Transcript
- 0:10Speaker 1: We are up and running with the latest edition of
- 0:12Speaker 1: Birds Weekly presented by the inside of the Birds Network.
- 0:15Speaker 1: For my main man, Barrett Brooks, I'm Derek Gunn. Barrett,
- 0:19Speaker 1: there's a whole lot of stuff to cover from this
- 0:21Speaker 1: fiasco against the Rams, a game the Eagles had a
- 0:23Speaker 1: chance to win. The Rams initially gift-drafted the game to
- 0:27Speaker 1: the Eagles, and the Eagles returned the favor and gift-drafted
- 0:30Speaker 1: right back to them. First of all, your general impressions
- 0:34Speaker 1: of what went down.
- 0:37Speaker 2: My general impression is that the 20 points were just
- 0:39Speaker 2: fool's gold. You know, they were put in great positions.
- 0:43Speaker 2: You know, the defense, you know, got them down there close.
- 0:46Speaker 2: And then the punt return got them close. I just
- 0:49Speaker 2: think this offense is not something that sustains drives. I mean,
- 0:55Speaker 2: and everybody's screaming, you know, oh, you know, they, nobody
- 1:00Speaker 2: really knows. Everybody's saying they know, but they don't know.
- 1:02Speaker 3: You know what I mean? Nobody.
- 1:03Speaker 2: I mean, you can't blame it on Jalen. You can't
- 1:05Speaker 2: blame it on Mannion. You can't blame it on anybody, really,
- 1:09Speaker 2: but the offensive line. I said they could take blame.
- 1:16Speaker 2: No matter what you call. Until the offensive line plays better,
- 1:20Speaker 2: you're not going to be able to go.
- 1:21Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying?
- 1:22Speaker 2: And I understand there's a lot of buys and a
- 1:23Speaker 2: lot of different positions. But, you know, you get paid
- 1:25Speaker 2: to play. You know, if you get the opportunity to play,
- 1:28Speaker 2: you got to play. You got to play well.
- 1:31Speaker 1: With that said, we go inside the lines, and let's
- 1:33Speaker 1: stay with the offensive line for a moment. An hour
- 1:35Speaker 1: before kickoff, we find out that Lane Johnson, because of
- 1:41Speaker 1: personal reasons, bowed out of this game. And all of
- 1:45Speaker 1: a sudden, a rookie, who's a behemoth of a man,
- 1:48Speaker 1: by the way, 6'9, 345 pounds, finds out he's starting
- 1:53Speaker 1: at right tackle. If you were in that position, what
- 1:57Speaker 1: would you initially be thinking? If you're a rookie... You're
- 2:01Speaker 1: just going out there to go through the game warm-ups.
- 2:03Speaker 1: You feel you're going to be sitting on a bench.
- 2:05Speaker 1: All of a sudden, you find out you started right
- 2:08Speaker 1: tackle replacing a future Hall of Famer, and you're going
- 2:11Speaker 1: up against the Fast and Furious Rams defensive front.
- 2:16Speaker 3: You just got to play, man.
- 2:17Speaker 2: No excuse for it. I've had it happen for me before.
- 2:20Speaker 2: I've had it happen for me.
- 2:21Speaker 3: Okay. It was– oh, my goodness. When was that?
- 2:25Speaker 2: It was like year three or something like that, and
- 2:29Speaker 2: we're going up and we're playing– against the Green Bay Packers.
- 2:33Speaker 3: Okay.
- 2:33Speaker 2: And all of a sudden, from out of nowhere, I
- 2:37Speaker 2: was back up there. And then they told me, hey, Brooksie,
- 2:43Speaker 2: you probably won't even dress this guy.
- 2:44Speaker 3: I'm like, I won't even dress? What are you talking about?
- 2:46Speaker 2: I mean, I dressed every... I can't believe they weren't
- 2:48Speaker 2: going to dress me. I'm like, why aren't you dressing me?
- 2:52Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying? They gave me no excuse
- 2:53Speaker 3: or nothing. You know, well, you know, we're going to go...
- 2:55Speaker 3: I said, all right, cool. I mean, that's what you
- 2:57Speaker 3: want to do, Aiden.
- 2:58Speaker 4: You know.
- 3:00Speaker 2: Far be it for me to want to go out
- 3:01Speaker 2: there and play, but I'm cool with it. Long story long,
- 3:05Speaker 2: I get a call at 5.30 in the morning.
- 3:09Speaker 3: Hey, get up. Get up. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go, Brooksie.
- 3:13Speaker 3: Let's go. We ain't got time. Let's go. You got
- 3:16Speaker 3: to play. You got to play. I said, Ray. Ray
- 3:19Speaker 3: Rose was my coach. I said, Ray, you called me
- 3:21Speaker 3: at 5.30 in the morning.
- 3:22Speaker 2: Yesterday, the coach just told me that I'm not even
- 3:25Speaker 2: dressing until now I'm starting.
- 3:27Speaker 3: I said, I'm not wearing it.
- 3:29Speaker 2: Right tackle, that's how warm I started. Right tackle, let's go.
- 3:32Speaker 2: You got to play right tackle. I said, oh, oh, okay,
- 3:37Speaker 2: I get it.
- 3:37Speaker 3: I get it. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Coop got Reggie-itis.
- 3:40Speaker 3: He got Reggie-itis. I said, what the hell is Reggie-itis? Reggie-itis.
- 3:47Speaker 3: Reggie White. The minister, you know what I'm saying? I mean,
- 3:50Speaker 3: Reggie White, you know? So, I mean, I had to play, man.
- 3:53Speaker 3: And it, I mean... You know what I mean? The
- 3:55Speaker 3: young boy didn't have to play against anybody like Reggie
- 3:57Speaker 3: White or anybody. But, you know, you get.
- 3:59Speaker 2: Pushed into playing, you know, that's why they drafted him,
- 4:01Speaker 2: so he can play. So he went out there, and
- 4:04Speaker 2: I will say this. He played well for the first
- 4:09Speaker 2: two seconds of every play. First two seconds of every play,
- 4:14Speaker 2: he played well. Got his stance, boom, popped out there,
- 4:17Speaker 2: got his hands on the guy, locked the guy out,
- 4:19Speaker 2: block him and everything. But then he gets around two
- 4:22Speaker 2: and a half, three. When he thinks the play is over,
- 4:24Speaker 2: he just stops. Why are you stopping? You're stopping. You
- 4:29Speaker 2: can't stop. The play is still going on. You have
- 4:31Speaker 2: been told, and I know I was, since you were
- 4:34Speaker 2: a little kid, play to the whistle.
- 4:38Speaker 3: Play to the whistle. And he would just stop.
- 4:41Speaker 2: So this has to be something that's been learned or
- 4:44Speaker 2: conditioned or it's been done on that team that's been acceptable.
- 4:52Speaker 2: It might not have been coached, but it's acceptable to
- 4:54Speaker 2: those guys to do that, to not play through the whistle,
- 4:58Speaker 2: to sit back after that.
- 4:59Speaker 3: You feel, oh, I'm done on this play, and sit
- 5:02Speaker 3: back and be a spectator. I'm like, no, you can't
- 5:04Speaker 3: do that. You got to play to the whistle.
- 5:06Speaker 2: And too many times he didn't play to the whistle,
- 5:09Speaker 2: and all of a sudden Jalen gets hit. You just
- 5:11Speaker 2: can't do that, man. So that's my only gripe, man.
