- 0:00Speaker 1: You're listen sings KFI AM sixty the Bill Handles show
- 0:04Speaker 1: on demand on the iHeartRadio f KFI AM sixty Bill
- 0:11Speaker 1: Handle Here may one a couple of big stories. We're
- 0:16Speaker 1: looking at Camp Mystic, where twenty seven young ladies and
- 0:20Speaker 1: a couple of counselors died, has yanked back its application
- 0:25Speaker 1: to have campers in this summer. I'm surprised they even
- 0:29Speaker 1: know were considering putting in the application. And then yesterday
- 0:33Speaker 1: the Department of Homeland Security, Congress voted to reopen stop
- 0:40Speaker 1: the hemorrhaging. Actually it had stopped. I mean the government
- 0:45Speaker 1: had literally shut down, but the people still had to
- 0:47Speaker 1: work because that's the law. And now it's all done.
- 0:51Speaker 1: And the Democrats won this one because they wanted a
- 0:55Speaker 1: bill that would fund all of it except for immigration
- 0:59Speaker 1: and border patrol. So good for those people who are
- 1:03Speaker 1: now working, although they were unpaid administrative lead. Okay, it's
- 1:07Speaker 1: Foody Friday with Neil Savedra, host of The Fork Report
- 1:11Speaker 1: Saturdays tomorrow, and The Fork Reporter is his show. So Neil,
- 1:16Speaker 1: one of the things that I have said many times
- 1:19Speaker 1: is to try to define bagels, and bagels aren't real
- 1:23Speaker 1: bagels unless they're made in a bagel shop, because if
- 1:26Speaker 1: you go to the supermarket and buy a bagel, it's
- 1:29Speaker 1: not it's bread. And now we have hit the bottom
- 1:34Speaker 1: of the barrel. We have gone to areas that we
- 1:39Speaker 1: have never gone before. This is the Titanic.
- 1:43Speaker 2: I was so excited by the story when I thought
- 1:47Speaker 2: of you and your reaction.
- 1:49Speaker 1: Wonder Bread bagels, please, I mean, come on, the humanity
- 1:55Speaker 1: of it.
- 1:56Speaker 2: The only one I can think that might be excited
- 1:59Speaker 2: about one bread bagels would be Gary Hoffman. Not as
- 2:03Speaker 2: white bread as you get. But who knows. So Wonderbread
- 2:08Speaker 2: has come out, they don't really add a whole lot.
- 2:11Speaker 2: Sure they've gone after little Debbies and hostess. Back in
- 2:15Speaker 2: the day they brought out rolls and these types of things,
- 2:20Speaker 2: But now they're rolling out bagels and English muffins for
- 2:27Speaker 2: the first time. Now, Wonderbread was kind of synonymous, you know.
- 2:32Speaker 1: With lettuce and mayonnaise. Sandwich is just.
- 2:37Speaker 2: Like the most basic white bread American sweet dowel. The
- 2:42Speaker 2: old saying that if you mixed it with water became
- 2:45Speaker 2: like kindergarten paste. It's you know. Nineteen forties became one
- 2:51Speaker 2: of the first brands to popularize Now what is hated everywhere,
- 2:56Speaker 2: which is the enriched white bread fortified with iron, B
- 3:01Speaker 2: vitamins and all that. And by the nineteen seventies, that
- 3:04Speaker 2: you know white package with the yellow, blue and red
- 3:09Speaker 2: dots on it became quite popular. So with your definition
- 3:15Speaker 2: of what a bagel is, I'm guessing these are going
- 3:20Speaker 2: to be much more bready than you prefer. You like
- 3:25Speaker 2: a chew and a toothiness to your babel, right.
- 3:28Speaker 3: I do.
- 3:28Speaker 1: I like a crust. My favorite is Western bagels, and
- 3:32Speaker 1: where I live there are no Western bagels here, unfortunately.
- 3:37Speaker 1: And I even buy Costco Has bagels even though they
- 3:40Speaker 1: say that they're boiled, they're plain bagels, they're not. They're
- 3:44Speaker 1: not very good bagels. You need a real bagel. So
- 3:48Speaker 1: wonderbread bagels they're below fake bagels. And I just have
- 3:54Speaker 1: you tried them, by the way.
- 3:56Speaker 2: I have not. You have to, they're incredibly new. Have
- 4:00Speaker 2: to bring them into the station and give them a taste.
- 4:05Speaker 2: But you know what if they have you know one
- 4:08Speaker 2: of the favor one of the flavors is gonna get
- 4:11Speaker 2: you upset too. One of the flavors is cinnamon raisin.
- 4:16Speaker 2: You're not one for the flavored ones. They do have
- 4:20Speaker 2: sour dough, and they have an original and all that
- 4:23Speaker 2: or those types of things. But yeah, so.
