- 1:17Speaker 3: which means it's preview night for college football in the NFL.
- 1:20Speaker 3: Rafael Esparza here in just a bit. We'll talk all
- 1:23Speaker 3: kinds of sports gaming. We've got some breaking news on
- 1:26Speaker 3: Sam Levitt. We'll see if Esparza and the bookies have
- 1:28Speaker 3: adjusted the lines. And, of course, Joseph Lissy, SiriusXM, will
- 1:31Speaker 3: join us around 815, 820. We'll talk those games with
- 1:34Speaker 3: him as well. Let's go ahead. Without further ado, bring
- 1:37Speaker 3: in Rafael Esparza, my man, on a Wednesday. Esparza, always
- 1:41Speaker 3: glad to see you, brother.
- 1:43Speaker 1: Always good to see you. Almost had to cancel because
- 1:45Speaker 1: my phone blew up with this LSU news coming in.
- 1:49Speaker 1: I don't believe it. I think Kiffin's part of my French.
- 1:53Speaker 1: I hope the kids are sleeping. Fucking with us right now.
- 1:58Speaker 1: This would be huge if he doesn't play. Do you
- 2:03Speaker 1: know why he's in it? I just saw listed, and
- 2:05Speaker 1: I mean, like I said, I was doing– I'm not
- 2:07Speaker 1: going to lie. I was watching the last episode of Reacher.
- 2:09Speaker 1: I mean, I'm not going to lie.
- 2:13Speaker 4: I don't.
- 2:13Speaker 3: The only thing we have right now is what was
- 2:16Speaker 3: said earlier, and like when I say earlier, I'm talking
- 2:19Speaker 3: 15 minutes ago. 15 minutes ago.
- 2:21Speaker 1: 30 minutes ago. Like, hey, we're hearing, and I'll read
- 2:27Speaker 1: you the exact text I got. Yes. We are hearing
- 2:31Speaker 1: that Sam Levitt is doubtful for the game on Saturday
- 2:34Speaker 1: against Ole Miss. We are trying to triple confirm this,
- 2:37Speaker 1: quadruple confirm this, because we do not want to be wrong.
- 2:42Speaker 3: Yeah, and this was posted. I'll share this on the
- 2:44Speaker 3: screen real quickly. This was posted by on3. com, on X,
- 2:50Speaker 3: and I just shared it at Jake Wim. You can
- 2:52Speaker 3: see it right here. This is courtesy of on three.
- 2:55Speaker 3: This is the injury report or initial report posting out.
- 2:59Speaker 3: Philip Wright, the third Jaden Baker, rice and Guillory and
- 3:05Speaker 3: a doubtful Sam Levitt for a, and of course, again,
- 3:09Speaker 3: that's posted just so you'll know from Wilson Alexander with
- 3:13Speaker 3: on three sports. And he put that out.
- 3:16Speaker 2: 28 minutes ago, of course, as far as, and then
- 3:17Speaker 2: we're getting that news quicker than we do.
- 3:18Speaker 3: And, and even a lot of the media just because
- 3:20Speaker 3: of the sports gaming industry. So, Let's start right there.
- 3:24Speaker 3: Has the lines been taken down?
- 3:25Speaker 2: Somebody said that DraftKings or somebody removed the game off
- 3:27Speaker 2: their book.
- 3:28Speaker 1: You can't say DraftKings did. Pretty much everyone has adjusted already.
- 3:34Speaker 1: Everyone has a new number up. It's still LSU, one
- 3:37Speaker 1: and a half point favorites. Total is still 57 and
- 3:42Speaker 1: a half. FanDuel has 56 and a half. So, yeah,
- 3:48Speaker 1: I'm actually kind of speechless on this one because I
- 3:50Speaker 1: don't believe it. I don't. With all the hype, with
- 3:53Speaker 1: all the news, with all the security issues that we're
- 3:56Speaker 1: hearing here at the boot because of this game. I'm
- 3:59Speaker 1: sure you're hearing a lot of security issues going in
- 4:02Speaker 1: this game. Now, all of a sudden, he's not playing.
- 4:06Speaker 1: This is doubtful. I didn't see him get hurt. Really,
- 4:09Speaker 1: he got hurt by a Bulldogs defense, La Tech, last week. Right.
- 4:13Speaker 1: I'm scratching my head on this one. I don't maybe–
- 4:16Speaker 1: It would not shock me. They just want to keep
- 4:17Speaker 1: this game in the news, period. I mean, we have
- 4:20Speaker 1: the Buffalo Bills opening up their new stadium tomorrow with
- 4:24Speaker 1: the Detroit Lions who let the Saints score with ease
- 4:29Speaker 1: in the second half. So how do you maybe steal
- 4:31Speaker 1: away the thunder from an NFL Thursday or NFL week two?
- 4:35Speaker 1: The biggest game of maybe college football this year is
- 4:40Speaker 1: LSU Ole Miss. So why don't we put a monkey
- 4:42Speaker 1: wrench in it so we can talk about it?
- 4:44Speaker 3: No, and I agree with you. Somebody had mentioned that
- 4:47Speaker 3: in a text group. I mean, they said, hey, could
- 4:48Speaker 3: this be gamesmanship or not gamesmanship?
- 4:50Speaker 1: Could this be.
- 4:50Speaker 3: Lane being Lane out here playing with everybody?
- 4:56Speaker 1: All the reports that I'm seeing, and I saw the
- 4:58Speaker 1: one from Pete Damo, I saw the one on 1-3
- 5:01Speaker 1: and all the people that I'm talking to, they're saying doubtful,
- 5:04Speaker 1: but they're not saying why he's doubtful. They're not saying knee, shoulder, family.
- 5:09Speaker 1: They're not saying anything. They're just saying doubtful. I mean,
- 5:13Speaker 1: I was doubtful for my back surgery, but I could
- 5:14Speaker 1: probably play a game if I was getting millions of dollars.
- 5:18Speaker 4: No, you're right.
- 5:18Speaker 3: You're right. So does that change how you feel about–
- 5:24Speaker 3: About the outcome of this ballgame.
- 5:25Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, huge. Without Sam Levitt, I think LSU has
- 5:29Speaker 1: no chance of winning. Yeah. No, I would agree. I mean,
- 5:33Speaker 1: you're trying to tell me Chamberlain versus– I don't even
- 5:35Speaker 1: know who's the backup quarterback for LSU. I don't even
- 5:36Speaker 1: know who the backup quarterback is, to be honest with you.
- 5:40Speaker 3: I'm not sure either. I'm not sure either. All right,
- 5:42Speaker 3: let's jump into some of these games for this week and,
- 5:44Speaker 3: of course, kind of chalk through. First, let's go to
- 5:47Speaker 3: the NFL and let's go to tomorrow night. We've got
- 5:50Speaker 3: a big NFL game. Detroit Lions at the Buffalo Bills.
- 5:53Speaker 3: Right now I'm looking at it courtesy of Penn Gaming
- 5:56Speaker 3: and other books that I've got pulled up here. Buffalo
- 5:58Speaker 3: minus five, that total at 54 and a half. Both
- 6:01Speaker 3: got wins in week one. They're both 1-0. Should be
- 6:03Speaker 3: a great Thursday night matchup.
