- 0:00Coming up on this episode of The Spiro podcast.
- 0:04we got together as a team.
- 0:05When we feel this is the most important thing
- 0:07that you all can do to build your business.
- 0:24Hi and welcome to the Spiro Podcast.
- 0:26Managing your real estate, photography and videography business.
- 0:30Spiro is a software platform designed to help you run your day to day
- 0:34real estate media business and ultimately help it grow and to help it scale.
- 0:38And we just want to welcome you back to another week.
- 0:41I'm Craig Magrum, host of the podcast and with me each and most every week.
- 0:46Todd Kivimaki, owner of Spiro and
- 0:49welcome back, Todd.
- 0:51you as well, Craig.
- 0:52We made it back from Vegas to planes all lined up, right?
- 0:56Yeah.
- 0:56So everything, it was great
- 0:57that the workers were still there and TSA, but it was a fabulous time.
- 1:01We're going to jump into that now, but. Or in this podcast.
- 1:04But it is good to be back on with you.
- 1:06Was great to see so many of you in person.
- 1:09I just it was a time in my life, it
- 1:12I, I had a great time in Vegas, not because of Vegas,
- 1:15but because of those of you that were at the repp conference.
- 1:20Yeah. We just we want to say thank you.
- 1:22People were so kind. Todd.
- 1:24Yes. Just very, very, very kind.
- 1:26But before we jump in, to we're going to do a kind of
- 1:30a REPP 2025 recap episode.
- 1:35Both. Todd and I’s
- 1:36thoughts and,
- 1:36and your thoughts as well, those of you that we were able to talk to.
- 1:39But before we do that, do you have any, updates or,
- 1:43announcements for Spiro or the industry in general?
- 1:47Yeah.
- 1:48So I want to give you just a little bit of information here.
- 1:50Towards the end of this month or maybe very beginning of December,
- 1:54we are going to launch new updates for you,
- 1:57and that will include, our CRM features.
- 2:00So we were able to debut our commercial at REPP.
- 2:04And one of the new things we're bringing to you, just on the heels
- 2:07of another new thing being Titus, is the first features of the CRM.
- 2:13Now, a question I got asked from a lot of you is how much will it cost
- 2:17and what will it be?
- 2:19I want to take two minutes here to tell you and to answer those questions.
- 2:23Number one, what we will launch in this next
- 2:26sprint will not be any additional cost to you.
- 2:30Okay.
- 2:30We are building these features so that you can focus on
- 2:34actions that actually move your business forward.
- 2:38Okay.
- 2:39You have to
- 2:40take actions if that's growth and that is going to come in
- 2:44a redefinition and re-engineering of your agent grid.
- 2:48Remember these are the people that you serve that you sell to.
- 2:52And we are going to give you this incredibly flexible grid
- 2:55where you can change the columns
- 2:57of whatever you want so that you can see data that's relevant.
- 3:00And we're going to give you a tremendous amount of more columns of data.
- 3:06So do you want to call your highest paying clients highest revenue
- 3:11generating clients great add in revenue all time.
- 3:15Do you want to call new clients?
- 3:16Add in that column.
- 3:18Do you want to know who your star was this quarter?
- 3:20Revenue? This quarter average order value.
- 3:23You will have all of that.
- 3:24And the other thing that you'll have is you'll have the brains at Wow.
- 3:28What we do, we are going to Predefine filters for you.
- 3:32So you want to take our 21, almost 22 years of experience
- 3:36and do new client calls, do client day of delivery calls, do VIP calls.
- 3:41Just click the filter.
- 3:43We're going to have a lot of educational material for you,
- 3:46but we want to focus on the client grid.
- 3:48We're going to give you the ability to set future follow up dates.
- 3:52And this is going to be the first
- 3:54This is the this is the thing that we feel we got together as a team.
- 3:56This is the this is the thing that we feel we got together as a team.
- 3:57When we feel this is the most important thing
- 3:59that you all can do to build your business.
- 4:02If that's revenue, many of you, that's revenue. Okay.
- 4:05We coach some of you in orbit and maybe it's fixed
- 4:081 or 2 things and it always goes back to revenue.
- 4:11And that is what drives your business.
- 4:13That's what has driven Wow.
- 4:15And we want you to have these tools.
- 4:17So lots more education.
- 4:19But the thing is is that's what you'll get
- 4:21and you're not going to pay anything more.
- 4:23So good news there.
- 4:25That's awesome. Incredible.
- 4:28You know and excited.
- 4:28Just the community is so generous to us.
- 4:31Like it's like we wanted to do this.
- 4:33And could we charge for it? Yes.
- 4:35We could charge for and would you get value out of it?
- 4:38Yes, you would get value out of it.
- 4:40But I want to give value first.
- 4:41I want you all to grow your business.
- 4:43in Spiro, you all have taken such good care of me.
- 4:46I know you will continue to do it.
- 4:47I want to continue to give to you.
- 4:49So that's our goal. Very cool.
- 4:52The the second thing put 45 seconds on the shot clock for me.
- 4:56I want to talk about Titus.
- 4:59Titus is our pay at close option.
- 5:01It launched, a little over about a month ago.
