- 0:00here we are again another week another exciting time we've killed Matt it's
- 0:05just a to of us now yeah just him he was good he was gristly but um but tasty
- 0:12yeah there's a problem I don't know how we post the podcast anymore cuz he I was
- 0:16thinking about that too I'm hoping that even though he's unwell and can't appear
- 0:20on the podcast that he's still well enough to publish the podcast yes
- 0:24otherwise we're doing this for nothing so welcome to multiple nerd GM with your
- 0:31hosts Matt Luke and Dan multiple
- 0:36nerdgasm your guide to All Things
- 0:45nerdy I must say I do like your background I'm feeling a little
- 0:48inadequate today sorry I I've had this green screen with me forever I hav it
- 0:53doesn't quite feel the screen but just don't look at the corners oh it's
- 0:57cropped for me so that it's perfect it looks perfect on yep I'm going to do a
- 1:03different different background every week so who knows what it'll be getting
- 1:06more and more obscure each time y I'm sure who knows well I was just telling
- 1:13you off a um I'm on a a Mac for work during the week I work from home I work
- 1:18from the same desk same monitor same keyboard and mouse but on the weekends I
- 1:21switch back to my PC and it's like I'm on a real computer not a toy yeah cuz
- 1:27and I think that's a good way to do it cuz that way you can really between work
- 1:31and fun yeah and this is all I've got on my Mac is work apps and all I've got on
- 1:37my PC are fun apps yeah you know including all the stuff for this podcast
- 1:41including games and uh but just the the feeling of Windows it feels like driving
- 1:46a manual transmission instead of an auto yeah get out of gokart yeah it's just
- 1:52more comfortable you got a bit more freedom you got two mouse
- 1:57buttons no two mouse buttons for a long
- 2:01time L long time at least 20 years at least 20 years well no I say that cuz
- 2:07actually I think the actual Mac mice have no buttons whatsoever um but I because they're
- 2:14touch sensitive oh okay very very long time since I'm using
- 2:19I I used the Logitech um was it the MX Pro um which has like 12 buttons on it
- 2:25and I use it regardless of which computer I'm on SO okay I I know doesn't change for
- 2:31me I will say this though I liked the puck back in the day y um because I do a
- 2:38lot of intricate things like drawing and graphic design having not to have my whole hand
- 2:44on a mouse and just to manipulate with my fingertips actually was quite well
- 2:49that's what that was designed for wasn't that's why it was sort of like if you if
- 2:53you were playing games you got a PC or if you're a graphic designer yeah that's
- 2:59right exactly y y yeah I it got a lot of
- 3:04criticism it got a lot of criticism but uh I'm sure you could probably track one
- 3:08down see I technically own one but H doesn't want it in the house
- 3:14so she gave it to me freak you're not allowed to use it she got she got she
- 3:19did a retro exhibition of um early 2000's artifacts for a tie in with a
- 3:26with a TV show she made um and they tracked down and I
- 3:30um to be part of the exhibition it's she's like techn if you want it it's
- 3:33yours but I don't know where you're going to put it and I was like I'll find
- 3:37somewhere but we we live in a pretty small house so I honestly don't know you
- 3:42would get it it would sit there it' be for the I don't want to boot it up no no
- 3:47no no oh God no no no os9 no no no the G3 no definitely not but it looks
- 3:54nice yeah and it's in that like what's the opposite of a sweet spot sour spot
- 4:00it's in the sour spot of like old but not retro cuz I play a lot of retro
- 4:04games I'm recently teaching myself to
- 4:08use and and program on a comodore 64 um I find that fascinating um but I don't
- 4:15want to do anything in the like 1995 to 2005 era you know what I mean it's just
- 4:21loving the program are you trying to track down like old magazines that you
- 4:24have to code your own game and stuff in oh yeah I've got uh well I won't bother
- 4:28getting it out oh no it is a it's a visual it is pry yeah no I'm getting uh I'm getting
- 4:33my my old codes and um I've got multiple this is this is good stuff here right
- 4:39this is uh how to how to draw characters
- 4:42with petsy pety pety and how to um how
- 4:47to code with with Commodore basic and I'm terrible I'm not good at it I won't
- 4:52I'm not going to pretend I'm good at it yet I've got a couple of books at Old
- 4:55mags yeah you're not going to be great day one it's going to take time no no
- 4:58exactly well not even great [ __ ] several months in but it's fun it's fun
- 5:03I like looking at the old I like looking at the old I have the patience for it I'm
- 5:07jealous yeah yeah I've I've got I've got patience for that not not other things I
- 5:13probably should have patience for instead I can write my experience with
- 5:17coding I can write basic SQL I don't even know what an SQL is
- 5:22some of my code is out in the world being used and I don't know how or
- 5:26why fair enough yeah so what has been
- 5:32happening um we've seen some movies this week and actually so one of them I
- 5:36haven't seen but I am seeing next week but I want I want spoilers I want I want
- 5:41you to tell me exactly what you think about it and the other one we both have
- 5:44seen and I was actually thinking we probably couldn't talk about it this
- 5:47week because Matt hasn't seen it Matt's not here Matt's not here so I think I
- 5:52think we can talk about it and Matt if you are listening back you might want to
- 5:56skip ahead but part of the whole thing about it is cuz we're talking about
- 6:00Oppenheimer of course is I don't think it's possible to spoil the movie no no
- 6:05correct for two reasons it's got sort of a documentary feel behind yes it's a
- 6:09historical biopic and we know what happened right we know what happened and
- 6:13two and Matt I'm going to get not into spoilers for the movie but spoilers for
- 6:19the mood of the movie right I found this
- 6:24to be far less Christopher Nolan than I was expecting and actually
- 6:30I wish somebody had told me that going in cuz I was expecting suddenly weird
- 6:34stuff to start happening time dilation and you know and he did talk about how
- 6:39some of the movie was subtext subtextual was subjective and some was objective um
- 6:46and I guess that's technically true but it wasn't in any way that I thought
- 6:50was particularly challenging and I kind
- 6:55of was expecting it to be a little bit more
- 7:00this the first nor movie I've seen in quite some time where I understood it
- 7:04all sure yeah yeah yeah it's much more of a normal movie yeah I liked it yeah I
- 7:10liked it too yeah yeah I liked it as well now I'll say this it probably
- 7:13didn't need to be three hours long no it did D and if you are going to tell that
- 7:19much of a story just make it a Netflix series like you've got the perfect
- 7:22platform for it now if you Netflix series about it now right right okay yeah so there you
- 7:28go yeah no it is very visual it's beautiful the the the this the Mison s
- 7:35they create with the the the bombs going off and and his kind of imagination of
- 7:39of like what he might do to the World by creating this thing and the performances
- 7:43were all great and then he's like his whole whole thing of like him going
- 7:47through like this has to be done now but then also going we can't continue this
- 7:51because yeah yeah this say you can't SP because
- 7:58that's that's right exactly the the only
- 8:02thing you could spoil really is pointing out the angle that it takes
- 8:08which is that it's more focused on whether or not he was a communist yes
- 8:14than what he did with the bomb the bomb itself is kind of the middle hour and
