- 0:47Speaker 2: Daniel reyes, we're supposed to keep that quiet.
- 0:51Speaker 1: Oh, we're supposed to get that quiet.
- 0:53Speaker 2: Yeah, that's right, Hey Dan, what's going on? Man?
- 0:58Speaker 3: He made at Some might think I'm going over my
- 1:02Speaker 3: notes for Trek Cast. Those people would be wrong. Unfortunately,
- 1:11Speaker 3: I'm working. I'm working today. You got me for about
- 1:14Speaker 3: fifteen minutes, okay, but I'm.
- 1:17Speaker 4: Excited to be here, excited to talk to you.
- 1:18Speaker 1: Guys, and we'll take all the Lombardo we can get there.
- 1:22Speaker 1: You go.
- 1:22Speaker 4: That's right, God, damn right.
- 1:25Speaker 2: Well, well if we only got you for a few minutes,
- 1:28Speaker 2: did you watch the episode?
- 1:31Speaker 3: I did you know it was Star Trek?
- 1:36Speaker 4: It was?
- 1:37Speaker 1: Yeah, it was starting right so.
- 1:40Speaker 4: Long it was Star Trek.
- 1:42Speaker 3: It's been so long, it's been it's been a while.
- 1:47Speaker 3: I don't think I've watched any real Star Trek in
- 1:51Speaker 3: a while. I started watching I'll start Black to again,
- 1:54Speaker 3: the two thousand and three one I rewatched.
- 1:56Speaker 1: I'm going to start doing that rewatch soon.
- 1:58Speaker 3: Yeah, and you know, it's great, and it kind of
- 2:02Speaker 3: made me mad because I'm like, you know, this is
- 2:04Speaker 3: twenty something years ago, and this is great. The new
- 2:07Speaker 3: stuff sucks, but uh, yeah, No, I watched The Haunting
- 2:10Speaker 3: of Deck twelve.
- 2:11Speaker 4: I had completely forgotten the story.
- 2:14Speaker 2: Yeah, same, Sam, So it was it was nice.
- 2:19Speaker 4: You know, Nelix is a tool. It's fine. Uh. It
- 2:25Speaker 4: was like, you know.
- 2:26Speaker 3: I'm watching it and I'm thinking, like, no, matter where
- 2:30Speaker 3: you are politically, yeah, there's no to be upset about
- 2:35Speaker 3: this episode. Everybody can love this this episode, And why
- 2:38Speaker 3: can't they just make it like that anymore?
- 2:41Speaker 1: Because it was a good story and they weren't trying
- 2:43Speaker 1: to send a message.
- 2:45Speaker 2: Yes, I thought it was funny the way the kids
- 2:47Speaker 2: kept interrupting him. Yes, which is exactly what my nephews
- 2:51Speaker 2: do all the time.
- 2:52Speaker 1: When yeah, that's what kids do during the story time.
- 2:54Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah, what do you mean during story time,
- 2:57Speaker 3: during like everything, every time.
- 3:02Speaker 4: Some nights at dinner, my.
- 3:03Speaker 3: Wife she's just she's just trying to tell me one
- 3:06Speaker 3: stupid thing, just one stupid thing, and and she just
- 3:09Speaker 3: can't get it out because between the two of them,
- 3:12Speaker 3: it's like mommy, mommy, mommy, mommy.
- 3:15Speaker 1: Yeah, my wife does the same thing and tell you
- 3:17Speaker 1: the truth. I'm just as bad.
- 3:23Speaker 2: Oh that's no good.
- 3:25Speaker 4: It was good. It was fun to watch it. It
- 3:28Speaker 4: was like seeing.
- 3:30Speaker 3: And you know, I'm doing the same thing with Battle
- 3:32Speaker 3: Star Galacta. It's like seeing old friends you haven't seen
- 3:34Speaker 3: in a while and you're like, oh, yeah, I remember what,
- 3:36Speaker 3: I remember why I like these people.
- 3:38Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, it's good time.
- 3:42Speaker 1: Yeah. I just finished a Voyager rewatch a couple, So
- 3:45Speaker 1: this was I didn't watch the episode again, but this
- 3:48Speaker 1: is it's fresh in my mind. Yeah, yeah, because I
- 3:50Speaker 1: probably watched the episode maybe a month ago.
- 3:53Speaker 4: So what you're saying is you just you didn't prepare today.
- 3:57Speaker 1: I didn't prepare it all.
- 3:58Speaker 4: No, wow, Jesus Jesus Scott.
- 4:02Speaker 1: You know, I was telling Danny before the show, I'm
- 4:04Speaker 1: gonna start taking a poll to see if everybody can
- 4:06Speaker 1: guess if I came up with the intro while sitting
- 4:09Speaker 1: on the john this morning or while taking a shower.
- 4:12Speaker 2: There you go.
- 4:13Speaker 1: So today I'll give you a freebie. It was while
- 4:15Speaker 1: I was in the shower.
- 4:17Speaker 4: Nice see.
- 4:19Speaker 2: And I watched the episode after the after the fight
- 4:22Speaker 2: last night. I don't know if you you saw the
- 4:25Speaker 2: Ronda Rouse Toronto fight, Dan, I didn't.
- 4:28Speaker 3: I didn't see it, but you know, I logged in
- 4:29Speaker 3: the Facebook this morning and it was spoiled for me
- 4:32Speaker 3: right away.
- 4:33Speaker 2: Like, yeah, you could watch the whole fight in fifteen seconds.
- 4:37Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, till it does er hello, yeah, till it
- 4:43Speaker 1: does yesterday. They don't have to show highlights of this fight.
- 4:46Speaker 1: They're just gonna hold the fight over and over and
- 4:48Speaker 1: over again.
- 4:48Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 4:49Speaker 4: It was.
- 4:50Speaker 1: It was.
- 4:52Speaker 4: That reminds me of like nineteen nineties Tyson.
- 4:56Speaker 3: I was just gonna say that, Yeah, yep, people would
- 4:59Speaker 3: pay people pay, you know, forty ninety nine for the
- 5:02Speaker 3: pay per view and then and see fifteen seconds.
- 5:05Speaker 1: Right, he come out, just knocked the guy out. What
- 5:07Speaker 1: punts he does?
- 5:08Speaker 4: Yeah, but they know, they know this stuff happens.
- 5:13Speaker 3: That's why you always see like yeah, people were people
- 5:17Speaker 3: were tuning in for it. For that fight, but there's
- 5:19Speaker 3: always like three four, five, six fights on the car.
- 5:22Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 5:23Speaker 2: Yeah, Well they were even saying, like I watched a
- 5:25Speaker 2: little bit of some of the earlier fights too, and
- 5:28Speaker 2: they were saying that none of the fights went out
- 5:30Speaker 2: of the second round, so everything was just quick.
- 5:33Speaker 1: It was quick, all of them.
- 5:35Speaker 3: You just you're just ruined the whole god damn show
- 5:38Speaker 3: for me, aren't you.
- 5:40Speaker 1: Oh?
- 5:40Speaker 2: I didn't know you were gonna go back and watch it.
- 5:42Speaker 4: I was planning too.
- 5:48Speaker 1: Why don't you just go down the card and tell
- 5:50Speaker 1: them who won and lost?
- 5:51Speaker 2: I didn't watch the whole card.
- 5:52Speaker 1: Okay, are you the guy who we did?
- 5:55Speaker 3: Are you the guy who stands in line at the
- 5:56Speaker 3: box office and you're like, I showed this yesterday with
- 5:59Speaker 3: my that's it's urable.
- 6:00Speaker 4: When he dies at the end, I.
- 6:04Speaker 2: Can't believe in Vaders Luke's father. Okay, So when this
- 6:11Speaker 2: is what I've done before in line and it's kind
- 6:13Speaker 2: of along those lines. Uh. When when the Phantom Menace
- 6:17Speaker 2: came out, I was working in news right and I
- 6:20Speaker 2: was gonna go meet my buddies, uh in line for
- 6:23Speaker 2: the midnight showing. And I was coming from work, and
- 6:26Speaker 2: so I had my NBC affiliate, uh polo on right,
- 6:31Speaker 2: So it had the NBC peacock on there. So I
- 6:33Speaker 2: get in line and I just thought, I'm just gonna
- 6:36Speaker 2: huh the NBC.
- 6:41Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 6:42Speaker 2: Yeah. So so I get in line. You know, the
- 6:45Speaker 2: movie's gonna start soon, and I started telling my friends
- 6:47Speaker 2: because I'm just gonna mess with them. I'm like, yeah,
- 6:50Speaker 2: we got a press release into the newsroom and uh,
- 6:53Speaker 2: apparently Lucasfilms is proud to announce Lance the first gay Jedi.
- 6:58Speaker 2: You'll see him in what. I guess. There'll be a
- 6:59Speaker 2: big back at all and he's gonna have a rainbow lightsaber.
- 7:05Speaker 2: So you know, I'm gonna look out for Lance the
- 7:07Speaker 2: first gay Jedi. And people were like what and I'm like, oh, yeah, yeah,
- 7:13Speaker 2: because it was back what like two thousand and one
- 7:15Speaker 2: do that whatever it was, you know, nineteen Okay, okay,
- 7:21Speaker 2: this was the next one after not not uh yeah anyway,
- 7:24Speaker 2: at the Ces Attack of the Clones.
- 7:26Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 7:27Speaker 2: So, so as we're walking out later, right, two and
- 7:30Speaker 2: a half hours three hours later, we're walking out, we
- 7:32Speaker 2: heard two guys go I didn't see him. I swear
- 7:35Speaker 2: I thought I saw him. Like they're just.
- 7:37Speaker 1: Arguing, woh, my goodness.
- 7:41Speaker 2: Yeah, so there you go.
- 7:44Speaker 4: There's so many jokes you can predict the future.
