- 0:10Brandan: Hello, and welcome to the Sea Hawkers podcast.
- 0:14I'm your host Brandan Schulze, and I am joined by my good buddy Adam
- 0:19Emmert, as our Seattle Seahawks, Adam, get the win 30 to 23.
- 0:25We won, buddy.
- 0:27Adam: Hey, the win was lovely, but that game was ugly.
- 0:30look man, I'll tell you what right out of the, right off the rip.
- 0:34I never wanna see Scott Novak again in my football life.
- 0:37Never again.
- 0:37S-
- 0:37Brandan: Scott Novak?
- 0:39Adam: Yeah.
- 0:39That was the official, the official.
- 0:41Brandan: Oh, okay.
- 0:42Adam: Yeah.
- 0:42Yep.
- 0:43I don't ever wanna see him again.
- 0:45Brandan: Well, the thing that I don't wanna ever see again is a game that
- 0:48start, starts off with our opponent's quarterback throwing an interception, and
- 0:52then our Seahawks quarterback immediately throwing it right back to the opponent.
- 0:56Like, that's not a, the way to start a game either.
- 0:59Adam: Look, I, I, this was a win, and so we're gonna
- 1:02celebrate wins and all of that.
- 1:04But because it was kind of an ugly game, you start out with
- 1:07the turnovers here, Brandan.
- 1:09there's gonna be a lot to talk about this game that when you look
- 1:12at it, you go, "You know what?
- 1:14You play like this on the regular in the NFL, you're gonna get
- 1:17beat nine times out of 10."
- 1:19but that shows you the disparity between these two teams right now
- 1:22between the Seahawks and the Chargers.
- 1:24Brandan: Well, it, it was a turnover-filled game, but all those
- 1:27turnovers were on the side of the Char- not all of them, but, 80% of
- 1:32them were on the side of the Chargers.
- 1:33Yeah.
- 1:34But let's just get this out of the way quickly, Adam.
- 1:36penalties, because we had- Oh, God … oh, man, I had it pulled up, too.
- 1:42Where'd they go?
- 1:43The, the NFL's trying to hide the penalty numbers from me.
- 1:4616 for 130 yards for- Good Lord … the Chargers, and 14
- 1:52for 150 yards for the Seahawks.
- 1:55I, I thought that this was interesting.
- 1:57The Seahawks rushed for five first downs.
- 2:00they also had five first downs off of penalties.
- 2:02The Chargers also had five first downs off of penalties compared
- 2:07to SNCC's rushing first downs.
- 2:08Adam: Seahawks personal fouls were the best play the
- 2:11Chargers had all second half.
- 2:13they could not stop committing stupid 15-yard penalties.
- 2:17Just couldn't do it.
- 2:18Mike having a meltdown at the end of half, too, like, when Emmanwori
- 2:20picks up that one, and, I'm sure he got a talking to at half.
- 2:24But, you know, one of the good things that comes out of games like this
- 2:27is you come away with a dub, right?
- 2:28You get the three and one.
- 2:30Brandan: .
- 2:30Adam: But there's a lot that Mike can chew, into this team
- 2:34and just get on some people's asses and that it'll be good.
- 2:37It'll be a good thing for him.
- 2:38Brandan: Yeah.
- 2:39The, well, you mentioned the personal foul being m- their best play.
- 2:43But they did, Quentin Johnston had to make me eat my words one
- 2:47time with his one catch of 44 yards.
- 2:49Oh, God.
- 2:50On a fourth down play.
- 2:52Adam: Fourth and seven, all I need is the Seahawks to kick a field goal for
- 2:56me to hit my bet for Blue Friday bets-
- 2:58on second half points.
- 2:59It would've certainly ended up that way, or at least a touchdown at that
- 3:02point, and they can't get off the field.
- 3:04Like, they get some pressure on the edge, and Herbert throws up a Hail Mary.
- 3:09Pritchett can't seem to locate it.
- 3:10Job's late coming over, and Quentin Johnston has his one miraculous catch that
- 3:15he's had in probably a season and a half.
- 3:18Brandan: Sam Darnold finishes the day with 13 completions is
- 3:22all on 22 attempts, 168 yards.
- 3:25He has two touchdowns, and I, I like the fact that they finished the day with
- 3:30138 yards on the ground, 33 carries.