- 6:06Speaker 1: Yeah, I think if you wanted to take the Bills,
- 6:07Speaker 1: you should have taken it this morning when there were
- 6:09Speaker 1: still fours out there and four and a half. This
- 6:11Speaker 1: will probably be a solid six because people who are
- 6:14Speaker 1: not novice football enthusiasts in the nfl they're gonna turn
- 6:19Speaker 1: on the tv a half hour before the game starts
- 6:22Speaker 1: and like holy crap buffalo's opening up the new stadium
- 6:24Speaker 1: holy crap they're gonna do all this detroit let the
- 6:27Speaker 1: saints almost beat them uh on week one if it
- 6:31Speaker 1: wasn't for a failed two-point conversion uh i think they're
- 6:34Speaker 1: gonna keep on pounding buffalo so i wouldn't shock me
- 6:37Speaker 1: if we see a six or six and a half
- 6:39Speaker 1: uh the way that detroit defense looked at last on
- 6:41Speaker 1: sunday was awful Let's shift to college.
- 6:44Speaker 3: Friday night, we got a good one.
- 6:45Speaker 4: Houston, man.
- 6:46Speaker 3: The Houston– I said this in the offseason. The Houston Cougars,
- 6:50Speaker 3: they were the quietest 10-win team in football last year.
- 6:52Speaker 3: They won 10 ballgames. Texas Tech at home, seven-and-a-half point
- 6:56Speaker 3: spread in favor of the Red Raiders. That totals at
- 7:00Speaker 3: 53 when we see some wild, wild football on Friday night.
- 7:03Speaker 1: Yeah, when's the last time we saw Texas Tech total
- 7:05Speaker 1: this low? That just tells the respect that they're giving Houston.
- 7:09Speaker 1: And I love that half a point on Houston. Yeah.
- 7:11Speaker 1: If Texas Tech jumps on them early with their high-power offense,
- 7:15Speaker 1: I think it could be a long day for Houston.
- 7:17Speaker 1: But it's all about defense. This is one of those games,
- 7:20Speaker 1: live bet it. Wait to see how Houston plays defense
- 7:23Speaker 1: in the first quarter or how's the game going. What's
- 7:25Speaker 1: the tempo like? Because we saw tempo in Texas, Ohio State.
- 7:29Speaker 1: Remember me and you were talking about that. I don't
- 7:31Speaker 1: understand why were people betting this all the way up
- 7:32Speaker 1: to total 49.5. What happened? I had it. I had
- 7:36Speaker 1: it under in the game. Tempo in college football is
- 7:40Speaker 1: so huge. It makes you look at the tempo in
- 7:42Speaker 1: this game.
- 7:44Speaker 3: Oh, you're absolutely correct.
- 7:45Speaker 2: Arkansas looks so bad. I don't know how much you
- 7:47Speaker 2: watch that.
- 7:47Speaker 3: I watched a little bit of Arkansas, a half of
- 7:49Speaker 3: Arkansas and Utah the other night and then said, I'm
- 7:52Speaker 3: going to bed. They look terrible. They are a 25
- 7:55Speaker 3: and a half point dog against Georgia. No pun intended.
- 7:58Speaker 3: Total at 54 and a half. Anyway, they stay in
- 7:59Speaker 3: this number.
- 8:01Speaker 1: I know, and I like the over in this one.
- 8:04Speaker 1: We've seen it with Miami. We've seen it with other teams.
- 8:06Speaker 1: We've seen it at Notre Dame. Style points are going
- 8:09Speaker 1: to mean a lot this year because there's so many
- 8:11Speaker 1: good teams. It wouldn't shock me to see Georgia put
- 8:13Speaker 1: up 60-plus on this team.
- 8:14Speaker 3: I don't want to call it a hot seat game
- 8:17Speaker 3: Saturday at 11, but it may be just that. North
- 8:19Speaker 3: Carolina at Clemson. Clemson's minus three. Total's at 43. Bill Belichick,
- 8:23Speaker 3: Davo Swinney.
- 8:25Speaker 1: Who you got? Did the loser get fired? Is that
- 8:27Speaker 1: what you're saying? Could be. Is that what you're saying? Yeah,
- 8:31Speaker 1: I think it's– I think Dabble wins this one. I'm
- 8:35Speaker 1: still not 100% sold on North Carolina. Yes, they won
- 8:37Speaker 1: game one in Dublin, but this has got to be Dabble.
- 8:40Speaker 1: I mean, just the negative news. I mean, the story
- 8:42Speaker 1: came out how he told Camara he was going to
- 8:46Speaker 1: recruit him. Dabble is just being– his name is being
- 8:50Speaker 1: dragged through the mud the last couple of years.
- 8:52Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 8:53Speaker 3: No, it is. Great one at 230.
- 8:54Speaker 2: I say a great one. A really good one out
- 8:56Speaker 2: of the ACC.
- 8:57Speaker 3: SMU at Louisville. Both teams ranked in the APA. At
- 9:00Speaker 3: 16 for SMU, 23rd for Louisville. Louisville's a slight favorite,
- 9:03Speaker 3: minus two. Totals at 59. What would you say if
- 9:06Speaker 3: I told you I thought the wrong team was favored?
- 9:09Speaker 1: I would hate you for that because what did I
- 9:11Speaker 1: tell you before football season started? I thought Louisville could
- 9:14Speaker 1: win the ACC. So this right here would prove my
- 9:18Speaker 1: point if they do or they don't. You need this
- 9:21Speaker 1: game in your backyard if you're going to be contenders,
- 9:25Speaker 1: not for your conference, just in college football in general.
- 9:28Speaker 1: This is a great win if you can get this
- 9:31Speaker 1: one at home. I got to stick with my guns, Louisville.
- 9:35Speaker 3: No, and I think it's a great game. Kentucky hung
- 9:37Speaker 3: with Alabama for a half, and then Bama's, I think, experience,
- 9:41Speaker 3: and then also just talent.
- 9:42Speaker 2: More money, better talent, took over against Kentucky.
- 9:46Speaker 3: Are we going to see the same thing down at
- 9:47Speaker 3: College Station with Kentucky at Texas A & M? Aggies
- 9:49Speaker 3: a 16-and-a-half point favorite. That totals a 50-and-a-half.
- 9:52Speaker 1: Yeah, what's the mindset of Kentucky right now? You host Alabama.
- 9:56Speaker 1: You maybe think this is maybe our year to beat Alabama.
- 10:00Speaker 1: because it's not the same Alabama team that's come to
- 10:02Speaker 1: Lexington year after year, and you have a horrible end
- 10:06Speaker 1: of the third quarter and a horrible fourth quarter. Yeah,
- 10:09Speaker 1: what's their mentality? The A & M whacks them.
- 10:12Speaker 3: Big one for the state of Mississippi and inside the SEC,
- 10:15Speaker 3: Camario Taylor, Mississippi State. They took care of Minnesota last
- 10:18Speaker 3: week easily. They travel to South Carolina. They're a three-and-a-half-point dog,
- 10:22Speaker 3: and that total is at 58-and-a-half. So far, so good
- 10:26Speaker 3: for Jeff Levy and Mississippi State.
- 10:28Speaker 1: Yeah, I have to apologize. I think on your show
- 10:30Speaker 1: I leaned towards Minnesota and under. I lost both of them,
- 10:34Speaker 1: so I apologize for that one. Man, but that's a
- 10:38Speaker 1: hard place to steal a road game in South Carolina.
- 10:41Speaker 1: I'm going to pass on this one. Yeah, this was
- 10:45Speaker 1: a two-one because I was so impressed with Mississippi State
- 10:48Speaker 1: last week. I don't want to stick my foot in
- 10:49Speaker 1: my mouth back-to-back Wednesday nights with you.
- 10:53Speaker 3: No, I get it.
- 10:53Speaker 4: Look, it's tough.
