- 0:25Speaker 1: Sports Radio ninety two five. Yes, it is Jeff Legwell.
- 0:31Speaker 1: Time here on a Monday after noon, joins us on
- 0:34Speaker 1: the Ramos Law Hotline. Car accident. You need Ramos Law

- 0:42Speaker 1: start right here. The news that ESPN is uh right
- 0:47Speaker 1: now has on their bottom line in red. Justin Tucker
- 0:50Speaker 1: released by the Baltimore Ravens. Here's my question, Leggy, was
- 0:56Speaker 1: Justin Tucker released because he was accused of misconduct by
- 1:01Speaker 1: sixteen massage therapists at eight different spas. Or was Justin
- 1:06Speaker 1: Tucker released because he made seventy three percent of his
- 1:09Speaker 1: field goals last year?
- 1:12Speaker 2: Probably all of the above in some fashion.
- 1:15Speaker 3: I think a lot of people who've worked in the
- 1:17Speaker 3: league will tell you. You know, leniency is often paired with
- 1:24Speaker 3: performance on the field. So you know, I can't certainly
- 1:32Speaker 3: know what the case will bring or what the NFL
- 1:34Speaker 3: investigation will reveal. I do know the NFL is still investigating,
- 1:40Speaker 3: and the Ravens had said publicly before that they were
- 1:43Speaker 3: not going to make a move on Justin Tucker as
- 1:47Speaker 3: far as the football team was concerned, until the NFL's
- 1:50Speaker 3: investigation was complete. So that either means the NFL has
- 1:56Speaker 3: given the Ravens the results of this investigation it's not
- 2:01Speaker 3: public yet, or the Ravens just decided to change their minds,
- 2:06Speaker 3: or they have other information, uh, to make that decision.
- 2:09Speaker 2: They you know again, they yeah, no.
- 2:14Speaker 3: When the minute they drafted a kicker, I think eyebrows
- 2:17Speaker 3: went up, you know, or raised around the league wondering, Okay,
- 2:20Speaker 3: what's that?
- 2:21Speaker 2: What's that mean?
- 2:22Speaker 4: Uh?
- 2:24Speaker 3: You know, I know, for you know, all involved, it's
- 2:27Speaker 3: probably a really difficult situation to deal with right now.
- 2:30Speaker 3: But you know, again, I you know, until I think
- 2:35Speaker 3: the NFL announces, or they may not announce that, they
- 2:38Speaker 3: may just tell the team and Justin Tucker and in
- 2:41Speaker 3: the union what the results are. But I gotta believe
- 2:45Speaker 3: it will be announced at some point, But it is
- 2:47Speaker 3: that you know, he had, he had a Hall of
- 2:50Speaker 3: Fame caliber career for a kicker. If he doesn't play
- 2:54Speaker 3: in another game, it's just, you know, all of these
- 2:58Speaker 3: off the field things that have come to light that were,
- 3:02Speaker 3: you know, early in his football career, I think is
- 3:08Speaker 3: an intriguing, difficult story.
- 3:11Speaker 2: For all involved, for a very prominent player.
- 3:14Speaker 4: All right, Lakey, where are we at with the Broncos schedule?
- 3:16Speaker 4: It feels like we should have had a couple practices
- 3:19Speaker 4: or a camp. I know we've got the rookie camp
- 3:20Speaker 4: coming up this week? Is that right? What does the
- 3:22Speaker 4: schedule look.
- 3:23Speaker 2: Like right now?
- 3:24Speaker 3: The rookie mini camp scheduled to be Friday, Saturday, and
- 3:28Speaker 3: Mother's Day, So we'll see what the schedule holds. Those
- 3:31Speaker 3: will be pretty if the past, if his history holds true,
- 3:36Speaker 3: those will be pretty light on field orientation type workouts.
- 3:42Speaker 3: They're not looking to get anybody too revved up in
- 3:45Speaker 3: all of this.
- 3:46Speaker 2: And you know the.
- 3:48Speaker 3: Reason you haven't seen in comparison to some other teams
- 3:52Speaker 3: is Sean Payton. His one of his strength and conditioning
- 3:57Speaker 3: philosophies is that they stay in what they called Phase
- 4:00Speaker 3: one of this, which is strictly CONDI mostly predominantly conditioning
- 4:06Speaker 3: longer than a lot of other teams, probably two thirds
- 4:11Speaker 3: more than two thirds of the other teams, and they'll
- 4:14Speaker 3: just have two OTAs instead of three. So a lot
- 4:20Speaker 3: of years you would have seen a rookie mini camp
- 4:22Speaker 3: and then an OTA really quickly right after that. But
- 4:26Speaker 3: that's not how he doesn't. He stays in the conditioning
- 4:28Speaker 3: phase longer. So there being OTA the last week of
- 4:33Speaker 3: May and the first week of June, and then the
- 4:37Speaker 3: mandatory mini camp the second week of June.
