- Craig: If you like offense, and I know that you do, week one of the NFL did not disappoint. Well, welcome back to the kitchen here on Fat Daddy Sports. I am your host, Craig, and week one was amazing. I mean, there was offense galore, the most points scored or the most averaged points scored by offenses since the 1970 merger going into Monday night football. I mean, offense was out of this world. So many big named fantasy players scored big for your teams over the weekend, and we are talking about it all right now. Starting on Thursday night with the Patriots and the Seahawks, this one got off to kind of a weird start. Sam Darnold comes up injured on like the first drive. I have him on one of my dynasty teams. He's a bench quarterback, thankfully. But just to see him go down like that at the start of the season was really kind of Kind of strange, but also really kind of hurt my dynasty team. And then later on in the game, AJ Brown gets banged up with an ankle injury. Trevion Henderson already came in injured. And that was just a game where the Patriots looked like they lacked offensive explosiveness. They continued giving the ball to Ramondre Stevenson, who I was screaming at my TV to stop giving him the ball. It was just so boring to watch. Drake May is my quarterback in a lot of leagues this year. I've got really high hopes for him this year. And so seeing Romandre Stevenson continue to run into his lineman and just kind of plod along was so frustrating. But at the end of the day, Romandre scored a pretty good amount for you if you had him in your lineup. He was right around that 14 point mark, depending on your league. Caught a Bunch of dump off passes, and that's going to continue. I mean, with AJ Brown now headed to IR, Ramondre Stevenson's gonna have a good value for this Patriots offense. Maybe on Henderson, we'll see how long he's out for. But as long as he's out, Ramondre's gonna continue to provide probably ⁓ high-end RB two, maybe even low end RB one numbers just because of the volume alone. He's gonna get those short yardage goal line carries, he's gonna get a ton of dump-off passes, and really He's a trusted weapon. I say that very lightly when I say weapon, because I am not a Ramondre Stevenson truther at all. But I think moving forward, he's gonna provide very good value for you. Looking over at the Seattle side, you had Judarian Price looked absolutely explosive. But then you also had George Helani who got a lot of carries and a lot of key carries. And I think that that's just kind of what it's gonna be. It doesn't really matter who the name is on the back of the jersey. Seattle's gonna run a timeshare no matter who the running backs are. Obviously, Zach Charbonnet is coming back from the pup list soon, and he's gonna be added into that mix. I think he probably just takes over for Halani. And Jadarian Price's carry has probably come down a little bit. I think he's probably the one B and Charbonnet ends up being the one A once he's fully worked back in. But I do think that Jadarian Price did look very good, very explosive. He looked a lot like Ken Walker out there for the Seahawks. And I think moving forward, you know, if anything were to happen to any of those backfield members, Jadarian Price is going to explode in fantasy if he ever gets that. One a true workhorse load. Pause. He is a very dynamic running back, was very good at Notre Dame, kind of overshadowed by Jeremiah Love. But he's gonna have very good value if anything ever happens there. Without anything happening, though, he's gonna be in a timeshare. It's gonna be very murky all year, I do believe. And then you've got JSN who just continues to be a stud. I mean, his touchdown pass, he caught that thing and just hit the turbo boost, ran away from the defenders. He is so quick with the ball in his hands. He's just gone. He's electrifying. He's so so much fun to watch. I do worry about him a little bit with Drew Locke there at quarterback. Obviously talked about Sam Darnold getting hurt. We'll see how long Darnold is out for, but Drew Locke is the the starter now. We'll see what that does to JSN. I do knock him down just a little bit because of that, but JSN is a player that could catch a screen pass and take it 90 yards for a touchdown at any given time. So you can't knock him down too far, but be very, very limited in your expectations for JSN going forward for these next however long until Darnold is back. And then we saw the ghost of Cooper Cup come alive in that game, man. He caught some deep passes late in that game, made that one diving catch with his left hand. Caught it one-handed towards the end of the game and really looked like a stud. But that Seattle defense also just so, so good. Drake May throwing three interceptions in that game. The Sea Axe defense is going to be another fun unit this year, a very dominating unit, and especially when they're playing at home. Over to Thursday night over in Australia, the Rams and the 49ers, one team got there four years early. One team rolled in as kickoff was happening. And you could tell the difference. I mean Holy smokes, the Rams looked like they just got off of a plane. They looked so slow in all phases of the game offense, defense, the line, the secondary, the backs. It didn't matter. They looked like they were getting beat all over the place. The Niners looked like they were in midseason form. Obviously, a tough injury to the rookie Deshaun Stribling, somebody that I was very high on this year, has that ankle issue ankle issue. He's going to miss some time. We'll see exactly how much time it is, but. ⁓ he was kind of I mean, he was dominating the snaps for the 49ers until that injury. He didn't really get involved in the pass game a whole lot, but he was out there for a lot of snaps and that usually translates to good things. Mike Evans dominant. I I think that like I said in a lot of videos this year, I was staying away just because of the age, because I don't think he will play a full season. But when he is out there, he's gonna dominate. So you saw it right there. I mean Purdy went to Evans time and time again, especially on third down when they needed that first down, when they needed a touchdown, whatever it was, those key moments, he went to Mike Evans. I think part of that is also because George Kittle was still, you know, coming back from that Achilles injury. He was out there. He looked good, but I I don't think he's full go yet. I think as the season goes on, they'll lean on Kittle a little bit more. I still think Evans is gonna have a fine year if he's out there playing. But a ⁓ Demarcus Robinson was out there, caught that deep pass, touchdown. That was kind of surprising. And then probably the most surprising or second most surprising, we'll get to the most surprising in a minute, but second most surprising was probably Debo Samuel. I didn't expect him to have that big of a role. And I'm not sure that without Stribbling going down, that Debo maybe would have had that big of a role, but regardless, he did. He needs to be owned. If he's available in your