- 4:28Speaker 1: When we do Pastathon and the station kept on buying unreal,
- 4:34Speaker 1: non jew bagels, I actually had my contract amended that
- 4:42Speaker 1: when people come in the morning, there's always bagels and
- 4:46Speaker 1: pastries and coffee and juice. When you come to Pastathon
- 4:49Speaker 1: in the morning, it had to be real Jew bagels.
- 4:52Speaker 2: That's it.
- 4:53Speaker 1: Otherwise there was a huge penalty for iHeart, they would
- 4:58Speaker 1: have to donate twenty five thousand dollars to Pastathon. And
- 5:03Speaker 1: that amendment went straight up all the way up to
- 5:05Speaker 1: Bob Pittman's office because well, twenty five thousand dollars liability
- 5:11Speaker 1: because in real Jew bagels real Jew bagels, that's a
- 5:14Speaker 1: plane bagel, that's a jew bagel. Just underneath that, water
- 5:19Speaker 1: bagels and egg bagels are or egg bagels and onion
- 5:24Speaker 1: bagels are sort of real Jew bagels minus. And then
- 5:30Speaker 1: come on, guys, you've got the blueberry and the raisin
- 5:34Speaker 1: and the chocolate bagels. My god, what does that come to?
- 5:38Speaker 2: Jews don't like a little flavah No.
- 5:41Speaker 1: No, you got bagels are bagels. I mean, you know,
- 5:43Speaker 1: you want real bagels. Real Americans is boiled. Yeah, they
- 5:50Speaker 1: are boiled with the dough and then they are baked
- 5:52Speaker 1: and they're good. So wonderbread bagels, Yeah, go right ahead, folks,
- 5:57Speaker 1: you even try it. I take away your jew card.
- 6:00Speaker 2: Butter and jelly bagels. Wonderbread peanut butter and jelly bread bagels.
- 6:06Speaker 2: See how it goes. But I knew that would get
- 6:08Speaker 2: you closer to death, so I thought i'd bring it up.
- 6:11Speaker 1: Yeah, Okay, a couple more topics that we can get to,
- 6:14Speaker 1: and that is getting the ick factor with your partner's
- 6:19Speaker 1: food habits.
- 6:21Speaker 2: Made me laugh.
- 6:22Speaker 1: Well, it's happening at my house.
- 6:26Speaker 2: I'm sure there's a lot of ick going on at
- 6:28Speaker 2: your house.
- 6:28Speaker 1: There is a lot of ick going on at my house.
- 6:31Speaker 1: And it's not me having the IX. It's Linz having
- 6:35Speaker 1: the IX. And I'll share that when we come back. Okay, fine,
- 6:40Speaker 1: I am six forty bill handle here. It is a
- 6:43Speaker 1: Friday morning, May one, and we're ask candle anything at
- 6:48Speaker 1: the bottom of the hour, which is always fun. Some
- 6:50Speaker 1: of the big stories. We're looking at doctor Casey Mean,
- 6:55Speaker 1: who was nominated by the President to be the search
- 6:57Speaker 1: in general. The nomination has been withdrawn because there was
- 7:00Speaker 1: no chance she was going to be confirmed because of
- 7:04Speaker 1: her crazy ass view on vaccine yep, vaccine denial for
- 7:09Speaker 1: the most part, not a big fan. Also believes in midwives.
- 7:15Speaker 1: I don't know if you knew that. Her idea of
- 7:17Speaker 1: a delivery is a midwife with a bone through her nose.
- 7:22Speaker 1: Not exactly real medicine. It's the MAHA group, you know,
- 7:28Speaker 1: make America healthy again? Okay, the egg factor and a
- 7:32Speaker 1: boy that goes right into this topic, the eg factor.
- 7:36Speaker 1: I live in a home that is the ygg factor. Now,
- 7:40Speaker 1: Lindsey is a health nut. She eats really healthy. She
- 7:46Speaker 1: will not eat the crap that I do and I have.
- 7:50Speaker 1: She won't even I have my own freezer at home.
- 7:53Speaker 1: She will not let me put my stuff into our
- 7:56Speaker 1: freezer in the garage. I had to get my own
- 7:59Speaker 1: freezer because of the crap that I eat.
- 8:02Speaker 2: What does she think they're gonna mate make some sort
- 8:05Speaker 2: of hybrid of crap food.
- 8:07Speaker 1: No, when she goes in the freezer, she doesn't even
- 8:10Speaker 1: want to see the stuff.
- 8:12Speaker 2: What kind of stuff does a health food person put
- 8:14Speaker 2: in a freezer?