- 8:18it's book ended by this was he a and and
- 8:20that's fairly interesting um uh cuz he
- 8:25was he was banging a communist and he brother was a communist and and like
- 8:31fair enough but uh it's almost like that was two movies there was the movie about
- 8:35him creating the bomb and then wondering whether he should have the whole thing
- 8:38about the Communist part of it is is sort of like he he was sort of open
- 8:42about like throughout like it's no yeah I'm interested in it but yeah not a
- 8:46remember yeah the phrase is I think they say it in the movie but it's it's it's
- 8:49the historically accurate phrase fellow traveler is what they say which is
- 8:53basically saying yeah yeah I actually totally agree with you but I'm not going
- 8:56to start sending money to the Soviets it's like I support this kind of cause of like we
- 9:02probably do need to cap capitalism somewhere and uh we probably are
- 9:06exploiting the workers but I'm not I'm not a card carry don't agree with like
- 9:11this actual yeah yeah yeah the actuality of of Communism as a as a government
- 9:17regime yeah it's it's not necessarily what we want for the United States I I
- 9:22do have to mention something and this one might be a bit of a spoiler cuz this
- 9:25was meant to be like they got so much TNT and this was the biggest
- 9:30explosion it's a bit disappointing yeah because they're like
- 9:36we didn't use any CGI okay you could have I wouldn't have cared I watch
- 9:40movies with a lot of CGI I don't care I'm quite happy with it like that's not
- 9:44a flex like cares yeah yeah you could have made it a bit better if he had made
- 9:48it with CGI because I I don't like CGI just for the sake because you see some
- 9:53it's just you could have just shot that like there's no reason why and like
- 9:57something like the flash it was like come on guys this looks like CGI rended
- 10:01on a PlayStation 2 but this I don't know for I was expecting more and I was just
- 10:06a little it was very powerful moment still oh yeah yeah probably the best
- 10:10moment in the film yeah but second best the best moment was when Emily Blunt
- 10:15finally had some lines worth saying at the end of the film and she gets up and
- 10:19delivers Her speech and you were like oh okay if you were going to write her
- 10:22character rich with layers you could have been doing this the whole time that
- 10:27is that is one thing Nolan does get criticized for is is not really writing
- 10:31enough depths for women yes yes he he wouldn't pass what what's the test the
- 10:36the back test yeah tail test he wouldn't be passing that no I don't think he's
- 10:41concerned with it though to be honest yeah I don't think there was one point
- 10:45in the movie where a female spoke to another female no I think there was two
- 10:49females on screen except like party backgrounds but yeah yeah and all the
- 10:55talk was about Oppenheimer like it's not like that's what it was because it's
- 10:59that him yeah it was yeah I mean his name is the name of the film yeah Y and
- 11:03it was yeah so no I enjoy I'll say this yeah I enjoyed it too and I think that
- 11:09the the Christopher Nolan movies that I love the most are the ones that I wasn't
- 11:14sure of the first viewing and then began to love on a second and even third
- 11:19viewing interstella I was very disappointed by in my first watch and I
- 11:25can't even remember why because now I love it so much uh and this one might be
- 11:30the same this one might be a one that I don't quite know how I feel about it
- 11:33other than then I did enjoy it I wasn't bored um even with the the the long run
- 11:38time but that I mean people are haing it as a masterpiece I wouldn't say that now
- 11:43but ask me after I've SE it a second time surely it will yeah yeah it will
- 11:47but look for me the problem it's got with the second time
- 11:51watching I don't very often throw in a 3our movie if I'm looking for something to
- 11:56watch it's not a I may sit there for 3 hours and watch watch two movies yeah
- 12:00that's right yeah yeah 4 hours if I'm watching four episodes of a Netflix show
- 12:05yeah but to throw a 3-hour movie that's that's commitment yeah they backing out
- 12:11so that's where I think I may probably never watch it again 3 hours is really
- 12:16pushing it too I I feel yeah because a lot of the Marvel movies are two and a
- 12:20half hours and I feel like that's pushing it but literally hitting that 3H
- 12:26hour that 180 minute Mark is like you've got to be pretty confident that you've
- 12:30got a lot of good content there yeah cuz yeah like I saw two movies I saw up and
- 12:36Hy and I saw barbie for Barby Heimer or whatever they're calling it yeah yeah
- 12:41you saw the the the the double feature yes and if I was going to watch us if I
- 12:46was going to watch a movie for the second time I'd watch Barbie because
- 12:48it's just yeah I must admit I'm pretty excited about seeing this next week um
- 12:55I'm going to go see it during the day I'm going to take the afternoon off work
- 12:57and see it because it's still sold out on the weekends like this movie is so
- 13:03popular and and is right what they say like if you love Barbie you're going to
- 13:06love it if you don't like Barbie you still going to enjoy the movie yeah so
- 13:12evidently women who grew up with the dolls know who all these characters are
- 13:17already I just know Barbie and Ken but evidently like the character Michael
- 13:21Sarah plays and the character Alan there you go yeah apparently that's a real
- 13:25doll and apparently people know his backstory yep there's all there all of
- 13:31those they're all there and it's yeah no it's it's it's fun it's stupid yeah it's
- 13:37so I do know some people Ken and Barbie going through and
- 13:44getting confused in the real world and which sort of happens but it's not a k
- 13:48and Barbie movie okay like it's not interesting not a love story between
- 13:52them okay look I don't I don't mind spoilers so the spoilers it's been by
- 13:59comes out it's been two weeks Yeah Yeah so basically so Barbie starts having
- 14:06these weird thoughts and starts Marg Robin Co starts having these weird
- 14:09thoughts thinking about death and all these things and she's hysterical
- 14:13typical Barbie mhm yeah and so and then she has to go on an adventure to the
- 14:20real world to find her owner who's having these thoughts to try and rectify
- 14:25it so she can go back to living the perfect life okay so she's ESS her her
- 14:30life is being played with by an actual
- 14:33child in the real world yes okay that's and it's sort of like they go through a
- 14:38bit of thing and they see like the the daughter's sad and she's having fights
- 14:41with her mom cuz she's sort of growing up that little bit and getting to that
- 14:44stage Barbie's not fun and all this Ken
- 14:48is his whole life is just to be seen by Barbie right yeah it only exists if
- 14:54Barbie is there yeah and there line movie like where does Ken live I don't
- 15:01know Barbie dream houses everywhere yeah but where does Ken live that's so funny
- 15:06they go through real world and they find out it's not the daughter it's the mom
- 15:10the mom's sort of remembering the time she was spending with her child and
- 15:13she's growing up and she's missing it and Ken finds out about the
- 15:18patriarchy and let me guess he likes it he likes it think it's a lot to do with
- 15:23horses and travels back to Barbie land and tells everyone else about
- 15:30kids take over that's amazing that's amazing yes and yeah no it's and it's
- 15:37about that and it's even the funny jokes and it's weird that Mattel let some of
- 15:41these jokes go through like you walk in the board of Mattel all men yeah right
