- 0:12[SPEAKER_00]: Monday, July, seventh.
- 0:13[SPEAKER_00]: I hope everyone had a happy, safe holiday weekend, happy and dependent state.
- 0:18[SPEAKER_00]: Everybody out there ready to get back to work this week.
- 0:22[SPEAKER_00]: Talk some jacks, football with y'all.
- 0:24[SPEAKER_00]: As we get closer and closer to the start of training camp.
- 0:28[SPEAKER_00]: And once training camp begins, y'all know it's hot and heavy.
- 0:32[SPEAKER_00]: We'll have coverage basically every day.
- 0:34[SPEAKER_00]: There will be off days here and there.
- 0:37[SPEAKER_00]: from training camp, but we'll still try to get some content out for you on those days.
- 0:41[SPEAKER_00]: But training camp practice days are they're grind, but they're a lot of fun.
- 0:46[SPEAKER_00]: I'm excited to get out there and do it.
- 0:47[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's going to for media going to be kicking off around July, twenty-third, something like that.
- 0:54[SPEAKER_00]: So a couple weeks away.
- 0:59[SPEAKER_00]: That's going to be awesome because once training camp starts you get into the preseason very quickly and then regular season just around the corner so we really are getting very close to real football we are but for right now we are still in the dead period.
- 1:14[SPEAKER_00]: And a lot of people think about fantasy football.
- 1:17[SPEAKER_00]: We did a fantasy football show.
- 1:18[SPEAKER_00]: I think it was last week or the week before talking about like Jack Morris players that you could potentially target where they're being valued right now.
- 1:25[SPEAKER_00]: Do I think that they're good values at that point?
- 1:29[SPEAKER_00]: And so kind of continuing with that.
- 1:33[SPEAKER_00]: We did talk about Brenton Strange and
- 1:36[SPEAKER_00]: PFF has tabbed Britain Strange Jaguar's Titan as a potential breakout candidate for twenty twenty five and they actually listed him you know at the top of their potential breakouts which is pretty interesting and so we're going to dive into that and
- 1:57[SPEAKER_00]: Just to discuss, like, do I think that strange has the physical ability, the talent to break out?
- 2:03[SPEAKER_00]: Do I think the situation is right for him to break out?
- 2:06[SPEAKER_00]: All that good stuff.
- 2:07[SPEAKER_00]: So really appreciate y'all tuning in.
- 2:09[SPEAKER_00]: And we'll also talk about just like, you can break out from a tight end perspective and also not be fantasy relevant.
- 2:18[SPEAKER_00]: Like, you can break out
- 2:20[SPEAKER_00]: in terms of playing well at the tight end position and be very useful for your team and still not be like a super fantasy relevant guy.
- 2:27[SPEAKER_00]: So we'll dive into all that really appreciate y'all be in here.
- 2:29[SPEAKER_00]: If you enjoy the content, please like and if you have not already, please subscribe.
- 2:34[SPEAKER_00]: Lot of folks watch the channel are not subscribed.
- 2:36[SPEAKER_00]: So please be sure to do that really appreciate y'all support of the channel and we're just trying to provide the most consistent and well thought out Jack Wars coverage.
- 2:46[SPEAKER_00]: that there is out there.
- 2:47[SPEAKER_00]: So again, they kill so much for supporting.
- 2:49[SPEAKER_00]: So PFF list, Britain Strange is a potential tight end breakout for fantasy in twenty twenty five, and it's Jonathan Macree who posted this article.
- 3:03[SPEAKER_00]: They believe he has a lot of similarities to some of the different titans that have broken out had breakout fantasy seasons over the last couple years.
- 3:11[SPEAKER_00]: And I know a lot of our viewers also take a look at PFF articles.
- 3:15[SPEAKER_00]: So I just wanted to discuss this one and give my kind of take on it.
- 3:20[SPEAKER_00]: So they talk about how when Evan Ingraham was out of the lineup last year, Britain strange, he had four top twelve finishes in the eight games that
- 3:29[SPEAKER_00]: Ingram was not in the lineup.
- 3:32[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, so you're talking about half of his weeks were fantasy relevant and standard formats where you have twelve team leagues, right?
- 3:41[SPEAKER_00]: That's not bad.
- 3:42[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it's not great, but it's not horrible.
- 3:46[SPEAKER_00]: They also talk about everning room no longer being in Jacksonville, so that should help Britain's strange target share, that should help us, you know, ability to be on the field.
- 3:54[SPEAKER_00]: They don't mention anything about
- 3:59[SPEAKER_00]: Christian Kurt, not being available last year, and Diami Brown coming to Jacksonville this year.
