speaker 5: a good spring or summer or whatever, and I think, again,
- 34:18Speaker 5: I'm cheating because he never had a good year. I
- 34:20Speaker 5: think he's going to be the comeback kid of the
- 34:21Speaker 5: year just because of the reactions to his performance so far.
- 34:23Speaker 3: I think he's gonna have a good year.
- 34:25Speaker 1: All right, very good. I like it. I like that.
- 34:27Speaker 1: Pick a lot for me, guys. I'm going with Dallas
- 34:30Speaker 1: Goddard being the comeback kid. In twenty twenty one. He
- 34:33Speaker 1: had eight hundred and thirty yards on the year, twenty
- 34:36Speaker 1: twenty two seven hundred and two yards. Last year five
- 34:40Speaker 1: hundred and ninety two yards. Dallas Goddard has been trending downwards,
- 34:44Speaker 1: but I think with Kellen Moore running this offense, he's
- 34:47Speaker 1: going to get the tight ends involved. We know that
- 34:49Speaker 1: he loved getting the tight ends involved a lot, specifically
- 34:52Speaker 1: when he was in Dallas. You know, Dallas Goddard not
- 34:55Speaker 1: a touchdown king by any stretch at all. Twenty twenty
- 34:58Speaker 1: one he had four and then the previous two years
- 35:00Speaker 1: three touchdowns in both twenty twenty two, twenty twenty three.
- 35:05Speaker 1: I think with this offense and what Kellen Moore is
- 35:08Speaker 1: going to want to do, Dallas Goddard is going to
- 35:10Speaker 1: be a lot more involved. I'm thinking we may see
- 35:12Speaker 1: a player with over eight hundred yards eight hundred and
- 35:15Speaker 1: fifty yards quite frankly when it comes to Dallas Goddard,
- 35:18Speaker 1: making him my comeback kid. So those are my thoughts there,
- 35:21Speaker 1: but I like both of your both of your choices
- 35:24Speaker 1: as well. Let's get to the rising star this season.
- 35:29Speaker 1: Who do you think the rising star is going to
- 35:30Speaker 1: be for this Philadelphia Eagles team? Eric, I'll let you
- 35:32Speaker 1: go this time.
- 35:33Speaker 5: I really wanted to say kennyon Mitchell. Yeah, think they
- 35:38Speaker 5: drafted first round. Everything I hear from him is his
- 35:41Speaker 5: attitude is phenomenal. He's always telling the press, I'll play
- 35:45Speaker 5: wherever they want me to play.
- 35:46Speaker 3: I'll do whatever they want me to do.
- 35:47Speaker 1: And I love that.
- 35:50Speaker 5: And he's coming in as kind of a veteran, already
- 35:52Speaker 5: kind of rookie. You know, he's not young, so but
- 35:55Speaker 5: I honestly think that because the exit of Jason Kelcey
- 36:00Speaker 5: and Lane Johnson kind of getting a little older, I
- 36:03Speaker 5: think Jordan Mylotta is going to be kind of one
- 36:06Speaker 5: of the rising stars of the offensive line across the
- 36:09Speaker 5: NFL landscape.
- 36:11Speaker 3: I think it's built. I think it's set up for
- 36:12Speaker 3: him perfectly.
- 36:13Speaker 5: Yeah, to kind of take on like, oh my god,
- 36:16Speaker 5: is he the best tackle in football kind of situation.
- 36:19Speaker 5: And if I predict that Saquon Barklay and Jalen Hurts
- 36:23Speaker 5: have huge years, he's gonna be a big part of that.
- 36:25Speaker 5: And you know, eventually he's gonna have to transfer over
- 36:27Speaker 5: to Lane Johnson's position once he leaves. I think this
- 36:30Speaker 5: is the year that he kind of like kind of
- 36:33Speaker 5: you know, cements his his status in the league is
- 36:36Speaker 5: one of the best tackles.
- 36:36Speaker 3: I think it's gonna be a huge year for him.
- 36:38Speaker 1: I love that pick because I'll Len, I'll let you
- 36:42Speaker 1: go in a bit, but my pick actually has something
- 36:44Speaker 1: to do with what you were just saying, Eric, So, Len,
- 36:47Speaker 1: who do you think the rising star is going to
- 36:48Speaker 1: be here for this Philadelphia Eagles team.
- 36:51Speaker 4: Well, it's funny, much like Eric was saying everything about
- 36:57Speaker 4: Quinny and Mitchell's makeup to me, says, Okay, this guy
- 37:02Speaker 4: isn't really going to have, you know, as much of
- 37:04Speaker 4: a tough rookie transition as your typical rookie would have.
- 37:08Speaker 4: I think, just the way he is, I think he's
- 37:12Speaker 4: just ready for the league. So I was inclined to
- 37:15Speaker 4: say him. But I think and I don't think this
- 37:18Speaker 4: is you know, across a national level. I don't think
- 37:21Speaker 4: you know, you know, somebody that's like a Titans or
- 37:23Speaker 4: a Rams fan is going to know this guy. I
- 37:25Speaker 4: don't think he's going to be you know, on a
- 37:27Speaker 4: national level, but I think just the Eagles fans that
- 37:29Speaker 4: watch his team weekend and week out, I think are
- 37:32Speaker 4: going to see a little bit of a.
- 37:35Speaker 3: Rise with to me, Milton Williams.
- 37:38Speaker 4: I know that Fangio likes him, and I just think
- 37:41Speaker 4: there's gonna be opportunities there. They're going to you know,
- 37:44Speaker 4: they like coming in waves in terms of the line,
- 37:46Speaker 4: so I think there's gonna be opportunities there whenever Davis
- 37:49Speaker 4: or Carter need a break.
- 37:51Speaker 3: And I think he is going.
- 37:52Speaker 4: To you know, again, not on a national level, but
- 37:55Speaker 4: the people that watch his team weekend and week out
- 37:57Speaker 4: are going to notice him a little bit more this season.
- 38:01Speaker 1: Well, he's been developing, len I mean, he has been
- 38:04Speaker 1: developing really well over these past couple seasons, and he's
- 38:07Speaker 1: been making stops when he needs to make stops or
- 38:10Speaker 1: when he's in the position to do it. I think
- 38:13Speaker 1: that's a great choice. I really do.