- 15:48just things like that and it's just yeah no they must have had a moment where
- 15:51they were like we could be portrayed well and people would think it's phony
- 15:56or we could be portrayed accurately and let them make fun of us and people will
- 16:00give us money for seeing the movie so let's do that yep they went so will
- 16:05frell's the head of the board awesome but no look I do recommend
- 16:11seeing it it's stupid and fun yeah that I I and I'm I'm all about that I'm I'm
- 16:17I'm more than happy for a movie to just and it does sound like it has like a bit
- 16:21of a political angle in terms it does but but at its heart it's just trying to
- 16:25be a a good fun movie to watch right it's like the Barbies all believe that
- 16:30they've fixed the world and everything's great and women can do everything and
- 16:34then they come to the real world and realizes it's not right
- 16:40amazing yeah that's that's great my neighbor his daughter is one year older
- 16:45than my daughter and she's just gotten into Barbie and um his whole life is
- 16:49about Barbie now he he knows all about it he has to get into it and he was over
- 16:55at our house the other day and he's like oh you guys watch Barbie and we're like
- 16:58no we're not there yet he like oh okay it's a concept to him not she's a little
- 17:02bit too young for all yeah but you touched on something there that I remember from my
- 17:08childhood the moment playing with toys stopped being fun and
- 17:13it I called didn't know yep yes yes mom's home yes people are
- 17:19here
- 17:24we I remember the exact moment where I was playing and I used to have like
- 17:31this bucket of action figures that cuz I used to keep my Ghostbusters together my
- 17:36Ninja Turtles together my He-Man together but then I also had this bucket
- 17:39of just random ones that could be anyone like I had Mand Drake the magician from
- 17:46Defenders of the earth he could be Dracula he could be Bruce Wayne it was
- 17:50just a guy in a suit right you know just these generic figures and they were my
- 17:53favorites cuz I used to be able to play anything with them any movie I watch
- 17:57okay I can play with these guys and I was I Wasing Beast Man
- 18:02from he could be a werewolf he could be any like you know like it was just those
- 18:08kind of generic ones and I used to love it and then one day I must have been 11
- 18:13or or 12 or turning 12 and I'd gotten them out and I was playing and then it
- 18:16just dawned on me that I wasn't enjoying it on the same level that I wasn't able
- 18:22to just completely forfeit the world around me
- 18:27to the world in front of me and I got really melan like it was I got real sad
- 18:34that that was the moment my childhood was over essentially and that's also the
- 18:38time that you start picking apart movies as well a little bit more movies are
- 18:41just fun that's hold on there's this and that yeah yeah of course I remember I
- 18:48say we going full circle I probably Happ a little bit earli for me because I was a year
- 18:53younger than everyone else yeah yeah so probably forced upon me a bit faster but
- 18:58even today like I'll build Lego love building Lego and then I get bit sad CU
- 19:03I build it now not going to play with it play with it a young yeah the start was
- 19:09fun to build and then I can play with it I can fly it around the horses had the
- 19:15whole night St in the castle so you Mo out that castle was the best yeah yeah
- 19:19so yeah I used to get I got yelled at by my dad once because I built cuz the way
- 19:25you used to do it at my house was you'd buy a set you'd build it you'd play with
- 19:29it a bit and then it' get broken down at some point and everything would just get
- 19:33integrated to your greater collection of Lego and you could just build anything
- 19:37with it but at one stage when I was about 10 I rebuilt all
- 19:42the castle things I dug out all the and I rebuilt the whole castle setting and
- 19:47um I wanted to keep it out because I wanted to just play castles with it y
- 19:51but my brother and sister were like no we want the Pieces Just to be in the
- 19:54collection and my dad was like you have to break it down and I was like I'm not
- 19:58I'm not breaking down but but I want to play with this yeah that's
- 20:03right yeah that's right just going to
- 20:07build [ __ ] see I'm one step even back from that because I no longer even
- 20:13really get the Joy from building it I find building Lego tedious now but [ __ ]
- 20:16I love buying it I love buying Lego I love going to the to the shop and
- 20:22looking at it and then buying it and bringing it home and then going I'm
- 20:25going to complete this in as quick a time as I can because is so [ __ ]
- 20:29tedious to build these I I enjoy building it and I wish I did I build it
- 20:34too quickly so what I do is I'll do like a bag at a time like I get some bags
- 20:39I'll do I'll build this bag and that's it and now I'll stop and I'll take my
- 20:43time yeah I can't do that really stretch it out I can't do that I'm not process
- 20:48based anymore I'm results based now some when you get something in big sets that
- 20:51have like 21 bags you have to be you have to be God they're fun well I
- 20:57started I tried to get into model cars last year because I um I
- 21:02bought the James Bond Aston Martin in Lego and I built it and I was I was
- 21:06pretty happy with that but I also thought it doesn't look right it's all
- 21:09blocky so I thought uh I'm going to just get some like realistic model cars um
- 21:15but I want to be able to put it together in this in in one setting you know like
- 21:19just sit down put it canot the very cheap snap together
- 21:24models you kind of can maybe if you spend a couple of hours but the the
- 21:30build the engine piece by piece build the chassis the
- 21:35painting oh yeah don't come painted yeah that's right yeah you could yeah you
- 21:40could throw it together quickly but it'll look shit'll be it won be
- 21:44realistic you want it to look you've you've got to do several cones of paint
- 21:47you know and you've got to you've got to do the gloss coat and then you've you've
- 21:50got to do the the the you know the window fixtures and stuff separately
- 21:55that's what i' get the models but yeah it's that I don't have the patience for
- 21:59that Lego time consuming yeah like if I want to I can build the whole thing but
- 22:05yeah models you have to take your time there's no
- 22:09rushing yeah yeah was that sad I know
- 22:13right but the thing is I still love the concept of these things and and
- 22:18evidently I mean Barbie coming to the real world definitely reminds me of
- 22:22Masters of the Universe um evidently there was going to be a Netflix series
- 22:27master of the universe that's now been canned but they're still discussing if
- 22:30if barie does well which I mean it's going to make a billion dollars right
- 22:34already well um then we'll probably get we'll probably get a Master of the
- 22:38Universe movie um if it's as good as I believe Barbie probably is then you know
- 22:44maybe this will redeem the 1987 version I don't I don't know I don't know if I
- 22:49could I don't know if a master He-Man would be you'd have to make it ironic
- 22:54because the whole thing about He-Man he's called he man yes you know
- 23:00like he's supposed to be like this
- 23:03perfect ideal of a man he's muscular and
- 23:07is brave and stuff and they juxtapose it with this kind of cowardly Prince Adam
- 23:13that he gets the power but Prince Adam still looks like he works six hours a
- 23:18day he just a pink vest on and that's the only thing that's less masculine
- 23:23about him but that's the weird thing like when he changes it's still the same
