- 0:01Welcome to Rick and That Michelle Chick, the weekly
- 0:05podcast where your hosts, Rick and Michelle, confidently dive
- 0:10into topics they know absolutely nothing about and somehow make
- 0:15it sound legit. They're not experts.
- 0:17They're not qualified. Honestly, they barely googled
- 0:20it. So grab a drink, lower your
- 0:23expectations, and let's pretend this counts as content.
- 0:28So buckle up. Facts are optional, but the
- 0:31bullshit? That's premium grade.
- 0:34This is Rick and that Michelle chick.
- 0:41Before we jump into stuff, my friend Risa, you know she's like
- 0:46one of our three listeners, yes. One of four, yes.
- 0:51Yes. So I was with her a couple weeks
- 0:55ago and she was asking me, which I think we've talked about this
- 0:58in a past podcast, but she might not have listened to that
- 1:01podcast or whatever, but she was asking me why I wear headphones
- 1:06and you don't wear headphones. And so I said, well, he doesn't
- 1:11want to mess up his hair. Well, and then she said, well,
- 1:15don't you have to wear them when you're on the radio?
- 1:17And I was like, yes. And she said, well, isn't his
- 1:20hair getting messed up then? And I was like, well yes, so you
- 1:24can explain. So it's interesting.
- 1:27So if you, if you've not noticed, and I don't, I don't
- 1:30think we've ever talked about this.
- 1:31Notice how I don't have a wedding ring on?
- 1:33Yeah, notice. No I.
- 1:34Think we've talked about the wedding?
- 1:36Room I have 0 like I don't have AI would not wear a necklace, I
- 1:39don't have jewelry anything it it is not even about my hair.
- 1:43I don't like things touching me to some extent these days.
- 1:47I don't know why and so. What do you mean these days?
- 1:51Like you've never worn a wedding ring?
- 1:53You've never like, I've never seen you wear jewelry of any
- 1:56kind. No, no bracelet.
- 1:58I don't like, I don't like, I don't like the feel of steel on
- 2:02my body or things on my body. And so what's interesting which
- 2:05I can answer the the question even on air now I discovered
- 2:08this most amazing thing. And so we're in our brand new
- 2:12studios at KORD and I've got, I have my headset.
- 2:17So I've gotten rid of the old headset and now I just have it
- 2:19like. The cans.
- 2:21Right, right. And so it, so at work, I just
- 2:23have a Walkman earbud and shocker, I have you ever also
- 2:29noticed that I only wear one all the time?
- 2:31I don't wear both like this, right?
- 2:33It's always just one. Yeah.
- 2:35So I've got these little earbuds.
- 2:37It's still hardwired. You know what I'm saying?
- 2:39It's not, it's not, it's not remote.
- 2:40It's. Not Bluetooth.
- 2:42Yeah, I can still. I'm still.
- 2:43Old school so it's an old yeah so it's an old Walkman.
- 2:45It's an old Walkman headset, but it just has like the little
- 2:48earbud and then it goes down into the into the headphone amp.
- 2:52So I, I can't stand like I can't stand things like it just it
- 2:57just sounds weird and and here's one of the things I learned in
- 3:00radio was so for for radio people and.
- 3:03And she might be able to relate to this.
- 3:05So you don't sound like your real self when you have your
- 3:09head. If you have a headphone on like
- 3:10this, like that, you what? The voice you hear in your head
- 3:14is way deeper than than what your voice really is.
- 3:18And so for me, when I first got started in radio #1 it took me
- 3:21forever to be even halfway decent.
- 3:24At least in my humble opinion. I still suck.
- 3:26That's all of us. But but I didn't, I, I puked,
- 3:30they called it puking anyway, So someone had said, hey, take, you
- 3:34know, have one can on, one can on and and then and then you'll,
- 3:39you'll be able to hear the room, you hear the room and then you
- 3:41hear yourself and then you really have.
- 3:43To wear headphones when we're on the radio because you can't hear
- 3:48the song, you can't hear anything.
- 3:49And so that's why we would have to.
- 3:51That's why. We have to So what happened like
- 3:53so the reason why she wears the headphones like so let's say
- 3:55we're in the on air studio. If we hit the button, it mutes
- 3:58the music. Everything.
- 3:59So you're hearing it through your headphone.
- 4:00But even then, I still, even if I had cans on, it's one it's
- 4:04one. I I I barely need to hear the
- 4:07music for me, right, because because I and I've also I've
- 4:11also in our industry, people lose their hearing.
- 4:16Yes, you know, so you'll walk in after the disc jock the the
- 4:19prior previous show and your head.
- 4:21You plug in your headphones and it's like you.
- 4:24Guy yeah, you're the freaking so they're freaking deaf.
- 4:28So so I've taken special care in my in my career to protect my
- 4:33ear, my my ears. So it's one of those things if I
- 4:35don't have to wear a headphone or or earplugs or anything, I
- 4:39won't I won't do it. So I try, I try not to so.
- 4:42Well, you could wear earbuds. Or earbuds while.
- 4:45We do. This, but I don't even like the
- 4:46feel of. I just don't like the feel.
- 4:50Have you never liked the feel of headphones or is that new?
- 4:54No, I think, OK, so the the thinner the better if I do have
- 4:59to wear a headset. So like what you're wearing
- 5:01right now is like that's just too bulky.
- 5:03That's just I know that's bulky. That's.
- 5:04Just, and I like, I like my entire ear covered, but I've
- 5:08also had to have surgery on my left ear because I had a
- 5:10ruptured eardrum when I was little.
- 5:12So I can't hear that well out of that ear anyway.
- 5:15And so I feel like that helps me here better.
- 5:19I, I know that back in the day and my gosh, they were, there
- 5:21were Sanheisers. I wish I could find them.
- 5:23You've seen them if you ever watched a video from the 80s or
- 5:2690 or no 70s. The red and Gray ones.
- 5:29No, they had the yellow foam. Oh, so the Sanheisers had the
- 5:33old ones, the only but it had but, but they were thin.
- 5:36But that but the yellow foam was thin, it wasn't bulky.
- 5:39And so I think looking back, if I could have any headphones that
- 5:43we had at radio stations in the late 80s, early 90s, was those
- 5:46yellow, Remember those yellow ones?
- 5:47Yes, yes, I know what you're talking about now.
- 5:49Now I can. Picture like it was all the DJs
- 5:52on like Kuti when I worked at KXDD that would I could see them
- 5:56through the glass with their little yellow.
- 5:57Phone and it's the yellow ones right the sanitizers now maybe
- 6:00it's because it's my favorite color too, but but yeah so so
- 6:04even yeah so any anytime I can avoid wearing a head or any
- 6:09anything I pretty I pretty much avoid it so yeah and it and and
- 6:14I just you know it's it's for me it's uncomfortable so so #1 to
- 6:19preserve my hearing number two I've just always anything is is
- 6:22absolutely uncomfortable and it's so funny is even when I did
- 6:25wear them everybody used to laugh because I would wear so
- 6:28your top of your headphones is on the top of your head yes I
- 6:31would wear them here. Which it's a little bit back a
- 6:33little bit I could probably right.
- 6:35So, but I would wear them here, not mess up my hair too.
- 6:38So, so people would come in and see me with a headphone and all
- 6:41of it and the headphones. Or you turn them upside down.
- 6:44Oh I never did that because no, anything near the neck would
- 6:48would would drive me nuts. So yes, I can't do that, but but
- 6:51I could at least wear them on my forehead.
- 6:54People would come in the studio and I had them on my forehead,
- 6:56but you wouldn't know. You even know this when I'm
- 7:00voice tracking, which is different than being on the air.
- 7:02I never wear a headset. No, and I don't know how you do
- 7:05it. It's amazing to.
- 7:06Me, because I'll. Because I'll put the music in
- 7:07the little cue speaker, right? Yeah, even.
- 7:10Then that irritates me. I could never do that.
- 7:13Never. Ever.
- 7:14Yeah, so, and, and also I cheat also too, if, if I can't go
- 7:18through the cue speaker, I plug the headphone into the board and
- 7:21then I just have the phone sitting there.
- 7:23I mean, they have folks sitting there with the with the volume
- 7:25up. Right.
