Transcript
- 0:00[SPEAKER_00]: Jacksonville Jackworth fans welcome in to do wall daily presented by Jin Jack.com and fueled by Brass Tax Coffee.
- 0:05[SPEAKER_00]: It's Wednesday, July 8th, another day, another example of disrespect playing right into the Jackworth's hands, giving Liam Cohen and company all the ammunition that they need to keep themselves motivated as if they actually needed that.
- 0:19[SPEAKER_00]: But even if they don't need it, they will use it.
- 0:23[SPEAKER_00]: ESPN is ranking the top 10 players at each position group in the NFL.
- 0:30[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, today earlier this morning, they put out, and ESPN isn't really to blame for this, in my opinion.
- 0:41[SPEAKER_00]: They interview a bunch of coaches, executives, scouts, to put together these top 10 groups.
- 0:48[SPEAKER_00]: But nonetheless, they put out running backs earlier this week, not surprised that no Jaguar is going to be on that list.
- 0:55[SPEAKER_00]: There isn't a Jaguar's running back that has really carried the ball enough in the NFL to be on that list.
- 1:02[SPEAKER_00]: Cornerbacks yesterday.
- 1:04[SPEAKER_00]: Travis Hunter did receive votes.
- 1:05[SPEAKER_00]: He was not a top 10 player or a honorable mention, but he did receive votes.
- 1:11[SPEAKER_00]: So good for him, considering he's played like 150 snaps on the defensive side of the ball in his young career.
- 1:18[SPEAKER_00]: Good for him.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_00]: I do think he will earn a top 10 spot.
- 1:21[SPEAKER_00]: And Ed rushers came out today.
- 1:25[SPEAKER_00]: You'll have defensive tackles tomorrow, tight ends the next day.
- 1:28[SPEAKER_00]: Will Britain strange crack the top 10 tight ends he should.
- 1:32[SPEAKER_00]: He absolutely should.
- 1:33[SPEAKER_00]: Defensive tackle wise, I don't think you'll see Devon Hamilton or Eric Armstead, even though there are arguments for them to be up there.
- 1:41[SPEAKER_00]: Offensive tackle, I don't want to expect you to see Jack Wars players up there.
- 1:44[SPEAKER_00]: I think Anton Harris and probably has an argument.
- 1:47[SPEAKER_00]: I haven't really crunched the numbers there.
- 1:50[SPEAKER_00]: And to your offensive line, not to see any Jack Wars quarterback.
- 1:53[SPEAKER_00]: Could you see, Trevor Lawrence up there?
- 1:55[SPEAKER_00]: Off-ball linebacker, FOIA should be up there, receiver?
- 2:00[SPEAKER_00]: Probably not gonna see a Jaguar.
- 2:02[SPEAKER_00]: Safety's Antonio Johnson, could he be up there?
- 2:05[SPEAKER_00]: It's gonna be interesting to see for sure.
- 2:07[SPEAKER_00]: But Josh Heinz Allen, North Trayvon Walker, made the top 10.
- 2:12[SPEAKER_00]: We'll go ahead and run through the top 10, but first did wanna remind y'all,
- 2:17[SPEAKER_00]: Our hat sales going on over at genjag.com.
- 2:19[SPEAKER_00]: It's 40% off all hats right now, code Duval.
- 2:23[SPEAKER_00]: That's Duval with three use, D-U-U-U, V-A-L, genjag.com, all of our hats.
- 2:29[SPEAKER_00]: So at number one, miles Garrett.
- 2:32[SPEAKER_00]: At number two, Michael Parsons.
- 2:34[SPEAKER_00]: Number three, will Anderson.
- 2:35[SPEAKER_00]: Number four, Max Crosby.
- 2:37[SPEAKER_00]: Number five, Aiden Hutchinson.
- 2:39[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not having a problem with anything here.
- 2:40[SPEAKER_00]: Denial Hunter at number six, that's fine.
- 2:43[SPEAKER_00]: Then you get to seven overall.
- 2:48[SPEAKER_00]: It ain't twenty twenty three anymore.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_00]: TJ Wat does not belong at seven on this list.
