- 0:28Speaker 1: Is that the right context?
- 0:29Speaker 2: Thank god? Yeah, it's winter baby.
- 0:32Speaker 1: How you feeling loving it? Yeah?
- 0:35Speaker 3: You're in your zone.
- 0:36Speaker 1: Ready to thrive in eighteen degrees.
- 0:39Speaker 2: Yeah, it's been a long twelve months, but you made
- 0:41Speaker 2: it back.
- 0:41Speaker 1: I know it comes around quick though, And I'm excited
- 0:44Speaker 1: because this is one of our favorite episodes to do.
- 0:46Speaker 3: But it's also one of the favorites for the chicks.
- 0:49Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 0:49Speaker 1: I think we say that at the start of every Yeah,
- 0:52Speaker 1: he's check episodes. But yeah, every time we get into
- 0:56Speaker 1: a new season, we do our Hot Chick checklist for
- 1:02Speaker 1: the season because it's just fun and we like to
- 1:04Speaker 1: do it. We love a list.
- 1:06Speaker 2: We do slot for a list.
- 1:07Speaker 3: Yeah, you know.
- 1:09Speaker 2: But before we get into it, should we go through
- 1:11Speaker 2: our obsessions of the week? All right, hip meth.
- 1:15Speaker 1: My obsession of the week is Keiki Harmer. Ah, just
- 1:20Speaker 1: full stop, that's it, yeah, because I mean it's really
- 1:24Speaker 1: an ongoing obsession. She's doing her press tour for the
- 1:28Speaker 1: new movie I Love Boosters at the moment.
- 1:30Speaker 3: So she's kind of everywhere.
- 1:32Speaker 1: And she was recently on an episode of Royal Court
- 1:35Speaker 1: Britney Broski's show. We watched it together and absolutely loved it.
- 1:39Speaker 3: She also did.
- 1:41Speaker 1: An episode of Phoning It In with l Have you
- 1:44Speaker 1: seen series? It's so funny? So a few different celebrities
- 1:49Speaker 1: do it, but it's this series where they get celebs
- 1:52Speaker 1: to basically prank call their other celebrity friends.
- 1:56Speaker 2: It's so I have seen that.
- 1:58Speaker 1: Yeah, it's so funny. So she's like calling people trying
- 2:01Speaker 1: to convince them that shell.
- 2:04Speaker 3: She calls Aesa.
- 2:04Speaker 1: Ray and so one of her I was gonna say
- 2:08Speaker 1: coworkers co stars from a previous project, and she's trying
- 2:12Speaker 1: to convince her that she's going to be joining a cult.
- 2:15Speaker 1: And it's so she funny.
- 2:18Speaker 2: She's like, she is so talented, Yeah, like great singer,
- 2:25Speaker 2: great actress, great human.
- 2:27Speaker 1: And she's just I think she's probably the funniest person
- 2:30Speaker 1: on the planet. I agree. I like her. When I
- 2:32Speaker 1: try to think of my favorite comedians, and I'm like,
- 2:35Speaker 1: she doesn't even really do stand up comedy. I think
- 2:38Speaker 1: she said she's done it like once. Yeah, I wasn't
- 2:40Speaker 1: really into it, but I'm like, she's probably up there
- 2:43Speaker 1: for me, seriously, just naturally funny, naturally charismatic. Yeah, honestly,
- 2:48Speaker 1: Like if you are in a shit mood, just go
- 2:50Speaker 1: on TikTok and look up Key keep Harmer best Moments.
- 2:53Speaker 3: And it's an booster.
- 2:55Speaker 1: I love that.
- 2:56Speaker 3: That's a good pick. Yeah, what's yours? Okay?
- 2:58Speaker 2: Mine is a re It's an article I saw on
- 3:01Speaker 2: Time Out and it is the top ten most popular
- 3:05Speaker 2: Cabri chocolates.
- 3:07Speaker 1: I saw this, did you say? Did you saved it
- 3:10Speaker 1: to bring to the show?
- 3:11Speaker 3: And I'll beat you to it?
- 3:13Speaker 2: Beat you to it. So Australia's ten most popular Cabri
- 3:16Speaker 2: chocolate bars. I'm going to start from ten to lead
- 3:20Speaker 2: to one, just to edge you a little bit.
- 3:22Speaker 1: Yeah, I love it, Okay, the drama Yeah, number ten,
- 3:25Speaker 1: A twelve breakaway okay.
- 3:28Speaker 2: Number nine, A flake should be higher in my opinion.
- 3:33Speaker 2: Eight A boost Okay, I do fuck with a boost.
- 3:38Speaker 2: Seven Dairy Milk, Marvelous Creations, jelly popping candy and beanies.
- 3:43Speaker 1: Bar that should be way higher up.
- 3:47Speaker 2: Robbed six crunchy okay, A classic, A classic. Yeah, I
- 3:54Speaker 2: don't know if I would write home about it.
- 3:56Speaker 1: I like the cabrit bar that has the crunchy bits
- 3:59Speaker 1: in up better than an actual cabri.
- 4:02Speaker 2: I like a crunchy Easter egg yum. Yeah yeah, you know.
- 4:07Speaker 2: All right, Now we're into the top five. This is
- 4:09Speaker 2: where I have my issue. This is where I think
- 4:12Speaker 2: it gets a bit fucked up. What number five is
- 4:16Speaker 2: a picnic? I know you like a picnic, but I thought.
- 4:20Speaker 3: That they were a bit divisive though.
- 4:21Speaker 2: I'm surprised. Number four is a cherry ripe.
- 4:27Speaker 1: I like a cherry ryp. I like a cherry ripe.
- 4:29Speaker 2: Again, it's not what I'm picking up when I'm filling
- 4:32Speaker 2: up petrol at the petrol station, you know.
- 4:35Speaker 1: I feel like a cherry ripe is like a picnic.
- 4:37Speaker 1: You either love it or you hate it. So I'm
- 4:39Speaker 1: surprised that it's so high.
- 4:40Speaker 2: A number three dairy milk just plain okay, chocolate, everyone's boring.
- 4:48Speaker 1: I do love it though, but again.
- 4:50Speaker 2: But not in a chocolate bar. Like it's too much.
- 4:53Speaker 2: I feel like my my tongue is sticking to the
- 4:55Speaker 2: roof of my man.
- 4:55Speaker 1: You know what, if I want a dairy milk, I'm
- 4:57Speaker 1: not grabbing a block of dairy milk. A fretto like.
- 5:01Speaker 3: Something with a bit of fucking whimsy.
- 5:03Speaker 2: Yeah. And then number two Turkish Delight get bar.
- 5:13Speaker 1: That shouldn't even be in the top ten.
- 5:16Speaker 2: I fucking love a Turkish I love it. I love it.
- 5:19Speaker 2: There's a reason I agree. I don't think that should
- 5:23Speaker 2: be number two, but I do love a Turkish Delight,
- 5:26Speaker 2: especially in the freezer. Get the little ones, put them
- 5:29Speaker 2: in the freezer, thank me later. But number one the
- 5:33Speaker 2: most popular Cabri chocolate bar. Do you want to take
- 5:36Speaker 2: a guess?