- 38:14Speaker 4: Yeah, And I think with Fletcher Cox out it gives
- 38:17Speaker 4: him more of an opportunity.
- 38:18Speaker 1: Yeah. Absolutely, all right, Well, my pick for rising star
- 38:21Speaker 1: actually goes to something you were saying, Eric, and it
- 38:24Speaker 1: is an offensive lineman, but it's the guy right in
- 38:26Speaker 1: the center, and that's Cam Jurgens. I think Cam Jurgens
- 38:29Speaker 1: is gonna end up being the rising star of this team.
- 38:31Speaker 1: I think after half the season, we're gonna end up saying,
- 38:35Speaker 1: you know what, the middle of this offensive line is
- 38:38Speaker 1: gonna be fine for the next ten years or so.
- 38:40Speaker 1: I think Cam Jurgens he was picked basically by Jason
- 38:44Speaker 1: Kelcey to be the heir apparent. Kelsey absolutely loved what
- 38:47Speaker 1: he saw from him in college and obviously has taught
- 38:51Speaker 1: him a lot. Do I think Cam Jurgens is the
- 38:54Speaker 1: next Jason Kelcey. No, However, I think we are going
- 38:58Speaker 1: to be fine over many, many years with Cam Jurgens
- 39:01Speaker 1: being the center position. And it goes to what you
- 39:03Speaker 1: were saying, Eric, If we're gonna see the success from
- 39:06Speaker 1: Saquon Barkley and Jalen Hurts. It's gonna have to come
- 39:09Speaker 1: from this offensive line. It's gonna have to come from
- 39:11Speaker 1: Jordan Malatta, Landon Dickerson, It's gonna have to come from
- 39:14Speaker 1: somebody like Cam Jurgens, who is right in the middle
- 39:18Speaker 1: calling out, you know what the defense is going to
- 39:20Speaker 1: be doing as well. So I think Cam Jurgens is
- 39:22Speaker 1: gonna be the rising star.
- 39:24Speaker 5: Well, I'll just say it for you. Screw Jason Kelsey, overrated.
- 39:29Speaker 3: Old, It's time for him to go. Right now. You're
- 39:32Speaker 3: trying to say, jee, no, no, he hates them.
- 39:38Speaker 1: All Right, Let's get to the dark horse MVP of
- 39:42Speaker 1: this season for this Eagles team. Len, Who do you
- 39:46Speaker 1: think that's gonna be? Buddy?
- 39:49Speaker 3: Just yeah, kind of a dark horse? I guess. For me,
- 39:53Speaker 3: this is where I have CJ. Gardner Johnson.
- 39:56Speaker 4: I think he is going to kind of I think
- 39:59Speaker 4: I feel like they missed him last year defensively, bring
- 40:04Speaker 4: a little bit of balling back, a little bit of
- 40:07Speaker 4: flagger and attitude back to the defense that it didn't
- 40:10Speaker 4: have last year. And I think I said, I think
- 40:14Speaker 4: they missed him, and I think that's gonna be you know,
- 40:16Speaker 4: is he gonna be the defensive MVP. No, but I
- 40:18Speaker 4: feel like it's like there's gonna be a couple of
- 40:21Speaker 4: times this year where you're like, man, I'm glad this
- 40:23Speaker 4: guy's back.
- 40:23Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 40:24Speaker 1: Yeah, absolutely, It's one of the reasons why I have
- 40:26Speaker 1: him as uh uh, where the heck did I have him? Yes,
- 40:29Speaker 1: defensive m VP, that's right, defensive great points, great points? Eric,
- 40:33Speaker 1: what about you the dark horse MVP this season? Back
- 40:38Speaker 1: to no, I'm kidding.
- 40:39Speaker 3: I'm kidding.
- 40:42Speaker 5: That dude has caught straight since the beginning of training camp.
- 40:45Speaker 3: I gotta stop.
- 40:47Speaker 5: I honestly think it's gonna be uh bryce ofugh. I
- 40:50Speaker 5: think like what we talked about, Like I said, it
- 40:52Speaker 5: tied into my choice for defensive MVP. I think Jaalen
- 40:55Speaker 5: Card's gonna monster year. I think Davis could only play better.
- 41:00Speaker 5: They needed it last year. He is a house down there.
- 41:03Speaker 5: If he could just stay in shape and stand on
- 41:05Speaker 5: the field. They have one of the they have the best,
- 41:07Speaker 5: probably one to pack, you know, package a defensive tackle,
- 41:10Speaker 5: which just allows huff to to just dominate. And you
- 41:15Speaker 5: see with this defense, you know what what uh Hassan
- 41:17Speaker 5: Reddick was able to do the past two seasons with
- 41:21Speaker 5: kind of the scheme. I know Fanjo is not the
- 41:22Speaker 5: exact same, but like it, really they're very similar.
- 41:25Speaker 3: Players, but Huff is better and younger.
- 41:27Speaker 5: Yeah, so I think I think if the tacticles do
- 41:29Speaker 5: dominate like they do, and the secondary's better, so they
- 41:32Speaker 5: might be a little afraid to throw the ball down
- 41:34Speaker 5: feel a little more the quarterbacks to playing against. I
- 41:36Speaker 5: think that allows Huff to become like like it set
- 41:39Speaker 5: some up for like fifteen sixteen sacks and all of
- 41:41Speaker 5: a sudden, like we're talking about he's the you know,
- 41:43Speaker 5: one of the best ends.
- 41:44Speaker 3: And is he is?
- 41:45Speaker 5: He is he actually the MVP of the team, even
- 41:47Speaker 5: though Saquon has three thousand yards or whatever. I just
- 41:49Speaker 5: think like Bryce Huff is, like I think he's like
- 41:52Speaker 5: the he's like the natural pick for that dark horse MVP.
