• 1:28
  Hey.
• 1:28
  Buddy,
• 1:29
  how
• 1:29
  we
• 1:29
  doing
• 1:29
  today?
• 1:31
  Doing
• 1:31
  good,
• 1:32
  dude.
• 1:32
  A
• 1:32
  little
• 1:32
  cold
• 1:32
  up
• 1:33
  here
• 1:33
  in
• 1:33
  the
• 1:33
  mountains.
• 1:33
  Different
• 1:34
  setting,
• 1:34
  different
• 1:35
  vibes.
• 1:36
  I
• 1:36
  made
• 1:37
  a
• 1:37
  fire
• 1:37
  last
• 1:37
  night.
• 1:38
  Yeah,
• 1:39
  you
• 1:39
  know
• 1:39
  what?
• 1:39
  I
• 1:39
  was
• 1:39
  like,
• 1:40
  wow,
• 1:40
  I
• 1:40
  can
• 1:40
  still
• 1:40
  make
• 1:40
  a
• 1:41
  nice
• 1:41
  fire.
• 1:42
  There
• 1:42
  we
• 1:42
  go.
• 1:43
  There
• 1:43
  we
• 1:43
  go.
• 1:44
  Your
• 1:44
  Pacific
• 1:44

• 1:45
  roots
• 1:45
  come
• 1:46
  back
• 1:46
  in
• 1:46
  use
• 1:46
  in
• 1:47
  Colombia.
• 1:48
  Yeah,
• 1:48
  no,
• 1:49
  that
• 1:49
  was
• 1:49
  actually
• 1:50
  really
• 1:50
  cool.
• 1:50
  I
• 1:50
  was
• 1:50
  like,
• 1:51
  man,
• 1:51
  I
• 1:51
  miss
• 1:51
  making
• 1:52
  fires.
• 1:52
  Although
• 1:52
  I
• 1:53
  hated
• 1:53
  it
• 1:53
  as
• 1:53
  a
• 1:53
  child
• 1:54
  when
• 1:54
  I
• 1:54
  was
• 1:54
  in
• 1:54
  third
• 1:54
  grade
• 1:55
  and
• 1:55
  my
• 1:55
  parents
• 1:55
  were
• 1:55
  like,
• 1:56
  start
• 1:56
  the
• 1:56
  fire
• 1:56
  in
• 1:57
  the
• 1:57
  morning.
• 1:58
  Absolutely.
• 1:59
  Funny
• 1:59
  story,
• 1:59
  man.
• 2:00
  I
• 2:00
  still
• 2:00
  got
• 2:00
  my
• 2:00
  house
• 2:01
  sold.
• 2:01
  This
• 2:01
  last
• 2:01
  week.
• 2:02
  It's
• 2:02
  closed.
• 2:03
  I
• 2:03
  moved.
• 2:04
  That's
• 2:04
  all
• 2:05
  done.
• 2:06
  So
• 2:06
  now
• 2:06
  I
• 2:06
  can
• 2:07
  tell
• 2:07
  the
• 2:07
  story
• 2:07
  about
• 2:08
  selling
• 2:09
  my
• 2:09
  house
• 2:10
  and
• 2:10
  the
• 2:10
  people
• 2:11
  that
• 2:11
  were
• 2:11
  going
• 2:12
  through
• 2:13
  and
• 2:13
  putting
• 2:13
  offers
• 2:14
  or
• 2:14
  looking
• 2:15
  at
• 2:15
  stuff.
• 2:16
  I
• 2:16
  had
• 2:17
  a
• 2:17
  very
• 2:17
  good
• 2:18
  security
• 2:18
  system
• 2:18
  around
• 2:19
  the
• 2:19
  perimeter
• 2:19
  of
• 2:19
  my
• 2:19
  house.
• 2:19
  Cause
• 2:19
  I
• 2:20
  had
• 2:20
  a
• 2:20
  lot
• 2:20
  of
• 2:20
  tools,
• 2:20
  right?
• 2:21
  So
• 2:21
  wanted
• 2:22
  to
• 2:22
  make
• 2:22
  sure
• 2:22
  that
• 2:22
  nobody
• 2:22
  was
• 2:23
  peeking
• 2:23
  around
• 2:23
  the
• 2:23
  property.
• 2:24
  If
• 2:25
  you're
• 2:25
  selling
• 2:25
  your
• 2:26
  house,
• 2:26
  that
• 2:26
  is
• 2:26
  probably
• 2:27
  the
• 2:27
  most
• 2:27
  invaluable
• 2:28
  tool
• 2:28
  you
• 2:29
  can
• 2:29
  do
• 2:30
  is
• 2:30
  to
• 2:30
  put
• 2:30
  that
• 2:30
  around.
• 2:32
  Because
• 2:32
  human
• 2:33
  nature
• 2:33
  says,
• 2:34
  and
• 2:34
  this
• 2:34
  happened
• 2:35
  every
• 2:35
  time
• 2:36
  100%
• 2:37
  of
• 2:37
  the
• 2:37
  time.
• 2:38
  People
• 2:38
  would
• 2:39
  walk
• 2:39
  out,
• 2:40
  they
• 2:40
  get
• 2:40
  to
• 2:41
  the
• 2:41
  front
• 2:41
  of
• 2:41
  their
• 2:41
  car,
• 2:41
  they
• 2:41
  meet
• 2:42
  with
• 2:42
  the
• 2:42
  realtor,
• 2:43
  and
• 2:43
  they
• 2:43
  gush
• 2:44
  about
• 2:44
  what
• 2:44
  they
• 2:44
  liked,
• 2:45
  didn't
• 2:45
  like,
• 2:46
  and
• 2:46
  what
• 2:46
  they
• 2:46
  thought
• 2:47
  the
• 2:47
  house
• 2:47
  was
• 2:48
  worth.
• 2:49
  So
• 2:49
  it
• 2:49
  was
• 2:49
  like
• 2:50
  having
• 2:50
  a
• 2:51
  CIA
• 2:51
  bug
• 2:52
  in
• 2:52
  the
• 2:53
  negotiation
• 2:54
  process,
• 2:55
  which
• 2:55
  is
• 2:55
  helpful.
• 2:57
  It's
• 2:57
  a
• 2:57
  helpful
• 2:57
  tool.
• 2:58
  They
• 2:59
  walk
• 2:59
  out.
• 2:59
  And
• 2:59
  I
• 3:00
  had
• 3:00
  this
• 3:00
  one
• 3:00
  guy
• 3:00
  walk
• 3:00
  out
• 3:01
  who
• 3:01
  was
• 3:01
  gonna
• 3:01
  put
• 3:01
  an
• 3:01
  offer
• 3:01
  in.
• 3:02
  And
• 3:02
  we
• 3:02
  had
• 3:02
  another
• 3:02
  offer
• 3:03
  in
• 3:03
  come
• 3:03
  in
• 3:03
  before
• 3:03
  that
• 3:04
  we
• 3:04
  took.
• 3:04
  But
• 3:05
  he
• 3:05
  came
• 3:05
  out
• 3:05
  and
• 3:05
  goes,
• 3:06
  I
• 3:06
  think
• 3:06
  we
• 3:06
  ought
• 3:06
  to
• 3:06
  offer,
• 3:07
  like,
• 3:07
  $40,000
• 3:09
  off
• 3:09
  of
• 3:09
  it.
• 3:11
  And
• 3:11
  I'd
• 3:11
  pay
• 3:11
  full
• 3:11
  price
• 3:12
  if
• 3:12
  I
• 3:12
  had
• 3:12
  to.
• 3:13
  Yeah.
• 3:13
  Thank
• 3:13
  you.
• 3:14
  Thank
• 3:14
  you.
• 3:15
  And
• 3:16
  I
• 3:16
  tell
• 3:16
  you
• 3:16
  what,
• 3:17
  the
• 3:17
  human
• 3:17
  nature
• 3:18
  part
• 3:18
  of
• 3:18
  that
• 3:18
  was
• 3:19
  just
• 3:19
  fascinating.
• 3:19
  People
• 3:20
  walking
• 3:20
  out.
• 3:21
  Oh,
• 3:21
  yeah.
• 3:22
  Or
• 3:22
  they'd
• 3:22
  walk
• 3:23
  around
• 3:23
  a
• 3:23
  corner
• 3:23
  and
• 3:23
  go,
• 3:23
  oh,
• 3:24
  that's
• 3:24
  beautiful.
• 3:25
  Oh,
• 3:26
  I'D
• 3:26
  love
• 3:26
  to
• 3:26
  have
• 3:26
  this.
• 3:27
  And
• 3:27
  then
• 3:27
  you'd
• 3:28
  see
• 3:28
  the
• 3:28
  husband
• 3:28
  vs
• 3:29
  wife
• 3:29
  discussion
• 3:30
  of,
• 3:31
  oh,
• 3:31
  I
• 3:31
  want
• 3:31
  that
• 3:31
  outdoor
• 3:32
  kitchen.
• 3:32
  I
• 3:33
  don't
• 3:33
  know.
• 3:33
  I
• 3:33
  do
• 3:34
  the
• 3:34
  kitchen,
• 3:34
  though.
• 3:35
  And
• 3:35
  it
• 3:35
  was
• 3:35
  just
• 3:35
  this
• 3:36
  stereotypical
• 3:37
  husband,
• 3:38
  wife
• 3:38
  discussion
• 3:39
  back
• 3:39
  and
• 3:39
  forth
• 3:40
  that
• 3:40
  you
• 3:40
  could
• 3:40
  just
• 3:40
  watch
• 3:40
  as
• 3:41
  a
• 3:41
  play
• 3:41
  by
• 3:41
  play
• 3:41
  on
• 3:41
  my.
• 3:42
  My
• 3:42
  camera
• 3:42
  system
• 3:43
  and
• 3:43
  follow
• 3:44
  it
• 3:44
  around.
• 3:44
  So
• 3:45
  if
• 3:45
  we
• 3:45
  blur
• 3:45
  faces,
• 3:46
  can
• 3:46
  we
• 3:46
  create
• 3:46
  a
• 3:47
  YouTube
• 3:47
  channel
• 3:47
  out
• 3:47
  of
• 3:48
  this
• 3:48
  stuff?
• 3:49
  That's
• 3:50
  idea.
• 3:51
  Just
• 3:51
  throwing
• 3:52
  it
• 3:52
  out
• 3:52
  there.
• 3:53
  It's
• 3:54
  all
• 3:54
  saved
• 3:54
  in
• 3:54
  the
• 3:54
  cloud.
• 3:55
  So
• 3:55
  that's
• 3:55
  funny.
• 3:57
  Realtor
• 3:57
  Spies.
• 3:58
  Realtor
• 3:58
  Spies,
• 3:59
  that
• 4:00
  could
• 4:00
  be
• 4:00
  its
• 4:00
  own
• 4:00
  TV
• 4:00
  show
• 4:01
  now
• 4:01
  that
• 4:01
  we're
• 4:01
  telling
• 4:01
  everybody
• 4:02
  about
• 4:02
  it.
• 4:03
  But
• 4:04
  somebody's
• 4:04
  already
• 4:04
  on
• 4:04
  YouTube
• 4:05
  doing
• 4:05
  it.
• 4:05
  Thanks.
• 4:06
  There's
• 4:06
  probably
• 4:06
  somebody
• 4:07
  out
• 4:07
  there.
• 4:07
  But
• 4:08
  anyway,
• 4:08
  it
• 4:08
  was
• 4:08
  just
• 4:09
  so
• 4:09
  funny
• 4:09
  to
• 4:09
  watch.
• 4:09
  And
• 4:10
  you
• 4:10
  guys
• 4:10
  out
• 4:10
  there
• 4:10
  selling
• 4:11
  your
• 4:11
  houses.
• 4:11
  Just
• 4:12
  one.
• 4:12
  If
• 4:12
  you're
• 4:12
  out
• 4:13
  buying,
• 4:13
  be
• 4:13
  careful.
• 4:14
  Maybe
• 4:15
  getting
• 4:15
  a
• 4:15
  phone
• 4:15
  call
• 4:15
  once
• 4:16
  you
• 4:16
  get
• 4:16
  in
• 4:16
  the
• 4:16
  car
• 4:16
  or
• 4:17
  sit
• 4:17
  in
• 4:17
  the
• 4:17
  car
• 4:17
  and
• 4:17
  have
• 4:18
  the
• 4:18
  discussion
• 4:18
  inside
• 4:19
  the
• 4:19
  car
• 4:19
  if
• 4:19
  you
• 4:19
  need
• 4:19
  to
• 4:20
  have
• 4:20
  the
• 4:20
  discussion.
• 4:21
  Because
• 4:21
  this
• 4:22
  didn't
• 4:22
  have
• 4:22
  them
• 4:22
  inside
• 4:23
  the
• 4:23
  house.
• 4:23
  It
• 4:24
  was
• 4:24
  notified
• 4:24
  in
• 4:25
  the
• 4:25
  listing
• 4:25
  that
• 4:25
  there
• 4:25
  were
• 4:25
  exterior
• 4:26
  cameras
• 4:26
  that
• 4:27
  worked.
• 4:28
  So
• 4:28
  it
• 4:28
  was.
• 4:29
  There
• 4:29
  was
• 4:29
  nothing
• 4:29
  nefarious
• 4:30
  here,
• 4:30
  but
• 4:31
  it
• 4:31
  was
• 4:31
  just
• 4:31
  funny.
• 4:32
  You
• 4:32
  could
• 4:32
  hear
• 4:33
  every
• 4:33
  single
• 4:33
  time.
• 4:34
  There
• 4:35
  was
• 4:35
  just
• 4:35
  absolute
• 4:36
  craziness
• 4:37
  of
• 4:38
  the
• 4:38
  discussion
• 4:39
  of
• 4:39
  looking
• 4:39
  over
• 4:40
  the
• 4:40
  house.
• 4:41
  How
• 4:41
  funny.
• 4:41
  Nah,
• 4:42
  I
• 4:42
  actually.
• 4:43
  I
• 4:43
  would
• 4:44
  love
• 4:44
  to
• 4:44
  see
• 4:44
  some
• 4:44
  of
• 4:44
  that.
• 4:46
  Okay.
• 4:46
  There's
• 4:46
  a
• 4:46
  rabbit
• 4:47
  hole
• 4:47
  for
• 4:47
  us
• 4:47
  to
• 4:48
  dive
• 4:48
  down,
• 4:49
  so.
• 4:49
  Yeah,
• 4:50
  late
• 4:50
  night
• 4:51
  listening.
• 4:51
  Exactly,
• 4:52
  exactly.
• 4:53
  I
• 4:53
  should
• 4:53
  make
• 4:53
  a
• 4:53
  compilation
• 4:54
  video
• 4:54
  of
• 4:54
  that.
• 4:55
  I
• 4:55
  like
• 4:56
  it.
• 4:56
  I
• 4:56
  like
• 4:56
  it,
• 4:57
  brother.
• 4:57
  Today
• 4:57
  I
• 4:57
  think
• 4:58
  we
• 4:58
  talk
• 4:58
  about
• 4:58
  some
• 4:59
  of
• 4:59
  the
• 4:59
  top
• 4:59
  10
• 4:59
  tricks
• 4:59
  of
• 5:00
  saving
• 5:00
  on
• 5:00
  your
• 5:01
  next
• 5:01
  home
• 5:01
  improvement
• 5:02
  project.
• 5:02
  Because,
• 5:03
  holy
• 5:04
  smokes,
• 5:04
  things
• 5:04
  are
• 5:04
  expensive
• 5:05
  out
• 5:05
  there.
• 5:06
  I
• 5:06
  was.
• 5:06
  It's
• 5:07
  amazing
• 5:07
  how
• 5:07
  expensive
• 5:08
  it
• 5:08
  is.
• 5:08
  And
• 5:08
  for
• 5:08
  all
• 5:09
  you
• 5:09
  guys
• 5:09
  listening
• 5:09
  across
• 5:10
  the
• 5:10
  country,
• 5:11
  I
• 5:11
  went
• 5:11
  up
• 5:11
  last
• 5:12
  weekend
• 5:12
  after
• 5:13
  I
• 5:13
  got
• 5:13
  everything
• 5:13
  done,
• 5:14
  I
• 5:14
  had
• 5:14
  to
• 5:14
  go
• 5:14
  up
• 5:14
  and
• 5:14
  get
• 5:14
  a
• 5:15
  truck.
• 5:15
  So
• 5:15
  I
• 5:15
  went
• 5:15
  up
• 5:16
  to
• 5:16
  the
• 5:16
  Seattle
• 5:16
  area.
• 5:17
  I'm
• 5:18
  down
• 5:18
  in
• 5:18
  the
• 5:18
  Portland
• 5:18
  area.
• 5:19
  Gasoline
• 5:20
  up
• 5:20
  There
• 5:20
  is
• 5:21
  like
• 5:21
  4:40
• 5:22
  a
• 5:22
  gallon
• 5:23
  for
• 5:23
  unleaded
• 5:23
  in
• 5:24
  most
• 5:24
  places.
• 5:24
  And
• 5:24
  I'm
• 5:25
  not
• 5:25
  talking
• 5:25
  the
• 5:25
  crazy
• 5:25
  one
• 5:25
  by
• 5:26
  the
• 5:26
  highway.
• 5:26
  I'm
• 5:26
  talking
• 5:27
  going
• 5:28
  by
• 5:28
  the
• 5:28
  Costco
• 5:28
  and
• 5:29
  that
• 5:29
  kind
• 5:29
  of
• 5:29
  stuff
• 5:29
  where
• 5:29
  you
• 5:30
  get
• 5:30
  the
• 5:30
  deals.
• 5:31
  It's
• 5:31
  still
• 5:32
  four
• 5:32
  and
• 5:32
  a
• 5:32
  half
• 5:32
  gallons,
• 5:33
  four
• 5:33
  and
• 5:33
  a
• 5:33
  half
• 5:34
  bucks
• 5:34
  a
• 5:34
  gallon
• 5:34
  up
• 5:34
  there,
• 5:35
  which
• 5:35
  is
• 5:35
  about
• 5:35
  80
• 5:36
  cents
• 5:36
  more
• 5:36
  than
• 5:36
  here
• 5:37
  in
• 5:37
  Oregon.
• 5:38
  And
• 5:38
  that
• 5:38
  just
• 5:39
  translates
• 5:39
  to
• 5:39
  everything,
