- 2:00Speaker 9: Uh.
- 2:01Speaker 1: Things getting a little bit more serious week by week
- 2:04Speaker 1: around here. Six games in and the fighting Bobby Petrino's
- 2:11Speaker 1: awaiting on Saturday afternoon.
- 2:14Speaker 9: Definitely fighting on offense, maybe not on defense, that's so
- 2:17Speaker 9: much Bobby. Bobby will put some points on the board.
- 2:19Speaker 9: It's how many are you going to be able to
- 2:21Speaker 9: keep from getting on the board.
- 2:22Speaker 10: This glass is filled with maroon kool aid. So yeah,
- 2:28Speaker 10: I'm drinking. That's dangerous, I know, but I just there's
- 2:33Speaker 10: very dangerous. Team is far better coach than any team
- 2:36Speaker 10: I've seen in Texas, A and M.
- 2:37Speaker 7: A long time.
- 2:38Speaker 9: You're over the syndrome.
- 2:40Speaker 10: Yeah, I'm probably not battered sending it home. You still
- 2:46Speaker 10: take some medication for that, Yeah, But no, I think
- 2:49Speaker 10: that this team has already proven to me that they're
- 2:52Speaker 10: different than many of the other teams under Yeah. Well,
- 2:56Speaker 10: I mean, you know, yeah, take your pick, right the
- 2:59Speaker 10: last three coaches. I mean for sure, I don't know.
- 3:02Speaker 10: You know, r C had some very good coach teams,
- 3:04Speaker 10: but they weren't playing against this level of competition. So yeah,
- 3:08Speaker 10: I'm really optimistic. I still don't think they're as good
- 3:11Speaker 10: as like that twenty twelve team talent wise, or maybe
- 3:15Speaker 10: even a couple other teams. But because of the parody
- 3:19Speaker 10: in college football and because of that schedule, they got
- 3:22Speaker 10: a great chance to go ten to two, eleven to one,
- 3:25Speaker 10: who knows, twelve to zero. I mean, that's there's nothing
- 3:28Speaker 10: that would surprise me at this point. Well, the only
- 3:30Speaker 10: thing that surprised me is if they lose more than
- 3:33Speaker 10: two games. I mean, I don't see two games more
- 3:36Speaker 10: than two games.
- 3:38Speaker 1: We've talked considerable about about schedule and how they had
- 3:41Speaker 1: to get through this three game run right home.
- 3:44Speaker 11: You had to win at home.
- 3:45Speaker 10: Well, that was RC's recipe, always right when the game,
- 3:48Speaker 10: when the home games, right.
- 3:49Speaker 1: And sure his other one they remember November. Yeah, it
- 3:53Speaker 1: was this phrase.
- 3:54Speaker 9: Correct.
- 3:55Speaker 11: We ain't close to there yet, We're getting closer.
- 4:00Speaker 1: They go to Arkansas, doesn't look nearly as downing as
- 4:03Speaker 1: when the season started.
- 4:04Speaker 11: They go to l s U.
- 4:05Speaker 1: Doesn't look nearly as downing as when the season started.
- 4:09Speaker 1: They go to Missouri, which I still think is a
- 4:12Speaker 1: good football team, but they let me down on the
- 4:14Speaker 1: Saturday there.
- 4:15Speaker 10: They're good, but they can't throw the football. I mean
- 4:18Speaker 10: they can run the football. If they could throw with
- 4:20Speaker 10: a lick, they would have beaten Alabama.
- 4:22Speaker 9: Yeah, but they showed you they can't are dangerous because, oh,
- 4:25Speaker 9: no doubt, they could definitely beat A and M what
- 4:28Speaker 9: they showed against Salabama.
- 4:30Speaker 10: Yeah, but I think A and M at this point
- 4:32Speaker 10: is a better team than Alabama. I mean I do
- 4:37Speaker 10: and you know, head ups, it's so hard because you know,
- 4:40Speaker 10: you look at old Miss and you're like, god, how
- 4:42Speaker 10: do they barely beat Washington State? I mean North Texas
- 4:44Speaker 10: hammered Washington State and you know, so you can't do that.
- 4:48Speaker 10: You know, this team played this team so for now,
- 4:50Speaker 10: but it's it's impossible not to as a fan because
- 4:54Speaker 10: you're going, dang, you know, these these guys, they're not
- 4:57Speaker 10: very good. LSU was not that good offensively watch them.
- 5:00Speaker 10: I'm like, oh, Miss, really, I mean that was not
- 5:04Speaker 10: very impressive. I mean, you didn't even wake up. I
- 5:08Speaker 10: know it was eleven a m. Kickoff, but they must
- 5:10Speaker 10: have been out drinking late on.
- 5:12Speaker 1: Little road or well know a little bit more after
- 5:15Speaker 1: this Georgia game this weekend.
- 5:16Speaker 9: Yeah right, I'm still a little uh on A and M.
- 5:20Speaker 9: They gotta do it on the road. I know they
- 5:22Speaker 9: did a se game, but the fact they need to
- 5:24Speaker 9: go on the road in a conference game and to
- 5:27Speaker 9: me have a good outing, which they have.
- 5:29Speaker 10: Well, I think it's a golden opportunity because it's a
- 5:32Speaker 10: it's a bad Arkansas team and the and you get
- 5:33Speaker 10: to play them in the afternoon.
- 5:35Speaker 11: With do so that's a big deal. Is a big
- 5:38Speaker 11: deal because.
- 5:39Speaker 10: That that kind of builds you up to go to
- 5:41Speaker 10: L s U you know at night, which yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 5:46Speaker 10: absolutely to be Yeah yeah. I scheduled a whole prison
- 5:50Speaker 10: ministry got you know, during the day because I knew
- 5:54Speaker 10: that was gonna be a night game.
- 5:55Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 5:55Speaker 9: Oh, I think when you're gonna put the L s
- 5:57Speaker 9: U fans into prison.
- 6:00Speaker 1: I don't think anybody on the Bayo who is going
- 6:02Speaker 1: to put LSU fans in prison?
- 6:03Speaker 10: No, probably not them.
- 6:05Speaker 1: It have to be pretty serious to give them badges
- 6:07Speaker 1: of courage. Actually, they have to be pretty serious. But yeah,
- 6:11Speaker 1: Arkansas has a good warm up for baton Roue. But
- 6:15Speaker 1: you know, have have they packed it in? I mean,
- 6:18Speaker 1: they played hard against Tennessee.
- 6:20Speaker 9: You know, I think once again is A and M
- 6:23Speaker 9: would have to beat themselves because I do expect Arkansas
- 6:26Speaker 9: has scored twenty one points and work Petrino has proven
- 6:29Speaker 9: he's got a decent quarterback, he's got the got the
- 6:32Speaker 9: weapons there. They're probably going to score on offense. Can
- 6:36Speaker 9: they do anything on defense? And can A and M
- 6:38Speaker 9: not give them anything? Just drop the ball to twelve.
- 6:41Speaker 10: And you start talking about it. Georgian and I was
- 6:43Speaker 10: like I'm watching Georgia and Auburn. I'm like, good, grief.
- 6:47Speaker 11: Look a lot like A and M. And Auburn didn't.
- 6:49Speaker 10: Yeah it did. And like in Auburn, just man, they're
- 6:52Speaker 10: just not good and yet they had a chance to
- 6:54Speaker 10: win that game.
- 6:55Speaker 11: That's a robbery game.
- 6:55Speaker 9: Would I would have never thought that DJ Gerkin would
- 7:00Speaker 9: coach Hugh Freeze. The fact is that Auburn has this
- 7:02Speaker 9: really good defense and they can't score. And you told
- 7:06Speaker 9: me about ten eleven years ago and those first few
- 7:09Speaker 9: times where it like what every year all missed?
- 7:12Speaker 10: They did they care about football at Auburn Alabama? Who Yeah,
- 7:15Speaker 10: they're not very happy.
- 7:16Speaker 11: They're not very happy.
- 7:18Speaker 1: No, no, he the only way he saves his job
- 7:22Speaker 1: is to beat Alabama, and I'm not sure that's going
- 7:24Speaker 1: to be good enough, depending on how many games HERI
- 7:27Speaker 1: before that A right, that's the only chance.
- 7:30Speaker 9: Well and losing ugly. You know, he's supposed to be
- 7:32Speaker 9: an offensive minded coach. When you're scoring ten points in
- 7:35Speaker 9: your offensive minded it with today's rules, got out of
- 7:37Speaker 9: quarterback guys.
