- 0:09Speaker 1: Inside the birds back.
- 0:14Speaker 2: What's going on? Everybody?
- 0:15Speaker 1: It is Jeff Mosher, Adam Kaplan, and we are going
- 0:18to talk about Eagles Brown's joint practice. The Eagles held
- 0:21their first of two on Wednesday. Adam was there. I
- 0:25was supposed to be there. I had a little mix up.
- 0:26Some things came up, so I couldn't make it. So, Adam,
- 0:29We're just gonna get all the intel through your eyes.
- 0:32So I am excited to talk to you about it
- 0:35because a lot of interesting things were said in the
- 0:37press conferences and some developments. The heat went back to
- 0:41being brutal again.
- 0:42Speaker 2: Huh, it's bad, man. It was.
- 0:44Speaker 3: As a matter of fact, I felt like I was
- 0:45in Los Angeles because if I didn't know any better,
- 0:49it was smoglike driving over at nine am. Practice started
- 0:52at ten, and then that it subsided right before practice,
- 0:56but it just driving over on ninety five was like, man,
- 0:58what of the hell? How did planes to fly out here?
- 1:00Speaker 2: Today? Anyway?
- 1:01Speaker 3: So yeah, it was low nineties, very humid. Practice was
- 1:05hour forty five plus a fifty minute developmental period, which
- 1:08is where the quarterbacks the three and four or both
- 1:11number three is whatever you want to call them. McCord
- 1:15and dtr for and brown where they got their work in. Yeah,
- 1:19it's just kind of weird, how like, And I get it,
- 1:21threes and fours aren't going to normally work doing the
- 1:24first part in the broader part of practice. But it's
- 1:28good to see that Eagles do that. They're not the
- 1:29only team, as I understand it, by the way, does that,
- 1:32but it's certainly good job by Sirianni when he brought
- 1:35that in here. Now it was your typical joint practice
- 1:38where the Egos offense versus the Browns defense in one field,
- 1:43then the opposit to the other field. So if if
- 1:46you're trying to watch all practice, it's you can't. You
- 1:49just the only thing you can do is what I
- 1:51did a lot, and I know you've done this, is
- 1:53I'll sit in the stands. Yeah, and he's no longer here,
- 1:56so we were allowed to actually sit, so yeah, and
- 2:00you can see everything, not everything, but mostly everything.
- 2:03Speaker 1: So that's tougher because you've got two things going on
- 2:07at once and you have to have your attention divided.
- 2:10Speaker 2: So what I do is, it's funny you say that.
- 2:12Speaker 3: So I'm like, if you're if you're watching on YouTube,
- 2:14I'm like, okay, here, here, here, and I'm hoping, okay,
- 2:16get this playover with before that other one gets that
- 2:19other field starts the next play. You know, that's kind
- 2:21of the balancing act. You're trying to take as much
- 2:23in and then at some point I get up close.
- 2:26I'll get on the sidelines from the field to the right.
- 2:30So yeah, it was I would call it on even
- 2:33for both sides of the football. Both sides of the football,
- 2:35Eagles offense and defense had their moments. I don't make
- 2:39too much about one on ones. You heard what Vic
- 2:41Fantu thinks about one on ones. Not much, right, They're
- 2:44just fun to watch there seeing Miles Garrett again go
- 2:47up against Lane Johnson with something else Garrett, Garrett had one,
- 2:51he got Lane. You know it happens, but it doesn't
- 2:55mean anything. But it's actually it's cool to watch. But
- 2:57I don't I read into nothing with one on ones,
- 2:59although when you see just as an overview, when you
- 3:03get to see these, I like and I think there's
- 3:05something to read into it.
- 3:05Speaker 2: Desbue what Vic says.
- 3:08Speaker 3: I understand there are going to be ten other players
- 3:10with a player in real football in a game. But
- 3:13you could see athleticism, start, stoppability for cornerbacks and safety.
- 3:16Speaker 2: That stuff's important.
- 3:18Speaker 3: How long have we talked about ringos really not good?
