- 0:00Chapter 4 from the book of Isaiah.
- 0:03Dear God, please let the Holy Spirit give us wisdom and
- 0:08revelation as we read through this chapter.
- 0:11We ask for this in Jesus name. Chapter 4 In that day seven
- 0:16women will take hold of one man and say we will eat our own food
- 0:22and provide our own clothes only.
- 0:25Let us be called by your name. Take away our disgrace?
- 0:29Well, let's read what the study Bible says about this one.
- 0:33So why was being single a disgrace?
- 0:36Most likely these seven women were widows, their husbands
- 0:40having been killed in the invasion.
- 0:43In ancient times, widows were oppressed and treated poorly.
- 0:46However, because these widows claimed to have their own
- 0:50financial resources, their disgrace probably stemmed from
- 0:54being childless. In Hebrew culture, there was
- 0:57perhaps no greater humiliation than that of being a childless
- 1:01woman. These women apparently wanted
- 1:03children to remove their disgrace.
- 1:07Then it continues, the branch of the Lord.
- 1:09In that day, the branch of the Lord will be beautiful and
- 1:14glorious, and the fruit of the land will be the pride and glory
- 1:19of the survivors in Israel. Notice what it says.
- 1:23The survivors in Israel, those who are left in Zion, who remain
- 1:29in Jerusalem will be called holy, holy.
- 1:34Like when has that happened? When there was like captivity
- 1:39that happened or, you know, taking a way of people who were
- 1:46besieged and then the ones who remained were called the holy
- 1:51ones. I don't think there's been a
- 1:54time that that has occurred. I believe these are in the last
- 1:58days. These are the last days when
- 1:59Jesus returns the branch of the Lord.
- 2:02In another prophecy, Jesus is called the branch, The branch
- 2:07that is Jesus in that day, the print, the branch of the Lord
- 2:10will be beautiful and glorious and the fruit of the land will
- 2:13be the pride and glory of the survivors in Israel.
- 2:17So this is a talk. This is talking about when Jesus
- 2:19returns to Jerusalem, to Israel, and then the people who remain
- 2:28who are their survivors, they will be called holy all and it
- 2:33continues, all who are recorded among the living in Jerusalem.
- 2:39The Lord will wash away the filth of the women of Zion.
- 2:44He will cleanse the blood stains from Jerusalem by a spirit of
- 2:51judgment and a spirit of fire. So this this is like I, I think
- 2:58the I've heard it called the time of Jacob's trouble.
- 3:03So this is actually during the IT has to be the wrath of God.
- 3:07I would imagine. I don't know if it would be
- 3:09considered the great tribulation or not, but I, it's, it's during
- 3:14that time frame. I, I, it may be, sounds like
- 3:18possibly the wrath of God. So it's going to be a spirit of
- 3:22judgment. So there will be judgment and a
- 3:24spirit of fire. Fire is usually indicated to
- 3:28refine some someone. It's, you know, a metaphor
- 3:34burning away of the sinful ways and a cleansing of someone.
- 3:38So there's judgment. So there's a separation.
- 3:40And Jesus talked about that. He talked about the separation
- 3:42of the sheep and the goats. When he returns that, you know,
- 3:47he will put the goats to his left and the sheep to his right,
- 3:49and there's going to be a separation of people.
- 3:52And then it says like about the ones who are called holy.
- 3:57It says all who are recorded among the living in Jerusalem.
- 4:02Now, that could just be a record.
- 4:04Yeah, I guess it says recorded among the living.
- 4:07I was thinking about recorded in the Book of Life, but it doesn't
- 4:10say that. It just says recorded in
- 4:11Jerusalem. It says then the Lord will
- 4:15create over all of Mount Zion and over those who assemble
- 4:20there, a cloud of smoke by day and a glow of flaming fire by
- 4:25night. Over everything.
- 4:27The glory will be a canopy. It will be a shelter and shade
- 4:32from the heat of the day and a refuge and hiding place from the
- 4:36storm and rain. This is very much like Exodus.
- 4:42This are when they were leaving Egypt and how they were led
- 4:48exactly in the same way. A glowing flame, it says, a glow
- 4:53of flaming fire by night and smoke by day, because it would
- 4:58like keep the sun off of them, keep them shaded while they were
- 5:03traveling in the wilderness. That's exactly what God did.
- 5:06This is another restoration. Again, these are literal events
- 5:10that also are symbolic of future time.
- 5:13So Exodus was a literal event, but it also was symbolic of the
- 5:17very last days. OK, and that's all there is on
- 5:21chapter 4, and we're only 5 minutes in, so we're going to go
- 5:24on to chapter 5. Actually, I'll read 1.
- 5:27Let's see, there's two more, three more, three more questions
- 5:30for chapter 4. So why would people be called
- 5:34holy? To be holy means to be reserved
- 5:37by God for His own use. By judging Jerusalem and Judah,
- 5:42God purified his people, setting them apart for His glory.
- 5:47He separated his precious ones from the perpetrators of evil.
- 5:51Well, that comes at judgment time.
- 5:53Why did Isaiah focus on the filthiness of the women?
- 5:56This verse picks up on the theme of the women of Zion criticized
- 6:00in the preceding passage. Of the men, only survivors of
- 6:06holy character will remain. The women likewise will be
- 6:10cleansed in heart after the severe judgement God will
- 6:14inflict. Both the women of Jerusalem and
- 6:17her people generally need cleansing, and the Lord promises
- 6:22to do this. I see this is a very future
- 6:25event. OK, chapter 5.