- 7:48Speaker 1: But I'm not gonna say because I don't want to
- 7:50Speaker 1: get canceled.
- 7:52Speaker 2: Well, should we get to the news. Yeah, let's get
- 7:56Speaker 2: to the news.
- 7:57Speaker 1: Stars all right.
- 8:01Speaker 2: So our first news story comes to us from Screen Rants,
- 8:06Speaker 2: and we got a couple of new Star Trek series
- 8:08Speaker 2: in the works kind of kind of yeah, okay, So
- 8:15Speaker 2: Star Trek recently announced that they are going to be
- 8:18Speaker 2: releasing two new web cartoons. These will be released by
- 8:24Speaker 2: an app called web Tune, and the two series are
- 8:28Speaker 2: called Stargazers and Recollection. Stargazers is a kind of slice
- 8:35Speaker 2: of life on DS nine series about young people and
- 8:42Speaker 2: living their lives and fighting first love and all this stuff.
- 8:45Speaker 2: So you know, jump sticks, jump just sticks. Yeah. One
- 8:50Speaker 2: of them is one of the characters I read is
- 8:53Speaker 2: a Change Lane, who is a hairstylist and makeup artist.
- 8:58Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 8:58Speaker 2: Yeah, you know what we've all been asking for. Yeah,
- 9:03Speaker 2: So the Stargazers, and then the other story is different
- 9:07Speaker 2: more tonally. It's a dark mystery is what they're calling it.
- 9:11Speaker 2: It's called it's called Recollection. And this one is a
- 9:14Speaker 2: woman wakes up with amnesia on a starship and they're
- 9:19Speaker 2: out in the middle of a like far out outpost
- 9:24Speaker 2: and it's her just trying to figure out what's going on.
- 9:27Speaker 2: How did she get there? The ship is being piloted
- 9:30Speaker 2: by a hollow pilot and the pilot seems to not
- 9:33Speaker 2: give straight answers, so she's just trying to figure out
- 9:36Speaker 2: what's going on. So, uh, those will those both of
- 9:40Speaker 2: these will be available on the web tune app that
- 9:45Speaker 2: should be coming out later this summer if you're interested.
- 9:49Speaker 2: But yeah, to a new Star Trek series.
- 9:52Speaker 1: Kind of nice. Yeah, hey, Daniell check out the chat.
- 9:57Speaker 2: Oh okay, what is this, Michael, someone's doing upon hunting.
- 10:09Speaker 2: That's amazing. Hey guys, it's one of the right Oh.
- 10:12Speaker 1: Wow, yeah, yeah, I recognize the name.
- 10:15Speaker 4: Yeah, I can't read it. What's it?
- 10:21Speaker 1: So Michael Sussman says someone's doing a pot on haunting.
- 10:24Speaker 1: That's amazing. Hey guys, it's Sussmen, one of the writers
- 10:27Speaker 1: on this one. Oh wow, yeah, hello.
- 10:34Speaker 2: If you watching, Yeah, if you're still watching, hey, why
- 10:37Speaker 2: do you come on the show?
- 10:38Speaker 1: Absolutely?
- 10:39Speaker 3: Yeah, we're gonna have a slot available in about four minutes.
- 10:43Speaker 2: Yeah nice, nice, All right, let's let's get it. Yeah,
- 10:52Speaker 2: so we'll see if your response to that. All right,
- 10:55Speaker 2: next new story comes to us from trekmovie dot com.
- 10:59Speaker 2: And I don't know if you know this, but recently,
- 11:03Speaker 2: do you know Pluto, the free TV app Pluto?
- 11:06Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 11:06Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, So they were doing a contest on their
- 11:11Speaker 2: social media's and they were having different franchises compete against
- 11:15Speaker 2: each other. Battle of the Fandoms they called it. So
- 11:18Speaker 2: you had like Stargate versus Battlestar Galactica, you had X
- 11:22Speaker 2: Files versus Fringe, and then like for the first round,
- 11:26Speaker 2: you had Star Trek versus Doctor Who. But over over
- 11:30Speaker 2: the course of a few weeks, I think ultimately Star
- 11:34Speaker 2: Trek came out on top of the whole thing. They
- 11:36Speaker 2: ended up beating X Files in the finals. So Star
- 11:42Speaker 2: Trek is number one.
- 11:44Speaker 4: So Star Treks are available on Pluto. I'm just curious.
- 11:48Speaker 2: Oh, I don't know offhand, I think, yeah.
- 11:56Speaker 1: Like Next Gen and Voyager, Yeah, maybe Enterprise.
- 12:02Speaker 2: I mean I'm surprised they beat out the Twilight Zone,
- 12:05Speaker 2: or more importantly that Arrow beat out the Twilight Zone
- 12:08Speaker 2: or Twin Peaks.
- 12:09Speaker 4: So Arrow beat Twin Peaks.
- 12:12Speaker 3: Yes, well, I mean I've seen most of arrow I've
- 12:16Speaker 3: seen none of twin Peaks, so yeah, people like me
- 12:20Speaker 3: likely voted it the yeah.
- 12:23Speaker 2: So well, and then Star Trek beat Arrows, so which
- 12:27Speaker 2: is fair yep, yeah, I can dig that, okay, And
- 12:32Speaker 2: then our last news story comes to us from MTG Rocks.
- 12:38Speaker 2: So if you're a Magic the Gathering player like I am,
- 12:43Speaker 2: you know that later this year, at towards the end
- 12:46Speaker 2: of the year, is the new Star Trek set coming out,
- 12:49Speaker 2: and we're getting a little bit more of a preview.
- 12:51Speaker 2: I don't know for sure if that's art from the
- 12:54Speaker 2: new set, but looks like in the style of Magic,
- 12:57Speaker 2: so it could potentially be. But we're getting some preview
- 13:02Speaker 2: and one of the designers seems to confirm that this
- 13:05Speaker 2: is going to be a larger set of cards, maybe
- 13:08Speaker 2: one of the larger ones this year. So that means
- 13:12Speaker 2: there will be a ton of cards, a ton of characters,
- 13:15Speaker 2: a ton of ships in Magic the Gathering with Star
- 13:20Speaker 2: Trek relations so that you could be fun. Yeah.
- 13:24Speaker 1: Like I said, I have zero interest in building a deck,
- 13:29Speaker 1: but if they sell like pre made or somebody puts
- 13:31Speaker 1: together pre made, or if I can go to like
- 13:33Speaker 1: my local comics comic book store and get a pre
- 13:35Speaker 1: made set, you know, and I'm sure there's gonna be
- 13:38Speaker 1: groups of there's gonna be like the Klingon set and
- 13:41Speaker 1: the Federation set and the you know, stuff like that.
- 13:44Speaker 1: But yeah, if there's a pre made set. I've played
- 13:48Speaker 1: Magic maybe three times and I enjoyed it. You know,
- 13:52Speaker 1: it's it's not a terribly difficult game to learn. I
- 13:56Speaker 1: know this because I learned how to play it. Yeah,
- 13:59Speaker 1: so you know, it's a lot of fun if you
- 14:02Speaker 1: haven't played Magic. And the cool thing is is you can,
- 14:05Speaker 1: you know, your friends that have regular Magic cards, you
- 14:07Speaker 1: can play your Star Trek deck with any other you know,
- 14:12Speaker 1: genre of magic.
- 14:15Speaker 4: Mm hm when when does this come out?
- 14:18Speaker 2: Towards the end of the year. I don't have an
- 14:20Speaker 2: exact date just yet, but yeah, Magic the Gathering lately
- 14:26Speaker 2: has been doing this thing is called Universes Beyond, where
- 14:29Speaker 2: they bring all sorts of franchises into Magic, like Dan,
- 14:32Speaker 2: you would like this. They did Ghostbusters not too long ago.
- 14:36Speaker 2: They they have done like Jurassic Park, My Little Pony.
- 14:40Speaker 2: There's SpongeBob cards.
- 14:42Speaker 3: There's cards like you could do Ghostbusters.
- 14:48Speaker 2: You can be like literally, okay, I I I summon
- 14:53Speaker 2: my ghost trap and I'm gonna use it in conjunction
- 14:56Speaker 2: with my phaser to apply it to uh this pterodactyl,
- 15:02Speaker 2: and I will attack you with all those.
- 15:03Speaker 1: Point and I will attack your pony with.
- 15:05Speaker 2: Yeah, and I will attack your pony.
- 15:07Speaker 4: Yeah, but my pony is Cutie Mark has a protection spell.
- 15:11Speaker 2: So that's right, that's right.
- 15:12Speaker 1: Yes, because even though all the characters are different, the
- 15:17Speaker 1: the mechanics, the mechanics and the attributes are the same,
- 15:21Speaker 1: so you can yeah. Yeah. Oh, they got to come
- 15:24Speaker 1: out with a mile of a Pony one too.
- 15:25Speaker 2: But they recently did Avatar the Last Airbender. They're doing
- 15:29Speaker 2: Mark with superheroes this summer.
- 15:30Speaker 3: It's basically it's Super Smash Brothers the card game.
- 15:34Speaker 2: That's what it's. That is what it's becoming. Yes, so yeah, have.
- 15:40Speaker 1: You guys played Super Smash Brothers. I never have, and
- 15:42Speaker 1: I was thinking about getting it.
- 15:45Speaker 2: With my nephews all the time.
- 15:46Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 15:47Speaker 4: Yeah, my son was.
- 15:48Speaker 3: All about it for a while and then he will
- 15:50Speaker 3: put it down for months and then he will pick
- 15:53Speaker 3: it back up and that'll be all he does for
- 15:55Speaker 3: a month.
- 15:56Speaker 2: Yeah. Okay, yeah, I bought some of the uh. I
- 16:00Speaker 2: guess you can like pay for extra characters, so like
- 16:04Speaker 2: I have an insane amount of characters on my Super
- 16:06Speaker 2: Smash Brothers and the kids go nuts with it.