- 3:21Start and stop. That's a factor and you can see it.
- 3:24Speaker 1: Yeah, And I would say offensive defensive line, that's also
- 3:27where you're you're working on your fundamentals. You're working on
- 3:30this technique. You might be trying out pass rush moves
- 3:33as an offensive lineman. You may be still counting your
- 3:36steps and vertical sets. However, if you're seeing a guy
- 3:39getting raggedalled, you know, three four or five days in
- 3:42a row, well then you know his techniques and fundamentals
- 3:44need some work and that he is struggling. You know,
- 3:46I think Kenyan Green, I'll use as an example where
- 3:49I just thought, in the one on ones I've watched,
- 3:51he really hasn't, you know, stopped a variety of different
- 3:54guys from getting to the mark, and that told me
- 3:57that he was just struggling. Maybe it's in his head,
- 3:58maybe he's trying to whoever, whatever it is. But I
- 4:02think over the long haul you can use some evaluation.
- 4:04But you're right that Vic's right. Any one particular rep
- 4:08versus another, especially receivers versus corners where there's no pass rush,
- 4:13and you have all the time that that's not you
- 4:16know that that.
- 4:17Speaker 3: Was not fair, right, It's really that's the one I
- 4:20was going to get at. In terms of overall making
- 4:22a judgment. You can't because he's football has not done
- 4:25one on one that that that you know. It's not like, okay,
- 4:29it's twenty players and then there's two.
- 4:31Speaker 2: It doesn't work like that.
- 4:32Speaker 3: But you get to see the skill, athleticism, certain traits
- 4:37that you know you'd like to see. But anyway, so
- 4:39let's get started on the Eagles offense versus the Browns defense.
- 4:41And yeah, Tanner McKee, the more I watch him, the
- 4:46more amazed I am. Because in year one, I didn't
- 4:48think he could take the ball, he could take anything
- 4:50off the football. I just didn't think the tanks are great.
- 4:53We talked about it. He didn't move very well. And honestly,
- 4:56you got to give the coaches who've worked with him.
- 4:59Now this year three, he already the kid is got it, man.
- 5:03And the thing that's really I love with him With
- 5:05Darius Cooper, I'm looking at my notes here his ability
- 5:08because I remember talking to.
- 5:09Speaker 2: Flaco about this.
- 5:10Speaker 3: Joe told me early in his career, biggest challenge is
- 5:13take some off of footba because you know, Flack going
- 5:15the strongest arms at NFL history. Now you touch passes
- 5:18when you're going from Delaware to the big leagues. And
- 5:21the key took a couple of shallows to Cooper. I
- 5:26really like what Tanner did. It's just it's it's a
- 5:28nuance of the game. That's kind of stuff I look for.
- 5:32Anyone could go to practice. Gay Eagles got to touchdown
- 5:35on this play, but what are you actually seeing? That's
- 5:37what we do here. And I really was impressed with
- 5:40his ability to take something off it. And then if
- 5:42you see a deep comeback, then you go wow. Deep
- 5:45comeback is a pure power throw. Hurts has come a
- 5:48long way. Deep comebacks. They don't run them a lot,
- 5:50but when they do, Jalen's because we know he's got
- 5:52a good long distance arm. But that's not about power,
- 5:54that's about touch. Jalen's improved his arm strength. But this kid,
- 5:58as Greg co Sel says, this is an easy thrower,
- 6:01Tarner McKee, and he that was on display if folks
- 6:04got a chance to watch him on Wednesday.
- 6:06Speaker 1: Right, And he was going up against the brown second defense, right,
- 6:08because it would be first verse, first verse.
- 6:10Speaker 3: Second yeah yeah, yeah, yep, yep, so I I was
- 6:14oppressed with that hurts shallow to Davante four score Dotson.
- 6:20They're doing a good job of freeing him up. It's
- 6:22not so much motion. It's okay. This play, he's lineup
- 6:28as the Z. This next play they're going to twelve
- 6:32personnel because A. J. Brown didn't practice. He was out
- 6:34there virtually the entire practice, chewing his teammates on. But
- 6:37they're just being smart with the hamstring, which is fine.