- 5:37Speaker 1: Okay, so we've had twelves Flakes, boost S, Marvelous Creations,
- 5:41Speaker 1: Crunchy picnic, Jerry Ripe, dairy milk, Turkish Delight number one.
- 5:44Speaker 2: Go what just popped in your head?
- 5:46Speaker 1: Is it fucking white chocolate?
- 5:48Speaker 2: No? It's not?
- 5:49Speaker 1: Okay, good because that would have pissed me off. Caramelo
- 5:55Speaker 1: like caramelzo. Right, I'm taking myself to like the servo
- 6:03Speaker 1: like I'm in a seven eleven.
- 6:05Speaker 2: I don't think you're gonna get it because I think
- 6:07Speaker 2: there's like a red herring.
- 6:11Speaker 3: It's a twel.
- 6:12Speaker 1: I was gonna say twelve, you have because you said twelve. Breakaway,
- 6:17Speaker 1: that's what I mean.
- 6:18Speaker 2: There was a bit of a red herring.
- 6:19Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, and then when you said twel again, I
- 6:22Speaker 1: was like, oh no, we said twelve. Damn. I love
- 6:26Speaker 1: a twel and I will say a twelve is better
- 6:28Speaker 1: than a flake.
- 6:30Speaker 2: Yeah, I really don't like it when you say that.
- 6:33Speaker 1: It's true. I really don't like there's no argument that
- 6:36Speaker 1: tells you that a flake is better than a twelve,
- 6:38Speaker 1: because a twirl has more chocolate and it encases the flake,
- 6:43Speaker 1: whereas when you eat a flake, it's like you're eating
- 6:45Speaker 1: a piece of like asbestos. It just like crumbles everywhere.
- 6:50Speaker 1: And I eat assressed us all the time. So I
- 6:52Speaker 1: would know what's.
- 6:53Speaker 2: The opposite of ovulation because soals in that.
- 6:57Speaker 1: I don't think I am actually supposed to be ovulating.
- 6:59Speaker 3: But I'm passionate.
- 7:01Speaker 1: I love it to weirl.
- 7:03Speaker 2: Umm.
- 7:04Speaker 1: I'm surprised about that though. Look, I don't think that.
- 7:08Speaker 2: Man does include other brands.
- 7:12Speaker 1: Though.
- 7:13Speaker 2: Yeah, but like aerobar aerobars number one for me?
- 7:18Speaker 3: What's that?
- 7:19Speaker 4: Yees?
- 7:19Speaker 3: Yeah, like a kit cat.
- 7:21Speaker 2: I'm also a curly weally now we're talking. Now, we're
- 7:25Speaker 2: fucking now, we're cooking with guess absolutely, yeah, okay, but
- 7:29Speaker 2: please tell us in the comments what chocolate you thought
- 7:32Speaker 2: should have been number one? Feel free to let the
- 7:37Speaker 2: hunger games literally you ever be in your favor? Wait,
- 7:39Speaker 2: that wasn't the quote. That's fine, you get what I
- 7:41Speaker 2: mean now that Yeah, thank you.
- 7:43Speaker 1: I'm just glad that I'm rum and raised and wasn't
- 7:45Speaker 1: in there. Otherwise I would have been pissed.
- 7:46Speaker 2: Yeah, Foy Rocky Road. There's like a Cabri Rocky road block.
- 7:51Speaker 2: We could talk about this, yeah for thirty minutes.
- 7:54Speaker 3: Cabre sponsor us.
- 7:56Speaker 1: Yeah, not one, but we're willing and ready.
- 7:59Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, I'm ready.
- 8:01Speaker 1: Okay, should we get into our hot chick winter check?
- 8:04Speaker 3: Let's do it.
- 8:05Speaker 2: Okay, what is the first thing you are buying to
- 8:08Speaker 2: survive winter? Pajamas locked in like proto comfies, right, yeah.
- 8:15Speaker 1: Winter comfies overall, probably a very basic and obvious answer,
- 8:20Speaker 1: but I do think it's a very important purchase.
- 8:22Speaker 5: It's the most important purchase, right, yes, because not only
- 8:27Speaker 5: is sleep where and your company is obviously very practical
- 8:31Speaker 5: in winter, Like it's fucking cold and.
- 8:33Speaker 1: We need to prioritize things that are keeping us warm
- 8:36Speaker 1: or even like with your pj stuff that has like
- 8:38Speaker 1: that sleep that body temperature sleep tech.
- 8:42Speaker 3: Because I always go to sleep.
- 8:44Speaker 1: Freezing and then I wake up in the middle of
- 8:46Speaker 1: the night and I'm so hot. So I'm like, something
- 8:48Speaker 1: that does have that body temperature reactive tech in it
- 8:51Speaker 1: is so helpful. So yes, there's all of that stuff.
- 8:55Speaker 1: You know, we got to keep warm, keep healthy, all
- 8:57Speaker 1: of that. But it's also a bit of a cycle
- 9:00Speaker 1: logical tool, don't you think, Because changing into your pajamas
- 9:04Speaker 1: or changing into your comfies after a long day signals
- 9:09Speaker 1: to your brain it's time to switch off. Yeah, it's
- 9:11Speaker 1: time to relax. It's time to wind down and get
- 9:14Speaker 1: ready for sleep and that restorative time, which I think
- 9:19Speaker 1: is one of the best parts about winter. I agree.
- 9:22Speaker 2: I also think we need to start being well. I
- 9:25Speaker 2: need to start This is what I've been doing as
- 9:27Speaker 2: it started getting colder, being a little.
- 9:30Speaker 1: Bit more gatekeeper of when you wear the winter comfies.
- 9:33Speaker 3: Oh my god, yes, because I.
- 9:36Speaker 2: Will like get a winter comfies and then I'm like,
- 9:38Speaker 2: I'm wearing this everywhere. I'm wearing this, Like if I
- 9:40Speaker 2: can get away with wearing.
- 9:41Speaker 1: It to work, if I can wear it to go
- 9:44Speaker 1: get a coffee, if I can wear it in bed,
- 9:47Speaker 1: but also.
- 9:47Speaker 2: When I get home, get changed and I put the
- 9:49Speaker 2: comfies on, but then I'm also wearing it as a pajama.
- 9:51Speaker 2: That I'm like, I think we need to start putting
- 9:55Speaker 2: some companies on a pedestal that it's like, no, that
- 9:58Speaker 2: is bed only comfies.
- 10:00Speaker 1: Absolutely, that is TV.
- 10:01Speaker 2: Watching comfies, And that is like, okay, that's company. I
- 10:04Speaker 2: can wear that to work comfies. Because it's like that
- 10:09Speaker 2: thing we spoke about like last year. It's like once
- 10:12Speaker 2: you wear a T shirt to bed, like once you
- 10:14Speaker 2: wear a graphic tea or a T shirt to bed,
- 10:17Speaker 2: that's a bad T shirt And like that kind of
- 10:20Speaker 2: ruins the vibe of that T shirt. There's no psychological
- 10:23Speaker 2: study behind this except for that THEO fit.
- 10:27Speaker 3: It tarnishes, It tarnishes.
- 10:29Speaker 2: But I also think if you start wearing your winter comfies,
- 10:32Speaker 2: like you know, all the time, if you're wearing it
- 10:36Speaker 2: to work, if you're wearing it to go outside and
- 10:39Speaker 2: get a snack or whatever, it then loses the essence
- 10:43Speaker 2: of comfy when you're at home.