- 41:55Speaker 1: I think that it's a great pick. And I'm actually
- 41:57Speaker 1: going on the opposite side of that defense line with mine,
- 42:01Speaker 1: and it's actually Josh Sweat because I look at Josh
- 42:03Speaker 1: Sweat back in twenty twenty two, and yes, I know
- 42:07Speaker 1: I'm going back two years, but eleven sacks, he had
- 42:10Speaker 1: forty eight tackles, thirty one solo tackles, fifteen tackles for
- 42:15Speaker 1: a loss and basically everything that you saw from Josh
- 42:19Speaker 1: Huff was split in half last year. It was a
- 42:21Speaker 1: down year for him. Do I think it was the
- 42:22Speaker 1: defensive coordinator? Absolutely? I mean the defensive coordinator was horrendous
- 42:27Speaker 1: for this Eagles team last year. He only had six
- 42:30Speaker 1: and a half sacks. Last year he had only seven
- 42:34Speaker 1: tackles for a loss. I think Josh Sweat is gonna
- 42:36Speaker 1: get things together and we're gonna see much of what
- 42:39Speaker 1: we saw from him in twenty twenty two with Vic
- 42:43Speaker 1: Fangio and like you said, Eric, having that the strength
- 42:46Speaker 1: of the middle of this defensive line, with Davis and
- 42:51Speaker 1: with oh my gosh, why I'm not forgetting his name,
- 42:53Speaker 1: Jesus John Carter, Jan Carter, thank you. I think it's
- 42:57Speaker 1: really gonna give the ends. As much as I'm concerned
- 42:59Speaker 1: about it, because we just haven't seen these guys perform yet.
- 43:04Speaker 1: Some of the youngest guys in the NFL on a
- 43:06Speaker 1: defensive line, I don't know. I think Josh Sweat could
- 43:09Speaker 1: really be the dark horse MVP of this season. So
- 43:14Speaker 1: before we get to our next break here, we want
- 43:16Speaker 1: to get into our regular season record predictions. Len, what
- 43:21Speaker 1: do you think the regular season is going to bring
- 43:22Speaker 1: to this Philadelphia Eagles team.
- 43:24Speaker 4: In terms of their record, I relatively optimistic. I have
- 43:32Speaker 4: them at twelve and five. I think the losses I
- 43:36Speaker 4: agree with BLG. I think Green Bay is one. I
- 43:39Speaker 4: think they drop one of the two in either Week
- 43:42Speaker 4: three or Week four with New Orleans on the road
- 43:44Speaker 4: at New Orleans or were on the road at Tampa Bay.
- 43:46Speaker 1: Yep.
- 43:47Speaker 3: One of those two games.
- 43:49Speaker 4: I think they split with Dallas, so one of those
- 43:52Speaker 4: two games will be a loss. I think they lose
- 43:55Speaker 4: at Baltimore and I'm going to say at Cincinnati as well. Okay,
- 44:00Speaker 4: I think those those are their five losses for me,
- 44:04Speaker 4: so I'm a twelve and five.
- 44:06Speaker 1: I think it's a twelve and five season as well.
- 44:08Speaker 1: Much of what you're saying, I think they're gonna split,
- 44:11Speaker 1: believe it or not. I think the Commanders are actually
- 44:13Speaker 1: going to be a decent team this year. They have
- 44:15Speaker 1: a quarterback who is going to be I think, legit
- 44:18Speaker 1: in this league, and he's gonna show us some stuff
- 44:20Speaker 1: right off the bat. I think they're gonna be a
- 44:22Speaker 1: twelve and five team, this Eagles team, and get to
- 44:25Speaker 1: the playoffs. Eric, what do you think in here in
- 44:26Speaker 1: terms of the record.
- 44:28Speaker 5: I think eleven and six, mainly because of the beginning
- 44:31Speaker 5: of the season. I have to be I can't be
- 44:34Speaker 5: the only Eagles fan that hates that they're playing in Brazil.
- 44:38Speaker 5: That's terrible for one of our home against a really
- 44:42Speaker 5: damn good Packers team that's young and looking to come
- 44:44Speaker 5: out firing. I think they're gonna have an awesome year,
- 44:47Speaker 5: and I hate that we're starting up against starting out
- 44:49Speaker 5: against them.
- 44:49Speaker 3: I can't stand.
- 44:51Speaker 5: I think that next game is tough. I think they're
- 44:53Speaker 5: gonna be home, but they're gonna be playing a Falcons
- 44:56Speaker 5: team that little revamped. Who knows if Kirk Cousins might
- 45:00Speaker 5: come out firing. I have no idea, Like they're they're
- 45:03Speaker 5: playing teams up like the first two first two weeks,
- 45:06Speaker 5: I'm like, I don't know, like these teams.
- 45:08Speaker 3: Could beat good, have no clue.
- 45:10Speaker 5: I think the sayings they might maybe lose to the Buccaneers,
- 45:14Speaker 5: but then it kind of go on to run then
- 45:16Speaker 5: because like the Browns suck, the Giants suck. I mean,
- 45:20Speaker 5: I the Browns have a good defense, but their their
- 45:23Speaker 5: quarterback is just I don't know what the hell's going
- 45:24Speaker 5: on there, But just you go.
- 45:26Speaker 3: Through the whole the whole schedule.
- 45:28Speaker 5: I don't think the Bengals are going to be as
- 45:30Speaker 5: good as people say. I think the Jags are going
- 45:32Speaker 5: to be shaky. But they got them at home. So
- 45:35Speaker 5: it is really that middle, the middle of the where
- 45:37Speaker 5: they play the Rams in LA and then the and
- 45:39Speaker 5: then Baltimore at Baltimore that that is really tough. Yeah,
- 45:44Speaker 5: but again they split with the Cowboys, so it comes
- 45:47Speaker 5: out to eleven and six. If they go twelve and
- 45:49Speaker 5: five and be shocked, they make the playoffs, and then
- 45:51Speaker 5: who they hell knows after that?
- 45:52Speaker 1: Exactly. All right, Well, we are going to take a
- 45:55Speaker 1: quick break here, We're gonna pay some bills. We'll be
- 45:57Speaker 1: right back. All right, we are back, and now we're
- 46:01Speaker 1: going to get into our NFL predictions for this upcoming season.
- 46:04Speaker 1: Going to go through the each division and see who
- 46:09Speaker 1: are going to be the winners and the wild card
- 46:12Speaker 1: winners as well. So, guys, let's start with the AFC East.
