- 0:01Speaker 1: Hello and welcome to Outspoken. It's your dose of the
- 0:04Speaker 1: hottest influencer and pop culture news twice a week. I'm
- 0:07Speaker 1: Kate Torber and coming up on today's show. Tammy Hembrough
- 0:11Speaker 1: is slammed by animal activists for cruel tourist act. Olivia
- 0:15Speaker 1: Rogers opens up about her ex moving on. And Jojo
- 0:18Speaker 1: Siwa and Chris Hughes make it official. But first, Meghan
- 0:22Speaker 1: Markle has released unseen footage of herself twerking before labour.
- 0:26Speaker 1: The Duchess of Sussex shared a throwback video of her
- 0:29Speaker 1: and Prince Harry doing the viral baby mama dance. I
- 0:34Speaker 1: first came across this with no sound on it. It
- 0:36Speaker 1: was very early in the morning and I actually thought
- 0:38Speaker 1: that it had been AI generated. I was like, holy fuck,
- 0:42Speaker 1: what is this? Well, we were just talking about it
- 0:44Speaker 1: before and you didn't even know about the trend. So
- 0:46Speaker 1: you were like, what is going on? Because this is
- 0:47Speaker 1: a big trend on TikTok. A lot of women who
- 0:50Speaker 1: are about to give birth. share themselves dancing to this song. See,
- 0:53Speaker 1: I thought that they were just being creative and had
- 0:55Speaker 1: come up with it themselves. I'm like, oh wow, like
- 0:57Speaker 1: that's interesting. I absolutely loved Harry's cameo in it. He
- 1:00Speaker 1: was playing the daggy dad character, wasn't he? And you
- 1:02Speaker 1: could tell that they were both taking the piss out
- 1:04Speaker 1: of themselves, which is what I quite enjoyed because I
- 1:07Speaker 1: think that they've got a lot of flack recently, Meghan
- 1:09Speaker 1: in particular, for taking herself too seriously and trying to
- 1:13Speaker 1: be too perfect. Well, Meghan clearly can't do anything right
- 1:16Speaker 1: because she has been absolutely slammed in the press over
- 1:18Speaker 1: this video. People are saying it's cringe. There's been a
- 1:21Speaker 1: lot of negative commentary on social media. Someone wrote, make
- 1:24Speaker 1: it stop, hashtag cringe. And another said, everything they do
- 1:28Speaker 1: to be relatable is weirdly not relatable. It's bizarre how
- 1:31Speaker 1: they never miss. I think it's evident to anyone who's
- 1:33Speaker 1: listened to this podcast that I'm a big Meghan Markle fan.
- 1:36Speaker 1: But I did cringe when I initially saw this video.
- 1:39Speaker 1: And I just thought, why are they doing this to themselves?
- 1:41Speaker 1: Because they have already faced a lot of criticism for
- 1:44Speaker 1: being hypocritical when it comes to their children's privacy I
- 1:47Speaker 1: mean we've seen the infamous South Park episode where it's
- 1:50Speaker 1: like we want privacy and over the past couple of
- 1:53Speaker 1: days for Lilibet's birthday Megan has shared a number of
- 1:56Speaker 1: photos of her that we've never seen before the first
- 1:59Speaker 1: couple you couldn't really make out her face she then
- 2:02Speaker 1: shared a very cute photo of Harry and Lilibet and
- 2:04Speaker 1: then obviously this most recent clip we've got a real
- 2:08Speaker 1: behind the scenes look into how they were preparing for
- 2:10Speaker 1: labor and whilst I think it's great like I love
- 2:13Speaker 1: seeing all these snippets I just know that people are
- 2:15Speaker 1: going to say well didn't you leave the royal family
- 2:18Speaker 1: so your children could have privacy? Like, why are you
- 2:20Speaker 1: sharing all of this? Yeah, but to defend them here,
- 2:24Speaker 1: they want to be able to control the images they
- 2:26Speaker 1: put out rather than have the press take paparazzi shots
- 2:29Speaker 1: of them. So it's up to them if they want
- 2:31Speaker 1: to release these photos or not. And they obviously felt
- 2:34Speaker 1: safe to do so as well because they were images
- 2:36Speaker 1: of Lilibet when she was a newborn. And obviously now
- 2:39Speaker 1: that she's four years old, she looks very different. I
- 2:41Speaker 1: always find it quite funny to see the creative ways
- 2:44Speaker 1: that celebrities and influencers hide their kids' faces. so that
- 2:47Speaker 1: they can still post these beautiful photos online. They're always
- 2:50Speaker 1: very artistic, aren't they? I found the caption to this
- 2:54Speaker 1: video also quite funny because Megan said, four years ago today,
- 2:58Speaker 1: this also happened. Both of our children were a week
- 3:01Speaker 1: past their due date. So when spicy food, all that
- 3:03Speaker 1: walking and acupuncture didn't work, there was only one thing
- 3:07Speaker 1: left to do. And all I could think about was,
- 3:09Speaker 1: because there's obviously the old wives tale that if you
- 3:12Speaker 1: have sex, it also brings on labor. And I was like,
- 3:14Speaker 1: Did they miss that out or are they trying to
- 3:16Speaker 1: be a bit edgy, like, you know, lead everyone to thinking, well,
- 3:18Speaker 1: did they do that as well? Yeah, I actually had
- 3:20Speaker 1: the same thought. Another thing I couldn't stop thinking about
- 3:24Speaker 1: was whether any staff at this hospital saw them doing
- 3:27Speaker 1: the dance and how many times did they do it
- 3:30Speaker 1: to get it this good? I really want to know
- 3:32Speaker 1: where our listeners stand on this one. Is it cringe
- 3:34Speaker 1: or do you love it? I'm going to put up
- 3:35Speaker 1: a question box on our Instagram story. Tammy Hembrough's work
- 3:54Speaker 1: trip to Egypt is currently under the spotlight. The OG
- 3:58Speaker 1: fitness influencer has been slammed by animal activists for riding
- 4:02Speaker 1: a camel as well as offending locals with her attire.
- 4:05Speaker 1: Before we get into the claims, Kate, can you give
- 4:07Speaker 1: listeners a bit of a background about the trip? Well,
- 4:09Speaker 1: this is a paid gig for Tammy. So she has
- 4:12Speaker 1: teamed up with a travel company called Orventura to host
- 4:15Speaker 1: a group of travelers in Egypt. Now, the company offers
- 4:19Speaker 1: a range of travel packages to different destinations alongside special
- 4:23Speaker 1: trips hosted by influencers and celebrities. And it's not the
- 4:26Speaker 1: first time Tammy has worked with a travel operator. So
- 4:29Speaker 1: last year, she also hosted a trip to Greece. Now,
- 4:33Speaker 1: the big selling point of this trip was that you
- 4:35Speaker 1: were accompanied by Tammy Hembrough as a guide alongside a
- 4:38Speaker 1: trained Egyptologist. We spoke about this trip briefly last week
- 4:42Speaker 1: and about how Tammy Hembrough seemed to form quite a
- 4:45Speaker 1: connection with the rest of the women on the trip.
