- 2:04Speaker 6: Bro, ladies and gentlemen, Welcome to another episode of Busting
- 2:09Speaker 6: with the Boys. Fire episode. Today, Dan Letting the boys
- 2:11Speaker 6: traveled out to Oregon.
- 2:12Speaker 3: Spoke with him.
- 2:14Speaker 6: Well spoken, man, the stage president of an Absolute God.
- 2:16Speaker 6: This is episode three twenty four and we are sponsored
- 2:19Speaker 6: by Bust What the Boys is presented by Fandel's Sportsbook.
- 2:23Speaker 6: Vandel is America's number one sportsbook. Listen, we're getting closer
- 2:27Speaker 6: and closer football season, but right now the NHL playoffs
- 2:29Speaker 6: and the NBA playoff time, So we're locked in in
- 2:32Speaker 6: this podcast. We're gonna break down all of UFC three fourteen. Obviously,
- 2:36Speaker 6: we had Patty Pimlet do what he did to our
- 2:38Speaker 6: boy Mike Channel there. We love him to death. We're
- 2:39Speaker 6: always gonna love Mike. But what happens happens. You can't
- 2:42Speaker 6: hide from the film. Uh, John Silva, we'll break all
- 2:46Speaker 6: that down too. Vulk Lopez, what a fight, Vulk showing
- 2:49Speaker 6: that age is just a number. Dude, that ain't nothing
- 2:51Speaker 6: to him. But we have the NBA Playing Tournament. Will
- 2:55Speaker 6: comptent break down the tournament for it all Right, So
- 2:57Speaker 6: the NBA Playing Tournament, how does it work? You might
- 2:59Speaker 6: be thinking Game one is the seventh seed versus the
- 3:01Speaker 6: eight seed. The winner becomes the seventh seed and advances
- 3:04Speaker 6: to the playoffs. The loser gets another chance because game
- 3:08Speaker 6: two there will be a face off between the ninth
- 3:10Speaker 6: seed and the ten seed. The loser is eliminated. The
- 3:13Speaker 6: winner moves on to plan a game three versus the
- 3:16Speaker 6: loser the number eight of game one. The winner becomes
- 3:19Speaker 6: the eight seed in the playoffs, and the loser is eliminated.
- 3:22Speaker 6: Why does that matter? Because there is big news. There's
- 3:25Speaker 6: gonna be a FanDuel tokens and boosts all week long.
- 3:28Speaker 6: You can score even a bigger win because FanDuel's giving
- 3:30Speaker 6: you a fifty percent profit boost for each night of
- 3:34Speaker 6: the play in tournament. Fifty on Tuesday, fifty percent boost
- 3:37Speaker 6: on Wednesday, and a fifty percent boost on Friday. Sign

- 3:43Speaker 6: boost and remember to make every moment more With FanDuel,
- 3:46Speaker 6: the official sports betting partner of the NBA and the Boys,
- 3:50Speaker 6: Yours truly bustle with the boys.
- 3:51Speaker 3: Did you see our new outfits? I did.
- 3:53Speaker 6: I saw the little sleep covers are very nice. There
- 3:55Speaker 6: are boys are making it up in the world. Shout
- 3:57Speaker 6: out the boys getting this whole done for us.
- 3:58Speaker 7: Actually, shout out Evan Kobe.
- 4:03Speaker 6: Evan.
- 4:04Speaker 1: He keeps popping up, keeps on popping up, He keeps them.
- 4:08Speaker 1: You see him do a podcast. I saw the clip.
- 4:10Speaker 1: I saw the clip.
- 4:11Speaker 6: I actually comments on the clip like this, I will confirm,
- 4:14Speaker 6: can't confirm. He's trying to get a job.
- 4:16Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah.
- 4:16Speaker 6: I think at some point we just got to hire him.
- 4:19Speaker 3: And maybe.
- 4:21Speaker 7: Watching this so juice, he's like, oh my god, I'm
- 4:25Speaker 7: about to get a job with the Boys.
- 4:26Speaker 3: Here's ken.
- 4:29Speaker 1: You if you just take the camera and scan around
- 4:31Speaker 1: the bus. What works against him is we need some
- 4:35Speaker 1: variety on this buss.
- 4:36Speaker 6: Yeah, we need a little diversity.
- 4:38Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 4:40Speaker 6: And here's the thing too, and this is this is
- 4:42Speaker 6: a safe space where I can say how I feel.
- 4:43Speaker 3: Right of course, safe space.
- 4:46Speaker 6: I love Evan Coob's enthusiasm. I worry about Evan Kobe's
- 4:50Speaker 6: fandom a little bit if you were if he were
- 4:53Speaker 6: to come into this office, Like I just worry that
- 4:57Speaker 6: he's like he's like a true tier one, Like he's
- 4:59Speaker 6: so about the bull that it's like, is that going
- 5:02Speaker 6: to get in the way of the work. But you
- 5:03Speaker 6: want people who come in and world who want to
- 5:05Speaker 6: die for the brand about the Boys. I didn't know
- 5:08Speaker 6: the background, the history, everything about it to where they
- 5:11Speaker 6: know what they're looking for when creating for I love
- 5:14Speaker 6: that and I don't disagree with at all. I will
- 5:16Speaker 6: say it's a fine line though, because you can have
- 5:18Speaker 6: someone's willing to die for the brand, and then there's
- 5:20Speaker 6: somebody who has, you know, a weird dream where they
- 5:22Speaker 6: think God told them to kill will confident Taylor Lawan,
- 5:25Speaker 6: and all of a sudden, they come in the office
- 5:26Speaker 6: with a sat up shotgun. They pumped too into us.
- 5:28Speaker 6: So there's always that little back and forth. Right now
- 5:31Speaker 6: for the NBA Tournament, playing six thirty Hawks versus Magic
- 5:37Speaker 6: that is tomorrow ninety yeah, versus the Warriors. Wednesday, We're
- 5:42Speaker 6: gonna have the Heat versus the Bulls at six thirty
- 5:44Speaker 6: and at nine do we have the MAVs ors of
- 5:46Speaker 6: the Kings. Now, I'm not going to sit here and
- 5:47Speaker 6: pretend like I know basketball, because I really do not
- 5:50Speaker 6: know basketball. J Redick, I'm not JJ Redick. I will say, however,
- 5:54Speaker 6: give me the Kings over the MAVs. I'll say, give
- 5:57Speaker 6: me the Kings over the mass I don't know if
- 5:58Speaker 6: it was a Jason Kidd. Is he the head coach.
- 6:01Speaker 6: He's the head coach, and he came out saying, oh yeah,
- 6:04Speaker 6: people are talking about the trade. They're they're comparing it
- 6:07Speaker 6: to the Great Bambino, saying like it's so that's pretty cool, buddy.
- 6:12Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 6:12Speaker 6: Yeah, widely considered the worst trade in sports history.
- 6:16Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 6:16Speaker 6: So just for that reason and that clip alone, I
- 6:20Speaker 6: will be going kings in that game.
- 6:21Speaker 3: Smart, all right, make sure you put that boost token
- 6:24Speaker 3: because it's right.
- 6:26Speaker 6: I'll be going kings because when we make quotes about that,
- 6:30Speaker 6: that is just insane to me.
- 6:31Speaker 1: Yeah, that is insane to me. With you on the basketball,
- 6:34Speaker 1: do you want to.
- 6:35Speaker 6: We want to rip the band aid off of UFC
- 6:36Speaker 6: three fourteen.
- 6:37Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean you can't nothing you can hide from god. Uh.
- 6:42Speaker 1: He got dominated that fight. Patty Pimblet looked incredible. He
- 6:47Speaker 1: looked poised for the moment. He looks like he's he's
- 6:49Speaker 1: in a great time situation for how that weight class
- 6:52Speaker 1: looks a little aged.
- 6:53Speaker 3: But he did.
- 6:53Speaker 1: It's like, if you look at all of Mike's fights
- 6:55Speaker 1: against all these top dranked opponents, Patty Pimblet has looked
- 6:58Speaker 1: the best again. It's Michael Chandler.
- 7:00Speaker 3: Yeah, it was.
- 7:02Speaker 1: It was tough, man. It was tough to watch because
- 7:04Speaker 1: that's like, that's our boy. Yeah, it's our guys, Like
- 7:06Speaker 1: Missouri boys us, and you're just you're nervous for him
- 7:09Speaker 1: for the fight. You see Brie, his wife, and his
- 7:12Speaker 1: son Hat walking in the arena with him, like you're
- 7:14Speaker 1: fired up, but your juices are flowing. It like reminds
- 7:16Speaker 1: me of when I was watching Cody back with all
- 7:18Speaker 1: of his big wrestling matches. You're like, you're just nervous.
- 7:21Speaker 1: You're like moving with the screen.
- 7:22Speaker 6: You want to be in there with him. And there's
- 7:24Speaker 6: a level of guilt that I have too, because oh,
- 7:26Speaker 6: we're offically in the middle of spring shoo right now.
- 7:27Speaker 6: We just went to Oregon, We're going to Michigan tomorrow,
- 7:30Speaker 6: and like we had the small little time with the family,
- 7:32Speaker 6: but even on Saturday morning till like we should be
- 7:35Speaker 6: in Miami right now to be supporting the Chandlers, And
- 7:38Speaker 6: so you just don't want your boy to ever go
- 7:40Speaker 6: to war alone. And I just watching him walk out
- 7:43Speaker 6: like Patty Pittman when he walked out a tunnel, to
- 7:45Speaker 6: look loose, look ready to go, like he was just
- 7:47Speaker 6: having a good time being like his charismatic self that
- 7:51Speaker 6: people love him for and also hate him for. But
- 7:53Speaker 6: then as soon as he gets in the octagon, it's
- 7:55Speaker 6: like he's doing the ox prayer stare down.
- 7:56Speaker 3: He is.
- 7:57Speaker 6: He seems so locked into the moment when he has
- 8:00Speaker 6: had that big gap between fights, and it just yeah,
- 8:04Speaker 6: he just seemed like he was more prepared, seemed like
- 8:06Speaker 6: he had a better game plan, and he seemed like
- 8:07Speaker 6: he executed that game plan just a little bit better.
- 8:09Speaker 6: It sucks saying about your boy, but you gotta look
- 8:12Speaker 6: at the film and realize and Mike would be sitting
- 8:14Speaker 6: here right now saying the same thing. You know, Mike
- 8:17Speaker 6: doesn't shy away from the truth ever, and that just
- 8:19Speaker 6: it's unfortunate, but it is also the reality we're living
- 8:23Speaker 6: in right now. So you wonder, You just wonder, like,
- 8:24Speaker 6: what's what's next for Mike.
- 8:27Speaker 8: The most heartbreaking part of the fight was when Mike,
- 8:30Speaker 8: I don't know which round it was, but he goes
- 8:32Speaker 8: back to his corner. They're like, Mike, you gotta start
- 8:34Speaker 8: going side to side, get out of the way right
- 8:36Speaker 8: and he's like, I can't. I can't find the distance.
- 8:40Speaker 8: I can't get close. And so then it goes over
- 8:43Speaker 8: to Patty's corner and Patty's coaches say, hey, he's going slow.
- 8:48Speaker 8: He's going slow, and you just hear Patty go, Yeah,
- 8:49Speaker 8: he's a bit old, isn't he. And then and then
- 8:51Speaker 8: it cuts away. I was like, oh my gosh, I
- 8:54Speaker 8: didn't even hear that.
- 8:55Speaker 1: Yeah, he looks good man, Like I've enjoyed watching Patty,
- 8:59Speaker 1: like when he came into the UFC, like all of
- 9:01Speaker 1: his fights. He's somebody that's like a superstar in the
- 9:04Speaker 1: media too, because he has that incredible accent. But I've
- 9:07Speaker 1: always enjoyed following him. But he was on that night, Bro,
- 9:11Speaker 1: he was in flows. I would have loved to see
- 9:12Speaker 1: him against anybody in the division that night, Yeah, just
- 9:15Speaker 1: because it feels like he was prime for that stage
- 9:18Speaker 1: and you're gonna get to see if his skill settle
- 9:19Speaker 1: carry over, because you would assume he's gonna get a
- 9:21Speaker 1: big opportunity in his next fight.
- 9:23Speaker 6: Yeah, I just yeah, I didn't hear that sound. By Like,
- 9:26Speaker 6: when I'm watching this fight, I'm in that room, a
- 9:29Speaker 6: big couch, I'm kind of like I'm walking around. I'm
- 9:31Speaker 6: like I'm like looking, I'm trying to like move with him.
- 9:34Speaker 6: I'm like so invested in it until I'm just sitting
- 9:36Speaker 6: on the couch like chilled on our phone.
- 9:38Speaker 8: I'm just like it's tough man, I wonder too. And
- 9:42Speaker 8: this is just full speculation on my end because seeing
- 9:44Speaker 8: Mike's knee in the fight in December and then to
- 9:48Speaker 8: fight in April, it all seems so fast to me
- 9:51Speaker 8: for somebody his age that I mean, I don't I
- 9:54Speaker 8: would never make excuse He would never make an excuse me.
- 9:57Speaker 8: But I am curious about like his body and if
- 10:00Speaker 8: he was one hundred percent just or he just really
- 10:02Speaker 8: couldn't find the distance, because we didn't see any of
- 10:04Speaker 8: the explosiveness that you usually see in the mic fights.
- 10:08Speaker 6: Right, because when he's in the like the pre fight
- 10:11Speaker 6: press conferences and he's like, I'm gonna find that chin,
- 10:13Speaker 6: I'm gonna find it fast. I'm thinking to myself like, okay,
- 10:15Speaker 6: this is gonna be different than Olive Air fight. Yeah,
- 10:17Speaker 6: And he kind of came out similar to the OLIVERI
- 10:20Speaker 6: fight where he's like playing them more in a defensive stance, right,
- 10:23Speaker 6: and you know, he gets a couple of good takedowns.
- 10:25Speaker 6: He does the whole body throws him to the ground.
- 10:26Speaker 6: It's like, all right, and I know that boy can
- 10:28Speaker 6: wrestle too. It just didn't it just didn't seem like
- 10:31Speaker 6: he would find a flow in that fight, and obviously
- 10:33Speaker 6: we're not fighters, we don't necessarily know the ins and outs,
- 10:35Speaker 6: but he just seemed uncomfortable. Yeah, in the octagon.
- 10:39Speaker 8: Lasting for me on Mike, where he does need his
- 10:41Speaker 8: credit in the way that he's able to defend on
- 10:45Speaker 8: the ground is so insane to me. Like I cannot
- 10:48Speaker 8: believe Patty didn't tap.
- 10:49Speaker 1: Him out in the last Oliver too in bad situations
- 10:53Speaker 1: and he just gets.
- 10:54Speaker 8: Out on every single time. Oh, Mike's giving up his
- 10:56Speaker 8: back and it's like he's the only fighter that can
- 10:59Speaker 8: just roll over. Everybody else is gonna get tapped out,
- 11:02Speaker 8: but he can roll over, give up his back, and
- 11:03Speaker 8: he knows he's gonna be fine, which is is so silly.
- 11:08Speaker 1: My question too, because again I like I have no clue,
- 11:11Speaker 1: Like I know some surface level stuff, but when he's
- 11:13Speaker 1: mounted and gives up his back, it's like, what else
- 11:16Speaker 1: can you do in that situation because the dude was
- 11:18Speaker 1: throwing starting to throw bombs on him. Yeah, and You're thing,
- 11:23Speaker 1: it's like the only thing you can do is just
- 11:24Speaker 1: roll to the other side, unless you can get some
- 11:26Speaker 1: rolls that kind of bounces him off.
- 11:28Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 11:29Speaker 6: Man, it's just it's just tough.
- 11:32Speaker 3: It was hard man. And it sucks too because the octagon, it's.
- 11:35Speaker 1: Like it's one on one and when that's happening, and
- 11:39Speaker 1: obviously you got all the external noise everybody commenting on
- 11:42Speaker 1: the fight and everything else. But when you lose in
- 11:44Speaker 1: the octagon, bro, it has to be such like a
- 11:48Speaker 1: lonely feeling, whatever your conversation is with yourself, you know
- 11:52Speaker 1: what I mean, Because it's like I'll shoot him a text, brother,
- 11:54Speaker 1: I'll love you and keep your fucking head up. You
- 11:55Speaker 1: kind of don't know, kind of don't know what they're saying.
- 11:57Speaker 1: You know, everybody's going to be texting him, but it's you,
- 12:00Speaker 1: you know, as a competitor, like when you just had
- 12:02Speaker 1: a bad showing, Like you don't care to hear about
- 12:04Speaker 1: any of the noise anything else.
- 12:05Speaker 3: You're so disappointed in how it unfolded.
- 12:08Speaker 6: Yeah yeah, and you're you're your own harshest critic too. Yeah,
- 12:12Speaker 6: Like you walk in and immediately I mean, I don't
- 12:15Speaker 6: know what his mental state was after right after the fight.
- 12:17Speaker 6: He got beat up pretty good, but like you're literally
- 12:19Speaker 6: replaying the fight over and over and over in your head,
- 12:21Speaker 6: like I could have done this different and that different,
- 12:23Speaker 6: and everyone's gonna have like, you know, the big broad
- 12:25Speaker 6: statements of you lost and you lost in this way,
- 12:27Speaker 6: but he's probably looking at every single detail, being like,
- 12:30Speaker 6: I know exactly where I went wrong. It's so easy
- 12:32Speaker 6: to fix those problems after in fact, Yeah, and it's
- 12:34Speaker 6: just just tough man, don't.
- 12:38Speaker 3: Write them off, Chill Stough.
- 12:41Speaker 6: After all the the fights everything, Chill Sutton, you know,
- 12:44Speaker 6: there was a lot of back and forth of like
- 12:46Speaker 6: that is was that last time we see Michael Chandler.
- 12:48Speaker 6: Obviously Mike's the one that made that decision, but Chill
- 12:50Speaker 6: Sen's like they rushed him out of the octagon pretty fast.
- 12:52Speaker 6: I'm thinking it was a medical thing. But Jill's like,
- 12:55Speaker 6: if this is the last time we see Michael Chandler,
- 12:56Speaker 6: you would have hoped, you know, to give him the
- 12:58Speaker 6: credit he deserves I have. I have no idea if
- 13:01Speaker 6: that's that's his last fight.
- 13:04Speaker 8: Shot a shot, that's his last fight.
- 13:06Speaker 1: Right from the business aspect, where would he go from here?
- 13:11Speaker 6: I don't know that that's something that's Hunter tell Us
- 13:17Speaker 6: was like top five guys to where he's kind of
- 13:19Speaker 6: always set up or positioned well, like if he comes
- 13:22Speaker 6: out on top, he'll have like a better shot at
- 13:24Speaker 6: potentially going after the belt, but now that he's dropped
- 13:27Speaker 6: a few, and especially in the fashion that he did
- 13:29Speaker 6: against Patty, it's almost like where would he go that,
- 13:32Speaker 6: even at his age too, would even be worth it
- 13:34Speaker 6: for him?
- 13:35Speaker 9: You know what I mean? How do you, like, for
- 13:39Speaker 9: Dana or Hunter, like sell him in a fight where
- 13:42Speaker 9: it's like yeah, but he keeps losing?
- 13:43Speaker 1: Like right, Like even for Mike too, it's like, you know,
- 13:47Speaker 1: being realistic about where the category might be to where
- 13:49Speaker 1: you fight next at his age and what he's already accomplished,
- 13:53Speaker 1: like what is even worth going back in?
- 13:56Speaker 9: Someone asked Dana and he was like, you know, like
- 13:59Speaker 9: no matter what what fight it is, who he's fighting, like,
- 14:01Speaker 9: he's gonna show out. Yeah, So like Danas obviously believes
- 14:05Speaker 9: in him, So like there is that good thing that
- 14:08Speaker 9: Mike's a showman and always puts on.
- 14:11Speaker 1: Right, but having him on the bus, knowing what he
- 14:14Speaker 1: puts into it and known the sacrifice now that his family,
- 14:16Speaker 1: his family's bigger than everything else, He's gonna put on
- 14:19Speaker 1: a show. But to put on that show, you have
- 14:20Speaker 1: to go in this space mentally for eight to twelve
- 14:22Speaker 1: weeks that he always does it's like even as Mike
- 14:25Speaker 1: sitting there again, I'm sure he'll be on the bus
- 14:27Speaker 1: at some point, but what even at that point, what
- 14:30Speaker 1: becomes worth it to put on that type of show
- 14:32Speaker 1: if you're not going to be getting a shot. That's
- 14:34Speaker 1: kind of close in that realm, because now he's gone
- 14:36Speaker 1: through enough fights to where I don't know where he'll
- 14:38Speaker 1: be ranked, but would he even get a shot against
- 14:40Speaker 1: an opponent that he feels like so worthy opponents?
- 14:42Speaker 6: And just from like from Dana's statement of being like, hey,
- 14:45Speaker 6: every fight we put him in, it's an absolute show.
- 14:48Speaker 6: Like this fight. We looked at this this was not
- 14:51Speaker 6: a performance of like Mike Chinner. We were like, holy,
- 14:54Speaker 6: like you can see the victories like the Olive Air fight,
- 14:56Speaker 6: Like he lost those first four rounds and then came
- 14:58Speaker 6: back in that fifth round and he won that fifth round.
- 15:00Speaker 6: Hebro was too far gone by that point. But the
- 15:02Speaker 6: end when he's doing you know, landing him on his
- 15:04Speaker 6: back and he's like shows me like, yo, this is
- 15:06Speaker 6: why you watch a Michael Chandler fight. Objectively speaking, there
- 15:09Speaker 6: was nothing in that fight. We were like, this is
- 15:11Speaker 6: why you watch a Michael Chandler fight. And so something
- 15:13Speaker 6: just seemed like maybe it wasn't me, maybe it was
- 15:15Speaker 6: something mental, but like something was definitely off with Mike.
- 15:19Speaker 8: Yeah, in the lightweight division, I think a fun fight
- 15:22Speaker 8: would be Phizzyev. They wouldn't be like main main events,
- 15:26Speaker 8: but it would be on a pay per view and
- 15:28Speaker 8: it would be in the main card. And Fizzyev is
- 15:30Speaker 8: still good, Like he's a fun, exciting fighter that has
- 15:34Speaker 8: quality losses and quality wins, which I think would be
- 15:38Speaker 8: a banger fight.
- 15:38Speaker 6: Yeah, you know, I'm getting sick of Conor McGregor. I'm
- 15:42Speaker 6: getting sick. I'm interested in the Patty pen like you
- 15:45Speaker 6: just said, you just said you're running for like Ireland's
- 15:48Speaker 6: president whatever y'all have over there.
- 15:50Speaker 3: I think he's got a gambling sponsor, Yeah he does.
- 15:53Speaker 8: Yeah, Patty Paddy probably don't want to fight Connor.
- 15:55Speaker 1: He's got big Patty's gonna go againstex again, to Pourier,
- 15:59Speaker 1: right they.
- 16:01Speaker 8: He wants to fight to Pooria. But I don't know, man,
- 16:05Speaker 8: I think he I would love to see him fight
- 16:08Speaker 8: Dustin Poitier, even though the big thing is Dustin versus
- 16:10Speaker 8: Justin right now, But I think Dustin Poitier, like in
- 16:14Speaker 8: his last fight, I feel like Poorier would want it
- 16:16Speaker 8: because to to put the gloves down after beating the
- 16:21Speaker 8: guy that the UFC is trying to push to the
- 16:24Speaker 8: to the title would be the ultimate Dustin Store Dustin
- 16:27Speaker 8: Pourier ending to his story, Yeah, it's like he never
- 16:31Speaker 8: really got that unified belt, but he for sure isn't
- 16:34Speaker 8: gonna let some new guy step over him to go
- 16:37Speaker 8: get it.
- 16:37Speaker 1: And he's on a how much wing streak eight eight
- 16:40Speaker 1: fight win streak last year in Miami dismantled him so
- 16:45Speaker 1: because like I know our bias on the bus. It's
- 16:47Speaker 1: like something could be off with Mike, but I don't
- 16:49Speaker 1: want it to take away from good of a performance.
- 16:51Speaker 1: Patty was incredible cause I am excited to see who
- 16:54Speaker 1: he might get paired up with next because he looked
- 16:56Speaker 1: good man, he looked in shape. He didn't you know,
- 16:58Speaker 1: he was doing interviews before the fight on the huge
- 17:00Speaker 1: Fatty Patty.
- 17:02Speaker 6: And if he took his minimal day, like maybe we
- 17:04Speaker 6: see him quick j Justin. Yeah, yeah, his accident he's got.
- 17:10Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 17:10Speaker 10: I was gonna ask JP, was that Patty's like typical
- 17:14Speaker 10: weight class that he fights in, because he looked massive.
- 17:17Speaker 8: He didn't look big, he looked good he looked crazy.
- 17:20Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 17:22Speaker 6: Yeah, And how long he hadn't fight? What two years?
- 17:24Speaker 3: Was it?
- 17:25Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 17:25Speaker 8: Two years?
- 17:26Speaker 1: And he didn't he didn't blow up the way he
- 17:27Speaker 1: has in the past, right, because what they're talking about
- 17:30Speaker 1: he's got Patty the Fatty. Yeah, and who knows if
- 17:33Speaker 1: in his mind he knows he's at this is a
- 17:35Speaker 1: moment where he could capitalize and maybe his focus is
- 17:38Speaker 1: just on the he'ty years old.
- 17:40Speaker 6: The post press conference like he was like, everything's all
- 17:42Speaker 6: about timing, and Patty seems like he's finding the timing.
- 17:45Speaker 3: Yeah, because you.
- 17:46Speaker 6: Watched that fighting, because people were saying Patty's like it's
- 17:48Speaker 6: like a gimmick. It's all like it's no one was
- 17:50Speaker 6: taking Patty seriously. But after that fight, you take him
- 17:52Speaker 6: seriously because it is. It was impressive. Yeah, impressive me.
- 17:56Speaker 8: He's thirty years old, So you got to figure like
- 17:58Speaker 8: these next three years, three to four years is it's
- 18:01Speaker 8: when you have to go.
- 18:03Speaker 3: You gotta go.
- 18:03Speaker 8: You have to lock in.
- 18:04Speaker 3: Right Yeah.
- 18:05Speaker 6: Uh John Silva, dude, dude, I love that fucking guy.
- 18:09Speaker 6: He is incredible.
- 18:12Speaker 1: When he's next to brufs Buffer and just starts barking
- 18:14Speaker 1: in the mind, barking in the mind to psycho and
- 18:16Speaker 1: then he's barking every at every chance he gets. And
- 18:19Speaker 1: then when he chokes Buddy out, Bryce Mitchell out and
- 18:22Speaker 1: dude's like eyes open, unconscious and he's standing over and
- 18:24Speaker 1: barking him.
- 18:25Speaker 3: Like you know that is old. Test was savage.
- 18:29Speaker 6: Yeah, he choked him out so fast too, like he
- 18:32Speaker 6: he was him.
- 18:33Speaker 8: It seemed like right even in the.
- 18:35Speaker 6: First round, like he walked out there, he's talking ship,
- 18:38Speaker 6: He's moving away from all the punches like also taking
- 18:40Speaker 6: minimal damage and just fucked Buddy.
- 18:42Speaker 8: Up four straight finishes and he.
- 18:44Speaker 6: I guess this dude. Silva was like begging for this fight,
- 18:48Speaker 6: got the fight. It was basically, I'm gonna kill this
- 18:50Speaker 6: guy when we get in the ring.
- 18:51Speaker 8: Looks so easy.
- 18:52Speaker 6: The moment seemed way too big for Bryce Mitchell, like
- 18:54Speaker 6: Bryce felt the pressure that Silva was like coming in relaxed, like.
- 18:58Speaker 3: The pressure He's probably aided for himself with all.
- 19:01Speaker 1: Yeah, he had a whole and stuff said some stupid ship.
- 19:04Speaker 1: You saw you saw Dave Dave Portnoy out there, ye.
- 19:09Speaker 6: All just screaming at him.
- 19:12Speaker 1: A Nazi that is the corner looks back at.
- 19:17Speaker 8: You're a Nazi.
- 19:19Speaker 6: Yeah, but bry Yeah. Bryce. Uh he made his bed
- 19:22Speaker 6: and Silva put him to sleep in it.
- 19:24Speaker 1: Hey, uh, JP is Silva? I was seeing too. It's
- 19:27Speaker 1: like Bryce Mitchell was ranked like eleventh or something like that.
- 19:30Speaker 1: Like it's Silva not ranked.
- 19:32Speaker 8: Yeah, I don't think he is ranked. That was his
- 19:33Speaker 8: first time fighting another ranked fighter or fighting a ranked fighter.