league, somehow he's not owned in every league right now. If he is available, pick him up. He's gonna be a big part of this 49ers offense. And then probably the most surprising part was that Kalen Black was so involved in the backfield for the 49ers. There were reports that McCaffrey was cramping during that whole game. ⁓ I don't really know, but I do know that Kalen Black did look really good when he was in there. If he's available in your league, he needs to be owned. If anything happens to Christian McCaffrey, Kalen Black could be an absolute league winner. He looked very good, looked the part, and we know what Kyle Shanahan running backs do. It doesn't matter who it is, they always have produced over the years. They're gonna have big value. So Kalen Black needs to be owned. On the Los Angeles side, they just never really got things going. Stafford didn't look good. The line didn't look good. The running backs looked okay. Kyron Williams and Blake Corham. Corham definitely looked like he had a lot more juice. ⁓ but Kyron, I mean, Kyron just is what he is. And I talked about that in ⁓ The video where I talk about who to stay away from at their ADP. Karen Williams was going really high, and I I think that his ceiling is pretty much maxed out with Blake Coram there. I don't think there's a whole lot of upside there. He he just kind of is what he is. I mean, he's a low end RB one, high end RB two. I don't think he's ever gonna be that RB five or higher. I don't ever think he's gonna be lower than an RB eighteen. I I just think that that's what Kyron Williams is. He's gonna catch passes, he's gonna get those short goal line carries for touchdowns. ⁓ and I do think that the passing game's gonna get get going a little bit better. What was really strange to me in that game was the ⁓ red zone usage. Devontae Adams was not on the field hardly at all. I think only one time. ⁓ and they really just tried to lean on that run game. They tried to sneak with forty year old Matthew Stafford. I don't know that that was the best play call, but ⁓ they ended up fumbling it and the 49ers got it anyway. I just think that that passing game's gonna get going. Puka Nakua was kind of not really involved. I mean, he had a few catches, ⁓ but for the most part, it was like, man, when is this passing offense gonna get going? When's Puka gonna get his? When is Devante gonna get his? And it just never really seemed to get going. The tight ends, they just cycled through a bunch of guys. Terrence Ferguson was out there a lot, but he wasn't really involved. He was somebody that I was really keeping an eye on here in the first week to see how involved he was. Never really got it going. I I think that's probably gonna be what it is moving forward this year. And then you move over to Sunday, the Saints and the Lions. That was an exciting game, kind of what I expected. An offensive shootout. Took a little bit of time to get going, but I mean, the Lions offense, pretty much what we expected. Jameer Gibbs was electric as always. Aman Ra is he You can't stop him. I mean, he's gonna get his 20 plus points almost every single game. Goff was okay, little careless at times. Jamison Williams, I think, has better days ahead. And then you look at Sam Laporta. I mean, eight targets in an offseason where he was injured. He was injured coming into the game, but he had eight targets. He caught five of those, 48 yards, no touchdowns, but that's what it's gonna be for Laporta. It's gonna be hit or miss, maybe a touchdown, maybe not. This offense is going to score a ton, so I like my odds of getting a touchdown with Laporta. But ⁓ the Lions offense really kind of what we expected. Looking over on the other side of things, Tyler Shuck took a long time to get going, but once he did get going, he turned in a pretty good day, ended up with 56 pass attempts. I mean, absolutely crazy, but that's just the the game that it was. I think Tyler Shuck is gonna be in a lot of those scripts, and I talked about that coming into this season, coming into this game. The Saints are in a division where they're gonna be in a lot of shootouts. They're a team kind of built for those shootouts. And Tyler Shuck's gonna have a ton of pass attempts. They have a lot of very exciting players on their team of Devon Vele kind of as that wide receiver too, maybe kind of surprised people a little bit, had a ton of targets. He's definitely a top waiver pickup this week. I don't know that it'll continue all season long as they start to get some of these other. Some of these other guys involved and get some guys back from injury. But right now he's their wide receiver too. Chris Olave had an absolutely crazy game as well. But he was also in the med tent, I think three times throughout the game. So one to keep an eye on for sure. Juwan Johnson, he's just a product of the environment. I think that he's a good tight end, but I think he's in an offense that's gonna be throwing the ball a lot, gonna want to put up a lot of points. So I I want a lot of these pieces of this Saints offense. I've talked about it a lot this offseason and it showed right there in week one. ⁓ and then you look at the the running backs and Travis Achan, he was not the greatest. He caught some passes, which helped his value a lot. But his carries, I mean, holy smokes, Kendra Miller was outpacing him at one point or out carrying him at one point. Elvin Camaro will be back from injury at some point. So it'll be interesting to see how he mixes in, but I think right now Kendra Miller, Alvin Kamara, they're out there in a lot of leagues. Check them out. They're gonna have a valuable piece in this offense. They're gonna ⁓ I think A Chan's definitely the one A, but I think that they're gonna rotate in another guy, whoever, you know, is healthy and is there is gonna get work and they could have some of their own value at the flex position, especially in those deeper leagues. Then you look over to the Tampa Bay fumble. I mean, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Cincinnati Bengals, the Buccaneers turned the ball over what felt like a million times every time they cut to them on red zone. It was a fumble by Baker or by Bucky or somebody else. The Bengals a ton of turnovers in that game for that defense. And the Buccaneers took a long time to get going. Bucky Irving was somebody that I was very vocal about being worried about this year. But he was fine. I I think as an RB2, he's going to be fine going forward. Kenny Gainwell didn't really do a whole lot. Wasn't really that involved. Bucky Irving was a lot more involved. I still think that they're gonna be a very pass heavy offense. They're gonna look to get the ball to those wide receivers a lot. And it just didn't work out that great yesterday. ⁓ you look at their team. I mean, starting with Abuka, he had six targets, five catches, six sixty-three yards. I mean, not terrible. But then you look over to Chris Godwin, four targets, four receptions, forty yards. Not terrible. Ted Hurst, the rookie, got involved, three catches on three targets for thirty-six yards. And