- 6:27The song of the vineyard. I will sing for the one I love a
- 6:32song about his vineyard. My loved one had a vineyard on a
- 6:37fertile hillside. He dug it up and cleared it up
- 6:40stones and planted it with the choicest vines.
- 6:44He built a watchtower in it and cut out a winepress as well.
- 6:50Then he looked for a crop of good grapes, but it yielded only
- 6:54bad fruit. Now you dwellers in Jerusalem
- 6:58and the people of Judah, judge between me and my vineyard.
- 7:03What more could have done for my vineyard than I have done for
- 7:07it? When I looked for good grapes,
- 7:10what? Why did it yield only bad?
- 7:13Now I will tell you what I'm going to do to my vineyard.
- 7:18I will take away its hedge. I thought about the hedge of
- 7:22protection here, and it will be destroyed.
- 7:26I will break down its wall and it will be trampled.
- 7:30I will make it a wasteland, neither pruned nor cultivated,
- 7:35and breeders and thorns will grow there.
- 7:39I will command the clouds not to rain on it.
- 7:43The vineyard of the Lord Almighty is the nation of
- 7:47Israel. OK, that explains it.
- 7:49The vineyard of the Lord Almighty is the nation of
- 7:53Israel. So just think about that.
- 7:57The vineyard is the nation of Israel.
- 7:59So this prophet Isaiah is explaining it to us that the
- 8:04vineyard is the nation of Israel and the people of Judah.
- 8:08So I left that off and the people of Judah.
- 8:11So there's a separate denotation of these two.
- 8:14Then the nation of Israel. This is interesting.
- 8:18And the people of Judah. So the people of Judah would be
- 8:23a part of the nation of Israel, but the nation of Israel may not
- 8:28be all and completely part of Judah, which is interesting.
- 8:34And so the nation of Israel, I wonder if that includes those
- 8:38who are grafted in because in another Bible prophecy they talk
- 8:41about, you know, Gentiles even being grafted in to the nation
- 8:45of Israel. So I don't know that this this
- 8:49doesn't necessarily only apply to Jews.
- 8:52I don't believe this is in the end times.
- 8:56And it certainly takes place in Jerusalem.
- 8:58But I think it has a broader, it's a broader meaning here.
- 9:04So. And the people of Judah are the
- 9:07vines he delighted in. So the vineyard is Israel and
- 9:11the vines are Judah. That's it.
- 9:13OK, so that's a little bit better explanation.
- 9:16And he looked for justice, but he saw bloodshed for
- 9:19righteousness, but heard cries of distress.
- 9:24Woe to you to who? Add house to house, and join
- 9:28field to field till no space is left.
- 9:32You live alone in the land the Lord Almighty has declared in my
- 9:36hearing. Surely the great houses will
- 9:39become desolate, the fine mansions left without occupants.
- 9:45A10 acre vineyard will produce only a bath of wine.
- 9:48A Homer of seed will yield only an ephah of grain.
- 9:52Woe to those who rise early in the morning to run after their
- 9:56drinks, who stay up late at night till they are inflamed
- 10:00with wine. They have harps and leers at
- 10:04their banquets, pipes and timbrals and wine, but they have
- 10:08no regard for the deeds of the Lord, no respect for the work of
- 10:15His hands. So this is talking about, you
- 10:17know, they're, they're prosperous, they have
- 10:19everything, they love their wine, but they're not turned
- 10:23towards God at all. Therefore my people will go into
- 10:27exile for lack of understanding. Now God brings us forth through
- 10:34the prophet Hosea. Also, my people are destroyed
- 10:38for a lack of understanding. So this is repeated and God
- 10:42usually uses 2 witnesses to establish truth and to emphasize
- 10:46something as well. So we can find this in Hosea
- 10:49chapter 4, verse 6, the lack of understanding that, you know,
- 10:53people are destroyed for that those of high rank will die of
- 10:58hunger and the common people will be parched with thirst.
- 11:02Therefore death expands its jaws, opening wide its mouth,
- 11:08into it will descend their nobles and masses with all their
- 11:12brawlers and revellers. So people will beep, will be
- 11:17brought low, and everyone humbled, the eyes of the
- 11:22arrogant humbled. But the Lord Almighty will be
- 11:26exalted by his justice, and the holy God will be proved holy by
- 11:32His righteous acts. Then sheep will graze as in
- 11:37their own pasture. Lambs will feed among the ruins
- 11:40of the rich. Woe to those who draw sin along
- 11:45with cords of deceit and wickedness as with cart ropes.
- 11:52Let those who say, let God hurry, let him hasten his work
- 11:56so we may see it. I when I read that I, because I
- 12:01had heard this actually stated by someone, someone of Jewish
- 12:07faith and who doesn't believe that Jesus is the Messiah, but
- 12:13they are wanting to do things to encourage the Messiah's return,
- 12:19are not at return, but the Messiah is coming is what they
- 12:22call it. So I think about let God hurry,
- 12:27let him hasten his work so we may see it.
- 12:31I feel like, you know, that's where we're today.
- 12:33We're hearing that, OK, the plan of the Holy One of Israel, let
- 12:39it approach, let it come into view so we may know it.
- 12:43Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness
- 12:49for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for
- 12:52sweet and sweet for bitter. That certainly has been the last
- 12:57several years, at least here in the United States.
- 13:00Things that were evil were called good and good evil.
- 13:05So there's been a little bit of a change recently in 2025, but
- 13:09prior to that we had a good number of years where that was
- 13:14happening. So we are in this, I feel like
- 13:18we are in this like small window of opportunity for time.
- 13:22Maybe it's more than that. I hope it's more than that for
- 13:25more people to wake up and turn to God.