• 5:40
  especially
• 5:40
  when
• 5:40
  you've
• 5:41
  got
• 5:41
  truck
• 5:41
  drivers
• 5:42
  having
• 5:42
  to
• 5:42
  haul
• 5:42
  stuff.
• 5:43
  And
• 5:44
  no,
• 5:44
  you
• 5:45
  know,
• 5:45
  now
• 5:45
  they
• 5:45
  added
• 5:45
  that
• 5:46
  new
• 5:46
  tariff
• 5:46
  to
• 5:47
  25%
• 5:49
  to
• 5:49
  kitchen
• 5:49
  cabinets
• 5:50
  and
• 5:50
  kitchen
• 5:50
  cabinet
• 5:51
  parts
• 5:51
  that
• 5:52
  are
• 5:52
  coming
• 5:52
  out
• 5:52
  of
• 5:53
  China.
• 5:53
  I
• 5:54
  think
• 5:54
  Hardwood
• 5:55
  flooring
• 5:55
  and
• 5:56
  plywood
• 5:56
  is
• 5:56
  next
• 5:57
  where
• 5:58
  January,
• 5:58
  that's
• 5:59
  going
• 5:59
  to
• 5:59
  be
• 5:59
  50%
• 6:00
  on
• 6:01
  that
• 6:01
  stuff,
• 6:01
  which
• 6:01
  is
• 6:02
  going
• 6:02
  to
• 6:02
  really
• 6:02
  affect
• 6:02
  the
• 6:03
  low
• 6:03
  end
• 6:03
  price
• 6:04
  point
• 6:04
  stuff
• 6:04
  coming
• 6:05
  out.
• 6:05
  So
• 6:06
  there's
• 6:06
  things
• 6:07
  that
• 6:07
  are
• 6:07
  happening
• 6:08
  out
• 6:09
  there
• 6:09
  that
• 6:09
  we
• 6:09
  need
• 6:09
  to
• 6:09
  be
• 6:09
  careful
• 6:10
  of.
• 6:10
  So
• 6:11
  it
• 6:11
  might
• 6:11
  be
• 6:11
  if
• 6:12
  you're
• 6:12
  buying
• 6:12
  some
• 6:12
  of
• 6:12
  those
• 6:13
  products
• 6:13
  that
• 6:13
  look
• 6:14
  like
• 6:14
  they
• 6:14
  might
• 6:14
  be
• 6:14
  going
• 6:14
  on
• 6:15
  the
• 6:15
  next
• 6:15
  list,
• 6:16
  I
• 6:16
  want
• 6:16
  to
• 6:16
  get
• 6:16
  them
• 6:17
  sooner
• 6:17
  than
• 6:17
  later
• 6:18
  because
• 6:18
  25
• 6:19
  to
• 6:19
  50%
• 6:20
  can
• 6:20
  add
• 6:20
  a
• 6:21
  bunch
• 6:21
  to
• 6:21
  that
• 6:22
  budget
• 6:22
  that
• 6:22
  you're
• 6:23
  not
• 6:23
  anticipating.
• 6:24
  Yeah.
• 6:24
  And
• 6:25
  also
• 6:25
  in
• 6:25
  thinking
• 6:26
  about
• 6:27
  back
• 6:27
  to
• 6:27
  the
• 6:27
  point
• 6:28
  of
• 6:28
  buying
• 6:28
  a
• 6:28
  house,
• 6:28
  if
• 6:29
  you're
• 6:29
  looking
• 6:29
  at
• 6:29
  buying
• 6:30
  a
• 6:30
  fixer
• 6:30
  or
• 6:30
  thinking
• 6:31
  you're
• 6:31
  going
• 6:31
  to
• 6:31
  add
• 6:31
  some
• 6:31
  equity,
• 6:32
  but
• 6:32
  run
• 6:32
  that
• 6:32
  budget
• 6:33
  more
• 6:34
  than
• 6:34
  twice
• 6:34
  and
• 6:34
  take
• 6:35
  a
• 6:35
  look
• 6:35
  at
• 6:36
  where
• 6:36
  that
• 6:36
  budget
• 6:37
  might
• 6:37
  be
• 6:37
  a
• 6:37
  little
• 6:37
  bit
• 6:38
  low
• 6:38
  in
• 6:38
  six
• 6:38
  months
• 6:39
  that
• 6:39
  you
• 6:39
  thought
• 6:40
  you
• 6:40
  were
• 6:40
  going
• 6:40
  to
• 6:40
  redo
• 6:41
  the
• 6:41
  kitchen
• 6:41
  for
• 6:42
  xyz
• 6:42
  and
• 6:43
  now
• 6:43
  the
• 6:43
  kitchen
• 6:43
  is
• 6:44
  double
• 6:44
  xyz.
• 6:45
  Absolutely.
• 6:46
  Especially
• 6:47
  it's
• 6:47
  going
• 6:47
  to
• 6:47
  be
• 6:47
  different
• 6:48
  now
• 6:48
  that
• 6:48
  if
• 6:48
  you're
• 6:48
  working
• 6:48
  with
• 6:49
  a
• 6:49
  local
• 6:50
  cabinet
• 6:50
  shop
• 6:51
  or
• 6:51
  a
• 6:51
  national
• 6:51
  cabinet
• 6:52
  company.
• 6:52
  But
• 6:53
  let's
• 6:53
  be
• 6:53
  honest,
• 6:54
  big
• 6:54
  companies
• 6:54
  like
• 6:55
  Craft,
• 6:56
  Made
• 6:56
  American,
• 6:56
  Woodmark,
• 6:57
  all
• 6:57
  those
• 6:57
  big
• 6:58
  brands
• 6:58
  you
• 6:58
  see
• 6:58
  in
• 6:58
  the
• 6:58
  home
• 6:59
  improvement
• 6:59
  stores,
• 7:00
  they're
• 7:00
  having
• 7:00
  parts
• 7:01
  built,
• 7:01
  they're
• 7:02
  sending
• 7:02
  off
• 7:02
  and
• 7:03
  having
• 7:03
  all
• 7:03
  their
• 7:03
  cut
• 7:03
  parts
• 7:04
  done
• 7:04
  in
• 7:04
  China
• 7:05
  and
• 7:06
  they
• 7:06
  talk
• 7:06
  about
• 7:07
  made
• 7:07
  in
• 7:07
  America,
• 7:07
  but
• 7:08
  guess
• 7:08
  what,
• 7:09
  they're
• 7:09
  shipping
• 7:09
  plywood
• 7:10
  over
• 7:10
  there.
• 7:10
  It's
• 7:11
  getting
• 7:11
  cut
• 7:11
  up
• 7:11
  and
• 7:11
  comes
• 7:12
  back
• 7:12
  because
• 7:12
  it's
• 7:12
  cheaper.
• 7:13
  And
• 7:14
  let's
• 7:14
  just
• 7:14
  think
• 7:14
  about
• 7:15
  that
• 7:15
  for
• 7:15
  just
• 7:15
  a
• 7:16
  second.
• 7:17
  It's
• 7:17
  cheaper
• 7:18
  for
• 7:18
  them
• 7:18
  to
• 7:19
  take
• 7:19
  a
• 7:19
  semi
• 7:20
  truck
• 7:20
  full
• 7:20
  of
• 7:21
  particle
• 7:21
  board
• 7:21
  or
• 7:22
  plywood
• 7:22
  or
• 7:22
  furniture
• 7:23
  board
• 7:23
  as
• 7:23
  they
• 7:23
  call
• 7:23
  it,
• 7:24
  send
• 7:25
  it
• 7:25
  on
• 7:25
  a
• 7:25
  diesel
• 7:26
  powered
• 7:26
  or
• 7:26
  fuel
• 7:27
  oil
• 7:27
  powered
• 7:27
  ship
• 7:28
  halfway
• 7:28
  across
• 7:28
  the
• 7:29
  world
• 7:30
  and
• 7:30
  then
• 7:31
  cut
• 7:31
  it
• 7:31
  and
• 7:32
  ship
• 7:32
  it
• 7:32
  back.
• 7:33
  It's
• 7:33
  cheaper
• 7:34
  to
• 7:34
  do
• 7:34
  that
• 7:34
  than
• 7:34
  to
• 7:35
  pay
• 7:35
  a
• 7:35
  guy
• 7:35
  and
• 7:35
  a
• 7:35
  CNC
• 7:36
  machine
• 7:37
  in
• 7:37
  their
• 7:37
  own
• 7:37
  building.
• 7:38
  That
• 7:38
  shows
• 7:39
  you.
• 7:39
  How
• 7:39
  about
• 7:40
  this
• 7:40
  a
• 7:41
  couple
• 7:41
  weeks
• 7:41
  ago
• 7:41
  or
• 7:42
  something?
• 7:42
  I
• 7:43
  can't
• 7:43
  do
• 7:43
  the
• 7:43
  math
• 7:43
  on
• 7:44
  that
• 7:44
  one.
• 7:44
  I'd
• 7:44
  love
• 7:44
  to
• 7:45
  get
• 7:45
  somebody
• 7:46
  on
• 7:46
  here
• 7:46
  to
• 7:46
  explain
• 7:47
  that.
• 7:48
  Yeah,
• 7:48
  it's
• 7:48
  fascinating.
• 7:49
  And
• 7:50
  that's
• 7:50
  not
• 7:50
  even
• 7:50
  our
• 7:50
  first
• 7:50
  one
• 7:51
  here.
• 7:51
  I
• 7:51
  want
• 7:51
  to
• 7:51
  talk
• 7:51
  about
• 7:52
  this.
• 7:52
  Prioritizing
• 7:53
  those
• 7:53
  high
• 7:53
  return
• 7:54
  on
• 7:54
  investment
• 7:54
  projects
• 7:55
  like
• 7:56
  garage
• 7:56
  doors
• 7:57
  and
• 7:57
  things
• 7:57
  like
• 7:57
  that
• 7:58
  we
• 7:58
  talked
• 7:58
  about
• 7:58
  a
• 7:58
  few
• 7:58
  weeks
• 7:59
  ago.
• 7:59
  That's
• 8:00
  a
• 8:00
  really
• 8:00
  great
• 8:01
  way
• 8:01
  to
• 8:01
  get
• 8:01
  the
• 8:01
  most
• 8:02
  out
• 8:02
  of
• 8:02
  your
• 8:02
  dollar
• 8:03
  if
• 8:03
  you're
• 8:04
  remodeling,
• 8:04
  if
• 8:04
  you're
• 8:04
  going
• 8:05
  to
• 8:05
  go
• 8:05
  do
• 8:05
  something.
• 8:06
  I've
• 8:06
  been
• 8:06
  out
• 8:06
  looking
• 8:07
  at
• 8:07
  houses.
• 8:08
  So
• 8:08
  many
• 8:08
  people
• 8:09
  go
• 8:09
  on
• 8:09
  and
• 8:09
  make
• 8:09
  their
• 8:09
  own
• 8:10
  kitschy
• 8:10
  little
• 8:10
  thing
• 8:11
  in
• 8:11
  the
• 8:11
  house
• 8:11
  and
• 8:11
  it's
• 8:12
  like
• 8:12
  nobody
• 8:13
  wants
• 8:13
  that
• 8:15
  if
• 8:15
  you're
• 8:15
  thinking
• 8:15
  about
• 8:15
  the
• 8:16
  value,
• 8:16
  you're
• 8:16
  actually
• 8:17
  looking
• 8:17
  at
• 8:17
  it
• 8:17
  going,
• 8:17
  wow,
• 8:17
  I'm
• 8:18
  going
• 8:18
  to
• 8:18
  remodel
• 8:18
  this
• 8:18
  place.
• 8:19
  You
• 8:20
  don't
• 8:20
  want
• 8:20
  to
• 8:20
  have
• 8:20
  a.
• 8:21
  I
• 8:21
  was
• 8:22
  street
• 8:22
  of
• 8:22
  dreams
• 8:22
  with
• 8:23
  my
• 8:23
  buddy
• 8:23
  Ty
• 8:23
  here
• 8:23
  recently
• 8:24
  over
• 8:24
  in
• 8:24
  the
• 8:24
  Tri
• 8:24
  Cities
• 8:25
  and
• 8:25
  there
• 8:26
  was
• 8:26
  a
• 8:26
  house
• 8:26
  for
• 8:26
  sale
• 8:26
  next
• 8:27
  door
• 8:27
  to
• 8:27
  that.
• 8:27
  These
• 8:28
  people
• 8:28
  had
• 8:28
  done
• 8:29
  this
• 8:29
  black
• 8:29
  and
• 8:30
  white
• 8:30
  tiger
• 8:30
  striped
• 8:31
  porcelain
• 8:32
  tile
• 8:33
  everywhere
• 8:33
  in
• 8:34
  the
• 8:34
  house.
• 8:34
  You
• 8:34
  and
• 8:34
  I
• 8:34
  talked
• 8:35
  about
• 8:35
  it
• 8:36
  and
• 8:36
  it
• 8:36
  was
• 8:36
  a
• 8:36
  million
• 8:37
  dollar
• 8:37
  house.
• 8:37
  It
• 8:37
  had
• 8:37
  a
• 8:37
  million
• 8:38
  dollar
• 8:38
  view.
• 8:39
  But
• 8:39
  there's
• 8:39
  a
• 8:40
  $500,000
• 8:41
  remodel
• 8:41
  to
• 8:41
  take
• 8:42
  the
• 8:42
  tile
• 8:42
  off
• 8:42
  the
• 8:42
  floors
• 8:43
  and
• 8:43
  the
• 8:43
  walls
• 8:43
  and
• 8:44
  the
• 8:44
  showers
• 8:44
  because
• 8:45
  they
• 8:46
  on
• 8:46
  everything.
• 8:47
  They
• 8:47
  bought
• 8:48
  a
• 8:48
  container
• 8:48
  of
• 8:48
  it
• 8:49
  and
• 8:49
  used
• 8:50
  all
• 8:50
  of
• 8:50
  it.
• 8:51
  And
• 8:52
  yeah,
• 8:52
  it's
• 8:52
  a
• 8:52
  tough
• 8:53
  sell
• 8:53
  unless
• 8:53
  you
• 8:53
  find
• 8:53
  another
• 8:54
  tiger
• 8:55
  person,
• 8:55
  zebra
• 8:56
  person.
• 8:56
  Whatever
• 8:57
  person,
• 8:58
  and
• 8:58
  then
• 8:58
  you're
• 8:58
  gold.
• 8:59
  But
• 8:59
  when
• 8:59
  you're
• 8:59
  trying
• 8:59
  to
• 9:00
  sell
• 9:00
  that
• 9:00
  kind
• 9:00
  of
• 9:00
  house,
• 9:00
  that's
• 9:01
  a
• 9:01
  tough
• 9:01
  one.
• 9:01
  That's
• 9:02
  a
• 9:02
  tough
• 9:02
  one.
• 9:03
  And
• 9:03
  then
• 9:03
  the
• 9:04
  next
• 9:04
  one
• 9:04
  here
• 9:05
  is
• 9:06
  the
• 9:06
  flip
• 9:06
  side
• 9:06
  of
• 9:06
  that.
• 9:06
  On
• 9:07
  that
• 9:07
  list
• 9:07
  is
• 9:08
  skipping
• 9:09
  those
• 9:10
  low
• 9:10
  return
• 9:10
  on
• 9:11
  investment
• 9:11
  ones
• 9:11
  like
• 9:11
  we
• 9:12
  talked
• 9:12
  about,
• 9:13
  like
• 9:13
  those
• 9:13
  bathroom
• 9:13
  additions
• 9:14
  that
• 9:14
  were
• 9:14
  bringing
• 9:15
  back
• 9:15
  less
• 9:15
  than
• 9:15
  50%.
• 9:17
  Yeah.
• 9:17
  And
• 9:18
  again,
• 9:18
  those
• 9:18
  are
• 9:19
  projects
• 9:19
  that
• 9:19
  are
• 9:20
  you're
• 9:20
  paying
• 9:20
  for
• 9:21
  the
• 9:21
  contractor
• 9:21
  to
• 9:21
  come
• 9:22
  do.
• 9:23
  So
• 9:23
  you'll
• 9:23
  get
• 9:23
  a
• 9:24
  better
• 9:24
  return
• 9:24
  on
• 9:24
  investment.
• 9:25
  If
• 9:25
  you're
• 9:25
  doing
• 9:26
  that
• 9:26
  as
• 9:26
  a
• 9:26
  DIY
• 9:27
  project
• 9:27
  and
• 9:27
  you're
• 9:28
  doing
• 9:28
  it
• 9:28
  right,
• 9:29
  you're.
• 9:29
  Going
• 9:30
  to
• 9:30
  eat
• 9:30
  some.
• 9:30
  That's
• 9:31
  just
• 9:31
  part
• 9:31
  of
• 9:31
  the
• 9:31
  deal.
• 9:32
  You
• 9:32
  got
• 9:32
  five
• 9:33
  years
• 9:33
  out
• 9:33
  of
• 9:33
  it,
• 9:33
  that's
• 9:33
  great.
• 9:34
  But
• 9:34
  you
• 9:35
  might
• 9:35
  have
• 9:35
  to
• 9:35
  redo
• 9:35
  that
• 9:36
  tile
• 9:36
  to
• 9:36
  get
• 9:36
  the
• 9:37
  place
• 9:37
  sold.
• 9:37
  Just
• 9:38
  like
• 9:38
  you
• 9:38
  just
• 9:38
  had
• 9:38
  to
• 9:38
  do
• 9:39
  with
• 9:39
  your
• 9:39
  house.
• 9:39
  Absolutely.
• 9:40
  This
• 9:40
  was
• 9:40
  great
• 9:41
  to
• 9:41
  get
• 9:41
  it
• 9:41
  done.
• 9:43
  Update
• 9:43
  this
• 9:43
  or
• 9:44
  do
• 9:44
  this
• 9:44
  or.
• 9:44
  Yeah,
• 9:45
  exactly.
• 9:46
  All
• 9:46
  right,
• 9:46
  guys,
• 9:46
  when
• 9:47
  we
• 9:47
  return,
• 9:47
  we

