- 0:00Speaker 1: Colin Fugg, what do we need to know today?
- 0:03Speaker 2: So you may notice something a little different the next
- 0:05Speaker 2: time you hand your ID to TSA. TSA says they
- 0:09Speaker 2: are removing chairs used by officers checking your IDs at
- 0:13Speaker 2: the airport and security checkpoints nationwide, meaning those officers now
- 0:17Speaker 2: have to stand while processing passengers. The agency says the
- 0:20Speaker 2: change is intended to make officers more engaged and improve
- 0:24Speaker 2: their interactions with travelers, although the move is already drawing
- 0:26Speaker 2: criticism over requiring employees to just stand for those long shifts.
- 0:30Speaker 2: So what might happen is they want their employees to
- 0:35Speaker 2: be more engaged with you, but their employees are probably
- 0:37Speaker 2: going to be in a bad mood because their feet
- 0:38Speaker 2: hurt now. So I kind of feel bad about that
- 0:40Speaker 2: because that's a long time to stand. Everybody's already a
- 0:44Speaker 2: little kind of freaked out about what these super powerful
- 0:47Speaker 2: AI bots are capable of. In fact, the FTC just
- 0:50Speaker 2: launched an investigation basically asking, okay, are these AI bots
- 0:54Speaker 2: getting a little too powerful? Like, do we just let
- 0:57Speaker 2: them run around and do things on their own?
- 0:59Speaker 1: Dude, that video you posted of the robot running? I know,
- 1:01Speaker 1: running away? Yeah. And like hopping a fence?
- 1:03Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, I know.
- 1:04Speaker 1: I was like, did you see the video she posted?
- 1:05Speaker 2: This is terrifying.
- 1:07Speaker 1: I was like, what? This can't be real.
- 1:08Speaker 2: Yeah, no.
- 1:09Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:09Speaker 2: So, I mean, the AI robots, the AI bots, they're
- 1:13Speaker 2: all like open AI is one of the big ones.
- 1:15Speaker 2: That's ChatGPT and that's one of the big companies that's
- 1:18Speaker 2: getting investigated. And they actually just introduced their new always
- 1:22Speaker 2: on AI assistant yesterday called DOTS. So, right. Like when
- 1:26Speaker 2: you log into Instagram, it's like, here's Muse. That's their
- 1:30Speaker 2: new AI always on assistant. And then open AI is
- 1:33Speaker 2: like competition for that is dots. And they have like
- 1:36Speaker 2: a cute little logo guy for it too.
- 1:39Speaker 1: But what I.
- 1:40Speaker 2: Find kind of hilarious is users or people online. Realized
- 1:46Speaker 2: pretty much immediately that if you type in dot.com, which
- 1:50Speaker 2: may be a website they might use for dots, right?
- 1:53Speaker 2: It immediately takes you to Elon Musk's version of his
- 1:57Speaker 2: always on AI chat bot. And everyone's like, did he
- 2:00Speaker 2: seriously just spend probably quite a bit of money to
- 2:07Speaker 2: troll open AI's bots?
- 2:10Speaker 3: Because it's like, uh, That is such an Elon Musk
- 2:14Speaker 3: thing to do.
- 2:14Speaker 1: You can't even put it past him.
- 2:16Speaker 2: Oh, that's actually... I mean, if he did do that,
- 2:18Speaker 2: that's kind of funny.
- 2:19Speaker 1: Did you see them all together at the White House
- 2:21Speaker 1: yesterday having lunch with the press?
- 2:23Speaker 3: No, I did not see that.
- 2:23Speaker 1: And they're like, we're going to call it SI now.
- 2:25Speaker 1: Super intelligence. Not AI. Not artificial.
- 2:27Speaker 2: And they're... They were there basically warning him that AI
- 2:31Speaker 2: could be the end of humanity.
- 2:32Speaker 1: So we need to get this under control. We should
- 2:34Speaker 1: regulate ourselves.
- 2:35Speaker 3: That was like a, hey, let's pay attention to this.
- 2:38Speaker 2: That was like a, hey, all of us invented this
- 2:41Speaker 2: and we know how dangerous it could potentially be, which
- 2:43Speaker 2: is why the FTC then launched that investigation.
- 2:45Speaker 3: We've seen this movie.
- 2:46Speaker 1: I know. We're going to call it SI, so it's
- 2:48Speaker 1: not as dangerous. We got the best.
- 2:51Speaker 2: What were we thinking?
- 2:53Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 2:53Speaker 3: Okay.
- 2:54Speaker 2: The Barbie drug tanning trend is getting a new warning.
- 2:57Speaker 2: John Jay, I feel like this is going to hit
- 2:59Speaker 2: you pretty hard. Health experts are warning about the growing
- 3:02Speaker 2: social media popularity of melatonin 2. This has been nicknamed
- 3:07Speaker 2: the Barbie drug.
- 3:08Speaker 1: We're through the way.
- 3:09Speaker 2: It is an unapproved synthetic peptide that people are using
- 3:12Speaker 2: to tan their skin without traditional tanning. The FDA hasn't
- 3:16Speaker 2: approved it, and medical experts are saying these products bought
- 3:20Speaker 2: online can have unknown ingredients and potentially serious side effects,
- 3:23Speaker 2: and some people are actually getting sick from it.
- 3:25Speaker 3: Yeah, that one specifically made me really sick. Like, I
- 3:28Speaker 3: was down bad for, like, two days.