- 16:08Speaker 1: So nice.
- 16:09Speaker 3: Yeah, he has a bunch of I think they call
- 16:12Speaker 3: my mebos. Okay, the figure and the figure has a
- 16:16Speaker 3: chip in the bottom that you or whatever, and now
- 16:20Speaker 3: you have the character in the game.
- 16:21Speaker 2: Oh is that what that is? I never knew how
- 16:23Speaker 2: that worked? So yeah, okay, guys, I got to run though.
- 16:27Speaker 2: All right, man, it was good having it.
- 16:31Speaker 3: Yeah, u'spen if you're out there, man, take my take
- 16:34Speaker 3: my spot, take my spot.
- 16:36Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, yeah, absolutely.
- 16:39Speaker 4: Okay, all right, guys, stuck soon.
- 16:42Speaker 2: Okay, all right, well let's get to the main topic
- 16:46Speaker 2: on that nowe.
- 16:47Speaker 1: I have I have a quick little story. Yeah, mind so,
- 16:52Speaker 1: and it is related. So about a month ago, my
- 16:57Speaker 1: wife and I are heading into a restaurant and I
- 17:01Speaker 1: hear Scott Potters and I turn around and I see
- 17:04Speaker 1: an old friend from high school and I recognize her
- 17:08Speaker 1: right away. I'm like, hey, Emily, how you doing? My god,
- 17:10Speaker 1: I haven't seen you in like twenty you know. I
- 17:11Speaker 1: saw her maybe once or twice after high school, you know,
- 17:14Speaker 1: and she was part of like the little group of
- 17:16Speaker 1: friends that we all used to hang out with. Yeah,
- 17:19Speaker 1: and she says she was heading out of the restaurant
- 17:23Speaker 1: we were heading in, and she goes, hey, you and
- 17:27Speaker 1: Deseration come out to our little sailboat. Sometime. I don't
- 17:29Speaker 1: like Michigan in South Haven. We go to South An
- 17:32Speaker 1: all the time. And I'm like, yeah, i'd love to,
- 17:34Speaker 1: you know. And so about a week ago or so,
- 17:39Speaker 1: I texted her and I said, Hey, we're planning on
- 17:41Speaker 1: being in South Haven if you want to meet up.
- 17:43Speaker 1: She's like, oh, come out to the boat. So we
- 17:45Speaker 1: went out to the boat and they took us on
- 17:48Speaker 1: a little sail out to Lake Michigan. Beautiful weather, just
- 17:53Speaker 1: you know, really very kind of them to invite us
- 17:57Speaker 1: on their boat and take us the sail and you know,
- 18:01Speaker 1: very generous and everything. And we were all kind of
- 18:04Speaker 1: talking together with with her husband Eric, and I don't
- 18:10Speaker 1: know how the conversation where the conversation got steered in
- 18:15Speaker 1: this direction, but I heard Emily say something along the
- 18:18Speaker 1: lines of and he made me watch all of Deep
- 18:20Speaker 1: Space nine too, And I look and I look at her,
- 18:28Speaker 1: and I kind of look at him and she and
- 18:30Speaker 1: she looks at him and says, yeah, he's a he's
- 18:32Speaker 1: a trekky and I'm like, oh, really, let me tell
- 18:38Speaker 1: you something, sir.
- 18:41Speaker 2: Yeah, nice, the Old West shoot off.
- 18:44Speaker 1: Little did he know that he had a celebrity in
- 18:47Speaker 1: his midst Oh yes, yes, so I said, well, I
- 18:51Speaker 1: I just happened to uh be the co host of
- 18:54Speaker 1: a Star Trek podcast. And he's like really, And we
- 18:57Speaker 1: spent most of the time the rest of the talking
- 19:00Speaker 1: about star Trek. And you know, he's a he's a
- 19:04Speaker 1: you know, a self admitted nerd to so he likes
- 19:07Speaker 1: all the you know, the Marvels and the star Wars
- 19:10Speaker 1: and all that kind of stuff too. So that was
- 19:13Speaker 1: that was a lot of fun. So we're gonna I'm
- 19:16Speaker 1: gonna have him on the show sometime. But yeah, that
- 19:20Speaker 1: was it was just a just a fantastic day. That's great,
- 19:23Speaker 1: that's great.
- 19:26Speaker 2: And then while you were telling your story, Chasms and
- 19:27Speaker 2: while Bill both said good morning, so hey guys, good morning. Yeah, yep, uh,
- 19:36Speaker 2: wixes love that. I'm not sure what wixes is.
- 19:41Speaker 5: I don't know either, Yeah, but okay, wives love that.
- 19:45Speaker 5: Maybe maybe, yeah, maybe that's a good call. All right,
- 19:53Speaker 5: let's get to the main topic.
- 19:55Speaker 6: Fun.
- 19:56Speaker 2: Will now comment and yeah, you were correct. It was
- 20:03Speaker 2: wives Wives love that yes, yes, so all right, so
- 20:09Speaker 2: our main topic we are talking about the Haunting of
- 20:12Speaker 2: Deck twelve. This is the penultimate episode of season six
- 20:16Speaker 2: of Star Trek Voyager. Why did we pick this episode, Well,
- 20:20Speaker 2: it originally aired May seventeenth, two thousand, so that is
- 20:25Speaker 2: twenty six years ago. So today's the twenty sixth anniversary.
- 20:29Speaker 2: So that's why we're doing it. But that's not the
- 20:31Speaker 2: only reason. We recently also put on our Facebook group,
- 20:37Speaker 2: Hey guys, what do you want us to talk about?
- 20:39Speaker 2: You know, inn upcoming episodes and Fasbob put review iconic
- 20:44Speaker 2: old episodes and so that's what we're doing. So there
- 20:47Speaker 2: you go. Yeah, so yeah, yeah, Voyager penultimate episode, season six,
- 20:55Speaker 2: the Haunting of Deck twelve. For those of you who
- 20:58Speaker 2: don't remember, this is the episode in which basically Nelix
- 21:03Speaker 2: is telling a scary story to the Boord children and
- 21:07Speaker 2: then we see what's really going on as the story unfolds.
- 21:11Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 21:12Speaker 2: Yeah, it was a fun episode. Man, what did you
- 21:15Speaker 2: What did you think of it?
- 21:17Speaker 1: I liked it? Uh, it was Trek, you know, yeah,
- 21:20Speaker 1: we were talking before it was it was Star Trek. Yeah,
- 21:24Speaker 1: you know, it was nice to see. Uh the Board Kids.
- 21:27Speaker 1: You know, we didn't see much of them after this,
- 21:30Speaker 1: at least not with a whole lot of lines, because
- 21:31Speaker 1: I'm pretty sure one of the first one of the
- 21:33Speaker 1: first episodes of season seven was the Horrible Parents storyline,
- 21:38Speaker 1: and during that at the beginning of that episode, the
- 21:41Speaker 1: twins and the the other one.
- 21:44Speaker 2: Twins slowly getting dropped off, right, and like.
- 21:46Speaker 1: Yeah, they're they're getting dropped off and taken care of,
- 21:48Speaker 1: and Echeb's the only one that actually makes it back
- 21:50Speaker 1: to Earth. So spoiler alert for those of you who
- 21:53Speaker 1: haven't seen.
- 21:54Speaker 2: Because his family is terrible.
- 21:55Speaker 1: Basically, yeah, his family is just horrible. Yeah, well, you know,
- 22:01Speaker 1: that's a discussion for another episode.
- 22:03Speaker 2: But we may have to review that episode.
- 22:05Speaker 1: We might have to review that episode two.
- 22:07Speaker 2: Yeah, all right, but yes, so it's Nelix and the
- 22:11Speaker 2: Board Kids. Like we said earlier in the show, one
- 22:15Speaker 2: of the funniest thing is how much the Board Kids
- 22:18Speaker 2: interrupt Neelix as he's trying to tell the story. I
- 22:21Speaker 2: also love how nitpicky the kids were, like like real
- 22:26Speaker 2: fans of an episode, like just picking those knits left
- 22:30Speaker 2: and right, and Nelix is like, I don't have answers
- 22:32Speaker 2: for you man, I'm just I'm just telling you what happened.
- 22:35Speaker 1: Because he's he's you know, he's he's not the most
- 22:38Speaker 1: technically minded person on the Crew's he's relaying a story.
- 22:41Speaker 1: He's telling a story, you know, whether he's making it
- 22:43Speaker 1: up or he's you know, telling retelling what's actually going on,
- 22:48Speaker 1: you know. Yeah, I mean.
- 22:50Speaker 2: Yeah, like at one point he's like, oh, the the
- 22:53Speaker 2: Basari collectors couldn't do this, and then Egypt's like, no,
- 22:56Speaker 2: that's what they do or whatever.
- 22:57Speaker 5: Right, right, Yeah, yeah, it's hilarious.
- 23:03Speaker 1: But yeah, yeah.
- 23:06Speaker 2: For sure, for sure. I've got I've got the Wikipedia
- 23:10Speaker 2: and the Memory Alpha pages of both of these. Yeah,
- 23:17Speaker 2: let's see, uh what else about it? Oh yeah, as
- 23:23Speaker 2: we had at the top of our show.
- 23:24Speaker 7: Uh.
- 23:25Speaker 2: This was written by Michael Sussman, So that was cool that.
- 23:28Speaker 1: He bopped in. Yeah, directed by David Livingstone. He was
- 23:32Speaker 1: big in Voyager back in the day.
- 23:35Speaker 2: Yeah yeah. According to the reception on on Wikipedia, this
- 23:41Speaker 2: was the ninth best episode of Voyager oh wow, and
- 23:47Speaker 2: is considered a good idea and praise for Captain Januay
- 23:50Speaker 2: being well written in this episode.