  We'll

• 12:46

• 12:47
  Johnny
• 12:47
  and
• 12:47
  I
• 12:47
  have
• 12:48
  been
• 12:48
  sitting
• 12:48
  here

• 12:53
  And
• 12:53
  I
• 12:53
  tell
• 12:54
  you
• 12:54
  what,
• 12:54
  man,
• 12:54
  it's
• 12:55
  so
• 12:55
  interesting
• 12:55
  out
• 12:55
  there
• 12:56
  watching
• 12:57
  prices
• 12:58
  fluctuate
• 12:58
  and
• 12:59
  styles
• 12:59
  changing.
• 13:00
  It's
• 13:00
  that
• 13:00
  time
• 13:00
  of
• 13:00
  year
• 13:01
  that
• 13:01
  we're
• 13:01
  going
• 13:01
  to
• 13:01
  see.
• 13:02
  It
• 13:02
  seems
• 13:03
  between
• 13:03
  October
• 13:04
  and
• 13:04
  February
• 13:05
  are
• 13:05
  where
• 13:05
  many
• 13:06
  of
• 13:06
  the
• 13:06
  price
• 13:06
  changes
• 13:07
  for
• 13:08
  like
• 13:08
  plumbing
• 13:08
  and
• 13:09
  cabinetry
• 13:09
  and
• 13:09
  stuff.
• 13:10
  Because
• 13:10
  here's
• 13:11
  what
• 13:11
  happens.
• 13:11
  And
• 13:12
  I've
• 13:12
  noticed
• 13:12
  that
• 13:12
  everything
• 13:13
  drives
• 13:13
  around
• 13:14
  the
• 13:14
  kitchen
• 13:15
  and
• 13:15
  bath
• 13:15
  industry
• 13:15
  show,
• 13:16
  or
• 13:16
  what
• 13:16
  they
• 13:16
  call
• 13:16
  design
• 13:17
  and
• 13:17
  construction
• 13:17
  week,
• 13:18
  because
• 13:18
  that's
• 13:19
  in
• 13:19
  February.
• 13:20
  So
• 13:21
  all
• 13:21
  the
• 13:21
  new
• 13:21
  products
• 13:22
  tend
• 13:22
  to
• 13:22
  come
• 13:23
  out
• 13:23
  in
• 13:23
  February
• 13:24
  or
• 13:24
  get
• 13:24
  announced,
• 13:25
  whether
• 13:25
  they're
• 13:26
  going
• 13:26
  to
• 13:26
  be
• 13:26
  coming
• 13:26
  out
• 13:26
  in
• 13:26
  the
• 13:26
  summer
• 13:27
  or
• 13:27
  the
• 13:27
  fall.
• 13:28
  That's
• 13:28
  the
• 13:28
  new
• 13:28
  stuff.
• 13:29
  And
• 13:29
  so
• 13:29
  we
• 13:29
  start
• 13:30
  to
• 13:30
  see
• 13:30
  now
• 13:30
  where
• 13:31
  this
• 13:32
  is
• 13:32
  the
• 13:32
  time
• 13:32
  of
• 13:32
  year
• 13:32
  where
• 13:32
  we
• 13:33
  start
• 13:33
  to
• 13:33
  see
• 13:33
  any
• 13:33
  price
• 13:34
  increases
• 13:34
  or
• 13:34
  price
• 13:35
  adjustments
• 13:35
  happen.
• 13:36
  Rarely
• 13:37
  do
• 13:37
  they
• 13:37
  go
• 13:37
  down,
• 13:38
  but
• 13:39
  usually
• 13:39
  this
• 13:39
  time
• 13:39
  of
• 13:39
  year
• 13:40
  is
• 13:40
  where
• 13:40
  we
• 13:40
  see
• 13:40
  them
• 13:40
  starting
• 13:41
  to
• 13:41
  go
• 13:41
  up.
• 13:42
  And
• 13:42
  you.
• 13:43
  I
• 13:43
  was.
• 13:43
  You're
• 13:43
  gonna
• 13:43
  laugh
• 13:44
  about
• 13:44
  this
• 13:44
  one
• 13:44
  I
• 13:45
  was
• 13:45
  in.
• 13:45
  And
• 13:46
  here's
• 13:46
  another
• 13:46
  one,
• 13:46
  just
• 13:46
  a
• 13:47
  little
• 13:47
  side
• 13:47
  mark.
• 13:47
  I
• 13:47
  want
• 13:48
  to
• 13:48
  hit
• 13:48
  on
• 13:48
  this.
• 13:49
  I
• 13:49
  was
• 13:49
  in
• 13:50
  Seattle
• 13:50
  last
• 13:50
  weekend,
• 13:51
  and
• 13:51
  I
• 13:51
  was
• 13:51
  listening
• 13:51
  to
• 13:51
  the
• 13:51
  radio,
• 13:52
  and
• 13:52
  I
• 13:53
  heard
• 13:53
  my.
• 13:53
  One
• 13:53
  of
• 13:54
  my
• 13:54
  favorite
• 13:54
  companies,
• 13:55
  and
• 13:55
  I'm
• 13:55
  not
• 13:55
  going
• 13:56
  to
• 13:56
  bring
• 13:56
  up,
• 13:56
  up
• 13:56
  in
• 13:56
  Seattle
• 13:57
  advertising
• 13:59
  kitchen
• 13:59
  and
• 13:59
  bath
• 14:00
  projects
• 14:01
  that
• 14:01
  are