- 6:39You know, he got worker later this week, so he's fine.
- 6:42They're just not gonna they're not gonna force it. Davante
- 6:45is just another guy where he's so what he's unappreciated
- 6:49because he does so much of the dirty work for
- 6:51kind under one hundred and seventy pounds. He's pretty pretty remarkable,
- 6:55a nice smith. They continue to reduce him, like he
- 6:58starts off a little bit. Why then right before the
- 7:01snap they'll reduce him. Or what they'll do is they'll
- 7:03move him. They'll start out wide and then they move
- 7:06him in motion. But this is another good Johnny Wilson practice,
- 7:09I have to say, because we've been very critical because
- 7:11it's all been warranted. This is two weeks now and
- 7:13the word I was given as urgency with this guy,
- 7:16I would give Aaron Moorehead credit. Whatever he's doing with him.
- 7:20He's reaching the kid because the kid's playing like he
- 7:22knows he's got to bring it, and that is really
- 7:25good to see because you can't teach size and he's
- 7:27got a lot of it.
- 7:29Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 7:29Speaker 1: I'm not sure if I made this point with you
- 7:31or with Football four Mike Gill or whoever's filling in,
- 7:35but I would think that there is a positive influence
- 7:38that Aaron Moorehead can have on Wilson because Aaron Moorehead himself.
- 7:41I mean, he's not as tall as Johnny Wilson, f
- 7:43you are, but he was a taller receiver in the NFL.
- 7:46He's like six through sixty three kind of guy. But
- 7:49he's frown four. Right. But if I recall correctly, he
- 7:52would play some slot with the Cults, which is where
- 7:56they're also lining up Johnny Wilson a little bit. They
- 8:00had I want to say, they of course had Reggie Wayne, right,
- 8:04but they had another, of course outside.
- 8:06Speaker 2: Guy well other than Marvin and Reggie. I'd have to
- 8:11go Brett Stokely was the slot rightly.
- 8:16Speaker 1: I think Morehead was also like a fourth receiver and
- 8:18he would occasionally play in the slot as well.
- 8:19Speaker 3: Yeah, he probably was a backup X but he was
- 8:21also a good special teams player. But anyway, so Johnny
- 8:24Wilson showing up right now, he's the four. The question
- 8:28is that Terrence Marshall is getting a lot of run here.
- 8:31Can he secure the fifth because Darius Cooper this is
- 8:34one of those and whoever has that the South whatever
- 8:38they call it, whoever, that's a help of this. Darius
- 8:40Cooper is legit is right. We're gonna look more into
- 8:44why he wasn't drafted, because you can't you watch this kid.
- 8:47You go, how the if it wasn't he drafted?
- 8:50Speaker 1: You know, yeah, and don't forget about it. You mentioned
- 8:52him and Nyah Smith. I mean he's in the mix
- 8:54for Yeah.
- 8:54Speaker 3: Well, you know, in personnel, the teams that feel like
- 8:58they have a really good roster, they'll tell you, hey,
- 9:01you know, we're gonna be cutting some players that are probably
- 9:02gonna make another team. I'm not saying these Eagles backups
- 9:06are great, but they're showing up.
- 9:08Speaker 2: They're showing up.
- 9:10Speaker 1: I agree I think it's been a while since the
- 9:12Eagles had a good reason to keep six. It's been
- 9:14been a little bit, right, I mean even the Super
- 9:18Bowl a couple of years ago that they lost. I mean,
- 9:19Qus Watkins was your three. The kid from Pascal was
- 9:23your four. He was a good special teamer. You couldn't
- 9:26get the five and make a legitimate case that, yeah,
- 9:28of anybody that I can remember, right, I mean they've tried, right,
- 9:31they had DeVante Parker who retired last year. I mean
- 9:34they've tried to add but.
- 9:36Speaker 2: Former Eagle not legend, yes.