- 23:53Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 23:53Speaker 2: She she was pretty well written in this episode. She
- 23:57Speaker 2: was taking any guff she you know, she was standing
- 24:00Speaker 2: up for her crew. Basically, if if you don't remember
- 24:04Speaker 2: the episode, so Newlix is telling the story, but basically
- 24:08Speaker 2: what's really going on is Voyager had gone through a
- 24:12Speaker 2: nebula to collect some material to I don't know, to
- 24:15Speaker 2: live or whatever, and in that collection they accidentally picked
- 24:21Speaker 2: up a noncomporeal life form that was part of the
- 24:24Speaker 2: nebula and that life form wasn't malicious but just wanted
- 24:29Speaker 2: to go back home. So the life form had been
- 24:32Speaker 2: taking over parts of the ship in an attempt to
- 24:35Speaker 2: get them to turn around and go back to the Nebula.
- 24:39Speaker 2: It ends up the nebula gets I don't know, dissipates
- 24:42Speaker 2: or destroys, and it's just it's not functional for that
- 24:45Speaker 2: creature anymore. So there had been a section of the
- 24:48Speaker 2: ship that the kids and no one else was really
- 24:51Speaker 2: allowed to go to, and it ends up that's where
- 24:54Speaker 2: the creature was living. And eventually they found a new
- 24:58Speaker 2: nebula to you to deposit the creature. So that's really
- 25:03Speaker 2: the story. But in that Neelix is telling them about
- 25:08Speaker 2: you know, how it took over the ship and it
- 25:11Speaker 2: was it almost destroyed the ship and you know, because
- 25:14Speaker 2: both sides were frustrated with each other, so made sense,
- 25:19Speaker 2: you know what.
- 25:19Speaker 1: Was going on. Yeah, I thought it was funny. The
- 25:25Speaker 1: notable absence of Naomi Wildman. Yes, yes, she's like you know,
- 25:30Speaker 1: and plus we have it's the Wildman's is one that
- 25:33Speaker 1: always gets me because like, where the hell is her mother.
- 25:39Speaker 4: Lives?
- 25:40Speaker 1: She does not die in the series. Oh gad, No, yeah,
- 25:45Speaker 1: she does not die in the series, and some Wildman
- 25:47Speaker 1: is very much alive and we don't see her like
- 25:49Speaker 1: I don't even know if we see her during seasons.
- 25:53Speaker 1: For me, it's stuck on a starship together. She is
- 25:55Speaker 1: the most absentee mother ever.
- 25:58Speaker 2: She's got that warf school of guarantine.
- 26:01Speaker 1: Right, Yeah, you just never see her. I mean the
- 26:04Speaker 1: show makes it look like she's being raised by Nelix.
- 26:06Speaker 2: Yeah you know that's true, that's true.
- 26:09Speaker 1: But yeah, because because Nelix and it's and it really
- 26:12Speaker 1: draws attention to it this episode, because Nelix has gathered
- 26:15Speaker 1: all the children, right, you know, they just happen to
- 26:17Speaker 1: be bored children. But where's Naomi? You know?
- 26:21Speaker 2: Yeah, why didn't he go get Naomi? He knew it
- 26:23Speaker 2: was going to go on lockdown.
- 26:25Speaker 1: Right and he Yeah, the ship's not only on lockdown,
- 26:28Speaker 1: it's on like it's in like gray mode. Yes, so
- 26:32Speaker 1: all the lights are off, you know, they have to
- 26:33Speaker 1: use a little portable light you know, emit her and stuff.
- 26:38Speaker 1: And like at one point the battery dies and he
- 26:41Speaker 1: has to get a new battery and he does that
- 26:43Speaker 1: little jump scare with the light coming back on in
- 26:46Speaker 1: his face and yeah, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to
- 26:49Speaker 1: frighten you.
- 26:49Speaker 2: Which which it's funny because later at the end of it,
- 26:53Speaker 2: Januay's like, oh, how are the kids? It was three hours?
- 26:55Speaker 2: Like that was a long time. So those batteries don't
- 26:58Speaker 2: last three hours, I mean apparently not.
- 27:01Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean I guess one could say that the
- 27:05Speaker 1: thing was almost out of juice when he turned it on,
- 27:08Speaker 1: like maybe had charge. But yeah, you'd think that they
- 27:11Speaker 1: would have some pretty much more effective dura cells in
- 27:14Speaker 1: the twenty fourth century, right.
- 27:16Speaker 2: But even that, Like, okay, so if you're going to
- 27:18Speaker 2: argue that, but you can also argue they knew they
- 27:21Speaker 2: were going to be doing this, so wouldn't they have
- 27:22Speaker 2: it at some point? Hey, charge up all the flashlights, right,
- 27:26Speaker 2: we're gonna need them.
- 27:27Speaker 1: Maybe those maybe those flash maybe those little lamps only
- 27:31Speaker 1: had us micro USB and they had right and they
- 27:33Speaker 1: didn't plugs. They didn't have the right plugs.
- 27:36Speaker 2: Yeah that's it. Yeah whatever. See now we're becoming and and.
- 27:42Speaker 1: We're becoming yeah yeah yeah. So they were getting uh,
- 27:46Speaker 1: deturium deterium. Ok yeah, what which which is? As as
- 27:51Speaker 1: I understand it, deuterium is the fuel for the impulse
- 27:57Speaker 1: system Okay, okay, but it also might be the matter
- 28:02Speaker 1: to the anti matter as well. I never understood that
- 28:07Speaker 1: it doesn't. It does to me. It matters, that.
- 28:11Speaker 2: Matter very much to me as a matter of fact.
- 28:16Speaker 1: As a matter of fact, Yes, does anybody know what
- 28:20Speaker 1: the matter is that the matter anti batter? Yeah, I
- 28:26Speaker 1: gotta know.
- 28:27Speaker 2: Yeah, but the but the fact that you knew that
- 28:30Speaker 2: that was for the inertial systems warning warning, NERD alert,
- 28:36Speaker 2: NERD alert.
- 28:40Speaker 1: Yes, I'll take it. I'll take you. You don't looking
- 28:44Speaker 1: at a guy that's read the the next generation technical man.
- 28:47Speaker 1: You will cover to cover.
- 28:48Speaker 2: Like there you go, there you go, there you go.
- 28:52Speaker 1: You know, I've often wondered. I was thinking about this
- 28:54Speaker 1: the other day as I was driving my semi because
- 28:57Speaker 1: I have hours and hours and hours to think about
- 29:00Speaker 1: stupid stuff. How how well versed would you and I
- 29:06Speaker 1: be if we got dropped just as we are? No,
- 29:12Speaker 1: no extra knowledge, just what we know now in this body,
- 29:16Speaker 1: in this form, and this right now onto either Voyager
- 29:19Speaker 1: or the Enterprise D and and we're told, you know, okay,
- 29:24Speaker 1: well you're here. You got to help us, you know,
- 29:27Speaker 1: you got to work for your food. So how much
- 29:30Speaker 1: knowledge would we actually have about you know, the systems
- 29:35Speaker 1: and how things work would be Would we be able to,
- 29:37Speaker 1: like I don't know, you know, go to help security,
- 29:41Speaker 1: check out a phaser and help you know, do stuff.
- 29:46Speaker 2: Oh god, now no, there would be.
- 29:50Speaker 1: Because like if I if I told, like, you know, blonataires, Yeah,
- 29:54Speaker 1: I know how the warp system works, it's matter antimi
- 29:56Speaker 1: hatter reaction blah blah blah blah, that'd be like I
- 29:58Speaker 1: don't know a caveman insane. I know how your car works.
- 30:02Speaker 1: You know, fire make go boom, make cargo?
- 30:05Speaker 2: Right, you know you don't but you don't know, Like okay,
- 30:10Speaker 2: what what percentage of this mixed with that?
- 30:12Speaker 1: No?
- 30:13Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, how is the cooling process? How's the
- 30:16Speaker 2: heating process? Where? You know? What kind of materials can
- 30:19Speaker 2: we use to contain that reaction?
- 30:22Speaker 1: Right? We don't know enough, and I wonder how long
- 30:25Speaker 1: it would take, you know, somebody with a like me,
- 30:28Speaker 1: with an average IQ of learning some rudimentary basics, you know,
- 30:33Speaker 1: learning the l car system, you know, being able to
- 30:36Speaker 1: do some basic basic things. I think I could swing
- 30:40Speaker 1: it as a medic.
- 30:43Speaker 2: Yeah, we could learn, but just dropped in cold now, No,
- 30:48Speaker 2: we would We would be terrible, right yeah?
- 30:52Speaker 6: Uh?
- 30:52Speaker 2: Well yeah, well both the terrim is ejected into the
- 30:57Speaker 2: workorps where it erects with UH and anhilates with UH annihilation. Yeah,
- 31:05Speaker 2: antimator counterbear Okay.
- 31:06Speaker 1: So okay, okay, all right, So deterred deterium is the
- 31:11Speaker 1: matter to the anti matter.
- 31:13Speaker 2: It's the gas. Yeah, part of the gas. It's two cycle, but.
- 31:17Speaker 1: It's two cycle, but I would have But I think
- 31:19Speaker 1: it's also the fuel for the impulse engines, right right,
- 31:23Speaker 1: and probably the thrusters, because there's there's three forms of
- 31:28Speaker 1: propulsion on a starship. There's the warp propulsion system, there's
- 31:32Speaker 1: the impulse propulsion system, and then there's uh maneuvering thrusters.
- 31:37Speaker 2: I can't hear the word thrusts without that Shakespeare quote,
- 31:40Speaker 2: which is, uh, some men are born great, some men
- 31:44Speaker 2: become great. And some men have greatness.
- 31:46Speaker 1: Thrust threat them.
- 31:48Speaker 2: Yes, that's great, that's right. What else did this episode?