- 3:34So definitely balanced in the way of the run game.
- 3:38But, I…
- 3:40Well, maybe I shouldn't say but.
- 3:42how about that, Adam?
- 3:43Adam: How about that?
- 3:44no, it was balanced.
- 3:46I will say that at least they stuck with the run game.
- 3:50It wasn't- Yeah … it wasn't pretty.
- 3:52It wasn't pretty by any stretch of the imagination, and it did seem for
- 3:55the first half of the game there, they were starting out, it was like, if it's
- 3:58an inside run, it's gonna be Wilson.
- 4:00If it's an outside run, it's gonna be Holani.
- 4:02Holani cannot catch the edge for nothing.
- 4:04Like, it just isn't there.
- 4:06You saw Fleury make a nice adjustment at halftime and get Shaheed the ball on the
- 4:10perimeter out of the backfield, and that helped out quite a bit in the run game.
- 4:14We can get to the pass game a little bit and Sam's day, because I think there's
- 4:17some important things to talk about in the first half for Sam, but- Look, man,
- 4:21it does highlight how badly we're gonna need, now on IR, Jadarian Price.
- 4:26Like, that happened after we did our news and notes on Saturday.
- 4:29Brandan: Our Saturday show, yeah.
- 4:30Adam: Yeah.
- 4:30and then also the return of Ja- Zach Charbonnet.
- 4:34We're gonna, we're gonna need those boys.
- 4:36Brandan: Well, I guess while we're talking about the IR news for, Jadarian
- 4:40Price, they al- they're also bringing in Joe Mixon, for a look, so- Hmm
- 4:44great.
- 4:45you know, we all know, - I
- 4:48Adam: like Prime Joe Mixon.
- 4:49Brandan: I, I mean- Yeah … Joe Mixon, the running back, in
- 4:53pri- in his prime was good.
- 4:54I, I don't like the Joe Mixon's past either.
- 4:58I know, I know it's been a while since, his college days, but, you
- 5:02know, John Schneider- Oh, yeah … was pretty emphatic about his, stance
- 5:05on hitting women, and, that was something that Joe Mixon did, was,
- 5:10punch another student in the face, during his time at Oklahoma.
- 5:13So, GodzeraHawk, $10 super chat.
- 5:16I have some concerns, would be an understatement.
- 5:19Yeah.
- 5:19But a win is a win is a win, and we got the win.
- 5:23And, yeah, I, the, the run game, I, I guess for the volume that they did it, I,
- 5:30I was ultimately happy with the numbers.
- 5:33With Emanuel Wilson, he was over four yards per carry.
- 5:37As a team…
- 5:37Well, no, he wasn't over four yards per carry, was he?
- 5:40he, right at 3.9,
- 5:41but over four yards per carry.
- 5:43As a team, 4.2.
- 5:44That helped out by the Rasheed Shaheed carries, where,
- 5:48he got the 128 yard touchdown.
- 5:51Adam, we, we've been saying, "Hey, if you want some speed out
- 5:53of the backfield, maybe you give it to our dude Rasheed Shaheed."
- 5:57He's been the guy who I think has had a few daggers sent his way-
- 6:01Mm-hmm … especially with his performance so far in comparison to
- 6:04his contract, especially when you look at the contract that, it being
- 6:08similar to Kenneth Walker, that, …
- 6:11People are, ha- are making that direct comparison.
- 6:13Yeah.
- 6:13But Shaheed gets the ball, goes into the end zone, 28 yard touchdown,
- 6:18puts the Seahawks on the board early.
- 6:20Adam: You bet.
- 6:20Nice play.
- 6:21Kupp had a fantastic block on that play as well.
- 6:24I actually think Fleury in the scheme as a whole has looked pretty good, and
- 6:30good for him for making the adjustment at halftime and getting the ball into
- 6:33Shaheed's hand for a couple perimeter runs instead of trying to, get
- 6:37Holani out on the edge, which was, you know, a fool's errand at that point.
- 6:42But, let's get to, let's get to some of Sam's play in this game in,
- 6:48first off, the first pick, like duder.
- 6:51Brandan: Dude.
- 6:52Adam: Come on.
- 6:52Well,
- 6:52Brandan: Holani did slip.
- 6:54Adam: Oh, he missed Holani completely.
- 6:56Like, he, he threw it to directly to the, to the other dude.