- 4:47Speaker 1: She actually put up an Instagram story where she tagged
- 4:49Speaker 1: all of them in the post. So as you said, Kate,
- 4:51Speaker 1: the selling point really seems to be that you can
- 4:54Speaker 1: befriend Tammy and you can hang out with her. I mean,
- 4:57Speaker 1: the trip was even advertised as the ancient expedition with
- 5:00Speaker 1: Tammy in Egypt. And this wasn't a cheap trip. It
- 5:04Speaker 1: cost travellers between six and seven thousand Australian dollars, depending
- 5:08Speaker 1: on the room that you stayed in. Now, this week,
- 5:11Speaker 1: photos and videos of Tammy riding a camel emerged on
- 5:15Speaker 1: social media. Tammy didn't upload the images herself, but instead
- 5:19Speaker 1: people spotted her in the background of other travellers' photos. Yeah,
- 5:23Speaker 1: she did share a photo of two camels from the
- 5:26Speaker 1: ride with the pyramids in the background. So She did
- 5:29Speaker 1: acknowledge that she saw camels, just not that she actually
- 5:32Speaker 1: rode one. Now, the camel ride was part of the
- 5:35Speaker 1: planned itinerary, and that has been available on the tour
- 5:38Speaker 1: operator's website from the get-go. On the website, it says,
- 5:42Speaker 1: ride a camel on the high plateau with panoramic views
- 5:45Speaker 1: across the dunes. Now, clearly, this was a planned part
- 5:48Speaker 1: of the trip. Now, animal activist Bailey Nelson, who runs
- 5:53Speaker 1: Instagram account Warrior for Animals, was quick to call Tammy out.
- 5:56Speaker 1: He wrote, I am an animal rights campaigner and am
- 5:59Speaker 1: deeply disappointed Tammy Hembrough rode abused camels. I'm glad the
- 6:03Speaker 1: post has been removed, but more needs to be done
- 6:05Speaker 1: against exploitation in tourism. He also commented on Tammy's post,
- 6:10Speaker 1: I'm politely asking if you can do your bit to
- 6:12Speaker 1: end the exploitation of animals in tourism. I've been supporting
- 6:15Speaker 1: you for a long time, even praising you for advocating
- 6:18Speaker 1: for eating more plant-based foods in 2020, to help the
- 6:21Speaker 1: environment and of course animal welfare. The backlash was very swift.
- 6:25Speaker 1: Tammy's Egypt post received a flurry of angry commenters. One wrote,
- 6:30Speaker 1: how about don't torture animals and don't ride a camel?
- 6:33Speaker 1: Can't believe it's even on the program. Another said, do
- 6:36Speaker 1: you have any idea how they're being treated and how
- 6:38Speaker 1: exhausted they are from moronic tourists exploiting them for no
- 6:42Speaker 1: fucking reason? The fallout resulted in the travel company removing
- 6:46Speaker 1: the activity from their tour. So under Tammy's post, they wrote, update,
- 6:50Speaker 1: we have taken on feedback and removed the camel riding
- 6:53Speaker 1: from our itinerary. They went on to share on their
- 6:56Speaker 1: own Instagram account a statement that read, we want to
- 6:58Speaker 1: acknowledge concerns about the camel riding during our Egypt trip.
- 7:01Speaker 1: While this activity was removed from the official itinerary, it
- 7:05Speaker 1: still occurred. We're actively reviewing what happened and putting into
- 7:08Speaker 1: place a system to ensure this does not happen on
- 7:11Speaker 1: future trips. Thank you for your feedback and accountability. We
- 7:14Speaker 1: learn from this and push forward. But I'm so confused.
- 7:17Speaker 1: They're saying that they removed the activity because it was inappropriate,
- 7:22Speaker 1: but then they're saying that it still occurred. Are they
- 7:23Speaker 1: trying to put blame on the tourists for going ahead
- 7:25Speaker 1: with it? Well, they're not taking accountability at all. I mean,
- 7:28Speaker 1: this is their fault. It's a part of their itinerary.
- 7:30Speaker 1: It's on their bloody website. It's still on their website
- 7:32Speaker 1: that this was a part of the planned itinerary for
- 7:34Speaker 1: the Tammy Hembrough trip. Yeah, it doesn't really make much sense. Now,
- 7:38Speaker 1: when you dig a little bit deeper, the abuse of
- 7:40Speaker 1: animals at Egyptian tourist spots has been in the spotlight
- 7:43Speaker 1: recently following a report published by PETA. So the report
- 7:47Speaker 1: highlighted the cruel conditions working animals are subjected to. It
- 7:51Speaker 1: found camels and horses used for tourist rides are being
- 7:53Speaker 1: beaten and hit on the testicles and denied rest. That
- 7:57Speaker 1: is so disturbing. Camels in particular also suffer from skin
- 8:01Speaker 1: conditions because they're not given adequate vet treatment. And if
- 8:04Speaker 1: that isn't bad enough, when animals become injured or too
- 8:07Speaker 1: old to work, they are left to die behind the pyramids.
- 8:11Speaker 1: PETA actually obtained footage of rotting animal corpses as well
- 8:14Speaker 1: as sick injured animals left to starve. And according to PETA,
- 8:18Speaker 1: police and government officials are complicit in the abuse. So
- 8:22Speaker 1: they allege that police have been intimidating tourists and forcing
- 8:26Speaker 1: them to delete vision of abused animals from their phones.
- 8:29Speaker 1: I'm just so thankful to organisations like PETA for actually
- 8:31Speaker 1: shining a light on this because I was completely unaware
- 8:34Speaker 1: of it myself. And despite the Egyptian government pledging to
- 8:38Speaker 1: end the abuse, nothing has happened so far. They claimed
- 8:41Speaker 1: that they would launch an animal welfare program by 2024,
- 8:44Speaker 1: but that is yet to happen. And PETA has continued
- 8:47Speaker 1: to lobby the Egyptian government to introduce regulations for working
- 8:51Speaker 1: animals within the tourism sector.
- 8:53Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 8:54Speaker 1: And since this report was released, a lot of tour
- 8:56Speaker 1: operators in Egypt have pledged not to offer camel rides
- 8:59Speaker 1: as part of their tours. And this was only in
- 9:02Speaker 1: March this year. So clearly the travel company or venture
- 9:06Speaker 1: that Tammy partnered with did not, and have only just
- 9:09Speaker 1: done it now to save face. Well, that's the thing.
- 9:11Speaker 1: Tammy is copping a lot of blame over this incident,
- 9:14Speaker 1: but I also think it lies with the travel company.
- 9:16Speaker 1: They have literally built a business of selling influencer-run tours.
- 9:21Speaker 1: So they're the ones who are the experts in the industry.
- 9:24Speaker 1: They should really be doing proper research into these locations
- 9:27Speaker 1: before embarking on these sort of trips. I also think
- 9:30Speaker 1: some responsibility does lie with Tammy as well, though, because
- 9:33Speaker 1: if you're going to put your face to a tour
- 9:35Speaker 1: like this, you should do some research and find out
- 9:38Speaker 1: What are the activities? Are these activities ethical? Yeah, well,
- 9:41Speaker 1: I'm a bit dubious to how much of a travel
- 9:43Speaker 1: guide she actually played on this trip. But considering she
- 9:46Speaker 1: was being paid, she should have done her due diligence
- 9:49Speaker 1: and done some research into the itinerary. This was big news.
- 9:53Speaker 1: I mean, again, I have to admit it wasn't something
- 9:55Speaker 1: that I was aware of myself. And I'm very thankful
- 9:58Speaker 1: for organisations like PETA for actually bringing awareness to these issues.
- 10:02Speaker 1: But if I was going to put my name and
- 10:04Speaker 1: face to a tourism activity, I'd do a bit of
- 10:08Speaker 1: research to make sure that it was an ethical one. Well,
- 10:10Speaker 1: even if you're travelling to a country, normally you will
- 10:12Speaker 1: do some research into what's going on there. And particularly
- 10:15Speaker 1: she has admitted that she has quite an interest in Egypt. So... And,
- 10:19Speaker 1: I mean, the Egyptian government is also to blame here.