- 5:14Speaker 2: He's got to play the whole play. You got to
- 5:17Speaker 2: go to the whistle. You can't do that, man. You
- 5:20Speaker 2: got to play. And especially when you got a quarterback
- 5:22Speaker 2: that's a dual threat player. When you got a quarterback
- 5:25Speaker 2: that can improvise, elongate plays, you never know where he's
- 5:28Speaker 2: going to end up. I learned that early because I'm
- 5:31Speaker 2: blocking for my rookie year. I'm blocking for Randall Cunningham. RC,
- 5:35Speaker 2: you think the play is over with, and he's still
- 5:37Speaker 2: running around back there trying to freelance.
- 5:40Speaker 3: So I know what it is to play like that.
- 5:41Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying?
- 5:42Speaker 2: Playing as a quarterback like that, playing with a quarterback
- 5:44Speaker 2: like that. So you just got to play to the whistle, man.
- 5:47Speaker 2: And I think it's something that's in the culture of
- 5:50Speaker 2: that Eagles locker room now that you don't play to
- 5:52Speaker 2: the whistle.
- 5:53Speaker 3: Well, at least on the offensive line, they're not playing
- 5:55Speaker 3: to the whistle.
- 5:56Speaker 2: And it's putting us in bad positions. I mean, you
- 5:59Speaker 2: look at the week before against the Bears, same thing.
- 6:03Speaker 2: They played to the whistle. But you watch their guys
- 6:05Speaker 2: playing to the whistle. They went and got a fumble
- 6:08Speaker 2: because they played to the whistle. We don't do that.
- 6:11Speaker 2: We're still sitting back there chilling. You know what I'm saying?
- 6:14Speaker 3: I'm done with my block. Let me spectate and see
- 6:17Speaker 3: what's going on. You always follow the ball.
- 6:20Speaker 2: You follow the ball just in case something happens, just
- 6:23Speaker 2: in case somebody fumbles, just in case there's an interception,
- 6:26Speaker 2: just in case, just in case.
- 6:28Speaker 3: You got to do that.
- 6:29Speaker 2: It just goes to show that you're an aggressive player.
- 6:33Speaker 3: You want to finish guys.
- 6:34Speaker 2: You know, somebody come over and hit your quarterback out
- 6:36Speaker 2: of bounds, and you're not there to help? That's what
- 6:41Speaker 2: I'm talking about, man. You got to play to the whistle.
- 6:44Speaker 2: And that's got to be fundamentally ingraining guys early. And
- 6:48Speaker 2: then now, you got to reteach guys to play to
- 6:50Speaker 2: the whistle? That's a problem, man. And I'm telling this
- 6:53Speaker 2: to everybody that watches film. I mean, I'm going to
- 6:55Speaker 2: tell everybody that just watches film. I'm just not up
- 6:58Speaker 2: here just bitching. I'm telling you. I'm here telling the truth.
- 7:02Speaker 2: All you have to do is watch the tape. The
- 7:04Speaker 2: eye on the sky does not lie. See how many
- 7:06Speaker 2: times our authors have lied. Runs to the ball to
- 7:11Speaker 2: finish the play. The play should never be over with
- 7:14Speaker 2: until you hear the whistle. And then you block just
- 7:16Speaker 2: a little bit past that. You just take it to
- 7:18Speaker 2: the limit. If you do that, I guarantee you'll get
- 7:22Speaker 2: better results. Because no more than you finish the play,
- 7:24Speaker 2: you might get a couple of flatbacks.
- 7:26Speaker 3: Right.
- 7:26Speaker 2: But you're just finishing the play, man. Run to the ball.
- 7:29Speaker 2: Help your quarterback out. Run to the ball. Pick up
- 7:32Speaker 2: a fumble. Run to the ball just in case you're
- 7:35Speaker 2: just going to finish somebody. This is something that, you.
- 7:37Speaker 3: Know, they've got to get a handle on this, and
- 7:39Speaker 3: they've got to get a handle on it fast.
- 7:40Speaker 2: Or we won't be winning anything. Everything starts with the
- 7:43Speaker 2: offensive line. Everything starts with the offensive line. And right now,
- 7:46Speaker 2: they're not good enough to win.
- 7:48Speaker 1: Well, the young rookie, he got baptized real quick on
- 7:53Speaker 1: the right side Sunday against the Rams.
- 7:56Speaker 3: But he didn't play well the first two and a
- 7:58Speaker 3: half minutes. Okay.
- 8:00Speaker 4: Okay.
- 8:01Speaker 3: Now, about the guy. I'm sorry, two and a half seconds. Yeah.
- 8:04Speaker 1: About the guy he replaced, Lane Johnson, once again, and
- 8:09Speaker 1: it has been very loudly rumored, this was another case
- 8:13Speaker 1: of him going through the mental health issues that he
- 8:17Speaker 1: has well documented publicly. He has talked openly in front
- 8:21Speaker 1: of cameras about it. He's talked to you. He has
- 8:25Speaker 1: talked to me, multitudes of other media people about it
- 8:30Speaker 1: as he promotes, you know, take care of yourself. before
- 8:34Speaker 1: anything else.
- 8:36Speaker 3: Right.
- 8:37Speaker 1: I got to get your opinion. He bowed out an
- 8:41Speaker 1: hour before the game.
- 8:42Speaker 3: Okay.
- 8:44Speaker 1: There's a possibility it could happen during the game at
- 8:48Speaker 1: the course of this season.
- 8:50Speaker 3: Okay.
- 8:51Speaker 1: You and I both know people who have gone through
- 8:53Speaker 1: depressions and anxieties.
- 8:55Speaker 3: Right.
- 8:57Speaker 1: And I've said this outwardly, and I want a former
- 9:01Speaker 1: professional player's opinion.
- 9:04Speaker 3: I.e.
- 9:05Speaker 1: Yourself, is it at a point where Lane should consider
- 9:10Speaker 1: calling it a career now instead of at the end
- 9:14Speaker 1: of this season? Now, let me preface it by saying this.
- 9:18Speaker 1: Lane Johnson is one of my all-time favorite Eagles. He
- 9:21Speaker 1: is a friend of mine. He's a friend of yours.
- 9:23Speaker 1: I love Lane. But at some point, he doesn't need
- 9:29Speaker 1: the money. He's got plenty of money. He's got two rings.
- 9:34Speaker 1: He's got three kids, a wife. Should he consider now
- 9:41Speaker 1: taking care of himself first more than his professional status?
- 9:45Speaker 1: And with that said, should the Eagles also possibly consider
- 9:51Speaker 1: moving on from Lane, meaning finding somebody else to anchor
- 9:55Speaker 1: that spot?
- 9:56Speaker 5: Football is finally back, and PrizePix is bringing out their

- 11:43Speaker 2: That's a tough question to really answer because we know
- 11:47Speaker 2: that they talked Lane into coming back.
- 11:49Speaker 3: Yes.
- 11:50Speaker 2: He considered to go ahead and hang it up. But
- 11:53Speaker 2: he made a commitment to the Eagles when he did
- 11:56Speaker 2: come back. And I think he should honor that commitment.
- 11:58Speaker 2: I think he should come back to work.
- 12:01Speaker 3: He should come back to work.
- 12:02Speaker 2: And if that's the case, that's why he didn't play
- 12:09Speaker 2: in the game, then we.
- 12:11Speaker 3: Got to understand that that's a.
- 12:13Speaker 2: Tough thing to deal with, man. Your mental health is
- 12:17Speaker 2: something that.
- 12:20Speaker 2: Even when you're on the field, you're dealing with it
- 12:22Speaker 2: off the field to do it. It's something you can't shake, man.