- 19:37Speaker 8: But he's gonna be ranked now because it's three fights
- 19:39Speaker 8: before this he won them all by knockout. Now he
- 19:42Speaker 8: gets this submission.
- 19:43Speaker 1: Dude, he looked good man, he looks amazing, insanely confident, relaxed,
- 19:48Speaker 1: smiling flow.
- 19:50Speaker 3: It's gonna beat him.
- 19:51Speaker 6: Yeah, he was and just having a good time. He
- 19:54Speaker 6: was practicing out there on Bryce.
- 19:55Speaker 1: Mitchell on the on FanDuel I had Silva for a
- 19:59Speaker 1: k over t k O in every round because the
- 20:01Speaker 1: odds were awesome. Yeah, and every time he got closest submitting,
- 20:05Speaker 1: I'm like, no, no, dude, I had the I had
- 20:07Speaker 1: Silva in every round to win and the smarter. Yeah
- 20:11Speaker 1: I did in a way, So I got him plus
- 20:12Speaker 1: five hundred in the second round.
- 20:14Speaker 3: Taylor, So it was me, Taylor and Clay.
- 20:16Speaker 1: We were texting the group chet kind of how some
- 20:18Speaker 1: of these fights would go talking about what bets were
- 20:20Speaker 1: gonna put in shoot fandel and after the first round,
- 20:24Speaker 1: it was like Silva to win in round one, Silva
- 20:27Speaker 1: to win in round two.
- 20:28Speaker 3: All the way through.
- 20:29Speaker 1: And it was like plus three hundred, five hundred, seven hundred,
- 20:32Speaker 1: and Silva has the performance that he does in the
- 20:34Speaker 1: first round. Taylor's in the group chat thinking if he
- 20:36Speaker 1: just wins the first round like five points.
- 20:38Speaker 6: Yeah, that's what I thought.
- 20:40Speaker 3: It was odds.
- 20:42Speaker 6: I'm in the group chat like, hey, you guys thought
- 20:44Speaker 6: he won that right like he thought? And then Will
- 20:47Speaker 6: will bring my attention that, hey, it's to win, like
- 20:49Speaker 6: it's over in that round because I thought I was
- 20:52Speaker 6: I hit ale plus three hundred right there. I'm like
- 20:56Speaker 6: the app to see my settled bets.
- 20:58Speaker 1: Like I got a favorite to win by point in
- 21:00Speaker 1: the first round plus three hundred.
- 21:01Speaker 6: Wouldn't that be nuts?
- 21:02Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 21:03Speaker 6: But he when he won in the second I was
- 21:04Speaker 6: kind of hoping Tom go to the first me.
- 21:05Speaker 3: Look at this dude just barking over him, composing, and
- 21:09Speaker 3: it was white nerds.
- 21:11Speaker 6: What are they called fight nerds?
- 21:13Speaker 3: What's that the glasses after the glasses?
- 21:15Speaker 6: Yeah, there's a group of them that all wear the
- 21:18Speaker 6: glasses with the little thing and the on the in
- 21:20Speaker 6: the middle. But yeah, dude, he was incredible. And then
- 21:24Speaker 6: Vulcan Lopez.
- 21:25Speaker 3: I didn't even I'll be honest, you did watch the
- 21:27Speaker 3: real quick they.
- 21:30Speaker 8: Yeah, looked he looked insane and bull came over from
- 21:35Speaker 8: Bellatore or whatever.
- 21:36Speaker 1: It was, and the moment was way too big. Lights
- 21:38Speaker 1: turned on and he would got just the size difference.
- 21:41Speaker 1: And seeing Rodriguez throw those kicks, it's like, because Taylor
- 21:44Speaker 1: before the fight, he's like, hey, I'm sprinkling someone on
- 21:46Speaker 1: pit Bull. And then when they both started, I haven't
- 21:48Speaker 1: seen either of them fight, but when they both started
- 21:50Speaker 1: and Rodriguez is throwing those kicks, I'm like, Taylor took
- 21:52Speaker 1: this little kid.
- 21:53Speaker 6: Yeah, clays in there like I like pit bulls punches
- 21:56Speaker 6: ball ball, but yeah, you hear he can kick, and
- 21:58Speaker 6: I'm thinking.
- 21:58Speaker 8: I'll just do his pit bull is way too no idea.
- 22:00Speaker 6: What the guy's even looked like, here comes in this dude.
- 22:04Speaker 6: He looked like he was my height. Yeah, he is
- 22:06Speaker 6: insanely tall. He's he's just powling over this cat. And
- 22:09Speaker 6: he was fluid. Man, He's like a rubber band out there.
- 22:12Speaker 6: The way he was kicking. He was smooth, but did
- 22:14Speaker 6: he just put that kid apart? But the main event
- 22:18Speaker 6: Vulcan and Lopez. And we were talking last week about hey,
- 22:21Speaker 6: because we've seen Lopez at the Sphere and he was nice.
- 22:24Speaker 6: He was like kind of whoever he fought before he
- 22:27Speaker 6: crushed him. And then this fight's like Vulk's getting old Lopez.
- 22:30Speaker 6: He might be the uppercomer guy. This is a championship.
- 22:32Speaker 6: Whoever wins this gets the belt. Vulk looked nasty. He
- 22:36Speaker 6: looked like the age was nothing to him.
- 22:39Speaker 8: Like nothing, dude. I think it was so cool because
- 22:42Speaker 8: Diego did get better as the fight went on a
- 22:44Speaker 8: little bit. But it just shows the difference in that
- 22:48Speaker 8: experience makes for these guys, because Diego just kind of
- 22:51Speaker 8: flies around out there, throws so fast, kind of throws wild,
- 22:55Speaker 8: throws these weird like like paw punches, and you can
- 22:59Speaker 8: see Vulcan most other fighters, Diego probably beats, but Vulk
- 23:04Speaker 8: just understands the moment and knows how to fight. And
- 23:07Speaker 8: it was just man, it made me so happy because
- 23:09Speaker 8: Volk's one of my favorite fighters and to see him
- 23:11Speaker 8: just do his thing. He almost got rattled a few times, but.
- 23:14Speaker 6: He did get riddled a couple of times. I mean
- 23:15Speaker 6: he was stepping backwards when he got banked that one
- 23:17Speaker 6: time it went at the ground. But like those first
- 23:20Speaker 6: what two and a half three rounds, like Vulk was
- 23:22Speaker 6: owning Lopez and throwing shots that like shot aut Lopez's chin. Yeah,
- 23:27Speaker 6: he was taking some crazy shots and would not go
- 23:29Speaker 6: down because I did the same thing Vulk to win
- 23:32Speaker 6: in round one two, three for five and didn't do
- 23:33Speaker 6: the decision. And after that first round and they're like, oh, yeah,
- 23:37Speaker 6: this is another solid fucking bet. Yeah, and sure enough, dude,
- 23:41Speaker 6: he just kept staying there and then he just he
- 23:43Speaker 6: started to get vocal a little bit. Like if that
- 23:45Speaker 6: was seven rounds, right, I mean, Lopez probably comes out
- 23:49Speaker 6: and wins that thing before he starts in the third. Yeah,
- 23:52Speaker 6: he starts that win in the first, Like, Lopez probably
- 23:54Speaker 6: wins because he's just taking shots in the face and
- 23:58Speaker 6: eating them and moving forward.
- 24:00Speaker 8: It was crazy at the end though, and he's like
- 24:02Speaker 8: telling Volk to stand in the middle of swingling. Why
- 24:06Speaker 8: would he ever do that?
- 24:07Speaker 6: Are you thinking about, well, Max Holmer, Yeah, Halloway, yea,
- 24:11Speaker 6: I'm thinking as the golfer. But Max Holloway, they stand
- 24:14Speaker 6: there in the middle and go to but if I'm Vulcan,
- 24:18Speaker 6: I'm like funk that.
- 24:20Speaker 8: He was like, he like pointed, and then he just
- 24:22Speaker 8: kind of kept going.
- 24:24Speaker 6: Toy with And I loved Volk's postgame press conference like
- 24:28Speaker 6: adversity is a gift a fucking bar man.
- 24:32Speaker 8: Yeah, him and as Anya give like the best post
- 24:36Speaker 8: fight press conference.
- 24:37Speaker 6: The Australian accent. He says that you're just kind of
- 24:40Speaker 6: like it just means a little bit more with that accent,
- 24:42Speaker 6: means a little bit more.
- 24:43Speaker 8: Great card, I know.
- 24:45Speaker 6: Yeah, I was trying to hit the reverse psychology with
- 24:47Speaker 6: that Lopez. That Lopez tweet saying like always got a
- 24:50Speaker 6: cement tionin hoping the next round he get banked. Yeah, man,
- 24:54Speaker 6: should we uh we feel good about UFC. You guys,
- 24:57Speaker 6: anybody want anything you guys are selling. We don't have
- 24:59Speaker 6: to this episode to bring you Neutral. Have you tried Neutral?
- 25:03Speaker 6: If not, boys, you're missing out. Neutral is so much
- 25:05Speaker 6: better than any seltzer that I have personally ever tried
- 25:08Speaker 6: to come in with real vodka and real juice, and
- 25:11Speaker 6: that's what makes it delicious. Neutral comes in a variety
- 25:13Speaker 6: of flavors. We're talking pineapple, watermelon, what orange, what and
- 25:17Speaker 6: new flavors Lime what and strawberry Neutral is the perfect
- 25:21Speaker 6: drink to bring when you're hanging with friends, and that
- 25:23Speaker 6: thing is such a crowd pleaser. Neutral. Keep a tasty, boys,
- 25:27Speaker 6: let's get back to this episode. Let's move it forward,
- 25:29Speaker 6: Let's talk. Let's get Jack me Feers on the mic.
- 25:31Speaker 6: We got to talk about some college football.
- 25:33Speaker 1: Do we want to by the time we go through
- 25:34Speaker 1: the weekend, do we want to touch on the Masters?
- 25:37Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 25:38Speaker 1: I Meancelroy. It was fun to watch, Like know one
- 25:45Speaker 1: that I have watched golf like one day of the year,
- 25:47Speaker 1: one day of the year, and it's always the Championship
- 25:49Speaker 1: of the Masters, and known the storyline is going into
- 25:52Speaker 1: It's like you got him and Bryce and paired up.
- 25:54Speaker 1: You got some guys who's gonna finish in the top ten.
- 25:56Speaker 1: Shout out a Homa, Shout out Homa.
- 25:58Speaker 3: Just being in the being in the run, the way
- 26:00Speaker 3: he's in the mix. Yeah, being in the mix.
- 26:02Speaker 1: But it's like Rory, all this stuff about him choking
- 26:04Speaker 1: and again that last round was a bunt. Was a
- 26:06Speaker 1: lot of roller coasters, even that last putt in the
- 26:08Speaker 1: last hole.
- 26:09Speaker 9: I mean the first hole yesterday, Rory doubles Bryson Parrs.
- 26:13Speaker 9: Now they're even.
- 26:14Speaker 1: Yeah, just like that, out of the gate, out of
- 26:16Speaker 1: the gate and then goes to minus ten.
- 26:19Speaker 9: Quick, Oh yeah, I walked away from the TV for
- 26:22Speaker 9: one second. They're on whole four and it's like four
- 26:25Speaker 9: different things have changed. Roy's back to like twelve or
- 26:28Speaker 9: eleven under Brison's at nine and then you're like, oh, okay,
- 26:31Speaker 9: we're in one.
- 26:32Speaker 1: Yeah, and then coming out of the weeds, justin Justin Rose,
- 26:36Speaker 1: howd he start off to day? What was he at
- 26:37Speaker 1: minus five or six?
- 26:39Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 26:39Speaker 9: He was like six back and we were talked about
- 26:43Speaker 9: last week, but there's only been four people to ever
- 26:45Speaker 9: win the Masters. After leading the first day and when
- 26:48Speaker 9: he started coming back, I was like, no, shit, like
- 26:51Speaker 9: here we go. I kind of forgot about him. But
- 26:54Speaker 9: Rory showed a lot of composure that I don't think
- 26:58Speaker 9: he's gotten the better side of in recent matches and
- 27:03Speaker 9: like right years and for him to battle the adversity, know,
- 27:08Speaker 9: the pairing with Bryson is just like added tension. The
- 27:12Speaker 9: fans love Bryson, so like if it comes down the stretch,
- 27:16Speaker 9: what side are they gonna pull for the crowd, Like,
- 27:18Speaker 9: are they gonna be like Bryson's a showman, like he's balling,
- 27:21Speaker 9: let's go, or are they gonna side with Rory who's
- 27:23Speaker 9: going for the career Grand Slam felt like he had
- 27:26Speaker 9: a lot of the crowd bro they were hyper once
- 27:28Speaker 9: once Bryson started falling off, everyone was like, Okay, we
- 27:33Speaker 9: understand the assignment. Yeah, we gotta get Rory to this finish.
- 27:36Speaker 1: Because even again, he had moments where I forget what
- 27:38Speaker 1: hall was, where he goes in the he goes in
- 27:40Speaker 1: the bunker, and again, I want to say I had
- 27:42Speaker 1: a tweet like he should be going full hypy Gilmore
- 27:44Speaker 1: because you could tell he was very piss at himself
- 27:45Speaker 1: that he had that shot. But it's like all the
- 27:47Speaker 1: external noise of choking that weighs in on those high
- 27:50Speaker 1: pressure moments for him to win that story this time.
- 27:53Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 27:54Speaker 1: And two it's like justin Rose, he finished like what
- 27:56Speaker 1: was the two holes before Rory got done and hit
- 27:58Speaker 1: a massive putt to sit at minus ten eleven, and
- 28:03Speaker 1: it was Rory was ahead there and it was just
- 28:05Speaker 1: like his match to kind of fuck up or to lose,
- 28:08Speaker 1: and he got down to where he ends up missing
- 28:11Speaker 1: that two putting at the end and going into that
- 28:13Speaker 1: playoff to where Justin kind of has all the momentum
- 28:16Speaker 1: and they come out on top. And witness that moment
- 28:18Speaker 1: when he does hit it. He starts crying out walking
- 28:21Speaker 1: everybody cheering for him.
- 28:22Speaker 9: Embrace the family you're talking about, like standing up watching
- 28:25Speaker 9: the fights like in your living room. The nerves I
- 28:29Speaker 9: felt for Rory hitting the first putt on eighteen to
- 28:32Speaker 9: potentially win outright was like my hands were shaking, dude,
- 28:36Speaker 9: how do you stand? First off? How do you pipe
- 28:40Speaker 9: one down the fairway? Hit it into the bunker and
- 28:43Speaker 9: they didn't have to walk to the bunker, going all right,
- 28:46Speaker 9: I know I can hit the shot. There's plenty of room.
- 28:48Speaker 9: I have a great lie. But then for the ball
- 28:50Speaker 9: to kind of check up a little bit, like it
- 28:53Speaker 9: did not get as close to the hole as you
- 28:55Speaker 9: would like it to to lease still as like the
- 29:00Speaker 9: scariest six foot put of all time, or however long
- 29:02Speaker 9: it was. I know, dude, I would throw up.
- 29:06Speaker 3: The nerves though is but my legs would be shaky.
- 29:12Speaker 6: Because I popped it. I popped it on when he
- 29:13Speaker 6: was walking to the bunker after that bunker shot, and
- 29:15Speaker 6: then I'm realizing how close of a match this is,
- 29:19Speaker 6: and when he pops it up, I'm thinking about how
- 29:21Speaker 6: would I how do I feel right now in my
- 29:23Speaker 6: living room watching this? How I can't imagine how he feels.
- 29:26Speaker 6: And when he misses, and that pans over to Rose
- 29:29Speaker 6: who's just on the green, and he just goes up
- 29:32Speaker 6: to his cadd He goes like kind of like, all right,
- 29:34Speaker 6: let's fucking do this, taps it in and they go.
- 29:37Speaker 6: I'm getting goosebumps right now because I'm sitting there like.
- 29:39Speaker 3: You guys know what might like stance on golf.
- 29:41Speaker 6: I'm not like a huge golf guy, the outfits, the
- 29:43Speaker 6: all that. This moment was massive, watching them boasted on
- 29:47Speaker 6: the te box at eighteen, being like, whoever wins this
- 29:50Speaker 6: hole wins the Masters gets this jacket. I'm usually I'm
- 29:53Speaker 6: a green jacket, gold jackt who gives a shit type
- 29:55Speaker 6: of guy, But in this moment, I'm thinking, we got
- 29:57Speaker 6: to get this green fucking jacket. Go on the FanDuel
- 29:59Speaker 6: of sports, what gap over or for you?
- 30:03Speaker 1: I took justin Rose and so it's tough weekend, but
- 30:06Speaker 1: hey today I didn't.
- 30:08Speaker 3: Hit on one bet prevailed.
- 30:09Speaker 6: To Will's to Will's bet, Like just that thought Processes.
- 30:14Speaker 6: I had the same thing over my head, like, Okay,
- 30:15Speaker 6: Rory just missed this putt to win the Masters, and
- 30:18Speaker 6: I'm seeing all these things about him, like kind of
- 30:20Speaker 6: choking a little bit. Maybe it is justin Rose's time.
- 30:23Speaker 6: But then I just saw the odds. I saw the
- 30:25Speaker 6: odds minus one forty. I was like, let me just
- 30:27Speaker 6: go with Rory. I know the name more than I
- 30:28Speaker 6: know Roses, So I'm just gonna go with Rory. I
- 30:30Speaker 6: end up working out.
- 30:31Speaker 9: Rose is a legend. He's been around forever.
- 30:33Speaker 6: Yeah, but it sucks that he's always the bride's made of,
- 30:36Speaker 6: never the bride for sure.
- 30:37Speaker 9: Like I just pulled it up for that point exactly.
- 30:41Speaker 9: He did take home two point three million dollars coming second.
- 30:44Speaker 3: But yeah, but hey, do you see uh, I don't know.
- 30:47Speaker 6: That's a good question, Josh Allen.
- 30:48Speaker 1: People who go to the Masters, like Caitlyn Clark was
- 30:50Speaker 1: talking about. She was doing an interview saying how that's
- 30:52Speaker 1: the coolest event because of how unique it is. It's
- 30:55Speaker 1: just how many people are sitting around every hole, especially
- 30:58Speaker 1: that last shot in the moment, because nobody can f
- 31:00Speaker 1: bones Like everybody's just in the pressment. It's quiet you
- 31:04Speaker 1: see the crowdy roughed after or they get upset when
- 31:07Speaker 1: the you know, their guy misses a shot. It has
- 31:09Speaker 1: to be so sick. Yeah, and the pressure that these
- 31:12Speaker 1: guys got it.
- 31:13Speaker 6: We gotta go one one day next year, gotta go.
- 31:16Speaker 3: Yeah, that would be wild.
- 31:17Speaker 9: Can document anything, which to your point is awesome, but
- 31:20Speaker 9: for our sake would be.
- 31:21Speaker 6: Yeah, for the business not great, but I do think
- 31:24Speaker 6: that makes it.
- 31:24Speaker 1: That would be that much more uh just special, like
- 31:27Speaker 1: as a crew, if we go, or if when our
- 31:29Speaker 1: kids get old enough you take him. You see, like
- 31:31Speaker 1: these parents who take their kids, and just the lure
- 31:33Speaker 1: of golf in those high stakes moment, it's like there
- 31:37Speaker 1: can be I think I'm confident to say that. I
- 31:40Speaker 1: don't think there's a high pressure moment that would match
- 31:43Speaker 1: the Masters, like on the last hole, like that that
- 31:45Speaker 1: Rory and those guys are feeling on the last hole.
- 31:47Speaker 1: Any moment in any sport.
- 31:49Speaker 8: Let me.
- 31:50Speaker 9: It's you VERSU really is for four days.
- 31:53Speaker 6: Fourth quarter, two seconds of the clock, thirty five yard line,
- 31:56Speaker 6: you gotta kick a field goal to win the super Bowl,
- 31:59Speaker 6: maybe for the kicker, Like I mean, that's gotta be
- 32:02Speaker 6: that's right, Like yeah, yeah, they're always while you're putting.
- 32:07Speaker 9: You imagine, but there's part of me.
- 32:09Speaker 1: Thinks the silence with that many people around would almost be.
- 32:14Speaker 3: A little bit more.
- 32:15Speaker 9: You start, Yeah, yeah, I'll bet you hear your heartbeat
- 32:18Speaker 9: in that moment.
- 32:18Speaker 3: Yeah for the kicker.
- 32:19Speaker 6: And also, hey, like if you have a massive bet
- 32:22Speaker 6: on right and you got Rose and you took him
- 32:26Speaker 6: in the before the even started and he could win
- 32:28Speaker 6: it and you're in that crowd, and exactly why not
- 32:31Speaker 6: just hit up?
- 32:33Speaker 1: And also the field goals. The field goals massive, like
- 32:37Speaker 1: finding the line in that little ass.
- 32:38Speaker 9: Hole, bro, it's crazy. I did hit a crazy bet,
- 32:43Speaker 9: picked Rory to win on before they started the tournament,
- 32:47Speaker 9: and then we picked you get in on it with
- 32:49Speaker 9: the top fives, Scotty to finish top five, Rory to
- 32:53Speaker 9: finish top five, Bryson to finish top five, and then
- 32:57Speaker 9: Love Big Auburg to finish top ten. Patrick Reid hits
- 33:01Speaker 9: a hole in one on sixteen to bump Rice into
- 33:04Speaker 9: six and Love bigs in top five, and I'm like,
- 33:08Speaker 9: no fucking way this is gonna happen. Loving triples eighteen
- 33:13Speaker 9: to fall just enough to bump Rice and back up
- 33:15Speaker 9: to five and him to finish in the top ten.
- 33:18Speaker 9: So yeah, oh yeah.
- 33:19Speaker 6: Don let's right there.
- 33:23Speaker 1: One that skipped in the hole. Yeah, one that was
- 33:26Speaker 1: nuts and he didn't even know it went in the hole.
- 33:27Speaker 1: It like bounced and went straight into the cup.
- 33:29Speaker 3: No ship, Yeah dude, and he's like sitting there.
- 33:32Speaker 11: Auberg cost some five hundred and sixty thousand dollars.
- 33:35Speaker 3: What the triple that he had.
- 33:37Speaker 11: On eighteen Auburg it cost some five hundred grand.
- 33:41Speaker 9: Hey, think about Rory too, not only a green jacket,
- 33:43Speaker 9: but there's a nice pay Dave.
- 33:46Speaker 6: Think about the endorsements they're gonna come as well.
- 33:48Speaker 1: That's true too, like video though the kicker thing, like
- 33:51Speaker 1: there's not those financials in play too. I don't even
- 33:53Speaker 1: know if they're thinking about it.
- 33:54Speaker 3: They might be, but incentives would be like the closest.
- 33:57Speaker 6: Yeah, would you be thinking if you did you ever
- 34:00Speaker 6: incentives at all when you played?
- 34:01Speaker 3: No?
- 34:02Speaker 6: Hell?
- 34:02Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 34:02Speaker 6: And so guy, yeah guys never, I mean, I guess
- 34:06Speaker 6: guys think about it, like week seventeen or week eighteen
- 34:08Speaker 6: when there were seventeen games, they're like, hey, I need
- 34:09Speaker 6: three catches. You see Gronk he like needed one more
- 34:12Speaker 6: in a couple of yards, right, And Brady kind of
- 34:14Speaker 6: give him a little flat route. But I think when
- 34:17Speaker 6: it comes to those moments in sports that you're no
- 34:19Speaker 6: one's thinking about money.
- 34:20Speaker 3: Not the first.
- 34:21Speaker 9: If you're in twentieth place, you're.
- 34:23Speaker 6: Thinking about eleven exactly when you have nothing to do,
- 34:25Speaker 6: You're like, hey, maybe if I can get to eighteen
- 34:27Speaker 6: in the.
- 34:27Speaker 1: Middle, like after you missed a second, when you're like, fuck,
- 34:30Speaker 1: I'm losing money, yeah, yeah, yeah, and you know you're
- 34:33Speaker 1: kind of out of it.
- 34:34Speaker 9: Well yeah, off, you can be like a Soul. You
- 34:38Speaker 9: can hold a sole position in the leaderboard, so you
- 34:40Speaker 9: could be like Soul seventh, But if you drop a Shoup,
- 34:43Speaker 9: you're tied for eighth with like ten people, and then
- 34:47Speaker 9: the money split is.
- 34:48Speaker 6: Just so the splits disgusting, I bet, But shout out Rory.
- 34:53Speaker 8: Rory's dinner is about to be so mid next year.
- 34:56Speaker 3: Though, bro.
- 34:59Speaker 6: Roy to Arizona and get them on Zips. If you
- 35:02Speaker 6: can just have those wings man, by the way, Zips
- 35:05Speaker 6: DM me on Instagram. I appreciate you shouting out Zips.
- 35:09Speaker 6: Blah blah blah. He's setting all there. He Zips is
- 35:11Speaker 6: setting us all like shirts and stuff like that.
- 35:14Speaker 3: We need a gift card man, for real.
- 35:17Speaker 6: What's that?
- 35:18Speaker 3: Zip? Offs?
- 35:19Speaker 6: Nice? I see you with that. I had one more thing,
- 35:23Speaker 6: oh dude, I so for whatever reason, I put that
- 35:26Speaker 6: bed in and then all of a sudden, my algorithm
- 35:28Speaker 6: goes to golf all the rest of yesterday and learning
- 35:31Speaker 6: about the Masters and how they operate, how they don't
- 35:34Speaker 6: have you know, like the Mercedes Benz fifteenth hole or
- 35:37Speaker 6: all this. They keep everything so pure. They're essentially walking
- 35:40Speaker 6: away from hundreds of millions of dollars. Like even with
- 35:43Speaker 6: like the product, they make sure everything goes into the
- 35:45Speaker 6: production of it. No phones. The food's like a dollar
- 35:47Speaker 6: sixty five for a turkey sandwich, Like, yeah, that shit
- 35:50Speaker 6: is awesome. That is so cool. How they keep like
- 35:53Speaker 6: the purity of golf in that and.
- 35:55Speaker 3: Everyone who goes it's like it still exceeds their high expectations.
- 35:58Speaker 6: Right.
- 35:59Speaker 7: Well, they make like what is it, like in a
- 36:01Speaker 7: million dollars every hour in the pro shop, So that's
- 36:05Speaker 7: how they make all their money back because that's the
- 36:07Speaker 7: only spot you can get Master's gears in that pro
- 36:09Speaker 7: shop that's.
- 36:10Speaker 3: Not on the way.
- 36:11Speaker 7: So they make all the that's.
- 36:12Speaker 6: Cool that.
- 36:15Speaker 9: Thousands of dollars worth and then go resell it yeah.
- 36:18Speaker 6: Yeah, I saw the tickets themselves. And when you buy
- 36:20Speaker 6: the tickets like four and focks five hundred bucks for
- 36:23Speaker 6: a couple of day past Yeah, reselling is like ten
- 36:26Speaker 6: thousand dollars no.
- 36:27Speaker 3: Shit, which is just crazy. Yeah, we're going.
- 36:30Speaker 1: I got to go to the women's it's like the
- 36:34Speaker 1: Super Bowl tickets.
- 36:34Speaker 10: Yeah, yeah, I got never did we never did that
- 36:37Speaker 10: to the women's hamitter last year. And the store opens
- 36:40Speaker 10: during the women's hamitter for the Masters. So we're walking
- 36:44Speaker 10: in break of dawn, like six thirty and there are
- 36:48Speaker 10: hundreds of people sprinting past us with gardening nomes, like
- 36:53Speaker 10: Master's branded gardening nomes so that they can resell it online.
- 36:57Speaker 10: And we get into the store and the line was
- 37:00Speaker 10: already three hours long. And like the Master's tournament hasn't
- 37:04Speaker 10: even started. It's not even the practice rounds the Women's Amateur.
- 37:08Speaker 10: You have a three hour line. It's nuts.
- 37:11Speaker 6: That is crazy.
- 37:14Speaker 3: That is nuts.
- 37:16Speaker 1: Another big story of the weekend college football Nico, Yeah,
- 37:22Speaker 1: which one do you want to hit? Let's just hit
- 37:24Speaker 1: him after, get him after, and then just plug him in.
- 37:27Speaker 6: Let's do that.
- 37:28Speaker 11: Nobody is bigger than the team.
- 37:30Speaker 6: Nobody is bigger than the team.