- 10:21Speaker 1: But as Peter has pointed out, it's tourists who pay
- 10:24Speaker 1: to take horse or camel rides that are keeping these
- 10:27Speaker 1: cruel operations in business. So people really need to reflect
- 10:30Speaker 1: on what they're doing. Now, Tammy's choice of clothing during
- 10:34Speaker 1: her trip has also bothered some of her followers. She
- 10:37Speaker 1: has been called out for not dressing appropriately in the
- 10:40Speaker 1: very conservative Muslim country. In terms of her outfit, she
- 10:44Speaker 1: has posted some glamorous photos of her posing in in
- 10:47Speaker 1: front of tourist sites, and in a few of them,
- 10:50Speaker 1: she wore a headscarf alongside long pants or a skirt.
- 10:54Speaker 1: On top, though, she did wear some tight T-shirts and
- 10:57Speaker 1: also crop tops showing off her midriff. In another photo,
- 11:00Speaker 1: she was wearing a sleeveless dress that showed a bit
- 11:03Speaker 1: of side boob, and there were also some images of
- 11:05Speaker 1: her at the hotel pool swimming in a bikini. Yeah,
- 11:09Speaker 1: and in terms of the rules, it's advised that women
- 11:11Speaker 1: dress conservatively. So while travellers aren't held to the same
- 11:14Speaker 1: standard as local women... It's recommended that they wear loose
- 11:18Speaker 1: fitting clothes that cover at least from your shoulder to
- 11:21Speaker 1: below your knee. It's also recommended to pack long sleeve
- 11:24Speaker 1: shirts to slip over your outfits for more conservative areas.
- 11:27Speaker 1: Is that in the hotel though? Because I think she's
- 11:30Speaker 1: well within her right to wear a bikini in a
- 11:32Speaker 1: hotel pool. Yeah, so she's totally allowed to wear a
- 11:34Speaker 1: bikini at her hotel. There are no dramas there. Why
- 11:37Speaker 1: are people so up in arms about it? It seems
- 11:39Speaker 1: like they're just trying to be highly critical. Oh, well,
- 11:41Speaker 1: they clearly are. I mean, in terms of spots that
- 11:43Speaker 1: you have to follow dress rules, you do have to
- 11:45Speaker 1: wear head coverings in a mosque. So she did do that.
- 11:49Speaker 1: I mean, some of her clothes were probably too tight
- 11:52Speaker 1: for some of the locals. Do you reckon it was
- 11:55Speaker 1: more just like, I noticed the photos, she would have
- 11:57Speaker 1: the headscarf on and she'd try and pull like a
- 11:59Speaker 1: really sexy face. I reckon it's more the poses that
- 12:02Speaker 1: she was doing where people were like, this just feels
- 12:04Speaker 1: a bit wrong. Yeah, well, as we've come to expect
- 12:06Speaker 1: on Instagram, people were very vocal with their opinions. One
- 12:09Speaker 1: person wrote, pretty sure this is cultural appropriation because you're
- 12:12Speaker 1: not wearing that scarf to cover your body. Another said,
- 12:15Speaker 1: a holiday to Egypt or half naked. is possibly one
- 12:17Speaker 1: of the most tone-deaf things I've ever seen. Another person added,
- 12:21Speaker 1: no hate, but I would have thought showing a lot
- 12:23Speaker 1: of skin in a majority Muslim country would have been
- 12:26Speaker 1: considered disrespectful. Now, Tammy responded to that comment saying, we
- 12:29Speaker 1: were told it's fine. People can wear bikinis at beach
- 12:32Speaker 1: slash pools. Now, amid all of this controversy, Tammy is
- 12:35Speaker 1: back home on the Gold Coast with her kids at
- 12:37Speaker 1: the moment. And she's been sharing a lot about a
- 12:40Speaker 1: New Zealand trip she's got coming up with them, asking
- 12:42Speaker 1: for suggestions and explaining that she's going to be taking
- 12:45Speaker 1: her kids there very soon. Again, There is no mention
- 12:48Speaker 1: of her husband, Matt Zukowski, coming on the trip. What
- 12:50Speaker 1: is going on? I just want them to put out
- 12:52Speaker 1: a statement explaining to us that they're not together anymore. Yeah, well,
- 12:56Speaker 1: her music taste is very telling. She uploaded a video
- 12:58Speaker 1: on TikTok of her miming to the Taylor Swift banger
- 13:01Speaker 1: Getaway Car. That is my favourite song. And a bit
- 13:04Speaker 1: of a fun fact, when we went to Taylor's concert
- 13:07Speaker 1: in Melbourne, it was the surprise song. Well, it was
- 13:09Speaker 1: one of the surprise songs. She did a medley. I
- 13:11Speaker 1: was so excited when that started playing. Now, Tammy added
- 13:14Speaker 1: the caption, this song is currently on replay in my head. Now,
- 13:18Speaker 1: I have been trying to keep up with Tammy's Snapchat.
- 13:21Speaker 1: And the other day, she was singing to Get Away
- 13:24Speaker 1: Car in Coles. Now, it disturbs me that Coles has
- 13:26Speaker 1: started playing Taylor Swift because there's this saying that once
- 13:30Speaker 1: you start liking the music in the supermarket, it means
- 13:33Speaker 1: you're old. Anyway, so Tammy was miming to the song
- 13:36Speaker 1: and she was saying how embarrassed her kids were. Let's
- 13:38Speaker 1: throw to what she said. We're driving to get a
- 13:42Speaker 1: wake up. You guys should see how they're both looking
- 13:45Speaker 1: at me right now. Guys, do you like my singing? No.
- 13:50Speaker 1: Sass is like, do you know there's cameras in here?
- 13:53Speaker 1: Because I just started dancing. Look, if I heard Taylor
- 13:58Speaker 1: Swift on at Coles, I think I'd be singing along too.
- 14:01Speaker 1: I found it interesting the bit that she mimed to
- 14:03Speaker 1: on TikTok because it was the bit where it's, I'm
- 14:04Speaker 1: in the getaway car. I left you in the motel bar,
- 14:07Speaker 1: put a money in the bag and stole the key.
- 14:08Speaker 1: That was the last time you ever saw me. Pretty telling.
- 14:12Speaker 1: Talking about Matt Sikowsky, I have been very intrigued by
- 14:15Speaker 1: his podcast co-host Anna McAvoy's strategy when it comes to
- 14:19Speaker 1: sharing about her birth. She uploaded a TikTok and Instagram
- 14:24Speaker 1: reel yesterday where she said it's happening and she was
- 14:28Speaker 1: miming to that viral clip that says we're having a baby.
- 14:31Speaker 1: Fast forward 24 hours, she has uploaded another video where
- 14:36Speaker 1: she does this transition from normal clothes into scrubs and
- 14:39Speaker 1: says we are meeting our son in 30 minutes. And
- 14:43Speaker 1: a lot of people have written in saying, hey, just
- 14:45Speaker 1: heads up, she actually had her son 10 days ago.
- 14:48Speaker 1: Like this is all just being rolled out now. Yeah. Well,
- 14:50Speaker 1: she also dropped that she was having a planned C-section,
- 14:52Speaker 1: hence the timing. I'm thinking, did I do my C-section wrong?