- 12:24Speaker 2: And that's something that you just, you just can't, it's
- 12:26Speaker 2: not something you can just, you know, all right, let
- 12:28Speaker 2: me set this aside because it stays with you.
- 12:31Speaker 3: You know, you can't just let it go. So, I mean, that's,
- 12:34Speaker 3: that's just tough for me to really say that.
- 12:37Speaker 2: I mean, I think he should know it's not tough.
- 12:40Speaker 2: I think he should honor his commitment and stay with
- 12:42Speaker 2: the team. And I think once he gets through dealing
- 12:45Speaker 2: with what he's dealing with, and if it is mental
- 12:47Speaker 2: health issue, If it is, then he needs to deal
- 12:50Speaker 2: with it, but he also needs to understand that he
- 12:53Speaker 2: made a commitment to the team, and I think he's
- 12:54Speaker 2: going to honor that commitment to the team.
- 12:56Speaker 3: I think he will. We wish Lane the best. Absolutely.
- 13:01Speaker 3: That's our dude. That's our guy.
- 13:02Speaker 1: We have the utmost respect for him more so as
- 13:05Speaker 1: a person than a football player.
- 13:08Speaker 3: Prayers are with you, Lane, in that regard.
- 13:11Speaker 1: As for this game itself, for the life of me,
- 13:14Speaker 1: I sit back here and I still analyze this game
- 13:17Speaker 1: and there's enough blame to go around for everybody in
- 13:21Speaker 1: this game.
- 13:21Speaker 3: I don't know. Yes.
- 13:22Speaker 1: From the coaches to the players, the only element that
- 13:25Speaker 1: played well was special teams. Well, the defense played well
- 13:29Speaker 1: for three plus quarters, but in terms of consistent overall
- 13:33Speaker 1: good play, the special teams. Now this offense, this, this
- 13:38Speaker 1: so-called new West coast offense, this Sean Manion offense did
- 13:43Speaker 1: basically the same thing it did in Chicago and six
- 13:48Speaker 1: days prior to their meeting with the Rams. They play
- 13:51Speaker 1: well for the first 30 minutes. They come out in
- 13:54Speaker 1: the third quarter and play like they've never played together before.
- 13:57Speaker 1: And granted, you know, Saquon went down early with a hamstring.
- 14:02Speaker 1: All of a sudden, Quinion bows out. Jonathan Grenard bows
- 14:06Speaker 1: out with an ankle injury. Tank Bigsby eventually would buy
- 14:10Speaker 1: out of this game. with a severe groin injury, and
- 14:12Speaker 1: as we were talking before this podcast, he's been placed
- 14:15Speaker 1: on RR and needs surgery now. His season might be over. Saquon,
- 14:19Speaker 1: with that hamstring, the way we saw him limping off
- 14:22Speaker 1: the field and grimacing, ain't no way he's going to
- 14:25Speaker 1: be ready Sunday to play Jacksonville.
- 14:26Speaker 3: Ain't no way.
- 14:28Speaker 1: But with that said, your quarterback, your offensive line, your
- 14:35Speaker 1: receivers run mediocre routes at best. I don't know what's
- 14:39Speaker 1: going on with this team, especially the offense. I just
- 14:42Speaker 1: don't understand. Now, understand, Devontae, okay, it's obvious that A.J.
- 14:48Speaker 1: Brown is a bigger loss than anybody was led to believe.
- 14:50Speaker 1: He's a big possession target. Devontae was out with a hamstring.
- 14:55Speaker 1: Your number one tight end, Dallas Goddard, is out with
- 14:57Speaker 1: a knee issue. And I understand you go into a
- 15:00Speaker 1: gunfight with a cap gun in a lot of ways.
- 15:02Speaker 3: I get that.
- 15:03Speaker 1: But you still have this team dead to rights. But
- 15:06Speaker 1: you kept giving them the momentum back. What is it
- 15:09Speaker 1: about this team in the third.
- 15:10Speaker 4: Quarter, Barrett?
- 15:12Speaker 2: They just don't have it, man. I mean, they're a
- 15:15Speaker 2: second-quarter team, period.
- 15:17Speaker 3: That's it.
- 15:18Speaker 2: If they don't get it done in the second quarter,
- 15:20Speaker 2: they're going to lose the game.
- 15:21Speaker 3: They've proven it.
- 15:23Speaker 2: If they don't get it done in the second quarter,
- 15:24Speaker 2: because they still haven't scored points in the first quarter,
- 15:27Speaker 2: if I'm not mistaken.
- 15:27Speaker 3: I don't think they scored in the first quarter yet.
- 15:30Speaker 2: They went 0 for like 13 or something like that.
- 15:34Speaker 3: 0 for 12.
- 15:34Speaker 2: 0 for 12. with first down, for third down, third
- 15:38Speaker 2: down completely. How are you expecting to win the game
- 15:41Speaker 2: with those type of numbers, those type of results?
- 15:44Speaker 3: And then.
- 15:47Speaker 2: To get down in fourth and two. You got to
- 15:52Speaker 2: make that happen. You got to make that happen. And
- 15:56Speaker 2: I'm not mad with the play call.
- 15:58Speaker 4: See, I was just going to ask, should they have
- 16:01Speaker 4: taken a three?
- 16:04Speaker 3: No.
- 16:05Speaker 2: I think they should have went Yeah, I think they
- 16:06Speaker 2: should have went on them and did what they did.
- 16:10Speaker 3: You got to go for it.
- 16:11Speaker 2: It's just the guys on the offensive line got their
- 16:13Speaker 2: butt kicked, and you can't allow that to happen.
- 16:15Speaker 3: You can't allow that to happen.
- 16:17Speaker 1: Barrett, the Rams have been bringing the pressure the entire game.
- 16:21Speaker 1: And sure enough, on their fourth and goal at the two,
- 16:25Speaker 1: they brought the heat. Jalen never settled his feet. He's
- 16:27Speaker 1: doing like this, looking around, and finally threw it.
- 16:30Speaker 3: Out to Darius Cooper in the flat, incomplete.
- 16:33Speaker 1: Now, With that said, I understand if you get the touchdown,
- 16:37Speaker 1: it's game over. It's game over. But if you take
- 16:41Speaker 1: the three, you're up by 13. So even if the
- 16:45Speaker 1: Rams get two touchdowns, it's a one-point game instead of
- 16:48Speaker 1: a four-point game. And the Eagles have an opportunity just
- 16:52Speaker 1: to get within a striking distance because Jake Elliott has
- 16:55Speaker 1: been money so far this season from long distance. And
- 16:58Speaker 1: you give him a chance to win the game with
- 17:00Speaker 1: possibly a long field goal.
- 17:02Speaker 4: But no, your genius head coach.
- 17:05Speaker 1: Now, let me backtrack a minute because on that particular drive,
- 17:09Speaker 1: which I say is the best drive of the day
- 17:11Speaker 1: because their scoring drives were short drives thanks to the
- 17:14Speaker 1: defense finally getting two turnovers. They were the last team
- 17:16Speaker 1: in the NFL to get turnovers this season. They got two,
- 17:20Speaker 1: and the offense got 10 points off those two turnovers. Now,
- 17:23Speaker 1: I will say this about this particular drive. They had
- 17:26Speaker 1: the Rams on their heel. They ran 11 plays on
- 17:29Speaker 1: that drive. 10 consecutive running plays for 62 yards to
- 17:34Speaker 1: get them down to the two-yard line, okay?
- 17:36Speaker 3: I get that.