- 5:04And I want to give you some stats.
- 5:06We looked at pay at close versus pay now.
- 5:10So when an agent has to pay now or on download versus
- 5:14when they can pay it, close the transactions.
- 5:17Average order value pay at close is 40% higher.
- 5:2540% higher than pay.
- 5:27Now that's incredible.
- 5:30Yeah I, I agree Craig I think it's incredible in
- 5:32my mind is really shifting and has been shifting around this.
- 5:36So if you're saying hey my agents don't want that, will all of your agents use it?
- 5:40No they won't, but will you be able to help serve agents
- 5:43better who only have a limited amount of money right now?
- 5:48Maybe they just got three new listings.
- 5:50We had a story of a, user who?
- 5:53Their agent got six new listings, and she was like, hey,
- 5:57this Titus is incredible because I really I could not have marketed
- 6:01the listings to the level that I want to if I didn't have Titus know.
- 6:07That's awesome.
- 6:08Six six listings in, like, a condensed space of time.
- 6:12Like one.
- 6:12I don't know if it was a builder or what it was,
- 6:14but yeah, six came in and in a matter of a small amount of time.
- 6:18And when those agents get listings, remember they pay money right there.
- 6:23It's not like they get a check right away.
- 6:25They have to pay out a lot of money.
- 6:26that can be nerve wracking
- 6:28if you're nervous to spend money.
- 6:29I mean, we all know we have to spend money to make money, but
- 6:33that can really tie things up. So okay.
- 6:35Very cool for sure.
- 6:37I mean, agents carry five times the credit card
- 6:40balance as a normal consumer.
- 6:43Five times. Yeah.
- 6:45I remember when we got our first $35,000 credit card bill, I was like 30
- 6:50and and we didn't, but it's not like we bought like, we just covered expenses.
- 6:54Like, it can be shocking.
- 6:55I hear these stories from you.
- 6:56Like building a business takes money.
- 7:00And and, you have a solution for your agents for Titus.
- 7:04Perfect.
- 7:05Lastly, I want to mention,
- 7:09autoHDR, and Matt was at the conference.
- 7:12He's going to be at PMRE, which you'll probably
- 7:15if you're there right now, we're there as well.
- 7:17Matt will be there.
- 7:19I just want to say that if you've looked
- 7:22at autoHDR in the past and it wasn't,
- 7:27it didn't tick all the boxes.
- 7:28I'm just asking you to look again.
- 7:30I think Matt is an incredible partner for the real estate industry.
- 7:34We use it full time at Wow.
- 7:36We'll send about 750,000 images.
- 7:40Our team could not be happier.
- 7:42The new model he just put out is just incredible and he is giving back.
- 7:47He's created this playbook of how to use AI, how you can grow your business
- 7:51with SOPs, AI, avatars, content.
- 7:55What he is doing for the community is fabulous.
- 7:57I just wanted to give him
- 7:58a shout out here on the podcast, because he is working very hard
- 8:01behind the scenes, and his business has been going for less than a year.
- 8:05We we met him in Vegas last year.
- 8:07He showed me on his cell phone a few of the images.
- 8:11So it's crazy what he's done. In less than a year.
- 8:13And if you just have kind of said, well, AI editing is not for me.
- 8:17I'm just asking you to look at it again,
- 8:18because the new version that they just put out,
- 8:21I think you owe you owe it to yourself and your clients to look at that model.
- 8:27Yeah, I think I've seen 2 or 3 posts
- 8:31in various Facebook groups, real estate media, Facebook groups
- 8:35looking at, re re reviewing
- 8:38auto HDR and comparing it to another competitor.
- 8:41I'm not going to say what their name is, that they had been,
- 8:46more leaning towards the competitor
- 8:49and now saying, I've done a side by side and I can't believe
- 8:52how far autoHDR has come.
- 8:54And it's now my preference,
- 8:56like 2 or 3 of those posts just in the last week I've seen.
- 9:00Yeah.
- 9:01And that's the power of having someone in the industry create
- 9:04something for you, right?
- 9:06Yeah.
- 9:06I think that's our unique advantage at Spiro is that we flex Spiro
- 9:11as hard as possible every day at our media company,
- 9:14and we think about how we can continue to make it better.
- 9:17Matt does the same thing.
- 9:18He's got a very high end business on the East Coast, and,
- 9:22he's, he's he's not even work that he's SOP’d.
- 9:25Optimize it. He has someone that runs it.
- 9:28He still thinks like a business owner on what his business needs. So
- 9:32perfect.
- 9:33All right.
- 9:34And Titus and Auto HDR are completely, fully integrated in Spiro.
- 9:38So we're the first to do both of those.
- 9:40We're the only to have Titus.
- 9:42We want to make it easier for you all.
- 9:43We're the first to do SPR Spiro CRM with a first to give you CRM functionality.
- 9:49I'm sorry, I'm two in our horn a little bit here,
- 9:51but we will continue to be the first to give it to you
- 9:53because I want to have it first at my media company.
- 9:56Good stuff.
- 9:58And we just want to say thank you to all of you
- 10:00that came up to the Spiro booth at REPP 2025.
