- 0:05All you have to do is show up for the seasons and the weather whims of your
- 0:10feelings and inner movements as they're happening,
- 0:13and the rest will unfold perfectly.
- 0:25Hello and welcome back to Remember Why You Here,
- 0:29a podcast for seekers and sensitives where you can relax, receive,
- 0:33reconnect to yourself, and remember the most important thing of all,
- 0:38why you're here.
- 0:40This episode today is going to be a little bit of a simpler one,
- 0:45a little bit of a quieter one, a little bit of a cozy one.
- 0:50I am just getting started today with the new cohort for Earth
- 0:54Angel School 2026.
- 0:57We only open the doors once a year to this school and now the doors are closing
- 1:01and I'm so excited to get started with this group in this spiritual school for
- 1:05sensitives. And because that's happening today,
- 1:09I decided to release a podcast that is just a little bit more easeful.
- 1:15I also think that this podcast today is something I really
- 1:20need to remember right now in this world.
- 1:21So I wanted to share this recording that I made several years ago called Is This
- 1:27An Awakening? In this recording,
- 1:30I talk about the signs that you are having an awakening,
- 1:34especially within the context of looking at the greater metaphor of spring.
- 1:39We so often doubt whether we are actually making changes in our life,
- 1:43whether we are actually getting to the other side of something and there's a
- 1:47really important metaphor inherent to spring that can help us
- 1:52recognize awakenings when they're happening in our lives.
- 1:57I have been just absolutely soaking in the beauty of spring
- 2:02here in the mountains where I live.
- 2:05There are a cacophony of wildflowers in the early spring.
- 2:09The coves here are filled with spring ephemerals,
- 2:13and it's just one of the most joyful moments of the entire year to witness them.
- 2:18And at the same time, balancing that joy,
- 2:21this very present physical joy of being on earth with the
- 2:25intensity of living in this planet, the intensity of the global climate,
- 2:29the political climate,
- 2:31with the realities of what is happening in the wider human world.
- 2:36And this episode felt really important to tune back into
- 2:42because of this as well.
- 2:44This is a question I think a lot of us are asking ourselves like,
- 2:48"Is this the end or is this an awakening?" And I think in our heart of hearts,
- 2:53we really know the answer to that question,
- 2:56but our fragile human selves and our sensitive nervous systems really
- 3:01need to ask this question, right? Is really wondering,
- 3:05are we witnessing something dissolving?
- 3:07And I think the answer to that is yes,
- 3:11but what we're also witnessing is an awakening.
- 3:14But I think it can really help to understand within this what
- 3:19awakenings actually look like because I think sometimes we have this view or
- 3:23this vision of awakenings that is preventing us from recognizing them when
- 3:28they're actually happening. So in this gentle episode today,
- 3:33settle in and simply receive as we explore,
- 3:37is this an awakening?
- 3:42We all want to experience awakenings,
- 3:45a sense and that feeling of renewal, new perspective, new beginning.
- 3:50When spring comes around, it seems like awakening's not that far off,
- 3:53but a lot of times we forget actually what awakening feels like.
- 3:58The truth is that you're probably already having an awakening this spring.
- 4:03Let's just look at the signs.
- 4:04These are the telltale signs that you're actually in the midst of an awakening.
- 4:09Sometimes I find it's helpful to look at the seasons that we're inhabiting to
- 4:14really understand the way in which our inner rhythms work.
- 4:19So when it comes to awakenings, there's no better time to look at than spring.
- 4:24So let's look at some of the signs that you're experiencing an awakening.
- 4:29The first sign is that you're having new lows.
- 4:33So a lot of times we hear this word awakening,
- 4:35we think it's going to be all like flash and banner and excitement and
- 4:39flowers. But if we actually look at the way spring works,
- 4:43you kind of hit an all time low before spring really comes into gear.
- 4:47So oftentimes the hardest days of winter are those last days of
- 4:52winter that are transitioning into spring.
- 4:54This is when you get those last snowstorms.
