- 0:05Speaker 1: Matt Heytman of Rock Realty Online Rock Wisconsin dot com.
- 0:09Speaker 1: That's Rock r O c K Wisconsin dot com. Of
- 0:13Speaker 1: course you can download the app, just head on over
- 0:15Speaker 1: to MLS dot rocksbackslash or forward slash app. Just a
- 0:19Speaker 1: slash works, doesn't it? Yeah? I think it's forward slash.
- 0:22Speaker 1: The ford Ford tilts to the right, tilts, Yeah, up
- 0:26Speaker 1: up to the top part tilts to the right. Yeah,
- 0:28Speaker 1: that's I always think it leans forward that kind of
- 0:30Speaker 1: the way. I like that. Good to see you. How
- 0:32Speaker 1: how I got to ask? We were We've got a
- 0:35Speaker 1: fantastic show ahead and we're going to talk about the holidays.
- 0:38Speaker 1: Got big plans for the Thanksgiving holiday at the Heypeman Household.
- 0:41Speaker 1: It's it's going to be.
- 0:42Speaker 2: One of those times when we actually host. So yeah,
- 0:45Speaker 2: it's going to be an adventure.
- 0:46Speaker 1: Pressure's on, Yeah, the pressure is on. There is always
- 0:49Speaker 1: like and correct me if I'm wrong. I think this
- 0:52Speaker 1: is universal, like a different level of cleaning that needs
- 0:55Speaker 1: to be done when there's company coming over, like things
- 0:57Speaker 1: that like I'll use the pre households. We're not slobs.
- 1:02Speaker 1: And to me, I come home each day and I
- 1:04Speaker 1: don't think, boy, this house could use a good scrub.
- 1:07Speaker 1: And but if gosh forbid, the in laws are coming over,
- 1:10Speaker 1: my wife will send me a text basically do a
- 1:13Speaker 1: good scrub, and it's like there's like this other level
- 1:16Speaker 1: of clean that has to happen. Yeah.
- 1:18Speaker 2: I think that that's when you take a kind of
- 1:20Speaker 2: a step back in your living room and you realize
- 1:22Speaker 2: all the little clutter that's made it onto the shelves
- 1:24Speaker 2: and such. You know that you just normally don't notice.
- 1:26Speaker 1: Yeah, it's some of that applicable for getting a house
- 1:29Speaker 1: ready for a showing. By the way, well, yeah.
- 1:32Speaker 2: Yeah, absolutely, you know it's one of those things, especially
- 1:34Speaker 2: when we first list of house, you kind of take
- 1:36Speaker 2: that same kind of step back and say, Okay, if
- 1:38Speaker 2: I'm a buyer, what do I see? And know things
- 1:41Speaker 2: pop out to you that wouldn't normally like the dust
- 1:44Speaker 2: in the in the corner or on the window sills,
- 1:46Speaker 2: things like that.
- 1:47Speaker 1: Do you guys have a junk bull at your house.
- 1:48Speaker 1: I know everyone's got a junk drawer, but you have
- 1:50Speaker 1: like a bowl or a container that like things out
- 1:52Speaker 1: of your pocket that just kind of accumulate.
- 1:54Speaker 2: We have multiple shelves, okay, yeah, but again I think
- 2:00Speaker 2: these are universal thols.
- 2:01Speaker 1: Are like the things that like for the holidays, you know,
- 2:03Speaker 1: it's like, oh, we gotta get meg.
- 2:05Speaker 2: Yeah, you picked the shelf that's the least visible and
- 2:07Speaker 2: just kind of keep throwing things there. Yeah, the coupones
- 2:10Speaker 2: that you think you're gonna use evctually.
- 2:12Speaker 1: A lot of those Bucky books on those file. We're
- 2:15Speaker 1: going to talk about getting your home ready for the
- 2:16Speaker 1: holidays with Matt, and of course Matt comes to us
- 2:19Speaker 1: from Rockrealty Online Rock Wisconsin dot com. That's r O
- 2:22Speaker 1: c K Wisconsin dot com. Before we get rolling though
- 2:25Speaker 1: on this week's conversation, what a house we were looking
- 2:28Speaker 1: at this before we came on the air this morning.
- 2:31Speaker 1: A great home for a family or maybe looking to uh,
- 2:34Speaker 1: looking to get into a really nice place in Rock County.