- 10:03And just the very kind things
- 10:05you had to say your excitement for, for Spiro and Todd.
- 10:09Maybe one more announcement we have to make.
- 10:11But I had, I think I counted at least half a dozen
- 10:15people, mentioned to me that they had not yet purchased tickets
- 10:20for this, but they were going to, coming to Spiro Sync 26.
- 10:25Yes. Spiro Sync, if you were
- 10:28in Vegas at Eli's conference, the REPP conference,
- 10:32or if you missed it, say you were online and you want you want that experience.
- 10:36It's going to be it's not going to be as big.
- 10:38It's going to be more intimate at 150 people.
- 10:41And tickets are going fast.
- 10:43This is a great time to bring your assistant.
- 10:46Potentially.
- 10:47You don't have to.
- 10:48I've had that question, but if you have a team,
- 10:50I can tell you from experience, I took a large team to REPP with us,
- 10:56from Wow and from Spiro and just the team bonding and building that we did.
- 11:00It was so invaluable to have that time human to human.
- 11:05At Gordon Ramsay's eaten burgers and walking up and down
- 11:08the strip, you know, just all of those little things I can tell
- 11:11you were invaluable for the team and as me as a business owner.
- 11:15Yeah. Great time.
- 11:16So if you want if you want a book, get a ticket.
- 11:19Please don't delay on this because I cannot have more.
- 11:23I can't make any exceptions, okay?
- 11:26I cannot make any exceptions for this because we're limited by the fire marshal.
- 11:30What? The building that we have rented.
- 11:32Okay. We cannot sell more than 150 tickets.
- 11:35So excited.
- 11:36Shannob and I are going to talk. Eli is going to talk.
- 11:39Colleen's going to talk.
- 11:40There's going to be many other presenters and breakout rooms.
- 11:42Craig is going to hold a session.
- 11:44And, so I could go on and on about this and I don't want to
- 11:47because I want to get to the podcast for you guys, but please just book it
- 11:51now if you are thinking about going spiro.media, click Spiro sync.
- 11:56Yep, January 22nd through the 24th, I believe it.
- 11:59January 22nd and 23rd.
- 12:01Correct or 24th is VIP at sold out.
- 12:04We still have the early bird tickets for the 22nd 23rd.
- 12:07It's going to be incredible.
- 12:09So you're going to get 95% of everything on the 22nd.
- 12:1323rd.
- 12:14Good deal, good deal.
- 12:15Check it out Spiro.media top nav bar
- 12:18Spiro sync 26.
- 12:20It'll take you right there.
- 12:22All right.
- 12:23Good stuff Todd REPP 2025.
- 12:26This is the first conference I've been to since PMRE.
- 12:29What was that three years ago?
- 12:31Yes I think yeah.
- 12:33And that was when nobody knew us and we knew nobody.
- 12:37And the introvert in me surrounded by everything
- 12:40Vegas was just I wanted to shrink, I just yeah.
- 12:43What are the dark corner?
- 12:45And, I'm just going to say right off the bat,
- 12:49I had an absolute ball at, at REPP and,
- 12:54yeah.
- 12:55Not again, not because of Vegas, but because of the people that we're at.
- 12:59Rep. And I'm not going to try and name every name that came up and said, hello
- 13:03and asked you, I think, was it the podcast before two episodes?
- 13:06If you're going to be there, please come introduce yourself.
- 13:08I would love to meet you. And you guys.
- 13:10You did that and you made me feel so incredibly welcome and humbled by that.
- 13:15So to each of you that that specifically came up to me and said, hello, thank you.
- 13:20I had a ball meeting you, each of you.
- 13:24Yeah.
- 13:25Yes, it is just
- 13:27I can't tell you how much it means for you all to come
- 13:30up, you know, pull chair up, sit beside me, say hello Craig as well.
- 13:34And our team at Wow, team at Spiro.
- 13:37I know you guys.
- 13:38There was, you know, some of you were just dying to me.
- 13:40Many of you were dying to meet Shannon, and you got to.
- 13:43And lots of hugs and, but that is so gracious of you all.
- 13:48So just as a human, it makes it makes us feel good.
- 13:51Like, it's great to meet you guys and to hear about your stories, and,
- 13:56and you guys are always so kind, and you thank us, and you're gracious,
- 13:59and we get to get a picture with you.
- 14:00So, I want to concur all of that, Craig,
- 14:04that, it was just incredible.
- 14:08I had to laugh.
- 14:09At one point, I started feeling, like, just a little weird.
- 14:12So most of you know, I've told the story.
- 14:15I used to work in broadcast radio right?
- 14:17So I would get, you know, the occasional comment I would at station appearances.
- 14:21Hey, I recognize your voice and, you know, oh, that's what you look like.
- 14:25And, Todd, I heard over and over and over, hey, I recognize that voice.
- 14:31Yeah.
- 14:32I say, I think it was, let's see, Brian, I was having breakfast with, Billy.
- 14:37Billy
- 14:39Some of you probably know him from the Facebook groups.
- 14:41He and I were having breakfast.
- 14:43I think it was Thursday morning, and a guy came in solo.
