  Speaker 1: that art in heaven, I come to you in prayer

  Speaker 1: to be able to have the Holy Spirit be able
• 0:14
  Speaker 1: to speak through this mic and go through the listeners'
• 0:17
  Speaker 1: ears and be able to reach their hearts and minds
• 0:19
  Speaker 1: and be able to apply these verses to their lives.
• 0:22
  Speaker 1: In the Lord Jesus Christ's name I pray. Amen. Highly

  Speaker 1: encourage to grab your Bibles or get on your Bible
• 0:29
  Speaker 1: app and read along as you hear along. Or if

  Speaker 1: you just want to listen, that's fine as well. Just

  Speaker 1: highly recommend you block out all distractions, all noises. And

  Speaker 1: let's just jump right in. It's the believers choose seven
• 0:44
  Speaker 1: men as helpers. Acts chapter 6. At that time, more
• 0:50
  Speaker 1: and more people became disciples of Jesus. Among the believers,
• 0:55
  Speaker 1: some were Jews who spoke the Greek language. Others were
• 0:58
  Speaker 1: Jews who spoke the Amrak language. The Jews who spoke
• 1:04
  Speaker 1: Greek had a problem with the other Jews. They said,
• 1:09
  Speaker 1: The widows in our group do not receive the right help.
• 1:13
  Speaker 1: Each day, when you give out the food and money,
• 1:17
  Speaker 1: our widows receive less than they should get. The twelve
• 1:22
  Speaker 1: apostles heard about the problem. They told all the believers
• 1:25
  Speaker 1: to meet together with them. The apostles said, Our work
• 1:29
  Speaker 1: is to teach people God's message about Jesus. We do
• 1:34
  Speaker 1: not have time to give out the food and the
• 1:36
  Speaker 1: money to people as well. See, when the sick and
• 1:41
  Speaker 1: suffering are looking for just handouts and not necessarily understanding
• 1:49
  Speaker 1: the twelve apostles message, Purpose, right? And mission is the
• 1:57
  Speaker 1: gospel of Jesus Christ, is their purpose. The message is
• 2:03
  Speaker 1: the mission. The mission is the message. But once all
• 2:08
  Speaker 1: these other people that are not believers start to see this,
• 2:11
  Speaker 1: they try to see what can they get out of it.
• 2:13
  Speaker 1: And how do we do that in our lives today?
• 2:17
  Speaker 1: We're always looking at transactional relationships, friendships, and it happens.
• 2:24
  Speaker 1: And we need to correct that. We need to understand
• 2:27
  Speaker 1: that not everybody has their best interest at heart for us,
• 2:32
  Speaker 1: whether it be friends, relationships, jobs, the list goes on.
• 2:36
  Speaker 1: But God's interest at heart is pure and wants to
• 2:43
  Speaker 1: give you a life of prosperity. So friends, please choose
• 2:47
  Speaker 1: seven men from among you. You must know that each
• 2:50
  Speaker 1: of them is full of the Holy Spirit. They must
• 2:53
  Speaker 1: also be very wise. How do you become wise in
• 2:58
  Speaker 1: the Spirit? Being in transitional periods of faith and understanding
• 3:06
  Speaker 1: that others have spiritual ranks. Ooh, let me get into
• 3:10
  Speaker 1: it a little deeper. And I tell you that You
• 3:17
  Speaker 1: will know someone that has the Holy Spirit in them.
• 3:23
  Speaker 1: As long as you have it in you. Then they
• 3:28
  Speaker 1: will have more time to pray. And what is that?
• 3:31
  Speaker 1: We will ask these seven men to do this work
• 3:34
  Speaker 1: for us. We will also have more time to teach
• 3:37
  Speaker 1: people God's message. The whole group of believers was happy
• 3:41
  Speaker 1: about the apostles words. So first they chose a man
• 3:45
  Speaker 1: called Stephan. Stephen believed strongly in God and he was
• 3:54
  Speaker 1: full of the Holy Spirit. The believers also chose six
• 3:58
  Speaker 1: other men. And we can go down the list, but
• 4:00
  Speaker 1: we're going to jump to six. The group of believers
• 4:07
  Speaker 1: put these seven men in front of the apostles. The
• 4:10
  Speaker 1: apostles prayed for each man that they put their hands
• 4:14
  Speaker 1: on them. They gave them authority to do this special work.
