- 0:00Speaker 1: Sorry, I don't know what to tell you. The F
- 0:01Speaker 1: word makes it funnier. It's one more thing.
- 0:04Speaker 2: I'm strong and getty, one more thing.
- 0:07Speaker 1: Before we get to that. I just downloaded the Gemini app.
- 0:12Speaker 1: I hadn't been using that for some reason. That's Google's
- 0:14Speaker 1: AI and they've poured hundreds of millions of dollars into
- 0:21Speaker 1: creating that thing. I mean, they're one of the big
- 0:22Speaker 1: big players, definitely. So I've been using Chat, GPT, Claude,
- 0:27Speaker 1: whoever's that one belongs to, Grock Claude is flitted out
- 0:32Speaker 1: of my mind. Microsoft, No GROC, which is obviously Elon's. Yeah,
- 0:38Speaker 1: look up what Claude is. And now I've got Gemini, Googles,
- 0:40Speaker 1: and I've got all four of them. Now h thropicthrop Yeah,
- 0:45Speaker 1: it was recommended to me by somebody because they liked
- 0:47Speaker 1: the font. It does have a very pleasing font. But
- 0:50Speaker 1: so I've been using all three of them. Then, like
- 0:52Speaker 1: if I have a question, I ask all three and
- 0:54Speaker 1: then I compare and contrast and it's kind of interesting
- 0:56Speaker 1: to do.
- 0:56Speaker 2: And I just.
- 0:57Speaker 1: Downloaded Gemini and said, hey, Gemini, I've been using Claude, Chat, GPT,
- 1:01Speaker 1: and GROC, and now I'm gonna include you in compare
- 1:04Speaker 1: and contrast, and it said, oh cool, welcome aboard. Here's
- 1:07Speaker 1: a rundown of the different styles we all have. And
- 1:10Speaker 1: then it gave me a like a table that said,
- 1:14Speaker 1: for different kinds of problems, who's best at it and
- 1:16Speaker 1: who's not in their conversational tone and blah blah blah.
- 1:19Speaker 2: It's just so weird.
- 1:21Speaker 3: Was it self serving or do you think it was
- 1:23Speaker 3: a fairly honest? Uh? Description?
- 1:25Speaker 1: It seemed pretty honest. There was only one that was
- 1:27Speaker 1: There was only one that seems self serving, although it
- 1:29Speaker 1: could be true. It said, groc is two online.
- 1:33Speaker 3: Okay, maybe interesting, but.
- 1:38Speaker 1: Those other guys, those guys suck.
- 1:41Speaker 3: You want to hang with losers, Go ahead, loser, You're
- 1:43Speaker 3: all right.
- 1:44Speaker 1: Google saying something is too online is pretty funny. Anyway,
- 1:49Speaker 1: I'll try that out and see how that goes.
- 1:51Speaker 3: Oh, you know what I need to do, although people
- 1:53Speaker 3: can do it from thoseselves, I suppose is I just
- 1:55Speaker 3: have the first three you mentioned, and I asked them
- 1:57Speaker 3: recommend maybe the twenty the twenty greatest books about liberty?
- 2:05Speaker 3: Did you get twenty most influential important books written about liberty?
- 2:09Speaker 1: How much overlap was there in the answer pretty fair amount.
- 2:12Speaker 3: But enough underlap, none lap? What's the opposite overlap? And
- 2:19Speaker 3: whatever the opposite of overlap was, there was enough to
- 2:22Speaker 3: be intriguing.
- 2:23Speaker 1: Yeah. Man, it's so much better than just googling something.
- 2:25Speaker 1: If you're not doing that already, it's she's not even close.
- 2:28Speaker 1: Okay to the F word just makes it funny. I
- 2:31Speaker 1: know some of you are bothered by that. If you're
- 2:33Speaker 1: bothered by F bombs, then you're not going to want
- 2:35Speaker 1: to listen to this. This is from The Daily Show
- 2:37Speaker 1: Monday night on Comedy Central. John Stewart does it once
- 2:41Speaker 1: a week. He's a guy that made the Daily Show famous.
- 2:43Speaker 1: He retired because his wife said it was time to
- 2:46Speaker 1: do her thing now and they took care of lost
- 2:50Speaker 1: dogs or something there, cats or something decade and then
- 2:53Speaker 1: he went back to work one night a week.
- 2:57Speaker 2: Now.
- 2:57Speaker 1: I remember back in the day, they would bleep him
- 2:59Speaker 1: when I to watch him all the time. What changed
- 3:02Speaker 1: to where they don't bleep him anymore? Do you know.
- 3:06Speaker 3: It's an exclusively cable now streaming.