- 3:30Speaker 1: I was, I mean, and I'm black.
- 3:32Speaker 3: I don't know why I was taking a tan peptide,
- 3:34Speaker 3: but I just wanted to see it.
- 3:35Speaker 2: Because you were like, I could use a little melanin.
- 3:37Speaker 3: I was like, it's the wintertime.
- 3:38Speaker 2: I guess I could use a little bit more color.
- 3:40Speaker 1: This friend of mine takes it, and it's a weird
- 3:42Speaker 1: color on him.
- 3:42Speaker 3: Yes, my mom was taking it, too, and I literally
- 3:45Speaker 3: told her, I was like, girl, you got to stop.
- 3:47Speaker 3: You're looking green.
- 3:48Speaker 1: Green? Yeah. She's taking the wrong one. Yeah, exactly.
- 3:51Speaker 2: In any case, just know you don't know where that
- 3:53Speaker 2: stuff's coming from, so just be really careful with it.
- 3:55Speaker 2: The Cardinals head east to play the Giants on Sunday,
- 3:57Speaker 2: which means we are back to the wonderfully weird Arizona
- 4:00Speaker 2: tradition of football starting while people are still eating breakfast.
- 4:03Speaker 2: So just know if you wanted to tune in, it's
- 4:05Speaker 2: going to be an earlier game. Also, the State Fair,
- 4:09Speaker 2: it opens tomorrow. Tomorrow is the very first day, and
- 4:11Speaker 2: then Friday. The state fair offers $ 5 tasting portions every
- 4:16Speaker 2: Friday in October. So $ 5 food is Friday, which the.
- 4:20Speaker 1: Fair food is the best. It's the best.
- 4:21Speaker 3: And truthfully, like I've done that before and I know
- 4:24Speaker 3: it's hot like during the day, but the lines are
- 4:26Speaker 3: so much shorter.
- 4:27Speaker 2: So if you can handle it, go. Our weather is
- 4:31Speaker 2: going to be pretty awesome. They say, I think we're
- 4:33Speaker 2: not going to go above a hundred or something like that.
- 4:35Speaker 2: So it's going to be a really great fair season.
- 4:37Speaker 2: And that's what you need to know.
- 4:39Speaker 3: It's the end of the month.
- 4:41Speaker 1: It's the end of the month. Somebody wake up Green Day.
- 4:43Speaker 2: September's over.
- 4:44Speaker 1: Green Day. Green Day. Wake me up when September ends.
- 4:51Speaker 1: It's the end of the month, and I was supposed
- 4:53Speaker 1: to let somebody go by the end of the month.
- 4:55Speaker 2: But we're going to break up in September anyway.
- 4:57Speaker 1: It's over. What?
- 4:58Speaker 3: It's over.
- 4:58Speaker 1: No, that's not right. No, that's not right. We only
- 5:00Speaker 1: just beginning. We have a show to do. You are
- 5:03Speaker 1: live and on the air. I guess this is the
- 5:07Speaker 1: only time you can really play this song and talk
- 5:08Speaker 1: about it. Tomorrow's October 1st. There's no really good October
- 5:12Speaker 1: 1st songs, are there? Today's the last day of September.
- 5:15Speaker 1: It's perfect for my alarm clock. My alarm clock, it's
- 5:18Speaker 1: only once a year. It's my Green Day alarm clock.
- 5:22Speaker 2: Wake me up when September ends.
- 5:29Speaker 3: It's over.
- 5:30Speaker 1: What? It's over. It is over. Is that it?
- 5:33Speaker 3: That's it.
- 5:34Speaker 1: That's my alarm clock. Do you remember the other day
- 5:36Speaker 1: I was talking, so I'm going to go see Ella
- 5:38Speaker 1: Langley in Los Angeles and I'm becoming a big fan
- 5:42Speaker 1: of hers. And I was talking about the song Choosing
- 5:44Speaker 1: Texas and I was like, I mumbled and I said,
- 5:47Speaker 1: we should do Choosing to Text Us. Yeah. Was that
- 5:49Speaker 1: on the air or off the air? That was on
- 5:50Speaker 1: the air.
- 5:51Speaker 3: Well, guess what?
- 5:51Speaker 1: Rich got it done.
- 5:52Speaker 3: All right, Rich.
- 5:54Speaker 1: Here's Choosing to Text.
- 5:59Speaker 3: Us.
- 6:00Speaker 2: You can choose to text us on your telephone.
- 6:05Speaker 3: Putting in these numbers.
- 6:07Speaker 2: 96893 followed by JJR. And then your message.
- 6:17Speaker 3: We might read it on the air. I'll call you back.
- 6:23Speaker 3: We're gonna have some fun. You can choose to text us.
- 6:31Speaker 3: On your telephone.
- 6:32Speaker 1: That's our friend, Della. Della Langley. She's real good. You
- 6:36Speaker 1: can choose to text us, and then I think the
- 6:38Speaker 1: line should be something like, or call. You know what
- 6:43Speaker 1: I mean? Yeah, text us on your telephone, of course.
- 6:44Speaker 1: That's a given.
- 6:45Speaker 2: Also, good job getting that done, Rich.
- 6:48Speaker 1: I said that to him. I said that, but I
- 6:50Speaker 1: feel like it's a, you can choose to call. You
- 6:52Speaker 1: want me to send Della Langley back in the studio?
- 6:54Speaker 1: Redo it a little bit? Yeah, get Della back just
- 6:56Speaker 1: to cut that last line.