- 2:54[SPEAKER_00]: There is no chance in the world.
- 2:56[SPEAKER_00]: TJ Wat belongs at seven on this list.
- 2:58[SPEAKER_00]: At number eight, Nick Bosa.
- 3:00[SPEAKER_00]: So we all know kind of the story with Nick Bosa.
- 3:03[SPEAKER_00]: If he had, if he had not been dealing with so many injuries throughout his career, he might be in the top three or four.
- 3:12[SPEAKER_00]: But he's dealt with a lot of injuries, dealt with injuries last year.
- 3:18[SPEAKER_00]: torn ACL, so they put him at eight on the list.
- 3:21[SPEAKER_00]: It's difficult to rank a guy who's injured all the time.
- 3:25[SPEAKER_00]: It just is.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_00]: So that is what it is.
- 3:31[SPEAKER_00]: I don't have any problem with him being on the list on the top 10.
- 3:35[SPEAKER_00]: Brian Burns at nine.
- 3:38[SPEAKER_00]: You're just talking about a pure past, Russia, maybe, but ain't no way in the world.
- 3:42[SPEAKER_00]: I'm taking Brian Burns over Josh Hinds Allen.
- 3:45[SPEAKER_00]: And this is coming for somebody who loves Brian Burns coming out.
- 3:49[SPEAKER_00]: I just think when you talk about a complete game, Josh Hines Allen is much better player.
- 3:54[SPEAKER_00]: And yes, you can make the argument, oh, Brian Burns had 16 and a half sacks.
- 3:57[SPEAKER_00]: That's true.
- 3:57[SPEAKER_00]: He did.
- 3:58[SPEAKER_00]: That's great.
- 3:58[SPEAKER_00]: But he doesn't play the run like Josh Hines Allen.
- 4:01[SPEAKER_00]: And if you combine the last three years of those two players, Josh Hines Allen has just as many sacks.
- 4:09[SPEAKER_00]: Amy's a better runner-fender.
- 4:11[SPEAKER_00]: and he gets his much pressure or more on the quarterback.
- 4:14[SPEAKER_00]: Actually, significantly more pressure on the quarterback than Brian Burns.
- 4:17[SPEAKER_00]: So I would take Josh Allen's over Brian Burns all day.
- 4:21[SPEAKER_00]: I would take him over TJ Watt right now all day and ain't close.
- 4:25[SPEAKER_00]: Nick Benito.
- 4:26[SPEAKER_00]: Again, it is not close.
- 4:30[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, Nick Benito is a very good pastracher.
- 4:36[SPEAKER_00]: He's a one trick pony though.
- 4:38[SPEAKER_00]: In my opinion, he is a speed rusher, and he can beat you around the outside arc and can spit back inside.
- 4:43[SPEAKER_00]: That's all good and dandy, right?
- 4:44[SPEAKER_00]: But Josh Hines Allen is a better football player than Nick Benito.
- 4:50[SPEAKER_00]: That's my opinion.
- 4:53[SPEAKER_00]: You could say Nick Benito's a more productive, sack artist, and he has been over the last couple years, but he does not give you anything in the wrong game compared to Josh Hines Allen.
- 5:04[SPEAKER_00]: Josh Hines Allen,
- 5:07[SPEAKER_00]: was the second most important player when it comes to defending the run on the Jaguar's team last year and one of the most impactful run defenders in the NFL at edge.
- 5:18[SPEAKER_00]: And still one of the most impactful pastructures in the NFL at edge.
- 5:23[SPEAKER_00]: Nick Bonito just does not bring the complete game that Josh Hines Allen brings, that's my opinion.
- 5:28[SPEAKER_00]: And if we're just talking about the best season, Josh
- 5:36[SPEAKER_00]: He has that in him.
- 5:39[SPEAKER_00]: Honorable mentions, Jared Vers, Tray Hendrickson, and Josh Heinz Allen.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_00]: Quote, not elite, but consistently very good with a quality power rush game from an anonymous NFC scout.
- 5:53[SPEAKER_00]: Also receiving votes, Tray Vaughn Walker, Jalen Phillips Montez sweat, Latu Latu, Nick Harbig, and Alex Heismeth.