- 6:59-
- 7:00Brandan: Well, I, I think if Holani doesn't slip, then he's…
- 7:03I think he's counting on Holani then maybe being in position then
- 7:07Adam: to- To make a
- 7:08Brandan: screen or make a tackle
- 7:08'cause it was a mismatch, right?
- 7:09The…
- 7:10I think, I think you look at that and you go, "Oh, Holani on Tuli Tuipulotu.
- 7:14That, that is a mismatch that I feel like we would wanna take advantage
- 7:18of," and then he slips, and then the ball goes right into Tuli's hands
- 7:23Adam: Okay.
- 7:24Brandan: looked like a- I'm trying to be generous here to Sam- Yeah
- 7:26on that one.
- 7:26Adam: It looked like this was a bad day for Sam throughout the first half.
- 7:29I thought this was one of the worst halves of football I've seen Sam play in a while.
- 7:34specifically on third down, 'cause if we kinda go through some
- 7:37of those third downs, this wasn't a scheme problem on third down today.
- 7:41This was a Sam Darnold problem.
- 7:43You got the, one of the first third downs where he holds the ball for
- 7:47fricking ever and then ends up taking an intentional grounding.
- 7:51And the color commentator, whoever, Logan Ryan, he, "No,
- 7:56this guy's covered up, this guy's covered up, this guy's covered up."
- 7:58And it's like, yeah, but not this guy over here-
- 8:01the check down to the back who's wide ass open.
- 8:04Right.
- 8:04Like, the, didn't get to the check down.
- 8:06Then he's got another third down where, you know, the color commentator
- 8:11makes a big deal about missing the JSN being open, but they high-low the corner
- 8:17there, and he chooses to throw the low ball to Barner, which is a fine decision.
- 8:21You would've picked up the first down.
- 8:23Brandan: Right.
- 8:23Adam: He just misses the throw.
- 8:24Brandan: Right.
- 8:25Adam: He puts it way too out in front of Barner.
- 8:27Just a bad ball.
- 8:28No reason for it to be a bad ball.
- 8:30And then the next third down-
- 8:32Brandan: He had that one out to JSN where he was wide open, and I, I don't know
- 8:36if he was a little jittery because of the, the first, throw to the side,
- 8:40like the first pass of the game to why he wasn't going to the sidelines at all.
- 8:44Adam: Here's the thing.
- 8:44Okay, if you're, if you're jittery about throwing it to the
- 8:47sideline, that's totally fine.
- 8:48He ends up throwing it a little deeper downfield.
- 8:49I'm not sure who he's even targeting.
- 8:51But he has JSN wide open on the out, decide- turns that down.
- 8:57Okay, fine.
- 8:58Don't throw it down the field.
- 8:59Look at Kupp on the drag route that's coming underneath.
- 9:02He's wide ass open.
- 9:04Like, it's an easy first down that'll run everybody off
- 9:07and throw it underneath play.
- 9:09Yeah.
- 9:09Like, it was right there.
- 9:10I didn't think Sam saw it today very well.
- 9:13Yeah.
- 9:13And, you know, had a, had a rough first half.
- 9:16Settled down a bit in the second half, ripped some throws, had a
- 9:18couple touchdowns and, was able to lead the team to victory.
- 9:21But, I, I didn't see that as a Fleury problem when it came to the third downs.
- 9:26That felt like execution from Sam's part.
- 9:29Brandan: Yeah.
- 9:29And, like I said, only 13 completions on the day.
- 9:32So, y- I think Barner had a drop that was in there.
- 9:36JSN finishes- He- Finished the day with 76 yards total.
- 9:41He led the team in receiving yards on five catches.
- 9:44Emanuel Wilson was, next up with three receptions for 39 yards.
- 9:50How about our guy Tory Horton, Adam, getting into the end
- 9:52zone, getting the touchdown.
- 9:54Yeah.
- 9:54And, that was his only catch of the day, but he got one into the end zone.
- 9:58Adam: Hey, it was Tory time.
- 10:00I love Tory time.
- 10:01And, that was a cool play call, too.
- 10:03I mean, it looked like they had it as kind of a, you know, look at me kinda
- 10:07play where Sam gets to the line, check with me- They, they're in that heavy run
- 10:10formation, off balance to the left-hand side, and, just Horton split off
- 10:15to the right, which, what a sneaky, sneaky personnel way to get to that.