- 13:30But I do really feel like we are given this like window of
- 13:35opportunity and those who grab it will be so elated and a few
- 13:41more years that they did get close to God at this time.
- 13:46And those who ignore it and say I'll do that, I'll deal with
- 13:48that later or I've got this to do, I don't have time for that.
- 13:52Those people will, I'm a, I'm concerned that they will have
- 13:58run out of time and they will actually experience God's wrath.
- 14:03Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes and clever in
- 14:08their own sight. Woe to those who are heroes at
- 14:12drinking wine and champions at mixing drinks.
- 14:17And so I mean, it's like priorities not being in line
- 14:22with God's priorities, the worldly things and, you know,
- 14:26focused on the drinking wine, the mixing drinks and just, you
- 14:30know, the celebratory thing. It's, you know, just like the
- 14:34days of Noah, they were celebrating.
- 14:36They were, you know, being given in marriage.
- 14:38They were doing all these things.
- 14:40And then the flood came when they didn't expect it.
- 14:42The same will be when Jesus returns, the Messiah returns and
- 14:48people will be in the midst of living life as they always do.
- 14:53They will still have their ungodly priorities.
- 14:57When I say ungodly, it's it's God is not their priority.
- 15:00It's wine or mixing drinks or having fun or celebrating or
- 15:05whatever. That's their, that's what this
- 15:07is talking about is people who have their priorities.
- 15:11They're really good at certain aspects, but they've forgotten
- 15:14God. Who acquit the guilty for a
- 15:18bribe and their money focused. I mean this.
- 15:20There's a lot of stuff about being focused on money and
- 15:23possessions. Who acquit the guilty for a
- 15:26bribe but deny justice to the innocent.
- 15:31Like priorities are all messed up.
- 15:34Therefore, as tongues of fire lick up straw, as dry grass
- 15:40sinks down in the flames, so their roots will decay and their
- 15:46flowers blow away like dust. For they have rejected the law
- 15:53of the Lord Almighty. So it gives the reason why this
- 15:58is going to happen. It's saying woe, saying woe to
- 16:02woe to this is really interesting too, because I've
- 16:05just, I just kind of picked up on this too.
- 16:08In the Book of Revelation, it talks about this is the first
- 16:11woe, this is the second woe. This is the, you know, and
- 16:15there's one more woe to come or something in the Book of
- 16:18Revelation, it talks about that. And it's interesting right now
- 16:21that we see that these are woes that Isaiah is talking about.
- 16:26So these are the people that will be coming under God's
- 16:29judgement. OK, So for they have rejected
- 16:33that's it's giving us the reason why they've rejected the law of
- 16:37the Lord Almighty and spurned the word of the Holy One of
- 16:43Israel. Therefore the Lord's anger burns
- 16:46against his people. His hand is raised and he
- 16:49strikes them down. The mountains shake and the dead
- 16:53bodies are like refuse in the streets.
- 16:58Yet for all this, his anger is not turned away.
- 17:01His hand is still upraised. He lifts up a banner for distant
- 17:08nations. He whistles for those at the
- 17:11ends of the earth. This is really kind of
- 17:15interesting when I read this because when I was starting to
- 17:20study like back in 2020, wondering if this is the, you
- 17:25know, the global pandemic, I was wondering, is this a warning
- 17:29from God? You know, is there anything in
- 17:30the Bible about this? And, and yes, there is.
- 17:33I mean, what happened that year is classified as pestilence in
- 17:37the Bible. And that is the way that God did
- 17:40bring about warnings. He would send plagues like to
- 17:45Egypt, they experienced plagues before he brought his people out
- 17:51of Egypt. And so likewise, I think these
- 17:55are warnings to us before Jesus returns.
- 17:58These are warnings that are coming to us.
- 18:01And anyway, I started studying end times concepts and I just
- 18:09was curious, like, what do all the different religions believe
- 18:12about that? So obviously the Jewish people,
- 18:16not obviously, but I understand the Jewish people are looking
- 18:21for a Messiah. I don't know that they
- 18:24necessarily call it end times. I'm not really sure what
- 18:29completely they believe about that.
- 18:33If they believe, I'm assuming they believe what's in the Old
- 18:36Testament, but they just don't know who the people are, who the
- 18:39Messiah is. So they would they would believe
- 18:42the same things as Christians. And then when you get to the
- 18:46Muslims belief theirs is very similar to and I do believe that
- 18:53what happened is they because the last book of the Bible was
- 18:57written in 90AD and the Muslims text came about in like 637 so
- 19:03600 AD. So you know a good 500 plus
- 19:07years after the Bible was written.
- 19:10So I do believe that the Bible truth was taken and twisted and
- 19:17these the Angel that appeared to Muhammad was actually Satan or a
- 19:26demon or a fallen Angel because it says that an that Satan
- 19:31himself can appear as an Angel of light.
- 19:35So Satan, according to the Bible, can appear like an Angel,
- 19:40Satan can appear like Gabriel. And so did Muhammad represent
- 19:48the fruits of the spirit like in accordance with Galatians 5
- 19:52Somebody who has the Holy Spirit, somebody who has been
- 19:56anointed by God? No, no, not at all.
- 19:59He did not. There are many terrible things
- 20:02that Muhammad did and and he, you know, he was by violence.
- 20:09I mean, still, that's a, you know, the very.
- 20:12Hardcore Islamic beliefs, it's very much about violence and
- 20:16extermination of people who don't believe the same way they
- 20:20call them the unbelievers. Like when you if you are in
- 20:23Christianity and you talk about unbelievers, there is never ever
- 20:28a call to kill them. Never.
