- 4:44Jennifer Davis: So Dan, you are in the hot seat, and I've got a question for you.
- 4:49Dan Schulz: Happy to be here, Try to stump me with your trivia question.
- 4:53Jennifer Davis: Kirkland was supposed to be the Pittsburgh of the West.
- 4:57Jennifer Davis: What was going to be built there...
- 4:59Jennifer Davis: that never happened?
- 5:01Jennifer Davis: was it A, a car factory, B, a steel mill, C, a shipyard, or D, Amazon's first warehouse?
- 5:11Jennifer Davis: And your time starts now
- 5:15Dan Schulz: Finally, I am 100%, 100% sure it is a steel mill, 100%.
- 5:24Dan Schulz: I don't even have to think about it.
- 5:26Dan Schulz: I find I am better when I don't think.
- 5:28Dan Schulz: Steel mill, final answer
- 5:34Jennifer Davis: Well, You are correct on this one, British steel tycoon Peter Kirk came to the East Side in the 1880s planning to build a massive steel mill.
- 5:44Jennifer Davis: They built the whole thing, including the foundry and rail connectors, but the panic of 1893 shut it all down before it ever produced a single piece of steel.
- 5:54Jennifer Davis: Kirk eventually left the area, but the town kept its name anyway.
- 6:08Dan Schulz: So here is a hot rumor we've been hearing lately.
- 6:11Dan Schulz: There is talk of a functional beverage bar that might be coming to the Cleveland Street corridor.
- 6:17Dan Schulz: Now, what we don't know yet is who is behind it or if a lease is officially signed or any of that stuff.
- 6:23Dan Schulz: But I, do you even know what a functional beverage bar might be, Jennifer?
- 6:27Dan Schulz: Because I've got news.
- 6:28Dan Schulz: I don't even, I've never heard of this before
- 6:30Jennifer Davis: a functional beverage bar?
- 6:32Jennifer Davis: Is that a bar that functions and can
- 6:35Dan Schulz: Yeah, they got faucets, running water, ice machine, the whole thing, Jennifer.
- 6:39Dan Schulz: That's what I would assume.
- 6:41Dan Schulz: No, so it's not that.
- 6:42Dan Schulz: I mean, I'm sure they do have running water, But it even goes deeper, Jennifer.
- 6:46Dan Schulz: Apparently, it's all these drinks built around things to, like, basically, I don't know, I wanna say get you high, but give you an altered experience of what's going on legally, of course, Jennifer.
- 6:58Dan Schulz: You got your nootropics, your mushroom coffee, your CBD, that kind of stuff.
- 7:02Dan Schulz: What do you think about that?
- 7:04Dan Schulz: So no alcohol, no sugar crash.
- 7:07Dan Schulz: They still make it sound, healthy though.
- 7:09Dan Schulz: No alcohol, no sugar crash.
- 7:11Dan Schulz: You're just gonna get, zoned out of your head on, this stuff.
- 7:14Dan Schulz: So the question is, do you think this would work in Redmond?