- 37:33Speaker 11: Nobody sitting around football literally shout out josh Iipol Nico
- 37:39Speaker 11: Leila is a absolute coward. He's ruining the game. I
- 37:43Speaker 11: hate n I l now, but I understand that it's
- 37:46Speaker 11: a business. But to have the season you did, and
- 37:49Speaker 11: to get your dick kicked in against Ohio State in
- 37:52Speaker 11: the playoffs, and then to ask for four million dollars
- 37:55Speaker 11: a year and not to be showing up to spring practices,
- 37:59Speaker 11: I'm so glad that that Tennessee handled this. And to
- 38:02Speaker 11: not even address it or not even to acknowledge it,
- 38:05Speaker 11: and to just dismiss Nico from the team, it says
- 38:07Speaker 11: a lot. It was awesome to see like the support
- 38:10Speaker 11: across Twitter throughout the nation, everyone kind of taking josh
- 38:13Speaker 11: Ipels back because we're just saying this Wild West era
- 38:16Speaker 11: of like these kids who want more money and they
- 38:18Speaker 11: want more everything, but they're not putting it on paper
- 38:21Speaker 11: and they're not winning the games you need them to.
- 38:24Speaker 11: I couldn't be happier. We are in a pickle. We
- 38:27Speaker 11: have two quarterbacks on our roster right now, Jake Murklinger
- 38:31Speaker 11: and what's it George McIntyre, who are both very inexperienced quarterbacks,
- 38:37Speaker 11: But we also have a guy coming in, which doesn't
- 38:40Speaker 11: help us this year, but twenty twenty six, Faison Brandon,
- 38:43Speaker 11: who's the number one prospect in all of college football
- 38:46Speaker 11: who's committed to Tennessee. That's like a positive. But what
- 38:50Speaker 11: Tennessee football needs to do is pick up someone in
- 38:53Speaker 11: the transfer portal who's an experienced quarterback who can come
- 38:55Speaker 11: in and make these other two kids McIntyre and merck
- 38:58Speaker 11: Linger like fight for it and also learn behind them.
- 39:02Speaker 11: And then we also have this kid coming in twenty
- 39:04Speaker 11: twenty six, so I'm hoping we get a veteran, experienced
- 39:07Speaker 11: guy in the portal. Obviously, we don't want him coming
- 39:10Speaker 11: in the SEC because you can't. You'll have to sit
- 39:13Speaker 11: a year if you transfer in your conference. But I'm
- 39:17Speaker 11: so happy the way that Tancy handled the situation. It
- 39:19Speaker 11: was it was chaotic. I was in Knox this weekend
- 39:21Speaker 11: for a wedding, so like fuck I was. It was
- 39:23Speaker 11: even closer to home. But everyone seems like they're on it.
- 39:27Speaker 11: I mean, even Tony Vaitelo had an interview after one
- 39:30Speaker 11: of their games yesterday they played a little Miss and
- 39:33Speaker 11: he was saying, whether it's football or baseball or basketball,
- 39:36Speaker 11: don't come to this university asking for handouts because that's
- 39:39Speaker 11: not what we're about. And so like just across the board,
- 39:42Speaker 11: everyone has the support of Hypel, and I bet Nicole
- 39:47Speaker 11: will probably go to the West Coast because that's where
- 39:49Speaker 11: he's from. He's from California. But man if fired me
- 39:53Speaker 11: up too hearing about coach landing where we just were.
- 39:56Speaker 11: He apparently the rumors were spreading that. He warned Hypel
- 39:59Speaker 11: that they Nico is reaching out to a bunch of
- 40:01Speaker 11: people and trying to get offers and feel the waters.
- 40:04Speaker 11: So to hear that there's some coaches out there who
- 40:07Speaker 11: still believe in the game, it was a good feeling.
- 40:10Speaker 3: I thought it was.
- 40:11Speaker 1: Well, dude, you see Josh Paid's clip. He's doing a
- 40:13Speaker 1: show and he was talking like there's Tennessee guys like
- 40:17Speaker 1: Nico being one of them who are leveraging, trying to leverage. Hey,
- 40:20Speaker 1: they're playing extra games in the playoffs, so they want
- 40:22Speaker 1: more money because the structure that they currently have is
- 40:24Speaker 1: like twelve you might play a conference title, but then
- 40:27Speaker 1: going into the playoffs, there were players coming in trying
- 40:29Speaker 1: to leverage that to say they should be getting paid
- 40:31Speaker 1: more per game.
- 40:33Speaker 3: Yeah, that's why we didn't go, hey.
- 40:37Speaker 6: Shout out Tennessee.
- 40:38Speaker 11: I'm at a part up. It feels going to be
- 40:40Speaker 11: a fan just for Highpool to just stand on business
- 40:43Speaker 11: and and say this is not about fineancers. It obviously
- 40:46Speaker 11: is it will always be an aspect of the game
- 40:49Speaker 11: now that we're in this Nile era. But for him
- 40:51Speaker 11: to just completely shut down our Nico was the highest
- 40:54Speaker 11: paid Inile athlete ever as of right now.
- 40:57Speaker 3: They give him eight million.
- 40:58Speaker 11: Dollars for four years. They're giving him two point four
- 41:00Speaker 11: million dollars a year, and he wants four million dollars.
- 41:03Speaker 3: Now.
- 41:04Speaker 11: I just don't think it's a good look too for
- 41:06Speaker 11: your future, for the future of your college career, going
- 41:08Speaker 11: into the pros. It just shows that you're difficult to
- 41:10Speaker 11: work with and obviously it's more about yourself than it
- 41:14Speaker 11: is the team. I don't know what do y'all think.
- 41:18Speaker 11: If you're playing in there and y'all starting quarterback wants that,
- 41:21Speaker 11: are you pissed at him or do you kind of
- 41:23Speaker 11: understand it because that you know, you want to get
- 41:25Speaker 11: as much money as you can because now we're in
- 41:27Speaker 11: this weird era. But I mean, if I'm a player,
- 41:29Speaker 11: especially if I'm an old Ligneman and my guy all
- 41:32Speaker 11: of a sudden bounces out, doesn't tell anyone, doesn't show
- 41:34Speaker 11: the spring practices the day before the Orange and White game.
- 41:38Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 41:39Speaker 11: It just seems like coward esque.
- 41:41Speaker 1: Yeah, I'd be tied about it as a teammate. As
- 41:43Speaker 1: a player, I think it's it's so hard because it's
- 41:46Speaker 1: such a wild West. Like people, it's like, you don't
- 41:48Speaker 1: want to fault Nico. You don't want to fault Like
- 41:50Speaker 1: it's like what the NCAA is created because there are
- 41:52Speaker 1: no boundaries and if we're in a capitalist world, we're
- 41:55Speaker 1: in a capitalist society.
- 41:56Speaker 3: You want everybody to.
- 41:57Speaker 1: Earn what they want to earn, like while they had
- 41:59Speaker 1: these windows about opportunity. But I think for me it
- 42:02Speaker 1: sucks to see because the mentality and commitment that this game,
- 42:08Speaker 1: that the game breeds into life like in all of
- 42:11Speaker 1: it is like getting lost because you're so consumed by
- 42:14Speaker 1: what's my value? What can my value be in the market.
- 42:16Speaker 1: I want everybody to get paid. I want the player,
- 42:19Speaker 1: like if I'm a player, to me, it's like, yes,
- 42:21Speaker 1: I want to get paid. And there's going to be
- 42:23Speaker 1: a range, right, there might not be an exact dollar
- 42:25Speaker 1: amount But if you're with the school and they're hitting
- 42:27Speaker 1: your range, whether or not you're flirting with other schools
- 42:30Speaker 1: or other opportunities. But after that, it's like you listen
- 42:34Speaker 1: to John Grune's speech the whole about the team, guys
- 42:37Speaker 1: are missing on thinking about and pouring into the team.
- 42:40Speaker 1: But if I'm a teammate and I know my quarterback
- 42:42Speaker 1: is getting two and a half million dollars a shitload
- 42:45Speaker 1: of money, it's like, hey, can you operate? Are you
- 42:48Speaker 1: out of school with all the resources necessary to make
- 42:50Speaker 1: it to the big leagues? Because every kid their dream
- 42:53Speaker 1: is to play professional football, and we're now in a
- 42:55Speaker 1: world where you can now get paid in college. But
- 42:57Speaker 1: if it's all about you want to get to the
- 42:59Speaker 1: next level, you're at a schools where you have all
- 43:01Speaker 1: the resources. You have a team around you, you have the
- 43:03Speaker 1: coaching staff, you have everything you need to be successful
- 43:06Speaker 1: a life and to set you up for the next level. Like,
- 43:08Speaker 1: if they're hitting your range of money, it's like, what
- 43:11Speaker 1: are we bitching about? And if you're so worried about
- 43:14Speaker 1: making the four million, it is like, if I'm a teammate,
- 43:16Speaker 1: I'm me in the locker room or whatever I'm thinking
- 43:19Speaker 1: to myself or whatever group of leadership that you're around.
- 43:21Speaker 3: You're sitting there with the coach.
- 43:22Speaker 1: And be like, yeah, get them out of here, because
- 43:24Speaker 1: you want guys who are committed to the fucking team.
- 43:26Speaker 1: You're getting paid. Well, I know everybody wants their market value.
- 43:30Speaker 1: I know everybody wants to leverage and do all the
- 43:32Speaker 1: things they can to optimize their moment of time because
- 43:35Speaker 1: they might get not get paid any more money. But bro,
- 43:38Speaker 1: you're already getting paid. These college athletes, you're getting paid,
- 43:41Speaker 1: You're getting fairly compensated. It's like at that point, man,
- 43:43Speaker 1: you need the guys in the locker room, and you
- 43:46Speaker 1: need the culture that is all about winning a championship,
- 43:48Speaker 1: because if you win a championship, it's all going to
- 43:50Speaker 1: trickle down to you and all your teammates.
- 43:52Speaker 3: Winning. Winning sells everything.
- 43:54Speaker 6: You see it.
- 43:54Speaker 3: In the NFL, A team wins a Super.
- 43:56Speaker 1: Bowl and guys on that roster would be getting paid
- 43:58Speaker 1: more money because they think they have some value or
- 44:00Speaker 1: some leadership or some culture aspect that they're going to
- 44:03Speaker 1: bring into their locker room. It's gonna be the same
- 44:05Speaker 1: thing in college football. It's like when you're pouring into
- 44:07Speaker 1: the team, into the team, you sign your an il deal,
- 44:09Speaker 1: You're like, all right, I'm committed to this university. Pay
- 44:12Speaker 1: me four years, eight million dollars. Yeah, there's gonna be
- 44:14Speaker 1: new kids that come in that that break that barrier.
- 44:17Speaker 1: That you can't sit there and look around and check
- 44:18Speaker 1: other people's pockets because then it's just gonna piss you
- 44:21Speaker 1: off and you're chasing it for the wrong reasons. At
- 44:23Speaker 1: that point, the mentality that you have playing college football, Man,
- 44:26Speaker 1: you get paid well.
- 44:27Speaker 3: Now, I hate it. I hate it.
- 44:30Speaker 1: It bothers me a lot because again, it's like, I
- 44:33Speaker 1: hate faulting the kid because in my brain, he's not
- 44:36Speaker 1: mature enough to know all the ins and outs of it.
- 44:39Speaker 1: These agents, the people, his counsel, he has bad counsel.
- 44:42Speaker 3: These guys who are money hungry.
- 44:43Speaker 1: It's like, hey, you should be getting paid more now
- 44:45Speaker 1: that you're in the playoffs, and you talk that into
- 44:47Speaker 1: the player, and then all of a sudden he might
- 44:49Speaker 1: not be. He's not the most mature kid yet, so
- 44:51Speaker 1: he doesn't know. He's gonna lean on people who he trusts.
- 44:53Speaker 6: You don't blame Nico in the situation, you believe you.
- 44:56Speaker 6: You blame the people around him that have influence in
- 44:58Speaker 6: his life because you neither has to be a level
- 45:00Speaker 6: of work ethic, that has to be a level of
- 45:02Speaker 6: buy in any level, high school, college or NFL. All
- 45:05Speaker 6: I agree with everything you just said, this from a
- 45:08Speaker 6: Tennessee standpoint, like is your team better or worse now?
- 45:10Speaker 6: You're probably not as good as you were forty eight
- 45:12Speaker 6: hours ago, seventy two hours ago when he was on
- 45:14Speaker 6: the team, But the culture of your team and the
- 45:17Speaker 6: long term is going to be better off because of it.
- 45:19Speaker 6: Nico has made a decision, a short term decision for
- 45:22Speaker 6: more money than the long term is going to affect
- 45:24Speaker 6: him when he goes to the NFL. Guys are not
- 45:26Speaker 6: gonna belie him a much. Hey, if there's another dollar,
- 45:27Speaker 6: if there's another shiny toy just across the fence, you're
- 45:31Speaker 6: gonna be a type of guy to go get that.
- 45:32Speaker 6: If I'm an offensive lineman and that's my quarterback, I'm heated.
- 45:36Speaker 6: I'm pissed because at the end of the day, you
- 45:38Speaker 6: like to believe we're not in college football and this
- 45:39Speaker 6: is a totally different world than you and I were in.
- 45:41Speaker 6: But you like to believe that everybody in that locker
- 45:43Speaker 6: room who's wearing Orange is all striving to win a
- 45:46Speaker 6: national championship, win the SEC championship, and make a big
- 45:49Speaker 6: run in the playoffs. So when a guy goes, I
- 45:51Speaker 6: want one point six million dollars more. When you put
- 45:54Speaker 6: up twenty six hundred yards in the past year, nineteen touchdowns,
- 45:58Speaker 6: five interceptions, Like you're not sorry, well says five right here, but.
- 46:03Speaker 3: You're you're not.
- 46:04Speaker 6: You're not that guy Like you're like, I get it.
- 46:06Speaker 6: You can make more money. Everyone's going more money. Listen,
- 46:08Speaker 6: when I signed my second contract, I was the highest
- 46:11Speaker 6: paid offensive linement in NFL history. Two years later I
- 46:14Speaker 6: was barely breaking the top ten. And you could sit
- 46:16Speaker 6: there and be like, oh damn, I want more money. No,
- 46:17Speaker 6: it's like you have to be grateful for what you
- 46:20Speaker 6: get in the moment. You are because every single time
- 46:22Speaker 6: somebody gets paid the most, I promise you maybe a
- 46:25Speaker 6: week later, a daily you see this with the off season.
- 46:27Speaker 6: This year Max Cross the highest paid non quarterback in history.
- 46:31Speaker 6: Like a week and a half later, he's like fifth.
- 46:33Speaker 6: Like that is the way the game goes. It's about timing.
- 46:35Speaker 6: But you legacy seems like it doesn't mean as much
- 46:38Speaker 6: these guys anymore, And you want to go. You want
- 46:40Speaker 6: to buy and from these from the players and the
- 46:42Speaker 6: culture and the team, So shout out Hypel. I think
- 46:45Speaker 6: that's a huge long term win. It might be, it
- 46:47Speaker 6: might affect you guys this year.
- 46:48Speaker 11: I mean, well, I'm I'm I was nervous with or
- 46:51Speaker 11: without an ECO because we lost four of our five
- 46:53Speaker 11: starting O linemen, our three best receivers, and Dylan Samson
- 46:57Speaker 11: SEC Player of the Year. So we have a lot
- 46:59Speaker 11: of whole to fill on our offense. So I'm wondering
- 47:02Speaker 11: if I put myself in Nico's shoes, if they're part
- 47:05Speaker 11: of him. Was like, I have lost a lot of
- 47:07Speaker 11: talent on this team, so I'm going to ask for
- 47:10Speaker 11: more money because you know, it's the best situation for
- 47:14Speaker 11: me financially, because we might not be as good this
- 47:16Speaker 11: coming year. So maybe he's thinking just for the future,
- 47:19Speaker 11: but I don't know. It definitely falls on his camp,
- 47:23Speaker 11: his father, who's a scumbag. All of a sudden, he's
- 47:26Speaker 11: nowhere to be found on Twitter anymore, and he was
- 47:28Speaker 11: talking all this shit his agents. I part of me
- 47:32Speaker 11: feels kind of bad for Nico. I don't know whose
- 47:34Speaker 11: ultimate decision it was. I mean, I'm not an Eco
- 47:36Speaker 11: fan anymore, he very well could go down as one
- 47:39Speaker 11: of the most hated balls now in history.
- 47:41Speaker 6: Then I feel.
- 47:42Speaker 11: Bad for that kid because if it was a majority
- 47:44Speaker 11: decision based on his camp and not him, obviously he
- 47:47Speaker 11: has a final say. But yeah, it's just you just
- 47:51Speaker 11: want kids to play.
- 47:52Speaker 3: Just think it too.
- 47:52Speaker 1: It's like two million dollars, you're looking at your realistic
- 47:57Speaker 1: with the body of work you just had to where
- 47:58Speaker 1: if you're going to go in the market and try
- 47:59Speaker 1: to command more money.
- 48:01Speaker 3: But it's like, if I'm the player and your body of.
- 48:05Speaker 1: Work doesn't show that you're satisfied with that body of
- 48:08Speaker 1: work at the end of the day, it's like, where's
- 48:11Speaker 1: your mental at on, like wanting to pour into the
- 48:13Speaker 1: excellence on the field and training and everything to get better.
- 48:16Speaker 1: Because when you look at your bank account and you're
- 48:18Speaker 1: making two million dollars, it's like you have everything you
- 48:21Speaker 1: fucking need. It's like, bro, we were in college and
- 48:23Speaker 1: we were getting more than the people before us. I'm
- 48:25Speaker 1: getting like an eight hundred and fifty dollars scholarship check
- 48:27Speaker 1: and I'm pocketing some at the end of every month.
- 48:30Speaker 1: To where you feel comfortable, to where it's safety you're
- 48:33Speaker 1: just all about ball and trying to get better at
- 48:35Speaker 1: your craft. I couldn't imagine making the money that these
- 48:38Speaker 1: kids are making now. And again, I understand that there's
- 48:42Speaker 1: business to me to be made and money to be
- 48:44Speaker 1: capitalized on. But if you're a good player, and you
- 48:46Speaker 1: can be a player that plays at the next level,
- 48:48Speaker 1: and you're in a good spot, and you're at a
- 48:50Speaker 1: good college, and you have everything around you that you
- 48:52Speaker 1: need to be successful, all the resources important to your craft, Like,
- 48:55Speaker 1: you're not at a school where it's a stepping stone.
- 48:57Speaker 1: You're not at a D one double A or a
- 48:58Speaker 1: lower tier D one school where it's like, hey, you
- 49:01Speaker 1: might have you might have pushed the boundaries and got
- 49:03Speaker 1: as much as you can out of that. Now you're
- 49:05Speaker 1: set up to go to a bigger school to play
- 49:06Speaker 1: on a bigger stage. Like, you're not in that situation.
- 49:08Speaker 1: You're in a situation where you're very well compensated to
- 49:11Speaker 1: be as good of a quarterback as you can be.
- 49:13Speaker 1: And whether or not you've lost town, it's like, man,
- 49:15Speaker 1: make the guys around you better. How can you expand
- 49:17Speaker 1: your leadership? How can you expand your command of the offense,
- 49:19Speaker 1: your communication? You're throwing all that different stuff. It just
- 49:23Speaker 1: it blows my mind. Man, I hate to see it.
- 49:25Speaker 1: Good to continue to be that way.
- 49:27Speaker 6: Matt Rule, I think, had a really good comment on
- 49:29Speaker 6: this whole thing. He talked about you can't fault the
- 49:31Speaker 6: guy for leaving if the choice, if the reason why
- 49:34Speaker 6: he's leaving is for the right reasons, Like he's at Temple,
- 49:37Speaker 6: he chose to lead Temple, to go to Baylor, he
- 49:39Speaker 6: chose lee Baylor to go to Carolina, making these decisions
- 49:42Speaker 6: to take the next progression in his career. Then, but
- 49:46Speaker 6: you look at Nico and he's at you know, a
- 49:49Speaker 6: top program in all of college football, with all the
- 49:51Speaker 6: resources you could possibly have around him, with you know,
- 49:54Speaker 6: guys like Peyton Mannihoor in that building consistently, with the
- 49:57Speaker 6: best coaches, with the best train coaches, like you have
- 49:59Speaker 6: every everything you need. The next step should be the NFL.
- 50:03Speaker 3: As long as your fair range is getting hit, which.
- 50:05Speaker 6: Your fair range, and it's like just hit the middle.
- 50:09Speaker 6: And I know it sounds it kind of sounds selfish
- 50:11Speaker 6: of us to be like, you don't need all this money,
- 50:13Speaker 6: because yeah, he could essentially get hurt and never play
- 50:16Speaker 6: another snap in his entire life. That's the kind of
- 50:18Speaker 6: game you you live with here, But like two and
- 50:22Speaker 6: a half million dollars in college for me just seems
- 50:24Speaker 6: insane because you said eight fifty I was making twelve
- 50:27Speaker 6: fifty bags, but like, I mean, twelve hundred and fifty dollars,
- 50:31Speaker 6: twelve hundred and fifty dollars felt like every dollar you
- 50:35Speaker 6: possibly needed in college. You had a fifty cc scooter,
- 50:38Speaker 6: you ripped it, you spent two hundred dollars at the
- 50:39Speaker 6: bar that weekend. Yeah, and then you're like, holy shit,
- 50:41Speaker 6: I gotta make this work for the entire month. But
- 50:43Speaker 6: everybody's on that same plane. I cannot imagine. Could you
- 50:46Speaker 6: imagine going to Botpolini and being like I need more? No,
- 50:49Speaker 6: I can't if I walked to Brady Brady Hok and
- 50:53Speaker 6: Rich Rodriguez after you know, my freshman year of starting
- 50:56Speaker 6: and being like, listen, I want X, Y and Z.
- 51:00Speaker 6: I don't have the fucking stones for that.
- 51:02Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 51:02Speaker 6: I had a hard time in a contract negotiations. The
- 51:05Speaker 6: agents do the whole thing.
- 51:06Speaker 3: Yeah, because the GM I'm just the one that's winning
- 51:09Speaker 3: this thing.
- 51:10Speaker 6: Yeah, because they're taking like twenty percent.
- 51:13Speaker 12: Yeah, it's just nutsman, And it's it sucks, man, it's
- 51:16Speaker 12: not this shit on a school like UCLA, but that
- 51:20Speaker 12: is like the top target that they're saying Nico may
- 51:23Speaker 12: Land at.
- 51:24Speaker 10: But you do not know what you got till it's gone.
- 51:27Speaker 10: With like leaving Tennessee to go to UCLA and getting
- 51:31Speaker 10: to experience that home crowd in Knoxville against Alabama, like
- 51:36Speaker 10: that is not everywhere.
- 51:38Speaker 3: You don't just have these sellout crowds and you're playing
- 51:41Speaker 3: against the best.
- 51:41Speaker 10: You're playing against the best.
- 51:43Speaker 3: UCLA stadiums are.
- 51:45Speaker 10: Half the time, you know, half empty.
- 51:48Speaker 3: Uh, there's the other team.
- 51:50Speaker 10: Yeah, and they're playing against these great schools in the
- 51:53Speaker 10: Big ten that they're kind of getting trounced most of
- 51:55Speaker 10: the time. And it's like, was that worth an extra
- 51:58Speaker 10: because they'll probably you know, whatever he is getting at
- 52:01Speaker 10: Tennessee or it's not a little bit more. It's like
- 52:04Speaker 10: is that worth it to know.
- 52:06Speaker 1: Because you'll you'll be hearing people, you know, schools make
- 52:08Speaker 1: billion or like all this money and coaches leave and
- 52:11Speaker 1: to me, like it's like ballplayers who talk about that,
- 52:13Speaker 1: I feel like they tasted something. They tasted a bitter
- 52:15Speaker 1: part of the business to whether they just want the
- 52:17Speaker 1: athlete to maximize as much as they can. It's like, oh,
- 52:20Speaker 1: coaches get to leave, coaches get to do this. It's
- 52:22Speaker 1: like getting to listen to even coach Landing like some
- 52:25Speaker 1: of these coaches, it's like the grind that they get
- 52:27Speaker 1: to to where they get positioned that way. But even
- 52:28Speaker 1: when they're at a spot, everybody's so committed to the
- 52:32Speaker 1: excellence there until you get to the offseason or until
- 52:34Speaker 1: something happens. It feels like in Nico's world things were
- 52:37Speaker 1: even unfolding in the middle of the season, which again
- 52:40Speaker 1: that goes to the structure in the leadership of the
- 52:41Speaker 1: NCAA because there are no guidelines right now. But it's
- 52:44Speaker 1: like that mentality is not going to it's not a
- 52:47Speaker 1: successful approach to have, like it's sustainable everything.
- 52:51Speaker 6: Yeah, that's gonna that. I'll come back to bite them
- 52:54Speaker 6: in the ass. He might get paid, he might go
- 52:56Speaker 6: to UCLA, Like I hope you like, no disrespect to
- 52:58Speaker 6: the UCLA Bruins, but like that's not a program that
- 53:01Speaker 6: comes close to Tennessee, not even.
- 53:03Speaker 1: Close beat us last year too, forgot at the moment,
- 53:09Speaker 1: we'll get there, we'll get we'll get our lick back
- 53:11Speaker 1: this year.
- 53:12Speaker 9: You see this news with Nico, and then you like
- 53:15Speaker 9: starts on what like Thursday or Friday, and for them
- 53:18Speaker 9: to act like we talked about, act quickly and making
- 53:21Speaker 9: their decision Hype and Tennessee. But then the next day,
- 53:24Speaker 9: how many quarterbacks around the country hit the transfer portal.
- 53:27Speaker 9: It's like all the ones that are like, oh, maybe
- 53:30Speaker 9: I'll go out there and maybe play at Tennessee. Like
- 53:32Speaker 9: Florida State's quarterbacks in the portal right now. So it'll
- 53:35Speaker 9: be interesting what happens throughout this week and how fast.
- 53:40Speaker 6: For sure, long term, no doubt about it.
- 53:44Speaker 9: You might go get like a freshman with four years
- 53:46Speaker 9: of eligibility who's a stud, and then like what Jack
- 53:50Speaker 9: was saying is like get through this year and then
- 53:53Speaker 9: next year you have two quarterbacks that are dueling it
- 53:56Speaker 9: out that are like good quarterbacks. But it'll be interesting.
- 54:00Speaker 9: I wonder how fast the decision will be made on
- 54:01Speaker 9: either side, Nico, Tennessee, whatever it is.
- 54:04Speaker 6: I think the sixteenth, yeah, two days. Yeah, that's gonna
- 54:12Speaker 6: be a crazy nine days.
- 54:14Speaker 1: Portal opens up just so random random random. Yeah, man,
- 54:22Speaker 1: you got the winter window, which is crazy. It's like
- 54:24Speaker 1: that's right before the playoffs even start.
- 54:26Speaker 6: That should be it should be after the playoffs. You
- 54:29Speaker 6: should be after the playoffs. And yeah they should have
- 54:33Speaker 6: I mean college football scheduling in general, like it should
- 54:36Speaker 6: end January first, like play your championship weekend and then
- 54:39Speaker 6: play the playoffs the next week, have your bye week
- 54:42Speaker 6: and then go and then Jade one.
- 54:44Speaker 1: You just gotta start structuring it at like such a
- 54:46Speaker 1: professional level.
- 54:47Speaker 6: Yeah, you kind of have to, because it is kind
- 54:49Speaker 6: of just a bunch of puzzle pieces that don't fit
- 54:50Speaker 6: together right now. You need you need a little bit
- 54:53Speaker 6: more balance. And then what is the NCAA anymore? What
- 54:56Speaker 6: because we we couldn't have these guys?
- 55:00Speaker 3: You get pay job.
- 55:00Speaker 6: Break down too, Yeah, pays a stud stud Other news
- 55:08Speaker 6: college football? Was it Kiren Lacy? Unfortunately it sounds like
- 55:14Speaker 6: guy from a gunshot, self inflicted wound.
- 55:16Speaker 3: The guy.
- 55:17Speaker 6: This kid had a lot of advert a lot of
- 55:18Speaker 6: things happening he I think he was possibly involved in
- 55:21Speaker 6: a hit and run, a lot of things coming down
- 55:24Speaker 6: his pipe. We I don't know the full story. I
- 55:26Speaker 6: will say this like whoever knew him personally, his family
- 55:30Speaker 6: loved ones. I hope they're doing alright, and we're thinking
- 55:32Speaker 6: about you, because that is it's hard. I mean his teammates,
- 55:35Speaker 6: everyone's everyone who he's been around with is being affected
- 55:38Speaker 6: by that right now. It's tough for college football, and uh,
- 55:41Speaker 6: it's just important. It's important that we focus on the
- 55:43Speaker 6: guy's mental health. We focus on guys being responsible and
- 55:46Speaker 6: you know this nil stuff like if you're gonna put
- 55:48Speaker 6: this much money in front of kids that are eighteen
- 55:50Speaker 6: to twenty two years old, like, let's put some good
- 55:52Speaker 6: guidelines and some good parental guidance around these kids to
- 55:55Speaker 6: make sure that they are taking the best step forward,
- 55:57Speaker 6: not only in the short term, the long term as well.