- 20:31The only call to believers in regards to unbelievers is to
- 20:36share the knowledge about what's in the Bible so that they can
- 20:43turn to God, They can repent and turn to God.
- 20:47It's the Bible loves life, Islam loves death and they, they see
- 20:54death as the way, whereas the Christian's belief is that, you
- 21:01know, we, we, we regard life and life everlasting as a result of
- 21:08what Jesus did on the cross to break the curse of death.
- 21:12So very differing of views, but I kind of got sidetracked there
- 21:16when I was talking about it. Just stuff that came to mind.
- 21:18But in the Islamic Muslim beliefs, they have a belief
- 21:23about in their hadiths where there's going to be these black
- 21:27flags that are raised and that's where their Mahdi will be
- 21:32present. Now I their Mahdi.
- 21:35When you read the description of their Mahdi it very much seems
- 21:39like what the Christians call the Antichrist.
- 21:42It really lines up because I think the Mahdi ends up being a
- 21:45global ruler and they he reigns for about 7 years and they don't
- 21:53know what happens to him after that.
- 21:55I mean, it's just really weird. It's like when I was reading it,
- 21:58I'm like they're describing the Antichrist and this is their
- 22:01somewhat Messiah Mahdi, their guy.
- 22:05And then the other thing that's very, very different about their
- 22:09own times is that they do acknowledge that Jesus comes,
- 22:12but then they say that Jesus submits to their Mahdi.
- 22:16So he becomes a lesser person, like the Mahdi is the greater
- 22:20one. And then it's so it's very,
- 22:25very, very deceptive. And who knows if you know these,
- 22:30if it was a fallen Angel who gave Muhammad this information,
- 22:34if they kind of have this plan in effect so that when Jesus
- 22:40literally does, they'll have all these people confused thinking
- 22:44that Jesus is going to submit to this other guy who's the Mahdi
- 22:47or whatever. Maybe that Mahdi is the
- 22:49Antichrist. I, you know, I don't know, we
- 22:52will have to see. But it's certainly their
- 22:56beliefs. Take the Bible and they twist
- 22:59the truth and insert other things.
- 23:01And that's exactly like what Satan does.
- 23:04You know, it's when evil is called good and good called
- 23:08evil. I mean, that's exactly what
- 23:10happens with these hadiths when you really get into it and study
- 23:15it, unfortunately. And there's so many people who
- 23:17are blinded by that as well. There will be people who
- 23:23believed in that that will their eyes will be opened.
- 23:26I do know that there's a lot of videos currently where Jesus is
- 23:30actually appearing to multiple people in their family in their
- 23:34dreams and they are actually having conversions to believe in
- 23:39Jesus and to put aside their other ways because these are so
- 23:43powerful. So that's very encouraging.
- 23:46God will call, you know, he will call his people, He will call
- 23:49every people. Every person will have had an
- 23:52opportunity to choose him or to reject him, to believe in him or
- 23:56to not believe in him. And if you don't believe in him,
- 24:02it it's your choice. Like God allows that, God allows
- 24:06that. But what happens is they don't
- 24:08understand that they will be then put into eternal fire.
- 24:14And this is going to be like a God thing that happens.
- 24:17It's not going to be people destroying other people, but
- 24:20it'll be coming under the judgement of God.
- 24:23So their deceptive religion is really doing exactly what Satan
- 24:29wants to do, to seek, kill and destroy.
- 24:33And the answer of Christianity would bring them into eternal
- 24:38life and the blessings of God and the inheritance as a brother
- 24:42and sister to Jesus. So I hope that people's eyes are
- 24:47open who are currently believers in that deceptive religion.
- 24:54So let's see. Anyway, it says he lifts up a
- 24:57banner for distant nations. So I wonder if if this is really
- 25:02like, you know, Satan knows the Bible pretty well.
- 25:05He studied it. You know, he's he's a different
- 25:10being as far as he's a created being, but he has a longer
- 25:15lifespan. Like he's been around for
- 25:17thousands of years. I don't know how long he's been
- 25:19around. I don't know when he was
- 25:21created, but he's been around for a long time.
- 25:24So he's had a long time to really get to know the Bible.
- 25:29And he, he, he, he knows a lot of things and he used the Bible
- 25:36verses against Jesus when he tempted him in the wilderness
- 25:39right after Jesus got baptized. And he went and tempted him at
- 25:46during his weakness, during his weak point.
- 25:49And that's what Satan does to people today.
- 25:51He does the same thing or, or his helpers or whatever, because
- 25:54there's other angels who chose to go along with him.
- 25:59So some things from the spiritual realm that chose to
- 26:03align with them, but not to scare people because the power
- 26:06of the Holy Spirit that is in Jesus, the power of God is
- 26:11greater. God's the creator greater than
- 26:14any other spirit. So if we are protected by the
- 26:18power of God, we have nothing to fear.
- 26:20And the authority that God has given to us is greater than what
- 26:27their authority is. And it's just we have our free
- 26:29will to choose, you know, what spirit are we going to allow to
- 26:33be our our Lord, basically? And if we don't actively tell
- 26:38God that we want him to be our God, then by default we are
- 26:44corrupted, the way I understand it, because we are all sinners.
- 26:48So we've naturally by default, because of what happened
- 26:52thousands of years ago, we by default end up there.
- 26:56So we have to make a choice and choose God.
- 27:00But so these these hadiths believe that there are going to
- 27:03be these banners raised and the Mahdi is going to be present and
- 27:06that every Muslim should go and seek these people because the
- 27:10Mahdi is going to be present. There's going to be a Great War
- 27:13and a great battle and there's going to be something involved
- 27:15with Mecca. And there's like all of this,
- 27:19this story that goes along with it.