- 10:54Speaker 3: I mean, Mississippi State doesn't play South Carolina every year,
- 10:56Speaker 3: but the last time they beat South Carolina was 1998
- 10:59Speaker 3: in South Carolina. They've lost about four games since then.
- 11:02Speaker 3: You were in high school still, right?
- 11:04Speaker 1: You were still in high school.
- 11:06Speaker 3: In 1998, right? 98. I was actually a sophomore at
- 11:09Speaker 3: Mississippi State, believe it or not. Almost high school. Almost
- 11:13Speaker 3: high school. But you were close on that. Florida goes
- 11:17Speaker 3: to Auburn. Florida's a two-and-a-half point favorite. That total's at 53-and-a-half.
- 11:21Speaker 3: Auburn has looked okay. I mean, they got the week
- 11:23Speaker 3: one win against Baylor. Byron Brown has not lived up
- 11:25Speaker 3: to the hype so far. Which one of these new coaches,
- 11:29Speaker 3: these group of six coaches turned SEC coaches, wins on Saturday?
- 11:33Speaker 1: Am I crazy if I think the Gators can steal
- 11:35Speaker 1: this road game? I'm going to wait to see what
- 11:37Speaker 1: this number does. I mean, it's a 6 or 7
- 11:39Speaker 1: o'clock Eastern Standard Time. It's 2, 2 1⁄2. If I
- 11:42Speaker 1: can get a better number on the Gators, which I
- 11:44Speaker 1: think they can run the ball against Auburn, you know
- 11:47Speaker 1: the rules. Control the line of scrimmage. Control the run game.
- 11:50Speaker 1: You win games. I think that's the path for Florida victory.
- 11:54Speaker 3: Yet again, that LSU line, if you're just joining us,
- 11:56Speaker 3: has dropped to minus 1 1⁄2 because Sam Levitt's doubtful.
- 12:00Speaker 3: At this point, if you're gaming, do you even game
- 12:02Speaker 3: this game at this point?
- 12:04Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah, because now you're going to get flooded.
- 12:08Speaker 1: This is one of those games that I wish I
- 12:10Speaker 1: was in the counter because right now everyone is just
- 12:13Speaker 1: waxing Ole Miss money, Ole Miss money. And if Kane
- 12:16Speaker 1: pulls the rug, Lane Kiffin pulls the rug, yeah, this
- 12:19Speaker 1: is a bad middle spot for books right here. But
- 12:22Speaker 1: you keep this one open because now it just boosted
- 12:26Speaker 1: up the value of watching and betting this game.
- 12:30Speaker 3: And of course, that's going to be the, you know,
- 12:32Speaker 3: the excitement on the nightcap. Let's roll over to the
- 12:34Speaker 3: NFL while I got you for a little bit. And
- 12:35Speaker 3: of course, we'll visit with you tomorrow at 430. We
- 12:37Speaker 3: talked a little bit about Buffalo and Detroit. You've got
- 12:42Speaker 3: looking through this list here. You know, how about the
- 12:45Speaker 3: Bears and the Vikings? The Vikings doing it with a
- 12:48Speaker 3: different quarterback. Vikings go into Chicago. Chicago is a four
- 12:51Speaker 3: and a half point favorite. That totals at 48 and
- 12:52Speaker 3: a half.
- 12:53Speaker 1: Now, we might see some weather on this game because
- 12:57Speaker 1: the number came down a little bit. It was 49.5.
- 12:59Speaker 1: Everyone thought, oh, it's going to be 50, 51.5. This
- 13:03Speaker 1: reminds me of the Texas-Ohio State. Everyone thinks this game
- 13:06Speaker 1: is going to go over. Everyone thinks fireworks are going
- 13:09Speaker 1: to happen. I lean towards the under depending on how
- 13:11Speaker 1: bad the weather might be. I would jump on the 48.5.
- 13:15Speaker 1: I think this one goes under. I think the Bears
- 13:18Speaker 1: win this one, but I was really impressed. With Minnesota,
- 13:22Speaker 1: I can't think of anything. Carson Wentz, three touchdown passes
- 13:25Speaker 1: and zero INTs. He wasn't prepared to play that game.
- 13:29Speaker 3: No, he wasn't. The Patriots need a win. They lost
- 13:32Speaker 3: open week. They are a five-point favorite against the Steelers
- 13:34Speaker 3: at home. Total 41.5.
- 13:36Speaker 2: Steelers get the win and go to 2-0, or do
- 13:38Speaker 2: the Patriots get to 1-1?
- 13:40Speaker 1: I'm trying to figure out who's the wide receiver for
- 13:42Speaker 1: the Patriots now. Brown out. This one's going to be interesting.
- 13:46Speaker 1: I think the Patriots win this one. Don't forget, the
- 13:49Speaker 1: Pittsburgh Steelers won because of Watt having an interception to
- 13:53Speaker 1: run back for a touchdown. If that wasn't for that,
- 13:55Speaker 1: the Falcons win that game.
- 13:57Speaker 3: Commanders at the Cowboys.
- 13:59Speaker 2: Cowboys are 0-1, off to a rough start.
- 14:01Speaker 3: Good game against the Giants the other night. Dallas giving
- 14:04Speaker 3: up four, laying four. That totals at 50-and-a-half. That's a
- 14:06Speaker 3: 325 ballgame on Sunday.
- 14:09Speaker 1: I like Dallas. Yes, they looked bad, and the Giants
- 14:13Speaker 1: looked really good, but it was the 25th anniversary of 9-11,
- 14:16Speaker 1: and you're going to New York to play that game?
- 14:19Speaker 1: I'm sorry. Sometimes you just have to tip your hat off,
- 14:22Speaker 1: and I think the Cowboys are going to bounce back
- 14:24Speaker 1: and have a great showing at home in Jerry's world.
- 14:27Speaker 1: I love the Cowboys this weekend.
- 14:28Speaker 2: Let's go one more.
- 14:29Speaker 3: Monday night, the Giants, so as we said, got that
- 14:31Speaker 3: 1-0 start against the Cowboys. They travel to the Rams,
- 14:33Speaker 3: who got just beat to sleep against the 49ers across
- 14:37Speaker 3: the pond. Rams a seven-point favorite. That totals at 48.
- 14:39Speaker 3: Does Sean McVay and that team, do they bounce back?
- 14:45Speaker 1: I think they win by like three points. I'll take
- 14:47Speaker 1: the plus points. I'll take the seven, seven and a half.
- 14:50Speaker 1: The only thing that scares me about the Giants, yes,
- 14:51Speaker 1: impressive win. But this quarterback and this winning back, Cam Scadamou,
- 14:55Speaker 1: they don't– They play 110%, and one of these times,
- 14:59Speaker 1: both of them are going to be in a blue
- 15:01Speaker 1: tent at the same time. They need to think that
- 15:05Speaker 1: it's a seven-game year. This is not one game. It's
- 15:08Speaker 1: not the Super Bowl. Week one is not the Super Bowl.
- 15:11Speaker 3: No, you're right. Tell everybody where to find you, and
- 15:12Speaker 3: we're going to let you on your way, and we
- 15:13Speaker 3: will visit tomorrow.
- 15:15Speaker 1: You can find me on exitvsi.sports. You can find me
- 15:17Speaker 1: on Instagram at Rafael Esparza, and you can find me
- 15:20Speaker 1: tomorrow on Jake's show. And don't forget to use the
- 15:22Speaker 1: promo code patio at my bookie when you sign up.
- 15:25Speaker 4: Very good.
- 15:25Speaker 3: Esparza, have a great night.
- 15:26Speaker 1: Talk to you tomorrow. Take it easy.