• 4:18
  Speaker 1: Some more and more people heard the message from God.
• 4:23
  Speaker 1: The number of people in Jerusalem who believed in Jesus
• 4:26
  Speaker 1: grew more and more. Many of the Jewish priests also
• 4:29
  Speaker 1: believed the message about Jesus. Isn't it amazing to see
• 4:34
  Speaker 1: where it started with one man, Jesus, and the 12 apostles,
• 4:41
  Speaker 1: and now there's millions of us here on this earth
• 4:44
  Speaker 1: that follow Christ? Bringing those glimpses of heaven to earth.
• 4:52
  Speaker 1: By being glorifying God and not ourselves. Now that does
• 4:57
  Speaker 1: not mean that we don't take care of ourselves. We
• 4:59
  Speaker 1: don't take care of our families and things of that nature.
• 5:03
  Speaker 1: But you have to be able to give time to God.
• 5:06
  Speaker 1: Because God, that's all he wants. He just wants your time.
• 5:09
  Speaker 1: He wants your heart. And he wants you to fixate
• 5:12
  Speaker 1: your mind on him. And that's why we have these
• 5:15
  Speaker 1: Bible studies. Some Jewish leaders take hold of Stephen. God
• 5:19
  Speaker 1: helped Stephen in many special ways. God's power was with him.
• 5:24
  Speaker 1: He did many miracles among the people which showed that
• 5:27
  Speaker 1: God was with him. But some men spoke against Stephen.
• 5:33
  Speaker 1: They did not agree with what he taught people. See,
• 5:37
  Speaker 1: not everybody is going to be on the same criteria
• 5:41
  Speaker 1: as you when it comes to Spreading the gospel. And
• 5:44
  Speaker 1: that's okay. Everybody has their way of doing it. Some
• 5:47
  Speaker 1: of the thunder. Some of the lightning. And when I'm
• 5:49
  Speaker 1: using that parable. It is in regards to. Some followers.
• 5:56
  Speaker 1: Some believers. Are straight to the point. And start talking.
• 6:01
  Speaker 1: Straight from. From text. From the Bible. Then there's some
• 6:07
  Speaker 1: that share their testimony. There's some that are very flashy
• 6:11
  Speaker 1: about it. And then there's some. that it is very
• 6:16
  Speaker 1: more emotional. So having the understanding of what kind of
• 6:29
  Speaker 1: faith spreader you are, right? Like being God's son or daughter,
• 6:37
  Speaker 1: it comes with a responsibility. But at the same time,
• 6:41
  Speaker 1: The authority. Ooh, let me preach. Let me preach. Having authority,
• 6:47
  Speaker 1: you need to have responsibility. You need to have accountability.
• 6:52
  Speaker 1: These are things that I've also learned in a program
• 6:54
  Speaker 1: that helped me get to this point. Sometimes you need
• 6:57
  Speaker 1: more help than just the church. Sometimes you need more
• 7:00
  Speaker 1: help than just the Bible. Sometimes you need more help
• 7:02
  Speaker 1: than just praising. You have to get into deep prayer
• 7:05
  Speaker 1: and you have to come to God as you are.
• 7:07
  Speaker 1: Through having that relationship with Jesus, very intimate, very honest
• 7:12
  Speaker 1: and very clear with what it is that is transpiring
• 7:17
  Speaker 1: in you that is not godly. Because that's what we're
• 7:20
  Speaker 1: working to do. We're working to become more like Jesus
• 7:24
  Speaker 1: in aspect, become more like God, having the Holy Spirit.
• 7:29
  Speaker 1: And Jesus is the one that got it done in
• 7:35
  Speaker 1: order for us to have that run and be able
• 7:38
  Speaker 1: to be in line with God. Amen. So some Jewish
• 7:41
  Speaker 1: leaders take a hold of Stephen. God helped Stephen in
• 7:43
  Speaker 1: many special ways. God's power was with him. He did
• 7:47
  Speaker 1: many miracles among the people which showed that God was
• 7:50
  Speaker 1: with him. But some men spoke against Stephen. They did
• 7:54
  Speaker 1: not agree with what he taught people. Then I already
• 7:57
  Speaker 1: read this. But these men from one of the Jewish
• 8:01
  Speaker 1: meeting places in Jerusalem, people called the group of Free men.