- 27:20So I wonder if, you know, Satan or fallen angels picked up on
- 27:26this Isaiah prophecy of 26 and you know, kind of took it and
- 27:30said, hey, we're going to do something with this.
- 27:32So these distant nations, he whistles for those who are at
- 27:35the end of the earth, ends of the earth.
- 27:36Here's what it says about it. Here they come swiftly and
- 27:39speedily. Not one of them grows tired or
- 27:41stumbles. Not one slumbers or sleeps.
- 27:43Not a belt is loosened at the waist.
- 27:46Not a sandal strap is broken. Their arrows are sharp and all
- 27:49their bows are strung. Their horses hood seem like a
- 27:52Flint, their cherry it wheels like a whirlwind.
- 27:55Their roar is like that, like that of a lion.
- 28:00They roar like Young Lions. They growl as they seize their
- 28:04prey and carry it off. With no one to rescue in that
- 28:08day they will roar over it like the roaring of the sea.
- 28:14And if one looks at the land, there is only darkness and
- 28:20distress. Even the sun will be darkened by
- 28:25the clouds. So this really to me, I mean,
- 28:30this is evil coming against Israel and this is part of God's
- 28:37wrath because they rejected God, they rejected His law, and they
- 28:43didn't abide by the 10 commandments that Moses gave.
- 28:47They broke them and they didn't accept Jesus, who was the new
- 28:52covenant. So because they rejected Jesus,
- 28:56this is what is going to happen to the people up to the nation
- 29:00of Israel, as Isaiah says. And like I said, there are
- 29:04numerous verses here in the Bible, in other places that talk
- 29:09about the sun being darkened. So the last sentence, I'm going
- 29:12to read this again in that day. They will roar over it like the
- 29:16roaring of the sea. And and if one looks at the
- 29:19land, there is only darkness and distress.
- 29:23Even the sun will be darkened by the clouds.
- 29:27So I just, you know, that just came to mind, sun and darkened
- 29:33and there's just like 16 verses that had those exact words, sun
- 29:39and darkened. So I'm going to read that.
- 29:41Well, there's the first one I'm not going to read.
- 29:43OK, so Isaiah 530, that's the first verse that we talked
- 29:47about. So then Isaiah 13, verse 10, the
- 29:51stars of heaven and their constellations will no, will not
- 29:56show their light. The rising sun will be darkened
- 30:00and the the moon will not give its light.
- 30:03So that is right. The verse that comes before it.
- 30:08Isaiah 13 nine says, see the day of the Lord is coming, a cruel
- 30:13day with wrath and fierce anger to make the land desolate and
- 30:19destroy the sinners within it. So good news and bad news here.
- 30:28The good news is that the Lord is coming and there will be
- 30:32justice. The bad news is that all of us
- 30:36are sinners. So who can stand?
- 30:40Who can survive this? Those who put their faith and
- 30:43trust in Jesus. Those who reconcile themselves
- 30:47to Jesus. Those who finally say I don't
- 30:50care about my sin anymore, I'd rather be in eternity with you,
- 30:54God, do whatever you need to do in my life to change that, to
- 30:57make that happen. Those are the ones who won't
- 31:01have anything to fear, but everyone else will have to fear.
- 31:08And so this is really interesting too, because right
- 31:11now, of course, my computer is my laptop is is kind of acting
- 31:19weird as I'm going through this again.
- 31:21So and then Joel says this in chapter 2, verse 10 before them,
- 31:25the earth shakes, the heaven trembles, the sun and moon are
- 31:30darkened and the stars no longer shine.
- 31:34So what is he talking about? He's let's see, this is about an
- 31:41army of locusts. So that's really interesting
- 31:44too, because this army of locusts is also written about in
- 31:49Revelation, the Book of Revelation.
- 31:53So these are just, there's a lot more description.
- 31:56I'm not going to get into that, but it is talking about the end
- 32:00times again. So then in Joel chapter 3, verse
- 32:0615, it says the sun and moon will be darkened and the stars
- 32:11will no longer shine. So we have Joel who's saying the
- 32:15the Lord will roar from Zion and Thunder from Jerusalem.
- 32:19The earth and the heavens will tremble, but the Lord will be a
- 32:26refuge for his people, a stronghold for the people of
- 32:31Israel. So these are not talking about
- 32:34the sinners. These are talking about the
- 32:36people who have reconciled and it says the next verse in 17
- 32:41says then you will know that I the Lord your God dwell in Zion,
- 32:45my holy hill. Jerusalem will be holy.
- 32:49Never again will foreigners invade her.
- 32:53Well, that doesn't happen. That hasn't happened yet, has
- 32:55it? That this is something future
- 32:57that we're talking about the sun and the moon being darkened and
- 33:00the stars not shining. Jesus said immediately after the
- 33:07distress of those days. This is talking about when that
- 33:11lawless one let's we should read that like immediately after the
- 33:15distress of those days. Let's see.
- 33:18So here's let's read what Jesus says about this because it's
- 33:21pretty. It's talking about the
- 33:24destruction and the temple of the temple and the signs of the
- 33:27end of times. Jesus left the temple and was
- 33:30walking along, walking away, when his disciples came up to
- 33:33him to call his attention to its buildings.
- 33:35Do you see all these things? He asked.
- 33:37Truly, I tell you, not one stone here will be left on another.
- 33:41Everyone will be thrown down. As Jesus was sitting on the
- 33:45Mount of Olives, the disciple came to him privately.