you look at Baker. I mean, he only threw it twenty-eight times, twenty-three completions on those twenty-eight attempts, two hundred yards, no touchdowns, added five rushes for thirty yards and a touchdown. But yeah, like I said, the the running back, I mean, Bucky Irving had eight carries, forty-five yards, and a touchdown. And then Kenny Gainwell, five carries, fifteen yards. Kind of what I expected out of Kenny Gainwell. Honestly, I thought he'd be more involved in the passing game, only had one target, three yards, and he really just wasn't a factor at all. I think Bucky Irving is definitely the guy to own there. ⁓ we'll see going forward if Kenny Gainwell gets more involved, but as of right now, I think Bucky is a fine low end RB two. He's gonna be a consistent guy. He's gonna get you points. That Tampa Bay offense is gonna be better than they were yesterday. They're gonna be in scoring positions. And I think Bucky's gonna be the one that gets those goal line high value touches. So He's gonna provide good value for you. And then you look over at the tight end position, Kate Otten added in three catches for 26 yards. There wasn't a whole lot there. I mean, it was a fairly boring offensive game for the Buccaneers just because they turned it over so many times. And you want to talk about boring. Let's look over at the Cincinnati side, Jamar Chase, somebody that I have, unfortunately, in a lot of leagues this week. He had his whole two catches for 12 yards. Absolutely screwed me in a lot of leagues. But it just is what it is. There's way better days ahead with Jamar Chase. I mean, next week he could go for 60. Who knows? That's just what you get sometimes and you move on. I don't think that he's still has injury lingering. I just think that the entire offense was kind of out of sync. That was just a weird game. I mean, you look over at T. Higgins, T. Higgins had three catches for 59 yards. I mean, the the entire pass offense was not great. Until you get over to Mike Gasicki, seven targets, five catches, seventy-eight yards, and a touchdown. Who didn't think that Mike Gasicki was going to dominate in this game? You look over at the running back, Chase Brown, somebody that I also was very high on this year. I think he's undervalued in so many different leagues. ⁓ but he had 16 carries, 56 yards, and a touchdown. He also added five catches for 22 yards. Chase Brown's gonna that that's gonna be his numbers all year long. He's gonna be that low end RB1, very slept on, very undervalued. He's gonna probably put up running back one weeks where he has really big games. He gets the couple extra touchdown carries down in the red zone. And then his bad weeks are gonna be like running back 21. Like he's not gonna be terrible. He's not probably ever gonna be absolutely dominant, but he's always gonna be very consistent. He's on a very good offense. And he doesn't really have a whole lot of competition for touches. So pretty much what we expected out of them. ⁓ you look at Joe Burrow, a little bit disappointing. Twenty-five of thirty-five, one touchdown, one interception, sixteen points. ⁓ he added five carries for twenty yards. So just kind of an okay day for Joe Burrow, but better days ahead for this Bengals offense, better days ahead for the Bengals entirely. Moving on to The Baltimore Ravens and the Indianapolis Colts, holy smokes, that Ravens offense looks amazing. I was very, very low on them a couple months ago, and it kind of slowly started to turn. I did not think that we would get what we got yesterday out of Declan Doyle's offense. Holy cow, he said they were hunting big plays and big plays they had. Zay Flowers had like a million yards at halftime before coming up with that hamstring injury. He's banged up now. Going be out for a little while. Jacoby Lane was involved. He ended up with a little bit of an injury. We'll see who ends up catching passes for him there. I know Rashad Bateman is there. I have my feelings about Rashad Bateman, but I mean this offense looks unstoppable right now. This is probably one that I want to buy pieces on. And then you had Derrick Henry. Holy cow. I've got him on my team, and he dominated yesterday. 144 yards on 24 carries. Three touchdowns. He also added a 19-yard reception, which is not something that he does a whole lot of. So that was a nice little bonus in my PPR league to have that out of Derrick Henry. But I mean, he doesn't age. He's 32 years old, but he's playing like he's 22 right now, just absolutely dominant. His one touchdown up the left side. Runs over a couple defenders, gives that guy the stiff arm right at the goal line. It was like you could see it coming. A train and a car about to hit each other, and there was no way he was going to be denied a touchdown. Just absolutely dominant is Derrick Henry. It was very, very encouraging to see him as involved and as as dominant, like he's never missed a beat. ⁓ and Lamar Jackson, holy cow, 17 of 25, a touchdown. ⁓ he also had 40 yards rushing and another touchdown. I mean, he he could have probably put up a lot bigger points had that second half not seen Zay Flowers in the locker room. I I think that this Ravens offense is gonna be a lot better than I thought they were gonna be. And obviously their defense is gonna be good under Jesse Minter. They're gonna be a very, very tough team all year long. I don't know that they'll be that dominant offensively, but They looked very, very good. On the Colts side of things, you had Jonathan Taylor who got those short yardage touchdowns. He had 19 carries, 98 yards, two touchdowns, also added three catches for 23 yards. I'd like to see Jonathan Taylor a little bit more involved in the pass game, but three for 23 isn't terrible when you've already got two rushing touchdowns. He'll be just fine. He's going to be an every week start, no doubt about it. Daniel Jones looked absolutely terrible at the start. They kind of came back and made it a little bit of a game, but 19 of 31, one touchdown, one interception, only one carry. And that was my big concern with Daniel Jones is he adds a lot of value with his legs, but coming back from the injury, I didn't know how much he would be involved. ⁓ running the football, it it shows in the the stat line. He only had one carry for four yards yesterday, and that's gonna hurt his fantasy value a lot. He only had 11 points yesterday. He's just not gonna provide a ton of value with only his arm. He has to be involved with his legs. And until he is, I don't really want any part of Daniel Jones on my team. You look at Alec Pierce, who they said was going to be limited coming into the game. He played 59% of the snaps, which was pretty much what they said. ⁓ ended up with four receptions on six targets for sixty-one yards. Not a terrible day. Had he found the end zone on one of those, we would have been Okay with that. You look over at his wide receiver counterpart, ⁓ Josh Downs, two catches on four targets. Not the greatest, ⁓ but kind of what I expected out of Josh Downs. I think Alec Pierce is the guy there. ⁓ and then you look at Keenan