- 0:03Speaker 1: Celebrating life's little victories. Victory every morning we practice gratitude
- 0:08Speaker 1: on Big ninety eight point seven.
- 0:10Speaker 2: If I could, I would keep this feeling in a
- 0:12Speaker 2: basket job busted out when it was someone's acting hard.
- 0:16Speaker 2: I just really needed to win, you.
- 0:17Speaker 1: Know, sure your little victories with us at seven oh
- 0:20Speaker 1: one two eight one eight seven.
- 0:23Speaker 3: All right, Atie, tell us all about your trip and
- 0:26Speaker 3: your thirst traps?
- 0:28Speaker 2: Sol are you.
- 0:30Speaker 4: I know I'm the worst?
- 0:32Speaker 2: Or am I the best?
- 0:33Speaker 4: So the little victory, you know, is that I went
- 0:36Speaker 4: on this big family trip. My nieces graduated high school,
- 0:41Speaker 4: so I went to you know, see them graduate to
- 0:44Speaker 4: celebrate them. Then we also did a little grad trip
- 0:47Speaker 4: for my niece at Zion and we hiked the Narrows
- 0:51Speaker 4: as a family and that was really fun.
- 0:54Speaker 2: But then they're not safe for work part. But I'm
- 0:59Speaker 2: gonna tell you well, literally at.
- 1:00Speaker 4: Work, I posted a thirst trap on my Instagram for
- 1:05Speaker 4: the first time ever. Arguably, maybe other things have been
- 1:09Speaker 4: considered thirst traps that I've posted.
- 1:11Speaker 2: I don't know, are they were more just like chers? Maybe?
- 1:14Speaker 2: But I was so intentional.
- 1:20Speaker 4: I was so intentional because we were going to the
- 1:22Speaker 4: pool and I wore a bathing suit for the first
- 1:27Speaker 4: time in over twenty years.
- 1:31Speaker 2: Wow.
- 1:32Speaker 4: So it's not that I've never gone swimming before, but
- 1:34Speaker 4: because I used to have these sad, droopy, swingy, hangy
- 1:37Speaker 4: skin pendulum boobies, I would never wear a regular bathing
- 1:41Speaker 4: suit because there wasn't one that fit me properly. So
- 1:44Speaker 4: it was always like you'd have to wear like two
- 1:45Speaker 4: It would be like, yes, like a regular bra and
- 1:48Speaker 4: then a sports bra and then a tank top and
- 1:52Speaker 4: it would all just kind of be like whatever moisture
- 1:54Speaker 4: wicking things, so it was kind of like a bathing suit,
- 1:56Speaker 4: you know whatever. And so finally, because I got to
- 1:59Speaker 4: just put on a bathing suit, I thought, well, I
- 2:03Speaker 4: gotta document.
- 2:04Speaker 2: This on the gram.
- 2:05Speaker 5: Wow.
- 2:05Speaker 4: And I took a bunch of pictures and Mikey helped
- 2:09Speaker 4: me find a lie. What I love is that Mikey's like, yeah,
- 2:11Speaker 4: post that thirst trap after I taught him what a
- 2:14Speaker 4: thirst chop was and he helped me narrow down the
- 2:17Speaker 4: pictures and I posted them on my Instagram, and I
- 2:21Speaker 4: just love the outpouring of support from all my girlies
- 2:26Speaker 4: who know the struggle, who knew my struggle, and like,
- 2:30Speaker 4: those are the comments I care about. Obviously there's always
- 2:34Speaker 4: like I mean, I know what a thirst chrap is.
- 2:36Speaker 4: So there's always some creepers that comment weird things, but
- 2:39Speaker 4: I ignore those.
- 2:40Speaker 2: I go on Instagram to flirt with the girls.
- 2:42Speaker 4: Okay, right, but yeah, So it was very exciting to
- 2:45Speaker 4: wear a bathing suit for the first time in twenty
- 2:47Speaker 4: plus years, and I looked pretty good. But I did
- 2:51Speaker 4: not put it on Biggs Instagram because I didn't want
- 2:53Speaker 4: to get in trouble by hr.
- 2:56Speaker 2: Well, good for you. That was probably a fantastic choice.
- 2:58Speaker 3: And now, Angie, my little victory obviously it is that
- 3:02Speaker 3: you are back in the studio. Okay, that's a little victory. A.
- 3:06Speaker 3: But we have got a little victory. Well that was
- 3:09Speaker 3: a little victory. Excuse me one A, we have a
- 3:11Speaker 3: little victory. One B.