- 33:49Tell us, they said, when will this happen and what will be the
- 33:54sign of your coming and of the end of the age.
- 34:00So the disciples knew there was going to be an end of age.
- 34:04They knew he was going to be coming, He would come again.
- 34:08So they're asking Jesus, this isn't that interesting?
- 34:13Jesus answered, Watch out that no one deceives you, for many
- 34:17will come in my name claiming I am the Messiah.
- 34:24You know, like I am the Mahdi and all that stuff.
- 34:26And they will deceive many. So there's going to be a lot of
- 34:28people that are deceived. You will hear of wars and rumors
- 34:31of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed.
- 34:34Such things must happen, but the end is still to come.
- 34:37Nation will rise against nation and Kingdom against Kingdom.
- 34:43There will be famines and earthquakes in various places.
- 34:48So I don't know if this is necessarily a global thing about
- 34:51the famines and earthquakes. It's just talking about along
- 34:54the way there's going to be famines in places and there will
- 34:57be earthquakes in places. And it says then he says all
- 35:01these are the beginning of birth pains.
- 35:05So that's at the very beginning. It it says then you will be
- 35:08handed over to be persecuted and put to death and you will be
- 35:11hated by all nations because of me.
- 35:15Well, that certainly happened to all of the disciples except for
- 35:18John. They were persecuted and put to
- 35:20death at that time. Many will turn away from the
- 35:24faith and will betray and hate each other and many false
- 35:29prophets will appear and deceive many people.
- 35:33All you have to do probably is go on YouTube now and search
- 35:37like God told me this. Well, who knows what is really
- 35:42behind that? It says many false prophets will
- 35:46appear and deceive money. So there's a lot of that going
- 35:50on. I think people like send me
- 35:52money and we'll give you, you know, a good prophecy and all
- 35:55that, all those people. But yeah, there's a lot of that.
- 36:00Because of the increase in wickedness, the love of most
- 36:04will go grow cold. It certainly feels like that
- 36:08today. It it feels like there's a lot
- 36:10of wickedness and it feels like a lack of love in the world.
- 36:16But the one who stands firm to the end will be saved and this
- 36:21gospel of the Kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a
- 36:27testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.
- 36:34So there is also a reference like this is stated also in Mark
- 36:38and in Luke in many places about the gospel being preached in the
- 36:42whole world. It also is in the Book of
- 36:44Revelation. There's an Angel who goes out.
- 36:46Now whether it's a literal Angel or it's an Angel, as they say,
- 36:49messenger who goes out, but everyone will have the
- 36:53opportunity to hear the gospel. So God is a just God.
- 36:58He is not going to harm anyone who never had the opportunity.
- 37:02So people always, you know, bring that up about like, that's
- 37:06not fair. Well, God is just so he can't be
- 37:09unfair. He is entirely fair.
- 37:12And people will know if they haven't known already.
- 37:16So this is what Jesus said. Listen to this.
- 37:19So when you see standing in the holy place, the abomination that
- 37:24causes desolation, spoken of through the prophet Daniel, let
- 37:28the reader understand. Let then let those who are in
- 37:32Judea flee to the mountains. Let no one on the housetop go
- 37:36down to take anything out of the house.
- 37:39Let no one in the field go back to get their cloak.
- 37:42How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and
- 37:45nursing mothers. Pray that your flight will not
- 37:48take place in winter or on the Sabbath, for then there will be
- 37:54great distress unequalled from the beginning of the world until
- 38:00now, and never to be equaled again.
- 38:04Well, I don't think we've experienced that yet.
- 38:06We have not seen great distress unequalled from the beginning of
- 38:11the world until now, and never to be equaled again.
- 38:15So, you know, they're still like lots of evil that's happening
- 38:22and it says never to be equaled again.
- 38:24I don't know if we can say any event in the earth is that great
- 38:30distress. And we haven't seen this
- 38:33abomination that causes desolation that's spoken of
- 38:36through Daniel the prophet. So this is something when we
- 38:42read the book of Daniel, we'll be talking about those things.
- 38:45But so this is another thing like it says that, you know, the
- 38:49gospel gets preached, then there's going to be this
- 38:51abomination desolation. So it's giving like all these
- 38:55details and it says like if anyone says at that time, look,
- 38:59here's the Messiah or there he is, don't believe it.
- 39:02For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform
- 39:05great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible the elect.
- 39:08See I have told you ahead of time.
- 39:10So if anyone tells you there he is out in the wilderness, do not
- 39:13go out here he is in the inner rooms.
- 39:16Do not believe it. For as lightning that comes from
- 39:19the East is visible even in the West, so will be the coming of
- 39:24the Son of Man. So at this time it is saying,
- 39:29you know, like just don't believe any of these other
- 39:31people who are called the Messiah or anything.
- 39:33It's not true. There's going to be a lot of
- 39:34them. There's going to be false
- 39:35prophets. But like lightning that comes
- 39:40from the east is visible even in the West.
- 39:42That means everybody's going to see God, Jesus coming in the
- 39:46clouds. So that's what this says, that
- 39:52there's a specific way that Jesus is going to return.
- 39:56And even when he ascended into heaven, they said something to
- 40:01the people that were witnessing there.
- 40:03They're like Jesus's ascension. They they said in what are you
- 40:08doing standing there the same way that he left is the same way
- 40:11he will return. So Jesus went up into the
- 40:14clouds, and he's coming back down on the clouds, so.
- 40:18Here's what Jesus continues to say.
- 40:21Immediately after the distress of those days, the sun will be
- 40:24darkened, the moon will not give its light, the stars will fall
- 40:29from the sky, and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.