- 7:26And you can still hear. I can hear the, I can hear, I
- 7:28can hear the music down below. Are the music better or
- 7:30whatever? So Yep, it's just personal
- 7:32preference. I know that's a long, long
- 7:33answer to a short question, but I just, I know it was one of
- 7:37those things where like, yeah, I, I, I've.
- 7:39And so Megan. So I do have a wedding ring.
- 7:41And then Megan this Christmas bought me a rubber band.
- 7:44Like a rubber. Didn't you have it on for a
- 7:46while? Yeah.
- 7:47When we did our podcast right after Christmas and you, you
- 7:50can't wear it. I, well, I I do on special
- 7:53occasions when I want to look, when I want to look like I'm
- 7:55married. Your anniversary or Yeah.
- 7:58Well. Taken's birthday.
- 8:00So if we go out to dinner or something, I will wear it, you
- 8:02know, but and so I wore it. Oh, I worked at the John Wade
- 8:07show. So but I mean, so that so that
- 8:09that and she got that what REI, which is like a sports, I mean
- 8:13sports place. And and so it's a it's more of a
- 8:16silicon. Yeah, rubber.
- 8:18Yeah. So I'll wear it, but I I just
- 8:21don't. I just don't like to wear.
- 8:23Yeah. Things like that never have.
- 8:25Yeah. So when I see guys with pinky
- 8:27rings or any of that, yeah, just.
- 8:29Lots of jewelry, necklaces. Watches.
- 8:33Yeah. I think I had a black Casio
- 8:36watch. Watch that's.
- 8:37Crazy. Yeah.
- 8:37I had a black Casio watch, I think as a kid.
- 8:39But for me, it's like if I wear a watch, it just pulls on my
- 8:42hair. I can't stick the feel of that
- 8:44when it's what is it, gold or silver, whatever, and it's just
- 8:47freaking tear it. Yeah, it's tearing on the hair
- 8:49of my arm. I'm like, no.
- 8:51I mean, you could shave it off. I guess you could, but I didn't.
- 8:55I I think I've ever liked to watch.
- 8:56I don't think I've ever liked to watch just.
- 8:58Shave like a little spot right here for.
- 9:00You right, right I do I do have a fossil watch from an
- 9:04ex-girlfriend and it's engraved and from Kelly, my my
- 9:07ex-girlfriend in Bakersfield. And so that one's actually in
- 9:11it's in storage because it does, it's sentimental, right.
- 9:14And then she had, she had a great saying, saying that, you
- 9:16know, every, every man should have a, a nice watch.
- 9:19That's what that's how she was raised.
- 9:21That's where her mom told her. So she got me a nice, I do have
- 9:25a nice watch. It's a fossil and it's engraved
- 9:27and and all that. Now probably wearing that around
- 9:29Megan probably not make her happy.
- 9:30But no, that's. Probably not a good idea, but
- 9:32it's in. Yeah, but it's in storage.
- 9:33I mean, it it does have sentimental.
- 9:37Have you ever. You probably never have.
- 9:39Have you ever saved anything from an ex-boyfriend at all?
- 9:41Yeah. Yeah.
- 9:43So do you have a memory box? Yeah, that's in storage now,
- 9:46yeah. Yeah, yeah.
- 9:47So, yeah. So I've got a memory box.
- 9:49Megan's got a memory box. Yeah, I was going to say my
- 9:51husband. I mean, he was married before
- 9:54me, so. Right, you know, that's the
- 9:57yeah. Yeah.
- 9:58So, so I mean, so, yeah. So it's, it's it's tucked away.
- 10:01I mean, not, not like I can, you know, get into it or anything
- 10:04like that. Right.
- 10:04So it's not like we're like daily like flipping through
- 10:07these boxes of. No, no, but it's you know, but
- 10:11it's nice. It's nice to have.
- 10:13The only bummer about Myspace was I had I had a ton of photos
- 10:17on Myspace forever, forever, right and then and and it was a
- 10:21good place. So you actually, even after
- 10:22years after Myspace wasn't popular, you can still go look
- 10:25at your old photos. They were still up there and
- 10:28then and then Myspace sent out an e-mail about a couple years
- 10:30ago, sorry, we had a big server crash and all your anything that
- 10:34was on my bags. And so I had all these old
- 10:37photos, all these photos that I don't have, and I went.
- 10:40So I lost him. I was like so upset.
- 10:42OK. You mentioned the John Waite
- 10:43show. Yeah.
- 10:45So I want to ask you about that. How was it?
- 10:47It was great. So John Waites was at Purim Hall
- 10:51in Zilla and it's the old furniture warehouse.
- 10:53If you've never been, have you ever been to Purim Hall?
- 10:55Yeah, yeah, a couple times. Yeah.
- 10:58Who did we go? Was it Jack Ingram?
- 11:01Well, Joe? Jack Ingram.
- 11:02And then I also saw Buckcherry there.
- 11:05Oh, years ago I took Amy. I took Amy Yogurt.
- 11:08Oh, of course you did. Of course you did.
- 11:10And, and there, I think there's a photo of us at Purim Hall.
- 11:14You know, I have to, I have to find it, but it's in my, it's in
- 11:16my, and I think Kelly West and you and I and, and anyway,
- 11:20there's a picture and I think Amy was even in that picture
- 11:22too. I think Amy was wearing like
- 11:23Hawaiian clothes or something, something crazy.
- 11:25Yeah, there's a photo of us. So.
- 11:27So he was at Emerald Queen Casino, you know, in Tacoma, and
- 11:31then he was at the Spokane Tribe casinos.
- 11:33So. So Thursday night he was at
- 11:35Emerald Queen, and then Saturday he was in Spokane and John
- 11:38Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band opened.
- 11:41But then he did a little side tour or like a side show right
- 11:47there at Param Hall. Yeah.
- 11:48And it was Param Hall fills, what, 300 people or whatever?
- 11:52It's not a big, not a big venue, not a big.
- 11:53I was going to say it can't be more than 400.
- 11:56Right. It's not it's not and it's like
- 11:58it's it almost looks like old prohibition, like underground.
- 12:04Yeah, yeah. And so.
- 12:05And what it's so good. What I love about it too.
- 12:07And it was it was a fun night. What I love about it is the only
- 12:11way the artist can get to the stage is walk, not necessarily
- 12:14walk through the crowd, but they.
- 12:15But they have to come to the door.
- 12:16So there's no hiding the artist. So when so when the in the.
- 12:19Screen Room. There's no, well, I'm sure
- 12:21there's a green room there, but I'm saying when they come on
- 12:23stage, there's no curtain drop. There's no, you know, the band,
- 12:27just. Walk.
- 12:30No, that it's, it's almost like open mic night, you know what
- 12:33I'm saying? I mean, they just come, they
- 12:35just come in from the side. It's not like they're they're
- 12:37trying to hide anybody or you're you know, you're like, oh, well,
- 12:39there's John Waite. I mean, it wasn't like, you
- 12:41know. And so the cool thing about it,
- 12:43intimate intimate intimates venue was they didn't sell.
- 12:48I guess they were. I guess the promoter was a
- 12:49little upset or disappointed. Not upset they didn't sell out
- 12:53or. They didn't.
- 12:55No. So it was probably, I'd say
- 12:58maybe 200 people or whatever. But it was really intimate.
- 13:02You could walk right up to the stage and be right underneath
- 13:05John Wade if you wanted to. Do you know, it might, might
- 13:08have only been 100 and some people I don't know, but it was
- 13:10for me, it was fantastic because I'm a huge John Wade fan.
- 13:13But I saw your old friend Todd Lyons and Carrie and his wife
- 13:16Carrie was there. Kurt Cartier was there from the
- 13:18you know, they came in from the the the classic rock station in
- 13:20Yakima. And so John waits absolutely
- 13:25amazing. Missing you when I see you smile
- 13:27now, Megan didn't really know. She knew missing you, right, But
- 13:31she didn't really know the other 80s songs like change, which I
- 13:34love change. I mean, so there's a bunch of
- 13:36songs I knew was like, Oh, this is you know, but that's because
- 13:39I'm a John John Wake fan. So and I really, really enjoyed
- 13:43it, you know, and so it was great.