  you
• 14:03
  call
• 14:03
  now,
• 14:04
  we

• 14:05
  your
• 14:05
  kitchen
• 14:06
  or
• 14:07
  bathroom
• 14:07
  remodeled
• 14:08
  for
• 14:09
  the
• 14:09
  holidays.
• 14:10
  They
• 14:10
  did?
• 14:11
  Yeah.
• 14:11
  No,
• 14:11
  you
• 14:12
  got
• 14:12
  to
• 14:12
  be
• 14:12
  desperate.
• 14:13
  You
• 14:13
  got
• 14:13
  to
• 14:13
  be
• 14:13
  desperate.
• 14:14
  Don't
• 14:15
  fall
• 14:15
  for
• 14:15
  the
• 14:15
  trap,
• 14:15
  guys.
• 14:16
  Yeah.
• 14:17
  If
• 14:17
  they
• 14:17
  get
• 14:17
  more
• 14:17
  than
• 14:18
  two
• 14:18
  calls,
• 14:18
  they're
• 14:18
  in
• 14:19
  deep
• 14:19
  trouble.
• 14:19
  Yeah,
• 14:20
  absolutely.
• 14:21
  They
• 14:21
  are.
• 14:22
  They
• 14:22
  are.
• 14:22
  You
• 14:22
  and
• 14:22
  I
• 14:23
  know
• 14:23
  it's,
• 14:23
  oh,
• 14:23
  no,
• 14:23
  here
• 14:24
  we
• 14:24
  go.
• 14:24
  I
• 14:24
  don't
• 14:25
  care
• 14:25
  if
• 14:25
  you
• 14:25
  can
• 14:25
  get
• 14:25
  cabinets
• 14:26
  in
• 14:26
  three
• 14:26
  weeks,
• 14:27
  you're
• 14:27
  in
• 14:28
  trouble.
• 14:28
  You're
• 14:29
  in
• 14:29
  deep
• 14:29
  trouble.
• 14:29
  There's
• 14:30
  no
• 14:30
  way
• 14:31
  you're
• 14:31
  gonna
• 14:31
  get
• 14:31
  a
• 14:32
  properly
• 14:32
  done
• 14:32
  kitchen
• 14:33
  remodel
• 14:33
  at
• 14:34
  the
• 14:34
  end
• 14:34
  of
• 14:34
  October.
• 14:35
  Done
• 14:36
  and
• 14:36
  done
• 14:37
  by
• 14:37
  Thanksgiving.
• 14:38
  Ain't
• 14:38
  gonna
• 14:38
  happen.
• 14:40
  I
• 14:40
  remodeled
• 14:40
  houses
• 14:41
  for
• 14:41
  30
• 14:41
  years,
• 14:42
  and
• 14:42
  the
• 14:42
  only
• 14:43
  thing
• 14:43
  I
• 14:43
  could
• 14:43
  be
• 14:43
  sure
• 14:44
  of
• 14:44
  is
• 14:45
  things
• 14:45
  go
• 14:45
  wrong.
• 14:46
  And
• 14:46
  the
• 14:46
  only
• 14:47
  thing
• 14:47
  you
• 14:47
  get
• 14:47
  better
• 14:48
  at
• 14:48
  is
• 14:48
  planning
• 14:49
  for
• 14:49
  that
• 14:50
  and
• 14:50
  expecting
• 14:51
  that
• 14:52
  and
• 14:52
  learning
• 14:53
  how
• 14:53
  to
• 14:53
  accept
• 14:54
  that.
• 14:56
  Sounds
• 14:56
  too
• 14:56
  good
• 14:57
  to
• 14:57
  be
• 14:57
  true.
• 14:57
  Probably
• 14:57
  is.
• 14:58
  That
• 14:58
  gets
• 14:58
  more
• 14:59
  true
• 14:59
  and
• 14:59
  more
• 14:59
  accurate
• 15:00
  the
• 15:00
  longer
• 15:00
  I
• 15:01
  live.
• 15:01
  Like,
• 15:02
  guys,
• 15:02
  Absolutely.
• 15:03
  What's
• 15:03
  funny?
• 15:03
  And
• 15:04
  it's
• 15:04
  like,
• 15:04
  I'm
• 15:04
  sitting
• 15:04
  there
• 15:04
  watching.
• 15:05
  There's
• 15:05
  a
• 15:05
  group
• 15:05
  that
• 15:06
  I
• 15:07
  am
• 15:07
  kind
• 15:07
  of
• 15:07
  an
• 15:08
  expert
• 15:08
  in.
• 15:08
  It's
• 15:08
  Ask
• 15:09
  a
• 15:09
  cabinet
• 15:09
  maker
• 15:10
  on
• 15:10
  Facebook.
• 15:10
  It's
• 15:10
  one
• 15:10
  of
• 15:11
  those
• 15:11
  big,
• 15:11
  huge
• 15:12
  Facebook
• 15:12
  groups,
• 15:13
  and
• 15:13
  it's
• 15:13
  a
• 15:13
  great
• 15:13
  group.
• 15:14
  But
• 15:14
  I
• 15:15
  tell
• 15:15
  you
• 15:15
  what,
• 15:16
  it
• 15:16
  shows
• 15:16
  you
• 15:17
  all
• 15:17
  the
• 15:17
  things
• 15:17
  that
• 15:18
  can
• 15:18
  go
• 15:18
  wrong
• 15:19
  in
• 15:19
  a
• 15:19
  kitchen
• 15:20
  and
• 15:20
  bath
• 15:20
  project
• 15:20
  with
• 15:20
  cabinetry
• 15:21
  on
• 15:21
  there.
• 15:21
  Because
• 15:22
  some
• 15:22
  of
• 15:22
  it,
• 15:23
  I'm
• 15:23
  like,
• 15:23
  who
• 15:23
  sent
• 15:24
  that
• 15:24
  out
• 15:24
  the
• 15:24
  door?
• 15:26
  What?
• 15:26
  What
• 15:26
  little
• 15:27
  custom
• 15:27
  cabinet
• 15:28
  shop
• 15:28
  sent
• 15:28
  this
• 15:29
  out
• 15:29
  the
• 15:29
  door?
• 15:29
  Oh,
• 15:30
  my
• 15:30
  gosh.
• 15:30
  And
• 15:31
  then
• 15:31
  you'll
• 15:31
  sit
• 15:31
  there.
• 15:31
  I'll
• 15:32
  sit
• 15:32
  there
• 15:32
  and
• 15:32
  go,
• 15:32
  hey,
• 15:32
  does
• 15:32
  it
• 15:33
  match
• 15:33
  your
• 15:33
  sample
• 15:34
  that
• 15:34
  you
• 15:34
  approve
• 15:35
  for
• 15:35
  production?
• 15:35
  What
• 15:36
  sample?
• 15:36
  And
• 15:37
  it's
• 15:37
  just
• 15:38
  this
• 15:38
  searcher
• 15:40
  yeah.
• 15:41
  Cabinetry
• 15:42
  is
• 15:42
  one
• 15:42
  of
• 15:42
  the
• 15:42
  most
• 15:43
  finicky
• 15:43
  and
• 15:44
  one
• 15:44
  of
• 15:44
  the
• 15:44
  most
• 15:45
  problematic
• 15:46
  pieces
• 15:46
  of
• 15:47
  it
• 15:48
  because
• 15:48
  even
• 15:49
  if
• 15:49
  they
• 15:49
  did
• 15:49
  get
• 15:49
  the
• 15:50
  finish
• 15:50
  right
• 15:50
  and
• 15:51
  they
• 15:51
  cut
• 15:51
  everything
• 15:52
  to
• 15:52
  the
• 15:52
  right
• 15:52
  size
• 15:53
  and
• 15:53
  everything
• 15:54
  functions
• 15:54
  correctly,
• 15:55
  something
• 15:55
  gets
• 15:56
  damaged
• 15:56
  in
• 15:56
  shipping
• 15:57
  or
• 15:57
  shipping
• 15:58
  gets
• 15:58
  held
• 15:58
  up
• 15:58
  or.
• 15:59
  And
• 15:59
  it's
• 15:59
  always
• 16:00
  so
• 16:00
  many
• 16:01
  things.
• 16:01
  It's
• 16:02
  always
• 16:02
  corner
• 16:03
  cabinet
• 16:03
  you
• 16:03
  need.
• 16:03
  It's
• 16:04
  just
• 16:04
  the.
• 16:04
  It's
• 16:04
  the.
• 16:05
  Or
• 16:05
  the
• 16:05
  sink
• 16:05
  cabinet.
• 16:06
  It's
• 16:06
  something
• 16:06
  you
• 16:06
  have
• 16:07
  to
• 16:07
  go
• 16:07
  to
• 16:07
  the
• 16:08
  next
• 16:08
  step.
• 16:08
  That's
• 16:08
  the
• 16:09
  next
• 16:09
  thing
• 16:09
  you
• 16:09
  know,
• 16:10
  you're
• 16:10
  two
• 16:10
  days
• 16:11
  from
• 16:11
  Thanksgiving
• 16:11
  and
• 16:12
  you've
• 16:12
  got
• 16:12
  a
• 16:12
  contractor
• 16:13
  that's
• 16:13
  trying
• 16:13
  to
• 16:14
  refabricate
• 16:15
  the
• 16:15
  cabinet
• 16:16
  that
• 16:16
  was
• 16:16
  built
• 16:17
  in
• 16:17
  a
• 16:17
  factory.
• 16:17
  And
• 16:18
  he's
• 16:18
  over
• 16:18
  there
• 16:18
  with
• 16:19
  a.
• 16:19
  A
• 16:19
  router
• 16:20
  and
• 16:20
  a
• 16:20
  handsaw,
• 16:21
  trying
• 16:21
  to
• 16:21
  jig
• 16:21
  it
• 16:21
  out
• 16:22
  so
• 16:22
  we
• 16:22
  can
• 16:22
  make
• 16:22
  it
• 16:22
  work
• 16:23
  and
• 16:23
  cut
• 16:23
  down
• 16:23
  the
• 16:23
  sideboard
• 16:24
  and
• 16:24
  nine.
• 16:25
  No.
• 16:26
  Yeah.
• 16:26
  You're
• 16:26
  getting
• 16:26
  a
• 16:27
  new
• 16:27
  kitchen
• 16:27
  that.
• 16:27
  That
• 16:28
  you've
• 16:28
  had
• 16:28
  to
• 16:28
  carry
• 16:29
  to
• 16:29
  put
• 16:30
  together.
• 16:30
  Right.
• 16:30
  It's
• 16:31
  just
• 16:31
  never
• 16:31
  totally.
• 16:32
  Yeah,
• 16:32
  yeah.
• 16:32
  Don't.
• 16:33
  Yeah.
• 16:33
  Don't
• 16:34
  short
• 16:34
  yourself,
• 16:34
  guys.
• 16:35
  It's
• 16:35
  not.
• 16:35
  Not
• 16:35
  for
• 16:36
  that
• 16:36
  kind
• 16:36
  of.
• 16:36
  Not
• 16:37
  for
• 16:37
  that
• 16:37
  kind
• 16:37
  of
• 16:37
  price
• 16:37
  tag.
• 16:38
  Right.
• 16:38
  Yeah.
• 16:39
  Do
• 16:39
  you
• 16:39
  want
• 16:39
  it?
• 16:39
  Good.
• 16:40
  Do
• 16:40
  you
• 16:40
  want
• 16:40
  a
• 16:40
  fast.
• 16:41
  Which
• 16:41
  one
• 16:41
  would
• 16:41
  you
• 16:42
  like?
• 16:42
  Yep.
• 16:43
  You
• 16:43
  only
• 16:43
  get
• 16:43
  one.
• 16:44
  Another
• 16:45
  one
• 16:45
  on
• 16:45
  here
• 16:45
  that
• 16:45
  I
• 16:45
  thought
• 16:45
  was
• 16:46
  interesting
• 16:46
  that
• 16:46
  I
• 16:46
  had
• 16:46
  put
• 16:47
  on
• 16:47
  this
• 16:47
  list.
• 16:47
  Just
• 16:48
  kind
• 16:48
  of
• 16:48
  working
• 16:48
  through
• 16:48
  it.
• 16:49
  If
• 16:49
  you
• 16:50
  want
• 16:50
  their
• 16:50
  best
• 16:50
  return
• 16:50
  on
• 16:51
  investment,
• 16:51
  opt
• 16:52
  for
• 16:52
  the
• 16:52
  mid
• 16:52
  range
• 16:52
  kitchen
• 16:53
  model
• 16:53
  over
• 16:53
  the
• 16:54
  upscale
• 16:54
  one.
• 16:54
  That
• 16:55
  upscale
• 16:55
  one
• 16:55
  that
• 16:56
  we're
• 16:56
  seeing
• 16:56
  on
• 16:56
  that
• 16:57
  report
• 16:57
  just
• 16:58
  doesn't
• 16:59
  pan
• 16:59
  out
• 17:00
  for
• 17:00
  you
• 17:00
  on
• 17:00
  the
• 17:00
  return.
• 17:01
  And
• 17:01
  you
• 17:02
  can
• 17:02
  still
• 17:02
  do
• 17:02
  the
• 17:02
  stuff
• 17:03
  you
• 17:03
  want,
• 17:03
  but
• 17:03
  you
• 17:03
  just
• 17:03
  need
• 17:04
  to
• 17:04
  be
• 17:04
  careful.
• 17:04
  Maybe
• 17:05
  you
• 17:05
  don't
• 17:05
  spend
• 17:05
  the
• 17:05
  money
• 17:06
  on
• 17:06
  the
• 17:06
  Wolf
• 17:06
  Sub
• 17:07
  Zero
• 17:07
  right
• 17:07
  now,
• 17:07
  but
• 17:08
  you
• 17:08
  put
• 17:08
  in
• 17:08
  the.
• 17:08
  Instead
• 17:09
  of
• 17:09
  a
• 17:09
  laminate
• 17:09
  countertop,
• 17:10
  you
• 17:10
  put
• 17:10
  quartz
• 17:11
  in
• 17:11
  or
• 17:11
  one
• 17:12
  of
• 17:12
  the
• 17:12
  more
• 17:12
  solid
• 17:13
  countertop
• 17:14
  materials
• 17:14
  other
• 17:15
  than
• 17:15
  a
• 17:15
  laminar
• 17:15
  or
• 17:15
  tile,
• 17:16
  and
• 17:16
  you
• 17:16
  come
• 17:17
  out
• 17:17
  okay
• 17:17
  with
• 17:17
  that
• 17:17
  and
• 17:18
  not
• 17:18
  get
• 17:18
  too
• 17:19
  upside
• 17:19
  down
• 17:20
  in
• 17:20
  your
• 17:20
  project.
• 17:21
  Yeah.
• 17:22
  And
• 17:22
  again,
• 17:23
  so
• 17:23
  many
• 17:23
  factors.
• 17:23
  Right.
• 17:24
  What's
• 17:24
  the
• 17:25
  neighborhood
• 17:25
  like?
• 17:25
  What
• 17:25
  are
• 17:26
  you
• 17:26
  up
• 17:26
  against?
• 17:27
  But
• 17:27
  generally
• 17:28
  speaking,
• 17:28
  when
• 17:29
  you
• 17:29
  go
• 17:29
  for
• 17:29
  the
• 17:29
  upscale,
• 17:30
  it's
• 17:30
  because
• 17:30
  it's
• 17:31
  like
• 17:31
  we're
• 17:31
  talking
• 17:32
  about
• 17:32
  earlier.
• 17:32
  It's
• 17:32
  the
• 17:33
  things
• 17:33
  you
• 17:33
  want.
• 17:34
  Oh,
• 17:34
  I
• 17:34
  really
• 17:35
  want
• 17:35
  this
• 17:36
  corner
• 17:36
  jacuzzi
• 17:37
  tub
• 17:37
  to
• 17:37
  fit
• 17:37
  right
• 17:38
  next
• 17:38
  to
• 17:38
  my
• 17:38
  bookshelf
• 17:39
  in
• 17:39
  my
• 17:39
  shoe
• 17:40
  closet.
• 17:40
  Like,
• 17:41
  that's
• 17:42
  cool
• 17:42
  for
• 17:42
  you.
• 17:43
  Yeah.
• 17:43
  I
• 17:43
  understand
• 17:44
  you'll
• 17:44
  pay
• 17:44
  an
• 17:44
  extra
• 17:45
  40k
• 17:45
  for
• 17:46
  that,
• 17:46
  but
• 17:47
  the
• 17:47
  next
• 17:47
  person
• 17:47
  walks
• 17:48
  in
• 17:48
  is
• 17:48
  gonna
• 17:49
  hate
• 17:49
  that
• 17:49
  tub.
• 17:50
  And
• 17:50
  they
• 17:50
  don't
• 17:50
  have
• 17:51
  that
• 17:51
  many
• 17:51
  shoes.
• 17:52
  And
• 17:53
  you
• 17:53
  don't
• 17:53
  get
• 17:53
  it
• 17:54
  back.
• 17:54
  No,
• 17:55
  you
• 17:55
  don't
• 17:55
  and
• 17:56
  it
• 17:56
  never
• 17:56
  works
• 17:56
  and
• 17:57
  never
• 17:57
  works
• 17:57
  in
• 17:57
  your
• 17:58
  favor.
• 17:58
  And
• 17:58
  we
• 17:59
  see
• 17:59
  that
• 17:59
  so
• 17:59
  many
• 17:59
  times.
• 18:00
  And
• 18:00
  then
• 18:00
  when
• 18:00
  you're
• 18:01
  rushing
• 18:01
  stuff,
• 18:02
  anytime
• 18:03
  that
• 18:03
  you're
• 18:03
  rushing
• 18:03
  stuff
• 18:04
  through,
• 18:04
  whether
• 18:04
  it's
• 18:04
  a
• 18:05
  window
• 18:05
  order,
• 18:05
  whether
• 18:06
  it's
• 18:06
  a
• 18:06
  door
• 18:06
  order,
• 18:07
  whether
• 18:07
  it's
• 18:08
  cabinetry,
• 18:09
  those
• 18:09
  crazy
• 18:10
  mistakes
• 18:10
  happen
• 18:11
  because
• 18:12
  it
• 18:12
  even
• 18:12
  gets
• 18:12
  worse
• 18:13
  if
• 18:13
  you
• 18:13
  order
• 18:13
  something
• 18:14
  wrong.
• 18:15
  Everybody
• 18:16
  gets
• 18:16
  the
• 18:17
  chance
• 18:17
  of
• 18:17
  the
• 18:17
  second
• 18:17
  time.
• 18:18
  Ordering
• 18:18
  is
• 18:19
  like
• 18:19
  10x
• 18:19
  more
• 18:20
  because
• 18:20
  they're
• 18:20
  in
• 18:20
  a
• 18:21
  hurry
• 18:21
  to
• 18:21
  get
• 18:21
  it
• 18:21
  for
• 18:21
  you
• 18:21
  for
• 18:22
  the
• 18:22
  holidays.
• 18:22
  So
• 18:23
  they're
• 18:23
  pushing
• 18:23
  it
• 18:23
  through
• 18:24
  real
• 18:24
  quick.
• 18:24
  They're
• 18:24
  not
• 18:25
  checking
• 18:25
  the
• 18:25
  details.
• 18:27
  Odds
• 18:27
  are
• 18:27
  that
• 18:28
  second
• 18:28
  time
• 18:28
  it's
• 18:29
  going
• 18:29
  to
• 18:29
  be
• 18:29
  wrong
• 18:29
  again
• 18:30
  in
• 18:30
  another.
• 18:32
  The
• 18:32
  faster
• 18:32
  we
• 18:32
  try
• 18:33
  to
• 18:33
  go,
• 18:34
  everybody
• 18:34
  starts
• 18:35
  getting
• 18:35
  a
• 18:35
  little
• 18:35
  bit
• 18:36
  sloppy
• 18:36
  and
• 18:37
  adequate
• 18:38
  gets
• 18:38
  the
• 18:38
  bar
• 18:39
  gets
• 18:39
  lower
• 18:39
  just
• 18:39
  a
• 18:40
  little
• 18:40
  bit
• 18:40
  for
• 18:40
  inadequate
• 18:41
  and
• 18:42
  just
• 18:42
  push
• 18:42
  it
• 18:42
  out.
• 18:42
  We
• 18:43
  got
• 18:43
  to
• 18:43
  get
• 18:43
  it
• 18:43
  out.
• 18:44
  And
• 18:44
  I
• 18:45
  get
• 18:45
  it,
• 18:45
  man.
• 18:45
  I'm
• 18:45
  an
• 18:46
  impatient
• 18:46
  son
• 18:46
  of
• 18:47
  a
• 18:47
  bee.
• 18:48
  No
• 18:48
  question
• 18:48
  about
• 18:49
  it.
• 18:49
  And
• 18:49
  I
• 18:49
  want
• 18:50
  it
• 18:50
  now.
• 18:50
  And
• 18:50
  I,
• 18:50
  when
• 18:51
  I
• 18:51
  decide
• 18:51
  I
• 18:51
  want.
• 18:51
  Yeah.
• 18:52
  But
• 18:53
  the
• 18:53
  fact
• 18:53
  of
• 18:54
  the
• 18:54
  matter
• 18:54
  is
• 18:54
  I
• 18:55
  can
• 18:55
  give
• 18:55
  this
• 18:55
  advice
• 18:56
  because
• 18:56
  I
• 18:56
  have
• 18:57
  paid
• 18:57
  that
• 18:57
  price
• 18:58
  a
• 18:58
  number
• 18:59
  of
• 18:59
  times.
• 19:00
  Like
• 19:00
  no,
• 19:00
  I
• 19:00
  can
• 19:01
  do,
• 19:01
  I
• 19:01
  can
• 19:01
  do.
• 19:01
  I
• 19:01
  can
• 19:01
  get
• 19:02
  that
• 19:02
  done
• 19:02
  in
• 19:02
  two
• 19:02
  weeks.
• 19:02
  I
• 19:03
  can
• 19:03
  do
• 19:03
  it.
• 19:03
  I
• 19:03
  can
• 19:03
  do
• 19:03
  it.
• 19:05
  I'm
• 19:05
  an,
• 19:05
  I'm
• 19:06
  a
• 19:06
  painfully
• 19:06
  eternal
• 19:07
  optimist.
• 19:08
  And
• 19:09
  even
• 19:09
  at
• 19:09
  my
• 19:09
  age
• 19:10
  now,
• 19:10
  even
• 19:10
  with
• 19:11
  all
• 19:11
  my
• 19:11
  experience,
• 19:11
  it'll
• 19:12
  still
• 19:12
  bite
• 19:12
  me
• 19:12
  in
• 19:12
  the
• 19:13
  butt.
• 19:13
  That's
• 19:13
  still.
• 19:14
  It
• 19:15
  still
• 19:15
  does.
• 19:15
  My
• 19:15
  house
• 19:16
  was
• 19:16
  that
• 19:16
  way.
• 19:16
  Oh,
• 19:16
  if
• 19:16
  I
• 19:17
  get
• 19:17
  this
• 19:17
  and
• 19:17
  this
• 19:18
  and
• 19:19
  then
• 19:19
  you
• 19:19
  find
• 19:20
  those
• 19:20
  other
• 19:20
  progress.
• 19:22
  It's
• 19:22
  crazy.
• 19:24
  It's
• 19:25
  like
• 19:25
  my
• 19:25
  house,
• 19:25
  I
• 19:25
  was
• 19:26
  going
• 19:26
  through
• 19:26
  it,
• 19:26
  I'm
• 19:26
  just
• 19:27
  jamming
• 19:27
  through
• 19:28
  and
• 19:28
  it
• 19:29
  was
• 19:29
  driving
• 19:30
  me
• 19:30
  insane
• 19:31
  because
• 19:31
  I
• 19:31
  was
• 19:31
  working
• 19:31
  through
• 19:32
  it,
• 19:32
  just
• 19:32
  going,
• 19:33
  okay.
• 19:33
  And
• 19:34
  then
• 19:34
  I'd
• 19:34
  find
• 19:34
  something
• 19:35
  stupid.
• 19:35
  Great
• 19:36
  example.
• 19:36
  I
• 19:36
  have
• 19:37
  Bloom
• 19:37
  pest
• 19:38
  control
• 19:38
  down
• 19:38
  on
• 19:38
  my
• 19:38
  crawl
• 19:39
  space
• 19:39
  this
• 19:39
  last
• 19:40
  week
• 19:40
  and
• 19:41
  I
• 19:41
  love
• 19:41
  those
• 19:41
  guys.
• 19:42
  They're
• 19:42
  based
• 19:42
  out
• 19:42
  of
• 19:42
  Portland
• 19:43
  here,
• 19:43
  their
• 19:43
  crawl
• 19:43
  space
• 19:44
  services
• 19:44
  are
• 19:44
  pest
• 19:45
  control.
• 19:46
  And
• 19:46
  they
• 19:46
  come
• 19:46
  up
• 19:47
  and
• 19:47
  they
• 19:47
  go,
• 19:47
  hey
• 19:47
  man,
• 19:48
  we
• 19:48
  found
• 19:48
  a
• 19:48
  little
• 19:48
  tiny
• 19:49
  leak
• 19:49
  in
• 19:49
  a
• 19:49
  pipe.
• 19:50
  Awesome.
• 19:51
  They're
• 19:52
  not
• 19:52
  plumbers.
• 19:52
  So
• 19:53
  I'm
• 19:53
  like,
• 19:53
  all
• 19:53
  right,
• 19:53
  I'm
• 19:53
  going
• 19:53
  to
• 19:54
  get
• 19:54
  down
• 19:54
  there.
• 19:55
  Somebody
• 19:56
  over
• 19:56
  the
• 19:57
  years
• 19:57
  had
• 19:57
  taken
• 19:58
  this
• 19:58
  looked
• 19:58
  like
• 19:58
  it
• 19:59
  was
• 19:59
  a
• 19:59
  1990s
• 20:00
  repair,
• 20:00
  right?
• 20:02
  Do
• 20:02
  you
• 20:02
  ever
• 20:02
  see
• 20:02
  those
• 20:03
  plumbing
• 20:03
  repair
• 20:03
  kits
• 20:04
  where
• 20:04
  they
• 20:04
  take
• 20:05
  it
• 20:05
  out
• 20:05
  of
• 20:05
  almost
• 20:05
  like
• 20:06
  fiberglass
• 20:06
  cast
• 20:07
  material
• 20:07
  and
• 20:08
  you
• 20:08
  wrap
• 20:08
  around
• 20:09
  it.
• 20:09
  They
• 20:10
  had
• 20:10
  done
• 20:10
  that
• 20:10
  on
• 20:11
  a
• 20:11
  three
• 20:11
  quarter
• 20:12
  inch
• 20:12
  water
• 20:13
  line
• 20:13
  on
• 20:13
  the
• 20:13
  main
• 20:14
  coming
• 20:14
  in
• 20:15
  and
• 20:15
  I
• 20:15
  think
• 20:15
  that
• 20:15
  they
• 20:16
  had
• 20:16
  not
• 20:16
  soldered
• 20:17
  the
• 20:17
  elbow
• 20:18
  correctly
• 20:19
  and
• 20:19
  it
• 20:19
  was
• 20:19
  dripping
• 20:20
  and
• 20:20
  they
• 20:21
  wrapped
• 20:21
  it
• 20:21
  in
• 20:22
  that.
• 20:23
  I
• 20:23
  get
• 20:24
  up
• 20:24
  there,
• 20:24
  I
• 20:24
  get,
• 20:24
  I'm
• 20:24
  like,
• 20:24
  what
• 20:25
  is
• 20:25
  this?
• 20:25
  It
• 20:25
  was
• 20:25
  just
• 20:25
  a
• 20:25
  little
• 20:26
  drip.
• 20:27
  Drip,
• 20:28
  yeah.
• 20:28
  On
• 20:29
  the
• 20:29
  dirt
• 20:29
  of
• 20:29
  the
• 20:29
  crawl
• 20:29
  space.
• 20:30
  It
• 20:30
  didn't
• 20:30
  matter.
• 20:31
  But
• 20:31
  when
• 20:31
  you've
• 20:32
  got
• 20:32
  black,
• 20:32
  thick
• 20:32
  black
• 20:33
  plastic
• 20:33
  down
• 20:33
  like
• 20:33
  you're
• 20:34
  supposed
• 20:34
  to
• 20:34
  for
• 20:34
  a
• 20:34
  vapor
• 20:34
  bear,
• 20:35
  now
• 20:35
  you
• 20:35
  got
• 20:36
  a
• 20:36
  little
• 20:36
  pool.
• 20:37
  Yep.
• 20:37
  I
• 20:37
  get
• 20:38
  down
• 20:38
  there.
• 20:38
  Had
• 20:38
  to
• 20:38
  cut
• 20:38
  it
• 20:38
  all
• 20:39
  out.
• 20:40
  It
• 20:40
  was
• 20:40
  an
• 20:40
  hour
• 20:41
  to
• 20:41
  do
• 20:42
  it,
• 20:42
  but
• 20:42
  still
• 20:43
  it's
• 20:43
  another
• 20:44
  hour
• 20:44
  because
• 20:45
  there's
• 20:45
  an
• 20:45
  hour
• 20:45
  off
• 20:46
  the
• 20:46
  schedule
• 20:46
  of
• 20:46
  the
• 20:46
  day.
• 20:47
  It's
• 20:47
  coming
• 20:47
  from
• 20:47
  someplace.
• 20:48
  Yeah,
• 20:50
  yeah.
• 20:50
  In
• 20:50
  that
• 20:51
  position,
• 20:51
  when
• 20:51
  you're
• 20:52
  trying
• 20:52
  to
• 20:52
  sell,
• 20:52
  it's
• 20:53
  always
• 20:54
  yeah.
• 20:54
  You
• 20:55
  remember
• 20:55
  how
• 20:55
  many
• 20:55
  4ams
• 20:56
  I'd
• 20:57
  run?
• 20:58
  Oh,
• 20:58
  yeah.
• 20:58
  What
• 20:58
  are
• 20:59
  you
• 20:59
  doing?
• 20:59
  I'm
• 20:59
  sawzalling
• 21:00
  out
• 21:00
  a
• 21:00
  window.
• 21:01
  That's
• 21:01
  not
• 21:01
  fitting.
• 21:02
  It's
• 21:02
  4am
• 21:03
  Dudley.
• 21:03
  I'm
• 21:04
  like,
• 21:04
  yeah,
• 21:04
  I'll
• 21:05
  buy
• 21:05
  the
• 21:05
  neighbors
• 21:05
  a
• 21:05
  steak.
• 21:06
  I
• 21:06
  gotta
• 21:06
  get
• 21:06
  this.
• 21:07
  The
• 21:07
  police
• 21:08
  are
• 21:08
  showing
• 21:08
  up.
• 21:08
  We
• 21:08
  gotta
• 21:09
  get
• 21:09
  this
• 21:09
  done.
• 21:09
  We
• 21:10
  gotta
• 21:10
  get
• 21:10
  this
• 21:10
  done.
• 21:11
  On
• 21:12
  that
• 21:12
  note,
• 21:12
  let's
• 21:13
  try
• 21:13
  not
• 21:13
  to
• 21:13
  break
• 21:13
  and
• 21:14
  pay
• 21:14
  the
• 21:14
  bills
• 21:14
  here,
• 21:14
  brother.
• 21:15
  Around
• 21:15
  the
• 21:15
  house.
• 21:15
  Be
• 21:15
  right
• 21:16
  back
• 21:16
  after
• 21:16
  these
• 21:16
  important
• 21:17
  messages.
• 21:17
  We're
• 21:18
  hitting
• 21:18
  the
• 21:18
  pause
• 21:19
  button
• 21:19
  to
• 21:19
  check
• 21:19
  our
• 21:19
  blueprints.
• 21:21
  Don't
• 21:21
  start
• 21:21
  remodeling
• 21:22
  without
• 21:22
  us.
• 21:23
  Around
• 21:23
  the
• 21:24
  house
• 21:24
  returns
• 21:24
  in
• 21:24
  a
• 21:25
  flash.
• 22:41
  Welcome
• 22:41
  back
• 22:41
  to
• 22:41
  the
• 22:42
  around
• 22:42
  the
• 22:42
  House
• 22:42
  show,
• 22:43
  your