• 8:07
  Speaker 1: These men were Jews from the cities called Kyrene and Alexandria.
• 8:14
  Speaker 1: Some of them were from the towns in Chilchia and Asia.
• 8:20
  Speaker 1: They began to argue with Stephen. But the Holy Spirit
• 8:22
  Speaker 1: helped Stephen to be very wise when he spoke. So
• 8:26
  Speaker 1: these men could not say that he was wrong. See,
• 8:30
  Speaker 1: the Holy Spirit will help guide you. The Holy Spirit
• 8:34
  Speaker 1: is what leads a lot of these preachers that are
• 8:37
  Speaker 1: spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ. Amen? So, and it's
• 8:41
  Speaker 1: not just necessarily what you see on your TV screen
• 8:44
  Speaker 1: or what you see at your local church. Sometimes it's, it's,
• 8:49
  Speaker 1: looks can be deceiving. People that really have strong faith
• 8:54
  Speaker 1: and rely on that faith, you would not expect or
• 9:00
  Speaker 1: probably give time to really listen to their wisdom and
• 9:04
  Speaker 1: you should sometimes a lot of us look down upon
• 9:08
  Speaker 1: people that are homeless or people that are they don't
• 9:13
  Speaker 1: look the part right it's very it's very naive to
• 9:18
  Speaker 1: to think like that a lot i mean i understand
• 9:20
  Speaker 1: certain people are on alcohol and their own drugs but
• 9:22
  Speaker 1: there's some people that you know you might be walking
• 9:25
  Speaker 1: by an angel and you don't even know it and
• 9:28
  Speaker 1: that doesn't mean you necessarily have to give them money
• 9:31
  Speaker 1: or give them a lot of time but Sometimes it's
• 9:34
  Speaker 1: nice to be able to make time for people that
• 9:39
  Speaker 1: you normally wouldn't and see the outcome. And it's not
• 9:42
  Speaker 1: all about you. It's about what you can give. Everybody
• 9:45
  Speaker 1: wants to see what they can get out of life.
• 9:49
  Speaker 1: But what can you give? Amen? So let's see where
• 9:53
  Speaker 1: we're at in time. We're on Acts chapter 6, verse 11.
• 9:57
  Speaker 1: Coming back. Yes, we still got time. acts 6 chapter
• 10:07
  Speaker 1: chapter 6 verse 11 states then those men secretly gave
• 10:11
  Speaker 1: money to some bad men they told them to say
• 10:14
  Speaker 1: that you to the jewish leaders we heard this man
• 10:18
  Speaker 1: Stephen said bad things against Moses and against God. This
• 10:23
  Speaker 1: made the people become angry against Stephen. The important Jews
• 10:27
  Speaker 1: and the teachers of God's law also became very angry.
• 10:30
  Speaker 1: So they took a hold of Stephen. They took him
• 10:35
  Speaker 1: to stand in front of the group of the Jewish leaders.
• 10:39
  Speaker 1: Then they brought in some men to say bad things
• 10:41
  Speaker 1: about Stephen. The thing that these men said were not true.
• 10:46
  Speaker 1: They said about Stephen, this man is always saying bad
• 10:48
  Speaker 1: things about the temple. He says bad things against God's law.
• 10:53
  Speaker 1: We also heard him talk about Jesus, the man who
• 10:58
  Speaker 1: comes from Nazareth. He said that Jesus will destroy this place.
• 11:02
  Speaker 1: He also said that Jesus will change the way that
• 11:05
  Speaker 1: Moses taught us to live. And see, when Jesus was
• 11:09
  Speaker 1: talking about the temple, destroying it, he wasn't talking about
• 11:13
  Speaker 1: their temple. He was talking about his nation. his actual temple,
• 11:17
  Speaker 1: his body. So being it as, you know, they were
• 11:20
  Speaker 1: seeing as they, that Jesus was making threats when he
• 11:25
  Speaker 1: said that his temple will be destroyed and it'll be,
• 11:30
  Speaker 1: and it'll be made brand new in three days. And
• 11:34
  Speaker 1: being it as Moses, Moses law, you know, Moses was
• 11:40
  Speaker 1: also a prophet, right? That just couldn't get things done.
