Transcript
- 0:02Welcome to Bible Chat, where we have devotional conversations
- 0:06rooted in Scripture and relevant for today, March 22nd.
- 0:11Wisdom that wins. Not every victory is loud.
- 0:15Some of the most important wins in life happened quietly,
- 0:18through steady choices, disciplined habits, and wisdom
- 0:22that does not need attention to prove its value.
- 0:25In a world that often celebrates, whoever speaks the
- 0:27most reacts the fastest or shows off the loudest.
- 0:31God reminds us that real strength is often quieter than
- 0:34that. Real strength can look like
- 0:37restraint. It can look like diligence.
- 0:40It can look like showing up faithfully when no one is
- 0:42watching. Proverbs chapter 12, verses 23
- 0:46to 24 says a prudent man conceals knowledge, but the
- 0:50heart of fools proclaims folly. The hand of the diligent will
- 0:54rule, while the slack hand will be put to forced labor.
- 0:58That means wisdom is not about showing off what you know.
- 1:01It is about knowing how to use what you know.
- 1:04And diligence is not just working hard once in a while.
- 1:08It is choosing consistency, responsibility, and faithfulness
- 1:12over laziness and distraction. Then Judges chapter 3, verse 9
- 1:16says, And the Lord raised up judges who saved them out of the
- 1:20hand of those who plundered them.
- 1:22God used ordinary people in powerful ways.
- 1:26They were not all impressive by human standards, and they were
- 1:29certainly not perfect, but God raised them up at the right time
- 1:33to bring deliverance. That is encouraging because it
- 1:36reminds us that God can use willing hearts.
- 1:39He can use people who are ready to act, ready to trust Him, and
- 1:42ready to stay faithful. Maybe you have been
- 1:45underestimating the power of small, obedient choices,
- 1:49Studying when you do not feel like it, Staying humble instead
- 1:52of showing off, Being responsible with what you have
- 1:55been given. Keeping your word, Being
- 1:58diligent in prayer. These things may seem ordinary,
- 2:01but they are the kind of habits God builds into strength.
- 2:04Wisdom wins because it sees beyond the moment.
- 2:08Diligence wins because it keeps going when others quit.
- 2:11And when both are placed in God's hands, He can use them to
- 2:14open doors, strengthen character, and bring help to
- 2:18others through your life. You do not need to be flashy to
- 2:21be useful. You do not need to know
- 2:23everything to be wise. You just need a heart that
- 2:26listens to God and a life that keeps showing up faithfully.
- 2:29Let's pray. Heavenly Father, thank you for
- 2:33showing me that wisdom and diligence matter more than
- 2:35appearances. Help me to be steady, humble,
- 2:39and faithful in the things You have placed before me.
- 2:42Teach me to use what I know with wisdom and to work with
- 2:45consistency and purpose. Raise me up in the ways You
- 2:48choose and use my life to bring help, strength and hope to
- 2:51others in Jesus name, Amen. What if the most important
- 2:57question in your life deserves more than a shallow answer?

- 4:16Now I invite you to spend time with God in today's three-year
- 4:19Bible reading plan. Proverbs chapter 12 verses 23 to
- 4:2424 World English Bible A prudent man keeps his knowledge, but the
- 4:29hearts of fools proclaim foolishness.
- 4:31The hands of the diligent ones shall rule, but laziness ends in
- 4:35slave labor. Judges Chapter 3 World English
- 4:38Bible. Now these are the nations which
- 4:40Yahweh left to test Israel by them, even as many as had not
- 4:44known all the wars of Canaan, only that the generations of the
- 4:48children of Israel might know to teach them war, at least those
- 4:52who knew nothing of it before. The five Lords of the
- 4:54Philistines, all the Canaanites, the Sedonians and the Hivites
- 4:58who lived on Mount Lebanon from Mount Bale, Hermon to the
- 5:02entrance of Hamath. They were left to test Israel by
- 5:04them to know whether they would listen to Yahweh's commandments
- 5:08which He commanded their fathers by Moses.