- 46:16Speaker 1: I got the New York Jets winning, Eric, who do
- 46:18Speaker 1: you have?
- 46:20Speaker 5: I think the Bills. I think Josh Allen's going to
- 46:22Speaker 5: be the MVP of the entire league. It's all set
- 46:25Speaker 5: up for him to just have a monster year because
- 46:27Speaker 5: they kind of got rid of everybody. Everyone you know
- 46:30Speaker 5: was saying like this is just kind of a throw
- 46:31Speaker 5: a year going and I was in Buffalo just a
- 46:34Speaker 5: couple of weeks ago.
- 46:35Speaker 3: Yeah, that's not what they think.
- 46:37Speaker 5: I think this is like Josh Allen showed he's going
- 46:39Speaker 5: to like throw for six thousand yards.
- 46:40Speaker 1: Because they have because I got rid of some of
- 46:42Speaker 1: the supporting cast. That's why I don't think they're actually
- 46:44Speaker 1: going to win the division. Actually, so they proved me wrong,
- 46:48Speaker 1: of course, Len, who do you think is going to
- 46:50Speaker 1: win the AFC East?
- 46:53Speaker 4: Yeah, just regarding the Bills, I think I think for
- 46:56Speaker 4: them to win the division, I think Josh Allen is
- 46:58Speaker 4: going to have to be the MVP. I do think
- 47:00Speaker 4: they lost a lot and didn't They're still to play
- 47:03Speaker 4: some I hate this pick because I'm just terrified to
- 47:07Speaker 4: pick them because they are who they are. But the Jets,
- 47:13Speaker 4: the defense is good, skill position is good, as long
- 47:16Speaker 4: as uh, you know, Rogers forty year old body doesn't
- 47:20Speaker 4: betray him. I I just I think they're the most
- 47:22Speaker 4: complete team. And I'm again I'm terrified saying that because
- 47:27Speaker 4: they are the Jets after all.
- 47:28Speaker 1: Yeah, that's that is true. That is true. All Right,
- 47:31Speaker 1: the AFC North, I have got the Baltimore Ravens. Does
- 47:35Speaker 1: anybody disagree with that? In terms of this division?
- 47:39Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 47:40Speaker 1: I know for all Okay, all right, the AFC South,
- 47:45Speaker 1: I'm gonna go with the Texans. I was actually a
- 47:47Speaker 1: little hesitant on this, to be perfectly honest with you,
- 47:50Speaker 1: because I viewed them. They were so incredible last year
- 47:53Speaker 1: and what they did C J. Stroud was amazing. They've
- 47:57Speaker 1: got an incredible wide receiver corps. But they seem to
- 48:01Speaker 1: be one of those teams where they do so well
- 48:03Speaker 1: one year, but then they just kind of crap the
- 48:05Speaker 1: bed the next year because they may have a little
- 48:08Speaker 1: bit maybe a little too arrogant coming into the season
- 48:10Speaker 1: based on what they did last year. But I still
- 48:12Speaker 1: think it's going to be them. It wouldn't surprise me
- 48:14Speaker 1: if they didn't win that division. But I'm gonna go
- 48:17Speaker 1: with the Texans. Who do you guys have for the
- 48:18Speaker 1: AFC South, Len, We'll start with you.
- 48:21Speaker 3: I also have the Texans.
- 48:23Speaker 4: I mean, I like, straight out I think Ryan's is
- 48:26Speaker 4: a good head coach. I think they've done a decent
- 48:29Speaker 4: job with that team. I could yeah, I could be
- 48:32Speaker 4: talking to New a scenario where the Jags beat them
- 48:34Speaker 4: out for the division.
- 48:35Speaker 3: But I'm leaning Texas.
- 48:37Speaker 1: Okay, are you gonna lead Texans to Eric?
- 48:39Speaker 3: I think it's Texans in a runaway Okay.
- 48:42Speaker 5: I think Stroud is poised to be like one of
- 48:45Speaker 5: the top five quarterbacks this year. And then they kind
- 48:47Speaker 5: of overhauled their defense too. Yeah, they brought in some
- 48:50Speaker 5: real talent and I think just like last year was
- 48:54Speaker 5: not a fluke. I feel like to if you want
- 48:58Speaker 5: to put money on them gamblers out there, I think
- 49:01Speaker 5: you're in safe territory.
- 49:02Speaker 1: Okay, all right, very good AFC West. We all have
- 49:05Speaker 1: the Chiefs, right.
- 49:09Speaker 4: I think NFL Coach of the Year Jim.
- 49:12Speaker 1: Harbal Oh my gosh.
- 49:14Speaker 4: I just I just I know how much you hate him,
- 49:17Speaker 4: So I mean, most boring pick on the board.
- 49:21Speaker 3: Yeah, chiefs, I tell you what.
- 49:25Speaker 1: Though.
- 49:25Speaker 5: It's gonna be interesting though the Chargers team because they
- 49:30Speaker 5: they were bad last year and Harbaugh is such a
- 49:33Speaker 5: personality and I read some stack the other day his
- 49:36Speaker 5: first year coaching at college or the pros, like whoever
- 49:40Speaker 5: he's coached his first year, they have always improved.
- 49:43Speaker 3: By like four Yeah, so like I could see them.
- 49:47Speaker 5: Then I went in the division. But he just he
- 49:49Speaker 5: just made a joke that Jeff, you know, Harbaugh could
- 49:52Speaker 5: win the Coach of the Year. It's actually on the table,
- 49:55Speaker 5: my opinion, because of that personality. Because if they if
- 49:58Speaker 5: they improved by like five, win all of a sudden,
- 50:01Speaker 5: like they're nine and eight or ten and seven.
- 50:04Speaker 3: It's like, my god, this asshole.
- 50:06Speaker 5: Is winning winning.
- 50:08Speaker 1: Another uh I know, another championship. Yeah.
- 50:11Speaker 3: Yeah, it's one of the top things. It's not the
- 50:14Speaker 3: top thing I'm rooting for this year.