Allen. I don't know what it is with these guys, they just don't age. Keenan Allen comes in, has six targets, six catches for 32 yards. Not the greatest yardage, but a ton of targets, ton of catches for Keenan Allen, and then Tyler Warren, kind of what we expected. Only three catches, which was a little bit of a bummer, but five targets. Only 13 yards, ⁓ but he did get that touchdown, which was helpful. Had he not gotten that touchdown, I think people would have been very, very upset about Tyler Warren and where they drafted him. Not as ⁓ upset as some other tight ends that were drafted around him, but still involved a little bit. I think it was just a game that got out of hand for the Colts and they kind of got away from their game plan a little bit. Better days ahead for this Colts offense. They've got some weapons there. I think once Alec Pierce gets fully healthy. They're going to be humming. Over to the Cleveland Browns and the Jacksonville Jaguars. It was a very, very good game for the Browns auditioning for that number one overall pick next year. They they nailed it. I mean, Deshaun Watson absolutely did his job to help them secure that number one pick. He is absolutely terrible. I don't even know what they're doing putting him out there. He looked so bad on some of those interceptions or early in the game when he threw that interception. It's just. It's mind boggling why they continue to try him out there. I don't know that Shadur Sanders is any better, but at least he's younger. I know that they're paying Deshaun Watson a lot of money to sit on the bench, but holy smokes. Deshaun Watson, 16 of 20, 2, 205, one touchdown, one interception. A lot of that came late in the game. He really struggled in the first half. Had that interception, like I talked about, early in the game. ⁓ he also had a fumble that he lost, I believe. No, he didn't lose it. I thought he did lose I thought he lost it. My apologies, Sean. Maybe you weren't as bad as I thought you were, but regardless, they just didn't look very good offensively. Now you look at the wide receivers. You had Casey Concepcion with four catches, 43 yards, no touchdowns. ⁓ the other rookie run or rookie wide receiver, Denzel Boston, two catches, had that big long touchdown, fifty nine yards on two catches there. But he did have that long touchdown grab. Isaiah Bond not involved at all. Jerry Judy was there, had two catches, 26 yards. Look at the tight end, Harold Fannon, three targets, two catches, 21 yards. That was my fear coming into this year was Harold Fannon with Deshaun Watson. We'll see. It's just one game. I'm not overreacting yet, but I don't know how good Deshaun Watson is at getting it to Harold Fannon yet. I'm a little worried about that one. And then you look at the running backs, and you had Quinchon Judkins, 12 carries, 33 yards, no touchdowns. Two catches, 17 yards. He only played 65%. Dylan Sampson, not involved at all. Then you had Raheem Sanders, who was out there for 35% of the snaps, one carry, one yard, three catches for 25 yards. I mean, it's just not a very good offense, not something that I really want a lot of stock in, but you weren't probably putting a whole lot of stock into them coming into the year. So not too surprising. On the flip side, Jacksonville offense, dynamite. Jet. Trevor Lawrence looked absolutely amazing. He was balling out in that first half. And they really put the the Browns away kind of in the first quarter. I mean, they were up 24-0 before you even realize that they kicked off. Parker Washington, five catches on six targets, 83 yards, and a touchdown. He was their best receiver by far. Brian Thomas got banged up in, I think it was in the first half. Went to the med tent with a with an injury there, but he did add three catches for 40 yards before that. Parker Washington is as advertised. I wasn't as high on Parker Washington as a lot of people were, but after seeing yesterday, I think Washington is definitely a top, probably 15 wide receiver the rest of the season. I don't want to overreact too much off of one week, but man, he looks apart for sure. Trevor Lawrence obviously looks for him. ⁓ and then you also had Jacoby Myers there, who had two catches for 40 yards and a touchdown. I think he gets a little bit of a bump up with Brian Robinson out. You also had Brenton Strange added in two catches and a touchdown there on twenty three yards. He was somebody that I was saying to pick up before week one. And I think he probably going forward is going to be one of those guys that like a Juwan Johnson. I I don't know that he has the talent of Juwan Johnson. I'm not comparing the talent, but I'm just saying he's on a comparable offense, a much better offense than the Saints, I think. But he's Just the benefit of being the tight end one on a good offense. He may be the third pass catcher in that offense. I don't know, but he's gonna benefit with some touchdown weeks like we saw yesterday. He's also gonna have some weeks where he just disappears and only gets you a handful of points. But yesterday was an okay week, especially if you're in a deeper league. I think Brenton Strange is a good ad still. And then you look over at the running back position. This is one that ⁓ was very intriguing all offseason. Was it gonna be Tootin? Was it gonna be Rodriguez? I was very much in the Tootin camp, but also always had a very bad feeling about Rodriguez and his ties with Liam Cohen. And we kind of saw that play out yesterday. ⁓ Bay Shall Tutin played 49% of the snaps. He had 66 yards on 15 carries, added one catch for 22 yards. And then you look over at Chris Rodriguez, played forty percent of the snaps, six carries, twenty-three yards. They both just kind of ate at each other's workload. I do think that Baychall Tutin is gonna be the guy going forward. Rodriguez, maybe just that familiarity with Liam Cohen right now, but I do think he's gonna get phased out a little bit more and Tutin's gonna be the more electrifying player as the year goes on. It was also a game in which the Jaguars were up big very early in the game. So I think their entire offensive game plan probably changed a little bit at that point. ⁓ Tootin is definitely the guy that I think you should own, but keep an eye on Chris Rodriguez. The Jets and the Titans, man, the Titans gave the Browns a run for their money in that number one overall pick. The Titans did not look good. Sala's first game as the Titans head coach and Brian Dayball's first coach game as the offensive coordinator did not go well. ⁓ they did not look good. And that's kind of what I expected. I I Kind of thought that we would sit everybody on that offense. Tony Pollard, I was okay starting just because he's always kind of a dirty running back too. We never really are excited to have Tony Pollard, but he puts up running back two numbers for you. ⁓ I also said to start Carnell Tate. I thought that the rookie wide receiver was going to be very, very exciting. And they kind of just ⁓ disappointed a little bit. ⁓ Cam Ward was 19 of 32 for 140 yards and a touchdown. That's not gonna get it done