- 13:45And and the nice thing is I didn't have to go to Spokane
- 13:48Tribe. I didn't have to go to Denver
- 13:50Queen. And I'm right there.
- 13:51I'm right there and front row, front row center, basically, I
- 13:56can get as close as I wanted to get.
- 13:57I threw a little video up that Patty, my Patty took on my
- 14:01YouTube. So that's how close it could be.
- 14:03Nice. You know, and, and again, it
- 14:05was, you know, it's one of those, it was one of those great
- 14:07nights where he did his, you know, 12 songs or whatever.
- 14:09And, and, and I just, I just love it just by the fact that
- 14:13they they have to walk on stage. If they're not, you're not, you
- 14:16know? And they're just, they're just
- 14:19normal. They're just normal.
- 14:21I guess that's yes, that that for me.
- 14:23I just absolutely love when you see the artist not doing the
- 14:26whole and and the nice thing about it again, the show.
- 14:30This is this is the best part, Michelle, because we're getting
- 14:32old. So the show started at oh doors
- 14:36opened at 6:30 and the and the show started at 7:30 and he was
- 14:40done by 9845. I'm like, I'm like, no, no, 930
- 14:47bullshit. Going all the way to freaking 11
- 14:50or so. Yeah, yeah, no, it was like by
- 14:52by 839 or 83845. It was like, all right, good
- 14:57night, everybody. See ya.
- 14:58And he did. And the best part, too, which I
- 15:01had snuck a peek of the setlist on because you can always go
- 15:04online if you go to setlist.com. So I knew what the setlist was.
- 15:08And his last song was Led Zeppelin's Whole Lot of Love,
- 15:10right? So.
- 15:11So the cool thing about it was he got to that song.
- 15:14He did, you know, he did, missing you when I'm back on my
- 15:17feet again. And then he went into that when
- 15:18he goes. All right, guys, this is the
- 15:19last song of the night. Thank you for coming out.
- 15:21He does a whole lot of love by Led Zeppelin.
- 15:22Then he leaves. I mean, he's done.
- 15:24And it's so funny. They're still waiting for him to
- 15:26come back and do an on court. Yeah.
- 15:27But he didn't do 1. And I said, I said.
- 15:29And I said for my old age, this is absolutely perfect.
- 15:34You know, And I have to say not to get off course, but one of my
- 15:37favorite shows I ever saw in legends was Kenny Rogers.
- 15:40Kenny Rogers came on at 7:30, 730 exactly.
- 15:45And at 8:30 he was done. And what he said was for Islands
- 15:50in the Stream, he goes, hey, guys, he goes, I'm too old.
- 15:52He goes, I'm too old to go back behind the stage and you guys
- 15:55cheer for me and all that because remember, he's like 78
- 15:57at the time or whatever he goes. So can I, can I just do the
- 16:00encore now? And so he did Islands in the
- 16:02Stream and that was it. And so it made me made me laugh.
- 16:05It was a great show. Kenny Rogers.
- 16:06Every song is a hit, right? Well, Megan, who loves Kenny
- 16:09Rogers, years ago we saw him at the Ben Franken Fair and Rodeo.
- 16:13And I said, watch this, this Megan.
- 16:14And she goes, what? I said 7:30, he's going to hit
- 16:16it on the dot and he'll be done at 8:30.
- 16:19And she goes, no, he won't. No, he won't.
- 16:21Literally at 7:30 he walks out, does the show, and right at 8:30
- 16:26all right or right, even before 8:30, he does islands in the
- 16:29stream. And then he gets off the stage
- 16:31exactly at 8:30, like it's exactly an hour timed perfect.
- 16:35So crazy. So yeah, the John Waite show.
- 16:37It is what it would have been awesome.
- 16:39I do have a quick question for you.
- 16:41I'm not going to fly out and do this.
- 16:43So I'm I'm, I'm on Spotify. I'm listening to John Waite or
- 16:46whatever. Right.
- 16:47And then I thought, well, I'll just go over and, and and play a
- 16:49couple songs for my old buddy Richard Page, right.
- 16:52As we all know, Mr. Mr. Lead singer right out of the blue it
- 16:56says on tour. No.
- 16:59And you do not know this? No.
- 17:00No, no, I know that. No, no.
- 17:01With any artist. With any artist it has if
- 17:03they're on tour, no. They pop up and tell you stuff
- 17:07and. Yeah, yes.
- 17:08I'm saying what's crazy is guess who, when I was in the Richard
- 17:11Page songs, guess what it said on tour and I went, wait, well
- 17:16he doesn't tour. So I went in and he's doing a
- 17:19one off show in Louisville, KY with Dan and Shay Gabby
- 17:24Barrett's Richard Marx. Oh.
- 17:28My goodness. Yeah, so that.
- 17:30Would be fabulous. Yes, and so it's for the
- 17:33Shriners. It's a it's a benefit concert,
- 17:35but it I thought, man, maybe I should I've never been never
- 17:39been to Kentucky. I don't want to go to Kentucky.
- 17:40But you know, now of course he's going to go out and do his two
- 17:43big he's going to do broken wings and Curiae probably and
- 17:45that's it because he's a special he's a special guest, right.
- 17:49Oh, and the leads of Kansas. Yeah.
- 17:51And when you have a line up like that, kind of like a watershed,
- 17:54you're limited on your time because it's back-to-back to
- 17:57back-to-back artist and so you can't go over time.
- 18:02Yeah, which is amazing. Richard Page.
- 18:04Like what? I mean, whoever put this, no,
- 18:06like you're thinking, OK, sure. It's a Shriners event.
- 18:09It's Shriners, right? It's Shriners.
- 18:10I mean, it's for the kids. I get it.
- 18:12But who sat down and goes, OK, Dan and Shay, Gabby Barrett,
- 18:15Richard Marx. Oh, let's get Richard Page for
- 18:17Mr. Mr. What, You know, but that's only tour date.
- 18:21That's it. It's not like he's on tour.
- 18:22It's just that's that one day, that one day so.
- 18:25And when it's this? July.
- 18:27It's in July. So you have time.
- 18:29You on a Saturday night? See, you have time to you could
- 18:33fly out Friday. I told him, do you fly out for
- 18:36two songs? You would.
- 18:38I Well, the nice thing is I. Cost money and airline tickets
- 18:43are expensive. I know I checked it was like 600
- 18:46bucks round trip from Yeah for for this flight actually.
- 18:49That's not bad, so. And then the best seats are 400
- 18:52because, well, it's a it's a benefit concert, but but the
- 18:55cheapest are like 50 some dollars, you know, but it still
- 18:59shocked me when I when I went tour.
- 19:02And then it goes Ed and Shay Gabby Barrett, like what kind of
- 19:05tour? What you.
- 19:07Know you're like excuse me, what is going?
- 19:09On well, you know, well, yeah, there's like the like, what are
- 19:11the what are the similarities in this particular in this in this
- 19:15anyway, so yeah, it's exciting. So John awake fantastic.
- 19:18Highly recommend. He was amazing. 73 years old
- 19:21too. Is he that old?
- 19:23That yeah, he looks great. He looks great, like he looks
- 19:26great came out and the nice thing I love also about the
- 19:29band. So their style was John Waite.
- 19:31They're they're in suits. So the band is in suits.
- 19:34So it's not, you know, so that's kind of I kind of like and and
- 19:37Patty's oh, they were in suits. I'm like, yeah, so that's kind
- 19:40of cool that they were like, because he's an Englishman.
- 19:42John Wick's English, he's not American, but but the band is
- 19:46in. They weren't like they weren't
- 19:47tatted out and. Right in their rocker clothes.
- 19:51Or just their jeans and well, you know their.
- 19:53Jeans and bands and right, Yeah. No, they go out.
- 19:56He's in a very nice, like a leisure shoot.
- 19:58I mean like a, you know. And I'm sure it was $1000 plus
- 20:02suit, but I mean, it was. Right.
- 20:03And that's hot, like being on stage and.
- 20:06Oh, he took off his jacket, You know, did the whole, you know,
- 20:08you do a couple songs, take your jacket, right, All that.