- 14:47You know, he's
- 14:48getting seated, and all of a sudden, Billy and I are talking, and I say something.
- 14:51I see this. This guy's head kind of whip around.
- 14:54I'm like, I see the lanyard.
- 14:56And he's like, he, he, he knows me.
- 14:58And then he says, I know your voice, buddy.
- 15:01Come on over here.
- 15:02Let's have breakfast.
- 15:03So I'm pretty sure it was Brian. Yeah.
- 15:06It was just a lot of fun connections like that.
- 15:09If you've never
- 15:10been to a conference, I want to encourage you.
- 15:13If you're going to take away so much learning from other owners,
- 15:18the speakers, the just the connections that happen at lunch
- 15:22time, dinner time, activities afterwards,
- 15:26it it will renew the spark in you, assuming that you have passion
- 15:30for this industry or if you ever had passion, it'll renew it.
- 15:34It it was awesome.
- 15:37Yeah.
- 15:37You know, it's a time Craig, that we get away from our business.
- 15:41So just instinctively it does something for your business.
- 15:44And the fact that you get to test some of the infrastructure of your business.
- 15:50Yeah.
- 15:51And one, you're physically not there.
- 15:55So do you have infrastructure to help you?
- 15:57Do you not?
- 15:58And, it gives your team the ability to step up and say,
- 16:03hey, I can do this without without, you know, the leader
- 16:07and it gives and you can see who can step up
- 16:09and they'll solve things and they might need you.
- 16:12But that's the first thing it does just off the bat.
- 16:15The second thing it does is that it it really is going to re-energize you.
- 16:20I mean, the energy in that room was incredible.
- 16:24The community and that was all of you guys wanting to build community
- 16:28with each other.
- 16:28So, you know, I challenged everybody, you know, at the beginning
- 16:32of the conference as the MC to build connections at this event.
- 16:36So what Rep wanted to happen, and people were connecting in the app
- 16:40and chatting and getting breakfast and lunch and, that is incredible.
- 16:45You won't believe what having a couple of names in your phone book will do.
- 16:50And I know there are some groups that have been started
- 16:53that get together, and they meet at a regular interval
- 16:58on zoom or have a group call, some exciting things that that happen.
- 17:03Colleen started a women's and business and real estate media business group.
- 17:08So look for that online.
- 17:10If you are, a woman in this industry and,
- 17:14you want to get involved in that group, please just search it out.
- 17:18Craig had a fabulous, luncheon with, other fellow Christians in the industry.
- 17:24And I know that group kind of got sparked, and I hope we hear
- 17:27from many other groups that have happened from this
- 17:31that is that is my main goal for all of you in these conferences, is
- 17:36there are other people out there
- 17:38that are trying to find photographers right now, are wondering
- 17:42if they should hire a VA, are wondering if it's time for a stateside admin
- 17:47that drive around and say, hey, honey, I shot that house.
- 17:51Like, that's not a normal thing.
- 17:52Like, think about I shot that hat.
- 17:54Like, there are other people that speak our language,
- 17:58and connecting with them will do something that.
- 18:00If you haven't experienced that before, I can't quite explain it until you do.
- 18:07Exactly.
- 18:08We we could talk an hour, Todd, about all of our takeaways.
- 18:13And in the next probably month, month and a half or so, we're going
- 18:16to we're going to have many of the speakers from REPP 2025
- 18:21join us here on the podcast and just do a kind of a recap of what they presented.
- 18:25Todd, you mentioned, Colleen, she's going to be joining us.
- 18:28She's going to talk a little bit more about that women's group
- 18:30and what she presented.
- 18:32Scott Golden is going to be joining us.
- 18:35Just all sorts.
- 18:36But I had a ball it before.
- 18:40Actually, before we get to this,
- 18:41is there anything else you wanted to you wanted to cover?
- 18:45Just.
- 18:46No, Craig, I want to hear what you had a ball about.
- 18:48I had a ball interviewing you, our listeners and viewers.
- 18:53Those of you that were at REPP 2025, just what your takeaways were.
- 18:58From each of the like, the morning session, the afternoon session.
- 19:01And I think I've got, I don't know, maybe seven, eight, nine,
- 19:05people here, we've got about roughly about,
- 19:07I don't know, 15 minutes worth of, takeaways from you,
- 19:12in the industry that we wanted to feature here on the podcast.
- 19:15So, Todd, without further ado, let's go ahead
- 19:18and and cut to REPP 2025,
- 19:21your takeaways and things that you learned from the conference.
- 19:26My name is Kevin LaMontagne.
- 19:27Christina.
- 19:28And y'all are business Backroads media.
- 19:31From northern Colorado and works here at the REPP Conference.
- 19:35First time ever.
- 19:36Loving it here.
- 19:37Lot of energy with Todd
- 19:39And, just this idea of how you can serve
- 19:42And just so awesome about how we can serve people and how we can serve them well.
- 19:45And, that's what's standing out to us right now.
- 19:47Very cool. Very first session.
- 19:49Is this your first time at REPP?
- 19:50First time around. Excited.
- 19:53Good to meet you guys. Yeah. Good to meet you, too.