  trusted
• 22:43
  source
• 22:43
  for
• 22:44

• 22:45
  Thanks
• 22:45
  for
• 22:45
  joining
• 22:46
  us
• 22:46
  today.
• 22:47
  Johnny
• 22:47
  D.
• 22:47
  And
• 22:47
  I
• 22:48
  have
• 22:48
  been
• 22:48
  sitting
• 22:48
  here
• 22:48
  talking
• 22:49
  about
• 22:49
  those
• 22:49
  top
• 22:50
  10
• 22:50
  projects,
• 22:51
  those
• 22:51
  things
• 22:51
  that
• 22:52
  you
• 22:52
  can
• 22:52
  do
• 22:52
  around
• 22:52
  the
• 22:52
  house
• 22:53
  that
• 22:53
  really
• 22:54
  can
• 22:54
  save
• 22:54
  you
• 22:55
  things
• 22:55
  on
• 22:55
  your
• 22:55
  next
• 22:56
  home
• 22:56
  improvement
• 22:56
  project,
• 22:56
  those
• 22:57
  tips
• 22:57
  and
• 22:57
  tricks.
• 22:58
  And
• 22:58
  I
• 22:58
  tell
• 22:59
  you
• 22:59
  what,
• 22:59
  man,
• 23:00
  I
• 23:00
  think
• 23:00
  one
• 23:00
  of
• 23:00
  the
• 23:00
  most
• 23:01
  important
• 23:01
  ones
• 23:02
  is
• 23:03
  if
• 23:03
  you're
• 23:04
  going
• 23:04
  to
• 23:04
  work
• 23:05
  with
• 23:05
  a
• 23:05
  contractor,
• 23:06
  get
• 23:07
  the
• 23:07
  multiple
• 23:08
  quotes
• 23:09
  and
• 23:09
  put
• 23:10
  in
• 23:10
  that
• 23:10
  contingency
• 23:11
  fund
• 23:11
  for
• 23:12
  when
• 23:12
  stuff
• 23:12
  goes
• 23:12
  sideways.
• 23:14
  Think
• 23:14
  about
• 23:14
  how
• 23:14
  many
• 23:14
  times
• 23:15
  you
• 23:15
  get
• 23:15
  into,
• 23:15
  especially
• 23:16
  here,
• 23:16
  like
• 23:16
  in
• 23:16
  our
• 23:17
  area.
• 23:17
  Dry
• 23:18
  rot
• 23:18
  in
• 23:19
  the
• 23:19
  Pacific
• 23:19
  Northwest
• 23:20
  is
• 23:20
  big,
• 23:21
  where
• 23:21
  something's
• 23:22
  been
• 23:22
  leaking
• 23:22
  for
• 23:22
  20
• 23:23
  years
• 23:23
  and
• 23:23
  nobody
• 23:24
  knows.
• 23:24
  And
• 23:24
  you
• 23:24
  go
• 23:24
  to
• 23:25
  swap
• 23:25
  out
• 23:25
  a
• 23:25
  window
• 23:26
  and
• 23:26
  it's
• 23:26
  like,
• 23:27
  all
• 23:27
  right,
• 23:27
  we
• 23:27
  gotta
• 23:28
  do
• 23:28
  siding
• 23:28
  and
• 23:29
  some
• 23:29
  two
• 23:29
  by
• 23:29
  fours
• 23:29
  while
• 23:30
  we're
• 23:30
  at
• 23:30
  it.
• 23:30
  Now,
• 23:30
  because
• 23:30
  you're
• 23:31
  reframing
• 23:31
  stuff,
• 23:31
  it
• 23:32
  happens
• 23:32
  more
• 23:32
  often
• 23:32
  than
• 23:33
  you
• 23:33
  think.
• 23:33
  Because
• 23:34
  back
• 23:34
  in
• 23:35
  the
• 23:35
  60s
• 23:35
  and
• 23:36
  70s
• 23:36
  and
• 23:36
  even
• 23:36
  80s,
• 23:37
  they
• 23:37
  weren't
• 23:37
  flashing
• 23:38
  things
• 23:38
  correctly.
• 23:39
  And
• 23:39
  that
• 23:39
  water.
• 23:40
  All
• 23:40
  somebody
• 23:41
  has
• 23:41
  to
• 23:41
  do
• 23:41
  is
• 23:41
  Ms.
• 23:42
  Mix,
• 23:42
  Ms.
• 23:42
  A
• 23:42
  little
• 23:43
  bit
• 23:43
  of
• 23:43
  that
• 23:43
  caulking.
• 23:44
  They're
• 23:44
  in
• 23:45
  a
• 23:45
  world
• 23:45
  of
• 23:45
  hurt.
• 23:46
  Happens
• 23:47
  a
• 23:47
  lot
• 23:48
  in
• 23:48
  the
• 23:48
  Northwest.
• 23:49
  That's
• 23:49
  where
• 23:50
  all
• 23:50
  my
• 23:50
  remodel
• 23:51
  experience
• 23:51
  was.
• 23:52
  And
• 23:52
  you
• 23:52
  just
• 23:53
  knew
• 23:53
  what
• 23:53
  was
• 23:53
  behind
• 23:53
  those
• 23:54
  walls.
• 23:54
  Especially
• 23:54
  in
• 23:55
  the
• 23:55
  older
• 23:55
  houses,
• 23:56
  this
• 23:57
  turn
• 23:57
  of
• 23:57
  the
• 23:57
  centuries,
• 23:58
  up
• 23:58
  to
• 23:58
  the
• 23:58
  30s,
• 23:59
  always
• 23:59
  something.
• 24:00
  You're
• 24:00
  like,
• 24:00
  oh,
• 24:00
  no,
• 24:01
  man.
• 24:02
  Including
• 24:02
  one
• 24:02
  dimensional
• 24:03
  lumber
• 24:03
  or
• 24:03
  full
• 24:04
  dimensional
• 24:04
  lumber
• 24:04
  changes
• 24:05
  how,
• 24:06
  you
• 24:06
  know,
• 24:06
  everything's
• 24:07
  gonna
• 24:07
  fit
• 24:08
  and.
• 24:08
  Yeah,
• 24:09
  yeah.
• 24:10
  And
• 24:10
  what's
• 24:10
  so
• 24:10
  fun
• 24:11
  for
• 24:11
  me,
• 24:11
  and
• 24:11
  this
• 24:11
  is
• 24:11
  one
• 24:12
  of
• 24:12
  the
• 24:12
  things
• 24:12
  I
• 24:12
  love
• 24:12
  traveling
• 24:13
  across
• 24:13
  the
• 24:13
  country,
• 24:14
  giving
• 24:15
  seminars
• 24:15
  and
• 24:16
  doing
• 24:16
  things
• 24:16
  like
• 24:16
  that,
• 24:17
  is
• 24:17
  I've
• 24:18
  enjoyed
• 24:18
  seeing
• 24:19
  how
• 24:19
  people
• 24:19
  build
• 24:20
  things
• 24:20
  in
• 24:20
  other
• 24:21
  areas.
• 24:21
  So
• 24:22
  we
• 24:22
  build
• 24:22
  things
• 24:22
  one
• 24:23
  way
• 24:23
  in
• 24:23
  the
• 24:23
  Pacific
• 24:23
  Northwest.
• 24:24
  But
• 24:25
  if
• 24:25
  you
• 24:25
  go
• 24:26
  down
• 24:26
  and
• 24:26
  watch
• 24:26
  a
• 24:27
  new
• 24:27
  construction
• 24:28
  house
• 24:28
  in
• 24:28
  Phoenix,
• 24:29
  for
• 24:29
  instance,
• 24:30
  I've
• 24:30
  watched
• 24:31
  it
• 24:31
  down
• 24:31
  there,
• 24:31
  and
• 24:31
  I'm
• 24:31
  watching
• 24:32
  them
• 24:32
  pour
• 24:32
  concrete
• 24:33
  slab
• 24:33
  on
• 24:33
  grade,
• 24:34
  where
• 24:34
  up
• 24:34
  here
• 24:34
  we
• 24:34
  have
• 24:34
  crawl
• 24:35
  spaces
• 24:36
  slab
• 24:36
  on
• 24:36
  grade.
• 24:37
  And
• 24:38
  they're
• 24:38
  just
• 24:38
  pouring
• 24:39
  right
• 24:39
  on
• 24:39
  the
• 24:39
  dirt.
• 24:40
  Yeah.
• 24:43
  And
• 24:43
  there's
• 24:44
  no
• 24:44
  ins.
• 24:44
  Now
• 24:44
  up
• 24:45
  here
• 24:45
  we
• 24:45
  have
• 24:45
  to
• 24:45
  have
• 24:45
  insulation
• 24:46
  and
• 24:46
  steel,
• 24:46
  and
• 24:47
  they're.
• 24:48
  They're
• 24:48
  just
• 24:48
  basically
• 24:49
  pouring
• 24:49
  it
• 24:49
  right
• 24:49
  on
• 24:49
  the
• 24:50
  dry
• 24:50
  dirt.
• 24:50
  And
• 24:50
  I
• 24:50
  was
• 24:50
  like,
• 24:51
  holy
• 24:51
  smokes.
• 24:51
  That's
• 24:52
  not
• 24:52
  how
• 24:52
  we
• 24:52
  do
• 24:52
  it
• 24:52
  here.
• 24:53
  Yeah,
• 24:53
  it's
• 24:54
  way
• 24:54
  different.
• 24:54
  I
• 24:55
  did.
• 24:56
  I
• 24:56
  was
• 24:56
  in
• 24:56
  Arizona
• 24:57
  for
• 24:57
  eight
• 24:57
  years
• 24:58
  and
• 24:58
  did
• 24:58
  some
• 24:58
  construction
• 24:59
  there.
• 25:00
  Yeah,
• 25:00
  man.
• 25:00
  That's
• 25:01
  that
• 25:02
  there
• 25:02
  are
• 25:02
  no
• 25:02
  crawl
• 25:03
  spaces.
• 25:04
  There's
• 25:04
  rarely
• 25:05
  a
• 25:05
  basement
• 25:06
  that's
• 25:07
  too
• 25:07
  hard.
• 25:07
  It
• 25:07
  doesn't
• 25:07
  happen.
• 25:08
  It
• 25:08
  just
• 25:08
  doesn't
• 25:09
  happen.
• 25:09
  So
• 25:09
  they
• 25:09
  do
• 25:09
  that
• 25:10
  there.
• 25:10
  And
• 25:11
  the
• 25:11
  other
• 25:11
  thing
• 25:11
  I
• 25:11
  was
• 25:11
  watching
• 25:12
  too,
• 25:12
  is
• 25:12
  these
• 25:12
  builders,
• 25:12
  they
• 25:13
  were
• 25:13
  actually.
• 25:13
  They
• 25:14
  had
• 25:14
  the
• 25:14
  drywall
• 25:14
  work
• 25:15
  done
• 25:16
  before
• 25:16
  they
• 25:16
  had
• 25:17
  windows
• 25:17
  in.
• 25:18
  And
• 25:18
  I'm
• 25:19
  watching
• 25:19
  them
• 25:19
  here
• 25:20
  on
• 25:20
  the
• 25:21
  west
• 25:21
  coast,
• 25:21
  you've
• 25:21
  got
• 25:22
  to
• 25:22
  have
• 25:22
  the
• 25:22
  house
• 25:22
  dried
• 25:23
  in
• 25:23
  first
• 25:24
  before
• 25:24
  you
• 25:24
  can
• 25:24
  even
• 25:25
  start
• 25:25
  on
• 25:25
  the
• 25:25
  electrical
• 25:26
  in
• 25:26
  there.
• 25:27
  And
• 25:27
  it's
• 25:27
  automatically
• 25:28
  dried
• 25:28
  in
• 25:29
  the
• 25:29
  desert.
• 25:30
  Until
• 25:30
  it's
• 25:31
  monsoon
• 25:31
  season.
• 25:31
  And
• 25:32
  then
• 25:32
  they've
• 25:32
  got
• 25:32
  10
• 25:32
  inches
• 25:33
  of
• 25:33
  water
• 25:33
  in
• 25:33
  two
• 25:34
  hours.
• 25:34
  But,
• 25:35
  yep,
• 25:35
  if
• 25:35
  you
• 25:36
  hit
• 25:36
  that
• 25:36
  one,
• 25:36
  you're
• 25:36
  in
• 25:36
  trouble.
• 25:37
  But
• 25:37
  I
• 25:37
  tell
• 25:38
  you
• 25:38
  what,
• 25:38
  I
• 25:38
  was
• 25:38
  so
• 25:38
  shocked
• 25:39
  in
• 25:39
  the
• 25:39
  dirt
• 25:39
  that
• 25:39
  was
• 25:40
  blowing
• 25:40
  inside
• 25:40
  these
• 25:40
  homes,
• 25:41
  I'm
• 25:41
  like,
• 25:41
  I
• 25:42
  don't
• 25:42
  know
• 25:42
  if
• 25:42
  I
• 25:42
  want
• 25:43
  that
• 25:43
  in
• 25:43
  my
• 25:43
  H
• 25:43
  Vac
• 25:44
  system.
• 25:44
  I
• 25:45
  don't
• 25:45
  know
• 25:45
  if
• 25:45
  I
• 25:45
  want
• 25:45
  that
• 25:46
  on
• 25:46
  my
• 25:46
  freshly
• 25:46
  painted
• 25:46
  walls
• 25:47
  because
• 25:47
  they
• 25:47
  haven't
• 25:47
  put
• 25:48
  windows
• 25:48
  in
• 25:48
  yet.
• 25:49
  It's
• 25:50
  so
• 25:50
  difficult
• 25:51
  to
• 25:51
  get.
• 25:52
  Not
• 25:52
  only
• 25:53
  to
• 25:53
  keep
• 25:53
  that
• 25:53
  out,
• 25:54
  but
• 25:54
  to
• 25:54
  get
• 25:55
  it
• 25:55
  all
• 25:55
  out.
• 25:56
  Yeah.
• 25:56
  And
• 25:57
  even
• 25:57
  in
• 25:57
  a
• 25:58
  really
• 25:58
  well
• 25:59
  built
• 26:00
  sealed
• 26:01
  house,
• 26:02
  that
• 26:02
  dirt
• 26:02
  is
• 26:02
  so
• 26:03
  fine,
• 26:03
  dude.
• 26:03
  And
• 26:04
  you
• 26:04
  get
• 26:04
  those
• 26:04
  haboobs
• 26:05
  and
• 26:06
  huge
• 26:06
  windstorms.
• 26:07
  It
• 26:07
  gets
• 26:08
  in
• 26:08
  everywhere.
• 26:09
  Oh,
• 26:10
  yeah.
• 26:10
  I
• 26:10
  just.
• 26:11
  Look
• 26:11
  at
• 26:11
  that
• 26:11
  go,
• 26:11
  man.
• 26:11
  I
• 26:12
  don't
• 26:12
  know
• 26:12
  if
• 26:12
  I
• 26:12
  want
• 26:12
  that.
• 26:13
  And
• 26:13
  then
• 26:13
  you
• 26:13
  go
• 26:13
  down
• 26:13
  to
• 26:13
  like
• 26:14
  Florida,
• 26:14
  for
• 26:14
  instance,
• 26:14
  or
• 26:15
  the
• 26:15
  Gulf
• 26:15
  coast
• 26:15
  states
• 26:15
  where
• 26:16
  they've
• 26:16
  got
• 26:17
  all
• 26:17
  those
• 26:17
  hurricane
• 26:17
  regulations
• 26:18
  now,
• 26:18
  which
• 26:19
  I
• 26:19
  like.
• 26:19
  But
• 26:19
  there's
• 26:20
  cables
• 26:21
  that
• 26:21
  come
• 26:21
  from
• 26:21
  the
• 26:22
  foundation
• 26:22
  that
• 26:22
  go
• 26:22
  all
• 26:23
  the
• 26:23
  way
• 26:23
  up
• 26:23
  through
• 26:24
  the
• 26:24
  top
• 26:24
  plate
• 26:25
  and
• 26:25
  Tie
• 26:25
  into
• 26:25
  the
• 26:26
  rafters,
• 26:26
  and
• 26:26
  you've
• 26:27
  got
• 26:27
  everything
• 26:27
  holding
• 26:28
  it
• 26:28
  down.
• 26:28
  I'm
• 26:28
  like,
• 26:28
  man,
• 26:29
  that
• 26:29
  is
• 26:29
  awesome.
• 26:29
  They
• 26:29
  should
• 26:29
  be
• 26:30
  doing
• 26:30
  that
• 26:30
  everywhere
• 26:30
  for
• 26:31
  earthquakes
• 26:32
  and
• 26:32
  everything
• 26:32
  else,
• 26:32
  but
• 26:33
  it
• 26:33
  is
• 26:34
  well
• 26:34
  built
• 26:35
  for
• 26:35
  that.
• 26:36
  And
• 26:36
  I
• 26:36
  think
• 26:36
  we
• 26:36
  could
• 26:37
  mix
• 26:37
  some
• 26:37
  of
• 26:37
  those.
• 26:38
  Those
• 26:38
  projects.
• 26:40
  I
• 26:40
  think
• 26:40
  you
• 26:40
  could
• 26:40
  sit
• 26:40
  there
• 26:41
  and
• 26:41
  put
• 26:41
  some
• 26:41
  of
• 26:41
  that
• 26:41
  technology
• 26:42
  into
• 26:42
  the
• 26:42
  west
• 26:42
  coast
• 26:43
  for
• 26:43
  earthquakes
• 26:43
  and
• 26:44
  things
• 26:44
  like
• 26:44
  that.
• 26:44
  That
• 26:44
  might
• 26:45
  help
• 26:45
  out
• 26:46
  if
• 26:46
  they
• 26:46
  thought
• 26:46
  about
• 26:46
  it
• 26:47
  a
• 26:47
  little
• 26:47
  bit
• 26:47
  more.
• 26:47
  But
• 26:48
  my
• 26:48
  point
• 26:49
  being,
• 26:49
  with
• 26:49
  this
• 26:49
  little
• 26:50
  bit
• 26:50
  of
• 26:50
  rant
• 26:50
  about
• 26:50
  how
• 26:50
  they
• 26:51
  build
• 26:51
  things
• 26:51
  is
• 26:51
  also,
• 26:52
  when
• 26:52
  you're
• 26:52
  out
• 26:52
  there
• 26:52
  talking
• 26:53
  about
• 26:54
  sometimes
• 26:54
  you'll
• 26:55
  have
• 26:55
  a
• 26:55
  builder
• 26:55
  that
• 26:55
  comes
• 26:56
  in
• 26:57
  out
• 26:57
  of
• 26:57
  another
• 26:57
  area.
• 26:58
  Oh,
• 26:58
  I
• 26:58
  just
• 26:58
  moved
• 26:59
  up
• 26:59
  from
• 26:59
  here.
• 27:00
  Yeah.
• 27:00
  Be
• 27:01
  careful.
• 27:01
  They
• 27:01
  might
• 27:02
  not
• 27:02
  have
• 27:02
  the
• 27:02
  subs
• 27:03
  lined
• 27:03
  up.
• 27:04
  And
• 27:04
  number
• 27:04
  two,
• 27:05
  they
• 27:05
  might
• 27:06
  be
• 27:06
  building
• 27:06
  things
• 27:06
  on
• 27:06
  a
• 27:07
  way
• 27:07
  different
• 27:07
  program
• 27:08
  than
• 27:08
  what's
• 27:08
  going
• 27:08
  to
• 27:08
  pass
• 27:09
  in
• 27:09
  your
• 27:09
  area,
• 27:09
  especially
• 27:09
  with
• 27:10
  building
• 27:10
  codes
• 27:10
  and
• 27:11
  trying
• 27:11
  to
• 27:11
  get
• 27:11
  away
• 27:11
  from
• 27:12
  stuff.
• 27:12
  Just
• 27:12
  because
• 27:12
  they
• 27:13
  were
• 27:13
  down
• 27:13
  in
• 27:13
  Texas
• 27:15
  doesn't
• 27:15
  mean
• 27:15
  that
• 27:15
  they're
• 27:16
  a
• 27:16
  great
• 27:16
  contractor.
• 27:16
  And
• 27:17
  it
• 27:17
  doesn't
• 27:17
  mean
• 27:17
  that
• 27:17
  they
• 27:17
  don't
• 27:17
  know
• 27:18
  how
• 27:18
  to
• 27:18
  build
• 27:18
  things
• 27:19
  to
• 27:19
  protect
• 27:20
  a
• 27:20
  bit
• 27:20
  against
• 27:20
  the
• 27:21
  moisture
• 27:21
  or
• 27:21
  whatever's
• 27:22
  in
• 27:22
  your
• 27:22
  area.
• 27:23
  Just
• 27:23
  as
• 27:24
  if
• 27:24
  you
• 27:24
  were
• 27:24
  in
• 27:24
  Florida
• 27:25
  and
• 27:25
  somebody
• 27:25
  came
• 27:25
  out
• 27:25
  from
• 27:26
  Seattle.
• 27:26
  You
• 27:26
  should
• 27:27
  be
• 27:27
  asking
• 27:27
  those
• 27:27
  same
• 27:27
  questions.
• 27:28
  Yeah,
• 27:29
  different
• 27:29
  is
• 27:30
  different.
• 27:30
  And
• 27:30
  if
• 27:30
  you
• 27:31
  want
• 27:31
  a
• 27:31
  real
• 27:31
  drastic
• 27:32
  example,
• 27:32
  come
• 27:32
  to
• 27:33
  Colombia.
• 27:33
  You're
• 27:33
  like,
• 27:33
  what,
• 27:34
  that?
• 27:34
  Huh?
• 27:35
  How
• 27:35
  is
• 27:36
  that
• 27:36
  going
• 27:36
  to
• 27:36
  work?
• 27:37
  Yeah,