- 15:28Speaker 3: Yeah, get in and use that promo code patio as
- 15:32Speaker 3: we let Rafael Esparza go and get ready for our
- 15:35Speaker 3: next guest. Of course, again, we're going to get to
- 15:37Speaker 3: him with Joseph Lissy here in just a bit. Again,
- 15:40Speaker 3: if you missed it, breaking news about 40 minutes ago,
- 15:44Speaker 3: Sam Levitt is listed as doubtful for LSU. And let
- 15:49Speaker 3: me set this up real quick and get ready to
- 15:52Speaker 3: get Joseph in here Real quickly, we'll go ahead and
- 15:55Speaker 3: bring him in. Joseph, welcome in, brother. How are you?
- 15:57Speaker 4: Oh, the calm before the storm, Jake. This is great.
- 16:02Speaker 4: Breaking news. Unbelievable. Out of Baton Rouge. I'm shocked. I
- 16:07Speaker 4: just got home from the gym. I'm reading about it now.
- 16:10Speaker 4: It's like crazy. But, you know, from the gambling perspective,
- 16:14Speaker 4: if you took Ole Miss, you're definitely capitalizing on that
- 16:19Speaker 4: move right now.
- 16:20Speaker 3: No, and look, is this– and people have already started
- 16:22Speaker 3: asking this. Is this– a Lane Kiffin move to mess
- 16:26Speaker 3: with everybody. I mean, I don't even know how to
- 16:29Speaker 3: take this. I mean, with everything that's gone on this
- 16:30Speaker 3: week with, you know, I saw a list today put
- 16:33Speaker 3: out by the Mississippi Highway Patrol. There's going to be
- 16:34Speaker 3: like 80 additional highway patrolmen. The New Orleans Police Department's
- 16:39Speaker 3: coming with horses. Boy, they have just made this thing
- 16:42Speaker 3: a spectacle, which we figured they would.
- 16:44Speaker 4: Yeah, absolutely. And again, you know, Lane comes out and
- 16:47Speaker 4: says the pressure's on Golding, Trinidad, and Kiwan Lacey. And
- 16:51Speaker 4: I think that's complete window dressing. I really think that,
- 16:54Speaker 4: you know, he's the one getting $ 91 million, right? He's
- 16:57Speaker 4: the one $ 13 million a year to erase all of
- 17:00Speaker 4: the negativity for the last three years of Brian Kelly.
- 17:04Speaker 4: And what do you have to show for it right now? Again...
- 17:08Speaker 4: I've said this, and I've been banging this drum for
- 17:13Speaker 4: a long time, Jake, in the offseason, and I'll stick
- 17:16Speaker 4: to it. I don't believe the weakness of LSU was
- 17:20Speaker 4: their offense, and I understand what Nussmeier and that offensive
- 17:23Speaker 4: line last year, they couldn't run the football. But all
- 17:27Speaker 4: you hear is everybody's in love with the defense, and
- 17:30Speaker 4: that's true when they play just a pocket passer like
- 17:32Speaker 4: Chris Vazina against Clemson, and they're able to get after it.
- 17:36Speaker 4: They have 12 sacks. through two games, but you look
- 17:39Speaker 4: at the games that they've lost. And my daughter went
- 17:42Speaker 4: to LSU, you know, she doesn't go there anymore, but I,
- 17:45Speaker 4: you know, I look at these games objectively and I'll
- 17:48Speaker 4: say mobile quarterbacks give LSU's defense problems. Now we're not
- 17:53Speaker 4: talking about the Glenn Dorsey, Patrick Peterson, honey badger. We're
- 17:57Speaker 4: not talking about those defense. I'm talking specifically about, since
- 18:01Speaker 4: Blake Baker's arrived at Baton Rouge from Missouri, go back
- 18:05Speaker 4: to the losses. The losses are glaring against mobile guys.
- 18:10Speaker 4: And people will say, well, look at Lenora Sellers last
- 18:13Speaker 4: year and DJ Lagby. Florida and South Carolina, when they
- 18:18Speaker 4: played them, had terrible offensive play. Terrible. The offensive line
- 18:23Speaker 4: for South Carolina was one of the worst. I think
- 18:25Speaker 4: Sellers got sacked. 38 times last year. Go back two
- 18:28Speaker 4: years ago when the game was in Williams-Price and Lenora
- 18:32Speaker 4: Sellers and Rocket Sanders were running all over LSU. And
- 18:37Speaker 4: Milrow two years ago rushed for 150 yards on LSU.
- 18:41Speaker 4: And Marcel Reed rushed for three touchdowns on LSU. You know,
- 18:47Speaker 4: Pavia converted multiple plays outside the pocket. Chambliss, they couldn't
- 18:51Speaker 4: get off the field on third down. When you look
- 18:54Speaker 4: at it from the football aspect, and people will say
- 18:56Speaker 4: this defense is different. Well, show me. That's what LSU
- 19:01Speaker 4: has to do, and that's why the pressure is on
- 19:03Speaker 4: Lane Kiffin, and more importantly, Blake Baker. He gets a pass.
- 19:08Speaker 4: They love him. He gets $ 3. 5 million, but nobody wants
- 19:11Speaker 4: to call him out because his defenses get abused by
- 19:14Speaker 4: athletic quarterbacks. So until that changes, the best quarterback on
- 19:18Speaker 4: the field is... with or without Sam Levitt was the
- 19:21Speaker 4: guy in Oxford that I thought was the best quarterback
- 19:24Speaker 4: last year and should have been taken number one over
- 19:27Speaker 4: Fernando Mendoza. And I'm sorry. I'll, I know it's against
- 19:31Speaker 4: the grain, but I'm tired of it. You know, the
- 19:34Speaker 4: kid shameless came out of nowhere. He's the only reason
- 19:37Speaker 4: why Ole Miss was where they were last year.
- 19:41Speaker 3: I totally agree with you. Totally agree with you. And
- 19:43Speaker 3: I've said all week, I'm picking Ole Miss to win
- 19:44Speaker 3: this game for two reasons. One, if, All things are
- 19:48Speaker 3: equal and both quarterbacks are healthy. I'm taking Chamberlain. over Levitt.
- 19:51Speaker 3: And then two, the home field. I mean, I think
- 19:53Speaker 3: it matters.
- 19:54Speaker 2: You know, not that LSU's scared to go in there,
- 19:55Speaker 2: but I think, you know, to play behind that crowd.
- 19:57Speaker 3: So I'm taking Ole Miss to win.
- 19:59Speaker 4: I mean, I picked Ole Miss. Believe it or not,
- 20:02Speaker 4: I'm a homer. I'll be rooting for LSU. Don't get
- 20:05Speaker 4: me wrong. I want to see them win. But if
- 20:08Speaker 4: I'm betting this game and I'm not, my money would
- 20:11Speaker 4: be on Trinidad, Chambliss, and Ole Miss. Again, I think
- 20:14Speaker 4: Lacey and Trinidad, Chambliss are the best one-two combo. I mean...
- 20:19Speaker 4: you just look at that game against Louisville and his throws.
- 20:24Speaker 4: And Louisville had one of the best secondaries in the
- 20:27Speaker 4: ACC last year. I mean, Deuce Alexander's still running the
- 20:30Speaker 4: seam route in that matchup. Look, I hope it's a
- 20:35Speaker 4: great game. And the last two have been really close
- 20:38Speaker 4: when Jaden went there two years, three years ago, and
- 20:41Speaker 4: obviously in last year's game, but this is a different animal.