- 20:10So. And the women love that.
- 20:11So yeah, it was. Super cool.
- 20:12So pyram hall Zilla. Definitely worth checking out.
- 20:15I didn't realize Buckcherry had come.
- 20:17That's that is such a uh huh. Amy Yogurt.
- 20:19Quite a few years ago and I bought tickets and then I just
- 20:23asked Amy if she I loved Buckcherry.
- 20:25And so I was like, Oh my God, like this is the perfect venue
- 20:28to see them because it's tiny. So yeah, I mean, the only thing
- 20:32I don't like about it is it is standing room only.
- 20:34And now that I'm older, like you said, you like that it's done
- 20:37early. I don't like standing anymore.
- 20:40So any like GA shit I will be like no.
- 20:43Thank you. No thanks.
- 20:45Buckcherry didn't have chairs out there at all.
- 20:47No, no standing room. Wayne is old.
- 20:49OK, So John Wayne must be old people's stuff because because
- 20:52there was there was aisles and aisles of chairs.
- 20:54There was still that there was still the the stage area where
- 20:56you could stand, right. But then but then there was VIP
- 20:59tables set up and then there was like a lay a ton of chairs in
- 21:03the back. Just Yeah, must be because of
- 21:05his age. Right, all of us older.
- 21:08People old, yeah, yeah, yeah. Nobody, no, no, 18 year olds
- 21:11gonna go mosh pit at John Waite. Maybe that's the difference, but
- 21:14Cherry, you're gonna mosh pit so.
- 21:15Oh, yes, yeah. There were some people that were
- 21:18doing it, but yeah. Like really, I mean, now going
- 21:22back to Peeram Hall, which is it is a great venue really.
- 21:24I'm going to make it funny. You're mosh pitting at
- 21:26Buckcherry at Peeram Hall. If you saw the venue, you'd be
- 21:29like, really? I did it at the Gorge or
- 21:32something with this big old mud, whatever.
- 21:34You know the but but you look kind of goofy.
- 21:38It's almost like it's almost like mosh pitting in your
- 21:40basement. Yes, exactly.
- 21:42And there was only a few guys that were doing it too.
- 21:45It must have been. They must have been like the
- 21:46hardcore. Yeah, they must have been like
- 21:49the older guys trying to relive their youth, is what I think was
- 21:52happening. Yeah, and they probably injured
- 21:54themselves. Buckcherry Yeah, but good show,
- 21:58right? Yeah, it was, It was good.
- 22:01It was. Yeah.
- 22:02They can see Sing live, definitely.
- 22:05And did they do it encore? Did they just do like what John
- 22:08Wayne did with? No, they did a little encore, so
- 22:10yeah. But they but they had to
- 22:12basically walk out the door and come back in.
- 22:14Yes. That's the hilarity.
- 22:16The door is like right next to the stage.
- 22:18It's not like you're walking anywhere, you know?
- 22:19Basically, when you get off the stage, you're pretty much at the
- 22:21door. Yeah, yeah.
- 22:24So. So yeah.
- 22:24Well, I'm glad. I'm glad it was good.
- 22:27I want to talk about I finished watching, I know you don't watch
- 22:31this. I finished watching The Secret
- 22:33Lives of Mormon Wives the last season, which was season 4 I
- 22:36think, which it ends with Taylor, you know, the girl that
- 22:40was supposed to be The Bachelorette.
- 22:43Oh yeah. That that girl, it ends with her
- 22:46leaving to go beyond the Bachelor to start filming The
- 22:49Bachelorette. Oh.
- 22:50Wow, that's earlier. Yeah, that's where her secret
- 22:53lives and Mormon Wives ends. And it ends with her right as
- 22:56she's about to start filming. She like, she's in, she goes,
- 22:59flies to LA, and then it kind of stops there.
- 23:03But she had been sleeping with her baby daddy #2 like right
- 23:08before that. Like like the night before.
- 23:12And then it shows him telling some of the other cast members
- 23:17that she told him that when they had sex, which they had sex
- 23:20multiple times a couple times before this as well, that she
- 23:25had been ovulating when they had sex.
- 23:29And she doesn't use birth control because she doesn't like
- 23:31the hormones in it and how it affects her body.
- 23:35And so that's how that's her birth control is tracking her
- 23:38cycle. It's tracking her cycle.
- 23:42And so it ends there. That's where it ends.
- 23:44Like like and her friends, the the women from mom talk are like
- 23:49she could be like the first pregnant Bachelorette, like what
- 23:52is happening anyway? So I thought that was
- 23:56interesting. And then I've read recently, so
- 24:00that video surfaced that we talked about which kind of ended
- 24:04her being The Bachelorette or The Bachelorette airing that
- 24:08they had already filmed, right? Which that video is from years
- 24:12ago, years ago. And then the new allegations for
- 24:16Baby daddy #2 which is the video, which is who she's
- 24:20throwing the chair out in the video, the new charges that he
- 24:24was trying to drum up against her are from like 2 years ago.
- 24:28So he went into the police station and tried to get charges
- 24:32against her for stuff that is from 2-3 years ago.
- 24:37And so the DA, the prosecutor came back with, we're not going
- 24:40to press charges against her because the statue of
- 24:43limitations has passed and there's not enough sufficient
- 24:46evidence. And so so there's no new charges
- 24:51against her. And so the women of Mom Talk are
- 24:54upset that she's causing so much drama with mom talk because this
- 24:58is how they all make their money now.
- 25:00And so they were they were currently filming for the next
- 25:03season of the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives when all this
- 25:06happened. And so the women of Mom Talk
- 25:08were like, we want to stop filming for a while.
- 25:10And so that has been put on hiatus.
- 25:13So I don't know what's going to happen.
- 25:14But anyway, that is all the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives
- 25:18drama to and. I know you love this, so OK, so
- 25:22I've got A and this is not. OK.
- 25:24Do you have questions? This is.
- 25:25Not throwing stones at at glass houses.
- 25:29I struggle so hard. OK, maybe the title of the show
- 25:33should not be Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.
- 25:35By the fact that I feel when you when you say you're religious, I
- 25:42expect you to act what you say you are.
- 25:45You know, I'm saying I don't, I don't think you should.
- 25:47I like she gets to be a skanky hoe and yet and yet no, I'm
- 25:51saying and yet I'm a Mormon. Really.
- 25:54So. No, no, I'm saying is it is she
- 25:57not, is she not Mormon? Is she a practicing Mormon?
- 26:01I don't know that she's necessarily like practicing
- 26:03practicing. So there are two groups in Mom
- 26:07talk. So there are the well, there's
- 26:10the practicing Mormons. So there's a couple of the girls
- 26:13that are the practicing Mormons and then there's a couple of
- 26:16girls in the group that are not practicing, but that were raised
- 26:20in it, that still have family members that have been kind of
- 26:25struggling with Mormonism itself and questioning stuff.
- 26:29And so you have those girls in the same group.
- 26:33And so the ones, the ones that still go to church and are
- 26:36practicing are pretty much live by rules of Mormonism, but
- 26:42they're also trying to elevate women in Mormon in Mormonism as
- 26:49a religion. So they're trying to get that,
- 26:53that stigma of you have to be like trad wife.
- 26:56You have to be a stay at home mom if you're Mormon or married
- 26:59to a Mormon. So they are trying to progress
- 27:03and move that forward so that women can have jobs and have
- 27:08careers. And also they support gay
- 27:12people, which I know that the the.
- 27:15Doesn't I not get it? Well, they're trying to say that
- 27:17they do, but they really don't know.
- 27:19We know. That so know that.
- 27:21And so they're trying to be more progressive in a lot of
- 27:24different areas and those. Are like like the real world.
- 27:27No, I'm saying like like Mt VS no Mt VS real world.
- 27:30It's like who's sleeping with who?
- 27:31That yeah, I struggle. I I I just, I've always, I just
- 27:35have always struggled from it's like that's one, I think that's
- 27:38one of the reasons why I that's when I was 18 years old.
- 27:42I just, I was heavily, you already know, I was heavily into
- 27:44the church, yes, you know. Not the Mormon church, but.