- 19:55Brian Clark, local flavor films and photography.
- 19:57All right. We're in the country. Located. We are in Atlanta, Georgia.
- 20:00All right.
- 20:00Awesome.
- 20:00We're at REPP 2025.
- 20:02We just got done with our first morning.
- 20:04What has been your biggest takeaway at the conference?
- 20:07So far
- 20:09right.
- 20:09It's hard to pinpoint.
- 20:11I know it's going to be the first session, but Colleen, really,
- 20:13you're just really just you're all amazing.
- 20:16Yeah. But Colleen really spoke to me.
- 20:18And just as far as its efficiency, I'm trying to kind of
- 20:21how to set up for that next level.
- 20:23So I randomly met Brian this morning at breakfast and he's like,
- 20:27I know that voice.
- 20:29I'm like, come on over, let's have breakfast together.
- 20:31That's the kind of awesome relationships we're able to build at REPP 2025.
- 20:35If you've never been to a conference like that, I really encourage you.
- 20:38When you encourage that first time, you do it.
- 20:41Awesome.
- 20:42Just trading great information, meeting some great people.
- 20:45And, Brian, thanks for taking the time with me.
- 20:47My pleasure. Thank you, Craig. All right. No problem.
- 20:49I'm Tony with Listvantage, and we're based out of East Polk
- 20:52County, Central Florida.
- 20:53And, you were in history, so, I'm Jonathan, Luce real estate
- 20:57And, you were in history, so, I'm Jonathan, Lucent real estate
- 20:57media, based in Maryland.
- 20:58Very cool.
- 20:59All right. So how long have you been in business?
- 21:01About about two years.
- 21:02November was, you know, was,
- 21:04spotty the first year, almost three, but really full time, about two years now.
- 21:08Okay. And how about you?
- 21:09I started in January this year. So this year, about a year yet?
- 21:11Yeah. That's all. That's great. Are you having fun?
- 21:13Yeah. It's been a blast.
- 21:15Yeah. Yeah.
- 21:15Last segment on the phone was pretty interesting.
- 21:17Yeah, she got me fired back up because I've been doing this since 2017,
- 21:22and I kind of gotten that stale area.
- 21:24Yeah.
- 21:25It's like, man, I need to have fun again for sure. Yeah.
- 21:27I thought it was, the bringing the coffee.
- 21:29The boombox was a great idea.
- 21:31Just looking for the different filling that was in is genius.
- 21:35Okay, so beyond that, what has been your biggest takeaway this morning?
- 21:39Watching Colleen talk about the VAs, it was really nice for me.
- 21:44I have three VA’s in my team.
- 21:46The main one my office manager is when I call her.
- 21:48And she just had a year last month. And,
- 21:51it's nice to to know that this is that we can make real impact in their life.
- 21:55This is the most money that she's made, right?
- 21:57The least, like the lowest stress job that she's had.
- 22:00It was nice to to do 13th month.
- 22:02Give her a month bonus. As well.
- 22:04It was.
- 22:05It was then, like she treated her whole family to, like, dinner.
- 22:08Yeah.
- 22:09But the biggest takeaway from what she mentioned was even though
- 22:14on our, on our craziest days and we're going through the chaos
- 22:17and I ask, Ivory, my VA, to get on a call.
- 22:20And I always had made it a point, even though
- 22:24we're in the thick of it, I'll always say, hey, before we get
- 22:27started in the craziness, you know, how was your weekend?
- 22:30How was your time off?
- 22:31that I saw you posted on your Instagram.
- 22:33You did that run the other day.
- 22:34And I always take time, whether it's messages and whatnot,
- 22:37but my takeaway was doing it on a regular scheduled basis,
- 22:41and I think it makes some, it's a nice touch that,
- 22:45a gap that I'd love to, to step up and fill in my, in my business.
- 22:48I like your word gap. Yeah. That's awesome.
- 22:51That's how we address challenges.
- 22:53Certain problems. Oh, they're not problems or gaps.
- 22:55Yeah, just gaps that we felt. And then that's all we ever do.
- 22:57Is that. Sorry.
- 22:58That's all we ever do is just try and get better, right?
- 23:01You know, I like sorry real quick.
- 23:04I like what her hormozi says.
- 23:07I heard someone else quote Hormozi and say that
- 23:09businesses are entrepreneurship is like chewing glass and staring the abyss.
- 23:12Excuse me?
- 23:13Hornmozi was quoting Elon.
- 23:15Okay. Yeah, okay.
- 23:16And it's like chewing glasses during the abyss.
- 23:17Ultimately, entrepreneurship is is just chewing different glass
- 23:21and never really you can only see so much in front of you.
- 23:24And when just trying to get better. Yeah. So.
- 23:27All right, how about you?
- 23:28What was your biggest takeaway this morning?
- 23:29For me I think it's the overarching theme of like serve it service
- 23:32and serving others, like remembering why you started it to serve.
- 23:36You're serving the agents you're serving, even like the team member like your Vas
- 23:40or your photographer is like starting your business to then impact others.
- 23:45I think it helps you, stay motivated, stay refreshed.