- 20:45Speaker 4: It holds a lot more weight. It holds a lot
- 20:48Speaker 4: more from perception and, and the LSU fan base, you know,
- 20:53Speaker 4: whether they want to believe it or say it or not,
- 20:56Speaker 4: they are looking at this as a gauge to where
- 20:58Speaker 4: the program is. And, and, If they lose this game
- 21:02Speaker 4: by double digits or it looks similar to Vanderbilt, what's
- 21:05Speaker 4: going to be the answer then?
- 21:08Speaker 2: No, I agree with you.
- 21:09Speaker 3: I agree with you. Granted, we've got a long way
- 21:11Speaker 3: to go and a lot of season to play, but
- 21:12Speaker 3: this will tell us a lot about both teams. All right,
- 21:16Speaker 3: let's move into some more games. Friday night, I want
- 21:17Speaker 3: to get your take on a game there on Friday night.
- 21:20Speaker 3: Houston at Texas Tech, and I told Rafael and I've
- 21:23Speaker 3: told others this, Houston to me was the quietest 10-win
- 21:26Speaker 3: team last year in college football. They're a touchdown underdog
- 21:30Speaker 3: against Texas Tech. But like we've said before, you see
- 21:33Speaker 3: some weird things on Friday night. Can they give Texas
- 21:35Speaker 3: Tech a run?
- 21:36Speaker 4: Of course they can. And again, Willie Fritz has done
- 21:39Speaker 4: a great job of narrowing the gap. You look at
- 21:42Speaker 4: the 10 wins. They knock off LSU in the Texas Bowl.
- 21:46Speaker 4: With or without backups, it didn't matter. I mean, Michael
- 21:48Speaker 4: Van Buren started that game, and they still put up
- 21:52Speaker 4: 45 points on LSU and won it. I mean, this
- 21:55Speaker 4: is a team that's confident. I think the problem, and
- 21:59Speaker 4: I've said this in the offseason too, was how much
- 22:02Speaker 4: hype Texas Tech got. Like, we just automatically penciled them
- 22:07Speaker 4: in to the college football playoff as being the head
- 22:11Speaker 4: and shoulders team in the Big 12. And they lost Rodriguez.
- 22:14Speaker 4: They lost David Bailey. And those players are not easy
- 22:19Speaker 4: to duplicate or just replicate. by plug-and-play. I need to
- 22:24Speaker 4: see it. And that defense gave up 21 points to
- 22:27Speaker 4: Braden Atkinson last week. He threw for, what, over 400 yards?
- 22:31Speaker 4: He was chucking it. And Will Hammond is nowhere near,
- 22:36Speaker 4: in my opinion, where even Barron Morton was last year.
- 22:40Speaker 4: I mean, if you go back to Will Hammond's games,
- 22:43Speaker 4: go back to the game when he took over for
- 22:45Speaker 4: Barron Morton against TCU in Fort Worth. I mean, he
- 22:48Speaker 4: lost that game. He fumbled the ball. He's a deer
- 22:51Speaker 4: in the headlights. Go to the game against Arkansas two
- 22:54Speaker 4: years ago where they got boat raced in the bowl game.
- 22:57Speaker 4: I mean, Will Hammond is good. He's not elite. This
- 23:02Speaker 4: game could be close. That being said, this is a
- 23:06Speaker 4: major spot for Texas. You're at home. You're laying seven
- 23:10Speaker 4: and a half. And, you know, you should be able
- 23:13Speaker 4: to take away the rushing attack, which then says of Houston.
- 23:18Speaker 4: then it's on Connor Wegman. And he could do it.
- 23:20Speaker 4: He's a battle-tested guy. He's played a lot better at
- 23:23Speaker 4: Houston than he did at Texas A & M. But
- 23:27Speaker 4: at home, I lean to Texas Tech. Again, not one
- 23:30Speaker 4: of my better selections for the weekend, but I think
- 23:33Speaker 4: Tech should win it in cover.
- 23:36Speaker 3: Let's move to Saturday.
- 23:37Speaker 2: Got a good slate at 2.30.
- 23:39Speaker 3: You got kind of some snoozers on the early set,
- 23:42Speaker 3: but SMU at Louisville, 2.30. Big one in the ACC.
- 23:46Speaker 2: Both of these teams have been mentioned as kind of
- 23:48Speaker 2: next team up to Miami.
- 23:50Speaker 3: Which one of these teams do you like? The line
- 23:52Speaker 3: that I've got in the shop I'm looking at, Louisville
- 23:55Speaker 3: minus two, so neutral side, this is a push.
- 23:58Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, I like Louisville. Again, I believe in
- 24:02Speaker 4: Jeff Brom. I think the defense is just a little
- 24:05Speaker 4: bit better than SMU. I think the rushing attack with
- 24:08Speaker 4: Isaac Brown and those running backs are a little bit better.
- 24:12Speaker 4: Quarterback advantage is Kevin Jennings over Kynholtz. But, you know,
- 24:17Speaker 4: seeing what Kynholtz did against Ole Miss, I mean, he
- 24:21Speaker 4: was making plays with his legs outside the pocket. Which
- 24:25Speaker 4: quarterback are we getting? Are we getting the one in
- 24:27Speaker 4: the first half or the one in the second half?
- 24:30Speaker 4: Because if you get the one in the second half,
- 24:32Speaker 4: I think it's all Louisville. Again, I think it is
- 24:35Speaker 4: Jeff Brom. That's the difference. Laying a short number, I
- 24:39Speaker 4: would lay it with the Cardinals over the Mustangs in
- 24:41Speaker 4: this matchup. But whoever wins, if it's decisive, that team
- 24:46Speaker 4: automatically becomes the second best team right behind Miami automatically.
- 24:52Speaker 4: Everybody would want to see that as the championship game.
- 24:56Speaker 3: Florida State canned their athletic director this week. That's never
- 24:59Speaker 3: a good sign for a sitting head coach. Florida State's
- 25:02Speaker 3: a 20-point dog in Tuscaloosa, where Alabama plays much better
- 25:05Speaker 3: than they do on the road. They struggled with Kentucky
- 25:07Speaker 3: a little bit first half last week, ended up pulling
- 25:09Speaker 3: away from them. If Bama runs them out of the building,
- 25:14Speaker 3: is this the last weekend for Michael Rell?
- 25:16Speaker 4: Yes, yes. Now, I don't know about that report with
- 25:19Speaker 4: the reporter asking them about the boxes and the moving trucks.
- 25:23Speaker 4: You know, again, you know, they want him out, right?
- 25:26Speaker 4: Here's the thing. I'm going to take the 19 and
- 25:29Speaker 4: a half, and it sounds crazy. You're right. Florida State
- 25:32Speaker 4: beats them last year. It's a revenge, rematch situation. They
- 25:36Speaker 4: snapped Alabama's 24-game week one winning streak. I mean, Alabama
- 25:41Speaker 4: had reeled off 24 straight week one performances. The last
- 25:47Speaker 4: loss came, I think, in Tuscaloosa, 2001-2004. to ucla and
- 25:51Speaker 4: cory poss when he was the quarterback there i gotta
- 25:54Speaker 4: double check but it was definitely ucla in 2001 and
- 25:58Speaker 4: so here's the thing keelan russell played good he didn't
- 26:03Speaker 4: play a lead he's still turnover prone with two interceptions
- 26:07Speaker 4: florida state could run it they're averaging 208 on the
- 26:09Speaker 4: ground they've had an extra week of preparation i mean
- 26:13Speaker 4: if you're not going to get florida state's you know,
- 26:15Speaker 4: uppercut or best, you know, Buster Douglas moment, if it
- 26:19Speaker 4: ain't coming in the first half or in this game,
- 26:22Speaker 4: you're never going to get it, right? And nobody's expecting
- 26:25Speaker 4: Florida State to show with an extra week of prep
- 26:28Speaker 4: against a team they beat by double digits last year,
- 26:32Speaker 4: I'm going to take a shot that this game is
- 26:34Speaker 4: closer than people think. I think there's more pressure on Alabama.