- 2:38Speaker 1: You've got a fantastic listing right in Janesville. Let's talk
- 2:41Speaker 1: about this house on Plymouth Avenue.
- 2:43Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, before we got live here, we were
- 2:45Speaker 2: talking about first time home buyers and what first time
- 2:48Speaker 2: homes would look like, and this is this is one
- 2:50Speaker 2: of those homes.
- 2:51Speaker 1: In my opinion, we're.
- 2:52Speaker 2: Looking at two five one eight Plymouth Avenue in Janesville.
- 2:58Speaker 2: It's listed for two hundred and seventy thousand. These days,
- 3:01Speaker 2: just finding again two in the front is exciting, and
- 3:05Speaker 2: it's got the three bedrooms that most people are looking for,
- 3:08Speaker 2: one bath, and it's got a two car attached garage
- 3:12Speaker 2: which is really nice with an extra wide driveway so
- 3:15Speaker 2: you can fet your toys and such, and listed at
- 3:18Speaker 2: a great price at two hundred and seventy. And also
- 3:21Speaker 2: it's a ranch, so it'll work for those that have
- 3:24Speaker 2: younger knees or older knees.
- 3:26Speaker 1: That is, that's and that's an important thing. Yes, it's
- 3:28Speaker 1: very as we get older or of course got the
- 3:31Speaker 1: kiddo's as well. And the other thing too, it's not
- 3:33Speaker 1: less thing for people that aren't familiar with Janesville. A
- 3:36Speaker 1: really kind of a great stretch of road is that is.
- 3:39Speaker 1: And also I don't know if folks haven't had a
- 3:42Speaker 1: chance to get down to Janesville. Three lanes both ways
- 3:45Speaker 1: on the interstate, which means you're if you work in Madison,
- 3:48Speaker 1: for example, you're in town like that, and then you've
- 3:51Speaker 1: got the benefits of Janesville downtown is.
- 3:54Speaker 2: Just oh manful place, like you were saying, especially the
- 3:58Speaker 2: changing the on ramps and offering. I'm so it just
- 4:00Speaker 2: made it very convenient. And then every time that we're
- 4:04Speaker 2: thinking about going out to dinner, it just seems that
- 4:06Speaker 2: every idea we come up with, Jaans Will happens to
- 4:08Speaker 2: have that restaurant.
- 4:09Speaker 1: So where else are you going to find three chicken
- 4:12Speaker 1: restaurants on one intersection other than James Will Wisconsin. Of course,
- 4:16Speaker 1: this house again listed at two seventy It's a really
- 4:18Speaker 1: really beautiful house. You can check that out online rock
- 4:21Speaker 1: Wisconsin dot com. That's roc K Wisconsin dot com, or
- 4:25Speaker 1: to set up a list name called Britney Doyle or
- 4:27Speaker 1: telephone number six so eight for nine eight seventy seven
- 4:30Speaker 1: ninety seven. That's four nine eight seventy seven ninety seven.
- 4:34Speaker 1: We'll talk a little bit more about the house as
- 4:36Speaker 1: the as the show progresses, and we kind of I
- 4:40Speaker 1: guess I kind of spoiled the lead here as we're
- 4:43Speaker 1: going to talk this week about getting your home ready
- 4:45Speaker 1: for holidays. Kind of that big first point is decluttering,
- 4:48Speaker 1: isn't it.
- 4:49Speaker 2: Matt, Yeah, yeah, I thought that, you know, with Thanksgiving
- 4:52Speaker 2: coming up and you know the fact that we were
- 4:54Speaker 2: having to host, maybe we should look for some tips
- 4:57Speaker 2: online and so Lindsey Edgren, arm marketing director threw together
- 5:01Speaker 2: a good list here that starts with clean and declutter
- 5:04Speaker 2: your home. So, yeah, as we mentioned earlier, take a
- 5:08Speaker 2: step back, take a look around, view the house as
- 5:11Speaker 2: if somebody that was first seeing it is viewing it,
- 5:14Speaker 2: and you may notice some of those shells that have
- 5:18Speaker 2: the coupons on them, or you know, some extra dusting
- 5:21Speaker 2: that needs to happen, or windows that need to be cleaned.