- 8:16Speaker 1: Meats that are super healthy? She called like hap, Well,
- 8:19Speaker 1: she just to give the idea with eggs. She only
- 8:21Speaker 1: has happy eggs. She has happy meat where it's not
- 8:26Speaker 1: traditional meat, happy chickens that are free range and walk
- 8:30Speaker 1: around and enjoy themselves. She has certain things that fruit
- 8:36Speaker 1: that can be frozen.
- 8:37Speaker 2: You know, things like she's the one in a wheelchair.
- 8:40Speaker 1: Uh, yeah, that's that bothers her, well, wheelchairs some of
- 8:43Speaker 1: the time because she has a leg issue and she
- 8:45Speaker 1: she can walk, but long does.
- 8:46Speaker 2: It from the health food?
- 8:48Speaker 1: Yeah, that's exactly the point. And she can't preservatives in
- 8:51Speaker 1: her Yeah, and she cannot stand the fact that I
- 8:55Speaker 1: am pretty healthy. I am, uh, you know, I'm pretty healthy,
- 9:00Speaker 1: and so she has a very hard time with that.
- 9:02Speaker 1: So there's a lot of ig factor.
- 9:04Speaker 2: Yeah, I get that because you know, stuff I eat
- 9:07Speaker 2: and I'm still standing go yeah, and your wife eats
- 9:12Speaker 2: very healthy. Yeah, she likes the healthier food. And she's
- 9:15Speaker 2: right most definitely. But I will tell you the ick factor.
- 9:21Speaker 2: The funny thing is is this story from Food and
- 9:23Speaker 2: Wine breaks down in relationships. And I will tell you,
- 9:28Speaker 2: the vast majority you can make of this what you wish,
- 9:31Speaker 2: but the vast majority of the people commenting here are women.
- 9:34Speaker 2: So it's like, I just think women don't like men. Sometimes,
- 9:40Speaker 2: and we're hard creatures to live with, I suppose. But
- 9:45Speaker 2: different things, some from the really stupid. This one comes
- 9:51Speaker 2: from a woman bath forty two years old, say that
- 9:54Speaker 2: she she got the IX when her boyfriend Ate thinks
- 10:00Speaker 2: giving leftovers with his hands in the car ride home.
- 10:04Speaker 2: That's a little you know, if you're dating still, that
- 10:06Speaker 2: might be a little.
- 10:07Speaker 1: I do that. I do that. I eat left leftovers
- 10:13Speaker 1: a week later. I do Also, four days is probably
- 10:20Speaker 1: the backs for a thing. I also believe in. You
- 10:23Speaker 1: know how you have the five second rule.
- 10:27Speaker 4: I have.
- 10:29Speaker 1: Yeah, I have a half hour rule, especially for gravy.
- 10:32Speaker 1: I mean, there is a big egg factor in my life.
- 10:38Speaker 1: What so Okay, I sort of stopped everybody dead, didn't it.
- 10:42Speaker 2: Yeah? So some of these are really silly that they
- 10:48Speaker 2: make these are these are like deal breakers for people
- 10:51Speaker 2: on dates. Some guy said to uh his girlfriend. He
- 10:55Speaker 2: goes uh. He said that one of his favorite things
- 10:58Speaker 2: is to make pizzas. That's fine, right. Then he proceeded
- 11:02Speaker 2: to say his hack was to use tortillas as the base.
- 11:07Speaker 2: You know, that's sort of watching calories. It's actually quite good.
- 11:13Speaker 2: I've made tortilla pizzas before in my thinner thinner stages
- 11:18Speaker 2: and there. But it's the fact that food is at
- 11:21Speaker 2: the center of all these fat like people are really
- 11:25Speaker 2: there are people that have and I can't remember the
- 11:28Speaker 2: name of it, but can't hear people eating or.
- 11:33Speaker 1: I'm loud, I'm loud. I eat with my mouth open.
- 11:36Speaker 1: I eat with my mouth open, loud, icky food while
- 11:40Speaker 1: picking my nose. I'll tell you the other thing, Okay,
- 11:44Speaker 1: the other thing that drives Lindsey crazy is she'll go
- 11:49Speaker 1: out with friends or by herself. She used to go
- 11:52Speaker 1: to a Mexican restaurant and sit and do work over
- 11:54Speaker 1: there and sit at the table because I bother her constantly.
- 11:59Speaker 1: Is she'll be she loves Mexican food, so she'll be
- 12:02Speaker 1: home leftovers. I'll bring them home and it'll be the meat,
- 12:06Speaker 1: It'll be the rice, it'll be the beans, it'll be
- 12:09Speaker 1: the avocado, it'll be the parsley, it'll be the sweetened low.