- 50:15Speaker 4: I'm going to get to that later on, but it's
- 50:17Speaker 4: one of the top things I'm rooting for, just for
- 50:19Speaker 4: how angry it's gonna make Jeff.
- 50:20Speaker 1: God, I want to fart in his face so bad,
- 50:24Speaker 1: I really do.
- 50:25Speaker 3: What a threat?
- 50:26Speaker 1: Yes, all right? Wild cards for the AFC three wild
- 50:33Speaker 1: card teams, guys. I have the Bills, the Bengals, and
- 50:36Speaker 1: I have the Jaguars. I think the Jaguars are going
- 50:39Speaker 1: to be a team that takes a step forward. Doug Peterson,
- 50:42Speaker 1: I think he's been a pretty darn good coach. They
- 50:44Speaker 1: have had some unfortunate injury situations down there, very unlucky
- 50:50Speaker 1: over the past couple of years. But uh, I think
- 50:53Speaker 1: the Jaguars are going to take some steps forward. I
- 50:56Speaker 1: think the Bengals are also going to take some steps
- 50:57Speaker 1: forward as well, especially if Joe Burrow is going to
- 51:01Speaker 1: be healthy. So I've got the Bills, Bengals, and Jags
- 51:03Speaker 1: as my wild card teams. Eric, who do you have
- 51:06Speaker 1: for your wild card?
- 51:08Speaker 5: I got Jets, Dolphins, and Jaguars. I I think some
- 51:13Speaker 5: of the teams are going to have, Like really, I
- 51:16Speaker 5: looked at the Bengals one hundred times, but I'm just
- 51:18Speaker 5: scared to death of Joe Burrow, like hurting that him
- 51:22Speaker 5: all the time, and if he goes down, you know,
- 51:25Speaker 5: it's another six and eleven disaster, six and eleven disaster. Yeah,
- 51:30Speaker 5: And just looking across the other teams, I can't find
- 51:34Speaker 5: like people are talking about the Colts.
- 51:36Speaker 3: I watched Anthony and Richardson in preseason.
- 51:38Speaker 5: I don't know about you guys. I'm not seeing that.
- 51:41Speaker 5: They're too far away, I think.
- 51:43Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 51:43Speaker 5: And then jay A West is Assesspool. So it's Jets, Jags,
- 51:47Speaker 5: and Dolphins.
- 51:48Speaker 1: Leon, who are your wild card teams?
- 51:52Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 51:53Speaker 4: I don't really none of these teams jump out at me,
- 51:55Speaker 4: to be honest, I have a I have a fair
- 51:57Speaker 4: amount of fear with regard to any of these wildcard teams.
- 52:01Speaker 4: I'm gonna go Bills, I'm gonna go Dolphins. I feel
- 52:06Speaker 4: like with the Bengals, I feel like Burrows still going
- 52:10Speaker 4: to be there when when they play the Eagles. Yeah,
- 52:13Speaker 4: so that's why the Eagles losing them on the road.
- 52:15Speaker 4: But I think shortly after that is when he has
- 52:17Speaker 4: his yearly injury, and that's when they kind of go
- 52:19Speaker 4: in the tank. Oh boy, I'm gonna go Bill's, Dolphins
- 52:24Speaker 4: and Jaguars.
- 52:25Speaker 1: All right, Okay, sounds good, and let's move over to
- 52:28Speaker 1: the NFC. Now, predictions for each division here in the NFC, Well,
- 52:33Speaker 1: so I get we'll start over the NFC East. I
- 52:34Speaker 1: am going to pick the Philadelphia Eagles again twelve and
- 52:37Speaker 1: five on the season. Who do you guys have? Do
- 52:39Speaker 1: you have the Eagles or is it Cowboys Commanders? I
- 52:43Speaker 1: guess we'll start there.
- 52:45Speaker 3: Oh sorry, no, no, it's the comes Jet Thank you,
- 52:52Speaker 3: thank you.
- 52:54Speaker 1: I forgot all right, So we all have the Eagles here.
- 52:59Speaker 1: NFC North, the Packers, Green Bay Packers. I actually think
- 53:02Speaker 1: they're gonna do it. I don't think it's gonna be
- 53:03Speaker 1: the Lions taking that division this year. I think it's
- 53:06Speaker 1: gonna be the Packers, I think, and I gonna be
- 53:08Speaker 1: talking about the Packers a little bit more, uh in
- 53:10Speaker 1: this discussion. But Len, who do you think is gonna
- 53:13Speaker 1: take the NFC North?
- 53:15Speaker 4: I say the Packers as well, but I think Packers
- 53:18Speaker 4: Lions is probably gonna be the most fun division race.
- 53:21Speaker 1: Yeah? Absolutely, is that? What do you have? Eric?
- 53:25Speaker 5: I have the Lions, but the Packers gonna be right
- 53:27Speaker 5: there behind them. Yeah, that's that is by far the
- 53:29Speaker 5: best one two punch of any of these, any of
- 53:31Speaker 5: these divisions.
- 53:32Speaker 1: Yep, all right. The NFC South, I have the Atlanta Falcons.
- 53:35Speaker 1: I think, I really do think Kirk Cousins is gonna
- 53:37Speaker 1: help take this team to not that I don't. I
- 53:40Speaker 1: hate to say like the next level, but I guess
- 53:42Speaker 1: you would call it the next level. You can't fall
- 53:43Speaker 1: out of a basement window, and that's where the Falcons
- 53:46Speaker 1: have been. I think I think Kirk Cousins and Bijon
- 53:49Speaker 1: Robinson are gonna do some damage there in that division.
- 53:51Speaker 1: So I'm picking the Falcons. Eric, who do you have?
- 53:54Speaker 3: What was that cliche just dropped? You need to acknowledge it.
- 53:57Speaker 1: You can't fall out of a basement window.
- 54:01Speaker 5: But Jeff, you're not seeing the forest of the trees, buddy.
- 54:05Speaker 5: Any who h Yeah, that that division is a is
- 54:08Speaker 5: a dumpster. It's it's just horrendous the Panthers this I
- 54:11Speaker 5: think the Saints are going to be terrible.
- 54:13Speaker 3: Yeah, they are going to be have a huge step back.