- 5:24Speaker 1: You know, there's not a lot of people often complain
- 5:27Speaker 1: about why do you play Christmas music? There's not a
- 5:29Speaker 1: lot of Thanksgiving music. There is no good point. There's
- 5:31Speaker 1: a lot of thanksgiving to core. By the way, that
- 5:33Speaker 1: may be a million dollar idea for you, that is
- 5:36Speaker 1: we'll record a Thanksgiving album. Yeah, we should do that.
- 5:39Speaker 1: Is that the mood got the soprano part or I
- 5:42Speaker 1: think you know, I've got I've got a range, I've
- 5:44Speaker 1: got a vocal range.
- 5:46Speaker 2: Sounds like a plan.
- 5:47Speaker 1: I could do the I could do the base. You know,
- 5:49Speaker 1: we do a little that all. Yeah, but you really
- 5:52Speaker 1: want to set the kind of the atmosphere and putting
- 5:57Speaker 1: together some Thanksgiving the core. There's a lot of options there,
- 6:00Speaker 1: isn't there.
- 6:00Speaker 2: Yeah, Yeah, And obviously, I mean there's a lot of
- 6:04Speaker 2: people that really enjoy, you know, doing the themes inside
- 6:07Speaker 2: their home, right and they have the extra space in
- 6:09Speaker 2: their storage area to keep all those extra decorations. But yeah,
- 6:12Speaker 2: decorating for Thanksgiving, you know, normally you'd want to have
- 6:14Speaker 2: like a warm, festive environment, right, create the right mood
- 6:19Speaker 2: table settings that you know, have those those oranges and
- 6:22Speaker 2: browns and you know, leaves.
- 6:25Speaker 1: Or gourds, sometimes pumpkins.
- 6:28Speaker 2: Right, different centerpieces, maybe some fall accents on on said
- 6:33Speaker 2: shelves or around the house near the entrance way.
- 6:36Speaker 1: Would you encourage people if if they're thinking about listing
- 6:38Speaker 1: in the in the coming years, maybe get kind of
- 6:40Speaker 1: some pictures of that set up. Is just kind of
- 6:43Speaker 1: a look of like different seasons of I know, we
- 6:45Speaker 1: think about oftentimes, you know, summer, great outdoor pictures or
- 6:50Speaker 1: or fall, especially if you've got a tree that gets
- 6:52Speaker 1: a lot of color. But like sometimes and I don't know,
- 6:55Speaker 1: you're the you're the expert here. Seeing the house through
- 6:58Speaker 1: the seasons from the inside is benefit. I mean, if
- 7:00Speaker 1: folks are thinking maybe of listening. Would that be of
- 7:03Speaker 1: any benefits in that?
- 7:04Speaker 2: I think that's a great idea. I think, you know,
- 7:06Speaker 2: whether that's Christmas, Thanksgiving something like that, or even Easter,
- 7:09Speaker 2: who knows. Interior photos like that, you know, could kind
- 7:12Speaker 2: of give the vibe and it's almost like a virtual
- 7:16Speaker 2: staging right for the rest of the year. The other
- 7:19Speaker 2: thing is, while we're on the subject, is making sure
- 7:21Speaker 2: to take some pictures of the home when the grass
- 7:24Speaker 2: is green and when the flowers are out. It takes
- 7:27Speaker 2: some good pictures that has some nice qualities so that
- 7:29Speaker 2: you can use those just in case you do list
- 7:31Speaker 2: in the fall or the winter and people just don't
- 7:33Speaker 2: get a chance to see all that.
- 7:34Speaker 1: I think two of you know is aspiring home buyers
- 7:38Speaker 1: or whether you're moving up or first time homebuyers. I
- 7:40Speaker 1: think a lot of us kind of have that until
- 7:42Speaker 1: we've done a couple of them. Then maybe the fantasy changes.
- 7:44Speaker 1: But hosting that first big holiday, whether it's Thanksgiving or
- 7:48Speaker 1: having having the parents over for the you know, for
- 7:51Speaker 1: the for the Christmas holiday and the siblings and you know,
- 7:54Speaker 1: it kind of a chance to show off and also
- 7:57Speaker 1: kind of a chance to kind of break in the
- 8:00Speaker 1: welcoming environment of the new home. So I just think of, yeah,
- 8:03Speaker 1: some great pictures of those holidays to kind of kind
- 8:05Speaker 1: of set the mood. What about kitchens, and kitchens are
- 8:09Speaker 1: are kind of a gathering place and a lot of homes,
- 8:11Speaker 1: you really want to get that kitchen space ready, don't you, Matt.