- 4:56It's when those glass cold snaps come in.
- 4:59Maybe you get a couple blossoms on a branch and then you get another freeze.
- 5:04So I think it's important to keep this in mind when we're thinking about
- 5:07awakenings because really sometimes when we experience things like depression,
- 5:12despondency, a new low,
- 5:15what we're actually tuning into is this energy of the first burst of spring,
- 5:20this energy of the fact that awakenings can actually come out of these low
- 5:24spaces.
- 5:25So if you are transitioning into the season and you're feeling that sense of
- 5:30heaviness, almost like cabin fever hitting a pitch,
- 5:34then this might be that you're actually just about to burst into your awakening.
- 5:40Speaking of cabin fever,
- 5:41you might also be feeling some sense of restlessness or numbness,
- 5:46and these are signs that you've actually outgrown your life.
- 5:50You've outgrown the small boxes that you've been in and you're getting this
- 5:54restlessness because you're ready for something new.
- 5:57So when you start to feel that sense of constriction,
- 6:01it can be really beneficial to not just default into the state of thinking that
- 6:05something's wrong with your life or you have to forcibly change something,
- 6:08but recognizing that you're feeling that because your spirit is already opening
- 6:12up to this change and this awakening.
- 6:15The next sign is that you might be seesawing back and forth between
- 6:20the newness and the oldness. Now this is a classic sign of spring awakening,
- 6:25right? Spring is fickle.
- 6:26One day it'll be warm and beautiful and the flowers will be out and the next day
- 6:30it'll be cold again. And we're going to wonder if it might not be winter
- 6:33forever.
- 6:34So if you are seesawing back and forth between these states of feeling like
- 6:39freshness is really coming into your life and then feeling like everything's
- 6:41always going to be the same as it always was,
- 6:44know that this itself is a sign of an awakening.
- 6:48I love thinking about the definition of a revelation. Break it down,
- 6:53a revelation literally means to reveal.
- 6:55So we know we've had a revelation when that veil comes back down over
- 7:00what we perceived. The gateway opens up,
- 7:04we see something new and different that changes our perspective and our lives.
- 7:07And then the veil comes back down and it seems as if we've returned to our
- 7:11normal lives, but really we're changed just from that glimpse.
- 7:15So think about this seesawing back and forth,
- 7:19these fickle days of spring, whether that's inner spring or outer spring,
- 7:23as these revelations that are coming to show you these glimpses. So
- 7:28awakenings are literally like waking up to glimpse something and then going back
- 7:33to sleep. That's how they work.
- 7:35Awakenings lead to being awake to a new level or perception or
- 7:40awareness of ourselves.
- 7:42So know that when you have these flashes and it seems like you're defaulting to
- 7:46old patterns, this isn't a negative thing.
- 7:49It's actually just indicative that you are awakening.
- 7:53The third sign is that you may have stuff that comes up to be healed.
- 7:58So we all know this dance of spring,
- 8:01the things that you put on hold from the fall or that you didn't have time to do
- 8:05or is too cold to do outside in the winter,
- 8:07suddenly come back onto your to- do list in the spring and you know,
- 8:11it's time to get this stuff done,
- 8:13whether that's fixing the roof or the potholes in the driveway or digging in
- 8:18perennials into the garden. So a lot of times when we're experiencing an
- 8:22awakening,
- 8:22we're actually going to have stuff come up that's residual and ready to really
- 8:27be released, healed or tended to.
- 8:30Sometimes when we have these things come up that need healing,
- 8:34we think that we're just defective or that this is actually preventing us from
- 8:38awakening,
- 8:39but the truth is that these things are coming up so you can embrace the full
- 8:44awakening that spring has to offer.
- 8:45And it can be a joy to tend to these things that maybe we didn't have the
- 8:50time, space,
- 8:51or energy to tend to when we were in the winter of our seasons or of our
- 8:56awareness. Lastly,
- 8:59the first sign of awakening is not necessarily that something's blooming,
- 9:03but that something's dropping away.