- 14:56Speaker 1: Because I was waiting around for, I don't know, 10
- 14:58Speaker 1: hours to go into the operating theater. Should I have
- 15:00Speaker 1: been filming a bunch of TikToks? Look, it was very
- 15:03Speaker 1: poor form of you to not film TikToks. But I
- 15:06Speaker 1: wonder if she held off from announcing her baby news
- 15:09Speaker 1: because there's been a lot of focus on Steph Clare
- 15:11Speaker 1: Smith's new daughter, Billie, which she announced on Friday last week. Yeah,
- 15:15Speaker 1: I think she's definitely trying to time it when she'll
- 15:17Speaker 1: get most impact. In saying that, we're recording late on
- 15:22Speaker 1: Thursday afternoon. I bet she does it tonight and this
- 15:24Speaker 1: will be old news. 100%.
- 15:27Speaker 2: The Daily Mail loves to use my name in everything
- 15:30Speaker 2: they ever write about him, which I guess is just
- 15:32Speaker 2: part of what I do and my history with him.
- 15:35Speaker 1: Olivia Rogers has opened up about how it feels seeing
- 15:38Speaker 1: her ex-husband, Justin McKeon, move on and start a family
- 15:41Speaker 1: with someone else. The former Miss Universe contestant was undergoing
- 15:45Speaker 1: fertility treatment in the months leading up to the couple's
- 15:48Speaker 1: shock split in October 2022. Soph, I was really surprised
- 15:52Speaker 1: to see Olivia speak about this. Yeah, she's usually pretty
- 15:54Speaker 1: restrained and I'd say respectful when speaking about Justin. I mean,
- 15:58Speaker 1: over the years, she has dropped a few breadcrumbs here
- 16:01Speaker 1: and there and alluded to things that have gone on,
- 16:04Speaker 1: but she's never given a tell-all interview which explicitly says,
- 16:07Speaker 1: I broke up with him for this reason. It does
- 16:10Speaker 1: seem like since it hit the news that he's been
- 16:12Speaker 1: accused of stealing almost half a million dollars from his
- 16:15Speaker 1: former employer. that she has been letting a few more
- 16:18Speaker 1: details fly. Well, yeah, because I think that it's given
- 16:21Speaker 1: everyone an insight into potentially what she was dealing with
- 16:24Speaker 1: behind the scenes. So she hasn't really had to explain
- 16:27Speaker 1: it because everyone's sort of like, oh, I get it now.
- 16:30Speaker 1: It makes sense. Now, she is a bit of a
- 16:33Speaker 1: fiend for Q & A box. And on her podcast
- 16:35Speaker 1: this week, she decided to answer listener questions. I would
- 16:39Speaker 1: have loved to have known how many of these were
- 16:41Speaker 1: about Justin. Yeah, all of them always have to do
- 16:44Speaker 1: with her relationship. I feel like there must have just
- 16:46Speaker 1: been an overwhelming amount and she was like, okay, I've
- 16:49Speaker 1: got to answer it because she ended up answering this question.
- 16:54Speaker 1: How does it feel seeing an ex move on and
- 16:56Speaker 1: start a family when you're not there yet? See, you're
- 17:00Speaker 1: saying that you think she may have been pressured into
- 17:02Speaker 1: it because a lot of people asked. I think she
- 17:04Speaker 1: knows this is good content. I think She knows that
- 17:06Speaker 1: questions like this, she can tease on social media and
- 17:09Speaker 1: get people to listen. I also think it's her story
- 17:12Speaker 1: to share as well. All of these things happen to her.
- 17:16Speaker 1: And as you said, Kat, I think she feels more
- 17:17Speaker 1: comfortable now. People know a bit more about Justin's character
- 17:20Speaker 1: and what was going on behind the scenes. Now, back
- 17:23Speaker 1: in May, we have spoken about how Justin and his on-again,
- 17:26Speaker 1: off-again bachelor girlfriend, Tani Leeson, welcomed their son, Arlo. So
- 17:30Speaker 1: this is obviously what this question is about. And when
- 17:33Speaker 1: that news broke, I think a lot of us thought
- 17:36Speaker 1: about Olivia and how she was feeling because she's always
- 17:39Speaker 1: been pretty vocal about wanting to start a family. And
- 17:42Speaker 1: as you touched on, she was undergoing IVF treatment in
- 17:45Speaker 1: the lead up to the couple's shock separation back in 2022.
- 17:49Speaker 1: And at the time, Olivia said what she was grieving
- 17:51Speaker 1: the most about that relationship Was the loss of the
- 17:54Speaker 1: family life she envisioned happening so soon? Now, before Olivia
- 17:58Speaker 1: answered the question, she prefaced that the only reason she's
- 18:01Speaker 1: willing to open up about it is because she hoped
- 18:04Speaker 1: it may help others who are navigating a similar situation.
- 18:08Speaker 1: And she explained that she generally likes to avoid drama
- 18:11Speaker 1: and headlines when she can and is so sick of
- 18:13Speaker 1: being included in Daily Mail articles about Justin. She did say, though,
- 18:18Speaker 1: that she can understand why they do it because she's
- 18:20Speaker 1: had a history with him. Well, ultimately, he's only getting
- 18:23Speaker 1: attention because of her. Yeah. Now let's have a listen
- 18:25Speaker 1: to how she answered this listener question.
- 18:29Speaker 2: I am happy for my exes moving on. I don't
- 18:35Speaker 2: feel upset when I hear about it or see anything.
- 18:41Speaker 2: And genuinely, I haven't felt negatively about that at all
- 18:48Speaker 2: since we split. I think it really helped me to
- 18:52Speaker 2: know that I had made the right decision because I
- 18:55Speaker 2: never once looked back and thought like, oh, that could
- 18:59Speaker 2: have been me or that should be me. Like I'm
- 19:01Speaker 2: so confident in this decision that I made. Like I
- 19:03Speaker 2: don't think that we were a good fit for each other.
- 19:06Speaker 2: And so I don't think that it would have been
- 19:09Speaker 2: a good idea to have children. And I think it's
- 19:10Speaker 2: really good that we didn't. So I wish them all
- 19:14Speaker 2: the best, but I don't feel sad seeing that.
- 19:19Speaker 1: Very mature response. I wonder if it's got anything to
- 19:22Speaker 1: do with the fact, and I do hate to speculate,
- 19:24Speaker 1: but I follow Tiny Leeson on Instagram and it appears
- 19:28Speaker 1: like Justin is nowhere to be seen. He didn't feature
- 19:31Speaker 1: in the birth announcement. He didn't like it. He didn't
- 19:34Speaker 1: comment on it. Well, she must be feeling like she
- 19:37Speaker 1: dodged an absolute bullet here and that she's so relieved
- 19:41Speaker 1: that she listened to her gut when she did. Olivia
- 19:43Speaker 1: did say that while she wasn't upset by this recent news,
- 19:47Speaker 1: she'd be lying if she didn't admit that over the
- 19:49Speaker 1: years she'd has struggled with not knowing when it's going
- 19:52Speaker 1: to be her turn to have a family and feeling
- 19:54Speaker 1: like she's behind and not at that life stage that
- 19:56Speaker 1: she expected to be in. I also really loved in
- 19:59Speaker 1: this podcast how she shared two excerpts from her diary.
- 20:03Speaker 1: So this was a diary that she was actually keeping
- 20:05Speaker 1: in Bali when she was traveling with her other ex,
- 20:08Speaker 1: Morgan Waterhouse. And she said during the trip, she purchased
- 20:11Speaker 1: a diary because she felt like she was having a
- 20:14Speaker 1: midlife or quarter-life crisis and needed to write down her thoughts.