- 10:20Because, you know, even the announcer made the comment,
- 10:22"Well, JSN's out on the field.
- 10:23That kinda tells you more run than anything."
- 10:25But all Tory Horton does is catch touchdowns.
- 10:28Like- … that's what he's done since he's got on this team, and, a
- 10:31great guy to have out there for it.
- 10:32The DB doesn't even try to cover it, and Horton scores easily.
- 10:36Brandan: Well, yeah, they were just all locked in on the run with Horton
- 10:40being only, the only one on the outside.
- 10:42And yeah, all he d- has to do is step into the end zone and Sam throws a strike.
- 10:46Adam: Yep Yeah, pretty sweet.
- 10:48yeah, but then the offense kind of stumbles in the fourth quarter
- 10:51after, you know, pulling ahead, being up 17, and can't really get it going.
- 10:56And some of that was the defense giving up, long drives on the s- the dumbest
- 11:01of penalties that- … you'll ever see.
- 11:04Brandan: That was the annoying part, the penalties, 'cause third down
- 11:07efficiency on the day, pretty good.
- 11:10the Chargers had five third down conversions on 15 attempts.
- 11:15Now, they did have the two.
- 11:17Okay.
- 11:17They were 100% on their fourth down efficiency.
- 11:20So they…
- 11:21But they did beat the Seahawks on third down, 'cause we were 3 of 12.
- 11:25So not a great day for us either on third down.
- 11:29And, I think that's probably what led to this.
- 11:33The flags obviously making it feel sloppy.
- 11:37It felt like a preseason game w- with- It
- 11:39Adam: really did
- 11:40Brandan: all the flags, and then a lot of the…
- 11:42The, Fleury had some nice calls mixed in there.
- 11:46But then, yeah, a lot of it, like Nate Schutze was saying, felt like we went
- 11:49into the four-minute offense too early.
- 11:51It, it did feel rather basic in terms of, you know, just trying to run the football.
- 11:58And maybe it was an overemphasis after last week of being a little bit
- 12:03too light with running the football.
- 12:05Adam: Well, look, if we're gonna praise Brian Fleury from getting to the
- 12:08four-minute offense early, bleeding out the clock against the Cardinals, we,
- 12:13we can't kill him for trying to attempt to do the, the same thing late in this game.
- 12:19And really, the reason why you do that, just, you know, in terms of philosophy for
- 12:24the team and what Coach Mike was probably thinking, up until that point it felt
- 12:28like even with a couple personal fouls, like the defense was giving up nothing.
- 12:32Like, you- Yeah … there's no way you thought that they were
- 12:34giving up 10 fourth quarter points.
- 12:36Brandan: No, no.
- 12:37Not the way the defense was playing.
- 12:39I, I thought that they'd be able to close it out, and, ultimately the
- 12:44Chargers get a field goal right before getting the ball back for the final
- 12:47time that they needed to try and score.
- 12:50Then we had, Uchenna Nwosu closing it out, getting the fumble.
- 12:53We've got Ryan911 coming in with a 999 super chat, our live executive producer.
- 13:00Go Hawks.
- 13:01Need more Wildcat though.
- 13:02No Wildcat on the day, Adam.
- 13:04Adam: not sad about that.
- 13:06I can't stand Wildcat, never wanna see it.
- 13:08one thing I do like to see more though, because Clinton's here in the
- 13:11chat, and he's running this for us- Yeah
- 13:13it's like, let's talk some screen game, boys.
- 13:15And, we've seen some successful screens out of Fleury here.
- 13:19And this is the most successful screening offense we've had in what, 15 years?
- 13:24And we're four games in.
- 13:25Yeah,
- 13:25Brandan: since Holmgren probably.
- 13:27Adam: Yeah.
- 13:28Brandan: Yeah.
- 13:29And, some of that, I, I mentioned Emanuel Wilson having
- 13:32those, an average of 13 yards per reception, so nice to see that.
- 13:37Plus, the, he had the 23-yard touchdown.
- 13:41Adam: Yeah, he did, and, that was really cool to see.
- 13:43They had that nice kinda slip screen to Barner, late in the,
- 13:48late in the game there where…
- 13:49And we've seen this come out of the Shanahan stuff, you know, you kinda
- 13:53look right, flip it back left, and then kick it back to the middle.