- 12:13Speaker 1: She brings back and packets because I use sweet and
- 12:17Speaker 1: low and I'm cheap. And then I throw all of
- 12:19Speaker 1: that together, roll it up in a tortilla, and I
- 12:22Speaker 1: munch on it. And that's with products that are a
- 12:26Speaker 1: week and a half old. Do you.
- 12:31Speaker 2: Do you take the wrapping off of the sweet and
- 12:33Speaker 2: low or does that go in your little your living?
- 12:36Speaker 1: No, what do you think I am? What do you
- 12:37Speaker 1: think I am? Some kind of an animal?
- 12:39Speaker 2: Of course I take the wrapping off. This one's about
- 12:42Speaker 2: as petty as it gets. This other woman said that
- 12:45Speaker 2: she was with a guy on their first date. He said,
- 12:50Speaker 2: would you like me to I love making cocktails? Could
- 12:52Speaker 2: I make one for you? And she said sure. He
- 12:54Speaker 2: pulled out his favorite hickory wood chips, a smoking gun,
- 12:57Speaker 2: which is something that you use for infusing smoke into cocktails,
- 13:02Speaker 2: a glass dome and made me an old fashion with
- 13:04Speaker 2: plumes of smoke surrounding it like I was in a
- 13:07Speaker 2: hip bar in twenty fifteen. That gave me the ick. Wow,
- 13:12Speaker 2: there's not one person I want to spend time with
- 13:15Speaker 2: on this. But anyways, so food brings the ick to
- 13:19Speaker 2: some people, and some people find it to be a
- 13:22Speaker 2: deal breaker. Everybody's got their own versions. You know, Tracy's
- 13:29Speaker 2: brothers are twins, and I guess they used to slurp
- 13:32Speaker 2: their cereal or certain things. So I do not eat
- 13:37Speaker 2: cereal near her. Huh oh yeah, try not even on
- 13:41Speaker 2: my coffee around you have to.
- 13:42Speaker 1: Slurp your cereal because it gets soggy so quickly unless
- 13:47Speaker 1: you do granola. And I can't stand soggy cereal. It
- 13:51Speaker 1: has to be crunchy, so I just keptain crunch then
- 13:54Speaker 1: I let it get so I slurp it up like crazy.
- 13:57Speaker 1: Al Right, guys, we're done with foody Friday, and we'll
- 14:01Speaker 1: do it again next Friday. I don't forget Tomorrow afternoon
- 14:05Speaker 1: from two to five pm. Neil host of The Fork Report,
- 14:09Speaker 1: and now comes some of the most favorite questions. It's
- 14:14Speaker 1: ask Handle anything that we do every Friday. Now we'll
- 14:17Speaker 1: be back with that as we finished the last half
- 14:19Speaker 1: hour of our Friday show.
- 14:21Speaker 5: You're listening to bill Handle on demand from KFI AM
- 14:25Speaker 5: six forty.
- 14:28Speaker 1: KFI AM six forty bill Handle. Here it is a
- 14:32Speaker 1: Friday morning, May first, as we start a new month.
- 14:36Speaker 1: Oh god, it's already May. Everybody I talked to, you know,
- 14:42Speaker 1: shakes our head and goes it's already May. Boy, it
- 14:44Speaker 1: goes fast. It goes faster every year too, and there's
- 14:47Speaker 1: a reason for it, but I'm not going to get
- 14:48Speaker 1: into it.
- 14:50Speaker 2: So there you go ahead. Why are shaking your head
- 14:54Speaker 2: because it's already May See, there you go Okay, it
- 14:57Speaker 2: is well said.
- 14:58Speaker 1: It is time for Ask Handle Anything, which we do
- 15:01Speaker 1: every Friday, and it always works the same way. You
- 15:04Speaker 1: record a question during the show. You go to the
- 15:07Speaker 1: iHeartRadio app and then you click on the KFI and
- 15:10Speaker 1: then you'll hear this show being streamed, and then you
- 15:13Speaker 1: click on the microphone in the upright hand corner and
- 15:16Speaker 1: record your question, and then Neil chooses the question. And
- 15:19Speaker 1: some of them are completely maronic, and some of them
- 15:21Speaker 1: are actually pretty good, and anything it embarrasses me goes
- 15:24Speaker 1: right to the top of the list. So starting with
- 15:27Speaker 1: number one, Sam, you have it.
- 15:30Speaker 2: Okay, ask Bill anything?
- 15:32Speaker 5: All right, Bill, listening to you and Neil talk about
- 15:35Speaker 5: Iran Wednesday morning. If you were the president, what would
- 15:40Speaker 5: your solution be in a short paragraph or sentence on
- 15:45Speaker 5: what to do with Iran? And counterpoint, I'd like to
- 15:49Speaker 5: know what Neil would do.
- 15:50Speaker 1: Okay, fair enough, Okay, we'll start with that. Neil, what
- 15:54Speaker 1: would you do? We'll start with you.