- 7:38Speaker 10: He got the wrong quarterback. I mean, yeah, he got
- 7:41Speaker 10: that wrong quarterback.
- 7:42Speaker 7: He did?
- 7:43Speaker 10: You know that guy is not good Jackson is just
- 7:45Speaker 10: not have it. He doesn't have the it factor.
- 7:48Speaker 9: No, it's not even close. You know what's funny is
- 7:51Speaker 9: they brought him up last year to the SEC media
- 7:55Speaker 9: days with Oklahoma. It went over and you do make
- 8:00Speaker 9: a lot of you know, decisions on first impressions. Sure,
- 8:03Speaker 9: because I always talk about the time I went over
- 8:05Speaker 9: there in LSU's quarterback was what's his face? At Cincinnati Burrows?
- 8:11Speaker 9: He just let you yeah two minutes. Yeah, No, that
- 8:14Speaker 9: wasn't the case.
- 8:15Speaker 10: I call him Jeff Burrows. I can't believe that. Where
- 8:17Speaker 10: can that come out?
- 8:18Speaker 1: Well, Joe, I spent a lot of time yelling at
- 8:20Speaker 1: Jeff Burrows. Yeah, nineteen seventy five Rangers with.
- 8:24Speaker 9: Arnold two years, you know, or this year he just
- 8:28Speaker 9: didn't have it in the charisma. Maybe leeds his team
- 8:31Speaker 9: better than what he's in. Sure, because like Pobby, they
- 8:34Speaker 9: go over here and go like, okay, this guy's Johnny Junior.
- 8:37Speaker 1: You go, yeah, give me some more quotes. Yeah, yeah,
- 8:40Speaker 1: you can see why people play.
- 8:41Speaker 9: For him, Jackson Arnold.
- 8:43Speaker 1: I'm thinking, hmm, Well, in my mind, personality is important,
- 8:48Speaker 1: but if you're winning, it doesn't matter. If you're completing
- 8:50Speaker 1: those passes, it doesn't matter, right, if you're a jerk,
- 8:52Speaker 1: it doesn't matter if you're winning.
- 8:54Speaker 9: But it's amazing, how just amazing how that works. Sometimes
- 8:57Speaker 9: your your flumboy.
- 8:59Speaker 10: Troy, Troy Aikman didn't have a lot of personality. He
- 9:01Speaker 10: did not know, so he did not but he won.
- 9:04Speaker 1: He won.
- 9:05Speaker 9: He had a transferred to he found that one in college.
- 9:07Speaker 10: That's true.
- 9:08Speaker 9: You're right, that's true.
- 9:08Speaker 7: No, you're right.
- 9:09Speaker 9: People forget that.
- 9:11Speaker 10: That's pretty interesting. I don't know. It's all that Netflix
- 9:14Speaker 10: about how much Troy hated Berry's Yeah, oh yeah, shock,
- 9:17Speaker 10: oh yeah.
- 9:18Speaker 11: They did not get along.
- 9:19Speaker 10: No, he not at all.
- 9:22Speaker 1: I mean Barry was.
- 9:23Speaker 11: The anti Jimmy.
- 9:24Speaker 10: Sure.
- 9:24Speaker 1: I mean, you couldn't have had more polar opposite coaches, right,
- 9:28Speaker 1: Barry's going to roll the ball out, fellas, have fun,
- 9:31Speaker 1: show up for kickoff, let's.
- 9:32Speaker 9: Win inside of jail.
- 9:34Speaker 10: Well then when you get that.
- 9:39Speaker 11: But couldn't have been more opposite, right.
- 9:42Speaker 10: Yeah, I just it's hard to believe that he went
- 9:44Speaker 10: to Oklahoma to go play for Barry as much as
- 9:48Speaker 10: he hates it. Yeah, oh my god.
- 9:50Speaker 1: And plus with the history of running the football. Oh
- 9:53Speaker 1: yeah right, yeah, that's what they did.
- 9:55Speaker 11: They were the wishbone man.
- 9:56Speaker 10: All right, why would you ever do that?
- 9:58Speaker 1: I don't know. Well, yes they did. They knew how
- 10:01Speaker 1: to run the football. God, you know, I didn't see
- 10:05Speaker 1: that Saturday. There were no Greg Pruittz or Joe Washington's
- 10:08Speaker 1: or Billy Simms on the field on Saturday.
- 10:11Speaker 10: That's a bad that's that's not a good team. Thank you, yeah,
- 10:15Speaker 10: thank you.
- 10:16Speaker 9: Defense.
- 10:17Speaker 10: Yeah, okay, defense.
- 10:19Speaker 9: But that was a painful game to watch, just because
- 10:22Speaker 9: we were so used to seeing offense and boy, that
- 10:25Speaker 9: that was an ugly game.
- 10:27Speaker 10: I listened to that game, you know, quite a bit
- 10:29Speaker 10: of it because I was driving, and uh, just Lee,
- 10:33Speaker 10: I mean you talk about just ugly. I mean that
- 10:35Speaker 10: game six nothing for a long time, and then you
- 10:38Speaker 10: know Texas finally catches, you know, gets into gear. But yeah,
- 10:42Speaker 10: I mean Texas runs away from OU. I'm like, god, Lee,
- 10:46Speaker 10: because you know, oh, You's biggest win, I guess was
- 10:48Speaker 10: a Michigan. They were a home against, right, and you
- 10:52Speaker 10: know they get a lot of credit for beating Auburn barely.
- 10:56Speaker 10: I don't understand why.
- 10:57Speaker 9: Here's here's the deal. There's probably some suitor fans Saturday
- 11:00Speaker 9: wish they had Jackson Armald back.
- 11:02Speaker 11: Yeah, it was ugly.
- 11:04Speaker 9: Hear now, I know he was hurt. If he threw
- 11:07Speaker 9: three or four, he should have thrown five or six
- 11:08Speaker 9: in or so.
- 11:09Speaker 1: As sec Short said today, he threw really tight spirals
- 11:12Speaker 1: three times to the wrong people.
- 11:14Speaker 10: Yeah. I enjoyed shorts.
- 11:18Speaker 11: They were pretty good.
- 11:19Speaker 9: Good. It was good. That was good.
- 11:20Speaker 1: I like the James Franklin reference. They just paid James
- 11:24Speaker 1: Franklin forty nine million dollars in the agons Amateurs so true.
- 11:31Speaker 11: You know you love that.
- 11:32Speaker 9: You can also make that joke.
- 11:33Speaker 10: I like Aggie syndrome being there.
- 11:35Speaker 9: Yeah, she showed up. You can make that joke when
- 11:38Speaker 9: you're also six to Oh of course you can't. It's incredible, like, hey,
- 11:41Speaker 9: of course you can. You're not nearly as sensitive right now.
- 11:44Speaker 9: Seventy eight million dollars of my friends. We got the uh,
- 11:47Speaker 9: we got the banana his vanus so.
- 11:49Speaker 1: The first so the first quarter, I'm excited about. That's
- 11:52Speaker 1: Fantaga bananas at carl Field. Uh, it's a short porch
- 11:55Speaker 1: and left, it's a short porch.
- 11:58Speaker 9: Really can't paying for Jimbo.
- 11:59Speaker 11: He liked like them to exactly.
- 12:01Speaker 1: Exactly fourteen fourteen, first quarter on on Saturday night, and
- 12:07Speaker 1: you're going, you know, because coming off what Florida had
- 12:11Speaker 1: done the week before, it's like, okay, this is what
- 12:14Speaker 1: we saw last week, you know. But A and M's
- 12:17Speaker 1: it's like, now we're done now right started the second
- 12:22Speaker 1: quarter about halfway less than halfway through the second quarter,
- 12:25Speaker 1: It's like, now.
- 12:26Speaker 10: This is why I say there's so much better coach,
- 12:28Speaker 10: because what they did is they made adjustments after that
- 12:30Speaker 10: first quarter, and I thought, like the scripted plays that
- 12:33Speaker 10: Florida ran, they ran it to a t.
- 12:35Speaker 11: Yes, they did.
- 12:36Speaker 10: After they scripted plays, you could feel like the and
- 12:39Speaker 10: that's what I thought, just adjusted. And I wonder how.
- 12:42Speaker 1: Many plays they script is it twenty?