- 8:14Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean I think that it's important to obviously
- 8:18Speaker 2: make sure you have all the correct ingredients at a time,
- 8:21Speaker 2: but I have a meal plan in general, kind of
- 8:24Speaker 2: you know, write it all down, make sure that you're
- 8:26Speaker 2: not taking six trips to to the grocery store, even
- 8:29Speaker 2: though you probably still will. Yeah. One thing that we've
- 8:33Speaker 2: really found a lot that's been really helpful is and
- 8:37Speaker 2: we'll go on Amazon and you can find really good
- 8:40Speaker 2: deals on kind of plastic to go containers and you
- 8:43Speaker 2: get them like fifty at a time even and they
- 8:47Speaker 2: end up being pretty darning expensive, like I can't remember,
- 8:50Speaker 2: and maybe even less than.
- 8:51Speaker 1: A dollar each.
- 8:52Speaker 2: And if you have that ready, then you're not having
- 8:55Speaker 2: to find room for all those leftovers in the refrigerator.
- 8:57Speaker 1: Yeah. It's funny, as I think is as guys, typically
- 9:02Speaker 1: our role is the last minute run. So if like,
- 9:05Speaker 1: oh my goodness, we need more butter. We need. That's
- 9:07Speaker 1: it's it's always it seems to be in and probably
- 9:10Speaker 1: because the spouses are typically doing the hard work that
- 9:14Speaker 1: we get sent out. Yeah.
- 9:15Speaker 2: I always am I go for that. I raise my
- 9:18Speaker 2: hand that way, I'm not having to cook or clean
- 9:20Speaker 2: smart right, Yeah, I mean I am down for being
- 9:22Speaker 2: that caurier.
- 9:23Speaker 1: You can just call me grub hub. Yeah, because there
- 9:26Speaker 1: are like two times where you see men at the
- 9:28Speaker 1: at the grocery store outnumbering women. One is Thanksgiving and
- 9:32Speaker 1: the others like Valentine's Day and I love On Valentine's Day,
- 9:35Speaker 1: you'll look down the cardile For some reason, men keep
- 9:38Speaker 1: like a two foot distance from the cards until they're
- 9:40Speaker 1: ready to select.
- 9:41Speaker 2: Oh yeah, and from each other, and there's just kind
- 9:43Speaker 2: of like the silent nod to each other.
- 9:45Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly. So I'm talking this week with Matt Heytman
- 9:48Speaker 1: of Rockrealty Online Rock Wisconsin dot com. That's r O
- 9:52Speaker 1: C K Wisconsin dot com or telephone number six so
- 9:55Speaker 1: eight six seven three fifty four hundred. That's six seven
- 9:58Speaker 1: three fifty four hundred. Speaking of Thanksgiving coming up next week,
- 10:01Speaker 1: we will be doing a shown next week, so definitely
- 10:03Speaker 1: mark that on your calendars and matt as we work
- 10:06Speaker 1: through Thanksgiving, and I know one of the things that
- 10:10Speaker 1: happens when you've got family and friends over there could
- 10:12Speaker 1: be a little stress. And one way to kind of
- 10:14Speaker 1: lighten the mood a bit is to have a good
- 10:15Speaker 1: beverage station, isn't it.
- 10:17Speaker 2: Yeah, Having that kind of separate area I think is
- 10:19Speaker 2: important to keep the flow going, you know, having the
- 10:24Speaker 2: beverages with the ice and the glasses all and kind
- 10:27Speaker 2: of one spot. I prefer like having it after the
- 10:31Speaker 2: food so people can maybe set down their their plates
- 10:35Speaker 2: and then go grab the the beverages. But yeah, just
- 10:38Speaker 2: make sure that you're not making the alcohol accessible to
- 10:41Speaker 2: the younger ones.