- 13:55That, that was a nice little tricky play there.
- 13:58yeah, Fleury's in his bag when it comes to the screen game, for sure.
- 14:02Brandan: Marlon in chat saying the flag on Hall was garbage.
- 14:05There's so many flags to choose from.
- 14:07Okay.
- 14:07I don't even know if I just would agree with that being a garbage…
- 14:11Adam: No, that- That's the exact right call.
- 14:13You can't come down- 'Cause- … with your full body weight on the quarterback.
- 14:15You can't do it.
- 14:16They're gonna throw the flag every time.
- 14:18Brandan: Right.
- 14:18Yeah, and we saw that.
- 14:20People were showing that with Mahomes last week.
- 14:22He got the flag for the body weight going down on him, and I feel like
- 14:26maybe we've gotten away from the body weight flag a little bit.
- 14:29But as many flags as there were, there weren't a lot to where I went, "Okay."
- 14:34Adam: They were the right call, right?
- 14:35Brandan: They were the right call, it just, it was so many that it felt
- 14:39like, do we need to call this many?
- 14:42Adam: Yeah.
- 14:43I mean, Eman gets the, the face mask, for sure.
- 14:46Spoon, absolut- now, the Spoon one, you might be able to debate, only
- 14:50because he does start the contact inbounds, but, like, you're two, two
- 14:55steps out of bounds by the time you decide to do the flip him over and,
- 14:58and throw him to the ground thing.
- 14:59Like-
- 14:59Brandan: Mm-hmm
- 14:59… Adam: you gotta have a little better awareness than that.
- 15:01and then the Hall thing we just talked about as well.
- 15:04trying to think of some of the other freaking personal fouls of this game.
- 15:09Brandan: Any of the 30.
- 15:10Yeah, right.
- 15:10Yeah.
- 15:11The personal fouls, but yeah, I- Yeah, going low, the, the one
- 15:16that, like that one, where DeMarcus Lawrence, I think, was
- 15:20called for going low on Herbert.
- 15:22Adam: Yeah.
- 15:22Brandan: And I mean, that was a- We never got a
- 15:24Adam: good look to see if, you know- He got
- 15:26Brandan: pushed, right?
- 15:27Adam: If he got pushed down as he's going towards the quarterback 'cause
- 15:29that would change that call, but we never got to really see it on the TV
- 15:32copy, so that'll be interesting to see.
- 15:35But if we want to talk about some positives that come out of this game,
- 15:40I think one of the things that really stood out to me is I really felt Spoon
- 15:44and Emmanwori, on the perimeter and i- in run support, and then Eamon
- 15:50Waire with, some really quality pass rushes throughout this, game as well.
- 15:55I thought this was the best game from those two stars so far.
- 15:59Brandan: Yeah.
- 15:59It was fun seeing Emmanwori get down in, like, a four-point
- 16:02stance and, come off the edge.
- 16:05And you could see the quickness, too, because as he bit in on, on one of
- 16:10the plays where he was lined up at end, you know, he bit in, but
- 16:14then Herbert, rushed out of the pocket a little bit, and he did a
- 16:18quick spin move and went after him.
- 16:20It ended up not being…
- 16:21I don't think it was a quarterback hit or anything, but I, I- probably
- 16:24registered as a quarterback hurry.
- 16:26But, yeah, cool to see Eamon Waire down there and, you know,
- 16:29just not getting dump trucked by an offensive lineman, right?
- 16:32Because it kind of- Yeah … gives you a little bit of Cam Chancellor flashbacks
- 16:35and seeing how he would be able to handle, dudes at the tackle spot.
- 16:39Adam: It's pretty cool to see him unleashed in that way,
- 16:41and I think he's gonna continue to be very effective with that.
- 16:44I see a couple of people, go back to the personal fouls.
- 16:47The one on Brady Russell was stupid.
- 16:49That one was just, like, are you kidding me?
- 16:51My God.
- 16:52Like, he is, like, barely touches the dude after the play and- Yeah,
- 16:55Brandan: that one, that one was probably the most iffy if we're,
- 16:58if we're grading them on a scale.
- 17:00Yokai Hawk, never iffy.
- 17:02Going in with 1,000 yen.
- 17:04Sheed for RB1.
- 17:05Yeah.
- 17:0516.5
- 17:07yards per carry.