- 12:45Speaker 10: They scored three points the rest of the in the
- 12:47Speaker 10: three quarters exactly, So what A and M did to
- 12:51Speaker 10: run away from them was very impressive.
- 12:53Speaker 9: They need a longer script if you're Florida. But I'm
- 12:56Speaker 9: sitting there not picked kind of a defensive game and
- 12:58Speaker 9: I had to laugh. On the first play, the tight
- 13:02Speaker 9: end pretends he's block and then goes out and there's
- 13:04Speaker 9: nobody with him. He rambles for twenty four yards a
- 13:07Speaker 9: big tight end. Yeah, And I go, I haven't seen
- 13:10Speaker 9: that for a year, And I go, is this gonna
- 13:12Speaker 9: be a flashback or we're gonna see mistackle. Yeah, yeah,
- 13:15Speaker 9: we're gonna see people. No, it got to be fourteen fourteen,
- 13:19Speaker 9: and then it was like ad put the big boy
- 13:21Speaker 9: pants on their defense and that game was over on
- 13:24Speaker 9: both lines. And it was a little bit like the
- 13:28Speaker 9: Mississippi State game. If you kept on playing, Florida wasn't
- 13:31Speaker 9: gonna score. You know, Mississippi State couldn't score a and
- 13:34Speaker 9: M's defense and Elka keeps saying he's only a little involved.
- 13:38Speaker 9: I don't believe that. I believe he's a lot involved. Yeah,
- 13:42Speaker 9: it's a lot different.
- 13:43Speaker 10: Yeah, And again I thought, why in the world is
- 13:48Speaker 10: Florida going for this on fourth and six? Why in
- 13:53Speaker 10: I walked away from the stadium thinking, well, that was
- 13:55Speaker 10: a really bad decision. You can't make a third down conversion?
- 13:59Speaker 9: Did They ran on third and six? So that was
- 14:01Speaker 9: the dumb play?
- 14:02Speaker 10: I mean, but you can't. There's there's way too much
- 14:04Speaker 10: time in there. And I got home, it turned on
- 14:07Speaker 10: the SEC network and it was Chris dor and he
- 14:10Speaker 10: was just going off on how bad Napier is and
- 14:13Speaker 10: what a bad decision that was, and it was like, yeah,
- 14:17Speaker 10: it is. I mean, you punt the ball and you
- 14:18Speaker 10: see if you still can't you know, be in that game,
- 14:21Speaker 10: but you don't give the ball to A and M
- 14:23Speaker 10: at midfield. At that point, I'm like, Jeesu, this is
- 14:25Speaker 10: really bad. This is desperation because.
- 14:27Speaker 9: You're telling your team this, this game is on this play. Yeah,
- 14:30Speaker 9: and when you throw a bad pass was incomplete? What's
- 14:33Speaker 9: that team say, let's get one and done? Yep, we're done.
- 14:37Speaker 11: It was pretty obvious.
- 14:39Speaker 9: And then eleven twelve place and fifty two yards later
- 14:42Speaker 9: and ten minutes off the clock, it's over.
- 14:44Speaker 10: It is And you know that's to me, that's coaching
- 14:47Speaker 10: right there.
- 14:47Speaker 1: Well, we talk about every week on both sides.
- 14:50Speaker 9: It's amazing how many teams are coached poorly. And you go,
- 14:54Speaker 9: like hockey, it happened.
- 14:56Speaker 1: It is amazing given what these guys make. Again, I
- 15:01Speaker 1: don't care. You have to bring money up because that's
- 15:03Speaker 1: what drives everything now. And they're paid a lot of money.
- 15:08Speaker 1: And you know, I was listening to the back and
- 15:11Speaker 1: forth on James Franklin today, right and see, so I
- 15:15Speaker 1: know you never like James Franklin can't win big games.
- 15:18Speaker 1: That's his you know, he can't win big games.
- 15:20Speaker 9: Nice guys.
- 15:21Speaker 1: He's won a lot of games.
- 15:23Speaker 9: A six fifty guy, he's an eight hundred guy against
- 15:25Speaker 9: bad teams, you know, maybe even higher. Yeah, but in
- 15:29Speaker 9: his profession he's not a Division two.
- 15:32Speaker 10: Yeah. But you can't lose to the UCLA and Northwestern
- 15:35Speaker 10: like that. I mean, it's just that team's obviously quit.
- 15:39Speaker 1: Right, But in fact, once they lost that game and
- 15:42Speaker 1: gave that game up, yeah, the next two games they
- 15:45Speaker 1: were not available.
- 15:47Speaker 9: If you got guys with you, there are five star
- 15:50Speaker 9: guys for four or five years, you can't beat the
- 15:53Speaker 9: best teams. You're going to give up. Mentally, you're going
- 15:55Speaker 9: to say, hey, there's something we're not doing right because
- 15:58Speaker 9: we're not Michigan.
- 16:00Speaker 1: You're you're a Pennsylvania guy. See, who's gonna who's gonna
- 16:03Speaker 1: take that job?
- 16:04Speaker 9: What I read is I think they're gonna try. They
- 16:07Speaker 9: could possibly know Saghetti has got a lot of Pittsburgh ties.
- 16:11Speaker 9: The Indiana coach and uh, obviously Penn State is a
- 16:14Speaker 9: better job than Indiana, and Uh. I think what a
- 16:18Speaker 9: lot of people are also understanding is you just can't
- 16:21Speaker 9: go out and get the best coach available. Sometimes you
- 16:24Speaker 9: got to get someone to fit your culture, and Penn
- 16:27Speaker 9: State alums. The way they do things is a lot
- 16:30Speaker 9: different than other places. You got to take that into consideration.
- 16:33Speaker 9: And uh so I'm bet.
- 16:36Speaker 11: Matt Roll's name has been made.
- 16:39Speaker 9: And he's alumnus. So once again, is I think they're
- 16:41Speaker 9: gonna get somebody with Penn State ties?
- 16:43Speaker 11: They're gonna do?
- 16:44Speaker 9: I do?
- 16:44Speaker 7: I do?
- 16:45Speaker 9: Okay, that's my thoughts, and I have no insight. I
- 16:49Speaker 9: read all the Pittsburgh papers.
- 16:50Speaker 10: And whatever, you're Sam Pittman's available, he'd be a good
- 16:53Speaker 10: line coach.
- 16:56Speaker 9: I wanted to be my line coach. Georgia had the
- 16:59Speaker 9: best when he was there. And sometimes it's a little
- 17:02Speaker 9: bit it's remember like, uh, you know, Mike Sherman was
- 17:05Speaker 9: a good you know, it's like, what what do you do?
- 17:08Speaker 7: Well?
- 17:08Speaker 9: You know, that's what is Bob Davies. Bob Daviy wasn't
- 17:12Speaker 9: a great head coach, but boy, he's the heck of
- 17:13Speaker 9: a defensive corps.
- 17:14Speaker 10: He was a defensive coordinator, that's for sure. And Brett
- 17:17Speaker 10: Vinables was a heck of a defensive coordinator.
- 17:19Speaker 9: So well, so far, Mike Dukas proven he's the heck
- 17:22Speaker 9: of a defensive coordinator and he's heck of a coach too. Yeah,
- 17:25Speaker 9: so he's given a lot of rain probably to call
- 17:29Speaker 9: and Kleine and what like ab our client is we
- 17:32Speaker 9: can sit here. He makes some bad calls in my estimation,
- 17:36Speaker 9: but he makes a lot of good calls and good
- 17:38Speaker 9: ones outweigh.
- 17:39Speaker 10: The wak Well, it's he's obviously gotten a tight end involved,
- 17:42Speaker 10: I mean the tight ends and made a couple of
- 17:44Speaker 10: big catches over this last Saturday. And you know that
- 17:48Speaker 10: borker is that how to say it? Uh bork Borkcher.
- 17:53Speaker 10: He's a heck of a blocker too.
- 17:54Speaker 9: Hey, can you hear? The deal? Is what I could see,
- 17:56Speaker 9: and I'm not I'm football. One on one Florida started
- 18:00Speaker 9: taking away Craver and uh in the conception are paid
- 18:03Speaker 9: more attention to him? And ain't him through eight balls
- 18:05Speaker 9: to the tight ends. I mean it's like first they
- 18:08Speaker 9: were ready, they run the right routes and they delivered.