- 15:56Speaker 2: I don't know that anything is being done wrong at
- 15:59Speaker 2: this point. I mean, it's it's a slow process and
- 16:04Speaker 2: you're gonna have to stay strong if you really if
- 16:06Speaker 2: it's really important to us for them not to have
- 16:12Speaker 2: nuclear weapons because they're problematic. It's it's basically like Nazi
- 16:16Speaker 2: Germany having you know. Uh, by the way, that's little history.
- 16:23Speaker 1: That's why we went balls while to build the nuclear
- 16:27Speaker 1: bomb for Nazi Germany, not for Japan. Okay, by the way,
- 16:30Speaker 1: that was one sentence, Very well done. All right. What
- 16:33Speaker 1: would I do uh to deal with Iran? I would
- 16:36Speaker 1: simply tell Iran via a broadcast. Uh, everybody, look at
- 16:41Speaker 1: the southern sky next Tuesday, and I hope you have
- 16:43Speaker 1: sunglasses on because it's going to be very bright.
- 16:48Speaker 2: Okay, more eloquent.
- 16:52Speaker 6: Moving on, Bill needs to talk to Nasks about his ments.
- 16:57Speaker 6: Just saying if you send him up there with the
- 16:59Speaker 6: close quarter and how well it would work, you missed
- 17:02Speaker 6: a good opportunity.
- 17:05Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, close quarters, get some suns up there.
- 17:08Speaker 1: Sure. Sure they did it with nutella. So how about
- 17:13Speaker 1: gas X you think that would help? Okay?
- 17:18Speaker 3: Uh?
- 17:19Speaker 7: Next question, Hi, this is for ask handle anything. When
- 17:24Speaker 7: you used to promote Lindsay's podcast, you used to mention
- 17:27Speaker 7: that she didn't take anything for pain. It was like
- 17:30Speaker 7: a mind over matter type of thing. Last week on
- 17:33Speaker 7: Handle on the Law, you mentioned that she does weekly
- 17:35Speaker 7: ketamine treatments. I'm wondering if you see that as something
- 17:39Speaker 7: she's doing for pain or if this is more of
- 17:41Speaker 7: a mental health thing. Oh good question with it being
- 17:44Speaker 7: addiction forming. I'm just curious on your take on that.
- 17:48Speaker 1: Yeah, no, it's not. My take is whatever she wants
- 17:50Speaker 1: to do, But no, she is. She is moving into
- 17:53Speaker 1: some medication to deal with the pain and it happens
- 17:57Speaker 1: to be working too. And she hates dealing with modern medicine.
- 18:00Speaker 1: And I mean that's just one of her things. I mean,
- 18:02Speaker 1: her idea of medicine is to walk around a bush
- 18:06Speaker 1: and you do incantations.
- 18:09Speaker 2: Okay, everybody hates modern medicine, Western medicine until they break unarm.
- 18:15Speaker 1: Well that's different. Even those people that need surgery are
- 18:18Speaker 1: going to say compound fractures are very difficult to treat
- 18:22Speaker 1: with let's say shrubbery, right, Okay, moving on one more.
- 18:31Speaker 3: Hi, Bill, I was wondering if you ever see Paul
- 18:35Speaker 3: the Wall or stay in touch with him? Have you
- 18:38Speaker 3: ever gone over to Guam to his home? Also, do
- 18:42Speaker 3: you still keep up with Richard Murata? Okay, Gimmar, do
- 18:47Speaker 3: you know whatever happened to Jim Gallagher once he left KFI?
- 18:51Speaker 1: Yeah, that's Jim Gallagher, that's Ken Gallagher. And what she's
- 18:54Speaker 1: referring to is very early days when we just started
- 18:59Speaker 1: the show here, going back to the eighties. Paul the
- 19:02Speaker 1: Wall was our board operator and he left for Guam. No,
- 19:07Speaker 1: we don't keep in touch, and no I've never gone
- 19:10Speaker 1: to Guam, and no I'm sure I never will. Ken
- 19:13Speaker 1: Gallagher left the show to move I think to Virginia. Yeah,
- 19:18Speaker 1: something like that. And Rich Morauda retired and he is
- 19:22Speaker 1: up in Reno. All really good people except for Ken. Okay,
- 19:26Speaker 1: we do keep in touch with Rich though. I keep
- 19:30Speaker 1: in touch with Rich, you know, I keep Yeah, I
- 19:32Speaker 1: keep in touch with Rich. Rich is a really good,
- 19:34Speaker 1: good guy. Yeah he is. And his wife do you
- 19:36Speaker 1: remember when his wife left him? And yeah, well the
- 19:40Speaker 1: first time out and he came to the station morose
- 19:45Speaker 1: and depressed, and I said, Rich, what happened? I'm joking now, Rich,
- 19:49Speaker 1: what happens your wife leave you? This is on the air.