- 54:16Speaker 5: I think the falcon are going to run away with
- 54:18Speaker 5: it just because that division sucks.
- 54:22Speaker 1: Len, who do you got, buddy?
- 54:25Speaker 4: Yeah, it's kind of you know, put on a blindfold
- 54:27Speaker 4: and just throw it dark.
- 54:29Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 54:29Speaker 4: I think I think the only team that I think
- 54:32Speaker 4: is absolutely out of it is I think the Panthers
- 54:34Speaker 4: are once again going to be the one of the
- 54:35Speaker 4: worst teams in football. I don't love the Saint I
- 54:40Speaker 4: think it's either Falcons or Bucks. Okay, And I don't
- 54:43Speaker 4: have any degree of confidence with this pick at all.
- 54:46Speaker 3: I'm going to I just can't put my faith.
- 54:50Speaker 4: In Baker Mayfield to do well two years in a row,
- 54:54Speaker 4: so I'll stay Falcons by default.
- 54:56Speaker 1: Okay, all right, the NFC West, I got the forty
- 54:58Speaker 1: nine ers to both of you guys. Have the forty
- 55:00Speaker 1: nine ers, Len, We'll start with you.
- 55:02Speaker 3: Yeah, I do, Okay, Eric, I have the Seahawks.
- 55:05Speaker 1: Do you Okay, have the Seahawks, oh Gino Smith taking
- 55:08Speaker 1: them to the next level?
- 55:09Speaker 5: Yes, I think the intro introduction of that coach from
- 55:13Speaker 5: the Ravens defensive defensive coordinator. Yeah, but like their defense
- 55:17Speaker 5: sucked last year and they needed a guy to come
- 55:19Speaker 5: in and kind of kind of revamp, kind of like
- 55:21Speaker 5: redo their culture there because you know, the coach was
- 55:24Speaker 5: there for like was he eighty years old when he left,
- 55:27Speaker 5: like a long time. And they have a lot of
- 55:30Speaker 5: talent on that roster. I think the nine is gonna
- 55:32Speaker 5: have kind of a nightmare season.
- 55:34Speaker 3: I don't.
- 55:34Speaker 5: I think McCaffrey's hurt. I think the Ayuk situation was bizarre.
- 55:38Speaker 3: I hope.
- 55:39Speaker 5: But Williams is still not there. You still have not
- 55:42Speaker 5: signed him? He's their best? Well they did, but they
- 55:45Speaker 5: did finally, Oh they did. They signed him yesterday actually Yeah.
- 55:49Speaker 3: And he's thirty six and he hasn't played one preseason game.
- 55:52Speaker 1: That could be a problem. Yeah.
- 55:53Speaker 5: I just don't like to feel that team And how
- 55:56Speaker 5: many teams come back from the Super Bowl and just
- 55:58Speaker 5: kick ass yea after losing the Super Bowl.
- 56:01Speaker 3: It doesn't happen often. Yeah, I think the Seahawks take.
- 56:03Speaker 1: It all right. I like it. I like it my
- 56:05Speaker 1: three wild card spots. Guys. I've got the Lions, because
- 56:08Speaker 1: we were talking before, it's gonna be Packers Lions battling
- 56:11Speaker 1: for that division. Wouldn't surprise me if the Lions did
- 56:13Speaker 1: win that division. But I've got the Lions, the Rams,
- 56:17Speaker 1: believe it or not. And I've got the Commanders the Coms. Sorry,
- 56:21Speaker 1: I've got I've got them in the wild card. I
- 56:23Speaker 1: really think they're gonna They're gonna take steps this year
- 56:27Speaker 1: and kind of get things together with the with their
- 56:30Speaker 1: new quarterbacks. So, Eric, who do you have for your
- 56:33Speaker 1: wild card teams here?
- 56:35Speaker 5: So you think Jalen Daniel is gonna have like a
- 56:36Speaker 5: monster year like RG three kind of deal.
- 56:38Speaker 1: I think he's gonna have a great year. I really do.
- 56:40Speaker 3: He's a really good quarterback atally. Yeah, yeah, I agree,
- 56:43Speaker 3: and he's the more season than RG three was. I
- 56:45Speaker 3: I do with you. But they're the Cums.
- 56:48Speaker 5: Their defense is awful, so I couldn't take them. But
- 56:52Speaker 5: I actually like the Rams a lot. I have the
- 56:54Speaker 5: Rams as a wildcard team. The Packers sliding in, uh,
- 56:57Speaker 5: just because they don't lose. They don't they don't win
- 56:59Speaker 5: the division against the Lions by like one game.
- 57:01Speaker 3: And I have the Niners.
- 57:02Speaker 1: Nice, nice, Len, who are your wildcard teams?
- 57:07Speaker 4: With regard to the comms?
- 57:09Speaker 3: I just I can't.
- 57:11Speaker 4: I like Jayalen Daniels a lot, but just rookie quarterback.
- 57:15Speaker 4: It might be just a little bit too soon. So
- 57:19Speaker 4: I and I know from from basketball that their owner
- 57:23Speaker 4: is a wet fart of a of a person that's
- 57:26Speaker 4: gonna perme through the organization. I am going to go Lions.
- 57:32Speaker 4: I I can't imagine the Cowboys are going to fall
- 57:35Speaker 4: off that bad. So I have Lions, Cowboys, and seahawkss
- 57:38Speaker 4: my wildcard teams.
- 57:39Speaker 1: Okay, all right, I think those are all right picks there.
- 57:42Speaker 1: Let's go to the AFC Championship game and who we
- 57:44Speaker 1: think is going to be playing in that game? Guys,
- 57:47Speaker 1: I have the Chiefs and the Texans that are going
- 57:50Speaker 1: to be playing in the AFC Championship. Len, who do
- 57:52Speaker 1: you have going to the AFC Championship Game this year?
- 57:56Speaker 4: I have a rematch of the Chiefs and Ravens.
- 57:59Speaker 1: Okay, all right, I can see that happening for sure. Eric,
- 58:02Speaker 1: What about you, buddy.
- 58:04Speaker 5: I was on the fence Bill's and Texans or Texans Chiefs.