- 18:11Speaker 9: You talk about, you know, adjustments on defense. I got
- 18:14Speaker 9: to give Klein a lot of adjustments on offense, and
- 18:17Speaker 9: then they just ran the ball down their throat. It
- 18:20Speaker 9: was like they couldn't stop them.
- 18:21Speaker 1: Speaking of which bad news today with leve On Moss,
- 18:26Speaker 1: I know how deep the running back room is We've
- 18:28Speaker 1: talked about it at at Ruben Owens, that's the guy
- 18:32Speaker 1: you would want were ready to stand in because he's
- 18:35Speaker 1: been good too.
- 18:36Speaker 10: The heck of a backup.
- 18:37Speaker 1: He is a heck of a backup. There's no doubt
- 18:39Speaker 1: about it.
- 18:39Speaker 7: Okay.
- 18:40Speaker 9: The only good thing is you know, in.
- 18:42Speaker 1: My estimation Levi on Moss was playing in an All
- 18:44Speaker 1: America and Canah.
- 18:47Speaker 9: I belive that it was when he played, but I
- 18:50Speaker 9: know he has played a lot the last two weeks.
- 18:52Speaker 9: He hasn't seen that much action, and Owens has picked
- 18:56Speaker 9: it up now. They also played in Mississippi State, in
- 18:59Speaker 9: Auburn and Florida, So we'll wait and see. But I
- 19:01Speaker 9: think it goes back to is what you got an
- 19:04Speaker 9: offensive line and they're not tackling you as you hand
- 19:07Speaker 9: the ball off.
- 19:08Speaker 1: Said, we're going to get this quote right seas. I
- 19:10Speaker 1: believe he said it was the best offensive line performance
- 19:13Speaker 1: since he's been here. Saturday night, I'm pretty sure it was.
- 19:18Speaker 1: He gave the Lineman of the Game to the entire
- 19:20Speaker 1: offensive line. He said, I can't choose. They were all great.
- 19:23Speaker 9: No penalties, any kind of penalties, no tackles for loss,
- 19:27Speaker 9: no tackles for loss, no pressure's nothing. And that goes
- 19:30Speaker 9: back to is we thought that would be that kind
- 19:33Speaker 9: of line when you looked at where it's out and
- 19:35Speaker 9: we said, you know, I thought Florida had a decent
- 19:38Speaker 9: defensive line. I don't think they're not all American time,
- 19:40Speaker 9: but I thought they were decent and they couldn't couldn't mention.
- 19:44Speaker 10: At thought the second play or yeah, the first play
- 19:47Speaker 10: of the game offensively for A and M was just brilliant.
- 19:51Speaker 10: And Marcel put the air underneath there the path. He
- 19:54Speaker 10: let his receiver go get it. It was beautiful. It
- 19:57Speaker 10: was the exact thing he should have done. It's Notre dame,
- 20:00Speaker 10: which he missed twice, but he's learning right. He put
- 20:03Speaker 10: the I mean.
- 20:04Speaker 11: That ball got to have some are under it.
- 20:06Speaker 10: He took a long time to come down, but he
- 20:09Speaker 10: gave his receiver, his all star receiver a chance on that.
- 20:13Speaker 10: And you know it's like two plage drive or a touchdown
- 20:16Speaker 10: to answer Florida. That was like, wow, that's that's impressive.
- 20:19Speaker 11: It's a maturity process.
- 20:20Speaker 10: Yes, it is very impressive. He made one really bad
- 20:23Speaker 10: throw on the interception in the end zone.
- 20:24Speaker 9: That was a terrible That was that was really bad.
- 20:26Speaker 10: But I mean, that's the only really bad throw I
- 20:30Speaker 10: think he made.
- 20:31Speaker 9: He missed a guy wide open, but against the deep ball,
- 20:33Speaker 9: you can't expect to you're not gonna get He had
- 20:36Speaker 9: a guy deep that he could have another one. The
- 20:38Speaker 9: fact they got one, you get one per game. Baby.
- 20:40Speaker 9: If he hit one of those, you're in good shape.
- 20:42Speaker 9: And you're right that one throw he's gonna take back.
- 20:44Speaker 10: It was just like the answer to a Notre dame.
- 20:48Speaker 10: You know, when Crag had that that eighty four yard
- 20:51Speaker 10: touchdown pass. It was just like to answer. You know,
- 20:53Speaker 10: Florida got all that momentum. They go down the score
- 20:56Speaker 10: and like, oh here and he give him a chance here.
- 20:59Speaker 10: Well then by bang, you know, two plays later, A
- 21:01Speaker 10: and M's their answers. Right.
- 21:03Speaker 9: Well, we talked about the football games we all watch
- 21:06Speaker 9: this weekend, and it gets back to A and M
- 21:09Speaker 9: can play complimentary football. It's something we haven't seen because
- 21:12Speaker 9: someone was here. The defense fell down, you know, but
- 21:15Speaker 9: we're seeing that A and M can go and score
- 21:18Speaker 9: in three plays, or they can score in twelve plays
- 21:20Speaker 9: because they got explosive receivers. This time, for the first time,
- 21:24Speaker 9: really sits to something because I get it. Nia Smith
- 21:28Speaker 9: was good, but he didn't have enough people around him
- 21:30Speaker 9: to make it explosive. This is can be an explosive offer.
- 21:34Speaker 10: This is a golden opportunity for a m oh it is.
- 21:37Speaker 10: I mean they're playing a team that they should beat.
- 21:40Speaker 10: I know it's on the road. They go seven. Oh,
- 21:42Speaker 10: it's gonna be the first time they been seven O
- 21:43Speaker 10: sin is nineteen ninety four. Think about that. I mean
- 21:46Speaker 10: it's a long time.
- 21:48Speaker 11: It's a long time.
- 21:49Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 21:50Speaker 11: My Richardson hide Mass says thirty one years.
- 21:52Speaker 9: Yeah, so that's my Pennsylvania Hill bill league must must be.
- 21:56Speaker 10: Right my saying he's the state math. I can't. I'm
- 22:00Speaker 10: not that quick yet. So give me, give me the
- 22:03Speaker 10: next break and I'll down. I got my calculor ciphering.
- 22:07Speaker 10: Yeah no, but I mean nineteen ninety four, that was
- 22:10Speaker 10: a long time ago, and that was a you know
- 22:12Speaker 10: those RC's teams and again as the Southwest Conference. But
- 22:16Speaker 10: that's what someone did. He'd get him six and zero,
- 22:19Speaker 10: did that a couple times, but he never could get
- 22:21Speaker 10: it past that. So I think it's a golden opportunity
- 22:25Speaker 10: for them to kind of move past.
- 22:26Speaker 1: It's a golden opportunity in a year where there still
- 22:29Speaker 1: doesn't appear to be a great team in this league.
- 22:35Speaker 11: Maybe that great team's A and M.
- 22:36Speaker 10: I don't think there's a great team in the country.
- 22:38Speaker 1: Well, I think you might be right about that.
- 22:41Speaker 10: And I know you can't do this, but I'm like,
- 22:44Speaker 10: it's in the fan in he goes, Okay, Well, Texas
- 22:47Speaker 10: went to Ohio State. They lost by touchdown. Texas offense,
- 22:50Speaker 10: I'm not that high on that offensive line is really
- 22:52Speaker 10: really bad. I mean, I think A and M could
- 22:54Speaker 10: play with anybody in the country this year, and I
- 22:57Speaker 10: haven't been able. I wouldn't say that last year. I
- 22:59Speaker 10: wouldn't that in a lot most years. But I was like,
- 23:02Speaker 10: I wouldn't have said that any other year except for
- 23:04Speaker 10: twenty twelve. You know, at the end of the year,
- 23:07Speaker 10: I thought A and M could play with any butt,
- 23:09Speaker 10: no doubt. But right now, and again, it's not so
- 23:12Speaker 10: much about am M being so dominant. It's about, Okay,
- 23:15Speaker 10: they want a parody and they have got the NFL
- 23:19Speaker 10: at college level.
- 23:20Speaker 9: Yes, here's the deal. It's in today.
- 23:23Speaker 1: The closest points spread in SEC games I read today.
- 23:27Speaker 1: I mean now, it went back about ten or twelve years,
- 23:30Speaker 1: but it's not even close ten The average is ten
- 23:33Speaker 1: points per game, which is the closest spread conference games
- 23:37Speaker 1: have been been in a long time.