- 17:38Speaker 1: But in a game like that, you want to keep
- 17:40Speaker 1: the heat on the Rams, okay? And what it did
- 17:44Speaker 1: was when their pass was incomplete, it gave the Rams
- 17:47Speaker 1: momentum because they walked 98 yards and took the momentum
- 17:51Speaker 1: right back from them.
- 17:52Speaker 2: Well, see, that's what I'm saying. I'm I liked the
- 17:54Speaker 2: way the defense was playing up until then. You know,
- 17:56Speaker 2: I loved the way the defense was playing up until then.
- 17:58Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 17:58Speaker 2: So I kind of had some, you know, I was like, man,
- 18:00Speaker 2: the defense, they could bail us out. I mean, Trout Jr.
- 18:03Speaker 3: Had 15 tackles, bro. Yeah. He was bowling.
- 18:07Speaker 2: You know, but I would, like I said, I would
- 18:10Speaker 2: have went for it. I'd have went for the touchdown, too.
- 18:12Speaker 2: I'd have had a better play to call. But I'd
- 18:14Speaker 2: have went for the touchdown. You had ran the ball
- 18:17Speaker 2: down their throats. Was it like 10 times.
- 18:19Speaker 3: They ran a rock? 10 straight times. But then also.
- 18:23Speaker 2: On the play with Jalen Hack, what's his name, almost
- 18:27Speaker 2: knocked the ball out of his hands.
- 18:29Speaker 3: If he'd have handed it off to.
- 18:32Speaker 2: Bigsby, if he didn't get the ball almost knocked out
- 18:37Speaker 2: of his hands and he'd have just gave the ball
- 18:39Speaker 2: to Bigsby, I think Bigsby would have scored.
- 18:40Speaker 3: On that play. I agree with you there because then
- 18:43Speaker 3: Jalen had.
- 18:43Speaker 1: To roll to his right, and it was obviously a
- 18:46Speaker 1: called run because none of the receivers were thinking pass.
- 18:49Speaker 1: All of a sudden, they turn around, Jalen's trying to
- 18:50Speaker 1: go to– The end zone is a run for no gain.
- 18:54Speaker 1: And that set up the infamous, you know, fourth down
- 18:56Speaker 1: incomplete pass to Cooper.
- 18:58Speaker 3: I get that.
- 19:00Speaker 1: But considering the way this team is, plus you're playing
- 19:03Speaker 1: with a passed up offensive line too. You're playing with
- 19:05Speaker 1: a rookie who had never played in the NFL at
- 19:09Speaker 1: right tackle. You got a center who was a guard
- 19:12Speaker 1: playing center. You got a guard who was a center
- 19:14Speaker 1: playing guard. You don't have your five horsemen out there.
- 19:19Speaker 1: Even though they got that surge and they had the
- 19:22Speaker 1: Rams defense on his heels on that drive, to me,
- 19:25Speaker 1: you got to take the sure money, which is the
- 19:27Speaker 1: three points.
- 19:29Speaker 3: Right. I understand. I know, man. I know, man.
- 19:31Speaker 2: But I'm thinking, you know, we're talking about a coach
- 19:35Speaker 2: that already at this point knew last week he should
- 19:38Speaker 2: have went for it on fourth and fourth and one.
- 19:40Speaker 2: And then he went for it when it was like
- 19:42Speaker 2: fourth and six, fourth and five. So this time I
- 19:45Speaker 2: knew he was going to do it. So I didn't
- 19:47Speaker 2: mind him going for it. I was like, hey, you've
- 19:49Speaker 2: been a gunslinger. Let's get back to it.
- 19:51Speaker 3: And, you know, if, if, if, if, if. Yeah, yeah.
- 19:57Speaker 2: You know, but I know, I know for a fact, man,
- 20:03Speaker 2: if we'd have scored, if we'd have scored, if we'd
- 20:08Speaker 2: have scored, we should have scored that touchdown, man.
- 20:10Speaker 3: Now, I'm telling you, Bigsby would have walked into the
- 20:12Speaker 3: end zone. Yeah.
- 20:14Speaker 2: If Jurgens, you know, didn't mess, you know. I just
- 20:19Speaker 2: get so frustrated because I don't want to bash players.
- 20:22Speaker 3: I don't.
- 20:22Speaker 2: I don't want to bash players. But I do have
- 20:25Speaker 2: to tell the truth about what players are doing. And
- 20:28Speaker 2: that's the problem that I'm having with trying to break
- 20:31Speaker 2: this game down. Because I'm not going to bash the players,
- 20:34Speaker 2: but I'm going to tell what's going on. I have to.
- 20:39Speaker 3: I have to tell the truth.
- 20:40Speaker 2: And when I look at the film, when I'm watching it,
- 20:42Speaker 2: I'm mad, I'm pissed, I'm going on, you know, post-game,
- 20:44Speaker 2: and I'm going, ah, I'm reacting with emotion. But I
- 20:48Speaker 2: sit down and watch the game, and I'm not using
- 20:50Speaker 2: the emotional aspect of it. I'm watching, seeing what's going on.
- 20:53Speaker 2: And I'm like, ooh, that's close. Ooh, that's close. What
- 20:56Speaker 2: is he doing here? There's a whole bunch of people
- 20:59Speaker 2: over here. He sees those people over there. He knows
- 21:02Speaker 2: we don't have enough people to block over there. So
- 21:05Speaker 2: why is it shocking... when the ball snapped and then
- 21:08Speaker 2: right there in front of his face.
- 21:10Speaker 3: You got to know that's happening.
- 21:13Speaker 2: You got to either check out the player or understand
- 21:14Speaker 2: that you're going to have to get the ball at
- 21:16Speaker 2: your hand faster. What part of that don't we understand?
- 21:20Speaker 2: So Hurts got to get that ball at his hands.
- 21:22Speaker 2: And then I'm also.
- 21:23Speaker 3: Looking at this.
- 21:24Speaker 2: If you're a guard and you don't have anybody over
- 21:27Speaker 2: you and the check is from the mic to anything
- 21:31Speaker 2: outside and you sit back and you're a guard and
- 21:34Speaker 2: somebody's on your center and somebody's on your tackle That
- 21:38Speaker 2: is a guard's greatest moment. Because right now, he can
- 21:44Speaker 2: tear somebody's ribs up, man.
- 21:46Speaker 3: He has nobody to block. I'm going to light somebody's
- 21:49Speaker 3: ribs up. I'm going to light them up.
- 21:51Speaker 2: Because they're being blocked, and they're just worried about the
- 21:54Speaker 2: guy they're blocking.
- 21:55Speaker 3: When he sat back like that, I'm looking, check.
- 21:57Speaker 2: My responsibilities, then I'm going to try to break that
- 22:03Speaker 2: nose guard's ribs.
- 22:04Speaker 3: I'm going to go out there and break that end's ribs.
- 22:08Speaker 2: He didn't touch anybody on the play.
- 22:13Speaker 3: How does Jurgens not touch anybody on the play?
- 22:16Speaker 2: How do you go plays, not just one, but plays
- 22:21Speaker 2: without touching somebody?
- 22:22Speaker 3: Say it again. Plays. There was countless.
- 22:28Speaker 2: I mean, I know for a fact there was at
- 22:29Speaker 2: least two or three plays where on a pass play,
- 22:32Speaker 2: Jurgens didn't touch anybody. You can't do that. You've got
- 22:37Speaker 2: to make your presence known. You've got to light somebody up.
- 22:41Speaker 3: Light them up. Light them up. You know what I'm saying?