- 26:39Speaker 4: Keelan Russell's a redshirt freshman. All eyes at 3.30. It's
- 26:43Speaker 4: great to play a conference game away from home, but
- 26:46Speaker 4: Lexington is not obviously Jordan Hare or Death Valley. So
- 26:51Speaker 4: this game is a measuring stick of where Alabama was
- 26:55Speaker 4: from last year to this year. And maybe they just
- 26:58Speaker 4: have their numbers. So I don't think they'll feel fear
- 27:01Speaker 4: Alabama either. Ashton Daniels played in the iron bowl, had
- 27:04Speaker 4: a really good iron bowl last year. Deuce Robinson was
- 27:08Speaker 4: on the team last year with Castellanos. I'm going to
- 27:10Speaker 4: take the 19 and a half, but I believe if he,
- 27:13Speaker 4: if they lose by 30, he's gone by Monday.
- 27:17Speaker 3: No, I agree with you a hundred percent. Um, moving
- 27:19Speaker 3: on to three 15, um, Mississippi State handled Minnesota easily.
- 27:25Speaker 3: In this state, and you know, I mean, it's Mississippi
- 27:26Speaker 3: State and Ole Miss. And for the last several years,
- 27:29Speaker 3: it's been all Ole Miss. And the biggest divide we've
- 27:31Speaker 3: seen in the state in my lifetime, I'm 50, that
- 27:33Speaker 3: we've ever seen between State and Ole Miss. Having said that,
- 27:36Speaker 3: State fans can taste it. They're eager. They've got a
- 27:40Speaker 3: hero in Kamario Taylor. Their nickname in this guy, I mean,
- 27:45Speaker 3: it's just been Kamario. If we're not talking LSU and
- 27:47Speaker 3: Ole Miss, it's Kamario Taylor. They go to South Carolina Saturday.
- 27:51Speaker 3: They're a slight underdog against Lenore sellers in South Carolina.
- 27:54Speaker 3: They haven't won there since 1998. Now granted they haven't
- 27:56Speaker 3: played there a lot either. So that not the normal,
- 27:59Speaker 3: you know, that was back the old East West format
- 28:01Speaker 3: where they just play Kentucky and rotate it off. If
- 28:03Speaker 3: state can win Saturday, they play Missouri at six 30 tomorrow, next,
- 28:07Speaker 3: next Saturday at Davis way. That place will be unlike
- 28:10Speaker 3: anything we've seen since Prescott was there.
- 28:12Speaker 4: Right.
- 28:13Speaker 3: Can they do that Saturday?
- 28:14Speaker 4: Well, they can. And again, I have some missed state fans.
- 28:17Speaker 4: I picked under their win total, so they hate me.
- 28:20Speaker 4: But I might as well go all in. This is
- 28:22Speaker 4: one of my better picks for the weekend. I like
- 28:24Speaker 4: South Carolina. Now, they're supposed to get Dylan Stewart and
- 28:26Speaker 4: Pete back, right? Dylan Stewart's supposed to be back for
- 28:29Speaker 4: this game. We'll see if he plays. Whether he does
- 28:31Speaker 4: or he doesn't, that front seven's still been playing very well. Now, granted,
- 28:35Speaker 4: they play Kent State and an FCS opponent. I get that.
- 28:39Speaker 4: They've had cupcakes the first two weeks of the regular season,
- 28:42Speaker 4: but They're sixth best third down conversion rate in the country,
- 28:47Speaker 4: South Carolina, 63%, and they're averaging 341 on the ground. So,
- 28:53Speaker 4: you know, I look at it like this. You mentioned
- 28:55Speaker 4: they've lost five straight in Columbia, haven't played since 1993.
- 28:59Speaker 4: You know, that factors in at some point, whether they
- 29:02Speaker 4: know that or not. I still think it's on the
- 29:04Speaker 4: coaching staff. They understand the pressure. It's back-to-back road games.
- 29:09Speaker 4: Don't like that so much. Kamario Taylor playing lights out.
- 29:13Speaker 4: I mean, seven touchdowns, no interceptions, over 60% completion percentage.
- 29:18Speaker 4: He can run it. He can throw it. He's playing great.
- 29:21Speaker 4: But this is a tough ask. I just think it's
- 29:23Speaker 4: a step up in competition. Now, if they get this victory,
- 29:27Speaker 4: I'll change my whole assessment because, you know, Williams-Brice, one
- 29:31Speaker 4: of the underrated because, you know, we talked Death Valley,
- 29:34Speaker 4: we talked Tuscaloosa, you know, the Swamp. It's not up there,
- 29:38Speaker 4: but it's still a very difficult, place to play at 4.15
- 29:42Speaker 4: Eastern time. And I just think that catches up to them.
- 29:45Speaker 4: And again, does that mean they don't get back to
- 29:48Speaker 4: 500 or a bowl team? No. But this is, I
- 29:51Speaker 4: just think, a slight step. Great win last week against
- 29:54Speaker 4: Drake Lindsey and Minnesota. They completely shut down Darius Taylor
- 29:59Speaker 4: in the rushing attack. So credit, you know, Zach Arnett
- 30:02Speaker 4: and that defense. But this, I think, Lenore Sellers could
- 30:06Speaker 4: be a problem on Saturday.
- 30:08Speaker 3: Moving on to the afternoon. Florida at Auburn. This is
- 30:11Speaker 3: a 6 o'clock kick. Florida a slight favorite, minus 2.5.
- 30:13Speaker 3: That totals at 53.5. Byron Brown has not played. at
- 30:17Speaker 3: least through two weeks. You know, a cupcake win against
- 30:19Speaker 3: Southern Miss last week. We love Southern Miss, but just
- 30:22Speaker 3: nowhere near the team that can stay on that field.
- 30:25Speaker 3: Does Florida go in there and grab a win? Is
- 30:26Speaker 3: the wrong team favored here?
- 30:28Speaker 4: I think the wrong– I would make it a pick.
- 30:30Speaker 4: I would make it, you know, Auburn minus one just
- 30:32Speaker 4: for the home field advantage. Again, you know, different team
- 30:36Speaker 4: last year, but, you know, Florida on the road or
- 30:38Speaker 4: on a neutral field was 0-6. They didn't win a
- 30:40Speaker 4: road game with Napier and that staff last year. They
- 30:43Speaker 4: got blown out by an average margin of defeat. A 15.1
- 30:46Speaker 4: points per game. Their closest defeat came in in Jacksonville
- 30:51Speaker 4: when they played Georgia, you know, and they lost that
- 30:53Speaker 4: game by four points. So, again, I have questions about
- 30:59Speaker 4: Philo and as bad as or inconsistent Byron Brown's played.
- 31:04Speaker 4: He's played in a lot more bigger games, you know,
- 31:07Speaker 4: with maybe less competition around them than what he's got
- 31:10Speaker 4: now on the planes. I like the rushing attack. Now
- 31:14Speaker 4: you give the edge to Florida, you know, Auburn's at
- 31:17Speaker 4: 234 on the ground. Florida's at 247. Jaden Baugh's averaging
- 31:22Speaker 4: a first down, 10 yards per carry per rush. He
- 31:25Speaker 4: leads the team with 295. But the defense to me
- 31:29Speaker 4: in physicality and coordinator and, Talent, I lean to Auburn.