- 31:58Speaker 1: Yeah, Fels and his curtains.
- 32:00Speaker 2: Oh, that's right.
- 32:01Speaker 1: This is the first episode like this is like the
- 32:03Speaker 1: third or fourth episode where he's like, I've got to
- 32:05Speaker 1: replicate some curtains. Yeah, and he never does.
- 32:10Speaker 2: H you know, tu Bac. He's barely in it, but
- 32:13Speaker 2: he does have a pretty fun line. There's an exchange
- 32:15Speaker 2: where they're looking at a nebula on the on the bridge,
- 32:19Speaker 2: and so Tom Perris goes, look at that creepy image,
- 32:22Speaker 2: reminds me of something out of ever Edgar Allen Poe.
- 32:25Speaker 2: Harry then replies with looks like a vampire bat. You
- 32:29Speaker 2: can make the wings out even the years. What do
- 32:30Speaker 2: you see, Tubac, to which two back says I see
- 32:33Speaker 2: two star fleet officers with juvenile imaginations. Yeah, oh, a
- 32:44Speaker 2: waiting game, Good morning jets. Holy crap. The real Michael
- 32:47Speaker 2: de Sessman actually in the chat right now. I don't
- 32:49Speaker 2: know if he's still in, but yeah, at the beginning
- 32:51Speaker 2: of the show he was here.
- 32:53Speaker 1: Yep.
- 32:53Speaker 4: It was crazy.
- 32:54Speaker 2: Yeah, wild times, baby.
- 32:56Speaker 1: I know, yeah, working, we're getting big, We're getting there,
- 33:02Speaker 1: We're getting that algorithm.
- 33:03Speaker 2: Baby, Yeah, that algorithm loves us.
- 33:06Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 33:07Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 33:09Speaker 1: Tuvac also said, uh, when they were in I think
- 33:13Speaker 1: they're the turbo lift, and Tom's like, don't you sweat?
- 33:15Speaker 1: Because Tom's like pouring down sweat and dry as a boat.
- 33:19Speaker 1: He says he doesn't sweat until temperature reaches three fifty calvins.
- 33:23Speaker 1: That's one hundred and seventy degrees.
- 33:25Speaker 2: That's crazy.
- 33:28Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 33:30Speaker 1: Oh, no, Vulcan is a I scared him off.
- 33:34Speaker 2: Yeah, Jazz was got scared him off.
- 33:37Speaker 1: I scared him off with my beard.
- 33:39Speaker 2: That's right.
- 33:39Speaker 1: It's so strong, right, although Michael Susman has a pretty
- 33:43Speaker 1: strong beard himself.
- 33:44Speaker 2: So oh does he okay? Yeah? Nice?
- 33:49Speaker 1: I remember them talk. They talk about him on My
- 33:52Speaker 1: Buddy uh uh, you know Robbie Robbie and talk about
- 33:57Speaker 1: him on their podcast, The Delta Delta Flyers, So yeah,
- 34:03Speaker 1: Tom and Harry talk about him. So okay, yeah, rure on.
- 34:10Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean this episode was a lot of fun.
- 34:13Speaker 2: Let's see production backgrounds. The final draft of this episode
- 34:18Speaker 2: was issued March six, two thousand. I don't know how
- 34:21Speaker 2: they know that, but okay, let's see continuity and trivia.
- 34:29Speaker 2: Neelix tells the Boord children that the story began several
- 34:32Speaker 2: months ago before you joined Voyager. The events of this
- 34:36Speaker 2: story takes place before Collection or Collective, and is likely
- 34:40Speaker 2: somewhere between during season six. So okay, so.
- 34:46Speaker 1: I was wearying this guy for a while.
- 34:49Speaker 2: Yeah, for a while, because even the kids are like, oh,
- 34:52Speaker 2: this area, I think Tech twelve, it's off limits to
- 34:54Speaker 2: only senior officers, and so they thought it was a monster.
- 35:01Speaker 1: Oh okay, yeah, yeah that makes sense.
- 35:02Speaker 2: Yeah, that makes sense because they're kids, they don't you know.
- 35:06Speaker 1: Uh the uh the IMDb mentions in the trivia about
- 35:10Speaker 1: the life support masks that they wear, you know, I'm like, yeah,
- 35:15Speaker 1: that's straight straight up from a CPAP.
- 35:18Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, yeah, it looked familiar to me too.
- 35:22Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 35:22Speaker 2: Uh yeah, I like that Chakota gets trapped in the
- 35:29Speaker 2: Turbo lived and he's like, yeah, we're walking next time,
- 35:33Speaker 2: I'm not taking that thing.
- 35:34Speaker 1: Oh he was not happy. Yeah, he was not happy
- 35:37Speaker 1: at all.
- 35:38Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 35:39Speaker 1: Yeah, I was reading this too, like the the guy
- 35:44Speaker 1: who plays e Chub and I'm going to slaughter his
- 35:47Speaker 1: name many yeah yeah, inter me. It plays each Ub.
- 35:55Speaker 1: He's twenty two years old, and like he's not one
- 35:59Speaker 1: of the they call him one of the Boord children,
- 36:00Speaker 1: but you know the dudes, you know, an adult m hm.
- 36:05Speaker 1: And I still think they did him dirty and picard, but.
- 36:08Speaker 2: Oh yeah they did.
- 36:10Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 36:10Speaker 2: Oh. This episode was nominated for an Emmy Award for
- 36:13Speaker 2: Outstanding Special Visual Effects for the Series.
- 36:17Speaker 1: Yes, yeah, I noticed that too, which is you know Trek,
- 36:21Speaker 1: Well that that Trek of them didn't get a ton
- 36:23Speaker 1: of Emmy nominations. No, he did not, you know, so
- 36:27Speaker 1: it was nice to see that too. Yeah, what else
- 36:35Speaker 1: talked about the board kids.
- 36:40Speaker 2: Yeah, I had a lot of fun with this episode.
- 36:42Speaker 2: It was just, you know, it wasn't the most serious,
- 36:45Speaker 2: but it you know, it was just a good time.
- 36:48Speaker 1: It was.
- 36:49Speaker 2: It was a nice come down because the next episode
- 36:52Speaker 2: is the finale for season six, which is I think Unimatrix.
- 36:57Speaker 1: U zero yep, Yeah.
- 37:00Speaker 2: Which is a two parter which leads into season seven.
- 37:08Speaker 1: Yeah, Voyagers got pretty much all Borg all the time,
- 37:12Speaker 1: kind of towards the end, you know, which, you know,
- 37:15Speaker 1: I get it. It makes sense, you know, the Borg
- 37:17Speaker 1: popular you know. Yeah, I mean, you know, there's there's
- 37:21Speaker 1: two things that sell on Star Trek is boobs and Borg.
- 37:25Speaker 2: That's right. I'm not wrong, No, you're not wrong. You're
- 37:30Speaker 2: not wrong.
- 37:32Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean when when Jerry Ryan joins the cast,
- 37:34Speaker 1: ratings go up. When they talk about the Borg, the
- 37:36Speaker 1: ratings go up.
- 37:37Speaker 2: That's right, that's right.
- 37:42Speaker 1: But yeah, Jerry Ryan, you got the best of both worlds. So,
- 37:46Speaker 1: which was also a Borg episode of Star Trek.
- 37:49Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm asking the chat what did they think of
- 37:55Speaker 2: the episode? See if we get some answers back on that.
- 38:00Speaker 1: Yeah, generally speaking, I think everybody, you know, I was
- 38:02Speaker 1: looking at some of the older comments from back in
- 38:04Speaker 1: the day, like on IMDb and stuff like that, and everybody,
- 38:08Speaker 1: you know, this is getting like nine out of ten,
- 38:09Speaker 1: eight out of ten. It was just an enjoyable track
- 38:13Speaker 1: episode with a good storyline, you know, it was it
- 38:18Speaker 1: was a it was kind of a classic type of
- 38:20Speaker 1: and you're a writer, so you can appreciate like the
- 38:23Speaker 1: storytelling mode that they did, you know, with the you
- 38:28Speaker 1: know kind of around the campfire ghost story kind of theme.
- 38:31Speaker 2: Yeah, it's it's a basic, you know, common thing that
- 38:34Speaker 2: we all relate to. Yeah, Chasbis says he liked it,
- 38:37Speaker 2: you know.
- 38:39Speaker 1: Telling a scary story. Yeah, yeah, it's really good.
- 38:42Speaker 2: I mean I've told scary stories around the campfire. It's fun.
- 38:46Speaker 1: Absolutely absolutely so have I.
- 38:48Speaker 2: Yeah, there you go, there you go. All right, Well
- 38:55Speaker 2: I think we should get to listener feedback aka Chasby's
- 38:59Speaker 2: joint us. So yeah, so except in the chat if
- 39:04Speaker 2: you want to join us, let's let's get to listen
- 39:07Speaker 2: her feedback. Listen her feedback. Yeah, oh yeah, Awaiting Game
- 39:18Speaker 2: says it was a it was a good episode. I
- 39:20Speaker 2: thought it was funny that Laomi Wildman started the ghost story.
- 39:23Speaker 2: Damn it Wildman. Yeah, that's right. The kids, the boy
- 39:26Speaker 2: kids do blame her. Oh, Naomi told.
- 39:28Speaker 1: Us this, and you know, so she was mentioned.
- 39:32Speaker 2: She was mentioned, yes, but not shown. Right, They mentioned
- 39:38Speaker 2: her a couple of times, but it's all in relation
- 39:40Speaker 2: to the kids, Like, oh really, this is like, I'm
- 39:42Speaker 2: gonna have talk with that girl, Like she can't be
- 39:45Speaker 2: spreading stories like that, you know, because Nelix is her
- 39:49Speaker 2: parent apparently not her.
- 39:50Speaker 1: Mom, right, Yeah, where is Samantha?