- 3:08Speaker 1: My sense is this my senses? They just started pushing
- 3:11Speaker 1: it with S bombs and then nobody said anything, and
- 3:14Speaker 1: then the occasion left bomb nobody said anything, and then
- 3:16Speaker 1: they just decided nothing happens. Yeah, I've noticed on a
- 3:19Speaker 1: couple of the shows on Fox they let the S
- 3:22Speaker 1: bombs slip quite a few times. Yeah, I think you
- 3:25Speaker 1: just tried out. I mean, we've done that sort of
- 3:27Speaker 1: thing before. Nothing nobody says anything. So you think, okay,
- 3:30Speaker 1: big Fox podcast fun. Yeah, yes, bombs, S bombs, and
- 3:36Speaker 1: probably not in prime time, but like safe Harbor or
- 3:39Speaker 1: whatever that's called after nine o'clock. Yeah, come on after
- 3:44Speaker 1: nine o'clock at night. You got a crime show and
- 3:46Speaker 1: the cop can't drop an S bomb. That's ridiculous. It
- 3:49Speaker 1: makes sense.
- 3:49Speaker 3: I'd appreciate you give a heave ho of the sailor
- 3:52Speaker 3: talk neighbor, you know.
- 3:53Speaker 1: Okay. So John Stewart was very very upset that the
- 3:57Speaker 1: Democrats had caved. What's I like about this? As he's
- 3:59Speaker 1: beaten up on Democrats because he's always beaten up on
- 4:01Speaker 1: Republicans right and Trump.
- 4:03Speaker 3: Look for quote unquote caving. I'm intrigued.
- 4:06Speaker 1: Yeah, the caving wasn't the problem.
- 4:08Speaker 3: That the problem was the damn shutdown.
- 4:10Speaker 1: He is outraged that they caved. He thought they had
- 4:12Speaker 1: the leverage and blah blah blah, Anyway, here's how it sounded.
- 4:14Speaker 2: Any deal must secure the extension of the ACA tax credits.
- 4:19Speaker 1: This is about my party saying enough is enough.
- 4:22Speaker 3: Democrats will not back down, do not stop fighting.
- 4:26Speaker 2: We're in this fight until we win this fight.
- 4:28Speaker 3: Because we know we're on the right.
- 4:29Speaker 2: Side of this fight. It's literally life or death.
- 4:32Speaker 4: So Democrats have three words for this no way.
- 4:42Speaker 2: Well funny thing story.
- 4:55Speaker 5: Yes, Charles Schumer's three words were no match for these.
- 5:00Speaker 2: Five other words.
- 5:03Speaker 5: Democrats cave on the shutdown.
- 5:06Speaker 2: Excuse me, cave on the shutdown.
- 5:12Speaker 5: Not this forceful, young, authentic Democratic party that hangs out
- 5:18Speaker 5: down by the river and curses in what appears to
- 5:27Speaker 5: be a Cyrillian blue blazer.
- 5:32Speaker 4: And I say, Democrats, you gave up the only leverage
- 5:41Speaker 4: you had without getting commitments from Trump or Mike Johnson.
- 5:48Speaker 2: I cannot thing believe it.
- 5:55Speaker 5: Surely someone in the party understands that offering of vote
- 6:00Speaker 5: in the Senate without a commitment that it would pass
- 6:04Speaker 5: or that the House would even take it up is
- 6:07Speaker 5: an empty offer.
- 6:09Speaker 3: Offering a vote in the Senate without a commitment that
- 6:12Speaker 3: it would pass, without a commitment that the House would
- 6:14Speaker 3: even take it up an is an empty offer.
- 6:21Speaker 5: This guy gets it, Tim Kaine, Tim Caine, you don't
- 6:29Speaker 5: see him as one of the eight voting yes.
- 6:31Speaker 3: Virginia Senator Tim Kaine with a yes.
- 6:40Speaker 5: And for what?
- 6:42Speaker 2: So?
- 6:43Speaker 1: First of all, the version I watch, I don't know
- 6:45Speaker 1: where you got your answered. The version I watched had
- 6:47Speaker 1: the F bombs in it, so I thought it was
- 6:48Speaker 1: going to be the F bombs, but they weren't bleeping.
- 6:53Speaker 1: The outrage seems to be from the John Stuart crowd
- 6:56Speaker 1: and some others, is that they got nothing for it.
- 7:01Speaker 3: John, they had no leverage.
- 7:03Speaker 1: You don't think that there's no way.
- 7:04Speaker 3: To get those promises.
- 7:06Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know. It's possible some better negotiators could
- 7:10Speaker 1: have somehow gotten something or made it look like you
- 7:12Speaker 1: got something because they got nothing. By the pain they
- 7:16Speaker 1: would have had to have caused, Yeah, would have been
- 7:20Speaker 1: the sort of gamble that could have ended the Democratic
- 7:23Speaker 1: Party forever. But Trump was out there saying, we are
- 7:25Speaker 1: losing this shutdown. We got to open it back up.
- 7:28Speaker 1: I think you could have said, we just need to
- 7:30Speaker 1: guarantee you'll bring the Obamacare to a vote, because I think,
- 7:33Speaker 1: as John Stewart's about to point out, they did not
- 7:35Speaker 1: get a guarantee of any kind anyway. Here's another clip
- 7:37Speaker 1: from the Daily Show.