- 23:48Yeah. That's so easy to get when you can do that.
- 23:50So I was like, oh, why aren't they doing more for me?
- 23:52Then as we hit that burnout of you're always in that, like, how can I help
- 23:56others more?
- 23:57I think that was helpful in longevity.
- 23:59And then you can think of like, how can creative to serve them better, right.
- 24:02Or things like that. Yeah, that's very cool.
- 24:04Good stuff. I, I added one more thing. You done. Yeah.
- 24:07I ordered two copies of the, unreasonable hospitality.
- 24:10I need to get that one. Yeah, yeah.
- 24:12I mean, I just I just did it like I did on the spot.
- 24:14I was like, I don't want to forget because, that's how it it's
- 24:18it's fizzled out a bit in my business because we've expanded to shooters.
- 24:21And VAs
- 24:22and I don't do all that eating out and nitty gritty, but if I can ever meet a
- 24:25as my ivory, my van, I'll make a slack channel called Unreasonable Hospitality.
- 24:30We'll do like a little book club challenge.
- 24:32Or if even it's me sharing a daily takeaway or something.
- 24:35I think that principle is something that was strong in my business being solo,
- 24:39and I'd love to kind of,
- 24:41you know, make a part of our, culture on going, that's awesome.
- 24:44Cool, guys, thank you for taking.
- 24:46So I just made another new friend, podcast listener.
- 24:49What's her name? Adam Wilson from Orlando.
- 24:52Okay. What's the name of your business? Modern vintage media.
- 24:54Very cool, very cool. So how long have you been in business?
- 24:57I've been in business for about ten months now, so I started January this year.
- 25:02So I guess 11 months to now with November time flies.
- 25:04Yeah, yeah, I suppose so. When you're having fun. Right.
- 25:06I'm having a great time.
- 25:07So we just got out of a, session that was all about having fun.
- 25:11in business
- 25:12Yeah.
- 25:12it brings the energy
- 25:14I'm going to try and get him on our podcast.
- 25:16Oh, you need to be awesome.
- 25:17You need to. So. Okay.
- 25:19Question. I'm asking people.
- 25:21We just got done with our first morning of of repp 2025.
- 25:24What was your biggest takeaway?
- 25:26I really like Justin's, speech.
- 25:30He did it just to have fun with.
- 25:33Just to have fun.
- 25:34The bringing coffee to morning shoots.
- 25:36Wow. Great idea.
- 25:37Something I've never thought of, but it's genius.
- 25:39It is, you know, and bring in a speaker.
- 25:42And for making sure just not just to have fun with it.
- 25:45And when you have fun, good things will happen.
- 25:48And the best thing to do for your clients and just to care
- 25:52that you just care about them. I learned that from you.
- 25:54I learned that from Todd.
- 25:56Just care about the clients and it's the best thing for you.
- 25:59And and I was and that's an awesome point where.
- 26:01Awesome. Thanks, man. Yeah, absolutely. Thank you so much.
- 26:04What's your name?
- 26:05My name is Preston Taulbee.
- 26:06All right.
- 26:06What company are with Taulbee Real Estate Media? Okay.
- 26:09Where in the world are you located?
- 26:11In Wisconsin. Madison, Wisconsin. Very cool.
- 26:13All right, so we're at the end of day one to REPP 2025.
- 26:17What was your biggest takeaway for the afternoon session?
- 26:20I just the vibe.
- 26:21I am feeling so good, energized and there's so much information
- 26:27churning you and churning, churning.
- 26:29And it's just great.
- 26:31I just feel like, like I'm alive, you know, my business is going to thrive.
- 26:35And yeah, very cool, I think. Great.
- 26:38Thank you. Thanks.
- 26:39We are wrapping up, day one of REPP 2025.
- 26:43And, what was your name?
- 26:44My name is Eric from Logan and Eve
- 26:46media from SoCal
- 26:48And, it was a great experience
- 26:51to be here on my third year coming to this event.
- 26:54Well, this is your third year
- 26:56Okay.
- 26:57And, I started learning with Eli and his team directly,
- 27:01and I've seen it expand and I've learned a lot.
- 27:05And even to that day, the quality and that, client acquisition is so key.
- 27:09That's that's one thing that I really enjoy. Very cool.
- 27:12So what was your number one takeaway from the afternoon session today?
- 27:16Oh, why client acquisition.
- 27:18Acquisition I thought was that was and I did not knowing how much revenue
- 27:23you could lose by, you know, by just gaining 50 clients.
- 27:28Yeah.
- 27:28I mean how it expands and grows.
- 27:33So you said good stuff.
- 27:34Good stuff. Thanks for joining us
- 27:36Go ahead and introduce yourself. Okay.
- 27:37My name is Josh
- 27:38Zera from Northfield Real Estate Media based out of Scranton, Pennsylvania.
- 27:43Oh. We're close. Yeah. We’re neighbors
- 27:44So we were talking before we hit the record button.
- 27:48You were just hearing some things about the podcast
- 27:51and what kind of jumped out and ministered to you.
- 27:54Yeah. Can you talk a little bit about that? Yeah, absolutely.