- 9:37Speaker 1: Right, John high Tower never really cut it. So I
- 9:40think this is the first year in a while where
- 9:43they may have to have a conversation about keeping six
- 9:46as long as your five and six can play special
- 9:48teams and contribute.
- 9:50Speaker 2: So yeah, that's interesting.
- 9:51Speaker 3: Yeah, logic, Cook's are not ready I come back from
- 9:53his shoulder. So it in Taylor Moran. He's a real
- 9:58long shot because you don't especially if if and I
- 10:01Smith makes it, it's gonna be hard to keep Taylor morn.
- 10:04But man, he's another guy plays bigger than this listed size.
- 10:08He's bigger than you think. It might be five eleven,
- 10:10But man, he's for a slot receiver. He's got a
- 10:12little bit thickness to him, so so he's interesting, to
- 10:17be honest with you, they're all it's an interesting competition
- 10:20getting over to O line as we we when we'll
- 10:22get the running back. There's some really good stuff there
- 10:25O line wise, I thought they were leaking in past protection,
- 10:28but man, they're run they're run blocking. Drew Kendall. I
- 10:32know he's not the big skuy. I know he's not strong,
- 10:34but man technique is good.
- 10:37Speaker 2: You would hope so.
- 10:37Speaker 3: Because his dad was Pete Pete Kendall, he's a good
- 10:40NFL player. But I'll tell you what Man and and
- 10:45and Stein Stein, as you know, is really settled in
- 10:51a right guard, and and and then it was it
- 10:53was Toth of course for Dickerson, and then Canard backed
- 10:56him up at left Guarden. I just thought for the
- 10:59run game, and Shipley was really good, explosive, slippery, he
- 11:04look at my notes here. He fits the whole extremely well,
- 11:06gets skinny. He's just really good at it. And the
- 11:10other surprising thing to me, no one's ever gonna fuse
- 11:14aj Gyllen with Barclay's jump cut. But this is the
- 11:18second practice I've watched Dylan have an amazing jump cut.
- 11:21Didn't even know he had one. He looks good man,
- 11:24he's back like he's not just that individual play, but
- 11:27watching sixty seven practices, knowing what I know about him,
- 11:31he looks good man. They're in They're in real good
- 11:33hands here at the running back position right now.
- 11:35Speaker 1: Yeah, like we said all along, it will not be
- 11:37a question of talent with Dylan. It will be a
- 11:39question of health and so good now, he is the
- 11:43perfect kind of guy. It'll be interesting at the groster
- 11:47cut down to see if they can cut him and
- 11:50bring him back on the practice squad. I don't see,
- 11:53I don't no chance.
- 11:56Speaker 2: Here's what no, but here's why. Uh huh you have too?
- 12:01Speaker 3: You get three call ups? Right, Yes, I still think
- 12:03that's the rule. Yep, you got you just the guys
- 12:09shown it. Why what Well, let me put it to
- 12:11you this way.
- 12:11Speaker 1: Why would sing it only to go heavier in one
- 12:14area for a few weeks and then you play your roster,
- 12:17your your tango and you bring him back. He's a
- 12:19vested vet, right sure?
- 12:21Speaker 2: Oh yeah, he could be one of the vets.
- 12:22Speaker 3: Yeah you have yeah, yeah, he's eligible to to be
- 12:26the parts. I I just don't see the point now
- 12:29on But I'll say this though.
- 12:32Speaker 1: He doesn't have to pass through waivers.
- 12:33Speaker 2: Correct, No, No, he's vested.
- 12:35Speaker 3: No.
- 12:35Speaker 2: But here's my point on that one.
- 12:36Speaker 1: Mhm.
- 12:38Speaker 3: You mentioned it earlier about six receivers. Typically you don't
- 12:41want to keep six receivers they I think you were
- 12:44saying it on Football four. I think on Wednesday. You
- 12:47can't go heavy everywhere.
- 12:49Speaker 2: So if you go you know.
- 12:50Speaker 3: The Eagles love to keep their ten off ten or
- 12:52eleven offensive linemen. If they keep eleven and six receivers.