- 23:39Speaker 10: Okay, and all those get I'm sorry, it's this good.
- 23:42Speaker 9: Elko hit on this in his press conference today, saying,
- 23:45Speaker 9: let's wait to see it plays out. Who's good and
- 23:47Speaker 9: who's getting back to your ninety four deal. I really
- 23:51Speaker 9: like this A and M team, but they only beat
- 23:53Speaker 9: one ranked team. They won't played one ranked team. Now,
- 23:56Speaker 9: some of those teams might prove to be better as
- 23:58Speaker 9: they get it go on, they take you got to
- 24:00Speaker 9: get take care of business, which A and M has done.
- 24:03Speaker 9: But I'm really pointing towards that LSU game because we
- 24:06Speaker 9: know LSU will be right no matter what happens this
- 24:09Speaker 9: week A and M has a rough time winn baton Rouge.
- 24:12Speaker 9: That'll be like one of my cement games.
- 24:15Speaker 10: Yeah, I could see that. Yeah, I mean I agree
- 24:19Speaker 10: with that. However, I saw Florida did to Texas the
- 24:22Speaker 10: week before, and Texas was the ranked team. Texas is
- 24:26Speaker 10: a ranked team. Again, Texas did MANHANDLEDOU, and again I
- 24:32Speaker 10: think the parody is what this is, and that's what
- 24:37Speaker 10: they wanted when they when they set this thing all
- 24:40Speaker 10: up and the.
- 24:41Speaker 9: Transfer portals really helped it too. You look at all
- 24:43Speaker 9: the transfers to everybody plays well.
- 24:45Speaker 10: And look at all the games. I mean, the games
- 24:47Speaker 10: were closer than a lot last week. I mean I
- 24:49Speaker 10: was like, yeah, Georgia scored late to cover, but that
- 24:52Speaker 10: game was one score game for the most part. And
- 24:55Speaker 10: then you know the so many of those. Arkansas Tennessee
- 24:59Speaker 10: was the one score game, and and.
- 25:01Speaker 9: I didn't see that game. I just kept seeing the
- 25:02Speaker 9: score and I go, wow, that's and then I saw
- 25:04Speaker 9: him like a ten to fourteen did I look at
- 25:06Speaker 9: it was three points at the end, and I go, wow,
- 25:08Speaker 9: you you lose by three on the road in your.
- 25:11Speaker 10: I know because I pick against the spread on another pole.
- 25:14Speaker 10: And I'm absolutely I'm not horrible both of y'all competitions.
- 25:18Speaker 10: But uh yeah, yeah, my gosh, talking about parody.
- 25:22Speaker 9: Parody in the Hollypool.
- 25:24Speaker 11: Game worst ever, it's terrible.
- 25:26Speaker 9: Yeah, it's it's the beauty of what's and when you're
- 25:28Speaker 9: were A and MS right now, when you're one of
- 25:30Speaker 9: the teams of.
- 25:30Speaker 10: Something beating I'm trying to go back in you know,
- 25:33Speaker 10: Max preps. I'm reading all this high school stuff these
- 25:37Speaker 10: like I haven't called I followed high school football, like
- 25:40Speaker 10: since I was in Galves.
- 25:41Speaker 9: There you go. But you know when you're one of those.
- 25:45Speaker 10: Like I didn't know who bb g O was.
- 25:47Speaker 9: I looked this up Brass Valley Home Education.
- 25:51Speaker 10: Okay, okay, yeah, well they won big and I didn't
- 25:55Speaker 10: know them.

- 26:28Speaker 11: That's not this story.
- 26:30Speaker 1: This story is the only NFL year spent in Dallas.
- 26:37Speaker 11: They were called the Texans.
- 26:39Speaker 1: They were horrible. It was a mess. The NFL was horrible.
- 26:45Speaker 1: Every team was losing money. They couldn't get anything but dumb,
- 26:50Speaker 1: really dumb, rich guys to invest in an NFL franchise
- 26:53Speaker 1: back then. Now they got a lot richer dumb guys
- 26:56Speaker 1: investing in the NFL, but they're making billions. I did
- 27:01Speaker 1: not know this story. It is phenomenal. I'll give you

- 27:21Speaker 1: Because the next year they moved back to Baltimore as

- 31:42Speaker 1: Hey, we are rob Listen to Paul Simon today, Roni
- 31:46Speaker 1: Simon turns eighty four years young.
- 31:49Speaker 7: Wow.
- 31:49Speaker 1: This portion of the Writers Roundtable, that's the Writers Roundtable
- 31:53Speaker 1: in English, has brought to you my first financial bank
- 31:56Speaker 1: and in tech. Robert Sessa is here, Rusty Berson is here.
- 32:02Speaker 1: I do like Elko every week listening to him talk
- 32:06Speaker 1: about the opponents.
- 32:09Speaker 10: I was disappointed to hear that he didn't have anything
- 32:11Speaker 10: to lead those No, you know, sorry about Revelle. No Hey,
- 32:15Speaker 10: congratulations volleyball team.
- 32:16Speaker 11: I guess, I guess. The the pr staff.
- 32:19Speaker 10: Were busy a lot of stuff, so I thought.
- 32:23Speaker 11: Maybe maybe I don't know, he didn't say anything about that.
- 32:27Speaker 9: I don't know if they celebrate that in New Jersey.
- 32:31Speaker 17: Indigenous People's Day, right or something like that. Whatever, we're working, yeah,
- 32:38Speaker 17: if you want to call it work. But let's talk
- 32:42Speaker 17: about the Arkansas game a little bit. It's a long history,
- 32:46Speaker 17: a long recent history of adem just dominating this series.
- 32:51Speaker 10: It's time to get back at Bobby Petrino.
- 32:53Speaker 1: Well, listen to Patrino a little bit today. He met
- 32:56Speaker 1: with the Arkansas media today and we'll probably hear here
- 32:59Speaker 1: so with that tomorrow, you know.
- 33:03Speaker 10: And he owned A and M when he was a
- 33:06Speaker 10: dark soul, did Yeah? Owned him?
- 33:09Speaker 9: Yeah, yeah, straight great. He is a great play callers.
- 33:13Speaker 11: He had better players most of.
- 33:15Speaker 10: Time he did. But he owned Mike Sherman. I mean,
- 33:19Speaker 10: Sherman couldn't beat him if they played him eleven times because.
- 33:23Speaker 1: He played a college football game. Was the pro Yeah yeah,
- 33:28Speaker 1: he was kicking field goals, not scoring touchdowns.
- 33:31Speaker 9: And I really like coach Sherman, by the way, lost
- 33:34Speaker 9: on in a pro field too. But the Sun when
- 33:36Speaker 9: they played Arkansas a couple of times.
- 33:38Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, it's bad.
- 33:39Speaker 10: It was bad.
- 33:41Speaker 11: Uh, it will be interesting.
- 33:43Speaker 1: He has an offense they can score the ball.
- 33:46Speaker 10: Ye, good quarterback. Yeah.
- 33:48Speaker 9: And who's Taylor Green?
- 33:52Speaker 1: Yeah? Yeah, Taylor Green. But I guess c J. Carr,
- 33:56Speaker 1: the freshman is the best quarterback. A and M need
- 34:00Speaker 1: so far, right?
- 34:05Speaker 9: It was DJ DJ Langway for one quarter Yeah, but
- 34:09Speaker 9: for a whole uh game, I would say Car. Car
- 34:13Speaker 9: was more consistent. And I thought, actually, if Notre Dame
- 34:16Speaker 9: would have ran the ball more, he'd have been more effective.
- 34:18Speaker 9: I didn't think Freeman called a good game. I thought
- 34:21Speaker 9: A and M I coached him in that game. I
- 34:24Speaker 9: thought Notre Dame had a lot of talent they didn't
- 34:26Speaker 9: use in that game. But getting back to here, answer
- 34:29Speaker 9: your question, I think it is Car. And you know,
- 34:31Speaker 9: remember last year greening through a couple of interceptions. The
- 34:35Speaker 9: pressure really got to him last year, and I think
- 34:38Speaker 9: it'll do that way again. Okay, And you know I
- 34:42Speaker 9: asked Alco. He said all the right things about how
- 34:44Speaker 9: he is improved, that he is improved. You know, you
- 34:46Speaker 9: think this is his third year to be a starter.