- 3:13Speaker 2: I cannot wait to tell you at eight forty one.
- 3:16Speaker 4: You're gonna make me wait, yes, until the end of
- 3:20Speaker 4: the show.
- 3:20Speaker 3: And if you have been following along with anything that
- 3:24Speaker 3: has gone down in the I don't know, last eight
- 3:26Speaker 3: or so months, I cannot wait to share this with
- 3:30Speaker 3: you at eight forty one. And I am pumping some
- 3:32Speaker 3: tires on this and it is not that cool, okay,
- 3:35Speaker 3: but for me for me, this was fabulous.
- 3:40Speaker 2: Okay, So my how you are. I'm like, I'm holding
- 3:47Speaker 2: my breath. I'm ready.
- 3:48Speaker 3: All right, Well, we'll have that way later on this
- 3:50Speaker 3: morning at eight forty one.
- 3:52Speaker 2: But I just cannot believe it finally happened. All right,
- 3:56Speaker 2: We will tell you about that later on.
- 4:00Speaker 3: Today's variety, Big ninety eight point seven. It's Gabe, it's Angie.
- 4:03Speaker 3: We've got some sunshine today and a high of eighty six.
- 4:13Speaker 3: This is one of the cooler things that will happen
- 4:15Speaker 3: to me in twenty twenty six.
- 4:16Speaker 2: I'll put it in the top thirteen. Okay, what is it?
- 4:19Speaker 4: Because you've made me weigh on pins and needles the
- 4:22Speaker 4: entire show.
- 4:23Speaker 3: So you, Angie, and you hanging out with us here
- 4:27Speaker 3: on Big ninety eight point seven have likely gone on
- 4:30Speaker 3: this journey of my wife being pregnant with me for
- 4:33Speaker 3: the past handful of well nine ish eight eightish months here. Yeah,
- 4:38Speaker 3: and I have described about going to these baby appointments
- 4:43Speaker 3: with my wife. All right, I walk on into the hospital,
- 4:47Speaker 3: I sit down with my wife and we go on
- 4:49Speaker 3: into the room and they do what they gotta do.
- 4:51Speaker 3: They do the checks, We listen to heartbeats, and it's
- 4:53Speaker 3: all a grand old time. However, our doctor, who is
- 4:58Speaker 3: a very very good doctor, she's incredible.
- 5:02Speaker 4: Mm hmmm.
- 5:03Speaker 3: I have been trying to get this woman to crack
- 5:07Speaker 3: a laugh for eight months.
- 5:10Speaker 2: Yes I know, I mean gives me great joy that
- 5:14Speaker 2: she is not amused. Well, it finally happened yesterday.
- 5:19Speaker 4: I got her.
- 5:23Speaker 5: For me.
- 5:25Speaker 2: Yeah, this lady. Wow, she tried everything.
- 5:31Speaker 3: She's a very sweet lady, you know she but she
- 5:34Speaker 3: just really doesn't find me very humorous. And yesterday I
- 5:40Speaker 3: finally got this woman to laugh and I got let
- 5:44Speaker 3: me tell you this first, we have gone to baby expos.
- 5:48Speaker 3: Corey and I multiple more than one with individuals who
- 5:52Speaker 3: know this lady and I always joke about I'm going
- 5:54Speaker 3: to try to make her laugh. And there have been
- 5:57Speaker 3: people who work at these expos who go, oh my god,
- 6:00Speaker 3: if you could do that, that would be hilarious.
- 6:02Speaker 4: Oh so she kind of has anybody. Yeah that she's nice,
- 6:06Speaker 4: but like she's just not a jokester, like just not
- 6:08Speaker 4: into that vibe.
- 6:09Speaker 3: Okay, we've heard you know, when you are in the
- 6:12Speaker 3: heat of it, all right, a stressful situation, this is
- 6:15Speaker 3: the lady you want. Okay, she gets down to business
- 6:18Speaker 3: and handles it.
- 6:19Speaker 2: Okay, I love that, but not.
- 6:22Speaker 3: Really a big, happy, laughy kind of lady, which is yeah,
- 6:26Speaker 3: perfectly fine. You know, she's in there trying to help
- 6:28Speaker 3: people who are pregnant and things like that.
- 6:30Speaker 2: So I get it.
- 6:31Speaker 3: But I got her yesterday as we were getting ready
- 6:34Speaker 3: to leave the appointment, you know, because when I'm in there,
- 6:37Speaker 3: it's like I don't It's really like I don't exist fair,
- 6:39Speaker 3: which is fair.