- 6:00[SPEAKER_00]: So, yeah, both of these guys, I guess you would,
- 6:06[SPEAKER_00]: I guess Josh Heinz Allen is in the top 13 here.
- 6:11[SPEAKER_00]: According to these, this poll and rankings drive on Walker, I guess, like in the top 20.
- 6:18[SPEAKER_00]: I think Josh Heinz Allen, if I was making this, if I was legitimately putting together who I would take on my team over Josh Heinz Allen right now.
- 6:32[SPEAKER_00]: Miles Garrett, Micah Parsons, Will Anderson, Max Crosby, Aden Hutchinson, although, yeah, I'll take Hutch, Deniel Hunter, for one season, he's older than Josh Hinds Allen.
- 6:52[SPEAKER_00]: I'd probably take Allen over everybody else.
- 6:53[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, look, Nick Bosa, I get it, but he's always injured.
- 6:59[SPEAKER_00]: So I would put Josh Hines Allen at seven.
- 7:04[SPEAKER_00]: I think based on the way this list kind of reads, he's at 13, I think that's crazy.
- 7:14[SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely crazy.
- 7:17[SPEAKER_00]: But it's great.
- 7:19[SPEAKER_00]: This is the kind of thing that the Jag wars can that Liam Cohen can pump into that locker room.
- 7:29[SPEAKER_00]: doing everything they can to attack this offseason to make sure that they do not have a sophomore slump to make sure that they're not one year wonders.
- 7:38[SPEAKER_00]: Given them this motivation that they're getting it everywhere.
- 7:42[SPEAKER_00]: From Josh Hinds Allen, uh, you know, being ranked, I guess 13th, among these ad
- 7:55[SPEAKER_00]: to the Jaguar's offensive line being ranked like 29th by my certain outlets to everybody picking the Texans to win not only the vision but the Super Bowl.
- 8:11[SPEAKER_00]: It's all out there.
- 8:12[SPEAKER_00]: It is all out there and that's a great thing.
- 8:15[SPEAKER_00]: That is a great thing to build a camaraderie,
- 8:26[SPEAKER_00]: I forgot to share this the other day, but I think it, I think it was CBS Sports, somebody over there gave the Jaguar's offseason and F. The consensus board argument is back, right?
- 8:42[SPEAKER_00]: So this is, this is great.
- 8:44[SPEAKER_00]: This plays into the Jaguar's hands.
- 8:48[SPEAKER_00]: I would honestly much rather have the Jaguar's get disrespected all offseason than have them
- 8:56[SPEAKER_00]: I really would, I think that is better for the locker room.
- 8:59[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's better for the culture.
- 9:01[SPEAKER_00]: It's better for the hunger.
- 9:03[SPEAKER_00]: And now, if they go do again in 2026, what they did in 2025, and maybe make it a step or two further in the post season, you're not going to be getting all that stuff for for 2027.
- 9:15[SPEAKER_00]: People are going to be on the bandwagon.
- 9:17[SPEAKER_00]: But we know with the jag wars, you got to prove it multiple times for people to think you're real just because
- 9:25[SPEAKER_00]: Fairly, or unfairly, people don't forget.
- 9:29[SPEAKER_00]: People don't forget what happened after 2022.
- 9:32[SPEAKER_00]: The collapse in late 2023.
- 9:34[SPEAKER_00]: People don't forget what happened after 2017.
- 9:38[SPEAKER_00]: What happened after every playoff run since 2000 for the Jaguars, which is a disappointing follow-up season.
- 9:46[SPEAKER_00]: So, yeah, they've got to go earn it.
- 9:49[SPEAKER_00]: I think that,
- 9:50[SPEAKER_00]: the disrespect is going to help them help fuel them to do just that and Liam Cohen is going to use it expertly to motivate his guys.
- 9:59[SPEAKER_00]: So thank you to everybody out there that is not given the jack the jack wars the respect that they likely deserve.
- 10:07[SPEAKER_00]: Really appreciate that.
- 10:08[SPEAKER_00]: Thank y'all so much for being here.