- 34:48Speaker 9: You're gonna learn things. He is very mobile. But A
- 34:52Speaker 9: and M's I love their lines. kJ Jefferson like he's
- 34:55Speaker 9: a large man. I love their linebackers now that Sandford
- 34:59Speaker 9: has has stepped up. Adam is really three really good linebackers.
- 35:03Speaker 9: They do and it's a long game and you can
- 35:05Speaker 9: get banged up a little bit.
- 35:06Speaker 1: Train I was talking about that today, by the way.
- 35:09Speaker 9: And the fact that Aden was so getting back to
- 35:12Speaker 9: and I can't emphasize enough because I ripped them so
- 35:14Speaker 9: many years. But they tackle well. You see a lot
- 35:18Speaker 9: of guys tackling one on one. They get the help,
- 35:21Speaker 9: you just don't see the broken tackle. Then the guy
- 35:24Speaker 9: gets twenty yards.
- 35:25Speaker 10: You're right.
- 35:26Speaker 9: I mean we used to see so much of that
- 35:28Speaker 9: and you could just feel the fans go hug defenses.
- 35:33Speaker 10: I mean, you got to play together, right, you know,
- 35:35Speaker 10: and we'll see a huge difference because Arksas is the
- 35:38Speaker 10: worst scoring defense in the SEC. They give up more
- 35:41Speaker 10: points than anybody and they don't tackle well. And you know,
- 35:45Speaker 10: I thought Notre Dame just they was they gave him
- 35:49Speaker 10: a little bit early like Arkstas scored early, but then
- 35:52Speaker 10: Notre Dame just pounded them, I mean into submission at home.
- 35:55Speaker 9: And I think.
- 35:56Speaker 10: Based on again watching that game, I know every game
- 36:00Speaker 10: is different, but I think A and M's got a
- 36:02Speaker 10: great chance to go in there and just you know,
- 36:04Speaker 10: pound away and wear them down like they have the
- 36:07Speaker 10: last two opponents.
- 36:08Speaker 9: I watched that game as well for a while. And
- 36:11Speaker 9: the fact that Notre Dame used all its weapons. They
- 36:15Speaker 9: used car his legs, they used the wide receivers that
- 36:18Speaker 9: they lose love and the other good run. Now, well
- 36:21Speaker 9: Adam's gonna those same weapons, yep. And the fact is
- 36:24Speaker 9: if this Arkansas defense on paper and in games has
- 36:29Speaker 9: been so bad, I don't think they're good enough to
- 36:32Speaker 9: take anything away from A and M. Man, and I
- 36:34Speaker 9: think you've got to be able to do that if
- 36:36Speaker 9: you want of a chance.
- 36:37Speaker 1: How good are the chances that Notre Dame will be
- 36:39Speaker 1: the best team A and M plays all season?
- 36:41Speaker 9: Well, I think they're playing with a sense of urgency.
- 36:45Speaker 9: You watch what they do.
- 36:46Speaker 10: I think that depends on if A and M gets
- 36:48Speaker 10: to Atlanta or not, and then maybe we'll see I mean,
- 36:51Speaker 10: because I think if A and M gets to Atlanta,
- 36:53Speaker 10: then maybe you face a team that is as good
- 36:56Speaker 10: or better.
- 36:58Speaker 9: Playing at that time. Right yeah, Alabama's getting better, and
- 37:01Speaker 9: right now they are. I might pick Alabama to be opposites,
- 37:05Speaker 9: all right.
- 37:05Speaker 10: They got a quarterback.
- 37:07Speaker 1: Yeah, I know, and keep reminding you that game, and
- 37:10Speaker 1: they've got a lot of talented players.
- 37:13Speaker 10: Just they don't think Alabama's going to lose another game though,
- 37:16Speaker 10: looking at that schedule, they're not gonna lose to Auburn Tennessee.
- 37:21Speaker 10: I seriously doubt they will lose Tennessee. We'll see, but
- 37:25Speaker 10: I think Alabama is solid. Notre Dame, though, they may
- 37:29Speaker 10: be the best team at the end of the year.
- 37:32Speaker 10: I don't. Well, you know that A and M has
- 37:34Speaker 10: faced Yeah, yeah, yeah, they're doing.
- 37:36Speaker 9: They're doing A and M in favor every week. Every
- 37:38Speaker 9: week they win blowout. No doubt they're good and uh
- 37:41Speaker 9: they actually I don't know if USC is back in
- 37:44Speaker 9: the rankings, but they're for the longest time. It looks
- 37:46Speaker 9: like they wouldn't play a ranked team, But Notre Dame's
- 37:48Speaker 9: going to play a ranked team, which they really need
- 37:51Speaker 9: to play a ranked team to help them out. There
- 37:52Speaker 9: might be a lot of ten and twos when it's
- 37:54Speaker 9: all said now, we don't know, but this could be
- 37:56Speaker 9: a big game for Notre Dame too.
- 37:58Speaker 10: Yeah, I think so, you know, I mean, so many
- 38:01Speaker 10: teams are very one dimensional. Like I said earlier, I
- 38:03Speaker 10: think Missouri. They lead the SEC in rushing yards and
- 38:08Speaker 10: put there. They can't throw the football and I don't
- 38:10Speaker 10: think LSU could throw football very well, and.
- 38:13Speaker 9: Which is surprised.
- 38:14Speaker 10: It is surprising. I thought that guy might be the
- 38:18Speaker 10: All SEC quarterback and he's just been very, very disappointed.
- 38:22Speaker 9: I liked him last year when Aam got to him,
- 38:25Speaker 9: you know, he was at really good first half and
- 38:26Speaker 9: I go, man, this this uh, this guy's great. And
- 38:29Speaker 9: then A and M's defense gut Tom in the second half.
- 38:33Speaker 9: He he was did not look good at all, but
- 38:36Speaker 9: has a defense the way Elko calls it, that can
- 38:39Speaker 9: really did your confidence.
- 38:42Speaker 10: Yeah, in week to week, I want to see what
- 38:43Speaker 10: Texas does, you know, I mean, uh, they they manhaddled Oklahoma.
- 38:49Speaker 10: I mean that took care of business.
- 38:52Speaker 1: That just they proved to me that Oklahoma was not
- 38:55Speaker 1: as good as I've said all along. I just was
- 38:57Speaker 1: not impressed with them. They speaking of not running the football,
- 39:02Speaker 1: they cannot run the football. Texas finally ran the football
- 39:06Speaker 1: with Weisner back right, and so they were able to
- 39:10Speaker 1: run the ball a little bit and that was really
- 39:13Speaker 1: the difference.
- 39:13Speaker 10: And that's why I thought it was really impressive. What
- 39:16Speaker 10: A and M's offensive line. Did the Florida versus what
- 39:20Speaker 10: Florida did the Texas' offensive line?
- 39:23Speaker 11: Yes?
- 39:23Speaker 10: And the week before Yes, Florida manhandled Tech.
- 39:26Speaker 11: They did.
- 39:27Speaker 10: Yeah, And I thought, you know the defensive line that
- 39:30Speaker 10: A and M. You know, So when Elko was talking
- 39:32Speaker 10: about how good his offensive line was, I was thinking,
- 39:35Speaker 10: it's probably a pretty darn good defensive line that I
- 39:38Speaker 10: saw play against Texas.
- 39:40Speaker 1: Yes, yeah, yeah, all right, we're going to take a break.

- 40:29Speaker 4: leads the league in yards per game with over four
- 40:31Speaker 4: hundred and third in passing yards. Dak Prescott spoke this
- 40:35Speaker 4: week on the impact offensive coordinator Clayton Adams has had
- 40:38Speaker 4: on the team.
- 40:39Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 40:40Speaker 19: Huge, mean, he's the OC for one, but I mean
- 40:43Speaker 19: just the way that he h the way that he
- 40:45Speaker 19: installs plays when he stands in front of the team,
- 40:48Speaker 19: the confidence that he shows that he portrays he exudes,
- 40:52Speaker 19: and just the professional LISLM I guess that he expects
- 40:59Speaker 19: is contained and everybody fills it. And he's a hell
- 41:02Speaker 19: of a dude. I mean, I feel like as much
- 41:04Speaker 19: as anything, obviously the plays and all that he's installed working,
- 41:07Speaker 19: it's a little bit of his personality that this offense
- 41:09Speaker 19: has taken taken from him and moving forward each and
- 41:12Speaker 19: every game of just going to get it done at
- 41:14Speaker 19: all calls, whatever it takes.