- 31:34Speaker 4: 34% third down defense, only giving up 74 rushing yards
- 31:39Speaker 4: per game. I just think Jordan Hare at night, I'm
- 31:42Speaker 4: taking the much more experienced quarterback and Byron Brown and Golish.
- 31:48Speaker 3: Of course, we talked Ole Miss and LSU. Any other
- 31:51Speaker 3: games on the docket that you're looking at this weekend?
- 31:54Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, I like the over in Clemson and
- 31:57Speaker 4: North Carolina. It goes against the numbers. you know, when
- 32:03Speaker 4: are we going to start talking about Clemson? They dropped
- 32:05Speaker 4: this game on Saturday, Jake. We need to have a
- 32:09Speaker 4: serious discussion about Davo Sweeney. I was, you know, under
- 32:13Speaker 4: their win total this year, but this team, they've won
- 32:17Speaker 4: seven straight against North Carolina. But obviously, you know, you
- 32:20Speaker 4: look at what TCU did last year and then they
- 32:23Speaker 4: come out of the gate and how Bill shut down
- 32:26Speaker 4: Jaden Craig. Tate Reynolds is a freshman, you know, and
- 32:31Speaker 4: Here's the problem. Third down offense, 136 out of 138
- 32:37Speaker 4: teams in FBS. They have converted, Jake Clemson, three of
- 32:42Speaker 4: 27 attempts on third. That is 9%. You're not going
- 32:48Speaker 4: to win. You're not going to win football games when
- 32:52Speaker 4: your offense is consistently going three and out and your
- 32:55Speaker 4: defense isn't good and you can't run the football. They're
- 32:58Speaker 4: averaging 95 rushing yards per game. That being said, I
- 33:01Speaker 4: believe that Tate Reynolds is an upgrade because now you've
- 33:04Speaker 4: got to worry about the RPO game. I lean to
- 33:07Speaker 4: North Carolina in the game, but I really like the over.
- 33:10Speaker 4: I think you look at the last three games, 49.3
- 33:14Speaker 4: points per game total. They're banging this under. It opened
- 33:17Speaker 4: five points lower than that at 44.5. We're seeing 42.5s
- 33:22Speaker 4: in the market, a touchdown under the average for the
- 33:26Speaker 4: past three meetings. I like the over. I think we
- 33:29Speaker 4: blow right through it.
- 33:30Speaker 2: Yeah, I was shocked that they brought Chad Morris back, honestly.
- 33:33Speaker 4: I mean, he couldn't cut it at Arkansas. He had
- 33:37Speaker 4: good success at SMU, but that was a long time ago.
- 33:41Speaker 4: You couldn't get anybody. And that's the problem, I think,
- 33:45Speaker 4: with Dabo. He's got to bring in guys he's comfortable
- 33:49Speaker 4: with as opposed to maybe getting the best coordinator to
- 33:54Speaker 4: lead this team. And we've said it, Jake, there's no
- 33:57Speaker 4: speed on the outsides. TJ Moore is a good wide receiver.
- 34:01Speaker 4: He's not Jamar Chase and Justin Jefferson out there. There's
- 34:04Speaker 4: no Mike Williams. There's no Sammy Watkins. There's no Justin Roth.
- 34:08Speaker 4: They have no speed on the perimeter to run off
- 34:11Speaker 4: the secondary and open up running lanes like they used to.
- 34:15Speaker 4: That RPO game with Deshaun Watson and Trevor, it's all gone. Now,
- 34:20Speaker 4: they can bring it back with Tate, and that's why
- 34:23Speaker 4: I like the over, but they lose this game. They
- 34:26Speaker 4: would then, if they lose this game, Jake, they would
- 34:28Speaker 4: then have seven home losses dating back to 2023. Seven.
- 34:35Speaker 4: They lost four last year, six since 23, and they
- 34:39Speaker 4: only lost two home games from 2014 to 2022. Where
- 34:46Speaker 4: is the identity? We need to start. And people that
- 34:49Speaker 4: are saying they don't want to call out Dabo because
- 34:51Speaker 4: of two national championships. I get it. But we talk
- 34:55Speaker 4: about ROI. You know, between him and Lincoln Riley, Riley
- 35:00Speaker 4: should feel more pressure. But Dabo's getting paid 11 million
- 35:04Speaker 4: bucks not to go seven and six.
- 35:08Speaker 3: Totally agree. Totally agree. Yeah, it'll be interesting to see.
- 35:11Speaker 3: We got some great games. Hey, I know you've got
- 35:13Speaker 3: some great content coming out, and you've already done it
- 35:15Speaker 3: this week, but you've got more coming up.
- 35:16Speaker 2: Tell people where they can find that content from now
- 35:18Speaker 2: to Saturday.
- 35:19Speaker 4: Yeah, so all the content's on the website, goforthetwo.com. Friday
- 35:23Speaker 4: night show with Coach Bowden will be up on FanStream Sports.
- 35:27Speaker 4: That's at 7 p.m. Eastern, Bowden Ball, The Winning Edge.
- 35:30Speaker 4: You get my take from the statistical and analytical side.
- 35:34Speaker 4: You get Coach's. from the coaching and players' perspective. It's
- 35:39Speaker 4: a unique show. Really enjoy doing it. And then Saturday,
- 35:42Speaker 4: the model and the encyclopedia versus the encyclopedia. I mean,
- 35:46Speaker 4: I've partnered up with Three Check Bets. They're an algorithmic
- 35:50Speaker 4: company that, you know, basically is the Kempom of college football. And,
- 35:55Speaker 4: you know, free sign up. You get all the stats.
- 35:58Speaker 4: You can get all the stats, I believe, for every sport. So,
- 36:01Speaker 4: you know, if you like baseball with the World Series
- 36:03Speaker 4: and playoffs coming around, Check it out. The stats are unbelievable. And,
- 36:07Speaker 4: you know, we cover games that not a lot of
- 36:09Speaker 4: people cover. I mean, we covered North Dakota State in
- 36:13Speaker 4: Fordham two weeks ago. Last week was that Vanderbilt-Delaware game.
- 36:18Speaker 4: I mean, you know, we cover the big ones, but
- 36:21Speaker 4: we're also the computers spits out some crazy predictions. And
- 36:25Speaker 4: I was all over UCLA last week, so they got
- 36:27Speaker 4: in the final two minutes another crazy game. These college
- 36:31Speaker 4: games are crazy.
- 36:32Speaker 1: They are.
- 36:33Speaker 4: I mean, it's like it really used to be, you know,
- 36:36Speaker 4: you have a team dead and buried. Now it's like
- 36:39Speaker 4: college basketball. You have to weather these storms and the
- 36:43Speaker 4: 20-0 run, and you've got to keep fighting. Like, you know,
- 36:47Speaker 4: the way that Ohio State game changed last week, amazing. No,
- 36:51Speaker 4: it was.
- 36:52Speaker 3: It was such a fun game. Joseph, thank you so much. Look,
- 36:54Speaker 3: we'll do it again next week, and I appreciate you
- 36:56Speaker 3: as always.
- 36:56Speaker 4: Anytime, Jake. Love the show. Hit them hard, and let's
- 37:00Speaker 4: see if it's a great weekend for the state of Mississippi.
- 37:03Speaker 3: You got it, brother. Appreciate it.
- 37:04Speaker 1: God bless.