- 55:59Speaker 6: So heart goes out to them and their family.
- 56:01Speaker 1: Yeah, all right, Oregon Spring Tour, it was a blast shoutout,
- 56:07Speaker 1: no free shutout Spring Tour. Yeah, man, you know, I've
- 56:13Speaker 1: replayed that play in my head all weekend long, Like
- 56:17Speaker 1: I'll set up, you know, having had her in the
- 56:21Speaker 1: in the driveway and I was trying to teach her
- 56:22Speaker 1: how to hit me on an option route. I was
- 56:23Speaker 1: just trying to feel that moment again. What time a
- 56:29Speaker 1: man like I'm standing there with JP and the boys
- 56:32Speaker 1: right before talking about he's gonna want to beat me. Inside,
- 56:35Speaker 1: there's gonna be a crowd, there's these running backs. They
- 56:37Speaker 1: want to beat you across the face. I just have
- 56:39Speaker 1: to guess, and I'm gonna have to guess inside. And
- 56:41Speaker 1: the fact that I fold, I mean I folded, Like,
- 56:45Speaker 1: let's just call what it is. I melted under the lights.
- 56:49Speaker 3: Ran the flag out, ran the flag out. I was
- 56:52Speaker 3: feeling it.
- 56:52Speaker 1: The boys on defense are trapping me up, and I'm
- 56:55Speaker 1: thinking of my head, don't get beat inside. In the
- 56:57Speaker 1: moment he does, does a little short motion and he
- 57:00Speaker 1: starts approaching me, and I started approaching him. It's like
- 57:03Speaker 1: I folded, like there's no there's no running. From that
- 57:05Speaker 1: moment I folded, my legs got wide, I reached. I
- 57:08Speaker 1: didn't do anything that I was talking about doing, and
- 57:12Speaker 1: I did when I was bummed because I was hyped
- 57:18Speaker 1: and fucking make a play.
- 57:19Speaker 8: Are you going for redemption? And for the rest of
- 57:21Speaker 8: the spring tour?
- 57:22Speaker 3: Now I have to, you have to. But now I'm
- 57:25Speaker 3: thinking in my head, I'm overthinking.
- 57:26Speaker 1: I'm like, you know, if I'm gonna approach, if I'm
- 57:28Speaker 1: gonna do another one on one at Michigan, Like I'm
- 57:30Speaker 1: already thinking in my head, it's this kid watching tape. Ah,
- 57:32Speaker 1: we gets beat on the inside. He's probably gonna sit
- 57:34Speaker 1: heavy on the inside. Do I ride them up on
- 57:35Speaker 1: the outside now while I'm starting to think, Hey, you're
- 57:36Speaker 1: over there starting play different and.
- 57:37Speaker 6: You're getting the same position you were before. Paralysis by analysis. Yeah,
- 57:42Speaker 6: I don't want to beat a dead horser. But what
- 57:43Speaker 6: we talk about we were walking off the field. What
- 57:45Speaker 6: was I upset about?
- 57:46Speaker 3: I can't remember. I'll tell you, yeah, but I do
- 57:48Speaker 3: know it hit home. Take the coach, all.
- 57:50Speaker 6: Right, Take the coach because it's not about you getting beat,
- 57:52Speaker 6: it's about how you got beat. You said I had
- 57:55Speaker 6: a guess, correctly, but you did not guess. When we
- 57:58Speaker 6: go into Michigan Tour, we fly to michigan'm ahle, there'll
- 58:00Speaker 6: be a practice tomorrow. There will probably be an opportunity
- 58:02Speaker 6: for you to doing one on one. I don't give
- 58:03Speaker 6: a ship if this guy goes the inside and you
- 58:05Speaker 6: jump to the outside. I don't want you to make
- 58:07Speaker 6: a fast decision. That's all I care.
- 58:09Speaker 3: You can coach fast decisions, yeah, yeah.
- 58:11Speaker 6: You can coach fast decisions, But when you freeze out, no,
- 58:14Speaker 6: we can't do it. You can't do it. And I
- 58:17Speaker 6: think it's gonna go a lot better for you in Michigan.
- 58:19Speaker 6: I think it is.
- 58:20Speaker 3: I'm ready. I know all I've been thinking about. How's about.
- 58:25Speaker 3: I'm starting to feel it. I'm starting to feel I'm
- 58:26Speaker 3: starting to feel back.
- 58:27Speaker 6: Then or worse.
- 58:29Speaker 3: No, it doesn't feel good.
- 58:30Speaker 8: Okay, we're gonna have like twenty five spring tour stops
- 58:33Speaker 8: for Will to Yeah.
- 58:35Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm just gonna have to start traveling the country.
- 58:42Speaker 9: Dude.
- 58:42Speaker 6: Yeah that was you look cool though.
- 58:45Speaker 3: I felt good, you look cool. I felt ready.
- 58:48Speaker 6: We gotta get your dark visor. We gotta get your
- 58:50Speaker 6: dark visor in Michigan, Texas. So I will say this
- 58:53Speaker 6: about Organ, I don't know if you can beat the
- 58:56Speaker 6: access that Oregon gave us. I don't know if it's
- 58:58Speaker 6: even possible when with Michigan and Nebraska. I did send
- 59:02Speaker 6: a couple of videos a day Aboutraska, and I just said, listen,
- 59:06Speaker 6: they opened they opened the doors for us. I can't
- 59:08Speaker 6: wait to see what Michigan does. He sparted and said
- 59:12Speaker 6: what size do you and Will wear? So, and then
- 59:15Speaker 6: he talks about a cheerleading out there for Will.
- 59:17Speaker 8: So he's aware of a possible one on one.
- 59:20Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 59:20Speaker 6: I I told him I want the one on one.
- 59:21Speaker 6: I told him I want the Bryce Underwood Quarterback Challenge.
- 59:25Speaker 6: I said, I basically just said, this is what we did.
- 59:28Speaker 6: We want to do this and we'll see what there was.
- 59:32Speaker 1: There was a one on one I did win that week.
- 59:36Speaker 6: That now you're talking about after seven hours in the car,
- 59:40Speaker 6: on a plane, out of the car and it was
- 59:45Speaker 6: a run fit. But yeah, you got me.
- 59:52Speaker 3: Here we go.
- 59:53Speaker 6: You got me man, and I will get mine before
- 59:55Speaker 6: it's all over.
- 59:57Speaker 1: Yeah, Marcus Dead interview drop next week. These two with
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: coach Lanning Marcus coming out next week. Awesome conversations, incredible
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: and again shout out to Oregon and the back problems
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: more so come from working out with the team on
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: that first day, like getting mixed up with the boys.
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: They weren't necessarily doing a recovery work out. They were
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: doing it let's get right work out. Yeah, yeah, I
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: was in there. What was Bryce's last name, Betcher? Bulldog?
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: He is a bulldog. Yeah, a specimen. You're trying to
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: keep up. There's one time where it's like, hey, I
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: need to take off this forty five Like the low Banks,
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: I am starting to feel it a little bit.
- 1:00:28Speaker 3: Due he was all about it. You were on some
- 1:00:30Speaker 3: that they're they're an awesome football team.
- 1:00:32Speaker 6: Awesome football team. I will say I have never experienced
- 1:00:36Speaker 6: an offensive line the way I experienced the one organ
- 1:00:39Speaker 6: the camaraderie, the vibes, the energy circle, the love circle. Yeah,
- 1:00:43Speaker 6: they finished or walk through practice of the coaches like, hey,
- 1:00:45Speaker 6: come coming in to our love circle. I'm thinking, what
- 1:00:47Speaker 6: the fuck am I about to walk into? They all
- 1:00:49Speaker 6: just dab each other up. Every single one of them
- 1:00:51Speaker 6: have their own handshake and they all just sit there
- 1:00:53Speaker 6: like yo. Basically just tell each other, they love each other,
- 1:00:56Speaker 6: just compliment each other, Yes, compliment each other. I go
- 1:00:58Speaker 6: in the meeting room and the coach is talking to
- 1:01:01Speaker 6: them and there's like players having conversation during the coach talking.
- 1:01:04Speaker 6: And I'm thinking to myself, like my like where I
- 1:01:07Speaker 6: come from back in my day. You talk in the corner,
- 1:01:09Speaker 6: You're getting your ass ripped. And it's just one fluid conversation.
- 1:01:13Speaker 6: The boys are all dialed in. I will say, Landing's like, hey,
- 1:01:16Speaker 6: we got this kid, Isaiah Worlds. You know, the strength
- 1:01:19Speaker 6: coach comes in, which, by the way, the strength coach
- 1:01:21Speaker 6: at Oregon he needs his own fucking movie. Ah, I
- 1:01:27Speaker 6: I love this shit. Yeah, but uh, They're like, hey,
- 1:01:30Speaker 6: we're gonna have you work out this Isaiah World's kid, like,
- 1:01:32Speaker 6: you know, small ankles, big frame, blah blah blah. They're
- 1:01:34Speaker 6: kind of hyping this cap. I'm thinking of myself, buddy,
- 1:01:36Speaker 6: I'm to sixty, Like these cats are sixty pounds more
- 1:01:40Speaker 6: than me. I went there, I threw some weight around.
- 1:01:43Speaker 3: I th that weight around.
- 1:01:44Speaker 6: I do some weight Around'll let them know who's who.
- 1:01:46Speaker 6: I might be thirty three, but I might still got
- 1:01:48Speaker 6: it up top definitely, not below.
- 1:01:50Speaker 3: Definitely. The dude.
- 1:01:51Speaker 8: They were asking Taylor a lot of questions too, which
- 1:01:53Speaker 8: is cool.
- 1:01:53Speaker 6: Dude's so curious those guys. Yeah, yeah, how They're like
- 1:01:57Speaker 6: how did you do this or that? Like even when
- 1:01:59Speaker 6: we're at practice the next.
- 1:02:00Speaker 2: Day, dude, hey what do you do here?
- 1:02:02Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 1:02:02Speaker 6: How do you get out of your set faster? And
- 1:02:04Speaker 6: which I loved that question too because I had myself
- 1:02:06Speaker 6: a couple of little nuggets.
- 1:02:08Speaker 7: You can see you were you were dialed in when
- 1:02:11Speaker 7: it comes to like actual like hey, how do you
- 1:02:14Speaker 7: do with your feet kind of thing like you were
- 1:02:16Speaker 7: to see this is what I did, And then you
- 1:02:17Speaker 7: can like the players being so locked in on you
- 1:02:19Speaker 7: was actually like really cool one.
- 1:02:21Speaker 6: But I got like multiple damns from those guys just
- 1:02:22Speaker 6: being like, hey, I appreciate you just coming out and
- 1:02:24Speaker 6: helping us out like it is. And then we I mean,
- 1:02:27Speaker 6: we just have the conversation about Nico, right and that
- 1:02:29Speaker 6: when it went and then you go to Orgon and
- 1:02:31Speaker 6: these kids are like hungry for knowledge. Their culture is
- 1:02:34Speaker 6: incredible at organ So yeah, that that was. It was
- 1:02:38Speaker 6: cool to sit there and I told them all. I
- 1:02:39Speaker 6: was like, listen, you have to know your body type,
- 1:02:41Speaker 6: you have to know your strengths. These are my strengths.
- 1:02:43Speaker 6: This is what I did to like, you know, highlight
- 1:02:46Speaker 6: those a little bit. It might not be for you,
- 1:02:48Speaker 6: but this is what I did. And they were about it. Bro,
- 1:02:50Speaker 6: it was awesome. I heard you had a nine minute speech.
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, I was starting to get in a ted
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: talk range.
- 1:02:57Speaker 11: Kind of fucked up what they did to you?
- 1:02:59Speaker 3: No is necessary necessary? Oh buddy? Yeah. Like I'm sitting
- 1:03:04Speaker 3: there and I'm watching them.
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: Their eyes are locked on and you get to where
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: you're just not thinking about where you're going in the speech.
- 1:03:11Speaker 3: What do you got jp?
- 1:03:14Speaker 6: The whispers in the back.
- 1:03:15Speaker 8: Sometimes you don't want to know this, you don't want
- 1:03:17Speaker 8: to know this. We're not going to say.
- 1:03:19Speaker 6: Did you did you film his speech?
- 1:03:21Speaker 8: Oh yeah, I filmed it. It's in the vlog. I'm
- 1:03:22Speaker 8: trying to figure out. I'm trying to figure out right
- 1:03:27Speaker 8: now if it's nine minutes, if we need it to
- 1:03:29Speaker 8: be nine minutes in the V cut it down? Yeah,
- 1:03:32Speaker 8: I cut it down.
- 1:03:34Speaker 3: I'll tell you what.
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: There's something you have some fun edisode down there with
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: the with the calculator approach.
- 1:03:39Speaker 3: I just got to dial in my points.
- 1:03:41Speaker 8: Oh no, that was great, and I mean truly like
- 1:03:43Speaker 8: it is. It's tough to cut down because you were
- 1:03:45Speaker 8: hitting so many great points. The only parts that got
- 1:03:50Speaker 8: long was just when you went back into the install
- 1:03:53Speaker 8: because you're like, this is the install, y'all need to
- 1:03:55Speaker 8: know YadA, YadA, YadA, hammered down the point. I'm like, dang,
- 1:03:58Speaker 8: he just crushed it.
- 1:04:00Speaker 3: Now.
- 1:04:00Speaker 8: When I was doing it, I was like.
- 1:04:02Speaker 3: Oh, sah, sh here we go landing him with this.
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: When Landing hit me with that, I was starting to
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: go into my weekly breakdown, like.
- 1:04:09Speaker 3: My structure of the week, like how do y'all watch films?
- 1:04:12Speaker 8: Far Landing told him to wrap it up. Coach, you
- 1:04:15Speaker 8: got something.
- 1:04:17Speaker 3: He's got a big smile.
- 1:04:18Speaker 6: He's like, you got a job.
- 1:04:20Speaker 3: To do. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I was.
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: Like, oh, okay, but the piece we want war Okay.
- 1:04:27Speaker 6: Hey, how much of a homie is Landing?
- 1:04:29Speaker 3: Dude? He's the best. He's the best.
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: There are people there all around, not just Landing, all
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: of them very accommodation.
- 1:04:34Speaker 8: Treated the boys well, Marshall, Marshall Tyler.
- 1:04:38Speaker 3: Yeah, just the homies.
- 1:04:41Speaker 6: What a squad man.
- 1:04:42Speaker 3: Boys.
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: We interrupt this episode to ask you. I have a
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: simple question for you. Are you fumbling the ball when
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: it comes to getting a confident clean back in your
- 1:04:48Speaker 1: end zone? Make the right play call, call an audible
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: and switch from dry toilet paper to wet extra large
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: dude wipes. Why it's simple. Wetter just cleans better. Dude
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: wipes are wet and extra large, so they cleared. They clear,
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: never smear your rear. So when you got to go
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: number two, be sure to bring the number one product
- 1:05:08Speaker 1: in clean Dude Wipes, the goat of cleaning your keyster.
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: Available on Amazon and at Walmart nationwide. Dude Wipes best
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: clean pants down.
- 1:05:18Speaker 6: Let's hit shout out, no for shot out, Let's bookie.
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: My shout out, no free shout out. This week is
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: going to go to have I shout at this out
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: before late night gas station trips. They are hitters. Like
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: after the kids get put down, I go down a
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: look at my wife. I'm gonna go hit the gas station.
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: If it's a weekend, you get you a tall Boy
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: bud light. But if it's a weekday, if it's a
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: school night, I'm locked in on the bay coconut drinks.
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: But you just take a nice little, you know, break
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: to where you go drive to the gas station at
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: stark out, you're listening to some tunes.
- 1:05:47Speaker 3: You might call.
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: You might call your dad or brother or somebody on
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: the way home and catch up with somebody. But late
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: night gas trips, that's a good one out of the playbook.
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: If your dad out there, I love it.
- 1:05:57Speaker 6: Shout out, no free shout out. Houseful of kids, not
- 1:06:01Speaker 6: just your kids. But when like Will came over this
- 1:06:04Speaker 6: weekend on Saturday and Rue and Scotty were over here playing.
- 1:06:07Speaker 6: Scotty was kind of just laying there, but you know
- 1:06:08Speaker 6: I was Ru was playing, and then the neighbor girl
- 1:06:11Speaker 6: she comes over, and the mom comes over and I'm
- 1:06:14Speaker 6: just kind of sitting in the living room. I look
- 1:06:16Speaker 6: at it, well, I'm like, hey, this is what this
- 1:06:17Speaker 6: is kind of what it's all about. And you see
- 1:06:19Speaker 6: you're just hearing all these noises of laughter. Maybe a
- 1:06:22Speaker 6: little fight's going on over here. One kid's trying to
- 1:06:24Speaker 6: get your attention. You're like, okay, how do I divert
- 1:06:25Speaker 6: them back to the kids? But like they're all just
- 1:06:28Speaker 6: having such a great time. And that was like I
- 1:06:30Speaker 6: was sitting there like, man, I feel like I'm doing
- 1:06:32Speaker 6: something right having a household like this. So shout out
- 1:06:36Speaker 6: houseful kids, anybody any other shoutouts.
- 1:06:40Speaker 8: Kind of off your shout out, no free shoutouts to
- 1:06:41Speaker 8: gas stations that carry the limited edition drink flavors of
- 1:06:45Speaker 8: whatever brand we're talking about. Because I went into Casey's
- 1:06:49Speaker 8: fifty first. The selection was so incredible. They had these
- 1:06:53Speaker 8: three gatorades I had never seen before. They had an
- 1:06:56Speaker 8: orange lemon lime combo flavor. They had a mind ice,
- 1:07:01Speaker 8: and they had some this third one that I never had.
- 1:07:04Speaker 8: And when I go to the gas station, I love
- 1:07:06Speaker 8: trying new things, and a lot of times a lot
- 1:07:08Speaker 8: of the gas stations don't have new things, but Caseyes did.
- 1:07:12Speaker 8: So shout out to gas stations with the plug with
- 1:07:15Speaker 8: these places and got some good pizza. They have a
- 1:07:18Speaker 8: great it was just a great, overall great experience. Yeah,
- 1:07:21Speaker 8: the icys were incredible too.
- 1:07:22Speaker 3: I got an icy Midwest.
- 1:07:27Speaker 6: Shout out ever shut out.
- 1:07:28Speaker 11: Obviously got a shout out Tennessee Balls and Josh Haipel,
- 1:07:30Speaker 11: but my main shout out is Ta Chiba hud Oh.
- 1:07:33Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:07:34Speaker 11: Yeah, a really great sandwich spot that apparently is a
- 1:07:37Speaker 11: chain and we have one or Nashville, but the boys
- 1:07:40Speaker 11: said it twice in a row, uh in Oregon. It's
- 1:07:42Speaker 11: actually the reason that me, JP and Mitch did not
- 1:07:45Speaker 11: make our flight home, but absolutely worth it. And dude,
- 1:07:49Speaker 11: just shout outs to a good sandwich. I've shouted that
- 1:07:52Speaker 11: out before and I'll do it all day long. Sandwiches
- 1:07:54Speaker 11: are my favorite food.
- 1:07:55Speaker 6: So sandwiches is number one.
- 1:07:56Speaker 11: Man just has to be.
- 1:07:58Speaker 7: But yeah, the walls, I'll shout out, no free shout out,
- 1:08:04Speaker 7: just imprompt tuo plans. Last weekend, I was out with
- 1:08:09Speaker 7: one of my buddies and he's and I've said it before,
- 1:08:11Speaker 7: I'm like training for a triathlon in June and i
- 1:08:15Speaker 7: haven't really started running yet, and my buddy was like, Hey,
- 1:08:17Speaker 7: there's a five k like this coming Saturday. You want
- 1:08:20Speaker 7: to do it? And I was like, not really, but
- 1:08:22Speaker 7: I will So I ran a five k Saturday morning.
- 1:08:25Speaker 7: It's kind of sucked. I ran, like my pace was
- 1:08:28Speaker 7: like a nine minute mile, not at all where I.
- 1:08:30Speaker 3: Wanted to be, But I think that's strong.
- 1:08:33Speaker 7: At the end of it, I was like, you know what,
- 1:08:35Speaker 7: that kind of sucked to do, but like that was
- 1:08:38Speaker 7: it was fun, it was cool. So shout out like
- 1:08:40Speaker 7: imprompt two plans and just kind of all right, yeah,
- 1:08:42Speaker 7: I'll do.
- 1:08:42Speaker 3: It from not running, I think it's a strong start.
- 1:08:48Speaker 7: My goal was to not stop and walk at all,
- 1:08:53Speaker 7: and there were times where I'm like, I just want
- 1:08:55Speaker 7: to walk right now. But I ran the entire time.
- 1:08:57Speaker 7: I wasn't really running all that fast given my time,
- 1:08:59Speaker 7: but I have I have a starting point and it's
- 1:09:03Speaker 7: just gonna get shorter from there.
- 1:09:04Speaker 10: So it shout out no free shout out movie theater dinners.
- 1:09:11Speaker 10: Going to a movie on an empty stomach and just
- 1:09:14Speaker 10: housing a large popcorn. Maybe you get the hot dog,
- 1:09:18Speaker 10: maybe you get the nachos. I personally like to throw
- 1:09:21Speaker 10: a little jalapino uh peppers on top of the popcorn.
- 1:09:27Speaker 10: It's just so freaking good.
- 1:09:29Speaker 3: Dude, did you and I see the cat slurpy?
- 1:09:31Speaker 10: Oh yeah, dude. Well and I was shipping the whole movie.
- 1:09:34Speaker 10: That's a whole other story. I'm divorced now. I got
- 1:09:38Speaker 10: hit up Sydney Sweeney. Shout out, dude wipes, but yeah,
- 1:09:44Speaker 10: shout out, no free shout out.
- 1:09:46Speaker 3: We beat theater dinners. Nice.
- 1:09:50Speaker 9: I'll hit a little shout out, no free shout out.
- 1:09:51Speaker 9: Happened yesterday. I went to uh, one of our friends
- 1:09:55Speaker 9: one year old's birthday party. Uh walk in by myself,
- 1:10:00Speaker 9: look around him like, I don't know anyone here. There's
- 1:10:03Speaker 9: tons of kids like I. This situation sucks when you're
- 1:10:07Speaker 9: just kind of floating by yourself. Everyone's in a conversation.
- 1:10:10Speaker 9: But walked out to the back. All of the dads
- 1:10:14Speaker 9: and other men at the birthday party are in the
- 1:10:16Speaker 9: back watching the masters, and so I just wheezed my
- 1:10:19Speaker 9: way through. Say hello to the host, Happy birthday.
- 1:10:22Speaker 3: Little dude.
- 1:10:23Speaker 9: Lock in with the fellas in the back, have a

- 1:10:37Speaker 9: going on, and you just kind of hide in the
- 1:10:40Speaker 9: corner watch sports Yeah, let's fucking go. It was terrifying.
- 1:10:44Speaker 9: Walked in was like, oh shit, I'm gonna have to
- 1:10:47Speaker 9: talk to people.
- 1:10:48Speaker 6: Yeah, so what do you do?

- 1:11:46Speaker 6: else I have to read. Let's get this interview started.
- 1:11:48Speaker 2: Coach Lanny, how are you fantastic? Yeah, yeah, doing great.
- 1:11:52Speaker 6: You're putting us on game a second ago. You're talking
- 1:11:54Speaker 6: about this book, the Game.
- 1:11:55Speaker 2: Yeah, you need to read it. Yeah, need to read
- 1:11:57Speaker 2: the game.
- 1:11:57Speaker 6: And it applies to life, relationships, recruiting, the whole thing,
- 1:12:02Speaker 6: all of it.
- 1:12:03Speaker 2: You need to check it out.
- 1:12:03Speaker 6: So there's a little sandwich technique in ball. I feel
- 1:12:05Speaker 6: like you're a little hesitant to talk about.
- 1:12:08Speaker 2: Offscript script there is.
- 1:12:10Speaker 13: That's the thing that a book called the Game. I
- 1:12:12Speaker 13: don't get to use it. I'm happily married.
- 1:12:14Speaker 6: Happily married. Hope you can use in other parts of
- 1:12:16Speaker 6: your life. Recruiting. When it comes to recruiting. First off,
- 1:12:21Speaker 6: facility is incredible, Like I want to.
- 1:12:23Speaker 2: Get only getting better. You saw there's some building going
- 1:12:24Speaker 2: over there.
- 1:12:25Speaker 6: Half a billy out there in the back door, just
- 1:12:27Speaker 6: getting all strung up right, night shout out, fill night shadowing, hike.
- 1:12:31Speaker 6: But obviously I want to get into the day. I
- 1:12:34Speaker 6: want to get into the process. You being as inviting
- 1:12:35Speaker 6: as you have been. But when it comes to like
- 1:12:37Speaker 6: recruits and getting guys to travel into it basically a
- 1:12:40Speaker 6: secluded area, Like it's once once you guys get you
- 1:12:44Speaker 6: guys in this building, it's like, it's very obvious how
- 1:12:45Speaker 6: you get these types of recruits. How do you get
- 1:12:47Speaker 6: these guys to come from? You know, the southeast area?
- 1:12:51Speaker 6: Come over the nornybody. Travel yesterday it was actually twelve
- 1:12:55Speaker 6: Like we didn't get to be left at what twelve
- 1:12:58Speaker 6: o'clock and didn't get to a hotel and till eleven
- 1:13:00Speaker 6: Pacific time.
- 1:13:01Speaker 2: Yeah, you guys picked the wrong flight picked.
- 1:13:04Speaker 13: But what I'll tell you is in that moment, that
- 1:13:06Speaker 13: time you're traveling, what built up the anticipation the whole
- 1:13:10Speaker 13: time you're sitting here saying how good is this about
- 1:13:12Speaker 13: to be? And you get here, how's it been?
- 1:13:14Speaker 3: It has been incredible?
- 1:13:15Speaker 2: Elite, it's elite.
- 1:13:16Speaker 13: And I always talk to guys in recruiting, and it's
- 1:13:18Speaker 13: really simple. Am I picking best or am I picking
- 1:13:20Speaker 13: most convenient?
- 1:13:21Speaker 2: Right? If it's about most convenient?
- 1:13:23Speaker 13: Right, I'm from Missouri, you're fro MISSOI you would have
- 1:13:24Speaker 13: been to the southeast Missouri, right, Like it's not about
- 1:13:27Speaker 13: most convenient. Right, you would have been over there at
- 1:13:29Speaker 13: Arizona State, who knows what it would have looked like.
- 1:13:31Speaker 13: It's about picking best, and what Oregon provides is one
- 1:13:34Speaker 13: of the best opportunities in the nation to get developed,
- 1:13:37Speaker 13: get recruited, to be a part of a program that's unbelievable,
- 1:13:39Speaker 13: and that's what we look for. It's not about the easiest,
- 1:13:42Speaker 13: it's about the one that makes the most sense.
- 1:13:44Speaker 6: He's good, he's sold. You can tell he looks in
- 1:13:46Speaker 6: the mirror. He has his whole entire script.
- 1:13:49Speaker 1: Not a script, but he just he believes he's convicted
- 1:13:51Speaker 1: in is in what he's saying.
- 1:13:52Speaker 2: Yeah, I believe in this place, that's for sure.
- 1:13:54Speaker 6: One thing I've noticed. I mean, you give us the
- 1:13:57Speaker 6: opportunity to go sit in some meetings, and I sat off.
- 1:14:00Speaker 6: It's a line meeting room and the coach is talking
- 1:14:01Speaker 6: to the players like people. Very rarely in my career
- 1:14:05Speaker 6: did I ever get spoken to like a human being.
- 1:14:07Speaker 6: It was like, what the fuck are you doing? Like,
- 1:14:10Speaker 6: obviously this is the technique. What do you have on
- 1:14:11Speaker 6: this pision? No, that's not the verbs we use. We
- 1:14:13Speaker 6: use this for bage. It seemed like like everyone was
- 1:14:16Speaker 6: just having a conversation while figuring out the details of
- 1:14:19Speaker 6: what went wrong and how they could do better. Is
- 1:14:21Speaker 6: that something you preach to your coaching staff, because it
- 1:14:23Speaker 6: feels like when I walked in, there are some guys
- 1:14:25Speaker 6: like talking in the corner, some older cats, and I'm
- 1:14:27Speaker 6: thinking of myself, you're about to your ass trued out,
- 1:14:29Speaker 6: and he was like, you guys are anything? You're like, yeah,
- 1:14:30Speaker 6: we're just talking about this, And it just seemed like
- 1:14:33Speaker 6: the back and forth between coach and player seem more
- 1:14:36Speaker 6: like an equal level as opposed to this total pool
- 1:14:38Speaker 6: of like I'm better than you. I'm the coach.
