- 0:00Speaker 1: What's up everyone and welcome to another episode of the
- 0:03Speaker 1: Epstein Chronicles. In this episode we're going to pick up
- 0:06Speaker 1: where we left off with Jess Staley and his trip
- 0:09Speaker 1: to Congress. Question I'd like to introduce as Minority Exhibit G,
- 0:16Speaker 1: an email chain between Epstein and a redacted person dated
- 0:20Speaker 1: June 20th, 2010, about two and a half weeks before
- 0:23Speaker 1: you sent the email to Mr. Epstein telling him to
- 0:26Speaker 1: say hi to Snow White. The Bates number is EFTA 00735698.
- 0:34Speaker 1: In the email chain, Mr. Epstein says, quote, I would
- 0:36Speaker 1: love to take photos of you in a Snow White costume.
- 0:39Speaker 1: You can get it from the costume store. I can
- 0:42Speaker 1: represent to you based on in-camera review of the unredacted
- 0:46Speaker 1: version of this document that the individual is the same
- 0:49Speaker 1: individual who sent the email to Mr. Epstein about Snow White.
- 0:53Speaker 1: Lawyer for Jess Daly jumps in. Excuse me. Forgive me.
- 0:56Speaker 1: I'm confused. I think I've lost track, but I think
- 0:59Speaker 1: you said something that does not appear on the document.
- 1:01Speaker 1: Is that right? Could you start again? It's only my confusion.
- 1:06Speaker 1: I just didn't follow the question. Question. If you look
- 1:11Speaker 1: at the first line of the email, Mr. Epstein is
- 1:13Speaker 1: referring to a big movie, Snow White. And then he says, quote,
- 1:17Speaker 1: I would love to take photos of you in a
- 1:19Speaker 1: Snow White costume. You can get it from the costume store. Question. Question.
- 1:25Speaker 1: And I can represent to you that Mr. Epstein is
- 1:27Speaker 1: sending that email to the same woman who sent the
- 1:30Speaker 1: email to him saying that Snow White was fucked. It
- 1:33Speaker 1: appears looking at all these emails together that Mr. Epstein
- 1:36Speaker 1: told this young woman to buy a Snow White costume
- 1:39Speaker 1: and then instructed her to have sex with you while
- 1:41Speaker 1: wearing it. Your testimony today is that didn't happen, correct? Answer,
- 1:46Speaker 1: where is he? Where is he instructing her to have
- 1:48Speaker 1: sex with me? Question, I said it appears. Taking these
- 1:52Speaker 1: emails together, That is what is happening here. He sends
- 1:56Speaker 1: this woman an email on June 20th, which is about
- 2:00Speaker 1: two and a half weeks before you send the email
- 2:02Speaker 1: to him saying say hi to Snow White, which is
- 2:05Speaker 1: one day before she sends the email to him saying
- 2:08Speaker 1: that Snow White was fucked twice. Mr. Sullivan, what's the question?
- 2:13Speaker 1: Question taken together based on those emails, it appears that Mr.
- 2:16Speaker 1: Epstein told this young woman to buy a Snow White
- 2:19Speaker 1: costume and then instructed her to have sex with you
- 2:22Speaker 1: while wearing it. Staley, I think that's speculation on your part. Question,
- 2:27Speaker 1: your testimony is that is not what happened? Answer, that's
- 2:30Speaker 1: my testimony. Question, Mr. Staley, you've previously stated that you
- 2:35Speaker 1: only had sex with one woman connected to Mr. Epstein. Answer,
- 2:38Speaker 1: is that correct? Answer, that's correct. Question, would you like
- 2:42Speaker 1: to correct that statement? Answer, no. Question, you previously testified
- 2:47Speaker 1: that between July 2009 and At the end of 2012,
- 2:50Speaker 1: you went to Mr. Epstein's apartment in New York approximately
- 2:54Speaker 1: 40 times or about once a month. Is that correct? Answer, yes. Question,
- 2:59Speaker 1: when you visited Mr. Epstein's New York home, did you
- 3:02Speaker 1: see girls or young women in the room when you
- 3:04Speaker 1: would meet with Mr. Epstein? Answer, no. Question, were there
- 3:08Speaker 1: ever girls or young women sitting on his lap when
- 3:10Speaker 1: you would talk to Mr. Epstein? Answer, no. Question, when
- 3:13Speaker 1: you visited Mr. Epstein's New York home, did you ever
- 3:16Speaker 1: go to the massage room? Answer, no. Question, you testified
- 3:20Speaker 1: previously that you did see the room though, correct? Answer, yes. Question,
- 3:25Speaker 1: and you said that was part of your tour that
- 3:27Speaker 1: you took of the home? Answer, yes. Question, so you
- 3:31Speaker 1: saw the room, but you didn't walk in it? Answer, yes. Question,
- 3:35Speaker 1: what did you see in the massage room? Answer again,
- 3:37Speaker 1: I just saw like it was a dark wall, but
- 3:40Speaker 1: I didn't really see anything in that room. Question, where
- 3:42Speaker 1: was the massage table? Answer, I don't recall. Question, was