- 10:45Speaker 1: Do you agree. Basically, like that psychological tool is now
- 10:50Speaker 1: moot because it doesn't signify I put these on when
- 10:54Speaker 1: it's time to unwind. It's like, well, shit, I put
- 10:57Speaker 1: these on. Am I going to like for a macas run,
- 11:00Speaker 1: or am I going to work? Or am I going
- 11:02Speaker 1: to like settle in and watch my.
- 11:03Speaker 3: Favorite TV show?
- 11:04Speaker 1: I don't know. Yeah, having the little uniforms for those
- 11:08Speaker 1: times in your life that give you that physical signals, yeah,
- 11:14Speaker 1: that physical signal to say it's time to relax.
- 11:17Speaker 3: Now, yeah, let's switch off.
- 11:18Speaker 2: So I've been trying to like not put on because
- 11:21Speaker 2: I have my favorite companies and I want to put
- 11:24Speaker 2: those on straight away when I get home. But I'm like, no, no,
- 11:26Speaker 2: we put those on when it's like where we can
- 11:31Speaker 2: then go to bed. Because the thing that I hate
- 11:33Speaker 2: is if I put my comfies on and I haven't
- 11:36Speaker 2: showered or taken off my makeup just.
- 11:39Speaker 1: Way, I've really got a viscile reaction.
- 11:42Speaker 2: But like when I get home, I'm taking my jeans
- 11:44Speaker 2: fucking off, Like I'm not sitting at home in my
- 11:46Speaker 2: jeans till dinner time. That's atrocious to me. That's like
- 11:52Speaker 2: taking a long haul flight in a pair of jeans.
- 11:54Speaker 1: I've done that before.
- 11:56Speaker 2: How long was the flight?
- 11:58Speaker 1: How long is it to fly from Sydney to Miami?
- 12:01Speaker 1: I guess something. Whatever. So the first time I'd ever
- 12:04Speaker 1: been on a plane, and I was twenty one, I
- 12:06Speaker 1: didn't know.
- 12:07Speaker 3: I didn't know that, you know, I didn't know. I
- 12:10Speaker 3: didn't know.
- 12:11Speaker 1: I didn't never again, Yeah, oh you poor thing?
- 12:16Speaker 2: Were they skinny jeans?
- 12:18Speaker 1: Yell black skinny jeans in twenty fourteen? But I was
- 12:24Speaker 1: on my way to meet one direction, so nothing could
- 12:26Speaker 1: have tarnished my shine, you know. Oh yeah, I'm sure
- 12:32Speaker 1: if I ever had.
- 12:33Speaker 2: An opportunity to have a back to the future moment,
- 12:36Speaker 2: I'd save you. I'd go back and I'd get you,
- 12:39Speaker 2: and I'd go to Christmas future you Yeah, and I'd
- 12:42Speaker 2: be likely yeah, track, Yeah, You're like, what if Harry's
- 12:48Speaker 2: on the plane exactly.
- 12:49Speaker 1: Yeah, You're like, he's also flying, if he's Sydney to Miami.
- 12:53Speaker 1: What if he's at the airport with the sign saying
- 12:55Speaker 1: my wife will.
- 12:56Speaker 3: You marry me?
- 12:57Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 12:57Speaker 1: Missus styles, I know that's definitely what I was thin.
- 13:00Speaker 1: But anyway, back to the comfies, Yes, do you have
- 13:04Speaker 1: any res for us for pajamas?
- 13:08Speaker 3: Bead bathroom table.
- 13:09Speaker 1: We have done sponsored content with them before, but this
- 13:12Speaker 1: isn't sponsored. I genuinely love them. We buy them all
- 13:16Speaker 1: the time also, but that's just because they always come
- 13:19Speaker 1: out with really really good crimes. Yeah, and we just
- 13:22Speaker 1: can't resist.
- 13:23Speaker 2: Shal also has a pajama addiction.
- 13:25Speaker 1: Yeah, I just love them, and they're like that cotton flannelight.
- 13:28Speaker 3: So they're really cozy and snugly.
- 13:32Speaker 1: And also Bonds is really good too, and they do
- 13:35Speaker 1: have that they've got like cotton bamboo, also very soft,
- 13:39Speaker 1: and they've got that sleep tech that I was talking about, Yeah,
- 13:42Speaker 1: the temperature control, which I need because I get sweaty.
- 13:46Speaker 2: Yeah. I don't think you should be spending too much
- 13:48Speaker 2: money on your into comfies.
- 13:50Speaker 1: Well that's a good thing about it as well, is
- 13:52Speaker 1: that both of these brands are pretty affordable anyway, but
- 13:55Speaker 1: they're also very regularly on sale.
- 13:57Speaker 2: Yeah. And good fiber composition because you don't want like
- 14:01Speaker 2: synthetic fibers in your companies. Because especially for the reason
- 14:05Speaker 2: that you were saying before, you can get a sweaty girl.
- 14:08Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly, something easy, breezy, beautiful girl.
- 14:13Speaker 4: Okay, we're on the same page. Yeah, Okay, when we
- 14:17Speaker 4: don't a light.
- 14:38Speaker 2: All right, My purchase number two is you to sacrifice
- 14:44Speaker 2: one thing you replace with another, and it's to kill
- 14:47Speaker 2: the big light. Kill it.
- 14:50Speaker 1: We have two huge lights.
- 14:52Speaker 3: Yeah, you know.
- 14:54Speaker 2: So this kind of has a bit of a backstory
- 14:58Speaker 2: to it, and it's something that you've mentioned on the
- 15:00Speaker 2: podcast before, so I won't go too deep into it,
- 15:02Speaker 2: but friendly reminder, friendly pop quiz reminder, And it's the
- 15:06Speaker 2: science of hige Higge is that how you say. It's
- 15:09Speaker 2: a Danish word.
- 15:11Speaker 1: And this kind of comes from the fact that I
- 15:13Speaker 1: went to Denmark with Ikea like three weeks ago by
- 15:16Speaker 1: the time this came out, and during that trip we
- 15:20Speaker 1: went to Ikea designers' houses. They just had the most
- 15:27Speaker 1: beautiful homes and houses I've ever seen in my life,
- 15:32Speaker 1: and I wanted to live in every single one. All
- 15:35Speaker 1: of them were so different in their own ways, but
- 15:38Speaker 1: every single one of them had comfort and coziness as
- 15:43Speaker 1: the consistent thread throughout of them. So this term is
- 15:48Speaker 1: this Danish and Norwegian concept that roughly translates to coziness,
- 15:53Speaker 1: comfort and warmth. And it's not an.
- 15:56Speaker 2: Aesthetic because like I said, all the houses were different,
- 15:59Speaker 2: but it was a feeling. Yeah, And you know, all
- 16:03Speaker 2: of them had kind of like dim lighting candles, Like
- 16:09Speaker 2: none of them had the big light. At one point
- 16:12Speaker 2: in one of their houses, I looked up, it didn't exist.
- 16:18Speaker 2: They didn't even have a big light in the ceilings.