- 22:45Speaker 3: Light them up, you know? That's just, you know, that's
- 22:49Speaker 3: another thing. You know, that's another thing. But then I
- 22:51Speaker 3: look at the defensive side of the ball. Huh? Yeah. No,
- 22:53Speaker 3: go ahead. You're on the roll. Go ahead. I go
- 22:57Speaker 3: to the defensive side. Bernard, he set the tone. Yeah.
- 23:00Speaker 3: Got the game rocking. He set the tone. He was
- 23:03Speaker 3: putting all kind of pressure on Matthew Stafford.
- 23:05Speaker 2: Try Junior. Played amazing. You talking instincts? Talking about knowing
- 23:10Speaker 2: how to play the linebacker position? It's like he was
- 23:13Speaker 2: shot out of a cannon. Bam, he's going to make plays.
- 23:16Speaker 3: Bam, he's going.
- 23:17Speaker 2: 15 tackles. Played an absolutely amazing game. Played like he's
- 23:22Speaker 2: a starter, and he should be a starter. I don't
- 23:25Speaker 2: know how they're going to make him a starter, but
- 23:26Speaker 2: he needs to be starting. He needs to be playing
- 23:29Speaker 2: on the field at this time. So I don't know
- 23:31Speaker 2: what you do. I don't know if you change up
- 23:33Speaker 2: the defense. You got to go four down. and have
- 23:37Speaker 2: three linemen run a 4-3 scheme? Because right now, their
- 23:40Speaker 2: base scheme is 4-2. You know what I'm saying?
- 23:43Speaker 3: 4-2.
- 23:45Speaker 2: That's how they run it. 4-2, and then they got
- 23:47Speaker 2: five DBs. You know what I'm saying? That's their base defense.
- 23:53Speaker 2: I don't know how else you get them on the field.
- 23:55Speaker 2: I don't know if you start them over Bond, you
- 23:57Speaker 2: start them over Campbell.
- 24:00Speaker 1: You're not starting them over Bond. Campbell, maybe. Yeah, maybe Campbell,
- 24:04Speaker 1: but You're not starting to move a bond.
- 24:07Speaker 2: Well, he outplayed anybody that played this year with the
- 24:12Speaker 2: exception of a bond. He played that. He balled out,
- 24:15Speaker 2: and he needs to have more reps. I don't know
- 24:17Speaker 2: if they need to switch up things or have a
- 24:20Speaker 2: rotation going and have him fight over it again. But
- 24:23Speaker 2: he should get some more burn. You know what I'm saying?
- 24:27Speaker 2: Come Sunday in London after he did his fish and chips,
- 24:32Speaker 2: He's got to be on the field. He's got to
- 24:34Speaker 2: be on the field.
- 24:37Speaker 1: Going into this game, the Eagles are down six players.
- 24:40Speaker 1: As the game progressed, four more players fell by the wayside.
- 24:44Speaker 1: They had 10, 11 players that did not hit it,
- 24:47Speaker 1: that did not start or finish this game, that normally
- 24:50Speaker 1: have some kind of input in this game.
- 24:54Speaker 3: And we don't know. Step out for a minute. Yep.
- 24:58Speaker 1: We don't know how many of these guys will return
- 25:01Speaker 1: this coming Sunday, but I have to say that this
- 25:07Speaker 1: kind of falls on Howie Roseman also in terms of
- 25:10Speaker 1: the depth on this roster or lack thereof. You look
- 25:13Speaker 1: at his last two drafts and the jury is still
- 25:16Speaker 1: out on his last two drafts, okay? Now, he had
- 25:19Speaker 1: done a good job the previous several years in terms
- 25:22Speaker 1: of filling holes by way of the draft or free
- 25:25Speaker 1: agency or a combination of the two. Can't say that
- 25:28Speaker 1: right now. It's a wait-and-see process. But they can go
- 25:33Speaker 1: out and get many more players to fill some of
- 25:35Speaker 1: the holes that they may need to fill right now,
- 25:37Speaker 1: except on their practice squad.
- 25:39Speaker 4: I know it's only four games into a season.
- 25:42Speaker 1: And I hate to say it because I normally don't
- 25:44Speaker 1: say this at a point of a season because they're
- 25:46Speaker 1: only one game out of first place. There's still a
- 25:49Speaker 1: lot more football to play. There's no dominant team in
- 25:52Speaker 1: their division. But as we look at this team right now,
- 25:58Speaker 1: this team's in dire straits, Barrett.
- 26:00Speaker 3: Oh, no question about that.
- 26:01Speaker 1: Yep.
- 26:03Speaker 2: Where do you go, man? At this point, me and
- 26:06Speaker 2: you were talking about it. Saquon, the lack of him
- 26:08Speaker 2: being back is stemmed in the way he ran off
- 26:11Speaker 2: the field. You know, his hamstring, that looked bad, man.
- 26:15Speaker 3: It looked bad.
- 26:15Speaker 2: And we know that Tank is going to be put
- 26:20Speaker 2: on IR.
- 26:21Speaker 3: So where did it go?
- 26:22Speaker 2: They got Damian Pierce and Jaden Blue. I like Jaden Blue.
- 26:26Speaker 2: Jaden Blue, you know, went to Texas. I think he
- 26:28Speaker 2: was in Dallas. On their practice squad, he's on our
- 26:31Speaker 2: practice squad right now. And Damian Pierce, I think he
- 26:34Speaker 2: has a legitimate shot in bringing him up. Because right
- 26:37Speaker 2: now we only have one healthy running back. One healthy
- 26:41Speaker 2: running back. So they got to bring one or both
- 26:43Speaker 2: of those guys up. They're going to have to. So
- 26:47Speaker 2: can they make this happen? Well, I sit back and like,
- 26:51Speaker 2: all right, what is our identity anyway? We don't have
- 26:54Speaker 2: an identity. We don't pass the ball very well. We
- 26:58Speaker 2: don't run the ball very well. We don't have an identity.
- 27:01Speaker 2: And then I thought about it. That is an identity.
- 27:05Speaker 2: We just play sorry. That's our identity. Our identity is
- 27:09Speaker 2: a sorry playing team.
- 27:10Speaker 3: I mean, that's it. Call a spade a spade.
- 27:14Speaker 2: We lack an identity because that is our identity.
- 27:18Speaker 3: It's not the identity we're used to having.
- 27:20Speaker 2: You know, usually you're either a good pass blocking team
- 27:22Speaker 2: or a good run blocking team. We're neither one right now.
- 27:25Speaker 2: We can do neither one of them consistently. And because
- 27:27Speaker 2: we can't do it consistently, we have nothing else to
- 27:30Speaker 2: fall back on. Now, I was disappointed yesterday in play
- 27:32Speaker 2: calling because we didn't do a lot of the things
- 27:34Speaker 2: I saw us do in camp and saw us do
- 27:36Speaker 2: the past couple of games where we're motions.
- 27:39Speaker 3: And all that stuff.
- 27:40Speaker 2: I mean, more and more of the motions are starting
- 27:42Speaker 2: to leave the offense and that's starting to make me
- 27:46Speaker 2: worry now because I like what they do with that.
- 27:49Speaker 2: It gives us a greater chance of fooling the defense
- 27:54Speaker 2: or making the defense play softer.
- 27:56Speaker 3: That's what they do.