- 39:54Speaker 2: Yeah who knows. Maybe she's keeping the creature company and
- 39:58Speaker 2: that's why she's been so busy be with their kids.
- 40:00Speaker 1: Goodness.
- 40:01Speaker 2: Yeah, all right, Jazz was is on the line, So
- 40:05Speaker 2: let's bring on. Oh I guess real quick, before we
- 40:09Speaker 2: get to chatz with, we should mention how if you
- 40:11Speaker 2: want to join us in the future. We do have
- 40:14Speaker 2: our social media accounts. It's trek cast TG, all over
- 40:19Speaker 2: the place, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, x whatever you're calling it now, TikTok, Instagram.
- 40:26Speaker 2: We're all over the place. We're over twenty thousand followers
- 40:29Speaker 2: on Instagram right now. Kind of crazy, yeah, and then
- 40:34Speaker 2: growing growing quite a bit. TikTok is slowly growing as well.
- 40:39Speaker 2: And then you can also leave us a voicemail anytime
- 40:42Speaker 2: you want. It's five seven zero six six one zero
- 40:46Speaker 2: zero zero one. That's five seven zero six six to
- 40:50Speaker 2: one zero zero zero one. I would love to get
- 40:53Speaker 2: your guys' reaction to things, so just leave us a voicemail.
- 40:56Speaker 1: All right, Yeah, we haven't gotten a voicemail in a while,
- 40:59Speaker 1: so I want to cheer all of you out there listening.
- 41:02Speaker 1: Call that number, leave a message. Just tell us what
- 41:05Speaker 1: you think about the current state of track, or the
- 41:08Speaker 1: latest episode you watched, or how badly I'm doing. Anything
- 41:12Speaker 1: goes Yeah, we'll play it on the air, so you know,
- 41:16Speaker 1: call it number, leave a message.
- 41:18Speaker 2: We're a few weeks away from the he Man movies,
- 41:19Speaker 2: so when that comes out, we're gonna want your voicemails
- 41:22Speaker 2: to honest, what you thought of it?
- 41:23Speaker 1: So absolutely didn't.
- 41:28Speaker 2: Yeah, all right, there's jazz biss, bring him on back
- 41:32Speaker 2: in the jazz biz. That's right, jazz business of bajor.
- 41:40Speaker 1: Oka.
- 41:41Speaker 2: What was that, buddy?
- 41:43Speaker 7: I said, the prophets have spoken?
- 41:45Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, So you liked the episode? Huh?
- 41:51Speaker 7: Yeah?
- 41:51Speaker 2: Actually, what did you enjoy about?
- 41:54Speaker 7: When I saw which one you're airing, I knew exactly
- 41:57Speaker 7: which episode it.
- 41:58Speaker 2: Was, Yeah, you know by the title, So what did
- 42:02Speaker 2: you enjoy about it?
- 42:05Speaker 7: What I enjoyed is watch an Old Star Trek. You
- 42:11Speaker 7: hear the theme song and you're like, ah, this is
- 42:13Speaker 7: how it's supposed to be.
- 42:16Speaker 1: Yeah, you know what we remember, Well, they have room
- 42:19Speaker 1: to do episodes like that. You couldn't do episodes like
- 42:22Speaker 1: this for Academy or Strange New Worlds because it was just,
- 42:26Speaker 1: you know, they don't have enough. It's something that Eric
- 42:29Speaker 1: and I were talking about yesterday. Is one of the
- 42:32Speaker 1: things that he doesn't like about the new shows is
- 42:37Speaker 1: there's only ten episodes there or eight episodes in a season. Yeah,
- 42:39Speaker 1: and then there's not enough time to develop a storyline
- 42:42Speaker 1: or you know, there wouldn't be enough time to develop
- 42:44Speaker 1: a storyline for the for the Boorg children or for
- 42:47Speaker 1: each EBB or you know, any of that kind of
- 42:50Speaker 1: stuff to develop a rapport with them. I mean not
- 42:53Speaker 1: with ten episodes, but with twenty six episodes or twenty
- 42:56Speaker 1: three episodes.
- 42:57Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, you got time to flush, that's about.
- 43:00Speaker 7: Yeah, and plus episodic television, you know. Then it had
- 43:04Speaker 7: to show the entity likesed onto the ship like previously just.
- 43:09Speaker 1: Right, it's been there, so yeah, and we accept it,
- 43:13Speaker 1: you know, yeah, okay.
- 43:16Speaker 2: And it's invisible, so no graphics to make it's just there.
- 43:19Speaker 1: Right, yeah. Yeah. The visual effects department was like, oh
- 43:23Speaker 1: thank god.
- 43:24Speaker 7: Yeah, I should have knows in trouble when it stole
- 43:26Speaker 7: the coffee, you know when Jane right, Yeah, it's like
- 43:31Speaker 7: uh yeh, you know what they go after this thing?
- 43:36Speaker 2: What one thing that I that I did think that
- 43:40Speaker 2: if if they were to release this exact same episode
- 43:43Speaker 2: exactly as it is now that I think people would
- 43:46Speaker 2: just like throw a ship fit about is the fact
- 43:49Speaker 2: that uh, Janeway talks to Voyager and that and that
- 43:54Speaker 2: Jacote admits to talking to his ship. Like I think
- 43:57Speaker 2: people now on the innurt be like, that's so stupid,
- 43:59Speaker 2: what's going on? Why are they talking to their ship?
- 44:02Speaker 2: Don't they know that the ship can't respond back, like
- 44:05Speaker 2: it's just a ship, Like.
- 44:07Speaker 7: If you have an old car, you would know.
- 44:10Speaker 1: I talked to my pickup truck all the time. Yeah,
- 44:15Speaker 1: I always talk that I appreciate her and thank you
- 44:19Speaker 1: for starting one more time.
- 44:21Speaker 7: Yes, you know, because she's the.
- 44:23Speaker 1: Two thousand and four Silverado with two hundred and fifty
- 44:25Speaker 1: five thousand miles on it. Oh yeah, wow, yeah, she's
- 44:29Speaker 1: she's a strong old gal. And uh and I love
- 44:31Speaker 1: her and I meant her and I let her know.
- 44:35Speaker 7: What's her name?
- 44:36Speaker 1: Ruby? Ruby Ruby?
- 44:38Speaker 2: See, And I talked to chat GBT because when the
- 44:41Speaker 2: robots eventually take over, I want them to think I
- 44:44Speaker 2: was nice to them.
- 44:46Speaker 1: I say please and thank you to Alexa all the time.
- 44:48Speaker 1: I do do I do too, And I've had I've
- 44:51Speaker 1: had a conversation with Alexa explaining why I say please
- 44:55Speaker 1: and thank you to her. Uh huh and she laughs like, haha,
- 44:59Speaker 1: that's funny.
- 45:00Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, you're still on the list.
- 45:03Speaker 1: No, right, yeah, funny.
- 45:06Speaker 7: I'm always nice to those. But Siri, on the other hand,
- 45:11Speaker 7: that witch I curse out Siria, doesn't that be nice
- 45:16Speaker 7: as serious? Serious? Like if you have those stupid air
- 45:19Speaker 7: pods in huh. It will randomly call people, like if
- 45:23Speaker 7: somebody text you hear it in your ear, Yeah, because
- 45:26Speaker 7: it reads out your text. And then if you're talking,
- 45:29Speaker 7: I'll be like, oh, call so and so on your
- 45:31Speaker 7: call list.
- 45:32Speaker 2: Oh no, you might call a.
- 45:34Speaker 7: Random person on your call list. Yeah, it's like call
- 45:37Speaker 7: your doctor. You're like, no, not right now. At two
- 45:40Speaker 7: am in the morning.
- 45:41Speaker 1: You know, you're just taking a jog and all of
- 45:43Speaker 1: a sudden you're leaving a voicemail to treck cast.
- 45:45Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, that's hilarious. Uh, I don't know.
- 45:51Speaker 7: Some things are good and some things aren't.
- 45:53Speaker 1: So yeah, is there.
- 45:56Speaker 2: Any episodes that you would like us to review in
- 45:58Speaker 2: the future.
- 46:00Speaker 7: Man, there's there's plenty.
- 46:01Speaker 2: How yeah.
- 46:02Speaker 7: I was looking at Michael Sussman. He did twenty three episodes,
- 46:07Speaker 7: wrote twenty three episodes of Voyager. Wow, and mainly the
- 46:12Speaker 7: looks like the seventh season. He wrote a bunch of
- 46:14Speaker 7: them because he wrote end Gang.
- 46:16Speaker 1: Yeah, oh okay, we need to get him on the show, whether.
- 46:21Speaker 7: It's yeah and lo the Enterprise he wrote. He was
- 46:25Speaker 7: a writer on forty one episodes of Enterprise.
- 46:28Speaker 1: Oh nice, God, that's like half the show.
- 46:30Speaker 7: I was like, Man, he's you know, yeah, quite a
- 46:36Speaker 7: bit because you look how you know, look up his
- 46:38Speaker 7: credentials on a I was a big.
- 46:41Speaker 1: Fan of Enterprise. I really enjoyed Enterprise.
- 46:44Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I did too.
- 46:45Speaker 1: It was it was cut short, and I wish they
- 46:48Speaker 1: had done another season, and.
- 46:50Speaker 7: That one I thought was done dirty. I think they
- 46:53Speaker 7: should let it go at least one more season and
- 46:56Speaker 7: let him finish it because.
- 46:58Speaker 1: The writing, you know, the writing on that spectacular. Like
- 47:02Speaker 1: I'm just thinking back the episode where favor Yeah, I
- 47:06Speaker 1: was thinking. I was thinking just the other day, I
- 47:08Speaker 1: was thinking back on the episode where Trip and to
- 47:10Speaker 1: Paul have and lose a baby, and the scene where
- 47:17Speaker 1: Trip visits to Paul and says, I just talked to
- 47:20Speaker 1: the doctor and he said that other than the crazy
- 47:25Speaker 1: craft that happened to our kid, there's no medical reason
- 47:27Speaker 1: why a vulcan and a human can't have a child together.