- 1:14:39Speaker 2: No man, how many snaps am I going to play
- 1:14:41Speaker 2: for organ next year?
- 1:14:42Speaker 3: Zero?
- 1:14:43Speaker 13: Doesn't matter what I know. It's about what your players
- 1:14:45Speaker 13: know and what they can execute. So, you know, there's
- 1:14:47Speaker 13: a lot of negatives this around what people talk about
- 1:14:50Speaker 13: like the portal and how that exists. The truth is
- 1:14:52Speaker 13: the portal is revealing a lot of character of programs, right,
- 1:14:55Speaker 13: and here you have a relationship with your coach.
- 1:14:57Speaker 2: There's connection.
- 1:14:57Speaker 13: You feel like you can talk to this guy about
- 1:15:00Speaker 13: stuff beyond football.
- 1:15:01Speaker 2: Right, And I think that relationship is really important.
- 1:15:03Speaker 13: It's not coach player, right, it's coach player, and that's
- 1:15:06Speaker 13: the guy that has to go execute. That means he
- 1:15:08Speaker 13: has to love the guy that he's playing for. He's
- 1:15:10Speaker 13: got to believe in what we're doing. How do you
- 1:15:11Speaker 13: create belief? Guys want to know the why today?
- 1:15:14Speaker 3: Right?
- 1:15:14Speaker 13: You know, twenty years ago we would have ran through
- 1:15:16Speaker 13: any wall whatever the coach said. And I'm not trying
- 1:15:18Speaker 13: to run gassers after practice because I did it wrong. Now,
- 1:15:20Speaker 13: it's not about like establishing fear. It's about just establishing
- 1:15:23Speaker 13: a true relationship of this guy's making me better. He's
- 1:15:26Speaker 13: making me improve and if I have a question, I
- 1:15:28Speaker 13: better ask it or I'm going to mess it up
- 1:15:30Speaker 13: on the field. And our guys they certainly feel that here.
- 1:15:33Speaker 1: How do you instill that culture like transitioning into this
- 1:15:35Speaker 1: NIL portal world where you've came from the Bamas, the
- 1:15:38Speaker 1: Georgia's and everything else, Like, how do you continue to
- 1:15:42Speaker 1: pour in the culture the way you want it done
- 1:15:44Speaker 1: while also knowing that it's like there's some cat and
- 1:15:47Speaker 1: mouse with the NIL stuff that happens.
- 1:15:48Speaker 3: It feels like twenty four to seven.
- 1:15:50Speaker 13: Yeah, it's all part of the deal. I think we're
- 1:15:51Speaker 13: just really open and talk to our players about it.
- 1:15:53Speaker 8: It.
- 1:15:54Speaker 13: Ultimately, to be a successful player, you better love football, right,
- 1:15:57Speaker 13: you better be infatuated process, and you can be unbelievably
- 1:16:00Speaker 13: taken care of in college and now in the pros
- 1:16:03Speaker 13: if you attack that every single day. But everybody comes
- 1:16:05Speaker 13: here with talent, right, what are those separating factors?
- 1:16:08Speaker 2: What makes you better right than the guy next to you?
- 1:16:10Speaker 13: And you know, we showed a clip of Gino the
- 1:16:12Speaker 13: other day, just wins this twelfth national championship, and he's
- 1:16:15Speaker 13: talking about the standard performance and what practice has to
- 1:16:18Speaker 13: look like to be able to compete at the highest
- 1:16:20Speaker 13: level in a championship, because what's gonna happen. That standard
- 1:16:22Speaker 13: in practice has to be here because you're gonna fall
- 1:16:24Speaker 13: down a little bit at the level of competition when
- 1:16:26Speaker 13: the pressure is so high. So if you practice here
- 1:16:28Speaker 13: all the time, you're never going to reach that standard.
- 1:16:30Speaker 13: You're never going to reach that level that you want
- 1:16:32Speaker 13: to be at on game day. I'm gonna turn it
- 1:16:34Speaker 13: on Saturday. It doesn't work like that. And our guys
- 1:16:36Speaker 13: have bought into that process. They've bought into wearing full
- 1:16:39Speaker 13: pads at practice, the thud and the tackling, you know,
- 1:16:41Speaker 13: to being physical, right, and you have to be in
- 1:16:44Speaker 13: level football to.
- 1:16:45Speaker 2: Be a part of that.
- 1:16:47Speaker 6: They bought in. But they they're in little groups, I promise, like, man,
- 1:16:50Speaker 6: we gotta go full pads again. Oh yeah, they say,
- 1:16:52Speaker 6: you're talking like what you get into once you get
- 1:16:54Speaker 6: into dog days of training camp, it's say, oh my god,
- 1:16:56Speaker 6: we really got to do this.
- 1:16:58Speaker 2: It takes what it takes.
- 1:16:59Speaker 6: It takes what it takes. But the NIL thing is
- 1:17:01Speaker 6: so interesting to me because we never had to deal
- 1:17:03Speaker 6: with any of that. I would have died if I
- 1:17:05Speaker 6: was even had the availability for NIL. And you also
- 1:17:08Speaker 6: talk about the player coach, was that always how you were,
- 1:17:11Speaker 6: how you operated with your players, or did the NIL
- 1:17:13Speaker 6: kind of change some things up where you're like you
- 1:17:15Speaker 6: kind of kind of massage a little thing for some
- 1:17:16Speaker 6: of these guys so they don't just run off to
- 1:17:18Speaker 6: the next bake, shiny thing.
- 1:17:19Speaker 3: Play the game.
- 1:17:20Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:17:20Speaker 13: I think something I learned early as it coaches that
- 1:17:23Speaker 13: every player is different.
- 1:17:25Speaker 3: Right.
- 1:17:25Speaker 13: I've been around coaches before says I'm gonna coach you
- 1:17:27Speaker 13: all the same, the same. Like the reality is you're
- 1:17:29Speaker 13: not getting the best out of player if you coach
- 1:17:30Speaker 13: everybody the same. So for me, again, I feel like
- 1:17:34Speaker 13: this world is kind of revealed character, not necessarily the
- 1:17:37Speaker 13: other way around.
- 1:17:38Speaker 2: And for me, I've always coached guys different.
- 1:17:40Speaker 13: I'd coach bon Nick's a little bit different than Dylan Gabriel, Right,
- 1:17:43Speaker 13: I coached Ted Johnson a little bit different than treyshon Holden.
- 1:17:46Speaker 13: I just think that's how you get the best out
- 1:17:47Speaker 13: of people, Right. Some guys you can confront right there
- 1:17:49Speaker 13: in front of them on the field, and we certainly
- 1:17:51Speaker 13: do that, right, those are the fun ones, right, and
- 1:17:53Speaker 13: then some guys you gotta put your arm around them,
- 1:17:54Speaker 13: and it looks a little bit different. I don't think
- 1:17:56Speaker 13: it's changed the way that we coach here. I think
- 1:17:59Speaker 13: it tighten the awareness of being prepared for the next moment,
- 1:18:02Speaker 13: like what could happen if.
- 1:18:04Speaker 2: This doesn't go right?
- 1:18:04Speaker 13: A guy had a bad day on the practice field, Okay,
- 1:18:06Speaker 13: what's your reaction as a coach, and trying to be
- 1:18:08Speaker 13: proactive rather than reactive.
- 1:18:10Speaker 3: In those moments.
- 1:18:11Speaker 1: Talking about being reactive and proactive take us into the
- 1:18:14Speaker 1: mental of Dan Lanning when you're down thirty four to
- 1:18:16Speaker 1: ten going and a half time against a whiles.
- 1:18:18Speaker 13: Ooh, tough man, tough, And I think the easy thing
- 1:18:23Speaker 13: in those moments, especially afterwards is like, let me make
- 1:18:26Speaker 13: excuses of why.
- 1:18:27Speaker 3: Right.
- 1:18:28Speaker 13: But if you're a growth mindset guy, right, if you're
- 1:18:30Speaker 13: wired like we are here to me, it's like, how
- 1:18:33Speaker 13: do I make sure this doesn't happen again?
- 1:18:35Speaker 3: Right?
- 1:18:35Speaker 13: You got to learn from that moment? Right, and as
- 1:18:37Speaker 13: rough as it is now. On the same note, in
- 1:18:39Speaker 13: the middle of the game, what am I saying? Hey,
- 1:18:41Speaker 13: I remember Georgia Alabama game earlier this year. It wasn't closed, man,
- 1:18:44Speaker 13: And those guys came back in the second half, and
- 1:18:45Speaker 13: we certainly played a lot better in the second half
- 1:18:48Speaker 13: than we did in the first. But I just I'm
- 1:18:50Speaker 13: that guy that I want to fight until there's you know,
- 1:18:52Speaker 13: no time left on the clock.
- 1:18:53Speaker 2: So that's the mindset when you leave that game. After
- 1:18:55Speaker 2: the game's over with.
- 1:18:56Speaker 13: You're like, Okay, how do I make sure that doesn't
- 1:18:57Speaker 13: happen again? Ohio State unbelieve team. You know, really well,
- 1:19:01Speaker 13: coach coach dated an unbelievable job this year. But you
- 1:19:03Speaker 13: know they're gonna have a ton of guys draft. They
- 1:19:05Speaker 13: had a lot of success, so we we had a
- 1:19:06Speaker 13: lot of guys go on to the next level. There
- 1:19:08Speaker 13: are things that they did in that game that we
- 1:19:09Speaker 13: didn't prepare prepare our players well for right. And that's
- 1:19:13Speaker 13: the part like can you take the medicine? Can you
- 1:19:15Speaker 13: figure out what didn't go right?
- 1:19:17Speaker 3: Right?
- 1:19:17Speaker 2: But if you're wired the right way.
- 1:19:18Speaker 13: Right, We're watching Houston the other night and you're watching,
- 1:19:20Speaker 13: you know, coach Sampson has been coaching for a long time.
- 1:19:22Speaker 13: That guy's deserving of a national championship. How hard he's worked,
- 1:19:25Speaker 13: he's never touched it. It shows you how hard it is
- 1:19:27Speaker 13: for it, you know, to get, like so hard to get.
- 1:19:29Speaker 13: But that if you're motivated the right way, those moments, no,
- 1:19:32Speaker 13: those are growth moments. That's a chance to say, Okay,
- 1:19:34Speaker 13: I'm gonna go.
- 1:19:35Speaker 3: In for you.
- 1:19:35Speaker 1: Did that medicine last a little bit longer? Just no medicine.
- 1:19:38Speaker 1: I wake up every night about that medicine.
- 1:19:40Speaker 13: Like you know, before we struggled early on beating Washington
- 1:19:42Speaker 13: and like you know when I first started here and
- 1:19:45Speaker 13: we were able to get over that hump, right, we
- 1:19:46Speaker 13: were able to beat them this past season. Right now,
- 1:19:49Speaker 13: I wake up thinking about that that Rose Bull game
- 1:19:51Speaker 13: and didn't do it the way I wanted to do it.
- 1:19:52Speaker 13: So it motivates me, right, it makes me hungry to
- 1:19:55Speaker 13: go back to work.
- 1:19:56Speaker 6: If you take it like we all we you to accountability,
- 1:19:58Speaker 6: it's like, yeah, we weren't ready, we'd't have our guys PA.
- 1:20:00Speaker 6: Now that we've made that very clear, do you think
- 1:20:03Speaker 6: having that long of a break for you guys hurt
- 1:20:05Speaker 6: you at all?
- 1:20:05Speaker 13: Yeah, there's certainly I'll never make an excuse, but there's
- 1:20:09Speaker 13: certainly things that you'd say, Okay, how would I do
- 1:20:11Speaker 13: this different preparing for that moment. It's a lot different
- 1:20:14Speaker 13: when you're playing a game every single week. And I
- 1:20:17Speaker 13: think there's a lot of things that college football is
- 1:20:18Speaker 13: still trying to figure out. There's a reason the NFL
- 1:20:20Speaker 13: playoffs are the way they are, right There's been a
- 1:20:22Speaker 13: lot of people doing playoffs for a long time, and
- 1:20:24Speaker 13: a lot of sports. It feels like we just decide
- 1:20:26Speaker 13: we're always gonna do it a little bit different and
- 1:20:28Speaker 13: everybody else and it's like, how about we just follow
- 1:20:30Speaker 13: the model that exists.
- 1:20:31Speaker 2: It's a pretty good model.
- 1:20:32Speaker 6: The model is play the championship weekend or the bath
- 1:20:35Speaker 6: In Championship, or don't even have the Bathen Championship, and
- 1:20:37Speaker 6: that following week, have your bi weeks for the first
- 1:20:39Speaker 6: couple of seeds, and then go on.
- 1:20:40Speaker 2: And then go on, get to play the next week.
- 1:20:41Speaker 2: But yeah, having a long break.
- 1:20:43Speaker 13: You know, I've always been an advocate for football season
- 1:20:45Speaker 13: should in college football season should in January first, That's
- 1:20:48Speaker 13: when the next semester starts, right, if that means everybody
- 1:20:51Speaker 13: starts a week zero. I've always been an advocate of,
- 1:20:53Speaker 13: you know, staying a rhythm. Play on Saturdays. Right, let's
- 1:20:56Speaker 13: finish the champion. You know, why is championship game on
- 1:20:58Speaker 13: a Monday? Like, those are things I don't completely understand,
- 1:21:01Speaker 13: but I'm sure there's some dollar signs behind it, and
- 1:21:03Speaker 13: it is what it is.
- 1:21:04Speaker 3: It was.
- 1:21:05Speaker 1: It was it difficult, like knowing that you had three
- 1:21:08Speaker 1: weeks off on.
- 1:21:08Speaker 3: How to go about the preparation.
- 1:21:10Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, and when you look back, it's like,
- 1:21:12Speaker 1: what are things that you might mess with differently?
- 1:21:13Speaker 13: Yeah, there's certainly some stuff that I'll tweak. I mean,
- 1:21:15Speaker 13: I won't get in the weeds about what we do different.
- 1:21:17Speaker 13: But I met and visited with a lot of people
- 1:21:20Speaker 13: on Hey how Ward this look. But it was it
- 1:21:22Speaker 13: was the first time for everybody, nobody experienced a college
- 1:21:24Speaker 13: football playoff like that before. And there's some things we'll
- 1:21:27Speaker 13: do different, you know, in the future. But uh, you
- 1:21:30Speaker 13: adapt do you put the best plan together you think
- 1:21:32Speaker 13: makes sense, and then you adapt an adjust based on
- 1:21:35Speaker 13: what what wasn't good.
- 1:21:36Speaker 6: Is there a piece of you that blames the University
- 1:21:38Speaker 6: of Michigan for waking up that giant.
- 1:21:42Speaker 2: I blame Morgan Man. We didn't take care of business.
- 1:21:44Speaker 6: I just you see them. But they kind of really
- 1:21:45Speaker 6: opened up the playbook after they took that lost four
- 1:21:47Speaker 6: years in a row. By the way, if a neial
- 1:21:48Speaker 6: house State fans are watching to Michigan and then all
- 1:21:52Speaker 6: of a sudden, they were like their hair, they were hot,
- 1:21:53Speaker 6: caught on fire, they were hot, they were hot, they
- 1:21:55Speaker 6: got hot, And a piece of me really truly feels
- 1:21:57Speaker 6: that they won't even got past Tennessee if they were
- 1:21:59Speaker 6: just being Michigan and the way they should have beat them.
- 1:22:02Speaker 1: Here to comment, there's a piece you wish they would
- 1:22:07Speaker 1: have knocked a late game winning field goal early in
- 1:22:09Speaker 1: the season, so that way maybe the motivation or momentum
- 1:22:11Speaker 1: would have shifted.
- 1:22:12Speaker 2: Man piece of me wishes we won.
- 1:22:15Speaker 6: Is that feels like it was a bit of karma
- 1:22:17Speaker 6: because you continue to keep scoring on Michigan when you
- 1:22:19Speaker 6: played them. You want to pretend like I didn't hear
- 1:22:24Speaker 6: that little shot you took in front of the team today.
- 1:22:26Speaker 6: I won't say. I won't say what it was. You've
- 1:22:28Speaker 6: been very great, gracious.
- 1:22:29Speaker 2: All competitors, right, we're all win every single time.
- 1:22:32Speaker 6: He did say, you know there was somebody here that
- 1:22:34Speaker 6: played for your verse. What you saw, we did do
- 1:22:36Speaker 6: them this year. Very light, very comical, great timing. You
- 1:22:39Speaker 6: got a good, good group of boys that light shots.
- 1:22:41Speaker 3: Man.
- 1:22:42Speaker 6: Yeah, it's nice. Do you ever wish the ship talking
- 1:22:45Speaker 6: could just be allowed? Like there's obviously an unwritten rule,
- 1:22:48Speaker 6: Like you're like coach Day, he coached a hell of
- 1:22:50Speaker 6: a game. There's a piece here that it's like, listen,
- 1:22:52Speaker 6: we fucked up. It really wasn't you, it was it
- 1:22:55Speaker 6: was us. But you know how the media works, Like
- 1:22:57Speaker 6: you go and say that, it's like you kind of
- 1:22:58Speaker 6: wish you just get the boys in the room and
- 1:23:00Speaker 6: have a little chatter. You're a banter type of guy.
- 1:23:02Speaker 13: I got a little juice when it comes to that. Yeah,
- 1:23:04Speaker 13: here's my thing. Does it help you win football games?
- 1:23:07Speaker 3: Right?
- 1:23:07Speaker 13: If it doesn't help you win football games, then I
- 1:23:09Speaker 13: don't care. But do we all enjoy talking little shit?
- 1:23:11Speaker 2: Sometimes?
- 1:23:11Speaker 8: Yeah?
- 1:23:11Speaker 3: I agree?
- 1:23:12Speaker 6: When it comes to pivoting on that a little bit
- 1:23:15Speaker 6: is you know, you see a lot of players, a
- 1:23:16Speaker 6: lot of for the most part football, when guys, when
- 1:23:19Speaker 6: players state at the podium, it's we're playing a good team.
- 1:23:22Speaker 6: They have eleven guys that can go blah blah blah.
- 1:23:24Speaker 6: They do some unique stuff. There's a playbook for every
- 1:23:26Speaker 6: time we talk to the media. But then you see
- 1:23:28Speaker 6: a guy like Kenny Dillingham who lets his quarterback be
- 1:23:30Speaker 6: like I'm the fucking best and both Scatabo is like
- 1:23:33Speaker 6: I'm the best running back in the nation. They're gonna
- 1:23:35Speaker 6: find out like do you think it's gonna hurt Kenny
- 1:23:39Speaker 6: in the future or do you think or do.
- 1:23:42Speaker 1: You think do you think it's bad for Kennedy?
- 1:23:46Speaker 3: It's a bad move for Kenny.
- 1:23:47Speaker 2: Here's what I would say.
- 1:23:48Speaker 13: I think what Kenny's figured out and here's the reason
- 1:23:49Speaker 13: he's having success down there at Arizona State is.
- 1:23:51Speaker 2: You have to be you right.
- 1:23:52Speaker 13: Every program is different, like Mike Leach way different from
- 1:23:56Speaker 13: Nick Saban, but both really successful coaches. Kenny's figuring out
- 1:23:59Speaker 13: what works for him and his team.
- 1:24:00Speaker 3: Right.
- 1:24:01Speaker 13: You know, I'm not a big believer in trying to
- 1:24:02Speaker 13: give the other team ammo. Right, But you know sometimes
- 1:24:05Speaker 13: that happens and I say that and we have there's
- 1:24:07Speaker 13: there's people out.
- 1:24:08Speaker 2: There that don't like us, right, and that's okay. But
- 1:24:11Speaker 2: you have to be you. That's what you have to
- 1:24:12Speaker 2: be as a coach. People recognize that.
- 1:24:15Speaker 6: I get it.
- 1:24:16Speaker 1: Last time when we sat down, we talked a lot
- 1:24:18Speaker 1: about your journey, like the thirteen hour drive and the
- 1:24:20Speaker 1: way you what about the interview and the trials and
- 1:24:23Speaker 1: tribulations that you had during that part of the journey.
- 1:24:26Speaker 1: We were talking with one of your boys at lunch
- 1:24:28Speaker 1: and he was kind of giving us the skinny on
- 1:24:30Speaker 1: your route to by the way, congratulations on your extension.
- 1:24:33Speaker 2: Oh thanks, you appreciate time. Thank you.
- 1:24:35Speaker 1: Some new money, new money, new problems, right, no doubt.
- 1:24:39Speaker 1: But can you talk about your GA days because my
- 1:24:43Speaker 1: man is telling us intel like you were making like
- 1:24:45Speaker 1: six thousand dollars, twelve thousand dollars here you're going, you
- 1:24:47Speaker 1: finally get a gig tour, you're coaching, you get a
- 1:24:50Speaker 1: position coach, then you take a and you're making like
- 1:24:52Speaker 1: sixty grand there. Then you take a massive pay cut
- 1:24:55Speaker 1: to go be a GA and get your master's a
- 1:24:56Speaker 1: great at the University of Alabama. Do you ever just
- 1:24:58Speaker 1: sit back, bro and think about that all and think
- 1:25:02Speaker 1: about like the moves that you had to make in
- 1:25:04Speaker 1: the the sacrifice for the family. Like there was even
- 1:25:09Speaker 1: chatter about you guys were shopping with like food stamps.
- 1:25:12Speaker 3: Is that real? Yeah, You're walking into a grocery store.
- 1:25:17Speaker 13: We had the card, you had the coops, you have
- 1:25:19Speaker 13: the card, you had a car, you had to you
- 1:25:20Speaker 13: had a card EBT.
- 1:25:21Speaker 3: Card, and you're coaching and you're shopping.
- 1:25:25Speaker 2: With My wife hated when I would make her be
- 1:25:27Speaker 2: the one to go shop for great.
- 1:25:27Speaker 3: Because she'd make you do it.
- 1:25:29Speaker 13: But you know, like a benefit of that when I'm
- 1:25:30Speaker 13: at PIT, we have that card and you need to
- 1:25:33Speaker 13: use it each month, right or the money is gone.
- 1:25:36Speaker 3: Right.
- 1:25:36Speaker 13: So I remember I had the whole scout team when
- 1:25:38Speaker 13: I'm at PIT over my house and we had a
- 1:25:40Speaker 13: heck of a dinner right using the swiping the card man.
- 1:25:43Speaker 2: So like, I think back to that a lot.
- 1:25:45Speaker 13: I feel so unbelievably blessed to get to do what
- 1:25:48Speaker 13: I do and in the place that I get to
- 1:25:51Speaker 13: do it and who I get to do it with.
- 1:25:52Speaker 13: But none of it would have happened. I always what
- 1:25:54Speaker 13: I always think about is what if I didn't do
- 1:25:56Speaker 13: that right? The pain of regret, you know, versus the
- 1:25:59Speaker 13: paint of discipline. I always chased opportunity. I never really worried.
- 1:26:01Speaker 2: About how much I made.
- 1:26:02Speaker 13: God always made sure we had enough to take care of,
- 1:26:04Speaker 13: you know, take care of the house, and we never
- 1:26:07Speaker 13: really wanted for more, Like we felt like we had
- 1:26:09Speaker 13: what we needed. And now I'm always sitting here saying, like,
- 1:26:11Speaker 13: what if I didn't get in that car and drive
- 1:26:13Speaker 13: the pit What if I didn't, you know, go to
- 1:26:16Speaker 13: Arizona State and instead run back to coach high school
- 1:26:18Speaker 13: football Missouri. You know, what if I didn't leave seeing
- 1:26:21Speaker 13: Sam Houston State to go be a GA for the.
- 1:26:23Speaker 2: Greatest football coach of all time, Coach Saban.
- 1:26:26Speaker 13: Around that table some of the greatest coaches you know
- 1:26:28Speaker 13: in college football, Kirby Smart Meltuck or Mario Cristoball, Billy Naper,
- 1:26:32Speaker 13: Lane Kiff and just some like unbelievable people that I
- 1:26:35Speaker 13: got to be around, I wouldn't be where I'm at today.
- 1:26:37Speaker 13: So super rewarding. Man, It's a crazy path, but super.
- 1:26:41Speaker 1: How long were you in the coaching game before the
- 1:26:43Speaker 1: opportunity to go to Alabama happened.
- 1:26:46Speaker 13: Yeah, So, I mean I coached high school ball three years,
- 1:26:48Speaker 13: right then I went to Pitt for one year, and
- 1:26:50Speaker 13: it's kind of some small stop. So I was Pitt
- 1:26:52Speaker 13: one year, Arizona State for two years is a GA,
- 1:26:55Speaker 13: and then Sam Houston State one year, and then Bama.
- 1:26:58Speaker 2: So I'm not a math major as pe guy, but
- 1:27:00Speaker 2: you can have.
- 1:27:01Speaker 6: Those sounds close to around and then you.
- 1:27:04Speaker 13: Know, Bama was still a GA, right I was. I
- 1:27:06Speaker 13: was making twelve hundred bucks a month and three kids, and.
- 1:27:09Speaker 1: I was gonna say, and you had a family, not
- 1:27:11Speaker 1: just a wife, you had three kids, three kids? Yeah,
- 1:27:13Speaker 1: and then yeah, it's amazing, you know you.
- 1:27:16Speaker 2: What I realize now is a lot of that was
- 1:27:18Speaker 2: really selfish.
- 1:27:19Speaker 13: Like everybody wants to be able to be like an
- 1:27:21Speaker 13: unbelievable dad and unbelievable husband, and you want that, but
- 1:27:24Speaker 13: you also want to elevate, you want to move up,
- 1:27:26Speaker 13: and the selfishness early in my career there was a
- 1:27:29Speaker 13: sacrifice my family. That was a big sacrifice. What I
- 1:27:32Speaker 13: figured out now is how I can balance that? Right,
- 1:27:34Speaker 13: you can have both, but to get here I probably couldn't. Right,
- 1:27:37Speaker 13: There isn't balance right to get here.
- 1:27:39Speaker 6: When you're having those kids and you have twelve hundred
- 1:27:42Speaker 6: bucks a month, Like, was there ever a point where like,
- 1:27:43Speaker 6: maybe this isn't for me.
- 1:27:45Speaker 13: Uh, you certainly have doubt at times, But what made
- 1:27:48Speaker 13: it work is my wife was always on board, right,
- 1:27:51Speaker 13: it always made sense. And what we did is anytime,
- 1:27:53Speaker 13: like I went to Sam Houston State and we're making
- 1:27:55Speaker 13: a little over sixty thousand that.
- 1:27:57Speaker 2: Year with three kids, so we saved.
- 1:27:58Speaker 13: Like it was always in our mind, like, let's plan
- 1:28:01Speaker 13: for the next time we have a hardship, right, and
- 1:28:03Speaker 13: like going broke, Like I owned a house and in Liberty,
- 1:28:07Speaker 13: Missouri when I went to pitt and this is when
- 1:28:09Speaker 13: the housing market crashed, so my wife stayed in Kansas
- 1:28:11Speaker 13: City with Caden and Niles.
- 1:28:13Speaker 2: We just had you know, Niles, and we.
- 1:28:15Speaker 13: Tried to sell the house. We couldn't sell it for
- 1:28:17Speaker 13: what we owed on the house. So what happens to
- 1:28:19Speaker 13: the house foreclosed?
- 1:28:20Speaker 2: Right? I think going broke early in my career was
- 1:28:23Speaker 2: like a great.
- 1:28:23Speaker 13: Lesson of Hey, this could happen again, right, and you
- 1:28:27Speaker 13: kind of figure out what do I need to live
- 1:28:28Speaker 13: in live on?
- 1:28:29Speaker 2: Not what do I want?
- 1:28:30Speaker 1: Where are you coming home from Sam Houston with just
- 1:28:32Speaker 1: all to go boxes from what the Absolutely the kitchen maid.
- 1:28:35Speaker 2: Absolutely absolutely, I'm.
- 1:28:40Speaker 6: Bringing it at home. Don't even worry about it.
- 1:28:41Speaker 2: That's right.
- 1:28:42Speaker 6: Late night as the.
- 1:28:42Speaker 3: Coach coach are always look at players. Family is going
- 1:28:45Speaker 3: to be eating good tonight.
- 1:28:46Speaker 6: Yeah, out of there, dude. You mentioned going broke early
- 1:28:50Speaker 6: in your life is almost a it's a it's a
- 1:28:51Speaker 6: good blessing because you get to learn how to save,
- 1:28:54Speaker 6: how to do all those things. Now you're living in
- 1:28:56Speaker 6: a world where these players are making a shipload of money, right,
- 1:28:59Speaker 6: how like, how do you instill that type of discipline
- 1:29:01Speaker 6: on them, because it's got to be so hard. Like,
- 1:29:05Speaker 6: guys come from whatever part of like your life. They
- 1:29:07Speaker 6: come from upper class, poor, everything in the middle. Once
- 1:29:10Speaker 6: you get some money that's yours, not your parents' money,
- 1:29:12Speaker 6: but yours, it's like I'm gonna get this car, I
- 1:29:14Speaker 6: want to get this chain, this, that and the other.