- 10:42Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, keeping that stuff and the yeah, I exactly
- 10:46Speaker 1: clearly separate and go it's it's, it's it is. Can
- 10:50Speaker 1: be like one of those things where I gotta be
- 10:51Speaker 1: really careful because some of these and even as as
- 10:54Speaker 1: an adult, sometimes I look at some of these energy
- 10:56Speaker 1: drinks and other things or or beverages and they all
- 10:59Speaker 1: look the same and you're like, you got to really
- 11:01Speaker 1: read them closely to make sure that they're that they
- 11:03Speaker 1: are either grown up or not that you should be
- 11:05Speaker 1: giving children energy drinks anyway.
- 11:07Speaker 2: But well, some of the energy drinks look just like
- 11:08Speaker 2: Seltzer is alcoholic Seltzer.
- 11:10Speaker 1: Yeah, it's interesting and vice versa for sure. And we're
- 11:12Speaker 1: going to talk about some of the other things to
- 11:14Speaker 1: get your house ready for the holidays. So we talk
- 11:16Speaker 1: with Matt this morning. I hope you get a chance
- 11:18Speaker 1: to head on over to Rock Wisconsin dot com. That's

- 11:44Speaker 1: fresh start in the new year.
- 11:45Speaker 2: Yeah, we have a a few spots open now that
- 11:48Speaker 2: we're looking to build the team some more. We've got
- 11:52Speaker 2: around thirty five agents at the moment, but we're looking

- 12:57Speaker 1: perused any Christmas music? Get the season and are you
- 13:00Speaker 1: still hold Are you one of those hold off until
- 13:02Speaker 1: like Christmas? Even then it's it's full go.
- 13:05Speaker 2: I do try to delay it pretty long, to be honest,
- 13:09Speaker 2: and then I just you know, kind of depend on
- 13:10Speaker 2: Spotify or Pandora, yeah, or the iHeart Radio app or
- 13:14Speaker 2: I mean that's iHeart radio app is actually my number
- 13:17Speaker 2: one go to.
- 13:18Speaker 1: Yes, I'll speak of the iHeart Radio app. Folks who
- 13:21Speaker 1: may not know this, you have really cool. One of
- 13:25Speaker 1: the cool features of what you guys are doing right
- 13:27Speaker 1: now is listings on online and audio listing streaming for
- 13:32Speaker 1: folks that have a chance to be listening. And what
- 13:35Speaker 1: a cool thing that is too. So you know, you're
- 13:37Speaker 1: at the gym and you're thinking, okay, one more, one more,
- 13:40Speaker 1: you get ten more minutes left on the on the
- 13:42Speaker 1: stair climber, and then you get a little little, a
- 13:44Speaker 1: little jolt to get to hear about.
- 13:46Speaker 2: Some Oh no, it's it's hard to sometimes reach people
- 13:50Speaker 2: that aren't already shopping for a house, right, and so
- 13:53Speaker 2: we thought that utilizing the iHeart network and actually advertising
- 13:58Speaker 2: some of our listings as kind of audio ads and
- 14:00Speaker 2: streaming audio ads would do that would get in front
- 14:02Speaker 2: of people that didn't even know they wanted to buy,
- 14:04Speaker 2: and then all of a sudden they hear about a
- 14:06Speaker 2: listing and they went they go.
- 14:08Speaker 1: Out and look at it. So one of the things
- 14:09Speaker 1: that I think sometimes we take for granted here in
- 14:11Speaker 1: Wisconsin are and it sounds cliche, but you get all
- 14:14Speaker 1: four seasons. We forget that there are people that don't
- 14:17Speaker 1: experience what we experience, and like you think about like
- 14:20Speaker 1: reach and reaching people from theres the idea of snow,
- 14:24Speaker 1: I think most of us native Wisconsin is like I
- 14:26Speaker 1: got a shovel. Now, if you come from even even
- 14:29Speaker 1: you know, northern or southern Illinois and down, you would
- 14:33Speaker 1: love to have a white Christmas. What a great benefit
- 14:37Speaker 1: that is.
- 14:37Speaker 2: So yeah, we sometimes consider it a blessing when we
- 14:39Speaker 2: don't have a white Christmas, but just because we know
- 14:42Speaker 2: we have a lot ahead of us.
- 14:43Speaker 1: Yes, yes, it's a lot of work, ad and a
- 14:45Speaker 1: lot of cold, cold days. And you know, one of
- 14:47Speaker 1: the cool things about owning a home is of course
- 14:50Speaker 1: I get all. I will tell you I remember when
- 14:51Speaker 1: I got our first house. The cool toys that's always fun.