- 12:56Speaker 2: You gotta go skinny somewhere. You have to. Yeah, but
- 13:00Dylan is well, here's the problem with that. Here's another
- 13:03reason why A J. Jillen.
- 13:05Speaker 3: If AJ Jllen keeps us up, he clearly can be
- 13:07a valuable backup. He could sit He him and his
- 13:10agent on your on your premise could say we're not
- 13:12doing that. AJ will just go to this other team
- 13:14and be the backup or or or be on the
- 13:16roster to get to get a full salary.
- 13:19Speaker 1: Yeah. I guess there would have to be that interest there,
- 13:21and there wasn't a whole lot. I don't see him
- 13:23going into him we'll see. We'll absolutely see, you know,
- 13:27like the Eagles like to be shrewd. I mean, how
- 13:29much are they going to use Dylan for the first
- 13:31three weeks of the season. Maybe not much because Barkley's
- 13:34gonna be healthy, you would assume for at least the
- 13:36first few weeks. So I don't know. It was just
- 13:38something I've been trying to wrestle in my mind as
- 13:40I try to figure out the fifty three. But that's
- 13:42for a talk for for a couple of weeks from now.
- 13:45So I guess real quick on your offensive line point though,
- 13:47you were saying, I guess Brett Brett Toath was once
- 13:49again the starting left guard right.
- 13:52Speaker 3: And yeah, fully expected that he's that.
- 13:57Speaker 1: Canard was second team right guard.
- 13:58Speaker 3: Yes, yes, And then it's in Bryant. Now that that's
- 14:02another question. Will they keep three? He he is the
- 14:04three right now? Harrison Bryant, former brown There's really odd.
- 14:08There are a lot of former Brown's who are Eagles
- 14:10and Eagles and former Browns. Jandre Carter, Harrison Bryant. Just
- 14:13talk about guys who switched teams. Oh you know who
- 14:16is there? He's a you know, the Browns director director
- 14:20of player development, is.
- 14:23Speaker 1: Brown's director of player development.
- 14:25Speaker 3: No, he's a former for he's a former Eagles receivers coach.
- 14:29Speaker 2: I think I just gave it away, don't Craig Lewis.
- 14:33I still don't know the non immortal Carson Walsh.
- 14:37Speaker 1: Oh wow, I forgot about Carson.
- 14:40Speaker 2: I'm like, wait a minute, is that Carson Walsh? And
- 14:41I'm like, all, I gotta look this up.
- 14:43Speaker 1: That's so he's in an administrative role now, yeah, yeah, he's.
- 14:46Speaker 3: Been there for a couple of years. That's an interesting
- 14:48highre so e J. Jenkson's you know, he plays special teams.
- 14:52He'll push Bryant.
- 14:53Speaker 2: We'll see how that works out. The number three quarterback.
- 14:56Speaker 3: Role is still the same with d t r a
- 15:00little bit ahead another former Brown. Other than that, I
- 15:04mean that's pretty much. I'm looking at individual plays. I
- 15:10talked about that Dallas Goddard. I know he won't get
- 15:16the ball enough because it's got to go through A J. Brown,
- 15:19then DeVante Smith, but he's literally uncoverable this dude. I
- 15:23did it again on a on a scene passing and
- 15:28then on a overall nobody covers him. It's a second
- 15:32straight training camp. He looks so dominant, but there's not
- 15:36much they can do and they're not going to be
- 15:37a heavy eleven personnel team.
- 15:39Speaker 1: Okay, let's transition into what you saw defensively. First, you
- 15:41got to hear a word from our great friends. It's
- 15:44Sky motor Cars.
- 15:45Speaker 4: Sky motor Cars and West guess there was a different
- 15:47building dealers. All the tanks is one one with their
- 15:50highline pre owned mihicles. The people all over the country
- 15:52what the motor bred shoulder. Make sure you don't spend
- 15:55the time with your money before you've purchased the car.