- 1:29:16Speaker 6: And when I was walking around here today, I didn't
- 1:29:18Speaker 6: see I saw a couple of chains, I saw a
- 1:29:19Speaker 6: couple of the but like, I didn't see anything like
- 1:29:22Speaker 6: over the top or it seems like these guys have
- 1:29:24Speaker 6: good heads on their shoulders.
- 1:29:25Speaker 13: Yeah, I think that that our guys are pretty savvy
- 1:29:27Speaker 13: that they all make mistakes, right, but always telling recruiting like, look, man,
- 1:29:29Speaker 13: you're about to be taken care of. I don't need
- 1:29:31Speaker 13: you to walk into this chain and says tailor on it,
- 1:29:33Speaker 13: like we can just have a t man, like it
- 1:29:35Speaker 13: doesn't you know the.
- 1:29:37Speaker 6: Other five letters, right, Just let's be smart.
- 1:29:39Speaker 13: So I think the education piece, we spend a lot
- 1:29:42Speaker 13: of time on financial literacy here.
- 1:29:43Speaker 2: We bring people in to.
- 1:29:44Speaker 13: Talk to our guys, and they have to feel comfortable
- 1:29:46Speaker 13: having those conversations with us.
- 1:29:48Speaker 1: You know.
- 1:29:48Speaker 13: I'm I'm visiting yesterday with Bucky Irving and I'm so
- 1:29:50Speaker 13: proud of what he's done in the NFL with the Bucks.
- 1:29:52Speaker 13: But we're just catching up and he's talking about, hey,
- 1:29:54Speaker 13: here's the great decisions I've made so far financially, and
- 1:29:57Speaker 13: how he's able to, you know, put some put some back,
- 1:30:00Speaker 13: and he's taking care of the future. And I think
- 1:30:01Speaker 13: some of that's from lessons learned here. So you hope
- 1:30:04Speaker 13: that you're teaching those lessons. And then sometimes a mistake
- 1:30:07Speaker 13: is a great lesson, Right, Some of these guys will
- 1:30:08Speaker 13: make a mistake, but you want them to learn from
- 1:30:11Speaker 13: it and build from it so they can have a
- 1:30:12Speaker 13: long term future because of it.
- 1:30:14Speaker 1: Have you ever seen one of the boys drive something
- 1:30:16Speaker 1: in and you gotta like, oh, I definitely got par
- 1:30:18Speaker 1: keys before.
- 1:30:19Speaker 13: I've definitely seen. It's more about like, let's talk about
- 1:30:22Speaker 13: how are you driving? Right, Like it's more about how
- 1:30:23Speaker 13: are you driving?
- 1:30:24Speaker 2: What are you driving? But there's certainly conversations had, right.
- 1:30:27Speaker 13: I think there's always buyer's remorse with some with some
- 1:30:29Speaker 13: guys that make a poor financial decision and they realize
- 1:30:32Speaker 13: it usually down the road, right, But uh, yeah, you
- 1:30:35Speaker 13: got to educate them in everything. It's not just football.
- 1:30:37Speaker 1: What's your what's been your biggest splurge? Yeah, since your
- 1:30:42Speaker 1: new money has happened.
- 1:30:43Speaker 13: I I bought a Vantage Bronco nineteen seventy four vintage
- 1:30:47Speaker 13: Broncome and it was one of those ones where I
- 1:30:49Speaker 13: didn't realize what it costs right when I was like, yeah,
- 1:30:52Speaker 13: I can afford it Bronco, right, And then you figure
- 1:30:54Speaker 13: out what it costs, Like the guy that got one
- 1:30:56Speaker 13: before me was lebron James.
- 1:30:58Speaker 2: And then I was like, wait a minute, how much
- 1:31:00Speaker 2: is this?
- 1:31:01Speaker 6: So you went to vintage Bronco, Yeah, vintage Bronco. Yeah.
- 1:31:03Speaker 6: My wife has a seventy four Wimbledon white one from
- 1:31:07Speaker 6: Vintage Bronco as well.
- 1:31:08Speaker 13: They're awesome, unreal in it. Yeah, it's they're they're awesome.
- 1:31:11Speaker 13: And the guy that actually makes some small world right
- 1:31:14Speaker 13: he what was his name?
- 1:31:15Speaker 8: Right?
- 1:31:15Speaker 13: Yeah, Cho He went to school at Oregon, no way,
- 1:31:18Speaker 13: never knew it. And then you know, I was at Georgia.
- 1:31:20Speaker 13: You know, we kind of d I mean I was
- 1:31:22Speaker 13: following the Instagram page and I was like, Okay, that's
- 1:31:24Speaker 13: the someday, Yeah, maybe get one of those, right, and
- 1:31:27Speaker 13: you come out here and we get connected, and yeah,
- 1:31:29Speaker 13: I end up getting one from him.
- 1:31:31Speaker 6: They've got a cool setup because I think they get
- 1:31:32Speaker 6: their parts from Ford themselves. Yeah, because a lot of
- 1:31:35Speaker 6: times you do these resto mods, you're kind of putting
- 1:31:38Speaker 6: pieces together where maybe shouldn't be with them. But we've
- 1:31:40Speaker 6: never had a problem with the Bronco.
- 1:31:41Speaker 2: It's been out. It's it's been awesome.
- 1:31:43Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:31:43Speaker 6: And I had this weird dream of having only like
- 1:31:46Speaker 6: older cars that just you know, turn key drive every
- 1:31:49Speaker 6: single day. The Bronco does my truck, my seventy seven
- 1:31:52Speaker 6: one hundred. It's you know, every couple of months, I'm
- 1:31:55Speaker 6: calling you and be like, hey, it's not working.
- 1:31:57Speaker 2: The way its supposed to be.
- 1:31:58Speaker 6: I got ober home now because it's call our X,
- 1:32:00Speaker 6: Y and Z.
- 1:32:01Speaker 2: Yeah, Bronco's been great.
- 1:32:02Speaker 6: The Bronco's great. Man, they got a great set up there.
- 1:32:05Speaker 6: We went down there. I tried to give them cash
- 1:32:06Speaker 6: and they're like, listen, the price.
- 1:32:07Speaker 2: Is the price, it is what it is. You're not
- 1:32:09Speaker 2: good to deal.
- 1:32:10Speaker 6: I tried to too. I brought in. I only brought cash,
- 1:32:12Speaker 6: and I was like, I'll give you.
- 1:32:13Speaker 2: And then they told you everybody that buys these byamen cash.
- 1:32:15Speaker 6: Yeah. I was like, yeah, you're right. I'm gonna get
- 1:32:17Speaker 6: the fuck out of here. But they hooked it up. Man,
- 1:32:19Speaker 6: that's awesome. I'm stoked for you.
- 1:32:20Speaker 2: So you have it now, I have it and I'll
- 1:32:21Speaker 2: show it to you guys later on.
- 1:32:22Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah, you know what color?
- 1:32:24Speaker 2: It's actually like, uh, gray, I don't know what color
- 1:32:27Speaker 2: gray you'd call it.
- 1:32:27Speaker 6: But did you do the four door or the two door?
- 1:32:29Speaker 3: Two door?
- 1:32:30Speaker 6: You thought about that four door at all?
- 1:32:31Speaker 13: It was before I don't know if it was even
- 1:32:33Speaker 13: an option yet at the point at that point when
- 1:32:35Speaker 13: I when I got it, it might have been.
- 1:32:37Speaker 3: But we'll see it though. We get to go some
- 1:32:39Speaker 3: dinner at this check it out to see the main cave.
- 1:32:41Speaker 3: That's right, you got a little set up. You got
- 1:32:43Speaker 3: a sneaker collection.
- 1:32:44Speaker 2: I got some sneakers. I got a couple of sneakers.
- 1:32:46Speaker 2: I'll show you for you. I'm not a fourteen, I'm
- 1:32:48Speaker 2: a thirteen.
- 1:32:48Speaker 6: Yeah, I'll tell you what though, I walked in with
- 1:32:50Speaker 6: some not Nike shoes today.
- 1:32:52Speaker 2: You got heat on.
- 1:32:53Speaker 6: Now, got an ass chewing and you were like killing
- 1:32:55Speaker 6: my office. These are unbelievable. You got some heat on, man, Yes,
- 1:32:58Speaker 6: and I know you were like, I'll try to show
- 1:32:59Speaker 6: the in this. I think it's this one.
- 1:33:01Speaker 2: Yeah, the stories and this story is really cool.
- 1:33:03Speaker 6: You what do you want? Do you mind telling the story?
- 1:33:04Speaker 3: Yeah? Just you know.
- 1:33:06Speaker 13: You know, Nike partners with dorm Becker, which is a
- 1:33:08Speaker 13: children's hospible here in Oregon, and these kids they design
- 1:33:12Speaker 13: different you know, uh, different logos, different themes, and they
- 1:33:15Speaker 13: have a competition, it's right, And after that competition they picked.
- 1:33:18Speaker 2: The winner and they actually end up creating the shoes.
- 1:33:20Speaker 13: So some pretty cool gear that's made there by Nike
- 1:33:23Speaker 13: with a with an awesome purpose.
- 1:33:25Speaker 1: You guys are connected with Nike, man, I mean, what
- 1:33:27Speaker 1: an unbelievable spot that you're in no doubt. Let's talk
- 1:33:32Speaker 1: about the day. How's it been having the boys around.
- 1:33:35Speaker 13: There's a little bit of like juice in the building, right,
- 1:33:37Speaker 13: You guys brought some juice. I love that Taylor came
- 1:33:39Speaker 13: down and immediately rips his shirt up. Will went kind
- 1:33:43Speaker 13: of like, hey man, this these moments go fast. It
- 1:33:45Speaker 13: was a little centimental. You can see his heart. I'm
- 1:33:48Speaker 13: not sure if he was tearing up a little bit.
- 1:33:49Speaker 2: Like you could see.
- 1:33:50Speaker 13: Taylor comes down, rips his shirt off, and says, let's
- 1:33:53Speaker 13: go to.
- 1:33:53Speaker 6: You know works workout this Isaiah world kid. It looks great.
- 1:33:58Speaker 6: They bail ball bull.
- 1:34:00Speaker 2: I wasn't in the room today.
- 1:34:01Speaker 6: Phenomenal.
- 1:34:01Speaker 2: He was good.
- 1:34:02Speaker 6: He was un I do want to get back to
- 1:34:03Speaker 6: Will's speech in a second, but I will my speech
- 1:34:07Speaker 6: the offensive line. That group of boys, it is a
- 1:34:10Speaker 6: very unique group. It's one of those screaming and yell
- 1:34:12Speaker 6: the whole time, getting the fuck after it, Like I
- 1:34:14Speaker 6: like fifteen ooses. I'm white, but I'm getting the oose
- 1:34:16Speaker 6: call the chest bumping me and I'm feeling myself.
- 1:34:19Speaker 2: So one of my favorite things in the world. We
- 1:34:21Speaker 2: have a pool in our house.
- 1:34:22Speaker 13: Those those dudes come over all the time in the summer,
- 1:34:25Speaker 13: and they take over the pool and we have these
- 1:34:27Speaker 13: rocks right by the pool. They'll jump into the pool
- 1:34:29Speaker 13: and they shoot this like volleyball up in the sky
- 1:34:31Speaker 13: if you ever seen it happen. But they bring their
- 1:34:33Speaker 13: own boombox, right, they got the music rolling. It's a
- 1:34:37Speaker 13: it's a special unit. Our offensive line is a really
- 1:34:39Speaker 13: special unit.
- 1:34:40Speaker 6: And I talked about that that meeting room too, like
- 1:34:42Speaker 6: it was like I felt so uncomfortable because it was
- 1:34:44Speaker 6: so awesome. I've never experienced anything like that.
- 1:34:46Speaker 2: How do you think you would have played in that environment.
- 1:34:49Speaker 6: Yeah, I would have had a lot of fun. Yeah,
- 1:34:51Speaker 6: I would have had a lot of fun. But I
- 1:34:52Speaker 6: would have been one of those guys that you had
- 1:34:53Speaker 6: to bring me in and like rain me in a
- 1:34:54Speaker 6: little bit, like, hey, you gotta calm down, like we
- 1:34:57Speaker 6: do have to get some work done. Yeah, because I'm
- 1:34:58Speaker 6: like a give an inch take of my type of guy.
- 1:35:00Speaker 6: When it came like having the ability to like, yeah,
- 1:35:03Speaker 6: have fun, that's right, Hey you can have fun. We're
- 1:35:05Speaker 6: having all the fun in the world. And then you're like,
- 1:35:06Speaker 6: well we can have all the fun of the way.
- 1:35:08Speaker 2: Come back, yeah, come back.
- 1:35:09Speaker 6: But that was a good group, and when you called
- 1:35:10Speaker 6: us down too, because you gave us this morning it
- 1:35:12Speaker 6: was like seven am, six.
- 1:35:13Speaker 3: Thirty, Yeah, something like that introduction.
- 1:35:16Speaker 6: And you put the whole thing up and it was
- 1:35:18Speaker 6: like your heights kind of pounded and you're like, yeah,
- 1:35:19Speaker 6: we'll have you guys say a couple of things for
- 1:35:21Speaker 6: the team. And I know how you were talking about it.
- 1:35:22Speaker 6: I was feeling the same exact way.
- 1:35:24Speaker 3: Where I'm thinking we're coming down together.
- 1:35:25Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, I don't know.
- 1:35:26Speaker 2: I didn't really give you a lot of heads up.
- 1:35:28Speaker 6: It was good though, Yeah, like you gotta.
- 1:35:30Speaker 3: Guys do it.
- 1:35:31Speaker 2: How often do you like, Hey, that didn't work. I
- 1:35:32Speaker 2: gotta go. You got to be right out like on
- 1:35:34Speaker 2: your toes.
- 1:35:35Speaker 6: There's a whole lot of multiple takes, not a whole
- 1:35:38Speaker 6: one take for a man.
- 1:35:39Speaker 3: Yeah, one take.
- 1:35:40Speaker 1: But thought process is too, Like when I came down
- 1:35:43Speaker 1: to give the speech, is like, we do funny content,
- 1:35:45Speaker 1: like we're in we do social media, we have the podcast,
- 1:35:48Speaker 1: we bust balls, we have a good time. But every
- 1:35:50Speaker 1: time I feel like I get in these environments where
- 1:35:52Speaker 1: I'm around the players and I'm around the football team,
- 1:35:55Speaker 1: you want to give something that's like you get back
- 1:35:57Speaker 1: in like the ball mentality, right, you think of the
- 1:35:59Speaker 1: nostalt and when I'm talking about like, enjoy these moments
- 1:36:03Speaker 1: because they're gonna be gone one day, Like we get
- 1:36:05Speaker 1: to do something so fun. And something that we always
- 1:36:07Speaker 1: talk about is like college football because in high school,
- 1:36:10Speaker 1: you run around, you're playing, you're having fun, like everybody's
- 1:36:12Speaker 1: the best on their team. You don't really know what
- 1:36:14Speaker 1: you're doing, but you know you're executing. You think you're
- 1:36:16Speaker 1: an NFL player, right, But you get to the NFL,
- 1:36:18Speaker 1: it's all business like if you don't play well, you
- 1:36:20Speaker 1: get cut, you get fined, you do all these things.
- 1:36:21Speaker 1: But the commitment to a team and where every guy
- 1:36:25Speaker 1: is on the same page.
- 1:36:26Speaker 3: You don't have that at the next level.
- 1:36:27Speaker 1: You're doing in certain aspects and in certain areas, but
- 1:36:31Speaker 1: it's a business at the end of the day. Like
- 1:36:32Speaker 1: the camaraderie and again the sacrifice for like you know
- 1:36:35Speaker 1: that championship are coming in, trying to get that one
- 1:36:37Speaker 1: percent better. Everybody's on the same board, and usually it's
- 1:36:41Speaker 1: like by the time it goes, it's gone, and then
- 1:36:43Speaker 1: you're just thinking about it in the rear view mirror.
- 1:36:44Speaker 1: But being like, man, we had such a hell of
- 1:36:46Speaker 1: a time. So that's why I was like, you know,
- 1:36:48Speaker 1: I'm trying to like tell these I'm like, it's a
- 1:36:49Speaker 1: good story, man, like boys enjoy this?
- 1:36:52Speaker 6: Man, did you know you were going to do that
- 1:36:53Speaker 6: when you were walking down? Because I felt like you
- 1:36:55Speaker 6: were taking a minute to walk down, walking about what
- 1:36:58Speaker 6: you're about?
- 1:36:58Speaker 3: Once he said once the worst came out of his mouth.
- 1:37:00Speaker 3: Do you have some words?
- 1:37:01Speaker 1: That's when I knew Taylor's not coming down and no
- 1:37:05Speaker 1: one's coming to say, Yeah, if you're gonna give a
- 1:37:08Speaker 1: few words, because you know, I get long winded with speeches,
- 1:37:10Speaker 1: But if you're gonna give a few words, like what
- 1:37:12Speaker 1: would be a message that you want to get across
- 1:37:14Speaker 1: to them?
- 1:37:14Speaker 6: And JP was sitting next to Will being like, you're nervous,
- 1:37:18Speaker 6: Like what are you gonna say? You're gonna be all right?
- 1:37:19Speaker 6: Like definitely getting in Will's head, But I'm also hearing
- 1:37:22Speaker 6: being like, I'm fucking nervous. What am I like?
- 1:37:24Speaker 1: Well, anytime, even as a player, when you're speaking in
- 1:37:26Speaker 1: front of the team, when all the when all these
- 1:37:27Speaker 1: chairs are filled up and you're speaking in front of
- 1:37:29Speaker 1: your peers, unless you're like the head coach or like
- 1:37:31Speaker 1: coaches who are talking from them all the time, like
- 1:37:34Speaker 1: you got you know, you're getting checked, like you're getting
- 1:37:36Speaker 1: put in a situation to where that speaking is the
- 1:37:39Speaker 1: most nerve wrecking speaking that you'll ever do.
- 1:37:41Speaker 3: In front of your team.
- 1:37:42Speaker 2: Picture something right now for me.
- 1:37:44Speaker 13: Right you're in front of that you know camera, Do
- 1:37:47Speaker 13: you realize, like picture all the people that are gonna
- 1:37:49Speaker 13: watch this and they're sitting in a chair too, treating.
- 1:37:51Speaker 3: You're you're right.
- 1:37:52Speaker 1: But it's like those it would probably be what a
- 1:37:54Speaker 1: billion people that watch this episode, Like they're like that's
- 1:37:57Speaker 1: inside the camera, like they're not sitting here around you
- 1:37:59Speaker 1: to where again it's like that elevator in front of
- 1:38:02Speaker 1: the camera.
- 1:38:03Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, no, you're right.
- 1:38:04Speaker 6: With all those eyes. Like I've like public speaking. I
- 1:38:07Speaker 6: think we've both done a handful of stuff. I really
- 1:38:09Speaker 6: don't get nervous public speaking, but whatever reason, whenever it's
- 1:38:12Speaker 6: football players, I feel like I have like an obligation
- 1:38:15Speaker 6: to say something either profound or get the juices flowing.
- 1:38:18Speaker 6: And if I don't do one of those two things,
- 1:38:20Speaker 6: I like let everybody down you.
- 1:38:21Speaker 2: Feel like they're the best in the world and like
- 1:38:23Speaker 2: spot in a phony.
- 1:38:24Speaker 6: Yeah, because it all I mean, we were easy to
- 1:38:27Speaker 6: see authenticity and not. It's so easy to see it.
- 1:38:29Speaker 1: And like we've sat in these chairs and you know
- 1:38:31Speaker 1: when speakers coach would have speaker come in and stuff,
- 1:38:33Speaker 1: and you know which ones that you're into and which
- 1:38:35Speaker 1: ones you're not, or which ones that you might be
- 1:38:36Speaker 1: surprised by.
- 1:38:37Speaker 6: Right right there. I mean, we did the the Rookie
- 1:38:40Speaker 6: Symposium in twenty fourteen and there was a I'm not
- 1:38:43Speaker 6: going to say the player's name, but he came down.
- 1:38:45Speaker 6: He was he's a Hall of Fame player, and he
- 1:38:47Speaker 6: spent forty five minutes talking to us about how good
- 1:38:49Speaker 6: he was where I'm just like, bro, can you help me?
- 1:38:52Speaker 6: First off, I don't want to be here anyway, right,
- 1:38:54Speaker 6: we all want to go home. We like we just
- 1:38:56Speaker 6: finished OTAs. But he's just making it all about himself.
- 1:38:59Speaker 6: And when he times, I'm like, you have this opportunity,
- 1:39:01Speaker 6: it's like how do we talk to you guys to
- 1:39:03Speaker 6: where it's like, yeah, we've been here and we're willing
- 1:39:05Speaker 6: to help you, but also it's about you, not us,
- 1:39:07Speaker 6: because like our story will and I story is already written,
- 1:39:10Speaker 6: like whether we can be proud of it, we can
- 1:39:11Speaker 6: have our playing days of like literally beginning between, you know,
- 1:39:16Speaker 6: getting inside the lines and putting a helmet on and
- 1:39:18Speaker 6: getting after it like it's over, it's done. Now, it's
- 1:39:21Speaker 6: all about you guys. And that's one thing I really
- 1:39:23Speaker 6: appreciate about your boys as well as you. Like Will
- 1:39:25Speaker 6: came in with the sentimental and I was like, well,
- 1:39:26Speaker 6: there's no point in going sentimental. You have to bring
- 1:39:28Speaker 6: the juice. So we like the little ying and yang.
- 1:39:30Speaker 6: But a bunch of your guys were come out to
- 1:39:33Speaker 6: me solo, just asking questions, Hey, if you could tell
- 1:39:35Speaker 6: yourself thing, We'll tell yourself one thing different when you
- 1:39:37Speaker 6: were in college.
- 1:39:38Speaker 3: What would it be?
- 1:39:39Speaker 6: Mine was like party less and then one kid's like
- 1:39:41Speaker 6: on the only party. I was like, okay, then let's
- 1:39:42Speaker 6: try this do this. But like every like, there was
- 1:39:45Speaker 6: like four or five guys that intentionally came up and
- 1:39:47Speaker 6: like wanted to learn something because they thought I had
- 1:39:49Speaker 6: some sort of value to give them. And that's awesome.
- 1:39:52Speaker 6: It's awesome that there's like a certain curiosity here in
- 1:39:55Speaker 6: Oregon guys actually want to get better. It says a
- 1:39:57Speaker 6: lot about the culture that's good.
- 1:39:59Speaker 1: And Taylor's having this conversation when we're in the tubs too,
- 1:40:02Speaker 1: like we did the if everybody watched, we did the
- 1:40:04Speaker 1: full thing.
- 1:40:05Speaker 3: We did the team recovery. Yeah, hey they're getting recovered.
- 1:40:08Speaker 1: We did the team meeting, We sat in the special
- 1:40:10Speaker 1: teams meeting, We did the offensive defensive meetings. We went
- 1:40:13Speaker 1: down and worked out with the boys, which, by the way,
- 1:40:16Speaker 1: trying to be young again is a tough gig. I'm
- 1:40:19Speaker 1: working out with Bryce number twenty eight.
- 1:40:22Speaker 2: Yeah he's drafted in baseball.
- 1:40:24Speaker 3: Dude, he has a hell of a story.
- 1:40:25Speaker 2: Yeah he walked on both Yeah, great story.
- 1:40:28Speaker 1: Yeah, he has an incredible story. Draft in the thirteenth round.
- 1:40:31Speaker 1: But he's a bulldog in the weight room. Oh yeah,
- 1:40:33Speaker 1: but he stacked. He's got the shoulders, he's got the neck,
- 1:40:35Speaker 1: he's got everything.
- 1:40:36Speaker 6: He's got Compton College vies.
- 1:40:38Speaker 1: He's trying to throw on all these extra plates. And
- 1:40:40Speaker 1: there's one point where I'm like, hey, let's go ahead
- 1:40:42Speaker 1: and strip this off like my little back starting now.
- 1:40:44Speaker 1: You gotta be you gotta be worried about that stuff.
- 1:40:46Speaker 1: When you get older, you get removed and you realize,
- 1:40:49Speaker 1: like you just don't you're a shelly yourself.
- 1:40:51Speaker 6: These kids are want to see will Compton, They want
- 1:40:54Speaker 6: to see the ess. Yeah, so you gotta put your
- 1:40:57Speaker 6: put your back in a vulnerable position in order to
- 1:40:59Speaker 6: produce for these.
- 1:40:59Speaker 1: I kept up, but it's one of those things. I know,
- 1:41:01Speaker 1: when we walk in tomorrow and do practice, I'm gonna
- 1:41:03Speaker 1: be feeling it.
- 1:41:04Speaker 6: Yeah yeah, get ready, Yeah yeah.
- 1:41:07Speaker 1: The linebacker meeting room was fun. I put on my
- 1:41:10Speaker 1: coaching hat for a moment. I had to tell coach,
- 1:41:12Speaker 1: I say, can we go back to the last clip, like, hey,
- 1:41:14Speaker 1: the backer down here, how can you help out your
- 1:41:16Speaker 1: fellow made up top? It was like three by one,
- 1:41:19Speaker 1: but speed was outside. Speed was at three. Yeah, the
- 1:41:22Speaker 1: back was deep as in a far set. But he
- 1:41:25Speaker 1: goes behind the quarterback and flares out to the three side.
- 1:41:28Speaker 1: And the backrup top, who was like man on the
- 1:41:30Speaker 1: number three, he had tunnel vision. He wasn't my man
- 1:41:33Speaker 1: wasn't even looking in the backfield. So he could help
- 1:41:35Speaker 1: himself out by looking in the backfield. But the guy
- 1:41:36Speaker 1: who's blitzing down at the bottom, like, hey, how can
- 1:41:38Speaker 1: you help out your fellow made up top? Let him
- 1:41:40Speaker 1: know that the back is deep, and when he flares
- 1:41:42Speaker 1: across you, guys are already anticipating that you're not reacting
- 1:41:44Speaker 1: to it.
- 1:41:45Speaker 3: So just in.
- 1:41:46Speaker 1: Case one day when I put on this, put on
- 1:41:48Speaker 1: the exchange the microphone for a whistle.
- 1:41:50Speaker 3: That'll be my interview for you. Stay ready, yeah, I
- 1:41:52Speaker 3: stay ready so you don't have to get ready.
- 1:41:53Speaker 2: Man, that's right.
- 1:41:54Speaker 6: That poor linebacker coach is done. He's will confident.
- 1:41:59Speaker 3: He's like, that's it. He's like, that's a that's a
- 1:42:00Speaker 3: great point. Yeah, the yarps on it again.
- 1:42:03Speaker 6: I mean that was nice, right, you got you got
- 1:42:05Speaker 6: juicy up a little.
- 1:42:05Speaker 2: I get excited a little three four exchange.
- 1:42:07Speaker 1: But you know, the inside back of room, like you
- 1:42:09Speaker 1: got like that room, communication is what it runs through.
- 1:42:12Speaker 13: And in the NFL it's I'm glad this is transitioned
- 1:42:14Speaker 13: down to college now you get you want green dot guys. Yeah,
- 1:42:17Speaker 13: you want guys that can can get everybody on the
- 1:42:19Speaker 13: field lined up.
- 1:42:20Speaker 2: Yeah, that's your job in linebacker, so super important.
- 1:42:24Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:42:24Speaker 6: I think I noticed you guys have is a lot
- 1:42:26Speaker 6: I'm not going to get too much into it because
- 1:42:28Speaker 6: it's a little bit in the weeds, but like, you
- 1:42:29Speaker 6: guys have a lot of verbiage. Yeah, do you guys
- 1:42:32Speaker 6: just have a lot of verbage right now because the
- 1:42:33Speaker 6: spring ball and you'll kind of like tone it down
- 1:42:34Speaker 6: a little bit when you get to fall.
- 1:42:35Speaker 13: I mean some of these things will later on become
- 1:42:37Speaker 13: one word calls or things like that, right, but right
- 1:42:40Speaker 13: now we're throwing the kitchen sink at these guys, right right,
- 1:42:42Speaker 13: It'll be the same thing in fall camp. I want
- 1:42:44Speaker 13: to always go into a game with enough weapons, right
- 1:42:46Speaker 13: and be like, all right, where do we need to navigate?
- 1:42:48Speaker 2: Where do we need to adjust? And it's it's really
- 1:42:50Speaker 2: both sides of the ball.