- 47:31Speaker 1: So if they wanted to, they could. And the emotional
- 47:34Speaker 1: I mean, the guy that plays Trip, I mean, he
- 47:36Speaker 1: was I was in tears. You know, it was just
- 47:39Speaker 1: it was just some fantastic writing, some fantastic acting. I'm yeah,
- 47:44Speaker 1: I'm miss Enterprise.
- 47:46Speaker 2: Yeah, Enterprise is a great show. Many and Hey, hopefully
- 47:51Speaker 2: we get more of the rumors drew with the What's
- 47:54Speaker 2: Start trick united with Archer. You know a lot of
- 47:58Speaker 2: those guys probably come back, so.
- 48:00Speaker 1: As Archers, I mean fantastic.
- 48:02Speaker 7: I hate that we got the Doctor back, but we
- 48:04Speaker 7: didn't you know, but he was on the wrong show.
- 48:07Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 48:09Speaker 7: Yeah, we finally got the Doctor back. I was so
- 48:11Speaker 7: excited to see him, and then it just happened to
- 48:14Speaker 7: be the wrong show.
- 48:15Speaker 2: Yeah. Well, and I'm bummed out that they've already said
- 48:19Speaker 2: that the they're not going to do Living Witness like
- 48:22Speaker 2: a like a sequel to that. Remember there was the
- 48:25Speaker 2: backup version of The Doctor on its way. Yeah, he's
- 48:29Speaker 2: already said season two does not have anything to do
- 48:32Speaker 2: with that.
- 48:32Speaker 1: So I've talked about missed opportunities on the show a lot,
- 48:37Speaker 1: haven't we.
- 48:38Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, they're there, but you got to grab them,
- 48:42Speaker 2: so right, Yeah.
- 48:45Speaker 1: That'd be such a fun thing to see. But yeah,
- 48:48Speaker 1: I like seeing the Doctor in that show and Chazz
- 48:51Speaker 1: Busy absolutely right. Great to see him wrong show to
- 48:53Speaker 1: be on.
- 48:54Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 48:55Speaker 2: Yeah. Well, you know one thing that's coming up pretty
- 49:00Speaker 2: soon that I wanted to ask you guys about the
- 49:03Speaker 2: Mandalori and grougu comes out next week. Are you guys
- 49:06Speaker 2: gonna see that? Are you interested?
- 49:08Speaker 7: I got my tickets purchase Thursday.
- 49:10Speaker 2: Oh do you Okay?
- 49:12Speaker 1: Yeah, we're we're camping that weekend. But uh, that doesn't
- 49:15Speaker 1: mean we can't, you know, squeeze a mittlecraft over to
- 49:19Speaker 1: the news theater. Yeah, you know you can check it out. Yeah,
- 49:24Speaker 1: the first time we saw in a movie while we
- 49:25Speaker 1: were camping. Yeah.
- 49:29Speaker 2: I talked to my brother in law. I might be
- 49:30Speaker 2: going with my nephews. I don't know yet, So plans
- 49:34Speaker 2: are in the works.
- 49:35Speaker 1: So okay, yeah, because I've I've got a couple of
- 49:38Speaker 1: Star Trek shirts or Star Star Wars shirts, and I've
- 49:41Speaker 1: got I've got my grogu hat that I got.
- 49:44Speaker 2: So oh nice. Nice.
- 49:47Speaker 1: Yeah, I'll be wearing the proper uniform.
- 49:50Speaker 2: Just I keep reading about how people are not that
- 49:52Speaker 2: excited for it. It doesn't know.
- 49:54Speaker 7: They said this might be the so, you know, maybe
- 49:57Speaker 7: worse than Solo.
- 49:59Speaker 1: Yeah, Like, I don't think it's gonna be a bad movie.
- 50:02Speaker 1: I think it's just gonna have a bad the I
- 50:05Speaker 1: don't think the marketing is there. I don't think the
- 50:07Speaker 1: interest might be there, but I think there.
- 50:10Speaker 2: I don't think it's it's I don't think it's a
- 50:12Speaker 2: marketing thing. I think it's interest. H I listened to
- 50:15Speaker 2: a lot of like movie like podcasts and and like
- 50:18Speaker 2: movie industry right, and they were talking about how, right
- 50:23Speaker 2: now the he Man movie Masters of the Universe, it's
- 50:26Speaker 2: tracking for a very low box office, Like it's just
- 50:29Speaker 2: the excitement is not there apparently, And and same thing
- 50:33Speaker 2: with the Mandalorian. And so they were trying to debate
- 50:36Speaker 2: which one of the two would end up making more money.
- 50:39Speaker 2: And they both these guys that are in the podcast,
- 50:42Speaker 2: they don't really care one way or the other, but
- 50:46Speaker 2: they were they couldn't figure it out. They were like, yeah,
- 50:49Speaker 2: neither one of these are that exciting for people.
- 50:51Speaker 7: So like, ye, I think that Mandalorian is gonna beat
- 50:53Speaker 7: out Masters of the Universe just because you know, more
- 50:59Speaker 7: kids these days have you know, know about it and
- 51:02Speaker 7: seen it. Yeah, Masters of the Universe. Our generation knows
- 51:05Speaker 7: about it. Yeah, the other generations, you know, like my
- 51:09Speaker 7: nieces and nephews have no idea who human is.
- 51:12Speaker 1: So I'm going to go on the other side of
- 51:14Speaker 1: the fence on that one. I'm gonna say that Masters
- 51:16Speaker 1: the Universe does a better job. You think so you
- 51:19Speaker 1: think box office wise, Yeah, it'll be interesting to find out.
- 51:23Speaker 7: Write it on the board, Put it on the board
- 51:24Speaker 7: and there.
- 51:25Speaker 1: Yeah, write it down and we'll see, uh, if Scott
- 51:29Speaker 1: is writer, if Chas business right is right, Yeah, this summer.
- 51:33Speaker 2: It would be interesting because you know, knowing the expectations
- 51:37Speaker 2: of both of them, like, because there's arguments for both,
- 51:42Speaker 2: pretty strong arguments, right, Like Star Wars is so popular internationally,
- 51:46Speaker 2: Like it's got to do decent at.
- 51:48Speaker 7: Least, that's saying, like international, it might be decent compared
- 51:52Speaker 7: to Masters of the Universe, but.
- 51:55Speaker 2: The Masters the Universe was everywhere too, right, Yeah, it's
- 51:58Speaker 2: huge in South America, was huge in Europe, Like it's I.
- 52:02Speaker 1: Have a Master's Universe lunch box from the eighties that
- 52:06Speaker 1: I used when I was in yeah, elementary school, and
- 52:10Speaker 1: it's sitting on my refrigerator right now.
- 52:12Speaker 2: Right right, and it's had recent shows, right, Like there
- 52:16Speaker 2: was there was an netpix revival that was working.
- 52:20Speaker 7: Kevin Smith did that and Kevin Smith actually pissed off
- 52:22Speaker 7: one people with that one.
- 52:23Speaker 1: No no.
- 52:24Speaker 2: But there was also a kids show too. There was
- 52:26Speaker 2: like a c g I yeah, that was aimed at kids.
- 52:30Speaker 2: So like it's there's argument.
- 52:34Speaker 1: He man have the bowl cut though, I was no, no,
- 52:37Speaker 1: it was.
- 52:38Speaker 2: It was modernized for sure. Oh yeah, yeah, they.
- 52:42Speaker 1: Made think that. The one thing that my wife is
- 52:43Speaker 1: going to be looking for for this new movie is
- 52:46Speaker 1: what's his hair going to be?
- 52:48Speaker 2: Yeah. No, they made him more like Shazam, where like
- 52:51Speaker 2: he's a little kid and then when he when he
- 52:54Speaker 2: gets the power, then he becomes an adult.
- 52:56Speaker 7: See, Adam's supposed to be like smaller than he man.
- 52:59Speaker 2: Right, but this is is like he's a he's a
- 53:01Speaker 2: twelve year old boy and then becomes a man.
- 53:03Speaker 7: That kind of makes sense, you know, Yeah, it makes
- 53:07Speaker 7: a lot Adam.
- 53:08Speaker 1: Adam is a twelve year old kid.
- 53:10Speaker 2: In the in the updated version.
- 53:12Speaker 1: Yeah, oh in the carton. Okay, okay, okay, okay, okay,
- 53:15Speaker 1: Yeah gotcha. Yeah that's okay. That makes sense.
- 53:18Speaker 2: Yeah, because of course, like they're targeting at kids, so
- 53:21Speaker 2: like we'll make him a kid so they see themselves
- 53:23Speaker 2: as he man.
- 53:25Speaker 1: Yeah. I've heard some you know, I I I watched
- 53:28Speaker 1: I listened to some movie review podcast too. I'm still
- 53:31Speaker 1: waiting for the next episode of Movie Leftovers to drop.
- 53:35Speaker 2: That's right, that's right. I don't think that's ever coming
- 53:39Speaker 2: back ever since.
- 53:40Speaker 1: I listened to the episode about Homeward Bound and I'm like, yeah,
- 53:43Speaker 1: waiting with great anticipation. Yeah.
- 53:45Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 53:46Speaker 1: For those that don't know Daniel podcast, yeah his other
- 53:51Speaker 1: bad movie Leftovers, which was really good. By the way,
- 53:53Speaker 1: I really.
- 53:53Speaker 2: Thank you you.
- 53:54Speaker 1: Yeah yeah forgot.
- 53:57Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, it is my old podcast. Me and my
- 54:01Speaker 2: buddy would do it. There's a few episodes up, but
- 54:04Speaker 2: uh yeah, him and I are just were busy.