- 4:06[SPEAKER_00]: So those are two things that I kind of think hurts the case for Britain strange being a true breakout tie-in like somebody who you feel good about having in your top in your lineup on a weekly basis in fantasy football.
- 4:22[SPEAKER_00]: Feel that way because I think the army brown is going to have a larger target share at the end of the season than Britain's strained will.
- 4:31[SPEAKER_00]: You'll look at.
- 4:33[SPEAKER_00]: Just kind of historically with Ram's Offences, with Liam Cohen Offences.
- 4:40[SPEAKER_00]: Why'd receivers are featured more in the passing game than tight ends are?
- 4:44[SPEAKER_00]: It's just kind of the way it is.
- 4:45[SPEAKER_00]: And the Jaguar is brought Diami Brown in here for a reason and paid him ten million dollars for a reason.
- 4:51[SPEAKER_00]: They want him to be heavily featured in the passing game.
- 4:55[SPEAKER_00]: And so even if Diami Brown and Britain strange are on a similar pace targets and receptions wise,
- 5:04[SPEAKER_00]: You've got two clear guys ahead of them.
- 5:08[SPEAKER_00]: I think you also have a running back out of the back field and Travis ETN and there's a couple other guys that can contribute in the past game as well.
- 5:16[SPEAKER_00]: When you look at Bacial Tutan and Lee Quint Allen especially, but Travis ETN has proven that he can be a heavily utilized past catcher out of the back field.
- 5:26[SPEAKER_00]: Diami Brown, the Jaguar saw what he did late in the year for the Washington Commanders, the ability that he's shown throughout his career when targeted and then even going back to what he did at North Carolina.
- 5:39[SPEAKER_00]: And they see him as somebody who can really contribute.
- 5:42[SPEAKER_00]: So all of a sudden, even though Britain's strange is tied in one, I think the argument for him being a high
- 5:53[SPEAKER_00]: Target share and super productive player consistently in this offense is really a bit of a reach at this point.
- 6:01[SPEAKER_00]: And that has nothing to do with his physical ability.
- 6:04[SPEAKER_00]: I do think if Liam Cohen was that Jaguar's coach last year.
- 6:09[SPEAKER_00]: and it was the same situation where Christian Kirk was out for a lot of the year where Evan Ingram was out for a lot of the year that Britain's strange would actually have been a better producer than he was last year.
- 6:22[SPEAKER_00]: I think that Liam Cohen would have gotten him the ball a lot because he was good.
- 6:26[SPEAKER_00]: uh... he was impressive and his skill set is really well-rounded i mean he has the ability to line up in the slot to line up in line to line up as an h-back you can move him around the formation a lot and you can get him the ball in a lot of different ways because he is big he is strong uh... he he wants the smoke right like he's a physical player who is ready for contact ready to run through contact as a ball carrier
- 6:52[SPEAKER_00]: ready to block at a really high level in space and ready to just compete and you like having those types of guys on your team.
- 6:59[SPEAKER_00]: He's also got solid hands.
- 7:01[SPEAKER_00]: You've seen him go up and make some plays on the football that are really impressive, both in practice and in games.
- 7:07[SPEAKER_00]: You saw that throughout his not super long career of production at Penn State, but his kind of breakout year that led him to being a second round pick by the Jack Wars.
- 7:20[SPEAKER_00]: It was impressive.
- 7:20[SPEAKER_00]: So there's a lot to like about Britain's strangers game.
- 7:24[SPEAKER_00]: I think as the Jaguars Titan won this year, he is going to have a good season.
- 7:29[SPEAKER_00]: I also think the Jaguars are going to be in a lot of two Titan sets.
- 7:34[SPEAKER_00]: Liam Cohen, he liked to do that in Tampa.
- 7:37[SPEAKER_00]: I think you saw them bring in Hunter Long and Johnny Month and Quentin Morris and even Patrick Herbert, Justin Herbert's little brother out of Oregon for a reason.
- 7:46[SPEAKER_00]: They want guys in there that can go in and be
- 7:50[SPEAKER_00]: good blockers and not be net negatives in the passing game.
- 7:54[SPEAKER_00]: Like, if you're going to be targeted because of, you know, the situation calls for it, you know, teams are giving a lot of attention to Brian Thomas Jr.
- 8:03[SPEAKER_00]: Travis Hunter, you might be a leak out guy, you might be a guy that defends isn't paying him as much attention to.
- 8:08[SPEAKER_00]: Can you make the play in the passing game for us?
- 8:11[SPEAKER_00]: You don't need to elevate the passing game.