- 27:56Speaker 2: When you do all that window dressing and stuff, that's
- 27:59Speaker 2: why our defense against the Bears played the way they
- 28:01Speaker 2: played because all the window dressing and guys moving around,
- 28:05Speaker 2: it makes you play softer or less explosive because you
- 28:09Speaker 2: don't know what's going on or who's doing what. So
- 28:12Speaker 2: you have to play step up and then go. That's
- 28:15Speaker 2: why you don't get a false step. And that's all
- 28:17Speaker 2: you need is one false step to be out of
- 28:18Speaker 2: the play. So it's a method to their madness. That's
- 28:21Speaker 2: why they do that. We need to get back to
- 28:24Speaker 2: doing the same thing. We need to call more of
- 28:25Speaker 2: those motions, do more of those things, and gain a good.
- 28:29Speaker 3: Identity instead of the identity we have right now. We've
- 28:31Speaker 3: got to do something.
- 28:34Speaker 1: You know, we talk about this newfound offense, and we
- 28:37Speaker 1: were supposed to see a lot more under center snaps.
- 28:40Speaker 1: Against the Rams, Jalen took 72% of his snaps out
- 28:44Speaker 1: of the shotgun.
- 28:46Speaker 3: What happened under center? What happened under center? Hints.
- 28:50Speaker 2: That's why I say we got to get back to
- 28:51Speaker 2: running the offense that we saw in the preseason, the
- 28:54Speaker 2: offense that we saw the first two games, so we
- 28:57Speaker 2: can start doing those type of things because it's hard
- 29:00Speaker 2: for a defense to make and play fast when everybody's
- 29:04Speaker 2: running around and flying around with all these different motions. Now,
- 29:07Speaker 2: it might have been because of Smitty wasn't in the offense.
- 29:10Speaker 2: They like to use Smitty as that guy that dictates
- 29:12Speaker 2: with the motions and things of that nature because he's
- 29:16Speaker 2: such a good player that you have to respect him
- 29:18Speaker 2: being a motion. You get less likely of a reaction
- 29:21Speaker 2: when you have Lemon running those motions because they don't
- 29:25Speaker 2: see him as a threat.
- 29:26Speaker 3: Or if he goes in motion, they throw that damn
- 29:29Speaker 3: screen out there too. I'm going to be mad. I'm
- 29:30Speaker 3: going to be hot. So you can't do that.
- 29:33Speaker 2: But you've got to get more creative in how we're
- 29:37Speaker 2: calling plays and how we're running these plays. And I
- 29:41Speaker 2: heard an offensive lineman say, I heard, was it Lane?
- 29:44Speaker 2: Not Lane, but Jordan say, well, we've got to get
- 29:48Speaker 2: back to running zone.
- 29:49Speaker 3: We are a zone-blocking team now.
- 29:51Speaker 2: We've got to get back to blocking the zone the
- 29:52Speaker 2: way we're supposed to block it. Until we do that,
- 29:55Speaker 2: we're not going to be successful. Okay, let's get back
- 29:58Speaker 2: to it. Let's get back to it. Let's do something.
- 30:01Speaker 2: Let's do something right. Let's do something well. We need
- 30:03Speaker 2: to do something right. Something, please.
- 30:05Speaker 1: You know, we're talking about the quarterback, and I hate
- 30:09Speaker 1: to say it, but your quarterback cannot read defenses. Now,
- 30:14Speaker 1: the multitude of the game, the Rams overloaded the right
- 30:18Speaker 1: side and brought the heat on him all day. He's
- 30:22Speaker 1: played enough games to make line adjustments, to call audibles,
- 30:26Speaker 1: receivers shorten the routes.
- 30:27Speaker 4: Right.
- 30:28Speaker 1: To take some of that heat off of them and
- 30:29Speaker 1: have the Rams defense back off. They were coming from
- 30:33Speaker 1: the same side almost the whole game.
- 30:36Speaker 3: What is going on with Jalen?
- 30:38Speaker 1: Because he has definitely regressed instead of progressed.
- 30:43Speaker 3: Well, yeah, I mean, I just said it, you know.
- 30:46Speaker 3: I mean, it's simple, man. It's simple math.
- 30:50Speaker 2: If I'm sitting there and I'm a quarterback and I
- 30:53Speaker 2: look over to my right side and I see five
- 30:56Speaker 2: guys over there And that's what we were seeing, five
- 30:59Speaker 2: guys over there, and we only got three guys.
- 31:02Speaker 3: To block him?
- 31:03Speaker 4: Mm-hmm.
- 31:04Speaker 2: Why are we not checking to something? But even better
- 31:06Speaker 2: than that, okay, I feel as though I could beat
- 31:09Speaker 2: that blitz. So when the ball is snapped, don't act
- 31:13Speaker 2: like it's a big surprise that you got somebody.
- 31:15Speaker 3: In your face. It looked like he was surprised.
- 31:18Speaker 2: Why are you looking surprised? You see all the people
- 31:20Speaker 2: over there. You see all the people, and then he's
- 31:21Speaker 2: trying to roll towards the people.
- 31:24Speaker 3: Don't do that. Why are you rolling towards all the
- 31:26Speaker 3: people over there? You got to roll away from them
- 31:29Speaker 3: or run away from them.
- 31:31Speaker 2: I don't understand or comprehend why that is so hard.
- 31:36Speaker 3: Why is it so hard?
- 31:39Speaker 2: It's not hard. You know them guys are sitting there.
- 31:42Speaker 2: If you see that they're blitzing like this, and they've
- 31:45Speaker 2: been lighting you up all day, and you see them
- 31:48Speaker 2: over there again, you got to do something like, hey,
- 31:53Speaker 2: I'll be out and out like this.
- 31:54Speaker 3: Hey, Lemon. Lemon. Turn around and look straight at me.
- 31:58Speaker 3: I'm going to throw you the ball. You see all
- 31:59Speaker 3: these guys over here?
- 32:00Speaker 2: I'm going to throw you the ball.
- 32:03Speaker 3: It's simple as that.
- 32:04Speaker 2: But you can't continue to be surprised that all those
- 32:08Speaker 2: guys over there, we don't have enough to block them.
- 32:13Speaker 2: That's absolutely nuts to me. I don't understand that, man.
- 32:16Speaker 2: And they beat us with the same stuff. See, I
- 32:18Speaker 2: almost cussed.
- 32:19Speaker 3: And they beat them with the same stuff against the Bears. Yes.
- 32:23Speaker 3: The same stuff against the Bears. Yes. Yes.
- 32:25Speaker 2: And until he stops it, until he makes them pay
- 32:28Speaker 2: for it, it's going to be a problem.
- 32:30Speaker 3: I would be like this. I'd be like, you know what?
- 32:32Speaker 3: I got something for him this time. I got something
- 32:34Speaker 3: for him.
- 32:34Speaker 2: Bring him like you did. Okay, you're going to bring
- 32:35Speaker 2: him from the left side. I see five guys over there. Okay,
- 32:38Speaker 2: I'm glad you got five guys over there. As soon
- 32:41Speaker 2: as I snap the ball, I'm going to take two
- 32:43Speaker 2: steps back and just launch it up in the air,
- 32:45Speaker 2: and I'm going to tell my receiver, I don't care
- 32:49Speaker 2: who it is, give me a stutter, go. Stutter, and
- 32:53Speaker 2: go up the field. That'll be six, man. Because everybody
- 32:56Speaker 2: knows he can't, well, he hasn't picked up the blitz yet.
- 33:02Speaker 2: It'd be right over their head. And that'll stop them
- 33:05Speaker 2: from doing that. You make them pay for doing that,
- 33:07Speaker 2: they'll stop doing it. But until they stop it, they're
- 33:10Speaker 2: going to keep doing it. And I was lying, they
- 33:12Speaker 2: ain't helping either. Because they got to, I mean, if
- 33:13Speaker 2: you see that over there, and we got a young
- 33:15Speaker 2: guy playing center right now. He's got to be like, hey,
- 33:18Speaker 2: you know what? I know right now we got a
- 33:21Speaker 2: Luke call. We got a Luke call. We can't go
- 33:23Speaker 2: with this Luke call. We got everybody. Ram, Ram. Ram, Ram, Ram. Hey, Cam,
- 33:29Speaker 2: you come block him over me. We got to slide
- 33:32Speaker 2: the line all the way over there.