- 1:42:51Speaker 3: Uh.
- 1:42:52Speaker 13: And then you hope when you get into a game,
- 1:42:53Speaker 13: like you guys know that that scope narrows a little bit,
- 1:42:55Speaker 13: like what are the ten runs that we love? What
- 1:42:57Speaker 13: are the ten passes? And because was a little bit smaller,
- 1:43:00Speaker 13: same with coverages.
- 1:43:01Speaker 1: How is it for the midyear guys? I think you
- 1:43:04Speaker 1: like this era of college football. There's a lot more
- 1:43:06Speaker 1: mid year guys that are coming in early. Yeah, most
- 1:43:08Speaker 1: I got to meet one of them down in the
- 1:43:10Speaker 1: tuffs deal. Deer deer yeah, deer hill, deer hill. There
- 1:43:16Speaker 1: he is, Yeah, Saint Louis guy.
- 1:43:18Speaker 3: Saint Louis guy.
- 1:43:19Speaker 1: But I'm sitting there talking with him, and you know,
- 1:43:20Speaker 1: I ended up telling him like, hey, you got a
- 1:43:22Speaker 1: pretty good head on your shoulders. But he just seemed
- 1:43:23Speaker 1: like a sponge and I'm just thinking it feels rare
- 1:43:26Speaker 1: for a mid year young guy. He's like, oh, this
- 1:43:28Speaker 1: is my second week here. I'm like, this is your
- 1:43:29Speaker 1: second week here, Like, how has everything been?
- 1:43:32Speaker 8: Like?
- 1:43:32Speaker 3: Because it's a massive jo.
- 1:43:33Speaker 2: You drinking firehose?
- 1:43:34Speaker 13: Yeah hard, It's really hard for that guy that just
- 1:43:37Speaker 13: like he just started because we were a quarter system.
- 1:43:39Speaker 2: He just joined this quarter.
- 1:43:40Speaker 13: A lot of guys joined in January right where they
- 1:43:43Speaker 13: have a little bit more time for walk through. There
- 1:43:45Speaker 13: were three guys that joined us in this window and
- 1:43:47Speaker 13: it is you're you're drinking out of a fire hose, right,
- 1:43:50Speaker 13: but yeah, make mistakes full speed and we'll figure it out.
- 1:43:54Speaker 3: You have something.
- 1:43:54Speaker 6: Yeah with Well, I want to go back to, like
- 1:43:57Speaker 6: the speaking in front of the team. How is it
- 1:44:00Speaker 6: for you when you first started approaching, like having to
- 1:44:02Speaker 6: sit in front of like a defensive meeting room or
- 1:44:04Speaker 6: a linebacker's room or a secondary room, And how did
- 1:44:07Speaker 6: you like gain the confidence is when you walked in,
- 1:44:10Speaker 6: you were you were handling the boys the correct way.
- 1:44:12Speaker 6: You're working in the room a little bit. You had
- 1:44:14Speaker 6: a couple of nice place jokes like you just seem
- 1:44:16Speaker 6: like you're firing all cylinders. Obviously you've had a lot
- 1:44:18Speaker 6: of reps at it now, but when you first started, Like,
- 1:44:20Speaker 6: what was the most difficult part for you? Did you
- 1:44:21Speaker 6: ever have issue with that?
- 1:44:23Speaker 13: I don't know that it ever really bothered me. I
- 1:44:25Speaker 13: felt like I had a lot of great training. I
- 1:44:27Speaker 13: got to go watch Kirby Smart do it every day.
- 1:44:28Speaker 13: I got to watch Nick Saban do it. I got
- 1:44:30Speaker 13: to watch Mike Norvel do it. And and for me,
- 1:44:32Speaker 13: whatever seat I was sitting in, I was always trying
- 1:44:34Speaker 13: to prepare myself for.
- 1:44:34Speaker 2: The next seat.
- 1:44:35Speaker 3: Now.
- 1:44:36Speaker 13: I think early on, when you have to go talk
- 1:44:37Speaker 13: to a team the first time, you're like writing down
- 1:44:39Speaker 13: every note you are you are practicing.
- 1:44:41Speaker 2: You're like, okay, what do I need to hit?
- 1:44:43Speaker 13: Now it's something that you're a lot more comfortable with,
- 1:44:45Speaker 13: and as long as you have a plan a process,
- 1:44:48Speaker 13: you can hit it.
- 1:44:50Speaker 1: Back in that first Ohio State game, the twelve players
- 1:44:54Speaker 1: on the field, yeah, can you talk just about it
- 1:44:56Speaker 1: because I think there's a new rule now, Yeah.
- 1:44:57Speaker 2: There is a new room. Can't do anymore.
- 1:45:01Speaker 13: Well, I mean, ultimately, you work unbelievable, Like don't you
- 1:45:05Speaker 13: guys saw on our walk through today we worked like
- 1:45:07Speaker 13: into game situations like okay, the difference in ten seconds
- 1:45:10Speaker 13: left in the game versus six seconds or five seconds
- 1:45:12Speaker 13: in the end game, and how your calls are going
- 1:45:14Speaker 13: to change. I mean, you prepare for so many inordinate situations, right,
- 1:45:17Speaker 13: and there's one where you get an opportunity to call
- 1:45:20Speaker 13: time out.
- 1:45:20Speaker 2: Try to get it, you.
- 1:45:21Speaker 13: Know a little bit of an advantage and times more
- 1:45:22Speaker 13: valuable at that point in the game than yardage, right,
- 1:45:25Speaker 13: And it worked out.
- 1:45:27Speaker 2: But now it's a different rules, so we can't do
- 1:45:28Speaker 2: it anymore.
- 1:45:29Speaker 1: How were you able to kind of expose that rule
- 1:45:31Speaker 1: like it was that something you came across kind of
- 1:45:33Speaker 1: that year, years prior something situationally that obviously you bring
- 1:45:37Speaker 1: up throughout the year.
- 1:45:38Speaker 3: But when was the moment where you were able.
- 1:45:39Speaker 1: To be like, hey, if this pops up, like this
- 1:45:42Speaker 1: is something to where we can leverage this rule in
- 1:45:44Speaker 1: our favor.
- 1:45:45Speaker 13: You know, I think you know Vrabel always did it
- 1:45:47Speaker 13: with like you got you You're looking for every advantage
- 1:45:50Speaker 13: you can create, right in football, whatever the rule might be,
- 1:45:53Speaker 13: like you see a lot more often now defensively. Let's
- 1:45:57Speaker 13: say it's like a four minute situation, you got to
- 1:45:59Speaker 13: get the ball back for the offense. Right, there's a
- 1:46:01Speaker 13: five yard penalty, right, and now it's first and five.
- 1:46:05Speaker 13: But the reality is, you don't you don't feel like
- 1:46:07Speaker 13: you could probably stop a five. You know they have
- 1:46:08Speaker 13: four downs to get five. I'm gonna jump off sides,
- 1:46:11Speaker 13: give them an automatic first, right, so we can get
- 1:46:13Speaker 13: the clock.
- 1:46:14Speaker 2: Back to an advantage for us defensively.
- 1:46:16Speaker 13: So like there's moments where you might intentionally jump off sides,
- 1:46:19Speaker 13: you talk through all those scenarios where a penalty makes
- 1:46:22Speaker 13: sense where it's better to get a pass interference in
- 1:46:24Speaker 13: this situation than to give up a big play, right,
- 1:46:26Speaker 13: and then you get to a certain level of the field.
- 1:46:28Speaker 13: We spend time on those every single week, right as
- 1:46:31Speaker 13: a coaching staff. Some of them show up a lot
- 1:46:33Speaker 13: more often than others, you know. But we have a
- 1:46:35Speaker 13: group that really works with us when it comes to
- 1:46:37Speaker 13: analytics and win's the right penalty to take, what's the
- 1:46:39Speaker 13: wrong penalty to take? And when you have a team
- 1:46:41Speaker 13: right that's able to assess those situations, you can attack it.
- 1:46:44Speaker 6: Do you have like a one guy that kind of
- 1:46:46Speaker 6: really looks into those details for you, like you brought
- 1:46:48Speaker 6: up Vrabel Raybo's got a guy named John Striker, right,
- 1:46:50Speaker 6: who legends he's a legend, But he was the guy
- 1:46:53Speaker 6: that would bring these types of situations. And one of
- 1:46:55Speaker 6: the situations that was a rule change after was twenty
- 1:46:58Speaker 6: nineteen Wildcard game versus Patriots, and we killed the clock
- 1:47:01Speaker 6: a bunch on punt team because we took a delay
- 1:47:03Speaker 6: game twice and then a false start and that killed
- 1:47:06Speaker 6: a bunch of time off the clock. Bill belichicks the
- 1:47:08Speaker 6: other side screaming his face off. Well, Raves is quietly
- 1:47:11Speaker 6: laughing and thinking about hitting his jewel after the game.
- 1:47:13Speaker 6: So that ends up changing, but stretches the guy that
- 1:47:16Speaker 6: brings all that to him. Do you have somebody like, hey,
- 1:47:18Speaker 6: I need you to find the gray area rules so
- 1:47:21Speaker 6: we can exploit them.
- 1:47:22Speaker 13: So we work, we have a couple guys instead of
- 1:47:24Speaker 13: having just one guy that's in charge. I've always kind
- 1:47:26Speaker 13: of found it's just like having you have a defensive coordinator,
- 1:47:28Speaker 13: you get a codc right, So we have a couple
- 1:47:30Speaker 13: guys that are help with those situations, like the designated
- 1:47:34Speaker 13: guy on offense and defense, and then just like overall
- 1:47:36Speaker 13: personnel that's evaluating that, you know, throughout games and then
- 1:47:40Speaker 13: on like Thursdays, I like to play the game with
- 1:47:42Speaker 13: the coaches before the game. So Thursday is really kind
- 1:47:45Speaker 13: of our last heavy practice. Right after that's over with,
- 1:47:47Speaker 13: we'll throw on a TV copy of a game right
- 1:47:50Speaker 13: of an opponent that we're about to play. If we're
- 1:47:51Speaker 13: playing them at home, right, we'll watch one of their
- 1:47:54Speaker 13: away games right on TV, and then a lot of
- 1:47:56Speaker 13: those situations will come up. So you're just talking through
- 1:47:58Speaker 13: it as a staff, right, like what openers do you
- 1:48:01Speaker 13: like here? And he's calling this, he's calling the offense
- 1:48:03Speaker 13: like you call the offense. But now you're also saying,
- 1:48:05Speaker 13: all right, third and one. We see this as a
- 1:48:07Speaker 13: go trying to make those decisions before you get the
- 1:48:09Speaker 13: game day. That way, when you get the game day,
- 1:48:11Speaker 13: it's kind of like smooth sailing, like, you know, always trying.
- 1:48:14Speaker 2: To create those moments in practice.
- 1:48:16Speaker 13: That four minute two minute scenario that we had in
- 1:48:17Speaker 13: practice yesterday, Like we're trying to decide is this a scenario.
- 1:48:21Speaker 2: Where we would use our time out?
- 1:48:23Speaker 13: You know, so our players if you come and ask
- 1:48:24Speaker 13: them in the room, like hey, when does Coach Landing
- 1:48:26Speaker 13: like to use this timeouts, they're like, okay, around thirty
- 1:48:28Speaker 13: to thirty five seconds if we have three timeouts, that's
- 1:48:31Speaker 13: where he likes to use it. So now we step
- 1:48:33Speaker 13: on the field, you know what our temperament's going to
- 1:48:35Speaker 13: be right. In those situations you're not you know not
- 1:48:37Speaker 13: you know, and you make mistakes at practice, but that's
- 1:48:39Speaker 13: where mistakes have to happen. But if we're all on
- 1:48:41Speaker 13: the same page, right, that's where you know, it becomes advantageous.
- 1:48:45Speaker 1: In last year when the twelfth player one, did the
- 1:48:47Speaker 1: twelfth player know what was happening or you like, hey,
- 1:48:50Speaker 1: go stand out there and we call stand out.
- 1:48:51Speaker 13: There until we say protect the sideline, just kind of say,
- 1:48:54Speaker 13: get it's not one of those ones you're gonna spend
- 1:48:55Speaker 13: a ton of practice time on.
- 1:48:56Speaker 9: Right.
- 1:48:57Speaker 13: Right, we call coverage with inside leverage and we threw
- 1:48:59Speaker 13: an extra guy with outside leverage of the sideline.
- 1:49:01Speaker 6: Did that guy did you tell him or you say, hey,
- 1:49:04Speaker 6: just want to sew.
- 1:49:05Speaker 13: In the moment, but didn't really know what in them
- 1:49:07Speaker 13: he didn't know a situation You don't do it.
- 1:49:08Speaker 2: Every single week. There was there wasn't a lot of clarity.
- 1:49:11Speaker 1: I don't want to see if rape had one like
- 1:49:12Speaker 1: that too, where it was like Josh klou was on
- 1:49:14Speaker 1: the side, he said, Josh, go out there and stand
- 1:49:15Speaker 1: just stand out there by the.
- 1:49:16Speaker 6: Way against the Colts.
- 1:49:17Speaker 2: Yeah, sometimes you'll do that.
- 1:49:18Speaker 13: Like let's say you rather take a penalty, uh, you know,
- 1:49:21Speaker 13: have twelve guys on the field if they're at the
- 1:49:23Speaker 13: three yard line right and and not having no play happen,
- 1:49:27Speaker 13: rather than us being the wrong formation or the the
- 1:49:29Speaker 13: wrong alignment or not. Everybody on the same call like, Okay,
- 1:49:32Speaker 13: give me half the distance to the goal so we
- 1:49:33Speaker 13: get another chance to stop him.
- 1:49:35Speaker 6: Does a piece of you smile when you get the
- 1:49:37Speaker 6: twelve men on the field call and you feel the
- 1:49:39Speaker 6: crowd of like, oh, because there's such a huge part
- 1:49:41Speaker 6: of the game, like no one knows what you're doing
- 1:49:43Speaker 6: except for you and the people that truly know ball.
- 1:49:45Speaker 6: It's like a little smile on your face. It's like
- 1:49:47Speaker 6: these idiots in.
- 1:49:48Speaker 13: The really in the back of your mind you're saying, wait,
- 1:49:50Speaker 13: I hope that is what we thought it was, right, ye, Like,
- 1:49:52Speaker 13: I hope he didn't screw that up, right.
- 1:49:53Speaker 2: But I try not to think about what everybody else
- 1:49:56Speaker 2: is thinking about this moment.
- 1:49:57Speaker 6: I mean to think of that in that moment is
- 1:49:59Speaker 6: just it's good. It's good brain thinking.
- 1:50:02Speaker 2: We got good, got a great staff, here.
- 1:50:03Speaker 6: You're you're very polished in that regard, extremely polished, And
- 1:50:07Speaker 6: I mean that as a massive compliment too, Like you're
- 1:50:09Speaker 6: you're you're not a guy that's ever gonna take credit.
- 1:50:11Speaker 6: You're always not playing in the game. Addition, you're a
- 1:50:13Speaker 6: point guard.
- 1:50:14Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm not playing the game, right.
- 1:50:15Speaker 13: We got we got great people here, Like everybody thinks
- 1:50:17Speaker 13: about Oregon and like great facility's awesome jerseys all, Like, really, truly,
- 1:50:22Speaker 13: the people here is what what.
- 1:50:23Speaker 2: Makes this thing different. And I got great people.
- 1:50:25Speaker 6: Yeah, a good group of guys.
- 1:50:27Speaker 1: We can't we can't run a pot either. Just just
- 1:50:29Speaker 1: in the middle of the episode, just shout out the committee.
- 1:50:31Speaker 1: That's all I'm gonna say about it. But I just
- 1:50:32Speaker 1: want to show shout out to the committee.
- 1:50:33Speaker 2: Yeah, oh yeah, we'll talk about tonight.
- 1:50:37Speaker 6: Yeah, I'm a we'm aware ish ish big ten.
- 1:50:43Speaker 3: Yeah, first year.
- 1:50:44Speaker 2: Yeah, you obviously.
- 1:50:45Speaker 6: Went thirteen to know you want to be ten championship.
- 1:50:47Speaker 6: So you had a lot of success, right, Was it
- 1:50:49Speaker 6: what you expected going from the PAC twelve?
- 1:50:52Speaker 13: I mean, I loved everything about it. I enjoyed being
- 1:50:54Speaker 13: in this conference. I think it starts with our conference,
- 1:50:56Speaker 13: you know, with Tony Pettiti our conference commissioner, the schools
- 1:50:59Speaker 13: that are a part of it make this a lot
- 1:51:01Speaker 13: of fun.
- 1:51:02Speaker 2: You know.
- 1:51:02Speaker 13: The travel for football is a lot different than maybe
- 1:51:04Speaker 13: the other sports. Like it's enjoyable, you know for us.
- 1:51:07Speaker 13: So yeah, it was everything I hope it would be.
- 1:51:09Speaker 13: You know, you got some unbelievable teams, you know, really
- 1:51:11Speaker 13: competitive conference, some really cool venues.
- 1:51:14Speaker 7: Uh.
- 1:51:14Speaker 2: I think it's a lot of fun for our players
- 1:51:16Speaker 2: and our staff.
- 1:51:17Speaker 3: You itching to get the Nebraska game on the schedule.
- 1:51:20Speaker 3: We have them want in two years, right, Yeah, you're
- 1:51:22Speaker 3: gonna be.
- 1:51:22Speaker 6: There, Dole dies, he will be there. We we were
- 1:51:28Speaker 6: doing the full the first two weeks. I think we're
- 1:51:30Speaker 6: at Nebraska both times.
- 1:51:31Speaker 2: Yeah, of course we said there.
- 1:51:34Speaker 6: We got to hit down one.
- 1:51:35Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:51:36Speaker 6: Basically we'll put this coaching head on. It'll be you
- 1:51:38Speaker 6: guys in Nebraska fighting topic at the bit.
- 1:51:40Speaker 13: When you play, when you play in c AA, is
- 1:51:41Speaker 13: that you always play at Nebraska?
- 1:51:43Speaker 3: Yeah? Always yeah, Yeah, Yeah, it's a squad.
- 1:51:46Speaker 6: What what was Was there any stadiums that you were
- 1:51:48Speaker 6: like really impressed by under one by maybe one stadium?
- 1:51:52Speaker 1: No, I mean, come say who you're under the boys?
- 1:51:57Speaker 11: The boys?
- 1:51:58Speaker 6: The Boys. I am billion people.
- 1:52:00Speaker 2: No, I wasn't. There was nothing that I was underwhelmed with.
- 1:52:03Speaker 3: Hang on, did you hang on?
- 1:52:04Speaker 1: Let me ask this because I don't know where you guys,
- 1:52:06Speaker 1: you know, did you play at Michigan?
- 1:52:07Speaker 6: Yeah, he played play at Michigan.
- 1:52:08Speaker 13: Yeah, it was an awesome atmosphere. I mean, big stadium.
- 1:52:13Speaker 3: The underwhelming.
- 1:52:14Speaker 6: Also, it's not as it's one hundred and fifteen thousand people.
- 1:52:17Speaker 6: It's not as loud as it should. Betson Stadium is
- 1:52:19Speaker 6: louder than Yes, Watson Stadium is.
- 1:52:22Speaker 2: I mean, you guys experienced the first hand.
- 1:52:23Speaker 6: It's okay to say truths.
- 1:52:25Speaker 2: That's all right.
- 1:52:26Speaker 6: Yeah, that's the truth. So it's a little bit underwhelming.
- 1:52:28Speaker 6: You think about one hundred feenousand people.
- 1:52:30Speaker 2: It's just different. Maybe it's built different.
- 1:52:31Speaker 8: I don't know.
- 1:52:31Speaker 6: I mean, yeah, it is built it it's like a bowl.
- 1:52:33Speaker 6: It's built out.
- 1:52:34Speaker 1: You kind of like when I played at Michigan. You're
- 1:52:37Speaker 1: like excited to play, are you guys? The biggest stadium?
- 1:52:40Speaker 6: Yeah, in North America, the third biggest in the world, but.
- 1:52:42Speaker 3: In college football yeah yeah. Yeah. You guys just.
- 1:52:44Speaker 2: Gotta be uncomfortable.
- 1:52:45Speaker 1: See you're a bench style and you're thinking it's going
- 1:52:49Speaker 1: to be sick to play in front of one hundred
- 1:52:51Speaker 1: and fifteen thousand people. But then when the game starts,
- 1:52:53Speaker 1: your your brain more so goes to it's cool playing
- 1:52:55Speaker 1: in a like a tradition spot like this, like a
- 1:52:57Speaker 1: like a historic player.
- 1:52:58Speaker 2: There's nothing cool get played there.
- 1:53:00Speaker 6: It wasn't loud because we.
- 1:53:01Speaker 1: Right right, you get all like, Okay, it's not as
- 1:53:03Speaker 1: loud as I thought it'd be, but it's still sick
- 1:53:05Speaker 1: to play in the big house, right.
- 1:53:06Speaker 6: But we also like there wasn't a lot to get
- 1:53:07Speaker 6: cheer about because we we kind of handled the Braskt
- 1:53:09Speaker 6: when we played.
- 1:53:10Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah again, I wasn't I wasn't like you to
- 1:53:13Speaker 3: throw that.
- 1:53:14Speaker 13: How he goes like defense immediately goes in defense mode.
- 1:53:17Speaker 6: I'm just trying to throw the pot a little bit.
- 1:53:19Speaker 6: Yeah pot. The next year, your senior year.
- 1:53:22Speaker 3: Yeah you guys.
- 1:53:23Speaker 2: Ever, like this year we get to play it at
- 1:53:25Speaker 2: Penn State. That'll be one. That's when I hear it's
- 1:53:28Speaker 2: pretty loud, be a fun, fun environment.
- 1:53:31Speaker 6: Is allowed to I think here might be.
- 1:53:35Speaker 2: Here's loud, man, the game.
- 1:53:37Speaker 3: The game came to the.
- 1:53:38Speaker 6: State, I think it might be louder because it's more
- 1:53:41Speaker 6: but maybe not a state, but here. I was extremely impressed.
- 1:53:45Speaker 2: Was we got a good crowd, man, Yeah, got a
- 1:53:47Speaker 2: good crowd.
- 1:53:50Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:53:51Speaker 1: The students that yeah, student section was the love ball
- 1:53:53Speaker 1: full active full. But what's interesting is we went and
- 1:53:58Speaker 1: got breakfast that morning and there seems to be like
- 1:54:00Speaker 1: nobody like there's no weights.
- 1:54:02Speaker 2: Calm before the storm. Yeah, it's calm before the storm.
- 1:54:05Speaker 3: But I feel like everywhere else it's like there's traffic
- 1:54:07Speaker 3: storm storm.
- 1:54:08Speaker 2: Maybe we got great traffic storm. Maybe we got great
- 1:54:12Speaker 2: control man, great road.
- 1:54:13Speaker 3: Was you gotta play him?
- 1:54:14Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 1:54:15Speaker 3: Should we hit the should we hit the spicy tear talk? Yeah?
- 1:54:19Speaker 3: All right? JP? Question do you do you want to hold? Yeah?
- 1:54:21Speaker 3: Hold the mic?
- 1:54:22Speaker 1: You know the audience would be going crazy in the comments.
- 1:54:28Speaker 8: If you could spend one day with a coach that
- 1:54:30Speaker 8: didn't coach football, who would it be and why they
- 1:54:34Speaker 8: can be active, they could be retired, they could be deceased.
- 1:54:39Speaker 13: Any any coach in the history. Probably John Wooden, Yeah, right,
- 1:54:42Speaker 13: Like I mean, Geno, what he's doing right now is
- 1:54:45Speaker 13: super impressive, right, But I wouldn't. It's got a lot
- 1:54:48Speaker 13: a lot of books and a lot of things that
- 1:54:50Speaker 13: you know, kind of speak to me, right. The way
- 1:54:52Speaker 13: he coached how he did it, maybe a little different
- 1:54:54Speaker 13: perspective of the game.
- 1:54:55Speaker 2: So yeah, he's probably one that falls in that category.
- 1:54:57Speaker 8: He seems like a because I love John Wooden Find
- 1:55:00Speaker 8: your Broom. Yeah, it's like every day he's the one
- 1:55:03Speaker 8: that sweeping the gym the ship and he tells his
- 1:55:05Speaker 8: players find your broom.
- 1:55:06Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:55:07Speaker 8: I feel like Coach Landing is a find your broom coach.
- 1:55:11Speaker 3: What's been What's been a recent book of viewers that
- 1:55:12Speaker 3: has grabbed at.
- 1:55:13Speaker 13: I've done a poor job reading this this offseason, like
- 1:55:16Speaker 13: post Spring, because what was the book last year we
- 1:55:19Speaker 13: were in I mean we read The Art of War
- 1:55:20Speaker 13: soun Sue. That was one of the ones that's always classics,
- 1:55:24Speaker 13: that's an easy read. So got to pick up some
- 1:55:26Speaker 13: new material. It's time to hop back into something. I
- 1:55:28Speaker 13: always like the Ryan Holiday books.
- 1:55:31Speaker 2: I'm a huge fan.
- 1:55:33Speaker 13: Uh like The Tipping Point, Malcolm Gladwell books, like I
- 1:55:37Speaker 13: think they kind of put science behind events that happened
- 1:55:40Speaker 13: in history. I think Malcolm Gladwell is definitely a fun
- 1:55:43Speaker 13: one for me to read.
- 1:55:45Speaker 6: The uh you hope by the Balance. I just want
- 1:55:47Speaker 6: to know that the family, the family dynamic you talk
- 1:55:50Speaker 6: about all the sacrifices tooked to earlier, Like, how intentionally
- 1:55:53Speaker 6: are you now about having some balance in your life
- 1:55:56Speaker 6: with family and work?
- 1:55:57Speaker 13: Yeah, so it definitely still doesn't exist. Right, There still
- 1:55:59Speaker 13: isn't balance, but when there is, like when we have time.
- 1:56:02Speaker 2: We're very intentional.
- 1:56:03Speaker 3: Yeah, right.
- 1:56:03Speaker 2: Have you guys ever seen the movie pay It Forward?
- 1:56:07Speaker 13: Completely underrated movie, Kevin Spacey, Holly Haley, Joel alright, I
- 1:56:12Speaker 13: think it's Haley. I think I was in sixth sense
- 1:56:14Speaker 13: little kids. Like last night we got home, it was eight.
- 1:56:17Speaker 13: Generally the boys go to bed at like nine thirty ish, right,
- 1:56:21Speaker 13: and I said, we're staying up. We're watching the movie
- 1:56:23Speaker 13: we watch paid for. They've never seen it, Like, I'm
- 1:56:25Speaker 13: the movie guy in our house. I'm so it might
- 1:56:27Speaker 13: be an intentional thing like that. Obviously we're all sitting
- 1:56:29Speaker 13: on the couch, not necessarily talking, but when we have
- 1:56:31Speaker 13: an opportunity.
- 1:56:31Speaker 3: But yeah, watch with my dad to stay up late,
- 1:56:36Speaker 3: watch a movie.
- 1:56:36Speaker 2: Yeah, let's stay up late and Pay It Forward.
- 1:56:39Speaker 13: Have you seen if you haven't seen it, Rotten Tomatoes
- 1:56:41Speaker 13: has it listed way too low.
- 1:56:43Speaker 2: Great movie, great movie.
- 1:56:45Speaker 6: Yeah, that's a tear jer movie.
- 1:56:47Speaker 3: Guy.
- 1:56:48Speaker 2: Yeah, Rod, they don't know what they're talking about.
- 1:56:50Speaker 3: They don't know what they're talking about.
- 1:56:52Speaker 2: Sometimes they don't. Sometimes they get it wrong.
- 1:56:53Speaker 3: Do you watch Severs? I haven't.
- 1:56:55Speaker 13: It was okay, so I started. It took me some
- 1:56:58Speaker 13: time here, I'm not yeah, not caught up.
- 1:57:00Speaker 2: I kind of bailed.
- 1:57:02Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:57:02Speaker 2: Do I need to recommit to it?
- 1:57:04Speaker 3: Absolutely?
- 1:57:05Speaker 1: But I think in your line of work it would
- 1:57:06Speaker 1: be really hard to because it's one of those It's
- 1:57:08Speaker 1: one of those shows that you have to be There's
- 1:57:11Speaker 1: so many theories that are going on.
- 1:57:12Speaker 3: Did you watch Game of Thrones? I did.
- 1:57:14Speaker 2: That was during COVID. That was like convenient.
- 1:57:16Speaker 1: Yeah, but you know all the storylines that are happening
- 1:57:18Speaker 1: in Game of Thrones and then all the theories that
- 1:57:19Speaker 1: would take place to where you talk with your boys
- 1:57:21Speaker 1: at work or talking with whoever's watching Game of Thrones
- 1:57:23Speaker 1: at the time. Severance is like that, So you need
- 1:57:26Speaker 1: you need to have some dedicated time.