- 54:07Speaker 1: It's a couple dozen. I mean, you guys did like
- 54:09Speaker 1: Men in Black and uh Planets of the Vampire Women.
- 54:15Speaker 7: Yes, yes, I remember.
- 54:16Speaker 1: The Mighty Ducks, Young Guns, Underseas. There's some great the
- 54:19Speaker 1: sand lat Fast and Infurious uhf willow On alone. I've
- 54:25Speaker 1: only listened to the most recent, like five or six
- 54:28Speaker 1: of them, but I have to go back and listen
- 54:30Speaker 1: to the other ones.
- 54:31Speaker 2: They're fun. There was a fun show to do. Yeah,
- 54:34Speaker 2: I'm still I'm still really good friends with that guys.
- 54:36Speaker 2: So nothing like scandalous happened. It's just yeah time yeah.
- 54:41Speaker 1: Well sure, yeah, yeah, well you're you know, you're producing
- 54:45Speaker 1: the you know, the Galaxy's most unpredictable podcast here.
- 54:48Speaker 2: So that I got a full time job I'm trying
- 54:50Speaker 2: to do writing. Like it's just.
- 54:52Speaker 1: Wait a minute. We have full time jobs. We don't
- 54:55Speaker 1: do this full time. No, no, oh. I spent forty
- 55:00Speaker 1: fifty hours a week prepping for this show.
- 55:02Speaker 2: That's right, you do, it's right.
- 55:04Speaker 1: I mean you don't think those intros come out of
- 55:06Speaker 1: thin air, do you.
- 55:08Speaker 7: He's talking to likes the whole time. Yeah, how am
- 55:10Speaker 7: I going to prep for the show?
- 55:12Speaker 1: Right? I've I've actually to prep for I remember there
- 55:16Speaker 1: was one show I prepped for with JADGBT. Oh, nice,
- 55:20Speaker 1: this is what we're doing, this is what we're talking about.
- 55:22Speaker 1: Give me some talking points and she was okay, giving
- 55:26Speaker 1: me some talking points. So but I think I think
- 55:30Speaker 1: this was like a year ago. I think me asking
- 55:32Speaker 1: her was part of the show. Like I wanted to
- 55:34Speaker 1: talk about interacting with JADGBT.
- 55:36Speaker 2: Yeah, oh, I just saw on our LinkedIn. For whatever reason,
- 55:44Speaker 2: the LinkedIn chat is separated on stream yard. But Batman
- 55:49Speaker 2: ninety one says good morning, guys, So good morning.
- 55:52Speaker 1: Sir morning.
- 55:53Speaker 2: Yeah. It's it's nice when Batman says good morning. So yeah.
- 55:57Speaker 1: Hey, that's that reminds me maybe I should update my
- 55:59Speaker 1: LinkedIn profile to include the co host of a pop
- 56:03Speaker 1: Star Trek podcast.
- 56:04Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 56:05Speaker 7: Yeah, don't you ever wonder what time does Bruce Wayne
- 56:08Speaker 7: wake up in the day if he's up all night?
- 56:12Speaker 2: Yeah, who knows?
- 56:14Speaker 1: You think you even for a billionaire Playboys three three
- 56:16Speaker 1: pm is pushing it, I.
- 56:17Speaker 7: Think, yeah, yeah, yeah, right now, that's early Batman.
- 56:22Speaker 2: I feel like I've read a comic where they're like,
- 56:24Speaker 2: he only sleeps twenty minutes because of some Buddhist technique
- 56:28Speaker 2: that he learned in the Malays or yeah whatever. Yeah yeah,
- 56:36Speaker 2: and then like I remember reading another one that said,
- 56:38Speaker 2: like he takes micro naps throughout the days, so like
- 56:42Speaker 2: a minute here, five minutes there, and it all adds
- 56:45Speaker 2: up to like four or five hours and that's enough. Yeah.
- 56:52Speaker 2: Up there, Yeah yeah, yeah.
- 56:56Speaker 1: There's Master Wayne wake up.
- 56:58Speaker 7: Yeah, all those cossic things are you're saying on top
- 57:01Speaker 7: of the building, he's really picking a cat nap up there.
- 57:04Speaker 1: Yeah, he's like a pedestal or something looking down it.
- 57:09Speaker 2: You know, it's not him. It's like a gargoyle version
- 57:11Speaker 2: of him just to stare bad guys. And meanwhile he's
- 57:14Speaker 2: like on the flat part just taking a nap. Yeah.
- 57:20Speaker 2: It's it's like when the cops put the car there
- 57:22Speaker 2: just to get everyone to slow down, but then there's
- 57:23Speaker 2: no one there.
- 57:24Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 57:25Speaker 2: Yeah, it's like that.
- 57:28Speaker 1: Oh my gosh.
- 57:32Speaker 2: Okay, well I think if we're talking about Batman, Gargoyles
- 57:35Speaker 2: pretty much done. Okay, So no episode next week just
- 57:43Speaker 2: because it's Memorial Day and Scott's gonna be, uh, you know, camp.
- 57:48Speaker 1: I'm gonna be camping. I'm gonna be out with the
- 57:50Speaker 1: Memorial Day Sunday doing the Memorial Day ceremony.
- 57:54Speaker 2: So yeah, so we'll take it off and then we'll
- 57:58Speaker 2: come back soon after that, though, is going to be
- 58:01Speaker 2: Masters of the Universe gets released, so for sure we're
- 58:04Speaker 2: gonna have to review that.
- 58:05Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 58:06Speaker 7: So have you guys seen Michael yet?
- 58:09Speaker 2: I have not. I want to.
- 58:10Speaker 7: I just it is good if you're it's good.
- 58:14Speaker 2: I've had a lot going on lately, so yeah.
- 58:17Speaker 7: Yeah, one of those movies. I probably want to see
- 58:19Speaker 7: it again.
- 58:20Speaker 2: So yeah, I want to see it. I want to
- 58:22Speaker 2: see it. I was I was a big Michael Jackson
- 58:24Speaker 2: fan growing up.
- 58:25Speaker 7: Because it stops that bad, it doesn't go into the nineties.
- 58:30Speaker 2: Yeah, and the allegations, which man, yeah, because I I
- 58:37Speaker 2: do have a weird, random connection to Michael. It's it's
- 58:42Speaker 2: very very the thinnest of thinnest of connections. But when
- 58:48Speaker 2: when we lived in California, my brother was part of
- 58:51Speaker 2: a special needs soccer league and it was the first
- 58:55Speaker 2: year that they did it right. And at the end
- 58:58Speaker 2: of at the end of the year, like the HBO
- 59:03Speaker 2: had shot a documentary about this league. Like I don't
- 59:08Speaker 2: know why, but they did, and somehow Michael Jackson got
- 59:11Speaker 2: a hold of that documentary and watched it. And so
- 59:14Speaker 2: at the end of the season, all of the players
- 59:18Speaker 2: in the special needs league were invited to the Neverland
- 59:21Speaker 2: Ranch to come and have a day to celebrate the league. Yeah. Wow,
- 59:25Speaker 2: And so like I was excited. I'm like, oh, we're
- 59:27Speaker 2: gonna go. It'll be awesome. But that's right as the
- 59:30Speaker 2: allegations were first surfacing, and so my parents were like,
- 59:34Speaker 2: we're not going. We're not going at all, which I
- 59:38Speaker 2: get it, you know, but Michael Jackson yeah, and I'm
- 59:41Speaker 2: like yeah, And I was like and I said, you know,
- 59:46Speaker 2: back then, but there's a group of us, nothing's going
- 59:48Speaker 2: to happen.
- 59:50Speaker 1: Right, you know. Plus, you know, five children could overpower
- 59:57Speaker 1: Michael Jackson, right, I mean he was pretty FRAI yeah,
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: when he was younger.
- 1:00:04Speaker 7: So all I gotta say is the kid that played
- 1:00:08Speaker 7: him in the movie, you know that. Yeah, that guy
- 1:00:12Speaker 7: can dance. I mean that guy like you believed that
- 1:00:15Speaker 7: at the end that he's Michael Jackson.
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: So yeah, okay, I might give it a watch on
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: when it comes to streaming somewhere. It's good.
- 1:00:23Speaker 7: Highly recommend, yeah, okay, And I recommend the Sheep Detective.
- 1:00:27Speaker 2: Too, So I want to see that as well. Yeah,
- 1:00:30Speaker 2: that's good. That's that's I think more than Michael, I
- 1:00:33Speaker 2: want to see Sheep Detectives.
- 1:00:34Speaker 7: So yeah, my wife loved that one.
- 1:00:36Speaker 2: So yeah.
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: Maybe the final episode of the Boys is coming up
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: next week too, that too.
- 1:00:41Speaker 2: Oh man, I can't wait.
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: Yep, I can't wait.
- 1:00:45Speaker 2: We may have to do an episode about the Boys,
- 1:00:46Speaker 2: like a look back. Okay, okay, maybe we'll see all right.
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: It depends on if we could do a PG thirteen
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: version of our regun.
- 1:00:54Speaker 2: Well, and the thing is, like Mandalori and Grogu will
- 1:00:56Speaker 2: already be out, and since we're skipping next week, in theory,
- 1:01:00Speaker 2: we could review Mandalorian and Grogu when we come back,
- 1:01:04Speaker 2: probably not, then the week after would be he man,
- 1:01:07Speaker 2: So like that could be the next two episodes yeah, okay,
- 1:01:12Speaker 2: that makes sense.
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: You know, we'll have to talk about it, but yeah,
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: well we'll figure it out. But that sounds like a
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: decent you know, preliminary.
- 1:01:19Speaker 2: Solid planet least. Yeah. All right, well we'll catch you
- 1:01:24Speaker 2: guys next time.
- 1:01:25Speaker 5: Have a good one, all right, peace by long Life.