- 27:47Yeah, not the Mormon church, but but I was I was a junior Deacon
- 27:51in in you know, I did not have because I was because I was
- 27:54heavy into the church in high school.
- 27:57You know, I didn't have relations.
- 28:00I didn't even kiss anybody in high school, you know, because I
- 28:03was had my little Bible, right, you know, and I'm thumping No.
- 28:07And I'm and I'm thumping along, thumping along with my little
- 28:10Bible. And then something occurred,
- 28:14happened to me that made me leave the church.
- 28:17But up until then, you know, I abided by what the expectations
- 28:22were of somebody that if you say you're going to church or if
- 28:25you're I, I never under OK, I always struggled with that.
- 28:29And I, it's all, it's still is a struggle to me today.
- 28:33And somebody, I'll even put it out there, somebody that I fell
- 28:37in love with a billion years ago, you know, I'm saying a
- 28:40billion years ago was the kind of person that would go out on
- 28:43Saturday night through whoever, you know what I'm saying, and
- 28:46then sit in the Pew on Sunday, You know what I'm saying, acting
- 28:49like that, whatever, whatever. You know what I'm saying?
- 28:53Nobody's perfect. You know what I'm saying?
- 28:55Nobody's perfect. But I, I've never understood.
- 28:59I've never understood that. OK, so if you if you profess one
- 29:03thing and you don't live by it, then aren't are you, are you
- 29:06that, are you that you can say that?
- 29:09But well, you would be a hypocrite, which is what we've
- 29:12had problems with in religion, Christianity, all the churches.
- 29:17But that's what I have a problem with is how hypocritical they
- 29:21are. So I so that that is why I quit.
- 29:27I quit the church many years ago because I was not going to be a
- 29:31hypocrite anymore or I was not going to lie to people.
- 29:33I just, I'm just not going to lie to people.
- 29:34I woke up, I woke up one day and said I'm just not going to lie
- 29:37to people. So now I will, you know, I mean,
- 29:41I truly am amazed on people true, true Christians who have
- 29:46faith. I have nothing but absolute 100%
- 29:50respect for because I, I woke up 1 morning and said, OK, if
- 29:54somebody put a gun to my head right now and said, do you
- 29:57believe in God or not? You know, saying, I, I can't, I
- 30:04can't say one way or another. Now we've talked that I'm an
- 30:05agnostic. I'm not an atheist, but I'm an
- 30:07agnostic. I can't, I can't, I can't prove
- 30:09that he exists and I can't prove that he doesn't exist, right?
- 30:12So, so to me, I could not be a liar with a gun to my head
- 30:16going, Hey, you, you believe in God or not, you know, and I
- 30:18thought, no, I, I don't. So, and people with faith, real
- 30:22faith, will take the bullet. Yeah.
- 30:24For God, no, for God. So to me that is Christian faith
- 30:29to me that that you believe so much in this calling and that
- 30:35and to me, for me, I'm telling you, telling you that as a
- 30:37compliment. I'm telling you that as a
- 30:39compliment, not not derogatory. I'm not, I am not down on
- 30:43Christians at all. I am down on hypocritical
- 30:46Christian. Don't, don't I?
- 30:48You know, and, and you know what you and I both know, Hey, we've
- 30:54all fallen. We've all you know.
- 30:55It's like, don't, don't look at my closet.
- 30:57The skeletons will drop out like a billion of them like.
- 30:59But. But we try to get better every
- 31:03single day. So the the the sins of my past,
- 31:06I don't do today. I just don't, I just don't do
- 31:08it. I don't do it, you know, so it's
- 31:10one of those things where it's like, so I I'm fascinated by
- 31:13your secret lives of Warren wives with, you know why why
- 31:16number one, why you watch this show?
- 31:18And then are they? They're not trying to be Mormons
- 31:21And so why is the title to show Mormons if?
- 31:22I just told you why, like I just gave you.
- 31:25That's just a little piece of the show right there.
- 31:27Like, you know, I love that drama and I know.
- 31:30You do so. So have you heard?
- 31:31So you know, have you heard the new thing?
- 31:33Have you ever heard of with the Mormon?
- 31:35Have you ever heard of soaking? No.
- 31:37What is that? So hang on a second, because I
- 31:39want to make sure I I tell you right So at Brigham Young
- 31:42University, when so So Mormons are technically not supposed to
- 31:46have sex. Right.
- 31:49So. They just, but they could do the
- 31:52they could do the back door, not the front.
- 31:54Well, yeah, I was. I was going to yes, So, so.
- 31:58I'm trying to word the the best I can without anything.
- 32:01What's that? I said I was trying to word that
- 32:04the best I could without being. Right.
- 32:07Yes, yes, yes. So that yes, so that, that
- 32:12that's an exciting part of that. OK.
- 32:14So, so, so interesting soaking which is going around the the
- 32:20campus. Is it it is penile vaginal
- 32:24penetration, but you don't thrust allegedly allegedly to
- 32:28maintain. Soaking.
- 32:31And and allegedly to maintain technical virginity while
- 32:34complying with strict LDS chastity rules.
- 32:37Also, they said that it is rumored that an accompanying an
- 32:41accompanying act with this is a third party shakes the bed to
- 32:45create the motion. What, Are you serious?
- 32:47Allowing the couple to remain still as described on Reddit so.
- 32:51No. So if you're going to bring them
- 32:53young university, they. Yeah, wow.
- 32:56I have no words. That's just, that's crazy.
- 32:58Yeah, it's called frozen humping.
- 32:59So they don't move. They don't move, but your best
- 33:02friend comes in and shakes the bed.
- 33:03Shakes the bed. So anyway, maybe that's maybe a
- 33:06little so that that's called that's called soaking so.
- 33:10Again, like it. Why?
- 33:13So it's kind of the same with certain Jewish face or you know,
- 33:19how the women can't show their hair and so they wear wigs.
- 33:22So it's it's, it's not really bending the rules, but tricking
- 33:27God or what, how whatever you want to call it.
- 33:30But to me it's like, why do you even have to?
- 33:34That doesn't make sense to me. Like why would you even have to
- 33:37do that? Like why are you doing this when
- 33:41it it just doesn't make sense to me.
- 33:43Like it does not make sense. Like you're trying to trick God
- 33:46with wearing this wig. And in Mormonism, you're saying
- 33:51that you're not having sex because you're not really
- 33:53thrusting. But yet I mean, you are having
- 33:55sex. Like this is this is sex.
- 33:57Like you don't have to have any of that kind of stuff to be to
- 34:01call it sex. So I don't.
- 34:03Get I. Don't get it, I.
- 34:06Don't. Well, it it, it was so funny.
- 34:08There was an interview with Candace, Candace Cameron Burr
- 34:13where she talked about, and I think this was this made news
- 34:15weeks ago, where she says it's hard for her to have sex with
- 34:18her husband because God's watching.
- 34:20EW. Well, you know Kirk, Kirk
- 34:22Cameron and Candace. And her right are religious
- 34:25right? Hardcore, hardcore.
- 34:26So we're talking missionary probably the whole time anyway,
- 34:29even though, you know, and I, I, hey, I will, I will concur with
- 34:32anybody else. We didn't have a crush on
- 34:34Candace Cameron. I mean.
- 34:35Right. I, I even to this day, I think
- 34:37she's a beautiful, beautiful woman.
- 34:39I don't know if I'd want to be married to her because you know,
- 34:41it's like we're going to do the one way only.
- 34:44Right. And you're probably and you're
- 34:46probably not getting much of it then.
- 34:48Yeah, probably not, because God's watching, you know, so,
- 34:51you know, you can't be a filthy whore when God's watching, you
- 34:55know, so. So maybe she's the filthiest one
- 35:00out there. You don't know.
- 35:02You don't know. So I, so I you know, I didn't
- 35:05mean to. If I offended anybody, I didn't
- 35:06mean to. All I keep saying is I just, I I
- 35:09just have yet. Well, so my wife is watching
- 35:12this TV show called Heart of Dixie.
- 35:15OK? It's called Heart of Dixie.
- 35:17I've heard of it but I haven't watched.
- 35:18It OK, well, then there's this other show called heartland.
- 35:22So I so I hear her watching these shows and it's like, and
- 35:26so they're through the entire show.