- 1:57:27Speaker 13: To The one I liked most recently is the Billy
- 1:57:29Speaker 13: Bob Thornton one h Oh, the the Man.
- 1:57:35Speaker 6: I've seen a couple of clips on YouTube that's definitely.
- 1:57:38Speaker 2: Anybody that hasn't watched it, lamb Man's the show?
- 1:57:40Speaker 3: Check it out?
- 1:57:41Speaker 2: Yeah, what's that shor No, was that like Jersey Shore?
- 1:57:46Speaker 3: What is that?
- 1:57:48Speaker 6: Pretty awesome? To hockey show?
- 1:57:49Speaker 2: Hockey show.
- 1:57:50Speaker 6: This guy named Jered Kizo he started a YouTube channel
- 1:57:52Speaker 6: called letter Kenny and it used to be like these
- 1:57:54Speaker 6: common problems in small town Canada. He has a spinoff
- 1:57:57Speaker 6: character and it named Shores. You don't see his face
- 1:57:59Speaker 6: because Kizil plays the main character and he plays Schorsy.
- 1:58:02Speaker 6: He's like a ship talking junior hockey guy. But the episodes,
- 1:58:05Speaker 6: there's only six episodes per season. They're only twenty minutes each,
- 1:58:08Speaker 6: so it's a really fast watch, all right. And the
- 1:58:10Speaker 6: show itself, it's like it's a decent storyline, but it's
- 1:58:12Speaker 6: very funny, like comedic jokes. Oh, the whole scene is
- 1:58:15Speaker 6: just about one run like one run on sentence that
- 1:58:18Speaker 6: is just joke after joke, all right.
- 1:58:20Speaker 2: And then and what subscription service do I have to have?
- 1:58:24Speaker 13: I don't have that one would I'm not ready to
- 1:58:25Speaker 13: commit to another subscription?
- 1:58:27Speaker 3: Put you committed to a bronco? I did.
- 1:58:30Speaker 2: I thought about it. I planned it out, like.
- 1:58:33Speaker 3: What what subscriptions are in the landing household?
- 1:58:35Speaker 13: I mean we got Netflix, we got Amazon Prime, right,
- 1:58:38Speaker 13: and I got the paramount because this Taylor Sheridan dude,
- 1:58:41Speaker 13: he just makes banger after banger after bank.
- 1:58:43Speaker 3: Right, he's a Yellowstone guy. Yeah, Yellowstone, And you kind
- 1:58:46Speaker 3: of hate how the last season.
- 1:58:47Speaker 2: I didn't watch the last season, so I fell out.
- 1:58:49Speaker 2: I fell out, you know, they kind of fell He's.
- 1:58:52Speaker 6: Only committed to his family and his football team. It
- 1:58:54Speaker 6: sounds like he doesn't finish one show.
- 1:58:56Speaker 13: I finished, man, legit, like here's what happens, Here's what
- 1:59:00Speaker 13: coaching is. And you guys know this, like you get
- 1:59:02Speaker 13: like a all right, you got spring break. I got
- 1:59:04Speaker 13: these like seven days or six days I.
- 1:59:07Speaker 2: Could have, right, Instead, I hung out with a family.
- 1:59:10Speaker 13: But I should have maybe, you know, maybe it should
- 1:59:11Speaker 13: have checked out trying to play Like those shows to
- 1:59:14Speaker 13: me are like late night kids are to bed.
- 1:59:16Speaker 2: I'm gonna pop.
- 1:59:16Speaker 13: I'm gonna hit like an hour show and I can.
- 1:59:19Speaker 13: And you got a window a time when you can
- 1:59:20Speaker 13: do it. If it's spring ball, you don't necessarily have
- 1:59:23Speaker 13: those windows. If it's fall camp, you're you know, you
- 1:59:25Speaker 13: don't always have the windows to catch a show.
- 1:59:26Speaker 2: I'm not watching the show during football season.
- 1:59:29Speaker 3: Yeah, right, So I.
- 1:59:30Speaker 13: Don't know, maybe Yellowstone I feel like that that next
- 1:59:32Speaker 13: season came out maybe during football.
- 1:59:34Speaker 3: Don't waste your time?
- 1:59:35Speaker 2: Not ready for Okay, so I won't though.
- 1:59:39Speaker 3: Watch So I'm I'm not gonna.
- 1:59:40Speaker 2: Get Hulu though, maybe will you get Can I get
- 1:59:42Speaker 2: your subscription?
- 1:59:43Speaker 3: I got you deal. So I'm assuming you don't play
- 1:59:45Speaker 3: Xbox I don't.
- 1:59:47Speaker 6: We do have are with the boys.
- 1:59:51Speaker 2: We have a we have a PS five at our house.
- 1:59:53Speaker 3: We have a committee. Yeah, yeah, yeah, we.
- 1:59:55Speaker 13: Have a we have a PS five. I think that's
- 1:59:57Speaker 13: what it's called PS five in our house. You know
- 1:59:58Speaker 13: that gets played. I I don't really get to play it,
- 2:00:00Speaker 13: but hold your boys fifteen, thirteen, and twelve.
- 2:00:03Speaker 6: Oh yeah, so they're they're invested in the game, invested.
- 2:00:06Speaker 6: They play PUBG.
- 2:00:07Speaker 2: What's that?
- 2:00:07Speaker 6: Did they play PUBG?
- 2:00:08Speaker 13: I don't know what games did they play? Minecraft's kind
- 2:00:10Speaker 13: of big one? And then uh, I think Rainbow six
- 2:00:13Speaker 13: is that is that? It's up my alley, that's up
- 2:00:17Speaker 13: my ass. So before it was was pretty hot, right yeah?
- 2:00:21Speaker 2: Is that still a thing?
- 2:00:22Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 2:00:22Speaker 1: Call of Duty's always hot, but Rainbow six is it's
- 2:00:25Speaker 1: a great game. No, it's not new, it's well.
- 2:00:27Speaker 2: I know I remember that there was no one, but
- 2:00:29Speaker 2: that's kind of hot.
- 2:00:29Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, they've like built on like today, like this
- 2:00:32Speaker 1: day and age. They're always just doing add ons. Okay,
- 2:00:34Speaker 1: but Rainbow six is a great game. So tell your
- 2:00:36Speaker 1: boys are doing it right, all right.
- 2:00:37Speaker 6: Red dev Redemption two, if your boys are into it?
- 2:00:40Speaker 2: Okay, I cried, cried d in the video game, I cry.
- 2:00:43Speaker 3: I cried, Oh there's.
- 2:00:44Speaker 2: A showers is a video game? Video a video game
- 2:00:46Speaker 2: should during the video.
- 2:00:47Speaker 6: Game coach all about to say, buddy, coach twenty twenty
- 2:00:51Speaker 6: was it two? I didn't my second ACL twenty twenty two?
- 2:00:53Speaker 6: I got my second A cl done. Might have been
- 2:00:55Speaker 6: because I knew the career was over. Might have been
- 2:00:57Speaker 6: a whole bunch of different things. But I had seven
- 2:00:58Speaker 6: eight days just me and my wife, and I played
- 2:01:01Speaker 6: this game start to finish. What was on me about
- 2:01:03Speaker 6: playing the game?
- 2:01:04Speaker 3: It's great?
- 2:01:05Speaker 6: I play this game start to finish. This guy named
- 2:01:06Speaker 6: Arthur Morgan like just a heartened outlaw. Right, you're a
- 2:01:09Speaker 6: gang in Old West. It's like late eighteen hundreds and
- 2:01:12Speaker 6: you're just working through and you're with this guy Dutch
- 2:01:14Speaker 6: Fandolin and the end of the game. Do you want
- 2:01:16Speaker 6: me to tell you the ending?
- 2:01:17Speaker 2: I'm good with it.
- 2:01:18Speaker 13: Yeah, Okay, I feel like I'm never gonna watch this
- 2:01:21Speaker 13: video game.
- 2:01:21Speaker 3: Yeah, it's like, so I google it.
- 2:01:26Speaker 6: Back then they didn't have a treatment for it. Trail
- 2:01:29Speaker 6: at the Air. Yeah, there there's always a spin bet,
- 2:01:30Speaker 6: there's always a call back to Orgon. This guy ends
- 2:01:34Speaker 6: up games perculosis, changes his life in the way and
- 2:01:36Speaker 6: saves his gang. But there's you can have like good
- 2:01:38Speaker 6: honor or bad honor, and based on how you treat
- 2:01:41Speaker 6: the game, that's how your ending goes. Buddy, I had
- 2:01:44Speaker 6: great honor, and I cried my eyes out when he died, cried,
- 2:01:49Speaker 6: took a break, had a snack, ate a meal, went
- 2:01:52Speaker 6: back to sleep, cuddling base spoitting my wife with an
- 2:01:54Speaker 6: acl brace on, recried about that situation. That's how intense
- 2:01:58Speaker 6: it was.
- 2:01:58Speaker 1: Just type in Arthur Morgan death scene and you'll know
- 2:02:01Speaker 1: what Taylor cried to bless.
- 2:02:03Speaker 2: I'll give it a look.
- 2:02:03Speaker 3: Yeah, it's a short two minute you got.
- 2:02:05Speaker 2: I got a lot of stuff on my list right now.
- 2:02:07Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:02:09Speaker 6: Yeah, this has been I really do appreciate you. You gotta
- 2:02:13Speaker 6: hit the tear talk, I know, but I'm just letting
- 2:02:15Speaker 6: you know.
- 2:02:16Speaker 3: Yes, you guys are incredible.
- 2:02:17Speaker 2: Well we left Avenue all here, man.
- 2:02:19Speaker 6: Let me ask you this would put you on the bust.
- 2:02:20Speaker 3: With the boys, because I bet the bus I.
- 2:02:23Speaker 6: Know, But how do.
- 2:02:25Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know.
- 2:02:25Speaker 13: I mean I I uh, I probably Twitter or somebody
- 2:02:28Speaker 13: stumbled upon it and then and then became a big fan.
- 2:02:31Speaker 3: Man.
- 2:02:31Speaker 13: Yeah, I just enjoy it. It's you guys are fun
- 2:02:33Speaker 13: to listen to. It's like it's like me being with
- 2:02:35Speaker 13: my buddies that I went to college with talking about
- 2:02:38Speaker 13: a show, you know what I mean, talking about and
- 2:02:39Speaker 13: talking about the stuff that you're interested in.
- 2:02:41Speaker 2: You guys hit the stuff that it's fun.
- 2:02:43Speaker 3: Let's go.
- 2:02:45Speaker 2: But yeah, I used to.
- 2:02:45Speaker 13: I used to work out and I started probably on podcasts,
- 2:02:48Speaker 13: and I'd listened to you every single week putting in
- 2:02:50Speaker 13: your picks. And that's the.
- 2:02:54Speaker 2: Show's not around anymore.
- 2:02:55Speaker 3: He show's not around anyway.
- 2:02:59Speaker 1: So well, if you're listening much, but this show killing it.
- 2:03:06Speaker 2: Sometimes your best wins are your mistakes.
- 2:03:08Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, well said, well said.
- 2:03:11Speaker 6: I hit him with the road. That is awesome. You
- 2:03:15Speaker 6: bet against the organ, didn't.
- 2:03:16Speaker 2: I don't think you ever picked against us?
- 2:03:18Speaker 1: No, it was never that. Like, you know, I'm always picking.
- 2:03:21Speaker 1: I'm always picking the brass every week.
- 2:03:22Speaker 6: He's like, hey, buddy, We're never going to be mainstream
- 2:03:25Speaker 6: because we won't ever be unbiased.

- 2:05:22Speaker 6: So Tier three shell up?
- 2:05:23Speaker 3: Yeah, Tier two, Tier three go home.
- 2:05:27Speaker 6: Tier two do you're often yeah, so you obviously you're
- 2:05:30Speaker 6: familiar with the show. However, I will explain it away.
- 2:05:32Speaker 6: Tier talk. We're gonna start at three, go to two
- 2:05:35Speaker 6: and one because this is a very unique tier talk.
- 2:05:38Speaker 6: We're just combined. We're gonna have three tiers. You say yours?
- 2:05:41Speaker 6: Will you say one, I'll say one and then and
- 2:05:44Speaker 6: then we'll order them best the worst. But the first move,
- 2:05:46Speaker 6: how are you gonna go? I think I got mine?
- 2:05:48Speaker 3: Actually, go ahead. I hope you have too, because you
- 2:05:50Speaker 3: can take Okay, So.
- 2:05:52Speaker 6: I think my rookie year I got on the tender
- 2:05:54Speaker 6: again started with the swipe game. Just a little bit
- 2:05:57Speaker 6: sneaky boy out there. I forgot fourteen fifteen. But one
- 2:06:01Speaker 6: of my moves was I would whatever match with the
- 2:06:04Speaker 6: girl or whatever, and then I would hit him with
- 2:06:05Speaker 6: the DM saying, explain to me your life and emojis,
- 2:06:09Speaker 6: and then they would just send me like twenty emojis
- 2:06:11Speaker 6: and then I would describe their life to them smooth,
- 2:06:14Speaker 6: and then that was that was my icebreaker.
- 2:06:16Speaker 3: That's smooth.
- 2:06:17Speaker 6: Yeah, that's a nice little move.
- 2:06:18Speaker 1: Right, yeah, Hey, hey, that's kind of nice for the
- 2:06:24Speaker 1: listeners out there that might that's the kind of that's
- 2:06:26Speaker 1: a nice little deal.
- 2:06:26Speaker 2: That's my old man.
- 2:06:27Speaker 6: He's on the he's on the bumble and all that,
- 2:06:29Speaker 6: and my wife was on his little thing a couple
- 2:06:31Speaker 6: of nights ago. I'm thinking what kind of weird fucking
- 2:06:33Speaker 6: universe might living in? But I gave him that bag
- 2:06:35Speaker 6: and he immediately did it.
- 2:06:37Speaker 3: That's awesome. Yeah, bro, I don't have any game.
- 2:06:40Speaker 2: What worked on your wife? She didn't just like I mean.
- 2:06:44Speaker 6: Well it would be good like with the hey yellowimming
- 2:06:46Speaker 6: your shirt? Boop, how you doing? We'll comp and get
- 2:06:48Speaker 6: to meet you.
- 2:06:50Speaker 1: There really wasn't like a I'm telling you boys man
- 2:06:54Speaker 1: like like meeting my wife. I met her at a
- 2:06:57Speaker 1: football camp.
- 2:06:58Speaker 3: You meet her at a football camp?
- 2:07:01Speaker 6: What I thought there were there was some sliding going on.
- 2:07:04Speaker 1: No, that was after the camp got so I talked
- 2:07:07Speaker 1: to her at the camp. Your story and it's not
- 2:07:08Speaker 1: like you know, I'm like, uh, what did I say?
- 2:07:11Speaker 1: You're going to get pizza? So that's number two because
- 2:07:15Speaker 1: we number two going to get Yeah, we had a break.
- 2:07:17Speaker 1: We had a we had a lunch break, and there's
- 2:07:19Speaker 1: pizza there and I'm like, hey, you're going to get pizza.
- 2:07:21Speaker 1: And I was like, where did you get that Pro
- 2:07:22Speaker 1: Bowl hat? And she's like the Pro Bowl?
- 2:07:26Speaker 3: All right? I mean, did you exactly what you felt?
- 2:07:29Speaker 3: Sorry for you or maybe.
- 2:07:30Speaker 6: But his old teeth will too?
- 2:07:32Speaker 3: Been married?
- 2:07:33Speaker 1: Now, later that night we've been married four years, four
- 2:07:37Speaker 1: years coming up on four coming up on four years,
- 2:07:39Speaker 1: and uh but later that night.
- 2:07:41Speaker 3: She slid my d MS nice. Yeah yeah, so I mean,
- 2:07:44Speaker 3: who knows.
- 2:07:45Speaker 1: I'm telling you it was not the pizza coming to
- 2:07:47Speaker 1: and I'm like, you know, okay, so how'd you get
- 2:07:49Speaker 1: all right? Did you go as a fan? She's like,
- 2:07:50Speaker 1: oh no, I cheer for you guys, Like okay, and
- 2:07:54Speaker 1: then it kind of, you know, kind of festered from there.
- 2:07:56Speaker 1: Little cat mouse for about nine months.
- 2:07:58Speaker 2: There you go, cat mouse.
- 2:07:59Speaker 3: For nine months. Yeah, took your boy a while, but
- 2:08:02Speaker 3: got it done.
- 2:08:03Speaker 6: But here we are. I got two kids now.
- 2:08:06Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah, Pizza Friday. Yeah, call back to Pizza Friday.
- 2:08:11Speaker 6: I'm excited to hear your Yeah.
- 2:08:12Speaker 13: I don't know if it's very good. I mean, so
- 2:08:14Speaker 13: my wife and I we met it out back steakhouse.
- 2:08:16Speaker 13: I was a server. She she was to go grow
- 2:08:18Speaker 13: absolutely underrated. Kucka Bear Wings some of the best wings
- 2:08:21Speaker 13: you can get. Wallaby Darned.
- 2:08:23Speaker 2: I remember you could give like.
- 2:08:24Speaker 13: The samples of Wallaby darn to your table if they
- 2:08:27Speaker 13: wanted a sample to try it out.
- 2:08:28Speaker 2: I go get a sample run of the back, slam it.
- 2:08:30Speaker 3: You know.
- 2:08:31Speaker 13: But you have a receipt paper, right, and I would
- 2:08:35Speaker 13: always write love letters, like with a call to action
- 2:08:38Speaker 13: item right on this receipt paper. So I'd be like, Sophia,
- 2:08:42Speaker 13: meet me by the bread oven at six pm, sharp, Casanova,
- 2:08:46Speaker 13: sign it right. We'd be serving our tables six pm.
- 2:08:49Speaker 13: We'd link up with the bread oven. You know, we'll kiss.
- 2:08:52Speaker 2: I always tried to write like that, who you get
- 2:08:54Speaker 2: the kiss out the gate? My wife was definitely hard
- 2:09:00Speaker 2: to get.
- 2:09:00Speaker 13: But I'm like, I mean, I try to be creative
- 2:09:02Speaker 13: with something that somebody else would do. Simple, right, So
- 2:09:05Speaker 13: like I made I remember Valentine's Day. This is probably
- 2:09:07Speaker 13: too far away. I mean, this is not the but
- 2:09:10Speaker 13: I would write a card right and on the front
- 2:09:12Speaker 13: of the car. It'd be like a contract, right, And
- 2:09:14Speaker 13: it's like if you open the contract, you actually see
- 2:09:16Speaker 13: what's written, but it is you know, hey, Sophia, I'm
- 2:09:20Speaker 13: seventeen or eighteen years old, right, you know, and she
- 2:09:24Speaker 13: kind of fills it out and then she signs her
- 2:09:26Speaker 13: signature at the end. Then you open it up and says,
- 2:09:28Speaker 13: Sofia will make love to Dan Lanning seventeen times tonight.
- 2:09:31Speaker 3: You know, like.
- 2:09:34Speaker 13: With you know how you piece it, you know, piece
- 2:09:36Speaker 13: it together. So yeah, I always try to do that
- 2:09:38Speaker 13: just a little bit different. Right, like best Valentine's advice,
- 2:09:41Speaker 13: I can get anybody. It's hard to book a restaurant, right,
- 2:09:44Speaker 13: hard to book a rest Cook it home, right, cook
- 2:09:47Speaker 13: it home. Cook for your wife, man that they will
- 2:09:49Speaker 13: appreciate that you cook the meal. You're not waiting in line.
- 2:09:52Speaker 13: You don't have to see other people. You can do
- 2:09:54Speaker 13: whatever her favorite dishes. Maybe while you're doing that, you
- 2:09:57Speaker 13: book somebody to give her a massage right there.
- 2:10:00Speaker 2: You know, it's just just food for thigh.
- 2:10:02Speaker 3: And he got some flavor.
- 2:10:05Speaker 2: Be created with simple, Be created with simple, right, Like
- 2:10:08Speaker 2: my buddy.
- 2:10:09Speaker 3: What's the go to meals? Like? You go ahead and cook?
- 2:10:12Speaker 13: She likes salmon. She likes salmon, and for me, I
- 2:10:15Speaker 13: don't like salmon. So she knows that if I make
- 2:10:17Speaker 13: her salmon, like I really love her. Right because I'm
- 2:10:20Speaker 13: not I'm not gonna order samon. So if I'm cooking
- 2:10:22Speaker 13: salmon for us for Valentine's Day, it's like.
- 2:10:24Speaker 6: Dang special day special.
- 2:10:26Speaker 2: Yeah right, because I will never order sam. I'm a
- 2:10:27Speaker 2: steak guy. I'm never gonna order salmon.
- 2:10:29Speaker 6: And when you get the roast, sparks rolling in its Yeah,
- 2:10:32Speaker 6: the roasts is like you know that Sam's being cooked
- 2:10:34Speaker 6: for multiple reasons.
- 2:10:35Speaker 3: Yeah, like this thing will be active for a good
- 2:10:37Speaker 3: I don't even know what that is.
- 2:10:39Speaker 6: What are you talking about.
- 2:10:41Speaker 1: It's like a dissolvable you put under your tongue and
- 2:10:44Speaker 1: it'll be active for about the gotcha.
- 2:10:46Speaker 2: It gives you juice? Yeah, it gives you juice.
- 2:10:49Speaker 3: Man, I don't need it.
- 2:10:52Speaker 6: It's about needing it. It's enhancing. Yeah, enhances longer.
- 2:10:56Speaker 2: Do they sponsor you guys?
- 2:10:58Speaker 3: Yeah, this is with this segment. Well we'll have to
- 2:11:00Speaker 3: cut that part, but yeah, this is the Yeah. Yeah,
- 2:11:09Speaker 3: it's like don't need it.
- 2:11:10Speaker 2: Yeah, you're gonna have to cut that part out.
- 2:11:13Speaker 6: I need it.
- 2:11:13Speaker 2: I need it.
- 2:11:14Speaker 3: Yeah, there you go. This has been awesome.
- 2:11:18Speaker 1: Oh yeah, bud like question, you know how people will
- 2:11:21Speaker 1: do anything for a bud light? What is something that
- 2:11:24Speaker 1: Dan Lanning will do anything for.
- 2:11:28Speaker 6: Kids and family.
- 2:11:29Speaker 2: Ah, that's not fair.
- 2:11:31Speaker 6: I mean Dale Earnhardt said family and it was beautiful. Yeah,
- 2:11:35Speaker 6: but it's taken.
- 2:11:35Speaker 13: Now family's taken. I mean family is definitely number one
- 2:11:39Speaker 13: of the easy one.
- 2:11:40Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:11:40Speaker 2: Absolutely. Uh.
- 2:11:43Speaker 3: It was something ambitiously that you would do anything for
- 2:11:46Speaker 3: that ring?
- 2:11:47Speaker 13: Man, that ring, That's that's one of those ones, you know.
- 2:11:50Speaker 13: I remember you guys asked Rabel if you would like
- 2:11:52Speaker 13: cut off something right.
- 2:11:53Speaker 3: For for a Super Bowl? Yeah.
- 2:11:55Speaker 2: I don't know if I'm willing to go that far right.
- 2:11:57Speaker 2: I'm I do have three kids, I'm not having any more.
- 2:11:59Speaker 2: But but that ring, what would you not do for that?
- 2:12:02Speaker 2: I mean that's a that's special feeling, a special moment.
- 2:12:04Speaker 3: What would you cut off for a ring?
- 2:12:06Speaker 2: Definitely? A pinky toe, definitely?
- 2:12:08Speaker 3: You know some would you cut off your middle finger? Yeah?
- 2:12:10Speaker 2: I don't use it on my left hand?
- 2:12:11Speaker 3: What about your right ear? Entire right ear?
- 2:12:14Speaker 13: Yeah, I'm fine with that. What would you would you not?
- 2:12:17Speaker 13: I mean I'm not coaching, if you were as a player,
- 2:12:20Speaker 13: would you not? I would cut off my right ear.
- 2:12:24Speaker 2: Prosthetic? Yeah, maybe like a hairpin.
- 2:12:27Speaker 3: It's a good question. I don't know if I'm not.
- 2:12:29Speaker 2: I don't feel like I'm like vain, like when it
- 2:12:31Speaker 2: comes to like what do I you know? Yeah, do
- 2:12:33Speaker 2: you really need your right of here?
- 2:12:34Speaker 3: I mean, you have a gash in the side of
- 2:12:35Speaker 3: your head.
- 2:12:37Speaker 2: And it's a great story, great story.
- 2:12:39Speaker 3: Would you now you kind of have me on board.
- 2:12:41Speaker 2: Like it's just like it's a great story.
- 2:12:43Speaker 8: Unique.
- 2:12:44Speaker 3: Would you cut off your entire foot for the ring dode?
- 2:12:47Speaker 6: There's still many advancements in science. Now you can for
- 2:12:49Speaker 6: sure do that.
- 2:12:50Speaker 2: I need to evaluate it first. I need to see
- 2:12:52Speaker 2: the advancements.
- 2:12:53Speaker 6: Foot strong could just yeah, wear pants strong.
- 2:12:55Speaker 13: I'm trying to think all the things I still want
- 2:12:57Speaker 13: to be able to do right and I kind of
- 2:12:59Speaker 13: need my foot.
- 2:13:00Speaker 2: Do you don't need a pinky toe?
- 2:13:01Speaker 3: Do you ever want to be a coach in the NFL? No?
- 2:13:04Speaker 2: You used to want to, used to want to.
- 2:13:06Speaker 3: How why did that fizzle out?
- 2:13:08Speaker 13: I just I think you figure out like we talked
- 2:13:10Speaker 13: about earlier, like where do you really fit?
- 2:13:11Speaker 2: Like where like where's your you know your niche?
- 2:13:16Speaker 13: And I do feel like this age group is like
- 2:13:18Speaker 13: the group that I'm I connect with unbelievably and then
- 2:13:21Speaker 13: more more than that, like I always think back that
- 2:13:23Speaker 13: it seems like everybody's always thinking about what's next, what's next,
- 2:13:26Speaker 13: what's next, And for me, like I'm more of the
- 2:13:29Speaker 13: thank you, Like I get to do this here, Like
- 2:13:32Speaker 13: I can't imagine going to do this somewhere else because
- 2:13:35Speaker 13: of the opportunity that the Organs give me. And then
- 2:13:37Speaker 13: so often everybody's like, well, I can go do this somewhere,
- 2:13:39Speaker 13: Like I want to do it here. I want to
- 2:13:41Speaker 13: make it happen here because they believe to me. Right,
- 2:13:43Speaker 13: it wasn't like I was a head coach coming from
- 2:13:45Speaker 13: somewhere else, you know. Here, I was a decordinator and
- 2:13:47Speaker 13: hadn't been a head coach, right, I coached the third
- 2:13:49Speaker 13: grade basketball team in high school, right, Like, so they
- 2:13:52Speaker 13: gave me an opportunity like why not do it here?
- 2:13:54Speaker 2: So you know that's kind of you know, that's the piece.
- 2:13:57Speaker 13: There's definitely a different quality of life, you know, appreciation,
- 2:14:01Speaker 13: Like in the NFL.
- 2:14:02Speaker 2: They're not you know, recruiting and a lot of the things,
- 2:14:04Speaker 2: a lot of the hats that you wear.
- 2:14:05Speaker 13: But every job's got pieces that you're not like in
- 2:14:07Speaker 13: love with, right, But this is a place that you know,
- 2:14:10Speaker 13: I love doing it.
- 2:14:11Speaker 6: If you can see it organ forever.
- 2:14:13Speaker 2: Yeah, I'd love to say it's my last job.
- 2:14:15Speaker 13: And like I promised my kids, like when we came here,
- 2:14:19Speaker 13: like you're gonna get to graduate from the same middle school,
- 2:14:21Speaker 13: the same high school.
- 2:14:22Speaker 2: Like my kids have lived in eight states, right, that's crazy.
- 2:14:25Speaker 13: So like now, so for me, it's like it's not
- 2:14:28Speaker 13: even a thought, Like as long as we win, because
- 2:14:30Speaker 13: if I don't, if I don't hold up.
- 2:14:31Speaker 2: That part, I won't be here.
- 2:14:33Speaker 13: Yeah, as long as we win, Like I can't see
- 2:14:35Speaker 13: myself anywhere else.
- 2:14:37Speaker 6: I love it. Yeah, Coach, thank you, man, Hey, appreciate
- 2:14:40Speaker 6: you guys watching. Please subscribe, unsubscribed, resubscribe, big hugs, tiny kisses,

- 2:14:47Speaker 6: of a plus for Dan Landing.