• 27:37
  dude,
• 27:38
  you
• 27:38
  wouldn't
• 27:39
  believe
• 27:39
  some
• 27:39
  of
• 27:40
  the
• 27:40
  stuff
• 27:40
  I
• 27:40
  see
• 27:40
  down
• 27:40
  here
• 27:41
  when.
• 27:42
  I
• 27:42
  was
• 27:42
  working
• 27:42
  in
• 27:42
  a.
• 27:43
  Things
• 27:43
  like,
• 27:44
  there's
• 27:44
  things
• 27:44
  we
• 27:45
  count
• 27:45
  on.
• 27:46
  Yeah.
• 27:46
  Like,
• 27:47
  I
• 27:47
  had
• 27:47
  to
• 27:47
  go
• 27:47
  to
• 27:47
  three
• 27:48
  places
• 27:48
  and
• 27:48
  explain
• 27:49
  what
• 27:49
  plumber's
• 27:50
  putty
• 27:51
  was
• 27:51
  to
• 27:51
  these
• 27:51
  people.
• 27:52
  They're
• 27:52
  just
• 27:52
  like,
• 27:53
  no,
• 27:53
  just
• 27:54
  silicone
• 27:54
  cockpit
• 27:55
  drain
• 27:55
  into
• 27:55
  the
• 27:55
  sink.
• 27:56
  And
• 27:56
  I'm
• 27:56
  like,
• 27:56
  dude,
• 27:56
  I
• 27:57
  need
• 27:57
  plumber's
• 27:57
  putty.
• 27:58
  Dina?
• 27:58
  Yeah.
• 27:59
  What's
• 27:59
  putty?
• 27:59
  What's
• 28:00
  putty?
• 28:00
  You're
• 28:01
  like,
• 28:01
  oh,
• 28:01
  boy,
• 28:01
  it's
• 28:02
  gonna
• 28:02
  be
• 28:02
  a
• 28:02
  long
• 28:02
  day.
• 28:03
  When
• 28:03
  I
• 28:03
  was
• 28:03
  in
• 28:03
  El
• 28:03
  Salvador,
• 28:04
  I'd
• 28:04
  go
• 28:04
  down
• 28:04
  there.
• 28:05
  I
• 28:05
  probably
• 28:05
  have
• 28:05
  spent,
• 28:06
  what,
• 28:06
  six
• 28:06
  weeks
• 28:06
  in
• 28:07
  El
• 28:07
  Salvador
• 28:08
  over
• 28:08
  time,
• 28:08
  building
• 28:09
  down
• 28:09
  there
• 28:09
  and
• 28:11
  watching
• 28:11
  a
• 28:11
  mix
• 28:12
  concrete
• 28:12
  on
• 28:12
  the
• 28:13
  dirt.
• 28:13
  They
• 28:13
  literally
• 28:14
  just
• 28:14
  had
• 28:14
  a
• 28:14
  hard
• 28:14
  pan
• 28:15
  of
• 28:15
  dirt,
• 28:16
  and
• 28:16
  they
• 28:16
  would
• 28:16
  go
• 28:16
  in
• 28:17
  there
• 28:17
  and
• 28:19
  just
• 28:19
  sit
• 28:19
  there
• 28:20
  and
• 28:20
  level
• 28:20
  out
• 28:21
  this
• 28:21
  little
• 28:21
  area
• 28:21
  of
• 28:21
  dirt.
• 28:21
  And
• 28:21
  that
• 28:22
  would
• 28:22
  be
• 28:22
  where
• 28:22
  they
• 28:22
  were
• 28:22
  mixing
• 28:22
  concrete.
• 28:23
  And
• 28:23
  they'd
• 28:24
  mix
• 28:24
  it
• 28:24
  up
• 28:24
  right
• 28:24
  there
• 28:25
  and
• 28:25
  then
• 28:25
  shovel
• 28:25
  it
• 28:26
  right
• 28:26
  into
• 28:26
  the.
• 28:26
  Into
• 28:26
  the
• 28:26
  wheelbarrows.
• 28:27
  And
• 28:27
  it
• 28:27
  was
• 28:28
  just
• 28:28
  interesting.
• 28:29
  But
• 28:30
  they
• 28:30
  used
• 28:31
  for
• 28:32
  roof
• 28:32
  trusses
• 28:33
  because
• 28:33
  there's
• 28:33
  no
• 28:33
  snow
• 28:33
  load
• 28:34
  or
• 28:34
  anything
• 28:34
  like
• 28:34
  that.
• 28:35
  Roof
• 28:35
  trusses
• 28:36
  were
• 28:36
  made
• 28:36
  out
• 28:36
  of
• 28:36
  re.
• 28:37
  Welded
• 28:37
  rebar,
• 28:38
  and
• 28:39
  that's
• 28:39
  what
• 28:39
  they
• 28:40
  did.
• 28:40
  It
• 28:40
  was
• 28:40
  absolutely
• 28:41
  amazing
• 28:42
  to
• 28:42
  see
• 28:43
  that.
• 28:43
  And
• 28:44
  I'd
• 28:44
  never
• 28:44
  seen
• 28:45
  trusses
• 28:45
  made
• 28:45
  out
• 28:45
  of
• 28:46
  rebar,
• 28:46
  but
• 28:46
  that's
• 28:46
  what
• 28:46
  the
• 28:46
  whole
• 28:47
  roof
• 28:47
  system
• 28:47
  was
• 28:47
  made
• 28:47
  out
• 28:48
  of.
• 28:48
  And
• 28:48
  then
• 28:48
  you
• 28:48
  put
• 28:48
  basically
• 28:49
  you
• 28:49
  tied
• 28:50
  off
• 28:50
  metal
• 28:51
  roofing
• 28:51
  to
• 28:52
  that,
• 28:53
  and
• 28:53
  that
• 28:54
  was
• 28:54
  your
• 28:54
  roof
• 28:54
  system.
• 28:54
  So
• 28:55
  I
• 28:55
  was
• 28:55
  completely
• 28:56
  blown
• 28:56
  away
• 28:56
  at
• 28:56
  how
• 28:57
  that
• 28:57
  worked.
• 28:57
  That's
• 28:57
  craziness.
• 28:58
  Yeah.
• 28:59
  And
• 28:59
  that's
• 29:00
  how
• 29:00
  they
• 29:00
  build
• 29:00
  down
• 29:00
  there.
• 29:01
  Rebar
• 29:02
  trusses.
• 29:03
  Rebar
• 29:03
  trusses.
• 29:04
  They
• 29:04
  were
• 29:04
  this
• 29:04
  triangular
• 29:05
  shaped
• 29:06
  trust
• 29:07
  system,
• 29:07
  and
• 29:07
  they
• 29:07
  just
• 29:08
  basically
• 29:08
  had
• 29:08
  bent
• 29:09
  rebar
• 29:09
  down
• 29:09
  as
• 29:09
  a
• 29:10
  squiggle
• 29:10
  down
• 29:10
  the
• 29:10
  side
• 29:11
  of
• 29:11
  it
• 29:11
  and
• 29:11
  then
• 29:11
  tack
• 29:12
  welded
• 29:12
  it
• 29:12
  on
• 29:12
  there.
• 29:13
  And
• 29:13
  it
• 29:13
  was
• 29:14
  rebar
• 29:14
  crazy.
• 29:15
  Like,
• 29:15
  it
• 29:15
  basically
• 29:16
  looked
• 29:16
  like.
• 29:17
  And
• 29:17
  to
• 29:18
  me,
• 29:18
  that
• 29:18
  stuff's
• 29:18
  pretty
• 29:18
  flexible.
• 29:19
  It
• 29:19
  wasn't
• 29:19
  tied
• 29:19
  off,
• 29:20
  so
• 29:20
  it
• 29:20
  wasn't
• 29:20
  like
• 29:20
  you
• 29:20
  were
• 29:20
  doing
• 29:21
  pilings
• 29:21
  and
• 29:21
  you
• 29:21
  had
• 29:22
  to
• 29:22
  drop
• 29:22
  the
• 29:22
  cage
• 29:22
  down
• 29:22
  in
• 29:23
  there.
• 29:23
  But
• 29:23
  this
• 29:24
  was
• 29:24
  rebar
• 29:25
  trusses
• 29:25
  that
• 29:25
  were
• 29:25
  welded
• 29:26
  up.
• 29:27
  They
• 29:27
  were
• 29:27
  pretty
• 29:28
  strong
• 29:28
  up
• 29:29
  on
• 29:29
  it.
• 29:29
  And
• 29:29
  it
• 29:29
  held
• 29:29
  us.
• 29:30
  First
• 29:30
  time
• 29:30
  I
• 29:30
  got
• 29:30
  up
• 29:31
  on
• 29:31
  it,
• 29:31
  I'm
• 29:31
  like,
• 29:31
  yeah,
• 29:31
  I
• 29:31
  don't
• 29:32
  like
• 29:32
  this
• 29:32
  at
• 29:32
  all.
• 29:33
  This.
• 29:34
  And
• 29:34
  the
• 29:34
  local
• 29:34
  guys
• 29:34
  go,
• 29:35
  you'll
• 29:35
  be
• 29:35
  good.
• 29:35
  You'll
• 29:35
  be
• 29:36
  good.
• 29:36
  And
• 29:37
  there
• 29:38
  wouldn't
• 29:38
  be
• 29:38
  two
• 29:38
  of
• 29:38
  us
• 29:38
  up
• 29:38
  there.
• 29:39
  Let's
• 29:39
  put
• 29:39
  it
• 29:39
  that
• 29:39
  way.
• 29:40
  So
• 29:41
  that
• 29:41
  one
• 29:41
  was
• 29:42
  crazy.
• 29:42
  Now,
• 29:42
  the
• 29:42
  other
• 29:42
  one
• 29:43
  I
• 29:43
  want
• 29:43
  to
• 29:43
  talk
• 29:43
  about
• 29:43
  here
• 29:43
  before
• 29:44
  we
• 29:44
  go
• 29:44
  out
• 29:44
  to
• 29:44
  break,
• 29:44
  which
• 29:45
  is
• 29:46
  making
• 29:46
  sure
• 29:46
  that
• 29:47
  you're
• 29:47
  choosing
• 29:47
  those
• 29:47
  more
• 29:48
  neutral,
• 29:48
  timeless
• 29:49
  designs
• 29:49
  for
• 29:49
  broader
• 29:50
  appeal.
• 29:50
  And
• 29:51
  like
• 29:51
  we
• 29:51
  talked
• 29:51
  about
• 29:52
  earlier,
• 29:52
  if
• 29:52
  you're
• 29:52
  going
• 29:52
  to
• 29:52
  go
• 29:53
  crazy
• 29:53
  with
• 29:53
  the
• 29:53
  new
• 29:54
  Kohler
• 29:55
  avocado
• 29:55
  green
• 29:56
  toilet
• 29:56
  or
• 29:56
  something
• 29:56
  like
• 29:57
  that,
• 29:57
  make
• 29:58
  sure
• 29:58
  that
• 29:58
  you.
• 29:59
  That's
• 30:00
  for
• 30:00
  you.
• 30:00
  And
• 30:00
  know
• 30:00
  that
• 30:00
  you
• 30:01
  might
• 30:01
  have
• 30:01
  to
• 30:01
  change
• 30:01
  it
• 30:01
  out.
• 30:02
  Even
• 30:02
  in
• 30:02
  my
• 30:02
  house,
• 30:02
  I
• 30:03
  had
• 30:03
  my.
• 30:04
  My
• 30:04
  home
• 30:04
  office
• 30:05
  was
• 30:05
  this
• 30:05
  moody,
• 30:06
  purplish
• 30:07
  gray.
• 30:08
  Looked
• 30:08
  like
• 30:08
  a
• 30:08
  thunderstorm
• 30:09
  cloud
• 30:09
  on
• 30:10
  the
• 30:10
  walls.
• 30:11
  Yeah,
• 30:11
  I
• 30:11
  had
• 30:11
  to
• 30:12
  paint
• 30:12
  that
• 30:12
  back
• 30:12
  to
• 30:12
  white
• 30:12
  to
• 30:13
  put
• 30:13
  my
• 30:13
  house
• 30:13
  on
• 30:13
  the
• 30:13
  market.
• 30:14
  I
• 30:15
  wasn't
• 30:15
  stoked
• 30:15
  about
• 30:15
  it,
• 30:16
  but,
• 30:16
  you
• 30:16
  know,
• 30:16
  I
• 30:16
  had
• 30:16
  to
• 30:17
  redo
• 30:17
  a
• 30:17
  lot
• 30:17
  of
• 30:17
  my
• 30:17
  crazier
• 30:18
  colors
• 30:18
  in
• 30:19
  there
• 30:19
  because
• 30:20
  it
• 30:20
  made
• 30:20
  the
• 30:20
  room
• 30:20
  look
• 30:21
  small.
• 30:21
  I
• 30:21
  like
• 30:22
  the
• 30:22
  kind
• 30:22
  of
• 30:22
  moody
• 30:23
  den
• 30:24
  feel
• 30:24
  of
• 30:24
  it,
• 30:24
  but
• 30:25
  mass
• 30:26
  appeal.
• 30:27
  So
• 30:27
  just
• 30:27
  remember,
• 30:27
  when
• 30:28
  you
• 30:28
  get
• 30:28
  crazy
• 30:28
  stuff
• 30:29
  going
• 30:29
  on,
• 30:30
  even
• 30:30
  though
• 30:30
  you
• 30:31
  like
• 30:31
  it,
• 30:32
  most
• 30:32
  people
• 30:32
  probably
• 30:33
  don't.
• 30:34
  And
• 30:35
  not
• 30:35
  that
• 30:35
  you're
• 30:35
  building
• 30:35
  it
• 30:36
  for
• 30:36
  the
• 30:36
  next
• 30:36
  person,
• 30:37
  but
• 30:37
  you
• 30:37
  just
• 30:37
  want
• 30:37
  to
• 30:37
  make
• 30:37
  sure
• 30:38
  that
• 30:38
  you're
• 30:38
  okay
• 30:38
  with
• 30:39
  having
• 30:39
  to
• 30:39
  tear
• 30:39
  out
• 30:39
  what
• 30:39
  you're
• 30:40
  going
• 30:40
  to
• 30:40
  do
• 30:40
  if
• 30:41
  you're
• 30:41
  going
• 30:41
  off
• 30:41
  the
• 30:41
  reservation
• 30:42
  a
• 30:42
  little
• 30:42
  bit
• 30:42
  with
• 30:42
  colors
• 30:43
  and
• 30:43
  styles.
• 30:44
  Yeah.
• 30:44
  Like
• 30:44
  I
• 30:45
  said,
• 30:45
  that's
• 30:45
  part
• 30:46
  of
• 30:46
  the
• 30:46
  deal.
• 30:46
  Right.
• 30:47
  Say
• 30:47
  you're
• 30:47
  keeping
• 30:47
  it
• 30:48
  for
• 30:48
  five
• 30:48
  years,
• 30:49
  paint
• 30:49
  your
• 30:49
  bathroom
• 30:50
  whatever
• 30:50
  color
• 30:50
  you
• 30:51
  want,
• 30:51
  because
• 30:51
  that's,
• 30:52
  that's
• 30:52
  a
• 30:52
  gift
• 30:53
  to
• 30:53
  you.
• 30:53
  That's
• 30:53
  for
• 30:54
  you.
• 30:55
  Be
• 30:55
  willing
• 30:55
  to
• 30:55
  accept
• 30:56
  the
• 30:56
  consequence
• 30:56
  that
• 30:57
  you're
• 30:57
  gonna
• 30:57
  have
• 30:57
  to
• 30:57
  swap
• 30:57
  the
• 30:58
  avocado
• 30:58
  green
• 30:59
  toilet.
• 31:00
  One
• 31:00
  of
• 31:00
  the
• 31:00
  other
• 31:00
  ones
• 31:01
  here
• 31:01
  I
• 31:01
  thought
• 31:02
  was
• 31:02
  a
• 31:02
  great
• 31:03
  tip
• 31:03
  for
• 31:03
  people
• 31:04
  is
• 31:04
  do
• 31:05
  your
• 31:05
  research
• 31:05
  and,
• 31:06
  and
• 31:07
  leverage
• 31:07
  kind
• 31:07
  of
• 31:08
  this
• 31:08
  industry
• 31:08
  data
• 31:09
  that
• 31:09
  we
• 31:09
  talk
• 31:09
  about,
• 31:10
  like
• 31:10
  on
• 31:10
  the
• 31:10
  show
• 31:10
  here
• 31:11
  when
• 31:11
  you're
• 31:12
  negotiating
• 31:12
  with
• 31:12
  contractors,
• 31:13
  because
• 31:13
  we,
• 31:13
  you
• 31:14
  know
• 31:14
  now
• 31:14
  what
• 31:14
  the
• 31:14
  prices
• 31:15
  are
• 31:15
  out
• 31:15
  there.
• 31:16
  If
• 31:17
  you're
• 31:17
  seeing
• 31:17
  if
• 31:18
  you're
• 31:18
  doing
• 31:18
  a
• 31:18
  great
• 31:19
  job
• 31:19
  of
• 31:20
  understanding
• 31:20
  where
• 31:20
  the
• 31:21
  materials
• 31:21
  are
• 31:21
  coming
• 31:21
  from,
• 31:22
  how
• 31:23
  much
• 31:23
  the
• 31:23
  labor
• 31:23
  is
• 31:24
  versus
• 31:24
  that
• 31:24
  you
• 31:25
  can
• 31:25
  really
• 31:25
  dial
• 31:26
  in
• 31:26
  your
• 31:27
  choices
• 31:27
  to
• 31:27
  get
• 31:28
  the
• 31:28
  best
• 31:28
  value.
• 31:30
  Yeah,
• 31:30
  for
• 31:30
  sure.
• 31:31
  However
• 31:31
  common,
• 31:32
  I
• 31:32
  will
• 31:32
  say
• 31:32
  this,
• 31:33
  and
• 31:33
  this
• 31:33
  is
• 31:34
  one
• 31:35
  asterisk
• 31:35
  to
• 31:36
  doing
• 31:36
  this.
• 31:37
  If
• 31:37
  your
• 31:37
  contractor
• 31:38
  likes
• 31:39
  to
• 31:39
  use
• 31:39
  brand
• 31:40
  A
• 31:40
  for
• 31:40
  Windows
• 31:42
  and
• 31:42
  you're
• 31:42
  saying,
• 31:42
  I
• 31:43
  want
• 31:43
  you
• 31:43
  to
• 31:43
  use
• 31:44
  brand
• 31:44
  C
• 31:44
  that
• 31:44
  they've
• 31:45
  never
• 31:45
  used,
• 31:46
  you
• 31:46
  could
• 31:46
  also
• 31:47
  be
• 31:47
  causing
• 31:47
  a
• 31:47
  problem
• 31:48
  where
• 31:48
  you're
• 31:48
  owning
• 31:49
  some
• 31:49
  liability
• 31:50
  if
• 31:50
  things
• 31:50
  don't
• 31:50
  work
• 31:51
  out.
• 31:52
  Because
• 31:52
  now,
• 31:53
  and
• 31:53
  I've
• 31:53
  always
• 31:53
  said
• 31:53
  this
• 31:53
  with
• 31:54
  cabinetry,
• 31:54
  I've
• 31:55
  seen
• 31:55
  so
• 31:55
  many
• 31:55
  homeowners
• 31:56
  walk
• 31:56
  in
• 31:57
  to
• 31:57
  a
• 31:58
  custom
• 31:58
  cabinet
• 31:58
  shop
• 31:59
  and
• 31:59
  demand
• 31:59
  that
• 31:59
  they
• 31:59
  want
• 32:00
  this
• 32:00
  finish
• 32:00
  on
• 32:01
  the
• 32:01
  cabinets,
• 32:02
  and
• 32:02
  then
• 32:03
  when
• 32:03
  it
• 32:03
  turns
• 32:03
  out
• 32:03
  horribly,
• 32:05
  they
• 32:05
  want
• 32:05
  the
• 32:05
  cabinet
• 32:06
  maker
• 32:06
  to
• 32:06
  do
• 32:06
  it.
• 32:07
  And
• 32:07
  I'm
• 32:07
  like,
• 32:07
  you
• 32:08
  specified
• 32:09
  that.
• 32:10
  Yeah,
• 32:10
  that's
• 32:10
  your
• 32:11
  fault.
• 32:11
  That's
• 32:11
  not
• 32:11
  the
• 32:11
  cabinet
• 32:12
  person's
• 32:13
  fault.
• 32:13
  You
• 32:14
  demanded
• 32:14
  to
• 32:15
  do
• 32:15
  this.
• 32:16
  Yeah,
• 32:16
  as
• 32:16
  a
• 32:16
  contractor,
• 32:17
  you
• 32:17
  really
• 32:17
  got
• 32:17
  to
• 32:17
  cover
• 32:18
  your
• 32:18
  butt
• 32:18
  on
• 32:18
  that
• 32:18
  stuff.
• 32:20
  Johnny,
• 32:20
  let's
• 32:20
  run
• 32:20
  out
• 32:21
  to
• 32:21
  break
• 32:21
  real
• 32:21
  quick.
• 32:21
  I
• 32:21
  want
• 32:22
  to
• 32:22
  dive
• 32:22
  a
• 32:22
  little
• 32:22
  deeper
• 32:22
  into
• 32:22
  this,
• 32:23
  and
• 32:23
  we
• 32:23
  need
• 32:23
  to
• 32:23
  get
• 32:23
  out
• 32:23
  to
• 32:24
  break
• 32:24
  so
• 32:24
  we
• 32:24
  can
• 32:24
  pay
• 32:24
  the
• 32:24
  bills
• 32:25
  here.
• 32:25
  Exactly.
• 32:26
  Yeah.
• 32:27
  All
• 32:27
  right.
• 32:27
  We'll
• 32:28
  do
• 32:28
  that
• 32:28
  just
• 32:28
  as
• 32:28
  soon
• 32:29
  as
• 32:29
  around
• 32:29
  the