- 6:40Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 6:40Speaker 3: So I just kind of sit there and, you know,
- 6:42Speaker 3: help Corey get on the thing and then sit down
- 6:44Speaker 3: and listen to heartbeating, YadA, YadA, YadA.
- 6:46Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 6:47Speaker 3: And as we're leaving, Corey just had some questions about
- 6:49Speaker 3: upcoming appointments, and you know, she's basically talking directly to Corey.
- 6:54Speaker 3: So we get up and we're getting ready to leave,
- 6:56Speaker 3: and she was like, oh, do you have any questions?
- 6:58Speaker 3: And I was like, no, no one really asked me
- 6:59Speaker 3: any thing about this. And she was like, well, fair enough.
- 7:02Speaker 3: And I was like, yeah, I'm just the decorator at
- 7:05Speaker 3: the house and just the construction man and the carpenter
- 7:08Speaker 3: and YadA YadA YadA, and she goes, well, that is
- 7:11Speaker 3: your job, and I was like, yeah, except a lot
- 7:13Speaker 3: of these babes.
- 7:14Speaker 2: This wasn't even a joke. That's the worst part.
- 7:18Speaker 3: I was like, yeah, except why do the baby things
- 7:21Speaker 3: that you have to build come with the world's worst instructions?
- 7:25Speaker 3: And she started laughing at that because I think she
- 7:28Speaker 3: understood these baby things that you have to put together, yeah,
- 7:31Speaker 3: have the worst instructions. And that is what got her
- 7:36Speaker 3: me struggling to like build baby things.
- 7:39Speaker 2: Oh now when.
- 7:40Speaker 4: You put it in that phrasey, she was laughing at
- 7:43Speaker 4: you struggling.
- 7:44Speaker 2: I like it. I like it a lot, but you
- 7:47Speaker 2: like it so much I got her.
- 7:49Speaker 3: It took me eight months and it finally happened. And
- 7:53Speaker 3: now you know, Angie knows. My wife witnessed it, and
- 7:57Speaker 3: I am telling everybody everywhere.
- 7:59Speaker 2: I go for the rest of time. You know what
- 8:02Speaker 2: they say, a win is a win. That's right.
- 8:07Speaker 1: In the world of rules in gray Areas, one morning
- 8:09Speaker 1: show dares to ask the hard questions.
- 8:11Speaker 2: We both know you're guilty, he's guilty. Is it legal?
- 8:15Speaker 5: You're guilty of the worst crime of all?
- 8:18Speaker 2: On Big ninety eight point seven.
- 8:22Speaker 3: I'm learning a lot about child laws, Angie, as you should.
- 8:26Speaker 2: You're about to have a child.
- 8:28Speaker 3: That's right, you know, child car seat loss, child booster laws,
- 8:32Speaker 3: child labor laws like how much work can I get
- 8:35Speaker 3: baby tree to get done? No? Yeah, is it legal
- 8:39Speaker 3: to make your kid ride in a booster seat even
- 8:41Speaker 3: though they're trying to tell you they are basically an adult?
- 8:44Speaker 2: Well?
- 8:45Speaker 3: In fact, yes, In North Dakota, kids have to ride
- 8:49Speaker 3: in a car seat or booster seat until they're eight
- 8:52Speaker 3: years old or reach the height of four foot nine,
- 8:56Speaker 3: whichever one comes first. So if you're seven year old,
- 8:59Speaker 3: is negotiaiating like a lawyer and reminding you.
- 9:02Speaker 2: That they're practically grown up?
- 9:04Speaker 3: The law completely disagrees, and if they're still under four
- 9:07Speaker 3: foot nine, they may have to keep writing that booster
- 9:10Speaker 3: seat a little longer.
- 9:11Speaker 1: You know.
- 9:12Speaker 3: Sorry, kid, turns out being able to beat dad at
- 9:14Speaker 3: video games doesn't count toward the height requirement.
- 9:17Speaker 4: I'm really not aware Liam is nine, but he's not tall.
- 9:24Speaker 2: How tall is this kid? I need to breaking the law.
- 9:29Speaker 3: The good news is it's all about safety, Okay. The
- 9:33Speaker 3: booster helps the seat belt fit properly and it keeps
- 9:36Speaker 3: kids better protected in a crash. So is it legal
- 9:39Speaker 3: for your child to demand shotgun privileges while still needing
- 9:43Speaker 3: a booster seat?