- 16:22Speaker 2: They didn't have like the what are the what are
- 16:24Speaker 2: these ones called in the ceiling ones?
- 16:27Speaker 1: Yeah, I know what you're saying. I don't know what
- 16:28Speaker 1: they're called. The ceiling called the lights that are like
- 16:31Speaker 1: embedded in the city. Yeah, like those little circles of
- 16:34Speaker 1: death that are in the ceiling that like kill you slowly.
- 16:38Speaker 2: Yeah. And it just was so enlightening to me that
- 16:44Speaker 2: I was like, I already feel like my house or
- 16:47Speaker 2: my house, my home is like very cozy and company,
- 16:52Speaker 2: but I was like, we gotta lean in more. And like,
- 16:56Speaker 2: the one thing that was really consistent all of them
- 16:59Speaker 2: was the lighting and how the big light was just
- 17:03Speaker 2: not it and not the vibe. And so I was
- 17:08Speaker 2: kind of looking into this because you know how everyone
- 17:11Speaker 2: always talks about hospital lighting and office lighting as a
- 17:15Speaker 2: thing that's like really yuck stale. Yeah, Well, the reason
- 17:19Speaker 2: why that's so stale is because office lighting and hospital
- 17:23Speaker 2: lighting that use those big lights is supposed to keep
- 17:26Speaker 2: you alert. They're designed to use like a cool undertone
- 17:32Speaker 2: and be super bright in order to trick your circadian
- 17:36Speaker 2: rhythm into being alert and awake. Yeah, so when you
- 17:42Speaker 2: go home or when you're at home and you're turning
- 17:44Speaker 2: on the big light, you're telling your brain wake up, like,
- 17:49Speaker 2: be alert. It triggers. It scientifically triggers your fight or flight.
- 17:53Speaker 3: Dear god, I know.
- 17:55Speaker 2: So it not only raises cortisol, it delays sleep on set,
- 18:00Speaker 2: reduces your sleep quality. So the angle also matters because
- 18:05Speaker 2: overlight heads hit the part of your retina wired to
- 18:09Speaker 2: associate that position with the sun.
- 18:12Speaker 3: Oh my god.
- 18:13Speaker 2: Right, So when the light is.
- 18:16Speaker 1: Coming from above you, your retina and your brain is going, well,
- 18:19Speaker 1: the light's coming from above me, the sun's up, the
- 18:22Speaker 1: sun's on.
- 18:23Speaker 2: Someone turned the sun on. Yeah you know, And I
- 18:26Speaker 2: was like, wow, this is also interesting. And then it
- 18:29Speaker 2: also goes into like it depends how deep you want
- 18:31Speaker 2: to go into it, because you could go into the
- 18:33Speaker 2: difference between LEDs and blah blah blah. My boyfriend would
- 18:36Speaker 2: be frothing that.
- 18:37Speaker 1: Yeah, absolutely absolutely so would yours.
- 18:39Speaker 2: To be honest, yeah, no, it's so it signals to
- 18:43Speaker 2: your hypothalamus when you turn on the big light and
- 18:46Speaker 2: it triggers all the buzz to suppress melatonin, which is
- 18:50Speaker 2: what helps you rest and feel cozy and end up
- 18:53Speaker 2: going asleep and what makes you essentially feel relaxed.
- 18:56Speaker 3: Damn, I know.
- 18:58Speaker 2: So this is why I'm like, we're all out here
- 19:00Speaker 2: making the joke that the big light is illegal.
- 19:02Speaker 3: It really is. It is it is. It has no purpose.
- 19:06Speaker 1: And so lately what I've been trying to do is
- 19:09Speaker 1: I've ended up buying. There was one house that we
- 19:12Speaker 1: went to and she just had lots of lamps everywhere
- 19:16Speaker 1: and that was like the lighting in her home, and
- 19:18Speaker 1: I was like, locked in, I'm doing that. So the
- 19:22Speaker 1: kind of what to buy for me to embrace the
- 19:25Speaker 1: higge is low placed lamps, warm toned bulbs, no cool lighting, candles.
- 19:34Speaker 2: Also candle light warmers. You've spoken about these, but also
- 19:39Speaker 2: recently searchers for dust candle warmers have spiked by up
- 19:43Speaker 2: to one hundred and forty percent. So everyone's locking in.
- 19:47Speaker 2: But also if you can dimmer switches, so like, I
- 19:50Speaker 2: totally understand that maybe people don't have the space or
- 19:53Speaker 2: they don't want a bunch of lamps around. Fair enough,
- 19:55Speaker 2: you could also look into dimmer switches, but doing these
- 19:59Speaker 2: and also an't bulbs, so like when you're watching Telly,
- 20:02Speaker 2: turning them to a color like blue or red or
- 20:05Speaker 2: whatever to kind of signal to your brain. Okay, we're
- 20:08Speaker 2: getting into bedtime, and you can put them on a
- 20:10Speaker 2: timer so when it gets to like ten o'clock, they
- 20:15Speaker 2: can switch to like a dark blue light or they
- 20:17Speaker 2: can just switch off and you can be like, Okay, yeah,
- 20:20Speaker 2: nice bedtime.
- 20:21Speaker 1: Wow.
- 20:22Speaker 4: Love.
- 20:22Speaker 1: But my next purchase to survive winter is a good
- 20:26Speaker 1: puffer jacket. Oh yeah, kind of random, yeah, but also
- 20:32Speaker 1: not Yeah, but I feel like it is something that
- 20:34Speaker 1: we've never really spoken about on the show. Like obviously,
- 20:38Speaker 1: a good leather jacket or a fur jacket is our
- 20:42Speaker 1: bread and butter, something that we talk about all the time.
- 20:45Speaker 1: But I do truly think that a good quality puffer
- 20:47Speaker 1: jacket is something that will last you not only the
- 20:49Speaker 1: entire winter season, but for years and years.
- 20:52Speaker 2: No. I'm actually like realized why this You've looked into
- 20:55Speaker 2: this so much? Because I remembered you was it when
- 20:57Speaker 2: you were going to New Zealand or you were going
- 20:59Speaker 2: somewhere When you're going somewhere cold and you were like,
- 21:02Speaker 2: I want a really good patha jacket, and it was
- 21:05Speaker 2: one of those purchases that you were like so locked
- 21:07Speaker 2: into because you're like, I'm not buying this on a whim,
- 21:09Speaker 2: I'm buying this forever.
- 21:10Speaker 3: Yeah, like this is an investment piece.
- 21:13Speaker 1: Yes, so yeah, I definitely took it very seriously, and yeah,
- 21:18Speaker 1: I bought it for that trip because obviously New Zealand
- 21:20Speaker 1: gets fucking cold in winter and it's good to have
- 21:23Speaker 1: if you are going on like a winter holiday. But
- 21:25Speaker 1: I wear it all the time on the weekend, like
- 21:27Speaker 1: when I'm going to grab coffee or on a rainy
- 21:29Speaker 1: day when you have to like duck downstairs to grab
- 21:32Speaker 1: your package. I actually wear it all the time, which
- 21:34Speaker 1: I didn't necessarily think that I would. But that's why
- 21:36Speaker 1: I'm so glad that I did invest in one that
- 21:39Speaker 1: is good quality and from a brand that I like,
- 21:42Speaker 1: and also just a style that I feel like isn't
- 21:45Speaker 1: wasn't super trend based.