• 32:30

• 34:20
  Johnny
• 34:20
  and
• 34:20
  I
• 34:20
  have
• 34:20
  been

  sitting
• 34:21
  here

  about

  really
• 34:22
  diving
• 34:23
  into
• 34:24
  the
• 34:24
  things
• 34:24
  that

  you

  can

  do
• 34:26
  to
• 34:26
  help
• 34:26
  make

  sure
• 34:27
  that
• 34:27
  you

• 34:29
  project.
• 34:29
  And
• 34:30
  if
• 34:31
  you
• 34:31
  were
• 34:31
  joining
• 34:31
  us
• 34:31
  before
• 34:32
  we
• 34:32
  went
• 34:32
  to
• 34:32
  break,
• 34:32
  I
• 34:33
  tell
• 34:33
  you
• 34:33
  what,
• 34:33
  if
• 34:33
  you're
• 34:33
  especially
• 34:34
  on
• 34:34
  the
• 34:34
  radio
• 34:34
  out
• 34:34
  there,
• 34:35
  one
• 34:35
  of
• 34:36
  the
• 34:36
  biggest
• 34:36
  things
• 34:36
  that
• 34:36
  I
• 34:37
  see,
• 34:37
  and
• 34:37
  I
• 34:37
  know,
• 34:37
  Johnny,
• 34:38
  as
• 34:38
  a
• 34:38
  contractor
• 34:39
  has
• 34:39
  had
• 34:39
  to
• 34:39
  deal
• 34:39
  with
• 34:39
  this
• 34:40
  on
• 34:40
  so
• 34:41
  many
• 34:41
  projects
• 34:41
  is
• 34:42
  the
• 34:42
  homeowner
• 34:43
  being
• 34:43
  their
• 34:43
  worst
• 34:43
  enemy?
• 34:44
  Because
• 34:45
  if
• 34:45
  you're
• 34:45
  out
• 34:45
  there
• 34:46
  demanding
• 34:47
  that
• 34:47
  something
• 34:47
  be
• 34:48
  done
• 34:48
  one
• 34:48
  way
• 34:48
  and
• 34:49
  you
• 34:49
  don't
• 34:49
  really
• 34:49
  know
• 34:50
  what
• 34:50
  you're
• 34:50
  talking
• 34:50
  about,
• 34:51
  one,
• 34:51
  you're
• 34:52
  owning
• 34:52
  liability
• 34:53
  on
• 34:53
  it.
• 34:53
  And
• 34:54
  many
• 34:54
  times
• 34:54
  a
• 34:55
  contractor
• 34:55
  is
• 34:55
  going
• 34:55
  to
• 34:55
  go,
• 34:56
  oh,
• 34:56
  you're
• 34:56
  going
• 34:56
  to
• 34:56
  be
• 34:57
  that
• 34:57
  client
• 34:58
  and
• 34:58
  they're
• 34:58
  going
• 34:58
  to
• 34:58
  add
• 34:59
  10
• 34:59
  or
• 34:59
  15
• 34:59
  or
• 34:59
  20%
• 35:00
  because
• 35:00
  they
• 35:01
  know
• 35:01
  that
• 35:02
  you're
• 35:02
  going
• 35:02
  to
• 35:02
  take
• 35:03
  so
• 35:03
  much
• 35:03
  extra
• 35:04
  handholding
• 35:05
  to
• 35:05
  get
• 35:05
  through
• 35:05
  the
• 35:05
  project,
• 35:06
  it's
• 35:07
  going
• 35:07
  to
• 35:07
  be
• 35:07
  a
• 35:07
  little
• 35:07
  sketchy.
• 35:08
  It's
• 35:08
  called
• 35:09
  the
• 35:09
  pain
• 35:09
  in
• 35:09
  the
• 35:09
  ass
• 35:09
  fee.
• 35:10
  Yeah,
• 35:11
  it
• 35:11
  is.
• 35:11
  And
• 35:11
  we've
• 35:12
  all
• 35:12
  done
• 35:12
  it.
• 35:12
  That's
• 35:12
  not
• 35:12
  to
• 35:13
  say.
• 35:13
  That's
• 35:14
  not
• 35:14
  to
• 35:14
  say.
• 35:14
  Don't
• 35:14
  ask
• 35:15
  legitimate
• 35:15
  questions.
• 35:16
  That's
• 35:16
  not
• 35:16
  to
• 35:16
  say
• 35:17
  don't
• 35:18
  tiptoe
• 35:18
  around
• 35:18
  your
• 35:19
  contractor.
• 35:19
  It's
• 35:19
  your
• 35:20
  dollar
• 35:21
  and
• 35:21
  it's
• 35:21
  your
• 35:21
  project
• 35:22
  and
• 35:22
  you're
• 35:23
  the
• 35:23
  boss.
• 35:24
  But
• 35:25
  be
• 35:25
  respectful.
• 35:26
  Just
• 35:26
  be
• 35:27
  respectful,
• 35:27
  human
• 35:28
  to
• 35:28
  human.
• 35:28
  Are
• 35:29
  you
• 35:29
  sure
• 35:30
  it's
• 35:30
  okay?
• 35:31
  Questions.
• 35:31
  It's
• 35:32
  okay
• 35:32
  to
• 35:32
  ask
• 35:32
  questions.
• 35:33
  But
• 35:33
  when
• 35:34
  you're
• 35:35
  micromanaging
• 35:36
  the
• 35:36
  project
• 35:37
  or
• 35:39
  you're
• 35:39
  pretending
• 35:40
  to
• 35:40
  know
• 35:40
  more
• 35:40
  than
• 35:41
  they
• 35:41
  do
• 35:41
  and
• 35:41
  they
• 35:41
  actually
• 35:42
  know
• 35:42
  more
• 35:42
  than
• 35:42
  you
• 35:43
  do,
• 35:44
  it's
• 35:44
  okay
• 35:44
  to
• 35:44
  go,
• 35:44
  hey,
• 35:45
  wow,
• 35:45
  that
• 35:45
  tile
• 35:46
  install
• 35:46
  looks
• 35:47
  horrible.
• 35:47
  What's
• 35:47
  going
• 35:48
  on?
• 35:49
  That's
• 35:49
  one
• 35:49
  thing.
• 35:50
  But
• 35:51
  you
• 35:51
  also
• 35:51
  need
• 35:52
  to
• 35:52
  keep
• 35:52
  in
• 35:52
  mind
• 35:52
  that
• 35:53
  many
• 35:53
  times
• 35:54
  a
• 35:54
  great
• 35:55
  contractor,
• 35:55
  you're
• 35:56
  coming
• 35:56
  in,
• 35:56
  it's
• 35:56
  somebody
• 35:57
  walking
• 35:57
  in
• 35:57
  on
• 35:57
  Da
• 35:57
  Vinci's
• 35:58
  art
• 35:59
  and
• 36:00
  the
• 36:00
  painting's
• 36:00
  not
• 36:00
  done
• 36:01
  yet
• 36:01
  and
• 36:02
  you're
• 36:02
  judging
• 36:02
  it
• 36:03
  by
• 36:03
  what?
• 36:03
  There's
• 36:03
  a
• 36:03
  fine
• 36:04
  line
• 36:04
  there.
• 36:05
  Yeah.
• 36:05
  As
• 36:05
  hard
• 36:06
  as
• 36:06
  it
• 36:06
  is,
• 36:06
  you
• 36:06
  can't
• 36:07
  because
• 36:07
  the
• 36:07
  contractor
• 36:08
  has
• 36:08
  the
• 36:08
  plan
• 36:08
  in
• 36:09
  his
• 36:09
  head.
• 36:10
  And
• 36:10
  the
• 36:11
  last
• 36:11
  thing
• 36:11
  you
• 36:11
  want
• 36:12
  to
• 36:12
  say
• 36:12
  is,
• 36:12
  don't
• 36:13
  you
• 36:13
  want
• 36:13
  to
• 36:13
  do
• 36:13
  X,
• 36:14
  Y
• 36:14
  and
• 36:14
  Z?
• 36:14
  First
• 36:16
  one
• 36:16
  of
• 36:17
  these,
• 36:18
  you've
• 36:19
  hired
• 36:19
  the.
• 36:19
  Wrong
• 36:19
  contractor
• 36:20
  or
• 36:20
  the
• 36:20
  contractor
• 36:21
  said
• 36:21
  yes
• 36:22
  to
• 36:22
  the
• 36:22
  wrong
• 36:22
  homeowner.
• 36:23
  And
• 36:24
  that's
• 36:24
  the
• 36:24
  crux
• 36:24
  of
• 36:25
  the
• 36:25
  problem
• 36:25
  right
• 36:25
  there.
• 36:26
  That's
• 36:26
  the
• 36:27
  thing.
• 36:27
  And
• 36:28
  the
• 36:28
  other
• 36:28
  thing
• 36:28
  here
• 36:28
  too
• 36:29
  is
• 36:29
  I
• 36:29
  want
• 36:29
  to
• 36:29
  bring
• 36:30
  up,
• 36:30
  just
• 36:30
  as
• 36:30
  a
• 36:30
  side
• 36:30
  mark
• 36:30
  to
• 36:31
  that
• 36:31
  as
• 36:31
  well,
• 36:31
  is
• 36:31
  do
• 36:31
  your
• 36:32
  research
• 36:32
  on
• 36:32
  those
• 36:32
  contractors.
• 36:33
  Make
• 36:33
  sure
• 36:33
  they're
• 36:33
  licensed,
• 36:34
  bonded,
• 36:34
  insured.
• 36:35
  Make
• 36:36
  sure
• 36:36
  that,
• 36:36
  oh,
• 36:37
  I
• 36:37
  tell
• 36:37
  you
• 36:37
  what,
• 36:38
  my
• 36:38
  ex
• 36:39
  decided
• 36:39
  to
• 36:39
  bring
• 36:39
  in
• 36:40
  some
• 36:40
  house
• 36:40
  cleaners
• 36:41
  that
• 36:41
  she
• 36:41
  found
• 36:41
  off
• 36:42
  of
• 36:43
  next
• 36:43
  door
• 36:44
  or
• 36:44
  something
• 36:44
  like
• 36:44
  that.
• 36:45
  They
• 36:46
  did
• 36:46
  more
• 36:46
  damage
• 36:47
  to
• 36:47
  the
• 36:47
  house.
• 36:48
  Than,
• 36:48
  oh,
• 36:49
  that's
• 36:49
  right,
• 36:49
  your
• 36:49
  shower.
• 36:50
  Yeah,
• 36:51
  they
• 36:51
  had
• 36:51
  done
• 36:51
  so
• 36:52
  much
• 36:52
  damage
• 36:52
  to
• 36:53
  the
• 36:53
  house,
• 36:53
  it
• 36:53
  took
• 36:53
  me
• 36:53
  another
• 36:54
  two
• 36:54
  days
• 36:54
  to
• 36:54
  fix
• 36:55
  the
• 36:55
  stuff
• 36:55
  that
• 36:55
  they
• 36:55
  destroyed.
• 36:57
  And
• 36:57
  they
• 36:57
  were
• 36:57
  just
• 36:57
  cleaning.
• 36:59
  And
• 36:59
  again,
• 37:00
  she
• 37:00
  tried
• 37:01
  to
• 37:01
  save
• 37:01
  money.
• 37:01
  I
• 37:01
  Had
• 37:02
  no
• 37:02
  say
• 37:02
  in
• 37:02
  it,
• 37:03
  really.
• 37:04
  And
• 37:05
  when
• 37:06
  they
• 37:06
  left,
• 37:07
  I
• 37:07
  had
• 37:08
  days
• 37:08
  of
• 37:08
  work
• 37:09
  to
• 37:09
  put
• 37:10
  things
• 37:10
  back
• 37:10
  together
• 37:11
  that
• 37:11
  they
• 37:11
  were
• 37:11
  just
• 37:12
  doing
• 37:12
  stupid,
• 37:12
  reckless
• 37:13
  stuff
• 37:13
  that
• 37:13
  didn't
• 37:13
  need
• 37:14
  to
• 37:14
  happen.
• 37:15
  Get
• 37:16
  the
• 37:16
  right
• 37:16
  people
• 37:16
  for
• 37:17
  the
• 37:17
  job
• 37:17
  because
• 37:17
  it's
• 37:18
  going
• 37:18
  to
• 37:18
  cost
• 37:18
  you
• 37:18
  more
• 37:18
  money
• 37:19
  if
• 37:19
  you
• 37:19
  don't.
• 37:20
  Check
• 37:20
  the
• 37:21
  licensing,
• 37:21
  get
• 37:22
  some
• 37:22
  referrals,
• 37:23
  see
• 37:23
  some
• 37:23
  photos
• 37:24
  from
• 37:24
  other
• 37:24
  projects.
• 37:25
  Common
• 37:25
  sense.
• 37:26
  The
• 37:26
  other
• 37:26
  thing
• 37:26
  is,
• 37:26
  too,
• 37:27
  is
• 37:27
  to
• 37:27
  bundle
• 37:29
  projects
• 37:29
  together.
• 37:30
  If
• 37:30
  you're
• 37:30
  going
• 37:30
  to
• 37:31
  do
• 37:31
  it
• 37:31
  in
• 37:31
  phases,
• 37:32
  say,
• 37:32
  hey,
• 37:32
  I'm
• 37:32
  going
• 37:32
  to
• 37:32
  hire
• 37:33
  you
• 37:33
  to
• 37:33
  do
• 37:33
  the
• 37:35
  master
• 37:35
  bath
• 37:36
  remodel
• 37:36
  and
• 37:36
  the
• 37:37
  kitchen
• 37:37
  remodel.
• 37:38
  That
• 37:38
  way
• 37:39
  the
• 37:39
  contractor
• 37:40
  can
• 37:40
  have
• 37:41
  the
• 37:41
  electricians
• 37:42
  and
• 37:42
  some
• 37:42
  of
• 37:43
  that
• 37:43
  stuff
• 37:43
  come
• 37:43
  in
• 37:43
  and
• 37:44
  do
• 37:44
  it
• 37:44
  at
• 37:44
  the
• 37:44
  same
• 37:44
  time,
• 37:45
  right?
• 37:46
  Yep.
• 37:47
  Because
• 37:47
  if
• 37:47
  you
• 37:47
  break
• 37:47
  that
• 37:48
  into
• 37:48
  two
• 37:48
  projects,
• 37:49
  one,
• 37:50
  it's
• 37:50
  going
• 37:50
  to
• 37:50
  take
• 37:50
  twice
• 37:51
  as
• 37:51
  long.
• 37:51
  Two,
• 37:52
  you
• 37:52
  can
• 37:52
  actually
• 37:52
  save
• 37:53
  some
• 37:53
  money
• 37:53
  because
• 37:53
  when
• 37:53
  the
• 37:54
  electrician
• 37:54
  shows
• 37:54
  up
• 37:55
  and
• 37:55
  they're
• 37:55
  doing
• 37:55
  all
• 37:56
  that
• 37:56
  work,
• 37:57
  sometimes
• 37:57
  they're
• 37:58
  doing
• 37:58
  stuff
• 37:58
  that
• 37:58
  has
• 37:58
  to
• 37:59
  go
• 37:59
  through
• 37:59
  the
• 37:59
  kitchen
• 37:59
  area
• 38:00
  just
• 38:00
  to
• 38:00
  get
• 38:00
  to
• 38:00
  the
• 38:00
  bathroom
• 38:01
  anyway,
• 38:01
  depending
• 38:02
  on
• 38:02
  where
• 38:02
  things
• 38:02
  are
• 38:02
  located.
• 38:03
  Yeah,
• 38:03
  it's
• 38:03
  always
• 38:04
  better
• 38:04
  than
• 38:04
  a
• 38:04
  restart
• 38:06
  because
• 38:06
  and
• 38:06
  including
• 38:07
  the
• 38:07
  fact
• 38:07
  that
• 38:08
  on
• 38:08
  a
• 38:08
  lot
• 38:08
  of
• 38:08
  those
• 38:08
  restarts,
• 38:09
  what
• 38:09
  you
• 38:09
  did
• 38:10
  for
• 38:10
  the
• 38:10
  bathroom
• 38:10
  now
• 38:11
  has
• 38:11
  to
• 38:11
  change
• 38:11
  for
• 38:12
  the
• 38:12
  kitchen.
• 38:12
  So
• 38:13
  it's
• 38:13
  not
• 38:13
  only
• 38:14
  restarting
• 38:14
  a
• 38:15
  new
• 38:15
  project
• 38:15
  for
• 38:16
  the
• 38:16
  kitchen,
• 38:16
  but
• 38:17
  whatever
• 38:17
  was
• 38:17
  done
• 38:17
  on
• 38:18
  your
• 38:18
  previous
• 38:18
  project,
• 38:19
  you
• 38:19
  might
• 38:20
  have
• 38:20
  to
• 38:20
  do
• 38:20
  twice
• 38:21
  now.
• 38:21
  So
• 38:22
  always.
• 38:22
  Yeah,
• 38:23
  if
• 38:23
  you
• 38:23
  can
• 38:23
  put
• 38:23
  them
• 38:23
  together,
• 38:24
  plan
• 38:24
  ahead,
• 38:24
  get
• 38:25
  it
• 38:25
  all
• 38:25
  done
• 38:25
  in
• 38:25
  one
• 38:25
  shot.
• 38:26
  Way
• 38:26
  better.
• 38:27
  And
• 38:27
  pay
• 38:28
  attention
• 38:28
  to
• 38:28
  the
• 38:28
  specifications.
• 38:29
  You've
• 38:29
  got
• 38:30
  an
• 38:30
  older
• 38:30
  house,
• 38:31
  so
• 38:31
  many
• 38:32
  of
• 38:32
  these
• 38:32
  new
• 38:32
  ovens
• 38:33
  and
• 38:33
  stuff
• 38:33
  take
• 38:33
  four
• 38:34
  wires
• 38:35
  for
• 38:35
  the
• 38:36
  oven
• 38:36
  now
• 38:36
  instead
• 38:37
  of
• 38:37
  three.
• 38:37
  So
• 38:37
  they
• 38:37
  got
• 38:37
  to
• 38:38
  have
• 38:38
  their
• 38:38
  own
• 38:38
  dedicated
• 38:39
  neutral.
• 38:39
  They
• 38:39
  have
• 38:40
  to
• 38:40
  have
• 38:40
  their
• 38:40
  own
• 38:40
  dedicated
• 38:41
  ground,
• 38:41
  and
• 38:41
  they
• 38:41
  won't
• 38:42
  work
• 38:42
  without
• 38:42
  them.
• 38:43
  So
• 38:43
  that's
• 38:44
  where
• 38:44
  that
• 38:44
  can
• 38:44
  be
• 38:44
  a
• 38:44
  big
• 38:45
  issue,
• 38:45
  because
• 38:46
  all
• 38:46
  of
• 38:46
  a
• 38:46
  sudden
• 38:46
  now
• 38:47
  you're
• 38:47
  running
• 38:47
  a
• 38:47
  new
• 38:47
  ground
• 38:48
  wire
• 38:49
  from
• 38:49
  that
• 38:49
  kitchen
• 38:50
  oven
• 38:50
  placement
• 38:51
  all
• 38:52
  the
• 38:52
  way
• 38:52
  back
• 38:53
  to
• 38:53
  wherever
• 38:54
  the
• 38:54
  panel
• 38:54
  is.
• 38:55
  That
• 38:55
  can
• 38:56
  be
• 38:56
  a
• 38:56
  problem.
• 38:57
  That
• 38:57
  can
• 38:57
  be
• 38:58
  a
• 38:58
  big
• 38:58
  problem.
• 38:58
  That
• 38:58
  can
• 38:59
  cost
• 38:59
  you
• 38:59
  a
• 38:59
  ton
• 38:59
  of
• 39:00
  money.
• 39:01
  I've
• 39:01
  had
• 39:02
  electrical
• 39:02
  changes
• 39:03
  because
• 39:03
  the
• 39:03
  homeowner
• 39:04
  went
• 39:04
  and
• 39:04
  changed
• 39:05
  oven
• 39:05
  brands
• 39:06
  and
• 39:06
  then
• 39:07
  the
• 39:07
  electrician
• 39:07
  shows
• 39:08
  up
• 39:08
  and
• 39:08
  goes,
• 39:08
  well,
• 39:08
  this
• 39:08
  oven
• 39:09
  won't
• 39:09
  work
• 39:11
  without
• 39:11
  this,
• 39:12
  especially
• 39:12
  with
• 39:13
  stuff
• 39:13
  coming
• 39:13
  out
• 39:13
  of
• 39:13
  Europe.
• 39:14
  So
• 39:14
  be
• 39:14
  very
• 39:14
  careful.
• 39:15
  Sometimes
• 39:16
  those
• 39:16
  things
• 39:16
  happen.
• 39:17
  So
• 39:17
  read
• 39:17
  those
• 39:18
  specifications
• 39:18
  before
• 39:19
  you
• 39:19
  get
• 39:19
  the
• 39:19
  project
• 39:19
  going
• 39:20
  and
• 39:20
  have
• 39:21
  everything.
• 39:21
  And
• 39:21
  that's
• 39:21
  a
• 39:22
  quick
• 39:22
  500
• 39:22
  bucks.
• 39:23
  It's
• 39:23
  a
• 39:24
  quick
• 39:24
  500
• 39:24
  bucks.
• 39:25
  And
• 39:25
  if
• 39:25
  it
• 39:25
  happens
• 39:26
  more
• 39:26
  than
• 39:26
  twice.
• 39:27
  It
• 39:27
  adds
• 39:28
  up.
• 39:28
  It
• 39:28
  adds
• 39:28
  up.
• 39:29
  I
• 39:29
  had
• 39:29
  one
• 39:30
  where
• 39:30
  the
• 39:30
  panel
• 39:31
  was
• 39:31
  on
• 39:31
  the
• 39:31
  other
• 39:31
  side
• 39:31
  of
• 39:32
  the
• 39:32
  house.
• 39:32
  It
• 39:32
  was
• 39:32
  a
• 39:33
  cliff
• 39:33
  house
• 39:34
  kind
• 39:34
  of
• 39:34
  thing.
• 39:35
  And
• 39:35
  they
• 39:36
  had
• 39:36
  a
• 39:36
  ten
• 39:36
  grand
• 39:37
  bill
• 39:38
  to
• 39:38
  wire
• 39:39
  things
• 39:39
  because
• 39:40
  they
• 39:40
  had
• 39:40
  to
• 39:40
  go
• 39:41
  through
• 39:41