- 15:58Sky motor Cars allow you like all the decisions regarding
- 16:01your next day. At Sky motor Cars, you never have
- 16:05to spend more than necessary. There's at Skymotorcars dot Com
- 16:08today are called sixteen nine to one, eight seven five.
- 16:15Speaker 1: And if you stop into Sky motor Cars, make sure
- 16:17you tell them, tell them Adam and Jeff Centia. You'll
- 16:19get a great deal. All the way out there in Westchester, PA.
- 16:23You gotta go stop in and see them and get
- 16:24the greatest car shopping experience, great inventory, great customer service.
- 16:29If you can't make it, that's why you can go
- 16:31to Skymotorcars dot Com. All right, Defensively, Adam One thing,
- 16:36I uh, that was discussed in the press conference. You
- 16:39had made a mention of this last time you went,
- 16:42and that's the defensive line doing a lot of shifting
- 16:45pre snap itself. And I forget who brought it up,
- 16:49but they were basically explaining that against the run, it
- 16:52makes it harder for the offensive linemen to coordinate their
- 16:56double team blocks if you have the defensive line shifting
- 17:00or the snap. So good observation by you. That's intentional.
- 17:03It's something that I think they did a decent amount
- 17:06last year against certain teams, but that does make it
- 17:08difficult for alignement because you have rules, right if you're
- 17:11the uncovered lineman, you jump into the second level, if
- 17:14you're the center of the guard, you worked that double
- 17:16team on the tackle or the three technique or the
- 17:18zero and then move up. So you almost have to
- 17:21change the rules if you have the defensive line moving
- 17:24before the snap. So that was I wanted to point
- 17:25out that you made an important observation there.
- 17:29Speaker 3: And you know what's good, Gabe Hall returned that was
- 17:31good because when I saw him holding his arm, I'm like, no, man,
- 17:35I hope this is not bad. They can't afford another.
- 17:38They were so fin but he got a little bit
- 17:40of work and I was watching him.
- 17:42Speaker 2: He is so long, man.
- 17:44Speaker 3: That's the thing, the advantage of you going to practice
- 17:46because I look for this stuff body types. He's so long.
- 17:51You can't teach size man. That that and he's starting
- 17:53to developed. This is a good job here by Clint Hurt.
- 17:57What do we say last year, if he can't reach
- 17:59Gabe Hall, forget about it. Gal'll never play yep, you know.
- 18:01And he's getting to this kid. Good for Gabe Hall
- 18:03to take coaching.
- 18:05Speaker 2: This is good. Yeah.
- 18:06Speaker 3: The Browns pass the game was way off. I'm looking
- 18:09at my notes here. I know said should have got
- 18:12hurt within the first twenty minutes. But Dylan Gabriel was
- 18:15coming back from the rookie come back from a hamstring injury.
- 18:18He was off Flacco and Flack was timing with his receivers.
- 18:22Just wasn't there now in one of ones because Flacco
- 18:28does throw some anticipation. Him and Jerry Judy hooked up some.
- 18:32Sometimes they were off. Ringo was picked on. He gave
- 18:36up his share of plays. And I'm expecting today to
- 18:40Flacco because when they watched the tape, I'm sure they
- 18:43saw that they're gonna want to take advantage of that.
- 18:46Speaker 2: Ringo is he's he's.
- 18:51Speaker 3: It's it's hard for him to start and stop. It
- 18:52just you see it if you really watch it closely.
- 18:54At practice, which I was doing, Greg co Sell pointed
- 18:58this out to him. It's the first time Greg pointed that
- 19:00out to us since we've been talking to Greg about
- 19:02we're gonna go for three years now. Greg pointed out
- 19:04more than once the Saucason when we talked to him
- 19:08that it's a problem and it's something that I don't
- 19:12know that you could cure, and it's he was the
- 19:14first guy up, by the way, but they're split reps
- 19:16him in Jackson. It's completely even Bennett got work with
- 19:19the twos mostly a little bit with the ones. He
- 19:21had up and down practice. He made some places, he
- 19:24gave up some plays. I would not say their secretary
- 19:27to play great, But the point was that the Browns
- 19:31passive game was not there.