- 19:52Speaker 1: And he said, well, yeah, she actually did. She left yesterday. Wow,
- 19:57Speaker 1: what a guess. And then every morning when I would
- 20:01Speaker 1: say hello, as I do in the morning, say hello
- 20:03Speaker 1: to the crowd, I would always start with rich wife's
- 20:07Speaker 1: still gone rich.
- 20:10Speaker 4: Wow.
- 20:11Speaker 1: Yeah, and then they're reconciled.
- 20:15Speaker 2: Yeah, I think they're still I still think they're together.
- 20:17Speaker 2: Which is a pretty new only morning show person that
- 20:21Speaker 2: has worked with you, that didn't despise you, hate your
- 20:24Speaker 2: success and think you are a horrible person.
- 20:27Speaker 1: Oh yeah, that's true, which is why we got rid
- 20:29Speaker 1: of him rather quickly. Goodbye, We'll see you later since
- 20:36Speaker 1: if we can do one more before the break, one
- 20:43Speaker 1: more before the break.
- 20:47Speaker 4: Yeah, I want to ask you. Doesn't does it bother
- 20:50Speaker 4: you to ride in your Tesla? They say that it
- 20:54Speaker 4: causes brain tumors and stuff to tesla's Yeah, nowadays, especially
- 20:58Speaker 4: if you sit in it one it's charging. I was
- 21:01Speaker 4: just wondering if you believe in that or not.
- 21:05Speaker 1: Yeah, I also I do believe in that. Also, you're
- 21:07Speaker 1: going to get tumors and you are going to have
- 21:11Speaker 1: your stomach will have huge open source. I had a
- 21:15Speaker 1: Tesla for two weeks. I bought a Tesla and it
- 21:20Speaker 1: lasted two weeks. I couldn't stand the Tesla. And what
- 21:25Speaker 1: happened is the week after I bought the Tesla, Elon
- 21:29Speaker 1: MUCKs Must decided to lower the price of the Tesla
- 21:32Speaker 1: twenty percent. Oh that was pleasant. So when I turned
- 21:38Speaker 1: around and I resold it back, I went to I
- 21:42Speaker 1: think I went to CarMax. I probably got seventy five
- 21:46Speaker 1: or sixty percent or sixty five percent of the value
- 21:50Speaker 1: of the car for two weeks. I rented that car
- 21:54Speaker 1: for eight thousand dollars a week. That is an expensive
- 21:57Speaker 1: car to rent. Yeah, I lost sixteen grand on it.
- 22:02Speaker 2: Wow.
- 22:03Speaker 1: Yeah, in two weeks.
- 22:04Speaker 2: I was a big hit. You're a business person, Well it.
- 22:08Speaker 1: Goes two in that direction, I am. But yeah, I
- 22:11Speaker 1: really did not like the Tesla. First of all, I
- 22:14Speaker 1: have no computer savvy at all, as you know, Neil.
- 22:17Speaker 1: I'm just a yeah, a dinastuter with wheels. Yeah, that's
- 22:20Speaker 1: what it is. And I still I don't get, you know,
- 22:23Speaker 1: how cell phones work, because phones without a wire to
- 22:26Speaker 1: the wall are beyond my comprehension. And and one of
- 22:30Speaker 1: the reasons I'm so loud on the air they have
- 22:33Speaker 1: to pod me the engineer and Sam will tell you
- 22:36Speaker 1: all the way down to barely barely hearing me because
- 22:41Speaker 1: I am so loud, because I don't understand how this works.
- 22:44Speaker 1: Because I have a microphone here and people listen to me.
- 22:48Speaker 1: For example, in North San Diego, County or in Ventura.
- 22:52Speaker 1: So I have to yell pretty loudly otherwise they can't
- 22:55Speaker 1: hear me because I don't understand this technologlogy of talking
- 23:01Speaker 1: into the microphone and my broadcast people can hear my voice.
- 23:07Speaker 1: Why don't we take a break? What do you think? KF?
- 23:09Speaker 1: I am six forty Bill handled here. Good morning on
- 23:13Speaker 1: a Friday May. First, as we finish the show with
- 23:18Speaker 1: ask handle Anything. Some of the big stories we're looking at. Oh,
- 23:20Speaker 1: here's a fun one. King Charles has just left after
- 23:24Speaker 1: a four day visit and it looks like he has
- 23:26Speaker 1: done a superb job of bringing relations between the Great
- 23:30Speaker 1: Britain and the United States. President loved him, thinks he's
- 23:36Speaker 1: a great guy. And in honor of charles visit, the
- 23:39Speaker 1: President has eliminated the tariff on Scotch whiskey as sort
- 23:45Speaker 1: of a thank you. Also, the President, because they're talking
- 23:50Speaker 1: to the new leadership in Afghanistan, has increased the US
- 23:54Speaker 1: purchase of body parts from Afghanistan. All you gotta do
- 23:59Speaker 1: is like President Trump, and you're gonna do just flying. Okay,
- 24:03Speaker 1: back we go to more Ask Candle anything. As we
- 24:07Speaker 1: finished the show on a Friday. Next question, Ask candle anything.
