- 0:01SPEAKER_00: Have the audacity to be the North Star, not the Traveler.
- 0:10SPEAKER_00: Welcome to the Wild Woman Within.
- 0:12SPEAKER_00: For fiercely independent corporate women who are damn good at managing everything and burn out from trying to.
- 0:19SPEAKER_00: Your spiritual practices and ancient wisdom, you'll reconnect with your feminine energy, recover from burnout, and achieve true work-life balance.
- 0:27SPEAKER_00: So you can support it, affiliate, and wild mystery without sacrificing your attention.
- 0:37SPEAKER_00: Today I'm showing you how to use ancient wisdom and modern spiritual practices to become North Star Spirit.
- 0:46SPEAKER_00: We're exploring the talent philosophy of Wu Wei and the art of non-forcing, and how releasing control can actually make you a stronger leader, a more present partner, and a woman who finally has room to receive.
- 1:03SPEAKER_00: So let's get into it.
- 1:04SPEAKER_00: What if doing less actually made you a better leader?
- 1:08SPEAKER_00: Earlier this week, we talked about resilience and how becoming or being a woman that can solve problems, navigate challenges, can figure things out is actually a pretty incredible strength.
- 1:21SPEAKER_00: What happens when being the person who can solve every problem becomes the reason nobody else gets the opportunity to?
- 1:28SPEAKER_00: There's some balance here that we're creating.
- 1:33SPEAKER_00: We see it.
- 1:33SPEAKER_00: And listen, I get it.
- 1:36SPEAKER_00: I get it.
- 1:37SPEAKER_00: Sometimes it's just faster to do it yourself.
- 1:39SPEAKER_00: You know exactly what needs to happen.
- 1:41SPEAKER_00: So you just jump in and you do it.
- 1:44SPEAKER_00: But this is where today's Wing Shin wisdom of Wu Wei, the Taoist philosophy, gets to come in.
- 1:52SPEAKER_00: It's often translated as effortless action or non-forcing Wu Wei.
- 1:59SPEAKER_00: And before you think I'm going to tell you to go sit on top of a mountain and let the universe handle everything, that is not what I'm talking about.
- 2:05SPEAKER_00: So scratch that idea because Wu Wei doesn't mean doing nothing, it's learning how to act without a necessary force.
- 2:13SPEAKER_00: Let's think about water, for example.
- 2:15SPEAKER_00: Water doesn't fight every obstacle in its path.
- 2:18SPEAKER_00: Sometimes water flows around it, sometimes it flows through it.
- 2:23SPEAKER_00: And over time, water can shape entire landscapes and change and transform.
- 2:32SPEAKER_00: Because water isn't constantly forcing its way forward, it's responding to the conditions around it.
- 2:39SPEAKER_00: It's a response.
- 2:41SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 2:42SPEAKER_00: So think about how often we do the opposite of that.
- 2:48SPEAKER_00: Something doesn't go according to plan, so we push harder.
- 2:52SPEAKER_00: We force.
- 2:54SPEAKER_00: Someone isn't doing something that the same way that we would, we would just take over.
- 2:59SPEAKER_00: We anticipate every single possible problem and try to manage the outcome before anything else ever happens.
- 3:08SPEAKER_00: And sometimes that that works, right?
- 3:10SPEAKER_00: Like our brains, they work in patterns anyway.
- 3:13SPEAKER_00: They they foresee and forhear things before things are ever done andor said.
- 3:20SPEAKER_00: Sometimes what we're actually ended up doing is creating more resistance than the original problem ever required.
- 3:28SPEAKER_00: Because what if the next right action doesn't require more force?
- 3:32SPEAKER_00: It requires this awareness, more trust, more willingness to allow something to unfold without immediately interfering.
- 3:42SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that's where I see such a beautiful connection between the masculine and feminine energies.
- 3:48SPEAKER_00: And I'm so excited to talk about this all the time because masculine feminine energy, it's not both that man versus woman idea.
- 3:58SPEAKER_00: It's complementary qualities, masculine, feminine.
- 4:02SPEAKER_00: It's giving us the structure and also creativity.
- 4:06SPEAKER_00: It's direction and receptivity, it's discipline and intuition, it's that ability to take action and also the ability to be adaptive.
- 4:17SPEAKER_00: And when those qualities they work together, that yin and yang, something beautiful happens.
- 4:23SPEAKER_00: You create wholeness, you establish the clear direction without ever dictating ownership, right?
- 4:32SPEAKER_00: You hold the vision without insisting that you're the only person that can see it through.
- 4:39SPEAKER_00: And that's what I mean when I say be the North Star, not the traveler.
- 4:45SPEAKER_00: Because think about it, the North Star, it doesn't chase travelers across the sky.