for you. 13 fantasy points. Look over at those running back numbers like I talked about. Tony Pollard, seven carries for thirty-five yards. He added one catch for negative one yards, four points out of Tony Pollard. Not at all what I was expecting. Tajay Spears, three carries, twelve yards, four points for him, two catches for twelve yards. Not gonna get it done. None of those guys are getting it done for you. ⁓ Nicholas Singleton wasn't even active, the rookie out of Penn State. ⁓ and then you go over to the wide receivers, like I talked about, Carnell Tate. Four catches for thirty-eight yards, pretty underwhelming. Wandell Robinson, he was five of thirty-eight for eight points. ⁓ when your quarterback only throws for a hundred and thirty-eight yards or whatever it was that I said, your your wide receivers, your pass catchers are not gonna produce. And that's what we saw yesterday. Their entire offense was just kind of hot dog poop. And there wasn't really a whole lot there. ⁓ Gunnarhelm, I know a lot of people are excited about him. He had an okay day. ⁓ four catches, twenty-eight yards, six point eight points out of a tight end. That's Really only rostered in probably less than 10% of league, you're you're probably feeling okay about that. ⁓ not a huge day, not a terrible day. ⁓ but really just ⁓ an entire offense that was not very good. Looking over to the Jets side of things, you had Geno Smith, who was 19 of 24 for 215 yards, not a whole lot better. He just kind of came in and managed the game. And that's really what Gino needs to do. Don't turn it over. Get the ball to Brees Hall, get the ball to Garrett Wilson, and good things are gonna happen. ⁓ we saw Brees Hall 102 yards on 22 carries, a touchdown. He added two catches for 16 yards. Fabulous day out of Brees Hall. I'm I'm ecstatic with that. As a Brees Hall owner in one of my leagues, I was very, very happy to find or see him find the end zone. And then his backfield mate, Braylon Allen, he had 10 carries of his own. That's probably a little bit higher than what I would expect him to get, but with that game kind of out of hand. Or in hand, ⁓ Braylon Allen got some more carries there. You look over at wide receiver one, Garrett Wilson. Six catches, 79 yards, did not find the end zone. He added with or ended with just under 14 fantasy points. That's an okay week. Had he found the end zone, it would have been a very good week from Garrett Wilson, but ⁓ kind of what I expected. He's gonna put up those wide receiver two numbers on a consistent basis throughout the year. He's gonna average out to be a wide receiver two, and he's gonna get a lot of targets. I mean, he had seven in week one. I'm good with that. If he gets up to those double digits, he's gonna produce a lot of fantasy points for you. Omar Cooper, just one catch for 30 yards. He did get banged up with an ankle sprain in that game. We'll see what happens with him, but ⁓ kind of a tough break for the Jets. And then over on the other side, Adnai Mitchell added three catches for 60 yards. But you also had the rookie tight end, ⁓ Kenyon Sadiq had three catches for twenty-one yards. He also had a three yard rushing touchdown in which he got Like, I don't even know, like 67 miles or something, miles per hour on it. No, I don't know what it was. It was like 20 miles per hour or something. I saw a stat on Twitter that he reached on that kind of end round handoff that he received. And that's pretty fast for a tight end. I don't think anybody's really doubting the athletic ability of Kenyon Sadiq. They were just kind of worried about the situation he was in. But ⁓ tight end number one, Mason Taylor caught one less pass than Sadiq. I Sadiq is the tight end to own there in the Jets offense. If you're looking to own one, he had an okay first game. I think it's really only, you know, upward from here. And then over to the Bills and the Texans, Josh Allen was absolutely dynamite in that game. ⁓ a team that he has struggled against in the past was the Texans, but Josh Allen had no problem with them yesterday, was 20 of 29, 334 yards and two touchdowns. He added 23 yards and two touchdowns with his legs. Over 40 fantasy points for Josh Allen, and he's just picking up right where he left off the quarterback one until he has proven otherwise. I don't really have a whole lot more to say about him. He's dynamite. Did take away a little bit of volume from James Cook. He was only in there for 71% of the snaps, 13 carries, 57 yards, no touchdowns, added three catches for 12 yards. Ray Davis was in there. Just had one carry for three yards in the backfield. And then you look over to the newly added wide receiver, DJ Moore. He was kind of a non-factor, ⁓ really. I mean, he had five catches, a hundred yards. The one touchdown that he had in a lot of his hundred yards were on the one broken play touchdown where he caught a long touchdown pass. He wasn't really that great in that game. He wasn't really utilized that much. I think bigger days are ahead for DJ Moore, but I I just think that the Bills and Josh Allen spread the ball around so much that I don't know that DJ Moore is ever gonna be the elite wide receiver one that a lot of people thought he was gonna be. I do think in in terms of a football mindset and actual real life football, DJ Moore is really good for this Bills team and he's gonna be good going forward. I don't know about fantasy. I think he'll probably put up wide receiver two numbers for you, but It may be a very bumpy ride. Leon Coleman was pretty much an afterthought. One catch, one yard, didn't really do a whole lot. ⁓ Khalil Shakir, he's always gonna be there. He's always got that rapport with Josh Allen. Four catches, fifty yards, kind of what you expected. But the big The big news there was Dalton Kincaid. He looked the part. He looked like the wide receiver one option there for Josh Allen or the pass catcher one. Obviously, I know he's a tight end, but he was kind of used as that top pass catcher yesterday. Six targets, five catches, a hundred and thirty yards. That's very, very encouraging to see if you are er if you are a Dalton Kincaid truther. I know there's a lot of people out there that still believe in his talent, still believe in his role. And I don't know that I'm out on it. He's just he's battled some injuries, he battled some other things with that team. And this may be the year that he finally catches on and he's a reliable tight end, one option week in and week out. On the flip side of things, CJ Stroud was okay. I mean, 26 of 38, 274, two touchdowns. I he added two runs for 15 yards. He was okay. I mean, there were there were some issues there. He had two fumbles that he lost. That's just kind of what you get with CJ Stroud. It could have been interceptions, it could be fumbles. But I think most importantly, he got the ball to Nico Collins. He had 10 targets, did Nico Collins, seven receptions, 75 yards and a touchdown. That's something that I was very worried about coming into the year was how they were going to utilize Nico Collins, but he looked really good. ⁓ David