- 17:08I, I think you want to use him sparingly with going to the outside, but he is the
- 17:12most effective speed guy on the team now with, both Wilson and, Holani.
- 17:19Really not able to get to the edge, and I, I suspect that that's why
- 17:22they want to take a look at Mixon.
- 17:24But, you know, there's-
- 17:26Adam: Yeah, that's a…
- 17:26You've reminded me of some of his past stuff.
- 17:28That's a hard pass for me.
- 17:29I'm good.
- 17:31Brandan: yeah, well shoot, we got, Ja- Jacardie Wright, who I feel-
- 17:36Yeah … like is kind of a fast guy.
- 17:37He might be able to, to do some of those outside runs.
- 17:40But, yeah, we'll see about that throughout the week.
- 17:43Appreciate everybody joining us in chat.
- 17:46Yokai Hawk saying, "Zero mentions of Big Cat until he went out in Q4,
- 17:51and Charger O-line down by 40, 60%.
- 17:54What happened?"
- 17:55I mean, Big Cat, I, I'd have to go back and, and watch to see what…
- 18:00I, I felt like he had a couple plays where he was in the backfield, so-
- 18:05Adam: Oh, yeah
- 18:05… Brandan: just not having his name called necessarily.
- 18:07Ernest Jones definitely- Yeah … showed out in terms of
- 18:10guys on the defense, 'cause he led the day on tackles for the defense.
- 18:15He had the interception, along with the…
- 18:17Drake Thomas had the other interception.
- 18:18I d- I didn't get to see the other, the Drake Thomas interception
- 18:21because, I went to the restroom.
- 18:24And then what ended up happening, Adam- Yeah … is that when
- 18:27I was in the bathroom, Drake Thomas got the interception.
- 18:30Then before the final drive of the day, my mom and my wife said, "Don't
- 18:34you, don't you have to use the bathroom here, like with one minute left to go?"
- 18:37And I was like, "No, I can…
- 18:38I'm fine.
- 18:39I can make it."
- 18:39And they're like, "No, really.
- 18:40I think we could use-" "… a turnover here."
- 18:43Yeah.
- 18:43And sure enough, I went in, and then Nuosu gets the fumble,
- 18:46so you're welcome, everybody.
- 18:48Adam: There you go.
- 18:48so team success is tethered to Brandan's pain going forward,
- 18:52so that's good to know there.
- 18:54Brandan: - I just gotta make sure I drink lots of water next
- 18:56Adam: game.
- 18:56That's right.
- 18:56Be hydrated, my friend.
- 18:58yeah, Clinton here saying Murphy had a pretty big game, and he did.
- 19:01That, that rush that he had, from the standup position, from
- 19:05the inside, I mean, he kinda looked like a standup edge defender there.
- 19:08He just smoked Penning on that, and-
- 19:11Brandan: Mm-hmm
- 19:11… Adam: that clean tackle, d- that was perfect.
- 19:13That's, that's teach tape right there.
- 19:16Brandan: Yep, good day for him, or at least he, he did show up
- 19:19on the, on the defense.
- 19:22other guys on the day, yeah, Nick Emmanwori, nine total tackles.
- 19:26Spoon, nine tackles.
- 19:28Emmanwori credited with…
- 19:31Oh, he had that sack where, he got Herbert way back- Yeah … and, ended
- 19:36up at midfield, so a nice sack by Emmanwori.
- 19:40And yeah, tackles for a loss, there were nine total.
- 19:44Emmanwori had two.
- 19:45DeMarcus Lawrence had two.
- 19:47quarterback hits on the day, Nwosu finished with the most at
- 19:51three, and Nick Emmanwori with two.
- 19:54Adam: Yeah, Nwosu had himself a big ga- day today as well.
- 19:57He looked great.
- 19:58I mean, Tank Lawrence looked good at times as well.
- 20:01I thought the, the front played really nicely for the Seahawks this game.
- 20:06They really did shut down the run game.
- 20:08it allowed Omarion Hampton to get one more yard than I
- 20:11needed him to get, so- Oh,
- 20:12Brandan: no
- 20:13… Adam: super annoying.
- 20:14yeah, I-
- 20:15Brandan: 45 yards on the day for Hampton.
- 20:17Adam: -huh.
- 20:18Brandan: on the ground, 39 for Keaton Mitchell.