- 20:18Speaker 1: So this diary entry was dated August 4th, 2023. Let's
- 20:23Speaker 1: have a listen to what she wrote.
- 20:24Speaker 2: Mentally, I've felt pretty good most of the time in Bali.
- 20:29Speaker 2: But I've had my moments, like quite overwhelming moments where
- 20:33Speaker 2: I'm questioning myself, my job, where I'm at in my life, etc.,
- 20:39Speaker 2: I suppose when I reflect on what's happened over the
- 20:41Speaker 2: last year, it's to be expected. This time last year,
- 20:44Speaker 2: I was en route to the USA with my husband
- 20:47Speaker 2: and we had such a rocky trip. Back then, in
- 20:51Speaker 2: a year's time, I definitely pictured myself as a mum, married, settled,
- 20:56Speaker 2: not travelling through Bali for a month. It's wild how
- 21:00Speaker 2: things can change so much. A couple of days later,
- 21:04Speaker 2: I wrote, I've had a great deal of self-doubt lately.
- 21:08Speaker 2: and this fear of aging, fear of not being where
- 21:11Speaker 2: I should be at in my life, e.g. not having kids, etc.
- 21:15Speaker 2: I felt sad when I saw a toddler with his
- 21:17Speaker 2: young parents by the pool today. I find myself wondering
- 21:20Speaker 2: when that will be me. But I also stop myself
- 21:25Speaker 2: and remind myself that what I do have right now
- 21:27Speaker 2: is pretty amazing. Being grateful helps, and I'm focusing on that.
- 21:31Speaker 1: I think it's quite clear that Olivia did a lot
- 21:33Speaker 1: of soul searching on this trip, me being massive snoop
- 21:37Speaker 1: I had to go back and look at her TikTok
- 21:39Speaker 1: to see exactly who she was with on the trip
- 21:42Speaker 1: what she was doing because while she was there with
- 21:44Speaker 1: Morgan Waterhouse she actually spent the first couple of weeks
- 21:47Speaker 1: with her mom and then she did a bit of
- 21:48Speaker 1: solo traveling and it's quite clear that she had a
- 21:51Speaker 1: lot of time to be by herself and reflect and
- 21:55Speaker 1: I potentially think she did a lot of reflection on
- 21:58Speaker 1: her relationship with Morgan because when I looked back at
- 22:01Speaker 1: the dates it That is around the time that he
- 22:04Speaker 1: mysteriously disappeared from her feed, like right after the trip.
- 22:07Speaker 1: So they went to Bali, looked like they had a
- 22:08Speaker 1: great time. And then all of a sudden everyone's like,
- 22:10Speaker 1: where is he? He did a bit of a Matt
- 22:12Speaker 1: Zukowski and disappeared. I was in Bali at a similar
- 22:15Speaker 1: time on my honeymoon and I kept seeing all her
- 22:18Speaker 1: extremely glamorous photos of them doing their little photo shoots.
- 22:22Speaker 1: And I mean, I couldn't even get my husband to
- 22:24Speaker 1: take one photo of me on the trip. And it's
- 22:26Speaker 1: so funny. Because they looked so glamorous and so in
- 22:30Speaker 1: love and everything was perfect. But clearly it wasn't. And
- 22:32Speaker 1: I think this is really great for Olivia to share
- 22:35Speaker 1: what was actually going on behind the scenes. All I
- 22:37Speaker 1: could think too was it was very trusting of her
- 22:39Speaker 1: to write down these deep personal thoughts when she was
- 22:41Speaker 1: on vacation with someone relatively new. I would be worried
- 22:45Speaker 1: that they would go and read it. I mean, maybe
- 22:47Speaker 1: everyone isn't nosy like me and would invade someone's privacy
- 22:50Speaker 1: like that. But, you know, it's pretty brave to leave
- 22:53Speaker 1: that lying around if she did. I wonder if it
- 22:55Speaker 1: was under lock and key. She... also had the foresight
- 22:59Speaker 1: to say that the reason she probably hasn't struggled with
- 23:01Speaker 1: this news as much is because she's in a really
- 23:04Speaker 1: great relationship now and she also feels confident that she's
- 23:08Speaker 1: frozen her eggs. So she did really gush about her
- 23:10Speaker 1: new boyfriend, Hugo. She said that she genuinely thinks she's
- 23:13Speaker 1: found the right person for her to have a family with.
- 23:16Speaker 1: So this has got me really excited. I feel like
- 23:19Speaker 1: we are on engagement watch with this couple and I
- 23:22Speaker 1: for one am ready for another epic Olivia Rogers' wedding.
- 23:25Speaker 1: Hopefully she unblocks us by then because I'd like to
- 23:27Speaker 1: see the photo. Please, Olivia. We're big fans. Dream guest
- 23:32Speaker 1: on my podcast, right? Yeah. Yeah? You answered the question.
- 23:37Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah?
- 23:40Speaker 1: Yeah. What's up with that? After weeks of speculation and
- 23:45Speaker 1: a hell of a lot of soft launching, Jojo Siwa
- 23:48Speaker 1: and Chris Hughes have confirmed they are together. The pair
- 23:51Speaker 1: controversially met on Celebrity Big Brother UK when the former
- 23:55Speaker 1: Dance Moms star was in a relationship with Aussie content
- 23:57Speaker 1: creator Kath Ebbs. Now, so for those who are not
- 24:00Speaker 1: across it, can you bring us quickly up to speed? Well,
- 24:03Speaker 1: as soon as Jojo and Chris met in the UK
- 24:05Speaker 1: Big Brother house, it was clear that they had an
- 24:07Speaker 1: instant connection. And while they did describe their bond as platonic,
- 24:12Speaker 1: there were several incidents that raised concern, not only amongst viewers,
- 24:16Speaker 1: but also their housemates. So in the house, they were
- 24:19Speaker 1: very physically affectionate. There were a lot of cuddles in bed,
- 24:23Speaker 1: massages and head scratches. And this was very early on.
- 24:27Speaker 1: There was also a bit of a weird incident in
- 24:29Speaker 1: the hot tub when Jojo was sitting on Chris's lap
- 24:31Speaker 1: and they were accused of sharing a forehead kiss. I
- 24:34Speaker 1: love how primary school is. They kissed in the forehead.
- 24:37Speaker 1: Another big moment for Jojo on the show was when
- 24:39Speaker 1: she declared she'd come to this realization about her sexuality.
- 24:44Speaker 1: And she said she's always told herself she's a lesbian,
- 24:46Speaker 1: but being in the house made her realise that she's
- 24:49Speaker 1: not a lesbian, she's queer. This was a pretty bold
- 24:52Speaker 1: admission to make when your partner is outside watching on
- 24:56Speaker 1: at home because it was quite clear that this revelation
- 24:59Speaker 1: came because of her growing feelings for Chris. Yeah, and
- 25:03Speaker 1: despite all of these online theories and chat about Chris
- 25:07Speaker 1: and Jojo being more than friends, Kath flew over to
- 25:10Speaker 1: the UK to be by Jojo's side in the finale. However...
- 25:15Speaker 1: Jojo dumped Kath at the wrap party just hours later.
- 25:19Speaker 1: After the show, Jojo and Chris appeared on a couple
- 25:21Speaker 1: of talk shows together and they both continued to toe
- 25:24Speaker 1: this line that nothing was going on and that their
- 25:26Speaker 1: relationship was platonic. And they kept saying that they had
- 25:30Speaker 1: a soulmate friendship, which was a bit wanky. I was like,
- 25:33Speaker 1: what do you mean? You just clearly have the hots
- 25:35Speaker 1: for each other. It just annoyed me because it's like
- 25:38Speaker 1: you clearly dumped your partner to be with this guy.