- 19:33Speaker 2: It just wasn't.
- 19:36Speaker 3: Other than that, I would say that mcouba got some
- 19:40work with the ones, mostly with the twos. Brown was
- 19:43first up. I'm not reading into anything. The three weeks
- 19:45left mcubas to makeup for lost time. They want him
- 19:49to start. They drafted him to start. You don't draft
- 19:51someone in the second round not to start if the
- 19:52guy's ready. But they're not gonna know for three weeks
- 19:54until he's ready. They're not gonna know until he gets
- 19:57thrown into the deepense, so to speak, and keeps playing,
- 20:00and we'll see what happens there. So other than that,
- 20:05it was Campbell.
- 20:07Speaker 1: Did you sense any a decent amount of edge pressure?
- 20:11I thought that this was any for bringing that up.
- 20:14I thought was Boy, did his length show up? He's
- 20:16only six two and a half, but thirty.
- 20:18Speaker 3: Four and a half inch arms my gun to show
- 20:20up because I keep forgetting he's thirteen. I'm sick of
- 20:23these quarterback numbers for edge rushers defensive players.
- 20:27Speaker 2: But he is long. Josh Usha brought it. The energy
- 20:31he's got. He's got some explosion jar.
- 20:34Speaker 3: You just cannot teach that that that length and man
- 20:37Patrick Johnson again, he's getting reps yet another former Brown
- 20:42or former Eagle. Obo Conkra number fifty.
- 20:45Speaker 1: He's had a nice camp.
- 20:47Speaker 3: Yeah, he's running mostly with threes. But so Ojalar showed up.
- 20:51Ojomo Okay, So here's the new thing I got from
- 20:54Ojomo because he basically wins with speed. He had an
- 20:59arm over move which I happened to. It wasn't too
- 21:02far from me, so I was able to see it.
- 21:03I'm like, I know there were some minor character knocks
- 21:08for him, but he should have gone on the fourth
- 21:11or fifth, the seventh. Really, what, what the hell's the
- 21:14NFL this guy?
- 21:15Speaker 1: Yeah, that one still befuddles me. When we checked into it,
- 21:18it didn't seem like there was anything overly overly bad
- 21:21about him. Nothing, yeah, nothing, nothing a lot. So you
- 21:25know what really jumps out to me is the wingspan
- 21:29you mentioned with Gabe Hall, and we know that Moro
- 21:31Jomo has really long arms, and I wonder if you can,
- 21:34if it can ever get some kind of sub package
- 21:36where a Hall and this would entail taking Jail and
- 21:39Carter off the field probably, But if you get Hall
- 21:41and a Jomo next to each other, like inside, both
- 21:44in that that three technique position where they're rushing the
- 21:47passer and you get their arms up, I mean that
- 21:49could be really difficult for quarterbacks, for passing lanes you
- 21:52can bat down balls and just general for short armed
- 21:55guards to have two really long armed out there, making
- 22:00can you know, disruption.
- 22:01Speaker 3: So we had the NASCAR package which was it was
- 22:04actually the real story was going on well before the
- 22:07Giants did it, but just Spags was because they were
- 22:10a marquee team. Everyone saw what the NASCAR package was, right,
- 22:13they could go with the left and speed package with
- 22:15Ty Robinson is explosive.
- 22:18Speaker 2: Ojelari obviously, as.
- 22:19Speaker 3: You mentioned Hunt of course, but he's not a great
- 22:23past rusher yet.
- 22:25Speaker 1: Have long arms. He's a long arm guy. Nolan Smith
- 22:28is a guy who's got body frame.
- 22:31Speaker 3: Moro, Yes, Moro's got length. It's the one issue which
- 22:36I still struggle with seeing it in one stay in particular,
- 22:40I just struggle to see a big time pass thrussher. Now,
- 22:43the question would be do they need one? You'd like
- 22:45someone to emerge. We know that that Nolan Smith, you know,
- 22:49if you have the playoffs at over ten sacks, and
- 22:51he certainly came on for three quarters of the season.