  all
• 39:41
  these
• 39:42
  places
• 39:42
  to
• 39:42
  run
• 39:42
  electrical.
• 39:44
  And
• 39:44
  they
• 39:44
  were
• 39:45
  ripping
• 39:45
  open
• 39:45
  walls.
• 39:46
  They
• 39:46
  were
• 39:46
  ripping
• 39:46
  open
• 39:47
  up
• 39:48
  underneath
• 39:48
  the
• 39:48
  house.
• 39:49
  Because
• 39:49
  it
• 39:49
  was
• 39:49
  one
• 39:49
  of
• 39:50
  those.
• 39:50
  It
• 39:50
  was
• 39:50
  in
• 39:51
  Seattle
• 39:51
  where
• 39:51
  you
• 39:51
  have
• 39:51
  those
• 39:51
  cliff
• 39:52
  houses
• 39:52
  up
• 39:52
  there.
• 39:52
  It's
• 39:52
  same
• 39:53
  in
• 39:53
  Portland.
• 39:53
  You
• 39:53
  got
• 39:53
  these
• 39:54
  houses
• 39:54
  that
• 39:54
  are
• 39:54
  out
• 39:54
  on
• 39:54
  the
• 39:54
  bluff,
• 39:55
  like
• 39:55
  in
• 39:55
  Burien
• 39:56
  or
• 39:56
  wherever
• 39:56
  else
• 39:56
  like
• 39:57
  that.
• 39:57
  And
• 39:57
  they're
• 39:57
  out
• 39:57
  there
• 39:58
  and
• 39:58
  they
• 39:58
  had
• 39:59
  to
• 39:59
  go
• 39:59
  off
• 39:59
  those
• 39:59
  pylons
• 40:00
  and
• 40:00
  work
• 40:00
  around
• 40:00
  it
• 40:01
  and
• 40:01
  fall
• 40:01
  protection
• 40:02
  device
• 40:02
  for
• 40:02
  the
• 40:02
  electrician
• 40:03
  and
• 40:04
  all
• 40:04
  that
• 40:04
  stuff.
• 40:04
  It
• 40:04
  was
• 40:05
  ten
• 40:05
  grand
• 40:05
  bill
• 40:05
  for
• 40:06
  those
• 40:06
  ovens
• 40:06
  and
• 40:06
  the
• 40:07
  guys.
• 40:07
  Wow.
• 40:08
  I
• 40:08
  just
• 40:08
  changed
• 40:09
  the
• 40:09
  oven.
• 40:09
  Guess
• 40:09
  what.
• 40:09
  Yeah,
• 40:10
  you
• 40:10
  change
• 40:10
  the
• 40:10
  oven.
• 40:11
  But
• 40:12
  now
• 40:12
  this
• 40:12
  takes
• 40:12
  a
• 40:12
  whole
• 40:13
  different
• 40:13
  electrical
• 40:14
  and
• 40:14
  you
• 40:14
  can't
• 40:14
  just
• 40:14
  pull
• 40:15
  that.
• 40:15
  It's
• 40:15
  not
• 40:15
  like
• 40:15
  it's
• 40:15
  a
• 40:15
  commercial
• 40:16
  project
• 40:16
  with
• 40:16
  conduit.
• 40:17
  Oh,
• 40:17
  man.
• 40:18
  Brutal.
• 40:19
  That's
• 40:20
  a
• 40:20
  tough
• 40:20
  lesson.
• 40:21
  Yeah,
• 40:21
  it's
• 40:22
  a
• 40:22
  tough
• 40:22
  lesson.
• 40:23
  And
• 40:23
  the
• 40:23
  last
• 40:23
  one
• 40:23
  I
• 40:24
  want
• 40:24
  to
• 40:24
  talk
• 40:24
  about
• 40:24
  here
• 40:24
  too,
• 40:25
  which
• 40:25
  is
• 40:25
  important,
• 40:26
  and
• 40:27
  this
• 40:28
  is
• 40:28
  what
• 40:28
  this
• 40:28
  show
• 40:28
  is
• 40:29
  really
• 40:29
  all
• 40:29
  about,
• 40:29
  is
• 40:30
  you
• 40:30
  tackling
• 40:30
  those
• 40:31
  DIY
• 40:31
  friendly
• 40:32
  tasks
• 40:32
  to
• 40:33
  cut
• 40:33
  labor
• 40:33
  costs.
• 40:34
  Now
• 40:35
  here
• 40:35
  is
• 40:35
  the
• 40:35
  thing.
• 40:36
  Here's
• 40:37
  a
• 40:37
  big
• 40:37
  important
• 40:37
  one
• 40:38
  here.
• 40:38
  And
• 40:38
  you
• 40:38
  agree
• 40:38
  with
• 40:39
  this,
• 40:39
  I'm
• 40:39
  sure,
• 40:39
  Johnny.
• 40:40
  But
• 40:40
  I'm
• 40:40
  curious
• 40:40
  to
• 40:41
  get
• 40:41
  your
• 40:41
  take.
• 40:42
  If
• 40:42
  you're
• 40:43
  working
• 40:43
  with
• 40:43
  a
• 40:43
  contractor,
• 40:44
  you
• 40:44
  need
• 40:45
  to
• 40:45
  sit
• 40:45
  down
• 40:45
  and
• 40:45
  make
• 40:46
  sure
• 40:46
  they're
• 40:46
  okay
• 40:48
  if
• 40:48
  you're
• 40:48
  gonna
• 40:48
  do
• 40:49
  demo,
• 40:49
  if
• 40:50
  they're
• 40:50
  okay
• 40:50
  if
• 40:51
  you're
• 40:51
  gonna
• 40:51
  be
• 40:51
  painting,
• 40:52
  because
• 40:53
  many
• 40:53
  times
• 40:54
  they
• 40:54
  will
• 40:55
  charge
• 40:55
  you
• 40:55
  more
• 40:55
  because
• 40:56
  they
• 40:56
  know
• 40:56
  that
• 40:57
  they're
• 40:57
  gonna
• 40:57
  have
• 40:57
  to
• 40:57
  come
• 40:57
  back
• 40:58
  and
• 40:58
  finish
• 40:59
  taking
• 40:59
  all
• 40:59
  the
• 41:00
  nails
• 41:00
  out
• 41:00
  of
• 41:00
  the
• 41:00
  studs
• 41:01
  from
• 41:01
  your
• 41:02
  demo
• 41:02
  day,
• 41:02
  or
• 41:03
  fixing
• 41:03
  the
• 41:04
  wall
• 41:04
  that
• 41:04
  is
• 41:04
  now
• 41:05
  out
• 41:05
  of
• 41:05
  whack
• 41:05
  because
• 41:05
  you
• 41:06
  decided
• 41:06
  to,
• 41:07
  like
• 41:07
  on
• 41:07
  hdtv,
• 41:08
  get
• 41:08
  the
• 41:09
  big
• 41:09
  sledgehammer
• 41:10
  out
• 41:10
  and
• 41:10
  start
• 41:10
  swinging
• 41:10
  with
• 41:11
  the
• 41:11
  wall
• 41:11
  to
• 41:11
  take
• 41:11
  the
• 41:11
  drywall
• 41:12
  out,
• 41:12
  where
• 41:13
  you
• 41:13
  could
• 41:13
  have
• 41:13
  just
• 41:13
  had
• 41:13
  a
• 41:13
  framing
• 41:14
  hammer,
• 41:14
  poke
• 41:14
  some
• 41:14
  holes
• 41:15
  and
• 41:15
  pull
• 41:15
  it
• 41:15
  off
• 41:16
  without
• 41:16
  doing
• 41:16
  all
• 41:16
  the
• 41:16
  damage.
• 41:18
  It's
• 41:18
  a
• 41:18
  cute
• 41:18
  notion
• 41:19
  and
• 41:19
  generally
• 41:20
  a
• 41:20
  mistake
• 41:21
  made
• 41:21
  by
• 41:21
  younger
• 41:22
  owners.
• 41:23
  Like,
• 41:23
  look,
• 41:24
  honey,
• 41:24
  our
• 41:24
  first
• 41:24
  house.
• 41:25
  I'm
• 41:25
  gonna
• 41:25
  smash
• 41:26
  this
• 41:26
  wall
• 41:27
  with
• 41:27
  a
• 41:27
  sledgehammer
• 41:28
  because
• 41:28
  that's
• 41:28
  what
• 41:28
  I
• 41:28
  saw
• 41:28
  on
• 41:29
  tv.
• 41:29
  And
• 41:30
  you
• 41:30
  know,
• 41:30
  the
• 41:31
  first
• 41:31
  thing
• 41:31
  you
• 41:31
  do
• 41:31
  is
• 41:32
  chop
• 41:32
  through
• 41:32
  a
• 41:32
  piece
• 41:32
  of
• 41:33
  a
• 41:33
  strip
• 41:33
  of
• 41:33
  romex.
• 41:36
  Knock
• 41:36
  the
• 41:36
  base
• 41:36
  plate
• 41:37
  loose
• 41:37
  off
• 41:37
  the
• 41:38
  concrete
• 41:38
  that
• 41:39
  wasn't
• 41:39
  down
• 41:39
  there
• 41:39
  or
• 41:40
  whatever.
• 41:41
  Hit
• 41:41
  a
• 41:41
  chunk
• 41:41
  of
• 41:41
  copper
• 41:42
  and
• 41:42
  water
• 41:43
  floods
• 41:43
  your
• 41:43
  brand
• 41:44
  new
• 41:44
  living
• 41:44
  room.
• 41:45
  Like,
• 41:45
  I
• 41:46
  thought
• 41:46
  you
• 41:46
  could
• 41:46
  do
• 41:46
  this,
• 41:47
  honey.
• 41:47
  Yeah.
• 41:48
  And
• 41:48
  then
• 41:49
  enters
• 41:49
  the
• 41:49
  relationship
• 41:50
  part
• 41:50
  of
• 41:51
  remodel.
• 41:52
  I
• 41:52
  tell
• 41:52
  you
• 41:53
  what,
• 41:53
  I
• 41:53
  Had
• 41:53
  that
• 41:54
  with
• 41:54
  a
• 41:54
  stud
• 41:55
  finder.
• 41:55
  One
• 41:55
  time
• 41:56
  rental
• 41:57
  house
• 41:57
  that
• 41:57
  I
• 41:57
  had.
• 41:58
  We
• 41:58
  were
• 41:58
  renting
• 41:58
  in
• 41:58
  the
• 41:58
  house
• 41:59
  for
• 41:59
  a
• 41:59
  year
• 41:59
  years
• 42:00
  ago
• 42:01
  in
• 42:01
  between
• 42:01
  houses
• 42:02
  to
• 42:02
  get
• 42:03
  the
• 42:03
  kids
• 42:03
  through
• 42:03
  school.
• 42:04
  So
• 42:04
  we
• 42:04
  didn't
• 42:04
  take
• 42:04
  them
• 42:05
  out
• 42:05
  of
• 42:05
  their
• 42:05
  school
• 42:05
  district,
• 42:05
  didn't
• 42:06
  want
• 42:06
  to
• 42:06
  change,
• 42:06
  take
• 42:06
  them
• 42:06
  out
• 42:07
  of
• 42:07
  their
• 42:07
  school
• 42:07
  district
• 42:07
  in
• 42:07
  the
• 42:07
  senior
• 42:08
  year.
• 42:09
  Stud
• 42:09
  finder
• 42:09
  keep
• 42:10
  going
• 42:10
  through.
• 42:11
  Awesome
• 42:12
  double
• 42:12
  stud
• 42:12
  here.
• 42:13
  Great
• 42:13
  place
• 42:14
  for
• 42:14
  the
• 42:14
  tv.
• 42:15
  Nope,
• 42:16
  that
• 42:16
  was
• 42:16
  not
• 42:16
  a
• 42:17
  double
• 42:17
  stud.
• 42:17
  This
• 42:18
  was
• 42:18
  in
• 42:18
  the
• 42:18
  den
• 42:18
  area
• 42:19
  I
• 42:19
  had.
• 42:19
  It
• 42:20
  was
• 42:20
  nice
• 42:20
  day.
• 42:20
  So
• 42:20
  the
• 42:21
  window
• 42:21
  was
• 42:21
  open
• 42:21
  with
• 42:22
  the
• 42:22
  screen
• 42:22
  open
• 42:22
  air
• 42:23
  in
• 42:23
  the
• 42:23
  house
• 42:23
  out.
• 42:23
  I
• 42:23
  was
• 42:24
  doing
• 42:24
  some
• 42:24
  projects.
• 42:25
  I
• 42:25
  put
• 42:25
  that
• 42:26
  leg
• 42:26
  bolt
• 42:26
  in
• 42:27
  and
• 42:27
  that
• 42:27
  was
• 42:27
  a
• 42:28
  3
• 42:28
  quarter
• 42:28
  inch
• 42:29
  CPVC
• 42:30
  cold
• 42:30
  water
• 42:30
  line.
• 42:31
  Go
• 42:31
  to
• 42:31
  the
• 42:32
  tub.
• 42:33
  Of
• 42:33
  course
• 42:34
  it
• 42:34
  was
• 42:35
  that
• 42:35
  water
• 42:36
  shot
• 42:36
  out
• 42:36
  of
• 42:37
  there
• 42:37
  so
• 42:37
  far
• 42:37
  it
• 42:38
  went
• 42:38
  across,
• 42:39
  hit
• 42:40
  the
• 42:40
  window
• 42:40
  screen,
• 42:41
  popped
• 42:41
  the
• 42:41
  window
• 42:42
  screen
• 42:42
  out
• 42:42
  on
• 42:42
  the
• 42:42
  deck.
• 42:43
  I
• 42:43
  didn't
• 42:44
  get
• 42:44
  2
• 42:44
  gallons
• 42:44
  of
• 42:44
  water
• 42:45
  on
• 42:45
  the
• 42:45
  floor
• 42:45
  because
• 42:45
  I
• 42:45
  went
• 42:46
  and
• 42:46
  turned
• 42:46
  it
• 42:46
  off
• 42:46
  real
• 42:46
  quick.
• 42:47
  And
• 42:47
  of
• 42:47
  course
• 42:47
  I
• 42:47
  go
• 42:47
  out
• 42:47
  to
• 42:47
  shut
• 42:48
  the
• 42:48
  water
• 42:48
  off
• 42:48
  and
• 42:49
  it's
• 42:49
  a
• 42:49
  CPVC
• 42:50
  shut
• 42:51
  off
• 42:51
  as
• 42:51
  well.
• 42:52
  So
• 42:52
  I
• 42:52
  bust
• 42:52
  the
• 42:52
  handle
• 42:53
  off
• 42:53
  on
• 42:53
  that.
• 42:53
  So
• 42:54
  now
• 42:54
  I
• 42:54
  gotta
• 42:54
  go
• 42:54
  out
• 42:54
  to
• 42:54
  the
• 42:54
  street
• 42:55
  and
• 42:55
  turn
• 42:55
  it
• 42:55
  off.
• 42:56
  It
• 42:56
  was
• 42:57
  just
• 42:57
  those
• 42:57
  comedy
• 42:58
  of
• 42:58
  errors.
• 42:58
  I
• 42:59
  got
• 42:59
  it
• 42:59
  fixed,
• 42:59
  but
• 42:59
  it
• 42:59
  was
• 43:00
  just
• 43:00
  like
• 43:01
  really?
• 43:01
  Couldn't
• 43:01
  put
• 43:02
  a
• 43:02
  nail
• 43:02
  plate.
• 43:02
  Couldn't
• 43:03
  put
• 43:03
  a
• 43:03
  nail
• 43:03
  plate
• 43:03
  over
• 43:03
  that.
• 43:04
  Yeah,
• 43:05
  maybe,
• 43:05
  yeah,
• 43:05
  no.
• 43:06
  And
• 43:07
  of
• 43:07
  course
• 43:07
  it
• 43:07
  was
• 43:07
  cpvc
• 43:08
  which
• 43:08
  is
• 43:08
  so
• 43:08
  difficult
• 43:09
  to
• 43:09
  work
• 43:09
  with
• 43:09
  anyway.
• 43:10
  Just
• 43:10
  no
• 43:10
  fun.
• 43:10
  But
• 43:11
  those
• 43:11
  are
• 43:11
  the
• 43:11
  things
• 43:11
  that
• 43:12
  happen
• 43:12
  and
• 43:12
  those
• 43:12
  are
• 43:13
  the
• 43:13
  things
• 43:13
  that
• 43:14
  sometimes
• 43:14
  can
• 43:15
  cost
• 43:15
  you
• 43:15
  more
• 43:15
  money
• 43:16
  if
• 43:16
  you're
• 43:17
  trying
• 43:18
  to
• 43:18
  do
• 43:18
  it.
• 43:19
  Sometimes
• 43:19
  contractors
• 43:20
  will
• 43:20
  look
• 43:20
  at
• 43:20
  you
• 43:20
  and
• 43:20
  go,
• 43:21
  I
• 43:21
  don't
• 43:21
  want
• 43:21
  you
• 43:21
  touching
• 43:21
  it,
• 43:22
  I've
• 43:23
  got
• 43:23
  this.
• 43:23
  And
• 43:24
  if
• 43:24
  you
• 43:24
  demand
• 43:24
  it,
• 43:25
  they're
• 43:25
  just
• 43:25
  going
• 43:25
  to
• 43:25
  charge
• 43:25
  you
• 43:25
  more.
• 43:26
  So
• 43:26
  you're
• 43:26
  not
• 43:26
  saving
• 43:27
  yourself
• 43:27
  any
• 43:27
  money.
• 43:28
  So
• 43:28
  have
• 43:29
  a
• 43:29
  very
• 43:29
  honest
• 43:29
  conversation.
• 43:31
  Almost
• 43:31
  always
• 43:32
  the
• 43:32
  case,
• 43:32
  unless
• 43:33
  you
• 43:33
  have
• 43:34
  previously
• 43:34
  been
• 43:35
  in
• 43:35
  the
• 43:35
  trades
• 43:35
  and
• 43:35
  you're
• 43:36
  like,
• 43:36
  no,
• 43:36
  I
• 43:36
  was
• 43:36
  an
• 43:36
  electrician
• 43:37
  for
• 43:37
  10
• 43:37
  years,
• 43:38
  I
• 43:38
  can
• 43:38
  run
• 43:38
  my
• 43:38
  own
• 43:39
  Romex
• 43:40
  or
• 43:41
  whatever.
• 43:42
  That,
• 43:43
  that's
• 43:43
  the
• 43:43
  exception.
• 43:44
  But
• 43:44
  yeah,
• 43:45
  usually
• 43:46
  saying
• 43:46
  I
• 43:46
  want
• 43:46
  to
• 43:46
  do
• 43:47
  this
• 43:47
  and
• 43:47
  this,
• 43:47
  either
• 43:48
  the
• 43:48
  price
• 43:48
  is
• 43:48
  going
• 43:49
  up
• 43:49
  or
• 43:49
  I'm
• 43:49
  not
• 43:49
  working
• 43:49
  with
• 43:50
  you.
• 43:50
  It's
• 43:51
  you're
• 43:52
  only
• 43:52
  going
• 43:52
  to
• 43:52
  hurt
• 43:52
  yourself.
• 43:53
  And
• 43:53
  like
• 43:53
  you
• 43:53
  just
• 43:54
  said,
• 43:54
  you're
• 43:54
  not
• 43:54
  saving
• 43:55
  any
• 43:55
  money
• 43:55
  by
• 43:55
  doing
• 43:56
  that.
• 43:56
  And
• 43:57
  generally
• 43:57
  speaking,
• 43:57
  as
• 43:58
  a
• 43:58
  contractor,
• 43:58
  I
• 43:58
  could
• 43:59
  always
• 43:59
  explain
• 43:59
  that
• 44:00
  to
• 44:00
  the
• 44:00
  customer.
• 44:00
  Look,
• 44:01
  it's.
• 44:01
  You
• 44:02
  can
• 44:02
  do
• 44:02
  the
• 44:02
  demo,
• 44:03
  but
• 44:03
  it's
• 44:03
  not
• 44:03
  going
• 44:03
  to
• 44:03
  save.
• 44:04
  It's
• 44:04
  not
• 44:04
  going
• 44:04
  to.
• 44:05
  You
• 44:05
  want
• 44:06
  to
• 44:06
  demo
• 44:06
  a
• 44:06
  whole
• 44:06
  kitchen
• 44:07
  for
• 44:07
  maybe
• 44:08
  a
• 44:08
  save
• 44:08
  100
• 44:08
  bucks?
• 44:09
  Like
• 44:09
  really?
• 44:10
  Okay,
• 44:11
  okay,
• 44:11
  yeah.
• 44:12
  Sure.
• 44:12
  Just.
• 44:13
  It
• 44:13
  just
• 44:13
  doesn't
• 44:14
  work
• 44:14
  well.
• 44:15
  And
• 44:15
  the
• 44:15
  ones
• 44:16
  that
• 44:16
  do
• 44:16
  you,
• 44:16
  they
• 44:17
  either
• 44:17
  know
• 44:17
  your
• 44:17
  skills
• 44:18
  or
• 44:18
  they
• 44:18
  just
• 44:18
  don't
• 44:18
  care.
• 44:19
  And
• 44:19
  they're
• 44:19
  like,
• 44:19
  okay,
• 44:19
  that's
• 44:20
  fine.
• 44:21
  And
• 44:21
  those
• 44:21
  are
• 44:21
  warning
• 44:21
  signs
• 44:22
  as
• 44:22
  well.
• 44:23
  Those
• 44:23
  are
• 44:23
  warning
• 44:23
  signs.
• 44:24
  It's
• 44:24
  all
• 44:24
  about
• 44:24
  the
• 44:25
  relationship,
• 44:25
  man.
• 44:26
  It
• 44:26
  is.
• 44:26
  And
• 44:26
  that's
• 44:27
  a
• 44:27
  good
• 44:27
  note.
• 44:27
  Johnny.
• 44:27
  We're
• 44:28
  out
• 44:28
  of
• 44:28
  time
• 44:28
  for
• 44:28
  this
• 44:28
  hour.
• 44:28
  It's
• 44:29
  time
• 44:29
  to
• 44:29
  go
• 44:29
  out
• 44:29
  to
• 44:29
  break,
• 44:30
  and
• 44:30
  we
• 44:31
  do
• 44:31
  have
• 44:31
  a
• 44:31
  second
• 44:31
  hour
• 44:31
  of
• 44:31
  the
• 44:32
  show
• 44:32
  coming
• 44:32
  up.
• 44:32
  I'm
• 44:33
  Eric
• 44:33
  G.
• 44:33
  And
• 44:33
  you've
• 44:33
  been
• 44:34
  listening
• 44:34
  to
• 44:35
  around
• 44:35
  the
• 44:36
  House.