- 23:28build it's not like he just changed his outfit that's right yeah what can you do
- 23:34now as He-Man that you couldn't do before yeah you're very strong I can I
- 23:38can tell just by looking at your arms yes um but they could do something
- 23:43ironic I mean not too iron I'm kind of a bit over this kind
- 23:48of we were uh we're in Tasmania over the weekend last weekend I've never been to
- 23:53Tasmania man it's a beautiful state have you ever been down there yes [ __ ] it is
- 23:59beautiful to look at two minutes to Rainforest yes so we were in the inner
- 24:04city we went to a place with cows in 8
- 24:08minutes like it was ridiculous how small that city is and how quickly you get
- 24:13into rural areas but um our hotel had
- 24:19normal TV right which we don't have here I don't have an aial we just watch
- 24:24streaming right so I just had um the ABC and for those of you who in Australia
- 24:29who don't know ABC is like it's the government funded TV channel so it's got
- 24:33everything has to kind of have an angle of like cultural significance or
- 24:37education or something like that but all kids shows especially have to have
- 24:42something ironic about them now you know like there's even one called Square the
- 24:49circle and it's about this circle whose name is square and it's like come on
- 24:55like just being ironic for the sake of it now there's one called vegasaurus or
- 25:02something like that and it's and it's dinosaurs but they're vegetables and the
- 25:07T-Rex you know the the biggest dinosaur of them all Yep p-rex they're peas
- 25:12little green peas and they're the smallest of all dinosaurs like
- 25:16everything just has to be ironic now what you say V I thought I was just
- 25:21going to be normal dinosaurs that with veget yeah trying to get kids eat
- 25:25vegetables type that's what I thought at first two no yeah no
- 25:29okay yeah I don't watch a lot of um kid shows kids TV no no yeah surprise surprise yeah no
- 25:35no um did you watch Dungeons and Dragons or was that Matt I think Matt has
- 25:40watched Dungeons and Dragons because I hav have you seen it no I haven't seen
- 25:43it yet either actually on my list I do want to give it a go I just don't know
- 25:47how it would be good yeah I agree in fact I I'm interested to hear if Matt says it's
- 25:54good I might watch it if he says it's bad then I think can I I don't know if
- 25:57it's just like if it's real Dungeons and Dragons like they get sucked into the
- 26:02game or it's people playing the game or if they're just using the name or is it
- 26:07based on the the cartoon series from the 80s where the kids get sucked into the
- 26:13Dungeons and Dragons World yeah that could be something like that or is it
- 26:19just using it doesn't it doesn't look serious but then again I mean our D and
- 26:24D games that we've played haven't been altogether serious either but I'm sure
- 26:29we' both I have and I'm sure you have been involved in some some pretty
- 26:33serious love to do a proper one but we end up talking about chicken lifea
- 26:37sandwiches a lot yeah that's right yeah
- 26:41yeah mhh molesting elves and stuff yeah yeah it just happens all right well I'm
- 26:46looking forward to Matt telling us about this uh next week when he
- 26:50returns we do have some follow-up news I can get into yeah please please get into
- 26:56this I've been following up on the Billy Mitchell
- 26:59case yeah it is not going well for him
- 27:03is it not going well because he's just an out andout liar and his lies are
- 27:09being exposed as the lies that they are yes that that has something to do with
- 27:14it like even witnesses that he's brought
- 27:17in are not saying what he is saying like one of the witnesses he brought in so he
- 27:24said like with the cabinet that he got the got the let's back up a sec let's
- 27:29let's I know we've talked about this before but in case there's any new
- 27:32listeners Billy Mitchell is greatest gamer of the century it's a quote from
- 27:38Billy Mitchell he's uh he's well no to be
- 27:43fair if 10 years ago if you said who's Billy Mitchell we would have said he
- 27:48holds at least two world records and he still has like he's still a good gamer
- 27:54like yeah so Donkey Kong and
- 27:59Pac-Man he the first person to complete Pacman yeah that's right yeah um but
- 28:05there's since been some controversy because his wins have been questioned
- 28:10now I must say I questioned it at the time because uh when he was was he was
- 28:17going up against weeby Rob weeby wee yes
- 28:20John we Steve wee Steve weeby um who also is an incredible incredible Pac-Man
- 28:27player no King Kong King Kong Donkey Kong sorry not King Kong in fact they
- 28:31they they got yeah they got sued from the King Kong guys at the same time um
- 28:36Donkey Kong was beat by Billy Mitchell even though Steve weeby did it
- 28:43live in front of the judges and Billy Mitchell brought in a crackly old VHS
- 28:48tape of him doing it at home but then later claimed that he did it live yes
- 28:54and that this is the tape of that live
- 28:58event but I believe people who were at that event have now said as as to my
- 29:05knowledge there was no video link coming out of that cabinet yeah so so what's
- 29:09happened is he he said like there was it was all set up to card in there to
- 29:15record it all and the g a guy from Gamestop came out and locked set it all
- 29:21up and locked it all and everything the g go I didn't do any of that yeah and he
- 29:27went oh so maybe he didn't plug it all in but he he saw the cable for that we
- 29:32plugged the PCR in and he's gone don't know anything about that he also and
- 29:37just to be clear this is a witness that Billy Mitchell has called in the hearing
- 29:40yeah yeah yes there's another witness he had I think was the organizer event so
- 29:45he he brought in and she and she was
- 29:48going um yeah so um yeah I heard that he he beat the record um was pretty quick I
- 29:55think I last about 15 20 minutes oh to to get this takes hours yeah actually it
- 30:01t like several hours right like between 5 and 10 hours
- 30:06right yeah it's not I don't know exactly how long but it's definitely not yeah
- 30:11it's not 15 minutes into the yeah and it was so quick that it was done before
- 30:16anything had really opened people were there was Billy Mitchell saying there
- 30:18were thousands of people there who saw it yeah and this is on top of the whole
- 30:23fact that it had a red joystick and he's
- 30:29yeah before it was revealed to him that that was a picture we've got of it and
- 30:33he was never play anything unless it was a black top because that's the black top
- 30:38the original if it was anything else wouldn't have played it then have gone
- 30:42what about this it's just what about this photo of you standing at the
- 30:45cabinet yeah look here's the thing I mean he this is like the stri sand
- 30:52effect right yes it's exactly like that if he had just shut his mouth mhm he
- 30:58would still be remembered even if now other people have beat the record he
- 31:03would still be most people's go to who who's the greatest Donkey Kong player in
- 31:07the world Billy Mitchell like he'd have that forever in the Lexicon except now
- 31:13he's known as a fraud because anytime anyone suggests he goes on TV he goes on
- 31:18the internet and he sues Twin Galaxies
- 31:22yep like who can easily prove their own
- 31:26claims he's suing an Australian YouTuber for defamation right yep
- 31:32because he for daring to say what is he going to sue
- 31:36us I I think he may have stopped trying to sue people because every all respect
- 31:41and I would eat at your restaurant in a heartbeat if I was back in the States