- 35:27Now this is this is TV, not not reality reality TV.
- 35:33It's just a drama, right, right. But the entire show, all I hear
- 35:37is who's hooking up with who basically, because I can hear it
- 35:40upstairs. I can hear, you know, oh, does
- 35:42Chad really like you? Hey, did Chad ask you out?
- 35:44Are you going to go out? Did you sleep with him?
- 35:46So anyway, I hear these shows that she's listening to upstairs
- 35:49and I keep thinking, was this heartland?
- 35:51Is this heart of Dixie? And and so they're all the same
- 35:53kind. They're all the same.
- 35:57It's. Yeah.
- 35:58Well, she she ran through a couple weeks ago, she ran
- 36:01through the entire Beverly Hills 9-O21-O every episode.
- 36:04Damn. Yeah, every episode.
- 36:06So here I'm hearing about Dylan and Brandon and I'm like, my
- 36:09God, I had the hugest crush on Jenny Garth and I'm like and
- 36:13then as she was. Didn't.
- 36:14Yeah, but as she was playing all 1010 seasons, I could hear it.
- 36:17And I'm like, God, how many people did did Kelly sleep with?
- 36:20Oh my God. You know, and there's nothing.
- 36:22And again, there's nothing wrong with that, but it's just funny
- 36:24for TV's sake. You're like, holy cow.
- 36:28You know, it's like, you know, I don't know.
- 36:30It's one. Yeah.
- 36:31So anyway, it's it's. And I asked her.
- 36:33I said I said Megan. I said Megan.
- 36:35I said I said, what? What's that about these shows?
- 36:38Like, is it the drama? What is it that, you know, makes
- 36:40you want? You said the drama.
- 36:42You said the drama. Right.
- 36:44Or for me, it's just like it's mind numbing TV.
- 36:47Like I don't have to think. I could just sit there for a
- 36:49while and just let it play. But do you think?
- 36:53So the girl, what's the girl's name?
- 36:54That's going to be the what was going to be The Bachelorette?
- 36:56Taylor, Taylor Taylor. Is your opinion changed at all
- 36:59about her? As far as?
- 37:01Just in general. That she's not crazy.
- 37:03Did you even like her? Did you even like her on the
- 37:05show? I mean, I she wasn't my
- 37:07favorite, but she wasn't my least favorite either.
- 37:09Like, she obviously has issues and problems and she's got some
- 37:14generational trauma like her dad.
- 37:16She only saw her dad once when she was 4.
- 37:18So I mean, there's a lot of underlying things.
- 37:22But yeah, she definitely has rage problem, anger problem.
- 37:30She needs to. And she was one of the swingers,
- 37:34which I talked about this. I told you this on another
- 37:37podcast when we were talking about.
- 37:38The Swingers. Yes, that she was one of the
- 37:42original swingers. And that's my only struggle is I
- 37:48guess it's kind of like watching an Amish show.
- 37:50I guess I expect more of the Amish, you know, now I
- 37:53understand breaking Amish, you know, where they go and they
- 37:56like, oh, they're 18 years old and they go out in the world
- 37:57and, you know, they can do whatever they want.
- 38:00No, they can do whatever they want.
- 38:01Sodom and Gomorrah. And then they come back and then
- 38:03they can decide if they want to be Amish or if they don't want
- 38:06to embrace that lifestyle. So, so to me, I, I, I, I guess I
- 38:11just struggled because some, some of those in the Christian
- 38:16faith like to like to put on errors and be judgmental.
- 38:22Yes. So I'm like, so I'm like, how
- 38:24can, how can you be judgmental of other people when your
- 38:28behavior is the same or even worse?
- 38:31Right. That's all that that that,
- 38:33that's all. But and, and what?
- 38:35And it was funny, when I went to Northwest Nazarene, right out of
- 38:40right out of high school, I was still a virgin.
- 38:42I, I, I So even going to a Christian college, I hadn't had,
- 38:46I hadn't had sex, you know, because remember, I was still, I
- 38:49was still thumping. Right.
- 38:50I was still thumping away, so and it's A and it's A and as I
- 38:56always say, it's a good thing I was thumping away because just
- 38:58think about how deadly I could have been in high.
- 39:00Oh yeah, so deadly. So deadly with.
- 39:06Some something, some people think I'm charismatic, but I
- 39:10mean, maybe back, maybe back in, but when I was a better looking
- 39:12guy back in the day. I mean, I knew you when you were
- 39:16younger, like 26 years ago now. Yeah, yeah.
- 39:19So, so yeah, now I'm just an old man, but but some some might say
- 39:26I had a personality back in the day.
- 39:28So back. Back in the day.
- 39:31So, so yeah. So even, so even in college,
- 39:34it's hilarious. Even in college I didn't have
- 39:36sex. And, you know, I think I went on
- 39:38a couple dates and that was it. Now, were other people having.
- 39:42I mean, I, I know my roommate. I know my roommate wasn't, you
- 39:45know, Stewart, his name was Stewart.
- 39:47But I but again, I was always put with the nerds.
- 39:49So I. Mean that's that's good.
- 39:52That's that's for the best. Yeah, well, it's funny is I've
- 39:56so it's always hilarious is so there was this girl in college,
- 39:59your name was Amy and she was from Alaska and and she was a
- 40:04girl I had a big crush on. Well, she we met, blah, blah,
- 40:07blah. And then she got a boyfriend.
- 40:10So I was like, OK, hands off on that particular situation.
- 40:13And then when I decided to leave college, she'd broken up with
- 40:17the boyfriend. Like, well, of course.
- 40:19Of course, of course she did. And so.
- 40:21That's how it works. That's how it works.
- 40:23And so anyway, so we had a big going away party for me.
- 40:27And so at least I, you know, I got to say goodbye to Amy and.
- 40:31And she came to and she came to the party.
- 40:33She came to the party. Yeah, absolutely.
- 40:34And she sat right next to me and nothing happened.
- 40:36But. But it was.
- 40:38And then she wrote me a couple letters.
- 40:40I think they're my, I think they're my memory box somewhere.
- 40:42So. So anyway, yeah.
- 40:44So I could have been, I could have been one of those Mormon
- 40:46husbands. You never know.
- 40:46Could have been secret. Secret lies of the Nazarene.
- 40:50It's called Dad Talk. The dads have their own tick
- 40:53tock. It's called Dad Talk.
- 40:54Yeah, but they're riding on the coattails of the mom, so don't
- 40:57get me started. On that so I so so for me just I
- 41:03went to the First Christian Church it's called the disciples
- 41:05of Christ so when I went to northwest Nazarene I did not
- 41:09realize they don't dance do you realize the Nazarenes don't
- 41:11dance they. Don't.
- 41:13It's Footloose. Right the footloose.
- 41:15No, it was Footloose. No, it was.
- 41:17And so and so the hilarity was, I mean, because I had, you know,
- 41:21gone to senior prom, junior prom.
- 41:22I mean, I, I danced, I mean, as a teenager.
- 41:25And then I get to to Footloose. I'm like, what the I get to, I
- 41:28go to now it's where it's not ringing.
- 41:29Like, yeah, we don't dance around here.
- 41:31Just there was no school dances. So we go off campus to go to
- 41:35Boise, to go to this club called Clubs, Club Zion.
- 41:39To be able to dance. To be able to dance.
- 41:41So there, we're already breaking the rules.
- 41:42See. Look at that.
- 41:43See, you're already, Yeah, it doesn't.
- 41:46Again, it doesn't make sense to me if you're just trying to bend
- 41:49the rules or try to get around them.
- 41:50But they did, yeah. The kids, we'd go, we'd go out.
- 41:53And it was really weird because they did have dormitories for
- 41:57married couples at Northwest Nazarene because they married so
- 42:00young. They married like at 18, you
- 42:02know, because you can't can't, you know?
- 42:05Can't have sex right? So you got to get married young.
- 42:08Yeah, so it was, it was absolutely, it was absolutely
- 42:10fat for me. It was absolutely fascinating.
- 42:13And and I was in I was in Chapman Hall.
- 42:16It's called Chapman Hall. So it's a fun ever to go down to
- 42:19to Boise and, you know, go to Northwest Nazarene.