- 21:47Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 21:47Speaker 1: So I got mine from dis x Macnah kind of random.
- 21:52Speaker 1: They're that brand that have like really cool graphic T
- 21:54Speaker 1: shirts and stuff. It's very like streetwear motorcycle cloth.
- 21:59Speaker 3: Yeah, I was gonna saytle.
- 22:00Speaker 1: Bit Baker yeah, and it's a men's jacket, but I
- 22:04Speaker 1: was like, I don't care.
- 22:05Speaker 2: I love men's jackets.
- 22:06Speaker 1: Yeah, Chris and I actually got the same one, so
- 22:09Speaker 1: we have the same puff of jacket and not often matching,
- 22:11Speaker 1: which is who bought it first.
- 22:13Speaker 3: We got it at the same time.
- 22:14Speaker 2: Did you go together and you showed him when he
- 22:16Speaker 2: was like, well like that.
- 22:17Speaker 1: No, we were like at David Jones shopping together. Yeah,
- 22:21Speaker 1: and they were on sale and I was like, oh,
- 22:23Speaker 1: this is cute, and maybe I picked it up for him,
- 22:26Speaker 1: and then I.
- 22:26Speaker 3: Was like I like it as well.
- 22:30Speaker 1: But yeah, there's so many great brands and I got
- 22:34Speaker 1: mine like slightly oversized so that I could easily layer it.
- 22:38Speaker 1: I do think that that one was I can't really
- 22:40Speaker 1: remember how much it costs, but I think it was
- 22:42Speaker 1: like maybe a couple of hundred dollars. But I did
- 22:45Speaker 1: get it on sale, but yeah. Uniclo also has their
- 22:48Speaker 1: puff tech insulated jackets, which has like a down alternative
- 22:53Speaker 1: material that mimics the structure of natural down feathers that
- 22:57Speaker 1: a lot.
- 22:57Speaker 3: Of jackets use. Those jackets from unichl.
- 23:00Speaker 1: The prices typically range between around one hundred to two
- 23:02Speaker 1: hundred dollars, depending on the style and they have like
- 23:05Speaker 1: your classic puffer jacket, but then they also have these
- 23:08Speaker 1: ones that I saw and they're almost like that utility
- 23:12Speaker 1: jacket that's very hard. So yeah, go with the Faurry collar. Yeah,
- 23:15Speaker 1: really cute. Yeah, but also there's some really cool vintage
- 23:19Speaker 1: ones floating around out there, like from software brands like
- 23:23Speaker 1: Billabong and Quicksilver. If you want something that's a little
- 23:25Speaker 1: bit more unique, or if you like to shop things secondhand,
- 23:28Speaker 1: like I definitely recommend jumping on eBay or going to
- 23:31Speaker 1: markets or yeah, having a look and seeing what you
- 23:34Speaker 1: can find because they're always excellent quality too.
- 23:37Speaker 2: Speaking of eBay, the other thing you can do on
- 23:39Speaker 2: your Hot Chick winter checklist is do a wardrobe clear
- 23:41Speaker 2: out because I've been seeing so many people talking about
- 23:44Speaker 2: it that eBay is now free to sell.
- 23:45Speaker 1: On ah really so.
- 23:49Speaker 2: I think the terms and conditions have changed, and obviously
- 23:51Speaker 2: given so much of the conversation around like deep hops
- 23:54Speaker 2: fees as well that yeah, I'm really getting around. I
- 24:00Speaker 2: have like seven items that I'm watching.
- 24:03Speaker 1: I love eBay.
- 24:04Speaker 2: I love eBay. My little hack to find really cool
- 24:07Speaker 2: like vintage pieces from like brands you love, like even
- 24:10Speaker 2: things like Prata Dior. If you want to find like
- 24:14Speaker 2: vintage designer pieces on eBay, you can go into the
- 24:18Speaker 2: settings and you go like you can filter by location
- 24:21Speaker 2: if you want, so it can be only Australian based,
- 24:24Speaker 2: but Japan and America tend to have like the better
- 24:27Speaker 2: vintage pieces. And you go sort newest listings and then
- 24:34Speaker 2: you do auction only, and so basically you see all
- 24:39Speaker 2: of the newest like auction items, and it shows you
- 24:42Speaker 2: all the listings that are like one dollar for a
- 24:45Speaker 2: pair of Prata sunglasses. Obviously it goes up, but there's
- 24:49Speaker 2: so many things on eBay that don't hit the algorithm
- 24:52Speaker 2: or the feed that you can get things for such
- 24:56Speaker 2: a good price, like they're a jacket. It's like leather
- 25:01Speaker 2: vintage jackets from like Dior that go for like three
- 25:04Speaker 2: hundred bucks, which is so good.
- 25:07Speaker 3: Yeah, and I've mentioned this hack.
- 25:10Speaker 2: I love how my hack was selling clothes you don't
- 25:13Speaker 2: wear and I'm like, but by yeah, yeah, to make
- 25:15Speaker 2: room for yeah, but to go shopping.
- 25:19Speaker 1: Yeah, my hack is that. And I think I mentioned
- 25:22Speaker 1: this on the show before, but every single time I've
- 25:24Speaker 1: put something in my cart on eBay, I always get
- 25:27Speaker 1: a discount. Every time I get an offer from the
- 25:30Speaker 1: cellar being like off code, come on, and.
- 25:33Speaker 3: I'm like, I'm get it.
- 25:35Speaker 1: Yeah, like psych I was already gonna buy it. Yeah,
- 25:38Speaker 1: I just was.
- 25:40Speaker 3: I was bluffing exactly.
- 25:59Speaker 2: Okay, moving on to something a little bit different. Is
- 26:03Speaker 2: my next Hot Chick Winter checklist? Bring back the twenty
- 26:08Speaker 2: two episode shows. Please think I've done this rant before,
- 26:12Speaker 2: but I'm going to lock back into it again, and
- 26:16Speaker 2: I'm just i'd need to get back into the twenty
- 26:19Speaker 2: two episode shows of the early two thousands. There is
- 26:21Speaker 2: no better feeling than when you find a twenty two
- 26:24Speaker 2: episode show with like six seasons and you're like, that's
- 26:29Speaker 2: my entire winter sorted. But according to Statista, since twenty twenty,
- 26:34Speaker 2: the amount of episodes in a series has been in
- 26:37Speaker 2: a serious decline. In twenty twenty two, they reported the
- 26:41Speaker 2: average was ten point six episodes per season, with that
- 26:45Speaker 2: dropping to nine point six by twenty twenty three. And
- 26:49Speaker 2: I would go as far to say that average in
- 26:51Speaker 2: twenty twenty six is more than likely eight.
- 26:55Speaker 1: Yeah, I would agree, especially.