- 22:52Speaker 2: But is he big? Is he big time enough? I
- 22:56don't know that yet.
- 22:57Speaker 3: I will well have to see so that that would
- 22:59be my one concerned with this front. It's just gonna
- 23:01be a big time gay.
- 23:03Speaker 1: Agreed, all right, Some of the stuff for me because
- 23:05it seemed like there was a sentiment among those covering
- 23:08the team that, well, I'm gonna say that the Browns
- 23:11won the product if we get into who won or lost.
- 23:13But a couple of years ago, I remember we did
- 23:16this pod after you came back from the Brea one,
- 23:18and you were like, the Eagles just kicked the crap
- 23:21out of the Browns up and down the field. Was
- 23:22this a different kind of It wasn't anything like that.
- 23:27Speaker 3: It depends on how you evaluate. You could see, you
- 23:30could see, really see when a team crushes the other
- 23:32one that I've been probably eighty to one hundred joint practices.
- 23:38That was the most dominant I've seen one team ever.
- 23:40Speaker 2: It was that. Yeah, that was three years ago. That
- 23:45was ridiculous. Two years ago is very even. I don't know.
- 23:49Speaker 3: I you could, you could make the case of the
- 23:51Browns did, but it would be See. That was my
- 23:54problem when you say that if you were there, did
- 23:57you watch both sides of the football.
- 23:59Speaker 2: You can't watch every snaps impossible, right, But now.
- 24:02Speaker 1: Certain in general stood out to you that it wasn't
- 24:05like the Egles wiped the floor with the Browns this time.
- 24:07Speaker 2: No one did.
- 24:08Speaker 3: I didn't think so now now, I would tell you
- 24:10that Miles Garrett had his moments where he got them,
- 24:14not just a one of ones where where he did
- 24:16very very well. Jerry Judy had some moments that he had,
- 24:19some moments where his timing was off with Flacco wherever
- 24:23strong to him. The Browns aren't real strong at running backs,
- 24:26so the Eagles didn't have a problem slowing up their
- 24:29run game. Again, I don't, I don't know but that
- 24:33that's very subjective that this one wasn't so dominant by
- 24:35the Browns that you could say that. But I'm going
- 24:37to talk to them later today, and I'm i'll uh,
- 24:40I'm very curious.
- 24:41Speaker 1: Yeah, no, I'm I'm. I always like that when you
- 24:44sort of go behind the scenes and talk to some
- 24:45people about it and come back with even better.
- 24:47Speaker 3: Happened to tell you, well, not only happened to tell
- 24:49you if they did what I'm I'm just joking, but
- 24:52because I know, as I talked about this two years ago,
- 24:55they were not happy with their performance in twenty two
- 24:57and they kind of brought it here in Philly two
- 24:58years ago.
- 25:00Speaker 2: They were embarrassed.
- 25:01Speaker 3: I think, I mean, I'm speaking for them just based
- 25:03on three or four conversations I had three years ago, right,
- 25:06I don't think they were real happy. Plus it was
- 25:08in their own building three years ago. Bria.
- 25:11Speaker 2: I'll say this one, it was really weird because I
- 25:13don't believe.
- 25:15Speaker 3: There are very few It was either closed to the
- 25:19public or there are very few fans there because I
- 25:22remember being very quiet. M m.
- 25:24Speaker 2: This one was not. It was very lively. Pretty good
- 25:26crowd there by the way at Never Care.
- 25:31Speaker 1: All right, cool, cool, Well, they got one left before
- 25:34Saturday's preseason game. It'll be today. I'll be there, so
- 25:37we'll have it all well uncovered and we'll do another
- 25:40one of these and hopefully maybe we can get Andrew
- 25:42in and do a roundtable discussion and wrap it all off.
- 25:45Speaker 2: That would be good.
- 25:46Speaker 1: So stay tuned on Inside the Birds because we will