- 14:55Speaker 1: The first time you fire up the snowblower's fun. Oh yeah,
- 14:57Speaker 1: the thousandth time a little less fun. It is something enjoyable.
- 15:02Speaker 1: Speaking of getting your house ready, you want to really
- 15:04Speaker 1: prepare for guests, don't you. With that Thanksgiving get together?
- 15:07Speaker 2: Yeah, a lot of times when people are coming in
- 15:09Speaker 2: for the holiday is there's a good chance they may
- 15:11Speaker 2: stay overnight. So you know, a good thing to do
- 15:14Speaker 2: is just make sure that your guest accommodations are ready.
- 15:17Speaker 2: That you know, all the sheets are cleaned and you've
- 15:20Speaker 2: maybe washed those comforters for that one time per year,
- 15:25Speaker 2: throw blankets and such. You know, another thing for just
- 15:28Speaker 2: accommodating guests in general is just making sure you have
- 15:30Speaker 2: enough seating for everybody. Got your folding tables out there,
- 15:33Speaker 2: and you've you know, found where you hit all those
- 15:35Speaker 2: folding chairs. And one thing that you know, one tip
- 15:39Speaker 2: that that we've we've been doing is you can actually
- 15:42Speaker 2: find these kind of temporary rolling hangar racks. And so
- 15:47Speaker 2: it's always hard to get people to actually throw their
- 15:49Speaker 2: coats in the in the front hall closet. It seems
- 15:52Speaker 2: to always wear them in and then throw them on
- 15:53Speaker 2: the couch. So we we put ours like right out
- 15:56Speaker 2: in the entrance way with with some you know, plastic
- 15:59Speaker 2: hangers on there and kind of give give them that
- 16:01Speaker 2: reminder to hang that up right away.
- 16:03Speaker 1: Yeah, that's that's a great idea. And uh, you know
- 16:06Speaker 1: you mentioned too about making uh space for out of
- 16:09Speaker 1: town guests. Maybe we have a rule at our house
- 16:11Speaker 1: comfortable but not too comfortable, you know what I'm saying,
- 16:14Speaker 1: like like we want you to be comfortable if it
- 16:17Speaker 1: means you're gonna stay for one, you know, we love
- 16:20Speaker 1: don't pass out after the turkey. Yeah, exactly exactly. Talking
- 16:24Speaker 1: this morning with Matt Iman of Rock Realty Online Rock
- 16:27Speaker 1: Wisconsin dot com. That's r O c K Wisconsin dot com.
- 16:32Speaker 1: And uh, things to keep in mind too is stock
- 16:35Speaker 1: up on you know, and not to be crude on this,
- 16:38Speaker 1: but stock up on any things like bathrooms. These are
- 16:40Speaker 1: you're seeing an influx I think for anybody that's maybe
- 16:43Speaker 1: worked in retail or maybe it's like a bartender or something.
- 16:47Speaker 1: You know, when you get influx of people, you got
- 16:49Speaker 1: to be prepared on a number of aspects. You mentioned
- 16:50Speaker 1: of course having the seating and you know, betting of
- 16:53Speaker 1: your but some of those like soaps and stuff and
- 16:56Speaker 1: make sure you got that stuff. Napkins, Yeah, plenty of napkins.
- 17:00Speaker 1: Plenty of napkins. A good day to make a shop
- 17:03Speaker 1: co run. And of course, look look while you're doing
- 17:06Speaker 1: that stuff, check out online rock wiscons dot com look
- 17:09Speaker 1: at some houses and that's and Matt, I one of
- 17:11Speaker 1: the things I really enjoy, and I think I've said
- 17:13Speaker 1: this to you before, is you go to the website
- 17:16Speaker 1: and you've got obviously some listings on the front page,
- 17:19Speaker 1: main page of the website, but then you kind of
- 17:23Speaker 1: go down this rabbit hole. You start clicking things and
- 17:25Speaker 1: before you know it, you've looked at dozens of homes
- 17:28Speaker 1: and you get you get ideas. It is something that's
- 17:30Speaker 1: really to me. It's very exciting to see of you know,
- 17:33Speaker 1: different styles of homes and different different areas, and to me,
- 17:37Speaker 1: it's a lot of fun to head on over to
- 17:38Speaker 1: rock Wisconsin dot com. It's r O c K wiscons
- 17:40Speaker 1: dot com. Do some cruising again, even if you're not
- 17:42Speaker 1: looking to buy and then look into sell anything. It's
- 17:44Speaker 1: just a fun thing to do. Matt. One of the
- 17:47Speaker 1: things that I do always envy is when I see
- 17:50Speaker 1: some of these houses, is some of these places with
- 17:52Speaker 1: these updated very modern kitchens with like god like islands
- 17:57Speaker 1: and they've got all this space, and I think how
- 17:59Speaker 1: nice that must be to be preparing food in that area.