- 4:52SPEAKER_00: It doesn't come down and walk the journey for them.
- 4:56SPEAKER_00: No, it provides direction.
- 4:59SPEAKER_00: And isn't that what great leadership is supposed to do?
- 5:03SPEAKER_00: Create opportunities for other people to grow.
- 5:06SPEAKER_00: Because sometimes the most valuable thing you can do for another person isn't to solve their problems.
- 5:13SPEAKER_00: And I don't mean that just in corporate America, I mean that in familial situations, friendships, relationships in general.
- 5:24SPEAKER_00: You know, it's creating the conditions where people can discover what they're capable of.
- 5:29SPEAKER_00: These practices they can apply all over your life.
- 5:34SPEAKER_00: And here's the thing is the practice itself is to pause, to guide, and release.
- 5:44SPEAKER_00: That's how we actually practice Wu Wei.
- 5:49SPEAKER_00: And it's an art.
- 5:55SPEAKER_00: And you notice your body and you really go from there, you ask yourself, is this something that requires my attention or am I just uncomfortable with allowing someone else to handle it?
- 6:12SPEAKER_00: Because those are two different things, right?
- 6:15SPEAKER_00: And and both are very needed in in discovery and being part of this awareness activity with all situations that this situation brings itself to.
- 6:27SPEAKER_00: Sometimes the situation genuinely needs you and you go.
- 6:35SPEAKER_00: And there's a critical decision that needs to be made.
- 6:38SPEAKER_00: Sometimes there's no actual emergency at all.
- 6:41SPEAKER_00: There's just discomfort of your own uncertainty.
- 6:47SPEAKER_00: And that's your opportunity to practice something different.
- 6:50SPEAKER_00: That's where you get to have the audacity to be the North Star, not the traveler.
- 6:58SPEAKER_00: So you get to guide without taking over.
- 7:01SPEAKER_00: Bring in the feminine, let them contribute, let them own it.
- 7:06SPEAKER_00: Let them show up.
- 7:08SPEAKER_00: You know, and then you get to release this outcome and trust your resilience.
- 7:13SPEAKER_00: Because now this is probably my favorite part.
- 7:19SPEAKER_00: And it brings us back to the previous conversation where we've spent years building resilience, right?
- 7:27SPEAKER_00: Proving to ourselves that we can handle difficult things and we get the evidence, we've navigated hard seasons, we've solved problems, and maybe it's knowing whatever unfolds, you can trust yourself to respond.
- 7:41SPEAKER_00: Because there's something incredibly freeing about you not having to predict every single problem and or eliminate every risk.
- 7:56SPEAKER_00: There's something incredibly freeing where you get to establish your own healthy boundaries and thoughtful decisions and allow life to happen.
- 8:19SPEAKER_00: Sometimes that power looks like opening your hands and allowing someone else to step forward.
- 8:28SPEAKER_00: And that's a balance between the masculine and the feminine.
- 8:34SPEAKER_00: It's not replacing one another.
- 8:37SPEAKER_00: No, it's literally just working together.
- 8:41SPEAKER_00: Be the North Star, not the traveler.
- 8:47SPEAKER_00: You get to choose one situation this week.
- 8:52SPEAKER_00: And the one situation where you know you've been a traveler for someone else.
- 8:58SPEAKER_00: And it maybe it's a project at work or household responsibility, it doesn't matter.
- 9:07SPEAKER_00: And practice these three things.
- 9:10SPEAKER_00: Pause, guide and then release.
- 9:15SPEAKER_00: Give someone else the opportunity to lead.
- 9:18SPEAKER_00: And trust yourself to respond if something genuinely needs your attention.
- 9:27SPEAKER_00: Because when you think about it, you feel that urge to take over.
- 9:32SPEAKER_00: I want you to remember something.
- 9:35SPEAKER_00: You've already proven you can do hard things.
- 9:38SPEAKER_00: You've already built resilience.
- 9:42SPEAKER_00: You've already demonstrated that you're capable.
- 9:47SPEAKER_00: Now give yourself permission to discover what happens when you don't have to do everything yourself.
- 9:56SPEAKER_00: Because sometimes the feminine isn't asking you to stop leading, it's asking you to become the North Star instead of the traveler.
- 10:07SPEAKER_00: And that, my friend, is the audacity to live in your algorithm.
- 10:13SPEAKER_00: You're ready to stop managing every damn thing and start creating a life that builds as good as it will.
- 10:19SPEAKER_00: Hello, the well woman again.
- 10:22SPEAKER_00: Because every Tuesday we're breaking down the cake, tearing down the fall, and every Thursday, we're bringing up wisdom to real life.
- 10:35SPEAKER_00: No woman needs to now enter this episode.
- 10:41SPEAKER_00: We're all bald enough to be free and wise enough to read.