Montgomery also looked very good. 20 carries, 60 yards, two touchdowns. He got those goal line red zone carries that I was talking about all offseason. That's why he was brought into this Houston team was to help them in the red zone and he did. He dominated that role yesterday. Woody Marks got nine carries, forty two yards, played fifty one percent of the snaps, but he really didn't wow me a whole lot. I think David Montgomery is the guy to own in that in that offense. I think if Woody Marks is out there and you have a bench spot, he's probably a waiver wire pickup. He's available right now in fifty or forty three percent of leagues. I think you probably could go pick him up, but I do think Montgomery is the guy there. Over to Atlanta. Holy smokes. They were on their 12th string quarterback, Cooper Rush, and he didn't really do a whole lot. Dumped it off to B. John Robinson. Robinson had a very, very good day for my fantasy team. One of my fantasy teams had 21 carries, 83 yards. He had also added eight catches, 90 yards, and a touchdown. Bijan is he's said it and forget it. ⁓ Cooper Rush only did have those 12 completions, one touchdown, two interception. Playing the Steelers defense on the road. I mean, what did you expect out of him? Drake London, two catches, 29 yards. Again, what did you expect? I think that this whole Falcons offense is probably not going to be good with their starter in there, especially with a third stringer on the road. Kyle Pitts added absolutely nothing. ⁓ if you started him, you got skunked, zero points, one target. Throw that whole game in the in the garbage and move on. On the Steelers side of things, actually. Impressed me a little bit. You look over at Aaron Rodgers, he was 24 of 40 for 221 yards and a touchdown, 14.5 points. Really not gonna wow you in fantasy football, but in real life football, he looked pretty good. Their entire offense looked pretty good. DK Metcalf had 10 targets, which kind of surprised me a little bit, but only was able to bring in four of those for 40 yards, only scored eight points. Michael Pittman, newly acquired wide receiver, three targets, three catches. 58 yards, nothing to really write home about there. ⁓ in the tight end room, you had Pat Fryer move five catches, five targets, forty-six yards, and a touchdown. That one surprised me. ⁓ 15 points for him. And then the running back room, ⁓ Jalen Warren was kind of the guy there. He had 10 carries, 46 yards, five catches, 27 yards. I mean, we saw that with the Steelers offense last year. Aaron Aaron Rodgers just dumps it off to the running backs. That's just where he's at in his career right now. And I've talked about that over and over and over and over. He's going to dump it off to his tight ends, to his running backs. ⁓ and you look at Rico Dowdle, eight carries, 15 yards, four points for you. He he didn't do a whole lot, but he did add two more catches in for that backfield. I don't know. The Steelers offense is kind of what it is. I I have said it over and over. I don't want any part of it. And there's really not anybody there that I want. Maybe Pat Fryermouth on a bye week, or if I need a tight end flyer, I'll take a stab at. Friarmuth, but really nothing I want there in Pittsburgh. Over to the Chicago Bears and the Carolina Panthers, absolutely electric. Everybody on the Bears offense dominated. Swift had a couple touchdowns. Caleb looked amazing, had a couple touchdowns. Colson Loveland, boy, nothing. A nothing burger. Zero points. ⁓ I was so high on him, and I still am, but zero points, a dud of a performance. Luther Burden was okay. Romo Dun Roma Dunze was okay. ⁓ Menungay had a hundred yards. Swift dominated. I mean, they scored four million points. Their defense gave up almost 500 yards and they still won by 22 points. Maybe Ben Johnson is going to have the greatest offense of all time. I don't know, but they sure looked like it in week one against the Panthers. I'm not a big believer in the Panthers, but it still was impressive what they did. Over on the other side, the Panthers, Bryce Young looked really, really good. I mean, his wide receivers, McMillan and Jalen Coker, looked really good. The running back room was all Chuba Hubbard. Jonathan Brooks was kind of an afterthought, which I mean, Brooks was still banged up coming into this game. So I don't know how much of it was the injury and how much was it just actually Chuba Hubbard's backfield. We'll see going forward. Right now, Chuba is definitely RB one there in Carolina, and he looked apart. He got those goal line carries, was able to get into the end zone. And you even had Darren Waller score a touchdown for the Panthers. So, I mean, good things ahead for this Panthers offense. Potentially, they've they've got some weapons. If Bryce Young continues to play at the level he played yesterday, they're gonna be really good moving forward. Moving on to the afternoon games, you've got the Vikings and the Panthers or the Vikings and the Packers, a game in which the Packers were out big early on this game. Christian Watson had a million receiving yards. Jordan Love was looking good. The running game was Looking okay. And then they kind of flipped. And Minnesota came back in that game. Let's look at the stats really quick here. Jordan Love was 21 of 42, two touchdowns, an interception. ⁓ he did have a fumble. He was okay. Not the greatest, not the worst. Marshawn Lloyd, 13 carries, 37 yards, three points for you. ⁓ somebody that everybody wanted to get out and draft in their draft as a sneaky ⁓ pick, and it didn't really work. Chris Brooks was able to get in there. He had seven carries, 29 yards. He had 2.9 yards or 2.9 points. Really, not a whole lot out of this Packers running back room. They're going to need Josh Jacobs to not get suspended or only be suspended a few games if they want to be this full offense that they can be. I don't think either of those guys, Brooks or Lloyd, is that great that they're going to really unlock this offense. A lot of it's going to be on Jordan Love's shoulders if they want to be really, really good. And speaking of really, really good Christian Watson, like I said, six catches, 147 yards, and two touchdowns. He was absolutely electric. Jaden Reed, he had seven targets of his own, only able to bring in three of those, though, for 20 yards, kind of a bummer day for him. Matthew Golden was involved, six catches on 12 targets, 95 yards. That's really, really encouraging. He's somebody that was up and down last year. I was really high on. Didn't really produce, and I really wasn't that high on him going into this game, but ⁓ he proved to be a valuable piece of this passing offense. And then you look over at the newly extended tight end Tucker Kraft. He was coming in kind of banged up still, coming back from that injury. Six targets, three receptions, and sixty-five yards. An okay day at the office for Tucker Kraft. You look over on the Minnesota Vikings side, Kyler Murray gets banged up with a concussion early in that game. Carson Wentz comes in and leads them to glory. Wentz goes in. He goes 12 