- 43:48Speaker 1: to Grace Lands. Thanks for being with us on a Monday.
- 43:54Speaker 1: Robert Sesna is here. Rusty Burston is here. We have
- 43:59Speaker 1: said that we're not sure about the eliteness or greatness
- 44:04Speaker 1: of teams in this league. We didn't talk a lot
- 44:08Speaker 1: about outside the league. I am stunned, shocked, amazed what
- 44:16Speaker 1: Indiana did to Oregon at Auxin Stadium this last week.
- 44:20Speaker 9: I think we talked I made o m G. I
- 44:23Speaker 9: think we talked about this before. I forget what too.
- 44:26Speaker 9: It's also the physicality. It's so one thing for a
- 44:28Speaker 9: team to win, but they would do it with physicality,
- 44:32Speaker 9: and they went in there and you could tell the quotes.
- 44:35Speaker 9: They just man handled Oregon, you know what.
- 44:37Speaker 1: They did the same thing to Illinois, which is prided
- 44:40Speaker 1: himself and the same thing.
- 44:41Speaker 9: Yeah, it's like that gets your attention because we see
- 44:44Speaker 9: what physicality do is do it here?
- 44:46Speaker 11: They have my attention.
- 44:47Speaker 10: Yeah, they did mine too because they jumped in them.
- 44:50Speaker 10: I mean, they they've got my attention. Yeah. I wasn't
- 44:54Speaker 10: believing until I mean, obviously they made the playoff last
- 44:56Speaker 10: year and I thought that's a joke. Sure it's a yeah,
- 45:01Speaker 10: but yeah, this team is for real.
- 45:03Speaker 9: But you look how EASi their schedule is too.
- 45:06Speaker 10: I know, but they just took down Oregon and the.
- 45:09Speaker 9: Rest of the way they're they're almost in the playoff.
- 45:11Speaker 9: When you because that's the beauty.
- 45:14Speaker 10: Is well at this point, you're you're you've got a
- 45:16Speaker 10: real good idea. Now anything can happen. I mean, it's
- 45:21Speaker 10: you're all halfway through the season. But I mean, Texas
- 45:24Speaker 10: Tech looked like a lock, right, I mean, I can't
- 45:27Speaker 10: see anybody beating them, and if they did, they're not
- 45:30Speaker 10: gonna beat him twice, right, not not with their schedule well,
- 45:34Speaker 10: the big team, and I.
- 45:35Speaker 1: Think they get Arizona State without love it. I don't
- 45:37Speaker 1: know how love it's out right, we saw what Arizona
- 45:40Speaker 1: State's like without their quarterback.
- 45:42Speaker 11: That's last week.
- 45:42Speaker 9: And then the Big Ten has done this where suddenly
- 45:46Speaker 9: with Penn State not reveling anymore, they can have three
- 45:49Speaker 9: good teams that don't really play a lot of teams.
- 45:51Speaker 9: When you've got Ohio State and you've got Oregon and
- 45:54Speaker 9: you've got Indiana, they might they might only lose you know,
- 45:59Speaker 9: one or two games combined those those teams. The way
- 46:01Speaker 9: the schedule is.
- 46:02Speaker 10: It's just what shot me chip is them going into Oregon?
- 46:06Speaker 10: I mean it'd be one.
- 46:07Speaker 11: Really hard place to Yeah, it's one thing if.
- 46:10Speaker 10: You're going to do that home, but to go to
- 46:12Speaker 10: Oregon like.
- 46:14Speaker 9: It was no officials call or no university or turnover.
- 46:17Speaker 9: They were the best team.
- 46:19Speaker 10: Yeah, I mean they they play u c l A.
- 46:22Speaker 10: They you know u c l A. Seems like they've
- 46:24Speaker 10: turned it around.
- 46:25Speaker 9: But then going back to what you said, then I
- 46:26Speaker 9: read somebody's columnst goes, well, now, how good was Penn State?
- 46:30Speaker 9: Because remember Oregon, they showed who they were by going
- 46:34Speaker 9: to Penn State and be physical and win.
- 46:36Speaker 1: Then yeah, I just and I was kind of like
- 46:38Speaker 1: Rusty said earlier, I can't do that. Wait, wait you
- 46:41Speaker 1: compare what happened that night with him? Yeah, right, that
- 46:45Speaker 1: was Penn State's game of the year with that wide
- 46:48Speaker 1: out at night. I still say that was a really
- 46:51Speaker 1: quality win. Sure at a horrible quality lost by James Franklin, but.
- 46:55Speaker 9: Still you look at it because then you go like,
- 46:57Speaker 9: where where where's it gonna? How does the commuit do
- 47:00Speaker 9: you grade that? You know that because they don't know
- 47:02Speaker 9: what the committee does.
- 47:02Speaker 11: Period.
- 47:03Speaker 9: When you have these grading systems, how does that work?
- 47:06Speaker 7: Yeah?
- 47:06Speaker 11: I don't understand that well.
- 47:09Speaker 10: And you you know, you just started doing that week
- 47:11Speaker 10: to week thing and you're like, well, Florida State started
- 47:14Speaker 10: the year off of beating Alabama, right and then that so.
- 47:17Speaker 1: I looked really good doing it.
- 47:19Speaker 10: That got everybody attention. And then you know that then
- 47:22Speaker 10: they lose to Miami and they lose to Pitt and
- 47:25Speaker 10: I mean it's just like, you know, it's like these
- 47:28Speaker 10: teams when they lose a game, they just un Yeah, and.
- 47:31Speaker 9: You feel if Alabama would play Florida State tomorrow.
- 47:35Speaker 10: Who yeah, I mean Alabama destroy them probably.
- 47:39Speaker 9: I'm with you guys at how like Penn State's crater
- 47:42Speaker 9: these teams do this? Does nil play into.
- 47:44Speaker 10: That these guys, It's a good question these guys saying.
- 47:47Speaker 9: Like, well, we can't go to college football playoff. I'm
- 47:49Speaker 9: not gonna I got my money. I'm just gonna go.
- 47:52Speaker 9: Don't worry about it, right, I mean, I don't know.
- 47:54Speaker 9: I mean, it's as we moved forward for a few years.
- 47:57Speaker 11: What does show this show to me season?
- 47:59Speaker 1: I don't know this, but if it's an underclassman and
- 48:03Speaker 1: he checks out, I'm not gonna take that guy. I
- 48:06Speaker 1: don't care how good he was on the field.
- 48:08Speaker 11: No, that's what I'm saying.
- 48:09Speaker 1: If I'm looking for a portal guy, if this kid
- 48:12Speaker 1: has flaked out mid season, going eight, I got mine,
- 48:16Speaker 1: season's over, I'm out.
- 48:18Speaker 11: Why would you turn around and.
- 48:20Speaker 1: Pay him two million dollars? I mean, I'm not saying
- 48:22Speaker 1: they're not stupid people to do it.
- 48:25Speaker 9: That's why I look, when you look at this a
- 48:27Speaker 9: and of team that transfers Elko brought in, they're really
- 48:31Speaker 9: paying dividend, no doubt. I mean when you look at
- 48:33Speaker 9: the defensive one, they're very careful too. And obviously you're
- 48:36Speaker 9: making good choices. Yes, it's just like a G like
- 48:39Speaker 9: you said, it's your GM in football, Yes, NFL, how
- 48:43Speaker 9: do you spend your money? You know, if a guy
- 48:45Speaker 9: comes in, like he's got guys in the D line
- 48:47Speaker 9: that are playing like twenty five snaps, but they're quality snaps.
- 48:52Speaker 9: That's hard to get into portal.
- 48:53Speaker 10: I'm sure you know. And no one's paying attention to
- 48:56Speaker 10: this team at all, but watch out for Georgia Tech.
- 49:00Speaker 10: They're six and oh okay, they don't play anybody, so
- 49:02Speaker 10: thank you.
- 49:03Speaker 1: Haines King's still in my heigh school watch list.
- 49:05Speaker 10: He's He's warrior.
- 49:06Speaker 1: Is the most underrated QB in America.
- 49:10Speaker 9: Okay, I vote, and every week I asked myself, why
- 49:13Speaker 9: is Georgia Tech as low as they are? Because I
- 49:16Speaker 9: think that you know, they have they beat every team now,
- 49:20Speaker 9: I know, they.