- 18:02Speaker 1: Having a timeline, even if you've got a small kitchen,
- 18:05Speaker 1: having a timeline for turkeys and everything else. You want
- 18:08Speaker 1: to make sure you're sticking to that, don't you.
- 18:10Speaker 2: Yeah, I'd say that's one of the more important things
- 18:12Speaker 2: because you can have everything prepped properly, but if the
- 18:16Speaker 2: food isn't out and people aren't eating, it was kind
- 18:19Speaker 2: of a failure. So yeah, I have a cooking timeline.
- 18:23Speaker 2: You know what's going to take the longest, what should
- 18:24Speaker 2: start first? You know, you know at what point should
- 18:28Speaker 2: you put in the croissant rolls or whatever you're going
- 18:31Speaker 2: to make the biscuits, right. So, yeah, that's something that
- 18:34Speaker 2: I'm not good at, but it's definitely something to have.
- 18:37Speaker 1: Do you have Do you have, like, is there like
- 18:39Speaker 1: one thing that you are responsible for food wise on
- 18:42Speaker 1: on the holidays.
- 18:43Speaker 2: I'm more of the prep around Okay, the actual food. Yeah,
- 18:48Speaker 2: my wife does quite well at uh doing the cooking
- 18:52Speaker 2: and the prepping and knowing when to do what. I
- 18:54Speaker 2: tend to just delay the process and possibly mess things up.
- 18:57Speaker 2: So yeah, I'm the I'm the bringing out the full
- 19:00Speaker 2: and chairs and the table guy.
- 19:01Speaker 1: So yeah, you're the muscle. Yeah. Everyone needs a labor Yeah,
- 19:07Speaker 1: everybody needs the other thing, probably the food tester as well.
- 19:10Speaker 1: Are you the one that gets called in?
- 19:12Speaker 2: Absolutely, it's an important role I do.
- 19:14Speaker 1: Obviously I will carve the turkey. Yeah that's important. Yeah. Yeah,
- 19:20Speaker 1: you know what would be fun one of these years
- 19:22Speaker 1: is for like, and this is probably perfect for something
- 19:24Speaker 1: you guys can do at Rock Realty is for first
- 19:26Speaker 1: time homeowners their first Thanksgiving submit pictures of their turkey
- 19:30Speaker 1: as they carve them. Because I remember the first year
- 19:33Speaker 1: we hosted and carving the turkey. It wasn't a pretty sight. Yeah,
- 19:39Speaker 1: well it looked. It looked horrible and like my slices
- 19:42Speaker 1: a turkey, like they'd start out like on top, nice
- 19:45Speaker 1: and thin, but I like didn't. I hadn't mastered yet
- 19:47Speaker 1: the art of carving, so like the line like they were,
- 19:50Speaker 1: it looked like wedge pieces of turkey. So that might
- 19:54Speaker 1: be fun just to see how how full they gotta
- 19:56Speaker 1: have a sharp knife, yes, off a sharp yeah, exactly,
- 19:59Speaker 1: in a steady, steady hand and you can get a
- 20:01Speaker 1: good division on that stuff. And finally, of course, overall
- 20:05Speaker 1: this is I think, aside from the meal and time
- 20:08Speaker 1: with family, you want to make it comfortable, don't you.
- 20:10Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I mean kind of a simple one, but
- 20:13Speaker 2: maybe throwing some candles, dim the lights, and like you
- 20:16Speaker 2: had mentioned before, get a good playlist of music to.
- 20:19Speaker 1: Set the mood. That's important stuff. Of course, you've missed