- 3:46Speaker 1: there a basket of vibrators? Answer, I didn't see that. Question,
- 3:51Speaker 1: you previously said that you did not receive a massage
- 3:54Speaker 1: in the massage room. Is that correct? Answer, that's correct. Question,
- 3:58Speaker 1: did Mr. Epstein ever arrange massages for you anywhere else? Answer, no,
- 4:02Speaker 1: he did not. Question, how many allegations of sexual abuse
- 4:06Speaker 1: have been made against you? Answer, I think in the
- 4:09Speaker 1: lawsuit against JP Morgan, there was one allegation. It was never,
- 4:12Speaker 1: it was never filed with me. Question, so the allegation
- 4:16Speaker 1: is the only one you're aware of? Answer, yes. Question,
- 4:20Speaker 1: how many women have you settled sexual abuse claims with
- 4:23Speaker 1: or otherwise entered into NDAs with? Answer, none. Question, did
- 4:28Speaker 1: you ever make payments to women that you had sexual
- 4:30Speaker 1: relationships with? Answer, no. Question, have you ever paid or
- 4:34Speaker 1: attempted to pay a minor girl for sex? Answer, no. Question,
- 4:40Speaker 1: I'd like to introduce as Minority Exhibit H a memorandum
- 4:43Speaker 1: to the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New
- 4:45Speaker 1: York from Assistant U.S. Attorney's Dated December 19th, 2019. Bates
- 4:51Speaker 1: number is EFTA 02731082. Question. The document we're handing you
- 4:59Speaker 1: is an excerpt of a larger document. We have marked
- 5:02Speaker 1: the relevant paragraph for you. Question. The memorandum describes law
- 5:07Speaker 1: enforcement's October 24th, 2019 interview with a survivor who Mr.
- 5:12Speaker 1: Epstein started sexually abusing when she was about 20. As
- 5:16Speaker 1: detailed in the memorandum, the survivor told law enforcement that Mr.
- 5:20Speaker 1: Epstein instructed her to, quote, provide a massage to Jess
- 5:23Speaker 1: Staley in Epstein's New York residence. The memorandum says that, quote,
- 5:28Speaker 1: Redacted attempted to give him an ordinary massage, but he
- 5:31Speaker 1: forced Redacted to touch his genitals and then rape Redacted. Afterwards,
- 5:36Speaker 1: Redacted complained to Epstein, who said he left it to
- 5:40Speaker 1: Redacted and Staley to decide whether to engage in sex.
- 5:44Speaker 1: These were the allegations that you were referring to previously, correct?
- 5:48Speaker 1: Or these are different allegations? Sullivan, he can't answer that,
- 5:52Speaker 1: because it would require knowledge from counsel, but it's the
- 5:55Speaker 1: same woman that testified in the J.P. Morgan case that
- 5:58Speaker 1: made a complaint to the New York U.S. Attorney, which
- 6:00Speaker 1: was found not credible. Question, did you ever force the
- 6:04Speaker 1: woman to touch her genitals in the context of the massage? Answer, no. Question,
- 6:09Speaker 1: did you ever sexually abuse, assault, or rape a woman
- 6:12Speaker 1: in the context of a massage? Answer, no. Question, were
- 6:16Speaker 1: you ever violent with a woman in the context of
- 6:18Speaker 1: a massage? Answer, no. Question, I'd like to introduce as
- 6:22Speaker 1: Minority Exhibit 1 an opinion in the class action that
- 6:26Speaker 1: survivors of Mr. Epstein's abuse brought against J.P. Morgan. Question,
- 6:31Speaker 1: the document we're handing you is an excerpt of a
- 6:33Speaker 1: larger document. On page 7, the second full paragraph reads,
- 6:38Speaker 1: Plaintiff alleged that Mr. Staley had first-hand knowledge of Jeffrey
- 6:42Speaker 1: Epstein's sex trafficking operation. Mr. Staley is alleged to have
- 6:46Speaker 1: visited Epstein's residences several times while that operation was ongoing, and,
- 6:51Speaker 1: during these visits, observed JPM Jane Doe as a sexual
- 6:55Speaker 1: trafficking and abuse victim. On page 8, the first full
- 6:59Speaker 1: paragraph reads, quote, JPM Jane Doe claims that one of Mr.
- 7:02Speaker 1: Epstein's friends, whom she later identified as Mr. Staley, used
- 7:15Speaker 1: aggressive force in his sexual assault of her, and informed
- 7:18Speaker 1: JPMorgan Jane Doe that Epstein's permission to do what he
- 7:21Speaker 1: wanted to do to her. Did you sexually abuse and
- 7:24Speaker 1: assault girls or women that you met through Mr. Epstein? Answer, no. Question,
- 7:30Speaker 1: did you ever tell a girl or a woman who Mr.
- 7:32Speaker 1: Epstein abused or trafficked that you had Mr. Epstein's permission
- 7:35Speaker 1: to quote, do what you wanted with her? Answer, no. Question, Mr. Staley,
- 7:41Speaker 1: we have credible information that that you have aggressively, even
- 7:44Speaker 1: violently sexually assaulted multiple women connected to Mr. Epstein. We
- 7:48Speaker 1: are concerned that you are not being truthful in your answers.