- 42:23So it was kind of a, you know, looking back on God, I can't
- 42:25believe I did that. So.
- 42:27Well, you know, he did a little bit of college, so it counts.
- 42:30Yeah, as Megan says, I didn't do any College in her mind, but
- 42:34she's like you, you, because when they ask you that, So when
- 42:36they ask you that on that like high school, some college, you
- 42:40know, grad, you know, a a. So I always stand.
- 42:43I put some. I mean, I did a quarter, doesn't
- 42:46that count as some, right? Isn't that some college now?
- 42:49Megan says. Well.
- 42:52Check it too I'm. Like I'm like, what do you mean
- 42:55it's? Some college.
- 42:56It's some college. Like yes, I decided to be a
- 42:59radio DJ. Yeah, yeah.
- 43:01We don't have to go to college for that.
- 43:04So I did something good for you today.
- 43:06What'd you do? Because I know you want to talk
- 43:07about Trump, but I only gave us like 10 minutes left.
- 43:10I know. Yeah.
- 43:11So. There you go.
- 43:12Yes, go for it. Get on that which I.
- 43:14Didn't even mention didn't even mention the handmaid tale.
- 43:17We could talk about the next next week or whatever because
- 43:20that's still I can't testament. To tell it's still going on.
- 43:23No, it's the testament. So this is the next in this
- 43:26series. OK.
- 43:27Yes. So they wrapped up the original
- 43:30Handmaid's Tale. Well, this is the next book
- 43:32actually like. Oh my God.
- 43:34That Margaret Atwood wrote. So anyway, yeah.
- 43:37But yeah, let's talk about the other crazy reality show, Which.
- 43:41Is a white college we might as well mix this all in with the
- 43:43religious and being non religious.
- 43:46I'm sorry, it's blasphemy. Yeah, I could not.
- 43:49I don't. I don't.
- 43:50I don't. Yeah.
- 43:51When I saw the photo, I was like, what in the world?
- 43:56Which he's already he already did the picture of him dressed
- 43:59up as the Pope. So I don't this this should not
- 44:03have surprised me or anyone else that he did this.
- 44:06But then him trying to say like he thought it was him as a
- 44:10doctor. I'm like seriously like what,
- 44:13what like what what is going on? Like he's he's probably lying is
- 44:19what my thought is, is like he's lying or like grandpa needs to
- 44:24go to the home, which we already know he needs to go to the home.
- 44:27But someone, it's like someone needs to be double checking
- 44:31their shit. Like he is posting.
- 44:33What in the world? I yeah, I don't, I don't know.
- 44:38The memes are hilarious now with the pit, the pit and ER, and
- 44:42they're all dressed in in, in those robes.
- 44:44It's one of it's one of those things where even for me, I
- 44:49think as long as you know me, you've never heard me say, take
- 44:51the Lord's name in vain. I may not be, I may not be
- 44:55religious, but but I have enough of a foundation that that I
- 44:58don't do crazy batshit things with religion, you know, because
- 45:02if God is real, you don't want to end up at judgment day.
- 45:05And you pop up there and there you are, and there's God, and
- 45:09you're sitting there going, hey, sorry.
- 45:11He's asking you about these memes, Rick.
- 45:13Why did you? Why did you do this meme of you
- 45:15as my son Jesus Christ? To attack the Pope, to tell the
- 45:21Pope to stay in there like these.
- 45:22No, I mean, this is going to make us lose some listers.
- 45:25But these bootlickers, you're in a cult, man.
- 45:28You're in a cult. And I'm not against Republicans
- 45:30at all. I think there's a lot of good
- 45:31Republicans out there. But why?
- 45:33Why is no one, why is no one stepping in on any of these
- 45:38situations? Well, you own the OK, You have
- 45:40the House, you have the Senate. And they're all afraid.
- 45:42OK, You have you have 36 months left.
- 45:45That's it. You do you understand?
- 45:4736 months he's gone. Well, and they're going to lose
- 45:50the house in No, they're. Gonna I think gonna lose it
- 45:53midterm, don't you? Yes.
- 45:54So yeah, that's what I mean. In November, they're going to
- 45:57lose the House. The Senate is in play now.
- 45:59So it's like, shouldn't you be thinking like about yourself at
- 46:04this stage of the game? If you're a Republican and
- 46:07you're in a district that is close, even some of these
- 46:10districts that he won by huge margins, Democrats have won now.
- 46:15So I it's like, what are these people thinking is I'm going,
- 46:20good God, you are going to lose. Like you have got to, you have
- 46:24got to get a spine and break away from him.
- 46:27Otherwise you're just ending yourself at this at this point.
- 46:31Well. At the end of the day, I mean,
- 46:32it really is. It's so crazy if, if Barack
- 46:36Obama or if Bill Clinton or just, I mean, just any, anybody
- 46:42did these things and then they defend it.
- 46:44Oh, he the biggest thing I hate is he's joking.
- 46:47Yes, he's not he does not joke. I don't think that man.
- 46:51He does not have no time to tell a joke, right.
- 46:53He and he doesn't have a sense of humor so.
- 46:55Those are the two. He does not.
- 46:56No, he is. When he when he put himself up
- 47:00as the Pope, he meant it, yes. When he puts himself up as gone,
- 47:03he means it, yes. I mean, look at the big arch
- 47:06that he's trying to get freaking done.
- 47:07It's like, you know, even when the door Dasher, it was
- 47:10hilarious. The door Dasher dropped off the
- 47:12food. Did you see the outside of the
- 47:14Oval Office with that, that shanty gold bull?
- 47:16I mean it just. Looks like it's all over, have
- 47:18you not? Seen that yet?
- 47:19It looks like Rome. It's like what?
- 47:21Yes, it's all, it's all over. And it like it's, there's some
- 47:25for like The West Wing. There's because Katie Collins,
- 47:30Kate Collins, whatever her name is from CNN, she's yeah, she's
- 47:34the one that started posting pictures.
- 47:36It's been up for a while, like quite a few months.
- 47:38And she was posting pictures. And so people on Blue Sky were
- 47:41like, oh, they're having to list where things are because he's
- 47:44fucking getting lost. That's what people are
- 47:50speculating. But yeah, everything he has,
- 47:54he's desecrated everything with that cheap ass gold shit that's
- 47:58all over the White House so well he wants.
- 48:01And and, and again, it's like, why does everything have to be
- 48:04in your name? What?
- 48:05What I mean, you know. Because here, because of This is
- 48:08why because his name is trademarked.
- 48:11So he gets paid. So when it's like the Trump
- 48:15Kennedy Center, he gets paid. When he wants his name as an
- 48:19airport like Trump, whatever airport, he's going to get paid
- 48:23like he's he gets paid because his name is branded and so and.
- 48:28I look at it and. So he gets paid.
- 48:30Yeah, but, but it's like when you win awards, you know what
- 48:34I'm saying? They're supposed to be a
- 48:35surprise, you know what I'm saying?
- 48:36Or like you're supposed to have a body of work where you are.
- 48:40Like, if you're going to be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame,
- 48:43it's, it's not you. It's not you going and vying for
- 48:46the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. You know.
- 48:48Because it's better for that. Someone goes, oh, you're going
- 48:51to be in the rock. You know, you get voted in the
- 48:53Rock and Roll Hall of Fame or whatever it is.
- 48:55Your peers recognize you for like your body of work, it's.
- 48:59And you and, and they will so, so at the end of the day, if, if
- 49:04in, in the end with our presidents, you know, if you've
- 49:08done something great or our community leaders or any of
- 49:10these people, most of our community leaders, 99.9% are
- 49:15selfless in, in the, in service or devotion of service, right?
- 49:20And so then they, they get awarded whatever down the road.
- 49:24It's like, oh, this is the, you know, so and so part or
- 49:27whatever. But you personally don't go out
- 49:29and go, this this is the Trump part.
- 49:32It's just in poor taste. And then to sit there and I
- 49:35mean, that one video where he goes because we can't pay for,
- 49:38we can't pay for child care. We can't pay for Medicare,
- 49:40Medicaid, because we got a war to fight.