- 31:46because I think the problem he's going to run into it's probably already cost him a
- 31:50lot of money and when he loses it's probably going to cost him a lot more oh
- 31:55yeah yeah cuz there's nothing that is going to go his way from even what
- 32:01he's saying the evidence is there so Billy claim his quote from an
- 32:07article of Billy also claimed that there was a he set the word record after
- 32:11playing for a number of hours starting either at 9 or 10 in the morning and
- 32:14ending somewhere between 1 or two the guy video who said the Twin Galaxies was
- 32:19over two hours and 30 minutes long no but the the SEC his second witness
- 32:24mortgage broker's chair Valerie disputes his claim and she when who says yeah it
- 32:29was about 15 minutes I watch after started she heard
- 32:35that didn't by the way oh yeah okay right yeah yeah
- 32:42wow I mean the thing is these these old video games like Donkey Kong and Pac-Man
- 32:49and and all of those were made to be unfinishable because finishing the point
- 32:55there to make money yeah that's right they were purpose difficult they were
- 32:59purposely money hungry and actually some of
- 33:04them eventually people got so good that the games basically just shat themselves
- 33:08at a certain point like I know Pacman you couldn't finish it because at a
- 33:13certain point you just couldn't the game couldn't keep up with the player that's
- 33:17also donkey K comp you get the kill stream so getting to the million point
- 33:21you need to do it quickly because the game gets to a point you get so many
- 33:24levels where it just goes I'm not doing it anymore just it's like you can't
- 33:28Tetris Tetris has end the you can do as
- 33:31Tetris is so that Tetris crashes and that's and that's so that's
- 33:38what saying like he can do that like he actually can but whether he was first
- 33:42and him suing everyone and CU here's the other thing I'm going to I'm going to
- 33:47throw out there so there was a film crew at the time following around weeby for
- 33:53this yes y if he and and they're interviewing Billy Mitchell at the time
- 33:58and he's part of this do you think that if he was going hey I'm going to go do
- 34:03this convention and I might be doing live and I'm going to aim for that you
- 34:08think maybe crew might have gone hey can we come over for that I'll tell you they
- 34:13certainly would have been interested as somebody who has been a documentary
- 34:15filmmaker if I was if I was filming somebody and somebody else had been like
- 34:19by the way I'm going to challenge him and I'm probably going to beat him and
- 34:22you might actually end up making your film more about me than about him um and
- 34:26all it's going to take is 50 minutes cuz apparently that's the only time that it
- 34:30takes me I could understand if the video he got was just him playing at home and
- 34:35but if he's going to be at a convention that's great footage for them cuz they
- 34:39were even at the time the documentary was trying to make that bit of a rivalry
- 34:43and so they would have definitely got fil that 100% yeah so that's the latest
- 34:49update and Billy tune in soon for when he well I
- 34:55fines and he loses yeah and it won't be long too I think in the next couple of
- 34:59months this is this whole thing is going to be wrapped up um just talking about
- 35:03finishing old games and just old games that weren't meant to be finished uh I
- 35:08set a little challenge for myself recently of playing some old Amiga games
- 35:14that I never finished as a kid and playing them all the way through now so
- 35:20I've picked a handful of games that were particularly Troublesome to me as kids
- 35:25Batman the movie was one um because I loved Batman and I love the
- 35:29Batman game but it is it it it is brutally difficult now I'm gonna ask are
- 35:35you finding it easier or harder now both both
- 35:40so so Batman specifically I have not finished yet because it is tedious as
- 35:46[ __ ] like I don't even enjoy playing it at least as a kid I enjoyed every time
- 35:51now it's just frustrating because I'm like how can something off screen kill
- 35:55me like that is just not fair um but there was a game do you happen to know
- 36:01dizzy Prince of the Yol folk no so there was this series of
- 36:07games for I know there were for amstrad
- 36:10CPC Atari St Amiga that that ER of the
- 36:15the 16bit Y computers around the late ' 80s um there was a series of games
- 36:20called dizzy Prince of the Yol folk and he was this little egg and he was
- 36:25[ __ ] hard to control because if you if you like the joystick to the left he
- 36:28would just tumble to the left of the screen you know what I mean and that was
- 36:32part of the challenge was you had to it was like controlling a drunk person and
- 36:37it wasn't like the controls we have today it's oh yeah that's right you it's
- 36:43on or off it's not a that's right um but there's one episode called dizzy
- 36:48Treasure Island where you plays dizzy the egg and you strained on Treasure
- 36:52Island you got to get off it's essentially an inventory based puzzle
- 36:55game so you find items that unlock things that you can get you know doors
- 37:01to get through and and and unlock puzzles later on but I barely even
- 37:05understood how to even play it as a kid like it just it just didn't make any
- 37:11sense to me um and I put it on I had a day to myself last week I put it on I
- 37:17played it all day long and I and I finished I went through the entire game
- 37:23and it's pretty punishing like I had to start again and it start completely
- 37:27again a couple of times because you could you could lock yourself out of
- 37:31winning a game by just doing going into an area with the wrong thing in your
- 37:34inventory or something back then y
- 37:38um but man the satisfaction I had
- 37:43finally that I started in 1989 and finally finished in 2023 I
- 37:49think the problem with some of those games as well and the reason why they
- 37:52become a bit syy is a lot of people didn't use to finish games that wasn't
- 37:55really a thing back then you'd play and that was it you're done you'd play it'
- 38:02be challenging you'd play a game for an hour or a few hours then you turn it off
- 38:06and you put another game on yep and and that still happens today but more people
- 38:11I think are finishing today but there are still games that like okay so here's
- 38:16an example a play Tale requium the reason why I know this is my sister's playing at the
- 38:21moment on the tracking site yeah 43% of Gamers have finished a game
- 38:2743% wow is re the first or the second it's the second right getting all the
- 38:33Collectibles it's not like 100% it's just the the game yeah right interesting
- 38:39and I think back then when we were growing up playing games like ' 80s 90s
- 38:43I think that percentage would have been a lot less AB so I think that's where
- 38:48the first game start off good and then they get same because they I think
- 38:52they'll finally get in because oh yeah yeah yeah when I was a kid I used to
- 38:58like to find the exact point in a game where the developers ran out of money
- 39:03you know we're just like let's just [ __ ] repeat the last couple of levels
- 39:07with a different background or a different skin and then just get to the
- 39:09end um but also now I think that we play less games at once like I might have a
- 39:16couple of games going but i' I've usually got a one primary game that I
- 39:19want to play Until I finish whereas that was never the case as a kid now for me it
- 39:26was yeah cuz I remember when I first got my
- 39:30first PC was an amrad yeah back when it
- 39:35was very easy to Pirate games yes that came home piracy was just it was just