- 26:57Speaker 2: Given that it's I would go to argue it's the
- 27:00Speaker 2: most expensive time ever in terms of watching TV, with
- 27:05Speaker 2: the cost of multiple streaming platforms increasing and multiple streaming
- 27:11Speaker 2: platforms breaking away into their own individuals, like with HBO, Max, Disney, Hulu, Netflix,
- 27:18Speaker 2: stand Prime, Like it's ridiculously expensive and also you now
- 27:25Speaker 2: are also paying to watch ads. Yeah, I saw this
- 27:29Speaker 2: post and I couldn't find it, but it was showing
- 27:30Speaker 2: you the percentage of people that pay for the ad
- 27:32Speaker 2: subscription and the like when they're signing up to something
- 27:35Speaker 2: because it's just too expensive, not too nowadays. And the
- 27:40Speaker 2: reason why I want to lock back into twenty two
- 27:42Speaker 2: episode shows is because the format isn't just like more
- 27:47Speaker 2: convenient because it gives you more things to entertain yourself
- 27:50Speaker 2: with when it's cold and rainy and you want to
- 27:52Speaker 2: cozy up, but it's more comforting.
- 27:56Speaker 1: Yeah, well, because it gives you something to look forward
- 27:58Speaker 1: to and you really get to know the characters. Yeah,
- 28:01Speaker 1: you go on all the side quests like I want
- 28:04Speaker 1: a journey.
- 28:04Speaker 2: Bring back filler episodes, Yes, bring back filler episodes. I
- 28:10Speaker 2: love twenty two episode seasons because there's one overarching plot, yeah,
- 28:16Speaker 2: that's the big girl plot, but then you have little
- 28:18Speaker 2: mini side quests in there that I'm like, what are
- 28:21Speaker 2: we doing today? Let's go Yeah, I'm locked in. Like
- 28:25Speaker 2: it was just like characters had time to maybe develop,
- 28:30Speaker 2: You had more time for character arcs, You had time
- 28:33Speaker 2: for them to be a little bit awkward or to
- 28:35Speaker 2: work things out in the storyline. And I actually think
- 28:39Speaker 2: the filler episodes did more of the heavy lifting emotionally
- 28:42Speaker 2: for me.
- 28:43Speaker 1: Oh yeah, some of my favorite episodes from shows like
- 28:46Speaker 1: that are the ones that aren't, like the iconic final
- 28:50Speaker 1: episode of the season Christmas special, the halloweenactly. Yeah, in
- 28:57Speaker 1: an eight episode season, there is no space for the Christmas,
- 29:02Speaker 1: Halloween Thanksgiving episode.
- 29:04Speaker 2: We just get it at the end of the summer.
- 29:06Speaker 1: I turn pretty in the credits, which, don't get me wrong,
- 29:08Speaker 1: I absolutely loved.
- 29:10Speaker 2: I would have liked a Christmas episode two.
- 29:12Speaker 1: I want to see what like Conrad's getting Belly, yeah,
- 29:17Speaker 1: getting me?
- 29:17Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 29:18Speaker 1: And like the dilemma does Jeremiah get Belly a present?
- 29:22Speaker 3: I don't know, like make.
- 29:23Speaker 2: All episode around that series that would keep me fair
- 29:27Speaker 2: Like he's at the store and he's.
- 29:28Speaker 1: Like, what should I get her?
- 29:30Speaker 2: I don't know, Like do I get her something? Yeah?
- 29:32Speaker 3: He got her for Secret Santa? What does he do?
- 29:35Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 29:36Speaker 3: Say come on?
- 29:36Speaker 2: Demon actually just crawled out of me, seriously, like you
- 29:42Speaker 2: just don't get that with like.
- 29:43Speaker 1: Six episodes, yeah, which I'm pretty sure like the last episode,
- 29:47Speaker 1: like the last season of The Witcher, which wasn't actually.
- 29:50Speaker 2: The last season of The Witcher, which lied to me.
- 29:53Speaker 2: I don't even know what's going on. Yeah, like there's
- 29:56Speaker 2: no consistency. Yeah, like some season one we'll have ten
- 29:59Speaker 2: episodes and seas and who has eight? So true, going
- 30:02Speaker 2: to work and so sorry that was too fast, So
- 30:05Speaker 2: that everyone works very hard, they do the in the entertainment.
- 30:09Speaker 1: Industry, and very sorry they do they do.
- 30:12Speaker 2: But it's just I also just loved that there was
- 30:15Speaker 2: no you could just enjoy it without having to like
- 30:19Speaker 2: be like no, I really need to sit down and
- 30:21Speaker 2: looking like you could fall asleep halfway through an episode,
- 30:23Speaker 2: and you didn't have to stress about it. Yeah, you'd
- 30:26Speaker 2: be like, well, welcome back tomorrow or maybe I won't.
- 30:29Speaker 1: Yet the next one exactly.
- 30:32Speaker 2: Isn't that crazy? And it just also becomes like background warmth,
- 30:36Speaker 2: like you're with your friends. Yeah. So I am going
- 30:43Speaker 2: back to my roots this winter. I'm going back into
- 30:47Speaker 2: twenty two episode shows. So I wanted to share a
- 30:49Speaker 2: little list, but please feel free.
- 30:51Speaker 3: To contribute, of course.
- 30:52Speaker 2: So my twenty two episode shows to watch this winter.
- 30:56Speaker 2: Gray's Anatomy yep, Criminal Minds.
- 31:01Speaker 1: Love that show.
- 31:02Speaker 2: I haven't been able to find a crime TV show. Better,
- 31:06Speaker 2: Please give me recommendations. One Tree Hill, you know how
- 31:11Speaker 2: I feel about that. Gossip Girl yep, Supernatural your fav
- 31:16Speaker 2: thank me later.
- 31:18Speaker 3: And Smallville. Oh, I loved small Ville.
- 31:21Speaker 2: Loved Smallville. I watched all twelve seasons.
- 31:23Speaker 3: I believe there's twelve, but I watched.
- 31:25Speaker 2: All of them and I had them all on DVD.
- 31:28Speaker 1: Go even further, get a DVD player and buy them
- 31:30Speaker 1: all on DVD.
- 31:31Speaker 3: Yes, that's what I'm just gonna say.
- 31:33Speaker 1: And then you fall asleep and you wake up to
- 31:34Speaker 1: like THEE.
- 31:40Speaker 3: And him slamming open like his portaloo door. Yeah, oh
- 31:44Speaker 3: my god.
- 31:45Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly what I see when my boyfriend does a
- 31:47Speaker 2: shit in the morning.
- 31:52Speaker 3: I don't go in there.
- 31:54Speaker 1: And so anyway, we have like a little tiny toilet
- 31:57Speaker 1: that's like THEO point five, just like a toilet, and
- 32:00Speaker 1: a sink like like one meter by one meter.
- 32:03Speaker 2: It's called the Pooh bathroom. Now, H's like, oh, do
- 32:05Speaker 2: you need to use a bathroom like.
- 32:06Speaker 1: You go in the Pooh bathroom. I don't want to no,
- 32:11Speaker 1: you leave that, but I don't go in there when
- 32:13Speaker 1: I need yeah, the big one. Yeah.
- 32:15Speaker 2: Yeah, anyway, so that's MA, that's main.
- 32:18Speaker 1: Yeah, I love that. I'd like to also throw in
- 32:20Speaker 1: Gilmore Girls. Yeah, an ultimate for a Winter Watch too,
- 32:25Speaker 1: like come on now, yeah, the OC of course.