- 8:12[SPEAKER_00]: You just need to be, you know, a cog in the wheel, so to speak.
- 8:18[SPEAKER_00]: So a cog in the machine.
- 8:22[SPEAKER_00]: There's just a lot to me that's pointing to, if you're drafting Britain's strange to be a starting tight end, maybe you're just a big fan of his game, maybe you're a Jack's fan that wants to get as many Jack's players on the team as they can, maybe you want to stack to have a Lawrence with a receiver, right?
- 8:41[SPEAKER_00]: Britain's strange.
- 8:43[SPEAKER_00]: I would not advise doing that.
- 8:46[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, if you want to do a late round swing and have an earlier tight end,
- 8:50[SPEAKER_00]: that you select maybe, but I just don't see a path to him having a consistent season as a receiver for the Jaguars from a target share standpoint.
- 9:05[SPEAKER_00]: I think a lot of weeks he'll be fourth
- 9:08[SPEAKER_00]: in the pecking order in terms of receiving targets.
- 9:12[SPEAKER_00]: Whether it be, I think usually you're going to have Brian Thomas Jr.
- 9:16[SPEAKER_00]: and Travis Hunter up there at the top, but then I think Deami Brown can sneak into the top three or will be in the top three a lot.
- 9:21[SPEAKER_00]: I think Travis ETN can be in the top three or four a lot.
- 9:25[SPEAKER_00]: So I think beyond Brian Thomas Jr.
- 9:27[SPEAKER_00]: and Travis Hunter who are going to be target hogs.
- 9:32[SPEAKER_00]: I honestly think that there's going to be a fairly even distribution of targets between strange brown and ETN, and I would stack it brown, then strange, then ETN in terms of those targets.
- 9:44[SPEAKER_00]: So that's kind of just a tough place to be to really break out.
- 9:50[SPEAKER_00]: If he was in a situation where the Jaguar has hadn't drafted Travis Hunter, and you were sitting with Brian Thomas Jr., Deami Brown, and then Britain Strange was like the clear number three.
- 10:03[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, or even you could argue number two at times.
- 10:06[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I could see that.
- 10:08[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, that wouldn't be the best situation for the Jaguar as passing offense because you'd be missing out on Travis Hunter, who's an awesome player.
- 10:16[SPEAKER_00]: Potential game changer for you.
- 10:18[SPEAKER_00]: One of the best hands guys I've ever seen unbelievably explosive and creates great separation as a route runner and as a ball carrier.
- 10:27[SPEAKER_00]: Happy to have Travis Hunter here, but I definitely don't think that he helps Britain strange potential production profile here.
- 10:34[SPEAKER_00]: So I do think strange is going to have a good season.
- 10:37[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's going to have some weeks where Liam Cohen and company Grant Edensky, they see, you know, he could give us some serious
- 10:49[SPEAKER_00]: mismatched advantages.
- 10:51[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe there's weeks where they're going up against the defense that they're really expecting to try to bracket or focus on Brian Thomas Jr.
- 11:00[SPEAKER_00]: or Travis Hunter or both.
- 11:02[SPEAKER_00]: And they're just like, look, we're getting some advantageous matchup with Britain's strange.
- 11:08[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to utilize those.
- 11:09[SPEAKER_00]: And I think there's also just going to be times where like short yardage situations.
- 11:13[SPEAKER_00]: And I don't mean like third and one.
- 11:15[SPEAKER_00]: I mean like, you know, third and three to four where they're not sure they really want to run the ball, but they want to get this first down.
- 11:22[SPEAKER_00]: I think Britain's strange in the quick game can be very useful in that regard.
- 11:29[SPEAKER_00]: I absolutely think he's going to be a quick game weapon for them.
- 11:31[SPEAKER_00]: I also think he can be a red zone threat for them.
- 11:36[SPEAKER_00]: And so he's going to have utilization.
- 11:38[SPEAKER_00]: He's going to play a lot.
- 11:40[SPEAKER_00]: You're going to be on the field a lot.
- 11:42[SPEAKER_00]: He's going to be targeted.
- 11:43[SPEAKER_00]: But in terms of breaking out truly in fantasy, I don't see it breaking out as a player, as someone who is useful for his offense and helps them win games, I do see that.
- 11:54[SPEAKER_00]: So you can kind of take that for what you will.
- 11:57[SPEAKER_00]: That's kind of how I see the Britain strange, twenty twenty five season going.
- 12:01[SPEAKER_00]: A good year, a year fans can be excited about, but maybe not a year that fantasy owners will be particularly excited about the way things are stacking up right now.
- 12:11[SPEAKER_00]: Let me know what y'all think in the comment section below.