- 25:41Speaker 1: At least be honest about it. Yeah, and- All this
- 25:44Speaker 1: breadcrumbing of their relationship, like Jojo's been posting all these
- 25:47Speaker 1: photos of her FaceTiming Chris and suddenly she likes drinking
- 25:51Speaker 1: English tea and her new favourite meal is spaghetti hoops,
- 25:54Speaker 1: which is what Chris likes. And also the way she
- 25:56Speaker 1: keeps calling him Christopher. Sweet Christopher. Is it because it's
- 26:01Speaker 1: like I know him better because I call him his
- 26:03Speaker 1: real name? Or is it because... He's from the UK
- 26:06Speaker 1: and she thinks it kind of sounds more sophisticated. Well,
- 26:08Speaker 1: I think it probably started off as a flirtatious thing
- 26:10Speaker 1: where you, you know, oh, Christopher. I have to say,
- 26:13Speaker 1: I've actually become quite a big fan of Jojo. I
- 26:15Speaker 1: didn't really like her before, but I like Joelle. So
- 26:17Speaker 1: Joelle is her UK personality. She's a bit more earnest
- 26:21Speaker 1: and down to earth. And I don't know why, but
- 26:24Speaker 1: I'm actually shipping this relationship, even though I feel so
- 26:26Speaker 1: sorry for Kath. I think it's because you didn't watch
- 26:29Speaker 1: Love Island and you don't know who Chris Hughes is.
- 26:33Speaker 1: Not that he was unlikable on the show. I really
- 26:35Speaker 1: liked him. But he sounds like a bit of a
- 26:36Speaker 1: clout chaser, if anything. Yeah, he's a clout chaser. I mean,
- 26:40Speaker 1: he's been with that girl from Little Mix. What was it,
- 26:42Speaker 1: Jessie from Little Mix? Olivia Atwood. Yeah, he's been with
- 26:46Speaker 1: a lot of high-profile women. And Jojo Siwa is not
- 26:49Speaker 1: his typical type. I have seen people on TikTok saying,
- 26:52Speaker 1: can you imagine if Jojo Siwa popped up on his
- 26:55Speaker 1: series of Love Island? Or she was a child then. Yeah,
- 26:58Speaker 1: but if she was the same age– Would he be
- 27:01Speaker 1: taking her to the fire pit to have a chat? No,
- 27:04Speaker 1: he wouldn't. We don't know. I mean, they might have
- 27:07Speaker 1: clicked on this personality level that we're not deep enough
- 27:10Speaker 1: to get. We don't think Chris Hughes is interested in
- 27:12Speaker 1: the amount of followers that she has and now he's
- 27:14Speaker 1: an international name. Well, last week they looked like they
- 27:17Speaker 1: were getting very cosy because Jojo returned to the UK
- 27:20Speaker 1: to perform a series of shows there and they both
- 27:23Speaker 1: uploaded a ton of photos with their arms wrapped around
- 27:27Speaker 1: each other and they Jojo shared that Chris got her
- 27:30Speaker 1: all of these little birthday presents and Jojo took it
- 27:33Speaker 1: a step further when she performed the cover of Betty
- 27:35Speaker 1: Davis Eyes for her UK fans and she changed the
- 27:38Speaker 1: lyrics to say Chris Hughes Eyes. We actually spoke about
- 27:42Speaker 1: this on the subs episode last week. Again, it's all
- 27:45Speaker 1: so performative and intention-seeking. Yeah, a lot of people are
- 27:49Speaker 1: thinking that this is a publicity stunt and on Sunday,
- 27:53Speaker 1: Chris all but confirmed their relationship. with a photo that
- 27:56Speaker 1: he shared to Snapchat. So it was kind of this
- 27:59Speaker 1: seedy looking blurred photo where Jojo was lying across his
- 28:03Speaker 1: chest in bed and he was shirtless and she was
- 28:06Speaker 1: sort of pretending to be asleep, which everyone was like,
- 28:09Speaker 1: oh my God. And he captioned the photo, Sleeping Beauty.
- 28:12Speaker 1: It's just so attention seeking, isn't it? Did you see
- 28:15Speaker 1: people said it looked like a newborn shoe? Maybe because
- 28:19Speaker 1: of the age gap. But a few days later, during
- 28:21Speaker 1: an interview with The Guardian, Jojo finally confirmed the news.
- 28:25Speaker 1: So she was straight up asked by a journo whether
- 28:27Speaker 1: the relationship was romantic or platonic. And after what the
- 28:32Speaker 1: journalist said was a full 20 seconds of silent grinning,
- 28:35Speaker 1: Jojo said she is currently dating Chris, who she refers
- 28:38Speaker 1: to as sweet Christopher. She said, it's not platonic anymore
- 28:42Speaker 1: and it's been a beautiful development, a beautiful connection and
- 28:45Speaker 1: I'm absolutely head over heels for him and he's the
- 28:48Speaker 1: same way. A bit awkward to be like, oh, he's
- 28:51Speaker 1: head over heels for me. I think she's saying that though,
- 28:53Speaker 1: because a lot of the commentary has been that he
- 28:56Speaker 1: looks like he's trapped and he's fucked up. Yeah, I
- 28:59Speaker 1: have seen those comments online. Now, when asked if this
- 29:02Speaker 1: was all for press attention, Jojo said, clearly you've never
- 29:05Speaker 1: been around us. I won't speak for him, but for
- 29:08Speaker 1: me personally, the happiness in my life just radiates off
- 29:11Speaker 1: me right now. Literally yesterday, I was massaging my cheeks.
- 29:14Speaker 1: I've never been in pain from smiling so much. Kate,
- 29:17Speaker 1: I want to know, have you ever been in a
- 29:18Speaker 1: relationship where your cheeks were so sore from smiling? I
- 29:21Speaker 1: remember when I started dating Rhys that I was pretty
- 29:25Speaker 1: happy with myself because we started with a platonic friendship
- 29:28Speaker 1: as well. So maybe it's when you've known the person
- 29:31Speaker 1: and finally you get to be with them. So you
- 29:33Speaker 1: actually were having to massage your cheeks because you were
- 29:36Speaker 1: smiling that much? No, I wasn't, but I was genuinely
- 29:38Speaker 1: pretty thrilled about it. Yeah, I know, but I'm just
- 29:40Speaker 1: saying like the performance of it all because I've actually
- 29:43Speaker 1: seen her when she was performing on stage and I
- 29:45Speaker 1: think it was when she did the whole Chris Hughes
- 29:47Speaker 1: eyes thing. There's a clip of her actually massaging her
- 29:51Speaker 1: cheeks because Chris was in the crowd and just saying,
- 29:53Speaker 1: I'm just so happy. I don't know, to me, is
- 29:55Speaker 1: that a bit much? This is how girls of this
- 29:57Speaker 1: age act. They get head over heels. Rush into this relationship.
- 30:01Speaker 1: I mean, I don't know how logistically it's going to work.