- 37:04Speaker 3: Talk to you soon.
- 37:05Speaker 4: You too.
- 37:06Speaker 3: Joseph Lissy on your screen. And, of course, getting you
- 37:10Speaker 3: ready for college football. Let's talk a little high school
- 37:12Speaker 3: football real quick. Also, I want to remind you we're
- 37:14Speaker 3: brought to you by MyBookie. Get out and play. Use
- 37:16Speaker 3: the promo code PATIO. PATIO, if you get in and

- 37:22Speaker 3: some free money, and you can use that to start playing.
- 37:25Speaker 3: And we're brought to you by our friends at Dr.
- 37:26Speaker 4: Pepper.
- 37:26Speaker 3: Go to thezone1059.
- 37:26Speaker 4: Com.
- 37:28Speaker 3: Click the link, register for a chance to win tickets
- 37:30Speaker 3: to the college football playoff and the national championship. Let's
- 37:34Speaker 3: go through some of the high school football picks before
- 37:36Speaker 3: we get out of here for the night. I want
- 37:37Speaker 3: to remind you tomorrow we got Hines Community College football.
- 37:41Speaker 3: I'll be down at Southwest. We'll have a show three
- 37:44Speaker 3: to six, Hines at Southwest, and then, of course, high
- 37:46Speaker 3: school football on Friday. And let me get in here
- 37:51Speaker 3: is Patch says Alabama by a ton, roll tide. He
- 37:54Speaker 3: said his picks are Bama. South Carolina over Mississippi State,
- 37:59Speaker 3: Florida over Auburn, LSU over Ole Miss, all straight up.
- 38:02Speaker 3: And he says take the over on LSU and Ole Miss.
- 38:06Speaker 3: Thank you, Patch, for putting that in there. And, look,
- 38:09Speaker 3: I do agree. Bama's going to win big on Saturday
- 38:11Speaker 3: against Florida State. I like Mississippi State, and that's not
- 38:14Speaker 3: a homer pick to go win just because of Kamario Taylor.
- 38:17Speaker 3: A close ballgame, a four-quarter ballgame. I like Florida at Auburn.
- 38:21Speaker 3: And I've got Ole Miss with a slight edge. I
- 38:23Speaker 3: do agree at taking the over. on Ole Miss and LSU.
- 38:28Speaker 3: Drop a comment before we get out of here if
- 38:30Speaker 3: you want to talk about something real quick. High school
- 38:33Speaker 3: football on Friday, some big matchups. Number two, Oxford, 3-0
- 38:35Speaker 3: at number one, Tupelo. These two played for the north
- 38:38Speaker 3: half in 7A last year. This should be a heck
- 38:41Speaker 3: of a game on Friday night. This is going to
- 38:43Speaker 3: be at Tupelo. Brandon Shields picks Tupelo to win 31-24.
- 38:47Speaker 3: I'm reading off MississippiGridiron.com. Appreciate Chris Brooks and Brandon Shields
- 38:51Speaker 3: always putting out great content.
- 38:53Speaker 4: I agree.
- 38:53Speaker 2: I think Tupelo gets the edge. Number three, Gulfport, 2-0
- 38:56Speaker 2: at number.
- 38:57Speaker 4: Eight, Petal, 3-0.
- 38:58Speaker 3: This is going to be, you know, an oil check
- 39:01Speaker 3: moment for both teams. Gulfport won 7-8 last year. They replaced,
- 39:04Speaker 3: you know, obviously some key players at running back and quarterback.
- 39:08Speaker 3: Petal and Marcus Boyle is trying to make that next step. Eileen, Gulfport,
- 39:12Speaker 3: wouldn't be surprised to see Petal hang around. Schiltz has
- 39:14Speaker 3: Gulfport to win 35-24. Starkville, 3-0 at number nine, Louisville, 2-1.
- 39:20Speaker 3: Starkville rated number four in the state. Again, a golden
- 39:22Speaker 3: triangle slugfest between these two stalwarts. I like Starkville to
- 39:26Speaker 3: win this ballgame by just a bit. Shields does 21-17. 21-17.
- 39:30Speaker 3: Lanier is off to a 3-0 start under Tommy Kelly.
- 39:33Speaker 3: They're off to the fast track again. They tuck on
- 39:35Speaker 3: Leak tomorrow night, 3-0. I like Lanier to win a
- 39:38Speaker 3: close ballgame, a low-scoring ballgame. Shields does as well, 16-14 Lanier.
- 39:43Speaker 3: McComb is 3-0 at Brookhaven.
- 39:46Speaker 1: 3-0.
- 39:46Speaker 3: Boy, two really good teams here, but I like Brookhaven.
- 39:48Speaker 3: Old Brook with a big walk-off win. A goal line
- 39:52Speaker 3: stop on a two-point try against Madison Central last week
- 39:55Speaker 3: over on the Parkway.
- 39:57Speaker 2: Brookhaven continues to roll. They roll this week.
- 39:59Speaker 3: Shields has them rolling 34-30. Cleveland Central at Grenada. Both
- 40:03Speaker 3: teams undefeated. Cleveland Central 3-0 at Grenada. 2-0 Grenada off
- 40:07Speaker 3: and running. I like Cleveland Central a little bit. Brandon
- 40:11Speaker 3: Shields likes Grenada just a little bit, 34-32. Pearl River Central, PRC,
- 40:15Speaker 3: 3-0 at Poplarville, 3-0. Give me Poplarville. Look, PRC is
- 40:21Speaker 3: really a good football team. They've come out the gate hot.
- 40:22Speaker 3: They've got some really good offensive pieces there. But I
- 40:25Speaker 3: like Poplarville. I like Ty Keyes, who's headed to the
- 40:27Speaker 3: University of Miami. And, you know, you look also at
- 40:32Speaker 3: Caden Bradford. He's in that backfield with Ty Keyes. Poplarville
- 40:36Speaker 3: should win. Shields has them winning 31-17. Also, Seminary 2-1
- 40:40Speaker 3: at PCS. I like PCS to win. That move to
- 40:43Speaker 3: the MHSA has been great for them. Shields has them
- 40:46Speaker 3: winning a shootout, 45-40. Hartfield 2-1 at Jackson Academy on
- 40:52Speaker 3: Friday night.
- 40:53Speaker 2: The Hawks take on JA.
- 40:55Speaker 3: JA, though, I think is too tough on the offensive side.
- 40:58Speaker 3: Hartfield has some really good pieces. Shields has Jackson Academy
- 41:01Speaker 3: to win 38-27.
- 41:01Speaker 1: MRA at.
- 41:04Speaker 2: Jackson Prep, MRA, 3-1.
- 41:06Speaker 1: Prep, 4-0.
- 41:07Speaker 3: Should be a really, really good ballgame. I like MRA
- 41:10Speaker 3: by just a little bit. Shields like Prep by just
- 41:13Speaker 3: a little bit. So it should be a good one.
- 41:15Speaker 3: And also, Brandon is hosting West Monroe for homecoming. West
- 41:20Speaker 3: Monroe comes in at 2-0, one of the biggest names
- 41:22Speaker 3: in the state of Louisiana. They've got eight state championships
- 41:25Speaker 3: to their credit. Brandon's coming off a two-game winning streak.
- 41:28Speaker 3: I like the Dawgs to win at home by just
- 41:30Speaker 3: a little bit. It should be a good one.
- 41:32Speaker 2: I want to remind you again, play at my bookie.
- 41:34Speaker 2: Use the promo code patio today.
- 41:36Speaker 3: Get in and play. Get a sign-up bonus. And, of course,