- 39:40part of it came home from work and he went here and there was just like a 100
- 39:45discs full of different games so it was just what's this one what's this one I
- 39:49play this one for a bit this one got too hard jump to the next one there are some
- 39:53games I wish I could remember the name of so I could go back cuz there's some I
- 39:57want to finish yeah yeah but I cannot remember the
- 40:02name like at allg game that's we got to the last
- 40:08level and we couldn't work it out oh yeah and only thing I can remember cuz I
- 40:12was very young at the time was there's a guy going up a ladder and we could put a
- 40:16squid on his head I people on Reddit would be talking
- 40:20about that for sure I would know what it is L squid hold on hold on hold on hold on hold
- 40:25on RPG but the thing is I may not even remember it correctly I just remember I
- 40:31hope you don't this hilarious like on his head on head
- 40:37game yeah it's going to be a tough one cuz he he put squid in now it's just
- 40:43all squid Games Squid Ink squid campaign yeah because it wasn't about the squid
- 40:49that was just an item yeah that's just something in there yeah yeah well it's
- 40:53like in the first Monkey Island which if you want to uh
- 40:58you don't have a wrench but you have a monkey and if you happen to live in a
- 41:01country where they call a spanner a monkey wrench then you might think to
- 41:05put the use the monkey to undo the [ __ ] screw but if you don't you've
- 41:09just never [ __ ] doing that why would
- 41:13you yeah yes no I can't find it but but that sounds like something that uh it it
- 41:19was this futuristic sci-fi alien world type thing and yeah I just cannot
- 41:24remember the name of it for my life sounds amazing this just Cly sounds like
- 41:27something I'd be into he asked my father he was the one
- 41:31who really played it okay well yeah get
- 41:34your dad on he know for sure yeah um I've barely played any games at
- 41:41all this week to be honest and in fact I've not even booted up my Xbox but I
- 41:45did go online to have a look at the new
- 41:48UI that Xbox has uh updated to I assume
- 41:52you you've seen it I've been testing it
- 41:56for quite some time oh sure um from what I've seen I don't mind it at all
- 42:01actually bit I think it's turned into a big ad but I actually find this yeah
- 42:05once you learn how to use it it's actually so much easier so when you say
- 42:10a big ad it's because when you're scrolling through games it changes your
- 42:14wallpaper to be scenes from those games stuff like that games there also a big
- 42:18focus on like what's popular at the moment which is just bestselling games
- 42:23and Game Pass is very prominent but no I find it very easy to get to library now
- 42:27and your game store and the store and oh it's great but yeah people just don't
- 42:33like it I don't know why look I mean if you don't like it I'm pretty sure it's
- 42:38very very customiz customizable customizable uh and you can you can
- 42:44pretty much I think this is what some with I think when it turned on it got
- 42:49rid of a lot of people's like they already C set up their own okay
- 42:54right yeah yeah right okay I will like when I first started using this I didn't
- 42:59like it okay but once you get used to it and learn it it actually I can't think
- 43:03of a single new interface on any system whatsoever that I have liked from the
- 43:08start it's always annoys me the day I have to to change no one likes change
- 43:15that's right but no I I say for people out there who don't like it just give it
- 43:20a moment you get used to it very quickly and I helped test
- 43:24this right yeah on it yes okay I gave feedback cuz at the very start it was
- 43:30actually quite hard to find the store oh right we're just going to put
- 43:35it on every screen and we're just going to force you to look at it all the whole
- 43:38time no they've actually now at the top of the screen you can very quickly get
- 43:42to the there's some little quick there's a quick links right yeah but at when
- 43:46they first released it it wasn't there and I had a hard time like because the
- 43:52first thing I do every day when I log on to the Xbox what's the new game that's
- 43:56come out sure that's the first thing I do it's weird I don't go for what game
- 44:01am I playing it's is there anything new no no no I do no I do that with films
- 44:04and stuff too I do that if I go to Netflix I always try to look at what's
- 44:08new rather I want to see if there's something better than what I'm currently
- 44:10in the middle of but I I I but because of this I can actually now brag about
- 44:16something go ahead I did something that I didn't think I'd ever be able to
- 44:22do I'm now currently seventh in Australia for Gam scho seven finally
- 44:28bypassed eight which I thought would be impossible you thought getting to eight
- 44:32was impossible I've heard you say it
- 44:35seven seven and now I man now I'm even
- 44:40thinking I could get to six if I really really committed like six is
- 44:46still what is it 990,000 gamer score away was there something specific that
- 44:53allowed you to get to Seven from eight was there oh here's the thing so I've
- 44:58been discussing it on the saile podcast as well they think I've killed [Music]
- 45:04him right yeah um the thing is the guy who was in seventh hasn't gotten an
- 45:10achievement since the 18th of June ah right so I don't know what's happened
- 45:16yet Sarah and er a girlfriend probably right yeah he maybe got a life but
- 45:22yeah his wife had a baby that'll be the end of it yeah no more game for you
- 45:28that's the only thing I yeah cuz he's just stopped I don't know why but yeah that's
- 45:34how I passed him he just stopped it's only been six weeks and I trust me I put
- 45:38on like 100,000 in the last couple of months like I've been okay just need to introduce
- 45:45some available women to yes numbers six and five and see if we can get you the
- 45:51top five uh look I don't think top five's possible well you didn't think
- 45:56top 10 was possible now you're seven okay but yeah like
- 46:00look so I'm at 1,
- 46:04790,000 guy [ __ ] chin doctor is uh 1.8
- 46:12million 50 is 2 million or 2.1 million
- 46:16so that's why 50 is incredible 50 is I need to quit my job and just play
- 46:22games six I think it's possible well let's do six let's get to
- 46:28six because the problem is is why he's there while I'm getting achievements
- 46:33he's also getting achievements and we're also getting the same quick achievements
- 46:36with new games that come out yeah yeah you're both exploiting whatever
- 46:40loopholes you can yes yeah yeah yeah yeah like games that come out that are
- 46:46you can get AIO CHS in half hour and then they release a title update that
- 46:50give you another thousand gamer score which is complete two more
- 46:54levels right they're cracking down that though yeah yeah unfortunately but also
- 47:01I'm okay with them cracking down on it yeah I mean it's not going to put you
- 47:06at a specific disadvantage everyone's gonna have to play by the same rules so
- 47:11yeah and I'm doing this some people get upset that you're basically buying
- 47:14achievements with some of these games yeah I mean maybe but everyone can buy
- 47:20achievements so yeah like a problem I mean playing that many games
- 47:26is N Cheap anyway so I mean there's no no one in the top 10
- 47:30is is in in the third world going I just I can't afford you know what I'm saying like
- 47:36they've got you got to spend money you got to spend money on this anyway it's
- 47:40it's a expensive hobby I think quite a few of people in front of me are
- 47:43probably getting a lot of these games for free yeah okay yeah you could be right