- 30:03Speaker 1: He's a 32-year-old English guy. Well, there's been a lot
- 30:07Speaker 1: of discussion about this age gap between them and also
- 30:10Speaker 1: debate about how much Chris knew about Jojo's music career
- 30:14Speaker 1: before they met because a lot of people have called
- 30:17Speaker 1: him opportunistic. But others have pointed out that because he
- 30:20Speaker 1: doesn't really fit into her Gen Z demographic, maybe he
- 30:24Speaker 1: was unaware of her public persona because I kept seeing
- 30:27Speaker 1: all these TikToks where people are like, The second he
- 30:29Speaker 1: gets out of the house and sees the karma clip,
- 30:31Speaker 1: he's like, holy fuck. I hardly think he was being
- 30:35Speaker 1: strategic about it. She literally entered the house as a
- 30:38Speaker 1: lesbian with a partner. I mean, you'd have to have
- 30:40Speaker 1: pretty big tickets on yourself to think, oh yeah, I'll
- 30:42Speaker 1: win her over. That being said, Kath dropped a pretty
- 30:45Speaker 1: interesting insight on their podcast. They were interviewed by Claire
- 30:49Speaker 1: Stevens and they revealed that before Jojo went into the house...
- 30:54Speaker 1: they actually mentioned the whole Drew and Tully scenario, which
- 30:59Speaker 1: Tully entered the house in a relationship with a woman
- 31:03Speaker 1: and then obviously she cheated with Drew. And the fact
- 31:07Speaker 1: that Jojo actually knew about it, I was like, isn't
- 31:10Speaker 1: that bizarre? It is bizarre, but do I think that
- 31:12Speaker 1: she purposely carried it out to get attention? No. No.
- 31:16Speaker 1: I think she genuinely really likes Chris. I think that
- 31:20Speaker 1: there's a genuine connection there. Well, Jojo's had a pretty
- 31:23Speaker 1: good test for Chris to see if he's in this
- 31:25Speaker 1: for the long haul and whether he is getting cringed
- 31:27Speaker 1: out by some of her behaviour because she decided to
- 31:30Speaker 1: show him a viral clip that has been haunting her
- 31:33Speaker 1: for over a year now. So in the clip, Jojo
- 31:36Speaker 1: is being interviewed on the red carpet and she's wearing
- 31:39Speaker 1: face paint, which resembles what the guys from KISS wear.
- 31:43Speaker 1: Let's have a listen to what she said in the interview.
- 31:47Speaker 1: Green guest on my podcast? Oh, my gosh. I mean... Honestly,
- 31:52Speaker 1: let's fight things out. One of my exes. I actually
- 31:55Speaker 1: had to watch this a few times to get it
- 31:57Speaker 1: because it wasn't obvious to me. I had to read
- 31:59Speaker 1: the comments. And basically people were ripping into her because
- 32:05Speaker 1: she thought what she responded was really funny and kind
- 32:08Speaker 1: of stepped back to be like, oh, wow. And it wasn't. Well,
- 32:12Speaker 1: I think because she said it so enthusiastically, dream guest
- 32:14Speaker 1: on my podcast. And I think it was also down
- 32:17Speaker 1: to what she was wearing. Now, someone else who was
- 32:20Speaker 1: confused by this clip was Chris Hughes. Let's have a
- 32:22Speaker 1: listen to what he said about it. I don't get it.
- 32:32Speaker 1: I don't get it. Perfect. Dream guest on my podcast, right?
- 32:41Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 32:42Speaker 1: Yeah. You answered the question. Yeah.
- 32:45Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah.
- 32:48Speaker 1: What's up with that? Um, you know, just my voice
- 32:51Speaker 1: and what I look like. People just love to pick
- 32:53Speaker 1: on me. But that is your voice, though. Yeah. When
- 32:56Speaker 1: you get into something, your voice does go raspy.
- 33:03Speaker 2: Can you try to say Dream Guest on my podcast
- 33:05Speaker 2: the way that I did in that video?
- 33:07Speaker 1: Dream Guest on my podcast? Yeah. Dream Guest on my podcast?
- 33:18Speaker 1: What do you think of that? Is it a Halloween thing? No.
- 33:23Speaker 2: The thing?
- 33:24Speaker 1: No. That wasn't Halloween? No. Nice, though.
- 33:28Speaker 2: I like it. Thank you, bub.
- 33:30Speaker 1: It's different.
- 33:31Speaker 2: I like it. Thank you.
- 33:33Speaker 1: That's what I looked like in the Karma music video. Oh, yeah.
- 33:36Speaker 1: So you were just doing that. Yeah, that's good, though. Yeah.
- 33:40Speaker 1: I like it on your chin. It goes from your
- 33:42Speaker 1: chin down through your chest. Drink it. That's the one. Oh, God.
- 33:50Speaker 1: I don't get what the issue is. Yeah, I didn't either,
- 33:54Speaker 1: but the world had a lot of fun with it.
- 33:56Speaker 1: Did they?
- 33:57Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 33:58Speaker 1: He sounded so cute. Like, I can see why she's
- 34:01Speaker 1: into him. Like, his response was very darling. Yeah, I
- 34:05Speaker 1: feel like he answered it so diplomatically. That shows someone
- 34:07Speaker 1: who is in their 30s, who's tuned a lot of
- 34:10Speaker 1: girls before. Well, it would give you the ick, though,
- 34:12Speaker 1: wouldn't it? Oh, I love how he's like, I like
- 34:15Speaker 1: that little thing on your chin. Like that looks good.
- 34:17Speaker 1: Like he's probably just thinking, what the fuck is this?
- 34:20Speaker 1: How have I got myself here? I've just been thinking
- 34:23Speaker 1: about poor Kath in all of this and how they're
- 34:26Speaker 1: faring because in their recent podcast, it was recorded when
- 34:31Speaker 1: they still believed that this relationship was platonic and nothing
- 34:34Speaker 1: was going on. This week, Kath did share a TikTok
- 34:38Speaker 1: of them dancing with text over the top that said,
- 34:40Speaker 1: shaking my ass instead of crashing the fuck out. And
- 34:43Speaker 1: then captioned the post, happy pride month. Now followers were
- 34:47Speaker 1: quick to assume that Kath was taking a swipe at Jojo.
- 34:50Speaker 1: So one user wrote, or perhaps move on, she has.
- 34:54Speaker 1: To which Kath responded, I think it's time you move on,
- 34:57Speaker 1: I have. Another said, I'm happy for Jojo. To which
- 35:00Speaker 1: Kath said, same, this has nothing to do with her
- 35:02Speaker 1: wishing them the best. This is very layered. And I
- 35:06Speaker 1: agree with what Kath said in their podcast. If their
- 35:09Speaker 1: relationship with Jojo was a heterosexual one, then Jojo would
- 35:14Speaker 1: have been the villain. And Chris would have been painted
- 35:17Speaker 1: as a homewrecker. Yeah. Whereas because Jojo was in a
- 35:20Speaker 1: lesbian relationship, people were like, oh, well, you know, she's
- 35:24Speaker 1: seen the light. She wants a man. Like that's exactly
- 35:27Speaker 1: what people are viewing this as. The commentary has been
- 35:30Speaker 1: repulsive online. Like I don't even want to repeat some
- 35:34Speaker 1: of the things that have been said, but it's, oh, yeah.
- 35:37Speaker 1: You know, she's had a factory reset now. Like it's
- 35:39Speaker 1: absolutely appalling. And I can't believe in this day and
- 35:41Speaker 1: age people actually share that opinion. And then people try
- 35:44Speaker 1: and make excuses like, oh, they were only together for
- 35:46Speaker 1: a couple of months. It's like, so what? This was
- 35:49Speaker 1: a legitimate relationship. One person has emotionally cheated. And while
- 35:52Speaker 1: I don't think it's fair to have some witch hunt,
- 35:55Speaker 1: I do think, though, we should have some sympathy for Kath,
- 35:58Speaker 1: who was mourning their relationship. You can also see from
- 36:01Speaker 1: the way that Jojo is with Chris, she goes from
- 36:04Speaker 1: zero to 100 very quickly. Yeah, she seems like a
- 36:07Speaker 1: bit of a love bomber. I'm guessing maybe she was
- 36:09Speaker 1: like that with Kath Ebbs as well. Let's get into
- 36:12Speaker 1: our Friday debrief. And it's been a big week for
- 36:15Speaker 1: me as a mum because Jack took his first steps.
