A man accused of sending a fake ransom demand to the family of missing Nancy Guthrie has pleaded guilty to harassment, admitting he tried to scam them out of bitcoin. Forty-two-year-old Derrick Callella from California was quickly identified by the FBI as part of a hoax and now faces up to five years on federal probation.