- 33:34Speaker 3: Just slide him all the way over there. Just slide him.
- 33:36Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying? He can help too.
- 33:38Speaker 2: And that's why Jason Kelsey was so good, that we
- 33:40Speaker 2: didn't have to worry about that because Kelsey would be like,
- 33:43Speaker 2: all right, I got your number. I'm tired of my
- 33:45Speaker 2: quarterback getting hit. I'm going to call a Ram call.
- 33:48Speaker 2: So I'm going to call the front side guard. I'm
- 33:50Speaker 2: going to say Ram.
- 33:52Speaker 3: That means Ram. My left guard's got to go right.
- 33:55Speaker 2: He's going to get the guy, and you got the guy,
- 33:57Speaker 2: until we get all the way out there and pick
- 33:59Speaker 2: up everybody, or at least slow them down.
- 34:02Speaker 3: Leave the end man if it takes, you know what
- 34:04Speaker 3: I'm saying? The most dangerous man.
- 34:06Speaker 2: But there has to be a way of playing chess
- 34:11Speaker 2: that you can, you know what I'm saying? You can
- 34:14Speaker 2: get all the way to the end of the board,
- 34:15Speaker 2: and they can crown you. Until we get crowned on
- 34:18Speaker 2: the other side, we will continue to get blitzed, and
- 34:20Speaker 2: they will continue to get to Jalen.
- 34:24Speaker 3: And we don't have anything right now that can help us.
- 34:28Speaker 5: Hey, have you ever had an issue with like your
- 34:31Speaker 5: hot water heater bursting?
- 34:32Speaker 3: I've had that.
- 34:33Speaker 5: Happen at least three times in my basement, causing flooding,
- 34:38Speaker 5: causing me to miss work, causing me to deal with
- 34:40Speaker 5: people in my house trying to tell me how much
- 34:42Speaker 5: I'm going to have to pay.
- 34:43Speaker 3: Then I have to replace the appliance.
- 34:45Speaker 5: Then I got to do research on what the best
- 34:47Speaker 5: appliance is to replace with. It is madness and can
- 34:51Speaker 5: be very, very frustrating. But Housecall Pro helps home service

- 36:57Speaker 1: Up all right let's get to your genius head coach
- 37:01Speaker 1: Fourth and one and a half. Not fourth and one.
- 37:04Speaker 1: Fourth and one and a half. He decides to go
- 37:07Speaker 1: for a tush push, okay? Again, let me emphasize, with
- 37:11Speaker 1: a patch-up offensive lineman. He didn't have Landon Dickerson in there.
- 37:15Speaker 1: He didn't have Lane Johnson in there. With a patch-up
- 37:17Speaker 1: offensive line, he decides to go for it at that
- 37:20Speaker 1: point at his own 38-yard line.
- 37:23Speaker 4: His own 38, right? I think Nick Sirianni's lost his mojo.
- 37:30Speaker 3: To be honest.
- 37:31Speaker 1: I'm about to start a petition to see if I
- 37:33Speaker 1: can get him suspended for at least two games and
- 37:36Speaker 1: let somebody else coach this team because I don't know
- 37:39Speaker 1: what the heck Nick is doing out there now.
- 37:41Speaker 3: I really don't. I don't think that.
- 37:45Speaker 2: We practice it like we used to practice it back then,
- 37:47Speaker 2: like in 2024. I think that's the real issue. You
- 37:51Speaker 2: got to practice that play to be greater at that play.
- 37:54Speaker 2: And we all know that Jurgens hated that play. Jurgens
- 38:00Speaker 2: didn't like that play. And even at the guard position,
- 38:02Speaker 2: he's not good at that play. I don't know when– well,
- 38:07Speaker 2: I mean.
- 38:07Speaker 3: I do now.
- 38:07Speaker 2: I mean, I saw, you know, that we didn't run
- 38:12Speaker 2: it well anywhere. You know, so, I mean, we just
- 38:16Speaker 2: got blew up. You know, they just kicked our ass
- 38:19Speaker 2: on that play. I don't know how I'll say it.
- 38:21Speaker 3: You know, we even put in– we– no, I don't know.
- 38:26Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 38:26Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 38:29Speaker 3: I know Nick isn't out there. He doesn't have pads on.
- 38:35Speaker 2: But we can at least get a yard and a
- 38:37Speaker 2: half on that if the guys up front do what
- 38:40Speaker 2: they're supposed to do, man. But, you know, he's seen
- 38:44Speaker 2: them in practice, so he should know that they can't
- 38:46Speaker 2: run it because we haven't been running it this year, period.
- 38:50Speaker 2: It hasn't been successful.
- 38:51Speaker 1: I love how you go out of your way not
- 38:54Speaker 1: to single out any individual players.
- 38:56Speaker 3: I'm not bashing people, man. I'm not bashing.
- 38:59Speaker 2: I don't want to bash people because I know what
- 39:01Speaker 2: it is to be bashed like that. When I got bashed,
- 39:04Speaker 2: I deserved it. And these guys these days are sensitive.
- 39:10Speaker 2: They don't want to talk to me anymore. They don't
- 39:12Speaker 2: want to put their ball up and go play somewhere else.
- 39:14Speaker 2: They don't want to talk to me no more. So
- 39:16Speaker 2: I tried to bash them. But I'm going to tell
- 39:18Speaker 2: the truth, though. I'm going to tell the truth. If
- 39:20Speaker 2: you get your ass kicked, I'm going to tell what
- 39:22Speaker 2: you did.
- 39:23Speaker 3: I'm going to do that.
- 39:24Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying? Because everybody told on me.
- 39:26Speaker 2: I'm telling on you. I'm going to tell what happened
- 39:28Speaker 2: on the play.
- 39:29Speaker 3: I'll explain what happened.
- 39:30Speaker 2: Happened on the play and why you got your butt kicked.
- 39:32Speaker 2: But don't get mad at me because I'm telling you.
- 39:34Speaker 2: We can sit down and watch film. I tell guys,
- 39:35Speaker 2: we can sit down and watch film. And we can
- 39:38Speaker 2: go play for play. And I'll tell you what I
- 39:40Speaker 2: was expecting and what, you know, what you said should
- 39:44Speaker 2: have happened.
- 39:45Speaker 3: And, you know, we'll compare notes. You know what I mean?
- 39:48Speaker 2: I could be totally wrong with it. You can show
- 39:50Speaker 2: me where I'm totally wrong, and I'll concede. I'll say that,
- 39:53Speaker 2: and I'll go back on my show, you know what
- 39:55Speaker 2: I'm saying, first hold on to everybody. Look, I went
- 39:57Speaker 2: and sat and watched film, and that's exactly what happened,
- 40:00Speaker 2: and it was my fault.
- 40:01Speaker 3: I didn't know what the hell I was talking about,
- 40:03Speaker 3: and I will do that. I will do that.
- 40:06Speaker 2: But I know because I played the game, and I
- 40:08Speaker 2: know what should be done in those type of situations.
- 40:11Speaker 2: I don't know the call, but the way I see
- 40:13Speaker 2: them blocking it, I can kind of get the call
- 40:16Speaker 2: in my head. All right, this is what they were
- 40:17Speaker 2: trying to do. But, you know, I could be wrong.
