- 0:23chickens. Hey everybody.
- 0:29Good morning from the Chicken Coop.
- 0:31So today, let's talk about creativity, one of my favorite
- 0:34subjects. Anybody who knows?
- 0:36Me personally, follows me online knows that I am.
- 0:39Very, very, very, very very, very attached to being creative,
- 0:43was built up in me. When I was little, I have always
- 0:46had my head spinning since the time I can remember about coming
- 0:50up with ideas and things to do and things to create and it's
- 0:54just been a part of my life. I have distinct thoughts being
- 0:57like a four-year-old. Wishing that that I'm we had
- 1:01colored glue and mixing paint with glue in my dad, getting
- 1:05really annoyed with me because I had all these different colors
- 1:07and glue, which now is a whole industry and I laugh every time
- 1:11I see it. Inside all the Korea, the
- 1:13Crayola displays at Walmart, makes me laugh.
- 1:16But anyway, creativity is such a huge part of us as people.
- 1:23And I know, there are those of you listening going, I'm not
- 1:26creative at all. And that's bullshit everyone is
- 1:28creative in their own unique. Ways we just don't always see it
- 1:32as creative. We don't call it creative, we
- 1:34don't acknowledge our creativity, we put it in a box
- 1:38and say, oh well, I'm not that creative.
- 1:41I can't draw. And my mother used to say that
- 1:44all the time. Well, I'm not creative at all.
- 1:45I can't draw. But it was such a crock because
- 1:49she could actually make Afghans like, nobody's business and
- 1:54design them herself and she would needlepoint and she would
- 1:57do all these other things, she couldn't cook.
- 1:59And no, she couldn't. Raw at all.
- 2:01But boy, could she needlepoint. And could she crochet?
- 2:06And I just always admired that because I don't have those
- 2:10skills. I don't needlepoint and I don't
- 2:12crochet. Yes, I paint.
- 2:14Yes, I take pictures. Yes, I Garden.
- 2:17Yes, I do, lots of things, but not those things.
- 2:20So it comes in many forms. Creativity.
- 2:23Can come in cooking, it can come in gardening, it can come in
- 2:28anything. Like I have a client who gets
- 2:30Her nails done and she tells the girl what she wants to have the
- 2:34nails, you know, the color that she wants them done.
- 2:38And then she goes home and she paints little pictures on her
- 2:41nails, so her she's right-handed.
- 2:43So it's always her left hand that has a little pictures, but
- 2:45she will paint a scene going from one to the other.
- 2:48So she still goes and gets the nails done nicely.
- 2:50But then she comes back and she paints on them.
- 2:52These little scenes, which to me is amazing.
- 2:55And she says, well, I'm not really got creative.
- 2:57And I'm like, what about your nails?
- 2:58So she goes, well, I guess so, but she doesn't acknowledge And
- 3:01the point is when you don't acknowledge this, you are again,
- 3:06beating yourself up and not allowing yourself to step into a
- 3:10whole different level of greatness.
- 3:11Now why is this so important with creativity?
- 3:15Because it's the root part of our soul.
- 3:17Its it is built into us in such a way everything that you see
- 3:22around us in the world has been created everything that you see
- 3:27around us has been created. When you look at I mean I I'm
- 3:30standing out in the chicken coop and I look at this awesome Coupe
- 3:34that they have and that's a shed.
- 3:36I bought a shed and had it they designed it to help me have it
- 3:41for the chicken, somebody created that that's creativity.
- 3:44How else can we do it? Putting the swings up
- 3:47creativity. All These Little Things add up
- 3:50and they make our lives great, but they can't do it when we
- 3:54say, well, I'm not creative because immediately that's what
- 3:57you start acting like. Well, I can't think of something
- 4:00I'm not - oh my gosh, such a silly way to put our focus and
- 4:06attention out there. So I'm going to challenge you to
- 4:10actually go through a process with yourself and say where do I
- 4:15show up creative every day? Where are my little tidbits of
- 4:19creativity. I don't care if it's how you put
- 4:21your food on your plate to eat dinner.
- 4:24Making it look beautiful like a chef did it.
- 4:26Sprinkling it with herbs putting a little drizzle of sauce around
- 4:30the Outside edge having it looked so fancy.
- 4:33You know, great example, bartenders are fabulous with
- 4:37this bartenders might say, well I'm not creative.
- 4:39I just know how to make drinks. No, you're creative the way you
- 4:42make the drink, layered in the glass.
- 4:44The way you have those little garnishes on the top.
- 4:49All creativity. We see it.
- 4:51In our mind, we try it, we put it out there.
- 4:55Make somebody smile, even ourselves.
- 4:57Making yourself. Smile is important.
- 4:59So I want to put you guys in a position where you start seeking
- 5:05it regularly because this will level up everything else you're
- 5:08doing. If you're running teams, if
- 5:11you're running your own business, if you're even if
- 5:13you're working in a business and you're doing your a job for a
- 5:16company, when you cultivate your creativity and I do mean it's a
- 5:20cultivation process, you have to work at it.
- 5:23You can't just say oh I'm creative and then never do
- 5:26anything with it. That's not how it works.
- 5:28You use it or lose it and it Not get stronger, if you're not
- 5:32working, it's a muscle. So, think about all the little
- 5:36places where you can sprinkle creativity in your day, you
- 5:39know, if you follow me on social media, you'll see pictures of
- 5:43how I give the chickens breakfast and bring out platters
- 5:47to them. And I'm always creatively
- 5:48thinking of different things I can offer them how I can put it
- 5:51out and serve it to them. It seems stupid but it's all
- 5:54part of creativity, you know? Although my husband teases me
- 5:58all their the Martha Stewart chickens.
- 5:59They're so spoiled. The reality is it's part of my
- 6:04mental health and my mental well-being to use my creativity
- 6:08all the time to interact with them, to be with them to provide
- 6:12food and shelter and nice things for them.
- 6:16It's all part of my creativity. That's why it's so important to
- 6:19me. So, go out, cultivate some
- 6:21creativity for yourself today and every day and I promise you
- 6:25you will see magic happen in your life because the necessity
- 6:28of creativity is non-negotiable. Sociable it has you have to have
- 6:32it you have to put it into your life because the more you do it
- 6:35the better you feel it's a direct connection so go be
- 6:40creative and I'll see you guys tomorrow.
- 6:42Bye. Sociable it has you have to have
- 6:32it you have to put it into your life because the more you do it