- 58:07Speaker 5: I'm gonna go Texans Chiefs.
- 58:09Speaker 1: Okay, oh, same as me? All right, Texans Chiefs. Man,
- 58:11Speaker 1: Texans are gonna be fun to watch this year. Man,
- 58:14Speaker 1: They're gonna be a fun team. NFC Championship. I'm thinking
- 58:17Speaker 1: it's gonna be the Green Bay Packers and the Detroit Lions. Actually,
- 58:21Speaker 1: I think I think we're that division. They're gonna be
- 58:24Speaker 1: battling in that division, and then they're gonna meet each
- 58:26Speaker 1: other in the NFC Championship. Eric, who do you think
- 58:29Speaker 1: it's gonna be?
- 58:29Speaker 3: Same?
- 58:30Speaker 1: Is the same? Okay, what about you?
- 58:34Speaker 3: Yeah? It's actually is that what it is? All right?
- 58:37Speaker 1: Hold on?
- 58:38Speaker 3: Could just repeat last year?
- 58:40Speaker 5: Jeff and I had the exact same championship game convictions
- 58:43Speaker 5: and we.
- 58:43Speaker 3: Were wrong by a mile, by a mile exactly. Did
- 58:47Speaker 3: we pick Bengals Eagles in the Super Bowl?
- 58:49Speaker 1: Yes we did. We did not even close. No, it
- 58:55Speaker 1: wasn't close at all at all. Oh gosh, all right,
- 59:00Speaker 1: af or the sorry the super Bowl? So who do
- 59:04Speaker 1: we think is going to be in the Super Bowl.
- 59:06Speaker 1: I think it's going to be the Chiefs and the Packers. Actually,
- 59:09Speaker 1: with the Packers winning the Super Bowl, I think they're
- 59:12Speaker 1: gonna take this dynasty of the Chiefs and just just
- 59:16Speaker 1: punch them right in the face. I really do. I
- 59:18Speaker 1: think the Packers are the upcoming team in this league.
- 59:20Speaker 1: And that's why I have for the Super Bowl and
- 59:23Speaker 1: the Super Bowl winner. Lehn, who do you have, buddy?
- 59:26Speaker 4: I Well, all right, so AFC Championship game, I have
- 59:30Speaker 4: the the Ravens winning the rematch over the Chiefs. Okay,
- 59:35Speaker 4: NFC Championship Game, I have the Packers over the Lions.
- 59:38Speaker 4: I have the Ravens over the Packers in the Super Bowl.
- 59:42Speaker 1: Right.
- 59:43Speaker 4: But what I want most of all, where where is
- 59:45Speaker 4: the super Bowl this year?
- 59:46Speaker 1: I actually don't even know wherever it is.
- 59:49Speaker 4: What I want most of all is a Ravens Eagles
- 59:52Speaker 4: Super Bowl, so that wherever it is is treated to
- 59:55Speaker 4: that accent, just the Ravens fans and Eagles fans, just
- 59:59Speaker 4: that that's similar accent together, all those fans together, and
- 1:00:03Speaker 4: just the people of that town going, what is wrong
- 1:00:07Speaker 4: with these people and the way they talk.
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: It's down in New Orleans, by the way, I just
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: looked it up.
- 1:00:12Speaker 3: Yeah, that's a problem.
- 1:00:13Speaker 5: They won't notice the accent because their accents are crazy
- 1:00:16Speaker 5: down there.
- 1:00:16Speaker 4: Well, yeah, they're goofy cage and people that is true,
- 1:00:19Speaker 4: But yeah, I just think that would be a blast.
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: All right, Eric, who are your championship prediction? Your super Bowl?
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: And who do you think is going to win the
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: Super Bowl?
- 1:00:31Speaker 3: Can I just start with this is gonna be wrong.
- 1:00:33Speaker 5: I'll just say it because they're always wrong, it's insane.
- 1:00:37Speaker 5: But I think Texans Lions is going to be the
- 1:00:40Speaker 5: actual super Bowl. The Lions are man, they're stacked. If
- 1:00:43Speaker 5: you look at that roster. Yeah, and they should have
- 1:00:45Speaker 5: beat the Niners last year. You watch that game, Yeah,
- 1:00:48Speaker 5: they should have. And that'll be It'll be a fun game.
- 1:00:51Speaker 4: It will be two teams that you know, two new
- 1:00:54Speaker 4: teams like And that's the thing. Part of the reason
- 1:00:57Speaker 4: I picked the Ravens over the Chiefs is I just
- 1:00:59Speaker 4: made and the fatigue has fully set in. I am
- 1:01:02Speaker 4: so tired of the Kansas City Chiefs.
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: Yep.
- 1:01:06Speaker 5: I just think the Texans have so much talent. I
- 1:01:08Speaker 5: think Stroud is just gonna be awesome. I that's why
- 1:01:11Speaker 5: I'm not picking them because I hate the Chiefs. I
- 1:01:13Speaker 5: just think they're a better team and they have a
- 1:01:15Speaker 5: lot of weapons, and I think they're just gonna kind
- 1:01:17Speaker 5: of outrun that team and the Chiefs are older like that.
- 1:01:21Speaker 5: That's a long run. That's how many games each year
- 1:01:24Speaker 5: backed a back super Bowl. You know, that's tough. And
- 1:01:27Speaker 5: I think Texans lines. I think the Lions pull it out,
- 1:01:29Speaker 5: and God bless that city. I hope they get a
- 1:01:31Speaker 5: championship because what a drought for them. Like Allians, man,
- 1:01:36Speaker 5: that like, that's one of those towns where like they
- 1:01:39Speaker 5: show here's here's old uncle Floyd. He's been a fan
- 1:01:42Speaker 5: for ninety years. He's gone to every game.
- 1:01:47Speaker 3: Like it sucks.
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: It's gonna be a fun season, fun season. So do
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: you guys think ause we're closing things out here? This
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: upcoming game Eagles Packers opening game of the season down
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: in Brazil, do you think the Eagles are gonna lose?
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: Because guys, I do think they're gonna lose. I think
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: it's gonna be a twenty six to twenty four Packers win.
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: And I this is the most difficult game opening game
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: that the Eagles have had to play in years and years.