- 49:20Speaker 10: Beat Wake Forest by two points in overtime, I mean
- 49:23Speaker 10: or one point, I guess, and over time, you know,
- 49:26Speaker 10: I mean they're they're living on the edge, just for
- 49:28Speaker 10: six and oh yeah, and Haines King's been solid, you know.
- 49:33Speaker 9: Like everybody expects them to lose and just strike drop
- 49:35Speaker 9: down the twentieth. Whereas Vanderbilt lose lost because it was Alabama.
- 49:39Speaker 1: They didn't fall for Vanderbilt hosting l s U on
- 49:42Speaker 1: on Saturday night.
- 49:44Speaker 10: Georgia Tech didn't play Miami. They played Georgia at the
- 49:47Speaker 10: end of the year. But other than that, man, they
- 49:49Speaker 10: got a very manageable schedule.
- 49:51Speaker 9: I think they could beat Georgia.
- 49:52Speaker 11: They can be Georgia. They almost last year.
- 49:55Speaker 1: Should have took like eight overtimes, right, yeah, or whatever.
- 49:59Speaker 10: I mean they played Duke Syracuse, North Carolina State, Boston College,
- 50:04Speaker 10: Pitt and Georgie.
- 50:05Speaker 1: I'll take that schedule. I will too, Yeah, yeah.
- 50:08Speaker 11: I'll take it.
- 50:08Speaker 10: They've already beaten Clemson.
- 50:10Speaker 9: Right, So, I mean, I forget which league they're in,
- 50:13Speaker 9: the A c C, you know which, which division?
- 50:16Speaker 1: You know, it doesn't matter, it doesn't matter not Miami
- 50:19Speaker 1: SMU is playing at Clemson. Okay, Yeah, SMU has the
- 50:23Speaker 1: longest acc winds string eighteen games straight conference wins.
- 50:28Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 50:28Speaker 9: They no divisions, no divisions, talk talk to two is play. Okay,
- 50:36Speaker 9: Let's say Georgia Tech goes twelve and Ozero beats Georgia
- 50:40Speaker 9: place Miami lose Miami, They've got to be the college
- 50:43Speaker 9: Football playoff for two one.
- 50:44Speaker 1: I would think so if they get for the championship
- 50:47Speaker 1: game undefeated and lose to Miami. And if Miami's there,
- 50:50Speaker 1: they could be undefeated, ranked second or first or third.
- 50:54Speaker 9: But ten and two they might not get there because
- 50:56Speaker 9: they lost. This would be to Miami and to Georgia.
- 50:59Speaker 9: Then they probably don't go. Could be interesting, could be
- 51:03Speaker 9: it's a good thing about radio. You just what what
- 51:06Speaker 9: what could be.
- 51:07Speaker 10: Like in Miami plays at SMU in a couple.
- 51:10Speaker 1: Of yes they do and if s ME beats Clemson, yeah,
- 51:14Speaker 1: I tell you a pony nation and be coming out.
- 51:15Speaker 11: For that one.
- 51:17Speaker 1: Ole Miss Georgia is a fascinating game to me, especially
- 51:21Speaker 1: given what Ole Miss did this last.
- 51:23Speaker 11: We didn't or didn't do.
- 51:24Speaker 9: Yeah, uh's that game at Georgia.
- 51:27Speaker 11: It's a Georgia.
- 51:28Speaker 9: But I have to go with Georgia on home.
- 51:30Speaker 1: I mean they lost to Hey, what's the spread on
- 51:34Speaker 1: A and m Arkansas.
- 51:35Speaker 9: Seven and a half last night? When I looked, okay,
- 51:38Speaker 9: you can look again it, Yeah, they probably get your
- 51:41Speaker 9: bet in.
- 51:42Speaker 1: They haven't gotten my bet in yet. Now with the
- 51:44Speaker 1: line for sure, m seven and a half still, I
- 51:47Speaker 1: can get that down to six and a half really easy.
- 51:49Speaker 9: Tried to get a quarter and they go you mean
- 51:50Speaker 9: twenty five, just a quarter.
- 51:56Speaker 10: How about Nebraska celebrating. They're on their social media. They
- 52:00Speaker 10: were all over social media yesterday because they're back in
- 52:03Speaker 10: the top twenty five for.
- 52:04Speaker 9: The program and no way ages.
- 52:06Speaker 11: Yeah they're twenty fifth.
- 52:07Speaker 1: They as a as a reward for being back in
- 52:13Speaker 1: the top twenty five, they get to go to Minnesota
- 52:16Speaker 1: and play Friday Night this week.
- 52:18Speaker 9: Could that be that they finally got internet into Nebraska.
- 52:21Speaker 9: That's where they were excited and they knew how to
- 52:24Speaker 9: use it.
- 52:24Speaker 10: They finally got social media out there. Yeah, now there's
- 52:27Speaker 10: some nice steaks Nebraska.
- 52:29Speaker 9: Oh, yes, there is like that.
- 52:30Speaker 1: If Signetty doesn't take the Penn State job, Matt Rule
- 52:35Speaker 1: might and.
- 52:36Speaker 9: Matt Role was not a little bit vague about it.
- 52:39Speaker 9: He sounded like he probably pretty vage.
- 52:41Speaker 11: Yeah, pretty vague.
- 52:42Speaker 1: Talked about how much he loved his alma mater, the
- 52:44Speaker 1: people there, and but I'm happy here. I'm happy here
- 52:47Speaker 1: that there's a great place. We're still building this beast,
- 52:50Speaker 1: he said. We hadn't seen the beast mode yet. Matt,
- 52:54Speaker 1: You're gonna have to do a little bit better if
- 52:56Speaker 1: you're going to call it a beast.
- 52:59Speaker 9: Penn State says for him, to sign he signed.
- 53:01Speaker 1: I will say that Louisville and Miami is the kind
- 53:03Speaker 1: of game, by the way, that's also a Friday night game.
- 53:08Speaker 1: That's the kind of game that Mario Cristobaul would lose.
- 53:12Speaker 9: I thought about Louisville's like five and one or four
- 53:16Speaker 9: and one there.
- 53:16Speaker 10: So my wife's actually listened to the radio show today.
- 53:18Speaker 11: Oh no, that would have been better.
- 53:22Speaker 1: Sorry, first time in.
- 53:24Speaker 10: A decade that Nebraska has been ranked so in a decade. Yeah, wow.
- 53:29Speaker 11: Never should have left the Big twelve.
- 53:32Speaker 10: They should not have.
- 53:33Speaker 1: They should they should have should not have war a
- 53:36Speaker 1: Big twelve. No, that is so truthful.
- 53:39Speaker 9: They left because they were mad at Texas and sometimes
- 53:42Speaker 9: don't cut your nose off. They should have stayed where
- 53:44Speaker 9: they were at and good.
- 53:47Speaker 11: Yeah it's still really good.
- 53:48Speaker 1: But they kept firing coaches because the only loss of
- 53:51Speaker 1: the season was to Texas, and they kept firing coaches
- 53:54Speaker 1: until they finally promoted downward.
- 53:56Speaker 11: Yeah, that's been like that for about fifteen years now.
- 53:59Speaker 10: They had a long run. I'm a bad coach.
- 54:00Speaker 11: Oh my gosh.
- 54:01Speaker 1: If they ever and I like Matt Rule, you know,
- 54:04Speaker 1: I think I think Matt Rule is a pretty good coach.
- 54:06Speaker 10: I think was going to be a good coach.
- 54:09Speaker 9: Are one of your legends?
- 54:13Speaker 1: He's up against it up there. I believe you know.
- 54:16Speaker 1: I just you know their kids have grown up? How
- 54:20Speaker 1: long a decade since I've been in the top twenty five?
- 54:23Speaker 1: I mean they were recruited kids that that don't know
- 54:25Speaker 1: anything about Nebraska being good ever?
- 54:28Speaker 9: Right, the black Shirts don't matter.
- 54:30Speaker 11: They don't.
- 54:31Speaker 1: Nobody knows who that you go by correct, developing walk on.
- 54:35Speaker 11: Nobody knows who that is.
- 54:37Speaker 1: So all right, So none of this has helped me
- 54:41Speaker 1: pick your games this week.
- 54:42Speaker 11: See, so I'll tell you that right now.
- 54:44Speaker 9: Usually, Uh, you got a coin?