- 49:42Yeah. You know, just he continually
- 49:44digs himself deeper. And then you've got Mike Johnson
- 49:47going up. That's my president.
- 49:49Like Mother Humper, I cannot wait till your dumb ass is out.
- 49:51Oh my gosh, I know. Yeah.
- 49:53And like you touched on the grandma, the DoorDash grandma,
- 49:57Yes. And how he tries to ask her
- 49:59questions and come to find out, like she's having to DoorDash
- 50:03because her husband has stage 4 cancer.
- 50:06So it's like she should be at home taking care of her husband.
- 50:09We should have healthcare. We should have retirement enough
- 50:14that these people can live on it that they're not having to take
- 50:16up second jobs as a DoorDash or, or whatever is going on.
- 50:20But yeah, I thought that was crazy.
- 50:22Plus, everything is public record.
- 50:24And so they went and and they dug up her taxes and guess what?
- 50:27She doesn't even, I mean, she didn't even make enough money to
- 50:30qualify for, you know, for. The no tips, yeah.
- 50:32Right, right. Yeah.
- 50:34So it, it so it's again, it's one of those things where
- 50:36everything and everything's a, you know, and, and a lot of
- 50:39people are like, well, how did she be able to walk up?
- 50:40Well, of course. Trump It was staged, yes.
- 50:43Everything. Everything's staged.
- 50:44It's the same thing as putting that the Tesla cars out on the
- 50:46front lawn to go, Yes, Elon Musk needs your help.
- 50:49Come buy a car. Yeah, it's like it is.
- 50:51It's nothing but snake oil. Yeah.
- 50:53It's nothing but snake oil and, and people still, you know when
- 50:58people say, oh, his approval rate is 33%, it shouldn't even
- 51:01be 33%. No, like, who are these people?
- 51:04I know I do. They're they're.
- 51:07All. I see them all on Facebook.
- 51:08They're there. When I see that too, I'm going
- 51:11who is who are these 30% that are still hanging on like what
- 51:16is wrong with you people like. You are in a cult.
- 51:19You're in a cult. I mean we had.
- 51:21I have a former Co worker that has now retired and he's taking
- 51:24up the Trump flag. And so he's so he's bashing on
- 51:28radio listeners and radio people were on his page because he's a
- 51:31big Trump supporter and and one person he literally says he
- 51:34goes, well, I don't agree with it, blah, blah.
- 51:36And he goes leave the country. Now you know me, I was fucking
- 51:39take a stand any day on that. It's like I am American.
- 51:41I was born here and and I'm not gonna leave just because of your
- 51:44your Cheeto orange Hitler. Right.
- 51:47You know, I'm saying and, and if you want to know, you know, if
- 51:49I'm willing to die for my country on that, absolutely give
- 51:52me a gun. And no, I got no problem
- 51:54defending our, our great nation from psychotic people.
- 51:59You know, really, honestly, that's, that's the most, you
- 52:01know, and then and then it's, it's just insane.
- 52:04And so for me, it is blasphemy packing the whether I agree or
- 52:08disagree with any of that, it's like, you know, you got the, you
- 52:11got the complete Catholic Church.
- 52:13Really, you're going to go pick a fight with the Pope?
- 52:14Right. And you as the president like
- 52:17that, that's what again, yes, it's the highest office in the
- 52:21land. Like you need to have some
- 52:23decency and but I that's never happened.
- 52:26So I don't, I mean we shouldn't start back now.
- 52:29You know, I think everything that everybody said was going to
- 52:32happen has happened to where they all said the second
- 52:34presidency was going to be retribution.
- 52:36Yes. And it was going to know from
- 52:37the first time. Yes, and that's what I think
- 52:40again, because the first term he had people around him who were
- 52:45telling him, no, you can't not not a good idea, we can't do
- 52:48this, blah, blah, blah. And so I think the first term
- 52:52would have looked like this term if those people weren't there.
- 52:56But now in the second term, those people are not there.
- 52:59Those people are the yes men's that I agree with, like Mike
- 53:03Johnson, JD Vance, who just became Catholic not that long
- 53:08ago. It's like dude.
- 53:09But but Judy Vance does the whole thing.
- 53:11But JD Vance, oh, he's just kidding.
- 53:13He's just kidding. He's just.
- 53:14Kidding. No.
- 53:15I will never if, if, if if I dislike Trump, I dislike Jaden
- 53:19Vance even more. You know why?
- 53:21Because JD Vance at least knows what he's doing.
- 53:23And JD Vance is a sellout because in the beginning he was
- 53:26against him and then now he's like.
- 53:29I have a huge list of people that are again against him that
- 53:31are in his cabinet. Lindsey Graham was against him.
- 53:34Now look at that guy like. Yep, No, no, to me it's like
- 53:37never, never in a million years. And and I got no problem at this
- 53:41whole this whole, you know, like go to the polls.
- 53:43You bet I will. You want to go wait 12 hours at
- 53:45the poll. I won't vote for you.
- 53:47So, and I'm an American, you know, it's like that.
- 53:49So, so I'm for me, I'm like, bring it on voting act, bring it
- 53:52on because I will show up to not vote for you.
- 53:55Right. But you're a guy, so it's going
- 53:57to be easier for US women. No, I get it, but I think.
- 53:59If all this stuff right goes into effect, we're going to have
- 54:03to prove like if we have our husband's last name, they're
- 54:06trying to make it difficult for us.
- 54:08I. Know I know they are it's
- 54:09ridiculous. I I thought the best piece of
- 54:12thing that would so when Trump got re elected, my son Logan,
- 54:15who it is his birthday today. So happy birthday, Logan, but
- 54:17his birthday Logan. Yeah.
- 54:19So one of the things that Logan had said was you and I, dad, are
- 54:22going to be fun. And I said, I said, why are we
- 54:25going to be fine? He goes well, we're white and
- 54:26we're men. White men.
- 54:28That's what he said. That's exactly what he said.
- 54:30When Trump got reelected, my son called me up out of the blue and
- 54:33goes, he goes, we'll be fine, Dad.
- 54:35And I said, really? I said, I said Trump's a piece
- 54:37of crap. And he goes, well, yeah, but
- 54:39we're white and we're mental. All right.
- 54:42Is that all? Is that all we have to?
- 54:44Off the soapbox. Oh, to say.
- 54:46About that. Man, that's kind of a downer
- 54:48note, huh? I know I didn't.
- 54:49I wanted to, I wanted to ask you about the dude in the Bahamas,
- 54:52but like we'll have to save that for.
- 54:54The dude in the Bahamas. Yeah, have you not seen that
- 54:56story about his wife that is like missing I'll.
- 55:00Go research it and come back next.
- 55:02Time. Oh, she fell off the dingy.
- 55:03Yeah, yeah, yeah. He didn't get charged, but yeah,
- 55:07it's a whole, it's a whole thing.
- 55:09Yeah, she's still missing. And he had said they released
- 55:12him. They had him in custody for like
- 55:14six days or something questioning him.
- 55:15They didn't charge him. They released him and he said he
- 55:18was going to stay there and look for her.
- 55:19Well, now he's left because he says his mother is ill, so he
- 55:24had to leave the Bahamas. I don't know.
- 55:26They had, she had been saying she was going to leave him prior
- 55:29to this. So it's just, yeah, it's shady
- 55:32all around. Like like Natalie Wood's shady.
- 55:35Yeah, that's like, yeah. Natalie Wood and Robert Wagner.
- 55:38Where where she just. Well, she felt a report and.
- 55:42Yeah. And never saw Natalie Wood ever
- 55:43again, even though her and Robert Wagner, I'm not saying
- 55:45that anything happened. I don't really don't know.
- 55:47But Robert Wagner, like, never, you know.
- 55:50Yeah. But they said that they had
- 55:51fought. Yeah.
- 55:52And then suddenly she's gone. Yeah, yeah.
- 55:54Anyway, that that's the condensed version of that story.
- 55:57I just wanted to ask you what you thought, if you thought he
- 55:59was guilty, but you don't even know the story so.
- 56:01Well, I'll go. I'll go research it, but the
- 56:03odds are he is. That's it for today's episode of
- 56:07Rick and That Michelle J, thanks for hanging out with us.