of 19 for three touchdowns. He looked the part. He looked really, really good, ⁓ throwing it to Justin Jefferson, who ended up with eight catches for 92 yards and two touchdowns. A really, really good day for Justin Jefferson. That was very encouraging to see. ⁓ Jordan Addison, zero catches on two targets. That was not very encouraging to see at all. Juwan Jennings also no catches, one target. But TJ Hawkinson did have four catches, thirty-six yards, and a touchdown. He was somebody that I said to add before week one as well. And I think good days like that are ahead for TJ Hawkinson. He has kind of slept on, kind of forgotten about in the tight end world. ⁓ if you need a tight end, look for Hawkinson. Currently only owned in 42% of leagues, could be a good pickup going forward, especially with Carson Wentz in there at quarterback. On the running back side of things, Aaron Jones was out there quite a bit early and often, 12 carries, 40 yards, and a touchdown, ended up with 10 points. And then my guy, Jordan Mason, ⁓ ended up with 15 carries, 59 yards, and a touchdown. He got a lot of carries later in the game as they were kind of running away with things. That was a lot more of a 50-50 split than I was expecting in that game. ⁓ we'll see. I really thought Jordan Mason was gonna run away with that job, and maybe he will as the year goes on, but keep an eye on that. Miami in Las Vegas. ⁓ Vegas was kind of what we expected. You had Ashton Genty, 102 yards on 23 carries, did not find the end zone on the ground, but he did add six catches for 45 yards in two touchdowns. Looked apart, is the part. I mean, he's very, very good. Kirk Cousins, 21 of 30 for 160 yards, three touchdowns, did throw two interceptions, though, but they still got the win, so nobody really cares. Mike Washington on the ground did add 41 yards on seven carries. ⁓ and then you look over at the pass catchers for the Raiders. Jalen Naylor, three catches, twenty-seven yards. Trey Tucker, two catches, twenty-seven yards. Jack Besh, three catches on 20, or yes, three catches, 23 yards, and a touchdown. ⁓ and then you go over to the To the tight end room, Michael Mayer. He had six catches, thirty-two yards, and Michael Mayer is somebody that is still only owned in thirty-seven percent of leagues. Keep an eye on the Bowers injury news this week and pick up Mayer. If you're in a deeper league, you have some extra bench spots. Definitely need to own Michael Mayer. Who knows what this Bowers injury is going to look like going forward this year? Does he get re injured? Does he come back right away? What does it look like? They just paid Michael Mayer big time money, so they They definitely want to use him. They definitely want to use a lot of 12 personnel. Mayor's going to be on the field. I think he definitely needs to be owned in more than 37%. Over to the Dolphins side of things, Malik Willis. He didn't look great, but he didn't look terrible. He looked good enough, I think, in what I saw to warrant that he needs to be picked up. He needs to be owned. He was 15 of 27, an interception, but he did add 39 yards on the ground with his legs and a touchdown. And that's the floor that we've talked about all the time. If he gets the passing game going, that floor that he has with his rushing is really gonna elevate him into that serious ⁓ quarterback one discussion. I think that he will get it going. I mean, he had some he has some young wide receivers out there. It's not gonna look perfect in week one. They're gonna be trailing in a lot of games. They are gonna be throwing a lot, and Malik Willis is gonna add a lot of value with his legs. Talk about not adding value with your legs, Devon H. And 36 yards on 11 carries. He did catch four cat four passes for 30 yards. And that was one that I was a little worried about coming into this year is Devon A-chan. I just think that this Dolphins offense is not going to be very good. And where he was getting drafted at was way too high for where I was comfortable taking him. I would love to tell you that better days are ahead for Devon Achan, but if you can't do it against the Raiders, I'm not really sure where you're going to do it. Still love the talent, and he could obviously break out. At any any point this season, any game, but it could be tough sledding for Devon Achan. Look over at those young wide receivers I talked about, Malik Washington, three catches on eight targets, 53 yards. Caleb Douglas was really good, five catches, 94 yards. And then you look at Chris Bell, the other rookie wide receiver that people are very excited on. Only one catch, 25 yards. I think better days are ahead for this Dolphins offense. They're gonna learn as the season goes, they're gonna get a lot better. And I think they're gonna be very exciting going forward. Talk about the biggest upset in the NFL this week, probably. ⁓ the Arizona Cardinals and the Los Angeles Chargers. That was a game that the Chargers looked like they are running a new offense, looked very lost. Lad McConkey was ⁓ dominating early in the game before he goes out with that injury. Quentin Johnston, he was not really effective. Not really used like I thought he was gonna be. Ends up with just two catches on six targets for 17 yards. ⁓ Justin Herbert was not very good in this game. 17 of 27, one touchdown, one interception, 209 yards, and only added 29 yards with his legs. ⁓ he just didn't look fully there. This entire Chargers team did not look fully there. They looked like a team that thought they were gonna go into Arizona. Or go into the game against Arizona and just roll them. And it didn't happen. ⁓ you look at O'Marian Hampton, 12 carries, 43 yards, and a touchdown. He was okay. He was saved by that touchdown, but really eight points is not gonna do it for you. You need more production. He did not have a single target in the pass game. And without the passing game usage, Omarion Hampton is gonna really struggle to put up points. He's somebody that I was super high on this year. And obviously, this entire Chargers offense I've talked about over and over again. I took the bait and I really, really hope I didn't get burned on that. I think better days are ahead with this Chargers team. They just feel like a team that's gonna kind of grind out some ugly wins early in the year, and then by like November, they're gonna be rolling and putting up a lot of points. It's just how I feel like Jim Harbaugh's team's always Turn out to be. They they look really ugly at the beginning of the year, and then they kind of turn it on as the year goes on. ⁓ Keaton Mitchell, four carries, nine yards, really nothing to see there. You had Trey Harris come in with three catches, 20 yards once Lad McConkey was hurt. ⁓ but then the the tight end route, David Njoku kind of led that team or led that unit. He had five catches on five targets, 58 yards. I still don't know that I would trust him fully. tight end room and any Jim Harbaugh team is gonna be kind of a hodgepodge. Charlie Kohler didn't get involved at all. Aronde Gadston had two catches for 32 yards. Like I don't know. I