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: If you take a look at their previous schedules, they
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: haven't had to play an opponent like the Green Bay
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: Packers over the past few years. And Jalen Hurts certainly
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: hasn't either, So I'm going Packers in this opening game,
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: as much as it pains me to say. At twenty six,
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: twenty four, Lenn, what's your scoring prediction for Week one here, buddy.
- 1:02:33Speaker 4: I have that, sorry, Beth Dog, that's sir. I have
- 1:02:36Speaker 4: thirty to twenty seven Packers.
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: Okay, okay, Eric, what about you?
- 1:02:41Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 1:02:42Speaker 5: I think twenty eight, Luna, stop no, I think Packers
- 1:02:50Speaker 5: twenty eight twenty four. I hate the spot for the Eagles.
- 1:02:52Speaker 5: It's really bad.
- 1:02:53Speaker 4: Yeah, it's just the worst kind of open of just
- 1:02:56Speaker 4: tough team, a home game that's not a home game everything.
- 1:03:00Speaker 5: About, and a team looking to put themselves on the map.
- 1:03:03Speaker 5: You know, after looking the ship out of the Cowboys
- 1:03:06Speaker 5: last year in Dallas, like they were poised to become
- 1:03:09Speaker 5: the next team. It took that next step, just like
- 1:03:12Speaker 5: the Eagles did back in like two thousand and one.
- 1:03:13Speaker 5: Them against the Rams, didn't quite win. I just had
- 1:03:18Speaker 5: they have that feel. Jordan Love is gonna be awesome
- 1:03:20Speaker 5: this year, and I hate again. I hope Jeffrey Lurie
- 1:03:24Speaker 5: made some real bank for having one of his home
- 1:03:26Speaker 5: games in Brazil, because that's some real bullshit, dude, it
- 1:03:29Speaker 5: really is. Yeah, yeah, to deprive the fans of that.
- 1:03:33Speaker 5: But I think, and of course we all know, we've
- 1:03:37Speaker 5: been in Eagles fans our whole lives that Saturday morning
- 1:03:40Speaker 5: afterwards on All All Talk Radio, complete planic by the
- 1:03:44Speaker 5: Eagles fans.
- 1:03:45Speaker 3: Oh, it's gonna be the disaster.
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: Yes, it's gonna be all my well, even though even
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: though there are gonna be sixteen more games being played,
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: it's gonna be the end of the world.
- 1:03:56Speaker 5: But Jeff, I will say this, we talked about this
- 1:03:58Speaker 5: in the past few weeks, that I can't stand that
- 1:04:02Speaker 5: Nick Sirianni is employing a soft preseason and that I'm
- 1:04:07Speaker 5: stealing that from the GM shuff Micha Lombardo. Michae Lombardi,
- 1:04:13Speaker 5: that's a term now like this soft preseason where your
- 1:04:15Speaker 5: starters don't play it all. The Packers didn't do that,
- 1:04:17Speaker 5: Jordan love Bright all preseason, they're ready to go. I
- 1:04:20Speaker 5: have no idea what Hurts and Saquon and any of
- 1:04:24Speaker 5: the stars are gonna look like on offense.
- 1:04:26Speaker 3: No clue. So I'm definitely given that.
- 1:04:28Speaker 5: That's probably it's one of the main reasons I'm giving
- 1:04:30Speaker 5: the advantage to the Packers.
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: Yep, it's a good it's a good rationale for it,
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: for sure. So all right, guys, well that's it. Eagles
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: season preview show done in the books. Oh Man, good
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: predicted predictions here. I think we got some great predictions
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: here too, Lend. Do you have anything else before we
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: head out of here?
- 1:04:47Speaker 3: Buddy, No, we should.
- 1:04:50Speaker 4: We should do this again with all three of us sometimes.
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: Yes, that'll be fun. Eric, do you have anything?
- 1:04:56Speaker 5: Can we do my dream I've talked about on the
- 1:04:58Speaker 5: show a couple of times where we do the sixth
- 1:05:00Speaker 5: preseason game, we go through each game.
- 1:05:05Speaker 4: Wins, losses, good, good four hour show.
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: Yes, and then the next day, Eric, you can join
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: Lennon I and we'll do all eighty two Flyers games.
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: How about that?
- 1:05:17Speaker 3: It'll it'll literally be me at the s A t's
- 1:05:20Speaker 3: going A B C A b C.
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: I don't.
- 1:05:27Speaker 3: Utah has a team. When did this happen?
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: All right, Well, that's gonna do it for us this week, folks.
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: Hope you enjoyed. Subscribe on whatever podcast platform you're on
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: if you're listening to us for the first time, and uh,
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: that's gonna do it for us. Man, go birds. Hope
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: it's a good season here. We're gonna be doing our
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: Eagles postgame podcast shows. Oh, I have to ask you guys,
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: if you're gonna be doing a postgame show that's coming
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: the week.
- 1:05:51Speaker 3: I haven't even had a single. All right, No, I
- 1:05:56Speaker 3: will do Friday Night.
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: All right, it sounds good.
- 1:05:59Speaker 4: I was gonna volunteer, deal, but if you want to
- 1:06:01Speaker 4: go for.
- 1:06:01Speaker 3: It, let's have another threesome. Bo Okay, I'm good with that.
- 1:06:06Speaker 4: Yes, and uh, Friday night nowhere to be the next day,
- 1:06:15Speaker 4: all right. I think they're going to be doing some
- 1:06:18Speaker 4: drinking during this.
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: I was gonna say, I'm gonna have a few dull
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: beverages there.
- 1:06:22Speaker 4: I think that I think that it's it's going to
- 1:06:25Speaker 4: be a show where you have to kind of steer
- 1:06:28Speaker 4: the ship a little bit because uh and it's going
- 1:06:31Speaker 4: to be uh the not suitable.
- 1:06:34Speaker 3: For children's show. And okay, it's going to be a
- 1:06:36Speaker 3: good time.
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: All right, it's good.
- 1:06:38Speaker 3: Just get the explicit morning ready to go.
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: Yeah, I always yes, all right, sounds good. All right, everybody,
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: we will catch you next time.