- 27:56I mean, the podcast specifically just, Todd and Craig's heart.
- 28:00This firm ministry and serving has always like, spoken to me.
- 28:02My wife and I, we used to work in church ministry, youth ministry and,
- 28:06really just taking that mindset of serving our clients
- 28:09with the love of Jesus and all of that.
- 28:12So anyway, I just always encouraged by these guys,
- 28:14and they're they're just like, you know, just the standard that they set.
- 28:19It's just really inspiring.
- 28:20So I always love listening to you guys and everything like that.
- 28:22So, so I was just sharing with him
- 28:24just a little bit about my story and how we're both ministry minded.
- 28:27But there's such a need for, marketplace ministry of, you know,
- 28:31our pastors and church equipping us to do the work of ministry, going out.
- 28:35Yeah.
- 28:35And I really think that's the next big revival. Yes.
- 28:39In the marketplace. Yeah, but we need more.
- 28:41We need more people that follow Jesus. For sure.
- 28:43For sure. Wouldn't that.
- 28:44Yeah. And it's been awesome.
- 28:46Like the amount of like homeowners that I've been able to like that
- 28:49are going through hard times where there's divorce,
- 28:51death, still being able to sit there and pray with them, encourage them,
- 28:55share a smile or just like a gentle word of encouragement.
- 28:58And then even with the realtors that are going through a stressful time
- 29:01in life transitions and different things
- 29:03like that, and being able to pray with them, encourage them, love on them,
- 29:07huge opportunities that if I wasn't
- 29:08doing what I do now in real estate media, we wouldn't be able to do those things.
- 29:11So it just offers opportunities that happen outside of the church door.
- 29:15So we're really blessed to be able to be in that position.
- 29:17Oh that's awesome. Thanks for sharing that.
- 29:18All right.
- 29:19So number one question I'm asking everybody is what has been your number one
- 29:23takeaway from the afternoon session here on day one?
- 29:26The last gentleman that spoke about
- 29:29being burnt out in business or kind of like wanting to call it quits.
- 29:32I found myself there last month after, like, a full summer of,
- 29:36like, going crazy with real estate media
- 29:38and then shooting weddings and corporate events.
- 29:40On top of that, I'm phasing out of weddings and all that kind of stuff.
- 29:43But I was at that point where I was like, I just want to call it quits.
- 29:46I don't even know if I want to do this anymore.
- 29:48But then it's now me back when Eli said, there's 1 or 2 things you're either
- 29:52building a business that you don't want, so stop building that.
- 29:55Build the business that you want.
- 29:57And for too long, I let it just kind of build itself
- 30:00and cater to its clients because of that, like servant nature.
- 30:03Yeah.
- 30:03And it's like, okay, no, but there's got to be a line in the sand of like,
- 30:06I'm here to serve and help, but it can't always be at my expense, right?
- 30:11Or my, my, our expense, our relationship, my family, etc..
- 30:15So you got to serve your family first. Yeah, yeah. For sure.
- 30:18So why are you. Oh, man.
- 30:21I definitely think like,
- 30:23but biggest take away serving like that.
- 30:27I think like that more.
- 30:28I think that's what was so interesting about getting into coaching
- 30:32and listening to everyone.
- 30:33Todd is like, you have to be serve like, have a servant heart.
- 30:38And then I was like, oh my gosh, that's like all over the Bible, you know?
- 30:42So it's like, oh, okay. So it's not just a business.
- 30:45of real estate transation it’s more of a
- 30:48relational servant kind of type of things.
- 30:51Yeah, yeah. Thank you guys.
- 30:53Thank you. Yeah. You're welcome. All right.
- 30:54We are having a blast at Rev 2025 here.
- 30:57Just wrapped up the end of day one, and, I've got James Weatherhole with me.
- 31:03Name of your company again Pending media in Lexington, Kentucky.
- 31:05Very cool.
- 31:06All right.
- 31:06Right down 75.
- 31:07Yeah, right off 75. Yeah. Very cool.
- 31:10All right, so we are asking everybody must number one takeaway from our afternoon
- 31:16session here on day one said was a, it's that I need to do client acquisition.
- 31:21Yeah.
- 31:21Whether it be, you know,
- 31:22talking about the cold calling in the morning or, or using REPP engine
- 31:27or something like that, that that's, that's what we need to get going.
- 31:31Now that we have some capacity in order to actually have some want
- 31:34some more shoots.
- 31:35So that went out getting new clients and taking care of them as well.
- 31:39This something that that we need to do better at that and everything.
- 31:42I'm hearing today is just kind of sparked everything in me too,
- 31:45because I've been kind of stock also.
- 31:46Now part of mine is we need another photographer,
- 31:49but I'm going to be talking to Chris and Steve from our team about working out.
- 31:52How do we solve that? And, let me run.
- 31:55You know, it's just if you've never been to this conference,
- 31:59this is my first year there.
- 32:02It will re-energize it up.
- 32:03And it opens up your mind for sure. Yeah, absolutely. James.
- 32:06Thank you.
- 32:06Thank you, man, I am I'm having such a great time meeting, everybody here,
- 32:11both of you listen to the podcast.