- 47:48well I don't know man I think at number seven you should be getting these games
- 47:51for free too I think I think it's time now to start exploiting this in whatever
- 47:56way we can I I've still got this horrible thing because I do get offers
- 48:00every now and again and I feel bad because normally the time when you
- 48:05get the offer for a free game it's from a little Indie developer or publisher
- 48:10well I'll have I'll happily pay for this to support you regardless yeah like it
- 48:13it's Triple A yeah no fine you can afford it but no someone releasing their
- 48:18first game or yeah they Little Indie and they're just making fun I I feel bad and
- 48:24so money is not the problem for you time is your problem if they were giving away
- 48:30time to play the game you would you would eat that up I'll take that in a
- 48:32second yeah it'll be like we're going to give you an eth day every week for you
- 48:36to just play games You' be like [ __ ] give me thank you
- 48:40yep yeah so I haven't played any games at all this week really but what I have
- 48:45been doing is watching a lot of TV okay so I watched uh the entirity of season
- 48:5116 of Always Sunny God that's good which
- 48:55was great now 15 was good because it was one coherent story and I love that 16 is
- 49:02good because it isn't that it goes back to just every episode is completely
- 49:07Standalone random I laugh out loud in every episode at least once only thing
- 49:13that's bugging me is the lighting the lighting is so weird it
- 49:19does look I know why think they're getting old everyone's
- 49:24got a bit more makeup on we have to bit with the photography everything in HD
- 49:29camera's not forgiving and they are getting but it just annoys me it just
- 49:35I'm okay with people looking older it's funny like every third episode you'll
- 49:39see the bar and I'll be like man why even bother having that bar set you're
- 49:43never in there anymore like all it's all just like on location now um but I I
- 49:50realized this is the journey I went on with with always sunny right when I
- 49:54first started watching it I thought Charlie Day was the funny one I thought
- 49:58he was essentially the main character of this Ensemble show he was he was always
- 50:02delivering the zingers he I thought he had the most Charisma and then at a
- 50:07certain point I started going now Max's the funny one cuz he's the idiot and he
- 50:10thinks he's cool but he isn't so he is the the uncoolest cool guy and and and
- 50:16he and then of course Rob melan who plays him started doing other stuff and
- 50:19I'm like no this guy at this point I think Glenn Howton is not only the best
- 50:25actor in the show but I think he's one of the best working actors
- 50:32today and I can back this up because I then watched everything else that he's
- 50:38been in this week as well so uh this is a juliard trained
- 50:44classical thespian right who's just found he was the after of the group he
- 50:49was he found himself working in sitcoms but have you ever seen another sitcom
- 50:54called AP Bio yes I love this show I had never heard of it
- 51:00up until two days ago now watched the entirety of the first season listen if
- 51:05you haven't heard this Glenn Halton stars as a disgraced Harvard Professor
- 51:09who has to teach at a high school and it's light it's not particularly
- 51:15subversive or edgy um but I it is
- 51:20hilarious laugh out loud hilarious well me he's pretty much playing his same
- 51:25character just guess yeah and in fact you know those
- 51:30couple of seasons of Always Sunny where he is not in it as much doing AP Bio
- 51:36yeah exactly but my brain also thinks that this is just him him yes just just
- 51:42away from Philadelphia for a bit right um but I also watched the blackbery
- 51:48movie where he stars as one of the co-founders of black bre the
- 51:54phone um this this is an excellent movie by the way um '90s probably leans a
- 52:01little too heavy into the period stuff like you know when they do movies in the
- 52:0580s and 90s about nerds and like everyone's always got a Ninja Turtles
- 52:10shirt on and you know what I mean like it's just it's just a little but but
- 52:14then again you you're wearing a Star Wars droids shirt right now
- 52:18so so maybe it's just dead accurate but but other other than that there the
- 52:24that's the only thing and there's this weird point where they talk about um
- 52:27John karmac and they say he's from ID instead of saying he's from ID which I
- 52:32yeah which I thought was but then again back in the 90s I think I used to think
- 52:37it was called ID too cuz I didn't know what an ID was back then because I knew
- 52:40nothing of Freud or psychology or anything yeah so yeah maybe maybe
- 52:45there's method to that Madness um but it's an excellent movie Glenn Howton is
- 52:50excellent at it he's he's so uncool he he's got he's like they've shaved the
- 52:55kind of Monk hair do so he looks like he's receding and he plays an absolute
- 52:59prick okay um he's he's the guy who's like you know there's the brains behind
- 53:05blackberry and then the the money he plays the money so he he just cares
- 53:10about the bottom line and and he's an absolute cun y that would he could do
- 53:14that well yeah but they're talking about they're talking about Oscar nom for him
- 53:20for this role okay maybe I should have a look at it then even though I normally
- 53:24don't like Oscar movies this is not an Oscar movie okay I guess it could be
- 53:29because it's got those Feelgood moments in it and but it's it's
- 53:34more I I'd say it's it's did you watch the tetris movie from no I need to oh
- 53:40yeah you got to watch that too tonally they're incredibly similar you know like
- 53:43just I'm sure it was definitely not as as exciting as this to make Tetris all
- 53:48the Blackberry you know what I mean but they they make it look like you missed
- 53:53out on a cultural Movement by not being one of the I would just say bio like it
- 53:57goes before Seasons yeah where it starts a struggle is the children
- 54:02age ah right yeah because he only you
- 54:07ever only ever seen teaching one class a high school teacher only teaches hourong
- 54:12classes so he's not going to be with them for the whole day and you assume or
- 54:17even every day of the week but you only ever see him teach one class I don't
- 54:21know maybe second season it's only that one class but you see they replace some
- 54:26some you can actually go I can see your 5:00 shadow I think that's where they
- 54:31that show struggles a bit but some of the characters do get even better they
- 54:36go interesting yeah right like the the nerdy girl glasses amazing love her
- 54:43throughout she's already amazing yeah right I have a feeling she's 30 years
- 54:46old I think that actress is actually much older than she's playing but on a
- 54:49on a girl who doesn't matter so much that that episode where he starts dating
- 54:55that one kid mom and um he he comes into class and he's like did you bang your
- 55:01mom last night he's like no he's like well neither did I cuz you were making
- 55:04too much noise upstairs
- 55:06like it's oh it's so good it's so good Matt if you're listening back and you
- 55:12don't know what this is you should you should get on this [ __ ] too um I also
- 55:16watched one more Glenn Howton film this week it's called The Thief collector um
- 55:21this was interesting because it's actually a documentary and he only
- 55:25appears in the Recreations right this is a true story of this old couple who
- 55:31lived like in a trailer park in middle of America somewhere and when they died
- 55:36like in their 70s or whatever you know in America you can buy someone's whole