- 40:34Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven, and then
- 40:41all the peoples of the earth will mourn when they see the Son
- 40:45of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and glory.
- 40:50And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they
- 40:55will gather his elect from the four winds from one end of the
- 41:00heavens to the other. So as I read this sequence of
- 41:03things, this is telling me that we are going to see the
- 41:08Antichrist before the return of Jesus.
- 41:13So there's a lot of people who are teaching other people that
- 41:16there is a pre tribulation rapture.
- 41:21I believe there is a pre wrath rapture, but not a pre
- 41:26tribulation rapture because there is tribulation that's been
- 41:30going on. And all we I have to do is read
- 41:32this very slowly in Matthew 24 and you see that this is this is
- 41:41when this happens. It it's after the lawless 1, you
- 41:48know, starts doing these things. So and it you know, it, it says,
- 41:54you know, this is yeah, it anyway, we got to pay attention
- 42:00to this. And and everybody who believes
- 42:02in this pre tribulation rapture, you will notice they always
- 42:07reference Luke. That's the only gospel they'll
- 42:11reference. They don't go to Matthew 24.
- 42:14They don't read through Matthew 24 because I think if they did,
- 42:17then they would see this order. And so it really does.
- 42:22I mean, it doesn't, it doesn't matter.
- 42:24I said the only reason why it matters is if people think that
- 42:28Jesus doesn't return because they expected him to come before
- 42:32any of this happens. And then they start seeing all
- 42:34this stuff happen. I hope that they just realize,
- 42:36OK, my assumption was wrong and you know, Jesus is still coming.
- 42:43I just hope that they don't fall away from the faith when they're
- 42:46like, oh, we were supposed to be out of here before this
- 42:48happened. So that's my only concern.
- 42:51But about that belief. But, you know, there's a lot of
- 42:56questions about the timing of everything.
- 42:59And I certainly don't believe that I know it because I don't.
- 43:03It says that no one knows the day or the hour.
- 43:06And we have a little bit of information or we might get some
- 43:09information from God, but we just have to wait and see.
- 43:12But it's not, you know, we should look because we should
- 43:15warn other people so that they can get ready.
- 43:17That's what I think is really important about this.
- 43:21It's not so much for ourselves, but it's for other people who
- 43:24have no idea this is coming on at some point in time.
- 43:29And so they're not prepared and then they're going to go through
- 43:31God's wrath. Like if we were loving to other
- 43:34people, we would warn other people.
- 43:36Do you know what God says? Do you know that there's going
- 43:39to be this time of wrath that comes on people who have not
- 43:42reconciled themselves with God? You know, do you want to maybe
- 43:46look and get your questions answered and you know, read the
- 43:51Bible, study the Bible, pray to God, ask God to reveal himself
- 43:55to you. It says if you seek me with all
- 43:58your heart, you will he, God will be found.
- 44:02So if we seek him, if we desire to know him, to know the truth,
- 44:07he will, he will respond to that.
- 44:09He wants us all to be saved. He wants us to come to
- 44:14repentance. He wants us to turn to him.
- 44:16He wants us to be in his Kingdom.
- 44:18He wants to give us gifts. There's so much, but there's a
- 44:22lot of people who are just like not even paying attention to
- 44:25this. And it's very concerning to me
- 44:29because it's repeated throughout Scripture.
- 44:32I mean, just look at what these verses that I've been talking
- 44:36about. There's so many of them.
- 44:38So also Mark says, but in those days following that distress,
- 44:43the sun will be darkened and the moon will not give its light.
- 44:48So you have Matthew, you have Mark, and I don't.
- 44:52I guess Luke doesn't say something about that, but it's
- 44:56in Revelation. So you have John because John
- 44:58wrote the Book of Revelation. Now here's the interesting
- 45:01thing. When he opened the abyss, this
- 45:05is Jesus, right? He has the keys to the abyss.
- 45:08Smoke rose from it like smoke from a giant gigantic furnace.
- 45:14The sun and the sky were darkened by the smoke from the
- 45:18abyss. Now, could this be that time is
- 45:21at that middle point when this is where like the evil gets
- 45:25loosed from the abyss and all these really strange wrathful
- 45:31things start happening that are written about in the Book of
- 45:34Revelation? That's what I tend to think is
- 45:37going to happen. And so I do want to warn people.
- 45:41So just search the sun being darkened or the sun will not
- 45:44give its light and see how many times and then read those
- 45:48chapters that talk about that if you don't believe me.
- 45:50But God said this through many prophets, through many
- 45:56followers. You have Matthew and John who
- 46:00were disciples of Jesus. You have Joel, you have Isaiah,
- 46:04and you also have Mark, who was a friend of Peter, who is one of
- 46:08the original disciples. So anyway, there's lots of
- 46:13people who are telling us this is what's going to happen.
- 46:15It's like the sun's going to be darkened.
- 46:17The moon, the sun and the moon are darkened and the stars no
- 46:20longer shine and the stars fall from the sky because the
- 46:26heavenly bodies will be shaken. Now, stars are sometimes
- 46:29symbolic of angels. So I don't know if that's the
- 46:33fallen angels are booted out of heaven at that point because it
- 46:37says like, you know, woe to the inhabitants of the earth because
- 46:40the devil has been sent down and he has he knows his time is
- 46:44short. So that could be that 3 1/2
- 46:48years. The final, like I think this
- 46:50happens like at the midpoint of the, the seven-year period that
- 46:55all this happens, like Satan is knocked out of heaven, doesn't
- 46:59get heaven any, you know, he doesn't have access there
- 47:01anymore. He's, he's just filled with
- 47:03wrath against all the people because he knows that his time
- 47:07is short and there's a 3 1/2 year period of this wrath that
- 47:12goes, well, I don't know, maybe not.