- 20:21Yeah, they finished the day… Well, Herbert had that one big run too of
- 20:2526 yards and, Vidal 25 yards.
- 20:29So yeah, 147 rushing yards, so they- Yeah, a couple plays … still
- 20:33continue their streak of not allowing a 100-yard running back rushing,
- 20:37but, they split it up with three different guys getting nearly 40 yards.
- 20:43Adam: Yeah, it…
- 20:43Look, I'm not gonna fret too much about somebody like Herbert picking
- 20:46up a bunch of stuff in scramble mode.
- 20:48not that big of a deal.
- 20:50not something that's sustainable.
- 20:52It's not something that you're gonna look at going down the stretch and be like,
- 20:55"That's the Achilles' heel of this team.
- 20:57Just can't stop a running quarterback," you know?
- 20:59Brandan: It was funny, at one point in the game, Trey Harris had a better
- 21:03quarterback rating than Justin Herbert.
- 21:05It was right around the time Trey Harris had that incomplete pass that was
- 21:09thrown to Herbert, and he finishes the day with a quarterback rating of 39.6.
- 21:14I think Herbert was under 30 at the time, but then Herbert, by the end of the
- 21:19game he had a couple of those long passes.
- 21:21I think the touchdown may have came after that, and so finishes the day
- 21:25with a quarterback rating of 62.4.
- 21:29I don't know how much I believe in the quarterback rating system.
- 21:32When Sam had a quarterback rating of 94.5,
- 21:36it, it didn't feel like a 90, performance but-
- 21:41Adam: I don't
- 21:41Brandan: know … with the interception.
- 21:42Yeah.
- 21:43Yeah.
- 21:43Just not a lot of completions, not a lot of yards.
- 21:46Adam: Not a lot of attempts really either But he did
- 21:48Brandan: have the two touchdowns.
- 21:49Adam: He had the two touchdowns.
- 21:49I don't know, that felt about like a 94 to me.
- 21:51Brandan: Okay.
- 21:52Adam: Yeah.
- 21:53It all kinda buffed out there I think in the end.
- 21:56Yeah.
- 21:56Anything else that kinda stood out for me for this game?
- 21:58Because, look man, like, we were getting ready to pop onto this and I,
- 22:01I don't think any, e- either of us were like fired up to talk about this one.
- 22:05Brandan: It was a rough game to watch, and the scoring was nice.
- 22:11Like, I can't really complain about putting up 30 points-
- 22:14Right … and I can't really complain about getting four turnovers.
- 22:19especially one of the, the turnovers was on special teams,
- 22:22right, that helped get in position.
- 22:25that was one of our better plays of the game, was just Michael
- 22:27Dickson punting it and, their returner fumbling it on special teams.
- 22:32So yeah, it's-
- 22:34Adam: Kinda nice for Jay to get one over on Jim there.
- 22:37Brandan: Right.
- 22:37Yeah.
- 22:37Yeah.
- 22:38We got our one Jay Harbaugh special teams play.
- 22:41Adam: Yeah.
- 22:41Brandan: So he can, he can stay on for another week.
- 22:44Adam: And it was fun to see Mike Mack beat the pants off of Mike Mick.
- 22:49That was awesome.
- 22:49Brandan: Right.
- 22:50Adam: Yeah.
- 22:50Brandan: Yeah.
- 22:51And yeah, Jay beats his dad, Jay, yeah, Jim Harbaugh.
- 22:56I got that wrong in the, the preview show.
- 22:59I kept saying John- Oh, where you going John?
- 23:00instead of Jim.
- 23:01Adam: Ah, okay.
- 23:01Well, whatever.
- 23:02You don't have to keep your Harbaughs straight.
- 23:04Brandan: No.
- 23:04Too many Harbaughs.
- 23:05Jim Harbaugh takes the L, our Seahawks take the dub.
- 23:08I, I don't know if there's anything else, Adam, with this one because the,
- 23:13the amount of time we actually got to watch football in between all of the
- 23:16flags, I, I think, it, it made it a little bit more difficult to watch.
- 23:22Adam: Tweet, personal foul on you for not being fired up for a win.
- 23:27Brandan: And I think with that-
- 23:28Adam: There's only one thing left to say
- 23:30… Brandan: go Hawks.
- 23:31Adam: Go Hawks