- 5:11The children of Israel lived among the Canaanites, the
- 5:13Hittites, the Amorites, the Perizzites, the Hivites and the
- 5:17Jebusites. They took their daughters to be
- 5:19their wives and gave their own daughters to their sons and
- 5:22served their gods. The children of Israel did that
- 5:25which was evil in Yahweh's sight and forgot Yahweh their God, and
- 5:29served the Baales and the Asharath.
- 5:32Therefore, Yahweh's anger burned against Israel, and He sold them
- 5:36into the hand of Cushion Rishitime, king of Mesopotamia.
- 5:39And the children of Israel served cushion Rishitime 8
- 5:41years. When the children of Israel
- 5:44cried to Yahweh, Yahweh raised up a savior to the children of
- 5:47Israel who saved them. Even Othneil, the son of Kennas,
- 5:51Caleb's younger brother. Yahweh's spirit came on him, and
- 5:55He judged Israel, and he went out to war.
- 5:57And Yahweh delivered cushion Rishitime, king of Mesopotamia,
- 6:00into his hand. His hand prevailed against
- 6:03cushion Rishitime. The land had rest 40 years.
- 6:06Then Othneil, the son of Kennas died.
- 6:09The children of Israel again did that which was evil in Yahweh's
- 6:12sight, and Yahweh strengthened Eglon, the king of Moab, against
- 6:16Israel, because they had done that which was evil in Yahweh's
- 6:19sight. He gathered the children of
- 6:21Ammon and a Malek to himself, and he went and struck Israel,
- 6:25and they possessed the city of palm trees.
- 6:28The children of Israel served Eglon the king of Moab 18 years.
- 6:32But when the children of Israel cried to Yahweh, Yahweh raised
- 6:35up a savior for them. Ehud the son of Guerra the
- 6:39Benjamite, a left-handed man. The children of Israel sent
- 6:42tribute by him to Eglon, the king of Moab.
- 6:45Ehud made himself a sword which had two edges, a cubit in
- 6:48length, and he wore it under his clothing on his right thigh.
- 6:52He offered the tribute to Eglon, king of Moab.
- 6:55Now Eglon was a very fat man. When Ehud had finished offering
- 6:58the tribute, he sent away the people who carried the tribute,
- 7:01but he himself turned back from the stone idols that were by
- 7:04Gilgal and said, I have a secret message for you, O king.
- 7:08The king said keep silence. All who stood by him left him.
- 7:12Ehud came to him and he was sitting by himself alone in the
- 7:15cool upper room. Ehud said, I have a message from
- 7:18God to you. He arose out of his seat.
- 7:22Ehud put out his left hand and took the sword from his right
- 7:25thigh and thrust it into his body.
- 7:27The handle also went in after the blade and the fat closed on
- 7:30the blade for he didn't draw the sword out of his body and it
- 7:34came out behind. Then Ehud went out onto the
- 7:37porch and shut the doors of the upper room on him and locked
- 7:40them. After he had gone, his servants
- 7:42came and saw that the doors of the upper room were locked.
- 7:45They said surely he is covering his feet in the upper room.
- 7:49They waited until they were ashamed, and behold, he didn't
- 7:52open the doors of the upper room.
- 7:54Therefore they took the key and opened them, and behold, their
- 7:57Lord had fallen down dead on the floor.
- 8:00Ehud escaped while they waited, passed beyond the stone idols
- 8:03and escaped to Sarah. When he had come, he blew a
- 8:06trumpet in the Hill Country of Ephraim, and the children of
- 8:09Israel went down with him from the Hill Country, and he led
- 8:12them. He said to them, Follow me, for
- 8:15Yahweh has delivered your enemies, the Moabites, into your
- 8:17hand. They followed him and took the
- 8:20Fords of the Jordan against the Moabites and didn't allow any
- 8:23man to Passover. They struck at that time about
- 8:2610,000 men of Moab, every strong man and every man of valor.
- 8:31No man escaped, so Moab was subdued that day under the hand
- 8:35of Israel. Then the land had rest. 80 years
- 8:38after him was Shamgar, the son of an Ath who struck 600 men of
- 8:42the Philistines with an ox goad. He also saved Israel.