• 11:45
  Speaker 1: Nobody was perfect except Jesus. I need to make that
• 11:48
  Speaker 1: clear that there was plenty before Jesus. There was even
• 11:52
  Speaker 1: plenty during Jesus. And there was plenty that was after.
• 11:56
  Speaker 1: And to this day, we're all spitting images of God,
• 12:01
  Speaker 1: but nobody was perfect except Jesus. So that's what separates
• 12:07
  Speaker 1: the men from the boys. And a lot of us
• 12:09
  Speaker 1: are just really babies in faith. We didn't do anything
• 12:13
  Speaker 1: for God. Compared to what Jesus has done. Or some
• 12:15
  Speaker 1: of the other apostles. So let's go ahead and finish
• 12:18
  Speaker 1: out with. All the Jewish leaders who had sat there
• 12:20
  Speaker 1: in the meeting. Looked carefully at Stephen. They saw that
• 12:23
  Speaker 1: his face was very bright. Like the face of an angel.
• 12:27
  Speaker 1: So the Holy Spirit is with you. In times of judgment.
• 12:32
  Speaker 1: There's going to be times where. Things just don't make sense.
• 12:36
  Speaker 1: You don't know what God's up to. And I got
• 12:38
  Speaker 1: these last two minutes. I want to go ahead and
• 12:39
  Speaker 1: give dedication to the love of my life. I want
• 12:41
  Speaker 1: to give. time for prayer as well for my mother
• 12:45
  Speaker 1: so let's get into that lord father that arts in
• 12:47
  Speaker 1: heaven i come to you in prayer to be able
• 12:49
  Speaker 1: to have the holy spirit be able to cleanse us
• 12:52
  Speaker 1: from anything that's not serving your purpose lord and help
• 12:56
  Speaker 1: us be able to stay in communion stay in relationships
• 12:59
  Speaker 1: with those that we care about deeply i pray for
• 13:02
  Speaker 1: my significant other for i will be talking to her
• 13:04
  Speaker 1: soon i pray for a calm cool and collective night
• 13:07
  Speaker 1: and i pray for my mom to be able to
• 13:09
  Speaker 1: have peace of mind peace of heart, peace of soul,
• 13:12
  Speaker 1: peace of spirit, and be connected to the Holy Spirit
• 13:15
  Speaker 1: as the Holy Spirit does wonders and takes that cancer
• 13:18
  Speaker 1: out of her. And I pray for anybody that's going
• 13:20
  Speaker 1: through disease or down, anything that's downplaying their abilities to
• 13:27
  Speaker 1: be able to do your will, Lord. And I pray
• 13:29
  Speaker 1: that I'd be able to get a good night's rest
• 13:31
  Speaker 1: and be able to be sharp and get a job
• 13:33
  Speaker 1: soon and be able to get off these streets and
• 13:36
  Speaker 1: And I pray, Lord, that I'd be able to get
• 13:37
  Speaker 1: out of this tent and be able to be more
• 13:39
  Speaker 1: of a prophet for you. And I pray that I'd
• 13:41
  Speaker 1: be able to pray for others better, talk better, think better,
• 13:46
  Speaker 1: approach better, listen better. Every aspect of me that is lacking, Lord,
• 13:50
  Speaker 1: be able to fix it as well as my significant other, Jennifer,
• 13:54
  Speaker 1: and my brother, my mother, people that I hate. I
• 13:57
  Speaker 1: forgive them. People that hate me, I forgive them. And
• 14:00
  Speaker 1: vice versa, Lord. Help us be able to live more
• 14:02
  Speaker 1: in your will and your light. In the Lord Jesus
• 14:05
  Speaker 1: Christ's name, I pray. Amen. And I also want to
• 14:08
  Speaker 1: take this last minute to just realize that anything that
• 14:13
  Speaker 1: I have said is also spirit-based. And it is also
• 14:18
  Speaker 1: my preaching and teaching. So, there might be some things
• 14:22
  Speaker 1: that might not resonate with you. But this is the