- 7:52Speaker 1: Are there any statements that you have made today that
- 7:55Speaker 1: you would like to correct for the record? Answer no.
- 7:58Speaker 1: Question with that? We'll pause and go to members for questions. Ms. Ansari,
- 8:04Speaker 1: as you know, while he was in jail at the
- 8:06Speaker 1: Palm Beach Stockade, Mr. Epstein was allowed to leave the
- 8:09Speaker 1: stockade for 12 hours a day, six days a week.
- 8:12Speaker 1: ostensibly to work for his organization, the Florida Science Foundation,
- 8:16Speaker 1: as part of the work release that he secured. Were
- 8:19Speaker 1: you aware at the time that Mr. Epstein established the
- 8:22Speaker 1: Florida Science Foundation in November of 2007, just months after
- 8:26Speaker 1: he pleaded guilty, and that he dissolved it soon after
- 8:30Speaker 1: his sentence was completed? Staley, no. I know he used
- 8:33Speaker 1: an office building on work release when he was in
- 8:36Speaker 1: jail in Florida, but I didn't know how he constructed
- 8:40Speaker 1: it and what not. Question. So you weren't aware of
- 8:43Speaker 1: the details of the foundation that was created. When did
- 8:46Speaker 1: you become aware of the timeline in terms of the
- 8:48Speaker 1: office that he used? Answer. I think he told me
- 8:52Speaker 1: that he was on work release. So I traveled a lot.
- 8:55Speaker 1: And one time we found a date where he was
- 8:57Speaker 1: on work release and I could visit him in the
- 9:00Speaker 1: office building. Question. So to be clear, were you aware
- 9:04Speaker 1: that there was a Florida Science Foundation? Answer. No, I
- 9:07Speaker 1: was not. Question. You were never aware of that. Answer. No.
- 9:11Speaker 1: that there was a Florida Science Foundation? No. Question? Yes.
- 9:15Speaker 1: That is the organization he created. You were not aware
- 9:18Speaker 1: of it? Okay. Regardless of that, did you have any
- 9:21Speaker 1: concerns about the fact that he was able to get
- 9:24Speaker 1: work release and go to an office for that many
- 9:26Speaker 1: hours a day? Answer? No. Question? Are you aware now
- 9:31Speaker 1: that some survivors have stated that Mr. Epstein abused them
- 9:34Speaker 1: at the Florida Science Foundation offices? Staley? No. Question? Are
- 9:38Speaker 1: you aware that some of the women were hired- And sorry, okay.
- 9:42Speaker 1: One of the women told this committee that, quote, know.
- 9:51Speaker 1: And sorry, okay. One of the women told this committee that, quote,
- 9:54Speaker 1: Jeffrey offered me a position at the Florida Science Foundation
- 9:58Speaker 1: to handle phone calls to help with my financial troubles.
- 10:01Speaker 1: One day, a masseuse called me into the room where
- 10:04Speaker 1: I was molested by Epstein. For the following three years,
- 10:07Speaker 1: I was subject to ongoing rape and stripped of my dignity.
- 10:11Speaker 1: Jeffrey Epstein was under house arrest for the molestation of
- 10:14Speaker 1: underage girls at the exact time that he was abusing me. Mr. Staley,
- 10:19Speaker 1: You visited Mr. Epstein while he was on work release
- 10:22Speaker 1: in Florida, is that correct? Staley, once. Ansari, once. Why
- 10:27Speaker 1: did you visit him there? Answer, he was in jail
- 10:31Speaker 1: and serving time for his offense that he pleaded to.
- 10:34Speaker 1: I had known him for a number of years and
- 10:35Speaker 1: I decided I should go visit him and I did. Question,
- 10:38Speaker 1: so it was a friendly visit? Staley, yeah, I mean
- 10:41Speaker 1: it was. Question, do you recall how long you were there? Answer,
- 10:45Speaker 1: there was a sheriff there and it lasted, I think
- 10:47Speaker 1: it was four. Gets cut off by Ansari at the
- 10:50Speaker 1: office or the jail. Staley at the office. Ansari, okay.
- 10:54Speaker 1: Staley and I was there for less than an hour. Question.
- 10:59Speaker 1: Did you participate in sexual abuse of any women at
- 11:01Speaker 1: the Florida Science Foundation office? Answer, no. And again, there
- 11:06Speaker 1: was a police officer there while I was there. Ansari,
- 11:09Speaker 1: and you were aware that Mr. Epstein was sexually abusing
- 11:12Speaker 1: women at those offices? Staley, no. It seemed incredible to
- 11:16Speaker 1: me that if he's in jail for offenses, that he
- 11:19Speaker 1: would do something like that. And sorry, okay, that's my questions.
- 11:23Speaker 1: Thank you. All right, we're going to wrap up right there.
- 11:26Speaker 1: And in the next episode dealing with the topic, we're
- 11:28Speaker 1: going to pick up with Ms. Stansberry. All the information
- 11:32Speaker 1: that goes with this episode can be found in the
- 11:34Speaker 1: description box.