- 7:38Speaker 5: No, theytin caved on the shutdown, not even, not even
- 7:45Speaker 5: a full week removed from the best election night results
- 7:49Speaker 5: they've had in years. Seven Democratic senators and then voted
- 7:56Speaker 5: were their Republican counterparts to end the shutdown and reopen
- 8:00Speaker 5: in the government. And did they get their extended healthcare subsidies?
- 8:05Speaker 5: Democrats wanted the deal to include extending subsidies for the
- 8:08Speaker 5: Affordable Care Act. Instead, they got a promise to vote
- 8:11Speaker 5: on it at a later date.
- 8:13Speaker 2: I cannot be lad you had the wind at your back.
- 8:22Speaker 5: Election victories all over the country. The new Sydney Sweeney
- 8:26Speaker 5: movie box office Pupkuss apparently her new MAGA fan base
- 8:32Speaker 5: didn't show up in droves to see a biopic about
- 8:35Speaker 5: a lesbian professional boxer who overcomes domestic violence Deliver Truth.
- 8:40Speaker 2: Who could have seen that company?
- 8:45Speaker 5: Democrats, you sold out the entire shutdown, not to get
- 8:50Speaker 5: what you wanted, but for a promise to not get
- 8:55Speaker 5: what you wanted later.
- 8:58Speaker 2: Where in the art of war? Where hold on? Where?
- 9:05Speaker 2: Where in the art? Okay? I got it?
- 9:11Speaker 5: Sung Sue said, Never press your advantage.
- 9:16Speaker 2: It's unseemly. Fighting's hard, how about a snack?
- 9:33Speaker 1: While I disagree with him, his delivery is yes, he's
- 9:37Speaker 1: the best of that ever. But the fact that that crowd,
- 9:40Speaker 1: I guarantee you that Chuck Schumer or his aides or
- 9:43Speaker 1: whatever were aware of John Stewart's performance on Monday night
- 9:46Speaker 1: and thinking that's a problem for us.
- 9:48Speaker 2: Oh yeah.
- 9:49Speaker 1: They painted themselves into a corner and had to ask
- 9:52Speaker 1: for help getting out. It's humiliating. And the crowd that
- 9:55Speaker 1: likes John Stewart, which is a lot of progressive voters,
- 10:00Speaker 1: see it that way, or at least John Stuart's trying
- 10:01Speaker 1: to convince him to see it that way.
- 10:03Speaker 3: Sure, yeah, yeah, yeah, he was just wrong on every
- 10:07Speaker 3: single factual assertion he made or you know, yeah, Trump said, yeah,
- 10:12Speaker 3: we got to wrap this up. But Trump needs to
- 10:14Speaker 3: stay off social media mostly. I don't know.
- 10:19Speaker 1: I don't know what I would have done. I probably would.
- 10:21Speaker 1: You wouldn't have done the shutdown in the first place.
- 10:23Speaker 1: But if you end up with John Stewart lambasting you
- 10:25Speaker 1: that way in your own party, you have definitely not
- 10:27Speaker 1: achieved anything. You've only taken steps backwards, right, Yeah, I
- 10:32Speaker 1: would say.
- 10:33Speaker 3: So, although you know, to prove my point. It's not proof,
- 10:36Speaker 3: but it's pretty compelling. I think the Democrats, with the
- 10:41Speaker 3: alleged wind at their sales after the elections and everything
- 10:44Speaker 3: and better messaging and the media on their side, we're
- 10:48Speaker 3: getting nothing. And the pain was really really starting to mount.
- 10:54Speaker 3: And so a bunch of them, none of whom is
- 10:57Speaker 3: up for election next year, got together with the full
- 11:01Speaker 3: permission of a bunch of other Democrats, and said, we
- 11:03Speaker 3: got to pull the rip cord on this thing. They
- 11:06Speaker 3: I didn't convince them that they were in a terrible
- 11:10Speaker 3: suicidal position. They convinced themselves of that.
- 11:13Speaker 1: Yeah. And the uh yeah, I think that John Stewart
- 11:17Speaker 1: knows better. Okay, all right, I think the part that
- 11:20Speaker 1: he's missing is I talked about this the other day
- 11:22Speaker 1: on the radio show, that the Senators get to act independently.
- 11:26Speaker 1: It's not like the House where you kind of have
- 11:28Speaker 1: to fall in line or you'll never get a committee
- 11:30Speaker 1: and you'll get primaried in six months because you have
- 11:32Speaker 1: an election every two months and that sort of stuff.
- 11:34Speaker 3: Senators do boiler room inside the boiler.
- 11:38Speaker 1: Senators do whatever the hell they want. And you know,
- 11:41Speaker 1: a handful of them got together and said let's let's
- 11:43Speaker 1: just end this, and they don't care what Chuck Schumer's
- 11:44Speaker 1: saying to him. They don't care at all. They'll still
- 11:47Speaker 1: be in the Senate when he's gone, right, that's the
- 11:51Speaker 1: difference anyway.
- 11:54Speaker 3: Well, I guess that's efinit