- 9:44Speaker 2: Absolutely? Not well, they can demand it.
- 9:46Speaker 3: Whether they get it is a completely different legal question.
- 9:50Speaker 2: Very interesting.
- 9:50Speaker 3: I've learned a lot about car seats and booster seats
- 9:53Speaker 3: in the past twenty four hours.
- 9:54Speaker 4: I feel like when I had Well, I fear one
- 9:58Speaker 4: of them is still in boosters eat age. But with Aiden,
- 10:02Speaker 4: I really didn't know anything, and so he was not
- 10:06Speaker 4: in a booster far sooner than I think he was
- 10:08Speaker 4: supposed to.
- 10:09Speaker 3: You hear my mom and dad talk and they were like,
- 10:12Speaker 3: I was riding in the back of the station wagon
- 10:15Speaker 3: reading a book in the sun with no seat belt on.
- 10:18Speaker 2: You know, that's how they are rolling around the back. Yeah,
- 10:20Speaker 2: that's how it was back in the day.
- 10:21Speaker 3: Back in the day, I sat on a couple of
- 10:23Speaker 3: phone books with a seat belt.
- 10:25Speaker 4: If you go back and watch the very first Toy
- 10:28Speaker 4: story when they're pulling up to the gas station before
- 10:31Speaker 4: they get to Pizza Planet, you see that the baby
- 10:35Speaker 4: Molly is strapped into her car seat in the front seat.
- 10:40Speaker 3: Yes, might have to go check out that scene.
- 10:48Speaker 1: Starting off the day with something good, This is Gabe's
- 10:52Speaker 1: good News on Big ninety eight point seven.
- 10:56Speaker 3: A West Fargo mom is proving that determination can overcome
- 11:01Speaker 3: even life's toughest challenges. Three years ago, Meghan Shields she
- 11:05Speaker 3: suffered a devastating stroke while home alone with her three
- 11:08Speaker 3: young children, and after spending more than two weeks in
- 11:11Speaker 3: the hospital before she could speak again, Meghan began the
- 11:14Speaker 3: long road to recovery through physical, occupational, and speech therapy. Today,
- 11:20Speaker 3: she is celebrating victories both big and small, including something
- 11:24Speaker 3: that many of us might take for granted, and that
- 11:26Speaker 3: is braiding hair. Meghan was one of the first patients
- 11:31Speaker 3: at Sanford Health to receive a specialized implant called vivistim,
- 11:36Speaker 3: which helps stimulate the brain during stroke recovery. Combine that
- 11:40Speaker 3: with years of hard work in therapy, this device has
- 11:42Speaker 3: helped make her helped her make incredible progress. Her husband,
- 11:47Speaker 3: Cody says watching her determination has made him incredibly proud
- 11:51Speaker 3: of her. Obviously, and Meghan also credits a lesson she
- 11:55Speaker 3: learned as a college athlete where it was mentality before reality.
- 12:00Speaker 5: I started to lose feeling in my leg and I
- 12:02Speaker 5: had just well, I had a baby about a year ago,
- 12:05Speaker 5: and I was just thinking like it would go go
- 12:08Speaker 5: away when I woke up and it didn't. And her
- 12:11Speaker 5: work ethic that she put forward really made me proud
- 12:15Speaker 5: on a different level that I hadn't known from her before.
- 12:18Speaker 5: That means you had to put in the work to
- 12:19Speaker 5: get the goods in Fargo, Kirsty.
- 12:22Speaker 3: And to her credit obviously, that really means you know,
- 12:26Speaker 3: put in the work and the results will come. And
- 12:29Speaker 3: a it's a powerful reminder from a wes Fargo mom
- 12:32Speaker 3: showing us all what perseverance looks like.
- 12:35Speaker 2: What a story.
- 12:36Speaker 3: And good for her, you know, that's something that could
- 12:38Speaker 3: easily really derail your life.
- 12:40Speaker 4: I mean, and she was home with her young children
- 12:44Speaker 4: when this.
- 12:44Speaker 2: Happened, yep.
- 12:45Speaker 3: And now she's just going strong, continues to work and
- 12:49Speaker 3: push forward.
- 12:49Speaker 2: And all the credit to her for sure, well done.
- 12:52Speaker 3: You know my favorite quote, if you don't hear it,
- 12:53Speaker 3: is broken crayons, they still color. And the world is
- 12:57Speaker 3: full of nice people. If you can't find one, you
- 12:59Speaker 3: got to be one.