- 32:28Speaker 2: Yeah. There's not enough seasons of the OC to be
- 32:31Speaker 2: counted to be counted for twenty two episodes.
- 32:34Speaker 1: Well, the first.
- 32:34Speaker 2: Season had twenty seven.
- 32:36Speaker 1: I believe, well, you know what I mean, But I'm
- 32:38Speaker 1: throwing these they're not twenty two.
- 32:40Speaker 2: No, they don't have to be. I'm giving it credit,
- 32:43Speaker 2: is what I'm saying.
- 32:43Speaker 3: Okay, yeah, yeah, I get you.
- 32:45Speaker 2: I was like, they went above, is what I'm trying
- 32:48Speaker 2: to say.
- 32:48Speaker 1: They over delivered. Yeah, obviously I have to throw the
- 32:53Speaker 1: OC in there, and damn it, I had another one
- 32:56Speaker 1: is it the Hills? No, But I was actually going
- 32:59Speaker 1: to say, I feel like the only shows that do
- 33:01Speaker 1: have twenty two episodes now a reality TV.
- 33:04Speaker 2: My book, The Seaqualizer, Mormon Wis only had like.
- 33:07Speaker 1: Some of them have short Yeah yeah, I'm thinking I'm
- 33:10Speaker 1: probably just thinking of like Survivor, Love Island Maps.
- 33:14Speaker 3: Seven years Yeah, yeah, no, I fully support that.
- 33:20Speaker 1: Bring it back, please. I really want to do like
- 33:22Speaker 1: crime show like Criminal Lions, because that was so good.
- 33:25Speaker 1: That was actually the one that I was going to
- 33:27Speaker 1: bring up. And it's Blue Heelers, which is the Australian
- 33:31Speaker 1: police crime show that came out in the nineties. Okay,
- 33:34Speaker 1: there is like twenty two episodes every season. There's so
- 33:38Speaker 1: many seasons, and I will say this with chest Blue
- 33:44Speaker 1: Heelers is the best Australian TV show ever made.
- 33:49Speaker 3: It is so fucking good.
- 33:51Speaker 1: And I didn't even really watch it that much when
- 33:53Speaker 1: I was little, so it's not even a nostalgia thing
- 33:56Speaker 1: for me. Chris was obsessed with it, never watched it.
- 33:59Speaker 3: It's so good.
- 34:00Speaker 2: Is it like a different crime per episode?
- 34:02Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 34:03Speaker 2: And then of course they're like, what's happened?
- 34:05Speaker 3: Yeah exactly.
- 34:06Speaker 2: I tried to watch Cold Case. I ustill like that
- 34:09Speaker 2: when I was younger, but it wasn't as good. But
- 34:12Speaker 2: it was only the pilots. So maybe I need to
- 34:13Speaker 2: let it cook it.
- 34:14Speaker 1: Yeah, I feel like you do, because they have sometimes
- 34:16Speaker 1: a bit they're a.
- 34:17Speaker 2: Bit cheesy, But what is the best like early two
- 34:20Speaker 2: thousands crime show. That's what I need to discover this winter.
- 34:23Speaker 3: I'll report back. Yeah, drop your rex in the comments. Chicks.
- 34:27Speaker 1: Ye, the next point on our Hot Chick Winter checklist
- 34:30Speaker 1: is fashion, because of course we always say this winter
- 34:34Speaker 1: fashion is absolutely elite. Oh, it is the best, the
- 34:39Speaker 1: best time of year for fashion.
- 34:41Speaker 2: It's time for me to dust off my one hundred jackets. Yeah,
- 34:45Speaker 2: and also contribute.
- 34:46Speaker 1: More jump on eBay.
- 34:49Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, yeah, I need to stop saying that. Say
- 34:52Speaker 2: way too much.
- 34:53Speaker 3: We locked in.
- 34:54Speaker 1: Yeah, it's too much touchphrase at the moment. And I
- 35:00Speaker 1: feel like every year we often run through like the
- 35:03Speaker 1: fashion trends of winter, and that's all fun to do.
- 35:07Speaker 1: But I saw this post on Instagram, which I'll link
- 35:10Speaker 1: in the show notes, and then when I deep dived
- 35:13Speaker 1: into it deep dope, I saw there were quite a
- 35:15Speaker 1: few articles on it, and it's the concept of cortersole dressing.
- 35:19Speaker 2: You already knew. I was gonna like subscribe to this
- 35:22Speaker 2: so much because I'm like, I love a phrase. I
- 35:24Speaker 2: love an Internet phrase that like what does it mean?
- 35:27Speaker 2: It's provocative, gets people going, I'm like, what does that
- 35:30Speaker 2: mean exactly?
- 35:32Speaker 3: And I know a lot of them are floating around.
- 35:34Speaker 1: But they're fucking fun.
- 35:34Speaker 2: I have so man, yeah, so let us have it.
- 35:37Speaker 3: So essentially, I know, not on the defense.
- 35:40Speaker 1: Yeah, nobody's even saying anything, but cortersole dressing is the
- 35:45Speaker 1: fashion philosophy that focuses on curating a wardrobe that actively
- 35:48Speaker 1: soothes your nervous system, right, rather than stimulating it, which
- 35:55Speaker 1: I do think is something that you can embrace all
- 35:57Speaker 1: year long, but in absolutely but in winter when you
- 36:00Speaker 1: really want to get cozy and like fashion is so fun.
- 36:06Speaker 1: I do think that this is something really good to
- 36:08Speaker 1: embrace as we're slowing down into the cooler months. Harper's
- 36:11Speaker 1: Bizarre described it as dopamine dressing's final boss, which I
- 36:16Speaker 1: thought was kind of funny, but I also was like,
- 36:19Speaker 1: I don't necessarily know if I like seeing it as
- 36:21Speaker 1: like corterisole dressing versus dopamine.
- 36:25Speaker 2: Probably just like it's this natural flow and effect we
- 36:28Speaker 2: have of these like terms exactly.
- 36:31Speaker 1: Yeah, And it's kind of like much like method dressing
- 36:34Speaker 1: embodies a character, or dopamine dressing embodies like loud, vibrant feelings,
- 36:41Speaker 1: this new approach curates a wardrobe around emotional states, but
- 36:46Speaker 1: favoring harmony and relaxation.
- 36:49Speaker 3: So when I first saw this, I was like.
- 36:51Speaker 1: It's just gonna be a whole closet of age, isn't it.
- 36:54Speaker 1: But that doesn't mean that it's a whole closet of
- 36:56Speaker 1: Beiesian muted tones for everyone. It could be, but it
- 37:00Speaker 1: essentially signifies a quieter and more intentional phase in fashion,
- 37:04Speaker 1: whatever that means to you, And it's focusing on those
- 37:08Speaker 1: things that you find comforting and soothing and knowing the
- 37:12Speaker 1: silhouettes and pieces and colors that make you feel relaxed
- 37:16Speaker 1: and at ease and comfortable, which I do think is
- 37:19Speaker 1: kind of like the matrix that you need to feel
- 37:20Speaker 1: confident in what you wear.
- 37:24Speaker 3: I want like.