- 47:13There's some studies that say it's about a year wrath because
- 47:16people think like, how could somebody survive?
- 47:18But there's like a sequence. I mean, if you look at the
- 47:21trumpets and the seals, it's like the trumpets are almost
- 47:24like the warnings that it's gradually getting worse and then
- 47:27the seals take care of the the remainder.
- 47:31Like if it's a third happens in the trumpets, then 2/3 happens
- 47:36in the seals or something, you know, or you know, another
- 47:39third. It's just like an incremental
- 47:41increase. You have the trumpets and then
- 47:43you have the seals. And those are God's wrath, God's
- 47:45judgement on people who have not repented.
- 47:49So anyway, I will go back to the questions and answers on these
- 47:55chapters and then conclude this. So we talked about four.
- 48:00So in five on what it says, what's the purpose of the cloud
- 48:05of smoke by day and the flame flaming fire at night?
- 48:09In Isaiah, Mount Zion is elevated above the surrounding
- 48:12hills. Here it is protected by divine
- 48:14symbols reminiscent of the journey of Egypt.
- 48:17Out of Egypt. The protective symbols would not
- 48:20move as they did during the exodus for the future, Mount
- 48:24Zion is the journey's end The picture in these verses is
- 48:28glorious and certainly. Yet in the future as judah's
- 48:32returning exiles did not experience such tranquil
- 48:36conditions so study Bible agrees this is end times.
- 48:40Why the sudden shift to a love song?
- 48:42Isaiah was moving from the hope of the future time to the
- 48:45painful reality of of the moment.
- 48:49In this poetic shift shift, a picture of redemption changes to
- 48:54a parable in song followed by the stinging words of judgment.
- 49:00The what? Why did Isaiah focus on so much
- 49:04issues of of justice? The Hebrew word for justice
- 49:08refers not only to legal matters decided by courts, but also to
- 49:12all matters of right behavior and proper treatment of people.
- 49:16God is concerned about all human behavior, right and wrong in our
- 49:20personal lives, family interactions, neighborhoods,
- 49:24general society, and so on. Is productivity a bad thing?
- 49:30It is bad when the desire to accumulate wealth possesses
- 49:34people and causes them to walk over others.
- 49:38God's property laws provided for land to remain permanently
- 49:43within families. Like King Ahab, who coveted and
- 49:48seized Naboth's vineyard, many in Judah had become land
- 49:52grabbers, caring only for themselves in their mad pursuit
- 49:56of pleasure. Justice, love and respect for
- 49:59others had been sacrificed on the altar of pleasure, self and
- 50:03greed. What's wrong with having great
- 50:06houses and fine mansions? Throughout most of history, the
- 50:10number of people living in mansions is small compared to
- 50:13the number of people living in poverty.
- 50:15The building and upkeep of extravagant houses can sometimes
- 50:19be at the expense of those who barely have enough to exist.
- 50:23Isaiah links a lifestyle of wealth to oppression of many
- 50:27poor in Israel and Judah, tracing it back to the rejection
- 50:32of God and His laws. What would this exile mean?
- 50:37The people of Judah, like the people of Israel before them,
- 50:40would be banished from their own country, taken captive to a
- 50:44foreign land. God used exile in the Old
- 50:46Testament to punish his people, purging them of their sinful and
- 50:50rebellious ways. Why would Judas judgement exalt
- 50:57God? Because Judas punishment was
- 50:59deserved, it was right, and therefore honoring to God that
- 51:03these sinful people be punished. God's judgement revealed His
- 51:07Holiness as well as His power to act according to His character.
- 51:12Judging sin is consistent with who God is.
- 51:16Why condemn those who wanted to see God's work?
- 51:20They were condemned because they were not sincere.
- 51:24Their words dripped with deceit, scorn, and sarcasm.
- 51:29They had grown so arrogant that they even mocked God's power and
- 51:33holiness. Because they had prospered in
- 51:35their sin, they did not believe God was capable of judging them.
- 51:41That's a lot of people today don't believe that.
- 51:43You know, they're like, oh, these people are evil and yet
- 51:45they have so much. So God isn't fair.
- 51:49Well, that's exactly what it's talking about here.
- 51:53It's like they, you know, these people because they had
- 51:59prospered in their sin. They did not believe that God
- 52:02was capable of judging them. They just thought, nobody's
- 52:05going to touch me. I'm in no harm because look at
- 52:06what I've done and I've done an innocentful way.
- 52:09I think there's probably people like that today.
- 52:13So what role did a banner play? Symbols were placed on poles,
- 52:17hilltops or other highly visible places to rally troops.
- 52:21For God to raise a banner for his distant nations was a
- 52:24figurative way of saying that he was calling them to battle
- 52:27against his people. If verses 26 through 30 were
- 52:31originally a prophecy against the northern Kingdom, then Isaac
- 52:34certainly would have had a Syrian mind.
- 52:36And indeed, Assyria was to threaten Judah, too, even though
- 52:39it was the Babylonians from equally far away in Mesopotamia
- 52:44who had ultimately destroyed Jerusalem.
- 52:47And I still think that because the way this is written, that
- 52:50this is actually something that's going to come into the
- 52:53future. So we know when the nations rise
- 52:56against Israel, that's when it happens.
- 52:59So anyway, now is a great time to reconcile with God.
- 53:05That's pretty much all I have to say.