- 4:39Speaker 1: Bills. As though the Broncos injury luck was better, certainly
- 4:44Speaker 1: last year they had fewer man games missed during the season.
- 4:48Speaker 1: How much of that should be credited to Sean Payton
- 4:51Speaker 1: and his strength and conditioning staff and a sports signed
- 4:54Speaker 1: staff and their approach.
- 4:57Speaker 2: Probably some.
- 4:57Speaker 3: I mean, it's hard to ignore a very drastic improvement
- 5:02Speaker 3: in the numbers that you know, the Broncos were one
- 5:04Speaker 3: of the leaders in the league and missed games and
- 5:08Speaker 3: multiple seasons.
- 5:11Speaker 2: You know before he got here, So some of that.
- 5:14Speaker 3: But you know my experience and this has has shown
- 5:18Speaker 3: through the years, there there is a significant.
- 5:20Speaker 2: Element of luck involved.
- 5:22Speaker 3: I'm not sure you can prevent an ACL from occurring
- 5:26Speaker 3: if a guy steps improperly or somebody falls on his knee.
- 5:32Speaker 3: I mean they've they've not had those linemen caves in
- 5:36Speaker 3: on another player's leg injuries like as many times as
- 5:42Speaker 3: some previous Bronco teams have had. So I think it's
- 5:46Speaker 3: probably a little everything. You know, what they're doing is working.
- 5:50Speaker 3: I think a lot of their philosophy of what they're
- 5:52Speaker 3: doing is based on getting as attendance as high as possible.
- 5:57Speaker 3: I think he's tried to convey to them, we prefer
- 6:00Speaker 3: you'd work out here, and this is why. And I
- 6:04Speaker 3: think he uses the injury numbers as as an example
- 6:07Speaker 3: of why they should come and work out with the team,
- 6:11Speaker 3: when when it is voluntary.
- 6:13Speaker 2: Deep down.
- 6:16Speaker 4: A report linking well maybe not linking, but predicting that
- 6:20Speaker 4: the Broncos could be players for Nick Chubb, the former
- 6:23Speaker 4: Cleveland running back whose last couple of years has just
- 6:25Speaker 4: been beset by injury. Would that makes sense to you
- 6:28Speaker 4: or do you just think that's you know, you always
- 6:30Speaker 4: warn this Leggy that Broncos are a popular team and
- 6:33Speaker 4: sometimes they're they're linked in articles because it helps get clicks.
- 6:37Speaker 4: Do you think the Broncos would have any legit interest
- 6:40Speaker 4: in Nick Chubb.
- 6:41Speaker 3: Well, if I'm an agent, I'm always gonna mention the
- 6:44Speaker 3: team with the richest donors. So I think that's a
- 6:46Speaker 3: lot of what happens these days. Mike Shanahan used to
- 6:50Speaker 3: argue that the Broncos were always rumored to be interested
- 6:54Speaker 3: in everybody because they paid. So I think that some
- 6:58Speaker 3: of that. I mean, they will take a look at anybody.
- 7:01Speaker 3: I mean I already have a difficult time dividing up
- 7:05Speaker 3: the carries, you know, as it stands right now, and
- 7:09Speaker 3: to add another player, uh, you know, of that caliber, experience.
- 7:15Speaker 3: You know, I'm just not sure the fit. But yeah,
- 7:19Speaker 3: they'll look at everybody. I would caution that, you know,
- 7:24Speaker 3: around the draft that the head coach said he didn't
- 7:27Speaker 3: think very much of the veteran running backs who were available.
- 7:30Speaker 2: Well, there you go, there it is.
- 7:32Speaker 4: That's pretty that's pretty cut and draft.
- 7:34Speaker 1: Yeah, we're we're good to go on all of that.
- 7:36Speaker 1: Jeff Legwald everybody from ESPN, he's got a rookie mini
- 7:40Speaker 1: camp to go and cover this weekend. Hopefully no Jeff
- 7:42Speaker 1: Hireman situations going down for the Broncos. Leggy would like
- 7:47Speaker 1: a nice boring rookie mini camp to go and cover.
- 7:51Speaker 1: That's what he would appreciate. He just wants to watch
- 7:53Speaker 1: hoops leggy good stuff as always.
- 7:55Speaker 2: Man, Thanks, thanks be, We'll say it