think that that's one for the Chargers that you just kind of throw out the window. You don't really look too much into because I think better days are ahead for them for sure. Over on the Arizona side you had Jacoby Brissett 37 pass attempts, 27 completions, 277 yards and a touchdown. He looked Okay, he looked pretty good. ⁓ you had Jeremiah Love played 43% of the snaps, 11 carries, 41 yards. He did get into the end zone. You've also got Tyler Algier, 61 yards on 17, but he was kind of the lead back, and that's what we were waiting to see how that would all shake out. Obviously, Algier got more carries in this game, more playing time, more snaps. We'll see if that evens out more or if love takes the role a little bit more. But right now, Tyler Algier appears to be RB1. Over on the receiver side of things, Marvin Harrison Jr. Holy smokes, dude. Come on, let's go. One catch on three targets, 33 yard catch. I mean, saved his day. I mean, it still was a dud, but at least it was a four point day instead of a zero point day. I don't know. I I'm out of words for Marvin Harrison Jr. I've tried to buy in on him, I've tried to hype him up so much. It's just not happening. Michael Wilson, five catches, fifty six yards on seven targets. Like they just paid him a lot of money. I choose to just look at where the money is right now. And they just paid Michael Wilson a lot of money. Obviously, Marv's still on that rookie contract, but he hasn't produced. He hasn't done anything to deserve that extension or to deserve a bigger payday. So I guess right now Michael Wilson needs to be treated as the wide receiver one in Arizona until we are proven otherwise. And then you look over Kendrick Bourne. I mean, even Kendrick Bourne had eight targets, eight catches, seventy five yards, like what What do we got to do here, Marf? What I know that you're getting different coverages, but we gotta get him the ball if he's as highly touted as he once was believed to be. And then you look at the tight end position, Trey McBride is what he is. I mean, 13 targets, nine catches, ninety-five yards, and a touchdown. What can you say about the guy? He's an absolute stud, and they're not gonna use him any less than they previously were. I thought maybe he would come back to to earth a little bit in the target department. Why? Why would they? He is so freaking good. Just keep throwing him the ball. He is dynamite and it obviously worked. It got him the win. Over to the Commanders and Eagles later in the day. We had Jaden Daniels, was 18 of 34 for two touchdowns. He looked all right. Kind of a slow start, but got it going. Jakori Krosky Mara is the RB1 there, without a doubt. 16 carries, 63 yards, and a touchdown. I mean, Rashad White was involved a little bit, but really seven carries, 22 yards. Like Bill, Bill is the guy for sure. Terry McLaurin. Kind of a dud day, two catches for 14 yards. I don't know what to say about that. He's still going to be wide receiver one. He'll be fine. Better days ahead for Terry. Stefan Diggs, though, did look very good. Nine targets, four catches, 55 yards and a touchdown. And then the the rookie wide receiver Antonio Williams had four catches, 64 yards and a touchdown. Looked very, very good. 16 plus points in ⁓ PPR league. Chicaconquo got banged up ⁓ with a hamstring injury. He did add two catches for 16 yards before that point, though. ⁓ and then you look over on the other side of things and an Eagles offense that I have been very, very outspoken about their passing work and what they could be. Jalen Hurts goes out and throws for 200 yards on 14 completions for three touchdowns. I still don't know that I changed my opinion. I don't think that the commanders are that great of a team, and I just think that. You know, that was a product of that game. Jalen Hurts really only completed four passes. Three of those went to Devontae Smith for 53 yards. And a touchdown. Dallas Goddard, five targets, four catches, two touchdowns, 77 yards. Like Dallas Goddard definitely bailed them out in the passing game. Saquon Barkley really didn't have a great game either. Fifteen, fifteen carries, 83 yards, did not find the end zone. It's gonna hard for Saquon to ⁓ return on his value of where he was drafted if he's not getting in the end zone yesterday. Didn't get in the end zone, had nine points in a PPR league. ⁓ he only had one catch. Hertz is gonna take off and run a lot, unless they're designing screen passes off to Barkley. It's gonna be really hard for him to return on value. And then going to the Nightcap, a game between the Cowboys and the Giants, a very, very exciting game. The Giants offense looked Absolutely unstoppable. Jackson Dart was 23 of 29, three touchdowns. Two of those went to Isaiah Likely, who I've been pounding the drum for all summer. He was absolutely incredible. Cam Scatabo was great. Devin Singletary got involved. He looked good. ⁓ Malik Neighbors coming off from that injury. He looked good, even though he wasn't even sure if he was gonna play. He got involved in that game. ⁓ let's see. Malik Neighbors had six catches for 69 yards, 12.9 PPR points. Pretty good day at the office for the Giants. You look over on the other side of things, and I'm not panicking yet on this Cowboys offense. Dak Prescott, 22 of 34, 18 points in fantasy, had two touchdowns, one interception. I mean, last year, Dak in week one was really bad, and the Cowboys were pretty bad. And you saw how that turned out the rest of the year. So don't panic if you have these Cowboys players. Javante Williams was 12 for 41 and a touchdown. He also added five catches for 31 yards and a touchdown. That helped his day. He ended up with 24 PPR points. Look over at CeeDee Lamb, five catches, 44 yards and a touchdown. His one touchdown was a one-yard receiving touchdown. So he had like eight points at at the half, which was kind of a dud, but ends up with 15 points in the PPR. George Pickens, very disappointing day. Three of six ⁓ for 28 yards, no touchdowns, just five points in PPR. You look over at the tight end room and you've got Jake Ferguson, two catches, six yards, 2.6 points. Better days ahead for the Giants or for the Cowboys. I don't really have anything else to say about that. They'll be fine. I'm looking forward to a good game tonight against the Broncos and the Chiefs. You know, obviously, if I had to pick, I'm I'm gonna say the Chiefs are gonna win. I think Mahomes will probably throw, let's say he'll throw two touchdowns tonight. Ken Walker's gonna run one in. I think Ken Walker has probably 80 yards. He also probably adds, let's say, 60 yards in the receiving game. And then on the other side, I think Waddle probably has 10 targets, seven catches, 70 yards, and a touchdown. I think that JK Dobbins runs one in, and I think Bo Knicks runs one in. I think the Chiefs win a close game at the buzzer, probably by a Butker field goal as time expires. That's my prediction. Let me know down in the comments if you're still here, still watching, and what you think the score's gonna be tonight. I will catch you guys on the next one. See ya.