- 9:06If you actually look at the way spring happens,
- 9:09before the flowers come out,
- 9:11there's going to be the old guard that dissipates,
- 9:14whether that's compost settling into the ground or the old leaves finally
- 9:18falling off the tree,
- 9:20the discarding of the old has to come before the new
- 9:24blooming. So if you find that you're going through a process of shedding,
- 9:29whether that's coming up against conflicting belief patterns or shedding
- 9:34an old relationship or feeling the need to move or change something in your
- 9:38life, know that this is actually a predecessor of the blooms.
- 9:42And oftentimes we have to do this work before the flowers and the awakening can
- 9:46come through.
- 9:48And early spring is a time in which this stuff is going to come up because
- 9:52there's so much ready to flower for us.
- 9:55So remember that spring always happens on its own time.
- 10:01Every year I keep a bloom journal of when certain flowers bloom in my garden and
- 10:05it's different every single year. So know this for yourself too,
- 10:10that your awakening will happen on your timeframe, your schedule,
- 10:14and it's always unfolding perfectly.
- 10:18So just embrace the sweetness and the perfection of that timing. And
- 10:22just like spring itself, know that you don't need to rush the flowering.
- 10:27It happens naturally and organically on its own.
- 10:30All you have to do is show up for the seasons and the weather whims of your
- 10:35feelings and inner movements as they're happening,
- 10:38and the rest will unfold perfectly.
- 10:41And keep your eyes peeled for those first tiny insights of clarity,
- 10:46like those first crocus bulbs coming up in spring.
- 10:49You're going to get these flashes,
- 10:50these twinkles that are giving you a glimpse of the kind of clarity that's
- 10:55going to come in the future. Awakenings aren't about having clarity now.
- 11:00It's about realizing that there's actually a bigger landscape to look
- 11:05at than you previously thought was possible for yourself.
- 11:09The clarity will come later. For now,
- 11:11just notice where those little insights are coming in and move towards them.
- 11:16Try sinking into your body and let your body lead the way. What feels good to
- 11:21lean into? What feels textured?
- 11:24Just like the body of the earth knows when it's the right time to start
- 11:28blooming, your body knows this too. Trust yourself.
- 11:35That is always so helpful for me to remember in my life.
- 11:38And this is the thing about being in relationship with the living world is we
- 11:42receive these mirrors and these metaphors that help normalize our journey,
- 11:47that help us understand the way patterns unfold here on this planet.
- 11:52And when we can see the pattern, we can know what's coming next.
- 11:56So if you enjoyed this podcast,
- 11:59it would mean so much to me if you left a rating or review.
- 12:02It really is like sprinkling fairy dust and all it takes is a single tap to give
- 12:06this podcast five stars. And if you wanted to leave a review, I mean,
- 12:11that would just be like in a giant bouquet of spring flowers left at my front
- 12:16door.
- 12:17So here's a review that someone left recently that I read probably at least five
- 12:20times. The review goes,
- 12:22"This is the only podcast I listen to consistently. I've engaged with Asia's
- 12:26work for years now and it just gets better and better. She has such a grounded,
- 12:30clearheaded, heartfelt perspective that always keeps me going.
- 12:33Don't miss the monthly readings absolute gems." Thank you
- 12:38so much. And yeah,
- 12:42I'm excited actually for our reading coming up. But in the meantime,
- 12:46if you have any questions,
- 12:49any feedback or just a story you want to share with me personally,
- 12:53head on over to asiasuler.com/remember and you can leave me a voice note.
- 12:58It is such a delight to hear some of your voices and it really helps me craft
- 13:01these episodes.
- 13:04So however this spring or whatever season you are in is unfolding for
- 13:09you, may it hold you,
- 13:10may it give you the mirrors and the reminders that you need that things do
- 13:15unfold in a purposeful direction,
- 13:18that there is meaning that we're moving towards on this planet and may it help
- 13:23you remember that most important thing of all, why you're here.
