- 0:00Speaker 1: Here's Adam with Jim Mora.
- 0:02Speaker 2: Thank you very much, Bob. We are down here in
- 0:04Speaker 2: the locker room with head coach Jim Mora. Sixty six
- 0:07Speaker 2: carries four hundred plus yards on the ground when you
- 0:10Speaker 2: came into today, was that the plan or did it
- 0:13Speaker 2: just present itself as the best option?
- 0:16Speaker 1: I mean, we always try to be balanced, but you know,
- 0:18Speaker 1: when you're running the ball like that, you just continue
- 0:20Speaker 1: to do it, you know, because that's how you you know,
- 0:22Speaker 1: you wear a good team out when you're able to
- 0:24Speaker 1: do that. We think they're a good defense. But you know,
- 0:26Speaker 1: we just got our neck up on the run a
- 0:28Speaker 1: little bit and decided to keep going with it.
- 0:30Speaker 2: Darrell Robinson, part of what has seemed to be now
- 0:32Speaker 2: a foreheaded monster in the backfield. Did what did he
- 0:35Speaker 2: do that impressed you the most today?
- 0:37Speaker 1: Well, he runs hard, he breaks tackles, he secures the ball.
- 0:40Speaker 1: You know, he's relentless in the way that he you know,
- 0:42Speaker 1: just attacks the line of scrimmage, attacks the secondary. Mel
- 0:47Speaker 1: played well. Cam was good. Obviously not having Victor, you know,
- 0:50Speaker 1: we'd love to have him. I'm not sure if we'll
- 0:51Speaker 1: get him back this week. Hopefully we will because huge
- 0:54Speaker 1: challenge this week. You know, Buffalo beat NIU, who beat
- 0:57Speaker 1: Notre Dames. So they're coming in here three and one.
- 1:00Speaker 1: So we're gonna enjoy this for a little while and
- 1:02Speaker 1: then we're gonna we're gonna get onto the next one.
- 1:04Speaker 2: Yeah, you mentioned Mel Brown, So two guys with one
- 1:06Speaker 2: hundred and fifty yards. Do you bring these guys in
- 1:08Speaker 2: from outside the program and they what have they added
- 1:11Speaker 2: to the program itself?
- 1:13Speaker 1: Well, Mel is like a joystick, I mean, you know,
- 1:16Speaker 1: the stop and start and the lateral stuff like that.
- 1:19Speaker 1: And we haven't even seen him really get a chance
- 1:20Speaker 1: to return a kick yet. He's a really good kick returner.
- 1:23Speaker 1: And then Derell, besides what you saw in terms of
- 1:25Speaker 1: just his production on the field, the energy he brings
- 1:27Speaker 1: to this team, he's just got a tremendous personality. I
- 1:30Speaker 1: mean he's loud, he gets the team going, and he's
- 1:34Speaker 1: a tough dude. Man, He's he's a tough dude. So
- 1:36Speaker 1: two really good additions.
- 1:38Speaker 2: On the defensive side of things. I know you said
- 1:41Speaker 2: that you know you aspire for a shutout and at
- 1:43Speaker 2: halftime we talked about wanting to keep that intensity. What
- 1:46Speaker 2: did you see out of the defense over the final thirty.
- 1:48Speaker 1: I mean, they made some plays. They were gonna make
- 1:50Speaker 1: some plays. That's a good quarterback, They've got good receivers.
- 1:53Speaker 1: You know, they got two good running backs. But we
- 1:56Speaker 1: have to tackle better, you know. I mean it always
- 1:57Speaker 1: comes down to that with us. It's just on defense.
- 2:00Speaker 1: It always comes down to that are you tackling? Are
- 2:01Speaker 1: you're not tackling? And I think the one that was
- 2:03Speaker 1: disappointed me was the long run that they that they
- 2:06Speaker 1: got to get the fourteen. You know, that's, uh, that's
- 2:08Speaker 1: not something that we're gonna accept.
- 2:11Speaker 2: Last one. Nick Evers plunged into the end zone that
- 2:13Speaker 2: second time. It seemed like that particular style of run
- 2:17Speaker 2: from your quarterback put a smile on your face. Lower
- 2:19Speaker 2: the shoulder or it was it maybe are you catching
- 2:22Speaker 2: against it?
- 2:23Speaker 1: Well, I I don't necessarily want to see that. I
- 2:26Speaker 1: just you know, when you're a quarterback, I mean, your
- 2:29Speaker 1: shoulder is in your arm is pretty important. But you
- 2:33Speaker 1: know it shows his competitiveness, you know. But uh, you
- 2:36Speaker 1: gotta you've got to really be smart about what you
- 2:40Speaker 1: do when you're playing in that position, and you know,
- 2:42Speaker 1: you get caught up in the emotion, the adrenaline, but
- 2:45Speaker 1: you know I want to make sure that he's taking
- 2:46Speaker 1: care of himself.
- 2:47Speaker 2: Coach, thanks so much, thank you.