- 36:18Speaker 1: So on Wednesday night, we always have family dinner at
- 36:21Speaker 1: my parents' house. And he'd kind of been standing up
- 36:25Speaker 1: and kind of going back and forth on one foot.
- 36:28Speaker 1: And I was like, he's so close, he's going to
- 36:30Speaker 1: do it. So he actually ended up walking towards Amy.
- 36:33Speaker 1: Amy had a soft toy penguin in front of her
- 36:35Speaker 1: and coaxed him across whilst I was filming. And it
- 36:38Speaker 1: was just such a magical moment. Everyone was so proud
- 36:41Speaker 1: and cheering him on and he looked so impressed with himself.
- 36:45Speaker 1: It was so exciting and I love that we actually
- 36:47Speaker 1: captured it on video. I feel like we've always got
- 36:49Speaker 1: our cameras rolling because you also got a moment of
- 36:53Speaker 1: him pulling Harry's dummy out and Harry just looking so shocked. Oh,
- 36:57Speaker 1: it was so funny because he did it the other day.
- 37:00Speaker 1: Amy greeted us at the door and it was like
- 37:02Speaker 1: Jack was like, yank, thank you. And it was like
- 37:05Speaker 1: pop out of his mouth. But at least he did
- 37:07Speaker 1: say ta. It's very polite. I honestly feel this week
- 37:11Speaker 1: like time is going so quickly. I think it's because
- 37:14Speaker 1: I officially received my C-section date. And there is a
- 37:19Speaker 1: bit of a story behind it, but we'll probably share
- 37:22Speaker 1: about that once the baby is born because it's quite funny.
- 37:25Speaker 1: But yeah, it's just all feeling more real now that
- 37:28Speaker 1: I can count down the days. And I think it's
- 37:31Speaker 1: scary also because we're like, fuck, like Amy's going to
- 37:35Speaker 1: have to come back. I'm going to go and leave.
- 37:37Speaker 1: Like it's all becoming more real. You've only just got
- 37:39Speaker 1: into this routine of going to your house. Now I'm like,
- 37:41Speaker 1: I'm going to be back recording with Amy. Michelle Andrews
- 37:44Speaker 1: from Shameless is filling me with a bit of confidence
- 37:46Speaker 1: because she's returned three weeks postpartum on the podcast. And
- 37:49Speaker 1: I'm like, maybe I can come back that quickly too. Well,
- 37:52Speaker 1: I don't want to burst your bubble or anything, but
- 37:54Speaker 1: she was missing from the next one and Annabelle Lee
- 37:56Speaker 1: had to step in. I think someone was sick or something. Well,
- 37:59Speaker 1: she was back Thursday. So, I mean, good on her. Like,
- 38:02Speaker 1: it's pretty amazing she's been able to come back. She's
- 38:04Speaker 1: had so much going on. I think we'll be able
- 38:06Speaker 1: to come back and record a little bit because to
- 38:07Speaker 1: break down the fourth wall, The recording bit is the
- 38:10Speaker 1: easy bit. Like it's the research, doing the run sheet, editing,
- 38:14Speaker 1: you know, doing all the extra work outside of actually recording.
- 38:17Speaker 1: That's the tough bit. Do you know what's thrown me?
- 38:19Speaker 1: That we have a long weekend coming up. So it
- 38:21Speaker 1: is the King's birthday and I want to put it
- 38:24Speaker 1: out there. We are going to be releasing our final
- 38:26Speaker 1: installment of our Sarah's Day deep dive. We've had so
- 38:29Speaker 1: many DMs asking when is the last installment coming out?
- 38:32Speaker 1: Probably not the best timing after the fact that we
- 38:35Speaker 1: got four Tuesdays episode. Look, there were a lot of
- 38:38Speaker 1: opinions out there. Clearly, our opinion wasn't in the majority. Look,
- 38:42Speaker 1: I remember saying during that segment that Sarah's Day was
- 38:44Speaker 1: quite aware of how many feathers she was going to ruffle.
- 38:47Speaker 1: I didn't realize my opinion would come across as so controversial,
- 38:51Speaker 1: but evidently it did. Yeah, well, I think that's what
- 38:53Speaker 1: it's all about, having an opinion podcast. You're not always
- 38:56Speaker 1: going to align with listeners' opinions. And I think that's
- 38:58Speaker 1: what makes it enjoyable. People sharing their opinion. I really
- 39:01Speaker 1: enjoyed reading the group discussion because like, oh, a lot
- 39:05Speaker 1: of people that send their kids to school actually are like, no,
- 39:07Speaker 1: holidays are more important. That's the thing. I mean, people
- 39:10Speaker 1: did point out that we're obviously not at that life
- 39:12Speaker 1: stage where we're sending kids to school. So we're not
- 39:15Speaker 1: school mums ourselves. No, I'll probably be thinking, oh, okay,
- 39:18Speaker 1: I might take them on holidays during the term. Well,
- 39:20Speaker 1: the thing that I also found really interesting in the
- 39:23Speaker 1: Facebook discussion in our group was a lot of people
- 39:26Speaker 1: saying that different states have different rules in terms of
- 39:29Speaker 1: when kids start school. So for us in South Australia,
- 39:32Speaker 1: most kids start school the year that they turn five.
- 39:35Speaker 1: So that's why we were saying that we were quite
- 39:37Speaker 1: surprised that Fox started at six. We've since had parents
- 39:40Speaker 1: writing in saying that most of their kids do start
- 39:43Speaker 1: school at six. And it's really important for boys in
- 39:46Speaker 1: particular to reach a maturity level where they feel confident
- 39:50Speaker 1: and able to start. So it did open up some
- 39:52Speaker 1: interesting discussions and points of view that I wasn't across. Yeah,
- 39:55Speaker 1: I learned a lot about it and found it really
- 39:56Speaker 1: helpful considering I have a son. And I was like, God,
- 39:59Speaker 1: when is he going to school? Yeah, we were doing
- 40:01Speaker 1: the sums because with our kids being around a year apart,
- 40:04Speaker 1: we were like, hold on a second. So Harry could
- 40:07Speaker 1: go to school with my son or he could go
- 40:09Speaker 1: to school with Jack. So we were trying to do
- 40:11Speaker 1: the math. It's a shame it's not our sons that
- 40:14Speaker 1: are going in the same year because we live close by.
- 40:16Speaker 1: Like we could have shared the pick up and drop offs.
- 40:18Speaker 1: It's probably good for them. We can still do that.
- 40:20Speaker 1: They've just been different classes. Anyway, we hope you have
- 40:23Speaker 1: an amazing long weekend. And thank you so much again
- 40:26Speaker 1: for listening to Outspoken. We do really appreciate the support.
- 40:29Speaker 1: If you do want to help us out, we would
- 40:31Speaker 1: love it if you could leave us a review and
- 40:32Speaker 1: make sure you're subscribed on Apple Podcasts and Spotify. This
- 40:36Speaker 1: episode was recorded on the traditional land of the Kaurna
- 40:39Speaker 1: people of the Adelaide Plains. We pay respect to elders
- 40:41Speaker 1: past and present.