- 24:13Speaker 8: Speaking of presidential libraries as you are this morning, Bill,
- 24:17Speaker 8: I'm curious to know if you've ever been to a
- 24:20Speaker 8: presidential library, and if so, which one or ones.
- 24:25Speaker 1: Okay, been to the Reagan, I've been to the Nixon,
- 24:28Speaker 1: and both are phenomenal. Presidential libraries are just super terrific.
- 24:34Speaker 1: I mean, I do enjoy the Ronald Reagan one. And
- 24:38Speaker 1: what I enjoy about the Nixon Presidential Library is the
- 24:42Speaker 1: fact that they don't really downplay Watergate. I mean they
- 24:47Speaker 1: talk about it. Where the Nald Reagan library, Ronald Reagan
- 24:53Speaker 1: was married to Jane Winman, the movie actress, prior to
- 24:57Speaker 1: Nancy Reagan. It's there is one one line that you
- 25:02Speaker 1: need a microscope to read that acknowledges his previous marriage
- 25:08Speaker 1: to Jane Wyman. It's as if she never existed. So
- 25:13Speaker 1: other than that, it's I really enjoy those presidential libraries
- 25:17Speaker 1: and I look forward to seeing as many as possible. Okay,
- 25:21Speaker 1: next question.
- 25:23Speaker 2: Hey, Bill, you mentioned when you go out to eat,
- 25:26Speaker 2: the one who makes the most money pays the bill.
- 25:29Speaker 1: So when you retire, is it going to be pay
- 25:32Speaker 1: that time? Oh yeah, oh.
- 25:37Speaker 2: Yeah, that's what you're going to start expecting. Everyone else
- 25:40Speaker 2: to pay.
- 25:41Speaker 1: One hundred percent because the rule does not change. And
- 25:47Speaker 1: I've always always followed that whoever makes the most money
- 25:51Speaker 1: pays the bill, just that simple. And Neil will tell
- 25:54Speaker 1: you about that story as to the first time that
- 25:58Speaker 1: Neil actually paid a bill which I didn't, which I didn't.
- 26:01Speaker 2: Know decades ago, decades ago, decade ago, and I still
- 26:06Speaker 2: do I ever reached for my wallet with you.
- 26:08Speaker 1: Or no, you never do. And and the story is, uh,
- 26:11Speaker 1: I always paid. And Neil and I were going to
- 26:13Speaker 1: dinner or I think it was lunch, and I uh uh,
- 26:17Speaker 1: and I had to go to the restroom and I
- 26:18Speaker 1: asked for the check and the waitress, the female waitress,
- 26:22Speaker 1: UH said, oh, that's being taken care of by your
- 26:25Speaker 1: buddy here. And I looked at Neil and I said,
- 26:29Speaker 1: if you think you get extra points for this, you don't.
- 26:33Speaker 1: And as a matter of fact, any esteem I have
- 26:36Speaker 1: for you has just dropped twenty points ever since that day. Neil,
- 26:42Speaker 1: if the bill is put if it you know that
- 26:44Speaker 1: little bill container thing, the leather thing where it's a
- 26:48Speaker 1: little clipboard, if it's put in front of him, he
- 26:51Speaker 1: will throw it at me like a frisbee and it's yeah.
- 26:56Speaker 2: I don't even always thank him.
- 26:59Speaker 1: No, you don't. No, as a matter of fact, you
- 27:01Speaker 1: wait for me to thank you allowing me to pay
- 27:04Speaker 1: the bill, And yes I will once I retire. That's right. Yeah,
- 27:10Speaker 1: we're done. We're done paying the bill. Okay, next question.
- 27:15Speaker 9: This is Jennifer from Oceanside asking Handel. When you were
- 27:19Speaker 9: at Disneyland on Monday, did anyone recognize you and if so,
- 27:24Speaker 9: did they have the nerve to actually approach you and
- 27:27Speaker 9: expect you to interact with them and make eye contact?
- 27:31Speaker 1: You know, that's a good question. I don't get to
- 27:33Speaker 1: I don't get approached too much because I'm on radio.