- 37:25Speaker 2: Because you know how, sometimes, especially when I was younger
- 37:28Speaker 2: at least, like I would wear something that was so
- 37:31Speaker 2: uncomfortable for the sake of looking good, which, like I'm
- 37:34Speaker 2: not saying I'm never going to ever do that again
- 37:35Speaker 2: in my life. Oh totally, when you need to turn
- 37:37Speaker 2: a look, you need to turn a look. But definitely
- 37:41Speaker 2: now my priority when it comes to clothes and fashion
- 37:45Speaker 2: is like feeling comfortable one in genuinely just how the
- 37:50Speaker 2: clothes feel on my body, but then also how they
- 37:53Speaker 2: make me feel. Yeah, like I don't want to be
- 37:57Speaker 2: like stressed about whether or not I'm hunched over and
- 38:00Speaker 2: like does that look unflattering or whatever? Like I just
- 38:04Speaker 2: want to be like, yeah, I'm wearing clothes exactly. Yeah.
- 38:08Speaker 1: Yeah, And that's kind of what this whole thing is about.
- 38:10Speaker 1: It's like the intentional absence of restriction. So things that
- 38:14Speaker 1: just feel natural and comfortable on your body, So like
- 38:17Speaker 1: silhouettes with looser fits and more fluid kind of tailoring,
- 38:21Speaker 1: or fabrics that feel gentle and comfortable on the skin
- 38:24Speaker 1: that are breatheable, like a cotton or knits or linen.
- 38:28Speaker 1: It's kind of like, think of your closet, like your
- 38:31Speaker 1: comfort blanket. Yeah, and what would that look like?
- 38:35Speaker 2: Oh right?
- 38:36Speaker 1: A lot of the common comfies yeah, honestly the bonds
- 38:40Speaker 1: companies and the bed bathroom table PJ. As we mentioned earlier,
- 38:43Speaker 1: a lot of the common examples were like, you know,
- 38:46Speaker 1: buttery yellows, dusty blues, and pinks anchored in by like
- 38:50Speaker 1: neutrals such as oatmeal or beige.
- 38:53Speaker 2: What would your be mum would be like a good
- 38:55Speaker 2: choky brown?
- 38:57Speaker 1: Yeah, I like that. I think that mine is probably
- 39:00Speaker 1: still black. Yeah, I do think that I feel the
- 39:04Speaker 1: most comfortable in black, But I've really been getting around
- 39:07Speaker 1: barrel jeans. I honestly do think because denim you wouldn't
- 39:11Speaker 1: usually think of as a very comfortable.
- 39:13Speaker 2: Oh I don't know, you did Miami in black skinny jeans,
- 39:17Speaker 2: so you're setting the.
- 39:19Speaker 1: Trendy I am, Come on, it was my first flight
- 39:21Speaker 1: at twenty one years old. I didn't know better because
- 39:24Speaker 1: I do feel like they're quite billowy and you know,
- 39:27Speaker 1: they have that barrel shape, but also because they're a
- 39:30Speaker 1: little bit more cropped for me, they're not dragging on
- 39:32Speaker 1: the ground, which always makes me feel uncomfortable. But yeah,
- 39:36Speaker 1: that's definitely one for me, which is kind of random,
- 39:39Speaker 1: But yeah, I want everybody to let us know what
- 39:41Speaker 1: would be in their cortersole closet. What are they doing
- 39:45Speaker 1: for their quartersole dressing? Okay, our final final one is
- 39:50Speaker 1: end of financial Sales. Yes, so by the time this
- 39:53Speaker 1: episode has come out end of financially, your sales have
- 39:56Speaker 1: already started kicking off. So typically these are probably I
- 40:02Speaker 1: would say, the second larger sale season that we see
- 40:05Speaker 1: for the entire year, behind Black Friday, and it's because
- 40:09Speaker 1: so many brands are actually trying to move stock and
- 40:12Speaker 1: sell stock in order to make space and revenue for
- 40:16Speaker 1: new stock in the new financial year. So typically we
- 40:19Speaker 1: see like hundreds of products being put into sales sections
- 40:23Speaker 1: for up to like seventy percent off. So this is
- 40:26Speaker 1: a great time to do shopping to stock up on
- 40:30Speaker 1: a lot of maybe those big items or items that
- 40:33Speaker 1: you want to replace.
- 40:34Speaker 2: For the new year for yourself. So if you need
- 40:37Speaker 2: more items in your capsule wardrobe that are a little
- 40:40Speaker 2: bit more on the expensive side, like jeans, a good
- 40:43Speaker 2: pair of leather boots, blazers, jackets, that's a really good
- 40:47Speaker 2: thing to buy during end of financial year sales. But
- 40:50Speaker 2: also white goods and appliances. So if you're shopping for
- 40:54Speaker 2: furniture or fridges, don't know why it's locked in all
- 40:58Speaker 2: that just a new fridge, but like microwaves, coffee machines, dicens,
- 41:05Speaker 2: buy those during end of financial year sales because that's
- 41:08Speaker 2: when they have such a good deal. You can also
- 41:12Speaker 2: get pretty good deals on beauty, which is typically hard
- 41:15Speaker 2: to get sales on, but like Sephora, Adore, Beauty, os
- 41:19Speaker 2: Hair and Beauty price Line, they all do end of
- 41:22Speaker 2: financial year sales. It's also a really good time to
- 41:24Speaker 2: get like new glasses and things like that too, because
- 41:28Speaker 2: a lot of health insurance policies will wrap up at
- 41:31Speaker 2: the end of financial year. I find that brands like
- 41:34Speaker 2: OPSM and Specsavers and what not capitalizing on that because
- 41:38Speaker 2: people want to.
- 41:38Speaker 3: Use their extras.
- 41:39Speaker 1: So if you need a new pair of sunnies or something,
- 41:41Speaker 1: it's definitely or like a new pair of glasses, and
- 41:43Speaker 1: a financial year is a really.
- 41:44Speaker 3: Good time to do that too.
- 41:45Speaker 2: Or if you just haven't used your health insurance extras, right.
- 41:48Speaker 3: Yeah, make sure you do that.
- 41:49Speaker 1: Some of them roll over, but it's really good to check.
- 41:53Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, book that dentist appointment.
- 41:55Speaker 1: Oh yeah, seriously.
- 41:58Speaker 2: And of course, the end of financial new Sales cheat
- 42:02Speaker 2: sheet from two broad Chicks is loading. It'll be coming
- 42:07Speaker 2: very early June and we will be keeping it updated
- 42:10Speaker 2: throughout the entire month so that you can save on
- 42:14Speaker 2: end of financial deals. We pull in fashion, beauty, lifestyle, activewear, home, travel, whatever,
- 42:22Speaker 2: all into a spreadsheet so that you can compare sales
- 42:26Speaker 2: and see where you can get the best deal. And
- 42:28Speaker 2: that's my hot cheek winter checklist tip.
- 42:31Speaker 1: Plus, Also, a portion of all of the affiliate revenue
- 42:34Speaker 1: that we make from the cheat sheet goes towards charity,
- 42:37Speaker 1: so that's the little cherry on top for you, so
- 42:39Speaker 1: you can literally donate to charity and chop end of
- 42:41Speaker 1: financially sales. The best of both worlds. I know, but
- 42:45Speaker 1: I think that's a wrap. Yeah.
- 42:47Speaker 3: On our Hot Chick Winter checklist.