- 55:41estate and then just start selling off their stuff yeah
- 55:45like yeah if there's no one there it's just
- 55:50yeah exactly so that's what this was these guys had this trailer and it was
- 55:55full of junk and so these two dudes who make a living by just buying uh storage
- 55:59containers and stuff like that and then selling them off they bought it they
- 56:03noticed there was heaps of paintings in it right so they they took the paintings
- 56:07to a secondhand store and they said oh do you want any of these you know maybe
- 56:11five bucks each or whatever and they went oh no these aren't very good um but
- 56:14this one though I'll give you 200 grand for and they were like what and they
- 56:19went she went oh this is a very very famous painting and they were like what
- 56:25and they realized they were all very famous paintings and this couple were
- 56:30art thieves and they've been traveling around the world going to Muse museums
- 56:35and stealing these expensive works of art and they just coming home and
- 56:39hanging them in their house not bragging not trying to sell them and make money
- 56:43just put them in their house that makes a sense cuz like if you Ste art and then
- 56:49you try to sell on well yeah like people know yeah but I I find it amazing that
- 56:54like this store went I give when they could have G yeah I'll take I'll just
- 56:58take the lot for $5 each yeah ex exactly
- 57:02right exactly um it's a little bit more Nuance than that but but yes essentially
- 57:07that is but but then they they start getting these appraised and then people
- 57:10start going this is a painting that disappeared in like the 80s you know and
- 57:15then they were like where did it disappear from oh from a Paris art
- 57:17gallery and they're like uh in 1987 this
- 57:20couple were in Paris like and they work
- 57:24out that all of these paintings are from from galleries stolen Across America and
- 57:30around the world and also they found out that this guy had written a book
- 57:36couldn't get it published ended up self-publishing it so they get a copy of
- 57:39this book and it's a bunch of short stories about this kind of international
- 57:44jet Setter cool spy dude explain how he
- 57:48sto correct or one story talks about
- 57:53killing this guy who went missing in real life and they're like well we can pretty much
- 57:58assume that he did kill this guy oh my God yeah so Glen Howton plays him and
- 58:05like in real life he's not handsome like Glenn Howard like Glenn howon plays him
- 58:09as he appears in the short stories where he's like an idealized version of
- 58:13himself yeah um and it's very good and it's it's interesting it's very
- 58:18interesting look I I'm going to say that from that cast I will say who I think is
- 58:23the better actor and and that is David Hornsby yeah
- 58:28I can I agree with that too and in fact he's he's now got an a producer credit
- 58:33on um Always Sunny now too I noticed this season so at a certain point he
- 58:38must have gotten involved but he's a comical genius he he is because like
- 58:42because this where I think he's a little bit different like Glenn stuff because
- 58:44Glenn he's playing the same yeah true D everything he's in he's different in
- 58:50every single show he's in oh yeah yeah there's there's been times where it's
- 58:54taken me multiple episodes of a new show before I realized oh [ __ ] that's that's
- 58:59him yeah yeah so I say I'm going to say I'm going to say he's the better actor
- 59:03I'm sorry fuing Cricket in this in this season where I think he's only in one
- 59:07episode but he's pimping out that young boy
- 59:13like go and turn around show them the goods it's so getting better and better
- 59:19yeah I'm scared that we only do have two more seasons left I know that episode in
- 59:25it's several seasons ago but remembering this white where Cricket gets a
- 59:31girlfriend then at the end of the episode you find that he's just he's so
- 59:35smacked out that he's actually just with a
- 59:38dog which is he's been part of dog or before so it's it's
- 59:44yeah because like at the moment like yes they've said that they renewed for at
- 59:49least two more seasons and they could easily get renewed from all but I think
- 59:53I don't think they will continue well for the next two I think it's just going
- 59:56to be I can't believe it has yeah that's right yeah
- 1:00:01cuz you know that um melan is buying more sports teams now right like like
- 1:00:06he's he's just going he's leaning into that he brought rexam
- 1:00:11FC them up to another league and now he's what Alpine
- 1:00:16F1 yeah which that cannot be
- 1:00:20cheap no1 no no correct correct yeah
- 1:00:26it's it's uh it's it's one of the most
- 1:00:29expensive so I me that's why only you know couple of dozen car manufacturers
- 1:00:36even have teams you know what I mean in the F1 yeah so is is and I think they
- 1:00:41goal is probably do the same as what they did with rexam to get them promoted
- 1:00:45to get this team that's I don't follow one they're not great are they no
- 1:00:51there's there's there's kind of four teams that will always win or come in
- 1:00:56the top four and then there's a dozen teams that are basically competing for
- 1:01:02last place so so I think he's there to try I think he's going to try and do
- 1:01:07they're going to now be the fifth team that so there's five teams that are
- 1:01:10always at the top yeah I think proba make another show yeah I
- 1:01:16believe so let me just uh cuz they're all buddy buddy even
- 1:01:23though they only met when they went had want to buy a team with me yeah and
- 1:01:29apparently they kind of only did it because they were like they both were
- 1:01:32kind of friends of one another sorry fans of one another and they were like
- 1:01:37it would be good to be friends yeah you know
- 1:01:43um okay so I've got here the first AR
- 1:01:46comes up I say is F1 iom SL L points 1.3
- 1:01:51million bill $1.3 billion do deal Ry
- 1:01:54Ryan Reynolds with Ryan Reynolds so I
- 1:01:58think billion Jesus Christ billion see I've got here I've got a I've got a much
- 1:02:03more conservative figure here 218 million but that that seems too low to
- 1:02:08me yeah maybe that's Euros um yeah 1.3 billion
- 1:02:14seems also seems a bit low but they're not a they're not a a a great team but
- 1:02:19they're not they're certainly not I mean they're not bad enough that you would
- 1:02:22think you'd just pick them up for cheap put it that way yeah yeah
- 1:02:27Al this is yes so it's 200 million
- 1:02:32euro yeah 200 million euro I guess that's a lot of money Point secure a 200
- 1:02:36million euro cash injection from a group of investors including actor Ryan Reynolds
- 1:02:42melan melan will be in part of that lucrative Investments have helped him
- 1:02:46amass a net worth of about $50 million that doesn't sound like that much but
- 1:02:51then again I don't know I mean so don't get me wrong I don't have $50 million
- 1:02:54but a million isn't what it used to be no see it's weird for million million
- 1:03:00dollars for us is still quite a lot 50 million it's
- 1:03:05unimaginable yeah but rich people I used to think if you had a million dollars
- 1:03:10you were rich now if you have a million dollars it just means he bought a house
- 1:03:13in Sydney like if you have a million dollars you're very comfortable because
- 1:03:18you own your house and then you you just you still got to work because yeah I
- 1:03:23mean I owe a million dollars to a bank yeah uh I mean I'm still mind blown that
- 1:03:28they would give me that much money imagine if you didn't owe that how
- 1:03:32awesome would your life be mate like the strangle hold of the banks
- 1:03:38on me right now is is insane that's for another podcast