- 27:37Speaker 1: But I do, and the you know, we engage. I
- 27:42Speaker 1: engage in contact with them. I say hello, I thank
- 27:46Speaker 1: them very much for coming up. And if they want
- 27:49Speaker 1: an autograph, which almost never anybody does, they want an autograph,
- 27:52Speaker 1: they wanted on a check and I tend to be
- 27:55Speaker 1: very gracious, you know why, because they pay the bills,
- 27:59Speaker 1: because these lovely people listen to this show and it's important,
- 28:04Speaker 1: I think so.
- 28:05Speaker 2: I very nice.
- 28:07Speaker 1: Yeah, people are very nice. And you had some people
- 28:10Speaker 1: recognize you.
- 28:10Speaker 8: They didn't come up and say hello, but I got
- 28:12Speaker 8: a couple of messages on wake up calls and I
- 28:14Speaker 8: saw you guys, yes the park people say I.
- 28:17Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah people. Yeah. People are pretty gracious. Even when
- 28:21Speaker 1: someone comes down and I'm having dinner and my mouth
- 28:24Speaker 1: is full of food. Someone will come up and start
- 28:28Speaker 1: talking to me, and I never say, hey, I'm eating,
- 28:32Speaker 1: give me a break, get out of here. Nope, I'll
- 28:35Speaker 1: say hello. I mean I'll spray them with the food
- 28:37Speaker 1: that I have in my mouth. Nice. Yeah, of course
- 28:40Speaker 1: not I'll do. But yes, I'm very grateful to people
- 28:43Speaker 1: who listen to the show all kidding aside and then
- 28:46Speaker 1: I harassed them. Okay, I think we are done, guys.
- 28:50Speaker 1: So tomorrow at eight o'clock, following Dean who has a
- 28:57Speaker 1: House Whisper show, I engage and handle on the law
- 29:01Speaker 1: where I harass you and humiliate you. It's my turn
- 29:04Speaker 1: to you until you have absolutely no case. Tomorrow afternoon
- 29:09Speaker 1: two to five, it's The Fork Report with Neil he
- 29:13Speaker 1: hosted All Things Food.
- 29:15Speaker 2: I'm a nude shouder. You are a food showder.
- 29:18Speaker 5: You are.
- 29:19Speaker 1: I'm not a Westward Yes, you're a shout shouder.
- 29:22Speaker 2: That's srodcasting live from Redondo Beach tomorrow for Beach Life Fest.
- 29:27Speaker 1: Oh you hadn't you know, we hadn't mentioned that during
- 29:29Speaker 1: the week.
- 29:30Speaker 2: No, it's not one of those things that I'm going
- 29:32Speaker 2: to be in a secluded area interviewing some of the
- 29:34Speaker 2: chefs and stuff. So it's not really something that I
- 29:37Speaker 2: get to interact with people.
- 29:38Speaker 1: Okay. So it's not announce it okay, not a huge
- 29:41Speaker 1: KFI event, but still a KFI broadcast and somewhat of
- 29:45Speaker 1: a KFI event.
- 29:45Speaker 2: Yeah, it'll be.
- 29:46Speaker 1: And Neil does these regularly and people absolutely love it. Oh.
- 29:49Speaker 2: Also, I'm on with Conway every Friday night starting at seven,
- 29:53Speaker 2: So I'll be on with Conway tonight at seven o'clock.
- 29:56Speaker 2: He just invited me, and so every every Friday I'm
- 29:59Speaker 2: on with Conway seven pm.
- 30:00Speaker 1: Now, okay, And so you're really spreading yourself thin, although
- 30:04Speaker 1: there's nothing thin about you when you think about.
- 30:06Speaker 2: It, it's spreading myself thick. Yeah for sure.
- 30:10Speaker 1: And then Monday morning we come back and Sam, are
- 30:14Speaker 1: you with us on Monday? I don't think so. No,
- 30:16Speaker 1: but you guys are going to be in good hands. Okay.
- 30:20Speaker 2: Cono feel weird?
- 30:22Speaker 1: Yeah, Cono is yeah, really weird. Cono is back, I
- 30:25Speaker 1: think on Tuesday. In the meantime, Monday morning, it starts
- 30:29Speaker 1: all over again, and it's Amy and it's uh and
- 30:33Speaker 1: what's his face? Oh yeah, Will, it's you two. Yeah,
- 30:35Speaker 1: he's pointing to himself. I completely forgot that he's there. Uh,
- 30:38Speaker 1: it's Amy and Will and then Neil and I jump in,
- 30:42Speaker 1: and then Cono is not here. I don't even know
- 30:46Speaker 1: who's filling in for Cono on Monday.
- 30:48Speaker 2: It's Jesse.
- 30:49Speaker 1: It's Jesse. Oh it's Jesse. Okay, be great if I
- 30:53Speaker 1: knew who Jesse was and him on Monday morning, Oh