- 32:13That's. Seriously. Yes.
- 32:15That’s awesome. thanks for listening.
- 32:17I do, cause I hope we can continue to provide value to you guys.
- 32:21Absolutely.
- 32:21All right, so let me have you both introduce yourselves.
- 32:24Dominique, you're gonna have you go first.
- 32:25I'm Dominique Hill, real dependable media loved the podcast.
- 32:29Listen to it as much as I possibly can.
- 32:32All right, well, first let me ask you a question.
- 32:34Then I'll have you introduce.
- 32:37What's been your number one takeaway for the afternoon session
- 32:40of REPP 2025 this year.
- 32:41Number one takeaway has been to celebrate your efforts.
- 32:45So, so I'm not really big on it, but,
- 32:48I know after this, it's very important.
- 32:50Take the time and support yourself and do what you love on your free time.
- 32:55Very cool.
- 32:56Thank you.
- 32:57Thank you. All right. Who got here?
- 32:59My name is John Umbrella.
- 33:00I'm the founder of Picture Perfect Properties based out of South Florida.
- 33:04I'm big fan of the show, number one fan of, Spiro podcast.
- 33:13All right.
- 33:13What's been your number one takeaway for the conference?
- 33:15I would say my number one takeaway of the conference has been, that
- 33:18you have to be on a relentless pursuit of doing client acquisition.
- 33:23It's easy for us to lose sight of that.
- 33:25Like Eli was saying.
- 33:27Someone, I want you to, to edit something out, or someone will have a complain.
- 33:30It was up to something customer service related.
- 33:32It's easy to want to jump to want to do that.
- 33:35But at the end of the day, you can't shift your focus from client acquisition
- 33:39and of course you want to have a good system such as Spiro
- 33:43We did not paid him to say that I'm not a paid.
- 33:45I'm not a paid actor.
- 33:46Actually, you did have a credits because you were one of our first.
- 33:49Oh, yeah, I was, I was I actually signed up first
- 33:52and I was still using my old system and I'm, I finally did a soft launch.
- 33:55I let all my customers know that I'm switching over,
- 33:58and I'm looking forward to it John.
- 34:00Thank you
- 34:03We're at REPP 2025 with the master
- 34:08I quit jujitsu a long time ago.
- 34:10Anyway, we're having a great time.
- 34:12So, what's your what is your,
- 34:15biggest takeaway you've taken this morning, man?
- 34:19To be honest, having fun is has been the best one.
- 34:22Yeah.
- 34:23I've been working so hard for a little while.
- 34:26Sure. And I think I lost my why.
- 34:29And having fun is something that I.
- 34:31This this is the biggest one.
- 34:33That's good stuff.
- 34:34Thanks for sure. What's your name? And your business?
- 34:36My name is Yohan De Oleo
- 34:38DOAmedia.ca in Canada.
- 34:40We're in Toronto. Awesome. Thanks so much. Yeah.
- 34:43Wasn't that fun, y'all?
- 34:44I just love hearing that.
- 34:45Seeing you.
- 34:46It just it makes me relive the moment.
- 34:48So we hope you enjoyed those. Craig.
- 34:50Thank you for doing that.
- 34:52That was incredible. Yeah, that was fun.
- 34:55That was fun.
- 34:55Craig was walk around Vegas with his Osmo and,
- 34:58recording everything, and that was just a blast.
- 35:01So thank you for doing that, Craig.
- 35:03Oh, it was my pleasure.
- 35:04It was kind of fun.
- 35:05A couple of people, I had the, DJI Mavic Minis and a couple of people
- 35:09hadn't seen the mini, and they couldn't get over how small those microphones were.
- 35:12And I got to say, as a former audio guy, I'm really happy
- 35:15with the audio quality on those, especially in that noisy environment.
- 35:19Yeah, there we go. Yeah, there's those things are.
- 35:21So I have one of them.
- 35:23It's not coming the full, but it's crazy how small they are.
- 35:25I mean it's like that's the size of a button.
- 35:27I feel like I'm so much better than that.
- 35:29The Mike twos, those things are gargantuan anyway.
- 35:33Yeah, if you do, I do have it.
- 35:35Oh, go ahead, go ahead.
- 35:36Sorry.
- 35:37I was going to say I do have, if you're like if you're wanting some more content.
- 35:41I always love hearing from people in the industry.
- 35:44There are some things that exist for you out there and that are coming from
- 35:47the REPP conference.
- 35:48So, Camilla did a 100 tip for real estate photographers.
- 35:53So if you are not on Eli Jones's,
- 35:57new, newsletter, you can reach out to them or get on the newsletter.
- 36:01But they sent that out about a week ago now.
- 36:03And, there's 100 tips that you all gave, which was fabulous.
- 36:06So you can really hear from the industry about, you know, something
- 36:10that they picked up along the way that helped move their business forward.
- 36:15So thanks for those that participated in that.

- 36:21in time that it's, the just past the middle of November.
- 36:25You're probably two weeks away from the replays of the REPP conference.
- 36:30So those will be for sale.

- 36:35But if you did not get to be there, did not get to experience it online.