- 40:22Speaker 2: But what I'm not getting wrong is a guy getting
- 40:25Speaker 2: his ass kicked. I know I'm not getting that wrong.
- 40:28Speaker 3: I see it. I see it.
- 40:30Speaker 2: I see you getting, you know, pressed back into the pocket.
- 40:34Speaker 2: I see you getting beat on the outside. You know,
- 40:36Speaker 2: I see that.
- 40:37Speaker 3: You know, so.
- 40:39Speaker 2: But, I mean, we have some great things, too. Like
- 40:40Speaker 2: I said, we're not being in there. Getting up the field.
- 40:44Speaker 2: Causing that interception, Makuta, he made it happen. You know, Makuta,
- 40:50Speaker 2: he balled in this game.
- 40:51Speaker 3: You know what I mean?
- 40:52Speaker 2: So, you know, we got to take our hats off
- 40:54Speaker 2: to him. Koop balled in the game also. Also, Darius
- 40:58Speaker 2: Cooper balled out.
- 40:59Speaker 1: Yeah, Darius Cooper, what an incredible catch he got for
- 41:02Speaker 1: a touchdown. Unbelievable catch.
- 41:05Speaker 2: He takes advantage of every opportunity they allow him to get.
- 41:09Speaker 2: And I can't be mad at that. He going to
- 41:12Speaker 2: keep balling like that. He going to keep doing that
- 41:13Speaker 2: because he understands that the NFL stands for not for long.
- 41:18Speaker 2: And you want me to play special teams? I'll play
- 41:20Speaker 2: special teams. You want me to come in just to block?
- 41:22Speaker 2: I'll be blocking SOB. You want me to come in
- 41:25Speaker 2: and catch a touchdown?
- 41:25Speaker 3: Hey, I got you. In fact, you want two? I'll
- 41:27Speaker 3: give you two.
- 41:29Speaker 2: Whatever it takes to keep me on the field, keep
- 41:31Speaker 2: me walking in on Monday and give me my check,
- 41:35Speaker 2: I'm going to keep doing it.
- 41:36Speaker 3: So kudos to him.
- 41:39Speaker 1: Of all the players that went down in this game,
- 41:41Speaker 1: I thought the complexion of the game for the defense
- 41:43Speaker 1: changed when Quinion Mitchell went down because he was blanketing
- 41:49Speaker 1: Devontae Adams. I mean, you think about this just a
- 41:53Speaker 1: week ago against Denver. Devontae Adams abused Patrick Sertain, who
- 41:58Speaker 1: was arguably the best cover corner in the NFL. He
- 42:01Speaker 1: had 107 catches for 137 yards. You know, he was
- 42:04Speaker 1: basically a non-factor in this game. You know, I know
- 42:07Speaker 1: there was... He was balling, and I know there were
- 42:09Speaker 1: a couple of overthrows from Stafford because Devontae should have
- 42:13Speaker 1: had a touchdown that he dropped, and then there was
- 42:16Speaker 1: the one down the sideline that was a little bit overthrown.
- 42:18Speaker 1: But for the most part, Quinion was in his uniform
- 42:22Speaker 1: the time he was in the game. But outside of
- 42:25Speaker 1: Quinion leaving the game, what did you see happen in
- 42:28Speaker 1: terms of the breakdowns in the Rams' last two drives?
- 42:31Speaker 1: By the way, the last two drives combined, with 19
- 42:36Speaker 1: plays for 177 yards, two touchdowns in less than five minutes.
- 42:40Speaker 1: The Rams got more offensive yards in their last two
- 42:43Speaker 1: drives than the Eagles had the entire football game.
- 42:46Speaker 3: Okay, enough of that.
- 42:46Speaker 1: But what happened on those last two drives that led
- 42:49Speaker 1: to the Rams taking the lead?
- 42:50Speaker 3: They did like this. They went on silent. They went,
- 42:53Speaker 3: you know, how you doing? You out in the yard?
- 42:55Speaker 3: You playing with your boys? Hey, oh. Oh, Quinn, Q
- 43:00Speaker 3: ain't in there. Oh, okay, who got him? Oh, we
- 43:04Speaker 3: got him now, guys. We got him now.
- 43:06Speaker 2: They went straight to him then. Straight to him. And
- 43:09Speaker 2: then when they went over there, he said, all right,
- 43:11Speaker 2: you know what?
- 43:12Speaker 3: Hookah is out there demoing on the other corner.
- 43:17Speaker 2: I'm like, you played against him twice a year for
- 43:21Speaker 2: four years.
- 43:23Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying? What's his name? Reek Wallen.
- 43:28Speaker 3: I mean, that was a battle, man. That was a battle.
- 43:32Speaker 3: They were going at it, man.
- 43:33Speaker 2: But he played a little too physical with them. And
- 43:35Speaker 2: they both were playing physical. And they would start calling,
- 43:37Speaker 2: you know what I'm saying, on him. You know what
- 43:38Speaker 2: I mean?
- 43:38Speaker 3: I thought that was wrong. If you're going to call it,
- 43:40Speaker 3: call it straight.
- 43:41Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying? Call times when he's pushing off.
- 43:42Speaker 3: And everything else. But him and Reek Woolen were going
- 43:45Speaker 3: at it.
- 43:45Speaker 2: And every time he turned around in a crucial play,
- 43:48Speaker 2: they'll call and throw the flag on him, man.
- 43:50Speaker 3: You know what I mean?
- 43:51Speaker 2: But, you know, they got the opportunity. And Reek, for
- 43:55Speaker 2: the most part, Reek was balling. Then all of a sudden,
- 43:58Speaker 2: Puka Nakua just took over. He just took over.
- 44:01Speaker 3: I'm back.
- 44:01Speaker 2: I'm back now. And he showed that he was back.
- 44:04Speaker 2: So he balled out. So they took advantage. Oh, I
- 44:06Speaker 2: got Jones over here?
- 44:07Speaker 3: Oh, go to me. I got Jones. I got Jones.
- 44:12Speaker 2: So, I mean, that's smart football. Your best corner goes out.
- 44:16Speaker 2: I'm going to attack where the best corner used to be.
- 44:20Speaker 2: Did a great job on it.
- 44:22Speaker 1: This team is in dire straits right now. They got
- 44:26Speaker 1: to send out an SOS real quick because the Jacksonville Jaguars,
- 44:30Speaker 1: are a good football team with a good defense. And
- 44:33Speaker 1: if the Eagles don't get it together, and of course
- 44:35Speaker 1: we're still waiting to find out who's in and who's
- 44:38Speaker 1: out for the birds because we're looking at 10 potential players.
- 44:41Speaker 1: Now we know that Tank Bigsby is basically done until
- 44:45Speaker 1: further notice, possibly done for the year. But of those
- 44:48Speaker 1: other players, we just sit, wait, and cross our fingers
- 44:52Speaker 1: that the Calvary is coming to help this team out.
- 44:55Speaker 1: If not, it's going to be another long day come
- 44:58Speaker 1: Sunday in London.
- 44:59Speaker 3: And it starts early, too. It starts early. Yeah.
- 45:03Speaker 4: Well, at least we'll get home to see some afternoon football.
- 45:06Speaker 3: Right.
- 45:07Speaker 1: For my man, Barrett Brooks, I'm Derrick Gunn. This has
- 45:10Speaker 1: been Birds Weekly presented by the inside of the Birds Network.
- 45:13Speaker 1: Keep your fingers crossed. Until next week, so long, everybody.
