- 0:00Speaker 1: Thanksgiving was good. Uneventful.
- 0:03Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean the most exciting thing about my Thanksgiving
- 0:07was I decided to So I had this seventeen pound turkey.
- 0:11It's a big turkey, it is, And so I dry
- 0:15brined it, which means you've just essentially you put salt in,
- 0:19some herbs and stuff all over the skin, under the
- 0:23skin a little bit, and put it in the refrigerator uncovered.
- 0:27Speaker 1: It makes it crispy, which is really it.
- 0:30Speaker 2: But you have to look at it every time you
- 0:33open the giant hunk naked turkey there. But then I
- 0:41was kept reading about this way to cook it where
- 0:44it says it sounds weird, but just coat it with mayonnaise,
- 0:50And I'm okay. Then, you know, somebody said in article
- 0:54I was reading, says, you've you've already discovered that if
- 0:57you use mayonnaise on the outside of your grilled sandwiches,
- 1:01that works really well. Right, The mayonnaise will go away,
- 1:04It will just make the turkey brown. And so I
- 1:08put some herbs and like thyme and rosemary and mixed
- 1:13it some mayonnaise and slathered it across the turkey and
- 1:17stuck it in the oven.
- 1:19Speaker 1: Worked, are you gonna do it again, Probably it was.
- 1:22It was, it was.
- 1:24Speaker 2: It looked really weird. I don't think I took a
- 1:27picture of it. I should have, but it turned out
- 1:30it was delicious, moist and flavorful. And that was the
- 1:35most exciting thing that happened.
- 1:36Speaker 1: Besides did you have oh.
- 1:38Speaker 2: The typical you know, we had Brussels sprouts and stuffing,
- 1:43except not stuffing, dressing.
- 1:44Speaker 1: Because you call it stuff.
- 1:46Speaker 2: Yeah, you should call it dressing if you're not stuffing it.
- 1:49My mother always did it, and my grandmother always stuffed
- 1:53the cavity of the bird with.
- 1:55Speaker 3: It doesn't get cooked enough that way.
- 1:57Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, she'd always end up putting putting it and
- 2:00putting in a pan and brainy. But it did have
- 2:04a good flavor. But yeah, and I had cram Oh
- 2:09we did. I think we didn't have any cranberry.
- 2:12Speaker 3: How do you not have cranberry?
- 2:14Speaker 1: Not sure, but we but we did have cranberry. We
- 2:17did have some.
- 2:18Speaker 2: Uh some uh some like jam that was close to
- 2:22cranberry jelly.
- 2:24Speaker 3: So we were doing Thanksgiving up at the tree Farm,
- 2:28and Joe's went up two days ahead to start prepping
- 2:32the food because he cooks the entire meal. We don't
- 2:35like have like people bring sides to he cooks the
- 2:39whole thing, and so he's up there getting ready.
- 2:43Speaker 1: Did you invite anybody?
- 2:44Speaker 3: We had my mother in law and my brother and
- 2:48sister in law and their kids.
- 2:50Speaker 1: Gina's in charge of buying the roles. I did.
- 2:53Speaker 3: I went over to Vosn's because they got the best
- 2:56rolls over there, and there was a line out the door,
- 2:59people picking up their Thanksgiving roles at Motions. Oh, that
- 3:04was my job for you and so so Thanksgiving it
- 3:08was great.
- 3:09Speaker 1: It was delicious.
- 3:10Speaker 3: Joe also dry brains his turkey. It was fantastic. But
- 3:14our our farmhouse has limitations. And the limitations are due
- 3:19to the septic tank that is old and we have
- 3:23been told needs to be replaced, but also told, well
- 3:26maybe we can get through another. No, no, we can't.
- 3:30Speaker 1: What happened, Well, when who took the last who took
- 3:35the last shot at it?
- 3:36Speaker 4: It was me and I said, please, please don't go
- 3:39in there, please please nobody, please, no, please don't, And
- 3:46it just starts coming up in all of the toilets
- 3:49and there's gurgling, and.
- 3:52Speaker 1: Isn't there isn't there a filling station nearby in.
- 3:56Speaker 3: The bathroom.
- 3:59Speaker 1: Down to the gas.
- 4:00Speaker 3: So luckily dinner was done. This did not ruin the meal,
- 4:05but we had planned on staying up there all weekend,
- 4:09and it ruined that because we need the facility.
- 4:14Speaker 1: Let's just leave the gurgling toilets here and go home.
- 4:16Speaker 2: Septics or now did you put the you put the
- 4:19carry you put the carry gold butter in the camel.
- 4:21Speaker 3: But yes, Joe said, it's a special occasion. We can
- 4:25we can have the good salted butter.
- 4:27Speaker 1: It's a special occasion. Honey. Now, don't expect this at all.
- 4:30Speaker 3: No, then you won't appreciate it.
- 4:35Speaker 1: I don't get that. Did you appreciate it? I did
- 4:38appreciate it.
- 4:39Speaker 3: Put it on the Vosn's roll.
- 4:42Speaker 1: Yeah, but only only up at the farmhouse, only on
- 4:46special occasions. I don't don't under makes absolutely zero sense.
- 4:52Speaker 3: But and we had pie for breakfast. Did you guys
- 4:54have pie for breakfast?
- 4:55Speaker 1: That's acceptable?
- 4:57Speaker 2: Well?
- 4:57Speaker 1: I did?
- 4:58Speaker 5: Yeah, No, we we just we we had a traditional
- 5:03you know, soup made it.
- 5:03Speaker 1: It was delicious.
- 5:05Speaker 5: Cook a turkey, No, there's chicken chicken. We do a
- 5:07roast chicken because we don't need that much.
- 5:10Speaker 1: We did a turkey breast. A few days later.
- 5:13Speaker 5: Oh, and I wound up putting it in what we
- 5:17called leftover soup, which was soup made of all the
- 5:20leftovern It was delicious.
- 5:23Speaker 3: Not a bad idea.
- 5:24Speaker 5: Yes, And sandwiches, We're still having sandwiches.
- 5:28Speaker 3: M And you had pie, what kind of pie?
- 5:31Speaker 1: Had some key lime right now? You purchased the pies Harmon's.
- 5:36Speaker 5: And also had a bit of a like a chocolate cookie.

- 5:44Speaker 1: Some carrot cake.
